I have turns from Tarn, Llychlyn, Cravers, Ashbeards, and B'yogi.
I will update once I have turns from Vossiks, FHR, Tidal, Gyldenthrong, Sable/Karnis Hive, and Meluzina
The second Northern War Post will be up shortly.

THE ONGOING NORTHERN WAR pt. 1

-Preparations for War-
The Ashbeards call on their golden brothers to aid in the defence of the north, for the Flesh join forces together, and are supported by the Ants also. The Gylden meet this call with honour, and send their finest to the cause, each clad in new steel plate, and clutching new steel arms. They even tap their supply of their precious Ichor, so that every troop may be blessed before battle.
As Meluz-soldiers travel through the Dukkezop Pass, admiring the new walls and impressive watch, they are met with confusion from the pass-guards. The Guard Captain approaches the Meluz Commander, asking what they are doing here. The Snake explains they were sent to help the Gylden, but the Dwarf rebukes him that soldiers were recently sent to aid the Meluz; His own brother in fact is with them! The two speak a little more, and it is decided the Meluz should make haste to return home.
Sable forces are brought south for the tunnelling effort, widening the advance. More and more Ants are dedicated to the assault to come. Dwarves begin to wonder what that scratching, clicking noise is, but are too focussed on the north. Rut'ra settle into their burrows, licking their wounds and rearing the next generation.

-The Ambush-
The seal is broken. Ants swarm from their tunnel, out of the storage room and pour into the thoroughfare. There they find it is half the width of their own tunnel! Barely wide enough to squeeze two fat Dwarves side-by-side! There is a brief pause of confusion from either side, before a flurry of shouts, thrown objects, & flailing limbs. The Sable manage to kill a single Dwarf before they are harried back into their hole. There is a stalemate as neither side can force the other back for long. Sable now have a strange choice, continue to hold this chitin-grinder, or wall it up and guard it forever? Or perhaps the Dwarves will make the choice for them.
There is a strange calm as the stalemate reigns, neither Ant nor Dwarf can make headway into the others tunnels. But two can play at ambush tactics, and the Dwarves are master diggers. Triangulating the Ants tunnel, how it has dodged the mines and warrens, the Dwarves launch a counter-offensive. They mine their way above the Sable passage and break through the ceiling! The heavy Ashen literally crush the Ants below them, before being surrounded and doused in highly-acidic spit and left to melt painfully to death. Seeing this, the Dwarves take to firing on the Sable with crossbow from their opening. Ants cannot cross the line of vision without being impaled.
>>
THE ONGOING NORTHERN WAR pt. 2

-Battle of the Wall-
The Sable & Karnis wait at the wall, scouts buzzing overhead. More wait ahead of the wall, dispersed within the jungle until their time comes. At last the Dwarves are seen marching on the wall, their siege weaponry trundling with them, protected by the Dwarves own shield-wall technique. The Sable in the west, and Karnis in the east, crawl from their hiding spots, and begin linking their spiked shields together, weaving around the trees.
The Dwarven mass reaches the treeline, and after attempting to manoeuvre their heavy weapons through the dense foliage, must eventually leave them behind. They immediately see the glinting shields of the Ants in the trees, and are on high alert as they continue forward. They march through the jungle, aware of the Ants on either side of them, ever so slowly inching forward, and when a mounted Dwarf collapses into the Ants burrowing efforts atop some very confused Ants, there is a cry from the surrounding Dwarves. It is another ambush! They withdraw surprisingly orderly, eyeing the Ants continually. They make it to their own borders safely, as Caelum & Zo'Karn, the Ants flying units, cannot see well through the canopy.

END OF INTERLUDE.

(Though the Northern War continues...)

1. With most of the larger parts more or less completed and now in limited production for prototyping, there are a few parts that still require production and creation. Namely, nozzles, valves and piping. The two former should be easy enough, but the piping, that may be difficult. We used to use canvas, which we can make again no issue, but the rubber, the rubber may be difficult. Thus, prospecting begins to locate a source.

2. By implementing metal into the grips of the Foci, the magic lightning is able to conduct through the grip into the foci rod thru direct contact. The term Foci is no longer use. The first "Shock Rifle" has been made. A new weapon, for new soldiers, for new tactics. The FHRDF adds a new weapon into it's arsenal proper. With the issue of arcing still prevalent, they are delegated to experimental divisions and are for now rare in the field, but they prove quite effective, with the most impressive shots able to punch through standard steel armor, and whatever remaining energy able to scorch & shock the wearer.

Actions:
>War: Ashenbeards
-The dwarves might have retreated but they had barely begun to flee when the ants caught on to them having turned tail and fled. While a handful of workers secure the abandoned siege weapons, the Sable and Karnis forces chase hastily after their fleeing prey giving them no chance to rest. In a combined horde of Sable and Karnis, the swarm pushes South, a tsunami of chitinous black can be seen sweeping over the horizon.

-The North had become rather quiet, the strange foe having seemingly lost whatever driving force it once possessed. Were they feral? Intelligent? Regardless, they had been a strange inconvenience that held potential uses. The Swarm begins to look into methods of trapping and containing the slimes, as well as potentially communicating with them or perhaps taming them.

>Diplo: FHR/ Meluzina:
The days ahead are uncertain, but one thing the Matriarch can be sure about is the fact that having more friends is always better. Diplomatic missions are dispatched both to the humans of the west and the snakes of the east. Once the Zo'Karn reach the cities(Port Senday/Dynatos) of these nations, they fly in a circle around them in the sky while showering the city below in flowers. Outside the cities gifts are left of honeydew and food along with small totems depicting some of the ants' society and their desire for peace. Instructions are left at both locations, should they desire to talk they should build totems of their own and the ants will recognize this as a greeting. To the FHR, the instructions are left in Vossik as well in the hopes that they can understand our mutual neighbor's tongue.

>1: send troops to claim the sectors nearest to the flesh

On their way back, the troops are met with Kirill, giving them his deepest apologies for the misunderstanding. He then directs them to go and claim the territories that directly border the flesh. They are to defend our border, setting up camp along the enemy nation.

>2: help the dwarves with their farming

The dwarves have given us a deal. In order to receive goats, we must work in their farms. As such, the advertisement committee goes to work on a new campaign. "Dwarven farms open for business! Come with your skills! Return with livestock!"
Cynthia and the other representatives are attempting to get their people to copulate more often. They hope that the addition of goats as a renewable food source will give the meluz citizens the energy they need to start breeding. More people means more workforce. More workforce means more resources. More resources means a happier workforce.

>>4051432
>Diplo: dwarves + ants

The sudden gifting from these strange creatures is mighty suspicious. Especially since they're located along the border of the flesh monsters. We decide to hold off for just a little while on the return of our own totems. In the meantime, we ask the dwarves about these ants.

>Action 1: The Tongue of Strangers

The cookout with the beef-cooking neighbors had them talk to us, and us to them. And though at first it seemed but noise, as we listened and ate and drank, we became aware of patterns and rythmns, of tones and inclinations. Gradually, there are those among the Gylden who begin to gain knowledge of the Vossik language.

>Action 2: Agricultural Improvements

The Gylden Dwarves consider a field of ripening Barley on the banks of the Gylder, in the oldest lands, one of the truly wonderful sights in the world; a grand part of Guldfar's third gift to Dwarvenkind. Yet as the Gylden have spread themselves out across the lands, they have found greater expanses of farmable land, and more ways to improve it. Channels to control the flow of water, the changing of crops to keep the land ongoing and not to risk the wearing out Guldfar's blessings. Greater work is placed into the farms and new ideas that increase the ongoing bounty of our lands are eagerly spread and shared. Across the land's many fertile and abundant farming districts, new mills rise in Guldar's sight to keep pace with the growing waves of grain.

>War Action: Prepare Defences.
The Silver Dwarves called us to war when there was but one monstrous threat striking at their lands. Now there are two, and we shudder to wonder what else these beasts might have to prepare and unleash. We turn our efforts to bolstering and embellishing the defensive positions of our allies in the fight, digging solid positions and raising strong Dwarven walls, so that when these beasts come again to Dwarven land they might break and shatter.
>>
>>4051432
While the wider Vossik language is not exactly known, the Trade language has enough shared words that the "instructions" can be understood. Members of Clan Varke are quick to claim the things left, and begin studying them as to better understand this outside society attempting to contact the Remnant. It seems like a lot of others are attempting such as of late.
>>
>>4051538
>Oh, uh... War action!
The Meluz going to our border with the flesh are told to defend in the event of an attack. Not only are they told to defend, but they're told to defend like their children depend on it, because they do.
>>
The dwarves cannot outnumber the demons of the north but they can try to outsmart them.
A gathering of numerous military lords, veterans, and guild members join together for a prolonged study and implementation of advanced planning and tactics for use by lord and warrior alike.
First focus of study will be on training leadership to guide the axes of the realm into the hearts of their enemies.
>Battle Plans Part I

A new occupation arises in the midst of the attack into the underworld.
Koztzelet, or Stone Watchers, act essentially as guards that patrol the tunnels, but they focus mainly on taking note of the quality of the tunnels and chambers to be an early warning to an attack. Though they will occasionally perform the duties of a normal guard when needed.
They are chosen based on their shortsighted eyesight, better than average hearing, and are required to be able to shout as the greatest goat herders of the mountains with a special phrase as to ensure the earliest defense of the underworld.
Improved tunnels are also dug connecting the capital to the newest city of Fadtklot'dun.

The safe retreat of the dwarves brings them to the hill bordering the ant wall. The rock hurler unloaded and reconstructed to be used on any advancing ants while Odeutrkarene take position as well.
Crude defenses are made if possible to enhance the natural boon of the hills as soldiers take up spade and pick to begin more important duties.

Pinpointing the likely locations of the remainder of the invasive tunnel begins the liberation of the underworld.
Miners across the realm are called to cleanse the realm by order of the Invuld that their home may be free of the surface filth. All that can be mustered strikes into the stone to come down upon the ants, first dropping down stones into the breach and firing with crossbow, using pikes to finish or fend off any ants remaining nearby. But many furious dwarves ignore their orders and choose to delve into the tunnel to fight merely with pickaxe.

As this is done, orders from the capital arrive north to begin the next phase of the war.
Picks of the northern army strike into the hills directly above the suspected ant tunnel applying similar tactics of those used at the capital. If they can cut off the connection of ants, they should swiftly falter from starvation rather than rooting them out by hand.

>>4051538
The Meluzina are briefed on their enemy the ants, if not told beforehand in the call to arms.
Invading dwarven homeland unprovoked and without warning, the ants are not to be trusted.
Having little contact though, few details can be described other than their appearance and threat both underground through tunnels and above ground in the sky.
Meluzina are urged to be wary of any possible burrowing that may threaten them as well.

1. The Reborn Church
In the clergy there are reforms. A restructuring takes place where ranks, uniforms, and codes of conduct are implemented. The Lightseers take to wearing gilded masks in public, and don robes of white and gold thread to become closer to the sun and sky. Grand Seers, High Matrons, and Holy Virgins take their place in the ranks of the Church. Advancement within the cloth can be achieved with political connections as easily as it can magical aptitude or theological dissertation. The Inquisition in formally included within the ranks of the Church of the Lightbringer as its legal and enforcing arm. Orthodoxy is maintained by rigorous vetting by Inquisitorial authorities. The Black Ring is established as the arm of the Inquisition that ferrets out infidels. Unofficially, it is used by the exceptionally well connected to remove political rivals, although such efforts had been known to backfire on the accuser. Despite the efforts of some Inquisitors, the organization remains legitimately committed to the defense of the True Faith and its methods are largely spotless. The harshest sentences are reserved for those "Judged by Four", an Inquisitorial Tribunal and the Sun Disk.

2. Cathedral of the New Sun
In Nomach, the Grove is given a face-lift. It is included in the design of a grand cathedral. Clearly the Lightbringer favors the grove. It should be given the favor of the Republic as well. The Grove would make up the grounds of the Cathedral, with the building itself being used for services that always culminate with a faithful being blessed with healing power. The Cathedral serves a secondary purpose as a place of study for Lightseers seeking to harness the God's healing powers and master them as they had mastered fire.

Diplo: Vossik.
With the drought over the ants find themselves stockpiling more honeydew than they know what to do with, fortunately the Vossiks might. Karnis diplomats bring to them some of the finest honeydew the ants have to offer. The drink itself is rather popular throughout the colonies, widely appreciated for its smoothly sweet taste which refreshes the body after a long day of hard with. Included is even some Joyous honeydew for the Elezen to sample, a drink that carries a hint of sweetness but also possesses an earthy kick to it that lingers on one's tongue. This concentrated concoction offers thrill along with refreshment as it retains some of its hallucinogenic properties.

The Karnis would be willing to offer them this fine beverage in return for gold, but are open to alternative offers.

>Diplo: B’oo
Something very odd happened today. Two different Garnish visited the Temple, asking to see a representative of the B’oo. One was tall and slight, yet undeniably male. He was clad in a deep blue garment which trailed slightly on the floor and sported a long, white beard. The other was an elderly female, dressed far less ostentatiously yet exuding an aura of confidence and control. Both asked about B’oo magic, though the man is more interested in B’oo construction and enchanting, while the woman is more interested in their illusions and misdirection techniques. Strangest of all, each denied knowing of the other, and seemed to be genuinely startled by the question.
>Two competing factions of magicians are approaching the B’oo asking for their help.
>The man is from the Societas Arcanum, which is focused on enchantment of items and channeled magic. If you help them, they can provide the B’oo with corpses and other unsavory items from the Xycthan black market
>The woman is from the Temple of Persa, which focuses on individual magic. If you help them, they can provide acolytes capable of rudimentary magic for the B’oo to teach and study.
>You can choose to help one, both or neither.

>Diplo: Cravers
The men are terrified beyond measure, but the bone map seems to be accurate. Hestant, but with spears at the ready, they unstow their oars and begin painstakingly poling their way home.
Soon after the men leave, a new ship arrives to the area, far larger and better equipped. This one does not dawdle in the middle of the ocean, but sails decisively towards the nearest port. The captain is one Antony Domo, an aging veteran seaman famed for his ironclad will and impassive demeanor. A month ago, he had happened upon the bone map, up for sale in an otherwise typical stall. Though initially he dismissed it as a well-done fake, something about it caught his eye. Further study revealed the accuracy of the map was far too good to attribute to mere forgery. Captain Domo had scraped together a ship and Council charter as fast as he could. Now, he intends to discover whether the creatures that made it are friend or foe.

Upon hearing the Garnish Ones have sent two representatives to the Temple of the Three, they were greeted by the Old One called S'mic. Even to the B'yogi, his form was an enigma. Changing in ways not many B'yogi can, but what he kept constant were those glowing turquoise color eyes. Staring into you like seeing your true self. His presence causing fear and anxiety didn't help either.

"A most humble greetings to you, honorable Garnish Ones. It is always good to exchange knowledge with each other. Your Garnish military tactics have greatly improved ours. Abd you're here again with another wonderful offer." S'mic morphs into a form resembling a fusion of the Garnish mages.
"Both offers would be a boon for us and accept them." He then split into two and leads the mages to separate rooms.
"Let us work out the minor details and celebrate afterwards." The one with the old woman talk and negotiate about how will the student exchange will work. The one with male does the same, but offers another deal.
"We know in your society some research is...unsavory. We want to offer you a place to research with minimal constraints. Though we are not so ignorant and heartless to allow abuse, creating danger to the world, and needless, what was this thing called, evil? Yes, evil. Do you agree to these terms?"

SCENE ONE

>>4040681
>Tarn
First the rains are welcomed with prayers of thanksgiving, but as they continue worry grows. The reservoirs were built when the Jakaal was low and now threaten to spill over! Overflows are dug, first to deal with the excess water, then as they fill their power is seen. Incorporating the Soghoian taught science of hydrology, the Tarn build for themselves two large undershot waterwheels, capable of yielding a good deal of energy, within their latest project; The Great Forge. There is debate as to what use the wheels should be put, hammering, grinding, lifting?
The ship is tossed by the waves and wind, blind in the fog and darkened sky. When at last the weather clears they are three men down and far off course, deep within Charnel Waters, that is to say, those of the Kahro-Cravic Union.

>>4040755
>Llychlyn
[R] For some time, a small patch of woodland in the north had struggled to grow as that around it. Two youths investigate the place, curious as they are, and find below the dirt, a seam of native lead.
The space needed for such a site did not lay within the city of Lunedannedd itself, instead being built just north of the city proper. Here the air was free of the smell of fish and smoke, a nice change for those living within the city. The area is planned out, marking on the ground where each piece will be built. Already at this phase, flowering plants and trees are being brought to the gardens to be planted. In the south of Lunedannedd the docks receive much needed attention, along with the construction of at least one crane. It is not yet that of the Human's Senday, but it is truly a port at last.

>>4040937
>Cravers
Three huge veins span over the sands, before branching under the surface. They begin, slowly, to pump watery blood out of them in all directions. At once the sand turns red, and continues to absorb the blood being pumped into it. The Charnel Bridge also begins to grow, it's old veins hardening into rigid supports for the dermis which spreads between them. It becomes a new home to all manner of beasties, those under Craver control, and those of Sigod.

>>4040981
>Ashbeards
These new tactics are codified and taught to all new and returning soldiers, including the teaching of enhanced shouting techniques. Each unit is taught when it is appropriate to split, and when to regroup. A chance phrase used to describe the procedure to one group percolates, giving the divisions the nicknames "Vaana'thaa" & "Nor'thaa" for the main group and offshoot respectively.
With the need for soldiers, and all that surrounds them, the Invuld institutes a slew of popular reforms & new programmes. Most noteworthy is the lowering of taxes the more children a family has, and the slashing of the price of Invulden-controlled goats-milk, short-ale, and oats; All the things a growing Dwarf needs. In each mountainhome a competition is begun as to which Dwarf has the most children by the end of the War.
>>
>>4041152
>B'yogi
The Temple of M'ed is erected, casting its holy shadow over the plain. Inside it is furnished with fine Hacmos cloth and commissioned pieces of turquoise. Here the B'oo will study the magics of the in-between, the betwixt, and the never-there. To guard their land, and more importantly, their secrets, the B'yogi begin the construction of the Eastern Wall, stretching from Shine to Heed in the northern territories, and from the sea to the eastern farms. There is some questioning as to how said farms will continue to flourish, if they cut of their access to the river. Another thing to ponder.

>>4051357
>FHR
The finer pieces are doable, if slowly and in small numbers, requiring such delicate work as they do. That will require more attention, more pressing is the need for a source of rubber. It is a stroke of luck that a member of the team assigned the task is an Othinian. Though he was young when he came to the FHR, he remembers much of his life in Othin. His father was part of the envoy to a race of giant ants that lived in that area, and these grittidim lived within a vast territory of jungle and swamp. Perhaps there, he postulates, they may find not only a source of this 'rubber', but many other wondrous plants too.
These "shock rifles" are certainly a novelty, and their use of refurbished pieces of old weaponry certainly improves their appeal, but given that they are wielded primarily by these new Elves makes many uneasy. For were not the slave-drivers of the past Elves with superior magics? In particular, a number of members of Clan Vay refuse to be teamed with these magic-users. Elders warn of the mixing of machinery and magics, telling tales of old, of the FHS, and of the Uskijorans & their bedevilments. More is the problem of channelling too great an energy into the foci, for its power could sometimes find a shorter route, blowing straight out of the top, or worse, back, of the gonne. This has only come with the attachment within the grip, as the magical energies must turn within the metal.

>>4051432
>Sable/Karnis
(war is ongoing, war post will be up, eventually)
The Slimes of Harmony had retreated to their underground pool, a swelling mass of pale blue beneath the barren rock. There they were seeming unreachable, for any who ventured too close would likely fall in from the crumbling rocks and be dissolved. The Ants had been taught a few hard lessons, and one of the chief among them was that being digested alive is most definitely not a pleasant experience. There remains however, scant remnants of dried, dehydrated slime throughout the sands. These can be, somewhat, safely harvested for study. Those at Quire however remain alive, and by the looks of them, hostile.

>>4051538
>Meluzina
The land is taken before the Flesh may have it, and patrolled all about by those forces previously sent south, among them a handful of Gylden. The Lowland Dwarves there help maintain order, as well as morale, known as they are for their good humour, even if their wordier jokes do not always resonate.
The Committee of Advertising launches its next campaign, informing all Meluz of the prospects of work and wealth, on farms in Dwarven land. It is primarily male Meluz who sign up for the task, stretching the recruiting pool thin for other manual tasks. But the Dwarves are true to their word, and do not work the new farmers too harshly.

>>4051900
>Gyldenthrong
Perhaps it is the flow of Gylden Ichor, or the natural smarts of the Dwarves, but soon they pick up on the basics of the Vossik tongue. Its lilting tones, and the airiness of its words are difficult for the Dwarf to get out, though enough can be surmised to at least thank them for the wonderful food. One of the Dwarves at the feast begins to sing a popular Gylden song, one of the ones with funny names in it. One of the ones that had somehow made its way south from the Vossik themselves. The Elves hear their own words in the song, and are amazed. (>>4053010)
Little farms, and impressive mills, go up every day, working to feed the Gylden-throng. It is the Gylden dream to spend one's old age on one's own farm, and gaze out at the golden barely growing all around. To sit sore, but content, from an honest days work, with a mug of ale in one hand, and a fat wife on your knee. But other matters call ones mind northwards, to the defence of the Silver Dwarves, and Dwarfdom as a whole. Work begins on a stone wall, coincidentally around Ashen farms, tilled by Meluz.

>>4053010
>Vossiks
The reforms help standardise practice throughout the Republic and it's client states, doing away with many entrenched "misbeliefs" and other idiosyncrasies. The new robes distributed to the clergy are already known to be scratchy & uncomfortable, said to be a reminder that all struggle with discomfort and anguish, and that only the Lightbringer may save us from the clutches of Baalur. Much of the changes in belief brought about by Baalur's Gift, the Othinians, are thrown out; Returning to a more traditional system, one which served the Vossik well for many generations before the stain of Man. The new garb of the Lightseers, those most high, are fearsome and awesome in equal measure, just a glance from them sends one praying. Likewise, merely uttering the name of The Black Ring is enough to chill the blood of even the most pious Elf, horror stories abound of their ruthlessness, of their ability to weed out any heresy, not matter how minor. The tales are largely exaggerated, but the reputation serves the organisation well. All in all the reforms do a great deal to maintain social order, as well as their obvious religious benefits.
>>
>Vossiks cont.
The Henge of Konukozo is officially reconsecrated under the Lightbringer, and plans are begun for the construction around it of a new church, the Cathedral of the New Sun. The building is constructed around the Henge, so that the Lightbringer's glory may shine always on the Stones. For now, it is only a shell, with little in the way of decoration, or the gilding so many churches of the Lightbringer are known for.

Even though my turn is in, here is the war action for the coming war post.

>War
The recently breeded Rut'ra cackle and roar as they emerge in greater numbers than before. The Craver attendants know that their hunger would not be sustainable by the nearby prey in their current horde numbers, and they are led on a hunt due south from the Nu Bulargh, flanking the dwarven fort and rushing past a strange obelisk. The miners and workers of the phosphate mines and Tula'krel will feed the Rut'ra with their corpses, after the attack, large Kahro war forms arrive to demolish the buildings.

>Tarn

The Captain is lead to the shore by the flesh ship, which trumpets a deep pitched moan at the sight of the vessel. As the stormy sea makes way to craggy land, a welcoming party of Cravers, much like the one that appeared upon the fleshship await. Behind them a strange tumorous building of flesh and bone pulses, with maw tipped tendrils whipping about.

After the vessel of these foreign men is escorted, the Goran goes back to patrolling the waters of the Wending Straight.

The frail Cravers send one of their number forward towards the awaiting ship, openly displaying his hands to show his lack of weapons. The Head Priest Gurstir of the Flesh Mission beckons the men off their boats, before taking a seat on the sand.

The rowboat bearing the Captain is buffeted by the tide, but safely reaches the shore after a few helpful bumps from strange creatures under the water.

The grizzled Captain Domo approaches the monstrous once-man with the bone map tucked into his satchel, and upon removing it the Craver's eyes open wide with amusement.

>"I am glad to see your people were able to return home in one peace, and even moreso brought to joy by you coming to us. How can we aid you, man of foreign shores?"

The language barrier makes things very difficult. Strange bone plated horse/dogs carry wood to the shore, and the men are invited to start a fire, and cook the gift of Rover flesh that the Cravers have brought. (If they choose to eat it, the taste would be described as a very chewy beef, but tastes bloody despite being cooked well done.)

The Head Priest tries to share with the Captain the recent history of the Cravers, their aid to Matriarch of the Sable- he means Karnis, and the current war they are embroiled in with the stunted mountain men and their allies.

The men are free to stay as long as they wish within the vicinity of the Flesh Mission.

First of which simply asking what the favorite goods of their people is. Asking if they enjoy crafts, tools, and what kinds of food and drink.
Secondly a proper home is to be established for them. Sadly they cannot return to their original home but there are other options.
Though not preferred, they could build a section underground for them to dwell, or perhaps a village constructed above ground in the nearby hills. But perhaps the best choice may the woodland in the north being similar to their original home.
If possible they would speak to the leader of the savages and formalize a friendship between the two, while the dwarves offer to civilize them with clothing, tools, food, and ale.

Construction on the temple in Lunedannedd would continue at a decent pace. With the garden mostly just needing some minor planting to be finished, the work mainly would focus on the building itself. It likely wouldn't take too long, and to Eheubryd it was nice to finally have the extra resources left over from the construction of the Eglwys fawreddog y ffyddloniaid finally be used on another site which would become a fine temple for Fanw. Of course, to construct the temple, work would temporarily be suspected on further expansion of the docks, seeing how at the moment it was unnecessary, and instead the resources there would be directed to supplying the LCL Teithiwr for a second voyage, one to the north where they could properly meet the humans of the north. After all, it was best to be able to know where their home was to better be able to communicate with them, and to do trade more regularly than whenever their own ships stopped by Porthladdgweddillion.

Once the LCL Teithiwr once more set off, it would follow the coast of Llychlyn north until it reached the curve of northernmost tip of their subcontinent. Once there, the ship would sail north until eventually seeing desert sands. This land, they'd call Môr y tywod due to the vast expanse of sands that was like another sea next to the sea. They would search the coast for a while and stick close to it, looking for signs of life. Specifically intelligent life. It potentially was a bit unpleasantly hot, but the sea breeze helped keep the crew cool. Hopefully they'd find the people they were looking for, or at least gather some directions. If, worst case scenario they found nothing, they could simply follow the coast to the east until they found the remnant people.

At home however, things seemed peaceful, and Eheubryd hoped that soon a great age of art, culture and science would come into effect soon, maybe with trade as well as Clan Llewelyn explored Tirwin and the distant lands. Perhaps this hope would be realized in time, but the chances were fairly high that culture and art would flourish and continue to do so considering the great works she had worked on...However, one key thing was missing, a center of knowledge...This would be fixed soon, at least so long as things remained peaceful with Llychlyn.

(diplo - frogs)
The Depauns agree, as their eyes have been set on a prize which they consider a greater threat, although they will be sure to remain ready enough to squash the snakes if need be

Action 1:
-Part 1 of threat assessment-
Our scout ship shall be sent around the Mare’s Tail, it shall cruise at high speeds just far enough away from the coast to not be caught by flesh things. Once it reaches the flesh bridge it takes a turn north, again maintaining a safe distance and speed. Once it reaches the northern landmass it shall take the journey around it until they reach the (strange mud looking region which the horde has terraformed) at which point it will survey the area carefully and head south to what ends up being the flesh bridge. After this they turn back and get back home, bringing the information and maps they have drawn up from their observations. Any major naval like presence will be noted and a few minor samples of the flesh bridge are retrieved and taken back for future study. If the flesh dies in the dry jars it will be noted and if it dies in the water filled jars it will also be noted.

Action 2:
The clan of amplect has been tardy in one of their main goals, that is to spread worship of obadinia. While minor conversions and the adding to personal pantheons may have occurred with the release of the copied books official worship of the great one has yet to be officiated. Thus we must fund the construction of a temple for our close friends the frogs

The Dragons agree to these terms, although some of them seem annoyed at the no-flight term as it means they will have to swim or take a boat back to their vessel. Due to this clause they will also be unable to properly advertise themselves due to how valuable each of them considers their time, thus they leave. Leaving behind pamphlets in lowlands dwarven outlining the time in which they will be returning as they need to fullfill and update the schedules of their other stops before they can commit to a proper first marketing.
If they ever feel that the tax is to burdensome they will sail out to waters far from the dwarven coast, as the sea belongs to nobody, not even themselves.

>Action 1: Zvamholm

The discovery of the Elezen of the Vossik Republic across the waters of the great river that flows down from Aeuntirgardun leads many Dwarves to wondering what kind of relationship might be forged with these new acquaintances. It is decided to establish a town upon the Gylden side of the river's mouth to Volodek. Fortunately, the plans drawn up for the walled town of Vogazdun had been kept and stored, and so with just a little reorientation and a few changes to take account of the differing climate and terrain, the plans are put to work and construction begins once more. The hope is that this new walled town, Zvamholm, will serve a similar function to the twin-river town as a stopping point for both land and water trade, with Ashenbeards just up the river as well as Elves across it - and of course, Tarnic and Deepaun ships exiting the Gyldermouth to sail across the bay.

>Action 2: Jotunkrig

The Cewri giants' ancestors were once hunters and warriors as they roamed across the plains. And though their hunting past was cast aside by Elders who wished to forget much of a sad and troubled tale, a few of these children of their children's children, grown tall and strong and to many upon Gylden foods, begin to feel the draw of life outside of construction and farming. Those first who enlist in the Gyldenthrong armies present the recruiters and Sergeants with problems, but ones they are eager to solve. Measurements are taken, and the forges of Jorgaster begin a small trickle of giant-sized mail and plate, steel-clad boots and weaponry. And the woodcrafters of Æblekag also get to work... for, long and very strong of limb, very tall and clear of sight; the Cewri seem exceptionally naturally suited to longbow weaponry unsuited for the particulars of the Dwarven physique. But we will not be prescriptive; each Cewri is sure to have a niche of their own to find.

>Diplomacy: Vossik Republic

With some measure of linguistic successes in the Vossik tongue, the first Gylden merchants head northward toward the river, and the crossing toward Volodek. Though they do not cross immediately, but stop to see if those at the border would permit their entry to trade. They show the Elezen their wares; Barrels of Dwarven Ale and Mead and strings of pork sausage, dyed cloth in many shades and colors, forged metal goods of many varieties, and the deep blue of lapis stone. Do the Vossik have any rules and regulations in their land for them to take note of, they ask?

>1: educate the public
There are skills that all meluz need in life. There are certain sets of skills that certain others need, too. With the addition of goats as livestock into our society, the representatives see the addition of an agricultural education program to be necessary. Just so people don't go about it in the worst way possible, and don't end up wasting their efforts to attain these animals. The lessons will go over breeding, milking, and harvesting. Anyone who wants to may attend, and learn how to use their new livestock to their fullest potential.

>2: construct barracks and bunkers in the form of burrows
Even if time is running slim, we need greater defenses from these fleshy beasts. And so, we do what we do best. Dig. All along our border with the flesh, we dig burrows. These will act as a quick and easy way to conduct surprise attacks against any flesh that dares to cross the border on aggressive terms. The best part? Soldiers can dig their own burrows with little difficulty, having been trained in the art of digging quickly.

>Lore:
In the capital, a crowd is gathered around the wall of a certain building. The stage on which public speaking occurs. One of the representatives is in the crowd, Titan Gogola, the speechless bull meluz.
But it is not because of a speaker that this mass of snakes has formed. Rather, it is what has been painted upon the back wall of the platform. A design depicting a clay pot with yellow details. Around that pot is a coiled snake. Not a meluz, but the corresponding creature counterpart. It wraps the pot three times, hanging its head above the pot's lip and leaking venom into it. Each wrapping is a different breed of meluz. The head is that of a rattler. Below that, the first wrap is a bull. Next is a racer's body. The final is a garter. Though jutting out from the last wrap is the tail of a rattler. Titan wants to find the one who made this, as no one was permitted to make it. Though he does not wish to issue punishment. Rather, he wants to congratulate the painter on their piece, then tell them that instead of being sentenced to a few hours of community service, they would create a redesign of the painting, in order for it to be the symbol that represents our nation.

Action 2: Grand Temple

The Lowland Dwarves begin work on a new Grand Temple/Cathedral to Guldfar in Gyldholm. Sited to the north-east of the city, within the bounds of an extension to the city wall, the Grand Temple will have one face sited toward the shrine of Emergence, and a eastern entrance-way built specifically for the pilgrims who have completed the trail of the Gyldenpath, and seek to make final observations as the Temple complex bathes them in the light and the sight of gold. As the Grand Temple, this will be the centerpiece of the Kingdom's faith; not only containing Iconic statues to the Guldfar, but also to the silver image of Guldfar's bride, Æblemor; and small shrines to each of the petty/ancestor gods will be laid throughout the complex, though all bathing in subservience to Guldfar's radiance.

>Ashbeards
[R] Goat and gold are thrown into the pit of molten rock, prayer and thanks given, and with them a plea for guidance. The priests in return receive visions of fire; Of Flesh burning all about a wide plain. To win the war, they must set a torch to the beasts until nothing but Ash remains.
The top minds from around the kingdom, along with army strategists and tacticians, are brought to the capital to draw up future battle plans & training. With this are discussions of how to best deal with individual foes in battle itself. Thankfully the incident in the thoroughfare had provided the Invulden with a small number of Ant corpses which they may study. Semi-public dissections of them become popular with those in the know. Chitin is cut through, legs amputated, the workings of muscle demonstrated. Their morphology is broken down, displaying their bizarre stretched organs, of particular note is their elongated heart which sits in their abdomen. Here then is another way to end them. Crushing shows to be effective if a whole part of the Ant can be squashed, and whilst slashing requires a good deal of force to break through their outer shell, piercing weapons easily slip through. As to the enemies of Flesh, soldiers of the northern front reveal that envenoming them with Rattler venom proves most effective, and secondly that the bodies should be burnt at high heat to prevent the abominations from using it in their terrible rituals.
Regular inspections keep the tunnels in good shape, and the Koztzelet are mighty proud of their work. They also become fountains of gossip and rumour, being always in the thoroughfares with such good hearing. The Fadtklot'dun tunnel slopes gently to ease the aching bones of the many veterans who live within the town, earning it the nickname "The Shambling Tunnel".

>Llychlyn
The temple in Lunedannedd is built, incorporating materials from both leftovers of the Great Church and the local area, making it unique in the city. Its beauty is said to rival that of anything before built, surmounted only by the Great Church of Allfshys; Its gardens too are a place of respite and tranquillity, free of the stench of the docks.
The LCL Teithiwr sails smoothly across the Sea of Glyndon, the calm waters broken only by a glittering on the horizon which can barely be seen. They come to an expanse of sand, sparsely inhabited by men of dark skin, or else sallow skin. These were the Hacmos and the Elezen, though the Children did not know their names. (>>4053010)

>Tidal
The Depaun vessel sails quickly through Cravic waters, lest they be apprehended by the ever-present Flesh. The land and waters alike are lousy with all manner of twisted aberrations, stunted crocodile-like beings, gruesome fish, and large free-floating squiddy creatures. These last are of the most concern, for they seem to study the Kraken as it sails, their terrible faces turning to watch it as it passes. They cannot get too close to the flesh-bridge, for it is covered with the Flesh monsters going about their unknowable business. But not all is lost, for small amounts of pink and grey flesh float about, enough that can be taken and stored for research. (>>4057907) The ship somehow manages to leave unmolested, their samples studied on the journey home.
The grey flesh, wet & dry specimens, both cease, and begin to decompose at a much faster rate than expected. The pink flesh however behaves differently, whilst the dry sample shrivels up, it can be revived with the application of blood, both fresh and old. It does not grow, merely continue being pink, pulsating ever so slightly. The wet specimen seems content also, taking in blood "fed" to it. They cannot be said to be alive however, for left to their own devices they remain totally motionless in and out of water.

Two heavily-laden ships are sent north, to old Othin, and find the city a ruin. Upon disembarking, they find not the Sable the Othinian guide remembered, but Karnis. (>>4053652)
Modification of both the stock & the foci is necessary to prevent further accidents. First the reinforcing of the areas most affected by surges, along with their frequent checking and repairing. Second is the construction of so-called "bent-foci", a single piece of worked steel, with bends gracefully into the grip. They require a good-deal of working however, so as not to introduce stress within the metal which scatters the arc.

>>4057907
>Cravers
The first "Gastric Casters" dissolve themselves from the inside out before they can fire a shot. But their overall function, with a shot other than the Slime, is sound; They function as a set of external lungs, which when provided nerves and blood from the "wielder" take in air, and then slam themselves shut, expelling whatever is within their chamber at force, much like a sneeze. Their is very little the Slime does not eat through, even the Karnis iron shields they dissolved slowly. A new hunt shall have to begin for something to hold the stuff.
Oasis and plain are brought into the fold, and their resources scoured for potential.

>Gyldenthrong
A Dwarven sister city to Volodek is built across the river, round it wooden walls, and to join the two a high stone bridge. Let it be a symbol of friendship and unity for evermore. The Temple complex begins construction, first the curtain wall to join the city walls, and then the foundations. Quick work is made of the first layer, enough so that services may be given, and pilgrims accepted, but it will be some time until it is completed.
Cewri, having limited knowledge of the battles of the north, begin to ask what they can do to aid the Gylden if anything. Jotte's own brother, and his wife's brother offer their services, and take great delight in the armour the Dwarves make especially for them. It is a little slapdash, given the sheer amount of iron needed to cover the Giants, but they stand proud and even as a rallying presence amongst the Dwarves of Cewri'Jotregk.

>>4059148
>Sable/Karnis
The Slimes become trapped within mighty walls of stone, relocated to their pit. Any who even attempt to flee are doused in salt and desiccated. Those Slimes who had previously escaped are collected with iron dishes, and stored at a pit of their own at the Flesh Mission.
Karnis soon discover that the best course of action, is to leave the jungle to its own devices, for slowly plant and animal life creep back in amongst the bare trees. It can be aided, yes, by moving the plants whole from elsewhere, but that is merely shifting the problem.

With the information given to them by the Ashen on how best to keep these hairy animals, an agricultural education is given to those families who now own them. These beasts cannot be left to do as they please, or they will eat all manner of things, including the seemingly inedible. Their diet should be controlled so that they are not only healthy but productive and that their produce, especially milk, not be heavily flavoured. Goats should never be fed wild garlic, nor the strong herbs which are used in medicine, for it gives the milk & meat a bitter taste. In time more lessons will be learnt, but the basics are understood throughout.
Barrack-Burrows spring up all along the front line, where the Flesh may be watched day & night. Lithe serpents are given the task of relaying messages to and fro from these burrows, any piece of information could be vital, no matter how trivial it seems now.

With Tarnic help, who in turn draw on Soghoian principles, aid the B'oo in the fabrication & laying of irrigation pipes, grates, and all manner of hydraulic wonders, so that their eastern wall may be completed without affecting their farms. There is seen a minor decrease in yields, but this is nothing to worry or shame about. With this new found sense of amazement at the prospect of the underground, the B'yogi build for themselves a research station beneath the earth.

>Vossiks
The efforts of the priests and labourers continue unabated, seemingly a rarity for the Elves. There is constant chatter of some upcoming Nomachian rebellion, but no actual evidence; Life is for once peaceful for Elezen and Hacmos alike. Three grand aqueducts, and along them many small reservoirs, are erected in the north-eastern farms and Nomach. From them all may draw water freely.

DIPLO
>>4055941
The Redcaps, who call themselves the Tallaght, prefer to live amongst the trees where they may hunt and feed at will. They enjoy the ale, and live goats the Dwarves have, along with the sweet things they offer. They care for neither work nor craft, even their clothing they had scavenged. As for goods, they quite liked the shining, clinking coins the Ashen had given them, though for use as some sort of game they cannot explain. But of most joy to the Redcaps, were the Ashbeards weapons and tools of iron, something they were drawn to somehow innately.

>>4056423
The Soghoians ask only that they be kept abreast of all action involving the Snakes. As to the request to build a temple, it is given, with the caveat that the ranks of the priesthood be filled primarily with the Soghoian believers of the faith, and not solely the Depauns. A second caveat is added after some discussion, that tithes and such be used within Soghoia to better the lives of the Frogfolk.

The Nucklavee and its flesh carriage born by Rut'ra guard and attending priest travel along the vein to [pentagon], where they disembark and trek through the swamps and lands of the Karnis once introducing themselves and being welcomed. In order to study the specific properties of the slime at the source; the Nucklavee is settled upon the walls edge, where proto-type Gastric Casters spray a Cravic salt blood solution upon the surface of the slime. After being weakened, bone plated veins with slurping maws descend into the corrupted slime pool.

The caustic altered slime is placed into bone cauldrons settled into the flesh tumor, which heals from the other side as the slime eats away. While it is a stop measure, it allows for greater experiments to come. The tumor is named Ingil'dra (Pumping Station)

The Dwarves are welcomed in Volodek. As they had once traded with the Nomach they are treated no less similarly in the new city. The leaders there explain that the rules for traders are few. There is a foreign district in the city for traders to reside in, and within the confines of their compounds it is their laws that rule. The only real request is that religious customs be observed and respected. Feast days are observed and that religious tokens and scripture be limited to the diplomatic compounds and not expressed outside of them. Otherwise, trade is free with limited tariffs or customs duties being imposed upon imports. Volodek itself is the end of one arm of the Vossik industrial sector. Combined with its own agricultural production upriver the markets are full of goods from exotic jungle fruits carried at great length from the other side of the mountains, to well made steel tools and gorgeous metalwork. In Volodek the Dwarves can find a district dedicated in the Elven fashion to high art and tailoring. It is one of the few places in which dyed cotton clothing can be found in abundance. The newcomers both (>>4056328) and (>>4040681) are given similar treatment, and a space within the foreigner quarter to reside to trade their wares. >Action 1: Gnavkop

The family line of Grugnir Gnavkop has been heavily pruned in recent years, with his son Glon meeting his end at Goblin claws, and then Grugnir himself falling when the beasts were challenged to give battle for their sins. Krignir Gnavkop, younger brother to Grugnir, was at the head of the column that descended upon the Redcap camp. But with the Redcaps themselves taken away from the Gylden borders, the house of Gnavkop found nothing in the taken lands to avenge themselves upon to atone for their grudge. Instead, they lingered, searching and finding little, not even the Tarnic bones that might have proved some link to the vanishing. With brother and nephew un-avenged, Krignir cannot fulfil his oath, and as the weeks go on he comes to recognize this. Honour forbids the return to the family farm; as indeed does the loan he took against it as finance for his part of the expedition. No, there is nothing left in the north for the Gnavkop line.

Instead, he journeys further south, crossing the river near to the camp remnants. Here, in the furthest reaches of the bitter south before Snehvid's Icy fingers rise to linger on the land, he will found a new town - for those of his clan, his family, and for any others who give great voice and credence to the rites and practices of Gnaven; in Guldfar's light or beyond it. Named simply Gnavkop, the town grows up upon the southern bank, downriver from Kirurlag. The land is not the good farming soil he once knew - and mortgaged for helms and shields - but as it lies outside of Snehvid's grip, he is sure there will be some minor gift or facet he and his family could farm or herd or hunt. And if nothing else - there are fish in the rivers, fish in the sea, and ample wood all about...
>Action 2: Further Roads

Plans for new roads are set fourth; a trade road to link to the Vossik lands, and a continuation to carry along up the Gylder and link the towns of hills and rivers; as well as to ease the flow of Coal and Iron to Steel. The King, his once-golden beard turned purest white with age, calls in his council for a debate to determine which roads are most essential and what can be afforded.

The crew of the LCL Teithiwr would be relieved to see people in Môr y tywod. However, despite initial hopes that these were one of the remnant peoples, it would sooner rather than later be dashed when they found the city and saw the ships in harbor, and all but confirmed when they docked and initially tried speaking with them. They'd primarily have Rhisiart Tudor try to establish communications, and he'd attempt to utilize the Remnant language as he and the rest of the crew would call it, in the hopes to explain who he was and who they were. If someone who could understand that language, likely someone who originally was in the north or some such similar would be able to hear the following explanation. "My name is Rhisiart Tudor, from Clan Tudor. I and the others with me are the crew of the Llong Clan Llewelyn Teithiwr, or LCL Teithiwr. Our primary goal is to find the Remnant people of the north, however we found you first. We come from the south from our home, Llychlyn, specifically the city of Lunedannedd. I am unsure what most of your fellow's are saying, and hope to translate your language to make communication easier between us now, and any future Children of Fanw who come here. Despite what you might think as I'm the one primarily doing communications, I am not actually the leader of this expedition, that would be Neifion Llewelyn. I am merely the translator."

If this failed, he'd try and go through some of the similar steps that were taken with the Remnant people, first attempting to state his name and then going from there to try and explain different words. Hopefully this wouldn't be necessary, as it would certainly be more time consuming than if they had someone who could speak the Remnant language, but at least if that was the case a member of Clan Howell wouldn't have any credit for the translation. Though, that last thought was more joking in his mind than serious.

1. Improve "Ironclads"

2. Use the compound we have already to create handheld and catapult launched firebombs.
>>
>>4061566
There was certainly some degree of initial difficulty with communication as Andrethi was rarely spoken in the republic at all and rarer still that far southeast. There was legitimately only one person in the city that could speak it. A human scholar that had moved to Volodek from Terrrata to study Hacmosi philosophy. Through him the two groups could communicate. More effort was made at the insistence of the local authorities for some members of the Tudor delegation to learn Elven to communicate with the wider international community in the city.
>>
>>4064261
You mean you don't speak Human Standard at all, whatsoever. You never made any action to learn it, and neither have I made any action in reciprocation to teach it to you. Fuck outta here with that metagame bullshit man.
>>
>>4064261

Despite the initial difficulty, once they actually found that there was one person who could speak it, Rhisiart would swiftly agree to work on learning their language as to be able to more easily communicate, however the captain, Neifion, would be swift to explain who they were to the people in a similar way to Rhisiart's first attempts, however obviously making it clear he was captain and clarify a few things. Of note, over two quarters of the ships crew were Clan Llewelyn, with the rest being from Ciwed and Teulu clans with only five exceptions, that being Rhisiart and four Clan Wynn guards. He'd try and ask where exactly the 'remnant' people were, and though his descriptions of them, its fairly easy to tell who exactly the ship was looking for. However, he's stated he's content to stay in port for the short time being so Rhisiart could do his thing and translate, provided they could stay for a while of course.

In Llychlyn, with the temple of Lunedannedd built, the work in the city returns to the docks. However, with the temple complete a decent amount of the workers end up visiting the temple in their spare time to get away from the smell of fish and have a nice change of pace. For some however, the smell of the sea and docks seems almost like a natural part of life in Lunedannedd, and after enough time, they only really notice the smell after leaving the vicinity of the docks. Still, work is done to expand them further, adding more cranes and making the port a proper one for the fishing ships that were made. Not only would this be useful in the short term for helping the fishing ships unload their cargo, and they'd also help build the infrastructure needed to make shipbuilding en mass for larger ships like the Teithiwr more viable, and by extension, trade ships, as chances were, the remnant people of the north were likely to be fairly lucrative traders.

Meanwhile, in the north, Rhisiart would continue his work to try and translate the language of the Tywod Elves as they'd be currently referred to. He would work slowly on the translations, writing down the translations and the way their language worked in a spare empty journal he had. He planned on properly finalizing the translation of the Remnant people with one journal that already had a decent amount of words written in it, but he kept a few spares in case they found other people on the way or needed to dock for any reason. Seems his preparation just in case came in handy...

>Action One. Expand the docks of Lunedannedd.

Action 1:
The many ships of depau have remained almost entirely the same since their very inception. But the changing tides of trade and calls for more economic efficiency have finally stimulated a solution from the ruling class of Amplect. Instead of simply creating yet more ships whose profit margins would grow thinner and thinner, and whose crews could not be used for other purposes the Depauns will be modernizing their merchant fleet using their most wonderful shipyard. All of their trade ships are to be taken into port one at a time, they are to be partially disassembled and refined using what has been learned about ship design from our trade partners (mostly the tarn). Their hulls will be fuller, being capable of holding much more cargo per crewdrake.
Their hulls shall be more streamlined, with less emphasis on the ram due to the trade ships being more designed for speed and hold than combat. Along with this they shall be capable of being repaired on the go, with more care being put into stopping barnacles from covering the hull with temporary repair tools and parts being put into storage in case of damage, with full replacements ready to be put into place in the shipyard.
Better drainage systems are also put in place in order to make potential dives more efficient while better cargo containers (fairly airtight metal containers alongside some solutions made from the shells of the larger nautilus’s found in the deep) are also introduced.
The ways in which cargo are unloaded is also refined, with a large openable trap door being ready to open in order to move the new mostly metal containers out of the ship and onto land through flying and cargo moving rafts, with readily erected stands also being included in a container so that the market can look nicer in areas where one is not already available.
>upgrade all ships using the shipyard

Action 2:
The current samples we have gained will have to be enough for now, lest we stir the hornets nest to much. Thus we are off to look for a counter to their unconventional biology. The stories of the past tell of all strange monsters who do not follow the rules of nature being countered by either magic or specific substances which are an anathema to their vile forms. Since we do not expect to be able to train an entire army to be fully adept in offensively efficient magic we shall instead go looking for a substance to counter them among our resources.
But perhaps before we get started we should find something which has the potential to be an extremely good weapon against any potential larger beasties...
Down in the south, north of the former narsics and around the area where the disastrous first contact dragons fly through the skies, their goal: slay a gaunt man and extract its extremely corrosive blood for testing. They shall be hunted using two techniques, firstly there shall be an attempt to use special traps which have holes at the bottom under which a variety of viles of different materials sit (the materials used include, lead, iron, steel, glass, volcanic glass, copper, bronze, tin, wood, nautilus shell, cut stone and clay) ready to be filled with the spilled blood of whatever dull gaunt man decides that it would be a good idea to try.

>>4065279
The other will be an attempt to try out our recent weapon’s innovation which was produced for use with our military. These two related weapons have been deemed as the “air hook” as its design is similar to a fishing hook, or the “Air Chain Mace”, as it is like somebody placed a mace head at the end of an incredibly long chain. Although the names “sky anchor” and “iron kite” are often used in its place due to the issues such a weapon can often fall to, which mostly include getting caught on something extremely heavy (such as a strong tree) and being limited to flat terrain, although the getting caught part is what is most scathing.
Both weapons consist of one or more chains (one thick chain is preferred but multiple smaller ones can be used if one needs to make one quickly) connected to either a many sided hook like device (called a “hook flower) or a round sphere either smooth or covered in pegs or fat spikes. (spikes which are to short and thick to penetrate) A variant is also in use which is essentially a metal wheel, although the ye
The weapon is designed to be used on relatively open terrain, with the Air Hook being used on humanoid sized targets. The key to using it effectively is the art of ratting out, by a variety of means (burning them out, fear campaigns, breaking their lines and threatening their supply zones)
All troops are equipped with many viles just as the traps are and they travel in groups of 8. Not all troops are equipped with sky chain weapons as most have either bows and swords or are using war scythes and shields. All of them have been briefed on what is known of these creatures using the recorded stories of their encounter.

>1: train the ground squirrels to pass notes between burrows
Nobody suspects the ground squirrel of being a messenger! At least, not when it comes to our enemies and foreign allies. These squirrels are sent between Frontline burrows with blank test notes strapped to their backs, to make sure that if one escapes, no vital information will be given out.

>2: start constructing a wall at the border
Despite our attempts at creating burrows making us feel much safer, we determine that it's still not enough. Those beasts of writhing flesh could easily wander over the border, undeterred until our troops detect them. And so, to nullify the chance of a misunderstanding, we begin the construction of a wall that lines our entire border with the flesh. If they wish to come in and speak on peaceful terms, they can do so at the wall. In case they decide to attack directly, the wall is constructed in front of our line of bunkers. A few bunkers cut under the wall, allowing for flanking routes, if need be.

>Ashbeards
Mindful of the Gyldens' general distrust of these so-called "Emerald Kin", the Ashen site them a good distance from their southern territories. When asked what shelter they required, they laughed in their fiery way. "Give shovel, save hands" their only request. Well, that and ale. And thus they were once more within the forest, flickering between the trees. The Dwarves cleared for them a carving, much like the one they had made contact in, and set for the Tallaght tables and benches. The Redcaps caught many things within the forest, offering the first choice to the Ashbeards stationed there. Feathers, furs, and hides of innumerable species, tooth and talon also. Much of the meat they bring is, slightly gnawed on. Sometimes they bring finished goods, ones too fine for their brutish minds, ones of Tarnic designs. Rarely they bring a small gem or two, of [CHOICE! glittering purple (alexandrite), smoky yellow (citrine), shifting greens and reds (tourmaline)], tough they are tight-lipped of where they procure them.
It is a brief ceremony, one to which only those who need-know are aware of. A golden idol, a bronze axe, a fat goat; all into the crater. Like the priests before them, Therkuunaz grants them dazzling visions of fire and total destruction. It was vague, not the detailed troop movements and rallies the most optimistic had hoped for. Still, it is reassuring that the Almighty has faith in His divine essence to sweep away the scourge.

>Cravers
The necrotic flesh is excised from the Mission with great care. In the past, such material would be sent without ceremony to Abattoir for recycling, but the wound is not one of neglect nor absent-mindedness, but had happened in war. The wounded flesh swelled with thickened blood, choking the veins feeding it. Blood and Flesh alike putrefied, becoming a black sludge which wept profusely. The western face slumped in on itself, exacerbating its critical condition before aid could be attempted. The slough was examined meticulously, for what could have caused such a thing! The effect was one of venom, something the Cravers had witnessed on their jungle isle, though of course not to such an extent. It must have been either terribly potent, a huge dosage, or Grist-forbid, both. Anything of use within the rotting meat was long decomposed by now. Best feed it to the Kahro-mill.
The rattling, mute-screaming, Nuck'lavee is drawn through [pentagon], across the plains, over the Mausoleum, and through the difficult jungle, all the while being set upon by the same biting flies that birthed the Raut'let. Finally the gruesome carriage rumbled over the Catacombs, being refreshed and heading to the Slime pool. The sand is harsh on the Rut'ra, suited for grass, and two of the six steeds perish. They are left, this project is crucial. At last, the desolate rock is reached. Given the Slimes insistence on caterwauling, the Karnis had come to call the place 'Mourning'.
>>
>Cravers cont.
The Nuck'lavee is hoisted up the wall the Ants had built, to better survey the location, and begin the process of enfleshing. From this vantage, a bloody saline is doused over a portion of the writhing mass below. At first, hollow bone pipes are lowered into the pit, but these are soon attacked and dissolved by darting pseudopodia. Instead Raut'let are risked with cauldrons of bone, with only a few surviving. But still, sample enough of the living matter is gathered to dump it in the tumour called Ingil'dra.
Blood continues to pour into the oases, spilling into the aquifers of the sands around them, staining them red.

>Gyldenthrong
The hamlet of Gnavkop is founded amongst the towering trees, terribly close to where the Goblins the Ashen called Kinsfolk(!) had long ago made their nest. Shortly after its establishment, the nationwide plan of road maintenance and construction is undertaken, paving many miles, and building many bridges. Alas it cannot all be done at once, and so the official routes are mapped for the future.

>FHR
[R] A team working within the Engineering District have been brainstorming for what may be done to further liquefy the coal tar. They are set on a process which known theory says should work, the problem is securing the manpower to construct such a contraption they are not certain will work.
(Erroneously) Called the 'Ironclad', the metal-lined vessels of the FHR had presented their own unique set of problems. For one, repair was prohibitively expensive if the hull was breached, having to rip out fine boards to replace the sheeting. The sheeting would also slowly rust, expanding within the wood, cracking it horribly. Any lapse in maintenance caused hidden problems which only reared when the ship was leagues from home and began taking on water. For this, those 'Ironclads' in pristine shape are a point of pride for their captain & crew, as every sailor knows the dangers which come with the extra protection. A number of these issues are mitigated with the application of the "Senday Cuts"; which removes the metal in less necessary areas, thickens it in others, along with a countless array of closely held secrets.
In the Engineering District, research is given to the use of the coal tar. The substance is heated until it flows more freely, and poured into a stoneware globe, this is then stoppered with a course rag. When the rag is lit, the heat begins to once more soften the tar, and once reached either explodes violently, sending out dangerous fiery, shards, or shatters less so, but still splatters burning or at least very hot coal tar on the target. Careful attention must be paid to the orientation of the grenade, lest one lose ones arm, or life.

>B'yogi
It is with barely restrained excitement that the first dissection of something large than a fat toad commences. Within their underground facility a group of researchers gather round the table, all peering and prodding. The first cut is superficial, almost as if testing if the corpse is real. Little-by-little, the pale corpse of a hanged man is taken apart; One arm removed at the elbow, the other the shoulder, their skin flayed to display the working of muscle and tendon. It is delicate work, which is often slipped with giddiness. It isn't malice which drives the B'yogi on, but curiosity. Finally the cadaver is little more than a pile of dismembered pieces, some with, though most without, skin. Now the curiosity grows, how different is a Dark One underneath? Questions, questions, questions! Like the veins of the H'yomi, B'oo roads stretch hither and thither, winding and wending as they see fit.

Expanding from the existing port and shipyards, the docks sprawl across the coast until the entire waterfront of Lunedannedd is sea-wall or jetty. As their birthplace is embiggened, the Representatives of the Clans aboard the LCL Teithiwr enlighten themselves to the strange language of the Elezen, who are so much like the Children or Men, but most definitely different. It's a straining effort, but finally messages may be more easily spoken than through two translators and a barely-spoken foreign language.

>Tidal
[R] It is seen by Endocier's successor, a swirling eddy, dead centre of the Glyndon Sea. Beneath the depths it shimmers even to the surface with, something, possibly gold. It is suicidal to draw near to it, the currents it pulls stronger than even the mightiest of the Shelled Krakens. But it's location proves what happened to Endocier, that faithful lass.
[B] Perhaps it is the imagination of a mind run ragged by constant demand, or maybe those Bogies had something when they prattled on about belief. A printer had hung upon a beam of the printer his turquoise charm, a trinket said to bring the holder small miracles. For the fifth day running, the factory has produced a single extra book, one which cannot be accounted for. It is the same as any other, misprints, half-prints, even the same tiny ink spot on the centre pages.
One by one the ships are serviced, and slowly but surely they re-enter the market, fiercer competition than ever.

The traps are laid on a pleasantly clear day, their locations noted, and left for fear of drawing the monsters from their shadows. Then for six days & nights the tundra is blasted with freezing wind and awesome blizzards. It howls at the Dwarves in their smoking mountain (>>4059906) and keeps the Dragons out of the skies. When at last the weather calms, the traps are buried deep, and after digging through the snow they are found to be smashed completely. But there is luck still in this, for the lead vials survived, containing within them the corrosive blood. Less luck is had in their hunting by air, however, for fresh tracks indicating they are heading south quickly turn-face and travel the way they came, yet they went unseen. It is not a matter of visibility, for a particularly showy Depaun manages to strike down a white-furred fox from the sky with the new weapons.

>Meluzina
[R] The detachment sent beneath Soghoia have reported a surprising lack of sound lately from the city, which corroborates stories of the northern guard-light being extinguished. Something is happening with the Frogfolk.
Being so food-motivated, and family-oriented, the souslik are easily trained to deliver messages back and forth. Each rodent however will only go back and forth to determined burrows, meaning their routes are determined when they are trained. Care is taken that the routes are not going to be cut off by the construction of the perimeter wall, being built of light stone dug from the silver mine, the odd vein shimmers in the light. A respite of beauty, even in something so practical.

>Sable/Karnis
[R] Whilst excavating new burrows to house the welcome Flesh, the workers break through to a glittering trove of crystals! [CHOICE! Selenite, Amethyst, or Thunder Eggs]
Kahro slip seamlessly into the Karnis hive, "for are they not our sister?" Ask the Ants. "Aye" comes the answer. The Noble Matriarch births the beautiful Karnis, as the Flesh Priests birth their own fantastical young. The Ants see now how wide a picture there is, no longer trapped along pheromone lines. The Sable, however, wish little for the Karnis, and see these Kahro as outsider Flesh. Perhaps they are right, but they will one day die, and their muscles work within Karnis carapace.
Decay feeds the earth. Death, brings forth life. Profound and beautiful, the Karnis see these things more clearly now. Grind whatever we cannot swallow to paste, and decant it over the ground, and with the Queen's blessings there will grow green shoots. Yet not only is the material needed, but its weavers; Crawling, burrowing, curling things, no longer a convenient snack, now part of the Hive! It is refreshing.

>Tarn
[R] Ironstone is an ugly rock by most metrics, but it has it's uses to help build cheaply and sturdily. Yet, there have come tales of shouts and mining deep below, further than the Tarn dare dig for certain. Some call them Bukkas, goblins that live in the dark. Some people are daft. There's a logical explanation. Right?
[NM] Once more the Augursoul is called upon, his boyish face already beginning to line with the weight of his gift. "With the en'my of the en'my / You barter silv'r and gold. / But will it ever sink that thee / May be bart'ring with your soul?".
The Forge of Jakaal continues in its construction; bellows, furnaces, and hammers, all run on the powerful wheels. It is merely a matter of perseverance until it is finally completed, and stands as one of the the industrial marvels of the world. So too continues the Cravic expedition, in need of more than gestures neither can be truly sure the other understands, the Tarn set to work on documenting the Cravic "language" in the Tarnic script. From here, approximations may be made to converse with the Flesh, at least a little.
Deep within their lands, the B'yogi begin to show the Tarn the secrets they have learnt (>>4064577)

>Vossiks
[R] Though it comes third-hand, the Ants, have told the Tyrians, who told the Terratans, which reached the Vossaya, that there is war in the north. But more, that our trading partner, the Sable? Karnis? The Ants. That they are at war with our new trading partner in the south, the Gylden. From what can be parsed, the Ashen (the other Dwarves. they all look the same, honestly) declared war on Flesh? With whom the Sab- the Ants, are allied. But the Ashen are allied with the Gylden, who have actively fought against the Flesh in both the south and the north. Now if the Othinians, *spit*, have taught us anything, it is that there is power in information. And that such power can be dangerous. Here we reach a juncture; Most easily, we do nothing, do not get involved. Or, we trade in arms and secrets, lucrative, and fatal.
A man of the highest faith may send forth a gout of flame from his hand, and not be burnt by it. Such a marvel is rare, for those who learn the secrets with an impure heart are quickly caught in the conflagration. The Lightbringer gives His gifts sparingly, to those who will wield it righteously. He sees it fit to bestow upon the Republic a second gift at the Stones. Tireless observation has revealed it truly is but once a day, or perhaps one a sunrise, it is impossible to say. There is rumour of further magics in the world, of illusions and the production of items from nothing. No doubt temptations from Baluur that the lesser races could not resist. For wouldst not the Almighty bestow these first upon the Elezen? Or even the Hacmos.
Three markets, each based on the same fundamental design, and constructed at the trade-hubs of the Republic. Each contains gardens and public art which display the wealth & power of the Vossiks, including expensive imports from across all of Sigod. The most common piece is of an slightly-oversized statue of a guard in full regalia, of purest Tarnic marble, inlaid with Sable jade, his signet ring a real Nomachi diamond, and picked out with finest worked gold. The likeness in Terrata even sports a Tyrian cotton cloak, dyed in Gylden-blue. It is the most powerful symbol of affluence one can imagine.

At first sight of the new creatures, the crew recoils as one. Many are immediately sick, others instinctively lowering themselves into a fighting stance. Though the captain himself shows no external sign of discomfort, the exquisitely carnivorous senses of the Cravers detect his pulse beginning to rise. It’s clear that the Craver’s natural appearance is unappealing to these new people.
After a brief set of introductions, both sides grant gifts to the other. The Tarns provide gifts of jewelry, furs, and cooked fish. The Cravers provide a few more bone maps of the area, as well as a passable imitation of a human hand, twitching as though freshly amputated. This last gift causes quite a stir, with even the captain demanding an explanation. The Cravers point to a deckhand, who had lost a hand on the voyage here. Putting two and two together, the deckhand leaps forward, fighting off his crewmates for long enough to grasp the hand and bring it close to his hand. A loud sizzling noise is heard, and when the crowd disperses, the hand is grafted on to the deckhands right hand. This new nation will be interesting indeed.

The extensive damage to the Flesh Mission was left unnoticed, and must be repaired post haste. For who could dare declare something a holy place when it is rotting at the seems.

With the shipyards and ports of Lunedannedd properly expanded, focus is turned to other things. Eheubryd finally would start work on their special little project, a great university in the heart of Allfshys. This Prifysgol frenhinol Allfshys, also known as Prifysgol Frenhinol Cadigan, would be constructed to be a great place of learning, with a massive library, numerous places for the scholarly to work, and places for those same people to teach others their craft and findings. It would provide a centralized place for Clan Tudor to do their work and would provide a place Eheubryd would love to visit every so often when they had the time. She would put a lot of effort into the design, almost trying to make it her magnum opus of sorts. In fact, she'd work so much on the design that Blodwyn would have to actually convince her to take better care of herself and not spend practically every moment of free time on the thing. Still, it would be a useful centralized place for knowledge of all kind, something that surely would be useful.

Meanwhile, in Lunedannedd, the pick axe made of blessed steel that first struck at cursed stone that was meant to go to the reliquary would finally arrive, and a minor festival would come about because of it. This would actually become a local holiday of sorts, celebrating the people of Lunedannedd's resolve and Fanw's gift of a material to tare down places cursed.

Somewhat related to Lunedannedd, Rhisiart would continue to try and translate the Tywod elves language. The LCL Teithiwr remaining in port, the captain Neifion being content to wait until Rhisiart was finished translating the entire language before heading off. They had the preserved food to stay here after all, and could always trade for some more if they needed too. Dwarves have a fair robustness in their constitution, but even the sturdiest of folk get ill or hurt at times. And with the war in the north, the number of wounded has begun to rise. Dwarven scholars begin studying medicine and medical practices with greater intensity and concern, drawing on knowledge and equipment we can buy or borrow from our neighbors and trade partners as well as our own resources and traditional remedies. Herbs of the Gylden plains and shrubs of the woodlands will be joined with poppy from Tempel, Venom from Meluzina and more as we train medical practitioners with the knowledge of where each will bring health and do no harm.

For word has bought vague whispers of magic in the world, enough already to make many Dwarves reach for bandings of protective applewood to bear and blessed ciders for warding and imbuing. Does this magic whisper of blessing from the light above, or cold whispers from the chill bound beneath? As yet, we do not know, but it would be wise to be prepared to bind and contain this, should it ever come to cause us harm.

1. One thing that has been neglected for far too long was the agricultural advancements produced by the engineering district. Plots of land untouched by farming outside of New Andreth are negotiated by the clans, and seeing as they own most of the land around the capital, Clan Taiida begins establishing farms around the unused land.

2. The Engineers College is tasked again with developing something, this time specifically some form of new weapon, for presentation to the Daiimad. Both Varke and Dzen clan members jump at the chance, and a bit of friendly competition emerges between the design of the thing, either Varken aesthetics and complexity or Dzen mass reproducibility and rugged construction.

The Republic stands unaffected by the northern war. If some wish to fight that is their ken. The Lightbringer is content to wait, to plan, and to provide.

1. Blessed Champions
The old needs of Champions to battle monsters in the dark alpine forests have waned in these bright days of the Republic. With so much stability and wealth the Republic has grown to light the dark spaces in the crags and valleys. Sure, there are still Gryphon attacks and blood feuds that need defending but there are no longer troll infestations or goblin warchiefs that threaten kosts requiring the need of such august warriors. The Church steps in to fill a part of that void. The faith began to employ its own Champions. Warriors of great faith and power that could wield both the healing and destructive forces of the Lightbringer's gifts. Such warriors were few and rare, but well supported by armored retainers in service to the Church. These individuals carried with them all of the authority of the Inquisition where necessary, and all the authority of a Republican officer where needed. Straddling both state and religious power these people technically occupied the upper class, though they came from a variety of backgrounds. They were equal in the eyes of the Lightbringer and all were educated in the orthodoxy of the Church through a proper clerical education.

2. Economic Improvements
Mostly in the field of transportation but also in unified economic policy between the republic and client kingdoms regarding trade.

With our sample of the blue blood in hand along with many supplies of various other poisons, among them three different plant based toxins (a kind of needle from a tree which causes a fever when it comes in contact with the bloodstream, a potent neurotoxin and a potent hemotoxin) a sample of meluzinan venom bought off the black market and two different samples of poison which have been extracted from a kind of stonefish and an extract of venom taken from box jellyfish. The samples are divided accordingly and different pieces are revived in different containers under different conditions. In the end the effects of the poisons are noted and the two most deadly natural poisons along with the blue blood and the meluzinan venom’s effects are catalogued along with how those effects are inflicted most efficiently.

The ceremony at Bothrio was going to be smooth, as clan Amplect was confident that they would maintain their powers or that if worse comes to worse, clan Lyrara would be put into power, allowing them to use the leverage they have economically and now traditionally to puppeteer the more important parts of the administration.
Instead it was Clan Paitoy, the southernmost clan who had so far only been able to have their agricultural colonies as a claim to fame who were blessed by Obadinia. This caused a great swell of sadness to plague the clan of Amplect, as the feeling they had been blessed with for so long slipped out of their grasp.
The celebration was not as happy as it could have been, as the numerous members of Amplect who had made their home in the great city for the most part decided to pack up and leave. Those who stayed did not leave mostly due to the cheap food and free rum. (the inclusion of many more foreign spirits did help the mood considerably once each of them downed enough dwarven ale)
After the celebration a meeting is held between the leadership of Amplect and of Paitoy, with Lyrara acting as a mediating force which helps to smooth the transition of power. The matters of imperial property and clan property are discussed, ending with the ceding of Bothrio to Paitoy, as happened when Amplect took power from Lyrara all those years ago, as well as one of the trade ships of Amplect along with the exploration vessel, these leases will last for the duration of their reign and will thus be given back afterwards. The secrets of the shadow temple are to be shared with members of Paitoy as they will be able to wield these powers as effectively as Amplect once did (as the decrease in intelligence and electrical ability has greatly affected the potential and ability of those who now are weaker) although the Book Factory shall have its secrets remain in place, as Amplect claim that they have suffered no real loss in ability ever since their fall.
Diplomacy shall now be taken over by Paitoy, which means that things might turn out a bit different now... a message is thus sent out to those who wish for war against the flesh creatures... and as well some will be sent north as well, perhaps an inkling of reason could exist in the skulls of these amalgams.

>>4068299 (Diplo - Golden Dwarves)
A messenger arrives in Gyldholm, specifically a member of Amplect accompanied by one of Paitoy. They request that the Golden Dwarves send some of their finest crossbow engineers to go and work in a town on the northernmost island in order to get the Depauns armed with crossbows which could be rewound much easier with a heavier design which would allow the dragons to have a considerably high level of individual firepower.
These individuals will be well accommodated and will get sent to the island on the ship of the depaun navy which is specialized in only fighting and thus is free to be used for this endeavor. In return for this the clan of Amplect will hire out a large portion of their military to be used as mercenaries in the Northern War, these dragons are to be outfitted in attire which would signify their place as mercenaries as the new rulers of the Tidal Empire, Clan Paitoy do not want to officially join the war as of yet. The Golden Dwarves will also be paid up front with a good quantity of Gold and old Dwarven artifacts which were sold off to the trade ships many years ago.

The Island is the home above water of Amplect, the former long time rulers of the Empire. The town is placed in the south of the northernmost large island in the Depaun archipelago, in that area is a dense forest, although at this point its true ancientness is set deep into its interior. If the dwarves wish the lesser specimens among the greatest of these trees may be cut for wood, although the depauns would prefer that they use imported hardwood from the cold southern regions as they have found that those materials serve better in the case of making weapons.
They shall be transported in the (((boat need to find name))))) as it is currently not being used for anything important and is the quickest ship available for use by Amplect at this time, they shall have rooms prepared for them with very good Accommodations including fine Depaun cuisine and high quality dwarven ale.
>>4054684 (diplo - tarn)
A messenger from Depau brings important news, the Tidal Empire, once set under the leadership of Amplect has had a change in who governs it. As once the northerners reigned now the southern clan of Paitoy has had a chance to take power and have taken it, this of course means that their ways of diplomacy are going to change, and with that they ask that the Tarn for help in setting them up in contact with the strange cravers, who Amplect have feared and who Paitoy believes can be bargained with. They do not wish to go by themselves due to fears that the cravers may see them as a threat due to how their northern brothers acted as they had sent out a scout ship which spied on them from afar, which could potentially ruin first contact as hostilities might boil over. Especially as they will be using that same scouting ship as their vessel of choice thus they ask that they go alongside tarnish vessels, either diplomatic vessels or trade vessels, there is no one version they particularly prefer. They also request translators, unless of course these creatures can already speak tarnish in which case they only require an escort group in order to guarantee their safety. Other than that and the good word of the tarn they dont ask of anything from them, and will pay the escorts whatever they would be paid normally when acting under the tarn themselves.
They state that the tarn should hope this goes well as some among them wish for war against the flesh creatures, and surely the tarn do not wish for their business to be impeded or for worse, for the war to spill over into the bay, something which neither party would particularly enjoy.

On top the plentiful harvest the jungles above bring helping not only to sustain the colonies but the storage rooms are easily filled despite the increase in mouths the Kahro add. From below the discovery of Selenite is well received by the Matriarch and the swarm approach the topic with mild curiosity as discussions around its use start to occur. The Kahro are a welcomed addition to the swarm as well as they start to fall in sync

Actions:
- The slime resists. The swarm doesn't look down at the slime's struggle, they find it's tenacity admirable. Regardless, it must be made to heel. In an effort to aid the Cravers and to protect the pipes from attacks, the Karnis construct a series of iron nets that they intend to cast over the Quire. Woven and fastened to the nets are bags of salt, should the slime slip passed the nets or dissolve them. Additionally, the slime is only fed water according to a schedule as to weaken it but keep it alive and relatively healthy.

- Advancing their knowledge on the soft earth will feed the swarm, but hard earth will shield them. It's proven useful to the dwarves and though the form of the Karnis is fierce and mighty, it too has limits. As such, the Matriarch sends an agent of Zaroka to the Catacombs. There the agent whispers sweet promises to the broodmothers in charge of the colony's industrial efforts. Convinced that they too shall be reborn, the broodmothers aid the Matriarch in secret by helping the Karnis scholars and smiths sneak into sealed off sections of the forge chamber. Here they begin the work of designing and crafting arms and armour fit for their armies.

This cultural explosion has left the swarm most curious to explore what other wonders the Vossiks have to offer, not only limited to the material but the intellectual as well. Action 1: FHS/Tarnish Cooperation
Tarnish and FHS boatbuilders swap knowledge, each learning a great deal about the other’s techniques and materials. The two different schools of shipbuilding learn and grow magnificently from each other. Most of the resulting advantages are limited to more efficient and durable ship designs, but one innovation rises above the rest to become a staple of Tarnish construction. Ribs of steel, when constructed properly, can take far more stress than their previous wooden counterparts. However, for now they remain too laborious and expensive for all but state-level projects to make use of.
Action 2: A Miner Problem
>>4067493
The Tarnish council, despite their recent forays into the paranormal, are less likely than one might think to attribute underground noises to the supernatural. After all, they know precisely what sort of monsters lurk in the dark. Hell, they’re even friends with quite a few of them. So, whatever this noise is is most likely not supernatural. But then what else? The Gylden and Snakes are too far away to have reasonably tunneled all that way, and besides, the noises are mostly to the north and west anyways. So there’s only one viable culprit: the Ashenbeards. The prickly dwarves had been mostly silent after the affair with the explorers, and while the Council still kept troops along the northern border, fears of imminent invasion had mostly subsided. A particularly sharp aide had also pointed out that the dwarves were making no attempt to be stealthy. Still, such a tunnel could allow a surprise attack from behind, or even a rapid invasion to take Jaakal. Something must be done. But how?
A solution comes to the forefront with the news of the “rib” construction technique. First, the Tarns will reinforce their own mines with ribs of steel and wood. Next, enormous amounts of back-fill, refuse, and tailing will be piled up in a heap on the ground above where the noise is coming from. Finally, large metal weights will be hauled up and dropped onto the heap. The reinforced Tarnish mines will be more than capable of handling this additional weight, but the dwarven mines will buckle and collapse, ending any attempts to mine there for good.
Of course, such an action will almost certainly anger the dwarves. Therefore, certain preventative measures are taken. First, the true reason for the actions must be concealed. The public reason for the movement will be the establishment of a new backfill northwest of the main mine. Second, troops will be deployed both into the mine and around the backfill area to prevent any attempts at retribution. Third, immediately after the collapse. miners will be ordered to investigate the area and clear the collapsed tunnels, rescuing any trapped dwarves they find. These dwarves will be released back to the Ashenbeard government in a gesture of good faith, hopefully diffusing any hostility that may result from the accident.

The Xycthan diplomat's eyes narrow. The Xycthans are nothing if not shrewd bargainers, and giving up exclusive access to a market, even to friends like the Tidal Empire, would be quite costly indeed. Just a cost must come with an equal benefit, no? The Tarns have heard word that the Tidal are looking into various toxins. If they were to be so kind as to share the information they obtain, the Tarn's would be equally happy to share their understanding of the Craver lands, and provide the Dragons with a personal introduction to the Cravers as well.

>>4066399
Between the warning of the Augursoul and the Boo's own condemnation of the Cravers, its quite clear that the Tarns would be better off distancing themselves from the Cravers. With that in mind, the Tarnish government officially bans the visiting and trade with the northern fleshmind without official government approval. Unfortunately, the cat is entirely out of the bag at this point, and the trade in parts becomes a fully fledged black market overnight. The less discerning make do with mass produced, crudely made limbs, while the wealthy purchase custom arms and legs, covered in a lightly tanned hide to disguise their true nature.
The new demand for limbs drastically increases demand for turquoise, bringing a new influx of wealth to the B'oo Nation. (>>4066445)

-Replacement actions-

Minor changes make their way into the tactics of dwarven warriors, but most notably is the introduction of a new technique.
Many dwarves of war know the power of the voice and use it often to communicate amidst combat. When combined, their shouts prove devastating to both morale and enemy lines, and can even result in injuries, at least upon testing with goat and dwarven subjects exposed quite close to a unit of warriors.
The words of the shout would vary from army to army, but typically what is used is either a shout with no meaning, or most favorably, the name of their god, Therkuunaz which they release with much fervor.

Rock Hurling machines of Gylden design are commissioned to take part in the northern war.
All the parts that can be made in a reasonable amount of time are crafted and sent to be assembled in the northern surface, being distributed to the north and west fields of battle.
To the west the machines will reinforce the defending army in the hills they wish to ideally change the tides either by breaking any offensive actions by the ants or initiating a counterattack to ward them off.
To the north the machines will prove vital to the defense of the resources in the grasslands and hopefully work in tandem with their neighboring vassals and the fort to drive back the fleshbeasts through a three point attack into extended lines.

>Cravers
It is a simple procedure to replace the missing flesh, especially with such abundance. It remains raw, and will require proper weathering to implement into the whole. Neverborn, every growing, has threatened to topple for some time, and so what can be done is done. Tumours, vestiges, and all else which can be removed without damaging the city's integrity is done so. Much of the excess blood, no longer pumping to the removed flesh is used to worm a thick, pulsing tentacle of a vein towards The Mausoleum, that haven of the three races.
[NM] The apes are finally brought under Cravic command, and thrown mercilessly into the Geneforge to be torn apart, analysed, and birthed anew. Chern'bolg, the resultant creatures are named, naked and howling. (1 more action to start them making bone gear)
The Chern'bolg make their nests within the Chern, digging in, in the warm, bloodied sands.

[R] A vision of Fanw Herself comes to Blodwyn in a dream, She is dressed in armour, spattered with blood, and the sight terrifies her. "Hush, my child, be not afraid. I come to give grave news of what may come to pass. The Men of the north, those who are not My children, draw close to war. They themselves do not see it, but it is nigh inevitable. If they ask that you should fight and die beside them, say to them 'Nay', this is no honourable battle." With that, the vision fades, and the princess awakes in a cold sweat, unsure if it was a true vision or just the experience of a fraught mind.
It is best to collate one's knowledge under one roof, or at least copies of it. To this end, the foundations are laid for the enormous complex of libraries & classrooms which will soon become the Prifysgol frenhinol Allfshys, a university to all of the Children of Fanw.

Within the H'yomi, so they themselves say, resides a thing they call a "soul". But countless dissections reveals that no such thing can be located, even the Watchers of the In-Between reveal that they cannot see such a thing. Perhaps the H'yomi are wrong, and this "soul" does not exist? Or else not within the body. Further interview alights the B'oo that the soul escapes the body in death, to join into the "after"-life. Maybe this is another porthole they may gaze into? Why does it always come about that a question brings only more questions? Some B'oo miss the days of a question giving you an answer, and so is birthed a new emotion, Nostalgia.
The H'yomi rafts of yesteryear are, whilst enjoyable, not apt for sailing over the dark yonder. With Dark Ones and the Garnish living among them, the B'yogi set about constructing a mighty vessel incorporating both Hacmos & Tarn designs. A single ship is built in the natural bay of Jubilation, easily the size of the Krakens of the Depaun, though built entirely of wood!; Save for the sails, which were initially planned to be wooden until a H'yomi pointed out they wouldn't work. It is slow, cumbersome, and covered in beautiful but superfluous carvings. At her highest speed, she travels at half the rate of even the slowest boat of any other nation. Yet she is the B'yogis to call their own, though it is crewed primarily by Tarns. Her hold is vast, able to transport at a snails pace all manner of goods in and out of Simhyn. She is given the affectionate name, The Soul of Simhyn, for her very presence makes the B'yogi feel alive!

>Gyldenthrong
[R] (sort of wrapped this into your second action)
Medicine has long been the realm of priests and wisedwarves, more closely linked with superstition and herbal remedies than a rigorous science. But the casualties of war cannot rely on honey and bitter-root alone, for a gangrenous leg cannot be cured with a chant and a salve. Tempelium, a boiled extract from the Tarnic poppy, can be given to numb or else knock out a patient for an amputation. Meluz-spit, that venom of the northern snakekin, is distilled and applied with a tourniquet to coagulate blood in terrible wounds. These and other advances draw the Gylden from an age of apothecary to one of real medical practice.
Surrounded by the beauty of Her creation, Dwarves of a certain kind flock to the Temple of Æblemor. In recent times She has begun to be associated as the wife of Guldfar, and taken on new aspects as the Goddess of Motherhood and Birth, separate from Undseelig. Dwarven mothers pray to Æblemor for an easy pregnancy and birth, but still to Undseelig for healthy children. In this new temple, She also embodies come aspects of both Høfeber & Søvnig, primarily those of the growing and production of cider. Her growing significance draws the ire of some more traditionalist Dwarves, though Her worshippers pay them no mind.
>>
>Gyldenthrong cont.
It was here also, in this temple in the trees, that a third aspect flourishes, one as the Goddess of Magics. Priestesses and Eunuchs are the main drivers of this association, claiming a root direct from the Divine Mother. This is a drastic shift away from the established norms, yet these fanatics seem to have tapped into something. In their worship to Her as The Silver Mother, Moon-Joy, Mistress of the Night, they seem to have been granted a gift; One of protection. For now, they are secretive of this gift, but it will not be long until a blabbing tongue spills it.

As farms are established, it is discovered why the land had gone unused. The loose soil is deficient in growing almost anything but grass. But here the advances of the Agricultural wing of the Engineering District comes into play. First is the introduction of grazing beasts, whose manure enriches the land, and then through a rigid programme of crop rotation & intercropping, the land may be improved remarkably. It is a years long project, but the Clans have faith.
The two clans go about their own processes to begin the creation of a new weapon, something to impress the Daiimad. Almost immediately they are at an impasse, for much FHR military technology is already as perfected as can be achieved. Save for possible improvements in logistics and infrastructure, there is little that can be done to achieve the next great leap. Of course, Varke's horde of ancient arms was the pinnacle, but without propellant, they were stumped. Of course, all manner of ideas are proposed to produce such a thing, but even promising tests fail. Instead, it is proposed to the Daiimad that expeditions be carried out, in all directions in search of new and wondrous resources with which they may experiment. It is a bold move.

In turn, each kost that had produced one of their ranks was bestowed the ceremonial title of 'Revered', those who produced a second became 'Venerated'.
Given the Republics complicated history, it is no wonder that the economies of the three states were not perfectly aligned. A sack of beans should not cost three times the price in Pokos as it does in Dravana. The new FHR taught techniques are brought into shipbuilding of every rank, though those more laborious innovations are left for only the state, and the wealthy. Which more often than not, seem to go hand-in-hand.
A few days are given, listening intently to the direction of the shouting and picking. From what can be gathered, the Dwarves are very near to a tunnelling offshoot of the quarry. It is here the plan is implemented, the collected tailings of the southern iron mine are dragged here and dumped, along with refuse stone. When it is seen the ground still holds, cast weights are added. Still the ground holds, and so more weights and refuse are brought. Save a slump as the dump settles, somehow even this is not enough. It seems the Dwarves are further away than thought, or perhaps sound moves strangely in the pits.

One witness to the tests of the Doomhowl wrote into his diary that "The Jotedkuln'railun, that dreaded cry, is so foul that one can scarcely believe that the army uses His holy name. Such is the din, even I, far behind them, was significantly deafened for a good while afterwards. It is no wonder that the shouts grow louder the longer the engagement."

The Paitoy messenger sent to the port of Soghoia is met with surprisingly few Frogfolk, and those he does see are of greyer hues. He is not allowed past the docks, his questions are ignored. The Dragon is thanked for his information and sent on his way. Despite this, the Soghoians do not lower their imports by much, nor their exports for that matter. In fact their exports of marsh-poppy and swamp-tuber, primary staples of the Soghoian diet, increase; The largest reductions are in finished goods, brasswork, glasswork, and the like.

>>4069903
As all times, the Frogfolk do not answer the first call, nor the second, only on the third does a guard & diplomat appear. How petty the Frogs are. Both of them appear sluggishly over the wall, peering down with puffy eyes and lacklustre skin. They hear the question, and talk between the two of them before calling a response. "We do not wish to alert our presence to the Flesh in the north. You need not concern yourself.". Cynthia knows it to be a half-truth at best, but before she can retort, the Frogs are gone.

>>4070127
Sales to the Soghoians had steadily decreased for sometime, put down mostly to their growing paranoia and developing relations with their fellow water-folk, the Depauns. This slow trade however was immediately brought to a halt by the closing of the canal lochs into Soghoia proper. Guardsfrogs at the gates are look tired, grey, altogether barely alive even! Nevertheless they stop the Tarnic traders from entering. The commotion sends one of the guards inside the walls, and he shortly returns with a tradesfrog. Dressed far less ostentatiously than previous, the tradesfrog explains that the city is in quarantine. He rambles off a list of very long words which ultimately mean nothing, but it is enough for the Tarn not to press the matter at this very moment. What they do stress however, is the debt the Frogs have slowly built, and that it will soon need to be repaid. The frogs discuss in their slippery tongue, turn to the Tarns and ask for a bill to be sent, the matter will be sorted.

END OF SCENE FOUR.

1. Expeditions are a laughable concept. We don't need to send our people to unknown and foreign soil to get caught up in whatever that nation's politics are. For now, improvements to the stonework explosives are worked on.

2. In addition, the myriad of border forts are re designed and updated with more modern materials and defensive works. The Kahad-Sajaak came to us with visions of an unclear future, one where war from the outside may spill into our territory. We must be prepared to force whatever foe dares try to take Human soil lose thousands for every inch.

New laws require all dwarves to be capable of competently wielding an axe by nine years of age (not dwarven years), with tournaments often being held to ensure their basic understanding of combat.
With this, most parents take to teaching their young to craft their own wooden weapons as soon as their baby beard falls out. Once crafted, it is determined their training can begin, this is done as soon as possible lest they receive a fine if their child is deemed unworthy by judges among the crowds.
>Preparing the Young

While one of the few things shared with humans is that females ought to be kept safe at home, the need for such is not so dire given that they can easily birth dozens of children making up for their absence.
Albeit uncommon, the sight of females in battle is nothing new.
Not ever officially allowed nor disallowed, but the unspoken disdain is ever clear which leads to females making up such a small portion of the fighting forces.
New edicts dissuade young and fertile females from taking up arms, but entice infertile females, those unsuitable for marriage, or even elder mothers past their prime to join brothers and sisters in arms.
Aware of the innate nature of females and their potential for destruction, a ceremony is begat in use before battle involving the shedding of clothing and the consumption of an entire keg of the strongest ale followed by prayer chants to Therkuunaz imbuing an unbridled rage to send the most fearsome dwarf running with beard tucked away.

The representative that's most interested in the conflict between the meluz and the frogs, Cynthia Collias, decides to take a diplomatic trip to the tarn lands. She comes with questions, pertaining to the frogs' health. The meluz then details how they've grown more and more reclusive as the days have drawn on. We would offer help, but they will not ask, and seem completely uninterested in the subject. It's like they're afraid of us, or something.
Though last we checked, they had the ability to use fire at any will they wished. We want to head in, yet we are fearful of their pyrotechnics. Cynthia asks if the Tarn know anything of the frogs' ability to use fire as a weapon.
At this point, it's about knowing the truth. The frogs are, or at least were, acting like cornered animals. The last thing we want them to do is storm out across the plains and burn our grasslands to the ground. We wish to speak with the leader behind this, yet he is surrounded by walls. Walls that were built on lies of omission.

The large ant looking things are initially met with pointed weapons, as the FHRDF soldiers move to defend their charges in this expedition, however, after recognizing the general appearance of the ants from the things given to Port Senday. They would approach, and ask in the Trade Language if these were their lands, and if they gave such similar things to a city to the far south.
>>
>>4071880
The barrier presented by the trade language is a little too much for the simple So'Karn to break through. Both sides go back and forth trying to understand the other but there is little success. Eventually, out of frustration perhaps, a guard starts to point at the ground and then back at the ants. Catching on, a So'Karn produces a map and points at all the territories that belong to the Swarm. Another soldier took some of the rations given to them and hovers it over the map, moving from the ants' to their own land and pointing at the So'Karn again. The So'Karn enthusiastically nods, even going so far as to draw a small totem next to Port Senday.

When Blodwyn woke, she'd be concerned. On one hand, usually Fanw's visions are less direct on that, but on the other, she was the sister of the Queen, her sister, Eheubryd, and Fanw has in the past been fairly direct with warnings and guidance to the old Queen and, if Eheubryd was to be believed, which Blodwyn did, the current queen to an extent as well. She'd keep that information in hand, and would be sure to warn the remnant people, but for now it made her concerned on one thing that all this time was neglected, the military. And, in her current position, there was nothing she could do about it...Soon, but right now, everything was focused on the Prifysgol frenhinol Allfshys, and with how much Eheubryd cared about that little project, it would feel horribly wrong of her to actually divert resources from it.

Speaking of Eheubryd's little project, it was going along quite well. The designs which were extremely impressive and, frankly, pushing the architectural abilities of the Children of Fanw and Llychlyn to their limits due to the size of the construction. Eheubryd would make a note to give a revisit to the temple as well. Maybe a new tower, or a major renovation to its gardens so they would be akin to Lunedannedd's own. As while the church itself was grand, its gardens weren't as grand as the ones in Lunedannedd. Still, That was for the future. For now, Eheubryd would simply keep that in her notes and return to the work on the university.

Meanwhile, in Môr y tywod, specifically the city of Volodek, the captain Neifion would be absolutely horrified by the knowledge of yet more languages as he really desired to get on with it, however, Rhisiart would be excited and all to happy to get to work translating the other languages into Tywod and then from there to his own native language. Needless to say, they likely weren't getting out of port anytime soon. With any luck though, he'd write down everything sooner rather than later.

In other news. A new tradition of sorts has sprung up in Llychlyn. While originally purely a tradition of Clan Wynn and reserved for their best members. As of late, the children of parents who pass on have come to commission artisans to work on special stones for them, telling a bit about them and occasionally their most impressive stories, along with obviously their name and the names of both the one who created the stone and the son or daughter who ordered the stone in the first place. Where these stones are placed however is a bit different from place to place. In Lunedannedd, they usually are left in the middle of the woods to the south or north, and rarely in the planes or shores, while in Allfshys, they practically replace the old graves. More minor villages usually go with one of these two methods regarding them, either having them replace the old grave stones, or simply spreading them out so Fanw could guide their kin far in the future to the stones and allow them remember their ancestors better.
>>
>>4071985

>Action One. Continue work on the Prifysgol frenhinol Allfshys...This will probably take a while...

>Action Two. Translations continue...much to Neifion's annoyance and desire to leave. He understands its best to translate them all though, it'll help with translating other languages in future expeditions.

Arriving at the port on the island of the Children was a large, new ship, clad in sails dyed red, with the symbol of a gear, crossed with a wrench and some odd looking implement (A hand cannon). When it docked, a group bearing crates in red robes and steel, masked helmets come aboard the docks. They say they have commissioned goods for one Blodwyn, sister of the Queen of the Children of Fanw, courtesy of Clan Varke. Inside the crates were finely made arms and armor, of extremely high quality mundane steel, as well as things like nails, tools, and other, more utility use things.
>>
>>4072127
Not long after they arrive in port would Blodwyn arrive, and upon seeing the goods would be swift to call for those in the port itself to gather payment, specifically that of a number of finished goods, but mostly raw resources, such as iron and opals, along with some minor amount of salt. Regardless, upon seeing the armor and tools delivered, they'd be quite pleased. However, they'd be sure to go to the captain of the ship, or the person speaking on their behalf, not just to thank them and express how useful their tools and what their armor and arms would do to allow their smiths to better improve the quality of their own goods, but also to give a warning to the remnant people. If the vision was truly Fanw, then they'd not know the risks of war with a neighbor...
>>
>>4072298
The captain was also clad in the same red robes and steel face mask as the rest, though some of his garb was different. "War with our neighbor your Goddess said? Perhaps the Elves of the mountains are up to something again. I pray to our Gods this is not true, though it would not surprise me if it was. We have had a......stable relationship with them for a little while now, though this is built off the fortifications that dot the borders. If they come, they will regret such an action. The clans have made sure of such. We thank you regardless, And may the Gods watch over your people, Half-Human." The term, she would have learned, was a sign of respect for foreigners in the FHR, and their previous government, the FHS. He went on to ask if any other commissions would be wished by the Children, as the forges of the Engineering district, and the Forge-City of Denza are always in use.

>>4069582 (diplo - Golden Dwarves)
>>
>>4069903 (diplo - meluzina)
Recent changes in the hands who hold power have complicated the situation when it comes to the war, as the party who desires to fight, the clan of Amplect has lost power and now have to bend their knee to Paitoy. But they have been given a good deal of autonomy, and this can allow them to sell of some of their soldiers as mercenaries. Although they did recently put a good portion of their forces into a registry promised to the golden dwarves they can spare a good bunch of skilled flyers, who after being clad in colors and with symbols indicating their allegiance to the snakes can be deployed in order to do scouting, although the snakes are informed that depauns can only fly about (1 average tile) before needing significant rest and thus it is advised that any long distance missions they are sent on be carefully planned out, and on such very long distance missions they also will need to pack light and thus may not be able to be incredibly powerful assets against the beasts when in their scouting gear. Although perhaps arming them with that venom the snakes have could make them good aerial bombers against larger ground targets.
>>4054684 (diplo - tarn)
A new group of diplomats, among them the current - leader of the northern dragons - have come to ask for a meeting with those who lent money to the frogs. They have come because of the strange affliction which seems to now be affecting them, which when combined with the recent trends in imports and exports among them seems to suggest that they are experiencing a population decline which could mean that they might go the way of the jackelopes and leave the swamps abandoned once more. Thus they want to agree on a plan for if they were to cease to be a civilization, as they dont want to squabble with the tarn due to how they have a good bit of claims to be had on the region themselves due to their vow of protection for them. Right now they don’t have much of a plan and thus are open to see what the tarn think should happen if the swamps were to lay unclaimed, including what the policy should be when it comes to the snakes who have their eyes on the region and who the depauns do not fancy and do not want obtaining more land especially in a region which once held those they wanted to protect.

"Yes...Usually Fanw's visions when it comes to dreams are not exactly as direct as the one I had but, considering how my mother had very direct communication with Fanw herself at a few times, and how even my sister has had a moment akin to those, it'd not surprise me. Prepare for war, yet hope for peace. I suppose our people have had no reason to hope or prepare for either until recently...I just hope that Eheubryd is able to give me and Clan Wynn some more resources, but at the moment she's working on a great university for Clan Tudor and other more minor intellectual clans. I don't have the heart to get her to stop or slow down her project...I just hope that with all the focus the project has it's finished sooner rather than later. And yes, I understand the value of such a building, but she wishes it to be her greatest work, and as such its design is made to look particularly aesthetic. Still, I thank you again for this trade. If you are the best in the world outside our island, being able to compare our quality with your own will be extremely useful. May Fanw guide your travels and people, and by extension your arrows." It should be noted that most other commissions gained during their stay would be from more minor clans requesting tools, though some mention of a steel of Llychlyn's own would be heard...Perhaps heard before Blodwyn arrived.

"We of Clan Varke are the best this world has, be that in design or advances in technology. We hope that next time we may take a glance at your own accomplishments, so that we may learn from your kind. Until then, farewell." The Varken would remain on the island for the time being, a few of the children noticing after a while they start taking off their helmets, revealing numerous different races, from Half-Awoo to Moon elves. Interesting to say the least.

In Ingil'dra, the captured slime bubbles and churns angrily at it's captors. Gradually it is filtered and stewed in Cravic blood and foul offal. A flash of inspiration comes from the Karnis, a simple bubbling of pheromones and mercury vapors from the bottom of the slime pools to confuse the gelatins senses and force it to identity the Karnis and Cravers as ally. Hopefully with the process of slime refinement in hand, working Gastric Casters may begin appropriate trials.

The Tarn's are very concerned as well. It seems likely that the frogs are soon headed the way of the jackalopes, and they would strongly prefer to keep a buffer in the region between themselves and the snakes. In addition, the Soghoians owe the Tarns an enormous chunk of money. The Tarns had been more than happy to refrain from collecting for the time being, but now that the nation appeared to be on the decline, they are concerned that they will never see a return on their investment. For that reason, the Tarns propose an even split on the eventuality that the Soghoians follow the Jackalopes beyond the pale. The Tarns will claim the tiles south of the river, where they spent a significant amount of capital to help construct the canal and gasworks. North of the river, the Tidals can feel free to settle. The two tiles to the west of the river remain an open question. The Tarns have no use for them, but would prefer they remain in allied hands.
In order to head off a potential invasion, the Tarns propose moving the alliance troops currently stationed in the capital.out to the frontier to serve as a temporary border guard so long as the frogs hang between life and death..
The Tarns request a prompt response, as decisive action must be taken soon.
>>
>>4072563
Two divisions of Tarnish soldiers are moved north from the northern wall, and half of the garrisoned forces at River Reed are deployed west as indicated by the linked picture. They patrol the border, relieving whatever Soghoian patrols remain. Their role is solely to provide border support, nothing more.

Action 1: Medical aid to the Soghoians
The Tarns being shipments of painkillers, herbal pills, and apothecaries to River Reed in order to assist with whatever they are facing. In the event that any healthy Soghoians are found, they are to be transported by boat to Tempel, from where they will be rehomed across the nation.
>If I need an action to do the troop movement, cancel this and do that instead

Action 2: Study the Mushroom men.
The jackalopes and the Soghoians both disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The only link seems to be the strange tribe of mushroom men which lived in the southern region of both nations. The Tarns once more turn their eye towards these things in a search for answers.

>Action 1: Ship Rights

The Gyldholm port is home to peoples from many of the world's races and nations. Both the Deepaun and Tarnic nations of the east use the city's port as a base and stopping point within their own trade networks, and though the shipyards of Gyldholm are busy with industry, much of it comes from trade partners repairing - or, in the Tarnic case, even having their ships assembled by hardworking craftsmen from timbers cut in their homeland - in the bays and grounds of the Shipbuilder's quarter. Though the Dwarves of the Gyldenthrong do not expect themselves to catch up with the sheer tonnage of the naval powers' trade fleets, or even to seriously try; the Gylden consider at least that their Captain's ships should be bought up to the demonstrated naval modernity.

>Action 2: Ports of Call

With naval traffic increasing, ports expand and new districts are opened up in our towns that border upon the waves. Vankung expands her dockside into a true port upon the Vandnor; whilst upon the lower reaches of the Æybler a new port and shipyard opens up; for turning the crafted woodwork of Æblekag and the southern woodlands into new ships for the market.

1. Establish the Chamber
The Chamber is little more than the tacit nod given by the Vossaya to the powerful criminal elements in the Republic. In the long time spanning the opening of trade with Elven neighbors and the constant troubles abroad the powers most able to exploit international divisions were those that were the most willing to take the risks. With wicked wealth some of these criminal families intertwined legitimate business with illegal dealings. It was from these humble origins that the first spy rings were born. Dealers of information in exchange for gold, services, or the truly rare fruits of the Republic. The Chamber was simply a less spoken branch of the Republican government that dealt directly in secrets, information, and pilfered goods from far afield. It was, of course, assumed that the Chamber worked closely with the Inquisition. In truth, they had a relationship that was best described as neutral and worst as outright opposed. Only in protecting the Republic did the two share a common cause. It was not unheard of for Black Hat to make use of the services of a Chamberlad in acquiring goods or access to areas that may have been beyond their reach. Effort is taken to ensure that there is a branch in every trade partner.

2. The Census
With greater unify over the Republic and unified legal and economic policies in place it comes time to actually get a count of how many people there are in the Republic. From short lived Othinians to centuries old Elezen patriarchs there are many who call the Republic or its client kingdoms home, and it's time to actually count them out so we can do things like tax them properly, or ensure that the proper number of soldiers are being levied from communities, or that area which once certainly had people still have people in them.

The meluz see this as a fair enough trade. As such, they pay these mercenaries with Onyx. Upon entering the nation, they will be given clothing that represents our nation's insignia. They don't have to wear it all the time, but it is fully necessary on the field of battle. Work has begun on a hitching station near the battlefield.
However, we are wise in choosing our troops, looking specifically for the ones who can act as great scouts. We also pick a few others that would specify in the transportation of cargo.

>>4071067
>1: construct a tidal hitching station and barracks
Near the wall, we do our best to create a place where the tidal that fight alongside us will be able to rest and prepare for the work they must endure. Though there's an issue with that. We don't know much about the shelters in which tidal live. Couldn't be burrows. They're creatures of the air, are they not?

>2: land grab!
The fishing prospects of Thesi Psarion are great, but we do not have the time to invest serious efforts into them currently. It will happen, but the flesh will be taken care of first. And so, we march to claim the remaining land in the mare's tail before the tidal is able to do the same. We would have liked to claim the swamp territory from these starving frogs, but the risk is too high. This will have to do.

>Diplo: frogs
For the hell of it, we decide to taunt the frogs again. Horace Pepi, the garter representative, enjoys the taste of frog. He's also a mighty shitlord. As such, he calls for another meeting with the frogs, asking them if we can take their freshly deceased. A meal is a meal, after all. Just don't give us rotting and diseased corpses.
Horace doesn't expect anything to come of this, but if, on some stroke of luck, the frogs decide to actually follow through with the deal, the corpses will be cleaned and gutted. Their meats will then be sold in Megalo to paying customers.

THE ONGOING NORTHERN WAR pt. 3

-The Sable Front-
Curious Ants skittered around the siege equipment, unsure to what it could possibly be. As the Dwarves drew closer in their retreat they saw the insects gathered around their weaponry and charged ahead with indignancy, the sudden belt of ferocity scattered the few Sable who had assembled allowing the Dwarves to retake the machines. A combined force of Sable & Kahro begin a march from the wall, forcing the further retreat of the Ashen into their hills, behind hasty defences, all the while Caelum pelted them with stones. Incensed, the Dwarves unleash a hail of bolts upon their attackers, whilst engineers assemble the rock-throwers & Odeutrkarene for better offence. The Swarm pours from the jungle, spitting formic acid, burning the skin & hair, and are met with cascading rocks. Ants are crushed, Dwarves are scarred, the Swarm returns to the safe cover of the trees. The flying Ants continue their harassment from the sky, until one is obliterated by an Odeutrkarene shot, sending them fleeing home. East of the battle, Gylden join with their brethren at the farms of Tula'krel, constructing a simple stone wall, at least enough to slow the tide. Likewise, Meluz further east patrol their border, in defence of their clutches.
Utilising the collected "Maps of the Underground", the Silver-beards roughly locate the Ants' tunnel, at least in the mountains. Along it's length, they begin a consorted effort to destroy this venture. Throughout its length, Dwarves crack the ceilings of the tunnel, dropping stone and bolt on the crazed bugs below. Having learnt nothing from the loss of previous attempts, some of the half-men drop into the midst; Whilst some take out a handful of ants, all who are foolish enough to descend are met with the same fate, that of being torn apart still living. Still, such disruption shows the Ants that their tunnelling skills are matched, and as such will not be the stealth route they had hoped. Moreover, with such a holey ceiling, their movements are always being watched, their workers constantly picked at.

-The Flesh Front-
The newly birthed Rut'ra, hardened within Nu Bulargh, are sent on their first assault; to charge through guards and patrols, straight into the farmlands below. They are attacked as they gallop, thinning their outer flanks, but they are not stopped. They race o'er the charred waste, hooves sending up about them soot & ash. At last they reach the pitiful Gylden wall, casting it down with ease. With a clear line of sight, the readied guards upon their rock-hurlers loose, hurling waste-rock into the pack, crushing at least a dozen. Undeterred, the wave of Flesh sweeps down into the farms and mines, trampling all in their path, even those hit limp on. The few armoured Ashen kill as many as they can, but they alone cannot quell the herding. The horse-beasts kill a great many, trashing all but one of the stationed rock-hurlers, though each Dwarf fights valiantly to his end, before he is crushed to red paste in the fallow. More and more come, wilting any Dwarven resistance; For as one monster is cut down, another tramples over his slain kin. It is a bloodbath, the fields are stained red. Having never witnessed such carnage, the Meluz can do nothing but watch as the horror unfolds else be cut down like their Dwarven lords. When at last the stampede is ended, the Dwarves may destroy the rampaging creatures. With hoe and pick they go about avenging their fallen. It is a gruelling battle, but one which sees the Rut'ra forces killed. There is calm for only so long, for three hulking forms of dead Flesh clamber into the town, razing whatever they find. In their bodies are stuck Dwarven spear and bolt, so vast they do not seem to care. Behind them trails a horrible digestive slurry, fouling the earth. Rotten masses slough from the creatures, splattering wetly on the ground below. Neither crossbow nor thrown axe slows them, even the remaining rock-hurler can do nought be agitate the beasts; their faceless, mindless bodies dragging across the plain, seeking only to tear down the works of the superior races. The monsters reach an outlying barn, Ashen stare on in horror as the whole thing is devoured(?), the masses of putrescence slamming themselves down against the wood, revealing their undersides; A horrid, twisted maw, ever-consuming. In their wake they leave only disgusting mounds of barely digested matter. The Dwarves panic, 'What can be done to stop them?!', that is, until the beasts begin their assault on a phosphate store. As they advance, there is a bright flash as fire erupts all around them. They bubble, spit, and char, as if made of tinder, and fill the air with putrid smoke and a foul & piercing cry. The Ashen weep with joy at such a divinely ordained sight.

>FHR
The members are disheartened, had an expedition not already been sent north to acquire exotic plants? Had too, not once an expedition been sent south many moons ago? The whims of the Daiimad are fickle indeed. No matter, they will do as they are instructed, iterating on the design of thrown explosive. Thinner shells were the first improvement, which while more fragile in handling, more readily exploded when ignited. A more sadistic addition was that of half a handful of roofing nails, which should dramatically increase collateral damage. On a more humanitarian note, filling the shells with water instead, creates an effective fire-suppressant.
The numerous border outposts are more properly fortified, with four receiving a particular attention given their strategic positions. The Shadow creatures of the south, and the Elves of the east, are each watched over by two of these new forts. Of the B'yogi, one overlooks their bay, where a massive ship has recently been constructed, and one stands in the hills to survey their other activities. To the Elves, the first monitors travel in the north, whilst the second watches from a clearing for movements in the Onkankan Hills.

>Ashbeards
The attack on civilians in the Northern War prompts the Ashen to train and arm their entire nation, even if only with a cudgel. Not a single Dwarf should be found without defence of himself and his home, no matter his age. Likewise, those women who were unfit for marriage and motherhood are welcomed into the military fold as a new, special, unit; Zavagk'vand, Wild Women. The menopause of the women of the race of Men are one thing, but the fierce heat which burns away inside a female dwarf can drive her to outrages feats.

>Llychlyn
[B] On the forested eastern shore, a battered crate is discovered. The wood is pale, but surprisingly intact. Opening it reveals exactly 8 scrolls, packed into copper cylinders, which have protected them from the waters. Each of them are written in two scripts, one being constant, the other changing between scroll, all indecipherable. >>4074660 to ruin the surprise, they're Depauns transcriptions of 8 of the languages they had learnt, and were being carried on the Endocier when she was cast into the Gyre.
[D] Some within the fishing village home to the Remnant Peoples, have become ill. First, a soreness of throat, a shortness of breath, coughing in the night. Then, itching all over, a swelling of the airways, night after night of restless sleep. Before finally blood with the cough, vomiting, and for the weakest among them, death. The FHR know all to well this disease, "Elezen Cough" they had called it. The Othinians had brought it to them, and now they had brought it to the Children of Fanw. But it had mutated, the incubation period far longer, the deaths far quicker. An autopsy, if it were to be performed, would show a build up of fluid within the lungs.
>>
>Llychlyn cont.
A section Eheubryd's grand design called for a great open space. and though she had learnt much from heading & overseeing the construction of her previous works, her knowledge of the limits of architecture had yet to solidify. When models were made of said section, they would invariably collapse, both stone & wooden walls would crumple under the weight of whatever roof was placed upon them. With time, and the brightest minds the monarchy may call, the simple buttresses of earlier construction is improved upon, bringing about the flying buttress. The few dedicated mathematicians of Llychlyn introduce a more complicated understanding of force and load, driving architecture forward on the island.
On the mainland, the scholars work tirelessly to transcribe everything they can of the four languages of the Vossik, though of Othinian it seems no more than a dozen words are known in the south. ETC/L requires little work, being closer to "Basic Elezen" than new language, and a good deal of work is made of Hacmosi. With luck they will be out of this port within a month.

>>4072466
>B'yogi
Built within Shine, and later erected at her Sanctuary, the likeness of the Bone Mother excites the hearts of the B'oo. For some She has become a fourth god, one here on Sigod, though a lesser god than The Three most definitely. Diamonds & Jade from the Elves, and Lapis & Ammolite from the Depaun ships, all terribly expensive. Oh how She sparkles! At night, there is a commotion in Her yard, the effigy is toppled! Her diamond eyes removed! But, in the morning, the Serpent is seen to have acquired shining eyes of Her own! She liked them so much She took them! That evening, She stirs in her pool, then leaps into the dark ocean. The next night another golden treasure lay outside Her temple; A crossbow. What remains is mostly rotten wood, but the entirety of the gearing, hooks, pins, and all manner of other machinery, is sold gold.
In order to know to which space they must turn to see these "souls", the B'yogi should be present at the death of a H'yomi. Else the soul will fly away? dissipate? explode? they don't know. It happens that a Dark One in Jubilation is near his time, and has agreed to help the B'oo in their search. He wishes his children to know that there is a hereafter, one of beauty & harmony. The Hacmosi gentleman is made comfortable, and cared for well by attending shadows, all the while B'yogi priests performed Rituals of Seeing, flitting between places, so many of which they may only glimpse at briefly. When his hour comes, the priests redouble their efforts, trying to find what had changed... Nothing. The B'yogi could find no trace of it. The priests immediately argue amongst themselves of the implications; Were the H'yomi lying? Did they truly believe such a thing? Were the rituals wrong? Did this H'yomi perhaps not have a soul? And dozens more, though the results of the experiment are kept closely guarded, until an agreement can be reached.

Initial tests had proved positive, and yet once the project was begun, miscalculations caused huge quantities of the mercury vapours were released too quickly. The entire collection of Slime not only dies, but becomes even more toxic, having absorbed the poisonous metal. Though the current plan had failed, or else delayed, the new concoction could do well salting the land of the enemy, so that no more can be grown.
Chern'bolg, are directed to dig, and so they dig. Iron extraction begins beneath the roots of Neverborn, deep within the bowels of the Charnel Lands.

>>4072606
>Tarn
Tarnish soldiers are barred from entry along the roads or canals, it is implied that such an action may constitute an act of war against the Soghoian peoples. Though such a war, even with their fiery weaponry, would be quick won by the Tarn, given the state of the Frogs on guard. They seem more limp and grey than before, barely able to stand upright, an off-duty guardsfrog is seen napping in a squat like a common toad. When the Tarns try to explain they are here to provide border support, against the northern menace (though which is left, tactfully, unsaid) they are again rebuffed. When Tarnic boats attempt to dock in River Reed they are shouted off, told to turn back, berated and heckled. What had come over these Frogpeoples?! Not a single one among the small crowd seemed well, they have lost their green and blueish hues, they croaks their timbre. The streets, and the buildings in them look empty, only those in the centre of town, the few that can be seen from the water, seem inhabited. Wreathes of dried marsh-poppy hang on almost every door.
Initial observation reveals much the same as had been seen before; They range from five inches to over nine feet in height. They had white, cream, and brown bodies, two arms, two legs, and large 'caps' of a myriad of shades. The air was heavy in their part of the jungle, thick with goodness knows what. Any attempts at communication is roundly ignored. The shrooms continue their slowly dawdling, pivoting from one for to the other.

>>4072617
>Gyldenthrong
The flagships of the rather lacklustre Gylden navy is fitted with all manner of naval advancements from both Tarnic & Depauns fountains. The Tarn also pass on select knowledge on the implementation of steel within the construction of a ship, though this is deemed as of now, unnecessary. Even small Dwarven fishing boats are given a makeover, the interest spreading throughout the docks. It becomes a fortnight of activity, of cleaning, repairing, and upgrading, of a fresh lick of paint, and new ropes. Old and young join together to share tales of the sea, and listen to the exploits of the foreign traders. The buzz spreads through the kingdom, and both Æblekag & Vankung see their waterfronts brought up to standard. Less important vessels begin preferring the quieter ports to resupply, where the people aren't so busy, and the ale far less watered down.

>Vossiks
The Chamber is one of the open secrets of the Vossaya, though its doings are much less well known. Persons of all ranks make up its numbers, with some of the most devious being lowly born, lowly raced, Othinians. Members of the former noble classes were excellent ears within high-society, for the weeding of plots within the country. Of most use are the merchant-sorts, those who understand the value of coin and word. One never knows if an Elven trader is a member of the Chamber, and within those Elves who trade abroad, its very existence is pooh-poohed.
Man, woman, and child, all are counted, and their estates evaluated. It is clear as the data is collated that the Republic has within it an enormous deal of wealth, almost certainly more than is being reported as the dishonest hide their wares and bury their furniture. Some kosts, or family kost collectives, possess more than some entire branches of government! More surprising is that the population is nearly a full 30% greater than had been calculated previously, perhaps owing to the fast-breeding race of Men who tarnish the north, or the almost as fecund Hacmos of the west, who seem to spawn three young for every Elezen child. The state of Tyr is discussed in great detail, being an overrun backwater of filth and crime; that a plague has yet to manifest from there is a miracle. Nomach remains stable, under Elezen rule. The cities of the Republic each send their reports to the capital, and for the most part all is well; Soldiers are being levied, taxes paid, population unquarrelsome. When the Elven Domesday Book is finished it is nearly a foot deep, listing all from the mighty cities, down to the isolated kosts in the hills. (I can't just give you an exact number, not really how we do things)

>>4073196
>Meluzina
The Hitching Post begins construction, eventually aided by the first arriving Depauns. It is a bespoke home-away-from-home for the Dragons who have come to aid in the Northern War. It's strategic position also makes it the ideal base of operations for the eastern forces. Meanwhile, the hot sands of the Mare's Tail provide a relaxing break from the wet and miserable conditions on the front, soldiers begin cycling through, easing their overworked joints. From here the Meluz have greater access to the Wending Strait and northern ocean waters. Meluz nets however always trawl up hunks of dead(?) Cravic flesh whenever they sail.

The sewer-team also relays that they have heard far less chatter from their position.

1. Kahad-Sajaak priests already in the Embassy send word of the re-appearance of their new-world nemesis, the Elezen Cough. By the time orders from the Sajaak-Khar himself come down to study it as well as practice and improve their healing abilities both with medicines and magics, the priests on the islands had already been doing so for quite some time. What knowledge they glean would be sent back and archived to further the new scientific field of epidemiology. While it appears the cough has changed, methods proven effective during it's first outbreak work still, if a bit less effective, however keeping to hygiene regimens, keeping apothecaries tools washed and heated by fire and the liberal usage of healing magics proves to help. If it was us who brought this, then it is us who shall assist in again quashing this vile pestilence.

2. An error has been noticed in records. The land directly south has apparently been uncolonized. This, rather embarrassing fact will be addressed.

To the ants of the far north, the expedition explains their purpose. "We seek a tree, as odd as it sounds. We have already identified that it exists in your lands, but with your holding of the lands, we of course must ask for your permission to harvest what we need from it. Of course, we can offer trade in exchange, the Elves to our south to whom we hold a pact of non aggression have already benefited from the trade from our peoples, so we see no reason not to do the same, especially seeing as you possess a resource we would like to have.

Given the right training and opportunity, Riggrakzene can be devastating in comparison to standard forces.
Capitalizing on the set of skills and abilities of cavalry, updated and improved methods of combat are instilled into dwarf and goat alike.
Discipline is drilled into wargoats at a young age so that their natural wily characteristics are minimized leading into new teachings upon the riders for ways to organize and attack as done in the past with infantry but now much more fluid.
One unique quality of the Riggrakzene uses the extraordinary ability to traverse seemingly impassible terrain that allows them to both follow footdwarves into areas other cavalry would be unable to go and even bypass areas the footdwarves cannot travel, enabling surprise attacks and deadly advantage over anyone that dare fight in the dwarven hills and mountains.
>Battle Plans Part IV

Combined tactics allow cavalry and footdwarf to operate together with ease to strike and take advantage of flaws or mistakes made by their enemies.
Previously acting primarily as an auxiliary force to harass forces or attack weakened enemies, now their role grows to the point of being armies themselves rather than small additions to existing ones.
Mass breeding and new training allows Riggrakzene to fight on their own should they need, or with coordination with footdwarf and cavalry drastically altering the way battles are fought.

For a time, Porthladdgweddillion would be fine and oblivious to what was going on. A few would tragically die, but they'd not realize the full extent of what was going on until it was far to late to stop it before the plague had taken root and spread past the mere port, even if the infected didn't even know it yet. Soon, this 'Elezen Cough' would be known as "Melltith yr Anadl Olaf" or "Curse of the Last Breath" due to the cough being so bad and the simple struggle to breath, even in the final moments of the afflicted. No autopsy would be preformed as it is best to let the dead rest, however the second the news reached Eheubryd she knew this is what Fanw was warning her about. It wasn't the people, but what they'd bring unknowingly to them. Due to the fact the population of Children wasn't too high, especially when compared to other nations, even ones they had yet to meet, there were some villages completely wiped out due to this plague, and others completely untouched, as for those small villages, should so much as one person get sick, they threaten the entire village. Of course, some would survive this horrible disease but they would be rare.

Luckily, Eheubryd was constructing the perfect place to actually gain an understanding and fight this curse of a illness, even if it wasn't constructed. She'd put even more resources into the project, attempting to construct a new section not originally planned for, but one which wouldn't harm the aesthetics of the building overall. This portion of the building would be purely dedicated to a number of moderately sized rooms separated from each other and would be used as a infirmary of sorts where apothecary's could be trained, and more importantly where knowledge on how to fight the Melltith yr Anadl Olaf could be gained. The reason the rooms where the sick were would be separated from each other would not actually have been done in an attempt to segregate the sick and prevent the spread of sickness, as knowledge on such things was not known by the Children of Fanw just yet, rather Eheubryd planned on a portion of the wing would be able to be used as quarters for the students to sleep in once the plague was gone and the university fully operational, especially those who had come to Allfshys to learn at the university and didn't live there. This was part of the reasoning behind the size of the rooms.

Meanwhile, in the north away from Llychlyn, oblivious to what was going on at home, Rhisiart would continue his work translating, and after the discovery of the crate with scrolls, he'd request that Neifion bring the ship back home to deliver the cargo and his writings to house Tudor after his work in translations was done so that the people of Llychlyn would be able to use the knowledge gained and so, if something happened to the ship on the trip north, their efforts wouldn't entirely be lost. He'd agree, though would say the moment the knowledge was unloaded and on Llychlyn's shores and the ships stores were topped off with food, they'd set sail again to try and find the Remnant people.

>Action One. Construct a Medical Wing for the Prifysgol frenhinol Allfshys. This portion of the project is set to be maximum effort so clan Tudor can get to work on figuring out this plague.

>Action Two. Continue Translations peacefully unaware of whats going on at home...
>>
>>4079610
In the area immediately surrounding the Embassy, Humans in ornamental robes have been visiting villages in the area. The plague seems to not be claiming as many in those areas, though the Children outside the area know not why. They would need to head to the embassy, which seems to have locked itself up for the time being towards the common folk, to find an answer...
>>
>>4079659
Despite being locked up, a minor group would seem to come in the desire to receive help, answers, or both. However, after some time a familiar person would come, unguarded however, and specifically trying to avoid others as to avoid unwanted attention. They'd request entrance into the building from another entrance away from the crowd, wanting to learn what was going on. Due to their common interaction with the port, and healthy people seemingly becoming sick all of a sudden, Blodwyn was concerned she might actually have the sickness and not know it, and seeing how the casualties seem lesser in the area's the remnant people did their work she believed they'd be better able to help her than anyone else other than Fanw herself. She didn't want to return to her home until she was confident she was uninfected, as she didn't want Eheubryd to have to see her in poor condition and worry if she was.
>>
>>4079697
With the front gate guarded by soldiers in different armor then other soldiers they had seen, some embassy staff allow Blodwyn to enter. "Quickly, we can't let just anyone inside at the moment." They usher her inside, and before long she is put in a room with a few men in robes. They briefly look her over, before one passes a hand over her, a slight golden glow emitting from it. He uttered something she couldn't make out as he did so, before he nodded to the others. "If you have the cough, that should help at least a bit. If not, well you'll still feel a bit better regardless." He motions for her to walk into the next room.
>>
>>4079707
Blodwyn would nod and quickly enter the building before one of the priests moved their hand with a glow coming from it, it was curios what exactly they were doing, but she'd not mention it as its purpose was clear, some sort of blessing from their gods. She'd give a nod at their explanation before entering the next room. She certainly had plenty of questions, but now wasn't the time to ask them. Once they were finished and she was cured or simply proven to be not infected, or when given a good chance to that she believed wouldn't be interrupting would be when she would start asking what exactly they were doing and their knowledge to prevent this...Eheubryd probably would quite love to hear all the knowledge on prevention of infection, though she'd probably love to hear almost any bit of knowledge unknown to her... Still, it'd be good for her to know too, at least for the military's sake if anything else, in case a war with one of the lands across the sea started...It likely wouldn't be long before people started heading out to claim more land after all, at least, if this plague was swiftly stopped and didn't cause too much death.
>>
>>4080004
The Chief diplomat glances up at the Fanw who entered the room. "I trust the Kahad-Sajaak priests gave you at least a basic once over with one of the healing spells? It should suppress the disease, if indeed the unseen creatures that cause it are in your blood. One of the only things we managed to save from the old world is that diseases are parasites with infesting creatures too small to see. Interesting no?" He seemed incredibly overworked, with bags under his eyes and said eyes also being bloodshot.
>>
>>4080304
"I believe they have, I'm not exactly sure how it works but if it involved their hand glowing, then yes they have." She'd say shortly after he spoke, pausing slightly to ponder about what the new information on how disease worked meant for the nation and potential ways to slow the spread. "I see...It is interesting. I'm sure my sister would be very thankful to hear and learn of such information. I take it you are exhausted from work trying to help the people of Llychlyn, and for that I thank you. I believe it would be best to unify our actions so we can better deal with this ailment, which shouldn't be too hard considering what Eheubryd is working on as an addition to her little project. It'd probably be a better place for you to conduct your work than here once that section is finished at least. Still, I suppose we can discuss such things after it is confirmed I'm not ill, or after the sickness is gone from me."

>Action 1: Supply Chain Logistics

It is often said that the army marches on their stomach, though this is generally only the case with Meluz forces - most Dwarves preferring to use their feet. Nonetheless, keeping an army on the move fed and provisioned is seen as essential to keeping morale high and the troops fighting fit. The Gylden army works to strengthen supply chains with new military Quartermasters and supply wagons to bring the goods to the fronts they are needed on, and keep their armies fed and provisioned with the weapons they need.

>Action 2: Weapon Versatility

Though the Shield and Axe have long been the staple of the Gyldenthrong warrior, usually supplemented with a crossbow to allow warriors to strike at a different foe, the range of bizarre and horrific flesh-creatures unleashed against Dwarven forces has forced some adaptation to counter their diversity. Though any Dwarf worth his beard will still carry an Axe as at least a tool and backup weapon, the crossbow gives the flexibility to engage and kill at distance, and the Shield-wall remains as useful as it ever was; long, sturdy spear-pikes to impale these fleshy foes from greater distance find a great deal of favor; as does keeping select individuals with heavy double-handed warhammers to really break and shatter any heavier monsters that threaten to buckle the Dwarven lines.

>>4079508
>Diplomacy: Ashenbeards
The request is accepted. Whilst the Gylden lands are not overburdened by mature trained Boars without a rider of their own, there is always a small quantity, and ample Piglets coming through the rearing and training should allow this order to be met within some time, depending on how soon the Ashen would wish rider and future mount to become acquainted and accustomed. The Gylden forces in turn ask the Ashen for training in their more advanced battlefield tactics and strategies; but when better to learn then when the Dwarf Kindreds are already battling side by side against this fleshy foe?

>War Action: Cut the Salient
It is finally time. The Golden Dwarves are ready themselves with Heavy Infantry, Cavalry and some rock-hewing support, and have payment and provision in hand; the Meluz have been armed, trained and prepared, the Deepaun forces stand ready and armed and equipped to put their new specialist flame and crossbow weapons to the test. Now we move together to cut the salient of flesh that threatens to split the Meluz lands. The combined army gathers at the Northern Meluz coast, where it can be supported along the advance by Deepaun ships and push along the coastline, smashing and burning the channel flesh-things with a co-ordinated strategy of combined arms by the three participating races. If successful, the advancing force will be able to link up with the defensive line at Hitch. A few wildly optimistic plans are even made for a push to the river in case the flesh-beast front collapses entirely, though generally moderation in expectation reigns.

1. The Raut'let are bribed by being gorged with blood for the journey, but cradled gently (by Raut'let standards) in a flesh apparatus in their torso, sits a bone pod, much like a seed. When the swarm flies over the fields of gore from the previous battles with assisting Karnis; the pods tumble through the sky before spearing into a pile of trampled men. The pod's end is cracked open, as Kahro wormlings are given the fields of flesh once promised to their forefathers by the Cravers.

2. With the current Cravic-slime batch a portion is separated and dumped into the slime pit, to weaken them for gathering. The other portion is given to the ants to transport for their own purposes.

>Gylden and support
The Charnel Bridge's wealth of flesh from its fishing enterprises lends to more flesh ships patrolling the Wending Straight as traffic to the Flesh Mission increases in the trade of limbs. When scouts report foreign ships in Cravic waters, the flesh ships are released to hunt down these interlopers. Recent demands for fish have encouraged funding to be put towards inventing a new, stronger kind of rope and fishing line. As our current kinds are either to fragile and/or to quick to degrade to keep up with market demands.
Thus we search for something, under the seas and above them among our holdings which can produce some sort of material which is capable of meeting our demands.

An Elven delegation from Volodek arrives in Gylden hoping to open more formal trade relations.
------

1. Update Defenses
The cities of Terrata, Volodek, and Tyrhen Voss all receive updates to their static defenses. New walls are built around the cities, and both Volodek and Terrata are given additional sea walls to protect their harbors from enemy attacks. The walls themselves are thick stone with a mild slope to deflect siege weaponry and to better stand up to the earthquakes more common in those regions. Tyrhen is defended by walls and the four separate fortress towers that protect the northern pass itself from traversal.

2. The Riddle of (common) steel
Steel-making had not been popular in the Republic. The lack of coal made such production difficult and time consuming. With the addition of coal from the Spine the various forges and industrial districts have an ample supply to make steel equipment more common throughout the Republic.

"Splendid offerings for such fine Flora, but there is the issue of antpower. Currently the swarm is engaged in a war with the Dwarves of the South and as such most of our bodies are dedicated to the efffort. We are willing to trade however, which means this leaves the realm of men with the following options:

1) You are welcome to build a plantation in our lands, close to the Labyrinth. You may send humans to take up residence there for their work, but you'll be responsible for them and their operations. In return for this lease, Karnis would expect payment of Silver.

2) We will manage the plantation on your behalf, but to compensate for the Swarm having to divert some of our resources for this cause we expect payment in both Silver and Steel.

1. We will not give up searching for these "souls" H'yomi believe in. Either we will dispel their ignorance or finally see one! Souls, according to H'yomi, are abstract things that embody them. We are abstract things, gods damn it! B'yogi build in secret a sacred ground modeled after what H'yomi, Dark Ones and Garnish Ones, say what their afterlives look like. What if we can trick the soul in to staying long enough for us to see?

Lore:
Nethazar find herself with a rare moment alone. It's busy work being the mother of an entire species, but she doesn't mind. Her children are not only beautiful but they bring her great joy in their dutiful service. She decides to take this time, and reflect a little on the events that have transpired.

One of the things she finds herself pondering is the case of the mad ants. Those that served her are long dead, having finally succumbed to their condition shortly after the first of the Karnis could fill their place. Yet, ever since her rebirth it has plagued her mind. The Mercury was still within her, it was the one thing the Cravers were unable to fully undo. Despite this, she didn't suffer the same symptoms as before. In fact, she felt better than ever.

These were not merely random thoughts, however as the Matriarch had recently started to notice a slight difference within the Karnis. The behavior between other Queens who had been reborn and their Karnis broods has remained relatively unchanged from how things were as Sable. For Nethazar, and her direct daughters it was different. She had noticed that her brood members felt closer to her even when they were distant, and lately she's felt stronger emotions. What perplexes her is that she feels them coming not only from within herself but from her daughters as well. Remembering that she felt the same way before when the mad ants chanted her name after the Mercurial medicine was administered, she ponders if there is some sort of connection between herself and her brood.

"It's strange isn't it, feeling your daughters in this way?"

Nethazar shoots up, it's been a while but it's unmistakably the Queen's voice.

Q: "I'd warn you that it would drive you mad, but we both know it's a little late for that."
N: "You told me that I'd die as well, yet here I am. I'll take my chances."
Q: "You undoubtedly will, I always loved that determination when you were one of mine. A pity that it's wasted. Still, I should thank you."
N: "What could you possible have to thank me for? The Karnis are mine, not yours, and soon I'll remove the Sable from this world."
Q: "My precious Nethazar, what do you truly know? It is true that I was surprised when you refused to rest after your work was done, and turned into this, but you were not the only daughter I had high expectations for.
N: "My work? Expectations? What does that mean?"

There is no answer. Nethazar is left alone once again with more questions.

Actions:
-The Kahro's use within the Mausoleum does not go unnoticed by the members of the Crypts. Welcoming them into the colony, the swamp brood decide it would be fruitful to the swarm to have the Reezwa(Leeches) serve a different purpose as well. Within the colony, work begins to merge the Karnis' natural digging abilities with the suitable body of the Reezwa. By focusing on developing the new cadavers with a stronger and larger maw than normal covered in thick chitin, the swarm hope to create suitable attack dogs that can easily traverse through the earth to drag their opponents into an early grave.

-Though naturally gifted diggers, their work has displayed clear inefficiencies. Occasionally a hall will collapse and needs to be re-dug, other times dwarves will drop in unannounced for an acid bath. There is room for improvement. The Karnis begin experimenting with different practices and designs to reinforce their underground structures and tunnels.

The war has done little to stop Kukusia and Ti'Clika from scheming. Both agree that Karnis should he stopped, neither can agree on how to. Divided, Kukusia prepares in a more grounded and sane way, while Ti'Clika decides that they alone are not enough. >Diplomacy: Vossiks

The Elven delegation is welcomed in by the Gylden, the Dwarves happy to listen to the wishes and supplies of these neighbors. If the Vossik would wish to see more of their land, their Dwarven hosts would be pleased to take them on a journey and show to them they Great city of Gyldholm, her ports busy with Gylden, Deepaun and Tarnish shipping and her busy markets host to these folk, plus more; Silver-Bearded Ashen Dwarves and Meluz Serpentfolk, even the colossal shape of a visiting Cewri giant as he steps carefully through the crowd with a laborious cargo clutched easily. Though a solid-built city of heavy stonework, Gyldholm is also one bathed in light; the blue and gold Gyldenhand of the King's sigil standing prominently as both decorative stonework upon the gate-towers, tapestries and hanging pennants. And Guldfar's grand temple gleams with the light of gold as it rises high to the northeast, bedecked with his solar imagery.

Led into the audience chamber of the King's Council, the elves would be offered a meal, and a Barrel of the legendary Gylden Ichor is breached to offer these guests a taste of our finest, grandest Alcohol. Trade, and the flow of gold across the land, is welcomed by the Gylden; what do the Elves require, or wish to offer?

>Diplomacy: Sable

As the advance through the flesh salient continues, a few Dwarven outriders are mystified to find Ants - DIFFERENT Ants - in an outpost within lands previously thought to be flesh-controlled. Though a number of the Dwarves have seen some fighting upon the Karnis front, these Ants are reported to look fuzzier, rounder and altogether different to the despised Karnis; and so, although suspicious, it is beneath a flag of parley that Dwarves on Boar-back ride forward to try and treat with the Sable of the Sable embassy. A number of known languages are tried, but among these is attempted communication with the Vossik tongue. These darker, fuzzier ants are asked their relationship to the horrific aggressor-breed - are they kin, perhaps? Why have the Ant-breeds attacked Dwarven lands?

The Tarns approach the snakes with a proposal. In a bid to improve relations between the four major nations of the Western coast, they propose designating the two unclaimed tiles between them as a free trade zone. Merchants would be allowed to ply their trade freely here, without risk of banditry or tariffs. Though this would be a treaty primarily between the snakes and the Tarns, presumably the frogs and Tidal would like to join in once the area is complete.

A WORLDLY BOON!
The seas are calm, the weather mild, the rains soft, and the nights quiet. Nature is at peace, even as there is war.

>FHR
Here, so far from their grand temples and relics, the priests find their magics weak. Though vitality still flows through their hands, they find it more difficult and taxing than in Andreth. Nevertheless, the outbreak within the village is believed contained. Most certainly the strict regimens and triple checks of the FHR healers provided the greatest benefit. In the homeland, a swathe of land only ever informally under FHR control is brought into the fold, and the land divided according to custom.

>>4079508
>Ashbeards
Riggrakzene, once only a minor player in Ashen armies, take a more upfront role. Breeding and early training programmes receive special attention, as these war-goats will prove vital in the protection of the Dwarven homeland from outside enemies. Existing, as well as freshly trained, goat-riders are sent to each front, in preparation for whatever terrible plan the Flesh is devising.

>>4079616
>Tarn
With the need for lumber ever increasing, and learning from mistakes of the past, a camp is built in the newly acquired woodlands. Here strict regulations are enforced to prevent a repeat of the total deforestation of previous endeavours. In the southern reaches of the forests however, there is seen flickering lights and a high, hollow cackling. In the north, the Great Forge on the Jakaal is at last completed, its mighty wheels driving bellows and hammers unrivalled.

>>4079619
>Llychlyn
The Medical Wing to the university is erected post-haste, wards and labs and storage, all that is needed to study and treat those afflicted with this terrible illness. Ornamentation is cast aside, and unlike all other wings, the floors are tiled. FHR teachings of hygiene are taken to heart to help prevent the further spread of the disease. Unfortunately, given the silent incubation period of the sickness, traders from those northern villages had already visited Allfshys, and may have already unknowingly introduced it to the capital. It is a waiting game, and any who show the initial symptoms are taken to the university for quarantine.
The intricacies of Hacmosi are catalogued, along with an appendix for rare loanwords. The scholars of the crew may at last depart for other lands, their work being completed. The language of Othinian, they are told, can best be learnt in their own lands, far in the north.

>>4082000
>Gyldenthrong
Carts pulled by boar become a common sight all over the Gyldenthrong, not only for the army, but civilian use as well. These draft-boars cost a fair penny however, both to purchase and in upkeep, and so become a status symbol among the wealthier of the merchant class. With returning soldiers comes news of the attacks on the Silver-kin. Whilst only a scarce few Gylden had been present for the attacks, it was horrific, and stories proved the need to diversify their arsenal.
>>
>>4082189
>Cravers
[D] It starts as a small subsidence, after Nu Bulargh breached a small underground pool. The issue was brushed aside, as the war raged, but this was a foolish miscalculation. All at once, the ravine of burrows collapsed in on themselves, bringing down the iron talons and fleshy walls atop the Rut'ra beneath! Few escape the cave-in, and most of those are badly injured.
(>>4079508) As the fires that had engulfed the mega-kahro begin to die down, the true horror of the battle may be seen. Rut'ra, Dwarf & Meluz litter the fields, many smashed to incomprehensible giblets. This will be the perfect breeding ground for these tenderly carried wormlings. Recovering Ashen soldiers take pot-shots at the flying menace, but even those who fall complete their task. The group drop their payload into the carnage, and make their retreat. Soon the young Kahro wriggle from their pods, and begin to burrow into the surrounding gore. They eat and squirm all night.
Experimentation shows that excessive salt will outright kill the Slimes, whilst in precise doses will only immobilise it. Water however will dilute the Slimes corrosive abilities, and seems to have no upper limit, as the creatures disperse within it.

>>4082266
>Tidal
In the jungles of the mainland, on the border of Tarn and the long-avoided Shroomen, a plant by the name of abacá is tested. It shows to be an incredible material for the production of rope, and even tough cloth if woven. If pulped, it can be used to make much finer cloth & paper, though requires a lot of pure water in its production. Agricultural tests find it grows best in its home jungles, but seems pleased to grow in the oasis sands of Bothrio. Aping Tarnic designs, and with lessons learnt from the Kraken ships, the Tidal navy is updated extensively.

>>4082289
>Vossiks
Defensive works are constructed and updated from coast to coast, thick stone walls and high stone towers. It is also common knowledge that the best defence is a good offence, and so coal is diverted away from its current mainly civilian use, into the manufacture of steel. This wondrous metal is then further worked into the weapons of civilised peoples, sword & plough.

>>4082544
>Meluzina
(>>4082266 >>4082189) Depaun mercenaries are sent high above the lands of the Flesh in the north, scouting the land. Initial surveillance attempts are marred by Raut'let interference, requiring the Dragons to ascend higher. Still, they detail what can be seen, and return with the information to Megálo, seeking treatment for the irritating bites they had received. The Flesh Mission, though this name was not known, appeared to be a site for healing and rebuilding wounded Cravers, and nearby it is the base of the awful insects, as well as a pool of some unknown substance. Connected to the Mission is a disgusting, pulsing vein, which may be the source of whatever foul magics are conducted within. The Depauns, savvy as they are, suggest a covert assault on this pipeline.
>>
>Meluzina cont.
Horrified by news of charging Flesh, and trampling horror, the Meluz double the width of their wall, as well as increasing its height. Buttresses reinforce it along its entire length. It would take an unprecedented effort to even tear a hole in it.

>>4082819
>B'yogi
It is a mammoth effort, the excavations alone take weeks, and all must be done in secret, lest these "souls" find out what is being done. Huge quantities of gold, silver, precious gems and stones, marble all the way from the Garnish homeland, and incense from who knows where the Dragons found it! But at the site of Phylactery, a small simulacrum of the Garnish hereafter is eventually constructed. The B'oo are impressed with themselves, for it is certainly a thing of beauty, and with the application of B'yogi illusory magics, they may light it all about. Now, they must decide how best to draw a "soul" here, what trick can they use? Perhaps bring a dying Garnish one here? Or perform once more the Rituals of Seeing? Perhaps some kind of beacon may be constructed? For now, the effort of construction was enough, these plans would have to wait, while the B'oo catch their breath.
Like the chariot before it, the crossbow is taken apart meticulously, each piece drawn finely so that they may be reforged. The wood is regarded as to what its previous shape may have been, and how to best adapt it for the hands of H'bapi's Wrath. All this is done, and with iron imports, a copy painstakingly crafted. Maybe they should build one of those "forges" the H'yomi have.

>>4083040
>Karnis
It is the first real experiment in the art of fleshshaping that the Ants have undergone alone, seeding a Kahro into the corpse of a recently killed Leech. From there, they graft chitin from fallen soldiers, and tear at the mouth parts of the shambling monstrosity. When the first is complete, it writhes about, showing the Karnis that their trial had been a success. Refining their technique, they are able to produce a handful of these new Reez'let. They make a fine addition to the colonies.
The addition of wooden support beams along especially long tunnels, and the doming of larger cavern roofs prove most effective. In more regal surroundings, jade may be substituted, though these supplies in unbroken stone are running low! Another worry for the Ants regarding tunnels, is there effort in the Dwarven mountains, for scarce few ants may crawl unhindered, always watched and shot at my the Dwarves. Anything further south than the Fortress is a total loss!

(war post will, as always, come eventually)

END OF SCENE SIX.

The beasts of the north will not relent.
Research begins to create a weapon capable of bringing upon the end of the wicked creatures that plague the surface.
Multiple ideas spring up from existing knowledge or theories, a few of which involving phosphates and silver which rumored by scholars to be devastating if achieved. Though many issues arise in the process for numerous reasons reducing the chances of their success.
A simpler method but less spectacular would be simple quick lime encased in a shell either alone or combined with a separate container of water to be launched from a rock hurler bursting on impact to choke, blind, and burn their enemies. Being that quicklime is much easier to manage and produce, it's likely to be the end result of this research.
>Research an End

Employ this researched weapon, whatever it may be to finally bring an end to this conflict pacifying the northern beasts and calming the realm at last.
In a somewhat rushed fashion, the new weapon is produced and equipped on new or modified platforms such as rock hurlers and some variants of sky-killers.
If possible, the first use of the weapon is used upon the horrid creatures sent into the field of gore before the dwarves begin a massive offensive with their new weapon hoping to carry the ensuing battles.
>Realize an End

The creation of Phylactery and implementation of the crossbows has...humble us. It has shown us we need to better temper our lust for knowledge lest it ruins us.

1. With Phylactery in place, we need something to catch a "soul". From what we gather, "souls" are entities of pure energy; not easily seen nor captured. But it is also a thing of faith and we have faith! Our holy turquoise will lead us to enlightenment. We research and build an orb made of our most rare and beautiful of turquoise. Blessed by our gods and imbued with our energy. We must finish this maddening research to calm ourselves.
2. While knowledgeable with weapons, we struggle to truly create them en masse. One thing H'yomi are masters of is producing metal and other goods. For this, we will build the fiery city called Passion near the D'yme river to flow cooling water.

With the medical wing brought to a functional level, the sick with the Melltith yr Anadl Olaf would be taken care of best they could and hopefully able to recover. Of course, the university was far from complete and work would continue to try and bring it up to snuff, a decent amount of work being done to actually bring the medical area up to an 'acceptable level of ascetics' without sacrificing function or getting in the way of the Tudor doctors, or Meddyg as locally called and referred to, who were working for a way to treat this ailment and potentially cure it in its entirety. Of course, these doctors would try all sorts of things, including a renewed interest in the foul smelling herbs discovered long ago. Mayhaps they'd prove useful for something after all. Still, there'd be no effort spared in the attempt to end this, and the Tudor Meddyg would try to reach out to and work with the remnant people's own doctors. Additionally, some members of Clan Tudor would have some Ciwed and Teulu clans with priests, trained by but not actually a part of Clan Howell do some ritual sacrifices of animal bones in an attempt to see if they could gain any wisdom from Fanw.

As this went on, Clan Howell wouldn't remain idle either, working primarily on using the same sacrifices Tudor was getting from those clans who weren't exactly in a century's long feud with them, even if that feud had become a lot more civil in roughly the past half a millennium. Still, they'd search for more spiritual answers, and would also attempt to gain knowledge from and work with the remnant people, although much less than Tudor, considering their methods were much more tied to local faith than a field of science that foreign folk knew more about. Still, half of Llychlyn's most important clans were working hard on finding a way to save those infected, or at least halt the spread. Clan Tudor, Howell, and Cadigan. All in their own ways.

Meanwhile, a particular ship with the languages fully written down would set sail for home, taking the same route they took to get where they were departing from. Rhisiart was quite pleased with his written work, and was curios how Tudor would react to the artifacts and knowledge he had gained. However, when they finally arrived in port and heard the news, they likely would not like to hear what happened. Due to this disease, Neifion would leave the ship in port for longer than he said he would, so that he could be with his family in these trying times, and so that the crew could as well. Even if most of his crew was made up of his relatives, there were plenty of Clan Llewlyn who weren't a part of his expedition after all.

>Action One. Continue work on the university, along with making the medical area just as nice looking as the rest of the building without sacrificing efficiency.

>Action Two. Find a way to stall, prevent, and/or cure this illness, along with ways to counter and reduce the effect of any future plagues.

>Action 1: Forged Shards of Light

On solid ground along the road that runs north-west that runs toward the Vossik lands, the Dwarf Norri Indrag sets up and begins construction of his own forge operation. But this is not a forge for Bronze, or for Steel; for Norri's plan, after much experimentation and a little circumstantial observation and fortune, is to forge the sands themselves, transmuting grains to dust and grit that lie baking beneath Guldfar's gaze into a purer material through which the light of the Guldfar might pass quite freely; a firm but translucent glass.

>Action 2: Third Survey

With more lands passed beneath the reach of the Gylden, more experience in methods of survey and exploration, and more hands with which to carry out such work; a third survey of the Gyldenthrong lands is conducted for material deposits and resources as yet unknown to the Gylden state.

1. Scarlet College
In Renthum a new school is created for the study of deific manifestations. Fire and healing are the two primary arts taught in the college and only the most blessed can manage attendance. The goal is to better understand and harness the power of the divine for the defense and well-being of the faithful. Graduates of such an august academy are known to wear scarlet robes with white or gold trim depending on their specialty and they are treated with no less respect than the highest of clergymen for what they have done with rhetoric these people have done by manifestation of divine power.

2. Tradecraft and the Art of the Coin
>Improve Espionage and counter-espionage efforts
Despite the fact that Inquisitors and Chamberlads are often at odds they do share some similarities. For a chamberlad, God is found in the glint of a gold or silver coin, or passed between the low sighs of a fervent whisper. For an Inquisitor Truth is found in those same places. Where Champions, Paladins, and Warriors make up the oh so obvious arm of the Republic the disguised play a no less important role in safeguarding it. A thick network of informants carpets every port and marketplace. Both parties deal in secrets and nothing sells more than information. Chamberlads and Inquisitors have their means of acquiring information through bribes, deals, extortion, coercion, and outright violence. The Republic is large, it's population vast, and its underbellies many. To keep control of it the Republic makes use of both the criminal and the religious to enforce its will within its borders and beyond them. Republican secrets are safeguarded as much by misdirection and Beria meals as its borders are protected by stout walls and brave hearts. For some, service in these two fields offers opportunities that would otherwise be blocked by racial prejudices. Some of the most effective Chamberlads are Othinians that can pass unnoticed among the mixed populations of its neighbors. Some of the most effective Inquisitors are new converts freshly turned to the Light. It is ironic perhaps that these two groups are the most meritocratic and accepting of all of the Republic's many offices.

[Rumor] Deep within the confines of gambling dens and counting halls Chamberlads meet to discuss Business.

-The ants begin to digg the Labyrinth deeper, in a South Western direction. They try to implement what they've learned to master larger and more specialised chamber construction and to expand their knowledge on taming the deep earth.

The Government of Paitoy wishes to either harvest and bring back the seeds of the abacá plant so that they can use it to produce strong rope, but if the plant is found to not be able to grow in our lands we wish to instead establish a permanent factory for the harvesting, processing and possibly growing of the plant on the jungle border which the tarn own. If the factory is created there shall be a small, although permanently set tax which the tarn may put on the rope which will be proportional to its predicted market price in the tidal empire.

It's more of a barrel, full of venom, with a leaky, metal spike on the bottom. This device is intended to be dropped by our tidal mercenaries. Should it land in the flesh monsters' veins, which twist and corrupt the land, the result will be one hell of a blood clot.

>2: send a force of venom-dropping tidal over the border
This is it. The moment of truth. Meluz stand atop the wall, nervously shuffling about in the hopes that this will work. The wave of tidal mercenaries are deployed over the border, headed for just one target. The vein, spotted by our scouts in a previous endeavor. They are to drop our spiked barrels of venom into it. If the clot forms quickly enough, then the force of tidal is to split off, one moving further down the vein, and the other towards the flesh mission. Hopefully, this attempt to cut a hole works. As the most venomous meluzina are well aware, the blood must be circulated to find use in the body. One vein is clotted, and the rest go to shit. But these flesh monsters are not the average creature. The blood could circulate, or it could not. There's no way of knowing until our troops return.

This request for mutual mercantile freedom is well received by the Dwarves of the Gyldenthrong, as is the prospect of more gold flowing onto the markets; many merchants dreaming of the linking of the eastern and western markets of the world along Gylden roads and our blessed river. - Aiming to produce a reliable supply of corpses in order to produce more Re'Karo (Formerly Reez'let), the role of the Reezwa within Karnis society changed drastically. They were designated as valuable cattle instead, the focus now to breed as much of them as possible, and are to be slaughtered to provide corpses for the production demand instead of for war. With this change in policy, the Kahro could expand their corpseshaping operations to keep up with the supply it would give and the demand war would bring for more Re'Karo.

- Without their durable mandibles and its strength the ants would never have progressed as far as they have, but that hasn't stopped some of the Karnis to experiment with the idea of improving their abilities. Some of the forge broods begin to develop various tools for use by the Karnis to aid them in their daily tasks. Though some of the designs are mundane, the idea of developing numerous braces that aid and compliment the mandibles of the ants to enhance their natural capabilities is born here. Chief among them are designs for various mandible-mounted shovels, crushers and picks for the subterranean ambitiouns of the swarm.

[B] It is whilst performing the tedious daily rituals at the Temple of the Three, that the head priest's mind wanders. His psyche travels through the here-and-there, the hither-and-thither, aimlessly wandering. It is on this shadow voyage that he stumbles across another traveller, no, a whole herd of them! Creatures of darkness, like himself. They show no reaction to his presence, and it is only when he approaches them laying a black hand upon one, that they react. More accurately, the beast he touches reacts, with curiosity, and yet the priest feels his own curiosity wane. His interest however piques, for the creature seems to have, absorbed? his emotion. Testing this, the priests conjures within him his most dreadful sadness and touches another being. Immediately his sadness is drained, and the thing begins to weep uncontrollably. Theory proven. He rounds up the herd, shadow steps back into the temple, and announces what he has found.
It takes a whole weeks work, day and night and in-between, but at last a sphere of purest turquoise is fashioned. It is the size of a H'yomi's head, and weighs as much as a H'yomi too! It is carefully transported to Phylactery, and placed upon a pedestal where it may be greatly admired by the few permitted to know of its very existence. So shortly after it is placed, it begins to violently shake, threatening to roll off its support, and all at once there is a great cry of anguish coming from the stone. Somehow, with some combination of factors, the B'oo have managed to trap a H'yomi soul. So terrible is the wailing and grief which emanates from the orb, that those Shadow things around it are gifted a wholly new emotion; Regret.
The forge-city of Passion rises between the twin rivers. Ready to create whatever is demanded of it.

Work continues on the University, though now it is mostly simple construction, leaving artisans at the site with little to do. That is until it is pointed out that the Medical Wing had been hastily built, without any finery at all! Dressed in cloth masks and outer-gowns, they are led in hushed tones around the wing, so they may see where finery may best be sited. Much of the wards are asked to be left bare, the healers explaining FHR techniques of disinfection, which helps keep dangerous miasmas at bay. But the corridors, columns and many other areas would be greatly enhanced by their additions, the beauty may even help those patients able to see them. They are left to their work, though frequently interrupted by nursemaids and healers rushing about.
For this illness there is found no cure, only the relief of symptoms whilst it works its course through the body. Honey, along with a tincture of rosehips prove most effective in the lifting of the cough, if only temporarily. The quarantining away of the sick, along with the frequent cleaning of their surroundings, and liberal use of relieving medicines, are the most valuable lessons in the fight against this and future plagues. More, a good diet shows to be the best defence against many a sickness, another valuable lesson.

Norri builds his furnace, and begins operations immediately. At first, he produces merely oddities, small beads of clear glass, tinted ever so slightly a lilac hue. But as his craft improves, he creates round discs of the stuff, which when placed in a frame makes a fine window. He continues his work, always testing. In the rest of the Gyldenthrong, Dwarves scour the land, so that, it is said "every pebble was inspected". Now, at the Kingdoms greatest extent, these two final things are found; First, veins of a strange mix of ugly grey crystals, and purple tinged ore in the south (zinc), and Secondly, that an expanse of the northern sands, when the top most layer of debris is removed shows to be a great quantity of large-flaked salt.

The Scarlet College hones the skills of those already most blessed by the Lightbringer, how to best attune their body and spirit to the service of the Republic. It is to an outsider a strange combination of religious, military, and civic education, along with secrets only the alum are privy to. The crimson-clad graduates inspire awe and devotion in those lucky enough to witness them, for they are almost immediately enrolled within the higher orders of the Republic's many institutions.
To the zenith of the Scarlet College, comes the nadir of the Chamber, whose members pride themselves in their abilities in not being noticed. Many of the most astute ranks of the Chamber are those lowly Othinians, especially those of even lower birth, for their skin is ruddy, and their manners uncouth, all the better to blend themselves in to the markets & docks of barbarous Men.

[R] It is such an Othinian, that presents to his associates, a valuable stolen item; an FHR Shock Rifle. As he tells it, it is a newer model, and the poor sap who owned it would likely be executed for "losing" his weapon. The thieves cannot see how to work the thing, how to make it shoot a bolt of lightning, as the master thief says it can. It is an item in two pieces, a wooden stock, and a solid rod of worked steel which bends gently into the handle. One of the Chamberlads posits that Baalur has granted the Men in the west thunderous magics, as the Lightbringer had granted the Elezen fire. (>>4089266)

What had been sprawling caverns and burrows is searched thoroughly, the crushed flesh sent to be used by the Kahro. Once the earth is scoured, pulsing veins set about the creation of a newer, more stable burlargh, one of regiment design to produce Rut'ra most proficiently. The churned earth serves as a reminder of not only what had happened, but of the great power of this world, one the Cravers hope to achieve.

Old forges are demolished, and new gleaming furnaces installed. Chipped & dented anvils replaced, tools refurbished. Streets too are widened and repaved, all to increase work-flow and productivity. They are prepped for the coming orders. The scholars of the Engineering District are hard at work, formulating how to turn the raw extracted rubber into the desired piping. Countless hours are spent on the conundrum, but at last a series of steps is formulated. First they must commandeer or construct a new rolling machine, whose drums must be heated on the inside to melt and meld the rubber into workable sheets. Then it may be cut into strips, and this strips turned around a thin mould of sorts many times. Finally, cloth should be wrapped tightly around this tubing. All in all it will require months of labour, at least in the beginning. (I've done the research, you're gonna need to put in another couple actions for this at least)

Every trick and advance is used in the construction of two new enormous ships, which with sail and oar, swiftly traverse the seas.
It is, through rigorous and complex study, ascertained that the Dwarven mines are located deep within the northerly reaches of the mountain. Given the trace presence of iron within much of the rock, increasing at deeper reaches, that far below current Tarnic abilities to mine there resides very pure iron deposits, and it is this the Dwarves were after. It is also ascertained that the sound of their activities had travelled through micro-fractures within the stone itself, amplifying a far away threat to one of imminent danger. The ironstone quarry and mines should be guarded, and the mountain watched, in case the Dwarves do intend something more nefarious, but for now, there is little cause for concern.

Whilst the plant will grow in the oasis sands of Bothrio, the plants grown are weedy, and produce inferior products. So on the Tarnic-Jungle border, and giving the Shrooms a wide berth, a small abacá growing operation is built. Southern Tidal holdings on the mainland expand north and south along the coast. The hills of Kumursus are a potent reminder of many things; opportunities lost, the fragility of life, the harsh cruelty of Nature. THE ONGOING NORTHERN WAR

-The Battle of the Sable Outpost-
Meluz, and their Gylden allies and Depauns mercenaries, armed with flame and crossbow, march along the coast. Seeing such an invasion, Cravic flesh ships sail from the Charnel Bridge to rout those still on the water. These are Tidal ships however, faster than anything the Cravers may throw at them, they make their quick escape. However now that the forces have no sea support, they temper their efforts. The Sable Outpost, which juts uncomfortably into Meluz lands is the goal, one which is surprisingly, easily taken. For the Cravic & Karnic forces group to defend the Flesh Mission, and the few Ants which remain are the far weaker Sable variety. Raut'let are sent from the north, to harass the troops, but fire and bolt but swift work to them. For now it seems, if the army does not push their luck towards the Flesh Mission, the battle is over.

-The Field of Carnage-
The Dwarves loose a hundred or more vessels into the field, instantly coating everything in burning, blinding, choking, lime. Steam and bubbles rise from the gore, along with the squeals and audible pops of fizzing Kahro wormlings. The field is so thick with the mixture, seeping into everything, that it burns even until nightfall, where under the cover of darkness, Cravic Tenders hope to find a single worm alive amidst the carnage. Less than half a dozen of the scores sent remain. Quickly, before the Dwarves may react, they flee the battlefield. For now, the battle is over.

-The Second Envenoming of the Flesh Mission-
As the battle of the west subsides, the Meluz send their own attack against the Flesh. Depaun mercenaries carry three barrels of months-worth of collected venom, each dripping slowly from their spiked base. To avoid the biting & spitting Raut'let and Zo'Karn swarms, they must fly higher and higher. Though this greatly lowers their accuracy. The first drops his load, which falls just short, as the spike burrows into the earth mere inches from the vein, exploding in a rain of splinters and venom. The second, likewise, only grazes the thick artery. The third, seeing his fellows turn back, after their mission fails sinks from the clouds, lining up his shot. He drops the barrel, hitting his mark. This barrel too explodes on impact, but more than enough venom makes its way south into the Mission. The effects will not immediately be seen, but in due course, the whole tumour of a church will putrefy.

Tarnish apothecaries approach the B’oos. In their homeland, the human body is considered sacred, and defiling a corpse for medical research is punishable by death. But the apothecaries had heard of a land to the east where the study of man’s form was not only permitted, but encouraged. In their quest for knowledge, they come to the B’oos requesting only access to cadavers and permission to conduct their studies without fear of persecution.

Upon the shallow shore of the mouth of the great muddy river a ship, small for its kind drops its anchor into the sullied soil. From it a few dragons accompanied by a cadre of tarnish goons emerge, they carry a banner which is a variant of those flown by the tarnish trade ships, itself an alternate version of the tarnish naval flag, which signifies allegiance to the tarnish navy, while this kind of flag shows more the stripes of a non-combatant trade ship or of the land forces associated with such vessels, put there for the purpose of protection.
In the distance a mighty shelled kraken, the same one which had spied on the flesh creatures so long ago moves about, perhaps in a bid to avoid being ambushed as news of the draconic forces aiding both the meluzina and the dwarves have reached the island, or at least they assume it has.
The lead dragon, garbed in a luxurious jewel encrusted fur coat and wearing a crown of many feathers yells into the wastes in the direction of a group of far off flesh beings, who were sent to investigate the coast where the mighty vessel had been wandering. He calls in Tarnish, his voice booming across the landscape, the tarnish guards visibly shaking from the great sound.
Behind him lay the three other drakes with him, two guards clad in chainmail and thick hide coats, wielding great spears whose trunks are made from young trees. On each of their hips lie two weapons, firstly a crossbow about the size of a humanoid standard crossbow and on their other side swords at least the size of a humanoid greatsword.
The final drake, in the back and mostly occupied with tending to the ship has with him a great weapon similar to the ballistas of the dwarves which are most feared, except this weapon can fit quite well in the arms of one of these relatively huge beasts (although the weapon is hardly as big as the medium to larger balistas used by the dwarves). The weapon is placed head down at the moment, as it has been placed on the boat on a stand.
If the muscly creatures can comprehend tarnish, or are able to get backup which can speak tarnish they are greeted from a distance, with the silver tongues of the grand drakes speaking words of trade and of the possibility of opening up negotiations with the rulers of the fleshlands. They ask for a meeting to be set up on a safe, natural coast with water deep enough for their great ship to roam around or anchor in, in return for not bringing more than a few body guards to the meeting they also ask that any combat capable forces brought by them be in only as numerous as necessary, and for any other forces which are potentially brought to be placed far off, this includes civilians who will also have to sit far off if they wish to witness such a historic event.
In the meantime they shall stay around the local waters until the cravers can come up with an ideal meeting ground.

With the illness not having a cure, at least not one found at the moment, every effort is given to allow the proper materials to actually alleviate the symptoms and increase the chance of recovery is made. Additionally, work is put into trying to find effective ways to stop the spread of disease in general outside of the obvious quarantine. Partially taking from the knowledge given to the Children of Fanw by the Remnant people, and partially taking information about what works. Additionally, in villages and other small settlements, a single Clafdy would be built. A small building usually made of stone which exists merely to serve as a small medical room to better deal with the plague, as well as easily being used to help heal wounds from work injuries and accidents, along with more minor sicknesses. However, despite such work on medical and rural area's, the work on the University would still continue and finalize the building, the only things needing to be added being sections of the roof, furnishings, and some few decorations on said rooves.

Thankfully, the current efforts would create a noticeable decrease in the amount of deaths caused by the sickness, and slightly reduce the increase in number infected, however the battle against this plague was far from over, as despite the improvements too many were dying, at least in the eyes of both the people of Llychlyn and their leaders. Still, life goes on and even with the current plague, a certain captain of the LCL Teithiwr would plan on doing something a bit different to his original plans. Seeing how the sick of his clan were recovering well and his crew were surprisingly, and luckily, not infected or at least not showing any signs of infection he felt that this was a decent time to do so. It would be a short trip anyway.

The LCL Teithiwr would sail again, heading due east and not changing course. Eventually, the forests nearby would be found, and the ship would sail slightly more northern, following the coast once again in the search of some sort of large settlement of natives like the one they found in Môr y tywod. After some time, clear signs of a major development would be found, and south of Vankung, a expedition consisting of Neifion, Rhisiart, four clan Wynn Coeden Fwyell, and three Llewelyn crew members would head off the ship once it got close to the shore and search for the natives. Hopefully, they'd not need to walk far...Maybe they'd know Tywod? If so, translation of their own language could wait a little, unless of course, they were just more Tywod elves...
