You are Seymour Skinner, principal of Springfield Elementary. But right now, your only job is to serve your boss, Superintendent Chalmers, an unforgettable luncheon.

Chalmers is going to arrive any minute, so your roast is due out of the oven soon.

Hopefully your mother won't do anything to ruin the luncheon. But she's likely going to remain upstairs for the time being.

Ding-dong the clear chime of the doorbell alerts you to the fact that your boss has arrived, even with you being in the kitchen.

>Get the door immediately, don't want to annoy Chalmers!
>Check the roast just one more time.
>Write-in.

>Check on the Steamed Clams
>>
Check the roast. We don't want to screw up after all.

Outside, Superintendent Chalmers stands with his bottle of wine, wondering what's taking you so long...

Checking on your roast, you see that it might be getting a little dry. On one hand, you could simply apply another coat of glaze, but that might take too long. On the other, you could turn off the oven and hurry to the door, hoping you didn't offend Superintendent Chalmers...

>Another minute won't do any harm, leave the oven on and rush to the door.
>Turn off the oven, then get the door.
>Put another coat of glaze on the roast, and leave it in the oven.
>Take the roast out of the oven. (This might take a while)

"Well Seymour, I made it-" Superintendent Chalmers begins, once you open the door. Luckily, it didn't take too long to extract your roast from the oven. "-Despite your directions."

Of course, it wouldn't be Superintendent Chalmers if he didn't start off by saying something like that to you.

>You won't take that, not in your own home!
>"Ah, Superintendent Chalmers. Welcome! I hope you're ready for an unforgettable luncheon!"

"Ah, Superintendent Chalmers. Welcome! I hope you're ready for an unforgettable luncheon!" You say with all your heart.

"Yeah."

Entering the kitchen to retrieve your roast, you see that it is fine and where you left it.

You cut a few slices off and bring the roast out to Chalmers, along with accoutrements.

"I must say Seymour," Superintendent Chalmers says, wiping his mouth, "I was expecting something to go wrong, but I'm pleasantly surprised."

Chuckling, you respond. "Of course, and I'm not surprised considering how many times ruffians have ruined a visit of yours to the school. Running a tight ship is a lot easier when you're the only sailor!"

The Superintendent grunts in affirmation.

Oh egads! Did you turn off the oven?

>Yes, it's fine. You're sure.
>Better go check.

Your mind briefly goes back to Johnny in Nam. That was the last time you were inattentive with something.

Never again.

"And what was that about?" Chalmers asks you as the door swings shut behind you.

"Oh, nothing. Just getting ready to clean up!" And it's true, since the oven was turned off. You must have not even thought of it.

"Well Seymour, you are an odd fellow. But I must say, you make a good roast."

With that, Superintendent Chalmers is on his way.

A good time was had by all. And the luncheon? The luncheon was unforgettable.
