But none of you got what you bargained for, the headmaster has gone missing, and in his place is a strange stuffed bear named Monokuma... The bear wants you to play a game, the rules are simple.
>Murder a classmate

The Monokuma Wizards (Monofamiliars?) Usher you into the elemental sciences building. The center classroom on the 5th floor. It’s a huge lecture hall, with the glass dome roof showing the sky, as if you were having class outdoors... You all take seats in the middle rows, the confidence from your prior meeting waning away in the uncertainty of the moment. After a few minutes of waiting, Monokuma seems to not be showing up.

“If he wanted us here on time so badly, why the hell does he show up late?” Eric pondered, cracking his knuckles.

“Well, he’s supposedly our headmaster... Isn’t it a normal thing for professors to be late to all the classes?” Cantara reasons.

“Not in this school, no...” Sigurd says. “In this institution, the professors aren’t just here to teach. They’re also under a duty to safeguard the school, and continue the forefront of magical studies. Monokuma is no headmaster of mine...”

“Headmaster or not, let’s hear him out, we could all listen and actually learn something! I mean, we're students and he’s the headmaster, sooo...” Greta chimes in.

“I... Do not think she understands the nature of this game...” Iona whispers to you.

Just then, an object appears from in the sky, above the dome. Falling rapidly, it smashes through one of the dome windows, causing glass to shatter all over the stage of the lecture hall. Everyone looks up, to see a familiar face.

“Sorry I’m late! Was just putting the finishing touches on a little project of mine...” Monokuma chuckles. “Uhuhuhu... Would you all like to see?” He asks, rhetorically, pressing a button on a remote.

One by one, the glass pieces that are intact lose their transparency, instead forming what looks to be a system of many monitors through some illusion magic. What they show is stunning.

The mana crystal, the symbol of infinite possibility and hope, has been defiled. Cut and shaped into the shape of Monokuma's head and face. It still retains its blue luster, but its distinct sharp and jutting shape was somehow rounded now...

The class looks on in silence. “How is this... Possible?” Brenna mutters.

“It ain’t possible at all... Ev'ryone knows touchin' the Mana crystal is a death sentence, unless you’re as powerful as Merlin!” Cindy speaks up, and out of turn, pointing at Monokuma. “That’s clearly a fake.”

“Would I be your headmaster if I couldn’t get near the crystal? Ahahahaha!!! That old fart, Merlin, he’s the one who abandoned you here anyway!” Monokuma says, once again stunning the class into silence.

What is that supposed to mean...?

(Continued)

“Now now... No need to get excited!” Monokuma turns off all the monitors, they return to showing the sky above. “We aren’t here for that! Do you all remember the rules from yesterday?”

Nobody speaks.

“Shy class! Welp, eeny, meeny, miney... You!” Monokuma points to Jacuzzi, who slightly jumps with worry.

“M-m-m-ME!?” He asks.

“Yeah, you! Pop quiz, what did we go over on syllabus day yesterday?”

“Uhm...” Jac clears his throat. “The rules of the killing game...”

“And those rules were?”

“One of us has to kill another, and get away with it to escape. The rest of us have to watch out for whoever that could b-be...”

“You’ve grasped the basic concept nicely! You get an A for effort, but an F for being boring...” Monokuma says. Jac hangs his head in shame, which is kinda funny considering he has no real reason to feel any. Eric pats his shoulder to cheer him up.

“So leave us to the game, why do you feel the need to pointlessly lecture us again!?” Sigurd snaps.

“Do you take me for a fool? You may have been a straight A student, but you’re a real hothead...” Monokuma puts his hands behind his back. The reason I called the meeting is so that I could help you all be motivated to win the game. After all, motivation and strong mental health is the key to good performance! At least... That’s what this book I read says...”

Help you be motivated? “There’s nothing you can do, Monokuma.” You find yourself saying. “We already decided to stick close together... We'll live here as long as it takes-“

“Magic is cool, huh?” Monokuma interrupts. “It makes no sense, and hasn’t been fully documented. Yet, everyone's using it! Using the power hidden in their bloodlines, along with mana, to break the original limitations of the world! All powered by the Mana crystals... The largest of which resides here, in Pagus, Italy!” You all know this. Why is he telling you? “Or uh, in this case, it’s the MONO Crystal now! Puhuhu~ Anyways, it takes an insane magical resistance to even get near the crystal without a human suffering a horrible demise... But a bear like me can get the job done! So rather than hoard, or “protect”, the power of Mana like that smelly old headmaster Merlin... I’m giving its power to you!”

Before anyone can object, many more objects slowly float in through the newly open part of the dome. You can make them out. 11 grey shards, seemingly from the mana crystal. They seem to have lost their glow...

“These crystal fragments have been de-activated, it’s safe for you all to get near them! So, who wants to hold one first?”

Everyone looks at each other, skeptical.

>Raise your hand.

>You don’t know what’ll happen if you touch that, no way!

Interesting . It would be unwise to take the word of the bear so easily, then again, why would he have any reason to harm us? If the name of the game is for each of us to kill each other, wouldn’t it be weird if he killed us himself using these new “mono crystals”? If this holds true then I see no real reason not to take the crystal, other than being cautious for cautiousness sake.

You slowly raise your hand, you can feel everyone looking on at you.

The crystal floats over, and you hold it.

...

...

...

Nothing's happening... Looks like Monokuma was right-

Suddenly, you feel a sharp pain on your left hand. Turning to look, it seems out of nowhere, one of the Monofamiliars has taken a small knife and made a cut. Not bad enough to kill, but enough to draw a little blood. Everyone gasps, but even still, you hold onto the crystal and keep calm... There has to be a reason...

As blood begins to seep from the cut, the crystal glows a faint navy blue... Then quickly flies out of your grasp, and back to Monokuma.

“Hmm... The power of analysis? This is hardly a magical power at all! You clearly don’t belong in this program... Anyone can do alchemy if they study, and anyone can analyze if they just look hard enough...” Monokuma taunts you.

You grit your teeth. That’s a low blow. Your power of analysis is more than just seeing what’s already there, you can sense things about plants and organisms that are just a touch deeper than that... Just a touch deeper...

You finally place your right hand over your left, to try and stop the bleeding. “I’m... I’m fine, guys.” You say. Iona lets out a relieved sigh.

“Well now! That was an exciting class demo, with a pretty lame result! If only someone else touched it... Okay, students! Give me your best guess. Put those heads together! Can you explain what just happened?” Monokuma questions.

Everyone thinks, looking to you for the answer, you were the one who demonstrated...

~ANSWER~
[What did getting cut while holding the fragment do?]

Science is the power of man, no god or unknown power controls it. With Science 1+1 will always be 2, but with magic, 1+1 may be 2, but might as well be 200 or 400. I scoff at your magic because soon enough, it too will be Science. Another tool of man.

~GOT IT!~

“Is it... You gained my power from the crystal, charged it somehow?” You ask.

“Bingo! Again, really wish it was anyone but boring old you...” Monokuma confirms, making you feel annoyed again. But a little cut only gave me a tiiiiiiiny bit! I wonder, what would happen if I killed you? I’d probably get all of your wimpy power! Or, as your gracious Headmaster, I can grant that to you!”

What... Is this? Magical power is supposed to be unique. Sure, they can be categorized by type and they have limits, but every magic user has a quirk in their bloodline that makes them slightly different... Yours is being able to sense things inside the body, rather than just acute awareness otherwise. But if a de-activated mana crystal can just take your power like that...

“I’m sure we all love ranking eachother based on powers, right? “My magic is stronger than yours!” Right? Then in theory... If you can produce the body of another student... I’ll turn it into a fully charged Monocrystal! At the end of the trial... If you can get away with it... I’ll give you everyone’s ability! You’ll be the undisputed strongest, then!” Monokuma’s reveal had everyone silent.

“The mana crystal can transfer power... This doesn’t make sense!” Sigurd notes.

“There’s a lot you don’t know about this thing. And a lot I’m not going to tell you! But those are my terms...” Monokuma gives a salute. “This is the first motive. If you want power, then just play the game!” He laughs. “Now that you understand, this meeting is over! Enjoy your free time, the best you can anyway... Puhuhuhu~!”

Everyone watches as Monokuma pulls a magic tome from out of nowhere (Tome based magic is a cliche myth, another joke by the bear) and begins levitating out of the opening from which he came.

...

That was a bit to process. Monokuma sculpted the Mana Crystal? Created fragments? Monocrystals? Power transfer? First Motive? It’s all much to take in.

You analyze everyone. Most of the students are fearful, but some stand out. The temperature of their heads is cooler. They’re thinking about it generally... Those people are GG, Iona, Sigurd, and Greta...
(Continued)
>>
>>3969576
I imagine Eric would be torn between wanting more power or feeling indignant that Monokuma would even consider using such an obvious ploy. As for Randy, he’d probably be indifferent to the face value of this revelation.

“More’n one... Magic ability...?” Cindy mutters.

“That’s what he said...” Randy sighs. “Who cares? I like mine as it is!”

“Are you, s-sure...?” Jacuzzi asks.

“Huh? Sure I’m sure! Why ya asking me?”

“B-because... Isn’t your ability useless without consent?”

Randy looks stunned for a moment. “Grr... I’ve gotten used to being called an evil mastermind my whole damn life... I don’t need this right now! Do I look like a killer to you...?”

“T-they always say... Nobody’s born a killer!”

“Boys!” Brenna shouts, both Jac and Randy turn to her. “This is exactly the problem. It’s just what that divines-damned bear wants! We argue so much about who COULD be the killer, that one of us BECOMES the killer from the stress...”

“I think it’s wise to be defensive...” Sigurd begins. “But, accusations...”

You remember, just before you walked in...

———

*Surefire way to get yourself killed.” Sigurd adds. “Think about it. Everyone in this clusterfuck, the minute someone dies, it’s all chaos... Fingers would be pointing all around. You gotta know your place, so that you know your friends, enemies, and killers...”*

*You think. “Play defensively all you want, but ever consider that makes YOU look like a suspect?”*

———

You smile a bit. Looks like Sigurd wasn’t such a closed-minded guy after all... Heeding your advice like that.

“Well what do you suppose we do now? Classtime’s over! So let’s go have fun, we can procrastinate the work!” Greta says. “Headmaster Monokuma said we could wait as long as we wanted...”

“I’m gonna keep researching the crystals, with the new information, maybe there’s an answer...” Sigurd says.

“And how do you know this isn’t all a bluff? Monokuma said it himself!” Brenna interjects. “This new information isn’t an enlightenment, it’s a motive. He wants to use it to force us into killing. But it might not even be real! There’s an easy way to know this... Monokuma has to have access to our application records!”

“But it has to be!” Eric shouts. “It lines up with that book Sigurd found, loathe to say it, that nerd was right. It’s gotta be legit...”

“No, it doesn’t... Ever watched that movie, the matrix?” Cantara says cooly. “There’s a chance none of our lives are real... It’s pointless to think about it too hard. Doing so will end up with someone wanting to test the theory...”

Everyone’s... Arguing?

You’re the one who held onto the crystal, and made the revelation... You can set the record straight!

“Brenna... My application didn’t mention my ability. You’re not required to disclose it, just list it for your major. But I didn’t come to study a magic type... I came to study alchemy, remember?”

———

“My name is Perseus Meigma... I’m pretty lucky to be apart of the likes of you all! Not sure how I clinched it, with my high school grades and all... So I hope we can get along. I-I do alchemy! So if you need any boosts, just ask and maybe I can brew for you all sometime.” You take your seat. Satisfied. But still suspicious of the headmaster...

———

“Oh, that’s right!” Greta exclaims. “So you can analyze things...? What am I thinking right now!?”

“It’s not a mind reading ability, it’s more like... Being able to see people’s stats clearly.” You say, GG perks his head up from his game at that.

“Why didn’t you say anything about this, Perseus...?” Brenna asks.

“It’s not exactly any of the major magic abilities... I didn’t feel it was important as what I used it for: Alchemy... I probably should’ve.” You give a determined look. “But Monokuma isn’t lying. He had to have found out my ability through that crystal!”

“Nice job, mr detective.” Cantara states, sarcastically. “Doesn’t stop me from not giving a shit, though.”

“Then...” Brenna sighs. “It must be correct...” She gives a worried frown.

“But...” You grab everyone’s attention again. “That doesn’t mean we’re gonna start killing eachother... I have faith in everyone in this room! We don’t need eachother’s powers, only our own to stop Monokuma!”

“Well said.” Sigurd nods.

You seem to have lifted some of the tension in the room, by finding the truth, you have gained a level of INFLUENCE among the class...

You check your watch, it’s 4:00 now... Was the presentation really that long? Monokuma was much later than you thought...

“Man, screw all this, I’m gonna go get some snacks at the lounge.” Randy says, exiting the hall. “Glad nobody’s gonna die anytime soon... Stupid bear...”

“We should... Probably all calm down after today...” Iona suggests.

You think that’s a wonderful idea.

At this point it's moot, considering what you've written, but when I made our character I put Percy's ability to analyze in "non-magical talents". As in it isn't magical, he just has a keen eye and a sharp wit. But it's fine I guess, just wanted to let you know.

I did realize this, but I sort of swapped the two since for this universe, alchemy isn’t so much magic as it is crafting using magical items. Just felt it’d be best but I probably should’ve said something instead of implying it.

“What?” He says.

“You aren’t as COLD hearted as they say...” You chuckle. “I’m just here to break the ICE.”

Sigurd looks like he wants to beat you over the head with his coffee mug. “Hmph, I suppose I should thank you for seeing past my stress... And... For supporting me back there today.” He looks at you in askance. “You sure your analysis ability isn’t mind reading?”

You nod. “Of course... If I could tell what everyone was thinking, the potential suspects would be immediately clear to me...”

“I’m suspicious of some, but I’ll refrain from naming names out of respect... That motive is garbage, however.”

You tilt your head. “Garbage?”

“Merlin has mastered every magic, and there are strong ones there who have mastered more than one, but why would we? And why would we do it like this?” Sigurd stares out the window, pondering his own question. “This doesn’t feel like just a game... Monokuma stated it as a test. But a test of what? If it’s a test, I have to perform my best, and find the true answer.”

You nod. “I don’t think you can do it alone, though... We all need eachother. Monokuma’s right, it’s easy for us to rank ourselves based on power, so let’s take the harder route and remain as equals...”

Since DR is a pretty linear narrative game, I don’t want something open ended like rolls getting in the way of something like “roll for how well you can analyze the scene for evidence” because that probably wouldn’t be fun. This means there probably won’t be skills involved in trials either.

Sigurd and you scour the Dorms for any signs of that bear’s figure. You sense something suddenly, looking to the fireplace.

“It always turns on in the evenings...” Sigurd tells you. “Been the honors dorms my whole time here, so I know.”

“Freeze that flame, or douse it.” You tell him.

“Could at LEAST say please!” He scoffs, snapping his fingers. The flame dissipates with some smoke, thankfully not enough to trip the smoke alarm...

It’s just as you thought. Behind the fire hung a sticker. It looked like a hand-drawn Monokuma... It was far enough from the flame to remain in great condition!

“Upupupu~! Lucky you!”

You both turn to see Monokuma at your feet. Sigurd steps away, but you stay still, holding up the sticker.

“Wow, a rare on your first find! Welp, rules of the game apply...” The bear laughs and hands over a coin with his visage on it. The bottom number reads 300. “Three hundred Monocoins! Man, you might as well be rollin’ in it... I should tell everyone to start looking to. If you aren’t going to play the killing game, you might end up at least playing my stock market game! Puhuhu~!” And with that, he disappears into smoke...

“That thing really thinks we’d invest long term in these?” Sigurd smirks. “The smart money says to stay out.”

“I guess so... But to have so many so early...” You look at the coin, it’s just one! “Hm... Should we divide this up somehow? I don’t see-“

“It’s fine, keep it. You’re the one who found it, right?” Sigurd interrupts you. “Only fair and just.”

You nod. “Alright... Thanks. Man all that looking and we only turned up one...”

“We haven’t scoured the rest of the school grounds... But that can come later. I need to keep researching...” Sigurd waves, and walks back to his room. “I guess you can come see me, if you wanna talk business...”

You wave back, checking your watch. It is now 6:00 PM... You’re thinking you’ll go to bed earlier, around 8. So there’s still time to speak with another student in the lounge...

You were gonna talk to Greta, but... Wait, she disappeared?

“Hiya!” You hear behind you, causing your heart to leap several feet out of your body. You turn around, to see the girl you were about to go looking for, innocently waving at you. She’s drinking red liquid from a bottle... “First day of school was looong and haaard... But I got to spend it with you all! Here’s to many more!” She offers you the bottle...

You think. Monokuma likely doesn’t care if you drink underage... Actually, now that you think about it, drinking age in Italy is 16! You’re two years over...

You nod, and Greta quickly pours you a shot. You take a short breath and knock it back.

It’s not at all what you expected. It’s less like a liquid and more like a slightly syrupy substance. The taste is sharp, but sweetened by an amount of sugar. Not unpleasant, but you can’t help but be offput. This isn’t at all how wine was described to taste.

It matter little. “Thanks.” You tell Greta. “Hey... So, you’re awfully cheery...”

“Hm?” She puts the bottle down. “Yeah, what about it? I’m excited to be a part of all this...”

“Your excitement is...” You wonder if you should let her down gently. And then remember your lives are all at stake. “Simply unfounded... There’s a chance we could all die, and you’re simply ecstatic?”

“Huh? What do you mean...?” Greta looks confused. “We’re at school, we’re gonna see and learn new things.”

“This isn’t how school is supposed to be... Have you been listening to that bear at all?” You ask.

Greta deflates a bit. “Is that why everyone’s been avoiding me...? Oh, well... I’ve never really been to school.”

She’s never even been to school? How the hell was she accepted? How is she even proficient in her magic? You shake your head. “It’s... Okay, I guess. Just make sure you’re not pumped for the game, but pumped to get out of it...”

“Okay, Percy! I’ll try!” She giggles. “Hey, you seem like a much better Professor than Monokuma! So I’m gonna call you Professor now. Okay, Professor?”

She’s like a child who’s finally been let out of their cage... You nod. “That’s fine.” At least she’s smiling. She’s right. Can’t be doom and gloom all the time.

“Alright! Again, thanks for not trying to kill me, I guess.” You blink. That was quite out of nowhere, but that is a part of the killing game you suppose.

“Don’t worry about it.” You say, slowly walking off.

Yeah. You’re still gonna keep an eye open around her. Especially if she disappears again.

———

You head to your room to get some sleep, just before you drift off, a familiar tone plays.

https://youtu.be/9mV6_RlVUtQ

“Attention all Ultimate Magic Students! This is your headmaster speaking!” You wonder, another meeting to try and coax you all into murder? “Tomorrow, you’re all free to explore the campus! The general store will be newly reopened, too! The Union will still be under lockdown, as we’re preparing for the game to truly begin! Now get some sleep, and get ready to rock!”

The monitor shuts off. You sigh, and immediately slip into a deep dream...

———

You dream about Pagus University. You go through a whole school day as if it were real... It’s so true to life, that nobody seems to notice you. You blend in between the other alchemy students. Making friends is hard... Your qualities aren’t very many, but neither are your faults. It makes you feel so alien in comparison to others...

~DAY III~

[DAILY LIFE]

You awaken to no sound, once again confirming that your situation is, in fact, real. You sigh. How much longer can you keep this up? You yearn for the school you saw in your dreams.

———

You’ve got 300 Monocoins, still in your pocket from the night prior. The general store was supposed to open today, that’s likely where the rest of your classmates went. You decide to follow them.

———

The sign now reads “MONOSHOPPE OF MIGHT AND MAGIC.” The moment you open the door, you’re overpowered by dense fog... This was a cliche magical store, it seemed. Monokuma lacked subtlety. The rest of the class is here like you thought, perusing the shelves. You see Iona reach for a crystal ball, only to be stopped by Brenna.

Eric rings the bell at the cashier’s desk. “Yo, Bear, you gonna ring me up?” You can see he’s buying more of those candy cigars...

On cue, Monokuma levitates from behind the desk. “There’s no point in me processing an order you can’t pay for, dummy! Now listen up, all of you!” The class gives Monokuma their attentions. “Starting tonight, each class member will receive 50 monocoins for their continued survival. As the class plays the game, twenty more coins will be dealt per late classmate! Sound fair? Buy a little something nice for your troubles!”

Brenna scoffs. “All this stuff is junk... Crystal balls? Hats with rabbits in them? Most of these aren’t real magic supplies.”

“I said buy yourself something NICE! Not practical!” He giggles. “Now enjoy your day! Perseus is the richest of you all right now, so if you want something, ask him!” And with that, Monokuma disappears into smoke.

“We don’t really need anything, do we...?” Iona asks.

“Well... I’ll keep SOME things in mind.” Randy says. You note that he’s standing by a shelf marked “PRANK MATERIALS.”

You decide you’ll pass, and save the coins for a later date. Never know when they’ll decide your fate... (Hey, that rhymes!) You decide to walk down to the café to have breakfast instead.

———

Unlike yesterday, the café holds no lively discussion as the class awaits food. What little chatter there is concerns the killing game, and strategies to stay safe during it. Despite rationalizing, the motive still has some in despair...

You take your seat... And hear a distinct noise. Like air being let out of a balloon at a high rate...

Everyone’s staring at you. A couple snicker. But you can see Randy laughing his ass off all the way in the back. You look down, confirming your suspicions. There’s a whoopee cushion placed onto your seat...

You sigh and begrudgingly laugh along, removing the cushion and taking your seat. Eventually, the laughter dies down, and conversation returns.

Iona is sitting next to you, and as Brenna gets up to grab something from the counter, she leans over.

“What do you think about the campus, Percy? It’s still quite pretty... Even when empty.”

You nod in agreement. Much more peaceful compared to the bustling city you grew up in. “It’s a shame we haven’t used much of it...”

“Isn’t it?” She says. “Well we’re free today, so... Let’s try!”

You tilt your head. “Are you sure...?” Everyone is still a bit nervous from the killing game’s events. You’re not sure it would be a good idea to carry on without caution...

“Sure I’m sure... We’ve persevered so far, despite that bear... So I think it’d be good to organize at the Life Center, maybe have some fun?” She looks quite excited. “It’d be... Healthy... So...”

Ordinarily I'd vote against this because having any kind of party rarely ends well in Danganronpa, but it's likely that Iona would attempt to throw the party whether we agreed or not. At least this way we can try and keep an eye on everything.

“That sounds like a plan, we could get together tonight and start setting things up!” You say.

Iona smiles, overjoyed. “Really?”

“Yeah, it’ll be a party.”

“Er... Party?” Iona blushes, looking away. “No, that’s childish, it’s like a fun get together. We’re all adults here right? Barely, but still!” You trace her gaze, she’s looking directly at Eric.

You chuckle. “Whatever you say. You’ll need all the help you can get, so I’ll enlist whoever I can.”

“Thanks so much...” Iona nods, as food is served.

———

After breakfast, the class disperses wherever. Most of them head back to the dorms, but Iona goes to the Student Life Center to get a head start on the party.

That leaves you to enlist some help.

You need a bartender and a DJ, and also someone to confiscate potential weapons as people walk in... You’ve got some idea of who could do what...

She seems to know her way around drinks, based on the FTE.
And if we can't even make wine, juice or just something that tastes nice, we don't deserve to be called an alchemist.

His specialty is music, after all.
Even if he doesn't know how to DJ, drum solos are cool.

You know just who to get for each job. Someone’s gonna be in charge of making drinks, alcoholic or otherwise. You could probably scavenge stuff from the café for it... You think you’re up to the task, as the resident alchemist, if you can’t mix a simple drink then you do not belong in this program... But just in case, you decide you’ll tackle the job with a partner.

———

“Bartending...?” Greta looks a bit confused for a second. “I mean, normally I just go straight from the bottle, but... I could try! Especially if you’re gonna be with me. Though, if it’s a party I’d have much rathered I be actually in the party.”

“That’s great to hear, and after awhile we can both go enjoy the party on our own.” You tell her. “Party’s at the Student Life Center tomorrow night. I’d say... Show up around 6 PM?”

“Sounds like a plan!” Greta exclaims.

One down, two to go...

“I’m a drummer, but I don’t really have much experience in actual music production.” Randy shrugs.

“No need. Really we just need you to bring a computer and play songs off of it.” You explain.

“Oh? I can handle that much better.” He grins. “Guess it’ll be an apology for the prank this morning...? No hard feelings?”

“None at all...” You mutter.

“Great. See ya there at six!”

You have a sort of bad feeling that the song list might include a certain late-80s pop artist famous for being used in internet trolling campaigns... But you shake those feelings. You have Faith things will go smoothly. He’s a musician, his catalogue will be pretty large.

“Your suspicions are well placed... A party away from the dorms would be as good a cover as any for murder. If a bit cliche...” Brenna muses.

“You’ve got keen eyes, so can you watch the door and pat people down until everyone’s inside?” You ask.

“Most certainly... I wouldn’t want this idea of Iona’s to go poorly. Though... It’s not like her to be so outgoing. I suspect there’s another reason she’s doing this.”

“I doubt Iona would be plotting-“

“Of course not.” She interrupts you before you could even suggest such blasphemy. “I’ve seen her watching that boxer, Eric... I think she may have a slight crush. Even something like that is new for her... So I’m glad she’s taking initiative with these things.”

Oh. Thaaaaat’s why she was looking at Eric so much! You laugh a little. Kind of sweet when you think about it...

“Then we’re in agreement?”

“Student life center at 6 PM. I’ll see you there I hope...” Brenna says, walking back into her dorm room.
