It has as good a character editor as most mmorpgs, and so we end up choosing a shapely-looking, feminine armor in bright red, bone white and pale pink, which somewhat makes us think of some very retro, very 80s robot designs...

Lyann's body seems to turn into light for a moment, but unlike with every other pet so far, it is a rather gentle light and we can stare at her without issue.

We can see her horns bending as if they were made our of hot wax under the weight of gravity, and while it takes us a moment, we also notice her tail 'pull up' as it shortens slightly. There's no other visible changes, at least not on first sight, and the light fades away as quickly as it came.

Looking at her sheet, her race did indeed shift from [Shattered] to [Sliver], though we don't see any obvious change ... oh, her attributes went up -slightly- but going from 315000 to 315005 is... not a big change.

Well, it takes us a minute, but then we notice she got two new template slots, #5 & #6.

That is definitively more important than the tiny attribute boost. She also lost her [Telepathy] passive.

Her horns quickly 'melt' even further, sinking into her skull, and her tail disappears, though since she still has her wings, it is hard to call her 'back to normal' yet.

Hm... looking at the possible traits and abilities she can buy, they include the [Shattered]'s telepathy, horns and tail, as well as the horns and tail of the [Sliver] and... [Slivers] apparently had the ability to 'copy' all traits from party members as temporal templates, which means a party of slivers and harpies would appear as a group of nothing but harpies.

Well, of course we wouldnt notice (visually) such a trait, as she was in party with us and noone else at the time.

Well, the light comes and goes and... on a superficial level, its our lovely Lyann, no changes.

Ah, her hair is quite a bit longer, reaching behind her to the floor rather than the back of her knees, but I doubt that's all there is to it?

"I think my shoulders feel a bit heavier..." - she complains, and twists her torso a little to either side.

Did her breasts grow a little bit...? Well it's not a bad thing or a big enough deal to be obvious, so let's indeed pay attention to the skills in her sheet.

Uhmm... she got two new template slots, bringing her total up to 10. That much follows the pattern so far.

The armored plates manifest as expected, but then seem to deflate slowly, merging into her body until they're nothing but skin deep, making it look as if she is wearing the tightest bodysuit imaginale in white, red and pink.

"Uhm? Your sheet says you still have your armor on."
"It doesn't feel like it." - she says as she twists slightly from side to side - "Uhm... there's a plate..."

She inspects her lower body in a businesslike manner, finding a thin but quite strong little plate covering her petals.

It just... retracts, leaving her exposed, then quickly moves back into place when she's done examining herself. Just as well, there's multiple plates covering her face, giving the impression of an exquisitely crafted pink and white mask that looks almost exactly like her, albeit without expression, of course. She finds that she can have it retract as well, exposing her face as needed...

...rather than kamen raiser-like, her new armor feels more guyver-like.

It depends on your taste of fandom, but I think its an improvement. Now we have an armored beauty with bright red hair cascading behind her.

"Wait, if the top and back of your head is exposed, that's a rather big weak spot." - we mention
"Hm."

She feels the top and back of her head, and several plates sprout like flower petals, then tirhgten against the back of her skull, flattening aganst the back of her head and wrapping around each other to create something like long, hollow horns pointing back and apart from each other.

"Really, you made armored-plate twintails?"
"I can be armored and girly. You like this hairstyle, don't you?" - we can 'hear' her smile, though her face is currently hidden behind her plate mask
"It looks really nice." - we reply, and happily find that her armor can still blush

Hm. Well, its part of her body, so I guess it's fine?

Anyway, the [Nova] can adapt its templates 'traits' while keeping their benefits, as demonstrated.

Looking at her sheet... her templates are all gone. Instead, she has s new active with a passive.

Now she can pick and choose traits in her party members, present or past, for her to emulate, and she can also alter the bodies of those same party members, allowing a party containing her, a salamander, a mermaid, a faery and a harpy to dive into lava, water, trees or the skies as needed, in turn looking like a party of nothing but salamanders, mermaids, faery or harpies, as needed.

Furthermore, the changes can be overt or covert. granting the mermaid bird wings, large flowing fins to work as wings, or just turning her into a full harpy if the mermaid needs to take to the skies.

"I'm pretty sure these are bigger again..." - she comments softly as she holds her torpedoes in her hands

Well, looking at her character sheet, she's right. They went up from 99cm to 105cm but its not that big a change, is it?

Actually after thinking about it for a while, I realized something I should have remembered from the start. Since I wrote the rules, quite literally, which comes to show I'm getting old.

Normally, couple from different races CAN'T have children anyway, remember? They need a god's blessing, obtained through marriage. Because there's no such thing as a half-elf or a half-beastkin or such.

So if we marry swarm-Lyann... swann? Lyarm? Anyway, if we marry her, we should be able to have children normally thanks to the divine blessing.

Also, said blessing isnt constant. It has to be turned on/off to allow for pregnancy to happen. Just mentioning it.
