/qst/ - Quests

In this quest you play as Wade Wakeman, a 16 year old boy with a heart of gold and the wielder of the Omnitrix. This story is being told in an alternate universe, in which there are no longer any remaining Tennysons. Characters from earlier seasons will appear, but not always in a way that you’d expect.

Archive:

Last time: Wade was critically injured by mysterious mystical archers!

Rules:
Most dice rolls will be 1d100. Modifiers will be added depending on the situation or on the alien being used. Crit successes and crit fails apply.

To roll dice, type “dice+1d100” in the options field without the quotations.

Multiple options can be chosen in combat and most social situations.

This armor doesn’t seem to be doing you any good. Maybe it’ll be best to remove it for now.

With a mental command, your suit recedes into a compartment on your belt. You watch closely as the arrow harmlessly passes through your armor, without so much as moving an inch from where it’s planted in your sternum. The one in your shoulder isn't bothering you too much though.

A cold, burning sensation spreads throughout your body, and it causes you to break into a coughing fit. Must be the effect of this magic arrow. You don't even want to think about what will happen if it spreads to your heart...

[Max]: Try not to move around too much. I’m gonna try to tie the arrow down to stop the bleeding.

Max attempts to tie the arrow down with a cloth, but it simply passes right through without much resistance. Seems like he can’t touch it either.

[Wendy]: We can’t stay here. We’ve gotta move him somewhere safer.

Another arrow zips past Wendy’s face, and she fires back at them with her sonic cannon. You doubt she knows where they are, so she’s most likely lashing out in anger.

[Trixy]: Wendy is correct, Wade. If we do not act soon, I guarantee that you will not survive this encounter.

Another arrow lands near you. You see it pass through the rock formation that you’ve been using as cover. These shots are getting closer and closer to you.

What's your next move?

>Ask Trixy to pick an alien for you. She always knows what's best.
>Transform into an alien. (Which one?)
>Send the empty armor out as a distraction while you relocate to another position.
>Try to remove the arrows by enveloping your hand in your own magic aura.
>Make a break for the Rust Bucket!
>Tell Max and Wendy to provide covering fire.

You think you’ve got an idea. But it’s gonna require a distraction if you don’t want to turn into a pincushion.

[Wade]: Hey Trixy, can you send out my suit to distract the archers?

[Trixy]: I will do my best.

You toss the miniature cube containing your suit onto the ground, causing to to quickly unfold and form into the shape of your body. Trixy should be able to move it around without you inside it. Hopefully it’ll fool the archers long enough for you to get the drop on them.

[Wendy]: You’re going back out there?!

You open up the faceplate on your Omnitrix and browse through the selection of aliens at your disposal. It’s a bit difficult to move your arm, but you grit your teeth and bear through the pain, for now.

[Wade]: Have to. If we stay here, we die.

[Wendy]: But-

Max moves his arm in front of Wendy to stop her from prattling on.

[Max]: He’s right. We need to trust him on this one.

Wendy looks as if she’s about to say something, but takes a deep breath and swallows her pride instead.

[Wendy]: Just don’t do anything stupid.

You honestly can’t promise that, but you’d never say that out loud.

Finally, you decide to transform into Ghostfreak, hoping that you’d be able to safely phase through the arrows. You make your selection and slam your hand down onto the Omnitrix core after it pops up. In a bright purple flash, you become Ghostfreak, and Trixy runs out to distract the archers.

She waves in their direction and several arrows fly through her armor in an instant. That should keep them busy for a little while.

You take a moment to make sure that you’ve gone invisible, and fly into the air to search for your assailants. The trees in this marsh are a bit more dense than you thought they’d be. You’ll have to continue your search a little lower to the ground.

You decide to start your search in the direction of the arrows being fired at Trixy. It’s not too difficult to traverse the terrain, since you can just phase through the trees and bushes in your way.

Eventually, you come across two anthropomorphic beasts equipped with bows and arrows. They each possess four arms, making it fairly easy for them to fire in rapid succession.

But, just as you’re about to creep towards them, they stop their assault and look around the area in confusion. Do they sense you here? How?

And that’s when you notice it. The arrows that still remains in your chest and shoulder. You could’ve sworn that they disappeared when you transformed. They must be tracking you with them. But it doesn’t seem like they’ve sniffed out your exact location. You can still get the drop on them!

>Grab their bows and break them with your tendrils.
>Possess one of them and make him fire a few shots at his friend.
>Pull a decaying tree down on top of their heads.
>Snatch their arrows out of their quivers while they aren’t looking.
>Possess one of them and use his body to tackle the other to the ground.
>Call Trixy to attack them from behind.

You chuckle to yourself in a hushed tone and whisper under your breath as you inch closer to the unsuspecting duo.

[Wade]: It's Show Time...

You enter into the body of one of the beastmen, causing him to shudder and convulse. This does not go unnoticed by his companion, as he turns to examine him closely. However, he was not expecting him to open fire all of a sudden!

With one fluid motion, you pull back your bow's drawstring with two of your hands, while the other two grab a handful of arrows, ready to be fired. One by one, you let lose a barrage of translucent arrows tightly grouped together. You expected at least one of them to hit, but you're caught of guard by the beastly archer reaching his hands out to pluck your arrows out of the air, while two of them miss entirely and pass through a tree behind him.

[Wade]: What?! You can do that?

How is it that he can touch them, but you can't? Seems a little unfair to you. And you're pretty sure you can see a smug grin spreading across his thin, black lips. But the good news is that you can touch them as long as you're possessing one of the archers. That might come in handy later. (No pun intended)

You wait patiently to see what the archer will do next, however he does not fire back with his bow. Maybe it's because you've possessed the body of his friend. What a surprisingly noble guy.

Instead, he puts it away, crouches low to the ground and charges at you with impressive speed!

>Grab him by the horns and wrestle him to the ground.
>Allow him to tackle you and exit the host's body.
>Meet his charge with your own!
>Shoot him in his legs before he can reach you.
>Jump over him and snatch his bow and quiver.
>Wait patiently and meet his charge with a double-right hook!
>Dump your entire quiver on him before he can reach you! (Rapid fire)

[Wade]: Time to grab this bull by the horns!

Man, are you glad that Wendy wasn’t around to hear that. The cheesy hero lines started as a joke, but then they slowly evolved into a strategy against easily provoked criminals. A flustered villain makes more mistakes and is less likely to devise any convoluted plots to kill you.

After all, psychological warfare is very important when your life is being threatened everyday.

You grab the horns of the archer and drag him towards the ground with all of the strength you can muster. Even with all of your weight pressing down on his head and neck, he still somehow manages to push you back, causing you to slowly slide backwards in the mud.

The slick terrain in this marsh is making it hard for you to maintain your footing. But if that’s the case…

You kick his knee, causing his foot to slide backwards, making it much easier for you to force his face into the mud. He snorts hot air from his nostrils and bucks wildly as you hang onto his horns for dear life. Looks like he’s not gonna be giving up anytime soon. You need another way to take him down.

[Wade]: I didn’t want to have to do this, but…

You move one of your hands to the area between his shoulder and neck and gently place your claws between a lump of his flesh and fur. You really hope this works…

[Wade]: You’ve forced my hand.

You tightly pinch a bundle of nerves right underneath his skin, causing the subdued archer to shriek in pain. You had to put a bit more strength into it because of the thickness of his skin, but it seems to have been effective. Now you just need to lightly twist your wrist to the left and…

The beast goes limp and slumps back into the mud as every muscle in his body is forced to relax.

You did it! You actually pulled off the Hephaestan Neuro Grip! Azmuth was right. It really is useful for subduing all manner of prey! And it’ll be extremely useful in the future.

You exit the body of your host, but not before scrambling the brain of your host a little bit. Just enough to knock him out with little to no brain damage.

The familiar sound of plasma fire in the distance attracts your attention. Better see what that’s all about. You just hope that Max and Wendy managed to avoid being shot while you were gone.

(Cont.)

You fly back the same way you came, only to find a trail of carnage and the signs of a struggle.

[Wendy]: Hey dweeb, you okay?

You turn around to see Wendy, Trixy and Max dragging an unconscious archer from a brush. They look a little worn out and beaten up, but safe nonetheless. You breathe a sigh of relief and check your body for any other spirit arrows. Looks like the effects of the spell have worn off! You’re still gonna be in for a world of hurt after you time out, though.

[Max]: We caught him trying to go after you after you left.

And you’re glad they did. A third enemy would’ve made things a bit messy. Hopefully, that’s all of them.

[Trixy]: It would seem that my diversion failed, Wade.

Trixy's head lowers in shame, and Wendy slaps her on the back with her prosthetic hand, causing her head to perk up in surprise.

[Wendy]: Standing in place and waving your arms around didn’t make it seem very convincing, to be honest.

[Wade]: Nice work. Now, we just have to figure out what we’re gonna do with these guys.

>Tie them up and interrogate them.
>Destroy their weapons and equipment and leave them here.
>Take their weapons and equipment. You might be able to make some use of them.
>Tie them up and leave them here. If they’re with the Oni, then they’ll come to pick them up eventually.
>Take them with you and drop them off in the nearest area with any form of local law enforcement.
>Search the area for any more archers.
>Run to the Rust Bucket for first aid. When you time out, you’re gonna need to be patched up immediately.

In all of this commotion, you’ve nearly forgotten that the Omnitrix will time out in a few minutes, leaving you vulnerable once more. With nothing to plug up the holes in your chest and shoulder, you will surely die from blood loss unless you act fast. Perhaps you still have time to-

A high pitched ringing noise interrupts your thoughts, and a familiar yellow flash illuminates the concerned faces of your allies. You know it all too well. It’s the prelude to your misfortune. The anthem of your agony and suffering. And if it hasn’t killed you in the past, it surely will today.

[Wade]: No no no no no!

Without hesitation, you phase through the Rust Bucket’s hull and frantically search for a first aid kit of some sort. You haven’t a single second to waste.

You tear through the pantries and cabinets with no regard for common courtesy or Max’s privacy, until finally, you manage to find a first aid kit in his bathroom!

As you you tear the box open, you return to your human form in a flash of golden light. In an instant, a wave of intense pain washes over your body once more, causing you to collapse onto the bathroom’s tile floor. It’s actually terrifying how much blood is pouring from your chest right now. It’s dying the floor completely! There has to be something that can…save…you...

-------------------------------

When you open your eyes, you find that your vision is blurry and your throat is dry. You struggle to move, only to be met with a sharp pain in your chest that forces a whimper out of your lips. It might be in your best interest to avoid doing that again.

[???]: Max, he’s awake!

You look up to see what you can only assume is a vivid hallucination. It couldn’t be explained otherwise.

Bloodrush, one of your aliens, is standing over you, whilst pumping blood into you through its veins. You had no idea Bloodrush could control its veins freely. That’s so...interesting…

[Max]: Hey, stay with me champ.

Max slaps the side of your face to keep you awake. It sort of pisses you off since you only wanted to rest your eyes for a bit. Why does everyone look so serious? And why does your head feel like it’s spinning?

[Max]: Don’t let him go back to sleep.

[Bloodrush]: And how am I supposed to do that?

[Max]: I dunno. Talk to him. Keep him engaged or something.

Bloodrush nods to Max before he disappears somewhere outside of your field of vision. And now that the mean old man is gone, you can finally get some rest...

[Bloodrush]: I swear if you fall asleep again, I’ll bite you.

Bloodrush leans closer to you and bares its fangs while snarling.

>”Geez, don’t have a cow, man.”
>”Sounds like someone wants to lose his spot in my Quicklist~.”
>”I’m up, I’m up!”

[Wade]: You jumped out of the Omnitrix to save me? Thanks, buddy~.

Bloodrush frowns and squints at you through his yellow lenses. You remember them being purple though…

[Bloodrush]: Oh man, Max must’ve given you that good shit. It’s me, Wendy. Trixy let me put the Omnitrix on.

[Trixy]: Temporarily.

[Wade]: What? No you’re not. Wendy’s half human, half robot.

Blood rush seems offended by your statement for some reason.

[Wendy]: I’m not a robot, dipshit.

[Wade]: I know. You’re Bloodrush!

[Bloodrush]: Arghh! Fine! I’m Bloodrush, then.

The way his veins wiggle around in your chest sort of tickles. You’re pretty sure he’s the only reason you haven’t bled out by now. But it’s honestly surprising to see that you and one of your aliens have the same blood type. It’s downright uncanny.

[Wade]: What happened to the archers?

It’s hard to avoid slurring your words, and your throat burns every time you talk, but you bear through it for the sake of dragging some answers out of Bloodrush.

[Bloodrush]: Oh them? We smashed their weapons and tied them up somewhere. They’ll be okay. Probably…

Bloodrush doesn’t really seem to care what happens to them.

[Max]: We’re about 40 minutes from the valley. What should we do with him?

Max re-enters the room and gestures towards you.

[Bloodrush]: He needs rest. Maybe we can camp out somewhere near the alley?

[Max]: We can’t afford to wait. Aku’s forces are already ahead of us, and he’s got reinforcements flanking us as we speak.

Max leads Bloodrush over to the corner of the room and begins speaking in a hushed tone.

[Max]: Maybe we should just drop him off somewhere safe and go on ahead.

This clearly upsets Bloodrush. Do they think you can’t hear them over there?

[Bloodrush]: Are you retarded?! We need him. We never would’ve gotten out of that swamp without him.

[Max]: The way I see it, you’re the one wearing that watch now. If you want to let him rest in the RV, then that’s fine. But “we” need to keep moving, or else we’ll be overrun.

Bloodrush grits his teeth and snarls at Max.

What’s gonna happen to you? This doesn't seem like it's gonna end well.

>Try to get up and bear through the pain. You can still do this.
>Rest for a little while and let Wendy take over.
>Try healing yourself with magic. You might be able to pull it off.

I'm concerned about using magic in our current state of mind; I'm a bit surprised that we're lucid enough to consider attempting to heal ourselves. In the end, this is for Max, Bloodrush and Trixy to to figure out, and if they defer to our judgement it's their fault when we don't make it out of this alive.

[Wade]: I'm with Bloodrush. I think we should camp here for the night.

They turn to you with shocked expressions.

[Wade]: You guys whisper really loudly.

[Max]: You don't get a say in this.

[Bloodrush]: Yeah? Well I do. And I'm the one with the watch, so you can either leave us both here and return to your base empty handed, or you can sit down, take a nap and get a fresh start in the morning when my brother isn't bleeding out.

Max falls silent and thick tension hangs heavy in the air.

[Wade]: Does this mean I can take my nap now?

Your honest and innocent question somehow breaks the tension in the air, and Max's lips curl into a genuine smile.

[Max]: Sure thing, kiddo. Get some rest.

[Wade]: Awesome…

With Max’s permission, your eyelids slowly close, as if they were pulled together by magnets. The noise and pain fade away, finally allowing you to rest.

--------------------------------

A rhythmic booming sound wakes you from your slumber, and you struggle to pull yourself from your bed. The good news is that it seems like they’ve managed to patch up the hole in your chest and stop the bleeding, but the bad news is that it still hurts like hell! And what was up with that dream you had last night where Bloodrush hopped out of the Omnitrix and performed emergency surgery on you? And why does it feel like that booming sound is getting closer to you?

[Wade]: What’s that noise? Earthquake?

Max enters the room, seemingly torn between joy, relief and anxiety upon noticing that you’re awake. But instead of greeting you, he goes straight for the viewfinder near the driver’s seat. His face goes pale upon inspecting the source of the noise.

[Max]: Worse. Demongo’s here! And he’s got backup.

[Wendy]: Shit! We’ve gotta move!

It’s good to see that Wendy’s okay too. But why’s she wearing your Omnitrix?! What exactly happened while you were out?

She seems to notice that you have alot of questions, so instead of answering them, she gives you a quick hug and tosses your armor cube at you.

[Wendy]: Get dressed. We still need you.

She kindly returns the Omnitrix to you, along with your armor cube, and you manage to equip both simultaneously. Feels good to be back in your armor. You feel naked without it these days.

[Trixy]: It’s good to have you back, Wade. How are you feeling?

[Wade]: Better, for the most part. Probably shouldn’t push my luck though.

If you reopen that wound in your chest, then you might be in serious trouble. So, how do you wanna handle this?

A direct confrontation in our state is a no-go. But it's definitely guaranteed We'll be fighting through them.
It's a bit of a stretch, but turning into Vertigoat might help us formulate a good plan and be able to fight without overexerting ourselves too much.
As for the actual route that plan would go for? Eeeeeh...
>Try to outrun Demongo’s forces by cutting through the valley.
Might be our best option, but I can see merit in Ambushing Demongo and somehow slowing their army down.

[Wade]: Hang on, I’ve got an idea!

You quickly scroll through your selection of aliens, before stopping on Upgrade and slamming your hand onto the Omnitrix’s core. In a flash of purple light, your body changes into that of Upgrade!

[Wendy]: What are you-

You waste no time in merging with the Rust Bucket and enhancing its functions. This Max’s Rust Bucket is actually more advanced than Grandpa’s. Maybe you can bring some part back home as a present.

[Wade]: Let’s get the hell out of dodge!

You wait for Wendy and Max to grab hold of something before you activate the RV’s rear thrusters and go from 0 to 75 in an instant. Man, this thing really has some kick to it!

You race down the road at 200mph, with the wind whipping at your windshield and wearing on your hull ever so slightly. You climb a steep hill and soar above the ground for a minute, before plummeting back to the ground without losing much speed. The suspension is pretty solid, and there’s tiny thrusters installed in the under-carriage to slow your descent and make your turns smoother.

Eventually, the valley comes into view and you get your first look at this majesty of a national monument. It’s absolutely massive! And it really is in the shape of a foot!

[Max]: There it is!

[Wendy]: Looks more like a canyon than a valley.

You’d comment on that completely valid point, but you’re too distracted by the horde of robot beetles lying in wait on both sides of the valley. They look just like the ones that attacked you in the past.

[Wade]: Ambush!

As you pick up speed, the beetles screech loudly and begin their descent into the valley.

[Wendy]: They’re trying to cut us off!

[Wade]: Not gonna happen.

You equip a battering ram to the front of the RV and add several rows of saw blades to it. Your tire treads grow spikes and become slightly reinforced to brace for the oncoming impact. Here goes nothing!

You tear through the beetles’ blockade and demolish every obstacle in your path. They actually seem to be exploding upon making contact with the battering ram. The beetles behind you try to latch onto the back of the RV, so you quickly divert your attention to re-purposing the anti-air turrets into powerful plasma cannons!

Just one concentrated blast is powerful enough to tear through several bots with ease.

Both your offense and defense is impeccable, and you can’t see these fragile bug bots overpowering you anytime soon. The path ahead of you becomes a carnage filled scrapyard, and the path behind you is littered with the charred and shattered remains of your victims. You’re actually a little disappointed.

(Cont.)
>>
Suddenly, a towering behemoth of some sort appears before you in a puff of blue smoke. It’s massive! Is this the thing that created this valley(canyon?)? It has long black hair, blue skin and a human frame, but its features are rather savage and unkempt.

[Wendy]: Gun it, bro!

[Max]: No, turn around! We won't make it!

Without thinking, you shoot the giantess in the eye, causing her to shriek and recoil in pain. And while she’s distracted, you drive between her legs at full speed!

[Wendy]: Uh, Wade? She’s still coming at us! I think you just pissed her off.

[Wade]: Yeah, I seem to have that effect on people.

The giantess quickly recovers from her injuries and shoots an enraged glare in your direction. She then breaks into a mad dash, crushing hundreds of beetles underfoot and closing the distance in the process. Those long limbs of hers are really putting you in a tough spot!

Just before her hand can reach the Rust Bucket, you swerve to the right at the last second to avoid being grabbed. Amidst her rampage, Demongo’s robot army faces utter devastation. She lets out a bellowing roar that rattles your windows and reaches for you once more. However, just as you’re preparing to swerve again, her hand stops and begins to shake.

[Max]: What happened? Why’d she stop?

[Wendy]: I dunno. What’s she doing?

The blue giantess appears to be completely dumbfounded for some reason. She squints hard in your direction and places a hand to her chin.

[???]: ...Master? Is that you?

[Wendy]: What’s she talking about?

Wait...the only person that ever calls you “Master” is…

[???]: Goodness! For my master to see me like this...it’s my greatest shame!

The giant’s face becomes flushed and changes to an even darker shade of blue. In a burst of radiant light, her horrifying and haggard appearance melts away, and becomes that of a beautiful belly-dancer. It really is her!

[Wade]: It’s Olumar!

[Wendy]: The genie?!

[Olumar]: MAAASTER~~! You really do remember me! Just where have you been hiding all of these years, young man?

Just then, a pillar of blue flame erupts from the center of Demongo’s robot army, destroying a good amount of them in an unnecessarily flashy display. Once the flame fades, you see what looks like a thin black figure with bat-like features and a head full of blue flame. That must be Demongo.

[Demongo]: Foolish mortals! The only true Mastah in this pitiful realm is Lord Aku!

His voice is much more high pitched than you expected it to be. It isn’t intimidating in the slightest. But what is intimidating, are his hands that are now aglow from his high concentration of mana. This guy must be crazy strong!

[Demongo]: Now, prepare to-

[Olumar]: Oh quiet, you.

With one stomp of her foot, Olumar creates a powerful shockwave that obliterates the majority of Demongo’s army and sends him flying!

You guess Olumar is stronger, though.

[Olumar]: That won’t hold him for long. You should probably get out of here.

Her tone and facial expressions have changed completely. It’s as if she’d never changed after all these years.

>”Wait, you should come with me!”
>”With your help , we might be able to take down Demongo here and now.”
>”Thanks. I’m going to fix this messed up future!”

[Wade]: I’m sorry for leaving for so long. It’s good to see you.

A wide grin spreads across Olumar’s face as she sweeps away the wreckage of the killer bots with her feet.

[Olumar]: It’s been far too long since we’ve seen one another. However, I do wish that I could have seen you in your charming human form~.

[Wade]: Sorry, but I can’t afford to time out right now.

You kind of feel bad that you can’t greet her normally, but these aren’t normal circumstances.

[Wade]: But I will promise you this. I’m gonna change this messed up future!

Olumar places her hand to her mouth and lets out a soft chuckle, showing her sharp canines for only a moment.

[Olumar]: Normally I’d scoff at the notion, but if it’s you Master, then I’d be willing to believe anything.

Before you can respond, a mountain of robot corpses erupts in a bright flash of white light. Once the smoke clears, you can see an enraged Demongo preparing a mighty spell of some sort.

[Olumar]: We can talk later. Until then, run along now.

[Wade]: Give ‘em hell!

You turn around and drive away from the conflict at full speed. But before you can get out of the area, your audio-receptors catch a bit of idle chatter from Olumar.

[Olumar]: I will not fail to protect my Master this time. I will make things right.

Her voice is shaky and unstable. She must’ve thought that she had failed you all those years ago.

[Olumar]: At a time like this, my Master would surely say something like: “It’s Show TIme!”

Without a second thought, Olumar runs toward Demongo with reckless abandon. You don’t dare look back at her, for fear of what you might see. Her resolve and whole-souled devotion remain burned in the back of your mind for the remainder of your drive through the valley.

-----------------------------------

Once you make it through the valley, you detach yourself from the Rust Bucket and time out, returning to your human form. Your fragile and critically wounded human form…

You nearly cringe in pain from being slapped on the back by Max and Wendy once you re-enter the Rust Bucket.

[Max]: Your big blue friend is brave. Much braver than I was back then.

[Wendy]: Yeah, she was pretty bad-ass back there.

Looks like they’re trying to cheer you up. Somehow, all of you knew in the back of your minds that Olumar wasn’t planning on returning to you after her fight with Demongo. All you can hope is that she’s underestimating her strength, and that one day she’ll return to being your genie in a bottle.

[Wade]: Thanks. How long until we reach your base?

[Max]: It’ll take a few hours, so make sure you rest up along the way.

Do you actually plan on sleeping, or will you distract yourself until you reach the base?

Maybe you should try that healing spell that Kirby taught you. It would really come in handy right about now, and you don’t really have anything to lose from not using it.

You close your eyes, focus your mana around your hands and place them near your chest. After reciting a mental incantation, you watch in amazement as your wounds slowly nit themselves together!

[Wade]: Whoa! That’s so cool-

And the minute you stop paying attention to the incantation, the flow of magic is interrupted, and your wounds tear open once more, spraying blood on the bathroom floor and causing you a great deal of pain.

[Wade]: Gah, fuck! Is this a ritual spell?!

Seems like you can’t lose focus while using it. That means it’ll be super risky to use in combat. You start to wonder if there are other healing spells that can be used without concentration. Maybe you should ask Kirby.

[Wendy]: What happened?!

Wendy walks in on you to see you closely clutching your reopened wounds with bloodied paper towels. She must’ve heard you scream.

[Wendy]: What did you do?!

[Wade]: I was just trying something...to...help with…

And there goes the anemia caused by massive blood loss. You’re lucky that Wendy was here to catch you before you passed out on the floor again.

Looks like you’re gonna be taking a bit of a nap until you get back to the base.

>Successfully learned healing spell!(Ritual)
>Successfully reopened your wounds!
>Whoops!

------------------------------------

When you open your eyes once more, you notice a bright light hanging above your head, along with the sensation of cold metal against your bare back.

[???]: Ah, you’re awake. I probably should’ve used a stronger anesthetic.

You look down to see a green alien operating on you with a variety of machines. But that’s not just any green alien doctor! It’s Iden! And she looks like she hasn’t aged a day

[Iden]: Really now Subject 010, just what have you done to yourself this time? I gave you that armor for a reason you know.

You grit your teeth as you struggle to sit up on the operating table.

[Wade]: It’s good to see you too, Doc.

A genuine smile spreads across her face and she gently strokes your cheek before regaining her composure.

[Iden]: You haven’t aged a day. I suspect temporal displacement was somehow involved?

[Wade]: You’re right on the money. Paradox sent me here to find a sword that can kill Aku.

Iden crosses her arms in huff.

[Iden]: It better be Ascalon. I tried to persuade Azmuth to give up its location, but the little toad took it to his grave and left us all here to suffer.

You can understand why a blade that cuts through reality would terrify Azmuth. In the wrong hands, it could destroy the entire Universe! But aside from that, you’re pretty bummed to hear that Azmuth passed away. You could really use his advice right about now.

[Wade]: I’m surprised that you’re still on Earth after all this Aku business. Why’d you stay?

[Iden]: To aide Anaris in his cause, of course. I always support my children, regardless of the path they decide to take.

Sounds like Anaris is another one of Iden’s creations, like you. Could it be...no, that’s not possible.

[Wade]: Is that really the only reason?

You know Iden is anything but selfless. There has to be something in this for her.

[Iden]: Okay fine, you’ve twisted my arm! Do you have any idea as to how famous my name will be when they realize that MY creation destroyed the galaxy’s greatest threat? I’ll be a legend! My legacy would surpass that of the First Thinker!

The way she gets all excited and giddy over fame and recognition has always creeped you out. Even when all life in the galaxy is being threatened, it's all she can think about. Must be an Inspector thing.

[Wade]: Figures...

She tosses you a plain white t-shirt for you to put on. You wonder what Iden’s done with your armor. You don’t see it anywhere.

[Wade]: Any idea if any of our other friends are still alive?

[Iden]: Well...there’s the woman that resides in the lamp, and I’d imagine the purple feline is still around here somewhere. But those are the only two I know of.

You recently found out about Olumar, but Gwen being alive is a different story.

[Wade]: Gwen’s alive?! I thought cat’s lived relatively short lives.

[Iden]: Well yes, normal Earth cats do. However, Gwen’s biology was greatly altered by the Anodite known as Verdona, which makes her a bit of an anomaly.

[Wade]: Do you know where she is?

[Iden]: No idea. She hasn’t been the same ever since the war.

[Wade]: You mean the Clone Wars?

[Iden]: No, I mean “The War of Science and Magic”.

Iden looks at you with a bewildered expression, as if this information were common knowledge.

[Wade]: The what?!

[Iden]: Oh, right. You weren’t there for that, huh. My bad.

Before you can bug her for more information about the war that she glazed over, a tall, muscular figure enters Iden’s Lab. You turn to face him and OH FUCK IT’S D’TRAXUS!

(Cont.)
>>
[Iden]: Oh, Anaris! Glad you could make it.

Iden runs over to him without the slightest bit of hesitation, but you find yourself frozen in a mix of fear and confusion. After all, you never thought you’d be standing face to face with your very first nemesis!

He turns to face you with a tranquil expression. He seems...different somehow. More chill and less prone to temper tantrums. Maybe he;s grown wise in his old age.

[Anaris]: It is good to see that you are well.

>”Uh...you too?”
>”How the hell did this happen?!”
>”Not gonna lie. I probably should’ve seen this coming.”

[Wade]: Not gonna lie, I probably should’ve seen this coming.

[Iden]: You’re not mad? That’s good! I meant to tell you earlier, but I was afraid of how you’d react.

[Anaris]: The boy is sensible enough to suppress his emotions. He can handle the truth.

Having “Anaris” compliment you like that is a weird feeling. You’re not sure if you can get used to it.

[Wade]: Man, I must’ve missed one hell of a redemption arc!

[Anaris]: Indeed. After my defeat by your hands, I’ve had much time to reflect. I’ve realized that my struggle was ultimately futile in the grand scheme of things. To repent for my actions, I abandoned my name and my old ways. Protecting all life in the galaxy, and conquering my fragile ego to promote its growth and development is the only answer. Your cause is a noble one, Wade Wakeman.

Uh...that’s just...wow. You didn’t expect him to be so enlightened. He might actually be a cool guy now.

[Wade]: I’d love to catch up with you guys, but there’s something I have to bring up first. My friend was kidnapped by Elena Validus, and I need your help to rescue him.

[Anaris]: Validus? You mean Aku’s weapons manufacturer? Her factory is like a fortress, and we’d need an extraordinary amount of firepower to liberate your friend.

[Iden]: Well, we do have a clone army at our disposal.

[Anaris]: Can we really afford to throw our entire army at a weapons factory? We’d be at a severe disadvantage, and our numbers are already dwindling.

[Wade]: Yeah, but now you’ve got me!

You flash the Omnitrix at him by pulling up your shirt.

[Anaris]: Yes, but you’re in critical condition. Just what can you do with your body in that state?

[Wade]: I beat you, didn’t I?

You adopt a smug grin, and to your surprise, you manage to squeeze a chuckle out of Anaris.

[Anaris]: Good point. But tell me, what do we have to gain from this? I am not foolish enough to order my men to throw their lives away without good cause.

[Wade]: How about a magic sword that can kill Aku? That good enough?

Anaris leans closer to you and stares deep into your eyes. Perhaps it’s to see if you’re telling the truth?

[Anaris]: Tell me more.

[Wade]: First we get Rex, then we talk about the sword.

To be honest, you don’t really know where the sword is, but you won’t tell him that. You’re a little concerned by how quiet he’s been for the past few minutes, though. If he refuses to help you, then you'll be on your own here...

Finally, Anaris sighs deeply and crosses his arms.

[Anaris]: Do you have even have a plan?

>”I need to know what this factory looks like first. Can I get a look at a map or something?”

[Wade]: I need to see what this factory looks like first. Can I get a look at a map first?

[Anaris]: Very well. Follow me.

Anaris and Iden lead you out of the medical tent and into the base camp. You see that it's teaming with life and thriving with the soldier's activity.

You're a bit thrown off by how similar everyone looks, but there's a few features and accessories that uniquely sets them apart from each other. No two people have the same tattoo, or jewelery, or scars. Everyone has something that makes them unique.

As an outsider, you draw alot of unwanted attention to yourself. They must not be used to seeing new faces around here.

[Anaris]: Forgive them. They've been a little on edge ever since you arrived.

[Iden]: We got word that Demongo has been approaching the area near our base, so we might be forced to mobilize our units at a moment's notice.

[Wade]: Max told you?

[Anaris]: Yes. I've asked him and your "sister" to join us in command center.

[Iden]: Don't be mean. She's your sister too, you know.

Anaris grumbles under his breath and picks up his pace a bit.

After a few minutes, the three of you approach a grey dome-shaped building being guarded by two clones. Upon spotting their leader, the two of them step aside and allow the three of you to enter.

The large metal doors slide open and you're immediately met by the sight of Max and Wendy leaning over a table with some sort of virtual display.

[Wendy]: I see you met tiny here.

Anaris narrows his eyes at Wendy and casually approaches the war table. You and Iden do the same.

[Max]: Didn't think you'd be up so soon, kid.

[Wade]: No rest for the weary, I guess.

Your conversation is cut short by Anaris and Iden loudly clearing their throats simultaneously.

[Anaris]: If you are all finished, then we can begin.

He taps the face of the war table with his finger, causing the digital display to expand greatly and fill the entire room.

You see what appears to be a black, dieselpunk fortress of some sort. That must be the factory.

[Anaris]: The Validus factory is heavily guarded at all hours of the day and night by automated drones and defense systems. Any attempt at infiltrating the base by land or sky will be intercepted by heavy artillery.

[Wendy]: What if we go underground?

[Iden]: Drilling would take too long and be very noticeable. We have, however, noticed a system of tunnels underneath the factory that are most likely used to dispose of waste materials and the like.

[Max]: How do they resupply? Validus has got to have her resources flown in somehow, right? Can't we just hijack a vehicle and airdrop into the base?

[Anaris]: It's not that easy, I'm afraid. Even if we were to commandeer a vehicle without raising any alarms, we would not have the schedule for delivery, nor would we have the landing codes.

[Wade]: And if we don't have either of those, we get blown out of the sky…

[Iden]: Correct.

(Cont.)
>>
The room falls silent and you divert your attention to the holographic display, hoping that an idea will suddenly pop into your head.

[Iden]: We do have one more option.

Iden places a containment cube on the war table, and open it up for everyone to see. It looks like s shiny yellow gauntlet of some sort. Is that…?

[Wendy]: The Amalgamatrix…

Wendy's face goes pale and tightly clenches her fists as she recalls the bad memories associated with that device.

[Iden]: I saved it, just in case we might need it again. And from the looks of things, I think we do.

You're absolutely livid! Why would she even suggest something like that? Why does she still have it?

[Wade]: You want her to put that thing back on?! After all the work we went through to cure her?

[Iden]: If we cured her once, then we can do it again. With Wendy wielding the Amalgamatrix, we can tear through their defenses, even if it's through a frontal assault. Think about the mission here. Think about Rex…

This silence is unbearable! You aren’t gonna let Wendy ruin her life again. Not after the work you put in to cure her.

[Wade]: No way! We’re going with another plan.

Everyone except Wendy turns their attention to you.

[Iden]: Then, by all means, the floor is yours.

[Wade]: I think we’d be better off going underground.

[Anaris]: Traversing a tunnel system that we’re unfamiliar with would likely take far too long and limit the number of troops we can deploy at once.

[Iden]: He’s right. The tunnels are narrow and would restrict our movement. We’d be better off sending a few scouts in there ahead of time to map out an escape route.

[Anaris]: Agreed.

Man, these guys are really in sync. Must be because they’ve been leading this resistance for a few years now. And to think that Anaris was desperately trying to kill his mom all those years ago.

[Wade]: What if we divert their attention to a single fixed point, and create a huge gap in their defenses while they’re distracted?

[Anaris]: It’s a crude plan, but they’d see us coming from a mile away. There would be no feasible way to get our army close enough to their wall without taking heavy casualties.

[Wade]: I know. That’s why I’d be willing to lead a small team to infiltrate the fortress and upload a virus to their automated defense systems while your clones keep them busy.

Your suggestion causes the other war table participants to pause for a moment. Hopefully that’s a good sign. If you can't think of a good plan, then Wendy might end up putting that gauntlet back on.

[Iden]: That’s actually not a terrible plan. And with the tunnel system as an escape route, we might be able to pull this off with minimal casualties.

[Anaris]: Yes, but he’d be faced with the full brunt of Validus’ security once he breaches through her wall. Unless he can find a way to do so discreetly.

[Wade]: You leave that to me.

[Iden]: Very well. Now we must decide what roles we are playing in this upcoming battle.

Who are you taking with you on your little infiltration team? (Pick 1 or 2)

[Wade]: Wendy, Iden, you’re with me.

[Wendy]: Damn straight!

Wendy flexes her arm to show off her well defined muscles.

[Iden]: A wise choice. I will begin creating the virus. In the meantime, you might want to retrieve your armor from my lab. I assume you remember the way back?

[Wade]: Of course.

[Anaris]: Then this meeting is adjourned. We deploy in 8 hours.

Anaris and Iden move away from the war table, leaving you, Wendy and Max in the room alone.

[Wade]: Well that’s a long wait. What’re we gonna do for 8 hours?

[Wendy]: Well we’re gonna prep the clones for deployment. You’re gonna get some damn rest instead of re-opening your wounds again.

She pokes your bandaged chest a little too hard with her artificial finger, causing you to flinch in pain. Max simply stands behind her nodding in approval.

[Wade]: One Time! I did it one time! It won’t happen again.

[Wendy]: Better not. Or else me and Trixy will kick your ass ourselves if we catch you out of bed again.

Since you don't feel like pissing off your sister and your A.I. in the same day, you swallow your pride and walk back to Iden’s lab. Once again, you grab the other clone’s attention as you make your way through the camp. It’s actually a little interesting to see what a young Max Tennyson could look like. Maybe you’ll look a little like him when you grow up.

You arrive at the lab that you woke up in, and you see your suit of armor lying on the same operating table that you were a few minutes ago. Someone must have moved it here.

You approach the suit and stretch your hand towards it, but something strange happens. The suit is shaking for some reason. Almost as if it were reacting to your presence.

Suddenly, several pieces of the armor’s chest area fly from the table and latches itself onto your chest with pinpoint accuracy.

[Wade]: The hell?

One by one, pieces of armor fly towards you with impressive speed, and connect together to form a complete suit of armor in mere seconds! This must be a new feature that Iden installed.

You wonder if it’s possible to do the reverse...

With a mental command, you thrust your fist forward, and send your gauntlet flying with the aid of built-in magnetic repulsors.

Cool! You have a rocket punch!

Before you recall it, you command the gauntlet to move around a bit on its own. It manages to hover in place and glide gently from side to side. Any erratic movement makes it a bit difficult to control. However, you do manage to make it use its wrist blasters, even while its away from you.

[Wade]: Oh yeah, this’ll definitely come in handy!

You recall your gauntlet and retract your armor back into a tiny compartment on your Omnitrix. Now that your little test run is over, you can finally get some rest. Even after sleeping for half the day on your way up here, you still feel exhausted. Hopefully, you won’t reopen your wounds on this rescue mission.

You can't afford to fail this time. Not when Rex's life is on the line.

(Cont.)

You’re woken up by the sound of leather boots rhythmically slapping against the pavement outside. They must be getting ready to deploy.

You rise from your bed and scratch your chest, carefully avoiding the stitches that Iden wove into your flesh. With a bit of difficulty, you pull yourself from your comfy bed and equip your armor once more. You definitely feel much better than you did yesterday, but you’re not exactly at 100% yet.

[Wendy]: We’re ready.

Your sister pushes the tent’s folds aside and peeks her head inside to see you. You silently nod in confirmation and collect the rest of your belongings before Wendy leads you to where the others are.

From the looks of things, it seems like you caught the tail end of Anaris’ big speech. Iden stands beside him on the podium with her arms folded behind her back. Once she spots you, she waves in your direction and flashes a small smile. Hopefully she’s finished constructing the virus by now.

[Anaris]: Now, let us march to victory!

His troops erupt into thunderous applause, and begin shouting war cries in support of their glorious leader. You have no idea what that speech was about, but judging from this reaction, it must’ve been something inspiring.
The majority of the resistance’s forces are loaded up into hover tanks and large transports, while they arrange a Hum-V for you and the rest of the infiltration team.

[Anaris]: Take caution, my friend. From here on out, we will maintain radio silence. You will be on your own.

>”We’ll be careful. Make sure you take care of yourself out there.”
>”Don't worry about us. You and Max just need to watch each other’s backs out there.”
>”Elena won’t know what hit her!”
>”I’m not alone, though. That’s the whole point of taking a team with you.”

[Wade]: I’m not alone, though. That’s the whole point of bringing a team with you.

A small grin spreads across his face as he crosses his arms together.

[Anaris]: Hm. I suppose you’re right.

You begin loading your supplies onto the transport and triple checking your equipment for any faults. You can’t afford to take another fatal blow.

Anaris waits patiently for you and the others to finish boarding the transport while his troops scatter and scramble to their stations.

[Wade]: We’ll be careful. Make sure you take care of yourself out there.

He nods firmly and turns his back to you as the jeep’s door closes. Since the others seem ready to begin the operation, you bang your armored fist on the jeep’s wall, alerting the driver that you wish to depart.

You strap yourself into your chair and take a deep breath as the jeep begins moving. Surprisingly, the wheels and engine make no noise. Hopefully that'll be enough to conceal you from the enemy, because there’s no going back now.

------------------------------

After about an hour, you see that you’re quickly approaching the Validus factory. The smoke that’s being exuded from the exhaust ports on the roofs of the facilities create a dark, ominous cloud that gives the area a depressing and gloomy environment. Automated drones patrol the skies as they glide through the thick smog with heavy weaponry installed. The only respite from this gloomy environment would appear to be the harsh artificial light that assaults your eyes through searchlights and cautionary signals.

[Wade]: Could they be trying any harder? This place just screams “Miserable Dystopian Future”.

[Iden]: Stay focused, Wade. We need to find a way to breach the factory’s walls when Anaris begins initiate’s his distraction.

That’s a good point. From the looks of the outermost wall of this factory, it’s gotta be at least several meters thick. You’re gonna need one of your heavy hitters to get through it. Unless you can cleverly find a way around the wall and those paroling it.

While the Jeep slows down to stop, you browse through your selection of aliens, before finally deciding on one. Wildmutt should do the trick!

You slap your hand onto the Omnitrix's core, flooding the vehicle with violet light and greatly altering your body in the process.

Your eyes recede into the back of your skull and you feel them slowly shrink until they disappear completely. Thick orange bristles stab at your flesh as in-grown hairs before they burst from beneath the thin layer of skin, forming a thick layer of fur. Your nails and teeth grow brittle and fall out, making way for a new set of razor sharp claws and fangs. But the most painful part is when your skeletal structure rearranges itself completely, truly changing you into a different creature altogether.

>You've become Wildmutt!

[Iden]: A Vulpimancer, huh? An interesting choice.

Before you can properly react, Iden stretches her arm towards you and slaps a strange device on your chest. You fight back the animalistic urge to roar loudly, as you nearly forget that this is a stealth mission.

[Iden]: Try to keep that on. It'll keep you concealed from the enemy's sensors once we exit the vehicle.

She equips the same device to her suit and hands another to Wendy.

Since you don't really have great manual dexterity in this form, Wendy opens the door for you and follows you outside with Iden.

[Wendy]: So, how's blind Clifford gonna get us in there?

You ignore Wendy and begin digging a deep hole in front of the wall with impressive speed. A few clumps of dirt hit your friends in the process, but you're far too focused on the task at hand to care. If possible, you wanna get out of here as soon as possible. The pungent stench of oil in the air is making you a bit sick.

After about a minute, you dig your way to the other side of the wall without attracting any attention. The others join you on the other side once you've made sure that the coast is clear.

[Iden]: Excellent work. It would seem that they haven't noticed the diversion team yet.

[Wendy]: Then we should get this over with before this shitstorm goes down.

You crawl out of the hole you dug and lower your body to the ground, allowing your allies to mount your back. You're not too crazy about being ridden like an animal, but it's pretty efficient in your current situation.

[Wendy]: Giddy up!

You utter a deep growl and leap onto the nearest structure in a single bound. Your sharp claws and powerful muscles allow you to traverse this industrial jungle with ease. With each and every leap, your worry of being discovered grows. You really hope the diversion team does their thing soon.

You land onto a rusty pipe, and your nails scrape against the rough metal surface ever so slightly in the tiniest clumsy movement. One of the robot workers moves his head upwards, and you prepare your body to pounce on him, should you be discovered.

(Cont.)
>>
However, he is distracted by a blaring alarm that rings out through the entire factory. The workers and guards begin to panic and scramble as their automated defenses come online. That must be your cue!

You leap onto the side of a tall building that Iden guided you to and use your claws to clamber up the smooth surface. You find a nearby window that has a peculiar scent emanating from it. Perhaps it's the computer room?

------------

You crawl through the window without making too much noise, and you notice that there are two figures stationed in the corner of the room, standing in front of a device that's giving off a significant amount of heat.

Once you confirm that they are alone in the room, you climb down to the floor and creep up behind the one that's closest. In one cruel motion, you tear the head off of one of the robots with your teeth, while Wendy shoves her fist through the other's chest. You carefully place them both of the floor as to avoid making too much noise.

[Iden]: You two work so well together! You make me so proud.

Both you and Wendy groan loudly as Iden climbs off your back and begins interfacing with the computer.

[Iden]: Uploading the virus now.

[Wendy]: See if you can find Rex, too.

You're glad she mentioned it, because you sure as hell can't in this form.

Suddenly, you raise your nose to the air and latch onto a lingering scent. Something is approaching you. And judging from the smell, he's expecting trouble. You can sense his anxiety, fear and anger, all sloshing around in one chemical admixture. What do you do about this?

>Set up an ambush and pounce on whatever is approaching you.
>Stash the bodies somewhere, grab the others and hide until the interloper leaves.
>Switch to another alien before they arrive.(Which one?)
>Distract the interloper while your friends work on uploading the virus. Preferably without being spotted or captured.
>Have Wendy disguise herself as a factory worker and convince the interloper to leave.

Without alerting the others, you leap onto a nearby wall and crawl upwards until you reach the ceiling. You need to keep the surprise authentic after all.

You patiently wait while Iden uploads the virus and the scent of the interloper grows ever closer. It would seem that Wendy has just noticed your absence, as she looks around frantically.

[Wendy]: Wade?! Where’d you go?

He’s here! And it looks like the interloper is...Biowulf?! He’s still alive? Those nanites are really working wonders for his body!

He crawls low to the ground, slowly creeping towards your sister, who doesn’t appear to be aware of his presence.

You hear his muscles tightening, as if he were preparing to pounce, so you lunge at him before he can do so. At the last moment, he looks up and attempts to dodge, but you’re already on him before he can properly react!

You slam your body onto the back of his head with the brunt of your entire weight behind it. He collapses to the ground and lets out a strained grunt as you push his head to the floor with your heavy paw.

[Biowulf]: Get off of me!

He groans and struggles beneath you, but to no avail. His metallic armor is clanking around a bit and scraping the floor, so you hope there isn't anyone nearby to assist him.

[Wendy]: Shit! We’ve got company, doc.

A little slow on the uptake, there.

[Iden]: Then deal with him.

Iden doesn’t even turn to face you or Biowulf. She doesn’t really seem to care about the interloper’s fate.

[Wendy]: It’s your call, bro.

You shake your head from side to side and point towards Wendy with your claw.

[Wendy]: Me?! Why me-

Her eyes go wide and she scratches her head in grief.

[Wendy]: Oh, right. You can’t talk.

[Iden]: He can. You’re just unable to understand him. Fortunately for the both of you, I am fluent in the Vulpimancer language.

How convenient! It’s interrogation time!

[Wendy]: Ask away, bro.

[Wade]: *Rabid dog noises*

[Iden]: He says, “Where are you keeping Rex?”

Iden continues typing away at the keyboard while she translates your language.

[Biowulf]: Validus “reprogrammed” him to be her personal plaything. And seeing as we’re under attack, he’s gotta be with her right about now.

So they’re joined at the hip, huh? That means you’ll be forced to confront Validus in order to rescue Rex. And you’ll most likely have to end up fighting both of them.

[Wade]: *Even more angry dog noises*

[Iden]: He says, “Are you alone?”

[Biowulf]: I’m never alone. Do you really think that Validus doesn’t know that you’re here?

You and Wendy glance over to each other, and you can hear her heart-rate steadily increasing.

[Biowulf]: She’s got us all chipped. Anything that we see and hear, she gets from the comfort of her throne room through the Hive Queen’s telepathic network. If you really want your friend back, she told me to tell you that “You’re welcome to try and take him”.

Before he can utter another word, you slam his face to the floor several times, until his body goes limp. It’s better to knock him out now so Elena can’t spy on you.

[Wendy]: Well shit…

This is isn’t good. Your cover’s already blown and you haven’t even finished uploading the virus yet. But if she knows that you’re here, shouldn’t this building be swarming with security by now?

[Wendy]: Hey doc, what’s the progress on that virus upload?

[Iden]: I should be done in just a-

Suddenly, a loud alarm blares at Iden and the screen in quickly filled with warnings and notifications.

[Iden]: ...Well that’s not good.

On this rare occasion, you see the early signs of panic forming on your Creator's face.

[Wendy]: What happened?!

[Iden]: This firewall is a tad bit more advanced than I expected it to be. I’m gonna need a minute here.

[Wendy]: You think Elena’s trying to block us?

You’ve got no idea. This whole situation is getting a little fishy.

[Iden]: I think you two should see this.

You time out and walk over to Iden, and you see a map of some sort displayed on the computer’s monitor.

[Wade]: I think she wants us to come and find her.

[Wendy]: It’s gotta be a trap, right? Why else would she jerk us around like this?

As much as i wanna rescue Rex as quickly as possible, the virus is vital to our plan. If we leave before the upload is complete, Iden could be attacked be one of Validus minions. We need to wait for now.

[Wade]: We’re not gonna let her take the lead on this. We should stay with Iden until the upload is finished.

You can’t help but notice Wendy’s worried expression, but she buries her emotions upon considering the situation at hand. You know how she feels, but you can’t afford to leave Iden alone and walk into an obvious trap.

----------------------

After about 10 minutes your anxiety has reached its peak, and you can barely stop your foot from tapping due to your impatience. Why isn’t Validus doing anything?! How are Anaris and Max fairing in their battle? You really hope they’re still okay. You've wasted enough time here already.

[Wendy]: Doc! You done yet?!

Wendy has given up on being subtle and sneaky since your cover had already been blown.

[Iden]: Almost finished. Just need another minute…

Despite the obvious danger and tension in the air, Iden seems to be greatly enjoying the challenge that’s being presented to her.

[Wendy]: Well hurry it up, will ya-

Your sister is suddenly wrapped in white bandages and pulled away from you by some sort of mutant. He sort of reminds you of Snare-Oh in the way that his body is comprised of bandages.

[Tuck]: Validus is getting tired of waiting.

The guy next to him looks to be some sort of mutant that shares some physical qualities reminiscent of a squid. And from the looks of it, he’s shooting a pressurized stream of black ink at you!

>Transform into an alien. (Which one?)
>Create a barrier to block the ink and fire back with your wrist cannons.

You instinctively erect a barrier combining your suit’s force field generator and your mana constructs. It feels a bit weird to use magic again, but it’s gonna take some getting used to after a year of inactivity.

The ink slams into your barrier with enough force to crack stone, but it doesn’t even make so much as a dent in your reinforced barrier. However, the black ink manages to cover the entirety of your barrier, limiting your vision and leaving you vulnerable.

You realize that you can’t afford to sit in place while they have have Wendy and Iden, so you take a gamble and leave the safety of your barrier.

In the corner of your eye, you spot the bandaged mutant quickly approaching you, using the bandages on his arms as spider legs to lift himself off the ground and close the gap between the two of you.

He grabs your leg in an attempt to capture you, but with a quick flick of your wrist, you whip out your plasma blasters and reliate by shooting him in the chest with a concentrated burst. You notice that the squid mutant is attempting to fire another jet of ink at you, so you prepare to dodge it yet again. However, it would appear as if Wendy has broken through her bindings and put the squid in a vicious chokehold, forcing him to swallow the ink back down. He struggles to break free, but your sister’s augmented strength is a little too much for him to handle. Eventually, his body goes limp and she tosses him aside.

The bandaged mutant attempts to get back up, but is put back down by you and Wendy firing your blasters at him simultaneously.

[Wendy]: Well, that was easy.

Now that’s something you should never say on a crucial mission.

[Iden]: Ah-hah! I’ve finished the virus upload! Validus’ automated defenses should be down for the count. Now all we have to do is-

A giant pair of arms suddenly burst through the computer screen and grab hold of Iden, before viciously ripping her in half.

[Wendy]: Doc!

The large creature tosses both pieces of your cybernetic creator towards you before he steps into the light for you to get a better look at him. Oh god. Is that-?!

[Wade]: Vilgax?!

You’ve heard stories about him, but you thought he was dead. How is he here?!

[Iden]: It’s “The Beast”. Get out of here-here-here-here-zzt-

She’s going into shock! You need to get her out of here. Hell, YOU need to get out of here.

>Fight him off with one of your aliens while Wendy escapes with Iden.(Septic Shock)

Without hesitation, you scoop up Iden’s upper half, while Wendy takes her lower half, and the two of you turn around and haul it right out of that room. But of course, Vilgax is not far behind.

He slams through a wall in an attempt to cut you off, but the two of you are too in sync to be caught off guard with a trick like that.

Wendy slides between his legs, and you hop over him with your rocket boots while he’s distracted. You narrowly avoid a fierce backhand from him as you land back on the ground, but you don’t dare to turn back to see what he’s doing.

[Iden]: Look out! He’s charging!

You turn your head to see Vilgax charging down the hallway like a mad bull, with the ground cracking and crumbling beneath his feet. Despite your lead on him, it looks like he’ll catch up to you in no time.

[Wendy]: Oh, fuck this!

Your sister equips her sonic cannon and blasts the ground before her, creating a massive hole. The both of you jump straight down, right before Vilgax’s clammy green hands can reach you.

You land on the next floor down and continue running, only to be cut off by Vilgax again after the ceiling above you collapses. His red glowing eyes pierce through the smoke and debris that floats through the air as his massive frame lumbers towards you.

Wendy points her sonic cannon at a wall and blows another hole through it, allowing the two of you to jump through it and enter the next room over. Vilgax plows through the same wall with little to no effort.

[Wendy]: This fucking-!

Wendy proceeds to repeat the same process several times over, with Vilgax following close beside you. However, at some point you lose sight of him completely. The two of you take a moment to catch your breath and calmly assess the situation.

[Wade]: Did we lose him?

Suddenly, a large pair of hands reaches through the ground, grabs your foot and pulls the two of you down to the next floor. Dammit, he outmaneuvered you!

You struggle to reach for your belt, but you can’t seem to reach it due to Vilgax holding you by your waist. He squeezes you tight, and you hear your armor creaking and cracking from the strain. Wendy gasps desperately for air and tries to pry Vilgax’s big, meaty hands away from her throat. You feel so helpless. You’ve never known terror like this.

(Cont.)
>>
Just then, you see a brown, horned beast fly past you and tackle Vilgax, causing you and Wendy to fly backwards and slam into a wall. Once you regain your composure, you peek through the hole that was left by the attacker, and you see Anaris going toe to toe with Vilgax!

[Anaris]: Go! Stop Validus! I’ll hold him off!

Anaris pulls out a large, hefty mace and clobbers Vilgax with it. Each hit causes the very ground to shake from the force. But after the fourth swing, Vilgax’s arm splits off into numerous slimy tentacles and grabs the mace mid-swing. He snatches the weapon from Anaris and smacks him so hard that he flies into the wall on the other side of the room. Vilgax runs towards him, hoping to repeat the attack, but is strangely met by a stream of fire from Anaris’ mouth. You never knew he could do that! This is a battle between giants!

[Wendy]: Wade! We gotta go!

You turn to your sister and snap out of your trance once you see her pained expression. You realize that you’ve been standing here staring at the two of them fight for a fairly long time. And then your eyes drift down to Iden’s crippled frame. You know that it wouldn't be right to leave her like that, but this is your chance to bring down Elena! What should you do?

You hand your half of Iden over to Wendy and gently place your hand on her arm.

[Wade]: Take her back to Max and the others. I’m gonna go get Rex.

[Wendy]: Alone? You must be out of your damn mind if you th-!

You race down the hallway towards the location that was marked on the map from before.

[Wade]: It’s not up for debate! Take care of her and be careful!

[Wendy]: Hey! Get back here!

She considers chasing you, but quickly changes her mind when she feels the weight of her mother in her arms. As much as she claims that she hates the doc, you know that she’d never leave her to die. Now all you have to worry about it is facing one of your closest friends and a psycho nanite queen. No pressure…

------------------

Once you arrive at the designated location, you move cautiously with your hand hovering over the Omnitrix. The room’s layout has a stark contrast with the rest of the factory’s design. Instead of being grimy and pungent with the scent of oil, it seems clean, polished and artificial. It actually reminds you of a space station with the numerous blinking consoles and drones flying through the air. And let’s not forget to mention the random bursts of steam that pop up around you in random places. Really gives off a creepy “Alien” vibe.

[Elena]: Ah, so you’ve finally arrived. And here I thought that you stood me up.

You turn to see a figure floating towards you on a hovering throne. She’s not the Elena that you remember, that’s for sure.

Her skin is now made of a grey and black synthetic material, and she doesn't seem to have pupils. She possesses several black horns on the top of her head, and you can’t help but think that Aku inspired that fashion statement. Looks like she’s fully merged with her nanites.

[Elena]: But you’re not here for me, are you? I bet...that you’re here to take my pet away from yet again.

A wicked smile spreads across her face as a mind-controlled Rex stands beside her with a blank expression. He’s even got red eyes. Could this be any more cliche?

[Wade]: He’s not yours to take.

[Elena]: Oh yes he is. After you so cruelly abandoned him, I took him in out of the goodness of my heart. You should’ve seen him out there, shivering in the cold, struggling to survive.

You find that hard to believe. Seeing her pretend to be a kind and charitable soul is making you sick to your stomach.

[Wade]: I didn’t abandon anybody. I fell into a coma, for God’s sake!

[Elena]: Your excuses won't sway his heart, X. Not after we've had so much time to "bond". I think I’ll let him do the honors of destroying you. It’ll be...poetic.

She snaps her fingers and Rex immediately transforms his hands into a giant pair of cybernetic axes.

[Wade]: Rex... you don’t wanna do this.

He leaps at you without hesitation, and you can see a scowl forming on his face.

[Wade]: Okay, so maybe you do!

You quickly transform into Thriller Whale and sidestep his attack. Been a while since you’ve used this guy. Feels good to get back to your roots.

[Wade]: You’ve gotta snap out of it, Rex! Don’t let her tell you what to do.

You finely tune your sonar to sound exactly like a song from a game based around rebellion. Maybe you'll let Rex borrow it after this is all over. You really hope this works…

[Wade]: Rise up!

You blast your song directly into his ears, causing him to crouch low to the ground and clutch his head in pain.

At first you think it’s because you made it too loud, but then you hear him muttering something under his breath.

[Rex]: No...can’t...think...I-

It’s working! Time to crank up the noise!

You raise the volume and Rex screams in retaliation. He’s fighting the nanite queen’s control with everything he’s got!

[Elena]: No, this is impossible! What’s happening?!

[Rex]: I...I…

Elena creeps closer to Rex with a look of concern.

[Elena]: Rex? Darling...?

Just then, Rex backhands her with his enlarged metal fist and sends her flying across the room!

[Rex]: I love that song!

He’s back! That smug grin on his face is a sight for your sore eyes.

[Wade]: Welcome back, buddy.

[Rex]: What took you so long?!

You figured he'd be upset. Anyone would after what he's been through.

[Wade]: It's a long story, but we'll talk later.

Elena pulls herself up whilst holding her hand against her face. She shoots a menacing glare your way, and you see that her face has been severely damaged by Rex’s surprise attack. She kinda reminds you of a T-800 right now.

[Elena]: I’ll tear you apart! Both of you!

Her face quickly heals from the damage, as she rises to her feet and raises her hand to the air.

[Wade]: What's she doing?

[Rex]: Look out!

You turn around to see a giant mechanical tentacle swiping at you from your right. You attempt to avoid it, but Rex manages to pull you aside and protect you with some sort of force field that he’s created from his arms. That's a new one!

You managed to get out safely, but Rex was sent flying by the sudden attack. And it looks like it's coming back around for you!

You duck and roll underneath the metallic tentacle and fire a concentrated sonar blast at Elena. But right before it hits her, she pulls her body apart and allows it to pass harmlessly through her.

You attempt to fire another shot at her, but you’re stopped immediately by the metal arm coming back around, grabbing you from behind and tossing you into a computer console.

Your thick, rubbery skin manages to mitigate some of the damage, but too much blunt trauma can still knock you out cold. While you lay there and recuperate from being tossed around, the mechanical arm moves to descend upon you and crush your miniature frame. However, Rex manages to grab the arm and pull it away from you with his Smack Hands.

[Rex]: I got this! You get the itsy bitsy bug queen over there.

You nod to Rex and run back towards Validus with reckless abandon. She, however, finds the entire situation to be amusing.

[Elena]: Do you really think that you can defeat me in that feeble form?

[Wade]: Bloator is anything but feeble!

She suddenly abandons her defensive stance and you can see a confused expression growing on her face.

[Elena]: ...What?

And even though Rex is in the midst of using his sawblade to fight off the mechanical arm, even he pauses to ponder your statement.

[Rex]: What?

While she's distracted, you charge up your sonar and try to get a feel for the frequency that the nanites are vibrating at. If you can match it, then you might be able to take them all out at once!

You let loose a series of consecutive, but powerful vibrations that imitate the noise of a bellowing whale. At first, your sonic attack doesn’t seem to have much of an effect on Elena. However, as you finely tune your sonar using the information you receive from sensing the vibrations in the air, the effects of your attack becomes much more devastating.

[Elena]: W-what are you-?!

She morphs her hand into a large hammer and attempts to clobber you with it, but her entire hand disintegrates once it gets within 5 feet of you. Obviously perplexed by the strange phenomenon, she tries to harm you once more by forming a pile of nanites into a car and sending it hurtling towards you. But unfortunately for her, the result is the same as before.

You think you’ve finally found her frequency! Now, it’s time to finish her off!

You strain your already labored mind and raise the intensity of your sonar blast to the highest possible degree. Rex covers his ears and recoils in pain, as your frequency seems to be affecting his nanites as well, but to a much lesser degree.

Elena makes several attempts to reach you as you broadcast your frequency, but each of her nanite constructs fall apart within several seconds of being constructed. And not only that, but you notice that she’s been losing chunks of herself as she limps towards you. It would seem that she’s having a great deal of trouble keeping her body intact during this time.

It feels like the room that you’re standing in is growing rather unstable as well. Perhaps she used nanites to construct the room and tailor it to her liking? Either way, you’re going to destroy it all.

[Elena]: I will...not fall...here!

Suddenly, she extends her hand towards you and tightly grips your Omnitrix symbol with all the strength she has left in that fragile form of hers. She must be changing her own frequency to avoid crumbling to dust upon making contact with you! The clever witch!

[Wade]: A tiny inconvenience, really. All I have to do is adjust the-

Just then, a sharp pain shoots through your skull, and you’re brought to your knees by an unusual attack from Elena.

[Wade]: W-what’s happening?

Elena’s wicked laughter fills the room, and her body slowly regenerates the damage that you’ve dealt to it.

[Elena]: Did you really think I wouldn’t think of a way to disable that Omnitrix after all these years? I saved it as a last resort, should you resort to your usual antics. I hope that you like it~.

You can barely form the words to retort her taunts as you clutch your head in pain. What’d she do to you? Is this a virus or something?

[Trixy]: Virus detected. Firewalls 1 through 3 have been breached. Initiating antivirus countermeasures.

Well that answers that question. Hopefully Trixy can deal with this problem before-

[Trixy]: Countermeasures failed. Firewalls breached. Systems failing. Self-destruct sequence activated.

That doesn't sound good. There has to be a way to stop this!

[Trixy]: Deploying last resort. Opening “Pandora’s Box”.

And that sounds even worse! You have no idea what's going on anymore.

[Elena]: At last, the Omnitrix is….wait…

Elena’s smile quickly fades when the starts making weird noises and flashing erratically. You’re as surprised as she is right now.

[Elena]: No no no no! This isn’t supposed to happen!

And just like that, a violent explosion devastates the room with a purple flash, and you watch as Elena’s crippled frame disintegrates before your eyes.

And then....nothing.

---------------------------

When you open your eyes again, you see a bright orange light filtering through the holes riddled within the heavy debris that lay atop your sore and aching human body. Well, the good news is that you survived being blown up. Hopefully, Rex did too.

You push the debris from your body and struggle to rise to your feet. God, your head feels like it’s been split open. You wonder if the Omnitrix is still intact.

You look down to see that the Omnitrix is still in one piece. But the logo on the faceplate is different. Instead of an hourglass, it’s one of those Biohazard symbols. You hope that dorsn;t mean anything bad.

Your attention is suddenly drawn to something moving in the rubble and wreckage, so you go to investigate the situation. It better not be Validus…

[Rex]: Ugh…did we win?

It’s Rex! You push the rubble off of him, sling his arm over your shoulder and pull him to his feet.

Just then, the ground begins to shake as a mound of warped metal begins to move in a strange manner. And you’re pretty sure you know why.

[Wade]: I don’t think so…

A gigantic Elena rises from the wreckage, horribly disfigured and monstrous in appearance. She possesses various pieces of sharp, twisted metal arranged in the form of teeth, and she appears to be using steel beams as a skeletal frame, while a pair of damaged searchlights act as a substitute for her eyes.

[Rex]: Yeah, this is looking like a “final phase” sort of scenario. Think your belt can save our sorry hides?

Considering the Omnitrix just blew up and went into super cooldown, you highly doubt that-

[Trixy?]: G͓̜̪̐͆̈͝ͅo̺̳͌ȉ͖̺̩̋̈́̉͟n͕͉̂̊̃g̯̰͊͡ ̫̊͞V̗̗͑̚į̨̺̹͑̔̍̕ȑ̫̘̤̂͘a̮̳̻͛͛l̨̥̇͂

If you have any chance of getting out of this alive, it’s by using the Omnitrix. Even if it’s functioning strangely.

You select the icon that looks the most similar to Zipmunk, and slam your hand down onto the Omnitrix core once it pops up. In a flash of violet light, you undergo your transformation into the lovable rodent. However, something feels different.

You feel aggressive. Confident. Fearless, even! You feel as if nothing can hurt you! In fact, it would appear that you’re overflowing with energy. Your little rodent heart is beating faster than you can process. You just can’t seem to calm down!

>You’ve become Viral Zipmunk!

[Wade]: You dare challenge me?! I am the mightiest!

Your lower jaw is chattering uncontrollably, and you can feel your mouth foaming up with every word that you utter. You’re absolutely certain that you have rabies or something. But y’know what?

You don’t care!

Elena responds by swinging her massive arms down on top of you. As if that’d work!

>Gather the metal particles in the air and use it to become a living, electrified buzzsaw!

You swiftly dodge her attack by coating yourself in energy and gliding alongside her arm. She’ll never hit you with anything that slow!

[Wade]: That all you got?! Now it’s my turn.

You fly up into the sky and prepare to unleash all of the energy you’ve built up in one fatal strike. You can barely hold yourself back from laughing maniacally as ominous storm clouds gather overhead and cover the factory in gloom and shadow.

[Wade]: I warned you!!!

In a single flash of chaotic and wicked illumination, the sky explodes with crackling energy, and creates what can only be described as a pillar of light. And with you in the center of it, you direct the flow of that energy right through Elena’s monstrous frame.

She attempts to shield herself from the blast, but the wicked lightning bolt simply rips through her arm and goes right through her chest. And in one last shameless whimper, Elena’s body erupts into charred debris and warped scrap metal, leaving nothing left of her.

[Wade]: And good riddance.

On the way back down, you get incredibly dizzy and time out a few moments before you can reach the ground. That transformation really took alot out of you.

Your legs nearly buckle underneath your weight, but Rex arrives to catch you just in time.

[Rex]: What was that?!

The exhaustion makes it difficult for you to speak.

[Wade]: I dunno. But it was cool, wasn’t it?

Rex smiles and slings your arm over his shoulder as the two of you limp away from the wreckage.

[Rex]: The coolest!

----------------------

A few moments later, you and Rex run into a group of clones pinned down by the factory’s armed guards. Rex gently leans you against a wall and activates his Slam Cannon.

[Rex]: One sec.

He scoops up a chunk of brick and crushed metal, loads it into his cannon and fires it directly at the enemy’s cover, destroying it entirely.

Just then, a vehicle pulls up beside you. And it looks exactly like the one you rode in when you arrived. The trunk opens to reveal Wendy and a dismembered Iden waiting inside.

[Wendy]: Get in! We’re getting the hell out of dodge!

She quickly becomes distracted when she notices that Rex is beside you, and the two of them sit in silence as they stare at one another amidst the carnage of battle.

[Rex]: What’s up, Hot Topic? Miss me?

Rex is the first to break the ice between them. And he does so with an unabashed smile.

[Wendy]: Eat shit, Deviantart.

The two of them take jabs at each other and Wendy extends a hand to pull Rex into the vehicle. You follow soon after him, and the vehicle pulls off.

[Iden]: I’m glad to see that you’re both still alive.

Iden looks pretty banged up, but the jeep’s on-board medic seems to be doing a good job of piecing her back together.

[Rex]: Yeah, me too.

Rex runs his hand through his hair and breathes a sigh of relief now that he’s out of Elena’s clutches.

Before you can finish your sentence, Anaris flies past the car and creates a massive crater with his body. He lays motionless, groaning in pain.

You look at at what tossed him, and you see what you can only describe as an Eldritch Abomination of sorts that shares some physical qualities of a squid. His skin is black as night. Almost as if the very concept of light was absent to him. Is that Vilgax?! What happened to him?

[Wendy]: I don’t think he’s gonna let us leave…

You can see Wendy preparing to equip a golden gauntlet that she pulled from her bag. Is that the Amalgamatrix?! You thought she left it back at the base.

You grab her wrist before she can equip the gauntlet and pull her aside.

[Wade]: No, I'll handle this.

Her expression is one of confusion and frustration. She really doesn't like being sidelined.

[Wendy]: Like hell you will! That guy nearly clobbered us a few minutes ago. Do you even have a plan?

[Rex]: I haven't met a single bad guy that Wade couldn't beat. I think we should trust him on this.

Rex places a hand on Wendy's shoulder, causing her to flinch from the sudden contact. She looks back at him and back to you, before she sighs deeply and averts her gaze to the floor.

[Wendy]: You better have a plan.

[Wade]: I do.

You really don't. But that's never stopped you before.

[Wade]: You guys grab Anaris and get out of here. I'll follow you after I deal with this guy.

Everyone except Rex nods to you, who seems to be staring at Anaris as he pulls himself off of the ground.

[Rex]: Man. This car is about to get real cramped real soon.

You turn your back to your friends and pray that they can escape safely. You're not even sure if you'll get out of this alive. But you guess that's what it means to be a hero.

[Wade]: Alright Trixy, let's do this! Do the thing.

[Trixy]: G͓̜̪̐͆̈͝ͅo̺̳͌ȉ͖̺̩̋̈́̉͟n͕͉̂̊̃g̯̰͊͡ ̫̊͞V̗̗͑̚į̨̺̹͑̔̍̕ȑ̫̘̤̂͘a̮̳̻͛͛l̨̥̇͂

You don't really understand what this function does, but what you do know is that is makes your aliens stronger. Much stronger. And you wonder what it'll do for your old pal Wildfire!

[Wade]: It's Show Time!

You slam your hand down onto the Omnitrix and brace for the immediate change to your genetic structure. Your teeth grow into sharp fangs, and your nails are replaced by claws that can tear through steel with ease. Your kerosene-slicked fur grows through your flesh in an instant, and you feel your muscles growing larger and denser.

However, your transformation feels different this time around.

You can feel flaming hot boils forming along your skin, whilst the other uncovered parts of your flesh begin to form a solid crusty layer over them, akin to molten rock. Your throat feels inflamed as a thick mucus as hot as molten magma forms within your body. If Vilgax doesn't kill you, then this fever sure will!

>You've become Viral Wildfire!

The imposing giant known as Vilgax notices your arrival and jumps to the ground to meet you. He's a black mass of writhing tentacles and muscle, towering over every fleeing clone that runs past you.

You stare each other down for a short while, before Vilgax dashes towards you. He's making the first move!

You sink your claws deep into the earth, focus on the heat that flows from your body, and allow it to travel to your fingers. The once rigid earth grows hot and malleable as it swells from the heat that melts from below.

And once Vilgax is close enough, you unleash a molten tidal wave of massive proportions. He’s caught off guard by your attack and attempts to escape, but he’s too slow to react! The lava overtakes him and drowns his body in magma as he struggles to escape. But you’re not letting him off that easy.

You absorb the heat from the magma, allowing it to quickly cool and harden into a solid material. A couple tons of solid igneous rock should keep him busy for a little while. In the meantime, you think you’ll take your leave.

As you flee from the scene, you can hear him cracking and breaking the rock that you’d buried him in. You don’t doubt that you’ll see him again. But you’re not scared. You’ll be ready for him next time.

-------------------------

You time out a few minutes after you catch up with the others, but you’re a bit thankful that they didn't go too far without you. You were able to sniff them out with Wildfire, even though your nose was pretty stuffed in that Viral form.

[Rex]: You made it!

Your team is incredibly happy to see you unharmed.

[Max]: Were you followed?

Looks like Max got out safely too. You wonder what the rest of his brothers think about him running around dressed as a kangaroo-themed superhero.

[Wade]: Nope. I slipped away before he could see where I went.

[Wendy]: You really beat Vilgax?

[Iden]: Of course he did. I would expect nothing less from my creation.

Wendy whistles loudly, and you can hear it echoing throughout the tunnels.

[Wendy]: Gotta hand it to you, bro. Didn’t think you had it in you.

[Anaris]: Indeed. You’ve gotten much stronger since we’ve last met.

[Rex]: I’ll say! Like, what’s up with those new transformations?

To tell the truth, you aren’t even sure how you’re doing this. It all started when Elena messed with the Omnitrix. You didn’t even think the Omnitrix could get viruses.

[Wade]: No idea. Let’s ask Trixy.

[Trixy]: You called for me?

[Wade]: Yeah. Can you tell me what’s going on with my transformations?

Everyone huddles a little closer around you in order to hear the explanation.

[Trixy]: Certainly. Elena somehow managed to infect the Omnitrix with a virus that was capable of erasing my operating system and corrupting the DNA samples stored within. And it would have succeeded in carrying out its purpose, had I not activated “Pandora’s Box”.

[Wade]: Oh yeah, I heard you mention that before. What is it?

[Trixy]: A failsafe created by Azmuth. Should any sort of virus break through the Omnitrix’s firewalls, Pandora’s Box will contain the virus and reprogram it to protect the OS from any additional attacks. In short, Elena’s virus works for me now.

[Iden]: That’s astounding!

Iden shouts into your ear with her sudden outburst, before regaining her composure and clearing her throat. Even Anaris was surprised by that one.

[Iden]: For a Galvan creation, I mean.

Iden’s pride aside, you’re genuinely impressed by this hidden feature. Azmuth secretly made the most advanced antivirus in the galaxy and didn’t even tell you anything about it. How rude!

[Trixy]: Since I do not possess the ability to erase the virus completely, I thought I would use it to our advantage. Hence, the “Viral Forms”.

[Rex]: But I still don’t get how corrupting DNA samples makes them stronger.

[Trixy]: I am not actually corrupting the samples themselves. The Viral Forms are the product of thousands of simulations being run in a nanosecond, so that they can produce the data required to create a cloned copy of the original DNA sample from Elena's nanites, but with deteriorated health conditions. This would normally go against the Omnitrix's main priorities, but Elena's virus allows us to bypass the Omnitrix's subroutines to a certain extent.

Holy run-on sentence, Batman!

[Wendy]: So Elena's nanomachines makes Wade's aliens sick, and that somehow makes them stronger?

[Trixy]: So long as they're useful to him, yes.

[Rex]: Welcome to the nanite infested club, Wade.

Rex becomes excited at the thought of having someone to relate to.

[Max]: I wouldn't trust anything that came out of that witch. I'd be careful with that virus if I were you.

[Anaris]: I agree with Max. It's never wise to underestimate your enemies.

Rex rolls his eyes at them as a smug grin spreads across his face.

[Rex]: Oh yeah. I bet she also planned on getting blown up by a flea-ridden squirrel with rabies, too.

Rex seems a bit guilty after he makes his casual wisecrack at your expense.

[Rex]: No offense.

[Wade]: None taken.

You aren’t sure how to feel about having a super-virus stuck in the Omnitrix, but you don’t particularly mind so long as it works for you. Trixy's really outdone herself today!

And now for the most awkward part of this mission. And that's attempting to explain something that you don't fully understand yourself.

[Wade]: Hey Rex, I feel like I owe you an explanation. You deserve to know what I’ve been up to these past two weeks.

Rex swallows hard and adopts a serious expression as he braces for the big news, while Wendy simply laughs to herself and places her hands on her hips.

[Wendy]: Okay everybody, try not to lose your shit. Because this is gonna be a real doozy.

[Iden]: I think we've seen more than our fair share of absurdity, Subject 09.

Anaris nods in agreement and the two of them cross their arms in unison, while Rex impatiently waits for you to continue.

[Rex]: Whatever it is, I can take it.

Well, here goes nothing...

[Wade]: I think I've been time traveling in my sleep. Like, alot. I call them "Daydreams".

Aside from Wendy, everyone’s eyes go wide and their jaws hang open in disbelief.

[Wendy]: Told ya.

(To be continued...)

Thanks for playing! I’ll be creating a new thread later today at 4pm EDT! As promised, I’ll be running sessions today and tomorrow.

I will be adding in the profiles for the Viral Forms later today as well. In the meantime, have a pastebin detailing some of the heroes and villains that Wade has run into during the timeskip. You’ll meet them and many more in the next season, so look forward to it!

Forgot to mention that I will be adding more profiles to the database pastebin later today. I hope you guys are enjoying the quest so far. Are there any aliens that you'd like to see Viral Forms for? What do you think of Viral Forms as an addition to Wade's powerset? I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Thanks for running Man! I really like this quest, and that's coming from someone who wasn't the biggest fan of ben 10 growing up. I've even been considering give the show a try again just because of this quest.
I liked the Viral forms, thought i still am a bit wary about them because of their virus origin. Doesn't mean i don't think they're pretty damn cool. The alien i would like the most to see gaining a Viral Form is Thriller Whale. He is my favorite by a large margin.

And that's awesome to hear, man! I'm glad to hear that people have still been enjoying the quest. I hadn't included Thriller Whale amongst the transformations because I wasn't too sure how to usefully adapt his power. But that doesn't mean I won't add him, along with a few others in the future

Thriller Whale is also one of my favorites, along with Snotrocket and Zipmunk. Mostly due to how fun it is to write for their powerset.

I hope you decide to pick up the series someday.
