Last time on Isekai Forever, our protagonist Tomoya stumbled upon an underground fighting ring. The fight club happened to be ruled over by a scumbag champion named Ouji Sotaro, a stand user using his ability to crush his helpless opposition. Driven by a desire to throw this despicable arena into disarray and knock the kind of trash who'd use a stand on innocent people down a peg, Tomoya enters the fight in hopes of beating down the champ in his own game.

Tomoya's Goals:
1. Crush Sotaro Ouji and destroy the illegal fighting ring.
2. Remember and complete the job your Capo, Velio Liberati, assigned to you.
3. Explore the abilities of your stand, 「The Man Who Sold the World」, and power him up.
4. Decide what to do about the many dangers lurking in the quiet town of Morioh.
>>
You spend some time in the crowd during your downtime after the fight. After having snatched up your prize, all you're really interested in doing is spectating. The fights aren't anything that thrilling though. It seems like right now they're primarily pitting new combatants up against one another, and they all seem pretty mediocre. It's weird to think that most of them could've crushed you in a fight before, but now they're so weak to you that you're seeing them as background characters.

It isn't long before your next fight begins. Once again, you treat it less as a fight and more as a learning opportunity. Even seeming to be something of an experienced fighter, your opponent stands no chance against you. It only hits home even more just how unfair a fight between a stand user and a normal person is. However, you do carefully watch the champ while you fight. The more you test it, the more confident you are that Sotaro can't see your stand at all. Hopefully you can make use of that factor to beat him.

Unfortunately for you, the fight lasts longer than expected. You spend quite a while beating down the guy in front of you, but his endurance is astounding. Unlike everyone you've beaten down until this point, your stands blows simply don't do enough damage to keep him down. This isn't bad because it puts you at risk of losing, he still doesn't stand a chance. It's bad because you just find the experience unpleasant. You're reaching a point where the guy is likely to start sustaining permanent damage if you keep beating him down, and it's painfully obvious to everyone that he's losing one way or another.

Watching as the poor guy has to lean on a bench just to stand after one of your punches, you get absolutely sick of it and turn to face the announcer. "Call the match!", you shout out, folding your arms. "Call the match now, I've won. I'm tired of fighting a man who's already lost!"

The announcer starts to respond, but he's cut off by Sotaro standing up and pushing his way through his bodyguards, laughing boisterously. He's covering his face, looking up at the roof of the parking garage. When he looks back down at you, he shouts loud enough to fill the garage with noise, "I can't believe I thought this loser actually posed a threat to me!" Initially he seems bemused, but as you look closer you can tell he's really irritated just from the look on his face. It seems like you've somehow disappointed him. "Here's a tip, newbie! The fight ends when one fighter either gives up or can't fight anymore. You knew the rules! If you can't handle giving a punk a concussion, you should've never stepped into my ring."

You give him a spiteful look as the announcer tries to pick up where he left off after a moment of silence. "Well ah... I believe our champ has said it better than I ever could've! The fight isn't over until he collapses or gives up, and it doesn't look like this competitor is planning on tapping out anytime soon! How is Petri going to respond?"
>>
Faced with this situation, the decision isn't easy...

>Just knock him out now. The announcer made a big deal about this being a guy who fights just to get by, but even if he doesn't seem like a bad person you have more important matters to deal with. You just hope the hospital bills and possible brain damage won't send him spiraling down a hole he can't escape from.
>Give up. You're not about to do this to a guy who's done absolutely nothing wrong. You're not like these people. If you beat him this way then you're no better than the people running this place. You'd just be using and abusing people for the sake of your own goals, and that's just not right.
>Pull your punches and try to convince him to give up. One way or another, you'll end up winning. Ideally, you'll be able to convince the guy that giving up is his best choice. If not, at the very least you might be able to drain him so much that he'll collapse on his own without any serious injuries.

You breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, trying to relax yourself. Instead of doing anything rash, you go for the safest strategy you have available. You start to hit your opponent more gently, exclusively in places where you don't think you'll do too much damage. It takes more out of you and you have to focus a lot harder, but you eventually manage to get back into a stable rhythm.

Seeing that he's started to recover to a point where you think he's lucid, you start talking to the guy. "Listen, buddy. You can't win this. I've had you on the back foot for this entire fight."

Giving you an exhausted look, he spits out, "Nuh-uh. I'll outlast you. I don't know what the fuck this even is but... whatever you're doing will tire you out eventually... I just have to last..."

Just from his voice you can tell he's pushing himself far beyond what could remotely be considered healthy. Your voice cracks slightly as you plead, "Just give up! You don't want me to hurt you anymore! I can't even promise that I haven't already given you serious brain damage, if you don't give up now you're going to--"

You only barely manage to stumble out of the way of something behind you as you're cut off. One of the benches making up the ring has been suddenly kicked in, and you tumble onto your ass as a result. Looking up, you see that Ouji Sotaro has stepped into the ring and is giving you a nasty look. While everyone around mostly looks confused, including yourself, Sotaro reaches into a coat he put on after his match. It loosely covers his bare chest, and your survival instincts go haywire as he pulls a handgun out of it, showing it to you.

The room is absolutely silent as he speaks to you, and you're too stunned to do anything but listen and make silent plans for how you'll avoid being shot. "I'm sure you can tell what this is, gangster. Since we're apparently letting pussies into my ring now, I may as well teach you a lesson." To your surprise, he aims the pistol squarely at the man you were put up against instead of you. "Don't put up your fists unless you plan to fight. Don't even fight unless you plan to hurt someone."

You realize that you should stop him just a moment too late. As you try to stumble up onto your feet, you watch Sotaro pull the trigger, shooting his target in the chest. The poor guy collapses onto the floor as the whole garage goes silent. The only sound after this is that of Sotaro walking back over to his seat, and telling everyone, "Petri is the winner. Now can we move on to a fight I can actually stomach watching?"
>>
In the short silence that follows, you have to decide what you're going to do about all of this.

>This is absolutely inexcusable. You don't know if that shot was lethal, but it doesn't matter. He can't just shoot an innocent person like that! It's wrong, it's disgusting, it's absolutely abhorrent! You refuse to let a person like this stand for even a moment longer! You're challenging the champion, and he's going down now!
>You're appalled. This shows just how awful and shady this operation is. Which is exactly why you need to calm down and just accept this win. They'll have to put you up against Sotaro eventually, you just have to stay composed, even if what he did was horrible.
>You're done. This is just too much. To hell with your plan to take him down personally, you're going to the police and telling them all about this. It's not your job to deal with these kinds of people anyway.

Sorry about the radio silence. A close family member got into a pretty nasty car accident recently, and this quest hasn't exactly been the first thing on my mind.

I'm going to try to continue things tomorrow. Not sure whether I'll start a new thread or just try to keep this one going though. Should I just write this off as a failed thread and try again? I could just recap the events here in another thread. Or maybe retcon them.

You're pissed. You're unbelievably pissed right now. But you still have your priorities. Instead of trying to deck Sotaro like you want to right now, you step toward the guy he just shot, looking down at him. Thankfully, he's still breathing, and you don't think any vital organs got hit. Nevertheless, you step right up to the desk the announcer is sitting behind and grab him by the collar with your stand, lifting him up. With the most ice cold fury you think you've ever felt before, you tell him, "You're going to get some kind of a medical team for my opponent. I don't care if you have a medical team here or you have to call in paramedics, but if this guy bleeds out tonight then he's not going to be the only one. Got it?"

"L-listen man--" The announcer stumbles over his words as he looks you in the eyes, his spindly arms weakly raising up in a defensive posture. "You- you got it! I'll do what I can, just-- just don't blame me. I- I don't even know who these guys are, the old dude just said he liked my voice and gave me fifty thousand to do this job and keep quiet! I didn't know anyone was gonna get shot!" You're pretty sure he's being honest, especially since none of the armed guards nearby seemed to care about you grabbing him, so you let him go. The moment you drop him, he scrambles off and has a panicked conversation with one of the guards idly standing around the place.

With that out of the way, you step back into the ring and fold your arms, waiting for the guy to be treated. The announcer is on his mic before long, telling the crowd that there'll be a short delay before the next match. Eventually a pair of men wearing medical scrubs enter the arena with a stretcher and move him onto it, giving you the satisfaction of knowing he'll probably be okay. You'll have to check up on him later though.

For now, however, you need to deal with Sotaro. As a staff member approaches you and asks you to get out of the ring, you push him away and give him a firm, "No." He seems surprised, but not nearly as surprised as when you step towards the Champ's throne and give him a death glare. "Get out here, Sotaro. I'm not letting you hurt any more innocent people."

He just cackles in response and stands up, walking toward you with a confident grin. "Waaah, 'innocent people,' 'nobody had to get hurt,' 'I'm a good person.'" He steps into the ring and folds his arms, not showing the slightest hint of fear or hesitation. "I've heard it all before, and it always comes from losers who never grew up and learned that they live in the real world. Since you apparently haven't grown up either, I'm going to be nice and give you a warning."
>>
"I've been asked not to outright kill the guy I'm fighting in any of my matches. This isn't an official match though, this is just a fight that someone picked with me, so I can't get in trouble. That means I'm not going to be holding anything back. So trust me, you won't be walking away when you lose. I can promise you that. Still want to throw down, or are you gonna play it smart and pussy out?"

>Of course you do! Fuck this guy, you're taking him down!
>Maybe not. You're not entirely sure if you'll win this fight and it sounds like losing really would mean the end.
>Just deck him right now. Nothing wrong with dirty tactics used against a scumbag like this.

Staring him down, you don't waste any time. As expected, he doesn't react in the slightest as you manifest your stand, using the ability you stole from 「Whispered Words」 to hide it. As such, he's not prepared for the punch as 「The Man」 slams his fist into the bastard's face, sending him reeling back.

https://youtu.be/GsGA5I4q9N0

To your surprise though, he doesn't fall back. Instead, Sotaro grins and begins pushing against your stand's fist, standing back up after having been pushed back. So, of course, you slam another punch into his face. This one doesn't seem to move him at all. You can tell already that your usual tactics definitely aren't going to work on this guy.

In fact, your distance from him is the only advantage your stand seems to have given you right now, as it gives you just enough time to get yourself out of the way of the kick he throws in your direction. You immediately make your way as far from him as you can manage after the first kick, realizing that you probably couldn't take more than a few kicks like that one. Letting him get direct hits on you is a bad plan.

To your surprise, he doesn't rush toward you though. Instead, he shouts at the top of his lungs, screaming out what sounds like a battle cry. That's when he raises a fist up and begins tugging on the strings on one of his gloves. As he tightens it, he shouts out, "BOMBS!" As the second glove is tightened, part of the crowd yells with him, "OVER!!" When he then slams his fists together, making a sound like a small explosion, nearly everyone around screams together, "BAGHDAD!!!"

His stand manifests as a pair of golden knuckles, glowing with a bright energy. Scratch what you thought earlier, letting him hit you is the worst plan. To be fair though, none of your ideas right now seem ideal. Everything has a good chance of failure. You still have to choose one though...

>Keep attacking. Even if he's strong enough to pretend they don't hurt, they have to be damaging him. You're sure of it.
>Attack his legs! If he can't move he can't hit you, and if he can't hit you he can't fight.
>Try to steal his stand. You don't know how hard it'll be, considering it manifests as such a small object, but you think you can manage it.

You may not be an expert fighter, but you're smart enough to see an obvious opening when it shows up. As Sotaro roars and begins charging toward you, his back side is completely open. You're not sure if it's a mistake or him just hoping you'll be frozen in fear, but either way you know he's fucked up.

Unlike before, where he could prepare himself for a hit from your stand, he's too busy moving to guard anything but his torso and head. So instead of letting him reach you, you spin your stand around him and smash its fist into his shin as it lifts up for another step, making a horrible crunching noise. As strong as the dude is, even he can't take a hit like this and keep moving, which causes him to go tumbling several feet to your left.

Naturally, you make sure to use the time while he's down to get as far from him as possible again, but he's getting back up already. He's still not up yet though, so you've got advantage in this fight right now. You just need to use it well...

>Charge him! If stands are weaker the further they are from the user, then dealing damage is just a matter of getting up close!
>Get some meaty hits on him while he's getting up. Just keep harassing him to try and burn him out with chip damage.

You're going to win this! You know you can. Your invisible stand charges toward Sotaro with intent to steal his left knuckle. As he grasps on, you're sure that this fight is over. This advantage is all you need to beat the champion of this scummy arena. Your ability is stronger than his, he didn't have any chance of winning from the moment the fight started.

Your arrogance is unfortunately blinding. You were so sure of yourself despite not truly knowing the limitations of your own stand's ability, and it's come back to bite you. As your stand reaches out to grab Sotaro's stand, you fail to notice his form shifting, growing more opaque. As you activate your ability to steal stands, the ability that was keeping 「The Man」 invisible dissipates, and Sotaro turns his head to look at it.

You only barely notice in time to move your stand out of the way, but you just aren't quick enough. Even though he only gets a glancing blow on your stand's arm, you scream in pain and stumble backward as you feel bones shattering. You stumble back against the edge of the ring and look at your right forearm, realizing immediately that it's going to be useless for the rest of this fight.

When you look back up, having instinctively drawn your stand back toward yourself, you see Sotaro grinning. He shouts at you arrogantly, "I knew you were an esper! I fucking knew it! Hell yeah! This makes things so much simpler!" You're not sure why he looks like he thinks he's won, but you're hoping it's just because he got a hit on you. You're still on mostly even ground, this is a neutral game right now. It's not like you're about to make the first move here, even if he is beckoning you like an idiot and yelling "Bring it on!!!"

You realize a moment later that your legs are already moving. You're sprinting toward him at top speed! You have no idea why you started running, but you need to come up with a plan quickly!

>Try to stop yourself! Turn away and avoid him, whatever you have to do!
>Use your stand as a decoy! Make it look like you're going for the face with 「The Man」 and dropkick him!
>Let him try to punch you and steal his stand while he swings! The punch will probably still hurt, but not as much as it would with the stand!

Your body is moving toward Sotaro at top speed, but your mind simply can't catch up. You come up with your plan far too late, and by the time you've started to prepare for it, you know already that it's not likely to work. You can't stop now though, so you go through with it. While 「The Man」 comes in from overhead, trying to distract him and force him to block from above, you tighten up your legs and kick off the ground, putting all of your weight and your momentum into one big kick!

Your stand is swiftly knocked away by a brutal backhand to its already broken arm, and Sotaro has no trouble stepping out of the way of your kick, leaving you flying through the open air toward absolutely nothing. Your kick doesn't get a chance to follow through, however, as you feel the sensation of a fist with the strength of a semi truck slamming into your stomach. You immediately black out.

When your eyes open again, you find yourself on the ground, the concrete beneath you shattered. Every single part of you hurts more than it's ever hurt before. The fact that you're even conscious is astounding to you. You're absolutely certain that you can't get up. However...

One hand presses down against the cracked stone beneath you, lifting your left side up. Your legs begin to push against the floor as well. Your head tilts up as you lift yourself off the ground, looking up at a gloating Sotaro. The asshole isn't even paying attention to you, more interested in showing off to the crowd. You have no idea how it's even possible, but you push yourself to your feet despite feeling your guts churning and your splintered bones tearing you up.

Stat Revealed: Tenacity - B+

Sotaro hasn't noticed you're up yet. The crowd has gone silent, and he looks at them in confusion, asking, "What, have you all gotten bored of cheering for the champ? Come on now!"

This is your last chance. You won't get another opportunity like this.

You know very well how this fight should've ended. Sotaro is the superior fighter. Sotaro has a more deadly stand. Sotaro is fighting in his own arena. Sotaro is battling in front of his own cheering fans. Frankly though, you don't care. It doesn't matter to you that he has so many advantages. It doesn't matter to you that any sane person would be running away right now. It doesn't matter that he's made clear his willingness to kill you. A guy like Ouji Sotaro doesn't deserve to win.

Standing on your feet, your body bloody and bruised, you manifest your stand. Your voice comes out calm and controlled, but each word is dripping with a malice you didn't realize you were capable of. "Turn around, bastard. I'm not done with you."

Stat Increased: Tenacity - B+ > A

Sotaro seems initially shocked as he spins around to face you, but he is still an expert fighter. Which is precisely why you know how he's going to attack. Just as you predicted, a left hook coming from Sotaro's dominant hand comes flying toward you. In one swift movement, 「The Man Who Sold the World」 tears the knuckleduster from his hand, robbing him of half his stand's abilities.

You still have a professional fighter's fist coming toward your face, but you were well aware that was going to happen. Just before you're hit by the punch, your left hand comes up to meet his fist, holding a piece of the broken concrete you grabbed as you stood up. The crowd watches as Sotaro cries out in pain, unable to control his hand as it slams full speed into a solid rock, making a violent crunching noise as you hear at least a dozen bones breaking.

You don't give him the time he needs to recover and figure out what you just did to him. Looking into his stunned face, you activate his stand's ability, a pair of glowing, golden knuckles appearing on your left hand. With a roar, you slam it as hard as you can into his chest, sending him skidding backwards. He collapses back against the edge of the ring, coughing up blood. He seems barely conscious, only just managing to look back up at you in awe at what just happened.

You know, our stand is kind of bullshit.

We need to figure out what our stand rush shout is.

As they should be

In the first thread you guys voted to not say anything when you do a stand rush, but sure, I'll put it up to a vote again.

Respond to this post at some point with a vote for:
>No stand rush shout.
>A shout by Tomoya.
>A shout by 「The Man」.

If you do vote for a shout, make sure to specify what sound it should be (oraora/mudamuda/atatatata/etc.)

>>A shout by 「The Man」.
Can we go for the good ol fashioned Mudamudamuda?
I want to spook the fuck out of Jotaro.

That's right, I forgot we voted to be silent. Given our NEET origins, I'd say that still works.
>No stand rush shout

You walk slowly toward Sotaro while the crowd watches on on silence. Just moments earlier they had been cheering for the champion, and now he's on his ass after a single hit. Fumbling to try and push himself to his feet, he stutters out, "Y-you-- what did-- what did you d-do to me? Why can't I f-feel my hand? Why is part of my ESP not working? Wh-what the hell kind of esper are you?"

You don't bother to answer his questions. His arm weakly comes up to block, but for some reason you can tell it's a futile effort. Before, your stand could barely deal any visible damage to him with its punches. Now his arm crumples under the force of a single blow from 「The Man」. Your stand punches him in the ribs next. Then in the chin. Again and again, you start punching him with a force you didn't know your stand had.

New Part Stolen: 「B.O.B.」, Left Fist

Stand Stats Updated
Power: C -> B
Speed: D -> C

Stand Ability Unlocked: The Man With A Golden Fist - This ability allows 「The Man」 to transform his left hand into a set of gold knuckledusters equippable by Tomoya. Impacting an object with these knuckles imparts a force comparable to that of a high speed car crash.

「The Man」 begins pushing Sotaro up into the air as he pummels him, leaving marks all over his body with each blow you throw at him. A part of you feels an urge to shout as your stand rushes him, but you choose instead to fold your arms and spin around, facing away from the sight as your stand finishes Sotaro off. When you hear his body thump loudly against the concrete outside of the ring, you know it's over.

Then, to your surprise, the crowd cheers excitedly for you, shouting, "Petri! Petri! Petri!" You cluck your tongue in disapproval, but you really don't see any reason to pay the audience any mind right now. You need to make a decision right now anyways.

Climbing out of the ring, you look down at your fallen foe's body. He's beaten down hard, but he's still alive. And that specifically is the issue here. He's going to wake up eventually, but you don't exactly want someone as dangerous as him out on the streets.

>There's nothing you can do about it. Just walk away and hope he's less of an asshole when he wakes up.
>You don't like it, but you only have one safe option. Killing him right here and now.
>What's important is keeping him from using his stand. You've taken his left fist from him, but as far as you're aware you don't have any method of doing the same to his right. So you'll just have to cut his right hand off completely.

Hope you're left handed, asshole.

The Passione way.

You realize what you have to do. This guy isn't just a threat, he's a menace. And something tells you that going to the police isn't the best idea. Even if you weren't a member of a criminal gang here on business, you could easily get arrested and thrown in the slammer for participating in this mess, and from what you've heard about the Japanese legal system a guilty verdict would be hard to avoid in court.

No, there's only one way of dealing with this. As your stand quietly takes a large knife another competitor had clumsily taped to the back of his leg, likely planning on using it in his upcoming fight, you approach Sotaro and crouch down. This is it. The crowd around you goes silent as you lower the knife to his throat and...

Insufficient Stats: Composure - D

You freeze in place. All these people watching... his silent, helpless form... the glint of the knife as it touches his skin... it's all just too much. You can't do it. You know you're meant to be a member of Passione, a soldier belonging to a criminal syndicate... but you just can't manage to push the knife any deeper. You're not some kid who grew up on the street and got adopted by a gang, you're a NEET who's never even been in a real fight. You're just not capable of cold-blooded murder.

Gritting your teeth and looking away from him, you swallow nervously and have your stand do the next best thing. A part of you despises the fact that you can't even look, but you do manage to bite the bullet. 「The Man」 sinks the knife down into his arm with enough force to cut clean through in a single slice. When you look back at the wound you just made, seeing his hand fallen limp on the ground, blood leaking from his arm onto the cold concrete, you nearly throw up. However, you somehow manage to keep it together. Once your stomach stops feeling like it's doing backflips, it just feels... empty. Almost like you lost something inside of you that you didn't even realize was there.

Stat Increased: Composure - D > C

You've done what you had to though. With one hand missing and the other useless, he can't use his stand anymore. That's what's important. Besides, you have more pressing issues to deal with. As you stand up and step away from the body, a man with latex gloves and a first-aid kit standing near where Sotaro was sitting rushes over and starts to treat the fresh wound.

Now you've got to attend to the matters at hand. What are you going do to about the old man who brought you here? What are you going to do about this fighting ring in general? What are you going to do in the criminal underworld if you can't even end a single life? What a mess you've walked into...

END OF THREAD #3
>>
Next thread will begin on Tuesday barring any extenuating circumstances. As before, if you have any questions about the quest, elements you'd like me to change, or stupid shit to say, now would be the time to post it.

Also, apologies for the long wait for this post. I was intending on finishing this thread up sooner, but it was stuck on a split vote between killing and not killing, and I didn't want to have your first kill come down to the flip of a coin. I only ended up posting when I did because I realized that it's not really in character for Tomoya to be capable of murder, considering his background. Feel free to accuse me of railroading.
