You wake up in the morning and you step outside of the room. As you take a real deep breath and no you won't scream the top of your lungs but smell the robot already cooking a big batch for you, Hifumi and the sisters because today is a busy day. A hot coffee and a newspaper later which headlines says.

>Arson culprit found. Lady compensated from burned half warehouse property.

All is well ends well you think. After dressing up for occasion you go to the school for the upcoming PTA meeting for the upcoming school festival. Several parents are here with their daughters are walking to the school and you go straight to the faculty room where various teachers are greeting you. Then the bell rings signify for the first period where the homeroom teachers is delivering their own agendas to the parents. Meawhile you yourself, head to the auxilliary room.

.........................

Opening the door, you see some various substitute teachers who are advisors to various clubs. In a little of 3 weeks here and scanning everyone at your first week from all the staff, some noteworthy people are.....

>The mechanical club adviser who is a Mexican? Brown Latina, is speaking spanish to the foreign language teacher
>The board game advisor playing chess with the head librarian
>P.E. teacher stretching and having light excercise. Must be the nerves
or
>Be on your lonesome and wait for the meeting to start.

Might as well give our English a dust off as from Otto's name I assumed he's not originally from Japan.

Also what did we spend the 4 units of cash we had at the bank on? Petty expenses?

Good to see you back QM and hope you are recovering well. Also, that OP pick had me laughing. Just the tone to the choices.

Sorry i must have pasted an outdated one.

No problem

Although Otto might know Spanish. Not just from intelligence bu also I forgot the Germans who moved to Mexico and the American Southwest in the mid to late 1800's during all the silver strikes. Maybe mining runs in our blood.

I just assumed American military brat from his dad's background.

You approach the two spanish speaking girls and both of them noticed you coming closer.

"Hello, My name is Quentin. Nice to meet you both. I handle robotics class."

"Oh! So you are the professor they talk about. My name is Sonya. My girls are kinda new in mechanical job bless them but I hope you aren't hard at them. Luisa is beating herself back at the garage for not solving the most simplest task that she could ever think of."

"It's alright. We overcomplicate things that we can forget the solution can be found in the most simplest of things."

"Well said Professor Quentin. Name is Tina by the way." Said the language teacher.

"Still were here to sell the parents to support our own clubs for the upcoming fair. To be honest, I don't have any idea what to say. Even my girls are having a hard time thinking about something that is not maid cafe or a restaurant stall." Sonya mutters.

"Well, I believe you can think something that will apply knowledge to your students pertaining to your clubs."

Both of them look at each other and then at you. And then their eyes glint.

"OF COURSE!" Both of them shout startling the people around you.

"I can offer free check-up on their vehicles and offer free light repairs for my students too."

"We can have basic language tutorials and writing lessons for any language depending which one they would choose!"

Then both girls both grab your hands and shake vigorously.

"THANKS FOR COMING TO OUR AID!!"

Although others may view this comical sight, there was a cough behind your back. A familiar one at that.

"Ara~ Quentin, flirting with other girls?" Rina heels clacked at the floor walking ever slowly. The two girls immediately backed off seemingly cowed in fear.

>Don't scare them Rina. I'm just offering them suggestions.
>Calm the girls down. They didn't do anything wrong

>Hug her and give her a kiss on the cheek.
>I have a booth idea of my own. When is Rika free?
>Hey Rina, I want to see you for a moment in private. It's about two of my students. (ask about Hifumi and Caroline's homeroom meetings and if we could stand in if a parent isn't present.)
>>
>>3601479
"Don't scare them, I'm just offering them suggestions. So when s Rika free?"

"I think this is the only time I ever see her busy. When she puts something in her mind, she will work to the bone until she is bored. Hey! That was a sick rhyme." She lightly punches you on your shoulder while she fist pumps from her lyrical miracle she made. You just laugh with her while rubbing the spot she punched.

"Anyway, Can I see you for a moment in private?"

"Oh? Feeling frisky aren't we?"

"NO NOT LIKE THAT! It's Hifumi and Caroline. Both of them don't have parents to...."

"Hifumi parents are here. Caroline? Yeah I understand."

"Wh...where?"

"I dunno, maybe they're at Hifumi right now?"

"Thanks Rika, I'll meet Hifumi parents right now."

"Alright, come back quick alright?"

You excuse yourself out of the room and into where Hifumi will be. The hallway is devoid with people except where the murmurs of various homeroom teachers inside and some excited chatters from parents and children. Searching building by building you ended up in your clubroom where the only thing you didn't search. You hear a distinct voices on your room.

"So you take advance engineering?"

"Y-yes father."

"Good, I thought you rot yourself away on that wretched hole you have in your home. I should have personally called the housekeeping and rip all those distractions in your room. It's filthy by the way. I didn't raise you up to become a dirty woman. Don't tell me your friends saw your room."

"N-no one has entered my room."

"And what is this?"

"Ah....M-my throphy."

"Of what?"

"............"

"Base on what I saw, it's just a random junk of what? kiddy cars that 6 years old likes to play? What is this room anyway? You look like some kind of a greasemonkey than an engineer."

".........."

"I guess, everyone starts at the bottom. So what kind of advance lessons did you learn."

There was silence. Then another familiar voice is heard again.

"Good Morning! Ai-chan is here to stay!"

Another silence. Then Hifumi asked.

"H-how was it?"

"-te"

"What? Eh?"

"Wow this is cute! How did you make this Hifumi? Can I have one too? Oh! You need to make this for your brothers and sisters too! They would be delighted. Oh my daughter I'm so proud of you!!

>"I'm glad to see there's something in the world you approve of Mr. Tokisawa, besides money, at least when it comes to your daughter's sake. As far as the trophy, goes it was a robotic battle completion using RC cars as the base for the robots. Your daughter defeated 19 other girls to earn it. Honestly, she didn't need the crutch of an existing car to build off of but I needed to make it somewhat fair for the other girls. You would know all about that *raising* such an exceptional girl."

>"OH, what am I doing, I forgot to introduce myself, *greasemonkey*--Professor Otto Quinton, robotics teacher. I honestly didn't expect my star pupil's family to show. You know awfully busy it is here at the bottom. I didn't think you would have time to concern yourself with such petty matters like your daughter's success."

>"Speaking of success, do you like classical music, Mr. Tokisawa. An old classmate of mine is quite accomplished pianist and harpsichordist. Her teacher pushed her *very* hard and all that hard work payed off. I once went to one of her performances of the Goldberg Variations. Very technically accurate stuff, true to what we could surmise Bach's intent. She wasn't at all Glenn Gould-ing it up. In fact if you payed enough attention, once she passed the Aria right into the first variation you almost see her hands hitch and lock up just where her old teacher would start beating her for her childhood mistakes. She's gotten better at hiding it. I could get us tickets for her next performance. I'm afraid don't be dead set on hearing the variations. She hates to play them; really, she hates to play much of anything these days, but that's all shes good at. You know a jobs a job. Also, the wait will be pretty long. They still haven't let her out of the hospital yet. You know artists, moody sorts, she tried to hang herself on her last European tour. It would be worth the wait though."

>"I'm sorry. Listen to me rambling--I was just looking for your daughter to ask if she would like to assist in my class meeting's demonstration and if she packed lunch. I *expect* you will attend. I insist. Anyway, I've got to run. I'm almost late for a meeting.

>Ruffle Hifumi's hair.

>"While I'm still here a piece of free advice for you, Mr. Tokisawa. Looks are often deceiving and lead to foolish mistakes through underestimation. The last man who underestimated me lost a VERY expensive bet and payed dearly...your daughter could explain. AH rambling again, gotta' run. It's a pleasure to finally meet you "

** for words with added emphasis. Sorry this took so long. I fell asleep. and it took a bit to try to come up with the equivalent of a Lecter speech. The pianist story is an embellished version of a person I know with a much more drastic outcome.

>Meet Hifumi's Parents
"Hifumi's the top of our class, actually, won the RC Challenge Cup. The whole class made their own cars, I figured it'd be fun for the girls and teach them how systems work. Taking one step at a time to get to a desired end. Should be something they can apply to the rest of school and life in general you know?"

I want to change up the last paragraph as I made it sound too much like it's just Otto threatening Tokisawa where I really meant it to also be about underestimating Hifumi. One day she could snap like Otto and the results would be tragic but predictable.

>"While I'm still here a piece of free advice for you, Mr. Tokisawa. Don't underestimate your daughter. Looks are often deceiving and lead to arrogant men making fools of themselves. You quietly open the door and slip in. Hifumi noticed you and you nod at her.

"A-alright, after I got the necessary materials."

"Alright, I know this may take a while but go home every now and then, you siblings miss you....alright?"

Both of them hug each other. You just lean on the corner of the door and smile. Then Hifumi breaks the silence by calling you out.

"P-professor! Hi....."

Hifumi's father turns around and see that he is a head shorter than you, you walk to them and meet them.

"Hello Mr. Tokisawa."

"Ah, hello Professor, thank you for taking care of my daughter."

"Hifumi.....leave us be. Go find your mother in your homeroom."

Hifumi nods meekly and watches both of you stare. If electricity can spew out, it would be now. The moment the door close and footsteps of Hifumi are distant, he starts.

"I don't appreciate you eavesdropping our conversation Professor, aren't you a professional?"

"Yet you are crushing your daughter self esteem, I had a hard time building her confidence to make great things Mr. Tokisawa. Oh, what am I doing, I forgot to introduce myself, *greasemonkey*--Professor Otto Quinton, robotics teacher. I honestly didn't expect my star pupil's family to show. You know awfully busy it is here at the bottom. I didn't think you would have time to concern yourself with such petty matters like your daughter's success."

"Your concern is not your business Mr. Quentin. I want my daughter to excel. Although I have doubts when she entered this additional studies, yet I can't help to see that his professor is a bad mouthed nosy individual himself."

"How about a little story Mr. Tokisawa. You see, I have an old classmate of mine is quite accomplished pianist and harpsichordist. Her teacher pushed her *very* hard and all that hard work payed off. I once went to one of her performances of the Goldberg Variations. Very technically accurate stuff, true to what we could surmise Bach's intent. She wasn't at all Glenn Gould-ing it up. They still haven't let her out of the hospital yet. You know artists, moody sorts, she tried to hang herself on her last European tour. It would be worth the wait though. What I am meaning to say is, she is numerously trying to do with you pressure and your beration. A piece of free advice for you, Mr. Tokisawa. Don't underestimate your daughter. Looks are often deceiving and lead to arrogant men making fools of themselves. The last man who underestimated me lost a VERY expensive bet and payed dearly...your daughter could explain. AH rambling again, gotta' run. It's a pleasure to finally meet you...Also, if your going to berate your daughter and insult others you should probably make sure those others aren't in earshot of you when you're doing it."

You walk outside of the room with a furious Mr. Tokisawa and go back to the room running. When you arrive, Rika is standing at the room arms crossed.

"Get in before I'm going to kidnap you and put you in my dungeon and have a gooooooooooooood time with each other."

"What?" panting very hard. You aren't meant for physical activity.

"JUST GO IN!" He kicks your butt and you opened the door good thing all of the teachers are standing behind the door shielding you tripping yourself. You stand up immediately and your name was called.

.........................

After introducing yourself, your class and some demonstration the parents who attended claps at you. You see Hifumi and Hifumi's mother at the corner of the room. All of the club teacher are now bowing and announce that there will be a student meeting on each club for their upcoming school festival. You decide to...

I edited this to fix the spelling mistakes and typos
>First, find Rika.
>"Can I ask for a favor. Can you meet Hifumi's mother over there with me? I would like to know what the wife is like but I've already had the displeasure of interacting with her husband. If the wife is anything like her husband you might have to stop yourself from burning her alive, but I'm holding out hope that Hifumi gets the rest of her demeanor from someone else."

>"Rika, the bastard never skips a beat to berate his daughter. It’s bad enough that it has completely shattered her self esteem. Worse yet, Hifumi mentioned he's beat her before and starved her bad enough to have to steal food. Also, who the hell walks into someone’s home or business, bad mouths them and their methods, and then has the nerve to complain when they get caught and called on it. What the fuck gives him that right. I need a third party to step in just in case that ogre comes back and I don't want him taking his frustration out on his daughter. Please, if you can keep her safe. I will be grateful. I'm sure that bastard is looking forward to spewing his vitriol at your sister, thinking he can get on over on me using my own fiancé as his weapon."

>”Sorry, I have my own bad experiences as baggage. I don’t like when people take their personal frustrations out on kids. Physically or Verbally.”

>Briefly meet Hifumi's mother.

>Then find Caroline and see if you can also meet Saki's father.

Just trying to prioritize/get stuff done. like all of the things I wanted to do are presented here as options.

>Ask Rika if she can explain to the club what they're supposed to do. If necessary explain it to her as fire, blades, ect. putting forces of destruction to creative purposes if necessary.

>cue pleasantries and try to gauge what kind of person she is
>Ditto for Hifumi's mother

This is something I thought of for Hifumi's mother. The apology is more out of concern for Hifumi's sake. (1/2)

>Hello, Mrs. Tokisawa. I am Professor Quentin, your daughter's robotics teacher, and this is Ms. Rika Takeba, the school's guidance councilor. It's a pleasure to meet the mother of my best student. Hifumi, I would like you to stay to hear all this. It is my pleasure to say Ma'am, regardless of whatever her grades are or her homeroom assessment reflects...and without hyperbole, your daughter is a genius. Her skill in electrical engineering is on par with a late junior or early senior year college student. She is well versed in many programming languages and she can apply her code in novel ways. This demonstrates that Hifumi has a deep and intuitive grasp of mathematics as well. She is capable of reverse engineering my designs along with iterative improvements on them. Honestly, she could teach the rest of my class right now. The mere presence of a girl of her intelligence has forced me to alter my classroom methods and I worry that her skills may already exceed what she could learn even in a school like this In life, she will succeed by her very nature *if* she is allowed.
>Which brings me to my concerns. I heard some worrying things from Hifumi about her upbringing, which trouble me on a deeply personal level. My suspicions were confirmed this morning. But first, I must apologize to your husband and your daughter for my conduct this morning. I crossed a line. I am sorry and wish you to relay that to your husband. However, I hope you can understand I found your husband’s actions deeply insulting and unsettling. There was no need for him to bad mouth my classroom, my methods, or to disrespect his daughter in that way, even in privacy. I cannot explain why he saw fit to do so in this school where any number of people besides me could have heard him. If he had concerns he should have brought them to me first. I still should have responded better. And to Hifumi, I'm deeply sorry if I allowed my pride and personal neurosis to ruin a touching moment for you. I hope you can forgive me.

>Ma'am you see I too, like you and your husband want to see your daughter excel in life and the wellbeing of my students is very much my concern as a teacher. Personal success, self-reliance, and thrift are all valuable lessons for any teen, but you and your husband’s methods are misguided and far too excessive. I am something of a kindred spirit to your daughter. I too am a genius and I bear many of the same gifts and interests as your daughter. I also suffered similar “lessons” to yours at the hands my father, teachers and peers. I can safely say they had the opposite effect of your intentions and they made me a worse person than I could have been. It’s hard to make a person live up to their full potential if they feel they are unworthy of success. I fear your daughter came to this conclusion from her treatment.
>I’m working very hard to change things but I can only do so much without your support. The negative reinforcement has to stop. However, I have good reason to believe things are going in that direction. There is much more I would like to discuss but this situation is delicate. These things might be better presented in a private venue. Needless to say, just like you I care very much for Hifumi. I want you to know I am willing to spare any expense, be it time, effort, or money, for your daughter’s success. I think it would also be prudent to set up a parent-staff meeting with Hifumi present were we start to seriously weigh the options for your daughter’s future. She has so many doors open to her, but a genius like your daughter my need a specialized program to truly flourish. I look forward to working with you in the future and here is my number. I’m sure your husband wants that apology personally. I have another student I must attend to today. I need to get going.

Just in case you see this should I archive this thread? There’s only a couple of updates in the thread. I don’t know what sup/tg/‘s stance is on this sort of thing, but I don’t want anything getting lost if you do pick the story back up.
