Last thread we defeated the mighty Theocracy of Belinlos but lacked the strength to completely wipe them out. They also had the last laugh poisoning all the land we gained with foul magics. However the advanced armor and weapons seized from the battle have inspired a whole new generation of smiths and mages!

Last thread F has been chosen and we shall pick up right there! Due to the current state of the civs prosperity you can pick two!

The first great advancement made has been the invention of sewers by a knowledgeable priest from Ruby Island. By having the waste flow under the streets and be deposited away from the populace has reduced the amount of sicknesses that plague a city with public and private toilets becoming a common site in the common throughout the Empire with Shem investing a good part of the royal treasury into making them.

The second invention comes directly from the Royal family with the Emperor bringing forth a series of four weights made of the green metal made by Galoris. He says they shall be known as pounds with the weights going 1, 10, 100 and 1000 with copies being made of steel for the many merchants of the Empire increasing the accuracy of trade and the measuring of goods.

In other news the Eagles, Free Clans and Moon Cultists have all joined forces to purge the Beastmen from their continent.

Galoris be blessed for the Empire is rich in all things! On the island of Gotti among the dark boar filled forests in the domain of Maelstrom a large deposit of Tavernite has been discovered! There has also been an attempt of the life of the Seastorm Patriarch, this has caused an uproar among the nobles who blame the greedy merchant class who are clamouring for free reign on Dragon’s Graveyard.

An exhausted Shem has returned from his near exile to the Black Tower and has stated that it is completed. He will be leaving to the pygmy islands to help deal with the problems there setting up his son Alexos as the ruler with his brother Esau Shinebringer as his advisor.

Bloodmetal grenade would cause a fragmentation effect, presumably causing a lot of piercing damage.
>>
File: grenade1.jpg (62 KB, 883x619)

62 KB JPG
The first new advancement is in medicine and comes directly from divine prophecy itself! For one night the lights of Galoris shine up with a simple message “Wash your hands before eating or practicing medicine”. With this direction command everyone starts washing their hands all the time! And within a year less people are getting sick, less people are getting infections during surgery and fewer women are dying in childbirth! Some doctors are even taking it so far as to wash all their instruments and bandages thoroughly before using them!

The second is the invention of the grenade, a portable way to use dragonfire! By placing dragonfire within a clay orb that can be thrown a single infantryman can ignite a whole area even if they are a tad fragile. The Alchemists of the Jaguar Enclave have also brought out a new interesting convention they dragonheart which is created by adding more sulfur and a strange substance called niter to Dragonfire for a more explosive effect! With this you can create grenades of metal that explode throwing fragments of metal into your foes!
>>
>>3581159
With this they also bring out their newest invention, a long iron tube which uses dragonheart to fire forth massive iron balls! It’s not very accurate and it can’t shoot very far but damn if it doesn’t look cool!

fter the sacrifice the lights of Galoris shine for several weeks with the priests scribing non-stop as to their meanings. They eventually announce to the people that Galoris has offered guidance as to the nature of the magic and the recently discovered soul bonding. Apparently with a complex weave of base mana a mage can borrow the attributes of one they have soul bonded with adding it to their own. Such as drawing upon a man’s strength, vitality, eyesight or dexterity. This does however drain the attribute from the one who is soul bonded becomes greatly reduced or crippled in that attribute till the bond is broken.

She also unveils the art of lightning magic, a style of magic she claims to be her own creation. By channeling life magic directly through the soul and expelling directly as pure energy to strike at one’s opponents. She warns that it is a dangerous spell and even the slightest slip in concentration can spell the mages death.

In the final bit of news it has been reported that the Beastmen are once again gathering at the Profane Fortress.

Double the size of our island legions from 1,000 to 2,000 and expand the size of our continental legions to 10,000

Our pop can currently sustain a standing army of 143,050

this expansion would raise us to 32,000 in Island legions and 20,000 in Continental Legions

This would still leave 91,050 men for the navy, more than enough.
On the topic of the navy:
-Expand it by another 20 Quadriremes
-Increase the number of Marines to 2,000

The ranks of your legions swell with fresh faced young men ready to fight for Goddess and Empire! In total you can now call upon 52,000 well trained and well equipped men to fight any who would challenge your dominance! The number of ships in your fleet is also expanded with the dedicated marine force being expand upon too.

Near the end of the year a single black sailed ship approaches your harbour. The navy is quick to intercept but seems no ill intention so they escort it into the harbour. Disembarking from this ship is none other then one of Agaron’s generals, Sir Arytom Thule. He is quickly escorted to the rule court from which he speaks to all attending.

“My name is Sir Arytom Thule, retainer of his Imperial Majesty Prince Agaron Worldbreaker. I have come to request the help of the noble Wine-Dark Empire in fighting the Cuāuhtli Princedom, the Free Clans and the Serene Republic of the Moon Lord who currently are attempting to destroy us. I know this may seem strange to you but they are a mutual foe for both of us. I offer my services to answer any questions you may have about the war or any curiosity about my and my companions existence.”

We were sent here a long time ago by Hrothlogar the Horned King to seize control of the Wellsprings and bring him the corpse of Sunblighter. Sir Arytom Thule gives you a deep bow, “I look forward to fighting by your side, your people are true heirs to the Erulian spirit.” With that he departs back on his silent black ship to the far West. The Overlord Leon Thleech protests and goes to use his veto powers but is instead dismissed by Esau who then proclaims himself Overlord. This is seen as a rather tyrannical move by most making some really wish Shem wasn’t off in the pygmy islands.

Esau addresses the people of Loslina on the grounds of the palace as he did previously regarding the Eagles.

"As soon as this war is finished, I will hand off the title of Overlord to someone else, if I find them worthy. While the beastmen pose a threat, we have defeated them time and time again. Yet, I have seen the lands of the Moon Lord, and I know the threat they pose. So has the Headmaster of the Academy, and several others. This is not about my feelings about the Eagles, or a wish for power. Alexos is the heir, Shem my Emperor. I have many titles, much money, and fame. I have no need for more. My family came from shepherds, after all. This is not about ambition. This is about allowing the empire to prosper in the future when you, or even I, am not around. In order to do that, a balance needs to be struck, and to do that, we must weaken the stronger of the two forces to keep them fighting amongst themselves, and far from our doors."

After the sacrifices the Priest scribe for days on end to collect all the teachings of Galoris as the lights shine non-stop for nearly a month. She speaks mainly of the Eldritch Realm which exists beyond creation. In this realms exists cruel things that existed before creation and after the death of all things. They are extremely jealous creatures that lust for the power that true gods possesses though some have more esoteric goals that do not line up with logical thinking. The veil to this realm runs thinnest on the night of the full Moon due to the flow of the tides of immaterium that divide the worlds, why they flow this way to known to no being within creation. In the time of Chernoboros he defended against any such incursions however with him gone it is now the duty of our Goddess and her followers to make sure such creatures do not gain a large foothold on this world. The full moon festival of which your people have long celebrated is an effort to strengthen the veil by your goddess but many in this world work against her efforts.

Declare war on the moon cultists
Dedicate our entire navy, 16 legions, marines, Bal, Storm Reaver, and champions

The plan would be to go forth and strike them whilst they are preoccupied with the beastman war. The goal will be to kill the ascendant lord

It's been a long thirty years and life has changed a lot for Argos much gained and much lost, but he is rising none the less. He has been working upon expanding his network of eyes and ears, men and women to pull strings and work for him be they traders, craftsman or simply men looking for work. All things start with the men on the bottom and a pyramid requires a strong foundation. Give men whom need it work, those whom need money loans, people whom ask for protection a friend, do favours in return for others. As for those whom already fill this role? Well its a dangerous world out there and accidents happen~ You can't have a an operation like this without a strong base, those in his graces will work together and offer one another cheaper rates to encourage in trading and continue to bring in wealth for all. Those whom do not wish to be in may resist for a time but when they find themselves overwhelmed in the market they will be given a chance.

As the wealth and income grows it is to be reinvested into operations and increasing the amount of eyes and ears around and our network shall flow and grow as the trades of the port do. We will know who unloads what were, how much makes it and who bought it. Charity and coin start these things but it is fear and respect that hold them together. Those whom slight us will be removed, those whom speak against silenced by whatever means, preferably legal for there are few higher strings than court.

Now what to do with all this acquired wealth and contacts? Well that's simple the acquisition of an Islet to act as a base of operations near the Ruby Isle and a place where Argos will gather those like him...those cursed or blessed to live a long life fighting the demons within themselves seeking to twist them, here those whom become Attuned will find comradely and enjoy their years with those whom will not fade in what seems like a week. The contacts and information gathered letting them know where others like themselves might be found or to help them acquire more exotic goods...when you live a long time sometimes you need something more.

[and should the Oathkeepers come knocking, well everyone will know it is better to die here than something far worse after all we all know now what waits beyond the veil and death is a better option than been taken, if someone finds out simple we cut them in then hold that over them, they refuse? Well who knows, we shall be the many~]

You meet with the enemy fleet off the coast of Last Light after they have just finished thrashing a small beastman fleet. The Eagle Armada is truly fearsome with an estimated 150 ships equal or large to your own. You can hear the odd wailing sound of bone flutes with the waters below their fleet writhing with Krakens. Mounted upon many of the ships are massive ballistas topped with barbed Toarite heads to kill dragons.

WARNING: This foe has an anti-dragon specialty, on a failure a dragon is wounded and on a crit failure a dragon is wounded/maimed.

The holy creatures of Galoris are much stronger then those of these blighted seas swarming and tearing apart the Krakens! Bal feasts greedily on their tumorous flesh as the Sea-Reaver blasts them into chunks. However just we it looks like the undersea battle has been decided in your favor does a huge torrent of water erupt from the ocean between your two fleets. Bal has been engaged by some huge bio-titan of the Eagles! That thing must be at least Knight Class!

His forefathers were in the backgrond, aiding in the Lightwatchers magical technology breakthroughs and discoveries. Vidella sends out magnificent swathes of flame across the battlefield while Moonblighter enjoys getting blood on his claws. "I will bring you any that survive."

After a nail biting five hours the gates of the harbour are opened allowing you in. When inside it is a sight of carnage with dead men, burning ships and prisoners displayed all around. Most of Balat's mens are half-breeds of some sort with near two hundred fire attuned being gathered in the area. As you travel around north through the mist choked waters of the Starless Sea reports have come from ships all across the fleet of a horrible affliction bearing down on almost a quarter of your men. Some sort of parasite known to the locals as Eyeblight has infected your ships with it's eggs which drift on the winds into mens eyes. They take about a month to mature before ripping their way out of their hosts eyes slowly reducing the hosts eyesight along the way. Apparently the Eagles now a cure for it but none of the slaves you have taken or the Jaguars men know it.

What will you do, you are about half way to your goal?

Only by the grace of the Stormseer's warning do you prepare for the massive storm that hits your fleet. The storm rages for days and men even report a massive figure walking within eye of it. A good third of your fleet is blown to places only the Goddess knows and your main force is blown horribly off course with it taking an extra three weeks to return to Lostlight in which time the Eyeblight ran it's course leaving thousands of men blind.

What will you do now?

You sail around south without too many problems beyond the occasional eagle or beetle scouting ship. At times you come under slight bombardment from coastal encampments but they are easy enough to avoid. Even once you come into the waters of the Moonlord himself little happens. The waters seem devoid of merchants and fishermen, you did take you time getting here and the Spirits of Champions slain were sure to talk. Your current situation leads to you be anchored outside the city of Colaxlt, the capital of the Serene Republic of the Moon Lord staring at the high walls and fortified port.

What will you do next? It is two weeks till the full moon.
>>

Scout out the area using wind mages; can they see anything inside the city?
>>

The city is being reinforced and fortified as we speak, barricades are made at almost every major intersection with many strange monsters roaming the streets. Two warrior class titan creatures guard the main palace.
>>
>>3595251
Scout and raid the surroundings, then we begin a siege. We will crush their walls.
>>
>>3595269
We have no time for subtleties. We move as quickly as possible, using the dragons and our artillery to harass the area in front of the gates, before utilizing siege weaponry and the dragons again to open a way into the city. The dragons will take point if we come into contact with the titans, similar for the champions with other champions. Men will be ordered to loot what they can in terms of weaponry and armor as the battle goes on; in a city like this, no doubt there will be many boons.

As your artillery begins to open fire six massive flowers quickly bloom in the middle of power spreading out a massive protection spell that engulfs the sky above. This protection spell stops all projectiles, magic and even the mighty dragons from piercing into the city! The walls seem to be strong and you will likely have to force the gates if you wish to storm the city playing directly into their hands. What will you do?

B. Wait till the Walls crack

Keep up a minimum of artillery, conserving supplies while forcing them to use their mana. If we have any mana draining items on us, like the Yoresh’s stone, we can use that. Siege weapons we have brought with us as well as artillery should be deployed as wel.

A foul glowing mist pervades the air robbing men of their breathes while monsters of all sorts stalk within. As far as you can tell there are no soldiers or civilians within the outer parts of this city. The defenders must be at the central palace. The Overlord can order a withdrawal at any time.

As the Legions march towards the center of the city cracks begin to appear within their formations as men seem to simply disappear into the mists. Screams can be heard from all around alongside the sound of snapping bones and the wet tearing noise of flesh being consumed. The men are more then ready when the Overlord orders a retreat when they are less then halfway to the Palace. The city is still firmly in the hands of your foe with nearly 3,000 men being lost to the mists.

What will you do now?

The fleet limps back to Lastlight and then to the Wine-Dark Sea. You are able to get a treaty with the Eagles securing the holdings you have seized but little more. Even more dire news awaits you when you return with Emperor Shem having passed away with his eldest son Alexos being crowned as the new Emperor. Faith in the Empire has been shaken to the core with so many legionnaires dead for some minor territorial gains and to help a long hated foe. Some villages have had an entire generation of men return without their eyes and many more will fight no longer their minds scarred by the things they saw and heard within those terrible mists. As such finding replacements to refill the spots in the Legions is hard. Priracy has also begun to once again flourish in the Starless Sea with the mighty eagle fleet that once patrolled those waters being shattered.

A phenomenon is sweeping the nation and it is truly an odd one. Children’s dolls fashioned out of clay and cloth or even porcelain and silk from the east. The majority of these dolls are made to look like dead fathers, sons and brothers who many children shall grow up without during these trying times.

The Empire is beset by troubles on all sides. In the north a group of wealthy merchants have declared the creation of the Free Northern League who seek to declare the independence of Dragon’s Graveyard who have gathered many Thulean and Sunset priates to their aid, on Olaz groups of guerrillas under the banner of Ifit have risen lighting fire to the Yoresh factories and murdering tax collectors, and lastly a noble claiming descent from the last King of Bojmor has been gathering men to his banner hiding out in the Northern Continental Woods.

A legion is deployed and within a mere week they have rounded up all the perpetrators, it seems they all had gotten matching bird tattoos on their asses and were easy to identify that way. Overall it was only around twenty men and really not that huge of a threat in the first place.

The Free Northern League has begun to purchase supplies and mercenaries from the Iron King.
The King of Bojmor has finally left his forest hideout marching down the river towards the city of Bojmor itself, reports place this army at around 5,000.
The Brightlords of the Continental Legions report an increase in Beastmen raids and predict a new Beastmen Invasion will happen within the next five years.

The largest sacrifice ever held is given to Galoris with it taking several days to complete throwing all the traitors off the cliff. The lights shine under the cliff for several days after with shades of green and gold. The Priests eventually reveal that Galoris has gifted us the knowledge of how to smith her divine metal! She has revealed it requires a complex alchemical and enchantment process but the ore can be found in several places across the Empire such as Merli, Teris and near Bojmor. The metal she simply refers to as Oceanite.

The Empire is the blessed child of Galoris, and all the Lightwatchers will answer is call.

The ancestors ask of this and Galoris wants to see the empire defended and prosper.

We will not deny this. Not to the Empire ! Not to the Emperor ! NOT TO GALORIS !

With a heavily religious spin recruitment propaganda is spread across the Empire with the priesthood mentioning it in every sermon and lesson. Works of art are erected showing noble legionnaires slaying beastmen and receiving direct blessings from Galoris. An interesting bit of culture has developed over the past generations, after the Mistlight war many of the men that survived returned home with artifact weapons. These weapons are often given to whatever son in the family joins the military or even cousins. With the reminder of the holy duty of every man in the Empire and these reminders of ancestral duty the ranks of the Legions once agains swell to full capacity.

New siege engineer detachments are created for the legions, a hundred men dedicated to maintaining and firing siege equipment. While they are proficient with catapults and ballistas they are mostly focused on the use of cannons and Dragonfire carts. The Dragonfire carts are proving most effective alongside grenades against the Beastmen who prefer to rush in as a horde. Cannons are still in very recent development lacking large range and accuracy but when they do hit they have a devastating effect.

The Continental Brightlords report that all attacks against the wall have ceased, this lull in activity for the Beastmen is completely unprecedented.

The coffers are scraped for the construct of a great many monuments across the Empire. In an effort to foster unity each lordship is allowed to choose their own heroes which shall now adorn the many cities and villages. This project has done great things for the unity of our nation fostering a sense of worth between all the peoples that inhabit our great empire!

The Cotninetnal Brightlords still report no activity from the Beastmen, even having gone as far as the Profane Fortress with no Beastmen in sight. It is only when we receive new from the Golden Empire that things make more sense. A horde of Beastmen has sacked Shancheng and is sacking it’s way down the river of Gentle Hope.

The war in the east is going poorly, to say the least, while your men fight well the same cannot be said for the troops of the Golden Empire. This Beastmen Horde led by the fearsome Goodthinker numbers near to ten million and is backed by several hundred horrific monsters. The Golden Empire simply wasn’t ready for such a large attack from their rear and is being swept away. The Iceborn have also pushed back taking back territory recently lost. All can see this is the end of the Golden Empire with many refugees fleeing into Iceborn, Heavenly Kingdom or even your own Kingdom for safety. This has actually lead to a flood of wealth, manpower and resources into your kingdom.
