Percy visited Luminescence cave where he helped the wild Pokémon inhabiting the place by putting a stop to the battle-crazed Elite 4 member who was tormenting them. After successfully dealing with the freakishly muscular brute, Percy met with Kali and formed a tenuous alliance with her to deal with the monstrous Behemoths before Maximillian Blackstone (Professional trainer and massive asshole) and his group of Blackstone grunts gets them first.

You got a new, unexpected ally to help you deal with this conspiracy, even though Kali wouldn’t be your first choice, but beggars can’t be choosers, and who knows, maybe she’ll be a little less hostile to you from now on.

You sealed the deal with a handshake, and surprisingly enough Kali didn’t look that disgusted at the prospect of touching your hand.

For the time being you’ve decided to lay low and try to not raise much attention to yourself until you manage to get the documents to Dr.Aspen, you are hoping she could help you find a way to deal with the Behemoths and keep them contained, in the meantime you’ll try to gather some more trustworthy allies to help you deal with the crazy power hungry Vespiquen and any other possible threat that might arise.

Right now, you are still in luminescence cave striking up some friendly conversation with Kali’s mons, her Arcanine is particularly fond of you since you were the one who convinced Kali to get him out of the shelter.

Right now, Kali is snapping pictures of different parts of the cave, the camera on her hands looks pricey and awfully complicated to use but she seems to handle it with ease. After she’s done you promised to treat her to some coffee to further ease the tensions between the two of you.

You check your phone to kill some time, you check Dr. Ford messages and find various new videos al waiting to be translated, you are really lagging with those translations. You also take a moment to send a message to your sister to see how Mimikyu is doing back home. Instead of waiting for a reply you decide to approach Kali, something about her photography makes you curious. You just hope her aesthetic sense isn’t like her little sister’s.

You slowly approach her, trying to find the right words to address her casually. She doesn’t seem to notice you. The girl is completely fixated on whatever is on the lens of her camera. You look around until you notice an old looking Corsola partially covered with dimly glowing moss who is peacefully sleeping as a small group of young curious Chinchou approach it, creating a small spot of concentrated light inside the cave. The wall behind them has small specks of glowing moss that resemble the starry night sky

You get closer and closer to Kali, trying to not disturb the water types, you get close enough to whisper into her ear, she doesn’t seem to mind or maybe she doesn’t notice you. You lean into her and quietly ask “So, you like Corsola? Chinchou? Or Water-types in general” Kali falls back while violently shoving you to the side, “JESUS FUCK! You scared me!” the surprised girl loudly exclaims. Her scream startles the Corsola and the Chinchou group who all hastily return underwater, Kali notices this and sighs disappointed.

Seems like you scared her. “You ruined the shot asshole! Don’t creep on me like that, how do you even do that?” the scared girl asks.
“I’m pretty good at being unnoticed!” You respond quite proud in your abilities. “Sorry, It’s just that I thought it was a nice surprise, seeing you taking pictures of wild mons, I was sure you would be taking pictures of yourself and your team. Didn’t think you’d had an interest in actual photography outside of that.”

“Whatever, I already took enough pictures of them. And you really think I’m that shallow?” Kali responds a bit annoyed.

You nod effusively to confirm her claims and then ask her to show you some of her pictures. She brushes you off “if you are really interested in my work, just check my blog,” she says dismissively.

And you do that, checking her online blog you find more of it. Besides the myriad of pictures of herself (including some of her in a swimsuit that you try to ignore but just can’t ), her team, and trendy coffee shops, there are a lot of pictures that aren't what you expected.

Photos of all kind of sceneries, the vast sands of the Whistling dessert where small groups of Trapinch dig into the sand as a couple of Flygon soar the skies over them, random trainers battling in the streets of Ibarra Village, the lush vegetation of the swamp surrounding Adage Village filled with all kinds of Bug-Type mons. A Wailord rearing his head near the coast of Lacrimosa Bay, a Meowstic sleeping under the shade of a tree. A Psyduck taking a nap near the edge of a river.

There are various photos of Pokémon sleeping in their natural habitat, seems like a common theme. Also, photos of nature, there are quite a lot of those as well.

Strangely enough, there's no photo of her with any other human.

Apologize for ruining the shot, ask them to arrange themselves into a shape, like a heart or something. So you get that cool underwater glow to it.

You decide to make up to Kali for ruining her shot. Using your heavy duty flashlight you commune with the Chinchou and Lanturn that live on the cave, flickering on and on you ask them to approach the surface and arrange themselves in a simple shape, a circle, a heart whatever works really, you just need them to be visible enough. One of the Chinchou asks you if this is some sort of “mating ritual” to impress your human “partner”, you are quick to deny such claims.

Kali seems confused at first but once she starts to understand what you are doing, she’s quick to prepare her camera and shot away. It takes her quite a while, the girl took tons of pictures. Your mons seem to be enjoying the view as well, Vulpix in particular is mesmerized by the sight calling it “Something out of a Fairytale” her eyes shimmer with a childlike marvel that’s surprisingly contagious, Prince, Kadabra, Loudred, Kali’s team and even Houndour seem to be mesmerized to a certain degree. It’s honestly beautiful. And judging by Kali’s poorly hidden smile, she might think the same.

Once she’s satisfied Kali stashes away her camera, a slight satisfied smile is drawn on her face, when she turns to you her expression turns to smugness.

[Kali]:Wow Percival, first you promise to treat me coffee and now this? You really are sucking up to me. If you keep this pace, I might just begin to tolerate you.

[Percy]: C’mon Kali, don’t start your shit, I’m just trying to be decent with you, also I’m sorry for ruining your shot earlier.

[Kali]:I know, I’m just taking the piss out of you, I also know that you are too much of a softie to hold it against me seriously. Now, let’s go get that coffee, I know a great place.

Behind that self-satisfied smarminess of her, you start to see some glimpses of real gratefulness, for once her words didn’t sound as sharp and condemning as they usually do, they were more playful. Once you teleported back to the populated area of Lacrimosa bay Kali lead you to the coffee shop, walking a couple of steps ahead of you and tugging your shirt to me along whenever you got distracted with any interesting Pokémon walking trough the streets, which happened pretty often.

You arrive at an almost empty café. It seems to be locally owned. The barista is a middle-aged man who’s helped out by his Tyrogue. Besides you and Kali the only other clients seem to be a couple of tired hotel workers.

You are sitting in a table with Kali, taking sips of your iced coffee, you must admit that Kali was right, the coffee is pretty damn good. but there’s something that has been nagging you since you two sat down here. You two haven’t exchanged a word.

You considered talking about the problems at hand and the behemoths but that’s the sort of subject you can only talk about in total privacy.

You turn to Kali as she slowly drinks the sugary blasphemy that is her Frappuccino, chock full of chocolate syrup, caramel, whipped cream, and other confectionaries, you aren’t sure if she’s trying to give off a “girlish-vibe” or if she just enjoys sickly sweet stuff. Glancing from time to time at her phone.

She notices you staring at her, dumbfounded with your mouth wide open as it ineffectually tries to start a conversation. Her gaze is almost hurtful.

[Kali]: You know? You don’t have to force yourself to find something to say. I’m not expecting much of a conversation with you.

[Kali]:But if you are willing to try, the least I could do is humor you. It might help you act less autistic whenever you get to talk with a human you actually like.

[Kali]:You got three options, come up with something interesting to talk about, subject yourself to my questions because I got quite a few or we part ways here.

You consider apologizing for calling her a bitch multiple times, but you feel like she hasn’t earned it yet. Instead, you concede and decide to answer whatever she has to ask. She seems quite pleased with this turn of events, redirecting all her attention to you while sipping on that disgustingly sweet beverage.

She smacks her palm against the table just loud enough to catch your attention and raises three of her fingers

[Kali]: There are three points I’d like to address.

[Kali]: First thing, what’s your relationship with the girl from Madeleine village? The religious one who we “rescued” from the Arsonist, she seemed to know you and was pretty friendly with you. And I believed that before Eli you had no actual meaningful human relationships aside from your family it doesn’t add up.

[Kali]: Second, Aleida, the girl who is traveling with Dick. Is she a threat? Wasn’t she a sympathizer of the revolutionaries? How dangerous is she?

[Kali]: And the third one, do you think I’m attractive or why are you staring so intensely at me? Is creeping me out.

[Percy]: I WAS NOT! I was looking at you like any normal human would, in a platonic “almost but not quite friends” kind of way! I get more intense when looking at Pokémon, and I mean that in a completely normal way! I’m just trying to not be rude and pay attention to you!

You stop your outburst for a moment when you notice that Kali is smiling coyly again, trying to hide her mocking expression behind her drink, she is trying to get a reaction out of you!

Huh, you are getting a bit better at picking up this kind of things.

[Percy]: You are fucking with me again aren’t you?

[Kali]: You are becoming more perceptive Percival, bravo. But for reals, your gaze is intense, ease up. Relax.

[Percy]: Id’ relax if you weren’t trying to get under my skin at any given opportunity!

Her tone turns serious, a stark contrast with her playful teasing. Her words feel icy, cold and dangerous. Her eyes match her voice as they fixate into yours as daggers pointed directly at you.

[Kali]:You aren’t even humoring the idea of asking Elizabeth or Richard for help in our, ahem, “private matters” are you?

[Percy]: That sounded more like a warning than a question.

[Kali]: As I was saying, you are surely getting more and more perceptive.

You consider Kali’s word for a moment, even though you are sure they can pull their own weight. You’d feel horrible if something bad happened to any of them.

[Kali]: I’d prefer it if our allies were a little more “inconsequential”. Like those meat shields from the Arsonist group that you convinced to help you.
[Percy]: Calling them meat shields it’s just a little screwed up.
[Kali]: That’s what they are Percival.

You continue arguing with Kali back and forth, stopping the discussion whenever things started to get heated, after a while you finally reach an agreement.

[Kali]:Even though I would prefer NOT TO get them involved, I guess they could prove useful, but only in case of emergencies and only if we have no one else to help us.

[Kali]:And if you even dare to mention something vaguely related to what we are doing to either of them without consulting it with me first consider our previous agreements through!

[Percy]: Yeah sure, whatever I´ll keep my mouth shut.

And finally, Kali asks about Jeanne once again, wondering what your relationship with the girl is. At first, you are hesitant to answer because if you wanted to explain it to her properly you’d had to explain a lot of things about yourself, your childhood, your Poké-communication abilities, your traumas, and telling all these things to Kali feels like giving her ammunition to torment you further.

Even though she may have felt like she didn’t have a choice, she revealed to you a whole lot of things about herself, and you feel as if it’s only fair to do the same. You adopt a more comfortable position as you tell Kali about everything that happened during your childhood years at Adage Village. Rattata’s death, rejecting almost every other human that approached you, convincing yourself that you were a Pokémon, Jeanne trying to take care of you and her useless attempts at getting you to talk normally, getting therapy…

As you ramble on and on, she sits there and listens, her attention is fixed completely on you, she stops drinking her beverage to get every word that comes out of your mouth.

[Percy]: And that’s it! Sorry for the long boring story.

[Percy]: So, go on, call me a freak, or a Poké-Fidler or whatever insults you have cleverly come up with in this last 15 minutes.

[Kali]: I’m not going to insult you, asshole.

[Percy]: You just did.

[Kali]: Shut up.

Kali’s eyes won’t meet yours anymore, they seem to wander around the table while her fingers tap the surface of the table restlessly, she seems distraught unsure of what to say next. She finally lets out a sigh and faces you.

[Kali]: It’s just that. I know I was the one who asked, but you shouldn’t share that kind of things with me. It’s not good to show vulnerability to others.

[Kali]: But in some way, I’m glad you did.

[Kali]: …I’m sorry for your loss.

Her face seems solemn, understanding, you wish to know if her sympathy is honest or if it’s just another of her masks.

For a moment she reaches for your hand but pulls back rather quickly

As you walk outside of the café, ruffling Arcanine’s lush fur before parting ways Kali catches up to you from behind.

[Kali]: Hey, wait!

[Kali]: I just wanted to let you know that this doesn’t suddenly change anything between us. We are still not friends, just “allies”. So, don’t get any wrong ideas ok?

[Percy]:Aha! You said we are STILL not friends! That means I got a chance!

[Kali]: You are ridiculous.

[Kali]:…and, you’ve gotten smoother when you talk about serious stuff, keep up the good work.

As she gets on top of her Arcanine ready to return to her room she turns her head to you and shows you a smile, it’s tired, melancholic, but it feels real, whatever that means. As she rides into the night you keep thinking about that smile.

When you arrive back at the Villa you notice that everyone else is already there. "Sup Weirdo" Eli is the first one to acknowledge you, she's cleaning and polishing "Friday" her Honedge, the rest of her team seems quite exhausted, seems like the Water Gym took a toll on them.

Gareth and Dick are currently settling their differences competing in a fighting videogame, the two of them seem to be really into it. Prince seems to be interested in them.

Professor Maple is currently passed out in a nearby couch and Aleida is posing for "Avenger" the Trubbish while he sketches the scantily clad girl.

Kali's character arc has been top tier no doubt. But her relationship with Percy is all about how she feels like she can show a side of herself to him which nobody else sees. Which is normally a sign of deep trust but in her case it seems like she picked Percy because he an autist and no one would believe him if he outed her as a bitch. The other two girls also have something in common with him. Aleida shares Percy's "ability" and Jeanne has a history with him and kinda puts him on a pedestal. Eli hangs out with Percy because she likes him as a person and thinks he's worth hanging out with and thats why she's best girl.

I'm awfully excited to get back on this ride with Percy and the gang. It's a shame that more people aren't interested.

Tribe after tribe, conquest after conquest. The BeastMaster has successfully managed to unify a great deal of the northern parts of the region under one singular reign. We have established a central city where we oversee every single tribe that has joined our group.

But as we expand on size and power, so does our problems. Conflicts and skirmishes have become commonplace on the southernmost parts of our empire, we are constantly under attack by groups of men that fight alongside the beasts, they don’t use any form of capture devices, instead, they believe to be equals to the creatures we have already tamed.

These savages who have forsaken their humanity by serving wretched, gigantic creatures that they call “nature spirits”, they believe that what we are doing, capturing and taming the beasts is a grave sin that must be absolved with blood. Such foolish notions.

And to make matters worse, our leader, The BeastMaster hasn’t let go of his insane dream of capturing and taming a God. He’s spending our resources to find them instead of dealing with these rebellious tribes of heretics attacking our settlements.

Sending expeditions to find beasts of myths and legends. The Guardians of the Sea, Sky, and land. The Colossi who shaped the world and his servants made of rock, ice, and steel. Such foolishness.

He believes that if he manages to tame one, no one will dare to oppose him again, an unquestioned reign, after all, who would dare oppose the man who commands a God?

I tried to convince him to stop but he stubbornly replied, “I must capture all of them”, what is worse is that he’s making me focus all of my research on creating containers capable of capturing and holding these titans who might not even exist.

Still, I soldier on, even if he is a fool, the man is still our leader. And maybe I may be able to create a capturing device capable of holding these “Nature spirits” that command the tribes of the south. I need a place to keep my research safe.

As you explain your findings to the group, they seem to ease up a little bit, Dick, in particular, seems plenty interested on the ancient texts and your translations and even offers to pay you upfront for a copy of them.

Eli likes the prospect of catching one of this “PokéGods” even if they probably wouldn’t be eligible for participating in the league since they are probably considered extremely endangered species if they are so scarce, she thinks that she might be able to get some attention and money for capturing one.

[Eli]:Hunting down a God, that shit would get anyone into the league ASAP!

Gareth and Professor Maple are a bit more skeptical, they think this “Guardian of the Sea” may just be a particularly large Wailord carcass.

[Professor Maple]: Legends are just products of the human imagination, a way to explain what seems inconceivable on those times, I’m sure that calling whatever creature they found a “God” is unfomented.

[Gareth]: Yeah, what the smart lady said. If not, why hasn’t anyone found another one in all these years?

Professor Maple seems to take delight on Gareth recognizing her as smart. Giggling like a flustered schoolgirl, but who cares about that right now? You are talking about PokéGods!

As you keep discussing your findings, Aleida who has been ignoring the exchange while playing with Gareth’s team intervenes.

[Aleida]: I think that’s wrong, there are only two “PokéGods”. The other ones may look like divine beings, but the only true gods of this regions are the “Two Primordial Dragons”

[Aleida]: The Guardian of the sky who rules over the Guardian of the Sea, the Land, and the Colossi.

[Aleida]: And the Guardian of the Deep, the entombed one, sealed away in a deep slumber until the end of this cycle comes forth.

After saying her piece she quickly returns to what she was doing, helping Sandrider the Trapinch balance his humongous head while walking.

After some insisting from Aleida’s part Dick finally concedes, he’ll take her somewhere next week. An excited Aleida discusses possible date plans with her Deino, including but not limited to: teaching Dick how to talk to his Bagon, hunting with bows and arrows on the wilderness or going shopping for a disguise so she doesn’t get arrested if someone recognizes her. There’s a childlike enthusiasm on Aleida, her intention seems completely pure and she doesn’t seem to have a grasp about romance or relationships, she sees this as an opportunity to become better friends with Dick.

Meanwhile, Dick glares at you, accusingly, “Are you happy now?” and indeed you are, they seem to be good together. You respond to Dick with an enthusiastic thumbs up. He seems frustrated at first but finally gives up and starts to make a plan with Aleida.

After breakfast Kadabra teleports you back to Madeleine town, you are supposed to meet Jeanne at a park near the church, but once you get to the designated location the only person in sight is a tall imposing man wearing a priest’s garb, he’s sitting on a bench, hunched back, with a solemn and stern expression.

As you start to roam around the park in search for your friend the man dressed like a priest stands up and walks toward you, you can’t help but feel a tad intimidated, upon closer inspection you notice the scars engraved on his face, his glasses shimmer in the sunlight in a strange disconcerting manner.

He gets in your face, looking down on you with a grin. He takes you by the shoulder with a grip that’s a bit too strong and gets near your ear, his breath feels unnaturally cold.

Oh god, you hope he doesn’t try to molest you.

[Priest?]: Lad, you’ve been dealing with dangerous things haven’t ya?

[Priest?]: Dark, forgotten things. Things that would be better left alone.

The priest let’s go of you and takes a step back before you can ask him what’s his deal you are interrupted by a familiar voice.

Jeanne jogs towards you completely ignoring the towering man that stands between the two of you. She seems quite excited and cheery. Her enthusiasm would be contagious if it wasn’t for the strange man standing near you. Jeanne casually says goodbye to the priest and holds tightly onto your arm. A bit too close for comfort, her short hair brushing against your face, you’ll be mildly flustered if it wasn’t for the strange man staring down at you with a severe intensity.


[Jeanne]: O-oh, d-don’t mind him. Mr. Arclight s-sometimes says weird things to get people to come to Sunday service.

You decide to pay no mind to the words of the priest, today is a day to relax. And no vague, threatening warnings will change that! Pretending that you didn’t hear the priest you head back to the beach. Jeanne gives a polite farewell to her legal guardian who responds only with a nod before he walks away.

One teleportation later you are back at the beach with everyone else. After changing into some swimming trunks that Dick lent to you, you step forward to the promised land.

The sky is clear, the sun is hot, and everyone seems to be having a good time

The Pokémon are playing on the sand. Loudred, Kadabra, Prince, and Vulpix are having a sandcastle building competition against Eli’s team, they are getting pretty hyped up. Houndour is resting by himself laying on the hot sand while watching them from afar.

Ankhati the Cacnea seems to be enjoying the sunlight, his BlackGlasses make him seem really cool for a Cacnea.

Gareth is currently working the grill aided by Dick’s serviceable Golett Prometheus, Professor Maple is by the side of the college dropout drinking pretty hard and fast, she’s downing beer bottles as if there were no tomorrow.
Alexandro the Bagon waits eagerly for the meat to be done, growling at Gareth so he’ll hurry the cooking up.

Dick is also here already, he brought a watermelon, a stick and a blindfold for some reason, he said they were “Essential components for any beach-related get-together” whatever that means.

This would be a pretty nice moment if it weren’t’ for, THEM.

Realizing that touching directly either of these girls may cause an unwelcome reaction in your pants, you ended up telling Kali to help Jeanne instead,

Instead, you decide to join Eli into the water. Afterall you don’t have the chance to visit the sea very often.

You start running towards the sea and five headfirst into the water, it’s cool and refreshing perfect for this summer weather. The moment you get your head out of the weather for a breath of air you receive an energetic splash of saltwater directly into your face. After shaking the water off like a Stoutland you look to your attacker whose playful smile invites you to strike back “Kept me waiting nerd”.

You waste no time to splash her back, the childish battle makes her laugh heartily, you find her coarse unfeminine laughter strangely endearing, adorable even. Without realizing it you are laughing too.

She seems happy that you chose to come over with her, and honestly, you are too. She’s one of the few people that you can relax around, you’ve shown her how you are, and she seems to tolerate all your weird mannerism more than most people, heck, sometimes she seems to like them.

You kept playing around with Eli, she seemed in unusually high spirits, she’s always loud and energetic but today she seems to be even more than other days. You needed to catch you to breathe after so much swimming around, so you told the girl to give you a small break.

[Eli]: What’s the matter weirdo? Can’t keep up the pace?

[Eli]:Man, is my first time seeing the goddamn sea, how can I not be excited?

[Eli]:The clear almost crystal like the blue color of the water, the small waves crashing against my back, the salty taste of the breeze.

[Eli]:Shit’s fuckin beautiful.

Eli then told you that since her family doesn’t have the chance to travel. So, this is her first time in a place like this, actually, this whole trip is the first time she steps out of her home city.

She didn’t want to treat her journey as a “vacation trip” like most trainers in the region do, but she’s glad that she can’t take a day off from all the bounty hunting, battling trainers and training her team.

While you catch your breath you take a moment to gaze upon her figure, the black colored swimsuits seem to accentuate her figure, she's more "developed" than most girls her age, this is the first time you noticed how curvy and well toned her body is, it's no surprise since she always works out with her mons. Her thighs and bottom are particularly captivating. Just stick some fake Houndour ears in there, maybe a tail too and you could die a happy man.
