We play as Percival Williams, a socially awkward Pokémaniac with a knack for communicating with Pokémon.
He’s currently on his journey across the Aztlan region while aiming to become a Professional Trainer. He has become tangled up in various sketchy business and situations regarding shady corporations, armed revolutionaries, psychics, giant Pokémon rulers, and dumb teenager stuff.

Your team so far consists of:
Houndour
Mimikyu(Currently incapacitated) Resting at home.
Loudred Vulpix (Alolan)
“Prince” (Elekid)

Traveling partners:
-Kadabra: A teleporting friend.
-Eli: A punkish girl who aims to be the next regional Pokémon champion
-Gareth: 20 something college dropout who’s starting his Journey a bit too late

Status:
-Helping out a murderous psychic/little sister figure that visits our brain from time to time.
-Percy’s back is busted for trying to carry his Loudred as is she were still a Whismur
-27 days (Approximately) before the fall of Adage Village.
-2 Gym Badges

LAST TIME:
Percy followed his old childhood friend Jeanne to the base of operations of the criminal known as the Arsonist. There he found some clues to the Arsonist motives, information on another Behemoth who seems to be working for the revolutionaries and recruited the remainders of the Arsonist group to join him against the Bug Queen who’s planning to invade Adage Villain in a couple of weeks.

After having a little heart to heart with Jeanne Percy moves onwards to “Luminescence Cave” a hidden spot located near the coast of Lacrimosa Bay where various uncommon Pokémon seem to gather around.

Saturday. 5:00 pm, 12th day of your Journey.
- 25 days (Approximately) before the fall of Adage Village.
Using Kadabra’s teleportation you return to Lacrimosa Bay. Deciding to make the most of your day you go in search for the hidden “Luminescence cave”. You follow Remoraid’s instruction and head towards the coastal outskirts of the city.

As you get near the outskirts of the city you start to see the local workers and some random trainers cleaning up the beaches, tons of trash are produced daily in this touristic destination, so keeping the beaches clean is a never-ending job. You can spy Gareth working alongside the locals with his team. His Wimpod, Bug-man seems to be enjoying the activity, scarfing down anything barely edible that he finds. He seems busy with his job, so you decide to not bother him for the time being.

Once you get far enough from civilization you notice those “rocky spots” that Remoraid told you about, Luminescence Cave should be located near them.
The water currents seem to be a bit faster and more chaotic in these parts of the beach. The only way to get through them would be with a Pokémon who’s a proficient swimmer and some diving equipment. Or, maybe Kadabra could lend you a hand using his telekinesis to get you through these obstacles.

>Have Kadabra use his Telekinesis to get you to the cave.
>Some Pelippers seem to be flying nearby, try to get their attention with some food, maybe they can assist you.
>Let’s try to call some Water-types nearby to see if they would be willing to help.
>She's not a water type but you are sure Loudred could swim through the currents without a problem while carrying you. It could help her training. (Needs roll:???)
>Other/write-in.

As you approach the water you notice that Houndour is starting to get nervous, he tries to maintain his serious almost aggressive expression but you can notice that he instinctively tucking his tail, his legs seem to turn jittery at times, there's hint fear on his eyes.

You try to tell him not to worry but he retorts by barking “This is not the place for a fire type. Surrounded by an unfathomable amount of water and those who dwell on it, any misstep could mean the end to me, so I need to be cautious!” Vulpix tries to tease Houndour about his newfound fear but the Dark/Fire type is too preoccupied with the sea to humor her attempts.

You ask Kadabra for help to reach the cave, the psychic mon obliges. You get all of your team back into their Pokéball to make the task easier for Kadabra.

Using his psychokinetic powers Kadabra moves through the air dragging you behind. You feel like a puppet being moved by invisible threads.

You approach a particularly rocky part of the coast where waves crash against boulders and jagged rocks, keeping your eyes peeled for any sign of Pokémon life. Strangely enough, this area of the coast seems to be currently empty but judging by the presence of moss and various nests, there should be at least some mons living near the surroundings.
As you move through the rocky coast you finally found what it looks to be the entrance to the cave, there seems to be a faint glow on the walls that becomes more prominent the deeper the cave goes. But still, there are no mons here. Not even Wingull seem to approach this place.

As you keep examining the entrance you notice what it seems to be dim flashing yellow lights under the water, you tell Kadabra to get you closer to the water so you can get a better look. If you had to guess, it’s probably a group of Chinchou and Lanturn. The lights seem to flash in a pattern of sorts, you try to jog your memory on Chinchou’s and Lanturn’s signal based communication to decode their message…

It’s a warming, they are telling others to not approach the cave.

>Dive into the water, try to communicate with the Chinchou directly. (Needs roll, Swimming is harder thanks to your hurt back)
>Let’s enter the cave.
>Send someone to scout ahead. Who? (Loudred: Best combat capabilities, Houndour: Will act more cautiously than the others, Vulpix: Her small size makes it easier for her to sneak around, Prince: He’s a smart cookie.)
>Other/write-in.

>Use Elekid lighting up and off repeatedly (or Loudred moving her arm up and down in front of him while he's lit, if it's hard for him to keep toggling his own natural electricity on and off for light) to signal back to the Chinchou and Lanturn. With this close to them, they should be able to notice even if you're above the water.

You tell Kadabra to drop you off near the mouth of the cave, the water continues to flow inside the cave, but there’s also a rugged rock path that leads inside, it’s a bit narrow but your whole team manages to fit in it.

You decide to try and get a word with the mons sending the warning signals. Since diving into the water could prove to be dangerous with your current injuries you’ll try to get their attention by other means.

“Prince, Loudred I need your help for a second”…

You manage to come up with a way to simulate how Lanturn and Chinchou communicate with each other. Prince the Elekid starts to rotate his arms generating electrical charges that travel between his horns. Meanwhile Loudred will be moving her arms up and down in front of him at your command. You sent a simple coded message to try and lure the mons out. “NEED HELP?

You could have probably accomplished the same thing by using your heavy-duty flashlight but solving problems with Pokémon is strangely satisfying. Maybe it’s because, that’s how human civilization started.

It takes them a while to respond, they are probably nervous by whatever it’s inside the cave. Finally one of the Lanturn rears it’s antenna out of the water and sends a weak electrical discharge towards Prince, your Pokémon responds in kind. The Lanturn only wanted to confirm that your group wasn’t hostile. After a brief moment the rest of the Water/Electric types join their brethren swimming their way to the surface.

After introducing yourself and your friends, the deep-sea mons explain what’s going down in the cave. Another human came before you, he was accompanied by an Incineroar and a Hitmonlee. Most mons kept away from him since humans aren’t common around these parts. But one Tentacruel carelessly got in his line of sight. The man jumps into the water and started fighting with the mon easily overpowering him, then he moved on to any Pokémon that tried to stop him.

Most Pokémon got out of the place once the fight started, but a couple stayed to tried and fend the invader off.

[Percy]: If he can hold his own against various mons at the same time, and with a type disadvantage, he must have some really strong Pokémon.

[Lanturn]: His servants looked terrifyingly strong, but he wasn’t commanding them to fight.

[Lanturn]: He was attacking us, with his bare fists.

Leave it to me”, you say in a dry tone. Trying to keep your head calm. You just can’t understand why someone would go out of his way to hurt mons, they are just living here in this cave, away from humans without troubling anyone. Sometimes you can’t help but be disgusted at humans.

You already have an idea of what will you be encountering inside. Best case scenario, it’s just some lunatic who’s getting himself into trouble trying to fight mons, you hope it isn’t Eli. Worst case scenario, he may be one of the most notorious Trainers in the region. Whichever the case, they are going to get a piece of your mind.

After tying up your *Escape Rope* to a nearby rock, just in case things get ugly and Kadabra can’t bail you out you enter the cave motioning your mons to follow you.

The cavern goes deep, becoming ampler as you walk inside. The walls are covered by diverse types of dimly glowing plants and fungi, they illuminate your way inside becoming more a and more prominent as you get deeper inside the cave. In other situation, you would stop to enjoy such a breathtaking view, but right now is not the time.

With every step you take, the sound of fighting becomes clearer. The sound of strikes reverberate inside the cave they sound heavy, powerful and painful.

A tall imposing figure, with hair as wild as a Pyroar’s mane, stands in the top of an unconscious and severely damaged Tentacruel whose floating in the water.

Surrounding him a group of the same type of mons are spewing *Acid* at him, the figure dodges every attack moving almost by instinct. After the failed attack the Water-types try to constrict their aggressor with their tentacles, only for them to be swatted away with fast and precise strikes that you can’t quite follow. The humanoid figure grabs hold of one of the Tentacruel’s appendages and pulls him closer, then leaps into the air to deliver a devastating axe kick into the mon’s head, and finishes him off with a flurry of fists, leaving the Tentacruel unconscious in a matter of seconds.

In a nearby rock formation, an Incineroar and a Hitmonlee are calmly observing the battle, commenting on their Trainer’s fighting technique.

At first sight, you couldn’t believe that the musclebound figure in front of you was really human, he looked more akin to some tall variant of a Machamp or some fighting type mon you’ve never seen, but it wasn’t. It was a man. And obscenely strong man, his presence felt more threatening than any wild mon you’ve encountered before. The thing that set you off the most was his back, the overdeveloped muscles on his back seemed to form a demon’s face.

It was Keisuke Hanma, exiled from his natal country, came to Aztlan and became one of the current Elite 4.

The worst-case scenario.

He turns his head towards you and your group, his sights set on Loudred.

The man cracks a slight smile.

Then leaps into the air towards Loudred.

>“Heads up Loudred!” Try to dodge his attack. (Needs roll)
> “Humans shouldn’t fight mons!” Stand in his way.

“Head’s up Loudred!” You alert your mon so she can get out of harm’s way in time while jumping between the purple Pokémon and the martial artist trying to stop the senseless conflict. You stand tall and fearless, determined to not be shaken by the intimidating nature of the attacker.

[Percy]: Hey! Asshole! Why do you need to hurt them? The mons here aren’t bothering anyone! Humans shouldn’t…

You are cut short as the Elite 4 member lands a quick hit to the side of your skull. You didn’t even notice his fist coming close until it landed. It hurts quite a bit but is not as devastating as you thought it would be.

>You’ve got smacked in the head by Elite 4 Keisuke Hanma

Is that all you’ve got tough guy? It wasn’t even that bad! Getting your arm broken by a Tyrannitar and being shanked by Snorunt was way worse!

Maybe after recovering countless beatings by your fellow childhood classmates and getting yourself attacked by mons while trying to befriend every single Pokémon that you’d met, your pain threshold has become so high, you can withstand punches from the arguably “strongest man in the world”

Hahahaha! Suck it Hamna! Prepare for my counterattack!

Why aren’t your legs responding?

Why isn’t any part of your body responding?

Your vision starts to get blurry as you feel yourself fall to the ground and roll into the water helplessly, you try your damned hardest to move but it’s no use. As your body hits the water you start to feel your consciousness fade away. The last thing you see is Hanma approaching Loudred.

At the very least you’ve given Loudred a chance to dodge the attack.

>Percy has been knocked out.
>Reduced DC for Loudred’s evasive actions.

>Loudred: Dodge! DC: 60 (Reduced greatly thanks to you standing on the way)

Before everything goes black, you can see Loudred dodging a flurry of punches from the Elite 4 before hitting him with a *Supersonic* to confound him further.

….
After a while, you’ve managed to wake up. Kadabra is carrying you with his telekinesis while him and your team are fleeing from the Elite 4 and his two Pokémon. Everyone is moving as fast as they can towards the entrance of the cave, with Vulpix and Houndour shooting *Ice Shards* and *Smog* towards your pursuers in hopes of slowing them down. Loudred is carrying Prince since his stubby little legs aren’t the best for running.

The three of them seem to be shrugging off the assault from your mons, barely slowing them down. The Elite 4 member seems just a tad annoyed.

You are still feeling dizzy, not sure of what just happened, you try to get an explanation from Kadabra.

[Percy]: W-w-wut happened?

[Percy]: Did I caught him by surprise with a shoulder throw? I've seen Throh do it a hundred of times so I figured I could do the same.

[Kadabra]: He swatted you in the head and knocked you out, now he is following us and we are escaping.

[Kadabra]: Can’t teleport everyone away since they are out of their Pokéballs. We could seize the trainer down, but his Pokémon would be a problem.

[Kadabra]: He’s monstrously strong but he’s still only human. But those two, the Incineroar and the Hitmonlee, they are on a whole another level. They seem to be on the same level of the Pokémon that the terrorist used. They outclass us.

[Percy]:So, what’s the plan?

[Kadabra]: Getting away from them. Another idea?

You get everyone in their Pokéballs as fast as you can and command Kadabra to head up to the shore as fast as possible. If you can get him away from the cave and into dry-land you might have a better chance to stop him.
Closely behind you, the three attackers move towards your team, ready to strike as soon as they get near enough. The Hitmonlee tries to strike you down using his extendable legs but narrowly misses.

As you reach the entrance of the cave, you find yourself briefly blinded by the sunlight, as the salty sea breeze hits your face, just as you get out of the cave you hear a couple of heavy splashes behind you. Once your eyes adjust to the brightness you turn your head back to see the trainer swimming towards you in a desperate motion, tearing down any rocks that stand in his way with swift strikes with his right hand while dragging his Incineroar around with his left.

You are awe-struck by the idea of him being really human.

[Kadabra]: Hold on tight

You grab your psychic companion as tight as your arms can. With a series of quick teleportation “hops” Kadabra manages to make some distance between you and the Elite 4 member quickly reaching to the shore before he catches up to you. He drops you in the sand, a bit exhausted after those short bursts of psychic movement.

You let all your team out of their Pokéballs. Pointing towards the berserk Elite 4 member you tell them to take him down before he gets to the shore. Houndour, Vulpix, Loudred Prince and Kadabra get into position. Prince seems to be somewhat reluctant to attack.

[Prince]: Are you sure we aren’t going to kill him?

[Houndour]: It’s either him or us, besides that monster can probably take it. So, get ready to fire!

Everyone starts to shoot, and hell’s let loose. A hail of *Ice Shards* rain down into your attackers while Houndour spews various *Smog* projectiles. Vulpix follows ups her attack with a *Moonblast* aimed at the Hitmonlee while Prince to stop the swimming musclebound man with a *Thunder Wave* managing to paralyze him. Kadabra hits them with various *Psybeams* and Loudred lets rip a devastating*Ice Beam* freezing the water surrounding her targets. The tumultuous blasts of energy, smog and icy debris make it hard to discern what’s happening with the Elite 4 member and his mons.

Once you see your mons starting to get winded you call the assault off.

Frozen, Paralyzed, Poisoned and severely damaged but still conscious, unable to move the trio of assailants start be pushed farther and farther away by the violent waters of this part of the sea. The waves crash against them making them sink.

[Vulpix]: HAHAHA! These foolish mortals couldn’t stand a chance against my arcane freezing magicks! Don’t hesitate, Trainer, just give me the order and I’ll finish them! I’ll freeze their bodies to their very cores and revel as they slowly sink to an icy and lonely demise, their frozen corpses doomed to ever wander the deeps of the sea!

[Prince]: W-w-wait, are you for real?

[Vulpix]: Pfft, no, I’m just practicing my theatrics. Pretty good right? But for real, can I keep hitting them with Ice shards? It’s pretty fun.

You tell Vulpix to lay-off the Ice-shards for the time being, she seems visibly disappointed at your response.

A bit reluctantly, you decide to listen to Loudred’s suggestion. You don’t want anyone to get seriously hurt, you just wanted to teach them a lesson about hurting mons irresponsibly.

You give the order and the purple mon jumps into the water swimming towards the Paralyzed trainer and his mons, Kadabra follows after her ready aid her with his telekinesis. In a matter of minutes, your mon return to the shore, carrying with them the paralyzed attackers.

The large man has his eyes fixed at you. His face is frowning with deep resentment, he’s uselessly trying to articulate some words but the paralysis impedes him from doing so.
You aren’t sure if he’s livid or if his expression is only a result of poison and the electrical shockwave paralyzing his muscles. Either way, his face is terrifying. You tell Prince to use “Thunder Wave” on them once again, just in case.

You decide to play it safe and get out of here before he and his mons can move again. With everyone’s help, you get the Elite 4 and his team to the side of the road with a note reading. “I need medical attention”.

Houndour turns to you, a bit confused from the events that just took place and ask. “What’s next Partner?”

After telling the Lanturn that their home is safe once again you were thinking of doing…

>Staying a while in Luminescence cave, the mons native to the place should be returning soon-
>Trying your luck at the Water-Gym, before the day ends.
>Contacting Agent W, see if he still needs your help.
>Get back to the resort, you wanted to get some rest.
>Checking your phone, you seem to have a couple of new messages, but nothing that seems too urgent.
>Taking Kadabra out to eat, he deserves it after helping you out so much these past few days.

After making sure that the Elite 4 member can’t follow you any longer you return to the entrance of Luminescence cave to inform the Lanturn that the inhabitants of the cavern won’t be bothered by the violent man anymore. They seem to be truly grateful for your help telling you that you are welcome to visit them anytime you like.

The sound is starting to go down, as the sunlight becomes dimmer, the natural fluorescence lights of luminescence caves shine even brighter, it’s a mesmerizing view. The residents of the cave have started to return. The once desolate place little by little starts to fill with life, Gastrodon and Shellos emerge from behind the rocks, schools of Remoraid, Mantine, Lanturn, Chinchou, Gorebyss, Huntail, and Clamperl, as well as various other water types all, start to come near. The Tentacruel that was previously knocked out by the Elite 4 is particularly thankful to you. They are even willing to give you a ride in their heads if you need one.

>The Pokémon of Luminescence cave are indebted to you.

As the Water/Electric-type Pokémon disperse in search of the other inhabitants of the cave, you sit on a nearby rock and dial the number that Agent W gave you…

There’s no answer.

You try to dial him again a couple of times, but the results are the same, nobody picks up the phone, it’s just the dial-up tone followed by a pre-recorded message telling you to leave a message.

You guess he must be busy at the moment. Instead of bothering him you decide to send him a message only to notice that he sent you one a couple of hours ago.

“HARD STONE 241 SILVERPOINT. BEWARE OF HYPNOS”

One single message that makes no sense whatsoever. It’s rather ominous to be honest. You try to reply to his message but there are no answers. You hope he and his Beheeyem are okay.

After trying countless times to contact agent W you finally give up.

A bit disappointed you turn to your phone. You’ve got some new messages both from Eli and Kali. The pink-haired ex-delinquent sent you a couple of pictures. In the first one she’s with your grandfather who seems to be currently hospitalized “Old asshole just won’t die” she wrote. On the other one a severely bruised Eli is proudly holding the Water-Gym badge “3 to 2, You suck, Slowpoke”.

Also, Kali sent you a single message reading “I need a favor”.

>Let’s explore Luminescence cave, maybe talk to the mons living here.
>See if any mons is willing to have a friendly battle with you, Prince could use some training.

After some deliberation you decided to answer Kali first, just to see if she’s got anything important to say. Also, you want to take the opportunity to brag a little. Sending the girl, a picture you took of the paralyzed Elite 4 and his mons laying on the road.

[Percy]: (Online)So, what are you doing right now? Me? I just beat the shit out of one of the Elite 4. Which is pretty Poké-cool.

[Kali]: (Online) How? Why? What the fuck?

[Percy]: We attacked him all at once. Because he was being a mean asshole to innocent Pokémon and I’m not sure how to answer that third question.

[Kali]: And you just left him on the road?

[Percy]:I’m sure he’ll find somebody to drive him to a hospital. Someone ought to see him, he’s huge! And veiny, like a tall Conkeldurr, pumped up on rare candies.

[Percy]: Back to the main topic, what did you need? It is poké-advice? Cause I got tons of Poká-advice ready for you! For example, have you considered getting a Grass-type to complement that Water-Fire-Grass core you got with your team? I got some suggestions for that. Also, how’s Arcanine oral hygiene?

[Kali]:I can handle my own Pokémon just fine, thank you. What I wanted from you is something of a different nature.

[Percy]: Is this what people call, a “booty call”?

[Kali]:At this point, I don’t know if you are really this bad at human interaction or if you are just screwing with me.

[Percy]: It’s a bit of both.

(It’s more of the former than the latter but she must never know)

[Kali]:I ’m looking for a place, a cave where Pokémon live, and before you ask NO, I won’t be hurting any of those “little precious Pokémon” I just want to take some pictures. It’s supposed to look a bit like this.

The girl sends you a picture of what seems to be a cave dimly lighted by fluorescent plants and fungi, you look at Luminescence cave and confirm that is the same place.

[Kali]: No one knows where to find it, this is one of the few pictures of the place and the original photographer is anonymous. So, I thought, if humans don’t know about the cave maybe some Pokémon does. And seeing that you talk mostly to mons, maybe you knew something.

[Kali]:Also, there’s something I wanted to talk with you, in person. Not here. It’s something serious and I need your “skills” for this matter. Just the two of us.

A part of you wants to annoy her further and keep asking if it is a booty call, but you decide to push these immature thoughts aside and get serious.
You tell Kali you’ll go and met her, and also that you know the location of luminescence cave, you’ll take her there and supervise her actions since you don’t want her harming it’s inhabitants.

[Percy]:(ONLINE) I’ll teleport you in and out with Kadabra’s help. I’ll keep an eye on you so don’t try anything on the mons, you hear me?

[Kali]: (ONLINE)Sheesh, alright. I just want to take some pictures of the cave. I don’t care about the critters, so don’t worry about me beating them or molesting them.

[Kali]: Actually, I think I should be the one keeping an eye on you and those Pokémon. Even after you got that punk as a friend you still spend a lot of your time alone with them. It’s just a bit weird you know….

[Percy]:I don’t partake and won’t partake in any illicit and sexual actions regarding Pokémon! Not only it is regarded as immoral by both human morals and most Pokémon’s worldview our biology is different enough to warranty that the act would be deeply unsatisfying, to downright dangerous, harmful or even impossible to most!

[Kali]: That sounds like what an excuse a Pokéfucker would say. You seem to know an awful lot about the subject.

[Percy]: YOU IGNORANT BITCH! I just like girls in Poké-cosplay! That’s a perfectly normal thing to like! It’s not even a weird fetish! Is downright tame compared with other things that are perfectly accepted in our day and age!

[Percy]: AND IF I KNOW ABOUT THE SUBJECT IS BECAUSE I KNOW AND CARE ABOUT MONS IN GENERAL? DID YOU KNOW DOZENS OF MONS ARE ABUSED BY THEIR TRAINERS YEARLY IN THE REGION? DO YOU KNOW WHAT PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS THAT HAS ON THEM?

[Kali]:Sorry, I didn’t notice that I touched a nerve there.

[Percy]:You touched a lot of nerves. Why are you like this?

[Kali]: Honestly, I just enjoy it. I don’t have to watch my words around you, you already know how I am. It’s almost therapeutic. And don’t call me a bitch.

[Kali]: Also, I wanted to get my aversion for you out of my system before we met. What I want to discuss is serious, so I can’t let bullshit like this interrupt us.

[Kali]: So, no more antagonizing meaningless bullshit between the two of us? At least for today and tomorrow? Alright?

>Let’s try an act mature “Alright, just let get this over with.”
>You’ll stop the bullshit, but first, you want to make things even, NOBODY calls you a Pokéfucker and gets away with it. (Make things even, tell her how you feel about her/ Trash talk)

You are feeling pretty mad. Lately, you’ve been in the edge with all the things regarding the Arsonist, the Behemoths, White Veil, the revolutionaries happening around you. And Kali seems to know how to push your buttons.

You’d had enough of people thinking so low about you in school, and while you are somewhat accustomed to insults being thrown at you there’s something about Kali’s wording that just set’s you off.

Her tongue is so venomous that she might as well be a poison type. You aren’t unfamiliar with banter, but this is different from Eli’s playful teasing. Is as if Kali wanted her words to hurt, maybe someday she’ll mellow out and open up to you, but for the meantime, you’ll swallow your anger and try to cool your head and act a bit more mature.

[Percy]: Let’s just get this over with.

[Percy]: But I’m going to get an apology out of you one day.

[Kali]: Dully noted. I’ll be waiting for you.

Kali sends you her location, it isn’t too far away. Kadabra teleports you to the closest location that he has previously visited and you walk from there.

Kali’s waiting for you near a run-down looking hostel that’s packing with young trainers. Her Prinplup approaches you and your team beaming and overjoyed with open flippers, hugging your leg and then trying to different degrees of success to do the same with the rest of your team. Prince nearly runs away at the sigh of the overfamiliar water type and Houndour stops her with an aggressive growl. The Water types seems a little disheartened but still, she tries her best to be friendly with your team.

The cheerful Prinplup is a stark contrast to her trainer who only offers you a quick glance of contempt before dryly ordering “Let’s go”
……….

Back in luminescence cave, Kali takes a moment to stroll around the premises, you tell the mons living there that she is with you and that she won’t cause problems, still, you advised them against getting to close to her.
Kali is seemingly enthralled by the strange and captivating view of the fluorescent lights the paint the walls of the cavern. There’s seems to be a childlike wonder on her expression, but she’s quick to hide it once she noticed you staring at her.

[Percy]: So, what do you wanted to talk about?

[Kali]: I’ve been suspecting that you know more than you let on. That you are hiding something from everybody else.

[Percy]:What do you mean?

[Kali]: It’s something that has been on my mind lately. I heard from Eli about your meeting with that giant Electivire back at North Pass, and how you two defeated a giant Hippopotas at the desert.

[Kali]:I saw you deal with that megalomaniacal Vespiquen back in Adage Village. Also, you brought that strange Pokémon professor with you…

[Percy]:Yes, those where things that happened.

[Kali]: Don’t play dumb with me Percival. Tell me everything you know about the Behemoths.

>“Behemoths”? What are you talking about? Those were clearly totem Pokémon! (Play dumb, needs roll)
>Tell her EVERYTHING, show her some of the files you are supposed to deliver to Dr.Aspen.

Since we can't really enforce the demands after we give her what she wants we either have to rely on her good will to obey, or only offer small pockets of information to her- rather than giving her the full story. She gets a bit more info each time she proves she is following the demands.

[Percy]: I know about them.
[Kali]: Great, tell me everything you know.

Her expression turned softer and more approachable once you confirmed that you knew about this issue, she seemed to be in high hopes, but you can’t just give this information so easily. “Wait” you suddenly cut her off taking her by surprise.

[Percy]: Why should I tell you? Give me a reason to trust you.

[Kali]: You damn-

Her face turns to one of irritation and exasperation, she instinctively opens her mouth ready to protest and probably insult you, but she holds back in the last second. She takes a deep breath trying to calm down and then proceeds to slowly remove the black bracelet that suppresses her psychic abilities.

She makes a demonstration of her psychokinetic abilities to further emphasize her point making the nearby sand float into the air moving it around as she lets it fall down in a stream like motion.
[Kali]: Because as much as I dislike the idea, you are the only person that can help me right now.

[Kali]: Besides my direct relatives, you are the only one who knows about this side of me, about what happened with my sister and about my “real” personality.

[Kali]: Even if I only showed these things to you because I felt like I had no other choice, you are the only one who has seen this part of me.

[Kali]:And as far as I’m concerned, you haven’t tell anyone about it, anyone human that is.

[Kali]: I was expecting you to run your mouth about the whole thing and had countermeasures prepared, hell I was sort of looking forward to it.

[Kali]: But you never did. You never told anyone directly. Even with all the vitriol that gets between us. Even when Dick started asking questions you let me handle it instead of making things worse.

[Kali]: So for better or for worse, I began to (she makes a small pause, struggling to get the words out) to Trust you. To a degree. And I was expecting the feeling to be mutual.

[Kali]: But it’s pretty clear that you don’t, since you are still wary of me doing something to the mons in the cave.

[Percy]: Kali, I..

[Kali]: Do not make a mistake Percival! I trust you. NOT like you. And I know you don’t like me either.

[Kali]: But right now, I need you to trust me with this. You have no idea how important this is to me.

[Kali]: You are my only lead.

[Kali]: And if that’s not enough I’m ready to do anything to make you talk.

[Percy]: Is that a threat? Or an offer?

[Kali]: I said ANYTHING Percival!

[Percy]:Oh both, cool. Poké-cool.

[1/2]
>>
>>3523916

So, what do you want Percival? You ponder for a moment. First things first, you want to make sure her Pokémon are never mistreated.

You want to make sure they never go through any cruel training regime ever again and also that they have enough time to rest and relax, at least one day at the week, and she has to give you photographic evidence of such thing.

Kali agrees to these conditions, promising to keep you updated on the state of their team. She seems a little offended by it though but doesn't protest.

[Kali]: I hope that's enough. There's nothing else you want right?

>>
>>3524067
Why is it then?
>>
>>3524068
The main thing is that we're some weirdo autist. We also see her as the user she is. We've beaten her in fights and proved her methods were wrong.

She sees us as loser who shouldn't be anywhere near the level we are and that infuriates her.
>>
>>3524076
Hmm, nope, that doesn't sound like the truth. Sounds like petty grudge to me.
>>
>>3524089
I hate to break it to you but that's it. It is a petty reason. Kali is a petty person.
>>
>>3524089

As far as I can tell, Anon’s right. Of course there is some bias in there, mainly she is a unlikable brat, but she has on occasion seemed jealous of how we battle, and also is frustrated with our autism, compared to her well crafted conversations. I think it’s safe to say Percy himself has no idea what he’s doing, while we do (metagaming) and Kali dislikes how we make seemingly obvious mistakes in terms of sociality.

Of course, maybe it also has to do with the weird stuff she’s been involved in and how nosy we’ve been? That’d get on anyone’s nerves, honestly
>>
>>3524094
Yeah, but she's also a self-concious one. I think she can understand that being a well meaning autist doesn't warrant being the target of her verbal abuse. And for her training Pokémon is just a way to get her inheritance, I don't buy that beating her in a battle is all it takes to get on her nerves.
Anyways, I think you guys are jumping the ship way too fast. If we want to be all buddy-buddy with her, shouldn't we at least hear her side of the story instead of assuming what goes on her mind?
And this just confirms >>3524103 Percy doesn't know what to think of her. "Let's be friends and drink coffee" is kind of an 180 grades turn.

I actually agree that we should hear her side of the story. Also, I meant by ‘Percy doesn’t know what he’s doing’ as he’s just improvising fucking everything when it comes to involving people, not when it comes to his opinions of them. Anyways, yeah, she seems fairly reasonable when being ASKED about shit, if a little short tempered when it comes to us (though I guess that’s because we have a strained relationship with her :p)

Tell her and treat her to a coffee.
>>3524056
Ask her why does she hate you so much, clear things up.

Having secured the wellbeing of Kali’s Pokémon by upholding information and refusing to help her further unless she keeps the deal is a pretty good victory, but there’s something else that you would like.

[Percy]: Well, if you really trust me, then I feel like the least I should do is trust you back, but you are still not 100% trustworthy! That’s something you got to earn by keeping your promise! If you fail to follow our agreement don’t expect any further help from me!

[Kali]: Sure, whatever, I’ll send you pictures of my Pokémon every week. They are going to be fine. I know I made a mistake early on but I’m not a sadist, I’ll make sure to treat them right.

[Percy]: There’s something else. But I don’t want to force that. I want it to happen naturally.

[Percy]: I want to be friends, or at least, to be less shitty with one another. And I want to take the first step towards that.

[Percy]: Uh, I know we don’t ehm, have much in common, but how about a coffee after this? Eh, that’s a thing normal friends do I presume. Drink coffee together? My treat.

[Kali]: Even after everything that has happened you STILL want to be friends?

[Percy]: Yes. (You said in an unfaltering and serious tone, probably a bit too serious.)

[Kali]: You are a riot.

Kali accidentally lets out a quick and quiet chuckle that she tries to cover up before it turns up in a louder, hearty, unexpected laugh. Strangely it doesn’t feel as mocking as you would expect.

[Percy]:Screw you! I’m trying here!

[Kali]: I know you are, that’s one of your few good points.

[Percy]:Was that a compliment?

[Kali]: It was a slip of my tongue now, let's talk

For a split second there you felt a bit mesmerized by her laugh, it's rare to see her act like this. Her team seems pleasantly surprised at the sight of their trainer looking so happy.

Her cutesy giggles make her face glow under the faint luminescent light of the vegetation on the cave walls. For a moment you can't help but think...

>Goddamit, she's fucking cute. Too bad her personality is so horrible.
>You want to see her smile more often.
>Nothing, you are completely unphased by her feminine charms.
>You wish Eli was here on her place instead, she would look much better. Goddamit you really like Eli.
>You hope Victoria is seeing this, you know she would like seeing her sister this happy.
>You wish Kali wasn't so cold to her team, strangely enough, they seem to like her

There are a lot of things you don’t like about Kali, the way she belittles and insults you at seemingly every opportunity, how she treats others around her as tools, the way she flicks from coy and deceiving to direct and hurtful in a moment notice. But right now, while her laughter dies down and her smile starts to fade away you can’t help but hope to see that side of her again.

You can’t quite understand it, but you want to see more of that smile, the genuine thing, not the one that she puts all day for everybody else.

Do you wish for her to be happier? Or do you just want her to drop her guard around you? As you try to make sense of your thoughts you are brought back to reality by Prince screams as Kali’s Haunter playfully spooks him. After getting Prince to calm down and telling him to ignore the ghostly Prankster you move towards your business with Kali.

--------

After relying on her all the details, Kali tells you what little she knows. She was aware that they were some sort of biological weapon, and her father was spearheading the research before the project was hastily canceled, years ago a certain “incident” occurred that ended up with the cancellation of the project and with most of the Behemoths going missing afterward.

[Kali]: So, what’s your plan?

[Percy]:My plan?

[Kali]:You know you aren’t the only one who is looking for them. White Veil labs hired some Blackstone grunts to “clean up their mess”. I think you are already familiar with the group, the one your grandfather is leading. And apparently, fucking Maximilliam Blackstone is involved in their hunt and taking into account some photographic evidence I got, that Elite 4 you just knocked out might be involved with them.

[Percy]:Ah shit.

[Kali]: Shit indeed.

[Kali]: And I doubt you have the proper measures to stop and contain the Behemoths, but White Veil and Blackstone do.

[Percy]: So what? Do you expect me to not do anything? To just let them take them and use them for who knows what?

[Percy]: I guess you are worried that White Veil labs get exposed because it’s your family and all that…

[Kali]: Shut up! I don’t give a damn about White Veil. I don’t need them. I’ve been fine without them in my life.

[Kali]: Actually If you somehow manage to shut them down and not get killed in the process, that would be for the better.

[Kali]: But, for the time being, the only thing I need is for Maximillian to fail. So tell me, Percy, what were you planning to do?

You ask the girl why she wants to know so badly, she hesitantly responds that she wants to help you deal with them since you seem to be more versed on the subject.

> “Let’s lay down for a while until I get the documents to Dr. Aspen, she might know how to help us deal with them. I’ll keep you informed, and I expect the same of you”
> “I want to figure out what does the hired Blackstone group led by Maximilliam and my grandfather wants here at Lacrimosa bay. And what their next move is, that might point us in the right direction. “
>Ask her why she wants to do this so bad? You are damn sure it isn’t just goodwill.
> “Sorry Kali, but I don’t need nor want your help”
> “What if we hand them to Blackstone corp directly? Not to Maximiliam, but to the head honcho of the company, Dick could help us with that. That way Maximiliam would fail and Blackstone doesn’t seem to have any nefarious immoral secret agenda going on”
>” I actually have no idea, I’m open to suggestions.”
> “Can’t we just tell your father to cut the crap and stop all this mad-science bullshit?”
> Other/write-in

Thanks, man, the thread is already archived.

Next thread will be up by Sunday the 26 around 5:00 pm MDT

Also, time for a question, with everything that has happened. How does Percy feel about Kali now?

Is she still the worst human ever and the main reason to be distrustful of people? Is she not as bad as Percy thought? Does he want to prove himself to her? Is he trying to get on her good side out of poor convenience or for Victoria? Does he just want another human friend? Or something else?

I think there's a relief of having someone to share with this whole Behemoth issue, besides the doc and our mons I guess.

This is a full-blown conspiracy. They WILL kill us outright if they find out we're involved AND against them. We need documents secured first and foremost.

WE NEED TO FUCKING GET THE BADGE ALREADY TOO DAMNIT
>>
>>3526554
I agree but OPs making it real hard. I want the badge but I also want to go on a date with Eli and get a sixth pokemon, also we had to take care of that arsonist shit.

I'll be honest, don't really trust Blackstone all that much.

As for Kali, probably hopeful that we can get along with her more in the future. I think she showed that there's more to her than just throwing barbs at us and using people to her own ends. We did make a promise to Orizaba to help lighten her up, and god knows we need more human friends.
