"I'm sure that I'm 100-percent human," I replied, lost to this wind's current as I'm a baby bird. And baby-birds, who achieve flight to explore the landscape that their nest served shell, are the dynamic of lost. Steward Wornfrei, the N.R.O., cults, and secret demons are the wind that buffet. Resist too highly or the route of air will rip your feathers. Become complacent, gliding freely to where you're led to, your beak will crumble into a tree's trunk. The Icarus appraisal.

The exiled sentence is written down. The old man goes after again. "Your sister, Morioka Hanami, is under the same suspicion. Argument residing in the recent reports that we base this conference on, we have come to a heavy debate on what to do with her. While our staff isn't fairly certain on the correct approach, we do lean on undergoing an experimental evaluation with her overall.
Now, out of my own properness, Boy: are you agreeable with it? As we know it, the bounds of your sister's 'gate' is virtually endless -- valuable in many, many ways. And we might look into procuring articles of fantasy."

"Mister Steward, I'm aware that the N.R.O. most likely doesn't favor an opinion from my character. But please understand that I care deeply about my... mates, despite the unfortunate circumstance I put them in. An examination implies someone, other than me, would touch her.
I'm in no agreement at all. I do appreciate the consideration to ask, however."

"That's it, I see..."
The old man gets up from his chair, walking towards the door with his hands folded at his back.

"Mister Wornfrei, where are you going?" asked one of the females in the room.

"To the director's lounge. I did what I have to do here. Another director will come to my place soon, so wait.
My expectations are different than the others in power. Just hope that they remain stoic."

Several minutes later, another suited man succeeds the predecessor: younger and charismatic.

ERP warning, Anons.

My questioning stopped right as the previous inquisitor left, sights set on Kitasawa.
Enduring the trial, information is extracted to who the 20-year-old is. A daughter of Kitasawa Harumo, a manager of a prominent company in confections and other food items, and an inheritor of a family fortune -- additionally, land. There has been an effort to search for her daughter, but that has ceased on February 2028, approximately half a year after Beniko's disappearance; presumed to be because of doubt in finding her.

The environment progresses from the elaborate interrogation room and towards a white testing room. Where we are is an underground complex below the N.R.O. branch's tower, used for purposes such as scientific research and artifact containment.

Another member of the organization's personnel is handed the baton. Kita and I are still cuffed, remaining to monitored by Liu while Kitasawa is instructed to approach the middle of the testing chamber. There, her red cloak that's hung up on a clothing display.

Liu replaces himself with a nearby guard, entering the chamber alongside Kitasawa. "Use appropriate measures if the girl decides to make an attempt to escape, agent Xing," said the scientist.

The Chinese bishie nods. "Roger."
Taking the cloak off of its hanger, he then tosses to Kitasawa's feet.

For a good ten minutes, Kitasawa does nothing but stare down at her confiscated raiment. Has it been a week or so since I've taken it from her? Less than a week? Not that it affects this situation. What did happen is my actions over time, and how my she-wolf will fare in returning the justice.

Kitasawa budges herself, crouching down to pick the crimson cloth. She steadily secures it around her nape, then, to her front that shrouds. Washing her, pink rays of light envelops the observed girl.

Out from the transformation, the result differs than what is usually is. Kitasawa isn't suited in battle armor, but in a frilly maroon gown that's more so a wedding dress. The cloak itself hasn't changed, though, it completes the switch in apparel.
Human ears are removed. Presently being possessed is a pair of lupus' own, equal in coloration to the dark-blonde locks that it mounts. From the tailbone, a wagging plume.
Touching on the more monstrous side of things, Kitasawa has incurred an identical growth in teeth and nails.

It took a moment for the spectated subject to realize her metamorphosis. For all to see: the crest on her lower-regions, active to that of a lamp. There wasn't any fuss in her. No worry. But a creeping sensation invades me when she swivels her neck at my perch.

Due to my seemingly unlimited stamina and the unrest of Kitasawa, the N.R.O. branch arranged us a guest room within the tower. The professors took what the camera filmed; additionally, they collected a sample of my fluids upon the crimson bride.

Since then — released from cuff and muzzle — the two of us went ham inside our supplied quarters. It was as if we're in a luxury hotel: a moderately sized bathroom, a huge bed, and a balcony to the far-left that oversaw Honshitsu's metropolitan environment. I couldn't appreciate any of it, as I was distracted in plowing my mate. We were to be not bothered until morning or so, which gave us much of an opportunity to address our lust.

As far as I know, my parents got a call, notified of a 'club sleepover.' The excuse was of Mary's to which I'm untaught in her ploy's effectiveness.

The amber evening has overstayed its welcome, the black, star-filled interval of day exacting its meaning. In the bed, Kitasawa snores under the sheets. Her unconsciousness dispelled her wedding gown, but not the red cloak that started this. I'm at the edge, fanning myself the cool night air from the balcony.
There's a clatter outside. It has slipped me that Liu never left is unsupervised.

Putting my pants on as I walk out the door, Liu questions where I'm going. He hasn't let go of my muzzle yet. "It's a precaution," he said. "We wouldn't want you stealing and breaking items. Worse, seducing a person in power here."

"I'm just want to visit a girl named Makita Kanamou at the medical sect. Is that too much to ask?"

"... Wait a moment."
Using a radio, the bishie phones another agent to guard me and my poetic bride's guest door. The floor we're in is normally for visiting directors or chiefs, so the security is granted at this lodging. With that set, Liu is free to follow me on my travel.

Loosely remembering the map to the medical facility, I finally find Makita within the hospital-esque portion of the branch tower. She's on a bed, watching Baby Bear dance for her. To her side, Mama and Papa who growl at first notice. Liu isn't well with the fact that two sewn abominations are in the building, and demanded to know why they're here in a patience's room. A nurse said that the ursine parents weren't a bother, allowing their stay.
I sensed something other than the three bears, but I couldn't find who or what it was.

"Ah! Mister Wolf!" She doesn't seem drugged by my Honied Tongue anymore. "You've come to visit!"

"Haha... I did..." Pushing aside the pleasantries, I prioritized my apology. "Look, Goldy. I'm sorry for what I've done to you. After a pep-talk from a certain someone, I realized much of my forced actions on you guys were wrong...
Our relationship sorta feels weird, now that I'm here with you. I mean, I feel bad about a lot — if not all — of it. Really so. Mama and Papa's displeasure is warranted, disregarding my own feud."

Makita mulls my apology in her head, her sight dotting a bunch of miscellaneous items in her patient-quarters. "... I can forgive you," she said, reviving joy in my heart, "But I'm advised to stay away. I do not know how long.
My father caught wind of what happened and wants me to resign from being Mary's junior. He's a supervisor here in this branch, and it's expected of him to take safety at first's consideration. That, and I'm his daughter.
My role here won't secede; I've been hearing some talk of putting me in a youth training program, so I'm not totally dismissed from the N.R.O."

> "That's bullshit! I proved that I could cure you; why are they doing that?!"

Honestly, I don't really care what her dad thinks. I'm much more concerned with what Makita herself wants. In my book, her dad is already a failure of a protector since he allows his daughter to do a life-threatening job and is about to put her into a child soldier program, so I don't really value his opinion on what's best for Makita.
>>
>>3483801
he may see it as a way to protect her. inside the agency, shes a valued asset with all its resources to protect her. keep her outside of it, and all they see her as is a liability, a Grimm in the wild to be monitored and put down if it steps out of line.

hes not perfect, but there could be solid logic behind it. regardless, i stand by my point we are in no position to be selfish with her nor question why her dad wouldn't feel its safe for her to be around us, aswell as on your point, he is specifically pulling her OUT of field work and into what could be a much safer program, meaning he very well could be showing signs of seeing his mistake and trying to correct it. no ones perfect and some normal parents with normal kids dont even show that much of an ability to learn and change.

"... Oh. W-Well... That's... That's understandable after what I did. A father is a father after all. I'd be faulty to say that you should go against your parent's wishes.
You and Mary seem close at least, so is this really okay? What are your thoughts on this? Though, nonetheless, I will miss you if your resignation does come to light..."

"I'll have to say..." Makita's delays the delivery, "that I'm alright with it. My father cares for me, and he thinks that you're the worst possible influence to be around. Although I don't hate you, Mister Wolf, I agree with him.
In retrospect, everything that you've done to me was pretty scary. Hehe..." chuckling depressedly. Baby Bear nestles itself between her left leg and her hospital bed's rail, comforting his mistress. "I've told Mary about this when she gave me your medicine. I'm thankful for what you did, and it does say that you're a person who can feel guilt. But to me, going away is the best course of action. At the very least, I need some training. It isn't goodbye forever."

Liu quits to the hall. "I'll be waiting, Subject."

The tension rebuilt on us, Makita goes forth to speak thereafter. "... It was fun, to be honest too. Dressing up and stuff. Reminiscing about the times where I played rough and posed as a succubus, all seems like a T.V. program in my head. Was it really me, I keep questioning myself.
I could still hear your Grimm's voice within me, but it doesn't have its influence. A sound of the past. It's a gentle voice that wouldn't dare to hurt me... That's your voice, Mister Wolf. if you could do me a favor, can you be just like that without the coax?"

> "Yes... I'll sure do, or, try at least. I'm a human still."
> "I won't use my Honied Tongue ever again if that'll reconcile your father."
> "I... I can't promise that. Sorry, Goldy."

That logic isn't solid at all. "Inside the agency" and "on the front lines" are two completely different things. Surely there's some sort of low-level safe job he could give her. What's more, we're "inside the agency" too and we've never felt less safe. The organization is morally bankrupt and is constantly trying to weaponize both us and everyone around us (like Makita and this training program).

Makita's dad, a supervisor here, let his own daughter be sent after the motherfucking Big Bad Wolf and it seems it's only just now occured to him that the wolf might eat her up. I'm not questioning the validity of her dad thinking this isn't safe, but I am questioning the integrity of his concern for her safety to begin with.

thats because we arent actually an official member, and barely if at all played by their rules. of course we arent going to feel safe.

also there are cultists and people like Past Red running around the world. while ill agree putting a kid on the front lines is iffy at best, they did it with supervision, she has super powers they need, and they need almost certainly need Grimm users to properly fight Grimm users. i simply think you're wrong, and also assuming he has full control over this, not just alot of influence.

"Sometimes you need to just say 'sure' and 'yes' without the 'try'. Anyways, I'm happy that you said that. I wouldn't want other people to go through a demonic persuasion."

I and Makita talked for a while, the room's clock ticking in the background as we spoke a small conversation. Papa and Mama Bear discontinues their hostile disposition, however, they keep a protective eye over their Goldilocks more or less.

In the corridor, I overhear Liu talking on his radio and agents running through the tiled path. Soon, the tower's engulfed in the intercom's alarms.
"Intruder alert. Intruder Alert. All enforcers on duty meet at floor three. All enforcers on duty meet at floor three. All assigned guards report to the complex. All assigned guards report to the complex."
The autonomous speech changes to a cognitive human. "Four women dressed as maids have trespassed the tower's third floor! Guards, authorized Grimm-users, and agents, confront the threat! We can't allow any loss at the branch's complex! Halt all elevators, now!-- Gruahk!!!"

The mic is passed onto someone else. "Yahooo~! Sister Wukong is here! Please don't mind what this grumpy man has said. Give us The Wolf and that's all we'll need to leave~!"

"What about Kitasawa?! I'm not abandoning her to be used as a hostage. They already know that I'm here, and might know who to go after to use against us! Mary might be in danger too!"

Liu, with Makita in his arms, me, and the bears stop at a windowed junction. The bishie looks both ways while pondering over my conveyed worry. "We'll run into trouble if we go for your girl! It's better if I stop at the complex first to drop you off, then get her!
Mary can handle herself! Especially with the enhanced power you've given her!"

I stand my ground by Liu's disagreement. "No. We get Kitasawa now!"

Snarling at each other, we all hear a crash within the lower floors. We're high up, and the destructive sound was muffled, but the strength behind it is nothing to scoff at. "Grr... Fine, idiot!"

Liu kicks me to forwards so that we can resume our run. Upon reaching the guest room where Kitasawa is, I scoop her out of the bed and dash out into the hall again. The wolfish bride wakes up at the violence, her ears and tail tensing up. Swiftly, I keep her quiet under this emergency, wrapping her in the cloak that she dons.

Waves of agents pass by in fours. "One just left at the security office level seven! Another split off! GO, GO, GO!" Information is received and shared from person to person as the rush puppeteers their legs.

Our group aims for the nearest elevator, but to our disappointment, the apparatus is powered off. We're to take the stairs by which Liu didn't take the time to complain.

Three-fourths down the branch tower's staircase, another crash goes on up above at the surface. I remind ourselves of what we ought to do, restarting our march as gunfire clash with alien combat.

The arrival of the complex wasn't as silent as we have hoped for. The chaos here is slightly less hellish as the floors from whence we came, professors scrambling with armed guards escorting them to bunkers. Other security staff battle out their enemy that has already made her entrance ahead of time.

What's heinous is a 1.6-meter high maid. Her hair is a brownish-tangerine, cut straight half-way at her back and capped by a brimless cap. In martial motions, she swings a nine-toothed rake: its teeth are sharpened jades, chiming rings dangling at the base of the farm tool's head. She can't take on a crowd of shielded men with fires-arms lone, dancing around rather than attacking the volley of lead.

"They said that this would be easy! Damn liars!" the woman yelled, scooping up a globule of cement from the floor and flinging it at the modern phalanx.

"Well, this is the time to. Those rows of armored guards are doing good, yes, but it won't be long until that maid finds a way to break through their ranks. I just know that it'll happen — it's in my gut!"

Mumbling, Liu sprints into the fray with burning heels, He thinks I'm crazy, and I think that he is as well. Acting as a one-use backup, I huff and puff at the rake-wielding breacher.

The noise of my traveled explosion roars towards its target. There's no way that she can dodge, for her foot looks for a plane to recompose her stance. "Buhi?!" she oinked, swinging her tool's teeth at the punching whirlwind.

Impacted, she flies off into the reaches of the complex. Liu chases after her, jumping on warehouses at five stallions' speed. Darting to the right, I jog through the giant facility's east-side face.

>>
>>3484883
Oh that was something Mary told us. Now I wonder what he's doing with the journey to the West theme.
>>
>>3484859
i disagree. the elder gods ARE just gods, and actually dont have anything other mythologies dont have. the difference is, usually other mythologies humanize said gods and traits, the Lovecraft mythos does not, however their actual abilities and powers are not wholly unique in their level of potential destruction or effects.

for instance, plenty of other mythologies also have god you cannot look upon for a variety of reasons, but none less powerful than why the eldritch often cannot be looked upon.

i mean, you're right in sense, that usually Lovecraft has a higher level of power even at its 'lowest' points, but there is still plenty of things in other mythologies that could kick their asses wholly, and Sun Wukong is one of those bastards. dudes 5x immortal, and i might be undershooting that number too. he jumped to the edge of existence in one jump then pissed on one of the pillars holding up existence then jumped back again. literally the only thing that could stop him was a being that was literally limitless and beyond the idea of beyond gods in that mythos. many of the elder gods and old ones have nothing on some of the stupid shit that sun wukong sometimes pulls off, especially with the fact the Buddha is existence itself and going by his mythology he could flick the old ones and elder gods away like they were annoying flies if he so chose to, and he is what it took to stop him.

really though, mixing mythologies always causes this, theres almost always someone in some mythology that is so stupidly ridiculous even for his own mythology putting him into another just doesn't work. what we really need to understand is two things; the actual limits of each mythology in conjunction with them all being real together, and the limits to just how much a Grimm can hold the traits of the myth.

im not even a fan of eastern mythology honestly, but it has its moments. dont underestimate the competition out there just because most mythologies arent as dark are lovecrafts work, though i do love said work.

As I trudge through the shaded corners and tails of houses, I finally find shelter within this elaborate, oversized storage unit.
Forcing a door open, I enter inside a structure filled with boxes, Kitasawa, Makita, and the bears hauled along. Cardboards of labeled items and materials are stacked ontop of one another here in the dark. Some of the names I can't speak, chock-full of syllables that are endless in my techniques of communication and in paper.
Their only function is to be a barricade, a sum shifted to the passageway.

The blondes duck under a window. I find a place to avoid the glass' scope. Someone from the other side runs and stops right at where it's most inconvenient, his or her shadow intruding from the origins of the window seal. "We can't be any less coordinated," murmured the silhouette. " 'Just barge in and beat them, it'll be easy' Wukong told. 'If that's it, then let's go!' Bajie declared. And she's wondering why this is a challenge... I had to leave Bai on her lonesome and Tie Shan's with master Midas. Looks like we'll have to resort to obtaining the seminal fluid instead..."

id love to not be a coward and fight, but the main objective here is for us not to fall into the wrong hands, so avoiding the enemy as much as possible is the best way to do that.
>>
>>3484965
> Stay down and stay quiet.
In theory, we could capture her, but she could also end up calling for help and then we're probably fucked. Hopefully Liu is the agent he's supposed to be as our second monitor and is able to capture Bajie.

It's a damn good thing we took Kitasawa. They'd definitely kidnap her if that's what they need.

Kitasawa transfigures her nude body, clothed in the crimson wedding dress from thirty minutes ago. She grabs a pair of pistols from under the frilly skirt, ready for war.

A holler seeks one of the four intruders: the second one that I've encountered thus far, and telling from what she cries, Liu is winning. "Tap out, Wujing! Tap out! He's too fast for me!"

"Huh?! Uh. O-Okay?!
Stance of Stagnant Sand: Bounds of the Slow River!"

"Chtnng!"

"Weird," the unsighted Liu said. "How about a game of endurance?"

"I'm all game, Cute Mister. Just know that if you give us what we want, we'll leave the premises immediately."

"It's too late for that, you know? Hraah!"
The slicing of air and the clanging of metal makes the duel's audience in the surroundings.

"Wujing! I smell something salty here!" mentioned the rake-wielder's voice.

I was under the assumption that it would at the very least persuade them to stand still for a few moments, which with Kitasawa is enough to blow someone's head off.

I puff at the wall, telling Makita to sick Mama and Papa Bear thereafter. The rake-wielder instantly engages on one of the two bears, the second going for Liu's opponent: another woman dressed in a maid's outfit, however, delicate and wispy like a tree's branch. Hair — flushed into hazelnut — covers the left eye, the long-most tail braided over her shoulder. Akin to her comrade, a cap; but, abandoning the uniform pattern of black and white of all outfits of her kind, this specimen's own is of teel and white. An apricot dye that replaces the teel for the shorter, just as dainty rake-wielding maid whose hind and hams makes the skirt accentuate their contours in turn. But with the way she's jumping about, she might as well not have the waist coat.

My command unfaltered, I speak out: "Red, provide covering fire!" The warring bride sets forth a hail of metal from her pistols, then a semi-automatic after their ammunition has been expended. Wujing's stance is of defense, pelting away Kitasawa's bullets with her staff's rectangular spade and pushing away Liu with its crescent end.

"Isn't that him?!" Bajie mentioned to her partner. Though, she couldn't utter a second sentence as Mama forces her in a deadlock, the grizzly-doll's jaws fighting forwards the arm of the rake while the arm of the rake does the same in question.

Bajie's already been hit by the puff, so she'll be ready for it. Let's put an end to Wujing while we have the element of surprise and then focus everything on Bajie.
>>
>>3486118
On second thought, changing >>3486155 to
> Enter the fray and lunge towards Bajie
Wujing's got plenty of trouble as it is, and Bajie has to go easy on us since capturing us is her goal. With any luck, we can get both of them taken down here since they're outnumbered 5 to 2.
>>
>>3486158
hey now, dont put us close to them, otherwise they might just nab us and run. for all we know they have their own magical suppression collar or something.
>>
>>3486164
The puff isn't likely to work on Bajie since we've hit her with it before. As for a magic suppression collar, based on the "plan" that Wujing described without knowing we were nearby, they have nothing of the sort.
>>
>>3486179
its a magical super air blast. sure they can dodge it but you cant really prepare for it any more than you can any other ranged attack.

plus we are still the target. putting us closer to them is only helping them out in kidnapping us.
>>
>>3486184
Also, it'd be beneficial to wind her out than let her take a breather, or she could blow us out of the water with her grimm.
>>
>>3486118
> Puff at Bajie.
Keep her occupied.
>>
>>3486184
Yes, but it's a magical super air blast that takes time to prepare because we need to breathe in first. And being prepared to dodge is being prepared for it since it renders the attack ineffective.

>>3486201
I can't really tell which one of us you're trying to argue against, but both of us are suggesting that we attack Bajie and therefore not let her "take a breather."

Breathing in for several seconds, I puff at Bajie. Sensing the danger, she breaks her lock with Mama Bear to adjust her position a few steps. Raising her rake high, she stabs its teeth into the ground so it can anchor her against the high-speed storm.

With the greater force, my colliding vortex uproots the head of the rake and throws Bajie back into the distance. Soon after, the gunfire of the N.R.O.'s pursuing men.

"Intruder 2 on tower level three has retreated! Intruder 3 is currently making her way down from the security office to the complex!" reported Liu's radio.

"Dammit..." Wujing said. "Just when Bajie flung off."

Every one of us is focused on Wujing. In spite of that fact, she keeps up her stance, sweating at the discrepancy in her current party. Liu is a mosquito to her, never letting up in his objective to apprehend. To this, we know that her "Stagnant Sand Technique" has been used against her, as dropping it will sale herself as an open duck.

There's no incentive to go after me for this single enemy. I am free to operate. Doing as I do, I charge my third bark, Wujing receiving the product of my internal cannon. No matter how unbreakable her stance is, the heavy expanse of aimed air is mightier. It punches the battle maid into a laboratory wall, unlucky, as anywhere afar or in the air is better than being stuck between a solid panel and a squad of defenders.

Liu pokes her cheek with a finger. "She hit the wall too hard," he diagnosed. "Got knocked-out. Maybe in a coma?"

The ceiling caves in, dirt and rock piling upon our collective square as an object protrudes inward from the Earth's crust. The men that were prepared for a frontal assault evacuate their spots to reposition themselves. Amongst those who vacate the initial landing of the complex, Liu and the two blondes, for I demanded that they run as well. Foolishly, I gave up myself to be the last person to flee from the enlarging shadow of a giant pole, its bottom roof stacked on top of my head.

Knees bent and my arms enduring the weight of this humongous stick, I hold it up with all the strength that I can gather into my palms. God's clemency is given for this moment, as the stress that I own is lifted. The giant object shrunk, retracting from the hole that it made as it progressively became smaller.

I couldn't help but relax from such a random strike. I could've been squashed, Kitasawa and Makita too if we didn't notice it as fast.

That mountainous artifact was just a precursor. Jumping down from the crude entrance is Intruder 3, a maiden of checkered China red that mirrors her sisters' wardrobe. Voluminous hair of rich soil billows like a flag, the ties at their end generating minor pounds as they smack the secret country by her foot. Aligning themselves, heated eyes of magma.

"Sorry that I'm late to the party. A duplicating woman and an archer caught me off guard." Hitting her staff on the ground, she leans upon it to scan the area. "Where's Bajie? Wujing? Man, they can't do anything without their big sister~ Don't you agree, Boy? You impressed with your strength, so I'll allow some friendly discussion." A pair of fangs makes her more animated when grinning. Under other circumstances, I would call it a cool trait.

"The name's Tairou. It'd be rude to not introduce ourselves, wouldn't it? Being called Intruder lacks respect if I'm in your situation, and I'll be a hypocrite if I didn't. So please, I implore for your address."

"You have a way with words right off the bat~ I like that a lot. Likewise, Tairou; I'm Wukong. I suspect that you're who I'm looking for, so wouldn't it be a greener choice to walk away from here as pals then preserving this conflict? Show a sliver of civility and I'll look out for you when we have returned to my boss. Plus, frankly, I don't want to ruin this beautiful skyscraper even more. A disciple of respect myself, demolishing whatever fine treasures or the structure's art is an infringement on my own standards.
Although, having a duel is fine too if we want to throw this mushy talk out of the window~"

"You had an eventful night. Certainly. I would love a good..." Talking inwardly I back away as I get energy rolling inside my mouth. Wukong perceived what my visible movement entailed, picking up her staff. When her weapon has translated upwards by a millimeter, I fire away. "Red, explosives!" I exclaimed, my bride— no, wife— tossing grenades from her indispensable armory.

Wukong re-enlarges her staff. Not to a gigantic size, but to a pillar whose girth is enough to provide cover. Successfully stable in its mass, whereas Bajie and Wujing failed to repel, my roar scatters at its rock-like wood. But unshielded at the side, Kitasawa's grenades blows the Monkey Queen abroad. Once recovered with hardly a scratch, she wipes the dirt off from her forehead.

"Cheeky. That's how you want, then I'll come and get ya!" Her smirk has evolved into an impish smile. Rebounding from where she is, Wukong touches her staff for it to reduce into practicality, jumping at me. The guards afar start their fire, and seeing that they'll be a nuisance, she changes targets halfway.

Some might say that I was blessed to be the second priority at that frame. Avoiding me for now, the deranged, authentically-styled maid somersaults over my personage to smash the congregate of men. A couple sprung from her hammering staff, but those that were smashed into bleeding bodies outweigh the survivors.
"These soldiers are bees. Dumb and deindividualized. With some self-worth, they'd be living instead of shooting at me.
While I have a problem with that red bride, hurling explosives at me all willy-nilly, my reason for being here is for you or your semen. Get serious, would you, and take me on as a man. That girly archer had more balls than you."

Properly this time, Wukong goes for my capture.

I know we told Makita we'd cut back on the honied tongue, but I'm not sure how else to get out of this. I somehow doubt we'll manage to beat Wukong in a straight fight, If we take too long, the other maids are bound to show up. Hopefully she's like Red and her power is tied to her weapon, so she'll be vulnerable if disarmed.

On a different note, I'm curious about the names these girls have. Each is the same as the Grimm they use, which is unusual. Are they their own Grimm-users, or are they perhaps Grimms themselves?

After all this madness I want to take off Kitasawa's hood and ask her if she loves us or has it all been the work of our grimm?

"Taking you on as a man is a tall order, but simply taking you can be arranged," I cracked, running for the hills. Wukong gets onto the chase, hurtling herself with the magic staff to gain momentum. Do not look behind yourself while running, the number one rule in a race. Gyrating the head will loosen your speed, and if your competitor is at the gate, perchance, it will also discourage the course. In its demerit, I won't be aware of the demon maid's space from myself. Terror is scarier than horror, people quote.

A minute in, the Monkey Queen gets smart. She begins to heave her staff at a size that'll injure me; an improvised javelin that leaves indentions wherever they hit. Adrenaline controls my motor functions, jerking me from the projectile instinctually.

"It seems that without a pack, wolves are cowards; shown by you, Tairou. You do make yourself a frustrating rabbit, but I'll eventually catch up."
Repeating what she has done many times, picking up her weaponized pillar from where it felled and adjusting the guessed trajectory, the procedure is interrupted by a new member of this lethal game of tag.

Wukong spins herself to take a gander of the being: a bear. While it remained to be of woven rags and cotton threads, its definition in power is apparent for all to see. Beneath the uncanny mix of a doll and living organism, biological tissue of any real grizzly. If I have anything to compare it to, it'd be at the size of Ira-H. "Baby!" said Makita, who rides the kaiju, "Get her! Baby Bear: Ursa Major!"

"Crud...!!!" The Monkey is distracted, battling against the ursine monster. As I keep going west of the complex's body, I see that Baby Bear's latter-self is ripped, exhibiting a fountain of stars: meaning, the guy's transformation handicaps him with two legs, though, that isn't stopping the fucker. Mama and Papa join their son, juggling Wukong.

I hear an explosion ahead of me. Bajie has returned less flashily than her sister-in-arms, Liu and Kitasawa busying her.

I think Anons have started to refrained from seducing anymore girls after we faced a few consequences from Makita, Mary, and Red.
>>3487770
Kitasawa and Mary seem like the only two that would tolerate that, but Kitasawa is borderline brainwashed and I don't have the same affection for Mary ever since she made clear her job is her first priority.
>>3487779
Then it seems the only two options are to reject or embrace the nature of demigod of fertility.

Fuck me we're a bad person.

On an unrelated note, when someone mentioned Wukong's flaw being impulsiveness it occurred to me that the Big Bad Wolf's flaw is that he's just not predatory, lustful(in our case), and greedy, but that despite his tricks he never thinks through. Three little pigs? Tried to take the chimmeny without a second thought. The seven kids? Took a nap after eating them and forgot about the mama goat. Little red riding hood? Uh. . . Huntsmen. The wolf and the fox? Make a fucking rucus eating the chickens, got too full to move, and got shot.
Basically, the Big Bad Wolf don't think things through, and neither does Tairou.

With the toilsome monkey off my back, I go hunting for pigs. My foot stomps in place, ready to pivot into escape whenever my chase is reformed. Jaw opened, I blast the piglet into oblivion; never learning, she twirls herself to disclose the rumbling that zips after her, nonetheless getting hit.

From the front of the complex, reinforcements that Liu had called for in the meantime. The replacement soldiers split off to resecure Wujing and to incapacitate Wukong. Bajie is left to Kitasawa, the bishi, and me, for whatever she poses.

Little did we know, reinforcements on the enemy's side comes to their addition. My bride and I listen to Liu's radio while his foot pins the precious, juicy piglet down. "Intruder 2 had re-entered the scene along with a new partner. Following after that, a man! He seems to be their boss!"

I pick up Bajie to hasten our retreat. Her rake is deceptively heavy, pressing the right-side base of my neck as it slopes from the forearm's socket inland. Held like a barrel, the maid that we accomplished to defeat has a rough sleep because of my frequent jostling. But there's no room for comfort in this situation. She'll comprehend that.

"Red," I said.

"Yes, Master~? Is there anything that you want?" "Do you truly love me? almost left my gums — that quest is for another moment where we aren't facing death.

"Cut off our escape route with explosives. Can you do that?"

"Aye-aye!"

Our trail fixed with detonations when accidentally stepped on, the three of us travel to the complex's front.

"We got another challenger at a way onwards!" notified Liu.

The fourth roadblock has made its reveal. Raising her fists, another one of these aggressive maids charge. Liu meets her, the cerulean locks of the girl flowing forward until the collision with the bishi halts their inertia, pulled down vigorously by physics alone.

Liu steps a pace backward, tuning his suit's sleeves. "You don't know how much of a pest you are. Really."

The cerulean-themed maid doesn't talk.

"At least you're a quiet one."

"Stance of Silent Rain: Unvanished Water"
The air becomes dryer, balls of water clumping together. By the cerulean girl's figure, the liquid shapes into a sword, blade pointed forth at my feet.

"Red, guns up!" Grabbing lungs, I blow at the falling sword. Two or three seconds longer would've been the end for me; though, Bajie could've lent me a hand as a human shield if this quiet controller has some sense of humanity.

The water that makes up the armament splashed into numerous directions. Maid Number 4 reimposes her authority over the accumulated liquid, levitating and sustaining the atmosphere's emissions to resupply her combative stratagem. Kitasawa, with a gun anew, gives the rain-manipulator her own torrent.

Pulling in the still droplets, she forms a high enough wall to defend against the flashing bullets. Liu goes in, intruding on the barrier's unaccounted flanks to keep the cerulean maid busy.

I have Kitasawa ready heavy fire for when the wall comes down, and that is now. My teeth tingle at the inspiration, the tongue ducking down to the floor of my mouth to clear itself from my beam's roadway. Sore, my throat burns. A bloody taste seeps and permeates my belly and buds of flavor.

Assembled ether shoots at the cerulean maid's wall, which disperses it in a manner of the previous sword's deconstruction. The procession carried out, and a bulky gun on a stand whose nose is dictated by Kitasawa, I didn't need to retell her queue. While the rattling of shells clattered, I move to the side. Throwing up, I look at the familiar sight of black goo and stones. A dribble of blood is licked from my lips.

The cerulean maid absconded when I wasn't looking. Liu follows, and so did we. Utilizing the undiminished water that floats at our hair's strand, she obstructs our shadow with formed darts and greater barriers.

A trail of detonations goes up on our end: Kitasawa's explosives that we had set up. Wukong has fled from Baby Bear and has slipped through his squad to finish me up. "This night is getting too long! I have a bed to get to, Bajie does, the rest of my sisters, and you, Tairou!"

The machine gun has long been abandoned at this point. As swift as she could, my wolfish bride gunned the Monkey Queen down. At a better skill in agility, Wukong catapults herself up to escape the line of Red Riding Hood's fire. As she declined in elevation, she brandished her polearm at my cranium's stern to cast stars in my eyes. Feeling smart, I hold up Bajie to discourage the intention.

The effect of Baby Bear's family is evident by her undone hair ties and scratched skin. Despite how mad she looks, Wukong is soaking in the battlefield's joy.

"You wouldn't hurt any of your associates, would you?" I said. Her staff is rearing to bat the tangerine maid.

"I could. Bajie can handle the abuse... Oh, about time, Boss."

A man of white cashmere and silver responds to Wukong. That... Who? Miles?... Right!— Midas. "If we were staying up this late then I would've planned for a nice dinner. Hm? Hey~ I recognize you. You're that helpful young man from last week. Could you be...?"

"Yeah. It's a cruel coincidence, Mister."

"It is indeed." Who I suppose is the last maid of his bunch holds a fan at the hip. A hime-cut; and, one who abides by a traditional outlook on an old-timey western, female servant. The legs concealed by below the ankle and all.

Kitasawa points her gun at Midas. The fifth servant of his raises her fan.

Away from this clown party is a blinking light. Wukong squints her eyes to the complex's south-side. A meteor striking, dust smokes our area and the cause is an arrow.

Within this concrete cloud, I punch Wukong's nose and run. Kitasawa sprays her gun's leftovers to ditch its burden, throwing it at the monkey too for good measure. After three seconds, another sharp arc of light smites the area of Midas' standing. A cataclysmic sequence upon a triple-digit interval. Zip, boom, and an explosion. Zip, boom and a third explosion. So on, so forth; till the ninth term suspends the last of the pattern.

Out from treacherous proximity, a quick camp is made where Wukong began this train-wreck. Kita — in her knightly armor of archery — flumped at the elevators. She's battered, her metal crushed and dented by the sites of brutal bluntness.

Reception is made by Liu's radio. "We're getting back-up again. A bigger one this time. They were fixing the elevator system and the ones before then were a supplementary division that took too long at the stairs."

"Fortunate news after a long time. Too long in fact," I remarked.

"And bad news for us." It wasn't long for Midas to appoint himself at the facility's main entrance. Wujing is still missing and hopefully is still arrested. Bajie hasn't wakened up yet despite the rowdiness we have gone through. And the Monkey Queen seems chipped of her energy, although the extent of what she contains is unknown to me.

"You know, for a rich guy like you, I don't see why you would need me."

"Not you as a person, but your body," the tycoon said. I didn't notice it at first, but he possesses a large encyclopedia with him. Must be draining to lug that around. Midas figures out my gaze. "It's a neat book... What's his name, Wukong?"

"Tairou."

"Tairou! Yes. Moving on, this volume right here is a curious thing. In the past, I went to Romania for vacation when I happened upon a unique market by a river. A small place for fishermen and farmers. Gypsies and the like too, in addition to lively brothels. A very, very nice place — would definitely go there again when I have the time. The people there were something to be investigative about as well, so I conversed.
Grimms. That's what it's usually referred to as in the largest parties' circle: the biggest groups who are aware of its existence.
Down a street that I shouldn't have gone through at all, where rats scurried like it was a normal occurrence, there was this mysterious shop that was tucked between one other building at a block's corner and another to its right. In there, an old lady. A nice hag, if you'd will. She rambled and rambled about where I wasn't supposed to be and threatened me with 'magic.' Expectedly, I didn't believe it until she showed what she was capable of... Or, more so, a preview of what she hides.
Her shop breathed. The wood planks flared up and down, and a draft when out of the windows, not in. Seeing my surprise, the hag dislodged the floorboard to show me red tissue. A smooth piece of flesh with its veins apparent. Like a picture of bones, a root-like design layered underneath it and it simply chilled me to the core! Haha!... ..." Midas coughs and collects himself. "... With some reasoning, she sold me this book for cheap which started my journey. The next exposure, the stories of Fairyland within Germany and Italy.
Just think of what lies beyond there. What resources, what animals, and what civilizations?— What dreams! It rouses my warrior spirit! I must be boring you with this talk, so if you prefer, we can go on with this~ Wukong here is getting a tad too jittery."

"What's that book for, anyway?"

"Maybe because I like to read when time's just passing. My father was an author. He wasn't famous, but I loved him nonetheless. And being his son, I'd check out his stories whenever he needed a second view: a perspective of a child... His books were good. At the very least, to me; however, that may just be because I'm his son. Reading his works was a present each time I delve into his manuscripts. Imaginative, poetic, and able to catch the aspect of old. Like The Odyssey or The Little Mermaid.
I grieve for today's world. Grey with smoke and iron, the very business that I helped construct. It was the worst decision to fall for oil and steel. Perhaps, I could've prolonged the legacy of my dad and became an author myself. But... I wouldn't have his creativity." Midas takes out an eraser and beckons Wukong to look at him. Flipping to a page, he hovers the school-utility over a line, the Monkey Queen's expression stiffening. "This book belonged to the hag's granddaughter. The poor girl died frail, weak, and young before any medicine could've been retrieved, and the lady spoke nothing of her parents. This is her Grimm, the proof that she lived: The Book of Alice.
Since I'm just a man with lots of money, I can hardly comprehend its use. The hag gave no instructions. But I got it working in the end, creating my five maids whose behavior could be more proper."

"It's hard to be calm with the fact that you can take away this power from us," Wukong commented.

"What stops you from killing me then? Couldn't you have done just that and take the book for yourselves~?" Midas teased. "Couldn't you, Sherry?"

"Yes, we could. But without your money, Fairland wouldn't be possible for us five."

"It's our debt," the hime-cut maid, uttered. "Orphanage girls don't have much of a choice. And it's not like he violates us."

"Who's the elder sister here, Tie Shan? I'm talking. You guys make the sunniest of days a storm," the gracious-mane monkey told.

"You are. But you're stupid."

Midas waves his free hand. "Settle down. You can fight at another time."

"I'm getting the impression that everyone who wants to go to Fairyland does so because there are no stories left to tell here." I disrupt the sisters' quarrel, wanting more of Midas' enlightenment.

"That surmise isn't too far off. With the exception of a few lands on Earth, everything has been explored. We saw the past. We invent the present. And make plans for the future. All at the cost of ancient mystery. Wukong, Bajie, Wujing, Bai Longma, Tie Shan. Although unoriginal, these names are full of forgotten magic which is delegated to my five partners in this project.
There's this certain orphanage home that I grew up with. Magdalene's House, it was named on my childhood street. There, the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on, Helen. She and I were friends, from when we met at six and continued on even now at ages 32 and 31. Bright and sunny, smart, gracious; qualities that one wouldn't see in a parentless lass... To her, I made a promise. I will tell her the best stories in this world— a correction; the best epic from the lands of this Fairyland. And not just to her, but those soulless youngsters who the nuns pray and care for with all their hearts.
I am a selfish man. An American with a great taste for liquified palm trees and the skeletons of skyscrapers. Selfishly, I'll bestow myself the title of Prometheus. I'll be the fool who'll venture into uncharted territory, and like hell that I'll let bigs-wigs take advantage of what resources there are in that place; even though I have spoken intimacy of it. I'll quit my business for all its worth just for that.
Tairou, your wolf's hide is — for example — the pages of a book. The Serpent is the ink to write the words. The Coyote is the one who'll recite the spell.
Paper, ink, and caster. Paper, ink, and caster." Midas sighs. "Look at me, getting myself all impatient... Impatient I am and that I will not right. A second raid for you will be impossible, for it'll give time for preparation. Overexertion will be. Finish this, girls!"

Tairou's Grimm:
Strength and heightened senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste. And, bigger lung capacity which enables huff 'n puff.
Honied Tongue: Effective, and borderline mind control, persuasion. Causes addiction to your speech: like Makita's experience, for example.
Mealtime: Kissing a subject will bestow a Grimm or bestow enhancement. Side-effects include extreme arousal that doesn't subside until intercourse and easy provocation of arousal.

Is it still a stupid idea to strap a suicide vest to ourselves and give the detenator to Liu? I doubt this guy would ruin his chances to ruin his dreams and Liu would kiss us in a hearbeat, so that should get Midas to back off. . .

I wonder what prompted Kita's change of heart? Given how much she hates us, I thought that she'd try to help Midas skin us alive.

Iron gales are fanned by Tie Shan. Equal to my own meteorological outburst, but its overuse makes me suffer a pained respiratory tract. Alongside its tide, I am flown from foot-place by foot-place while Wukong fights dog against me in the air.

Liu would've been of assistance, however, the cerulean maid thought it'd be a great time to show up. Occupied in their own competition of fire and water, the tools to my discretion is risking another hurtful roar, the sleeping tangerine in my keep, and Kitasawa who can only hope that the faith in her trigger-primed rifles hit.

Huge motions are numbed, feeling like tiny shifts within my muscles. I can't hold out much for long, as the last of my energy will go red; and dying of exhaustion isn't going to be inscribed on the obituary of Morioka Tairou.

"Slam!" The impetus of Goldilocks causes our field to rumble. The ursine trio and their coordinator rejoins us, turning the attention of Midas' servants to them. Having myself a break, I assess our development, Kitasawa pouncing back to my command.

I have Red position herself far away, so she can line up a rifle shot on Midas. Listening to my suggestion, she leaves me a revolver that is trusted to be easy to use and takes herself into the thick of many crumbled structures. Our confronting character's eyes are played around, for the plan guides me to sustain distractive action. The chromaticity of my mate's gown singles her out in the monochrome rubble, only disappearing when my vision reflexively jumps to a thunderous strike from my allies or foes.

Picking up a pebble, I chuck it at Tie Shan. My tired nature of the body dispenses long wind-ups and pauses alone. The insignificant piece of earth taps the crown of her hime-cut, pulling her from providing constant tempest for Wukong. Annoyance manifests on her expressionless front, and in return, I empty the revolver's shells. My move was foreseen, the path of my fire wavered by a minor sway of her fan. Then, a long rise to signal a major swipe.

I kick Kita to somewhere safer while the traditional display of femininity whips a wave towards my person. The legs lagged at this reckless push for lasting combat. Squarely, I fly, rocketing up and into the brittle roof of another lap.

The unlit dark of my acquired destination is a welcome change in temperature. Colder than the May night, but I'm not complaining. It's one of the few things that I recognized as helpful in this hellish underground... I could sleep if I wanted to...

I let my neck laze on the pointy rocks that I had rammed downwards upon. When everything isn't felt, a stone can be as soft as a beach's sand. Of course, that happening in real-life is a concern among the doctors of the medical world, and I would have to get myself checked if the sensation doesn't turn back to normal.

I'm high. The quantitative length that I ran throughout this battle has deprived my cells of oxygen. I was using up more muscular crystals than the good-old air of the Earth, and it fucking sucks. Though tolerating anymore is a worry not forwards in my life... Will I even get back up if I sleep...?

Bajie's body-heat is a sufficient blanket. I push aside the rake that I've been carrying around to forgive my hard-working arms. "Polka-dot..." I hailed meekly when I spend the final fraction of my consciousness to peek under her skirt. Right after, drowsiness.

I am transported to Midrey; at where forces that are not of human-friendliness sets me every time I revisit the misty glen. Is this the causation of powers that religion lectures of? Not a decent god with a shrivel of humanity would put me here when he, she, it knows of the trouble it makes for whom. "A program? Or something of related functions. I'm not into these theories, but this must be the work of a universe's computer!" I said, sounding like a madman. Indeed, I do act like one.

Weaving through tall trees — their trunks' upper-half vanishing in the surfaces' cloud — I find myself the stream I had met last time when I was here. Deneira is nowhere to be seen as well, I must mention, but a compiled display of fresh fruits and flowers at the base of the oak where she was chained to makes up for my astonishment.

"It seems that it's a special eighth," notified a frail elder. "Not many come here to pay respects to the unfortunate. Tairinius' Forest is a landmark of doom which isn't attractive to Wilkshire residents, and this is here a dark elf."

The sage is draped in a monotonous brown robe. Movement is stunted by old age; in need of a walking stick to which he does have on him. Not a hair is left on his head, having migrated to his chin.

"Grandpapa, what do you mean?" As his company, a girl in a brighter wardrobe. Way richer than who she names Grandpapa.

"Jericho, people hate other people. Your brother is participating in that combination's product. The Sorceress of Robins, although an enemy, has been a great scholar in magic to the world. Perishing to natural causes, or a beast is a tragedy. Don't you think so... Mister Wolf? Tairou." The old man grinned, scratching his bald head. "It's been a long time."

> "Still haven't found my uncle. But I may have an idea now after so much."

"Deneira didn't die. She just somewhere else. Not here. Appearing old and wise, I'll rely on you to solve the brain's tease while we go on with nostalgia. A nostalgia that you'll most receive rather than me since what I perceive is different than your people," I said.
I fumble to the dirt and dust by Deneira's totem of remembrance. Shed leaves crumple and crunch as my limbs make my seat as modern as the ground can be. "I heard that you had a fun youth. I wish I could be just as adventurous. Not an opportunity to tour from this forest has risen yet. You, Alexander, has seen what your home can enthrall."

"You're the same as I remember you from the first, and last time, we've talked together. I don't recall discovering you twice before here. Did the level of your intelligence grow after these countless years? Does Midrey's history flow into your stored knowledge, and that it's the same for any other dead? Hardly, you fantastic soul. Hardly." Alexander conducts the girl that grips his robe. She goes in front of him, staring at me with naivety. "This is my granddaughter, Jericho. Little miss, pay Tairou your respects."

Jericho gives a curtsy. The finesse of a child isn't gracious but invokes the parent in me. "I am Jericho Ilidarus Sontainus Comme. Pleased to meet you, Sir Tairou."

"A mouth-full of words. Where did she get that from?" I asked.

"Noble-life. Establishing my house in the upper echelons of Midrey has thinned much of my commoner blood in my descendants. It's a great performance, nonetheless. Jericho, you may relax now."

The little girl reassumes her spot by her grandfather's staff, neck-length locks of scarlet strawberries swinging.

"Have you 'found your uncle'?" Alexander then said.

"Still haven't. But I may have an idea after so much. There are recent leads that are uncertain in my deductions, Alexander."

"I do not know if you're playing dumb, or that tone of yours makes me conceive of so. I have something that might put you to rest."

There a necklace around the old man. Silver or chrome, whichever shiny texture. It dangles as he unbridles himself of it, pushing a lock at the button that acts like a pocket-watch. "Jericho, close your eyes. You can listen, but do not see. It that clear?"

"Yes, Grandpapa." The little girl of strawberry hair puts a cap on her eyes, using her hands. Alexander checks if she's parting her fingers, laughing between one another. Sure that his granddaughter is obedient, his present the curio.

"Yahlfk'ta. An odd being to say the least. He was his own castle and his own man simultaneously. From the depths of your woods was a short-sword: a rusty piece of metal that I took a liking too. Its real worth was achieved when I spruced it up at the local blacksmith, and at that time too, I was preparing to go into the army. Yahlfk'ta looked like a normal person when disregarding that he is his own house. I slew so many tentacles that I can't stand squid or octopus, but that's beside the subject. This is the treasure from his bosom; placed into this locket for this exact moment. For, the otherworldy god contributed context."

Within the circle-shaped geometry of the necklace's end, it unlatches itself to show what's inside. A still beating heart. A small, purple organ at pulsates.

"This shouldst belong to you. An elderly in possession of this isn't beneficial for his reputation."

"Is it really okay? The case and chain alone look damn near expensive."

"And I'm valued as one of the kingdom's great treasures. I can buy a new necklace whenever I feel like it. This is my gift to you, Tairou."

I capitulate my adamancy and pluck the strange item from Alexander's twitching grasp.

Miles upon miles of familiarity hits me, and in the affair, I clench the necklace in tension which shuts the locket.

What I have is a foreign gateway! Its purpose is unfolded in my brain. Coming as a headache that does not distribute pain, it instead injects a sense of lightness into me. Like being scared straight without the fear.

Reclaiming my mind teleports me to my home-world. I'm in a hospital bed, however, not of the N.R.O. branch's facility. Someone must've recovered me from my whereabouts and treated me of the wounds I have gathered from...

Looking at the room's clock, the beeping of machinery in sync with the minute hand's interval, it tells me that it's 11:27 A.M.

May 25th, Wednesday, 2031

I have retained the locket that Alexander gave. How it transported itself is something that isn't capable of being understood.

>The ONLY thing they talk about having been a common occurrence in the forest
A place (in this case, a forest) with a specific special property? Sounds a lot like a legend to me.
>SPECIFICALLY involving disobedient children
Just like our world's Bogeyman in all its reality, whose appearance, as we all know, is caused by a child from another world, and is not just a story told to children to frighten them into behaving well.
>AFTER our cautionary tale against disobedience,
Post hoc ergo propter hoc. That's a fallacy.
Also, a mysterious encounter in the woods where a ghostly being tells a moral tale and disappears? Sounds like a great story to relay to the townsfolk which will get built upon into something far greater over time.
>and you say that it isn't our fault.
Of course not. You haven't in any way proven that this isn't just a village tale that's been inspired by our encounter with Alexander.

>>3493165
I'll "face it" when you have evidence to back the claim up.
>>
>>3493187
Let me rephrase the third point a bit. Post hoc ergo propter hoc doesn't apply, and I jumped the gun on accusing you of it.

I agree that the story that currently exists only does so because we gave a cautionary tale.

I disagree that the tale is firmly rooted in fact.
>>
>>3493190
Are you ignoring the part where the farmers son was a recent occurrence, that directly contributed to the restriction of access to the forest, due to a dare? Wait,
>>3493146
>Plenty of dangerous things live in the woods
Like what? We have never, in any of our times popping into that specific forest, ever encountered such so how would you know that? We have no way to even infer such.

>>3493187
>I'll "face it" when you have evidence to back the claim up.
These parts of the passage:
>>3493100
>From the depths of your woods was a short-sword: a rusty piece of metal that I took a liking too. Its real worth was achieved when I spruced it up at the local blacksmith, and at that time too, I was preparing to go into the army. >This is the treasure from his bosom; placed into this locket for this exact moment.
>For, the otherworldy god contributed context."
>>
That short sword was in our forest specifically to take our uncle's heart and have it given to us.
>>
Shit, he even named the sword after us:
>Alexander Comme, the humans' Saintly Knight, assisted a struggling war against the Outer God Yahlfk'ta and his unearthly forces upon rising through the ranks of his country's men. The dark monarch is as if intangible, however, he could be touched with a tricky perception of depth. My compatriots old were forced to work under Yahlfk'ta's order, and in the process, they found the opportunity to take over a weakened Midrey after Alexander destroyed the otherworldly god. With the sword Tairinius, Yahlfk'ta perished.

>Get out of the bed and examine the locket.

>Like what?
Animals. Magical shit that isn't us or related to us, like some rusty-ass sword that turned out to be a legendary weapon.
>the farmers son was a recent occurrence, that directly contributed to the restriction of access to the forest
The farmer's son should have known better than to go into the woods. Travel was fucking dangerous in the middle ages because animals and bandits were everywhere that human civilization wasn't. We don't have much reason to believe otherwise except for the fact that we've been lucky enough not to encounter any such thing in our few, brief visits.
>how would you know that? We have no way to even infer such
I suppose the reason the knights on our first visit were riding through the woods fully armed and armored and captured the first person they came across is because they were out for a pleasant stroll in a safe area?

>These parts of the passage
have no connection with one another. The first line is about the sword, whose only established connection to our uncle is the fact that Alexander used it to kill him. The "treasure from his bosom" is our uncle's heart. "Context" has something to do with the heart specifically, which could be basically anything like instructions to Alexander on how to get the heart to us because eldritch being. There's no proof there that the sword somehow resulted from our presence specifically.

>>3493226
Even if it was, that doesn't make it "our sword" nor does it make us responsible for its creation. If anything, it's all part of our uncle's eldritch keikaku.

>>3493235
>Shit, he even named the sword after us
That proves nothing. I could go out right now, buy a kitchen knife, and name it after Nelson Mandela, but that doesn't mean he had anything to do with the knife's creation.
>>

So you're just amounting it all to mere coincidence.
>>
>>3493636

A minor ache springs up as I get out of the hospital bed. To it, I massage myself, pulling the inflaming blood from my brain to somewhere else on my noggin. When my crushing nausea subsides, I re-examine the locket that Old Alexander gave me.

Clicking the clip at the pendant's bottom reviews the beating heart of a 'god'. The cardioactive electricity flows through its nerves without support, continuously constricting and contracting to pump fluids that are no more.

The observation doesn't yield anything, so I pick my head up.

I am not inside the hospital. The tree I've crouched by just several minutes ago faces me, its bark an inchworm's length from my skin. Exposed, I create friction to warm myself from a shiver. A hospital gown isn't made to insulate, especially in this cold humidity.

"Grandpapa, where has Sir Tairou gone to?" Alexander and his grand-daughter didn't leave, nor did time passed at a divine's perspective.

"Somewhere, Jericho... He needs his peace. He has earned after an endless wander within these parts."

As great as it would be to let Alexander have this as a moment of closure, I feel like we should thank him properly. Maybe promise we'll check in on his bloodline now and again as thanks for helping us out.

"I am, in fact, not dead." I pop up from the tree. Alexander's life hasn't been played out for me in length, and I don't know the challenges that he went through to get to this time in his life. Am I being inconsiderate of the old man's quest for closure? Surely. That I can reprimand myself for. However, as my own judge and jailer, I'll let the cell of my prisoner free inside my heart — to make a mistake anew in the future, and for that, it'll be roundabout. Because it's common for a human to grant him or herself lenience in the court of his or her judgment. That's why in reality, courts are full of other people that'll scrutinize thine testimony.

The thought that I have moved on to the afterlife is doused by the water from my act of normalcy. Alexander scrubs his eyes with a thin finger, then, gives out a laugh. "... Ha. 'Twas stupid to side with the conclusion."

"Don't be down," I cheered. Moving in, I put myself at a better spot. "It's not that I meant to mock you. I'm really thankful for your gift. After I get myself an instruction manual for this contraption, how about I pay you back the favor? Per se, check in on your bloodline once in a while? Wouldn't mind that, and to see your grand-daughter becoming a fine lady."

Alexander strokes his beard. "If a malicious plan is not an underlying mine, I'll permiss this promise. Jerice or Alevar would look out for my dear Jericho when I'm gone, but what of the possibility of them leaving sooner than I expected? Tairou, I'm more than happy to let you. And I'll trust that your motives won't undo the justice that I have planted, for its flower has yet to bloom. The war with the elves perpetuates the seed's hibernation."

We seal our amateurish negotiation with a firm handshake. There's no fat under the old man's skin that droops, but the muscles and bone are a herculean flex. Little Jericho isn't affected by our gravity, not that there is any in the first place.

"Sir Tairou." The sweet strawberry tugs on my arm while I dabbled with the locket again.

"Hm?"

"You... You look handsome!"

this anon makes a good point, though it could also be true childhood innocence. shes probably been filled with mythical tales and exaggerations of her grandfathers and families deeds, both alive and dead, and their friends. their features in artwork and tales probably told past true realism. and now shes seeing a real life myth before her, and id imagine we must not be plain faced considering everything.

HOWEVER, I think we can all agree to find Jericho a fine man to have a monogamous relationship with and to bear many children.

But what do we do if she actively refuses anyone and everyone we bring to her?

Not gonna lie: if she ends up truly in love with us when she's older, then she's a solid few tiers above our current prospects.
And, well... if you were in her shoes, and your choices for life partners were Midrey Noble Schmucks #323-343 and a goddamn living legend hottie who inspired your grandfather's mythical world-saving quest, who would you pick?

A sun is stored inside me, scorching my innards to a charcoal substance whose quality's objective is to snap, shrivel, and turn into dust. Hanami confessed her own love to me — and has yet to prove that her admittance was fiction. A spur requite during our compassionate fervor for the sister and the brother. Kitasawa, I haven't studied thoroughly in her new alteration. My regiment did break her unruly psyche so that she loves to be at my presence. The attitude towards my own has become bridely, if not nuptial. A huge reconstruction when looking at her history from start to finish. Is it ethical, I must pique?

Mary. Romantic appreciation is possible but not without question. A wolf is led by a vixen to an expedition into the woods of love, however, winding in circles: an uncertainty that shouldst be certain when brought up brave. The flirting doesn't recept a tidy line of communication, jumbling the terms of 'friends' and 'an intimate partner'. Makita is a ship that I need to relearn after what my captivations did to her. The current at the hull won't wait, pushing her into a direction that I'm indecisive on.

"Guh," reddened, I identify my confoundment as a genuine example. "Uh... Thanks?"

Jericho isn't zapped by the symptoms of Cupid. Her eyes are lively, globes that hide dancing stars, albeit plagued by the guilelessness of children. Her sincerity isn't used effectively; though, condoning that to a young lady is a no-no for me.

Regaining placidity, I speak back. "And you're a pretty lass. Save that phrase for someone better than me."

"But there isn't anyone better. I think...? Grandpapa would tell me your tales whenever I'm tucked into bed. Is it true that you ate the Sun like an apple and spit its seeds into the sky? Is that the reason for the stars, and why the Sun doesn't show its back?"

Cursed be me. Jericho's pupils hide more than life. A steely innocence that could lead to witch or priesthood. While it's awesome that Alexander pinned my personage as a tall tale, he should think twice of telling stories to his grand-daughter that gazes blankly, but, vibrant in unison. A white canvas that is actually a beautiful landscape, mysterious as to what, which was painted over.

> "That's up for your interpretation. My feats do get blown-up into exaggeration so far that it isn't like the original telling."
> "I didn't. Your grandpa's a good story-teller, so give him the credit for fueling your imaginations."

"That's up for your interpretation. My feats do get blown-up out of proportion so much so that the original isn't like the first telling. Now, the one about my battle with the Monkey King? That's all true."

Jericho strums my strings just right that I feel like a kid myself.

The pitch of her voice can whisk a stoic man into an operatic singer. It is that refreshing, reminiscent of a salvational breeze on a hot day; where the sky is clear and ice cream is sweetest.

"Grandpapa hasn't told me that one yet. Why would you battle with a king of monkeys, though? Monkeys aren't smart, and a king of them sounds like he's dumber."

"Jericho, monkeys are smart. They act the way they are to have others' guard down. But I'm not talking about a real monkey. A war-maiden who can kill men by the hundreds. Her hair is so wild that she has to tie the end of their strands with a bulky cord; for her hair would be seen as a ball of bark-colored fuzz." My knuckle pecks on Deneira's tree. "A color similar to this oak to be specific. And her staff can stretch itself just as wide, just as long. As big as a palace's wall."

Alexander watches me divert from his granddaughter's request of a tall tale's validation to another story: of the fight with Wukong. As well as adopts the vigilance of Jericho's engrossment.

Without movement from the little girl, her heavy dress that's tailored to her liking and size exercises its portrayal for the best of my feedback. Golden buttons on the shoulder-straps of the foremost coat gleam at the slightest concentration of light. Under the sea-green layer is a basic combination of an ornamental skirt that's the exact length of the first — scarcely above her slippers that snuggle the toes and the tarsals — and a white blouse. Its sleeves are puffy to a degree.

The tale that I had spun ran out of thread, signifying my time to leave. I said my goodbyes to Old Alexander, then to his little Jericho who begged for my guest. For her to let me go, I relayed the message that the retired Saintly Knight and I agreed upon, which energized her verbosely; but importantly, gave me my road.

In front of the two, flicking the pendant's shell was more awkward than I could handle. I did transport myself to the hospital eventually, nothing of difference made while I was gone. On the desk was a box that I haven't detected upon getting up from my medical bed. It's a small cake from my family.
