In this quest you play as Wade Wakeman, a 16 year old boy with a heart of gold and the wielder of the Omnitrix. This story is being told in an alternate universe, in which there are no longer any remaining Tennysons. Characters from earlier seasons will appear, but not always in a way that you’d expect.

Last time: As Team Wakeman arrived at their destination, the planet that they were pursuing arrived earlier than expected. A massive shockwave threatened to destroy the ship and everyone inside, but Wade and the others attempted to save themselves by erecting a hastily made barrier. But the shockwave proved to be too powerful, our hero was knocked unconscious, and his fate remains uncertain...

Rules:
Most dice rolls will be 1d100. Modifiers will be added depending on the situation or on the alien being used. Crit successes and crit fails apply.

To roll dice, type “dice+1d100” in the options field without the quotations.

You slowly rise to your feet while clutching your side, and glide over to a gaping hole in the side of Iden's ship. It looks like you've crashed on a nearby jungle planet. But that doesn't make any sense. The only nearby planet was-

Your thoughts are interrupted by Wade's pained groans.

[K8-E]: Wade!

You're at his side in an instant, assessing his current physical state. Heart rate is slow. That would usually be normal for humans, but his seems a bit too slow this time. Upon inspecting him further, your hand touches something warm and wet. When you raise your hand to see the red liquid that paints your blue skin, your worst fears are realized. Your beloved is dying...

[K8-E]: Oh no…just hold on, okay honey? I'm going to get some help.

Your mind is racing just as fast as your legs are, as you scrounge around for medical supplies in the ship. You've managed to find the other survivors, but they have yet to completely pull themselves off the ground. And you do not have time to wait for them.

You completely forget about your own injuries in your mad scramble, and panic begins to set in as you count the precious seconds that are ticking away.

[Iden]: Kineceleran.

You quickly turn around to see a severely damaged Iden holding a first aid kit. Her voice is robotic and unstable. She must've sustained more damage than the rest of you. You had no idea that the flesh underneath her face was synthetic as well. Why anyone would choose to mutilate themselves in such a way, you will never understand. Still...you are grateful to receive her help in these trying times.

[K8-E]: Thank you.

You dash away from her and quickly return to Wade's side. His family and friends are now surrounding him and assessing his current health condition. It does not please you clear them all away with a brush of your tail, but you've no time for pleasantries.

[Wade]: K8…..

His breathing is shallow and labored. You pray that he has not punctured a lung. The cybernetic doctor might be of some use here.

[Iden]: Everyone except the reptile, step aside.

Everyone turns to see Iden and Myaxx approaching you and Wade. Her face has yet to fully heal and bears a striking resemblance to the Earth's “Terminator”.

She kneels down next to Wade and scans his body with her red cybernetic eye.

[Iden]: It appears that a bit of shrapnel from the ship has lodged itself into a tiny crevice within his armor. It isn't a fatal injury, but we shouldn't try to move it. If we try to pull it out, his armor will regenerate and push it even deeper.

>”So we’re just supposed to let him bleed to death?!”
>”Perhaps I can pull it out if I move quick enough. I am quite good with my hands.”
>”Please do what you can to keep the shrapnel in place and minimize the bleeding.”
>Tell Trixy to remove the remove the suit and tell Iden to remove the power source from Wade's belt.

Iden locates the shrapnel with another scan of her cybernetic eye, and she even highlights it for you to make sure that you don't lose track of it. You firmly grasp the shard of sharp metal with your claws, and take a deep breath before committing to something can possibly...well, you will not fail...

You nod to Iden and heighten your heart rate, bringing you "up to speed" as ML-E likes to call it. You slide the metal shard out of Wade's side, carefully avoiding his organs and any major arteries. Almost immediately afterward, Iden seals up the wound with a liquid solution that hardens as it makes contact with Wade's skin. You are pleasantly surprised by how quick the doctor was to seal the wound. She is certainly faster than you expected.

[Iden]: I was able to close his wound before the armor closed up around the gap, but he is still bleeding internally. We need a way of prying him out of this suit, but his AI is as non-responsive as he is.

You observe that Wade's eyes are glazed over, and they appear to be slightly glowing.

[K8-E]: What's happening to him?

[Gwen]: He's in some sort of magic induced coma. It probably saved him from taking the full brunt of that shockwave, right before he burnt himself out by wasting all his mana. His aura is almost non-existent...

The purple cat inspects Wade by lifting his eyelids with her paws.

[Kirby]: Wow, I never taught him how to do that. I didn't even know you could do that.

[Gwen]: Neither did I. Either he did it himself...

[Olivia]: Or someone protected him...

[Phil]: Or "something".

You can never follow the mystical aspects of these conversations. It's so frustrating for you to just sit and wait while your boyfriend dies slowly. You simply do not have the energy to contribute to their theories. Theories will not save Wade...

Your thoughts are interrupted by a shadow looming over you from above. The creature that casts the shadow resembles a man with a canine-like head. His fur is pitch black, and his claws are sharpened to a point. Perhaps they are the natives of this world. Or perhaps...they are its predators...

[K8-E]: Please, he needs help!

The creature observes you without blinking. He slightly turns his head to look at Wade, and for a moment, you swear that you see a sad look in his milky white eyes.

[???]: Allow me to bring Wade to my village. It is the only way that I can help him.

In an instant, he disappears and reappears right next to you. The others are clearly alarmed by his intrusion. How is it that he moved without you seeing it?

>"I cannot allow you to take him without us. We will go with you to your village."
>"Where are we? And which species do you belong to?"

You extend your arms and step between the strange creature and your companions.

[K8-E]: Do not attack! He is here to help!

Everyone puts away their weapons, and it appears that Julie and Carol have joined the rest of the group. They are injured, but they will live.

You turn to the black furred being an try to look for anything that could lead you to believe that he has malicious intent. Yet he is unflinching in his stance, and he doesn't strike you as a ruffian.

[K8-E]: I cannot allow you to take him without us. We will go with you to your village.

You will allow this to proceed, up until you have reason believe that he means you any harm.

[???]: Very well.

He kneels down to pick up Wade, and you lift your tail to hold back Wade's family. After picking him up, the black figure lets out a high-pitched howl that echoes throughout the ship. Just then, you are surrounded by a group of jackals that resemble the one holding Wade. They all hold spears in their hands, standing completely still as if they were statues.

[Phil]: What the-

The creatures slam their spears down onto the metal floor simultaneously, and you are immediately brought to another location. The sudden shift in space does not affect you much, but it takes its toll on the others. The unflinching sentinels help the others to their feet, and you carefully examine your surroundings.

Their village appears to be quite primitive, as it is still being sustained by Kelpis crystals. You recognize them from the history logs back on Kinet. Your people depended on them hundreds of years ago as a source of non-renewable fuel. But the detail that draws your attention the most is this village's severe lack of intelligent life.

[Kirby]: Where is everybody?

Kirby's bold, outspoken nature never ceases to impress you. He simply states whatever he is thinking without holding back.

[???]: They are presently observing our movements from afar. I doubt they will show themselves to outsiders.

The largest of the creatures carries Wade to a nearby tent and lays him down on a bed of straw. His family and friends watch closely from just outside the tent. You cannot fault them for being worried about him. It is rare to see him so...vulnerable.

[???]: We will remove his armor and stop the internal bleeding. I only ask that you grant us time to operate in peace.

With a wave of his hand, Wade's armor is removed and placed into a nearby chest. It is severely damaged from the blast, and you doubt that it will be of any use to you now.

>"Thank you."
>Agree to his terms and leave him to operate in peace.
>"You are one of the Aflezzi, are you not?"
>"How exactly was it that we survived the crash and ended up on your planet?"

Ok, thanks for continuing this quest instead of just dropping it galvan

[K8-E]: I understand. And I am grateful, but I wish to inquire about the crash. How was it that we survived and ended up on your planet?

The large Aflezzi stops what he is doing and turns to face you with his lifeless gaze.

[Jakal]: We brought you here. We've been expecting you for some time now.

Your confused expression causes him to laugh in a deep tone.

[Jakal]: Our seers foresaw your arrival, as well as your crash. We attempted to stop it, but we miscalculated the jump and created the shockwave that caused your crash. Our visions had created a causality loop as a result of our intention of fighting the will of the cosmos. But all things happen for a reason. Even this...

He looks down to Wade's unconscious body, and an unbridled rage builds up inside of you, before you forcibly push him against a wall.

[K8-E]: You caused our crash! You could've killed us!

[Jakal]: You misunderstand. Our intentions were not to cause you harm, but the event proceeded as the cosmos willed it. You were meant to arrive on our planet, and your champion was meant to undergo this trial.

[K8-E]: Trial? Champion? I do not understand...

[Jakal]: Do you not see? You are at the center of a very pivotal point in history. You can prevent the-

He immediately stops talking as his ears perk up, and he begins to look around nervously.

[Jakal]: I-I apologize. I have said too much. Please, leave me to my work.

You let go of him and bow before turning to leave the tent. You catch one last glimpse of Wade's face and strengthen your resolve. You will not allow him to be harmed while he is in this state.

As you exit the tent, you are met by the expectant gazes of your companions.

[K8-E]: His physical injuries are not fatal. He will recover, but I am not sure about this "magic coma".

[Gwen]: He should be fine. Right now, we have bigger things to worry about.

[Olivia]: The guard guys know all about D'Traxus and his invading forces, but they're kinda just...waiting for him to show up.

[Alan]: But we know where and when he's coming, right? We should be able to lay a trap for him when he gets here.

[Phil]: Ambushing an army? We wouldn't last a minute out there on our own. I say we stay here, reinforce our defenses and recruit some guards to help us.

[Olivia]: Well what if we asked the guards for some spoilers? There should be some Aflezzi on this planet with loose lips.

[Iden]: Don't be ridiculous. We should wake up Subject 9 and the bottled blue creature. We need reliably strong allies to assist us in combat.

[Myaxx]: I'm with the doc on this one.

[Kirby]: Well I say that we should find Azmuth like we said we would. He's gotta know what to do in situations like these.

[Julie]: We don't even know if he's in this village, let alone on this planet.

[Carol]: Ooh! What about the Plumbers?! Maybe we can hold off the bad guy's army long enough for reinforcements to show up?

All these conflicting voices and opinions. Wade made this all look so easy. Perhaps you should intervene and contribute to this discussion. What they need now more than ever is direction and leadership.

[K8-E]: Kirby and Iden are correct.

Everyone stops arguing and turns to you for a moment.

[K8-E]: Finding Azmuth should be our main priority. Me and Kirby shall search for him, while the rest of you retrieve Wendy and Olumar.

[Iden]: A wise choice. Come Myaxx.

Iden and Myaxx separate from the group in order to fetch your allies. At least you hope they are your allies. You are not enthusiastic about working alongside a woman who has attempted to kill you and your friends.

[Olivia]: While they're busy with that, me and the girls are gonna see what kind of gossip we can dig up.

[Phil]: Divide and conquer, huh? Not a bad approach. Me and Alan are gonna try our best to wrangle up a few guards and set up a few defenses before the attack.

[Alan]: What are we even gonna use? All I see are a bunch of rocks.

[Phil]: Then we'll build a wall.

Alan sighs deeply and ignites his body. It is remarkable how he managed to obtain a suit that does not succumb to his flames.

[Alan]: You mean 'I'm' gonna build wall...

He proceeds to lift the heavy boulders scattered throughout the village and melt them into one solid structure. As the girls take their leave, you and Kirby start your search through the village.

It doesn't take long for you to thoroughly inspect the village, but your efforts go unrewarded. You knew it was underpopulated, but you were unaware that it was almost deserted. Perhaps Kirby has had better luck with his magic senses. You quickly return to him with haste.

[K8-E]: Have you found anything?

Your sudden arrival breaks Kirby's concentration, and the dust that you have kicked up causes him to break into a coughing fit.

[Kirby]: Nothing. It's weird, but I can't seem to get a clear reading on anything or anyone on this planet.

[K8-E]: Well we must keep trying. It is far too early to-

You stop to notice that Kirby is not paying attention to what you are saying. He is instead focused on something that is behind you. You turn to see an Aflezzi adorned with tribal jewelry facing the both of you.

[K8-E]: Excuse me. Are you one of the guards?

[???]: Azmuth. I will take you to him.

[Kirby]: Well that makes our job much easier. I'm glad that we landed on a planet full of living taxis.

[K8-E]: Thank you for assisting us.

[???]: ...It is the least that I could do Kineceleran. Consider this part of my repentance for my sinful actions.

You give him a quizzical look and cock your head to the side slightly. These people do love to speak in unclear riddles.

In an instant, you are brought to the stairs of a stone temple just outside the village. Kirby nearly doubles over from the sudden shift, but you catch him before he can hit the ground.

[???]: He is just up these stairs. Tell him that Coyote sent you. He will not speak to you otherwise.
>>
You must have turned your head fairly quickly, because the back-draft sweeps back Kirby's hair and leaves him wide-eyed. This man is...the one that imprisoned you and your children! He is the Coyote!

>"What has happened to you?"

[Kirby]: Who's this guy?

[K8-E]: He had previously made a profession of kidnapping aliens and deporting them to their home planets. Me and my children were among his victims.

[Kirby]: Oh...I guess I wasn't around for that adventure.

[K8-E]: It was not an adventure for me…

Now that you've gotten a better look at him, he looks a bit different from the others. His snout is less pronounced, and his eyes are a cloudy grey instead of a milky white. Must be the effect of his mixed blood.

[K8-E]: What has happened to you? You look-

[Coyote]: Like an animal?

You sense a great deal of self loathing from his demeanor.

[K8-E]: I was going to say different.

Your delicate words give him pause, and he takes a moment to compose himself.

[Coyote]: Heh, indeed I am. My tainted blood continued to corrupt me. Turning me into this...thing. I spent my entire life despising my foreign lineage, but in reality I was only fighting my true nature. Perhaps this...is what I was always meant to be.

He stares at his black, padded paws with his pure white eyes.

[K8-E]: And how was it that you arrived on this planet?

[Coyote]: That is a mystery to me as well. While incarcerated on the Plumber base, my painful transformation had nearly rendered me immobile. Any complex thought that I tried to conjure up was washed away by the waves of pain that wracked my feeble body.

You nearly forgot how...colorful the Coyote's vocabulary was. He is as long-winded as ever it seems...

[Coyote]: And in my dazed and confused state, I somehow entered a trance. I heard my home, my people, calling out to me from sfar. I simply listened out for them, being soothed by their reassuring words. And when I has opened my eyes, I was here.

He pauses for a moment to appreciate the nature around him. He somehow seems more...serene.

[K8-E]: Well it seems that you have come a long way from being a common criminal. Thank you for your help.

[Coyote]: You would...forgive me for what I did?

[K8-E]: I didn't think I could...but I think Wade would want me to. He believed that you could change, and you have proven him correct. If you can change, then I believe I can as well.

Coyote's expressions are hard to read, but he seems delighted that you have forgiven him.

[Coyote]: I wish you luck in your endeavors. When Wade wakes up, tell him “Thank you”.

You nod to him with a bright smile on your face and witness him disappear before your eyes.

[Kirby]: So, would you mind uh…

You see that Kirby is motioning towards the massive stretch of stone steps before him. You believe you know what he is alluding to.

[K8-E]: ...Fine. But just this once. And do not tell anyone.

You pick Kirby up and carry him as if he were a princess. He is surprisingly light. You wonder if he is eating enough.

[K8-E]: Hold on tight and hold your breath.

(Cont.)
>>
He wraps his arms around your neck as you equip your visor and run up the temple steps at full speed. You move his head closer to your chest to avoid giving him whiplash or having the wind push his eyeballs to the back of his head. Once you reach the top, you are surrounded by a bright light that nearly blinds you with its brilliance.

When you open your eyes again, you see that you have entered what appears to be a secret lab filled with foreign technology, the likes of which you have never seen before! The walls and ceiling glow a bright translucent blue, and they have advanced circuitry running through them. The gentle hum of the lab's walls is interrupted by a sharp whistle from Kirby.

You then remember that Kirby is still in your arms, so you set him down and look around to see a tiny Galvan with his back turned to you. He is surrounded by advanced technology that looks to be comprised of scavenged ship parts.

[Kirby]: Wow. You are surprisingly strong.

You ignore Kirby and roll closer to the Galvan.

[K8-E]: Sir Azmuth?

[Azmuth]: Go away. I didn't ask for visitors.

[Kirby]: Yup. That's about how I expected him to react.

[K8-E]: Coyote sent us.

Azmuth immediately stops what he is doing and looks back to you, letting out a deep sigh and running his hand down his face.

[Azmuth]: Did he now? Why in Galvan Prime would he do that?

[K8-E]: He is an...old friend of ours.

[Azmuth]: Hmm, I see. Then quickly state your business.

[Kirby]: Save us Azmuth One-Kenobi! You're our only hope!

Both you and Azmuth stare at Kirby in complete silence after his sudden outburst. He seems to be the only one laughing.

[Kirby]: What? Come on...neither of you guys have heard of that one? Anybody?

You look to Azmuth in confusion, but he only shrugs.

[Kirby]: Star Wars. No one here has ever seen Star Wars?!

[K8-E]: I was under the impression that most wars took place within close proximity of stars. Or was it a war for possession of the stars? Or maybe...a war between living stars?!

[Azmuth]: I have witnessed many wars in my lifetime, but I don't recall that particular one. Which must mean it didn't happen.

[Kirby]: No it's not a real...nevermind...

Kirby begins to pout in the corner, so you proceed to get the conversation back on track.

[K8-E]: Sir Azmuth, we need your help. The fate of the galaxy is at stake.

[Azmuth]: Bah! When isn't it? If there's one thing I've learned after living for several centuries, it's that these problems sort themselves out eventually.

[Kirby]: That's bullshit and you know it!

[Azmuth]: Watch your mouth, human. You're speaking to-

[Kirby]: The smartest man in the universe, I know. You have no idea what's going on out there beyond this planet because you've got your head too far up your own ass!

[Azmuth]: You think that I don't know what's going on out there? I've witnessed the atrocities that were committed in my absence. I am well aware of the mad warlord's temper tantrum and how it ravages the galaxy.

[Kirby]: Then that's even worse! You're just hiding here like a coward instead of using your talents to stop this war! I just wanna know why.

Kirby's lack of diplomacy could possibly cause this whole plan to backfire. Perhaps you should-

[Azmuth]: Because it won't solve anything!

Azmuth's sudden outburst takes you both by surprise. His voice echoes through the lab as he breathes heavily, seething with rage.

[Azmuth]: The galaxy is plagued by a perpetual cycle of violence and destruction. Nothing that you, or I, do will solve anything.

He turns his back to you and you see his shoulders start to sag as he exhales deeply.

[Azmuth]: There is no "solution" for this war, because it will never stop. It will change shape and form, bringing about new threats that were previously unforeseen. But it will never stop...

He turns back to you, no longer angry or sad. He seems...without hope.

[Azmuth]: I'm just so tired of watching the galaxy destroy itself. So tired of...my own failure.

You didn't expect to see Azmuth so...vulnerable. You must think of something encouraging and upbuilding. What would Wade say in a situation like this?

[K8-E]: Mistakes are valuable lessons to learn from. Tell me Azmuth, what have your mistakes taught you?

Azmuth hesitates for a moment, as if your words offended him.

[Azmuth]: I've learned that my efforts to save this galaxy have all been in vain. Don't you see? This timeline is doomed. Born to die a slow and painful death. I just wish I could've known sooner.

[Kirby]: We already know. Paradox told us.

That was not something that you were made aware of…

[Azmuth]: Then you understand that we are doomed to fail. It may not be today, or tomorrow, but one day we will surely fail…

[K8-E]: You are not alone in your failure. The very fact that this war has progressed to this point is a result of our collective failure. But we must put things right in order to avoid any further bloodshed.

[Azmuth]: You would risk your life, fighting against the will of the galaxy itself, in a futile effort to preserve it. Why?

It appears that you have caught Azmuth's attention. You must choose your next few words very carefully.

[K8-E]: Just as this war remains endless, we must never stop fighting to protect those that we love. Even if it seems that the entire galaxy is against us.

You do hope that your words reached Azmuth. They were rather...cheesy. And it certainly does not help that you remembered the lines from a TV show that N8 watches on Saturday mornings.

[Azmuth]: ...Hm. What is your name, Kineceleran?

[K8-E]: K8-E. And this is Kirby.

Kirby waves enthusiastically, only for Azmuth to raise an eyebrow towards him.

[Azmuth]: ...Fine. I will help you. If I am going to die, then I might as well die heroically. Retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be.

[K8-E]: Yes! Thank you so much!

You pick up the tiny Galvan and press him tightly against your cheek. He resists with all of his might, but it is not enough to pry himself away from your clutches.

[Azmuth]: Put me down!

You come to your senses and place the nice old man onto a nearby table.

[K8-E]: Do forgive me. I got rather emotional.

[Azmuth]: Hmph. So long as you keep your claws to yourself, my knowledge and facilities are available to you. However, you must decide on our course of action here and now. We do not have much time before D'Traxus arrives to destroy you and capture me.

[Kirby]: What does he want you for anyway?

[Azmuth]: He wishes to perfect his teleportation device, and as much as he hates to admit it, he needs my knowledge to complete it.

[Kirby]: And how exactly does that make him a galactic threat?

[Azmuth]: Because if he perfects it, there will be no limit to what he can move. He will have enough power at his disposal to cause entire star systems to collide with another. He could send this planet inside of another planet, hundreds of light years away! Is that "threatening" enough for you, human?

[Kirby]: Yup...that'll do it…

Kirby looks strangely satisfied with the dire situation that we are in.

So how will you make use of Azmuth and his faculties?

You and Kirby commission Azmuth to create one of 3 things that you need the most. A jammer for D’Traxus’s teleportation device, a contraption that can speed up a creature’s natural healing process, and an advanced suit for your use in the upcoming battle.

[K8-E]: It will be quite difficult to decide between the three of these.

[Azmuth]: You don’t have to.

[Kirby]: Huh?

With a snap of his fingers, Azmuth commands hundreds of tiny mechanical arms and tools to descend from the walls, floor and ceiling.

[K8-E]: Amazing…

[Azmuth]: Did I not tell you that you were welcome to use “all” of my facilities?

You and Kirby are speechless.

[Azmuth]: Now then, let’s get to work.

You cannot believe that you are getting the chance to work with The First Thinker! Wait until your family hears of this back on Earth!

The easiest task was the creation of what Azmuth calls a “Rejuvenating Lamp”. It emits a purple ray of light that somehow mends wounds and rejuvenates the cells of a living creature. He had already built a prototype prior to your arrival, which cuts down on the time that you spent tweaking it. Once it is finished, Azmuth gets to work on creating the suit for you. You expected him to save it for last, but he doesn’t seem to think that it will take long. Due to your thin frame, he made the suit with a lightweight durable polymer that should be able to absorb shock and heated plasma, to an extent of course.

The real challenge came from molding the Polymer into an aerodynamic shape that optimized speed without sacrificing durability. Additional features were added, such as a tail with serrated spines, a built in VI with high speed processing and tire treads to be attached to your pearls. You were against the idea, but Azmuth insisted that it would increase your maneuverability. The white and red colors that decorate the suit are very appealing to the eye. You run a a claw down its smooth exterior before opening it up to try it it on.

The suit fits snugly around your body with a sharp hiss. It is strangely comfortable due to the insulation and built-in cushioning. Now you see why Wade enjoys wearing these suits. They are fairly convenient.

Lastly, you and Kirby assisted Azmuth in creating the jammer. He was already well acquainted with the technology associated with Null Void projectors. The jammer would act as an emitter that sends out signals meant to disrupt the portals to and from the Null Void. Azmuth had deduced that he was using the alternate dimension as a shortcut to and from different locations in our dimension. If his gamble pays off, then we should be able to prevent D’Traxus and his armies from using their teleportation device on this planet.

(Cont.)
>>
[Azmuth]: That should do it. All that’s left is to set up the transmitter and deliver the Rejuvenating lamp to your friend.

You try to hide your sorrowful expression at the mention of Wade, but Kirby picks up on it far too quickly.

[Kirby]: Hey, why don’t I set up the transmitter thingy? You guys go ahead.

[Azmuth]: Under normal circumstances, I would not willingly trust this to someone that refers to my creations as “thingies”. However...these are strange times we live in. Do be careful with it, human.

You are not sure as to why Azmuth trusts you and Kirby, but it is certainly a welcome development. As Kirby lifts himself and the transmitter onto a mana platform, you secure Azmuth in your arms and head back to the village.

-------------------------

Once you arrive at the village, you bring Azmuth to the hut that Wade is resting in. While it is difficult for you to look at him in such a sorry state, Azmuth's eyes are drawn to Wade's Omnitrix, firmly place around his waist. He hops out of your hands and places the lamp near Wade before calibrating it to work on humans. The Great Thinker's arrival has visibly shaken the Aflezzi.

[Jakal]: Azmuth! I-I had no idea that you had left your lab.

[Azmuth]: It won't be for long, Jakal...

You hope he is not actually planning to live out the rest of his life in that lab. Perhaps Wade will be able to persuade him against it once he wakes up.

You notice that Azmuth's attention is now being drawn to Wade's face. His expression is a sorrowful one, but you are not sure why.

[Azmuth]: Tell me, what sort of person is this "Wade"? How has he been using the Omnitrix?

[K8-E]: He is…

He is a hero. He is...your hero. But you not disclose that to The First Thinker. It would be far too embarrassing.

[K8-E]: He is a very kind soul that only wishes to help others and make the galaxy a better place. He loves his family and friends, and he’s even managed to easily befriend aliens and reform several criminals.

Azmuth has jumped onto Wade's chest to inspect the Omnitrix, but it is unresponsive for some reason.

[Azmuth]: Hm. He seems like the reckless type.

You suppose it would appear that way to anyone that did not know him.

[K8-E]: Well...I cannot completely refute that accusation. But, the only reason that he is in this state is because he sacrificed himself in order to save us all.

[Azmuth]: And why didn’t he just use the Omnitrix? Surely there should have been a transformation that could have handled the situation better.

[K8-E]: I...am not sure. But I am sure that Wade had his reasons.

[Azmuth]: Well, considering that I am currently unaware of what your circumstances were, I will defer to you on the matter.

Azmuth appears to be closely examining Wade’s face again.

[K8-E]: Sir Azmuth?

[Azmuth]: It’s strange. There’s something familiar about this lad. He reminds me of an old acquaintance of mine. He was just as much of a troublemaker, if not more of one.

The Great Thinker appears to be reflecting on something with a wistful expression on his face.

[K8-E]: You know…

Your words snap him out of his brief trance.

[K8-E]: Once this is all over, I would like for the two of you to get to know one another. He has been dying to see you all summer, and I am sure that the both of you would get along well.

[Azmuth]: Hm. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to get to know the boy that has stolen and possibly damaged my Omnitrix.

In your opinion, Wade was the best person that could have found it. He has displayed a masterful use of the device, and great restraint when it comes to using it only when he absolutely needs to.

Azmuth finishes calibrating the device and activates it, projecting a purple ray of light that washes over Wade’s body. Miraculously, the light begins to cause his wounds to close, both internal and external. You didn’t expect to see it work so fast!

[K8-E]: This is incredible! But...it does not seem like he is waking up.

[Azmuth]: I cannot heal brain damage so easily, so he might have to stay underneath the ray for a while longer. It will work, but it will take time.

Azmuth suddenly jumps into your arms and points towards the hut’s exit.

[Azmuth]: Jakal, be sure to deactivate the lamp in 3 minute intervals.

[Jakal]: Of course.

Jakal bows before the Galvan before returning to his work.

[Azmuth]: Now quickly, take me to my lab.

You nod and skate towards the exit, only to be met by the rest of your friends.

(Continued in Next Post)

[K8-E]: Hello everyone! This is Azmuth, The First Thinker.

You hold Azmuth as if he were an infant and display him for all to see. He is not very enthusiastic about it.

Your friends are stunned, absolutely speechless before such a great figure.

[Carol]: He's a lot smaller than I expected.

Well...almost everyone.

[Julie]: What are you talking about? He's just as small as Wade's Galvan transformation was.

[Carol]: Well, I wasn't around to see that one.

[Olivia]: Seriously? Even after I showed you his super detailed alien journal? It had their stats and abilities written inside and everything.

[Carol]: You expected me to read all of that? I was expecting the alien version of Zoobooks, not an encyclopedia.

[Alan]: I thought it was pretty cool. They even drew pictures for us. I'm pretty sure that Grey Matter drawing was life size, too.

While the kids argue amongst themselves, you feel Azmuth pinch your hand.

[Azmuth]: For the last time, put me down!

[K8-E]: R-right, sorry.

You gently place him on the ground and notice that Myaxx and Iden are approaching you. Myaxx is holding Olumar's lamp, while Iden carries an assortment of weapons on her back.

[Iden]: Azmuth...what a pleasure it is to finally meet you.

Iden sounds very sarcastic as she is saying this.

[Azmuth]: ...Do I know you?

Iden responds to Azmuth's genuine confusion with a look of unbridled rage,

[Iden]: Why you-!

Iden finally snaps and brandishes a blaster that was built into her arm. She is held back by Myaxx, who nearly has to tear her arm out of its socket to stop her.

Azmuth backs away from the crazy scientist, only to bump into Wade's Uncle, Phil.

[Phil]: Hey shrimp, how's the weather down there?

Phil kneels down and playfully teases The Great Thinker. His blatant disrespect makes you a bit nervous.

[Azmuth]: Phil Billings. I thought you had retired.

[Phil]: I was, but I was having a hard time sitting still at home. And it's "Wakeman" now.

[Azmuth]: I don't really care what you call yourself. Does this mean the Plumbers will be coming to assist us?

Phil scratches the back of his neck and looks away from Azmuth for a moment.

[Phil]: Yeah...about that.

You decide to leave Azmuth and Phil alone to discuss things for now. In the meantime, there are a few others that you can associate with. But you will have to be brief. The time of D'Traxus' arrival is nearly at hand.

>Wendy is alone and...equipping the Amalgamatrix?!! You must assess her current mental stability and make sure that she will not cause any harm to you or the rest of your friends.

You approach the white-haired man, who appears to be quarreling with the amphibious creature. When he notices you, he crosses his arms and nudges the Nemuina. He wears a black coat and hat, along with a mask that hides the lower part of his mouth. But the thing that draws your attention the most is his glowing, silvery arm.

[K8-E]: Um, hello there. Who might you be?

[Kaz]: Name’s Kaz. Kaz Torr. The pixie’s Lessa and the ol' man’s Trussel. And you are?

He is a human, or at least you think he is. His southern accent throws you off for a moment, as you are unused to hearing it. But as long as he speaks Common, you will have no issues communicating.

[K8-E]: My name is K8-E. And if you do not mind me asking, how exactly did you arrive on this planet?

[Kaz]: Why, I was hoping you could answer that for us. One minute we're cruisin' along the Schedar sector, and the next we're crashing smack dab into an unregistered planet.

[Trussel]: I bet it’s because this idiot logged the Astro-Nav coordinates incorrectly. Look where your little shortcut got you, you little punk.

The turtle flies into an angry tangent without warning, his Irish accent thick and noticeable.

[Kaz]: It was a calculated risk, ya windbag.

[Trussel]: It’s too bad you’re so shit at math then, ey? I would know, because I graded your papers!

[Kaz]: Your head’s as soft as your exposed gut, old man. There’s no chance our Nav would’ve let us ram into a planet while in hyper-speed. Darn thing must’ve jumped out at us out of nowhere.

[Trussel]: Oh really now? That’s what you’re going with?! I taught you a lot of things at Bograven, but I guess we should’ve went over driving lessons while we were at it!

Trussel pokes his can into the young man’s exposed chest, slightly pushing back.

[Kaz]: Pretty sure you’re too old and senile to keep your license, you wrinkled ol’ fossil.

The Nemuina steps in and pushes the two apart before the argument devolves into a violent altercation.

[Lessa]: Okay guys, let’s not embarrass ourselves any further in front of these guys.

It has always been difficult for you to discern the gender of Nemuina, due to their androgynous appearances and high pitched voices.

[Kaz]: ...Well, he started it.

Kaz and Trussel turn away from one another and fold their arms. Lessa hides her face in shame upon having you witness their immaturity.

By the gods, they act just like children. Well it is convenient that you are experienced in dealing with children.

You loudly clear your throat to get their attention.

[K8-E]: First, the planet did in fact move. It has special abilities, just like its inhabitants.

[Kaz]: Ha! Told ya!

The turtle mumbles something under his breath, and you are fairly sure that he is cursing at Kaz in another language.

[K8-E]: And second, congratulations on landing unscathed in an otherwise violent crash! That is quite an impressive feat considering that you were unaware of the planet appearing in this location.

[Lessa]: That is due to Mr. Torrrr's amazing piloting skills!

Kaz strikes a pose as Lessa praises him vehemently. She seems to idolize him for some reason.

[K8-E]: Excuse me, I hope you do not mind me asking a few questions.

[Lessa]: By all means, ask away!

[K8-E]: What is your relationship to one another, and what line of work are you in?

[Lessa]: Mr. Torrrr and me attended an institute that was meant to teach magic to Ledgerrrdomain refugees after the hostile takeover of Adwaita. Mr. Trussel was our instructorrr at said institute.

[Kaz]: Whoa Lessa, slow down there. She probably doesn't even know what any of that means.

On the contrary. You were informed of magic and the existence of Ledgerdomain. This new information does not surprise you as much as it should.

[Trussel]: And in case you had forgotten pipsqueak, Bograven's existence was supposed to be kept secret.

[Kaz]: Well that was before it blew up. Now we're just a bunch a' street urchins again.

[Trussel]: Speak for yourself, dropout.

[Kaz]: Mind repeatin' that?

Kaz's hand ever so slightly begins to drift towards the crossbow on his back.

[Lessa]: Guys…

You clear your throat once more to remind them that you are still present. Thankfully the smallest distraction is all it takes to cause them to forget about their quarrelling.

[K8-E]: About your professions...

[Kaz]: We're smugglers that take odd jobs here and there. We also dabble in a bit of bounty huntin.

It is as you feared. These individuals might possibly be involved in the criminal underworld. Now, you will need to proceed very carefully.

[K8-E]: Bounty hunting! How impressive. Did you, by any chance, happen to take the bounty for the capture of the man in possession of the Omnitrix?

[Trussel]: We may look foolish, bonny lass, but we don't go around believin in fairly tales and fake bounties. Every wizard worth their salt knows that the Omnitrix is a myth.

Kaz and the others nod their heads in agreement with Trussel. They appear to be very misinformed, possibly even ignorant to the history of the galaxy. But they do not seem like bad people. The kind turtle even called you a "bonny lass". Whatever that means...

[K8-E]: Of course, that is common knowledge. Now, might I ask how you met my friends?

[Kaz]: Those green gals over yonder saved us from the shipwreck. They said that they found us on the way to their own ship.

Kaz points to Iden and Myaxx with his glowing arm.

(Cont.)
>>
[Lessa]: We were very fortunate to have met you when we did!

[Trussel]: And let's not forget the young man we found lost in the woods.

Trussel points his cane at Kevin, who's struggling to carry an assortment of weapons for Iden. Myaxx relieves him of his burden and carries his share with ease.

[K8-E]: Well I am glad that you are all safe and well, but I fear that I have some troubling news.

They all lean in curiously.

[Kaz]: Well what seems to be the problem, little lady?

[K8-E]: Since you are trapped here like us, you will most likely be forced to fight, or at least defend yourselves from a threat that approaches this planet. Do any of you have any combat experience?

They all look to each other before adopting wide grins and turning back to you.

[Trussel]: Oh don't you worry about us. We've been fighting all our lives, wee bonny.

A booming explosion echoes through the skies above, and alerts you to the arrival of the Chimerian Hammer, followed by a very sizable fleet. It begins...

[K8-E]: Well then, I hope you are prepared to fight an army.

As your faceplate closes, you ignore the grim expressions on their faces and run over to Phil.

[K8-E]: Is the wall sturdy enough to hold them back?

[Phil]: Ground troops, sure. But those ships are gonna be a problem.

[Carol]: Then I guess you're gonna need air support!

Carol, Alan and Julie suit up and take flight to disable the ships that approach your position. You hope the three of them will return unharmed.

[Olivia]: Hopefully that jammer will keep them from jumping all over the place and bombing us into Oblivion.

Olivia adorns her cat themed armor by fusing with the purple feline known as Gwen.

[Azmuth]: It will work. I guarantee it.

[Kevin]: It better.

[Gwen]: Shouldn't we be preparing to intercept the ground forces right about now?

She is correct. You should decide on your strategy for defeating D'Traxus' foot-soldiers.

You grab a staff from the weapons cache and take a moment to inspect it. It is well balanced. Not too heavy, but heavy enough to damage your opponents should the need arise. Your college Splitz-Ball experience should come in handy right about now. It is very similar to Earth's "Hockey".

[Phil]: So, what's the plan?

Phil and the others approach you from behind.

[K8-E]: We will overwhelm them with brute force. Our combined might should be enough to push back their ground forces and buy some time.

[Iden]: Hm, how simple.

[Kevin]: Time for what?

[K8-E]: Time for Wade to recover and join us in battle. We cannot achieve victory without his aid.

They look to each other with skeptical expressions, and you cannot fault them for doing so. But you wholeheartedly believe that Wade will not allow himself to remain bedridden while you and your friends risk your lives.

[Olivia]: Well, I guess the plan is to kick butt without getting shot. Sounds simple enough.

Thankfully, Wade's family and friends do not have an issue with deferring to your authority. But you are sure that someone like Phil would be much better suited to the position, anyway. He has much more experience in these types of scenarios.

You run ahead of your comrades and scout the area for anything that could be considered a serious threat. Besides the oncoming horde of soldiers wearing makeshift armor, you cannot currently identify anything on your scanners.

Your friends join you shortly afterwards, being transported by Coyote, who nods to you before fleeing the area. You are sure that he must have his reasons for maintaining his neutrality, but you cannot fathom as to why.

[Kirby]: I would've liked a little warning before being abducted.

[Kevin]: Hey, it beats walking.

Your helmet's scanners alert you to the army emerging over the horizon, and you struggle to regulate your heart rate.

[K8-E]: Olivia, Kirby, create some cover.

The two magic practitioners erect a wall of mana to block any incoming blaster bolts.

[K8-E]: Do not engage until they are closer. We cannot afford to take any plasma shots.

Almost there…

They are all wearing white suits with an unusual energy coursing through them. Not even your VI can identify the material. They should not be able to use their teleportation device. Something is very wrong....

[Qrassk]: Hostile ones have been eliminated, my Lord.

A four-legged cyborg with multiple eyes and insectoid features crawls over to D’Traxus’ side.

[D’Traxus]: And the fodder?

You’ve never heard his voice before, but it is quite deep and foreboding. His speech remains unhindered by the sharp fangs that peek from underneath his lips. One of his guards, a slender female with long eyebrows and barbed tendrils for hair, kicks the charred corpse of a soldier for good measure. Her lips curl into a twisted smile, telling you that she is enjoying this far more than she should.

[Britella]: Dead and gone, chief.

[D’Traxus]: Hm. Then they’ve served their purpose.

As you try to pick yourself up, you feel the press of a cold barrel against the back of your helmet.

[Drayk]: Seems like we’ve got a live one here, boys.

The others turn their attention to you, assessing your worth with cold gazes. These monsters mean to kill you and everyone you love. You cannot let that happen!

You try to move, only for your legs to buckle, sending you back down to the ground as a jolt pain runs through your body. Your leg...you think it’s broken…

[K8-E]: You...sacrificed your own men to lead us into a trap?

[D’Traxus]: They devoted their lives to me, and were prepared to die at a moment’s notice. Do you share the same conviction?

He walks over to you, and you shudder in fear at the sheer size of this creature. He kneels down and snorts a puff of hot air into your face.

[D’Traxus]: Are you prepared to die for your cause?

As he gets up and slowly raises his gargantuan foot, you close your eyes and pray that your loved ones will remain unharmed. Your friends and family will be able to get by. So long as they are safe.

[D'Traxus]: Consider this a mercy, creature.

You pray that someone will one day destroy this monster and everything he stands for. Your vision blurs and your consciousness begins to fade. You pray...for a miracle…

You deliver a flying knee to D’Traxus, sending him flying backwards. His reptilian lackey tries to shoot you at point blank range, but you grab his gun and pull him into a lariat that throws him to the ground with a loud thump. Looks like you got here just in time. Any later, and he would’ve...well you don’t wanna think about it.

[Wade]: You alright?

She looks starry-eyed, her suit’s wrecked and that leg seems pretty busted up, but at least she’s alive.

[K8-E]: The others...they-

[Wade]: Are fine.

You point back to the others, who are safely guarded by a wall of crystal that you erected to shield them from the blast. You would’ve gotten K8-E behind it too, but she ran ahead so fast.

[K8-E]: Oh thank goodness. But, how did you find us?

[Wade]: Azmuth gave me directions, and one of the Aflezzi led me here. He was a pretty nice guy. Knew my name for some reason too.

It was pretty surreal to be greeted by Azmuth when you woke up, but he explained everything to you without wasting any time. You've got a ton of questions for him later, though!

D’Traxus rises from the ground with a loud roar, bringing your attention back to him. Your body still aches, and your head is a bit foggy, but there’s no way you’re backing away from this fight.

Your friends and family arrive from behind, though they’re still pretty dazed from the blast. Phil grabs K8-E, silently nods to you and helps to get her somewhere safe. Now that you’ve made sure that she’s okay, you can focus on the fight.

[Olivia]: We’ve got your back, cuz.

[Kevin]: Same here.

Kevin touches your back and absorbs some crystal from your skin.

[Kaz]: Ready to rock, rock guy.

A white-haired man, Nemuina and wrinkly old turtle stand by your side, ready to defend you. You have no idea who these guys are, but you don’t question it for now.

[Iden]: Remember to limit your transformation rate, Subject 9.

[Wendy]: Eat a dick, Mom.

Wendy transforms into a combination of Dropkick and Bat-a-Boom. You think you’ll name it “Bombirdier”. You better keep that name to yourself though. It’s nice to see that she’s awake, but you aren’t too happy to see her using the gauntlet.

[Wade]: Ready for Round 2, ugly?

[D’Traxus]: I will grind your bones to dust!

He leaps upwards and brings his hands together to slam them onto your head with all of his might. His guards move to attack you alongside their leader, but you trust your friends to take care of them.

You create a crystal platform that erupts from the ground and sends you flying towards D'Traxus. You stop his momentum with your own as you collide mid-air, sending the both of you tumbling through the forest. You both get up, refusing to let go of one another in your grappling match. He tries to knee you in the face, but you block it with your hand, hook his leg and slam his back into a nearby tree. Looks like you knocked the wind out of him with that one.

Gotta keep the pressure on him. Can't afford to get take any unnecessary damage. You aren't at 100% yet, and you're pretty sure that you're the only one who can take this guy out right now.

Just then, the warlord begins to spew some sort of white energy from his mouth. It barely grazes your shoulder, but you can feel it cracking your crystalline structure from the intense heat and pressure. Just what is that stuff?

You deliver a swift uppercut to his jaw, causing him to shudder and recoil in pain. The stream of white energy dissipates as his mouth shuts, and he staggers backward, but not before you grab his neck and catch him in a clinch. You then repeatedly deliver devastating knee strikes to his ribs and liver. You can feel his sturdy scales and bones cracking beneath your tough crystalline flesh.

After one final painful roar, the energy within his suit begins to build up. Noticing this, you break away from him and create cover with your crystals before he unleashes a powerful shockwave of mysterious energy.

[Wade]: Thought Azmuth blocked your Null Void tech.

The mad warlord laughs in a deep tone before pulling himself off of the ground and wiping a trickle of purple blood from his mouth.

[D'Traxus]: Did you really think the Null Void was the only dimension that exists outside of our own? I had a feeling that Azmuth would jam my technology. That is why I have made preparations to access an unlimited supply of energy!

He proceeds to punch the ground, sending another powerful shockwave through the ground and razing everything within the immediate area. You manage to jump away just in time before the ground beneath your feet is uprooted and incinerated.

You look back to see that D'Traxus stands within the smoldering crater that was once where you stood.

Man you wish you had a suit right about now.

[Olivia]: Hey Wade!

You look over to see Olivia throwing Gwen right at you!

[Olivia]: Catch!

Gwen whines as she soars through the air and towards you.

[Gwen]: You better!

You catch the purple cat, and are consumed by a bright light upon making contact with her. When you open your eyes, you see that you're wearing Gwen as a suit over your alien transformation!

[Wade]: Whoa! This is so cool!

The cat print on your chest is a bit lame though.

[Wade]: You're glad I like purple.

[Gwen]: You're glad I'm letting you borrow my power. Don't think I don't know how many suits you've burned through.

You'd love to banter some more with this talking magical cat, but your adversary is charging at you with glowing fists right now!

[Wade]: Hey Gwen, can you channel your mana through my body? I've got an idea.

[Gwen]: You sure that's safe?

[Wade]: Not really, no.

[Gwen]: Ha, I can see why Verdona likes you. Here it comes!

A surge of energy courses through your crystalline body, bouncing around millions upon millions of times in a fraction of a second. It almost overwhelms you, but Gwen is being careful to adjust the output out of concern for your wellbeing.

Surprisingly D'Traxus doesn't slow his charge upon seeing you brimming with mana, but you kinda expected him to be a cocky asshole anyway.

[Wade]: Now!

You refract the mana into one concentrated beam and direct it at D'Traxus. He attempts to hold it back, but it proves to be too powerful for him as it knocks him off his feet and sends him flying through a thick tree. Its charred splinters fall to the ground and turn to ash as smoke rises from the warlord's chest.

[Gwen]: Did we beat him?

You begin to walk closer to him, but then you feel your skin starting to shiver and crawl. Wait, that's not you.

Is Gwen...scared?

[Gwen]: Something's wrong. We need to leave…

Suddenly, you feel a stiffness in the air as white sparks fly around you and strike nearby trees. The warlord rises to his feet, but he seems different somehow.

[Wade]: Guess you're too much of a sore loser to stay down, huh?

He doesn't respond with words, but you receive a deafening roar that pushes you back with its pressure and intensity.

[Gwen]: That energy, it's bad news. Don't let him touch me!

[Wade]: Hey, what about me?

[Gwen]: Look out!

You turn your head to see that D'Traxus has closed the distance in mere seconds and is already on top of you. Gwen erects a shield to protect you, but it is shattered in one powerful strike.

You slide backwards from the force of the blow, trying to gather your thoughts, but the possessed warlord won't let you. He's almost on top of you again!

>Retreat and regroup with your friends. You don't need to take this guy on alone.

[Wade]: Hey Gwen, can you create some barrier to trap him for a sec? We're headed back to the others.

[Gwen]: Good idea.

Gwen's eyes glow purple and she creates several barriers that surrounds D'Traxus. In his confusion, you take the opportunity to cause several crystal pillars to grow up from the ground and on top of him. The pillars and barriers manage to hold him down long enough for you to disengage and restart back towards your friends. Your enemy's muffled roars send fierce vibrations through the ground as you escape.

Upon returning, you find that another wave of soldiers is quickly approaching you. However, Olumar is making quick work of the aliens that manage to make it through the dense thicket that Trussel is creating. Any soldiers that attempt to flank you are put to sleep by Lessa, and put down by Kaz.

The rest of your friends are either busy fighting D'Traxus personal guard, keeping the ships busy or holding back the soldiers with Olumar. Myaxx and Wendy are holding their own pretty well, and Ollie and Kevin are doing their best to protect each other on the back lines. Kirby is staying in the back to fire some mana bolts and lend support with his barriers, while Phil fires his rifle at a distance so he doesn't have to leave K8-E.

Upon your arrival, Iden quickly stretches an arm past you to stab an enemy in the chest with her built is surgical blades.

[Iden]: Back so soon? Did he prove to be too powerful for you?

[Wade]: He's using some kind of white energy and it's making him go berserk! I need you guys to help me take him down.

Who do you want to join you in your fight? It'd probably be a good idea to limit your selection to one or two people. Olivia and Kirby are more fragile than the others, so it might be dangerous for them to get involved. And seeing as Phil is busy guarding K8-E, who's badly injured, they're both out. Julie and Carol are essential to providing air support, but you should be able borrow Alan for a bit.

[Wade]: Myaxx, Wendy, help me out here!

The giant green woman and your twin sister make quick work of their enemies before arriving to your side.

[Wendy]: Got your ass beat that fast, huh?

[Wade]: Nah I was kicking his ass, but that's besides the point-

Just then, the ground beneath you explodes in a burst of white energy, throwing you and your friends away from the area.

Looking back, you see the mad warlord breathing heavily while energy pours from his eyes and mouth. His suit is almost completely fried from misuse.

[Myaxx]: What kind of tech is that?

[Gwen]: I don't think that's because of the tech. He's tapping into something like mana, but it's...old. Like really really old.

[Wade]: Is that bad?

[Gwen]: It's unnaturally pure. Mana influences everything in nature, and is in turn, influenced by nature. But this type of mana isn't affected or watered down by the laws of our universe.

[Myaxx]: So it's a type of energy from another dimension?

[Gwen]: Something like that. Imagine a bottle of soda that stays fresh, cold and carbonated after being open for billions of years. It's magic that well...defies the laws of magic.

[Wade]: But that's not-

[Wendy]: Ugh! Enough of this exposition bullshit! Let's just take him down already!

Wendy flies into a rage and rushes toward D'Traxus on her own. You aren't sure if that's due to the Amalgamatrix's effect on her, or if that's just her personality coming into play.

She hops between the trees of the forest at breakneck speeds, being further propelled by the tiny explosions that follow after her spring loaded jumps. D'Traxus attempts to swing at her, but she anticipates his movements and avoids the attack with ease. She grabs his arm, digs her sharp claws into it, swings alongside his shoulder and mounts his back, while leaving deep cuts in the beast's tough scales.

As Wendy gets to work by clawing at D'Traxus' back, you and Myaxx decide to jump into action.

>Allow Myaax to pick you up and use you as a weapon.
>Barrel into D'Traxus' stomach, while Myaxx delivers a devastating lariat and Wendy detonates a controlled explosion on his back.
>Have Wendy pull D'Traxus to the ground, so you can pin him with crystals and have Myaxx slam her fists down on him with all her might.

Without saying a word to one another, you and Myaxx begin your assault on the warlord. The gargantuan green woman punches D'Traxus with all her might, sending him flying backwards. Wendy then proceeds to kick off of his back with an explosive strike, sending him hurtling downwards towards the ground. And you're there to catch him with an uppercut that nearly shatters his jaw, sending him rolling across the floor before his body goes limp. The sheer force of his entire weight falling onto your fist nearly threatens to fracture your sturdy constitution.

The three of you stand over the crippled creature, waiting to see if he'll attempt to get back up, but he does not appear to be moving much.

[Olivia]: Is it over?

Olivia approaches you cautiously while keeping an eye trained on D'Traxus.

[Kevin]: Uh, I don't think so…

You all look in the direction that Kevin is pointing in, and you see the Chimerian Hammer charging it's cannon!

Qrassk: Initiate Primary Ignition…

The fleshy bug alien mutters something under his breath before passing out on the ground. Suddenly, your attention is drawn away from him and to the giant laser that illuminates the sky in bright crimson as it hums to life.

You were on the receiving end of that beam once, and it nearly wiped you out just from being near it. But now you've got nowhere to run, and no way to refract all of that energy...

[Olumar]: Master, get down!

Just as the cannon fires, Olumar jumps in the way to intercept the beam. The sheer force of it throws you and everyone else to the ground as Olumar struggles to resist its effects. You react the only way you know how, and create a barrier for you and your friends to get behind.

[Wade]: Olumar!

Her blue skin is charred black from the heated plasma, and it continues to eat away at her flesh with each passing moment. Just then, in a flash of white light, Olumar shrinks down considerably. She's the size of a child now!

Everyone still seems to be breathing, but you're pretty sure they've been knocked unconscious from the force of the blast. As you approach Olumar, you notice that all of the trees and shrubbery around you have been incinerated, leaving only ash and shards of crystal in their place.

[Wade]: Don't die on me, blue. We still have a galaxy to explore together.

You grab her lamp from the ground and rub it gently to recall her into it.

[Olumar]: Master…

[Wade]: Yeah?

Her voice sounds so brittle, and her frail physique causes a lump to form in your throat.

[Olumar]: I...apologize for ruining the party…

Wait, is that what she's been worried about this entire time? You guess a Goddess of Festivities would be pretty ashamed of ruining a party.

[Wade]: It's okay. We can have as many parties as you want after this is over.

[Olumar]: I'd very much like that...

Her eyes close as she turns into a puff of pale blue smoke and retreats into the lamp.

Your tender moment is rudely interrupted by a high pitched buzzing sound from the Chimerian Hammer's main cannon. It's preparing to fire again!

Just then, the green and black patterns of a Galvanic Mechamorph begin spreading across the hull of the ship like a wild fungus. It's Ship!

The glow and hum of the cannon dies down and the ship starts to fire on its own escort fleet. The tide of battle has been turned in your favor. We might just be able to win this! You hope Julie is okay though...

[D’Traxus]: This isn’t over, vat worm!

You turn to see D’Traxus rising to his feet once more. His breathing is ragged and his legs look as if they might just give out at any given moment. Doesn’t this guy ever quit? Also, what’s a vat worm?

[D’Traxus]: You will not deny me my destiny as the rightful ruler of the galaxy!

[Wade]: And just when I thought you were gonna disappoint me with a boring boss fight.

You raise your fists and take a combat ready stance, preparing yourself for his oncoming charge. With a deafening warcry, D’traxus closes the distance between you in an instant with surprisingly good footwork. He dodges your punch and barrels into your stomach with a tackle, throwing you off balance and nearly knocking you to the ground.

You manage to regain your footing, but the warlord somehow pushes you through a portal the bursts open right behind you. You aren’t sure if it was caused by him or not, but it doesn’t really matter to you right now.

You both trade savage blows while hurtling through an abyss of abstract shapes and thick fog. Neither of you are sure where you are, but you both know that you cannot afford to lose this fight.

Eventually, your descent comes to a stop when you and the warlord fall through another portal, leading to a massive stone pillar surrounded by a large body of water. A torrent of heavy rain splatters across your crystalline skin as you hit the ground and witness the portal close on its own. The dark, stormy skies and the sound of crashing waves paint a pretty clear description of the environment you were brought to. And considering the height of this cliff, you’d better avoid falling off the edge.

A clean blow to the face from D’Traxus brings you back to your senses. You remember that he’s on top of you, trying to pummel your face into a bloody mess. As he attempts to deliver another punch from above, your survival instincts kick in, causing you to push him off of you with your foot and throw him off balance. At least now there’s some distance between the two of you. However, it might be time to use your ace in the hole. Time to talk some trash!

>109!

The both of you stare each other down as the sound of rain slapping against your tough skin fills your ears. You circle the pillar's ring while inching closer to him with each pass. And just when you get in range, you begin your vicious assault!

You deliver a swift middle kick to his side, causing him to stagger backwards and lose his footing for a moment. Unwilling to let this prime opportunity pass, you fire a volley of crystals at his face and follow up with a series of consecutive jabs, each one faster and more ferocious than the last. Eventually, you get comfortable with your own pace, and the jabs become devastating hay-makers that target his already fractured jaw. He attempts to disengage and gather his thoughts, but you're not willing to give him any breathing room. The middle kicks that were originally meant to keep him at a safe distance are now being used to target his ribs and liver. And when he starts getting used to your kicks, you mix him up with some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Your middle kick turns into an overhead kick that slams directly against the side of his face as he tries to retreat. But you're not done yet.

You pin his foot to the ground with your crystal volley and continue our onslaught. Your left jabs open up his defenses while your right hooks devastate him and leave him dazed. He's completely caught up in your pace now. He can no longer connect any attacks in this state. He tries swinging wildly, but that ill advised action is immediately punished by several crushing blows. And just when he looks like he can't take anymore punishment, you deliver a right hook that uproots him and causes him to fly backwards.

As he slowly falls to the ground, you feel as if you're witnessing this moment in slow motion. You must have a crazy amount of adrenaline coursing through your veins. It was a hard fought victory, but at least you've finally-

The mad warlord gets up once more, overflowing with mana. It's like your attacks had no effect on him.

No! That's not fair! How many times is he gonna get up from getting his ass kicked?!

Just then, he unleashes a shockwave of white energy that causes your Omnitrix to glitch out. It flashes white and unleashes a yellow burst of light that cancels your transformation.

[Wade]: No no no no!

You try to fiddle with your watch, but it isn't responding to you! Even Gwen's separated from you as a result. You look up to see D'Traxus slowly approaching you, with a calm aura that you've never seen on him before. It's almost as if he's a different person.

No! You won't lose like this! You can still win this.

And then it happens.

D'Traxus' heavy footfalls cause the ground beneath you to crumble, causing you to lose your footing, sending you hurtling down towards the jagged rocks at the base of the pillar.

[Wade]: Come on! Trixy...please...

The lack of oxygen...is starting to get you...you're falling...too fast...eyes getting heavy...

[Trixy]: Self preservation protocols online.

You feel your body changing constantly, cycling through multiple transformations. You recognize them all.

Rad-El Snake, Zipmunk, Knuckle Duster, Dropkick, Spin Cycle, Wildfire, Bloodrush, Thriller Whale, Vertigoat, Snotrocket, Big Chill, Diamondhead, Bat-a-Boom, Bullfrag, Snapdragon, Hack N’ Slash, Grey Matter, Upgrade, XLR8, Fourcast and...

Huh. Never felt this one before...

Your body changes ever so slightly. The difference is nearly unnoticeable. But it won't save you from colliding with these jagged rocks. Your eyes finally close before your body violently smacks against the rocks and tumbles into the raging sea.

Just then, you feel the water begin to swirl around you, and your body doesn't feel as light anymore. The ocean's water enters your body, almost as if you were absorbing it, and it provides the nourishment your body needs to rise up once more. Soon enough, you grow so large that your feet can touch the ocean floor, and your head peeks above the water as you slowly lift your enlarged body.

Your height soon exceeds that of the pillar and you witness D'Traxus watching you from below. In his anger, he attempts to fire a beam of concentrated mana at you, but it does not affect you as much as you would have thought.

In retaliation, you raise your fist and slam it down onto him, crushing the pillar beneath his feet. But it seems that your heavy strike was not enough to finish him off. So be it...

An unusual energy builds up from within you, rising up from your chest and into your face. You flesh peels backward to reveal a mass of pure plasma that slowly enlarges along with your excess water absorption. When he attempts to get up, you fire the energy that you've built up in a beam that completely destroys the remainder of the pillar. Bits of charred rock fly every which way, and the mad warlord sinks to murky depths of the ocean.

After that attack, your body feels heavy and sluggish. Yellow energy consumes your body and causes the Omnitrix to timeout, and leaving you to the mercy of the waves.

----------------

You awaken to the feeling of being dragged across a course and grainy terrain. Did someone drag you ashore?

You look up to see Slate grabbing your collar with his mouth and struggling to drag you away from the shoreline. When he notices that you're awake, he begins to whine and happily lick your face.

[Wade]: Good boy, Slate. Good boy...

You struggle to not let yourself pass out with this storm raging above you. Gotta find shelter...

Suddenly, Slate begins to bark at something in the distance. You turn to see D'Traxus' head peeking out from underneath the waves. You don't think you can take much more of this....

You take a combat ready stance, ready for anything he throws at you. But then you notice Gwen dragging him ashore from underneath his stomach.

[Gwen]: Oh good...you're up. Do you mind signing for this delivery?

You smile at the sassy cat and walk over to assist her with carrying the big lug.

It's a good thing you managed to find shelter in a nearby cave. Now you've just gotta wait it out until help arrives. There's just one teensy problem.

You look up to see D'Traxus staring at you while being bound by Gwen's mana. His grumpy face is illuminated by the campfire that you and the others built to keep warm.

[Wade]: Who would've thought the height of things was gonna be fighting a giant man-child, huh?

Gwen snickers in the corner, and the warlord can only frown and narrow his eyes in response. You think you can hear him growling too.

[Wade]: Sorry. Just had to get it off my chest. Had that joke bouncing around in my head a for a while now.

You wonder why he isn't attacking you. Must be because he's given up on any chance of winning. You probably broke his pride or something.

The silence between you is a bit awkward though. Maybe now would be a good chance to...talk to the guy?

>"Hope your little temper tantrum was worth it. Now you'll be spending the rest of your life in Incarcecon."
>"Did you have any motivation other than just being 'the best', or 'ruling the galaxy with an iron fist'? Not judging, but that sounds pretty cheesy...and shallow."
>"This didn't need to happen, you know. If you would've just carved out a little corner for yourself and your Null Void buddies, then we would've left you alone."
>"What was up with that energy from before? I'd never seen anything like it."
>"Sit tight until backup arrives, okay? Pretty sure my guys were winning that fight, too."

[Wade]: So, did you have any motivation other than just being "the best", or "ruling the galaxy with an iron fist? Not judging, but that sounds kinda cheesy...and shallow.

[D'Traxus]: It certainly began that way. My anger had clouded my judgement, and I was convinced that the rest of galaxy should pay for what happened to me. But then I began to closely examine the incident that led to my creation. It was not the fault of the green hag or even the old frog. The Tetramand suppression had been instigated by the council in the first place. They supplied he weapons to the Khans and Lords of Khoros, and they continued to feed them lies about Gar Red Wind and his treachery. They wanted the war to happen, just to force Gar to give up his seat on the council. They had never liked him.

[Wade]: How'd you figure all of that out?

[D'Traxus]: I am not the only one with a deep hatred for the council. I have spies in my employ that are very adept in the practice of espionage. Once I had learned of this, I found the council unfit to lead the galaxy. They only have their own best interests in mind, after all.

[Wade]: So...what, this was all just a big plan to overthrow the council? What were you planning to do afterward? The citizens of the galaxy would never accept you as their leader.

[D'Traxus]: Maybe so. But they would not have had a choice. What everyone needs now is strong leadership and a unifying force to bring them together.

[Wade]: Don't give me that "Bad guy with a heart of gold" crap! None of this needed to happen. If you would've just carved out a little corner for yourself and your Null Void buddies, then we would've left you alone. No one would've died.

You realize that you've risen from your seat and raised your voice in anger. It continues to echo throughout the cave, but D'Traxus sits still with a calm look in his eyes that makes you feel a bit bad for your outburst. Is this really the same guy that was screaming at the top of his lungs earlier?

[D'Traxus]: Casualties are guaranteed when you are fighting for a cause you believe in. One day, you too will need to make a sacrifice in order to achieve something substantial.

[Wade]: Like nearly killing yourself with some otherworldly mana that you don't know shit about? What was up with that anyway? I'd never seen anything like it before.

The warlord takes a moment to catch his breath, and that's when you notice how bruised his face and body is. He slowly wheezes as he struggles to breathe in this damp cave. You sit back down and give him all the time he needs before he can start speaking again.

[D'Traxus]: It was a power that I had borrowed from an alternate dimension that I had discovered in my research of portals. It was like the Null Void, but somehow very different. There are many others like it. Dimensions that exist outside of our timeline. A separate multiverse existing outside of our own, and much larger on that note. I call them "The Outer Realms".

(Cont.)
>>
[Wade]: You discovered an alternate dimension, and your first thought was to use it as a weapon in a petty war that you instigated. That sounds more like you.

[D'Traxus]: I will admit, it was not my greatest moment of clarity. It was only when I had tapped into the vast well of energy that I had realized my mistake. I had crossed a threshold that should have never been crossed. I scraped the walls of a slumbering god, and it retaliated by nearly destroying me. I felt it's blood-lust, the raw hatred that permeated the space that it occupied. It wishes to exterminate us. Even now, my internal cybernetics are the only things keeping me alive.

[Wade]: So why come here and fight after learning all of that? Early retirement didn't appeal to you?

[D'Traxus]: My motives and viewpoint had changed, but my mission remained the same. I needed to forcefully dethrone the council, shattering the hierarchy and plant myself as the leader of a free, unified galaxy. We will not win unless we fight as one.

[Wade]: Win what? You got away from that thing, right?

A heavy silence falls over the cave, and Gwen seems to be highly intrigued in what you're talking about

[D'Traxus]: A war with the Outer Realms is coming to our universe, and we are not ready. I do not believe we ever will be. And it is all my fault...

It seems that D'Traxus set something in motion that you can't quite comprehend. You never expected this situation to be so..complicated.

>"You know, I wish you would've told me this earlier. If you didn't try to brute force everything, then we might've been able to come to reasonable agreement. I could've helped you."
>"Whatever's coming, we'll be ready for it. With Azmuth and everyone else on our side, we won't go down without a fight."
>"Then we'll do our best to unify the galaxy before these 'Outworlders' show up. And you need to testify against the council if what you're saying is true."
>"I understand why you did what you did, but I still can't forgive you for the lives you've taken. I'll have you serve your time and think about what you've done. Try not to cause anymore trouble, or I'll be coming for you."

This information is alot to take in, but you can't help but shake the feeling that this entire war was unnecessary. Why would he go through all this trouble just because he didn't trust anyone else other than himself to get the job done?

[Wade]: You know, I wish you would've told me this earlier. If you didn't try to brute force everything, then we might've been able to come to a reasonable agreement. I could've helped you, man.

[D'Traxus]: You wouldn't have understood.

[Wade]: Oh I understand why you did what you did, but I still can't forgive you for the loves you've taken along the way. I'll have you serve your time and think more about what you've done. Try not to cause anymore trouble, or I'll be coming for you.

[D'Traxus]: Hmm. A fair judgement I suppose. Any other man would have sentenced me to death.

[Wade]: Oh they still might, but I'm not an advocate for cruel and unusual punishment. I'll do my best to make sure that they don't kill or mistreat you.

Just then, a bright light shines through the mouth of the cave, and the droning hum of an engine hovers above the encampment. You proceed to get up and walk past the warlord to check it out.

[D'Traxus]: What if you fail, just as I did? What if your efforts…are not enough?

[Wade]: Whatever's coming, we'll be ready for it. With Azmuth and everyone else on our side, we won't go down without a fight. Plus, I've been told by someone that exists outside of our timeline that I'm it's main line of defense.

His eyes widen slightly upon hearing this, and he erupts into a booming laughter that catches all of you off guard. Once he settles down, he closes his eyes and gets up to follow you to the mouth of the cave.

[D'Traxus]: So be it. I concede to your boundless optimism, human.

After putting out the fire, you and the others leave the cave to see that Koba and his squad is out there waiting for you with a personal shuttle. However, their happy expressions immediately turn grim when they see D'Traxus emerging from the cave behind you. They train their weapons onto him, and you see your friends and family come pouring out of the ship to come and see you. They rush you from all sides and pull you into a group hug. They must've been really worried about you since you just came out of a coma.

[Olivia]: Don't ever scare me like that again…

You close your eyes and return the hug, wrapping your arms around your loved ones. While you revel in your warm, tender moment, D'Traxus walks past you and towards the Plumbers. They remain cautious and vigilant, not giving the warlord an opportunity to betray them. Once he gets close to them, he stares deeply into Koba's eyes as the Magister glares back with eyes full of contempt. Eventually, D'Traxus closes his eyes, kneels down on the ground, lowers his head and offers his hands to Koba.

(Cont.)
>>
The Magister stares in confusion, but Kay'n wastes no time in subduing the warlord and fastening his restraints around his neck and hands. This action snaps Koba back to reality, and he clears his throat before stating a phrase he had practiced many times before.

[Koba]: By the order of Galactic Law, B-21, sub-section 10, you are hereby placed under arrest for your crimes against the galacti. council and the Plumber organization.

Koba activates the restraints, causing the warlord to wince in pain before slowly getting up and walking on-board the shuttle.

You and the others board the ship as well, and you nearly stop dead in your tracks when you see K8-E waiting for you a bench. She takes a hand off her crutch and waves at you with a warm smile on her face. You respond by brazenly sitting down next to her and grabbing her hand before placing her head on your shoulder. You can swear that you can see tears welling up in her eyes. The flight back to the village is a silent one.

---‐-------------------------

Along the way, you ran through hundreds of questions that you wanted to ask Azmuth. You never really got to talk to him much because of the battle that was going on. But now that you're conscious and prepared to meet him...oh who are you kidding?! You're not prepared at all!

[Trixy]: Wade? Your heart rate has been escalating for some time now. Is it due to the Kineceleran female's physical contact?

[Wade]: What?! No! Well I mean, kinda. But it's also because I don't know what to say to Azmuth. What if I mess up and he takes the Omnitrix away?

[Trixy]: You have nothing to fear. I will vouch for your bravery and responsibility in the Omnitrix's use. All will be well, I guarantee it.

Trixy's reassuring words actually manage to calm you down a bit before the shuttle lands and opens its bay doors.

As you exit the shuttle, a tiny Galvan arrives to meet you with an entourage of Aflezzi. Even the weird one that helped you out is here.

You all pour out of the ship, but Azmuth's gaze is solely fixated on D'Traxus as he walks past the Galvan and onto another ship that the Plumbers had prepared for interplanetary travel. Not a word is exchanged between them.

Okay... here's your big chance to impress the little big guy and convince him to let you keep the Omnitrix. Here goes...

[Wade]: Azmuth, I'd just like to say-

He holds a hand up to stop you and a wide grin spreads across his face as his eyes scan you and your companions. As he's about to speak, you prepare yourself for the high praise that he's about to-

[Azmuth]: Give me my Omnitrix back, you young punk.

Or not...

I'd just like to thank you guys for supporting me and playing this quest these past couple months. It's been a blast writing for this quest and seeing your responses to everything that's happened, and I just wanna say that I look forward to continuing this quest in its second season after a short break to get my thoughts together for it.

Let me know what you guys liked, or disliked, about the season. I'll try my best to improve in the future, and I hope that you'll keep coming back for more!

The next thread will be a recap thread and a Q&A. I'll be going over what's happened so far in the season, while answering any questions or concerns that you might have. The thread will also be open to discussion about the Ben 10 series and quest, so feel free to share your thoughts on anything there.

As always, stay amazing and I can't wait to get started on Season 2!

What do you think of the DB between Hal and Ben?

Thanks for your support!

Even considering how potentially powerful the Green Lantern rings are, Hal's a bit of a goof and Ben can counter him with aliens that aren't even considered to be the most powerful in his roster. And lets not forgot his martial prowess and surprisingly keen sense for strategy.

Even without Alien X and Master Control, I still think he'd win.
