Well you arrived at the secret city of Bluff, destroyed the welcome office by shooting a yacht out of your arm, encountered and subsequently pissed off the law enforcers, gotten interrogated, played dumb well enough to make your life a little less shitty, and now you've arrived at your new home and met the person who brought you here. Good god, what a day.

Previous thread:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/3427306/

The figure is covered in a cloak and you follow him as best you can, almost losing him in the crowd more than a couple times. The scenery changes around you becoming more and more sparse. Eventually the figure stops and turns toward you, you are now alone. Your eyes dart around, noticing that the sky is no longer visible and you guess that you've been led to your death. The figure stretches to its full height standing a little more than a foot taller than you. A long, bluish arm reaches out from beneath its cloak and removes it. Standing in front of you is a toned, blue goddess. she is strapped with weapons and each hand has six fingers which crack as she stretches them. Brown thigh high boots meet an olive drab one piece overlaid with a tan, braided cuirass. Her hair is long and animated, only partially tamed by the ponytail she has it bound in. She runs to you and scoops you up, shaking you back and forth.

"Hey Cavia."

She smiles and sets you down, "I didn't think you'd get here so soon! I saw you get picked up by the Owls you idiot, what in the hell were you thinking?"

This is your friend Cavia Mosely. The only person in the world that has had your back.

You give her the long version and she frowns, which quickly turns into a smile. "You haven't changed a bit Qun. Also don't call me that anymore, it's Canyon now, remember? I mean I at least made sure to call you "Qun" whatever that means."

You were careless, but it just felt so good to see a familiar face. You stop, upon further examination you see that Cavia has really filled out since the last time you saw her. Moderate breasts, nearly flat as you always figured she'd be but she really did become quite the pear-shaped beauty. That ass is as much outta this world as she is.

"You've gotten so muscular! Although you're a little shorty, what only about 8 foot? I'm just kidding, don't worry haha. But come on, I brought you down 'ere for a reason!"

Cavia leads you into the building you both had been standing in front of. It reeks of dust and there are books literally everywhere. The furniture is old and wooden and somehow what seems to be natural light is pouring in through the windows. It's quite comfy. Cavia explains that the woman who lived here before you was quite famous among the people here and you'd be taking over her profession in exchange for this house. You'd be running a book store. You move through the small three story house, the bottom floor is basically a storage room with a strange sliding gate that may be a window? The second is entirely a kitchen and the third is a personal library/bedroom. That's what you're told at least, you can barely see anything through the mountains of books.

Cavia explains that she's working as a weaponsmith with the local chapter of the Bronze Colossi and to come by and pick up your piece she's been working on just for you tomorrow. But she wants you to be sure to finish work before you do. She goes to hug you and you both hold on for longer than you probably needed to. This alien city feels a little more like home now...

"Thanks for telling me about this place Cav- Canyon..." You scratch the back of your neck taking a step back after realizing you were still holding each other, "I really needed this."

She laughs and give you a funny face," I didn't invite you to Bluff... Telling outsiders about this place is like committing treason, I'm not about to get strung in the the Soul Trap in Ave Maria!"

You give her a confused look.

"OH! You meant telling you about the bookstore! My bad hahahaha. Of course no problem "Qun" I wouldn't leave my friend high and dry."

She chuckles as she leaves. You stand there watching the door long after she leaves before quickly locking it.

"Oh fuck."

There's no way we're gonna sleep in a dirty house.

(Luckily you guys are some agreeable fucks)

You begin cleaning because there is no way you're gonna be sleeping after that revelation. You spend the next four hours moving all the books to the first floor. You sweep and remove all the dust in the next rooms and realize the woman who lived here before you led a pretty spartan life. Nothing that resembled family and personal affects were to be found. You held off on touching the books on third floor simply out of thinking they may be worth something. You discover that the third floor has a small balcony that although can't hold much of anything, is still pretty bangin'. The kitchen is filled with preserved food, the length of time they've been here is unknown. This place is well built and you notice that the walls are pretty well reinforced. Exposed holes in the kitchen show that there is a thick sheet of metal running through the walls for some reason. Very weird.

You begin organizing books as best as you can. Which isn't very well. These books must come from all over the worlds because you have no idea how to read them let alone tell what language they are. At the end of the night you have transferred the poles of books into the shelves lining the walls. You match the ones with siimilar symbols and decide that that should be good enough for now. Your focus has been rewarded, paranoia escapes your mind and you're actually happy to start your comfy book shop life. You head off to bed.

You are jarred awake by loud pounding and shouting downstairs. You run downstairs and find there's no one at your door. Turning, you notice there is a chain dangling next to the large shutter. It is pulsating and a dull green light flashes weakly above.

You pull the cord and the shutters shoot upwards. Thousands of people are screaming and pointing at the books behind you. You can't understand them with them all talking at the same time. So this is your job.

>try and ascertain what they want by tracing where they're pointing
>start shoveling out books by the handful
>close the shutter

For the next 2 hours you try and grab what you think you're asked for. Some curse and scream but no one ever makes you take a book back so you guess it went well? A loud beeping begins and the shutter seals itself, narrowly missing prying hands.

A drawer underneath opens up revealing what the people gave you in exchange for the books.

Wow! It's nothing but garbage and some broken metal trinkets. Fucking hell. Wait a minute there is a dark grey sleeveless shirt in here. You put it on and it barely covers your abs. With these burlap pants tied around your waist, you look like a homeless person. You gather up all of the day's "earnings" in a bag and decide to believe that someone out there might want this trash. It's time to to leave the house, and you're quite literally starving.

You wander around for about before coming to a large tent teeming with people. Entering you find long lines of stalls and people walking around with trays collecting what they like and then sitting down as the long tables in the center. You approach the beginning of the line and you see people dumping bags of stuff in a large trough before getting in line. You follow suit, worried that someone might call you out for putting in basically garbage. Everything goes smoothly however and you grab a tray. You take enough portions to satisfy a small family and everyone is smiling and happy. People greet you and hug you and some even recognize you as the new bookstore person. You feel odd being a part of a community... Where you came from was nothing like this. Your tray is heavy and you need to find somewhere to sit. Only a few spots are open.
