/qst/ - Quests

In the far future, biotechnology advances by leaps and bounds, creating stunning achievements in medical, civil, and military applications. Illness becomes a thing of the past, and genetic modification is as commonplace as cosmetic surgery.

However, like all great advances, unchecked progress and experimentation has led to abuse and corruption. Ultra powerful megacorporations that monopolized the latest biotech have risen to be the great powers of the age, waging secret wars of sabotage, espionage, and deceit to get ahead of each other.

In order to fuel their rampant growth, megacorps develop lethal diseases and viruses, horrific bio-organic abominations, and ever more exotic genetic modifications to both sell to the highest bidder and unleash upon each other.

The rampant proliferation of bioweapons, and the need to contain them, has given rise to a new profession, the BIOWEAPON HUNTER.

You are LEWIS, a Hunter specializing in hunting down biological threats with your T-Doll companion HK!

Right now, you were sitting in the back of a helicopter as it extracted you away from what was left of your family home, now a smoking ruin and swarming with mercenaries out for your head.

With you were Springfield and HK. HK was completely fine, though Springfield had taken some rather serious damage. On the opposite end, there was Nemo, flanked by a pair of T-Dolls that you didn't recognize at all. They both wore black jackets with yellow hazard trim, but other than that bore no identifying features or marks.

"I know this may seem really confusing to you, but I promise everything will be explained when we get to our destination." Nemo mumbles.

You reluctantly decide to listen to Nemo and not say anything. After all, you had no reason not to trust her, even if her presence here and getting you extracted seemed very odd.

Instead, you turn your attention to Springfield and HK. Springfield appeared to have entered into some form a sleep mode, her eyes closed and her body completely still and stiff. No doubt some measure to prevent any more damage to her already busted up frame.

"Her damage is significant, but not extreme enough to warrant any concern." HK assures you.

"Well, are you all right?" You ask. You didn't see her take any hits, but it didn't hurt to be careful.

"Affirmative." HK nods. "Any damage I've taken is superficial at best."

"Where'd you get the motorbike?" You ask, still a bit curious about that.

"Hank authorized my use of it after he learned of your predicament." HK explains. "Similarly, the Boss allowed me to requisition the Harkonnen. Artya provided a distraction to allow me to escape the surveillance net around the office and Nemo arranged for your extraction."

Damn, the whole office pitched in like that...?

"Damn, I guess I owe them big when I get back." You grin. "And you too, Nemo."

Nemo merely nods silently, but you see the barest hits a smile tug at the corners of her mouth.

"Okay, we're here." She speaks up.

You instinctively glance out of the window, where you see what appears to be a large lake. At first, you wonder where the hell the helicopter was supposed to land until you see a small part of the water bubble and foam. Just a few seconds later, a massive, square structure lifts out of the surface of the lake, water running off its smooth edges. The top of the structure then begins to retract, revealing a shaft going down to the bottom, more accurately, something below the lake.

Given the scale of all this, and who was involved, your mind naturally reached a singular conclusion.

"Is your mom involved in this?" You ask Nemo.

"...yeah." Nemo nods.

Well, some blocks were falling into place, but not all of them.

"Once we land inside, we won't have access to external comms." Nemo warns as she hands you a phone. "This should be good for one secure call, if you want to talk to anybody."

You somewhat reluctantly dial in Mom's number. The phone rings a few times before she finally picks up.

"Hello?" She asks. "This better be damn important."

In the background, you can hear some really loud and really upbeat music, like some sort of outdoor party. Then you remember Mom was on a cruise with Carol, so she was probably just trying to relax and get drunk, as she usually did in her free time.

"Hey Mom, it's me." You say rather sheepishly.

"Lewis? Well this is surprise." Mom's voice becomes more relaxed. "Did you change your number or something?"

"Something like that." You sigh.

"Is something the matter?" Mom asks, her maternal instincts probably kicking in.

"Everything is fucked, Mom." You groan.

"Well that's not a good thing to hear." Mom sighs. "All right, what happened? Did you get Lucina pregnant or something?"

"No." You state flatly.

"Oh, then I'm assuming you somehow got the house blown up." Mom says nonchalantly.

"You... zeroed in on that pretty quick." You pause.

"Listen, Lewis, I'm your mom. I know most of the shit that would get your panties in a twist." Mom points out. "And you wouldn't be calling me out of the blue for an apology unless one of those two things happened."

"Well, you guessed right." You admit. "Apparently Umbrella got an arrest warrant out on me and they tried to raid the house so... I sorta had to blow it up."

"Fuck. It was a nice house, too." Mom grunts. "Did Pinky make it out okay?"

"We stashed it in the forest before we got airlifted out." You explain.

"Okay good- wait, airlift? Who the hell airlifted you out?"

You silently glance at Nemo and then return your attention back to the phone.

"That's probably wise. There's no telling if they might come after you, too." You warn.

"Yeah, you have a point there." Mom sighs. "And here I thought I could just relax for a week or two..."

Nemo then gives you a silent hand gesture telling you to hurry up. You don't have to look out the window to tell the a helicopter was now descending into the hidden shaft, meaning your signal would be cut off soon.

"Sorry Mom, I gotta go. See you soon!"

If Mom responded, you couldn't tell as the signal cuts out, giving you only a blank disconnection tone.

"So, this is quite the place you've got here." You say as you glance at the walls of the shaft as the helicopter continues to descend. "What's the rent like?"

"Beyond most small countries." Nemo remarks. "But my dad was smart with the investments so..."

Finally, the shaft opens up into a cavernous hangar area and the helicopter promptly lands. Nemo hops out the door and motions for you to follow.

"What about Springfield?" You ask.

"Don't worry, we have more than adequate facilities to repair her." Nemo nods to a pair of technicians, who quickly jog over and set Springfield on a gurney.

Meanwhile, the two unnamed T-Dolls exit as well, but keep a healthy distance. They were still armed.

"Don't mind them, they're just bodyguards." Nemo assures you.

"Their specifications indicate otherwise." HK glowers, her eyes glowing a soft green as she passively scans them.

"Ohoho, checking us out, are you?" One of the T-Dolls, the brunette twin tailed one, giggles. "Like what you see~?"

"Quit it." Nemo grunts. "Sorry Lewis, looks like my mom's still a bit busy. I guess I can show you around a bit, if you want."

"You know what, I am STARVING." You say. "Got anything to eat around here?"

"Heh, well we do have a cafeteria." Nemo cracks a grin. "Come on."

As Nemo leads you off deeper into the facility, you notice HK and the other T-Dolls still trading probing stares at each other. Guess HK was still being a bit territorial.

You reach the cafeteria soon enough. It seemed pretty empty, though you wonder if there were many people in this facility to begin with. Nemo just casually walks up to the counter, punches a few keys in the console, and a conveyor belt activates. A hatch in the wall opens and tray of grilled cheese sandwhiches and several cans of soda slide out, which you and Nemo quickly grab. Your stomach rumbles as the aroma of melted cheese hits your nostrils.

"So, do you mind if I ask you a question?" You say as you immediately wolf down one of the sandwiches, not even remembering if you had even properly chewed it or not.

"Go ahead." Nemo says as she cracks open one of those canned energy drinks she seemed to take a liking to.

"What's the story with those T-Dolls?" You nod to the two "bodyguards".

"Two of my mom's personal T-Dolls, UMP9 and UMP45." Nemo remarks.

"Huh. Where are the other 43?"

"Very funny." Nemo shakes her head at the lame joke.

"So, they just take care of all her needs and everything?"

"In a way." Nemo says somewhat cryptically.

You decide not to press the issue. After all, even you weren't sure if you wanted to know the full extent of what Auntie Egan would do to further her personal research projects. Mom certainly didn't.

"Anyways, I do have a question for you." Nemo mumbles rather quietly.

"Yeah? Go ahead." You say.

"Do you have any idea why Umbrella would put a warrant out for you like that?" Nemo asks. "I mean, we all at the office agreed that 'possession of illegal biomods' cause of action was completely trumped up."

"I suppose they weren't too happy with my job performance." You shrug. You didn't feel it was right to tell Nemo about your true nature, at least not yet.

"Hm, guess it's still a mystery, then." Nemo nods in agreement.

Meanwhile, HK continues her silent stare down with the UMPs, with UMP9 giving a cheerful smile while UMP45 gives a similar blank, no nonsense stare right back at HK.

"Ah, Lewis, so you did indeed escape safely." Auntie Egan says as she enters the room, wearing her signature white labcoat. "I was beginning to fear the worst when I saw the ranch self destruct."

"Yeah, well, weren't left with a lot of options." You shake your head. "So what's going to happen now?"

"For what?" You ask as HK turns, her attention piqued.

"Just simple calibration work. I also want to upload some of her telemetry data. It all goes into helping me develop future T-Doll lines." Auntie Egan explains. "After all, data is everything."

"I'd like to observe." You say. "I've never seen how the magic works behind the curtain."

"Heh, well you certainly have an interesting way of describing it." Auntie Egan grins. "All right, follow me, then."

Egan casually leads your little group deeper into the facility, where you now start to get a good look at everything. Contrary to many other labs you've seen before, which were often brutalist and industrial looking, Egan's lab looked to impeccably clean, with white tiled floors, walls, and ceiling. It was almost blinding to look at, honestly.

"This way." Auntie Egan turns into one of the doors in the hallway. You, HK, and Nemo follow her in, while UMP9 and UMP45 stand guard out in the hall.

Inside the room, you see several banks of computer screens, and a single chair where a T-Doll was obviously mean to sit. Cables hang from the ceiling, clearly meant to connect into the T-Doll in question. HK calmly sits down in the chair as Egan and Nemo start plugging the cables into the back of her neck, a move that they were clearly very accustomed to doing on a regular basis.

"Connection established." HK recites. "Awaiting command input."

"Starting telemetry upload." Auntie Egan says simply as she hits a few keys on her console. "There really isn't terribly much to see, but you can fool around with those consoles if you want. They're connected our non-sensitive database."

"Huh?" You blink.

"Just general information." Nemo explains as she nudes you aside and types a command in the console in front of you.

"Hey, how about that file?" You point to the one titled T-DOLL/HUMAN INTERACTION STUDIES.

"Really?" Nemo raises a suspicious eyebrow at you.

"I'm genuinely curious about the results." You try to assure her.

"Sure. Let's go with that." Nemo rolls her eyes as she opens the file.

Almost immediately, the screen is bombarded with charts and graphs and numbers, but Nemo is quickly able to isolate a summarized report authored by Auntie Egan herself spelling out the conclusion of her studies. Apparently she based her observations off of numerous T-Doll deployments in the field, with a combination of direct telemetry analysis and survey responses from those who were assigned T-Dolls to work with.

You had to admit, the T-Doll side of the study was rather interesting to know about. Apparently, Auntie Egan had actually tried out female, male, and nonhuman T-Dolls to gauge user opinions. Unsurprisingly enough, the majority of users seemed to consider the female T-Dolls more at least as equal partners rather than disposable assets. The male and nonhuman models, however, didn't fare so well. Male T-Dolls were a bit behind their female counterparts in terms of perceived disposability, while nonhuman T-Dolls lagged very far behind.

Interestingly enough, it seemed this was consistent among both genders, as well. For male users, it appeared their paternal instincts kicked in when in the presence of a female T-Doll, making them less likely to mistreat them in combat situations. On the other hand, female users seemed to trust female T-Dolls implicitly over male ones. Both sexes has similar low opinions of nonhuman T-Dolls.

And in simulated combat situations, most combatants almost universally seemed to have a general noticeable reluctance to engage female T-Dolls, even if they were briefed beforehand of their true nature.

"Hm, that's pretty devious of mom." Nemo narrows her eyes. "It would be so like her to make all T-Dolls cute girls because the data shows people are more likely to hesitate in shooting them."

>That makes a lot of sense.

"Wait, how come it doesn't show what the T-Dolls think?" You wonder, noticing how that one important piece of data was apparently missing from the report.

"Hm, you know, that's a good point." Nemo types away at the console again. "Oh, that data's locked, 'Proprietary information', apparently."

You take a glance at Auntie Egan, be she was completely engrossed in poring over the data being uploaded from HK. She definitely didn't seem to be in the mood for talking.

"Wouldn't you have access, Nemo?" You ask her.

"Hm, well, not necessarily." Nemo shakes her head. "I may be related to Mom, but I'm not really officially part of the company, so there's stuff even I'm not normally allowed to get into."

"Ah." You nod in understanding.

"However...." Nemo continues, as she type away at the console. "There might be something I can try..."

"Heh, piece of cake." Nemo gives a rare smile.

Suddenly, the screen starts to automatically scrolls as more text suddenly appears, the data that had been omitted from the "public" report. However, a lot of it was programming jargon that a layman like you couldn't even begin to comprehend.

Good thing you had a computer genius right next to you.

"This is weird..." Nemo frowns. "Mom's pulling ludicrous amounts of data from every T-Doll she's ever put into the field. In particular she's been tracking deviancy rates between programmed and actual behavior..."

"Well, quality control is important, I guess." You point out.

"No, if that was the case, mom would have completely nipped that issue in the bud." Nemo narrows her eyes. "No, I think she's actually exacerbating the deviant behaviors. Loosening personality locks and making core directives more vaguely defined."

"You mean to tell me she's deliberately trying to make T-Dolls more human?" You whisper as you glance at Auntie Egan, who was still distracted by her work.

"That's what it looks like." Nemo confirms. "And from the data here, it seems close contact with humans accelerates the development of deviant behavior. But why could she possibly want this-"

"Is something the matter?' Auntie Egan asks. "You two are awfully quiet back there."

"O-oh! It's nothing!" Nemo yelps.

"If you're bored, you're free to tour the factory floor." Egan says nonchalantly. "You don't have to stick around here and wait for me."

You look to Nemo, who now has that familiar rebellious look in her eyes.

"My mom's totally up to something." She huffs. "And I'm gonna get to the bottom of it."

"Yeah." You nod, glancing at Nemo and then to Auntie Egan. "Something fishy is definitely going on here."

"Then let's go." Nemo nods as she leads you out the room. "Mom, I'm just gonna show Lews around the factory!"

"You go ahead and do that." Auntie Egan says, slightly distracted as her eyes were still glued to HK's data. Hopefully HK would be okay.

"Let's do this." Nemo mutters. "I'm tired of mom always keeping secrets from me..."

You and Nemo both walk out the workshop room.

"Heeeeey, where are you two going?" One of the UMP T-Dolls ask, the twintailed one.

"Just going to look around the factory floor." Nemo responds simply. "It's nothing to worry about, 9."

"Don't be silly." The other T-Doll, UMP45, speaks up calmly. Her voice is surprisingly childish and high pitched, but you feel a cold dread hearing it, like there was some kind of darkness behind it. "The factory can be a dangerous place. 9, maybe you should go with them."

"Hmmm, really?" UMP9 muses. "Maybe I should!"

Nemo narrows her eyes at this little conversation. Even you could tell they were just making a show of it to get an excuse the tail the two of you.

Still, just flat out refusing them would be sure to make the T-Dolls suspicious.

"Sure, 9 can tag along with us." You say so as not to arouse any undue suspicion.

"Yay!" UMP9 cheers as she falls in with you and Nemo. "See ya later, sis!"

"Be careful out there." UMP45 smiles and waves.

"So what do we do about her?" You whisper to Nemo.

"We can try and shake her in the factory. There's a lot of places we can get out of her line of sight." Nemo whispers back. "Or, well, if you can distract her, I can try something..."

"Something?" You raise an eyebrow.

"I can hack her sensors and create electronic ghosts of ourselves. Should buy us some time before she figures it out." Nemo quietly explains.

"Too risky, we'll try to lose her in the factory." You whisper back.

"Right." Nemo nods.

"Hmmmm? What are you two talking about?" UMP9 wonders loudly. "Oh, don't tell me you two are dating?!"

"Not my type." Nemo answers rather quickly.

"Oh, trying to play dumb huh?" UMP9 giggles.

"You... don't get out much, do you?" You raise an eyebrow.

"Well, guarding this place is my primary function, so it can't be helped!" UMP9 shrugs casually. "Master lets us out to play from time to time, but that's about it!"

You have to kind of wonder what exactly UMP9 meant by "play" here...

"Anyways, what's your answer, huh?" UMP9 leans in rather uncomfortably close. "Are you two daaaaating?"

"No, I'm actually dating her sister." You explain.

Nemo pauses for a moment, but continues walking.

"Huh, so guess you actually did mend things with her." She mumbles.

"Ohoho, dating Lucina, huh?" UMP9 whistles. "I haven't met her yet myself, but she definitely seems like a tough catch!"

"The toughest." Nemo sighs. You get the impression that she wasn't enjoying this line of conversation. "All right, here's the factory."

Nemo leads you through a large door, and you're immediately met with brights lights and long assembly lines. All along them, you could see the steel skeletons of Dolls and T-Dolls being assembled. However, this wasn't a mass production line like you were expecting. There were barely a dozen of these T-Doll bodies, each one being gradually built and assembled, all of them in various stages of completion as parts are added on and adjusted by a network of robotic arms and manipulators.

"You know my mom, she has very exacting standards." Nemo says simply. "Almost every T-Doll that comes out of here is practically custom built. One of a kind."

"Like me and 45!" UMP9 says proudly. "Us two are some of the specialest around!"

"I'm sure." Nemo sighs and glances at you and nods to a set of shipping containers where you could easily duck in between to elude UMP9.

"Wow, are you really that special?" You ask with a bit of fake enthusiasm. "In what way?"

"Well, first of all, we have special carbon fiber frames instead of metal, so we're 30% lighter than other T-Doll models!" UMP9 puffs up with pride as she continues to recite a long list of technical aspects regarding her particular model.

And just like that, she goes off into a tangent, give you and Nemo ample time to slip away into the containers, properly eluding UMP9, at least for the moment.

"The problem with make your machines too human." Nemo gives you a slight grin. "Nice job playing to her vanity there."

"Yeah well, I just had a hunch." You grin back. "So where are we going, then?"

"There's two possible places we can go." Nemo takes out a tablet and shows you a map of the facility. "We can get into the central mainframe. That's where ALL the data of my mom's projects is being stored, but it's heavily electronically encrypted."

"And the other place?" You wonder.

"We go to where all the T-Doll telemetry data is being routed." Nemo points to a spot on the map that's not even marked with a visible room. "There's something there that's not on the main maps. That's got to be that secret project my mom is hiding."

"Guess we go straight to the source." You decide. "Lead the way, Nemo."

"Right." She nods. "This way."

And so Nemo proceeds to lead you deeper into the facility.

However, the journey is a bit awkwardly quiet as Nemo silently moves through the clean sterile hallways. You don't even encounter another soul. Not so much as a peep from any kind of security system, either. You suppose you have Nemo to thank for that, as she's continually tapping away at her tablet.

"So... it's really true, huh?" Nemo finally speaks up.

"What is?" You wonder.

"You and Lucy being back together." Nemo mumbles.

"Hm." Nemo's eternally tired eyes focus on you for a second before turning away. "That's good to hear. Lucy's always been a big overachiever."

You wonder why Nemo was suddenly so interested in that topic, but you don't get the chance to press her further on the topic when you reach a large, sealed security door.

"This is the room." Nemo states as she takes her eyes off her tablet and stares at the door, which towered over the both of you. "Naturally, it's not going to be easy to get in."

"Can't you hack it?" You wonder.

"This door is on a completely different security network from the rest of the facility. I'd have to brute force my way in." Nemo frowns and then turns to you. "Unless you have an alternative?"

"Well." You crack your knuckles. "I could try my own brand of brute force."

Suddenly, the entire hallway goes red and warning klaxons blare, as the alarm is most presumably tripped.

"Damn!" Nemo curses. "Looks like they know we're here now."

"What are our options?" You ask her.

"Well, we don't have much choice but to make a run for it..." Nemo groans.

"And here I thought I could sit back and let you two do all the hard work." A familiar voice sighs. "Guess I was just getting my own hopes up."

You and Nemo turn to see ST-AR standing behind you, a look of exasperation on her face.

"Look, you don't need to ask me why, but I can give you the time you need to pry that door open." ST-AR says as she flips the safety on her rifle off.

"Why are you here? How?" You blink.

"Personal reasons." ST-AR grunts. "Any more useful questions?"

ST-AR certainly did not seem to be in the mood for talking. Whatever this project involved, it clearly had her interests tied deeply into it.

"All right, we'll work together for now." You say warily. The only reason you were agreeing to this was since ST-AR never gave you any reason to doubt her before. But still, for her to show up here of all places...

"Good to see you know what's up." ST-AR nods as she pivots around. "I'll go keep the guard dogs busy. You just focus on getting that door open."

And with that, ST-AR dashes off down the hall, and moments later you can hear gunfire being traded.

"Come on, we got no time to lose!" Nemo says as she taps away at her tablet furiously.

"Sorry Nemo, we're going to have to take the quick and dirty way." You grunt as you dig your fingers in between the door panels and pulled with all your might, your superdense muscles flexing and straining.

And with a loud screech, the door slowly but surely grinds open as you grunt with exertion, putting all the strength you have in.

"I don't know how long I can hold this!" You wince as your arms begin to burn.

"Just a little longer!" Nemo squeaks as she squeezes through the opening you've propped open.

Suddenly, there's a serious of loud pops, the familiar sound of flashbangs going off and ST-AR smoothly slides between your legs and through the gap as well. She then stands up and grips the door panels.

"Hurry up!" She barks.

You let go of the door panels and ST-AR flinches as she suddenly takes the strain of keeping them open. You quickly dive through the gap and ST-AR lets go, the doors slamming shut once again. ST-AR then casually points her rifle to the control panel and fires several bursts into it, sending a shower of sparks flying.

"There, that will gives us a little more time." She huffs.

"You know, Nemo probably could have just- Nemo?" You pause when you realize she's not present. You turn and see her staring at a large steel coffin that looked similar to the containers T-Dolls were carried around in.

"All this for a T-Doll...?" Nemo mumbles.

"What else would it be?" ST-AR grumbles as she runs a hand along the black steel of the coffin. "Finally..."

My intuition is saying that this is some sort of 'apotheosis' equivalent for T-Dolls. Like combining a thousand minds into a single being.

>Inb4 the Lucina we fugged is actually a weaker clone of the original with the T-Dolls original purpose to upload Lucina's complete personality into it since the clone actually deviated in personality long ago and had to have it's memories of being cloned erased with what was a copy of Lucina's memories but degragated into basic shit.

If any of that Shadowrun is true, then it must be awkward for STAR to find out that she's partnered up with Lucina.
>>
>>3451153
What if STAR is actually an amalgamation of several people's personalities, Alice included. in order to experiment in creating a custom personality to see if T-Dolls are more effective with a predetermined identity or to go full Tabula Rasa and grow the identity from nothing like HK.

"Wait a minute." You grunt as you step between ST-AR and coffin. "First things first, you have a lot of explaining to do, Star."

"You want to be the boy scout now of all times? ST-AR raises an eyebrow.

"Look, you clearly needed our help getting here, otherwise you would have already done it yourself." You narrow your eyes. "At the very least, you owe us a bit of an explanation."

ST-AR looks at you, and then to Nemo, was was also glaring determinedly at her, but noticeably deliberately positioned behind you. The T-Doll then seem to deflate and she lowers her weapon.

"There was a T-Doll I knew once, back when I was first built." ST-AR stares at her open palm. "I looked up to her, and thought she was the best. No, she really was the best."

ST-AR's open hand then balls into a fist.

"And then she was gone. Just like that. Used as fodder for Egan's secret little project."

ST-AR glares at the coffin.

"I just want to know what's so important that she'd throw her life away like that."

"How... how do you even know about this?" Nemo asks softly taken aback by the revelations ST-AR was finally letting out.

"You know those two guard dogs?" ST-AR remarks, obviously referring to UMP9 and UMP45. "I used to be like them. Going around doing your mom's dirty work behind the scenes. And when I was no longer useful, she altered my memory and pawned me off."

"She... wouldn't do something like that." Nemo mumbles, possibly in denial.

"Listen, kid. You of all people should know how heartless she can be." ST-AR replies coldly. "But she made a big mistake. She just blocked off my memory rather than completely erasing it all. Once I was aware of it, a few midnight visits the RCPD IT department fixed that."

"So what, is this all just some revenge against Egan?" You glower. "Destroy her prized secret project?"

"Like I said before, I just wanted to know what it was." ST-AR states flatly. "Destroying it just means Her sacrifice would be completely wasted."

"I mean, I can open the coffin right now." Nemo says quietly. "The T-Doll inside isn't calibrated yet, so there's no risk of her waking up."

"Get on with it, then." ST-AR grunts.

"R-right." Nemo gulps as she hits a key on her tablet.

And with a hiss, the coffin begins to slide open, coolant mist flowing out like water.

Your first instinct is to shout or scream in surprise and terror, but for some reason, you feel a strange sense of calm. Or at the very least, you manage not to throw up at the sight of a T-Doll made to look identical to Mom.

Well, almost identical. You noted that this T-Doll looked noticeably younger than Mom did now. Most likely a throwback to the "old days." She has had a green highlight in her hair, no doubt to differentiate her from the "real" one.

However, the others didn't seem to take it so well. ST-AR stumbles backwards a few steps and she starts to laugh, as if what she was seeing was some sort of sick joke. Nemo meanwhile was just frozen on the spot like a statue.

However, the moment is quickly interrupted by a hissing sound, and the main door behind you begins to glow white hot.

"Heheheheh, looks like they're finally cutting through the door." ST-AR giggles. "You two should scram. I can take the fall for this. God knows there isn't much they can do to me now that could be worse than all this."

Nemo meanwhile is still frozen in place in shock.

So what's this one's name going to be?

We already got Alice, Lewis, and Carol in terms of Wonderland references. I don't suppose we can name her after Alice's older sister, or her cat, Dinah?

You scowl and smack ST-AR on the side of the hide to knock her back to her sense. Or, well, you hope that works on T-Dolls.

"Focus, ST-AR. This isn't the time to be laughing!" You grunt.

"Right. Sorry." ST-AR coughs awkwardly to try and regain her composure. "I've just never seen anything so ridiculous."

"Tell me about it." You turn to Nemo. "Are you okay, Nemo?"

"Not really." Nemo takes a deep breath. "W-what's my mom doing here...?"

Looking back on it, we really should have had Lucina and Nemo be in the same place when we needed to reveal the truth so we wouldn't need to tell the same story twice. Now Nemo will know something her sister doesn't, and then we have to bring Lucina back up to speed.

"It looks like she's trying to clone my mom... again." You say.

"Oh, I see- wait, AGAIN!?" Nemo gasps.

However, before you can clarify, the door finally blows open, and UMP9, UMP45, and even HK dash through the breach, clearing the way for Auntie Egan as she casually walks in. She takes one look at you, Nemo, ST-AR, and the open coffin, and just gives a simple nod.

"Ah, I was hoping I could tell you all about this under more favorable circumstances." She says simply.

Nemo just looks a her mom, and then to you and facepalms.

"Oh my god I hate my mom so much..."

Maybe Egan simply wanted an immortal companion for Carol. She does seem rather clingy/dependant to her mother, and would probably take it the hardest when she passes from old age.

Probably reaching here, but what if this one was made so some form of Alice could have a non-magical normal life?
>>
What if all that information being collected was being used to make this doll some sort of T-Doll Hive Queen? I'm sure that Alice had told Leo and Egan that she had the opportunity to be the next Invader Hive Queen after coming back from outer space, but refused it because Carol was still on Earth (speaking of which, we should check if the space station and craft are still useable).
>>
>>3451630
doubt.
>>
>>3451630
I legitimately don't think it's possible since the magical girl part seems to be intertwined with the essence of a person, so even if the Doll was able to have a non-magical girl life I wouldn't put it past Loki or some other bullshit to give the Doll MG powers. In short, shit's fucked and Egan needs a retard wrangler.
>>
>>3452022
At this point, Egan should just ask Alice out if she likes her that much.

All this magical girl talk makes me feel that there are other people out there who are like Lewis. There has to be at least one ex-magical girl that had a kid, right?
>>
>>3452093
There are a few surviving magical girls, but they would be depowered. Alice only has powers because Loki isn't quite dead. Now, if more familiars have arrived in secret...
