>>Welcome back to Brass Companions! Last time we met Kanard, the son of a horse breeder, as he joined up with the famed mercenary company known as the Brass Companions. We saved one of our brothers in arms from death after he was ambushed by a trio of goblins, and tracked down and slaughtered the foul greens. One of the company’s captains was able to extract the location of a goblin nest and our squad was tasked with dispatching it.

>>Let’s get started!

>—————————————

The home of the nest was quite a ride from the inn you’ve been calling home, deep into the poorer district and on the very edge of the city. Sigmund had requisitioned another cart, this one crammed with two additional squads instead of the comfortable pillows of the last wagon. No one spoke on the ride, each man preparing for the battles that may be about to face, though Sergeant Demos’ squad looked excited at the prospect of killing goblins from the nest that wounded their friend. The two extra squads fanned out once the cart rolled to a stop. One heading into the forests beyond the rear of the house and the other heading down the block. Both of them would be in position to catch any goblins fleeing the home.

The thin wooden door cracks and splinters from a single one of Sigmund’s kicks. The six of you pour into the hovel and find the flooring torn up. Small rickety ladders descend into a root cellar beneath the main floor. Optra nods to the hole and Payter and Nurmen quickly drop down. “Clear!” Payter calls a moment later. You and Sandon go next, landing heavily on the dirt below. Optra and Sigmund follow a moment later. Before you sits a gaping hole in the earth, carved from one of the walls and part of the floor. The mouth of the recently dug cave sloped gently down into subterranean darkness. The floor is littered with bones, some human and some animal, that crunch under your boots. Small torches hang around the mouth of the tunnel unlit, only the daylight seeping in through the open door upstairs illuminates the dank cellar.

Sigmund glares at the hole in the earth. “Suppose we’re heading that way, then. Move out!” He snatches up one of the torches and, tucking his polearm under his armpit, retrieves flint and ignites it. The darkness of the tunnel hungrily devours the light, letting you see no more than twenty feet ahead of yourself. The tunnels were low enough that you had to crane your neck and the taller members of your squad, especially the sergeant and captain, had to stoop down. Sigmund led the way, followed by Payter nervously wringing the handle of his axe, next came Nurmen who looked bored with this whole situation. You followed behind Nurmen, with Sandon and Optra following behind you.

You scan the walls of the tunnels, it seems like the goblins had dug this section by hand. The six of you move in total silence beyond the scuffing of boots on gravely soil. After another hundred feet the tunnel widens into a larger and more natural looking formation.

Here the small goblin-made torches hang from perches on the wall and light the pathways. “Industrious little bastard. Must’ve dug their way into town.” Nurmen whispers, drawing a shushing from Payter. Sigmund glances back at you all with a smirk and presses on. You follow, your mace and shield gripped tightly, until the tunnel widens into a round cave. Sigmund quickly drops his torch and stamps the life from it, both hands slipping back to his strange polearm.

The tunnel’s exit is shrouded in cool darkness, light from behind you not bright enough to reach and the light from the cave ahead gently flickering against the dark. Sigmund lets out a hoarse whisper. “Two, maybe three dozen. Far side of the cave. They’re… they have three captives. Women. You can imagine.” You feel Sandon’s hand on your shoulder. “You ready?” He asks, his voice barely making a sound. You nod. “Payter and I will flank, seeing as we don’t have shields. Optra, take your two newest pups and push forward like a wall. Nurmen, follow behind the shieldwall and don’t let any greens stab us in the backs.”

There’s a quiet murmur of understanding as the six of you slip into the cave and into formation. Without the line ahead of you blocking your vision you can see the mass of goblins crowded around the three women. It’s not a pleasant sight and it only reaffirms your hatred for the vile little creatures. The horde is entirely distracted with their captives, each goblin vying for a turn. You take a moment to glance around the cave, a total of three tunnels feed into this one. One you came from and one on each side of the rounded chamber. You notice what looks like a fissure on the wall behind the goblins, big enough for a goblin to fit through. You could probably squeeze through it if you had to.

Optra stands between you and Sandon, each of you a few feet apart to give you all room to swing your weapons without hitting each other. Sigmund and Payter flit around the outer wall, getting in position. A nod passes between Optra and Sigmund and the captain unleashes a battlecry that reverberates through the chamber.

The goblins squeal and chitter in terror at the interruption to their ‘festivities’ and those at the back of the crowd are first to gather up their arms and turn to engage you. Eight goblins rush the three of you that comprise the shieldwall.

Another group breaks off from the crowd, maybe six of them. Sigmund and Payter intercept and you see Sigmund’s polearm whirling through them. Payter’s black-bladed axe rises in deadly arcs, cleaving through goblins like paper.

The eight of them headed for your group break into chunks as they draw near. Two circle Sandon as they test his guard, and the reach of his hammer. Three circle Optra, trying to find a way around his massive tower shield.

Three of the pre-teen sized creatures leap towards you, screeching and babbling in rage. One drags a club behind him, almost too heavy for him to lift. Another clutches a dagger, obviously stolen from a human as it’s nearly a sword in his hands. The third reminds you of the last goblin you fought, clutching a pair of sharpened bits of metal.

You grit your teeth as they fan out around you, trying to force an opening. Nurmen laughs darkly. “More! From the tunnels behind! I’ve got them!” You can’t spare to look and see how many he’s fighting.

You turn as best you can, the three goblins circling you like a pack of foul-smelling green wolves. The curse and spit in their mangled tongue, you can only imagine what foul things they may be saying. The one with the stolen dagger steps forward and you raise your shield to block its attack but it quickly falls back. You realize your mistake just a second too late. You spin around, trying to correct the angle of your shield to stop the heavy club.

You swear as the club connects with your elbow, just outside of the cover of your shield. You feel the bones click together as the joint depresses from the impact. Your arm sings with pain but your adrenaline forces you into action. You whip your injured arm outwards, swinging the shield like a bludgeon. The goblin leaps back with a shit-eating grin plastered on his face, thinking he dodged your retaliation.

What he doesn’t realize is Liar Biter hurtling towards him from behind the swinging shield. The spikes of the Morningstar happily find their target. The cold steel penetrates the goblin’s small skull like nails driven into soft wood. One of his eyeballs explode outward, replaced with a length of gore covered metal, for a single moment before the rest of the goblins Head is reduced to a thick, wet, pulp. Brains, teeth, and bits of Masha’s skull coat the cave floor. His headless corpse tumbles to the ground, still clutching the club and ready for another strike.

You easily side-step a pair of swipes from the stolen dagger wielding goblin, who squeaks nervously at the brutal beheading of his kin.

The third goblin steps in with his shoddily made daggers, you glide past his first strike and send another crushing blow hurtling towards him. He slips under your arm and unleashes a pair of stabs at your ribs. The blades bite into the mail hanging over your torso but find no purchase, leaving you unharmed from both of his frenzied strikes.

The dual-wielding goblin leaps back, fearing retaliation, but you’ve set your sights on the bigger threat.

Rippa charges towards you, long dagger held high above his head. He brings the blade down in an overhead arc. It’s too slow, you catch the blade on the rim of your shield and lift your arm, reversing the goblin’s swing. Liar Biter flashes out once more, catching Rippa on the hip. You feel the bones of his pelvis shatter under the heavy head of your morningstar. The spiked protrusions of your weapon rend the flesh on the small creature’s side and leave deep bleeding gouges as you wrench the weapon free.

To his credit, he makes another swipe at you as his legs crumble beneath him. You simply step backward out of his reach. With a flourish you spin the heavy spike club in your hand before lifting it high, stepping forward, and crushing the entire chest cavity of the wounded creature.

The final goblin screams in his gibberish language and rushes forward with another trio of strikes. All of them are wild, undisciplined, and easily avoided. You take your eyes off of the pitiful creature for just a moment as he retreats from his failed attack, checking on the rest of your squad.

Optra wears a grim smile as he pulls his long sword free from the intestines of a soon to have bleed to death goblin, another two corpses lay at his feet and it seems that several goblins moved to reinforce their brethren, as two more circle the heavy-set man.

Sigmund moves like a farmer scything grain, each swing of his polearm felling one of the goblins.

Payter, a cut across his cheek, strides through a nearly bisected corpse, looking for his next victim.

Sandon, all his years hammering metal, has turned his skills of creation into those of carnage. Bones splinter and flesh explodes under the powerful swings of his one-handed hammer.

Nurmen fares the worst, four corpses litter the ground around him but another six goblins circle him. The forehead of his helm is dented, one of the corpses lay next to a heavy club, and a cut across his stomach leaks blood into his linen shirt.

The main body of the goblins has formed ranks, trying to protect the team of goblins pulling the three screaming women back towards the fissure in the far wall. Ten goblins stand in a rough formation, prepared to meet the charge of your squad should you finish those currently engaging you all. Six drag the women, two clutching onto each girl.

You stare down the single goblin left before you, he falls silent and glares back at you. You both know only one of you is walking away from this, and the odds aren’t in his favor. It surprises you to see a goblin willing to stand and die like this, most would have fled not long after the first of the brutal deaths you’d dealt. Maybe that momentary distraction is what throws off your aim.

You step forward and bring Liar Biter down in another deadly arc. The goblin is quick, but not quick enough. He backpedals almost out of the reach of a swing that would have pulped his skull. Instead the heavy head and spikes of your morningstar pulverize the creatures foot. You feel one of the spikes glance off of the stone of the cave below Bita’s foot. You wrench the weapon free and send a diagonal swipe at his chest but he leaps backwards onto his good foot.

His retaliation is sloppy, distracted by the pain surging from his foot. You catch the pair of daggers on your shield and simply dance away from the two follow up strikes. He favors the injured leg, trying to keep as much weight off of it as possible and lets out a whimpering string of words.

You glance up, one of the women have disappeared through the fissure and a second is halfway through. Her arms seem to have gotten free and she’s clutching for dear life at the rough edges of the cracked rock, her panicked screams rising in pitch. Sigmund and Payter try to find a way through a wall of goblin spears to get to the women. Sigmund slices the tips off of as many of the spears as he can, while Payter hacks into the disarmed goblins.

Nurmen darts around goblin’s strikes as best he can, a second wound seeping from his chest, and another pair of goblins lay dead before him. Sandon moves to join him against the remaining four flanking goblins. Optra circles with a remaining goblin, the massive longsword he wields glittering red from a combination of blood and torchlight.

Goblin Bowling, writing!

>>After three phone calls with the internet people, here it is!

An idea dawns on you. A two birds, one stone kind of idea. You circle the goblin, waiting for an opening. He provides you with the perfect opportunity.

The small green creature positions himself nearer to the club of his fallen comrade. He drops the pair of crude daggers and makes a dive for the heavier weapon. You also drop your weapon and shield, for they would have interfered with your grand plan.

The goblin dives onto the club but before he can stand you’ve wrapped an arm around his torso. Your other hand grips tightly around his thigh. He twists and struggles, dropping the club with a heavy thud, trying to turn himself toward you. His viciously sharp teeth click as he tries to bite at the arm you have around him.

Before he can sink his teeth into your flesh, you launch into action. Pivoting your entire body you launch the flailing creature from your arms. He tumbles gracelessly through the air and directly into the line of spears covering the escape of the goblin’s with captives.

Several of the spear tips bury themselves in his flesh and their wielders find themselves unable to bear the weight of their impaled comrade.

The center of the line collapses, literally, from the screeching battering ram that landed amongst them. You hear Sigmund let out a hearty laugh, his shoulders rocking with joy. “Forward! While their formation is broken!”

Optra rushes forward, joining Payter and Sigmund through the breach your created. You glance back at Sandon and Nurmen, only a single goblin remains actively engaged with them. But pouring forth from the tunnel behind them is a group of four they seem unaware of. One of the four sports a scrap-metal chestplate and a long dagger he’s also slightly larger than the rest. Two wield sharpened hunks of metal, much like the goblin you just gave a good toss, the final wields a crude spear and a small wooden round shield.

You quickly fetch your discarded armaments as you decide which direction to head. After watching Sigmund leap over the tangle of goblins, toss his cross between a scimitar and a spear and impale a pair of goblins with it, before landing next to the fissure and trying to wrench the screaming woman from their grasp, you decide Nurmen and Sandon could use more help.

You reach them as Sandon’s hammer splinters the spine of the final goblin. He smirks at you for a moment before giving you a confused look. Nurmen doubles over, panting heavily from inside his dented helmet. “Could’ve handled them myself… just a few lucky hits on me, give me a second to catch my breath…” You shout a single word as warning. “Behind!” Sandon spins, bringing his shield up in just enough time to intercept the leap of one of the dual-wielding goblins. The creature smashes face first into the hard wood of the shield. You rush forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with your childhood friend.

“Is there no end to these damn things?!” Nurmen questions from behind you. Before he too joins you and Sandon. “Can’t catch a break!” He turns his head, the beak of his helmet aimed towards you. The goblins form a rough circle around the three of you. The largest one seems to bark orders at the rest of them. Up close, you notice that the four of them are larger than the previous group of goblins you faced, the largest almost the full height of man nearing adulthood.

“What’s the plan greenslayer?” Nurmen’s tone is marked with sarcasm but there’s a serious tone to it as well. You glance between your comrades and the encroaching goblins.

“I’ll take the big one. Nurmen, you take one of those dagger wielders. Sandon, take the other one and the one with the spear.” Nurmen grunts. “I won’t complain about an easy kill.” Sandon smirks. “Always giving me the hard work. Bet I can handle both of mine before you kill the big one.” You can’t help but smile back. “You’re on.”

Nurmen lashes out, forcing the goblins to break their semi-circle, and send another few attacks to isolate one of the dual wielders. You barrel forward at the biggest goblin, driving him back towards the mouth of the tunnel. Sandon sends a hammer swipe and interposes his body between the remaining pair of goblins and you and Nurmen.

The goblin that stands before you is ugly, even amongst an ugly species, a scar runs from the top of his head, over one of his eyes and down below his jaw. The scarred eye is a ruined pit that resonates hatred just as well as his good eye. He shouts in his foreign tongue, commanding his kin, all the while staring at you. You feel him sizing you up. His undamaged eye shines with a cruel intelligence uncommon in his kind. You ready yourself, tightening your grip on the haft of your morningstar and bringing your shield up in front of you. “Come on you filthy little bastard, just you and me.”The creature, though not able to understand your words, understands your intent and babbles back what you feel is an acceptance of your challenge.

Bone-Breaka acts first, he launches forward with a lunging strike, you bat the flat of his blade away with your shield without a second thought. He squawks angrily and redirects his blade into a second strike, a upwards diagonal chop. You can almost feel the cold metal of the blade against your thigh as you barely duck away in time. You feel sweat bead on your brow, that strike probably would’ve opened your leg to the bone. This goblin isn’t as useless as his underlings have proved to be so far.

You quickly return the favor, bringing your morningstar in a wide sideways arc, aimed at his upper chest. He foolishly tries to block, bringing his dagger up to turn the blow of your much heavier weapon. The blade makes contact with the haft of your weapon and does next to nothing to stop the momentum. The longest spike punches deep into his shoulder, you feel the reverbs of metal scraping bone for a split second, before the rest of the morningstar’s head comes crashing into him.

His torso buckles under the sudden impact, his flesh contorting to try and compensate for the shock. You carry through as far as you can before wrenching the weapon away from him. From the edge of his shoulder to half of his collarbone, his torso collapses in on itself. Muscles pull on shattered bone, filling the vacant spaces of flesh with a sucking squelch. His arm, sadly his offhand side, hangs completely limp and useless. His beedy eye bulges with pain, and he lets out a keening screech. He leaps back from a second swing you send towards him and wobbles on his feet slightly as he lands. He reaffirms his grip on his dagger and stares at you before conjuring up a wad of phlegm and launching it towards you. He speaks, in a pained tone, words you don’t understand. They sound grim, most likely threats.

You glance over at Sandon as he finishing a strike, jabbing with the broad head of his hammer and driving the air from the lungs, and probably fracturing several ribs, of the dual-wielding goblin. The second goblin’s shield looks ready to fall apart, having suffered at least one hit from a large hammer.

Nurmen, slowed by his wounds, seems to be locked in a stalemate. Both having scored glancing blows that did no real damage.

My total is, once you guys have finished off these reinforcements, 43 dead goblins. You killed 4 including this one. Nurmen killed 9 (including the one he’s facing now) Sandon killed 6. Optra killed 7, Payter another 7 and Sigmund 10.

If anyone’s curious, to save my sanity I’m not rolling every die for all of your squad. I have their weapons statted, I roll a roll for each of them and each enemy they’re facing. Whoever has the high roll deals damage up to the number of attack die they have. Sandon rolled consistently 80+, Sigmund was up there too. Optra fell off slightly at the end, Payter rolled well to average. Nurmen had the worst of the luck.

The two of you close for another trading of blows. Liar Biter darts out and surprisingly the goblin is able to twist his wrist and deflect the morningstar away from scoring any vital wounds.

He tries to quickly take advantage of the missed strike with a slash from his dagger but your shield, ever at the ready, catches the long and slender blade. You try an overhead chop but the goblin skitters to the side. He leaps forward with another lunge but you manage to slip out of his range.

You glance over, Nurmen buries his cleavers into the shoulders of the goblin the pair meeting in the middle of the Goblin’s chest.

Sandon having pulped the spear-wielder bears down on the final dual wielding goblin. You feel a rush of adrenaline, you’ve got to finish this fight before he does!

Instead of breaking apart the goblin sticks on you. You take advantage and send another swipe his way but he catches the haft of the morninstar again and turns it away. He rushes forward, getting inside your range, following up his lunge with another jab. You try to bring your shield down to protect his target, your thigh, but are a moment too slow. You feel a searing pain as the point of the dagger punches a hole not just through the leather of your pants but also the flesh underneath. You clench your teeth as you feel the blade exit the back of your leg. The goblin pushes down as he withdraws the blade, slicing the meat of your leg open.

The green bastard smirks as he tries to step backwards and away from you, but you will let not such thing happen. With a roar of pain and hatred you put everything you have behind another swing. Liar Biter finds purchase, the goblin having twisted awkwardly in his escape attempt. The morningstar crushes into Bone-Breaka just above his hip. It treats his scrap-metal chestplate like silk and compresses the metal into the creatures body. You feel his spine snap like a cord of rope, the protective bones around it buckling and turning to dust. You hit connects with so much force that for a moment, his collapsed shoulder pops back outwards before settling back in on itself.

He’s dead before he hits the ground, but that damn smirk still crosses his face. Out of pain, or anger, or both you take an unsteady step forward and bring the bludgeon down on the ugly goblin’s skull. It explodes into a shower of gore. You glance up at Sandon finishes his own fight. It seems you beat him by a single moment.

On the far end of the cave, Optra, Payter, and Sigmund stand admits a pile of corpses. Two women sit naked at their feet, terrified beyond words. Nurmen has already begun to trek to them and Sandon motions with his head that he’ll meet you there. You follow Nurmen with a slight limp, blood flowing from the wound on your leg.

Sigmund smirks as you approach. “Lets get that leg bandaged, and those slashes on Nurmen. You, Nurmen, and Payter need to finish the job. Two of the greens slipped through the fissure with the third captive, you three are the only ones who’ll fit.” Optra pulls a small pouch tucked inside of his armor and makes his way to you and Nurmen, intent on tending to your wounds. “If they escape with that woman, we could have Hobgoblins on our hands in no-time.”

Writing! I’ll include a line to Optra about alerting the other teams.

Optra motions for you to sit back on a small stone outcropping. You ease back, taking weight off of your injured leg feels like pure bliss. Optra huffs out a breath as he examines the wound. “Definitely need to see the surgeon when we get back, it’s a deep one.” He pulls open the small pouch, revealing a roll of thick linen bandages and what looks like a small water-skin. “This may be… discomforting for a moment, but this paste will deaden the pain and stop the bleeding. It will prevent you from getting any worse, at least.” You nod and clench your jaw.

Optra opens the mouth of the small water-skin and presses it to your entry wound. The pressure brings a fresh bout of pain surging up your leg. The large man squeezes gently, coaxing the fluid from its vessel. You feel a thick and slimy sensation along the torn edges of your skin, then they’re suddenly replaced with the feeling of fire being pressed to the wound. He repeats the process for the blade’s exit wound, giving you a look of remorse the entire time. Once he finishes applying the gel he unspools a length of the linen bandage and tightly binds your leg. As he works on the wrapping you speak up, you voice cracking slightly from the residual pain of whatever it was he applied to your wounds. “Should we send someone back up? To warn the two other squads?”

Optra nods, not looking up from his work. “That is an excellent idea. Should that fissure lead to further caves, the caves will eventually lead to the surface. We’ll have our reinforcements comb the surface for that entrance.” He finishes his work and looks up at you, meeting your eyes. “Should whatever lays beyond that fissure prove too much for the three of you… do not be afraid to be afraid. Turn tail and run. I’d rather fight a half dozen hobgoblins than lose a single one of my men. Especially one who fought so well today.” He gives you a warm smile as he stands and turns to tend to Nurmen’s wounds. Optra motions to Sandon. “Catch your breath for a few seconds, then sprint up and tell our friends that there will be stragglers and to search for the mouth of a cave to the south of the city. Join them in their search.”

Sandon joins you on the rock, taking his moment to rest. “So… I think I won the bet. You might’ve killed yours a breath quicker, but did you see me? I got to get extra points for style, don’t I?” He nods down at your leg. “Plus I didn’t get stuck like Gregor did, remember that time we snuck into that hunter’s shack a half days walk from the village because Jakob swore the hunter had gallons of booze?” He laughs, and you can’t help but laugh either. The image of Gregor dangling from the rafters of the shack and the hunter poking him in the calves with an semi-sharp arrow.

>>Sandon friendship greatly increased!

You look over at the man you’d grown up with, he awaits your response eagerly. “It wasn’t for coin, so I guess you take it this time because of those style points.” He laughs and slaps you on the shoulder. “You always were a good sport. I’m glad we ended up here, able to watch each other’s backs.” You nod. “Better me than Gregor or Jakob, right?” He laughs again. “Better you than any of the others from our little gang.”

He glances over at Optra as he finishes binding the wounds on Nurmen’s chest. “Better get going though, meet you on the other side.” He offers you a hand to help you rise which you take. He pulls you to your feet and gives you a final smirk before disappearing into the tunnel back to the surface.

Payter waits for the two of you by the fissure, Sigmund and him chatting idly. Sigmund turns to you and Nurmen as you approach. “The sergeant and I will hold this area, just in case any more green lurks down those two other paths. We’ll make sure you have a safe area to retreat to, in case there’s a horde like this on the other side. Be safe, be smart, be victorious. A fair sack of gold awaits each of you at the inn after this. Don’t let your share line my pockets by getting yourself killed.” He smirks and pats Payter on the back, a gentle push towards the fissure.

Payter leads the way and you follow close behind him with Nurmen bringing up the rear. The rough walls are claustrophobic to say the least. Payter has to walk sideways, his broad shoulders too wide to walk straight only his height giving him enough room to move at all. You and Nurmen have less trouble, being built more lithe, but you scrap yourself on the tight constraints of the tunnel more than once at there are several points where you have to work to squeeze through smaller gaps. The fissure is maybe only fifty feet deep but it takes the three of you some time to navigate it.

Finally, some light bleeds through the end of this tunnel, worming its way around Payter. Torchlight, judging from the flickering quality of it.
>>
You follow Payter out of the fissure into a large open cave. You are immediately thankful to be free of the constricting confines of the fissure. The chamber before you, though empty now, must have been the goblin’s main nest. Dozens of clumps of leaves, stolen pillows, and cushions form rough beds across the empty cavern.

You heft your morningstar and the three of you fan out, waiting for an ambush. The room is silent beyond you and your companion’s footfalls, and nothing moves before you.

The far wall of the cave opens into two black tunnels, like a pair of malevolent eyes watching the three of you advance. A shrill scream echos from the left tunnel, you’re unsure if it’s the scream of the capture woman or a goblin.

Nurmen looks to you and Payter. “Should we split up? If only one of those other big bastards could’ve fit with us. Much rather split two and two.”

Payter nods, his eyes continuously scanning the area between you all and the tunnels. “I’m in the best shape though, I can go it alone and the two of you can stick together. It might be a trap though, it’s hard to tell with sound in tunnels like these.”

You step over a bundle of pillows stained with blood, trying to get a better look at the tunnels. It seems like the torches around the mouth of the right tunnel have been disturbed, one of them knocked from the wall and the other hanging limply.

“Someone passed through that passage on the right. The left might be an ambush or it might be the right way. The two of you take the left, if it is an ambush, you’ll need the numbers. I’ll take the right, maybe they’ll loop back on each other and we’ll meet up further in.” Payter gives you a look. “You sure? I didn’t take a hit, your leg..” You shake your head. “I’ve got this, I'll take it slow and if I get in over my head, I’ll fall back. I can slip through the fissure with my shield blocking most of my body.” Payter nods. “Fair enough, try and give us a shout if you do fall back, so we know we might have a handful of goblins coming up our asses.” Nurmen glances between the two tunnels and speak, being oddly genuine. “Might as well get moving. Good luck Kanard.” Payter adds. “Gods watch your path, guide your blade, give you strength.” You nod your head out of respect. Recognizing the chant from missionaries that visited your village frequently. The Cult of Shal-Torl. It seems Payter hails from Dumaria, your homeland’s westward neighbor across the mountain ranges of the Wall.

The pair of them slowly pick their way through the empty beds, heading towards the the left tunnel. You lost sight of them as you head into the mouth of the right.

The torches are more scarce, which forces you to creep along through extended patches of darkness. Near one of the torches you find a gold bangle, the bracelet snapped in two pieces. It’s placement is almost deliberate, being in one of the few spots of visibility.

Soon enough you hear labored breathing, the breaths are too frequent to be coming from a single source. Your eyes grow as accustom to the darkness as possible, and soon enough you see them. Goblins pant as they work against the weight of their captive. The woman dangles between the pair of goblins, it seems she’s passively resisting them by letting herself be dead weight. They’re too far away for you to rush up on them, they’d hear you coming. You try to close the distance as best as you can but eventually lose sight of them as the tunnel snakes around a bend.

When you finally round the bend yourself, the trio is gone and before you lays three separate tunnels. You pause, trying to figure out which way they could have gone.

Your sense of smell alerts you first, meat being roasted. You try not to wonder what kind of meat as your stomach gurgles at the scent. The right-most tunnel has the strongest scent of cooking.

Then a blast of wind from the left-most tunnel hits you, the air super-heated. It reminds you of Sandon and his Father’s forge on the cool winter nights of your boyhood.

Finally, your ears perk up. Sound gently echoes from the center path. Something smooth sliding and scrapping across stone and a faint hissing. Your skin crawls at the possible source of such a noise.

You search for any clues the woman may have left but find none.

Logic dictates that they’d follow the food so you do the same. You creep down the tunnel that heads to the right, the delightful smells of cooking meat growing stronger with each step.

Soon enough you pick up tracks, two pairs of them flanking drag marks. You’re more than willing to bet that you picked the right path.

The back of your mind churns. This cave is pretty extensive, did you all manage to wipe out the main force of goblins or could there be another horde stalking these dark passages?

Soon enough the tunnel starts to widen, slowly opening up into another cave. You stay hidden in the shadows of the tunnel, taking stock of the situation.

A large metal pot sits bubbling over a roaring cook fire, the pot big enough for three or four grown men to be submerged in.

Ten goblins stand in a line, facing the pot with their backs to you. A voice speaks from out of sight, the voice kind and soft yet measured. “So hungry, all of you. Come to papa’s kitchen looking for scraps? You know the stew won’t be ready for another few hours.” The source of the voice is moving, coming closer to you. The goblins chitter excitedly and the voice chitters back. A chill runs down your spine, no man can speak the language of golbins. Your quarry seems to have moved beyond the room, the trio no where in sight.

Soon enough he comes into view. Sallow, grey-green skin. He stands close to your height but is cloaked with massive amounts of fatty flesh. He waddles from behind the pot, clutching a handful of small vials. He distributes one to each goblin. “Papa Geral will give you all a little something special.” You recognize the corpulent creature as an oversized hobgoblin. The cross-breed between man and goblin, the fusion of the worst of both races.

You watch in horrid fascination as the goblins drink from the vials. One immediately wrenches over in pain, squealing as blood seeps from his eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Geral simply hoists the small creature and tosses him into the pot, the boiling liquid splashing Geral. The hobgoblin pays no mind to the sudden heat, nor the blisters that begin forming upon his hide. He intently focuses on the remaining goblins.

They all undergo changes, some’s skin turning thick and calloused. Some have their muscles explode in size and shape. Some grow taller and leaner. One seems to have all three affects, growing to the height and build of a strong man with skin thicker than the leather upon your legs.

The hobgoblin, satisfied, speaks in the goblin tongue to them before slipping back into your own language. “The men who killed our brothers will be coming soon, best head to the entry tunnels and defend them.”

>cont
>>
>>3418187
The goblins file out, quickly trying to adjust to the changes their bodies had suffered, through the only other exit to this cave. One on the far side of the pot. Geral simply turns back to his pot, clutching a large wooden handle jutting from the fluid and stirring it. He hums a tune you recognize, it’s something most parents in the region sing to their children to put them to sleep.

He turns suddenly and waddles over to a low wooden table. A large cleaver, easily as tall as he is, rests upon it. He reaches out of sight and pulls the corpse of a deer, already skinned and cleaned, up and onto the wooden surface. With a single chop, albeit a slow and sloppy one, from the cleaver the deer’s body is split in two. He continues to hum and he carries the halves over to his pot.

You try to weigh your options.

>>Try and go back to find Nurmen and Payter. A hobgoblin is no joke.

>>Try to sneak by, the woman and her two goblin captors is getting further away.

>>Try and sneak up on it and kill it. You can’t waist time back tracking and you don’t want to get caught sneaking by, best to kill it and be done with it.

Okay, since you got a successful sneak attack, I’ll need two attack rolls with the morningstar, so 2d100.

There’s no time to waste, best kill this big bastard and be done with it. A good surprise attack and you should be able to majorly cripple him, if not outright kill him. A hobgoblin isn’t much hardier than a man, if the stories you heard are true.

You slowly creep forward, staying low taxes your leg wound but you ignore the dull ache that forms as you creep through the kitchen-cave. Geral happily stares into the bubbling stew, stirring and occasionally pausing to taste the foul brew, oblivious to your presence.

You stick to the edge of the cave as you pass between barrels stuffed of vegetables, dried meats, and water. You near the low table that he chopped the deer in two upon, a small alcove in the cave wall rests next to the table, out of sight of where you had been watching from. The first thing you notice is the corpses, both animal and human. Game of all kind lay skinned and cleaned, ready for cooking. The corpse of a man, one of his arms removed below the elbow, makes your stomach turn. Worse yet is the two young boys who huddle together, heavy chains upon their wrists. Their sudden movement startles you. The two of them still live.

You turn back towards the massive beast tending to his meal with a fire lit under your stomach. You cross the distance as quickly as you can without alerting him, coming up behind him with Liar Biter ready to strike.

The spiked head of the morningstar lashes out, smashing into the mountain of flesh before you. The spikes bite but his flesh almost deflects the blow, assisting you in pulling the weapon free as your strike rebounds off of the fat. Blood wells from the puncture wounds but he doesn’t utter a cry of pain.

Before he can react, you’re striking again. You put enough power behind this strike so it could almost kill a man outright, intent on overcoming the resistance of his flabby armor.

This strike buries itself deeper, you can feel the resistance struggle and give way under your hammering blow. This draws a surprised yelp of pain from him. You leap back, ready to defend against a counter attack. He spins as quickly as he can, which is still relatively slow. “Rios! Father told you abo…” his sentence is cut short when he see’s you’re not Rios, whoever that is. “What?!” He seems utterly confused at you standing there. “Manflesh? Alive?” His face contorts into some kind of rage and he explodes forward with a sudden burst of speed. “You should be in the pot!” He screams as he makes a grab for you. You leap just out of his reach and bring your shield up.

You stare at the quivering mountain of flesh in front of you, the picture of rage that masks his face slowly fades to a big and almost comical grin. “Going to cook you, lean meat. Then I’m going to feed you to the kin of the goblins you killed.” You open your mouth to give a shorty rebuttal but Geral launches forward, unbelievably fast.

His giant, club-like, hands hurtle towards you in a flurry of blows. The first connects with your shoulder, your shield unable to stop it, the loose mail slides under the blow and protects you from any harm. You dodge, duck, and slide your way through the next four wild swings. The final blow connects on the outside of your injured leg. Pain explodes beneath you as you feel the bones buckle under the sheer weight of the the strike. Your vision doubles for a moment and you nearly lose your footing but you know that to stop and acknowledge what is probably serious damage to the soft tissues and joints of your leg would be a serious error.

You grit your teeth and give back an enormous strike of your own. You shear away a section of blubbery flesh, blood pouring out in a great deluge. Your leg buckles slightly on the return swing and instead of shredding more of the massive beast you simply score a gouge with the tip spike of your morningstar.

Geral looks at you, his eyes wide, evidently surprised that you survived his initial attack. He pants out a response. “H-how… I should have… c-crushed you!!” He stumbles toward you sloppily, the weight of his arms apparently taking a toll. You have a strange feeling that initial flurry might have tired him out.

You back away from Geral, knowing you’ll have to do something unconventional to win this fight. He laughs between wheezing breaths. “Scared? Going… to run… away?” He waddles slowly towards you and you change directions. You try to maneuver so that the pot is between you and him.

Even with your freshly injured leg you’re quicker than him but he does his best to keep up, preventing you from getting the pot between you both. You lead him back through the rows of barrels, toppling some of them over with shoves from your shield to block his path. His face turns back to one of anger as you lead him on a wild-goose-chase. Soon enough you lead him back towards the pot. You have a wild idea, one to force him to the position you want.

You break into a hobbled sprint towards the boiling pot, Geral waddling furiously after you. You vault up onto the thick rim of the iron tub. Geral laughs to himself. “Lean meat… is going… to cook himself?” He closes in on you and you kick off with your stronger leg, launching yourself over to the opposite side of the bowl. The boiling liquid beneath you sloshes around and you feel the heat of splatter through the leather on your legs.

You tumble to the ground, finally in position. You clamber to your feet and, with your shield raised, slam into the thick iron as hard as you can muster. The pot tilts, splashing and pouring boiling stew all over the massive hobgoblin. He screams in pain, the soup scorching his face, neck, and chest. You push as hard as you can, trying to completely topple it onto him but the pot refuses to budge.

Suddenly the pot groans, and you hear the hobgoblin straining as he attempts to reverse your own tactic back on you. The pot begins to tilt back in your direction. You dive away, coming down hard on the ground but avoiding the torrent of super-heated water that rushes to fill the space you’d previously been standing in.

Geral screams and babbles in horrorific pain as you work your way back around the now empty pot. The sight of his face is something you’ll never be able to forget. The grey-green skin covered in thick blisters and patches of raw red skin. His eyes are swollen shut behind angry red boils. His nose seems to have been melted off, the skin flat and loose against his face. You hesitate for a single moment, the upper layers of his skin peeling like a snake’s skin makes your stomach churn.

You step into a puddle of the rapidly cooling soup as you slowly approach the pitiful creature. His head whips in the direction of the noise. “I’ll... Kill... you!” He rushes in your general direction, sending a wild haymaker toward you.

Surprisingly, for being blind, the punch is actually rather accurate. You bring your shield up to stop the wild blow and his knuckles rebound off the wood.

You strike back, swiping your morningstar at his chest. His wild flailing throws off your aim and his arm catches the flat side of one of the spikes. Your strike connects but does little more than prod the mountain of flesh.

Your second strike you decide to bring down on him, instead of from the side. The heavy spiked head crushes down on his shoulder and brings forth a new squeal of pain. He backs away from you as quickly as he can, mumbling to himself. “Cleaver! I need my cleaver!”

He blindly barges through barrels, heading towards the massive length of metal he used to segment the deer.

You catch up to Geral, hobbling as the pain in your leg begins to really hit you. He keeps mumbling. “Cleaver. Cleaver. Cleaver. Cleaver.”

You launch a strike at him just as he knocks a barrel over in your path. You stumble and the spikes simply score a cut down the back of the enormous hobgoblin. If he feels the pain, he doesn’t acknowledge it.

Your next strike, after getting back on your feet, goes wide as the hobgoblin dives forward. His outstretched arms brush the table that holds his cleaver and he throws himself towards it. You keep your distance as he fumbles with the massive blade. From this close you can truly appreciate the size of this weapon, a blade thicker than your finger and half as tall as you are with a thick wooden haft that makes up the rest of your height. Geral heaves the heafty blade with a single hand. His mumbles growing too soft you to exactly make them out but it sounds like “Lean meat.”

You let out a heavy breath, you’ve got to end this fight but you can’t afford to expose yourself to a single strike from that cleaver. You hunker down, clutching your shield, shifting from side to side.

Geral snarls out. “I smell you, lean meat!” He lifts the cleaver high overhead and brings it down in your general direction.

The world moves in slow motion as you see your chance. The blade swings down too far to the side, it won’t hit you. You take advantage and smash all of your weight behind your shield into the side of the cleaver. It goes wide and Geral lets out a surprised yelp, knowing he’s been left completely open and defenseless.

You know that now is the time, now is the chance for you to finish this fight.

All it takes is one good strike in the right place, at the right time to win a battle. That was something the head of your village’s militia drilled into you. His words ring through your head once more as you put every single fiber of your being behind one final strike. Liar Biter zips through the air, a barely visible blur.

Your eyes narrow on your target, Geral’s heart, as you aim this powerful blow. You hit with enough force to fell a man in armor, the hobgoblin’s flesh ripples under the impact of your strike, waves coursing through layers of fat. The flesh in the center of his chest gives way to the intruding steel, a second later his breastbone parts as well. You feel soft tissue and muscle shredding as the spikes of the Morningstar dig their way deeper into Geral’s chest cavity. You feel a thrumming beat reverberate throughthe wooden haft, the beat slowly growing weaker with each second. Liar Biter continues forward, drawing you into the cavity it has created. Your arm, halfway to your elbow, rests inside Geral when the weapon finally stops after knocking against the bones of a spine.

Geral looks at you, as best he can with his eyes unusable. One of his massive slabs of hand-flesh reach up and the lower half of your face and neck. You feel his fingers attempt to tighten. “Shive! Rios! Brothers, Help me!” His tone is weak, pitiful, and shakes with incoming sobs. “Father! Father!” His grip loosens as the beat you feel slows to a crawl. His hand slips from your face and his head falls limp, his chin propping his head against his chest just above the ragged hole you’ve made.

You drag your arm free from the gaping wound, blood pouring like a fountain. You shake your arm, trying to clean the ichorous blood from it.

Geral tumbles backwards with a resounding crash. Around his waist you notice a small leather satchel, which you grab as a spoil of war. You glance over at the cleaver, settled into a pool of blood, trying to decide if you should carry it back with you.

Taking the head, freeing the children, leaving the cleaver for now. Writing
>>
>>Apologies, gf came over because she has the day off

You decide that the cleaver would slow you down. Your leg is already going to stall you enough, you need to catch those goblins and they have a pretty large head start. The thought filters through your head, if you do manage to catch up to them can you handle them? Your leg is throbbing with pain and growing stiffer by the moment.

An answer springs to mind. The hobgoblin before you must have been their leader, or at least one of them. You wrench the cleaver free from his hands, clenched in a death grip around the haft. It’s incredibly heavy, you struggle to lift it over your head and simply let the weight of the blade carry itself down and through Geral’s thick neck. His head rolls free from his body and you hobble behind it. The head rolls to a rest near where the pair of boys sit chained to the cave wall. The two of them look between you and the head upon the ground, one tucked behind the other. “It’s alright, it’s safe now.” The slightly larger boy, and the one in the front, nods as the second boy smiles at you.

“Let the chains go slack against the floor, I’ll get you out of there.” They both lower their arms to the chains around them lay flat. You heft the cleaver once more, aiming at the chain right where it meets the ring driven into the stone that holds it in place. The heavy blade comes crashing down and with a shower of sparks, shatters the links of the chain. The boys wrists still are weighed down with a length of chain but they are free. “Go back the way I came.” You point to the tunnel you took to get here. Both boys follow your finger, listening intently. “Move quietly but quickly. The tunnel will lead to a room full of beds. On the back wall there’s a break in the rocks. Crawl through there. My friends will be waiting. Tell them Kanard sent you.” The smaller boy pipes up, his voice barely a squeak. “You not coming with us?” You shake your head. “There’s more people that need my help. We’ll see each other soon. Take this, to protect yourselves.” You let the cleaver drop and untuck the dagger from your belt, the larger boy takes it after a moment’s hesitation. “Be careful, don’t stick yourself on accident.” The boy nods and he and the smaller one quickly hurry off the way you directed.

You scoop up Geral’s head as you glance back at the cleaver, you’ll come back for it. You begin an awkward jog towards the opposite side of the cave, in pursuit of the goblins and the woman they’re dragging.

Thankfully, the tunnel doesn’t branch off for quite some time and you’re able to cover quite a bit of distance, despite your leg paining you every step.

>>Cont
>>
>>3425152
You come across your first branching path, the tunnel splitting into two separate ways. You glance down at the rough dirt that makes up the tunnel floor. The path to the left is marked with more sets of prints that you can count, the path to the right only shows signs of your quarry having passed though. Two sets of footprints and drag marks between them. You head to the right and feel the tunnel slowly beginning to slope downwards. You slow your pace, so you don’t slip on the loose rock underfoot. The pain is growing overwhelming, your vision is beginning to tunnel, as your adrenaline begins to fully wear off and the shock begins to fade.

Soon enough you hear noises of exertion, not the kind of exertion it takes to drag someone either. Your stomach turns as you find the source of the noise. The pair of goblins, evidently feeling they got far enough away from any danger, are attempting to violate the young woman once more. The pair struggle to restrain her arms and legs but she puts up a serious fight.

You let out a shout, something primal, full of rage and disgust and hurtle the severed head in their general direction. It lands near them with a wet slap that cause the two goblins to screech in terror. The immediately release the woman and attempt to flee, one of them scooping up the hobgoblin head.

You let the goblins flee, you’re in no condition to go off chasing after them. You make your way over to the woman and drop down to a knee. You drop more out of necessity that choice, your leg weary and swelling at an alarming rate.

“Are you alright?” The woman answers with an embrace, her thin arms snaking around the links of your mail shirt. She sobs quietly as you wrap an arm around her shoulders. “Thank the gods, I thought I was dead... or worse.” You feel a fresh burst of sobs rock through her. “You’re safe. The way back is clear.” She nods. “Are you alright? Can you walk?” She nods again. You try to rise and stumble slightly but she catches you and helps you stand. “Can you walk?” She asks, quasi-jokingly. “Yeah, that big thing smashed my leg pretty good but I’ll be fine.”

You flip your morningstar, using it like a cane to take some of the weight off of your injured leg and the pair of you hobble back the way you came.

Your progress slows with each step but the pair of you make it back to the kitchen cave without incident. Your vision swims and the woman tugs your arm, hurrying you along. You shake your head. “They took the proof.” You slur, sounding slightly drunk. “I need to take a few of his fingers. To show the governor.”

You try to heft the cleaver once more, noticing it’s much heavier than it had been the last time you lifted it. That’s when you hear movement. The tunnel behind you, where you just came from. It sounds like a group is heading your way, heavily armed from the clinking of metal. Ice runs through your veins.

You glance over at the woman. “Run! As fast as you can, I’ll be right behind you.” She hesitates for a single moment before nodding. “Thank you.” You nod back and she takes off running.

You drop the cleaver and retrieve your own equipment. You break into a lurching run, your gait uneven and without any real speed. You follow the woman through the stone passageway, she vanishes in the dark rather quickly, leaving you to painfully huff and puff your way alone.

You don’t hear sounds of anyone chasing you but you can’t be sure. You hazard a glance over your shoulder and immediately regret it. Your foot hits an uneven patch of loose stone and you tumble forward. Your face smacks the cool ground and you see stars.

You shake your head, trying to clear your thoughts. Then you hear it, hurried footsteps headed in your direction. You hear a familiar voice, though you can’t exactly place it in your dazed state. “Kanard! Payter! Nurmen! Are you there? Any of you?!” You can’t keep your eyes open long enough to see who it is, your vision goes black and you feel yourself drifting away from the cool ground.

You startle yourself awake. You can’t afford to sleep, the goblins! A blinding light replaces the darkness that previously consumed your vision.

Your eyes adjust, you recognize the setting as the Inn the company calls home. You’re not in your bunk, this bed too large, too comfortable, and too low to the ground.

A man approaches your side. He’s tall and thin, with pale features and incredibly deepset eyes. His features are gaunt, like he’d been starving for quite some time. His voice is like the whisper of a grave. “You’ve come back to the waking world.” He smiles, though it sends a chill down your spine rather than comfort you. “I did all I could with your leg, I’ve seen horse kicks do less harm.” You instinctively glance down at your wounded leg, it seems to be back to normal. “You were lucky. It will be weak for a few more days, but you will recover without more than a scar. The scar is the result of my work. Blood pooled in your leg and requires draining.” He lifted the blanket and traced a puckered line up the middle of your thigh. “I would, once you have time, ask a few questions about the hobgoblin you... destroyed.” He gave you another blood-curdling smile. “But first, I believe you have guests who have been waiting most patiently.” He moves, almost gliding, across the room towards a door. He rests his handle on the knob before turning back towards you. “I forget my manners. I am the Companion’s surgeon. Devel. A pleasure.”

“I am Kanard. Thank you Devel.” You shift in the bed, nervous about the fates of the others. “Did the rest of my comrades return? The children? The woman?” Devel smiles. “Indeed they did. I patched up wounds on several of the men who went on your mission. That boy Nurmen was in shape similar to you. Though he didn’t sleep for a day like you did. The children and the woman are fine as well. I believe them to be part of the group waiting just beyond this door.” He bows his head and yanks the door free from its jam, slipping out before the others slip in.

First through the door is Sandon. A warm smile upon his face. The two boys slip around his legs and rush to the side of your bed. All three of them wear rough-spun garments, the boys sporting a few holes. The woman follows behind Sandon, hidden by his shadow and dwarfed by Optra, who follows behind her. Optra wears a loose shirt made of a finer linen and a pair of pantaloons sized up to fit his frame. The woman wears a green dress, the hem resting just below her knee. It’s formal enough without being too pretentious and made of a finer fabric, maybe silk.

The two boys chant. “Greyslayer! Greyslayer! Bane of hobgoblins! Beware filth, of your flayer!”

Sandon brushes his hand through one of their hair. “They won’t stop. It was the chant, in your honor, all of the Companions drank to last night. I say it’s damn well earned. Saw the corpse of that thing myself.” He reaches out a hand and you grab it, he pulls you into a one armed embrace. He bends down so you don’t have to sit up too far.

The two boys excitedly begin re-enacting the battle, the larger one playing you and the smaller playing the hobgoblin just as your burned his face. Sandon watches enthusiastically.

The woman sits gently on the edge of your bed, healing scrapes mar her beautiful features, giving them a fierce cast. “How do you feel?” You shrug. “Well-rested and better than I did hopping one-footed through those tunnels.” She smiles. “Good, I didn’t want anyone to die for me. When they carried you past me... I assumed the worst.” She embraces you again. “My name is Helena, by the way.” You smile. “Kanard. Sorry I forgot to introduce myself yesterday.” She smiles back. “I’ll forgive your rudeness. This time.” She rises. “I should be going. My father is a goldsmith and I run the store-front. You should visit us sometime. We’re on the far side of the market district, The shop is called The Gilded Fountian.” She gives you a curtsy. “Thank you again for saving my life Kanard. I do hope to see you again.”

Optra waits until she leaves to begin speaking. “I am proud of you, foolish boy, but you could have died. That hobgoblin...” You nod and finish the sentence for him. “He wasn’t right. Unnatural.” Optra nods back. “Indeed.” He makes his way over to the edge of your bed.

I would recommend spending them resting, but you are free to do as you please.” He looks back to you. “I don’t doubt you’ll be visiting The Gilded Fountian, to examine it’s wares.” Giving a knowing wink he heads for the door.

For our two skills I think Hale and Hearty I and Ring the bell are the best choice

Can we get a list of skills we can buy?

We have to check what was on the hobgoblins sack too

And we seem to have a chance with an almost rape victim

you need to scroll down to see the list
Probably wants to give us a fency trinket. Even if we have the chance I think our character should refuse it. We are merc nothing but regret will come from this.

I liked the +hp and the flurry or the ability to reduce dodge penalty from armor

Hey, fantastic quest man! I like how even though you gave us a way out and others didn't see it, you still managed to write in a gripping enough way to make those other people choose to flee. I am also stoked how our choices are influencing how Kanard is viewed within the company.

For the skills, I would ask for Ring the Bell and Second Wind/Danger Sense/Cleave/Charge/or Blunt Weapon if we're sticking with our morningstar throughout the campaign.

I think flurry and a bonus to two handed, really stat ourselves to just destroy people.

>>Hale and Hearty I
>>Armor Mastery I
I vote for these two as we get most amount of HP from this and for heavy infantry not having armor proficiency is embarrassment. If we could buy two piece of armor +5 armor each proficiency gives us extra 6 and put us at +30 armor. So we would end up with 125 Hp and 30 armor

I’m glad you guys are enjoying, this whole job was kind off of the cuff. We had that random event of Andron getting stabbed, which evolved into a nest of goblins, which evolved into a pretty massive nest with a couple of bosses. But the stuff coming up next I’ll have to adapt a little, which I’m working on today.

Also, it seems like we haven’t reached a majority on which skills yet, so if we don’t in this thread I’ll call a more official vote in the next one. I’m liking all the different combinations, it’s interesting seeing what everyone picks.

Yeah, its probably for the best that we take the vote next thread
>>
>>3429993
Oh yeah before we forget what was in the other two passages?

Its for him to know for us to find out

he said he would tell us, but if we are still clearing that hole maybe he shouldn't

I’ll be vague, but Geral was a triplet. One triplet was at the end of each tunnel. The other two, you’ll find out, were never found.
