/qst/ - Quests

You died. Well, at least you think you did. You remember nothing but the cold embrace of the sea, pulling you into your demise.
You look around you, a strange, thick fog envelops your surroundings, barely allowing you to discern your own form when you look down, or your lack thereof.
Death is pretty strange.
You think. One of the few things you can do in this situation.
Thinking makes you feel. You feel rage or whatever amounts to it in the void, your anger ejecting itself from you, turning into dark,
eldritch creatures with eyes that glow a pale blue. Each one swims away into the distance, disappearing into the fog.
You also feel sadness, each tear you shed into the void turns into shades of different colors, each one turns into ...girls each one different from the other, their warmth a welcome change in this dark, cold, silent void. Yet you feel their warmth slowly fade into the distance, you are unable to prevent them from leaving.

Again, you are alone..
Time passes, or does it? You don't really know if it does in this strange place.
Your consciousness sinks and rises, each state following the ebb and flow of strange, ethereal waves.
You feel at peace.

Then, after an eternity of silence, a strange, booming voice echoes across the void.
"Another one?"
Rather than hearing, you feel it. An amalgamation of many different voices, all screaming into your "ears".
The voice tears apart your existence, carefully examining each and everything that it can gets its hands on. You would scream, but you are unable to do so.
After what seems to be an eternity, the indescribable pain slowly subsides. You feel the presence that shook the very fiber of your being, along with it.
It continues screaming.
"Interesting, interesting! The concept of a "form" is there, but the "form" itself is missing. Interesting, interesting, indeed, veeeerrryyy interesting!
Ah, I know! I'll help you! I'll grant you the form that you need! You just have to make things interesting, indeed!!"
>>
The fog that surrounds your consciousness suddenly splits in three different directions, each one bathed in a different light from another.
The presence stands in the middle, the devil on the crossroads it screams at you
"Pick one! Choose wisely though! This is a one time offer!"

>The first direction: this direction smells of sweet flowers intermingling with the salty spray of the sea. The light flowing from it is blinding, and permeates a scorching warmth. You feel many familiar presences on the other side.

>The second direction: this direction again smells of the sea's salty spray, but this time it is much more stronger than the direction before.
The light flowing from it is bearable, unlike the one before. You feel some familiar presences on the other side, but some more distant , some more faint.

>The third direction: this direction smells of rusty iron and burning oil. There is only the faint presence of a light coming from this direction, and you feel
that most of the familiar presences that you felt in other directions are now few and far in between. It feels cold in this direction.

"Well? What didja pick? Huh, huh?"
You don't know if its the eternity spent in darkness, or the fact that you don't have the capacity to think, with your lack of physical form and all, but you point to a spot right in the middle of the first and second direction, in a spot where the two lights coming from both directions intermingle and merge into a single beam of beautiful light, something about it makes you feel content with yourself.

"Oh! OH! Interesting indeed! The first one to pick one IN BETWEEN! Yes, yes, enlightening. Very well, I will let you have this choice! And I wish you a merry life,
Inazuma."

You feel a heavy sensation as the fog around you slowly dissipates, you are pushed into a mortal form, the sensation akin to getting your body suddenly flipped upside down, then
right-side up again, multiple times, while your body vibrates violently to unknown frequencies. An eternity later, you are thrust into the world.

The first thing that you feel, hear and smell is the salty spray of the sea, but all you can see is darkness. You start to panic, have you gone blind? Did the scary voice mess up, nanodesu?
Huh? Nanodesu? That's odd. But weirdly, it feels normal, like it was meant to be. Oh well. Then a sudden realization dawns upon you. You eyes are closed! You feel very stupid nanodesu. Feeling a varied mix of emotions, you start to will your eyes open, bit by bit, not be blinded by the blinding light of the sun, which you haven't seen in a while. You are hit by another weird feeling. You're pretty sure you've never seen the sun before.
Oh well, nanodesu.

Despite your best efforts, you are blinded by the mid-noon sun hanging in the sky. You scream. "HAWAWAWAWAWA NANODESU!" the first words out of your mouth are ones of panic.
You're pretty sure that doesn't bode well. While flailing around in a panic, you hear a female voice from the distance. That voice is familiar, you can describe it as-

>An energetic voice, which gives you a sense of dependability. The voice is trying to comfort you by telling you to don't panic.

>A tomboy-ish voice, which gives you a sense of confidence. You hear the voice trying to distance away from you, screaming things such as "NO! DON'T! I DON'T WANT TO SINK HERE!"

>You don't hear a voice at all, just silent breathing UNCOMFORTABLY CLOSE to your ears. It excludes a highly smugness and somehow feels more familiar than the previous voices.

>You don't hear a voice at all, just silent breathing UNCOMFORTABLY CLOSE to your ears. It excludes a highly smug and somehow feels more familiar than the previous voices.

A few moments later, your eyes adjust to the light, allowing you to see the horror that is in front of you. You see yourself. Which you aren't even sure why you know how you look like nanodesu.
Save for some minor details. For one, the mirror image of yourself that's just standing there has hair that is a shade lighter than your own, another is the way that she's just silently smugly staring at you
is starting to tick you off nanodesu, and the final most important part is that
her breasts are a cup or two bigger than yours.
"Wh-" your voice is interrupted by a loud screeching noise that seems to come from deep inside her head. It sounds like its coming from a untuned radio FROM INSIDE YOUR HEAD!
You cover your ears in an attempt to lessen the pain. It doesn't help.
"Mic test, mic test." The voice is familiar. Then, you realize. It was the voice from earlier, except much more familiar. Because it's your own voice nanodesu.
"Aha! Didn't expect it to be me, didja? Didja? Reality check, you picked unorthodox-ly two times, and didn't expect this magical girl being from between worlds to come with you?"

You want the pain to stop. You think of good things, like nanodesu. You don't even know what that means.
"Oh! I guess I REALLY fucked up the frequency up, desutte? Here, let me fix that for you." The screeching noise inside your head resides, causing you to fall onto your knees onto the water below your legs.
You look up at the smug reflection of yourself. You want an explanation, for many things, mostly, her brea-
"First things first." It isn't even talking to you with its mouth, its telepathically talking to you. "Hey! I can hear you, you know, and I'm a girl! G I R L! bonefide shoujo here, desutte!" That still doesn't explain anything.
"Well, Seeing as how this great me got bored in a state between existence, Iv'e decided to come along with you on a ride!" You click your tongue.
"Don't click your tongue at me desutte!" Fine nanodesu, get along with the explanation. "I'm here to make things interesting! Let's see, I'll set 6,666,666, no wait, 3! 3 goals as thanks for giving you a form!"
The breasts? "BECAUSE this great me is better than YOU!" That still doesn't explain- "So, do you wanna know what the 3 goals are?" It shuts down your rebuttal. You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose to ease the pain.

"Fine, nanodesu." You reply to it, weakly righting yourself up. "1st goal, Make ME have fun! 2nd goal, gather the shipgirls to defend against abyssals, you know, the ones you yourself spawned? 3rd goal, have fun."
Somehow, the last part of the sentence feels more heartfelt, more, non-insane. Normal. Then, it goes silent, leaving you with a smug reflection of yourself staring at you. Further prodding doesn't exhibit a reaction from the being. Oh well.
You sigh again, you feel that you won't be able to disagree with this... thing, nanodesu.

You set your mind to it. But then, you realize, you are in the middle of nowhere, the sea stretches out as far as the eye can see, but above, you see some birds flying south, no doubt to land.
Of course, you can always try asking the... thing, yeah, it's getting really hard to continue calling it a thing or it. Let's just name her Smugzuma. You know it's a pretty creative name.
Further prodding also reveals that you have a signal flare hidden inside ~somewhere~, or rather, your sailor uniform's skirt pocket, maybe you can use that to signal someone?

You decide to...

Roll me a 1d20 if you please!

>Follow the birds, maybe they'll lead you somewhere where there's sure to be land.

>Ask Smugzuma for directions, as she has a perfect(read: this is false.) track record of getting you out of your problems!

>Follow the birds, maybe they'll lead you somewhere where there's sure to be land.

Deciding to follow the birds, since animals are more trustworthy than Smugzuma, and just firing a flare into the air may attract all kinds of trouble.
You begin to skate along the water's surface, your legs leaving a wake of foam as you go. You think to pass the time, thinking always helped you, nanodesu. Yet, nothing comes to mind.
The only company you have are the cries of birds, and the distant, but constant beating of waves upon an unseen shore. A sense of serenity falls upon you. You begin to hum a song,

>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuPW v1x7lI&list=FLGSBpasc8ajSrXRlCggeF2Q&index=2&t=0s

Your voice echoes across the waves. You feel truly at peace. Yet, something feels missing, but you place that feeling at the back of your head.

Maybe half an hour or so later you realize that, you left Smugzuma behind.
Nanodesu.

You turn around to backtrack back to Smugzuma, but in the distance you spot... a thing. You really can't describe it. Weird, black chitinous metal heaves and pulses in an unearthly manner. You look at its face, or what constitutes as one. Pale, glowing blue-green eyes stare at you from afar, its lower jaw barely hanging onto its hinges, dips up and down into the water, you think it's drinking or maybe, breathing. You look back into its eyes, which flicker in a pattern, was it trying to communicate? You reach your hand towards it, before pulling it back in a panic, sure your (one and only) experience with otherworldly horrors may have been okay so far, but you feel that something isn't quite right with the... thing, in front of you. Your eyes dart around its form, taking in every detail you can discern.
I
t's then that you notice the big, gaping hole on the left side of the creature's torso. From it spills black blood that pulses and moves on its own strange whims. Slowly, you see it spread TOWARDS you.
That isn't good nanodesu.

You think, but realize that this is no time to think, it was time to act, something inside your head hums a strange electric tune. Your body grows heavier as metal objects of war graft themselves into your body,
instinct tells you that these are your armaments, weapons taken from times long past, used by men long gone. Your gut tells you to END the monstrosity in front of you lest its vile existence continue defiling the world, yet somehow a contrasting feeling emerges from your heart. The words that Smugzuma told you, that this thing, was once part of you. You feel some sort of weird pity towards it.

The sludge inches closer toward you, so you decide to-

Roll 1d20 if you please!

>Given in to your instinct, fire your guns towards the thing, trying to control the urge to unload everything that you have onto it to ensure it's destruction.

>Listen to Smugzuma's words, the pity that you feel towards it, and run away, continue following the birds towards land, your original objective.

>Fire the signal flare into the sky, which should attract attention, but you are unsure of what kind of attention.

>Listen to Smugzuma's words, the pity that you feel towards it, and run away, continue following the birds towards land, your original objective.

You decide to listen to Smugzuma's words, something that you're sure will happen rarely in the future, yet you're sure that the factor that weighed on this decision the most was, your pity. You gather all your willpower, fighting the urge to unload your armaments onto the poor ... thing.

You look up into the sky, orienting yourself with the direction of the birds in flight, and move far away from the black sludge. When you reach a specific distance, you turn back at the thing, its pale blue eyes still flickering in a pattern, its black sludge-like life blood has spread to the maximum distance it can spread to,
and from what you can see, it has stopped pulsing and writhing. You feel that it doesn't have that much time to live. You face forward once again, and once again you feel that you forgot something important.

Oh yeah,
Smugzuma, nanodesu.

You weigh your options, to turn back to find Smugzuma, or to continue onward. But you realize that turning back wasn't an option anymore. You've made significant headway towards your destination, and on the horizon, you see distant specks of green bobbing up and down your vision. Dry land, nanodesu!
Excited at the prospect of finding some other beings to converse to, other than a inter dimensional being that was insistent on screaming in your head instead of proper conversation, you start to speed up. Your insides start to rumble a steady beat, and no, it's not your stomach, nanodesu! Your speed starts to pick up as a miniature chimney appears on your back, spewing out smoke.
>>
>>3399723

In your excitement, you barely fail to notice the two black silhouettes also in the direction that you are heading. Then you notice another speck, this one clad in something in the colors of blue and white.
From your position, you can see the flash of guns, feeling their roar seconds later. None of the two groups hit each other, but you're pretty sure that situation wouldn't last.

This calls for another thinking session, nanodesu. You weigh your options, you can always turn away from them, and take a detour. It wouldn't be hard to reorient your bearings using the birds, but the position of the sun tells you it would be dark in a few hours. You could always hit the brakes and stop in your tracks, and observe the battle from afar,
or you stop being a coward, and RIP AND TEAR NANODEATH-U!
You're not sure what came over you with that last thought.

After thinking you decide to-

>Turn away from them, hoping that they finish their fight before the sun sets and you are forced to sail blind.

>Stop and watch their battle from afar, waiting for their battle to end.

>RIP AND TEAR NANODEATH-U

NANODEATH-U! For the Abyssals at least.

>Stop and watch their battle from afar, waiting for their battle to end.

After weighing your options, you decide that your best option is to wait it out, seeing as, even if you did try to come in and help, you could be caught in the crossfire, be seen as an enemy by both sides or not be a help at all seeing your lack of experience.
The steady hum from inside you fades away as you come to a complete stop, you try your best to observe the battle from afar, but what you can see at most is the loud bark of guns exchanging fire, black smoke pouring out from red hot barrels, and the tall torrents of water as shells time and time again hit the water, detonating just below the surface.
At first, the battle seems to be equally matched on both sides, but the black specks have an advantage in numbers, after a salvo hits very close to the single blue and white silhouette, the large tower of water engulfing it. You almost start up your engines and run to its aid, but its then that a large explosion rocks the two black specks, direct hits in what constitutes to be their magazines.
The world is wracked in a huge, cataclysmic explosion, as the blue sky is painted black and orange by the smoke and fire smoldering on the specks below. You're pretty sure you saw one fly into the air because of the force of the explosion nanodesu.

Terryfying, nanodesu!

Then, the world is silent again, the only sound are the waves, and the distant popping of ammunition cooking from the heat of the fires. The birds are now flying away, scared by the explosion, you're glad that you don't need them for finding land anymore, but you're now faced with the dilemma that, you have to face whatever fought and defeated the now smoldering abyssals. Then, you see a signal flare fly out into the sky, towards your direction. You stand still, mesmerized by the flare, burning red, contrasting the blue sky.
However, your reverie is broken by the hum of a boiler, as the blue and white speck slowly moves towards you. You would leave, but you hear another thing inside your head, you hear beeping, Morse code M-Y-I. It appears that whatever defeated those abyssals is trying to communicate with you, but the reception was pretty bad.
You think, nanodesu. But you're a bit short on time. But you still think. If you retreated, maybe she would see that as a hostile action and shoot at you, nanodesu, plus she already had a good head start on speed compared to you. Of course, you could always start up your engine and go to her, maybe send out your own Morse code, maybe she would appreciate the gesture?

In your thinking, you didn't realize the distance between you and the silhouette was shrinking, fast. You could now see HER features. It seemed that the figure was waving at you, screaming something inaudible due to the distance, but still communicating to you in Morse code M-I-Y-U-K-I, reception was clearer now.
Hawawawa! What do you do, nanodesu?!

In your panic, the shipgirl reaches her destination, that is, you.
You see that she has a confident smile on her face, with the slightest hint of a burn on her cheek. Her short, neck-length hair is frazzled and pointing out in various places. Her clothes are dripping wet, and are smoldering in some parts, but over all, she is uninjured from the fight. You fear that if you try to fight, you would meet the same fate as the Abyssals.

"Hey!"

Hawawawa! She talks, nanodesu! You hide your face in between your hands, your social skills (read: low leveled) will pull you through this!

"Are you okay?" Her voice is filled with a slight tinge of worry, but you're embarrassed, nanodesu! You heaven't really talked to any one else, nanodesu!

"Who are you? Where are you from? Do you know where this is?" She starts barraging you with a barrage of questions, nanodesu, your brain overheats and you decide to-

The dice are merciful today.

Your brain overheats and melts into a pile of gooey. You then hear a click inside your head. Your brain goes into overdrive. You see the world in slow motion. Your eyes lock onto your target as your engine SHOUTS into life. Something tells you that this has all happened before somewhere, sometime ago. You feel that it this is destined, that you both know what must be done.
"HAWAWAWAWA!" You screech at your target, your voice carried over the waves and beyond. Some unnatural force overrides the grip that reality has on your turbines, foaming the water below you white from the force of your three boilers working overtime, to pursue destiny. She realizes far too late. It must be done. The cycle must continue.
Your body is moving on its own, empowered the whim of some cosmic deity, which you are going to assume is Smugzuma, has heard the cries of your existence, the cries of your destiny crossing many an odd time and space. The being smiles upon you.

You see her face contort in the sudden realization of what will occur at this moment her memories flooding into her head, it is all destined, nanodesu. She screams. "NO! I DON'T WANT TO SINK HERE!"
She begins to move. But she is too slow, nanodesu, too slow for destiny, nanodesu. You shoot towards her with the force of a thousand lifetimes worth of karmic energy. Then you realize, that your trajectory is off, a small error, but enough to spare her from the full brunt of fate.

You decide to take fate into your own hands! She is too far left for your whole body to connect. You push your left arm towards her, ready to catch her with it.
Still, she tries to escape her fate, but you know that she cannot.

"HAWAWAWAWA!" You scream your battle cry, an offer to the gods above. May this noble sacrifice please them!

The last thing you see is Miyuki's blissful face, achieving nirvana through acceptance of her earthly fate.
You crash into her, and the world goes black.
>>
>>3400140

You come to hours later you open your eyes to darkness, your back laying on what feels like wood. You feel satisfied, fulfilled from achieving your destiny. Your chest also feels heavy. It's hard to breathe nanodesu. You feel around your chest, only to feel a tuft of hair.
There wasn't supposed to be hair there. A pair of glowing amber eyes slowly look up at you from your chest. You scream. "HAWAWAWAWAWA! NANODESU!"
You push the thing on your chest with a strength unseen since the meeting of destiny in what seems to be hours ago. Then, you hear the tell tale screeching inside your head. It seems that Smugzuma has caught up to you.
You place your hands over your ears as you stand up on wobbly legs. "Mic check, mic check! Did you miss me?"
No!
"Well, too bad! Who do you think gave you the power to FULFILL YOUR FATE? Anyways, good job on reaching the naval base! Applause, applause! Oh wait, you look like you're VERY MUCH in pain. Here, here I'll soothe your pain."
The screeching subsides to a low, thumping hum.
"It's not much of a naval base and more of a shack, really. That Miyuki girl's talent in building really can't compare to her skills in battle. ANYWAYS! Congrats on getting a base of operations to work on MY goals! GYAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
You return your hands to your side, and look around. The dim glow from Inazuma's eyes allows you to at least know the basic layout of the room, or rather, the hut you are in.
You return your focus back to Smugzuma, whose physical form is standing there, staring at you unblinking, yet her cackling resounds through your head.

You need to get out of here before you become even MORE crazy. You walk out of the hut, leaving Smugzuma in the darkness.
Outside, your only light source is the dim light of a waning half-moon that bathes the landscape in an ethereal light. The hut is located on the beach, the constant beating of waves calms you down like any lullaby would.
You look around for Miyuki, but you don't see her anywhere in your general vicinity.

You think of ways to find her. You could walk around, orient yourself with the general area of this tropical island, there is a chance where you can get lost. You could of course, scream her name, but you're unsure of whether or not she would answer, after what happened before, or, you could always just stand there, listen to the waves. Maybe hum that song from before.

You decide to-

>Look for Miyuki, maybe she's close by. Of course, you run the risk of getting lost.

>Call out to her, you're unsure whether or not she'll answer, maybe she'll even run away from you.

>Wait, and listen to the waves. Maybe hum a song.

>Wait, and listen to the waves. Maybe hum a song.

You decide that your best bet would be wait her out. Seeing as, you don't really want to get lost on an unknown island in the middle of nowhere, and you don't really want to scare Miyuki by suddenly calling out to her.
You sit in the darkness for awhile, content with listening to the waves, you sing rather than hum an original song you make the lyrics to as you go.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYxhx9Tf85A

Then, you feel the bite of insects piercing your skin. You decide it's the right time for a fire. You gather dry wood and tinder from nearby, an easy feat, seeing as there are coconut husks, and various sizes of driftwood all around the beach.
You prepare an adequate campfire, and you feel proud of your accomplishments. Then, you realize, you don't have any way to start a fire, nanodesu!
You think. You think hard. The thinking goes nowhere however. Your brain overheats with the massive amount of thinking that you did nanodesu.
Then, a light bulb lights up in your head.

You will your armament into existence, your guns gleaming ominously in the moonlight. You walk back a few paces away from the campfire you built, then, you take aim.
Just as you're about to light the biggest fire that this island has seen, a fish hits your head at mach sped. HAWAWAWAWA! Your AA fire-director and RADAR operator falls to their knees in shame!

"Stop! STOPPU!" Miyuki runs in front of you, she puts down the fishing pole and bucket of fish that she was carrying, before spreading her arms out and panting heavily.
"Are! You! Crazy?!" She inhales deeply.
"THAT ISN'T HOW YOU LIGHT A FIRE, STUPID!!!" Another fish hits your head at mach speed, further hurting the pride of your AA fire-director and RADAR operators.
>>
>>3400309

A few moments later, you are sitting across from each other, a roaring campfire between you two. You are sitting in your knees in a seiza. Miyuki is grumbling in your general direction, while preparing, skewering, and cooking the fish with the speed of a pro.
"First, you ram into me without any warning, yeah, sure, I understand that you felt that you HAD to. I felt THAT as well, but geez, now you almost blew a hole into a beach JUST TO LIGHT A FIRE? Are you stupid?"
You bow your head in shame.
"Well, do you talk? You know, anything that isn't HAWAWAWAWA or NANODESU?"
You speak normally for the first time.
"Yes. I'm sorry, nanodesu."
"As long as you don't do it again, I'm willing to compromise." She stands up and pats out the sand from her skirt. You think you saw a glimpse of white, but you place that thought at the back of your head.
She walks towards you and sits by your side, extending a hand towards you. "Name's Miyuki, which you probably already know, with the Morse code and all. And you are?"
"Inazuma! Nanodesu!" You take her hand and shake it. You feel that your social skills have improved! (they haven't.) Miyuki returns her hand to her side, staring into the fire. Very cool, nanodesu!
"I know we've had a bad start, but something tells me that whole fiasco before was due to the whims of something unknown, so I'm willing to start over and be friends. Let's do our best together, okay, Inazuma?"
Hawawawawa! You just made your first friend! By ramming into her! Hawawawa! You're so happy Nanodesu!

Then you notice Smugzuma peek out from the side of the tree, still with an unblinking stare, yet you feel an aura of jealous coming towards her. No. She does not count, nanodesu. You see tears gushing out from her emotionless eyes.
Nope, still not going to take pity on her. She starts bawling, but no voice comes out of her mouth. Still, you don't feel her sadness.

You just remembered you left Miyuki hanging, so you reply to her. "Yes! Let's be BEST FRIENDS!" You look at Smugzuma in order to emphasize the point, Miyuki smiles at you with a cool smile that makes your heart skip a beat. Maybe.
Then from the corner of your eye, you see Smugzuma break into a sprint, gunning for you from the treeline, intent to ram her meatbags into your new BEST FRIEND!

You think VERY quickly!

You decide to-

>Summon your armaments and unload all your ammunition into Smugzuma, yes, even the torpedoes.

>Grapple with her instead. You feel a SEETHING RAGE from the way her meatbags sway around and she sprints.

>Calmly stand up, taking Miyuki along with you, and let her sprint into the water, throwing at her anything in your general vicinity.

A success is as good as any, nanodesu!

You abruptly stand, surprising your new BEST FRIEND. You turn to the direction from where Smugzuma was sprinting from, Miyuki follows suit. Her eyes widen. Thank god, it wasn't one of those cliches where only you could see Smugzuma. Her eyes drift downward to what you will now christen GIGADESUS. She places her hands against her own sorely-lacking chest. She gives them a tentative squeeze.
The light from her eyes fades, as she looks up at you, and you look at her. Your eyes lock for a second, before both you nod in an understanding unknown to anyone but yourselves. She steps aside and retrieves the fish skewers from the fire, lest they become victims of what was about to happen, nanodesu.
Something in your brain clicks again, the second time for today. The world again slowed down to a crawl. You lock your eyes filled with determination with Smugzuma's empty, emotionless ones. You ready your grappling stance, bracing your hips for the action that is to come. For each step that Smugzuma takes on the stand, an eternity passes. Particles of sand fly off at every direction, bouncing from every surface.
Some bounce off her GIGADESUS, further increasing your rage. 1 step, then another. You ready yourself, the will of many of your sisters who share the same pain energizing you. When she is within minimum grappling distance, you strike. You release the tension in your legs, spring forward, smacking into her torso. You hear a crack, as her back curves into a weird angle almost like a C, surely killing any normal person, but not Smugzuma. Instead, all it does is further emphasize her chest, smothering you in a load of USELESS MEATBAGS as you come face to face with her GIGADESUS. Your arms coil around her still weirdly bent torso, but not before she lands an elbow on your head.

Your vision wavers for a bit, and that's enough time for her to trip your legs, sending both of you careening onto the sand. At first, she is above you, pinching your cheeks as far as she can. It is painful, you scream out. "HAFAFA FANOBESU" You see a smile in those empty eyes of hers. You are once again filled WITH DETERMINATION. You somehow manage to free a hand in the tussle, which you use to grab a handful on one of her GIGADESUS.
Then, you pull. You pull so hard, they stretch painfully. Tears start streaming out of those emotionless eyes. You use the chance to reverse your positions, you are now on top, nanodesu. You notice Miyuki throwing something towards you. You catch it with your free hand, while the other is still busy pulling and squeezing. She threw you a marker. She gives you a thumbs up.
You snicker. Finally, you are going to have your revenge. On her face you write, TITTY MONSTER, STUPID, USELESS MEATBAG, then, on her GIGADESUS you write, UNACCEPTABLE, NANODESU, and various other profanities and inanities that are either too disturbing to say, or rather, some force from beyond is too lazy to describe.
>>
>>3400512

Moments later, you stand up, bruised and sweaty, but a victor. Smugzuma is down on the ground, her eyes somehow feel emptier than before. You turn towards Miyuki, and give her a thumbs up. She gives one in return. You both return to your previous positions near the campfire, chewing on skewered fish after you finished reheating them.
After the after-meal silence settles, Miyuki asks you a question. "So, who is that?"
She points to the THING on the ground, writhing and shaking in some sort of sobbing motion, yet you can't hear any sound nor see any tears.

You think on how to explain it to your bestfriend. Do you tell her about what Smugzuma said to you? Do you tell her enough? or do you tell her nothing? But before you can decide, Smugzuma drags herself towards you two, and starts to talk, in your voice, but more monotone. So she CAN speak.
"Hello. I am Inazuma's twin sister, IInazuma" ...She has shitty naming sense. "Okay, now that's confusing, and I didn't know you had a sister!" Miyuki comments, you shrug. "I'm just joking. " Smugzuma manages to sit down BESIDE MIYUKI. You glare at her, and she glares back. "I'm Ninazuma" Still a shitty name, nanodesu. "My friends call me Nina." She has friends?
You're still going to call her Smugzuma, IInazuma and Ninazuma just sound wrong. It doesn't help that they're both puns on the number 2, nanodesu. "Nice to meet you, Nina!" Miyuki holds her hand out to Smugzuma, who stares at it for a bit, before tentatively shaking it, slowly, almost like she's savoring the feeling.

"Now that's all done and all, can you both answer my question?" You both tilt your head at her question, you feel that she thinks it's a bit creepy. "Where are we, what were those black things, and better yet, what are we?" You shrug as an answer to her question, before you turn your gaze above, to the moon. "Aliens." You say. Miyuki's eyes widen. You return your gaze back to her and snicker. She pouts. "I'm just joking, nanodesu, I don't have any idea, nanodesu." You sure do, along with Smugzuma.
You both know the truth of this world, but you aren't hardpressed to reveal it to her. Not yet at least. Miyuki sighs, before turning to Smugzuma for another opionion. She merely shakes her head. Smart girl.
>>
>>3400515

"Eh, if that's the case." She stands up, leaving both you and Smugzuma on the ground, glaring at each other as one waits for the other to make a move. "Then we really can't do anything about that, yeah?" You both nod, still monitoring each other. "I'm gonna get some shut-eye. You both can stay here, if you want." Miyuki stretches and heads for the hut, leaving both of you to continue glaring at each other.

You didn't notice when you fell asleep, but the campfire is now embers, and the sun is starting to rise. You feel something beside you, and you see Smugzuma sleeping peacefully. You smile. She, and in extension, you were pretty cute while you slept.
You appreciate the silence for a while, before something disturbs your slumber.

You hear the distant roar of a plane engine, coming from the sea.

Here we go again, nanodesu!

You hear the plane before you see it. You peer down to look at Smugzuma's face, still in a deep slumber. You resist the urge to wake her by slapping her GIGADESUS.
You sit there in the sand for awhile, listening to the distant thump of the plane engines, unsure of what to do. Your gut instinct tells you to flee, or to prepare your armaments, instincts stemming from bad memories involving airplanes.
This feeling of deja vu is weird, nanodesu. You hear a loud crash coming from the direction of the hut, you turn your head to look at the source of the commotion, to see that Miyuki is now wide awake, her hair somehow even more frayed than before, must be bed-hair nanodesu.

"INAZUMA, NINA!" She screams your names as she runs towards you, her AA contingent scanning the air, as little beings run around her deck towards battle-stations. You feel the ethereal pulse of her RADAR against your skin. It feels very weird, nanodesu.

Miyuki reaching your position breaks your trance. She screams you an order. "Armaments! NOW!" Somehow, you don't fluster at her screams, instead you take action. An electric hum comes from inside you. You feel the thump of your "heart" hasten as your body grows heavier. You hear the pitter patter of hundreds of tiny feet scrambling for their positions.
You stand up from your position, sand falling of from your uniform. You didn't have time to pat them now, nanodesu. Both you and Miyuki stand side by side to maximize your AA curtain, and spotting potential.
>>
>>3402646

"There!" Miyuki points to a green speck in the sky. Immediately, your RADAR personnel get to work, tracking the plane. Reports start coming in, identifying it as a Type 96 fighter, with its colors identifying it as a friendly. You don't lower your guard of course, that would be stupid, nanodesu.
Then, you feel it. A pulse. Morse Code. R-J. S-O-S. N-U. You look to Miyuki, who nods. It seems that she felt it as well. You look up to the sky, as the fighter dips and weaves machine gun fire coming from unseen enemies.
Your commanding personnel advice you that going into the water would improve your chances of finding whoever was sending the message, but your combat personnel tell you that such a move would be risky, considering that you don't know whether or not the one out there is friendly or not.
A fight starts inside you, before being broken up by your cook, who warns everyone that whoever fights wouldn't get their day's worth of curry. It works like a charm, nanodesu.
You look back to Miyuki, her expression telling you that she's ready to jump in the water at a moment's notice, and from how you saw her perform, you can say that she's very effective with her job.

You think for awhile, adrenaline causing every second to drag on for an eternity. You decide to-

>Let Miyuki lead the way, trusting her experience to locate and eliminate the enemy.

>Let yourself lead the way, your slightly better armaments better in locating the enemy, but with an inexperienced combat crew.

>Wait it out, as you've done before, maybe it'll go as good as your previous experience with Miyuki, but you do have to convince her to stay, which you think will be pretty hard.

After finishing my breakfast, I decided to write a long update, nanodesu!

>19!
Miyuki is very good at finding as well, nanodesu!

You nod at Miyuki motioning for her to go first. "I'll take point then!" She starts jogging towards the surf, you follow closely behind her. You glance back Smugzuma, who after all the commotion was still fast asleep. How lazy, nanodesu. Miyuki gets into the water first, smoothly sailing the wave that she causes with her entry. You on the other hand, almost topple over from the force and speed of your entry into the water, the wave you make from your entry unexpectedly bigger than what was predicted by your crew, embarrassing, nanodesu.
Miyuki makes up for your mistake, gripping your hand before you topple over the water, smiling her brand cool-smile. Your heart definitely skipped a beat, nanodesu! You both sail towards the direction the dogfight was last seen. You take this time to see the scale of the island. It's big. VERY big. You can't even see the end of each coast from the sea. Your base was located in a natural cove, formed in a slightly jagged letter C, perfect for protecting against waves, nanodesu!
Miyuki has both social skils AND planning skills, nanodesu!
>>
>>3402792

You both sail silently for awhile, listening to the reports of your personnel manning the RADAR. Miyuki's looks side to side, turning in seemingly random directions. You follow her lead.
Then, you hear it. The steady report of guns echoing across the waves. You both increase your speeds, matching with each other, to avoid detection by the enemy. You start to position yourself to the right of Miyuki, in order to allow you to fire the full brunt of your armaments towards your armament.
That's when you realize that, Miyuki lead you to the back of the enemy force! In the distance, you can see a red speck, the figure is surrounded by planes and... Things. You can only describe them as flying triangles with faces.
You return your focus towards the enemy fleet in front of you. Your RADAR personnel tell you that it consists of a light carrier, a light cruiser and a medium damaged destroyer, judging from the flames on its body.
Miyuki signals you on what to do next. You don't understand most of it, but the general gist of it is-

>Miyuki takes both the light cruiser and damaged destroyer, while you either distract or destroy the light carrier.

>You take both the light cruise and damaged destroyer, while Miyuki deals with the light carrier.

>You both charge in, ignoring the damaged destroyer and taking on both the light carrier and light cruiser.

In addition, you decide to-

>Fire the flare and pulse a message to her you have as you advance, ridding some of your surprise against the enemy, but allowing the carrier in the distance to know your position, to avoid friendly fire and maybe provide support.

>Not to fire the flare and not pulsing a message, letting you have the full element of surprise, but risking friendly fire with the carrier if she attacks the enemy while you're there.

I have to go now, nanodesu!
See you in a few hours, friends!

>16!
Good roll, nanodesu!

You nod at Miyuki. She nods back at you. Both of you start to pump up your engines to flanking speed, a steady thumping resounds throughout your body as direct result of doing so. You place the thought of shooting the flare at the back of your mind, what you needed right now was a swift and brutal attack deep into your foes.
With your speed, you cross the distance between your enemies as quickly as possible, your gun crews tell you that you are in minimum range to start firing. You tell them to prepare and range the enemy, but you notice that Miyuki's guns are silent. Your mind blanks out for a second, before seeing the confident smirk on her face.
She was going to fire hre guns at close range! You decide to follow her example, your guns already trained on your priority target. The light carrier. Your command personnel tell you that if you manage to take it out, the carrier in the distance would be able to support you!
Both of you pierce through the enemy formation, who were arranged in a stubby triangle, the enemy light carrier in between the light cruiser and the still burning destroyer.

Miyuki reaches the enemy first, and with a gusto, she uses her speed to-
KICK THE LIGHT CARRIER RIGHT IN THE HEAD! Hawawawawa! Scary, nanodesu!. Her blow connects, sending the light carrier listing to the left. While she unloads round after round inside its weird, concave... head, thing. You on the other hand, train your most of your main guns on the light cruiser, missing some shots, but scoring some shots here and there. Mostly near misses, but it's enough to rock the light cruiser's aim as it too shoots at you.
Both you and Miyuki's secondaries also spring into life, firing at the ...planes? That the enemy possessed, you managed to fend off most of them, but some get through, your body stinging from the cut-like wounds that their machine guns inflict. Thankfully, the fighters that you were currently dealing with had a distinct lack of bombs. Your duel with the light cruiser continues, as Miyuki now resorts to punching the light carrier with her bare fists. Her eyes are filled with a scary bloodlust as each of her hits sprays black, pulsing sludge-like lifeblood onto the water, onto herself, and onto the enemy.
You decide to follow her example. Your engines scream in overdrive as you start to push towards the light cruiser, your guns still blazing a fiery report.

But then, you notice it. The tell tale wake of torpedoes from the damaged destroyer, sailing towards Miyuki! You start to turn, but a VERY near miss rattles your body. Making you turn in a very awkward angle, allowing the light cruiser's secondaries to pelt you, causing even more bullets to cut into your body.
You start to scream. Miyuki was going to get hit!

That's when you notice it, Type 96 Fighters, Type 99 Dive Bombers and Type 97 Torpedo Bombers come in waves, to support you both! The timing wouldn't be much better. The noise from the planes cuts Miyuki out of her trance, and she jumps off the light carrier that she was beating, narrowly avoiding the spread of torpedoes, which hit the enemy light carrier instead, its body racked with explosions. Miyuki is however, blown away, landing on her backside on the water. A cut from her forehead paints her face red.
Seeing that she is safe, you turn back to the light cruiser, as another explosion rocks the world, sending the already damaged destroyer into the waves.
You are now face to face with an enemy light cruiser. Its form hazy from the sunlight and your blurring vision. The various cuts in your body already taking their toll.

You don't think. You move-

>RAMMING SPEED, NANODESU! IT WORKED BEFORE, IT WILL WORK NOW!

>Exchange fire with the light cruiser, you know your gun crews won't disappoint.

>Fire a spread of torpedoes, nanodesu!

Roll 1d20, if you please!

You are too kind Nanodesu.
What wretched pelagic nightmares have you in store for us? What teeming horrors of the Abyss await to claim their long undeserved due? As the victories mount, will we truly find redemption? Or will that which we resist celebrate with our corpses? Monuments of a damming sin forgotten long ago.

>Double 15!
In house crit, nanodesu!

>Fire a spread of torpedoes, nanodesu!

You have no time to think. Ramming would take too long, and exchanging fire with a light cruiser would leave you outgunned. Instead you retaliate with a destroyer's best weapon against targets with heavier displacements and armaments. Your torpedoes. They swivel towards their target, before your crew sets them lose into the world.
You set out the first spread. It makes a small splash as your torpedoes dip down onto the water below. A bit of salty water gets into your wounds, but you don't flinch, you don't have time to flinch. The tell tale hiss of oxygen informs you of your torpedoes' status. Of course, you don't expect your enemy to stand there, dumbfounded.
All the while, your guns never stop their violent retort, each blast disturbing the accuracy of your enemy. Slowly, you inch closer, and closer, your torpedoes leading the charge as you and your enemy continue trading blows.

One salvo from your enemy manages to knock up a huge torrent in front of you, blocking your vision for a few seconds, normally fatal in battle. You smirk from behind the curtain of water. Your are very close now. Your enemy is in minimal distance, in a range just a few seconds after your torpedoes finish arming.
It was too late for the enemy to realize,
You had two torpedo mounts.

You release your payload as the torrent of water recedes, masking the tell tale hiss of oxygen. Your enemy, losing sight of you, is confused for a scant few seconds. It head pans around, before spotting and subsequently locking onto you.
From this distance, you can see inside its head. two, pale blue-green eyes glare at you from the cloudy, glass-lined head apparatus. You expect to see hate, to see desperation, but you only see cold calculation from those eyes. Something from inside the pale blue-green abyss clicks.
It realizes the trap you set, but it's far too late to react. In a final bid of desperation, it trains all its guns onto you, but you stand there, dazed. You trust your crew, and you trust your instinct.

It doesn't even get the chance to light the powder inside its barrels, as multiple explosions rocks it form back and forth. It body is torn in half from the stress of force converging on its body, sending the upper half out into the sky, as the other sinks immediately in a fiery inferno.
You stand still for a moment, listening to the popping of ammunition, and the slow creaking of cold, lifeless wrecks slowly being swallowed up by the waves. You look down at your bloodstained hands, they were stained by your own blood. But you remember what Smugzuma said, that the ones you are fighting are your own.
Your reverie is broken by Miyuki, the cut on her forehead being tended to by her crew. You decide to christen them as fairies, or maybe, angels. Maybe the latter is a little too on the nose. You decide to stick with fairies.

"Good work!" Miyuki playfully punches you in the shoulder as she grins, causing you to flinch as you return your hands to your side. "Thank you, nanodesu." You reply to her smile with your own. You look onwards to the horizon, where a distant silhouette is waving her arms frantically towards you two.
Both you and Miyuki wait for your new arrival, which lets you stew in your own thoughts for awhile. In your head, you see those cold, calculating eyes boring into you, you could bare it better if they contained hate, any kind of emotion, but instead, you were devoured by an abyss.

You don't notice the light carrier reaching you and Miyuki. She raises her hand in a peace sign, and shouts. "Hey, ya'll!" Your eyes and Miyuki's scan down her chest.
She was flat. VERY flat. You're pretty sure that a cutting board had more volume than her. You and Miyuki both decide to keep your thoughts to yourselves.
"'names Ryuujou, ya'll can call me RJ for short, pleased to meet 'ya," She motions for you to introduce yourselves. "Miyuki!" Miyuki starts first, her voice filled with confidence, giving RJ a broad smile.
A second of silence passes, before you realize that it was your turn for introductions. Hawawawawa! How embarrassing, nanodesu! "I-Inazuma, nanodesu!" You fisning with a clumsy bow, almost causing you to tilt over, but Miyuki backs you up by catching you.

"So, what were ya'll doin 'ere?" RJ asks you, you can almost imagine her chewing on a strand of straw for some reason. "We saw your plane and heard your message, nanodesu!" You reply. "And we saw the fighting." Miyuki adds. RJ chuckles.
"Well thanks an' all that, yah know? Thought I was a goner there for a sec'. So, do you guys have a place where I can crash?" You and Miyuki look at each other, before nodding. "Sure! nanodesu!"

On the way back, a chill runs down your spine. A horrible fate was about to befall RJ.

Who should break her the news about Smugzuma's GIGADESUS?

>You, Hawawawawawa!

>Miyuki, you're sure she can handle it.

Apparently, your QM has forgotten how to type coherent sentences, nanodesu!

>Leave the problem be until you reach base.

It's dark by the time you reach the base. The trio of you, Miyuki and RJ slowly skate along the waves, RJ's planes providing reconnaissance and air cover as long as the sun was up. Thankfully, it set just in time for you to spot the first green specks of the tropical island you would call home.
You are again amazed by the island's size. According to Miyuki, you were approaching the island on the opposite side of your base. You all decide it was better to continue onward towards your base than to camp outside, You orient yourself by following the coastline. Miyuki and RJ engage in small talk as you travel. You listen to them, only talking when you were asked a question.
Hawawawawa, how embarrassing, nanodesu! You make a mental note to make your social skills better, nanodesu.

You realized too late that you still haven't addressed the elephant in the room, or rather, the GIGADESUS on the island. It seems the Miyuki was trying to delay the inevitable by distracting RJ until you reach the cove, you think she would know better, with her own experience with destiny.
Both you and Miyuki are silent as you climb onto the shore, you are all bruised, battered and fatigued from the battle at sea, but you both know that the real battle was just around the corner. Then you notice something odd. The beach was deserted, the hut too, after Miyuki investigated. What a shock, nanodesu!
Smugzuma was lost! You start to frantically search for her, your limbs flailing all around while you scream the name she gave to Miyuki. "Nina!" Miyuki screams into the jungle, while RJ uses her planes to search the area.

You all gather around the now blazing campfire, lit up by RJ using magic. No, you are not going crazy, nanodesu. RJ waved her hand over the campfire and it caught fire, nanodesu! "Mah' crew reported to me about seein' a fire further in, apparently at the mouth of a cave."
"Hawawawawa! Let's go there, then nanodesu! Who knows what's happened to her, nanodesu!" Miyuki nods at your suggestion. You three decide that having you and Miyuki find Smugzuma while RJ stayed behind and continued to observe from the skies was the best plan.
>>
>>3403602

But before you could begin searching for her, you hear the steady beat of drum accompanied by the movement of blue lights dancing in the air, coming from the dense growth of the jungle. You start screaming, clinging to Miyuki's arm, while she screams profanities. By chance you see RJ's face. She's frozen solid in fear.
You and Miyuki hug each other in terror. Both of you scream at the top of your lungs.
That's when you hear it. The monotone laugh of Smugzuma coming from the trees. "Kyahahaha! Did I scare yah, did I, did I? Gyahahahahaha!" She emerges from the trees carrying a small drum, of which you have no idea where she obtained one, accompanied by her own set of fairies carrying blue lights while screaming from tree to tree using vines.

You feel your soul leave your body, as RJ's mouth bubbles up from the stress of seeing her GIGADESUS.
And from the look of it, it seems that they got bigger by a cup.
How cruel, nanodesu.

That's it for today folks!
I feel pretty burnt out today, yes. yes. Seeing as we'll reach autosage tonight, I'll make a new thread tomorrow at 15:00 JST. Hope you had fun!
