Welcome back to the Kingdom of Animals!
you are a race of animals who have been given sentience and are now set of on crafting a nation for your people. Will you rule with peace, trade, an army and iron will? Let the story unfold and see whose nation will be left standing.

Use the template to get started.

Choose an animal and then two abilities that you would like them to have, once posted we will work out how they work in game.

Claim one hex, each hex adjacent to that hex is also claimed by your nation.

new nations start with 100 population and 50 food.

Each turn will equal a month of progress.
There will be 6 months in a year. At the end of the year a world event may trigger.

You will have two actions for each of your turns two turns make a month. You will use a d100 to roll to see how well you will do, adding the stats that apply.

Explanation of stats.

Power: when being aggressive or dealing with a problem that requires a military force you can add this number to your rolls.

Defense: protecting your nation from a harmful event. Or defending it from others you can use this number and add it to your rolls.

Food: this is how much food you have for your people to eat. At the end of each year you will receive population equal to ½ of your food. If your food is ever reduced to half of your population or lower your nation starts starving and you will lose population every month till it rises above half of your population.

Population: this number represent how many individuals live within your nation. If this number ever reaches 0 your nation is destroyed.

Tech: This number represent how well your nation can use technology to their advantage. This is a misc modifier that can be added to a variety of rolls.

Magic. This number represent how well your nation has a hold on magic and the use of it. This is a misc modifier that can be added to a variety of rolls.

Lore: just fluff for your civ.

Claiming an unclaimed hex space.
You may spend a resource of your choice to claim a hex adjacent to one you already have claim. Alternatively you can claim a hex not adjacent to one you own by spending +5 more per 2 hexes away it is

>>
>>3388680
Lol you don't actually play anthro animals, I went on the Discord then OP threw a sissy fit once he got told it was a stupid pitch to make a civilization game about feral animals and he kicked me. He didn't give this precision to start with, of course, but judging by the weak English spelling OP might not be out of high school yet.

"Make it work, use your imagination, invent technology to make it work", he said. "Make it like Redwall and Watership Down", he said.

1 - Redwall is anthro animals
2 - Watership down rabbits are a *story* about quadrupeds running from everyday rabbit life dangers, not inventing civilization with their lack of thumbs.
3 - Guess you can just pick elephants and stomp everyone and if you pick say badgers you're boned because 1000 feral elephants vs 1000 feral badgers I know who's gonna win ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

-5 / 10 OP is a doublefaggot
>>
>>3388724
My Russian bear people will reign supreme tho. Unless animal people can develop the ability for supreme hand-to-eye coordination and spear throwing (what gave humans a huge edge against these animals in the first place), then it will mostly be melee, and bears and elephants might then be the way to go. Unless chimps get involved. Hell, even simple agriculture needs tools and hands. OP should introduce humans as some sort of unbeatable super race, then things could get interesting (like princess Mononoke)
>>
>>3388724
Just shut up and stop bitching about it.
I like you and you make a cool art, but for fuck's sake... Get over it. Have some fun. This is all just for fun.
>>

But you heard the OP, your hamster was given 'thought' (everybody knows real hamsters don't think), that means he's basically able to lift things with his mind already. Why aren't you being creative enough!

Bears don't have opposable thumbs. You basically just asked to make them anthro, so, not playing feral bears. The only race with real hands are humans, which is basically why we're the only ones with a civilization and why fantasy settings feature anthropomorphs.

But maybe I'm not creative enough. After all, just a concept artist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know, that's why I asked in a roundabout way to make them more able to cultivate and create civilizations. With a bit of ancient magic, you could make those paws hands, right? Victoria
Year 1 , Month 1

Actions 1&2
A Hunter pack is sent out to hunt the other wild life to help feed the clan. Paw to snow has the scavenging the forest, looking for the tell signs of life in the cold lands. Tracks left by small creatures are spotted in no time and the pack bounds towards their source. At its end they find a group of lemmings forging about the ground.

The hunters steady themselves till the right moment and pounce on the rodents. The lemmings scatter with loud squeaks, rushing off in every direction only to be cornered by the wolves who rip into them.

Their prize gained and snow bloodied the hunters drag back the food to their tribe.

The smell of fresh blood wafts through the trees ushering out the hungry creatures hoping for an easy feast. Hidden among these trees the sharp cawing of ravens fill the air, on soft wings these creatures descend on the hunting pack, pecking and clawing the wolves who hold onto their kills. Some drop their food but others make haste with the dead rodents and rush to their tribes so that some food can be saved.

After awhile the beast happen upon a river that is teaming with fish ripe for the feasting, and without much delay the bears hop in the river to chow down. These rivers are protected though, by a clan of beavers who jump forth with wooden weapons of odd design , striking up from the water at the bears with swords that cut their flesh deep. Many bears fall to the rivers bed dead , others not able to predict where these beavers might strike next rush off back into the woods.

Action 2

Lore: Victorian wolves are really similiar to snow wolves, with a few differences. Color of their fur is either snow white, really light gray or gray. There are only a few encounters of black Victorian wolves, but even though, it is possible for a pure breed Victorian wolf to be black-furred (different fur color is caused by genetic mutations). And their eye color ranges from red or green to even black or white!
Some of their unique traits are abilities to control fire magic, and an ability to communicate with eachother using an arsenal of body gestures.
Even though they are powerful and majestic creatures... They are mostly derps when no one is looking. But that makes them even more beautiful and loveable.

The Fire Magic they possess was given to them by Tlaxcala, after their Ancestor the Great Tikal proved her Faith by diving into the Ancient Machu Tolo Volcano.

The Xochiluatl are great leapers, often bounding among the Volcanic Peaks and Valleys of their Islands, they Glide and Fly between the Two Southern Isles using the abundant thermal updrafts and Air Currents made by the Geothermal Terrains.

They warp and shape many Tall and Beautiful Towers to Pray and Roost in from the Melted Stone and Metals using their Magics on the Volcanic Magma flows found in their lands.

Only on Machu Tolo do they refrain from making any more, as only the Tower of the Gods adorns that Sacred Volcano.

I was thinking Feathers on the Crest on the Head and along the Spine.

What do you think?
>>
>>3391364
That's cool. Heres some history I came up with for them: Long ago there were nations around the world that looked similar to this one. A great fire came from the sky, sent by Tlaxcala herself, and it wiped out all the great and ancient kingdoms and wiped magic from the land. After many years, magic returned to the world and new nations are formed, with the Fire Raptors being a distant memory of a long forgotten order. That could be some lore to explain why dino's and mammals are coexisting

Lore: For years the Urduk-Glarr have lived their lives in this land, life changing little from one generation to the next. They gathered food, they hunted, fought their petty little disputes for the pack with little thought for outside world (Or any thought at all for that matter). Yet even in these long past days, there was a spark. It was a spark that showed itself every time one of them fashioned a crude spear to hunt for fish. It was a spark that showed himself whenever a member of the band died, and all gathered to pay their respects. And it was a spark that showed themselves in the screeches and hoots they called out to each other, almost akin to a language.

It was small to be sure, yet as the millennia passed, the spark was nurtured, allowed to grow. It wasn't something they would (Or could) notice, yet with each and every passing generation, they put a little more thought into their actions, observed the world just a little more closely. And at last, this gradual process has reached its culmination: for now, without even realising the change themselves, the Urduk-Glarr are sapient.

What will this mean for these people? Will they destroy themselves, their strength and knowledge corrupted for the use of warfare and little more? Or will they build a strong, powerful kingdom that is certain to last the centuries? Only time shall tell...

Action 1: Attempt to invent fire

Every now and then in the forests, a great lightning storm will occur, bolts of energy shooting down with the heavens to incinerate and enflame all that they touch. Most fascinating of all though is the Red Flower, a thing that burns all it touches. To some it is terrifying, yet others have noticed that the meat of those beasts that have been consumed by it is most certainly much tastier. Thus it occurs to the Chimpanzees: what if they could harness it? Create it? Use it for their own benefit? It would take much experimentation, but the results could be amazing...

Action 2: Form a tribal system of government, with a council of Chimps at the head

As Urduk-Glarr grows ever larger with the influx of new inhabitants, a problem is beginning to grow: the problem of leadership. Before, the old simple of animalistic bands was all well and good, but it is growing more clear than ever now that this is something unsuitable for heading such large groups of Chimpanzees. Thus it is that some are suggesting the creation of a tribal council, one that can properly rule over Urduk-Glarr. A simple form of government, but the first this region will ever have seen.

An like coiling dark smoke if feeds itself into all the clear minds before it, digging itself deep into those creatures. A burst of blue fire spurts forth from the pebble and a low chuckle echos outward as the child is consumed in its heat-less flames.

“ The sacrifice is plenty, and the meat so fresh. I come at a call and at deaths Behest” The flames disappear from what was once the young raptor. Now only the ghostly figure of a Green scaled raptor stands naked before you. “ Now I’ll claim the rest.”

(let's spend one action point on making Jorkive the leader of whole pack) Great leadership and magic skills of Jorkive gained him great fame in his pack. He now aims to become the alpha, and lead the nation towards.

(and the second one on... Making snow boards so my wolves can use these boards for hunting and derping around!) Many wolves thought about a way to move faster so they can catch their prey more easily... But when one puppy by accident slided down on a wooden log, there came the idea of snowboards! He is going to be the one inventing this fun and great for hunting items!!

Action 2: Continue to attempt to form tribal council government

The disputes continue, on and on and on. Yet despite all that is brought up, little is done, little remembered, few satisfied. Still the chimpanzees continue now, for what else cna they do? These early stages have only highlighted the great inefficiency of their current system, and if there is one thing they can always do, it is to stubbornly keep on going until they finally come to a solution.

Year 1 Month 4

Action 1&2

" This war between are brothers has gone on too long" gruffs a silver furred monster of a bear
Brukden had seen to much blood soiled over petty differences in these months the nations have been to chaos. They needed a leader, one who was not afraid to force the change needed to get the desired outcomes and the aged bear knew he would be the one to take that position.
Deep in the forest he brought his commanders and in a dark cave he showed them his greatest discovery. A little red mushroom that glows ever so slightly in the corner of the cave. " What manner of foolishness is this?" Barked one of the commanders " No foolishness, it is a powerful weapon, you doubt me so highly though so why don't you go bring it here and I'll show you?" Brukden says with a gleam in his eye. The commander scoffs at the elder bear, clearly losing his mind, and makes his way toward the lone mushroom. As he nears a few feet from it something strange happens, the commanders side suddenly burst into flame causes him to yell out. he rushes forward without thinking and the closer he gets to the mushroom the more the fire spreads swiftly turning him to nothing but a pile of charred bones.

The other Commanders of Brukdens army stare in horror. " You see the mushroom is harmless, but the spores it make are highly reactive to other organic matter. We will use this to are advantage, and claim this land for the betterment of all." The large bear stares at his officers with steely eyes in till one speaks up
" H-how?"
Brukden smiles " Any means necessary"

The next battle was met at what would have been the site of the bears capitol, what was left of the rival factions faced each other, all ready to end the fighting this day. The charge was pressed and the bears met in bloody combat in the forest of their home. Teeth bite into flesh , and claws ripped off chunks of fur and fat the battle was going like most of the others, but that changed when a bear which had wondered into the field of battle looking in pain burst into a brilliant explosion of fire. Then another one in the distance, and another, another, another, the forest was rife with fire and sounds of exploding bears that consumed everything. All sides of the battle ran, but had no where to go, trapped by the fire that now crawled toward them, a death waiting to claim their lives.

A lone figure stood on a cliff safely away overlooking the blaze take down the whole forest, the other factions and his own army.

Brukden slump through the ashen fields where the battle had taken place, the coals still warm under his paw and bones blacken by fire scattered about. His only surviving general followed behind him. " What now? the spoke .

" We rise from this ash, we make are place and I make sure those who would bring the new order down burn in agony like those who did today." A woefully filled Brukden moves through the coal fields, letting the ash make his new coat.

the other chimps gather sticks and dried brush together and try to get the red flower to jump towards these. Still untrained on how the fire works though this red flower quickly spreads to the forest, burning down what food lay there.

the arguing of the chimps becomes quite fierce, and they do not take notice of the lumbering forms of the great tigers who surround them. " Loud monkeys all in a bowl, why do you fight here so?" speaks the calm voice of a golden tigress covered in silks. " There is no need to worry on who leads you for its quite clear it must be I." She muses laying at the edge of the incline before them. The chimp leaders disagree with her though and several of them rush forward to strike at the great beast with their spears. The tigress nods and they are set upon by the other tigers there who quickly take them down. " no need to be so digressive monkeys , I'll leave" She gets up from her perch, stretches and as she leaves she says " An for those of you left do consider my offer, I hate to waste good food." as she finishes her body guard beset the council and slaughter many only leaving a handful to ponder on her words.

Year 1, Month 6

Action 1
What a sad way to end a year. No one expected that what started out as a fun and morale-boosting hunting would end as a bloody massacre. As the pack is overwhelmed with huge sadness and pain, they bury their close ones. Many families left without father or mother.
"Together we rise, and together we fall." said one of the elders, standing on the hill down of which were burried the dead wolves. As the whole nation is in mourning and fear of what may happen on the next hunt, many wolves stop hunting for some time (-10 food).

Action 2
After last mass hunting's massacre, the elder wolves decided what to do, so it won't happen again. After many weeks of thinking, they got an idea for a great defensive strategy! When attacked from many sides or from an unknown side, the wolves will form a circle, standing tightly next to eachother, and beinng able to defend itself and wolves next to them!
Soon after this many pups and adult wolves are now taught this strategy, which will now provide better safety on the hunts (+5 defense).

Year 1, Month 6

Action 1
The nation of Xochiluatl could no longer stand the curse, and the devastation that the demon have left on their people. BUT NO LONGER. The justice have to be served. Raptors began singing and dancing and praying, to summon their ancestors, so they can help them in their time of need, to defeat the dark spirit.
And they have succeeded in summoninng them! Now, awakened as guardians, they shall bring an end to the demon's terror!
Already knowing what to do, the guardians one after another, left to seek the troublemaker. But as it turned out, they didn't have to - the demon appeared by itself. A fight between the swift demon and heavy guardians began... and after a long fight and many stone guardians bodies destroyed... they defeated the demon and he have been finally captured.

Action 2
And as they see that the sun rising slowly, guardians slowly walk with the demon to the shrine in order to sacrifice it, and raptors walk behind them, shamans, waiting at the sacrifice to start the sacrifice and get rid of evil spirit. They finally bringed the foul spirit, and shamans started calling out for their goddess - Tlaxcala as loud as they could.
For a moment, there was only silence, and nothing else. "What now?" some raptors said, confused and scared. "Was it all just for nothing?". But... as the sun finally rised, and the night was no more, a bright light appeared above the shrine, the demon screeched loudly like it was in an enormous pain. But in only a few seconds - both the light annd the demon dissapeared, and the guardians fell down turning to rocks once again. The curse... was finally over, and the demon gone. (no more curse! yay! All hail the Tlaxcala!).

Action 1
Wondering what use could sprouts of young trees have beside cleaning your teeth with it and hitting eachother with it for fun, many bears ripped off some of these sprouts, trying to make something out of them. They try putting them together, putting them on top of eachother... but nothing seems to be of any use. Tired of stacking sprouts in different positions, they come back to cleaning their teeth and slapping eachother with them instead (inventing art of wicker - 1/3 [in progress]).

Action 2
Trees are such a tough things... and yet these axes can cut them down! What if we could use them for... hunting for example? If they can do so much to a tree, just imagine what it could do to a bison! - that's what one bear thought of, while cutting down a tree. Sharing his idea with his bear friends, they sharpened their blades, and went out to test it out. To no one's surprise, hunting was so much more successfull with them! Few weeks after this, seeing a bear chasing down a deer or other animal, was just as normal as seeing little bears slapping eachother's heads with tree sprouts (+3 food, +1 tech [only 2 because they are basically the same tools, just usedfor something else] +5 power).

Cool Write up Shiber!

It should be Turn 5 for the Xochiluatl though....

The Success with the Rune Magic, Ancestors and Metal Statues.... what increase to Tech and Magic did that give?

Did the Proof of the Goddess give a bonus to Religion in some way?

Here's the "patched" version of a previous post for the raptors... I was very tired and didn't think much.

Xochiluatl
Year 1, Month 4

Action 2
And as they see that the sun rising slowly, guardians slowly walk with the demon to the shrine in order to sacrifice it, and raptors walk behind them, shamans, waiting at the shrine to start the sacrifice and get rid of evil spirit.
But in only a few seconds - both the light annd the demon dissapeared, and the guardians fell down turning to metal statues once again. The curse... was finally over, and the demon gone. (no more curse! yay! All hail the Tlaxcala!).

It says turn 4 though
Yeah the raptors discovered it, but they don't really know how all of it works yet, so you will have to make an another action to actually "invent" it. But let's say +5 to magic.
