I GM on saturdays and just got home. You guys wanna go into the jungle and look for the new plant queens, or skip it and start by summoning them, implying we are coming back from it?
>>
>>3355245
I'd like to see what they're like in the wild, since normally plants never evolve this high.

Alrighty. Anyone else?

Half a day after the black moon portal has closed, we move the fleet closer to inspect the damage by ourselves.

As you'd expect, the town is gone, having been bombarded by three nation's navies(*) while being overrun by an army of interdimansional neverborn.

Well, the important bit is that nobody is dead.

There's barely any fire or smoke left now, the bombardment having quite thoroughly ignited and snuffed and then reignited anything flammable already. Its just a pile of rubble now, with streets barely recognizable as such.

Ah, that's the bench where we had some treats with Mako that one evening we came to have fun together. Well, the rough area where it was, anyway.

"Shouldn't there be some [ERROR]s still around?" - asks Aritsu after sighing over the devastation
"I doubt it." - replies Lyann - "They were all moving towards the fortress, and those who didn't, went to the jungle, after all."

Let's not assume that [ERROR]'s are as stupid as Grandpa.

Yes, that's correct.

>>Look through the city rubble

Thankfully, everyone evacuated, so there's no blood or bodies. The [ERROR]s aside, of course, and their bodies dissolve quickly, so unless someone took steps to preserve them, they would melt away in a week or so, anyway.

Aritsu gracefully hops unto a large piece of rubble, then to the ruins of a wall, and from there to a roof... ah, hey, you're a bookworm, scholarly-type mage, aren't you princess? I feel like all the stats and levels she's accumulated have sort of eroded her quiet and secretary-like character type, you know?

Well, it's fine. Fantasy elf girls are meant to be light and graceful like this, after all. I think.

"President, I can see some movement down the street!" - she calls back after looking around for a bit.

Ah, she looks so pretty standing still against the wind, that we were staring for a bit. Her pale gold, long twintails were floating to the side gently, giving her a very charming look.

"Alright, let's go take a look."

Indeed, there's some movement on a pile of rubble. Or rather, coming from under it, but an [ERROR] should be able to phase right through man-made structures, so what's with this?

We move over, and signal the girls to stay back as we look at it.

Ah, well, Lyann is actually higher level than we are, but it comes natural, you know? Anyway, we need to think about it so it doesn't ends collapsing on top of us... wait, is that actually a concern? I mean, we're stupidly strong, aren't we?

Alright, let's see... we grab one of the large chunks of wall and toss it away. Repeat a few times, and we find a strange type of [ERROR].

It has mechanical limbs, like a steampunk octopus, ending in what looks like ruined weapons of some sort... well, this is the first time we've seen them use anything looking like technology, really.

So far, you could say everything about them had been biomechanical or purely based off biological engineering.

Well, it looks like some king of cyborg? Its main body is mostly [ERROR], but large parts of it are covered in some kind of metal, and te 'tentacles' are sprouting out of it.

An easy guess would suggest that its metal body parts didn't allow it to phase through the rubble, but now what?

Get it wrapped around in chains, and have someone get an Isolation Field Pod from the labs back in Albion so that we can keep it separated.

This is a trap option; the mechanical bits are what are keeping it from phasing through materials.

"Alright, I'm sure Zoe and Portia will want to take a look at it while it is 'alive' right?"

We leave Lyann with a dozen soldiers keeping watch over it while we treestride to the university lab and secure a stasis field generator.

It is a rather tricky thing to set up around something that is half buried and trying to break loose, but after a few hours of work, we manage to trap the thing inside it, having set it up as a trap and then dug out the [ERROR] enough that it could pull loose, though with no other escape paths but straight into the field.

And so, it is frozen in the middle of a 'jump', which sort of makes it rather interesting to look at.

"Wah! That was sudden! It moves a lot faster than the ones we've seen before..." - we comment to ourselves
"I think its the mechanical limbs. It probably lets it hold on to terrain better since there's no phasing." - Aritsu walks around it while saying so
"Unless this one is unique, there should be more around. Should we bomb the area again, sir?" - asks one of the officers with us

The [ERROR]s are showing a lot more cunning and intelligence than the Archives, Grandpa, and Tapac said that they would.
This is another intel failure to nail to the older generation.

>No, I want as many specimens as possible.

"Yes sire."

We head to the fort to check on the troops, and pick up Fleur, but...

"Master, I was waiting." - the nametag says Fleur, but aren't these too many changes for just one evolution?

Leggy, shapely, taller, and went from redhead to blonde... well, she still doesn't has 'hair' as such, though. Rather, its a very, very soft cover of golden petals, layered upon each other so they cascade behind her.

And of course, there's no way we can miss on the fact she has wings now. Four of them. Wide and long, the top pair is the larger one, and they're leaf-shaped, while the lower pair looks much, much more delicate, being petal-like, soft-looking and slightly see-through.

Eh... her skin is a lighter tone of peach pink now. We can tell because she literally evolved (grew) out of her little summer dress.

"Hm. Good girl, Fleur." - we try to pat her head, but she's slightly taller than us, plus she's floating a little off the ground, so its kind of hard

Oh, since she's floating in place, I guess she flies with magic rather than her wings.

"Come down so I can pet you," - we're not going to handle her any different just because she looks like she came out from Milo Manara's mind. She's still our cute flower faery
"Yes!" - she replies happily

Ah... she's still a little taller than us. Well, its manageable, it's fine.

Looking at her stat block, her passive looks weird... its blurry.

[Your pet [Fleur] has reached its final evolution, and you can choose an additional passive for her]

[Rowen - Passive] Whenever one of your summons is killed, you may re-sumon it instantly in the same spot for half its original MP cost.

[Mulch - Passive] Whenever one of your summons is killed, you regain twice its MP cost,]

[Overgrowth - Passive] Whenever you use a summoning ability, you call forth two creatures instead of one.

Ah.. I like the three of them... and its easy to guess that having any two of them would be broken... so sad...

Yup, she already has [Abundance], which makes her summon for half cost. Now she can summon twice as much, which means she can call forth four [Thorny Devil]-type monsters for the price of one.

Right now, we need her to summon as many plants as possible, instead of having them go kamikaze or worrying about supporting them.

With that, we go look for the two new [Faery Queen]s in the jungle... but we're looking for a plant in its enviroment.

Hope that Lyann has food in her Item Box, and get some rations from the ship we're on.
Also ask Fleur if she can communicate with other plants without words (essentially ask if she can use pheromones and chemical markers to communicate with other plants. Miel was able to speak with the Dungeon Fairy because she was a Faery, maybe something similar can be done with Fleur).

"Fleur, can you communicate without words?"
"Master, I'm terrible at charades." - she replies innocently
"...alright." - we smooch her

Its not her fault, its just how it is.

"Lyann, do you have food in your inventory?"
"I have sandwiches..."
"I seriously doubt that'll be enough. Please go back to the ship and retrieve rations for... eh... there's two of them, right? So about 50 grown men,"
"!?"
"Its for the new faery queens."
"Are you sure it'll be enough?"
"They should have eaten the [ERROR]s in the jungle, so, hopefully."
"Alright."

Once Lyann comes back, we start walking around and shouting out for the new faeries, until we find one trying to eat a fish school on a closed-off bay, and running back out whenever the waves wet her feet.

"Ugh.. I don't like salt water." - adds Fleur

I see, so as plants, they don't like salt water, is it?

Anyway, the little plant faery running in and out of the shore looks cute. We know she's trying to eat the fish school trapped by low tide, but.. still looks cute.

We prepare a pic nic for 4, with a considerable pile of food on the side.

It isn't long at all before the faery queen notices us and how we're feeding Fleur by hand. Of course she approaches, and we show her how to chew before swallowing, then finally catch her when she's happily chewing her meal(s).

Ah, I wonder why does this reminds me of the zafari sone... probably just my imagination.

[Your new pet name is [Violetta, Confirm Y/N?]

Once we confirm, we open her sheet to look at her stats.

Eh... it sure is nostalgic, uh? Its pretty close to what Fleur was when we first found her. Back then, we had to fight her, though. Violetta seems to be much milder, personality-wise.

Or even more of a glutton? Hard to say.

Sure enough, it isn't very long before we have a second tiny plant faery staring at us from the edge of the jungle. She's actually open-mouthed salivating as she sees us spoon-feeding Fleur and Violetta, isn't she?

Ah, this one has bright, light blue hair. I guess they're color coded, since Violetta is acually a fighter type rather than a summoner.

Well, if they really are, then this little one should be a pure caster? Then again it may be a complete coincidence and they just have different hair colors.

Eh, they look good together, like a young mom and her child... waaait a minute, Fleur didn't actually breed Violetta through the pet system, did she? She came from a seed Fleur planted the old-fashion way, so I guess she is Violetta's mom, actually?

Our elf princess blushes softly, then looks away to the sides as if she was looking for something, then gives up and opens her mouth a little...

"No, no, you have to go 'aaah' with your eyes closed."
"I-is that so?"

we nod nod

"A-alright... a-aaah" - the princess opens a little wider and closes her eyes.

Of course, we take the chance to give her a long, loving kiss. Yup, she's delicious.

We do feed her afterwards, though, then Lyann as well.

After a while, the new faery queen walks over a step at a time.

This one's really skittish, isn't she?

"Ah..." - she gasps softly

I see, like with Fleur back when we found her, she doesn't knows how to talk yet, does she?

"Is that so, president?"
"You are teasing me now, aren't you?"
"A little."

We kiss her

"Alright, now lets see... since we got the [ERROR]s in the area, lets head back to the lab and study them. Ah, and get another stasis field to get that dungeon faery."

With that, we start heading back. All in all, it was a pretty good day. Noone died, and we only lost a city.

Well, things can be replaced, houses can be rebuilt, but life is precious, after all.
