In this quest you play as Wade Wakeman, a 16 year old boy with a heart of gold and the wielder of the Omnitrix. This story is being told in an alternate universe, in which there are no longer any remaining Tennysons. Characters from earlier seasons will appear, but not always in a way that you’d expect.Archive:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Ben+10+QuestLast time: Wade was brought before the council to plead his innocence and offer his help to the Plumbers.Rules:Most dice rolls will be 1d100. Modifiers will be added depending on the situation or on the alien being used. You’re led back into the throne room by the Magistrata’s personal guards, and you look up to see the Galactic council staring down at you.[Novak]: We have made our decision. You tense up a bit, becoming nervous due to Novak’s dramatic pause.[Novak]: We will allow you to assist us. But first, you must endure a trial.[Wade]: A trial?[Mizaru]: Yes. Think of it as an aptitude test of sorts.Mizaru’s big toothy grin makes you even more uneasy. Why would they waste time like this if they actually need your help?[Wade]: What do you want me to do?[Zennith]: You will join one of our Plumbers on a mission. During this mission, he will assess your abilities, personality and risk rating.[Wade]: Risk rating?[Koba]: They’re going to see if it’s worth it to keep you around. Just don’t do anything too stupid.[Moshae]: You may enter. You turn around to see a bipedal, praying mantis entering the throne room. He’s nearly 7 feet tall, with large light-green eyes, a dark green carapace, and sharp mandibles. He looks to inspect you for a moment, before returning his gaze back to the council.[Koba]: Aw, hell…Is he that bad? He looks kinda cool.[Novak]: This is Special Agent Kilik. He will be your partner and chaperone for this mission.[Mizaru]: Kilik is our finest solo operative. Do try not to get in his way. These guys are really starting to piss you off.[Magistrata]: That will be all for now. Once we receive Kilik’s report, we will reconvene for a final judgement. Meeting adjourned. You are dismissed. You see Kilik and Koba bow before the council, so you do the same before leaving with them. After the doors close behind you, you notice Kilik observing you once again.>”Hey, I’m X. Nice to meet you.”>”Lead the way, partner.”>”Sorry for dragging you into this. This isn’t my idea of a good time either.”>”Take a picture. It’ll last longer.”>Write-in.
>>3320613>>”Hey, I’m X. Nice to meet you.”>"Do you have a briefing on what the mission will be yet?"
[Wade]: Hey, I'm X. Nice to meet you.You extend a hand to him, and he stares down at your hand before firmly grasping it. He's not much of a talker.[Wade]: Do you have a briefing on our mission?[Kilik]: Yeah. We're doing a drug bust of Zebhest. Bunch of scumbags operating under the pretense of being a water treatment company.[Koba]: You mean that run-down, toxic waste dump of a planet?[Kilik]: Yeah, that's the one. I got an anonymous tip that they've been carting weapons in and out of a warehouse recently.[Wade]: That doesn't sound good.[Kilik]: No, it doesn't. Let's get a move on.He starts walking down the hallway without looking back to see if you're following him.[Koba]: Be careful, kid. Kilik's one of our top operatives, but his methods can be a bit...extreme.[Wade]: I'll be fine. Can you tell the guys back home that I'll be a little late coming back?[Koba]: No problem. You better hurry, though. Kilik isn't the type to wait for others. You run to catch up to your new partner, and you notice his antennae twitch as you draw closer to him. He leads you to the hangar bay, where you board his ship and strap yourself into the co-pilot's seat. His ship is pretty different from the others, as it possesses two large turbines that make an irritating noise similar to that of a cicada. It even seems to bother the other Plumbers present in the hangar bay. But Kilik pays them no mind as he lifts off the hangar floor and proceeds to exit the space station.[Kilik]: Make sure you don't touch anything. We'll arrive at Zebhest in an hour. You're a bit surprised by him talking to you all of a sudden.>"So, how long have you been a Plumber?">"Which species are you? I've never seen one of you guys before.">"I thought all Plumbers were supposed to have partners. What makes you different?">"You've been on this case for a while, huh?">"Can you tell me a bit more about Zebhest?">Stay quiet for the rest of the trip.>Write-in.

[Wade]: Can you tell me more about Zephest?[Kilik]: It's a big heaping pile of junk and rusted scrap. All the garbage that gets dumped there has made the rivers and lakes toxic. People only go there for cheap parts, cheaper food and shady business. Us Plumber don't like to frequent that sector. But it's my job to check up on the undesirables.[Wade]: You've been on this case for a while, huh?[Kilik]: Couple of months, yeah. It's a waste of time to go after small-time dealers, anyway. You take out the cook, you take out a huge chunk of their business.[Wade]: So, when you say take out...[Kilik]: What?He turns his eyes away from the empty void of space and directs his gaze to you. His tiny insect pupils freak you out a little bit.[Wade]: We should probably make sure we're on the same page when we arrive there. Like, what our plan of action will be.Kilik takes a moment to consider your words.[Kilik]: We grill the locals for info and have them show us where the factory is. We do some sleuthing, and find out if that tip was legit. If we don't find anything wrong, we scout the area for a while longer and put a pin in it for later. But if we do find something, then we bust their operation wide open and trash the place.[Wade]: Non-lethaly you mean.[Kilik]: If possible.[Wade]: Is it ever possible?[Kilik]: Most of the time? No. We're dealing with hardened criminals that won't hesitate to kill you if given the chance. You can't give them that chance. The two of you seem to have conflicting ideals. Hopefully this won't be too much of a problem in the future. You approach Zebhest after carefully avoiding the debris scattered around in orbit. The planet itself is mostly a deep shade of red and brown, with green bodies of water surrounding the dark land masses. Kilik and Koba weren't kidding. This place is a dump! After landing on a nearby hilltop, Kilik exits the ship and places his hand on the side of his head. Suddenly, a strange swarm of green energy sounds his body and scatters throughout the land. This green energy carefully caresses whatever it touches and returns to Kilik.[Kilik]: Okay, the coast is clear. There are some locals in a nearby hut. I'm gonna go ask them a few questions.>Follow his lead on this mission. You need a good mission report.>Follow him to make sure he doesn't do anything too "extreme".>Try to find the warehouse on your own. You run to catch up to him before he leaves you behind, careful to avoid the pools of toxic waste that drown the soil.[Wade]: What was that?[Kilik]: Tiny microscopic parasites that I house in my body. They send me information via bio-electric signals and Indecide what I want them to do. They're like my ears, tongue and teeth. I tell them whether they should eat something or just taste it to see what it is.[Wade]: So you control a bunch of tiny locusts?[Kilik]: Yeah. They can pick stuff up too. As long as the object isn't too heavy. As Kilik explains his ability, the both of you find the village that he mentioned earlier. It appears to be some sort of alien bazaars. It kind of reminds you Undertown, but even more run down.As soon as both of you enter, you receive strange looks from the alien locals around you. Guess they don't like men in uniforms.[Kilik]: Hey, can any of you show me where the Water Treatment plant is? You know the one. It'd be the only one that doesn't smell like a wet Vulpimancer. Very new and noticeable.[Ruffian]: If it's so noticeable, then why don't you go find it yourself?Kilik paises for a moment, before he summons his swarm and lifts the ruffian into the air.[Kilik]: Look pal, we're real short on time here. I'd really appreciate it if you just told me where the plant is.You look behind you and notice that the crowd is growing hostile towards you and Kilik.>Stop Kilik before he starts a fight.>Transform and intimidate the crowd so they back off.>Back up Kilik and get this interrogation over with.>Try and calm everyone down with reason.>Write-in.

The ruffian is placed back down to the ground and the crowd disperses as if nothing ever happened.[Wade]: Now, can you tell us where the factory is?[Ruffian]: Huh? Oh yeah, sure...Kilik stares at you with his large eyes while twitching his mandibles. He must be performing his assessments right now. The ruffian shows you a map of the area you're in and gives you clear directions of where you can find the new factory.[Wade]: You think he's telling the truth?[Kilik]: He better be. Or we'll have to pay him another visit. You notice that the path leading to the factory is blocked by a toxic lake. Kilik can fly, and so can you, but he rented some hover bikes for the both of you anyway. It took some getting used to, since the throttle was super sensitive and almost threw you off a couple of times, but you finally managed to get the hang of it a few minutes after practice. Kilik does that mandible clicking thing he was doing before. At least now you know he has a tell for when he's judging you.You both ride your vehicles over the green lake, while maintaining a safe distance from one another. When suddenly, a grotesque pig-like creature emerges from the depths and swats at your vehicle. You barely manage to avoid it and maintain your balance, while Kilik is swiftly avoiding the others that are attacking him.>Transform into an alien and take these guys out! You swerve violently in order to avoid the river monsters, but one of them manages to clip the back of your bike, sending you flying towards the gaping maw of a hippo-like alien. Fortunately for you, the creature tries to bite at you too early, and you land on top of his head. You find it difficult to hang on to the hippo's wet, slippery body.Another hippo alien jumps out of the toxic water and attempts to slam his massive body on top of you, so you jump in order to get away from them. You hold your breath in anticipation of making contact with the toxic lake, only to be saved by Kilik just in the nick of time. He's abandoned his hover bike and spread his wings to fly you over the lake. The sour smell from this putrid body of water is powerful enough to burn your nostrils just from breathing it in.[Wade]: Um, thanks for that.[Kilik]: Do not thank me. I was only remedying my mistake. The swarm cannot detect life-forms that dwell underwater.[Wade]: Well at least we made it out alive.[Kilik]: Hmm, yes. But we will now have to pay extra for those bike rentals.[Wade]: I'm...actually pretty low on Taydens at the moment.[Kilik]: Hmm. I will have to address the issue of my reimbursement to the council once this is over.Kilik sets you down on the other side of the lake and takes a moment to rest. It must be exhausting for him to have to fly while carrying someone else.[Kilik]: We need to keep moving. The factory should be another 30 clicks from here. You both begin walking through the treacherous marshy terrain. You find it difficult to find your footing in all this muck.>Transform into an alien to make the journey easier.>Offer to carry Kilik as one of your aliens. Kilik deserves a break after that whole display. You transform into Big Chill in a purple flash, and fly in front of Kilik.[Wade]: Let me give you a lift.[Kilik]: Why?[Wade]: It's gonna take forever to reach the factory on foot. And your wings aren't strong enough to carry the both of us.Kilik pauses to consider your offer. You glance over at his torn and tattered wings. He must've taken a lot of punishment for them to get in such terrible shape.[Wade]: Just think of it as me "remedying my mistake".[Kilik]: Very well. You fly behind him and lift him up by his waist. You quickly fly through the swamp with ease, unimpeded by the slick mud beneath you. You hear Kilik making that clicking sound again. You hope he's thinking nice thoughts. After about 7 minutes, you reach the water treatment plant. You see several of the plant's workers loading ships with heavy barrels.[Kilik]: Bet those barrels are filled with Pixie Dust.[Wade]: Pixie Dust?[Kilik]: A course powder that can be collected from the forest floor of Nemuina. You can grind it up into a fine dust and ingest it through your nose. Gives you intense hallucinations and even crazier dreams. Comes at a price, though. Rots your brains and makes it difficult to differentiate dream from reality. Drives people nuts eventually.[Wade]: What do we do?[Kilik]: What do you think we should do?Really? Now's not the best time to continue your assessment!>Do some recon with Big Chill and see what you can find in the factory.>Time out early and stake out the factory until your watch recharges.>Tunnel underneath the plant with Snapdragon.>Run inside the facility with...A KINECELERAN?!>Sneak inside with Grey Matter. [Wade]: Let me get a closer look and see what I can find.[Kilik]: Do you need a communicator? You grin and tap the Omnitrix symbol on your chest.[Wade]: Already got one.You go intangible and fly into the factory without anyone seeing you. You've only got 3 more minutes left as Big Chill, so you've gotta do this fast and efficiently. You see a group of well armed guards patrolling the area, while the workers receive orders from a tall, well-armed android. It might be possible to eavesdrop on their conversation. You also notice that one of the workers is fiddling with a shipping manifest of some sort. It might be possible to take it while he isn't looking, but that would involve waiting patiently and distracting him. Or you could just look over his shoulder.>Eavesdrop on the android's conversation. You fly over to the worker so you can read the manifest over his shoulder. He's a chubby man with green skin and a big nose. You won't be able to find out much, but at least you have a smaller chance of being found out. From the looks of it, they're planning on shipping this stuff to 3 separate planets and locations. Rishi, Nar' Shaday, and some place called "The Fringes". Maybe its too risky to transport it all in one ship?[Shipping Manager]: Man, they really cranked up the AC in here. You back up a little bit so he doesn't sense your presence. Before he turns to leave, you see that they're keeping tabs on something in the lower levels. Something with a timer...The worker turns around to go talk to someone, and you fly away to avoid arousing suspicion. The android from before appears to have finished his conversation with the workers. You've probably got about a minute and a half left on the watch. Maybe less? You weren't keeping track of time while reading.>Return to Kilik and report your findings.>Investigate the mysterious device in the lower levels.>Find a safe place to time out and wait for your watch to recharge.>Plan a pincer attack from both sides. You fly to a higher, less populated floor and time out after you confirm that there's no one around. You open up your watch and set it to act as a communicator.[Wade]: Hey Kilik, I'm in.[Kilik]: What did you find?[Wade]: At least 20 armed guards, some big robot giving them directions, and a shipping manifest that says they're going to ship this stuff to 3 different planets.[Kilik]: Strange. Which planets?[Wade]: Rishi, Nar' Shaday, and some place called "The Fringes".[Kilik]: The Fringes?! Why would they go through so much effort to transport narcotics to the Outer Rim?[Wade]: Beats me. You're the specialist here.[Kilik]: Anything else to report?[Wade]: One more thing. They've got something in the basement, and It's got a timer on it.[Kilik]: Could be an explosive. But they would not benefit from drawing attention to themselves. Must be something else.[Wade]: What should we do?There's a long silence over the radio. Is he waiting for you to suggest something?[Wade]: What? Seriously?! Can't we do this later?[Kilik]: Decisions made in the face of danger reveal a creature's true nature.[Wade]: Ugh, fine...>Use Upgrade to take control of the android and use him against his allies.>Use Knuckle Duster to throw these heavy barrels at the guards.>Use Big Chill to infiltrate the lower levels and inspect the mysterious device.>Use Bloodrush to pick off the guards one by one.>Use Grey Matter to disable their vehicles and transports.>Use Zipmunk to disable the guard's weapons.>Suggest Kilik assist you with his swarm.(Write-in.)>Write-in.This vote will be left open until the next session tomorrow at 5pm EST.

[Wade]: I’m gonna sabotage their ships and transports.[Kilik]: Smart move. That way, they won’t be able to escape or transport the Pixie Dust onto their ships. You hang up and select Grey Matter in your Omnitrix, before slamming down onto the Omnitrix core. You shrink down considerably and jump from the top floor, landing on top of a wooden crate in the corner of the room. No one notices you as you crawl underneath the forklifts to sabotage them, and while they’re busy concerning themselves with that, you disable the engines in their ships. A trivial task for a being of your vast intellect, really. Getting around as Grey Matter is easier than you thought, due to his surprisingly powerful legs and his ability to crawl on flat surfaces. The alien cyborg from before is getting irritated by the constant setbacks, and orders some plant alien to put the guards on high alert. He reminds you of a Florauna, but his appearance is closer to a mushroom, due to his spotted white pattern and wide red cap. He carries a rifle that appears to be fused to his body. The rest of the guards are now being more cautious and thorough during their patrol. The cyborg gets to work on repairing the disabled transports. But most of all, she's gullible. She throws her grenades at you, but you manage to jump out of the blast radius just in time. The blast from the grenades should be enough to knock the centrifuge loose.[Wade]: If my calculations are correct...The resulting explosion knocks the centrifuge loose, sending the cylindrical chunk of metal hurtling through the factory. It bounces from wall to wall, rolling over the nearby guards and workers. The Chanterelian attempts to escape by stretching her arm to a crowded platform, but she's flattened by the centrifuge before she can get away, taking down the platform and everyone on it in the process. The runaway centrifuge proceeds to take out the remaining guards, while a couple more of them run outside to avoid the oncoming carnage. The cylinder stops right in front of you, just as you predicted.[Wade]: That should happen. You smugly clap your hands together and time out before checking the area. Several gunshots can be heard outside, followed by brief agonizing screams. You run to inspect the scenario, and see Kilik using his swarm to pierce the hearts of several men. It was somewhat slow when you saw him use it before, but you had no idea he could use them as projectiles. You pause for a moment to compose yourself. You really didn't think you'd have to watch someone die like that. Kilik notices this, but he does not click his mandibles this time. Instead, he appears to express interest in the way you're reacting to the violence around you.Once you calm yourself down, you take a look around the area to inspect the bodies.[Wade]: ...That all of them?[Kilik]: I believe so.[Wade]: Was it possible to incapacitate them instead of killing them?[Kilik]: Hmm. Possibly.A man darts from behind a crate and runs away from you and Kilik. Your chaperone reacts by sending his swarm over to the man with impressive speed. You try to cover your eyes or look away from the inevitable gruesome death, but it never comes. The swarm simply throws a crate at the man and knocks him out. You breathe a sigh of relief.[Kilik]: I am quite capable of reason and mercy. However, I tend to follow my instincts when I work. It keeps me alive.[Wade]: Your instincts tell you to kill everyone around you? Those harsh words just kind of slipped out of your mouth, but you don't regret saying them. Kilik stares at you, not with contempt or anger, but with a glint of amusement in his eyes.[Kilik]: There is a reason I requested to work alone. As a member of my species, I would be considered docile. He walks past you and enters the factory, ignoring your feelings on the matter. The thought of Kilik being a bit of an unhinged psychopath crosses your mid. His beady eyes scan the unconscious bodies that litter the floor, and he examines the wreckage from your fight with the cyborg and the plant lady.[Kilik]: Hmm. Nicely done. All bodies still breathing. You decide to scan the more interesting aliens that are passed out on the ground.[Trixy]: DNA acquired: Pisciss Premann(Nephropidae variant), Florauna(Mycellium variant)You had no idea that you could acquire variant DNA samples for aliens that you had already scanned. You'll have to ask Azmuth how this whole scanning thing works when you find him. There's one more sample that you wouldn't mind having in your watch. You look over to Kilik and see him using his handcuffs to subdue the passed out guards. Would it be rude to ask him if you can scan him? Maybe you should just do it while he isn't looking...Memories of watching Kilik kill those guys flash through your mind. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to surprise him or give him a reason to distrust you.[Wade]: Hey Kilik, would it be ok if I scanned you to get a DNA sample?[Kilik]: Why?[Wade]: I like to collect DNA samples of strong and interesting aliens. If you don't want to-[Kilik]: It's quite alright. You may scan me if you wish to do so.[Wade]: Wait, really?[Kilik]: It should be interesting to have my DNA recorded in the Omnitrix. Should my species die out, I will be comforted knowing that they will live on in The Ark.[Wade]: The what?[Kilik]: My species refers to devices such as the Omnitrix as "Arks". They are created to preserve a species in the event of impending doom.[Wade]: I knew there were other Omnitrices out there, but how do you know?[Kilik]: Do you think Azmuth was the first being to invent an Ark? There have been many before his, and there will be many more after his. He did however, create the most massive one to be recorded in galactic history.[Wade]: What was that you were saying earlier about impending doom?[Kilik]: Arks are created as a precaution in the face of impending doom. Considering the tone of the council, things are not looking well for us Plumbers. If D'Traxus wins, he will not spare anyone who opposes him. Do try not to lose when you face him.You become quiet for a moment, mulling over what Kilik told you. Is the Omnitrix really an Ark. Was Azmuth really giving up and running away like everyone's been telling you? You look up to see Kilik waiting for you to scan him, so you take his sample to get it over with.[Trixy]: DNA sample acquired: Acrid GregariaYou'll have to test him out later. Now you should be looking for clues. You open up your watch, move the cursor over to XLR8 and slam down on the Omnitrix's core. Your legs bend backwards, your feet and toes curve to accommodate for the pearls beneath them, and you feel a tail pop out from your lower back.[Wade]: Thanks for the scan. Gonna go check the rest of the plant, while you tie up the plant. You point to the plant lady and run off to see what you can find in this facility.(Continued in Next Post)
If the Omnitrix turns us into the Captain America equivalent of a species then is XLR8 Wade a dreamboat to K8-E?
>>3324168(You are the ideal Chad Kineceleran. The alien equivalent of a human that's so beautiful, you know they're either using tons of makeup or are photo-shopped to be perfect.)You race through poorly lit hallways, scanning for life-signs with your visor as you inspect each room. You don't find anything too suspicious at first, but then you come across the crates filled with weapons. They've got everything from Plasma rifles to Ion Cannons. It's enough to supply a militia! Why's they need all this stuff if they're just transporting drugs across the galaxy? You should look around some more. After rummaging through these dusty filing cabinets and office desks, you find a datapad much like the one that the shipping manager was using before. You try to open it, only to find that it's encrypted. Might as well try every possible combination. This might take a while. You quickly punch in codes as you run back to Kilik. By the time you reach him, you've cracked the encryption and accessed the files within the datapad.[Kilik]: That was fast.[Wade]: It wasn't hard to find the weapons they had stashed away. What's interesting is the info on this datapad. Looks like they were planning on sending all these weapons and supplies to separate planets and locations to throw off the Plumbers. The drugs were mostly a distraction and a way to make money on the side. But what they were really developing was chemical weapon that caused wild hallucinations and mass hysteria. I don't recognize any of these coordinates though...[Kilik]: Let me see that.Kilik snatches the datapad from you and quickly skims through it.[Kilik]: This was never meant to be a drug bust...[Wade]: What do you mean? You hear the sound of several ships approaching the factory.[Wade]: Backup?[Kilik]: No. They're cleaners! We need to get out of here! You hear the familiar sound of large projectile ripping through the wind, fast approaching. Missiles! You need to act fast!>Get yourself and Kilik out of there!>Get everyone out of here! It'll take a while, but you're not letting anyone die!>Tell Kilik to retreat to the lower levels as you bring the rest of the prisoners down there for safety.>Create a massive cyclone by running around the factory, and use the wind pressure to redirect the missiles. >100!No one's dying on your watch! Kilik tries to fly in the opposite direction, but he's moving really really slowly. Wait...You're just moving really really fast! You grab as many people as you can carry, and bring them a safe distance away from the factory. You run back and forth, dragging people outside and going back for the rest. Because they're already unconscious, you don't have to be careful with how fast you're running, so long as you don't give them whiplash. You keep a close eye on the missiles, making sure that they're far enough away from the building that you don't have to worry. You grab Kilik last, and hold his wings down so they don't get torn apart by the wind shear.Once you're far enough away from the factory, you breathe a sigh of relief and let your heart rate go down as time flows normally once more. The factory you were in mere milliseconds ago is blown to pieces as a large plume of flame and toxic water rise to the sky, before raining down on the scorched rubble once more. You don't recognize the ships that fired at you, but maybe Kilik would know more.[Kilik]: What happened?![Wade]: I carried everyone out. They probably think we're all dead.[Kilik]: Good. Let's keep it that way. We need to return to Plumber HQ immediately.[Wade]: Why? We have bigger problems right now.[Kilik]: No, we don't. There's a traitor on the council, and they're trying to cover their tracks by getting rid of us.Session EndThanks for Playing! [Wade]: How’d you come up with a crazy theory like that?[Kilik]: I’ve been on this case for a while now, and this datapad contains classified information of Plumber patrols and bases.[Wade]: So? That could just mean that you’ve got a regular old, dirty cop on the force.[Kilik]: They’ve got Level 1 clearance codes logged in here. They’re a bit outdated, but I definitely recognize the sequence pattern. Either we’ve got a crafty crook of a Magister, or a member of the council is playing us. Neither of those scenarios are favorable. You’ve never heard Kilik get this emotional before. This must be a massive breakthrough for him. It’s a pretty far-fetched one though. What do you think of what he’s told you?>You believe him. He hasn’t given you a reason to distrust him yet.>You’re having trouble believing that this was all set up by a member of the Galactic council.>”Which one do you think it is?”>”Do you think we can get some information from the guys that attacked us? [Wade]: So if we can bring the datapad back with us, then that'd be enough evidence for us to prove something's up in Plumber HQ. Maybe one of these guys can provide a testimony.[Kilik]: That's the plan. But I'm not even sure if these goons would even know who they're really working for.[Wade]: Well what about those guys? Their ships are still here. You point to the ships that are hovering over the destroyed factory. They must be confirming your deaths.[Kilik]: Hmm. You make a good point. But how will we-[Wade]: Oh! Hold that thought! You check the map that you had received earlier, and use it to locate the local law enforcement. As XLR8, you single-handedly carry each and every one of the prisoners to an unassuming town guard. He'll probably have a hard time with all the paperwork that'll be involved, but he'll just have to do his part for the time being. When you return, you find Kilik is patiently waiting for you.[Wade]: I dropped them all off.[Kilik]: Nice work. You adapt well to new situations. He clicks his mandibles together once more.[Wade]: Thanks. >98[Wade]: I'm on it!You begin running in circles at an incredible speed, creating a cyclone that produces powerful updrafts. The enemy ships attempt to fly out of it, but they just don't have the juice. They must be piloting aircraft meant for non-atmospheric flight. Otherwise, they would've stood a better chance. They try shooting at you to get you to stop running, but all of their shots go wide. They don't even come close to touching you. Eventually, they spin completely out of control, smash into one another and violently crash to the ground. You run over to the wreckage to check for survivors, and fortunately, you didn't kill anyone with your little stunt. One of the survivors attempts to pull a gun on you, but you disarm him with a quick flick of your tail.[Merc]: W-what do you want? The mercenary winces in pain and clutches his leg tightly. He seems to have broken it during the crash.>"Tell me who hired you!">"If you tell me who you're working for, I can get you some medical attention.">"There's no way this ship is capable of atmospheric flight. Good luck swimming back. You pretend to turn around to scare him a bit.[Merc]: W-wait! I'll talk!Bingo.[Wade]: I'm listening.[Merc]: A few weeks ago, we were hired by some guy who called himself "The Big Man". He didn't show his face, and paid us in advance. We usually don't take jobs like that, since we don't have a way to vet our clients if they never show up personally or use an alias. But, man you should've seen the cash he flashed in our faces...He gazes off into the distance for a moment, losing track of what he was saying. You clear your throat to get him back on track.[Merc]: Uh, right. So, he ordered us to stay here for a while and wait for some Plumbers to show up and bust the joint. I'm guessing that's you guys.[Wade]: Anything else?[Merc]: He gave us enough to buy these snazzy new ships and camp out here for the next year and a half. We were actually taking bets on whether you guys would show up or not.[Kilik]: Well that doesn't tell us anything. How did he contact you?Kilik silently approaches you from behind.[Merc]: He sent a drone to deliver an encrypted message. I think we still have it at our place. The thing kinda just self-destructed after it delivered the message.[Kilik]: Is it still there?[Merc]: Well we never bothered to toss it out, so yeah.[Kilik]: What did it look like?[Merc]: N-0BL3 unit. Real sleek and classy unit.[Kilik]: Only a handful of those drones are made each year. And each one has its own unique signature based on the manufacturer. Should be real easy to trace it back to its original owner. That drone may have erased it's memory banks, but if we can retrieve it-[Wade]: Then we can figure out where they bought it![Merc]: Wow. I never would've thought of that.[Kilik]: So, what's the plan?>Get these guys to safety and head straight for their base. They might be able to provide you with the coordinates.>Report back to Plumber HQ about your current situation. They should know that there's something weird going on.>Contact Koba. The mercenaries you apprehended didn't move from much while you were on the phone. You help Kilik load everyone onto the ship and drop them off to the town guards. These guys will have to be transferred to a Plumber regulated prison later on.[Kilik]: Before we go, I need the coordinates to your base.[Merc]: What?! No way am I giving you directions to my bachelor pad![Kilik]: You have two options. Either tell me where it is, or I eat your head.[Merc]: Ha! Time to intervene as good cop.[Wade]: I'd do what he says if I were you. Your head wouldn't be the first one he's eaten today.[Merc]: Alright already! I get it. They're politicians. You wait for your joke to land, but you're only met with a confused stare and the chirping of a cricket. How'd a cricket even get in here?!You then notice that it's just Kilik rubbing the tips of his wings together.[Kilik]: I apologize. The base of my wings tend to get rather itchy and irritated. You're not even sure if he's trying to be funny or not. This guy doesn't really emote much. There's a bit of an uncomfortable silence that falls upon the cockpit as The Cicada lifts off.[Wade]: So are we still doing the assessment? If so, how am I doing so far?Kilik turns to you and clicks his mandible for a moment.[Kilik]: You are a fast learner. You have the potential and disposition to be a brilliant strategist and negotiator. You appear to have some level of combat training, and you are able to adapt very quickly. You are fairly intelligent for a human, and you show potential for growth. All in all, you are very capable and dependable. You didn't think he'd give you so much praise. It's kinda overwhelming to be honest.[Kilik]: But...Oh no. There's a but![Kilik]: You tend to rely only on yourself. While you are quite capable, you are likely to find yourself in a situation that does not give you an immediate advantage over your opponent. A Plumber must rely on his allies in order to succeed during times of distress.Well that kinda deflated your ego.[Wade]: Oh...well I'll try to work on that.[Kilik]: But...that is what I will be reporting to the council. It is what they want to hear, and it is what they teach at the academies. It is not what I think.[Wade]: And what do you think?[Kilik]: Working alone allows you to focus on the task at hand. You do not need to worry about others. Only your life is on the line. Makes things easier for everyone. Isolating yourself can also mean that you wish to minimize the risk and casualties on the job. And for someone so powerful, you are kind and merciful. Truly impressive. At least, that's what I think. You can't help but smile at your strange chaperone, and you swear he does the same for a brief moment before turning back to his console.[Kilik]: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the assessment will be put on hold until further notice. Shall we depart?[Wade]: Lead the way.Kilik sets the course and The Cicada jumps to hyperspace in an instant, sending you far away from this trash heap of a planet. Good riddance.(Session Ending in Next Post)
Meanwhile...Coyote lays on the floor of his cell, shivering in a pool of blood spilled from self-inflicted harm. His body is covered in black fur, cuts, bruises and welts. He cannot stand the fact that the Coyote is overtaking his mind and body, so he pummels his body relentlessly. His cries for help fall on deaf ears, as the guards stopped responding long ago. They do not know how to help him.Suddenly, he hears faint whispers. A shrill voice calls out to him, and motivates him to stand tall once more. He has grown considerably since he last met Wade. His muscles now more dense and pronounced. His eyes now white and cloudy like a full moon on a warm summer night. His hands now claws with leathery pads on his palms and fingers. His nose grew into a pointed snout, while his teeth fell out and were replaced by razor sharp fangs. He was now more monster than man.He walked over to the wall, and ran his rough hands along the mad carvings he etched into it. He finally understood what it all meant. The dreams. The hallucinations. The delusions. Everything he had ever done was leading up to this one moment. It was all so clear to him.[Coyote]: I understand. His voice comes out as a faint whisper. His parched throat is strained and his dry lips struggle to form the words properly. As the guards return to feed their abused prisoner, they do not find him inside. Only the bloody paw prints leading to his mad carvings. The Coyote was gone.Session End.Thanks for Playing! Hope you guys enjoyed it.The next session will take place on Sunday at 4pm EST.
You and Kilik land on a run-down space station that was about half an hour away. As soon as you exit the ship, a putrid odor assaults your senses and almost makes you gag.[Kilik]: I know the feeling. No point risking your neck for a small crime.[Wade]: Hey Slate, go check it out for me.He barks at you and runs around the corner. After this, you hear confused screams and blaster shots. Slate returns shortly afterward, dragging a tall green alien by his leg. You see a scared woman run out of the alleyway behind Slate.[Thug]: Let of of me you little-He cuts himself off and his eyes go wide upon noticing Kilik. A space cop in these parts must be pretty rare. The thug drops his cloak and runs into a crowd to avoid being arrested. Kilik picks up the dropped cloak and puts it on to hide his uniform.[Wade]: Good boy!You scratch your dog behind his ears to reward him for his bravery.[Kilik]: Come on. To reach the gideout we have to go deeper into the city. That's where the real trouble is.According to Kilik, the inner city is filled with mercenaries, assassins and gangsters. You might want to take on a more intimidating form.>Turn into Knuckle Duster. You doubt anyone would wanna mess with a member of his species.>Turn into Bat-a-Boom. >>3337779>Turn into Spin Cycle. Having eyes everywhere could prove to be useful.
Spin Cycle should do the trick! You open up your watch, select Spin cycle and slam down on the core. In a bright purple flash, your body transforms into that of Spin Cycle.[Wade]: I though it'd be better if I looked like a big, tough alien. It might scare off the punks who try to mess with us.[Kilik]: Donning a disguise. Smart. Let's go.The both of you head deeper into the city, and you notice that it gets progressively worse as you go on. Red neon lights reflect off of your many eyes, making it hard to focus on one place for too long. However, you notice that you've been drawing an awful lot of attention ever since you entered this part of town. As long as they don't try anything, you don't mind a couple of dirty looks.Your skin absorbs the moisture in this putrid environment, and it just feels wrong for some reason. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.[Kilik]: There's the hideout. You look up to see large metal shack sitting atop a hill. And from the looks of it, there's still someone in there. Possibly several.[Wade]: Hey, I thought they said that there wasn't anyone in there.[Kilik]: Or so they thought. How do you wanna go about this?>Switch aliens and sneak in there to grab the robot. There's no point in starting a fight in the most violent part of town.>Hit them fast and hard. [Wade]: Let's get a better look at who's inside. The both of you creep closer, hoping that you don't draw any attention to yourself. As you near the boarded window, you peak inside to see two young kids running around the house. Are they squatters? One of your eyes detects something moving behind Kilik, rifle in hand. You signal him without tipping off the person behind him, and he seems to understand you. Right before she presses the barrel to the back of his head, Kilik flaps his wings to kick up some dust and jumps up to kick the rifle out of the woman's hands, making her fall back on her butt. When you turn to get a better look at her, you notice that she's the same girl that you saved from Coyote and the rest of his goons. The one with purple skin and tentacles for hair. You really hope she isn't a criminal.[???]: Ow! You guys with D'Nero's gang? Tell him that he'll get his money by the end of the week.>"We're not here to hurt you. We just want a robot from the house you're squatting in.">"Hey, remember me?" >>3338068>>"We're looking for a robot. If you let us have it, then we'll be out of your hair."
You think of telling her who you are, but that's a bit of a risky move since you have no idea what kind of person she is. Just stick to being professional while you're on the job.[Wade]: We're looking for a robot. If you let us have it, then we'll be out of your hair.[???]: Robot? You mean that hunk of junk that was sitting in the corner of the room collecting dust?[Wade]: That'd be the one.[???]: You're too late. I sold it to D'Nero's goons a while back. It was the only way i could pay my rent.[Kilik]: This D'Nero. He's the leader of the Roman Charges, yes?[???]: The very same one. He's probably got it stowed away somewhere on his base. I wouldn't be surprised if he's already scrapped it for bike parts. Guy's a major nut when it comes to cars and bikes.[Kilik]: This chase is getting rather irritating.[Wade]: Yeah, I thought this would be way easier.[???]: So there you have it. Might as well pack your bags and head back to wherever you came from before this station chews you up and spits you out.So now you've gotta break into the base of a violent gang. This might get ugly.>"Thanks for the info." (Try to find the base on your own.)>"Can you show us where this base is? After that you can go as you please.">"You're affiliated with this gang right? [Wade]: Can you show us where this base is? After that you can go as you please.[???]: What're you nuts?! You'll be killed before you even get past the welcome mat.[Kilik]: Even so, we must get that robot. The fate of the galaxy is at stake.[???]: Wouldn't be the first time I've heard that. She picks herself up and wipes the dirt from her shorts.[???]: You really wanna go there that badly?[Wade]: It'd really help us out.[???]: Fine. Give me a sec.She walks inside of her home and you hear her reassuring the children of her return. When she leaves the house, she now carries a hover board with her.[???]: Ready?[Wade]: Yeah. What's your name, by the way?[Vaylin]: Vaylin. My friends call me "V". But you don't have to worry about that.Vaylin throws her board down and cruises alongside you. You're almost tempted to time out and use your own.You and Kilik follow Vaylin through the narrow streets of the inner city. Every now and again, she'll slow down a bit to greet the shady members of her community. It appears that she's pretty well known around these parts.[Vaylin]: So, you guys the previous owners of that shack? If so, I recommend buying a mop and using it every once in a while. The neighbors were considering burning the place down to get rid of the smell. Took me a whole week to sterilize the bathroom.>"You're pretty chatty, huh?">"No, we're not. [Wade]: Now we're not. The guys who were living there before got arrested.[Vaylin]: Not the first time I've heard that. Here's hoping they don't come back looking for a place to sleep.[Wade]: Why do you live here in the first place? Isn't this place a little too dangerous for kids?Vaylin slows down and looks you right in the eyes. The ones on your face at least. Her expression grows sullen and downcast all of a sudden.[Vaylin]: I'm only living here because I got debts to pay off. I got kidnapped by some crazy humans calling themselves "The 4th Kind" and I ended up losing a big shipment I was supposed to make. Some human kid broke us out somehow, Plumbers got involved, and the whole thing just set me way behind schedule. Once I'm all paid up, I'm outta this floating garbage pile. You wonder how she would react knowing she's talking to her savior.[Kilik]: And the younglings? Do you plan to take them with you when you leave? You're a bit surprised to hear Kilik joining your conversation.[Vaylin]: Dunno. They're not mine. Their dad recently bought it in a botched job a few weeks back, and they got thrown out on the street. Caught them raiding my fridge in the middle of the night, so I let them stay there. In return, they clean the house and run errands for me while I work.[Wade]: And what is it you do for a living? You're not part of D'Nero's gang are you?Vaylin's face turns to one of disgust. It's a bit refreshing to see someone so expressive after spending the last few hours with Kilik. Vaylin flies circles around you as she explains her situation in a slightly irritated tone.[Vaylin]: As if! I'm a smuggler, not some cheap hood. He gives me expensive packages to deliver, and I deliver them without asking too many questions. That botched delivery I was talking about earlier, that was his. Now I'm up to my ears in debt, and I gotta work to pay it off.[Wade]: How much do you have left to pay?[Vaylin]: Somewhere around two million Taydens. So, yeah I'm getting real close. You fall silent for a moment, checking to make sure that you aren't being followed or eyed suspiciously.[Vaylin]: What about you, big guy? What's your story?Should you tell the truth, or weave an intricate story. Or maybe you should just keep your mouth shut.>"I'm just here to deliver a message from my boss to D'Nero. Real confidential stuff.">"D'Nero killed my sister, and I'm here to get revenge.">"Me and my friend here are collectors of rare cybernetic artifacts. [Wade]: Oh I'm just a wanderer passing through...Vaylin looks very dissatisfied with your cryptic answer.[Vaylin]: Seriously? I spill my guts and all I get is"passing wanderer"?[Wade]: The less you know, the better...[Vaylin]: Stop that! I don't wanna hear anymore cryptic one-liners from you.She stops in front of you and points at a large building that looks to be of Chinese descent. Strange how aliens are borrowing Earth culture. Or are you borrowing their culture. Hmm...[Vaylin]: There she is. This is as far as I go. Try not to get yourselves killed, okay?[Wade]: We'll be fine. Thanks for your help.[Vaylin]: Not like I have anything better to do. You retreat to an alleyway littered with broken glass and undo your transformation. Your long, flowing cape flutters as you walk over a metal grate spewing steam. You’re going to wait for the watch to recharge, but you don’t think you need to be transformed to deal with small time thugs. Your magic and combat training should see you through this[Kilik]: Which species will you use?[Wade]: Human.Kilik goes silent for a moment, his eyes growing wider than they are normally.[Kilik]: Ah. This is more “Earth humor”?[Wade]: Nope, I’m serious. If I keep relying on the Omnitrix, my human skills are gonna get rusty. Gotta stay in shape.Kilik places a finger on his chin and clicks his mandibles.[Kilik]: Hmm. Your reasoning is sound, but I am not quite assured of your abilities as a human.[Wade]: Then prepare to be amazed. You sneak over to the window of the establishment and wave Kilik over to you. A strong smell of pork and wine penetrates your mask, and you peek inside to see what’s going on.From the looks of it, the Roman Charges are having a feast. They’ve got barrels and bottles of wine scattered about the hall and adorning the walls. And they’re dressed like actual Roman soldiers, with a bit of Viking mixed into the design. You notice an odd mix of cultures from your planet blended together. They must be die-hard fans of Earth history and culture. But aside from being massive fanboys, these aliens are rather built. Their superhuman physique leads you to believe that they might be a bit tough to take down. However, they don’t seem to possess any guns. Only melee weapons and a few bows with a futuristic spin on them. So, how should you deal with these guys?[Kilik]: Excuse me. I have a plan that utilizes your human form.Kilik whispering in your ear is probably one of the most uncomfortable feelings you’ve ever felt.>Knock on the door.>Knock the door down and ambush these guys!>Listen to Kilik’s plan.>Attempt to sneak inside while they’re distracted.>Come up with something else. [Wade]: Let's hear it.[Kilik]: Those barrels and bottles of wine. If we can break their containers, and spread the substance all over the floor, then we might be able to to deliver a powerful electric shock through the highly conductive liquid and render them unconscious. After all, wine is a higher conductor of electricity than pure water.Oh shit, he's right! You can probably use your mana bolts to break the containers, while Kilik uses his gun. And your Arc Gauntlet should be able to deliver a powerful enough electric shock to knock them out. Hopefully...It's risky, but will you give it a shot?>Yes. Throw mana bolts at the containers while Kilik covers you with suppressing fire. Afterward, you can roast these culture vultures.>Yes. You and Kilik can focus on destroying the containers as fast as possible, so you can knock them out in a timely fashion.>No, that's a bit too much of a gamble. Go with a different plan. [Wade]: Mead hall?! Your cultural inspirations are all over the place! Just pick one!The boss looks like he’s pretty pissed about your little comment.[D’Nero]: You dare mock Earth’s superior culture?! How could a puny Gazuntite such as yourself even hope to grasp its magnificence! He and his soldiers agree with him wholeheartedly, and begin going into a heated discussion about Earth culture. This is actually pretty creepy.[Kilik]: Ugh. Terranites...Kilik looks disgusted and embarrassed from watching the Earth fanboys gush about their passion.[Wade]: What now?[Kilik]: Terranites. People that are obsessed with Earth’s culture and anything that involves Earth or made on Earth. They are especially annoying amongst the degenerate scum that permeate the underbelly of organized crime, known as the Grey Market. That Vaylin girl was probably hired to deliver various items she stole from Earth. If we’d known this before, we could’ve used it to our advantage.D’Nero clears his throat and calls attention to the dire situation at hand once again.[D’Nero]: I’m still waiting for an answer as to why you destroyed my Mead Hall.[Wade]: We came here to take back something that belongs to us. It’s a little robot used by rich people and politicians. Maybe you’ve seen it?[D’Nero]: Oh yes. It contained parts that were crucial to finishing my newly acquired Earthen vessel. You’re really sure that this car isn’t put together properly, and won’t be driving anywhere anytime soon.[D’Nero]: Beautiful, isn’t she? I pooled all my efforts into assembling her. [Wade]: Wait! What if I improved that car for you? I think I can get it up and running without the robot part.D'Nero raises a hand, commanding his men to cease their assault.[D'Nero]: I'm listening.[Wade]: I know the model of this car pretty well. My Dad had one for a few years. So I should be able to fix her up and add a few upgrades.[D'Nero]: No! Just make it exactly like the ones on Earth![Wade]: Really? But I can easily add value to this car by adding parts from newer models.[D'Nero]: No! The one thing I value over anything else is authentic Earth valuables. No tampering is allowed.[Wade]: Whatever, you're the boss. You time out very briefly and select Upgrade on you Omnitrix. You hear the soldiers around you murmuring and giggling.[Roman Charge]: Y-you wouldn't happen to be a hu-[Wade]: No.You quickly slam your hand down on the Omnitrix core and transform into Upgrade.[Wade]: Ok, stand back. You merge with the car and begin making repairs using the tools they had on hand. Ugh, even the tools are rusty and retro. At least the power drill can be upgraded. This slows down the repair process, but you're still able to get the job done before your watch times out. You identify and swap out the foreign robot parts and set them aside for later. The firing of cylinders and loud pur of the engine confirm that you've done your job.[D'Nero]: I-It's perfect! There are literal tears pouring from their eyes as they gush over this vehicle. You feel their slimy hands caressing your chassis as they rub themselves all over the car while you're still fused to it. You really don't want to be here anymore. You shudder at their touch and slink away from the machine.[Wade]: So, about that robot...D'Nero snaps his fingers and orders his men to bring the disassembled robot to you. Man, they really did a number on this thing. Its guts are hanging out and the mother board is exposed.[D'Nero]: This makes us even for the damage you've caused. Now, leave and never return to this space station.[Wade]: The fact that you think you need to order me to never come back here is funny to me.You turn your back and walk back out the door with Kilik. As you leave, you merge with the device and return it to its original pristine condition.[Wade]: So, what do we do now?[Kilik]: We'll need to examine the parts and determine who developed them. That will take some time though.>"We don't have that kind of time. Let me take a look at it." (Carry the device back to the ship and use Grey Matter to examine it.)>"Maybe someone around here might know a thing or two about it.">"Should we actually do something about that gang back there?">"What if I tried to restore the erased information with Upgrade? It might help us learn more about who this belongs to.">Write-in.

You carry the device back to your ship, luckily avoiding any trouble from criminals that infest the station. Once you're on-board, you time out and wait for the watch to properly recharge. The silence that you've learned to get used to is broken by the loud grumbling of your stomach. You didn't notice how hungry you were until now.[Kilik]: You are hungry? Would you like a Panuncian protein bar?[Wade]: Sure, what's in it?[Kilik]: Protein. You want to be angry, but simply don't have the energy to retort. You grab the bar and slowly chew it. Tastes pretty decent. Like if beef jerky were mixed into a granola bar. A strangely pleasant mixture of salty and sweet.[Kilik]: So...You're surprised that Kilik is taking the initiative in conversations now.[Wade]: So?[Kilik]: I never inquired...but just how did you come to possess the Omnitrix?>"That's classified.">"My ex-girlfriend threw a meteor at me, and out came the Omnitrix.">"It fell from the sky and I picked it up. >>3345664>"It fell from the sky and I picked it up. The rest is history."
[Wade]: It fell from the sky and I picked it up. The rest is history.Kilik blinks and stares in disbelief as he ponders your plain and stripped explanation.[Kilik]: So the most powerful weapon in the known universe just fell out of the sky? You must have amazing luck.Since he's feeling chatty, you might as well ask him a question too.[Wade]: Why'd you become a Plumber?Kilik clicks his mandibles and rubs his chin, carefully choosing his next words.[Kilik]: I was banished from my home planet, and this seemed to be the most advantageous position.[Wade]: How'd you get banished?[Kilik]: I was accused of cannibalizing my brother. I pleaded innocent, but the only way to make sure is by cutting me open within the first 4 hours. Banishment seemed better than an honorable death. He keeps glazing over really important details in his backstory![Wade]: Hold on. You guys actually eat each other too? Like real praying mantises do?[Kilik]: We used to. They are the ways of our Elders. A dark history that we must not repeat for the sake of our society's stability. There are a few of my people that still abide by the laws of old, but I have never concerned myself with such individuals.[Wade]: So, did you really...eat your brother? You try hard so as not to offend him, but he doesn't look disturbed by your question in the slightest.[Kilik]: No. He was eaten by a predator that had invaded our home while we were having an argument. Everyone thinks I cannibalized him in anger, but I would never do such a thing.[Wade]: So, even your own family didn't believe you?[Kilik]: Trust is not something that is given out freely amongst my people. It is taught, that once you've acquired a taste for your own kind, an insatiable blood-lust overtakes you. They had no reason to trust me once the paranoia set in. I only had 3 options: Live as a cannibal in the wilds, cut open my stomach and die honorably, or leave my home planet and never return.[Wade]: Man...that's pretty rough.[Kilik]: It is in the past. I do not resent them for the decision they made. I would have done the same.[Wade]: But that doesn't explain why you became a Plumber.[Kilik]: I was hunter/gatherer back on Granida. From the moment I was born, my life's purpose was ingrained into me. I gained an instinct for hunting and tracking prey. Almost every member of my species is born knowing exactly what they must do. It's more like a compulsion. One that I must wrestle with every so often. The only way to rid yourself of your instinct is by consuming the blood of your brethren.[Wade]: So that's what you meant when you said you have to follow your instincts.[Kilik]: Contrary to my family's beliefs, my instincts had not left me. The only options presented to me, were to hunt down prey legally or illegally. I chose the legal methods. His instincts are constantly hounding him and telling him what to do. Sounds miserable...(Continued in Next Post)
[Wade]: I'm surprised they let you graduate from the academy with a mindset like that.[Kilik]: My training and graduation were not without their challenges, especially since members of my species were not favored as law enforcement material. However, they could not ignore my abilities. I was assigned as a special agent trained under Koba himself.[Wade]: Wait, Koba trained you?! He never told me about that![Kilik]: I would assume so. He and I did not leave off on good terms.Your watch chirps to life, signaling you that you are able to use it once more.[Wade]: I should...[Kilik]: Of course. You open up your watch, select Grey Matter and slam down on the Omnitrix core. You shrink down considerably and leap onto the table to inspect the robot.[Wade]: Hmm. The craftsmanship on this drone is remarkable. But we must go deeper to extract the necessary information. You pry off a metal plate and crawl inside of the drone. Once you clear the thicket of wires blocking your path, you examine the parts individually.[Wade]: There must be something in here that tells us who made this. And suddenly, you notice something odd about the motherboard. Its shape is odd, and it seems that the interior and exterior of the drone was altered to fit the circuit board inside without damaging it. You remove the plate covering it, to expose a ball grid array. And there appears to be several burn marks etched onto on the grid.[Wade]: Strange. These marks feel as if they've been left by a soldering iron.[Kilik]: Are you sure they weren't made when the drone shorted out? And the Roman Charges had their hands on it for a time. They could have accidentally damaged the chip when they were tinkering with it.[Wade]: Doubtful. The plate protected the circuit board from being damaged. And it looks like it hasn't been opened in a long time. These marks were put here purposely. Maybe as an insignia.[Kilik]: The person who made this drone signed their work.[Wade]: Yes, but I don't recognize these markings as any known language in the galaxy. You pry the circuit board free and carry it out with you.[Wade]: Can you run a search on your database for these markings?[Kilik]: Sure.Kilik scans the surface of the circuit board and runs a search of the highlighted signals. The search might take a while to comple-[Kilik]: Found something.[Wade]: That was fast.[Kilik]: Welcome to the world of quantum computing. Says here that the emblem from the circuit board is the same one that's used for a small manufacturing shop on Agra Taj.[Wade]: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go.[Kilik]: Roger roger.Kilik sets course for Agra Taj, while you time out and lean back in your seat. You wonder what everyone's up to back on Earth. >>3346304>Reach out to Verdona.
>>3346304>>Call your family.
It's been a while since you've talked to your family. They'll probably be interested in hearing what you've been up to. You excuse yourself and use the Omnitrix to call Olivia. Trixy recently synced your contacts from your phone, and you're able to make calls across the galaxy with her help. You've truly been blessed with a reliable AI.[Olivia]: Hey Wade! How've you been?[Wade]: Cracking down on a conspiracy and solving crimes with a space cop. How about you guys?[Olivia]: We've been kinda busy since you left.[Kevin]: Turns out, "X" inspired a bunch of people to rise up to his challenge.[Olivia]: There's vigilantes everywhere! Me and Kevin have been keeping them in check with the Plumbers, but we don't know how long we can keep this up.[Kevin]: I swear, if I have to listen to one more wise-cracking dweeb...[Gwen]: They've been quipping non-stop. Putting on a mask hides their insecurities and brings out the person they really want to become.[Kevin]: You aren't helping.[Wade]: You okay?[Olivia]: Kev got clobbered by a walking brick wall and now he's being grumpy towards everybody.[Kevin]: Am not...Kevin groans loudly after retorting.[Olivia]: See?[Wade]: What about the others?[Olivia]: Grandpa's been given command of the Plumber's operations down here, and he's gonna be stuck there until you can get back.[Kevin]: And Kirby's been focusing on Humanitarian stuff, so we haven't seen him in a while.[Wade]: Huh. I didn't think things would get so bad when I left. Maybe I should-[Olivia]: It's not really a bad situation! It's just really messy with the new heroes and villains trying to make a name for themselves.Olivia must've sensed that you were thinking of coming back home to help them out. But she knows that you can't afford to abandon this mission. You're just scared that another invasion could happen while you aren't looking.[Gwen]: There's good guys trying to help out by fighting crime and restoring the city, and then there's the new bad guys and amateur heroes accidentally causing even more damage.[Wade]: Sounds chaotic. Don't worry, I'll come rushing back as soon as we finish up this mission. Tell everyone else I said "hi".[Olivia]: I will. Be careful out there, cuz.[Kevin]: See ya, Wakeman.[Wade]: Bye.You hang up and try to think of ways that you might be able to keep the vigilante situation under control, but none of them would be permanent solutions. You'll just have to deal with this stuff later. Now that you think of it, you haven't talked to Verdona in a while. You cross your legs and pull up your mask to breathe better, clearing your thoughts and relaxing your turbulent heart. Your mind moves far away from your body at an incredibly fast pace. It exits the ship and shoots past the stars, celestial bodies and planets that adorn the empty space of the cosmos.Eventually, you find Verdona and Sunny arguing inside of a cosmic storm. They haven't seemed to notice you yet.(Cont.)
