In the last session we managed to talk the dwarven court into seriously considering the reclamation of the ruined city. However, before any of the work starts, they need to make sure that the creature is dead and the situation is safe so we need to escort a group of dwarves there and back safely. While waiting for the ship to be prepared and explorers gathered, we decided to look around the place, buy some things and attempt to get mad drunk. As it turns out, mixing dozens of various kinds of alcohols is more toxic than your enhanced body can handle and you end up blacking out…

Uhh… that’s a new sensation. Your body is aching all over and something in your head keeps pinging annoyingly like an alarm clock. You subconsciously know that it is one of the new…ish “warning” senses that monitor your body and your surroundings. People don’t usually consider their natural analogues to those as “senses” but what else can you call an ability to detect when your blood sugar is low? The thing that was bugging you was essentially an internal toxicity sensor. It picks up concentrations and compositions of toxins inside of your bloodstream in various locations and sends them into your head so that you know what is happening. Looks like mixing dozens of alcohols along with drinking whole bottles of things which cause dwarves to black out almost instantly after a 10 ml shot was not that smart. Along with almost lethal concentrations of spirits you somehow managed to get a whole cocktail of various mostly harmless hallucinogens and neurotoxins. Individually they would cause a person to black out and probably hallucinate for hours but this dose would be almost instantly lethal for an elephant.

In this particular case, you fell into a “toxin recovery coma” which is an emergency state of your enhanced body that triggers when you are both safe and heavily poisoned. Everything from your internal organs that is not necessary for your survival becomes temporarily disabled as the body rapidly scrubs the contaminant out of your blood. You could manually prevent this effect from taking place and the body has several alternatives that don’t cause you to lose consciousness but this seems to be a go- to method as it is fastest and causes least harm. Looks like you essentially have space marine’s oolithic kidney but on steroids.

You think that you were unconscious for something like six hours until the recovery coma effect wore off and you could finally feel something from the outside world. It feels… warm and soft as if you are lying in bed. You bet someone saw you blacked out and carried you in one. You finally open your eyes and you meet up face to face with Sigrid who is deep asleep. Oh crap…

The bed is slightly too small for the two of you and she has her back pressed against the wooden wall while you are lying almost on the very edge. You haven’t fallen off only because Sig was holding you in a tight hug. Your face is less than an inch away from hers. What is going on?! It is a bit uncomfortably hot and you are both still in your under armor so nothing happened right? …Right?!

Your face feels hot as you blush heavily. This can’t be happening! You are not sure if you can even get out easily. Sigrid is pretty strong even while she sleeps and you don’t think you could get out without waking her up. Then again, you sense a strong smell of alcohol byproducts in her breath so maybe she is still out cold?

>Just lie there until she wakes up. You don’t want to bother her. It is a bit uncomfortable…
>Try to carefully unwrap yourself out of her bear hug without waking her up (roll 1d20)

Just wait a bit, we are still not in a rush and we know from past experience that she recovers pretty fast, try to get a little more comfortable position.

I think we can cross the getting drunk project from our list, it's a relief that we can at least experience it if we want, even if to do that we need poison enough to kill a small village...of dwarves.

Guys, if we ever position ourselves into a pantheon, or become an independent deity, what areas of influence should we claim as domains?
>>
>>3309701
Good question. I think that there are two "groups" of traits based on what we do and what people around us think we do because the two of those things are different and both are important.

Yeah, that makes sense.

The ex-slaves probably see us as a breker of chains kind of entity, the people of Farsalos too since we put everyone through an ordeal to free those slaves, meaning that it's something important to us. The original villagers and the ex-slaves probably respect and fear our power too, sunce we oblitwrated those bandits and then Dr. Manhattaned the slavers.
There's also the construction and the protection we provide.

As for our individual interests, it has been mostly the persuit of knowledge and technological advances, exploration and adventure and building and protecting our village.

You decide that you’d prefer to wait instead of risking of waking the Viking girl up. There is sill some time before you need to be preparing for the expedition so you adjust yourself slightly with telekinesis to get a bit more comfortable and wait until Sig wakes up. You know, she is kind of cute when she sleeps. Being a monster hunter, she almost always has that tough and strong expression on her face but now when she is sleeping, she is finally relaxed. Now that you’ve been able to observe her so close you’ve noticed that the blue stroke of paint on her face actually “covers” a thin but long straight scar which looks more like a knife cut and not a ripped wound left by claws or fangs. You wonder what caused it and whether it was just shallow or if she heals better than normal humans as well.

Her skin lacks almost any blemishes except some barely visible freckles and it looks perfectly healthy which is surprising for the level of skin care technology available to iron age people. Girls from your time would spend hours applying makeup to get an appearance like that but she just wakes up with it. If you weren’t a synthetic goddess, you’d probably be a bit jealous.

Ironically, by modern standards she is not considered pretty. While scars “decorate a man” Cenophilans are not fans of scars on women. Local beauty standards are a weird fusion of things modern for you and things you’d consider massively outdated. For example, in middle ages wasp waist on men was considered attractive which is the reason for such thin waist on full plate armors while in local cultures they have more “modern bodybuilder” image of a strong man and thus local heavy armors have “historically inaccurate” wider waists and emphasis on large chest and shoulders. For women, locals seem to consider perfectly smooth lighter tone skin and slender gentle frame as beautiful which apparently comes from the noble classes in all four nations. Due to this, that scar and tattoo are considered a horrible disfigurement and while they make her look tough, she is most definitely not considered an eligible bachelorette by most locals.
>>
>>3309999
Eventually Sigrid yawns and stretches almost causing you to fall off. Luckily there is nothing a little telekinesis can’t help with. She doesn’t seem to be too bothered by the fact that you are positioned straight in her face, she just looks down, notes that you are both in under armor and just tells you a “good morning” and leaves to prepare for the day. It is even a bit surprising, wasn’t that supposed to be embarrassing for both of you? Is she just that easy goings she doesn’t care or was she a bit dense on the subject due to not thinking of you as a possible partner? Non- straight people in Cenophila are not unheard of and not persecuted, just relatively poorly known of due to the lack of globalization and low population densities but still. Then again, you are not sure you’d view her that way either. You could just be confused due to just feeling these sensations for the first time so it was probably nothing.

You get up and fix your hair with telekinesis before getting back into your armor for the trip. Haven shows up shortly after and slightly blushing but she plays it as if nothing’s happening and passes you a letter from the dwarven court before retreating into her room to grab the gear. It says that the ship is in final stages of preparation but the team is assembled so if you wish to meet them before the trip you can do that. Same goes for the ship.

>Sure, let’s see the guys you need to complete the escort mission for

Female fighters are rarer than male fighters for same reasons it was the case historically. It is more "lax" here because a woman is as likely to have magic or physiological augment remains as men and thus it would be stupid to not let them help when things like hostile wolves the size of small elephants are relatively common. Thus when you see a female fighter she is more likely to be "superpowered" than male fighter because else the rare female fighter part kicks in.

However, there are enough female fighters for blacksmiths to forge armor designed for them according to their physiology and aesthetical preferences of a culture. Historically female warriors just used male armor with minor modifications because there is enough padding inside a full plate for even the bustiest woman to fit in. However, here with larger proportion of female fighters some bigger modifications were done such as slightly lowering the chest area on the chestplate and the thinner waist and wider hip proportions. But honestly, if you weren't a specialist you wouldn't probably notice.

Also regarding "boob plate", anatomically shaped chestplates for female warriors are a thing but they are rare and custom with the same role as medieval codpieces. They have extra armor and padding between the cups to prevent the problems with directing blows right down the middle and mostly people who don't expect to fight to the death for real wear it such as rich noblewomen knights, military commanders, sportswomen who participate in stuff like fencing and jousting, some gladiators in Valistrat and those rare monster huntresses who prefer being pretty to being slightly more protected. On the subject of the latter, not all monsters know how to hit a weak spot and have a tool for that and in some cases no armor would save you anyway plus they generally like to wear the "trophies" and various flashy designs so if you have the money- why not.
>>

You decided to visit Haven first. As a noblewoman she knows how to hide emotion, but you are a pod person so her skill is not enough to fool you. You knock on her door and enter her room. Haven tries to behave like nothing’s happening and just continues putting on her gear. On the question regarding the blushing she replies by saying “it is probably not my business”.

After another 10 minutes of questioning and Haven evading the answer you finally got the grasp of what’s the matter. Apparently, she saw you and Sig in the same bed and thought that maybe the two of you were together. She was worried you wouldn’t be fond of anyone seeing this. After all, there are myths of deities being… fond of mortals. To be fair, there is an Artemis- like goddess in Ethean pantheon and there are some legends suggesting that Mortati might be close to Belkh, or at least used to be so being “straight” is not the issue here. The thing is, as with Greek myths, there are shenanigans related to these things like the subject deity’s spouse objecting and trying to kill everyone involved (hello to not!Zeus from Valistrat who can’t hold it in his pants) or similar “unhappy endings” and she was a bit scared of telling you of even seeing anything.

You calm her down since, first of all, nothing happened. You just blacked out to clean up your blood from alcohol. Secondly, even if anything happened you don’t have any spouses, secret admirers or enemies. Well, you are pretty sure Mad Goddess counts as an enemy but what’s she going to do from across the freaking planet? In any case, nothing happened worth talking about so you just tell Haven about the recovery coma thing since both of you are fascinated and don’t know exactly how your body works and set off to meet the gang in the docks.

Sigrid joins you on the way and you meet up with a team of dwarves preparing a small ship for departure. Now it is an actual ship with a deck and rowers below it as well as quartz lights all over. It helps with preventing attacks but if something happens the three of you are expected to help with the defense since only four of the expedition members have combat relevant skills.

There are ten dwarves in total not counting the rowers: three mercenaries and one of the retiring guards, a prospector, an architect, a few merchants who came to check out the path to the surface and some lower governmental officials who are tasked with inspecting the ruin. Their goal is to make sure the place is safe, record how extensive the damage is and see how dangerous the path to the surface is as well as how easy it would be to reinforce against Labyrinth threats among other things.

In the end you drop your gear in the ship and set off trip back. You expect those crab creatures to piss off due to the lighting but you are not so sure so you are prepared to shoot them down with telekinesis just in case. However, who knows what lurks in these waters and tunnels.

You hoped that the trip would be pretty uneventful, but apparently crab things were not so convinced. There was some kind of large “crab-mothership” thing clinging to the ceiling that wasn’t there when you first passed through this river. This creature was just big enough to fit through the larger holes in the ceiling and it was somehow holding to the almost flat basalt surface by literally driving its pike- like legs half a meter into the rock and anchoring itself that way. This… "gonarch" was carrying hundreds of these tiny crabs crawling on top of it and it had several “holes” on the surface of its belly just big enough for the crabs to fit.

When a crab crawled into one the creature “breathed in” and then shot the crab out like a gas cannon in the direction of the ship and due to the number of holes and the size of the crab it meant a shower of 50 or so flying projectiles every 15-20 seconds. It also seems like the giant crab didn’t fear the light and the crabs it launched ignored it either while numerous other creatures on the walls were pushing into the tunnels trying to get as far away from light as possible.

You tried to pull the creature out of the ceiling so it would fall into the water but it was a bit too far to apply sufficient strength. Its legs seem to have anchors and they are super durable. If you tried to TK anchor yourself you would sink the ship with the effort required to pull it out. Thus, you had to focus on swiping projectiles out of the way so they don’t hit the boat.

Luckily, Haven now had barely enough light to target and she proceeded to send bronze bolts into its body one after another. One of these shots was lucky and it popped a part of the creature’s air bag which was apparently multi- chambered and capable of functioning even when part of it stopped inflating.

This dropped the rate of fire enough for you to pull out the bow and fire a single explosive arrow at the creature. You decided to boost it with TK and as a result it easily pulverized the back carapace of the “gonarch” and caused its guts to paint the ceiling with weird purple blood. Damn, you love these explosives. Maybe you should cook up some actual trinitrotoluol for some more bang later? Gunpowder is a bit too weak for the bigger beasties.
>>
>>3310300
With the obstacle thoroughly dead its babies scattered into the holes somehow losing their light immunity and the ship continued on its way. When it sailed into the ruin dwarves couldn’t believe what they saw. The giant forgotten beast lied dead in front of the fortress in a puddle of its own blood motionless. Its head was massively cracked and there were remnants of broken boulders that you used to beat it to death with. The leader of the expedition approached you and asked with worried voice: “How did you manage to kill this monster?”

>Explosives! I force fed it a huge barrel of gunpowder

Well, not the whole extent I think, lets start small, for exemple, how those headcrabs never got close to us.
>>
>>3310356
You decide to not reveal your powers to them for obvious reasons and thus you quickly compose a believable story based loosely on what really happened. You told them that the creature was asleep and thus you opened up the battle by forcing it to swallow a large barrel filled with gunpowder which disabled its fire breath. Then you’ve managed to blind it with your bow after drawing it outside of the city walls after which it was just the matter of bombarding it with remaining counter- siege batteries until it died from trauma and bleeding out. It was a tough bastard to beat and the largest creature you’ve killed so far.

The dwarves seem very impressed but Sigrid looks a bit skeptical. You can’t blame her. She is an experienced monster hunter and she can probably tell that the fight didn’t include the chase and the trebuchets would be a bit too small to damage the hide on that scale. You pass by her on the way below the deck and quietly tell her that you’ll tell her the truth a bit later.

It takes dwarves a good part of the day to examine everything. The damage to the fields, the extent of destruction to the forges and buildings as well as estimating casualties. It seems that this town supported up to 40 000 citizens and over half of them didn’t make it out. The rest fled through the boats and underground passages before collapsing them. Also, the situation with the forge is typical for when the smelter is damaged from the outside during operation. The monster probably torched the area while mythic alloy was being cooked so this caused protective shell to break and release the intense energy contained in those crystals melting everything in sight. You wonder if it is possible to weaponize something like this. The extraction of these crystals is said to be extremely difficult due to how deep in the Labyrinth they are found. The deeper you go the more dangerous it is. However, this is something beyond what is possible with chemical explosives. Like some kind of psychic nuke but a bit weaker. It would be a while before you can enrich uranium after all and judging by some evidence it could be useful against creatures on extreme end of spectrum and maybe even against synthetic gods.
>>
>>3310452
Dwarves determined that the fields were not too damaged by the fire so they could set up farms with the first migrant wave which would speed up colonization. Most of housing and facilities is irreversibly fucked, however, and thus it would take time to rebuild everything. Luckily, the walls are already in place making it easier to defend the new city. They expect that it would take 3 to 4 months before the place becomes somewhat self- sufficient and capable of trave plus a year before it reaches the population of a large town.

Growing to full size would take several years which is to be expected. You can’t find 40 000 people easily in pre- industrial society. However, you bet that you could speed up the process by sharing some technologies to boost unique trade. Something like mass produced sheet glass or more efficient blast furnaces and steel converters. There are risks though, they are a foreign nation which is more powerful than your village from the bat. Unless you build a tight trade alliance there would be a risk of dwarves expanding to the surface and then Farsalos would be directly in the striking distance. They are a medieval kingdom after all, war is one of the natural states of these proto- nations.

Looks like the only thing that is left is the visit to the surface. There are a few ways you could approach it:

>Show them only the path to the surface and the exit from the mines as a proof, this should be enough
>Lead them to Farsalos and let them rest there for a bit. They should know their trade partners
>Discuss the dangers you know of, they should be prepared. Like those fear zombies and primitives in the forest

No sense in hiding Farsalos since its pretty near and they will eventually found out, people here can help them rebuild and trade for food while they set up for some starting trade relation and we can have the arvhitect take a look at our wall and give us some pointers.

You led the dwarves to the surface and then all the way towards the village. You figured that it would not be smart to hide Farsalos since it is so close to the Labyrinth entrance and you wanted them to trade with the villagers anyway. Thus, you hope that they’d make a good impression on each other and it is also an excuse to check up on the situation. You are still a bit worried about them because the walls are not finished and the militia is… not the best to say mildly.

During your trip you ended up discussing the local threats with the dwarves. You tell them about the psychic zombies that are supernaturally scary but don’t actually pose any threat to groups of people with good gear, about primitive tribes in the forest and about giant wolves to the east of the mine. Dwarves appreciate the heads up, they deal with this stuff all the time after all. The unknown is dangerous and if they know what to expect they can prepare to face it with smaller losses.

As you approached the village there was some kind of commotion in it. After investigating further, it turns out that scorpio crews managed to take down one of the giant wolves that strolled too close to the village and decided to try and attack it. Luckily it was alone and now It is thoroughly dead. Militia commander and other members are getting a bit too big for their shoes but you guess they earned it. Village beat off its first monster attack without your involvement and with no losses, nice.
>>
>>3310665
You arrange a meeting between the dwarves and village chief and they seem to get along well. Architect dwarf spends the rest of the day exploring the wall structures and the construction of local buildings. He wasn’t capable of finding anything to improve with exception of finishing actual walls and debating between counter siege weapons and additional protection for defenses. To be fair, you used some modern techniques to carefully distribute mass and increase durability and you applied most time-tested medieval designs so you are not too surprised.

After dwarves settled for the night you showed a little of your telekinesis to Sigrid. You don’t go overboard, just display that you have this ability. She is fascinated and almost immediately guesses that you probably use it to help with your bow and melee weapon swings. She doesn’t seem to think that it is too strange and it is not her first time seeing telekinesis. Apparently, some rare monster hunters also have it and they are unstoppable against weaker enemies as it passes through any natural armor. However, a lot of strong creatures completely nullify psychic powers inside their bodies or at least their vital organs and TK users can at best throw small boulders comparable to bowling balls in size every couple minute so they essentially become useless unless they are extremely skilled. You don’t tell her much more, she should have more time to process this stuff or you might shock her.

After everyone settles for the night you plop in your bed yourself and wonder what you are going to do next. Tomorrow you would return back to the dwarves and probably nothing big would happen since you have already killed the crab queen, after that you’ll wrap up with the wall but what next? Mapping the Labyrinth? Building a road to the dwarves because faster travel? Maybe constructing that shrine to Nike' to house her Oracle? Eh, you can decide when time comes and nothing is pressing you right now so you finally drift to sleep.

And that’s it for this week. Due to my birthday on 5th March I won’t be able to run next week. The threads would continue as normal after that. This thread will be archived next Saturday as usual so feel free to ask questions, discuss and propose new projects. We didn’t have those in a while. In any case, thank you guys for joining me and I’ll see you next time.

Ok

other things we have to do after the wall is finished.

1 Build the oracle with the marble we got

2 study that Agate(just realized it has everything to do with our name) for it's psy properties
3 get those healers here to help the former slave
4 finally test and experiment with our healing foam and what it can do for other living organisms
5 Improve our Tk attack or defense even further
6 start that wax industry, or at least guide Rheia into doing it while we do other stuff, it should be a good project for her with our guidance.
7 start mapping the nearby Labyrinth, and dealing with the psy zombies
8 improve the village's weapons and armors, or at least order them from someone

and these are just the most pressing matters I think

Sounds reasonable, I’d like to say a couple words about these points mostly because I am bored and want to share some more information to discuss:

1) Oracle Shrine is a powerful building. It would allow Nike’ to teleport directly to the village as well as giving you a human telephone (Oracle) inside. In addition, you might learn the basics of teleportation and/or psi enchantment by studying the teleportation anchor.

However, you can probably already see how it could be dangerous: Nike’ is still a loyal part of the pantheon and they would in turn have direct and instant access to Farsalos as well instead of having to physically travel from some other teleportation beacon. It would not be a good thing to have if you want to make a contingency in case of a confrontation with Elspeth. Then again, they would be able to show up quickly in case something too strong for you to handle comes over. Taking all these things into account, I would like to get a few votes on this subject. Is it worth the risk? Where you would like to place this shrine? In the village? Underground? Far in the boonies but still somewhat close by? Do you plant demolition charges below it just in case or do you trust your ability to break it if shit hits the fan?

2) Agate that we purchased doesn’t seem to have any unnatural qualities and is just a large piece of semi-precious rock. We decided to take it because the psi charged ring Nike’ gave us is made out of the same material and she said that while you can enchant anything, marble and agate are better at handling spacetime psi in particular. There could be other materials that can be used instead (suspendium for example) but we don’t know anything of the enchantment process yet. Our hope is to research it from the ring and the oracle shrine. Also, jewelers that work with agate are at risk of getting silicosis as it is made out of silicon dioxide which luckily doesn’t apply to you.

If you are interested, both Agatha’s name and the name of the rock have the same linguistic basis: ancient Greek word “agathos” which means “good/kind” and is one of epithets of Zeus. There is no in- universe reason for this coincidence, I just thought it would be amusing.

3) A cup bearer with healing powers will be dispatched to the village once you complete the walls and dwarves have enough time to set up at least some presence in the ruin. Presumable ETA- 3 or 4 months.

4) Healing foam has incredibly potent antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties essentially killing any normal microorganism that gets into Ag’s body. The solution is also heated to almost boiling to kill invading germs with heat as well. Currently we know nothing about its effects on other living beings, however the progenitor of that technology was toxic for non-augmented humans in large quantities so you need to perform dosage testing on animals before you can use it as medicine. It is added in research project section along with the rest of the gear, psi and physiological research.

5) There are several avenues remaining to better improve our use of telekinesis. However, keep in mind that we are reaching the limits of our “inspiration”. AKA avenues of research depend on our creativity, examples of other people using the power in creative ways, spacetime based anomalies/monsters and stuff we discover from “affect state” which seems to only activate if we encounter life or death situation. Our power essentially depends on what we know and we can’t just keep researching projectile velocity until we can throw pebbles at hypersonic speeds without coming up with new techniques.

6) Wax industry is a super short project that can be completed along with personnel education within just 3 weeks. I don’t think Rheia is ready to manage it as she is only becoming 17 this year sometime during the spring. She is incredibly smart but she is still a young girl with no sufficient management and chemistry education to handle chemical industry projects. While she could be this time’s Lomonosov or Einstein, she still needs a couple years to reach the point at which she becomes fully self- sufficient in terms of self- education, research and application of knowledge even with advanced education methods you employ.

I will place that candle chemical industry into “building projects” section along with other industries. I am surprised people don’t push for Agatha to make stuff like steel plants and steam engines. If you are curious, in QM notes industrial projects are divided into several categories: metallurgy (ore into metal, alloys), processing (casting plants, lathes, other methods of precise processing raw materials into goods or components), chemical industry (includes stuff like industrial chemicals, petroleum cracking and polymers) and manufacturing (final assembly of goods. Includes factories, division of labor, automation and so on). As an example, here is a tech tree for primitive cartridge firearms:
>>
>>3318039
Metallurgy- zinc extraction (part of color metals plants along with lead and copper), alloy foundry for gun metal alloy
Chemistry- mercury fulminate primer mass production (tier 1 chemical plant, special project), Mercury extraction (tier 1 chemical plant base), mineral oil manufacturing (unnecessary but increases lifespan of mechanisms and required for prolonged steam engine operation, requires tier 1 oil/coal tar refinery)
Processing- powered hardened steel lathe (gun manufacturing, unlocks primitive revolvers and similar era firearms as well as advanced steam engine parts and precise gears), stamping machine (required for mass production of casings)
Manufacturing- rotary assembler or manual ammunition factory (required for rapid mass production of cartridges for local use, can be skipped if assembled manually if you don’t want to arm the village militia with these weapons)

Don’t worry if you don’t want to deal with this mess, all that can be compressed into background if you build enough infrastructure and pick an unlocked project or vote to start “shoot for the moon” approach that would take a while and make necessary infrastructure along the way. To do so write in that you want to make a steam engine or rocket artillery or telescopes or whatever and if I agree that it is currently possible and enough people vote for the plan it passes.

7) Good idea, the surface regions are separated into sectors that stretch all the way to the borders of nearby countries. It is actually possible to explore and claim all the way to the western coast between Holy Nation and Cenophila due to a DMZ that is considered to be no one’s. You can find natural wealth, ruins, locals, monsters and so on and so forth but within limits. It is very improbable to run into anything super valuable like pods or old artifacts. However, minerals are pretty valuable too.

Labyrinth is a bit different. With exception of “plot relevant” areas it is “procedurally generated” based on layers. The deeper you go the more dangerous it gets and the higher the chance to find valuable stuff. Don’t expect pre- second apocalypse tech above second layer though. If “modern era” remains can be found they are probably even deeper. You can “scout out” the area, kill off monster dens and cement the passages to make it much safer and not as suicidal for normal humans to traverse like what Cenophilans are doing with the labyrinth leg between Mesino and Korifi.

Ah also, all areas that I’ve mentioned actually exist in setting and are not just background fluff. That means you can eventually explore subspace, floating islands, third layer of Labyrinth, Earth orbit, the Moon and Mars if you wish and have enough gear and infrastructure to support the adventure.

8) It is probably necessary if you plan to leave the village for long periods of time. Probably also expand and train them. Current permanent militia is like 40 people with the entire male population grabbing anything they can and trying to defend the village if shit hits the fan. The permanent members are currently armed with bronze spears and wearing gambesons with some early field artillery support. You could add bigger siege weapons on towers and behind walls (trebuchets apparently don’t go on top of towers as I was helpfully informed today), make some muskets and cannons, get some more armor going maybe? I recommend making an iron plant first for best results.
>>
got it, I think we should start prosucing Iron too, it will make other things easier, the bad part is that we are currently the only ones that can work with it.

Aghata, kind. it fits

and even with the downsides I think the oracle it's a good idea, both for research and safety, maybe build it in a nearby hill or something, like the oracles of old
