Last time, on Dragon Ball Tuffle Quest Kai! Peppa went on a shopping trip with Lime and Cocoa, only for it to get interrupted by a hunt for Hirudegarn! Gohan meanwhile helped Tien and Yurin interrogate Hoi, heading back to Capsule Corp. to help Tapion, only to briefly be controlled by one of the Ninja Talismans and attack his friends! Once free, Gohan, Izumi, Peppa, and Pantea help Tapion seal away the top half of Hirudegarn again. Once Bisa is found, Maple realizes that Hoi wasn’t attempting to control her, but instead, Towa! Izumi then accompanies Tapion with Gohan to Melchior’s to get the warrior’s sword back, and then manages to get in contact with Princess Misa and Beelzebub, with the demon prince declaring he may have a plan to stop Hirudegarn for good. Will the Phantom Majin finally be stopped once and for all? Good luck, Peppa! Good luck, Gohan! Good luck, Izumi!

“Okay, looks like all the paperwork is in order.” Bulma states as she hands you and mom one final sheet. “This will be the last bit you need to sign. Now... Peppa, are you absolutely sure about this?”

“How many times am I going to have to say yes before people believe me?” you ask aloud with faked annoyance. “I’m certain. I’m putting a majority of this into charity.”

Bulma giggles. “This will be the final time from me, at least. Go ahead, Peppa.”

“Finally.” You sign your name, then let mom sign below as well. “Hey, how is Tapion holding up?”

“So far so good. We’ve been extra cautious with security since the incident, and most of Capsule Corp. has been repaired, so he’s been able to rest easily. I think having Beelzebub to chat with has helped his nerves too. Pantea and Yamcha like having him around too.” Bulma takes a sip from her coffee, looking down at it with a melancholic smile. “...Yet I don’t think he’ll ever really be able to put all of this past him until we finally do stop Hirudegarn for good.”

“We’ve got plenty of people keeping watch on this. We will stop it.” Maple assures as she finishes signing.

“Let’s hope sooner rather than later.” The purple-haired woman takes the final sheet of paper. “So... Peppa, there is one final thing I’d like to ask. Would you like to give this charity a name?”

>A. Yes, actually. Call it... (write in)

Sounds good, but it occurs to me that we've never asked these people how they feel. We should at least do that first before throwing money at problems that may not even be there.
>>
>>3286112
Right, we don't want to become another Majola who thinks they know whats best for other people. We did give them a way to contact us right?
>>
>>3286047
The problem with that village was that they couldn't get help from other people, so instead of a charity, why not set up an institution that promotes Minutemen/Guerilla? Minute Gorillas.
>>
>>3286121
Pantea did, remember?
>>
>>3286122
We could make the Earth Defense Force a thing by paying offworld help like Yardrats to help transfer people and things to where they're most needed. Or, a transit system that can reach out to non-Urban places.
>>
>>3286139
Or instead of defensive military measures, it could even be medical as well if we can get a good transit system going.

>>
>>3286122
The charity I assume will go to improving infrastructure, roads, and generally get the villages connected to the wider world.
>>
>>3286179
Instead of a charity, wouldn't it be better to just commission a roadwork company?
>>
>>3286184
The charity would commission things. It also allows others to donate instead of it all coming out of Peppa's pocket even if she'll the biggest contributor.

She can have a more active roll like you want, but a charity gets more people involved and spreads awareness.
>>
>>3286188
We gonna leave it up to Capsule Corp to do the ad campaigns and media awareness as well? How much will get skimmed off the top for Capsule Corp? Not saying I don't trust Capsule Corp, it's that I trust them to act like a Corporation.

Okay, what should the Charity do?

Thinking for a moment, you smile as you come up with the perfect name for it. “Well... what inspired me to do this was the fact that there was a small village we found while we were searching for one of the Dragon Balls. A village we helped out in the end, but one that ended up in a very unfortunate situation. We saved a girl named Coco from being sacrificed to a rogue dinosaur... and Pantea helped them get some better contact with the outside world. So, if they’re okay with it, I’d like to name this after their village. If they’ll allow it, call it... the Natade Foundation.”

Your mother smiles sweetly and proudly at you, placing her hand on your shoulder. Bulma smiles as well. “That’s perfect. I’ll see if I can contact them ASAP.”

“Thanks Bulma.” Your tail sways behind you happily as you grin wide. “Ah, sorry to switch gears, but how goes the Hirudegarn hunt, anyway?”

Both women sigh loudly. Mom speaks first. “Baba’s been keeping a sharp eye out. Trip has been doing what she can to help with our search. Even brobro and I have been doing what we can to search. Every time we’ve gotten a lead, we’re just a step too slow.” Crossing her arms and closing her eyes, she adds, “But I can tell that this won’t last. Whoever has the lower half of Hirudegarn with them, they’re planning something, and planning it soon. Especially since the last couple times we were able to see a glimpse of what they’re up to, we got the sense that Towa was on their trail as well.”

“That’s... worrying.” you mumble out.

Bulma smirks. “But I’ve been cooking something up for this occasion, with Tapion’s help. Salvaged that tape that tried to call it out. We’ll use the trick they pulled on us instead.”

>A. If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be easier to use it at the ninja fortress or the forest near it to draw it out?
>B. Yurin been any more cooperative?
>C. Cool! I’m gonna head off then, thanks for this, Bulma!

Well, whoever has the lower half whether it be some unknown player or Towa we still have Hoi and they no doubt want him for his knowledge. If he won't spill the beans maybe he can be used as bait?

If he gets close to the other half, maybe he thinks he'll be able to control it and use it against us but we quickly zip him out once we see the phantom majin.

You rub your chin. “Has... Yurin been any more cooperative with all this? Because even if we don’t see eye to eye, she could probably agree to some things on tracking down Hirudegarn. Hey, could even use Hoi as bait instead of, you know, putting Tapion in danger again.”

Mom sighs. “None of this is easy. I... finally had a good talk with her, face to face, and while there are some things we’ve agreed towards to keep things peaceful... we’ve got some very, very different philosophies. Hoi may be able to serve as better bait for Towa... but a lot of this still doesn’t sit well with me. And I like that Gohan’s giving her the benefit of a doubt with all this, but... I’d be lying if I said that it doesn’t worry me just a little. Even if she isn’t doing it intentionally, she could be...” She shakes her head. “No, no. Nevermind.”

“Hey, I know how you feel, Maple.” Bulma comments. “No shame in worrying over that kind of thing. Heh, I myself waaasn’t always the... let’s say ‘model student’, you know.”

“I do remember playing marriage counselor to you and Yamcha a couple times.” mom remarks, sticking her tongue out.

“We weren’t married back then. Doesn’t count.” Bulma does the same. Both of them laugh, easing the tension a bit. “Peppa does have a point though. Even if Mr. tall, stoic, and heroic is okay with putting himself in harm’s way, best not to put him in more danger than he needs to be. And besides, I remember you telling me about your... argument with her. You were noooothing compared to what Launch had to say to her. Both halves.”

You stand up and stretch a little. “Well, that’s cool then. I’m gonna head off now. Thanks again, Bulma!” Sensing around, you notice Gohan is with Pantea and Tapion, Yamcha seems to be with a few people and mom’s camels. Also you think there’s that Baragon guy there too.

“No problem, Peppa. Have fun.”

“Where are you off to?” mom asks.

>A. I’m gonna see what Gohan and Pantea are up to
>B. Gonna head down to auntie Baba’s, actually. Wanted to check on a few things with her

“Actually, Lime mentioned wanting to talk the other day, so gonna be heading over there in a bit.” you reply, stretching your tail a bit.

“Ah, okay. Have fun, Peppa.” mom tells you with a sweet smile.

“Thanks mom. Oh, but first, wanna check on something...” You head out of the room, walking down the hallway, spotting Gohan, Pantea, and Tapion all seated together (with Tapion apparently wearing one of Yamcha’s outfits) as Gohan plays a game. You give them a brief wave, Gohan and Pantea waving back, then continue down. Finally you see Yamcha talking with some construction crews. Ahhh, that’s what that was. You spot mom’s camels in hard hats and safety vests hauling materials around, and in the background, there’s Baragon doing the same, with a far larger hard hat and vest on. Heh.

Okay, was curious about that. Anyway, you’re off! You teleport away, appearing over at Lime’s grandfather’s store. You see her placing some merchandise on shelves, her grandfather giving you a polite smile and nod, as she turns around and grins. “Perfect timing! ...How’d you do that?”

“Lucky guess, heehee.” you giggle. “Anyway, you mentioned you wanted to talk about something?”

Lime grins wide. She looks over to her grandfather. “That’s the last of them, right?”

He nods. “And I believe what you requested has arrived. Should be in the back.”

“...Requested?” you repeat. Lime bolts away. She then returns with a couple boxes. “...Uh-”

“SO! Two things. You mentioned how clothes for people with tails don’t fit you that well, yes?”

Raising an eyebrow, you respond, “Y-yeah? ...Wait. Lime did-”

“TA-DA!” She opens one up and shows off some shorts to you. Look rather nice, but... wait. “Got these custom ordered. Adjustable tail slot!” She shows off the back of them, with an odd slit on the back. “Got them in your size, too.”

“Aww... that’s sweet of you.” You take them and look them over. Huh, not a zipper, but it’s more... velcro-like, but doesn’t seem like it’ll get caught on your tail fur. “What’s the second?”

Lime places her hands together. “I... would like to learn how to fly.”

>A. Hah! Deal!

You give her a thumb’s up. “Hah! Deal! Though I have to ask, how’d you get something like this anyway?”

Lime winks. “Trade secret~”

“Come oooon, you can tell me.”

She places her hands behind her back. “Weeeell, a bit of it comes from some specialty stores. They’re making use of some PTO materials that have gotten more commercially available on Earth. That’s why it’s got something better than a zipper for the backside.”

“Heh, mom’s gonna love seeing this. No more making clothes with holes in them for me and Gohan. You’re a lifesaver, Lime!”

Standing proudly, she declares, “And don’t you forget it. Now... flying lessons?”

“Sure thing.”

“Okay, back in a bit, gramps!” she waves to her grandfather and heads out with you, both of you going to the more forested area near the village.

“So, your grandfather’s taught you a bit on Ki control, right?” you ask, Lime nodding. “So, we’ll be applying some of those principles to this. The Crane School figured out the skill on their own, more or less, but mom and uncle Acer learned it from their first teacher independently, and have been flying around ever since they arrived here. Heh, I think mom was even the first to show dad how to fly.”

“Neat. So how’s it work exactly?”

Spreading your arms and legs out a bit, you calmly take a breath in. “First, you focus energy around your waist, then slowly at first, you start to push that energy downward.” Your feet leave the ground. “Keep that up, and you’ll be flying in no time.” Taking off a bit, you circle around in the air, then touch back down.

“So is it like... a helicopter, or an airplane, or more of a rocket?” Lime asks, trying to focus her Ki.

“Mmm... kina like a rocket, I guess? You’re pushing out more of your energy than anything. Kinda helps to be able to know how to jump really well, too.”

She takes a few minutes trying to fly. Hmm... her Ki control is decent, but it is a little hard for her. But you think she’s starting to get it.

Calmly you watch her as she focuses her Ki, keeping careful watch of where exactly she’s focusing. Still takes her a minute... but soon her feet lift off the ground. She hovers up about a meter, then opens her eyes. “...A-am I doing it?”

“I can assure you I didn’t get any shorter.” you reply with a giggle.

https://youtu.be/RpRvk8x60Xw

“I’m doing it! Yyyyyes!~” She declares as she pumps her fist into the air. She almost loses balance as she does, but quickly reorients herself. “Aheh. How... uh... how do I get down?”

“Just slowly decrease the output.” you reply.

Lime does as you tell her and lands safely. “Whew. That was... awesome!”

“Well, glad you didn’t crash into something.” Your tail sways behind you happily. “Say... not to pry too much, but why’d you wanna learn in the first place?”

“Wweeeeeell...” Lime kicks a little rock with her new boot. “I’ve kinda been thinking about it for a while. You know, just remembered you showing up back when we first met...”

“You almost fell into a river trying to get an apple.” you respond in a bit of a teasing tone.

Rolling her eyes, Lime grumbles, “Coulda’ still got it myself.”

You laugh. “Haha, sure, sure. With a bonked head, maybe.”

“Whaaatever.” Lime crosses her arms and laughs too. “Point is... figured I should learn it some time. And hey, why not learn from the Champion herself?”

“You did well for your first time. Still though, not gonna get a Nimbus like aunt Suno uses?” you ask her in a kinder tone. “She’s able to do a whole delivery service with it, you know.”

“Sure, but this just seems like it’s a better way of doing things. Don’t have to rely on a cloud or nothin’ to carry stuff around. Plus I’m plenty strong on my own, thanks to grandpa.” She walks around for a bit, then tries to focus again. She hovers for a moment, then touches down once more. “Man, how do you handle all those crazy maneuvers when you fly?”

“Loooot of practice. And you are kinda dodging the question. Come on, you can tell me.”

Lime pokes her fingers together. “Well... was also thinking it’d come in handy this summer, when I try exploring some ruins. Wanna find some cool things to maybe sell some day, you know.”

“Aaaah. I get it now. Building up some skills for treasure hunting.”

She grins innocently. “Well... it is ONE reason for it. So... thanks.”

“Heh heh. Dork.” she sticks her tongue out at you. “Buuut yeah. I’ve got a few ideas. Those Nemurian ruins in particular have been catching my eye. Plus there’s a pyramid complex way off in Diablo Desert that a historical society has been looking into. If I can salvage a few neat little trinkets, might be worth the trip to go down and help.”

“So not so much Lima Croft, as Indiana Lime, like Cocoa said.” you tease.

“Eh, I’d need the hat.” she chuckles.

“So... was this all you wanted to talk about today? Don’t get me wrong, glad I can help you learn how to fly, but I am curious, anything else?”

Lime starts to walk closer into the forest, and you follow her. “...So. I have to admit. I am a little curious on when you... you know.”

Sigh. So we’re back to this. “Found out I’m interested in another girl?”

“I-if it’s too much I’ll not pry, really! Just... you know. I wanna know how you’re holding up. Everything... going okay?”

Telepathically, you ask Lime, ‘You sense that too, right? Gonna be heading that way. Think you can manage to hide your Ki like Cocoa did? We walk and talk, but don’t get its attention.’

Lime nods, slowly lowering her Ki alongside yours as the two of you walk closer, giving the impression that you’re both moving away, you helping her learn how to hide her Ki. “I don’t wanna pry too much, really, but-”

“No, no, it’s fine. I... kinda started to realize it before the Tournament. I mean, I’d never really thought too much on romance and stuff before, but... something just kinda started to click into place for me after I talked with Keli.”

“That Crane School lady?” she asks quietly.

You nod. “After hearing her little story, on how she came to realize it... it just started to make more sense for me. I... had feelings for another girl. Feelings stronger than friendship. And... she hasn’t told me if she feels the same way yet. She doesn’t really know. And I’m not going to push any harder on that.”

“So... that Keli lady, she’s been helping you with this, yeah?” Lime asks. You nod, giving her a bit more on what the two of you have talked about. Lime gives you a curious smile. “...I think I kinda know why she’s so ready to help you with this.”

“Huh?”

Lowering her voice more as you approach the Ki signature... which thankfully seems to not notice your approach, she tells you, “She’s been in a situation like yours... but without nearly as much support. Sure things worked out for her in the end... but think about it. When she was young, she didn’t really have someone to turn to. Someone to count on, that’s been through what she was feeling. Sure you’ve got more... accepting parents...”

“Heh, dad literally just shrugged when I told him about this.” you reply softly.

“But still. She wants to look out for you. And I think that’s kinda sweet.” Lime slows her pace as the two of you finally get close enough to see a small black figure moving in the distance.

“Speaking of, thanks for helping me study. Got a perfect score on my quiz.” She seems to appreciate that. You look closer... whatever it is, it does feel oddly familiar. Almost like... Korin? But... where Korin is kinda more calm and friendly, this feels... suspicious.

“Rrrgghh. Stupids. Trying to set this for big’ ol Hirudegarn.” you can hear it complain faintly.

...Wait what?

WAIT WHAT?

“Nyargh. Should be home cultivating Dark Senzu! Finally got Aquma for them... bah! Stupids!” The creature seems to be some... scrawny black cat with a staff with a skull on it, and a purple vest. You and Lime look at each other. You both then nod. “Feh! Feh! Only one forest left... it then this thing will be over, nyargh.”

You form as weak of an energy blast as you can, and then mix it with Wind Magic to draw the thing in closer. You fire it forth, curving it and sending the cat man hurtling towards you, Lime catching it and holding it tight. “GOTCHA!”

“LET GO! LET GO! HELP! HELP, KIDNAPPERS! CHURAI YOU SNEAK GET OUT HERE AND HELP! HEEEELP!”

“Churai, huh?” you move in front of it, Lime holding it to her so it doesn’t run. Wow, it IS weak. Weaker than her... heck, you think Bulma could probably kick this thing’s butt. It freezes in terror as it sees you. “So. I guess that solves that mystery.”

The black cat shrieks and hisses as it struggles in Lime’s arms.

“Lime, I’m getting him to mom. Hand him over, quick.” You hold out your hands, Lime tossing the cat at you as you grapple it. It tries to scratch and bite, shrieking still, but you’re able to keep it from doing any damage. And you catch it just well enough to keep it from being caught by the blue-skinned demon woman, who briefly jolts in your direction.

Firing a Ki blast at her, you get her in the back, then place your hand on Lime and teleport away with her, getting her back to her grandfather, and teleporting away again, back to mom at Capsule Corp. “Peppa you- WHAT THE?!”

“No time to explain! Churai’s after him!” You toss the cat, mom catching it with the Clothes Beam. Churia teleports in after you for a brief second, long enough for you to hear her gulp, and teleport away... but not too far away. She’s still nearby, in the city! You lock on to her Ki and then chase after her. “Chuuuurai~!”

“NOPE!” she yells out and tries to escape, teleporting again. The two of you begin a cat and mouse game as she keeps trying to get closer to Capsule Corp again. You lose her in a park in the city, looking around. Hmm... got a plan. You teleport back to mom once more, who’s restrained the little cat man.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAA! CHURAI YOU CONTEMPTUOUS CUR! GET ME OUT OF HERE THIS INSTANT! RLEASE ME FROM THIS COMFORTABLE-”

“LOWER YOUR VOICE.” you yell at the screaming cat man, covering your ears. He... screams softly. “Grah. Look, I scared her off.”

“NO YOU DIDN’T! SHE KNOWS SHE’S IN TROUBLE IF I’M NOT BACK THERE! NOW CHUUUUURRRAAAIIIII!”

Mom bonks him on the head softly. He shuts up after that, whimpering. “That’s better. Now, Peppa, what is this?”

“Someone who was going around trying to do... something for Hirudegarn.” You cross your arms and squint. “And given that I was chasing her around for a few minutes, seems like Churai, and by extension, Towa, are responsible for him.”

“Are they now?” mom asks the swaddled cat.

“Jeeze, what was all the yelling about?” Yamcha asks as he walks in, removing his hard hat.

“Guys was that Puar? What’s going on in here?” Yamcha... asks as he... walks in, removing his hard hat?

“I’m right here Yam...cha?” the little floating cat replies, looking back and forth at the two of them.

>A. All right. Churai, you’ve got until the count of five

“Mom!” you call out to her, then, recalling what Pantea’s told you before to distract... “Mr. Yamcha! What anime characters do you sound like the most?”

“Well Amuro obviously.” the first Yamcha responds. True...

“AND Mamoru.” the second adds, squinting at the first. But that’s what Pantea told you specifically!

“SAMMA DITTHI!” Mom calls out. Distraction successful! “FIRST ONE!” she declares as she points at him. “SAMMA VACA!”

Before she can teleport away, you lunge at her with full force, knocking the Churai-Yamcha through a wall and headbutting her hard enough that she returns to normal. Also OW WHY IS HER HEAD SO HARD? You rub your forehead, with Churai successfully dazed, as you get off her, letting mom place some restraints on her as well. She starts to come to, but Yamcha delivers a chop to her neck while she’s open, truly knocking her out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paLw9IcHzuw

You... hear mom start to laugh. “Eheh. Heh. Haha. Hahahaha! HA HA HA HA HA! YEEAAAAH! NOT GETTING AWAY THIS TIME ARE YOU?!” She does a little victory dance, pumping her fists into the air excitedly, laughing and cheering. “Yeeeeeaaaahhhh!~ Finally got her! Woohoo!” Mom bolts over to you, hugging you as tight as she can, then healing the wound on your forehead. Letting you go, she continues her little victory dance, finally causing Gohan and Pantea to see what the commotion is all about.

You all set the unconscious Churai and the absolutely TERRIFIED black cat down in the atrium. Mom keeps up her victory dance, as you place your hands on your hips. “So. Gonna give us some answers now?”

“I wanna go hooooome.” it whines at you, giving the most innocent look it can manage. Which... isn’t really saying much. But A for effort.

As mom keeps dancing behind you, you ask the cat man, “What were you doing for Hirudegarn?”

“Mrrroooowww... last time I work for her. Dumb, dumb-” You lean over the cat, squinting at it. “...Ah. Ah. W-well... I’m what you’d call someone who specializes in the raising of the more... vile life forms. Evil ones. Ol’ grumpy princess contracted me to try and lure the great one out... ooohhhh, why’d I agree to this...”

“Okay but... how?” Pantea asks him. “What exactly are you doing?”

“Eh, just a bit of aquma, some applicators, aaaaand a nice little bit of freshly harvested soul from the depths of Hell. One of the nastiest ones, that still have some evil in there.” Everyone takes a step back when he says that. “What? You wanna lure out a Demon God you don’t use a bar of chocolate, dumb dumb! DUMB DUMB! Nyah!”

“Okay, so is that what Towa’s trying to do? Capture Hirudegarn herself by luring it out in the open?” you ask next, noticing mom still dancing behind you. Heh. Mooom.

“Princess paid me quite well for my work, yes yes. Mhh... only had one forest left, too. Now I won’t get the bonus...” He hangs his head. “I wanna go hooooome...”

Mom keeps dancing and pumping her fists into the air. “Haha, you’re gonna need something better than that if you wanna head home, Mr... Mr... um...”

“Chocolay. Ohhhh, this is not my day, so not my day...”

“Chocolay! Weeell, sorry, but your ticket home’s been declines! Hahaha! Woo! Woohoo!” As mom reaches the unconscious Churai, you look over to your brother. The two of you shrug, and figure, if she’s gonna keep this up, might as well. If she’s gonna act like a dork, you’ve got your chance to. Both of you dance with her, following her as she does. Pantea giggles as she sees the two of you join her, Yamcha adding in a chuckle of his own.

Tapion lets out a nervous laugh, but then looks back to the cat man. “If what you say is true, that means she may know more than we do on its location...”

Mom stops dancing, snapping her fingers, you and Gohan doing the same. She then rubs her chin. “If Chocolay was setting traps in forests... what was the one you didn’t get to?”

“Fukurou.” he meows out.

“The ninja stronghold is there! We should head there and give Yurin a warning!” Gohan declares.

>A. All right, let’s head there now! I’m fired up and ready to go!
>B. Better idea, we have her gather her group to one of the forests we know he’s trapped, somewhere where it won’t make a lot of damage

You raise your hands. “Hoooold on Gohan. We can’t just jump into this, that might be what Towa wants. We’ve got a lead now. Let’s think this through. A better idea might be to have her group go to one of the forests he’s trapped, and have this work out on our terms. Making sure it’s away from a populated area, where it won’t cause a lot of damage.”

He rubs the back of his neck. “Y-yeah, but still, we should let them know.”

“Soon.” mom tells him. “But first, we need a plan.”

“Like a list of all the forests that have been trapped.” you comment. “How about it? Wanna help us out with that?”

“Ohhhh... do I have tooooo?”

You squint at him. That’s how it’ll be, huh? “Chocolay, your only trip back home now is with Prince Beelzebub’s permission. Helping us clean up this mess will probably make him more receptive to such a thing. You able to accept that?” you ask the cat man. Well... cat man demon? Demon cat? Whatever he is.

“Mmmmrrroowwh. Fiiiine...” He hangs his head in defeat.

“That reminds me.” mom adds, getting out a little jar. “Yamcha, over here. Oh, and Tapion, watch closely.” The pointy-eared alien tilts his head as Yamcha removes the top, mom spreading her legs and charging her Ki. Once she’s ready, she holds her hands forward towards Churai and shouts, “MAFUBA!”

Churai is swept up into a swirling vortex of energy, and then thrust down into the little jar. Yamcha seals it up, then hands it over to mom. “There we go. One Churai, sealed for good.”

“Hmm... your technique, it seems somewhat like the one Kami used on Hirudegarn.” Tapion comments.

“Probably wouldn’t be as effective, given what we’ve seen it do. But it’s saved us a couple times.” Mom winces. “Agh. Damn... she’s stronger than she looks.”

“Hm. So it takes some of your strength to be able to seal something away.” Tapion guesses, correctly.

“And again, given what we’ve seen Hirudegarn do, it might just vanish out of it. Big problem there.”

You step forward. “So, are we all really ready to face this? We have a game plan, and if that goes south, a backup plan?”

Gohan cracks his knuckles. “Izzy and I went over this a short while back. We get Prince Beelzebub in here and he’ll show us what we need to do to stop this thing once and for all.”

“Hmm... perhaps.” She strokes her wrinkled chin contemplatively. “I would need to talk with Yemma, and get permission from South Kai... but I may be able to do this.”

“Perfect!” You clap your hands together and smile sweetly.

“However,” Baba warns. “Is this what you think he would want?”

Bashfully, you admit, “I... just think he’d appreciate the chance. Sure, we’re planning on using Namek’s Dragon Balls when this is all over, but... he’s gone through so much already. If he gets even one chance to speak with his brother again, directly, I think it’d be good for him. I mean... I’d still have to ask HIM directly, but... you know...”

“Hmm.” Baba crosses her arms behind her back. “I may be able to arrange something, if you would prefer to keep it a surprise to Tapion.”

As you think that over, a pale figure pokes her head out from the doorway. She then waves her hand enthusiastically at you. Oh hey, the ghost girl from the Tournament. Baba looks back, waving her finger, causing the girl to stop and head back in... and then poke her head through the wall instead.

You wave back at her, grinning, but then focus back on the task at hand. As much as you’d like to catch up, there’s still more you need to do here. “That’d be up to you, I guess. I don’t want to speak for him on this. And we still have to deal with Hirudegarn.”

“Indeed.” Baba chuckles a little. “You rather do care for the boy, don’t you?”

A soft blush appears on your face. “It’s... I mean, I do, but my feelings aside, I’d still want to help him with something like this.”

“It’s good to see Acer and Chi-chi raised you up right.” Baba looks around, tilting her hat up a bit in the morning light. “Though... seems they are still back home.”

“Apparently dad got contacted by someone wanting to learn from him, so he’s really excited about that.” you reply with a shrug. Yeah, still- ...wait, what does she mean by “still?” “...Wait, you know who it is, don’t you?”

Baba grins wide. “Sharp as your father too. Ah, but to learn more would cost you more than a few Zenni... but I am sure you’ll hear all about it from him soon enough.”

...Cuuuurious. You tap your chin. “So... you’ve been able to find that out, but not Hirudegarn?”

“Much like tracking the Yurin’s ninja group, looking into that seems to have been intentionally obscured. I have my suspicions on it, though. Especially if Hoi truly was working with Towa...”

That gets you thinking. “...Great Auntie Baba, maybe there’s something we’ve all been overlooking here. However Hoi was obscuring his true intentions... there still could have been signs of what he, and the ninja, were up to while they were hunting the Dragon Balls, right?”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, the Dragon Ball Gohan and Peppa got was in a dinosaur’s tooth, right?” you ask. Baba raises an eyebrow. “So asking not to find the ninja, but the Dragon Ball instead, maybe that could’ve given a hint to who was trying to get it.” You start pacing around, thinking up a mental map of the Earth in your head. “Maybe you could try looking into the future, to see if we’re fighting the thing... or maybe any towns that have had mysterious sightings or-” ...Of course. OF COURSE! You snap your fingers as you recall what Beelzebub told you. “Places where there are stronger concentrations of negative energy! Beelzebub told us it feeds off the power of darkness to recover. Baba, where are some places of strong negative energy?”

She blinks, silent for a moment. She then starts to laugh. “In all my years... that is a great deduction, Izumi!” She hops off her Crystal Ball. “Fukuroku Forest could be one of them... ah, but there are others. Mount Five Element, the Land of Ice, Devil’s Hand, the ruins of Nemuria, the Forest of Terror... hmm...” She tilts her hat up slightly. “...This island is- ah, of course. That is where Majin Ozotto held his Tournament. Still with a slight taint of energy.”

“Okay, let’s start crossing out some of the locations and search from there. Like maybe... hrmn...” Well... what locations CAN you cross out? “Fukuroku Forest, we can cross that off the list, right?”

“Indeed.” Baba affirms

“Okay, and what else...? Hmm... you don’t think they’d go to that island, right? Wait... wait, if the Land of Ice is a target...” Oh no. “Could... Hirudegarn absorb Darkness, the being that resides there, himself?”

Baba’s face seems to go even more pale. “It... could. Oh no.”

https://youtu.be/3RgR_zAsKUg

You look down into the Crystal Ball with Baba. Damn it. There’s a scene of a white and blue icy wasteland, with little in the way of life around it. The two of you focus on it intensely for a few minutes. “...I’m not seeing anything.”

Baba squints, tilting her head, her hands forward as she focuses. “It... does not seem like anyone has made a trip to- ...wait. Wait there!” She waves her fingers, the image in the sphere focusing in on a figure moving through the snowy ground. Someone in the appropriate gear for such a trip, for sure, but... who could it be? “...From the direction they’re headed, they seem to be heading away from Darkness’ maze.”

You scratch your head. “Can you like... find out who it is? Wait, no, we need to make sure Darkness himself is okay first.”

She waves her fingers again. All you get is... snow and ice. A bit of a blizzard going through the area. But nothing. Nothing other than that man. “...I would suspect that Darkness does not wish to be disturbed, but... this is unlike him to not show up at all. I can contact Korin, but...”

You bite your thumb. This isn’t a lot to go on, but... if this is, you’ve got a chance to find the one who’s been hauling Hirudegarn around. You’re about to say something when you hear Maple contact you, filling you in on Churai and a cat demon named Chocolay being captured... and there being a plan to finally lure Hirudegarn out and stop it once and for all. She does mention that the cat demon’s been putting traps in various forests, too... agh. Decisions.

>A. Ask Maple if she can get you to Korin’s or Darkness directly, you’re worried
>B. Baba, what was the other forest you mentioned? Might you have a lead there?
>C. Wait, think of this logically. Could that really be a ninja? Wouldn’t he be trying to hide? Or were you actually successful at overcoming this... thing he does to hide Hirudegarn?

You take a moment to breathe and think this over. So... one of two things. Either Darkness is fine, and you’re worrying about nothing, or it’s already happened, and you can’t really do much about this right now. Or... “Could Darkness be unreachable because he’s trying to hide from Hirudegarn too?” you ask Baba.

“Perhaps... mmh. I will have Korin check, just in case.” she replies, still studying the figure.

You pace around again, thinking aloud, “Aunt Maple mentioned that the pair they captured were in a forest, setting things up for Hirudegarn... wait. Wait, Baba, what was that other forest you mentioned? Maybe there’s a lead there?”

“The Forest of Terror. My brother knows quite a bit about it, he has his supply of Paradise Herb, and-” Baba stops herself, then focuses back on her crystal ball. “...Mmhh. As I suspected.”

“What? What’s wrong?”

“It has been tampered with.” she replies. You look over to the ball yourself, and see... a thorny and eerie place, with trees that just look... off, and an unsettling mist spread throughout the air. Worse, shadowy figures seem to lurk around through there.

“It looks... awful.” you comment.

“Normally these things are but mere illusions. But something has corrupted the place, and...” A much larger figure can be seen in the distance. One... you’re all too familiar with now. “...And it would appear that this is a premonition. Hirudegarn will be here. Soon.”

“Mmhh... will Hirudegarn be an even bigger threat down there? Like... I can’t be the only one who thinks facing the Phantom Majin, Demon God incarnate, etc. in a place called the Forest of Terror is raising a few red flags, right?” Because it is. It is raising a lot of them.

Baba crosses her arms, frowning. “It doubtlessly will, though worse would be to let it gain power from that forest. Still, I fear that the monster may influence the illusions that the forest creates. Worse still, this corruption... it seems recent. It thankfully has been contained in here, but I fear what it could do if left unchecked. Especially if it spreads to the plants...”

“You mentioned a... ‘Paradise Herb’ before.” You squint at her accusingly. “Is grandpa hiding something from us?”

“Eh, keeps his old bones in shape. Helps him stay healthy after his phoenix died of food poisoning.” she responds with a shrug... then gulps as her eyes go wide. “...Oh. Bother. The corruption could get to that herb.”

“That’d be bad because...?”

“It would rot the herb away and spread its restorative abilities through the air. And if this is Aquma-based... it would only give that to demons.” Baba groans loudly. “And now half of Hirudegarn is headed RIGHT down there...”

Oh that is bad. “It’d be like that mist stuff? What else is this corruption doing? Can we do anything to stop it? How do we prepare for all this?”

“Hrmh... I have some ideas. But Izumi, I need your help with this. I can show you how to cast out some of the illusions the Forest of Terror creates. I need you to pay attention to everything I am about to show you. You understand?”

“Absolutely! ...But first, lemme do something.” You contact your aunt and explain what’s going on. The teleports in shortly afterward, and the two of you smirk and nod at Baba. “Two heads are better than one, no? Let’s do this!”

“Ah, that is fair. Follow me.” Baba instructs.

Maple takes a moment to catch up your mom and dad on the situation as she walks with you, then makes a surprised look. “...Huh. Well, that’s a surprise.”

“Hmm?” you look over to her... hah, you really are as tall as her now! Just like how you’re as tall as dad.

“Oh, brobro just told me who his new student is. Just hope the boy has his heart in the right place for this.” your aunt responds. “Your dad does seem pretty happy he’s finally got someone though.”

“Ah, cool.” She isn’t saying who it is. Probably on purpose.

Baba leads the two of you to a dark room, then tells both of you to sit down. “I will give you both some trials to practice this on. Listen carefully with what I am about to tell you, as it is vital that you master this to the best of your ability. Time is of the essence.” Baba claps her hands together, and around the two of you swirl strange forms of spectral light, coalescing into humanoid shapes... one of them appearing to be someone who looks like a tall blue alien with large ears in a blue jumpsuit and red jacket, and the other... that’s your mom. That’s your mom and she doesn’t look happy. You feel a shiver jolt down your spine. “These are simple illusions, much like the ones the Forest of Terror might conjure on its own. Izumi, Maple, I ask that you both relax yourselves, lower your guards, and focus on the flaws I have presented in them.”

“...Flaws?” you repeat.

“Oh!” Maple remarks. “Oh I see now! Ah, the real Ledgic looked a bit different.” Your aunt sits down, meditating.

You try to do the same, but as you look up... you don’t really get what she means. You don’t really SENSE anything there, but you see her there nonetheless. And... it just looks like mom. Like mom... disappointed in you. Mad at you. Agh, what flaws? This is just about a perfect copy of mom when she’s like this, how are you supposed to dispel the illusion like this?

Maple however seems to be able to do this perfectly... and you sense an odd calmness around her. “Good, good, Maple! Ah, you’ve almost got it.”

You notice the other illusion start to lose focus, getting more blurry, hazy... and finally disappear completely. “So, this forest... it uses something similar to that? Reflecting some kind of anxieties one’s feeling”

“Normally, yes. It is not so much reading minds as it is holding a mirror to your thoughts. You will need to master this first, though, to be able to discern the imperfections of that’s out there.” Both of them look over to you, still staring at the illusion of your mom. They’re quiet, trying to let you do this on your own... and your frustration starts to build.

“I... I’m sorry, what am I supposed to be doing here? I don’t really get how it’s reflecting my mind or whatever.”

“...Hmm. Maple, head out for a bit, I’ll be able to tell you the next step there. Allow me to help her first.” Baba requests.

You spend several more minutes trying to figure out what she’s talking about, but each time it just... doesn’t click for you. What’s wrong? Why can’t you get this? Why’s it still there, like this? You clench your fists, Baba giving you some time alone to try and figure this out, off to teach Maple. Several more minutes pass. Nothing. Your frustration builds enough that you... start to get bored. You briefly let out the barrier technique Tapion taught you, applying a bit of Light magic to it. This’ll work, right?

It... does! The illusion of mom disappears! You turn the barrier off... and as you turn around, you see her again, surprising you so much that you fall back. Okay, plan B! You bring your hands to your face, and boosting it with Light Magic, call out, “SOLAR FLARE!” It disappears again! Hah, perfect! You didn’t need to- GYAH!

“I expected better.” your mom’s voice, echo-y and angry, tells you from behind. “You can do better.”

“I’m trying!”

“You’re not trying hard enough.” mom tells you bluntly in a tone you’re all too afraid of.

“I’M TRYING!” You close your eyes, clenching your teeth. Damn it, what are you doing wrong?! Izumi, you have to do this! You have to! You-

“Izumi...”

That voice. “T-Tapion?” You look up... and you nearly scream.

“Why...?” he calls out to you as you see his body start to evaporate. No, no no no please!

“TAPION!”

Attempting to reach for him, you stumble through the illusion. You... failed. Maple places her hand on your shoulder. “Hey, hey, it’s okay, it was just-”

“I don’t get it. Why’d it disappear so easily for you?” you ask her, your voice shaky and weak. “I... I can understand what it is, but, it just doesn’t vanish. Baba, why do I need to do this? I could block them out with magic just fine, but-”

“You’re trying to run before you can walk.” she responds. “It isn’t merely that you can see it, but that it is a mirror held up to your mind, allowing your fears to be reflected in it. The more you feed it, the more it grows in power. And it is not merely you alone that will see them. As you saw with Maple’s illusion.” Baba sighs. “I must apologize, I am pushing you too hard on this...”

“Izumi, we don’t have a lot of time left. I’ve managed it, so you don’t-”

“No.” you tell her defiantly. You stand up and look your aunt in the eyes. “One more try.”

So, how will this go down? Izzy and Maple dispel illusions (maybe with Chichi's help? Bansho fan?), Tapion lets out the top half as Gohan and whoever else tries to corner the bottom half, Beelzebub traps the thing, then we go all out to destroy it for good?

You calm your Ki as you confront the next illusion. Okay, like you’ve been practicing. If it’s reflecting your mind, feeding off it, you need to still yourself enough to stop it. This one seems a good deal bigger... way bigger. Ah. Of course. That’s what you’re worried over. The white skull-like head of Hirudegarn looms over you, mouth opening wide... but stopping. You exhale deeply, trying to condense your aura around you. You close your eyes as you focus. Like aunt Maple demonstrated. You can do this, Izzy. You WILL do this! Your eyes open, you stare down the illusion, and breathe out, “Begone.”

A light briefly shines out of your body, and Hirudegarn’s illusion vanishes completely. Your aunt claps proudly. “Perfect. That’ll get them in no time.”

“While I am glad you took the time to learn this, there is little left before Hirudegarn arrives in the forest. Maple, are you certain you have everything planned out?” Baba asks.

Maple nods. “Yes. Okay, Izumi, filling you in on this too. We’re going to divide into teams. I’ll be leading our best fighters for the main attack, once the monster’s revealed itself and we’re able to pin it down. Gohan’s agreed to stick with Yurin and her ninja, along with Tien and Launch, while Chiaotzu has the rest of the Crane School set up a perimeter around the forest. You’ll be tasked with keeping Tapion safe, along with 19, brobro, Chi-chi, and-”

“And me.” Beelzebub declares, marching forward. “I’ve got the best shot at binding Hirudegarn down, and I’ll be able to use some of this to my advantage. This all good for you, kid?”

“Prince Beelzebub, will you be affected by the Forest of Terror at all?” you ask.

“If anything I’ll probably enjoy it down there. Will be awful for you guys, but me? I’ll be fine. Probably better than fine.” he replies with a shrug, but then displays a resolute look.

Well, that’s good. You nod at him, then turn your head. “Aunt Maple, before we start, one last thing: can you teach me the MP Buster? Exchange it for a spell I’ve managed to learn?”

She rubs the back of her neck. “I mean... we’re pressed for time-”

“Sure, but think of it this way: if I can help diminish Hirudegarn’s strength, even just a little, it’s one more advantage for us. So, that fair?” you ask.

She thinks for a second, then smiles and nods in agreement. “Okay, here’s how it goes...”

It takes some time for you to get the hang of it, but it’s an interesting Spell. It’s sort of like firing a Ki blast that doesn’t affect a target physically, but instead takes a chunk out of their Ki. Beelzebub is able to give you a few pointers on it, and in exchange your aunt asks for you to show her the Gravity Blow technique up close.

As you’re about to leave, you see a few figures approach. Oh, hey, it’s the ghost girl again! And her friends. “Izzy! Izzy! Ah, and Mrs. Maple!”

You both look back, Maple smiling as she sees them. “Ah, Phantasma, and the rest of you ghouls. Nice to see you again. What’s up?”

“We just wanted to come and wish you good luck beating this thing.” the ghost girl states in her happy, bubbly tone, floating over to you.

“Yeah! Kick that thing’s tail! Awwoooo!” the wolf girl affirms. “Oh, and tell Peppa I said hi.”

The tall Frankenstein’s monster girl nudges the tiny mummy girl, who begrudgingly comments, “And... tell Gohan I’m sorry I tried to smash his du- ...his face in.”

“Heh, sure.” your aunt comments.

The ghost girl shakes your hands enthusiastically. “Hope you make it through this in one piece! And hope we can hang out some time soon!”

You grin. “Sure. Betcha Sachie’d love to meet you again too.”

“Come on, come on, we gotta get a move on!” Beelzebub states, flying up, you and Maple following.

“Aunt Maple, if this plan doesn’t work, do you have a backup?” you ask grimly as you take to the air with her, flying for a bit. “Also, is no one at that forest yet?”

“Everyone’s on their way. We’ll meet up soon enough. And... I have a few backup plans. None of them are especially pleasant, but they’ll have to do should things get dicey.” She looks forward, an uneasy frown on her face.

“Doubtlessly, Towa’s going to be watching this carefully. She’s not going to appear herself, that much is certain... but she’ll have an eye on this.” Beelzebub comments grimly. “This is probably going just as she wants it to.”

“Then it’s our job to make a mess of her plan, isn’t it?” you ask confidently. “Like you’ve done so many times before, aunt Maple.”

“Heh, less than I’d like, truthfully, but yeah. Let’s do this.”

After a short while traveling south-west, you reach a forested island, your mother and father showing up shortly after. You can sense others arriving at other areas around the island... and boy, does it give you the creeps. Maple places her hand on your shoulder reassuringly, your dad giving her a thumb’s up. “Take care, sis.”

“You too, brobro.” she replies as Peppa teleports in with Gohan, Pantea, Yamcha, and Tapion. 19 finally arrives shortly after, flying down and giving you and Peppa a respectful greeting. “So, everyone clear on the plan?”

“Clear as it can be.” Gohan comments, looking over to you. Telepathically, he adds, ‘Izzy, while I’m with the ninja, I’m going to try and flush out the traitors. I’ll keep in contact with you directly.’

‘Wait, why tell me now?’ you respond, raising an eyebrow at him.

‘So they don’t catch on. They’re less cautious around me, but I don’t want to risk tipping them off.’ He gives a short salute, then heads off. ‘Good luck with your boyfriend.’

Rolling your eyes, you snipe back, ‘Try not to flirt with Yurin too much.’

“Okay, everyone, let’s go! Keep in contact, report anything suspicious, and stay safe!” Maple declares, flying away.

“This is it.” Tapion comments, taking a step forward. He flinches slightly as he does. “Rgh... Hirudegarn is reacting to this place... I can feel it.”

“We’ll stay close to you.” your dad tells him, walking forward.

“Just let us know if you need to head out quickly.” your mom adds in, making sure her Bansho Fan on her hip is secure.

“Sensors indicate we may not be alone in here.” 19 comments, catching everyone’s attention. “I am not sure if this forest’s illusions can trick them, but we should be wary of at least three signatures inside the forest.”

“Got it.” Into the spooky forest you go...

You form a Spirit Bit and send it out ahead of you all as you stick closer to Tapion. Your mother and father keep an eye out, dad asking, “19, where’d you say you sensed our company?”

“Closest target is 300 meters away, due south-west. Another half a kilometer away, due north. One more 750 meters away, due west.” she replies in her usual monotone, but seems to be taking all of this as seriously as the rest of you.

Tapion flinches again. “Rggh. The beast grows more restless. I can feel it trying to feed off this surrounding dark energy.”

Beelzebub cracks his knuckles. “Just hold tight, Tapion. We’ll be able to stop it soon enough.” He doesn’t seem to feel the same sense of unease you, mom, or dad are feeling. If anything, he seems a bit more calm, even a little excited.

Hmm... if what Baba said is true, keeping everyone calm will be helpful in not feeding any of the illusions. You look over to your father and ask, “So, dad, how’s this new student of yours?”

“Hm? Oh, well, he’s... eager.” your father responds hesitantly. “I’m kinda worrying about his motives though. He says he was inspired to get stronger after watching the fights in the Tournament... but part of me is wondering how much that rejection letter’s influencing him.”

...Rejection letter? Wait... “You’re kidding. You’re training that Monty kid?!”

Acer shrugs. “I’ll help him, but I’ll do what I can to try and steer him away from a more selfish reason for wanting to get stronger. Dad taught us better than that. I’ll teach him as much as he’s willing to accept. Do feel he hasn’t exactly heard the word ‘No’ all that often, though. Still, I-”

“30 meters.” 19 blurts out. Mom and dad take a defensive stance as the thick fog obscures a figure approaching you. “10 meters.”

“...Wait a second.” Beelzebub mumbles, squinting at the figure.

“Oh COME ON, you AGAIN?!” dad groans loudly, drawing the Masamune. You notice the fog actually flow away from his sword... huh. A chuckling figure meets you all... a tall demon man, holding a sword of his own in his hand, dressed in a black outfit with a spiked shoulderpad and a dark cape, long silvery hair and fierce red eyes staring down your father. “Gods damn it, why does Towa keep bringing you back?!”

“Izumi, Tapion, stay back, 19, you guard them.” mom brings out her Bansho Fan. “Magil’s not much a threat to us, but he’ll be after the two of you. Beelzebub, back us up!”

The demon prince starts to gather his energy, dad leaping at the demon man, swords clashing. Okay, not a complete illusion. But... Baba did say something about the corruption of this place affecting them. Still, this could actually be real. But... wait a second. As mom and dad clash with the foe, your mother shouting out Samma Vaca to weaken him as your father trades slashes with him, you get an idea. You bring your Spirit Bit trailing back, swirling it around him as he pushes your parents away.

But he doesn’t react to it. You swirl it around him more, trying to get something. He does seem to grow slightly stronger... “GAH!” your dad calls out as he accidentally jumps into it. “IZZY! CAREFUL!”

“Dad, he’s not real!” you declare. “Calm yourself, he’s feeding off your worries!”

Mom stops a leap at him, then flies back a bit. She breathes out “Samma Ditthi” as the phantom approaches. “...Wait, but, why was he affected by-?”

You march towards the figure fearlessly, a confident smile on your face. You exhale and calm yourself, focusing your Ki around you. You close your eyes, and place a hand forward. Magil brings his blade up, about to strike you. Your father is about to leap to your aid, but when you open them up again, you simply declare, “Begone.” A jolt of Light Magic causes the figure to lose shape. That gets your dad to calm down too. And with nothing left to feed on, he returns to a blob of mist. Mom swings her Bansho Fan to blow it away.

“Heh, look at you. My own kid, showing me up like that.” dad laughs out.

“Nice thinking, kid.” Beelzebub praises.

Tapion merely gives an appreciative and humble smile as you walk back, declaring, “It was nothing. Hirudegarn still trying to break free?”

“It is, but that seems to have quenched it a bit.” he replies.

“Then we keep going. Until they’ve drawn out the other half.” Beelzebub states. “19, the other two you picked up, they closing in too?”

“They are.” She looks around. “I am detecting other energy signatures, but it would appear they are from the other groups...” The android girl walks forward slightly. “...Some of them are lost.”

You bring out three more Spirit Bits. “Gonna try to lead some of them back here if they’re lost. Better they stick with us than they end up trapped in this nightmare forest.”

“Eh, they could just blast their way out, or something.” Beelzebub comments. “19, anything else still out there?”

“Second target: 200 meters and closing.” she states as you all walk. “...250 meters. It has changed direction.”

https://youtu.be/YM0zcDvK9YU

“That’s not good.” dad states. “Pick up the pace, folks.”

Slowly you walk deeper into the forest. “19, where’s it going?”

She looks around. “North-east from its original location... it has found one of the people who are lost. 300 meters from us.”

You direct your Spirit Bit to that person, trying to get them to follow it, as you get the other three to locate any others. Agh, come on. You... you’ve got them! You direct the Spirit Bit to start heading back to you, the person following... and then running swiftly, as one of the energy signatures 19 spotted starts to chase after them. “Everyone, over there!” you point out, as the Spirit Bit comes into view, and with it...

“RRRRUUUN!” a frog man in ninja clothing croaks out, leaping past the thorny trees... followed by Majin Ozotto!

“Gotta be another illusion!” dad declares, even as the charging figure blasts through the trees.

“Dad, your sword’s somehow affecting the mist, and-” ...Wait a second. Of course! “Tapion, yours probably could too!”

Acer looks down at his blade, then smiles, glancing back at Tapion. The ancient warrior draws his sword, and notices that what you suspected is correct. As you calmly hold your hand forward, your dad and Tapion both stand side-by-side. You let out a calm burst of Light magic as you protect the frog ninja, causing Ozotto’s form to destabilize slightly. “Tapion, follow my lead! We’ll X-Strike it!”

“All right!”

“NOW!”

Energy flows into their swords, Tapion using what you taught him to put a bit of Magic into his swing as both he and your father slash through the illusive phantom. It breaks apart, vanishing back into the mist once more. The two of them stand proudly, nodding at one another, then looking back at you. Tapion flinches again, clenching his chest, but he is able to overcome it. “We... may not have much time... rgh.”

The frog ninja kneels. “I owe you, great Warrior. And you as well, Acer Mahogany.”

“Hey, it was Izzy there who saved your butt. She did the hard part.” your dad replies humbly. You smile sweetly, placing your hands behind your back.

“How’d you get separated?” Beelzebub asks, a slight hint of suspicion in his voice. “I thought you guys were going to be able to handle this?”

He lowers his head grimly. “...One among our ranks is helping the forest disorient us. Perhaps more. He... or she, or whoever the traitor may be, has separated myself from the main group, along with an unknown amount of others.”

“There are three others.” 19 comments. “Izumi’s Spirit Bits have failed to reach them. They have traveled away from them.” She looks over the area, crossing her arms. “...Correction. Two have stopped. They are possibly attempting to contact their comrades.”

As she says this... there’s a massive surge in energy you all feel. Tapion lets out a pained yell, falling to his knees. “AAAAGGHH!”

“TAPION!” you yell out as you rush to his side.

“That malicious energy can only be one thing.” Beelzebub states as he clenches his fists.

You look in the direction of it. ‘Gohan, please tell me you feel that.’

‘We’re heading towards it now, Yurin’s got Bisa and myself trying to find whoever’s controlling it!’

The ground shakes. Massive footsteps approach slowly Tapion struggles to stand, but he manages it and looks resolutely forward. “Hirudegarn is coming.”

You jump through some of the thorny trees as you sense Hirudegarn take its form a short distance away. ‘Gohan, keep your Ki as low as possible, and your mind as still as you can manage.’ your mother tells you. ‘Notify me when you’ve found whoever’s ordering it around, and if there are any phantoms you see trying to attack you, tell me immediately. I’ll be there to get rid of them.’

‘Okay. Three of the group have gone missing, one more has made it to Izzy.’ you reply, leaping down from a spiny branch and trying to close in on Hirudegarn. Still a good distance away... but it’s moving. A loud thud of its stomping feet makes that certain. ‘Bisa’s following me, trying to corner it, but someone’s intentionally trying to disorient us. I’ll keep you updated, mom.’

Let’s see. You lost the frog ninja, the fox ninja, the tall dark-skinned ninja lady, and the dog ninja. And one of them seems to have made it to Izzy... think it’s the frog one. Two more have stopped... and seem like they’re vanishing into the forest. Trying to hide? Trying to conceal their involvement with Hirudegarn? Either way, you’ve got to head them off. Ugh, and the forest is giving you vibes like their fortress, but amplified hundredfold. It’s eerie.

>A. Move forward in short bursts, try to get ahead of Hirudegarn
>B. See if Bisa’s had any luck
>C. Yamcha’s Spirit Ball technique could potentially draw one of them, send it forward

Hey Kato, can we add a little bit of light magic to the spirit ball?

You form a Spirit Ball and send it forward, far ahead of you as you approach where you last sensed one of the lost ninja, still trying to keep watch over Hirudegarn. Bisa seems to be heading in a bit closer, but is keeping his distance from the monster. Your Spirit Ball heads forward, and seems to catch the attention of someone. You move it to tell whoever it is to follow, and keep heading towards where you last sensed one of the others.

And out from the shadows, comes... “Oh thank god, it’s just you.” the tall, dark-skinned ninja lady sighs out in relief.

“Hey, ‘just’ me?” you repeat, chuckling to let her know you’re joking.

“I could sense something coming towards me, but seemed like it wanted another target. Pretty sure I heard Gren’s voice in the distance. We-” The ground shakes underneath you both as Hirudegarn seems to jump away... and vanish again. Not good.

“We should stop whoever’s controlling that thing. You have any idea of who you were with when you got lost?” you question.

“That burst of fog that got us all disoriented is what did it. But I think I heard Hoi muttering something. Couldn’t understand what it was, but didn’t sense anything. Didn’t feel like Magic or anything of the like. More like... I dunno, maybe he was signaling someone?”

The two of you start moving forward when you feel something approach you. A chill travels down your spine. “...We’re not alone.” You turn your head, looking where you sensed it approach. What was... THERE! You bring your guard up quickly as something leaps at you, kicking down to you. You’re able to block and knock it away... oh. Oh crap.

“Guessing that’s not a friend of yours.” the ninja lady states as the red figure glares down at you both... eyes focused on you the most. Eyes filled with hate.

“Basilea. So Towa’s got you doing this to make up for your mistake from last time?” you ask, calm, but confident.

She doesn’t reply, merely growl lowly as she looks at you hatefully. You sense... just this awful sensation coming from her, malice and dread and rage.

You stare her down... and then turn your head and walk away. The ninja lady looks at you like you’re crazy. You just keep walking, your mind calm. Basilea leaps ahead of you, snarling. “Don’t. Ignore. Me.”

You just walk away, letting Maple know, ‘I think I might be seeing one of those illusions. Got any pointers? More are out there doubtlessly, but I’m trying to focus on Hirudegarn.’

Mom hesitates a reply. ‘...Gohan, I’ll be there in a-’

‘No, no, let me handle this. I’m staying calm here. I can handle this. Trust me.’ you reply. Basilea leaps in front of you again, seething with rage.

‘...Okay. Don’t raise your Ki. Don’t engage with it. Dodge, and keep your cool. It wants to feed off your anxieties, your fears, everything that you’re worried about.’

‘Got it.’ You look over to the ninja lady and nod for her to follow.

“DON’T. IGNORE. ME.” Basilea growls. You look up at her, blink, and then walk past, unflinchingly. “I’LL HAVE YOUR HEAD, PEASANT!”

https://youtu.be/0mcHP1HYkds

“You won’t.” you reply. She yells and leaps at you. You dodge easily. “Because you’re not real. Just a phantom of my fears given physical form.”

Basilea screams, then tries to slash and swipe and strike at you. You dodge each of her blows, recalling your training with Pantea. She’s all wrath. No substance. The ninja lady finally starts to follow, realizing that Basilea... doesn’t even notice she’s there. “YOU’RE WEAK! YOU’RE TOO HEADSTRONG! YOU’RE PATHETIC AND HYPOCRITICAL!” She pulls her arm back and readies a powerful right hook. “YOU’RE A DISAPPOINTMENT TO EVERYONE YOU CARE ABOUT!”

You close your eyes. This isn’t real. As Basilea is about to strike you... she stops her fist right in front of your face. “I’m not letting any of that control me. Maybe these thoughts haven’t completely vanished. But they’re not who I am. I’ve moved past that.” Your eyes open, and with determination in your voice, declare. “I am Son Gohan. And I will not fall like that again. Begone, phantom.”

Her form becomes hazy. You walk around it, and it collapses to the floor. You and the ninja lady pick up the pace. The hazy form of Basilea just... stays there, anguished, looking like it wants to scream, but its voice won’t come out. It’s still there, physically. But its strength has been quenched completely. You notice the ninja lady smile at you, commenting, “That was pretty cool, kid.”

“Felt good to get that off my chest, and really have it stick.” you reply. You sense that you’re close to Izzy’s group... but you get the sense that they’re not alone. You’re feeling brief spikes of Ki. And around them, the form of Hirudegarn seems to be lurking in the mist.

First thing’s first... ‘Hey, mom. Made it out okay. Thanks for the help.’

‘Glad to hear, Gohan. Where are you headed?’

‘Close to Izzy now. Hirudegarn’s almost there. I’ll keep in touch.’ You and the ninja lady hide behind a jagged tree as you contact your cousin as well. ‘Everything okay over there? I’m almost there.’

‘More than okay! We’re holding off the phantoms, and Tapion’s been able to keep Hirudegarn sealed inside. I think we’ve got a lead on who’s responsible for this, but we’re not gonna take any chances. You keep up your search.’

Her tone seems... oddly enthusiastic. Huh. Well, good for her then. You look to the ninja lady. “Of those that went missing, was there... anything off about them before this happened? Anything at all?”

She crosses her arms. “Well, before this happened all of us were kinda on edge. Bisa seemed to be the most calm, saw him telling our Lady that he’s sorry he let Hoi control him, and wanted to make up for what’s happened. Let’s see... if Gren’s with your cousin, he’s probably okay. Provided the forest isn’t causing him to see Ozotto again.”

Make up for what’s happened, huh? “The fox guy and dog guy were among those that ended up lost. What about them?”

“Ol’ Frank didn’t seem any more uneasy than the rest of us, though he was kinda twitchy when we entered. Chein on the other hand seemed a little melancholic, and his nose kept acting up.”

You can sense three Ki signatures briefly move, then disappear. Some distance away, Hirudegarn touches down again... right where YOU just were, confronting the phantom of Basilea. Was it trying to find YOU? Hmmnn... “Did any of them seem to behave oddly around Hoi?”

“Gren kept his cool, though I could tell that part of him didn’t ever really trust the little jackass. Bisa gave ‘em the scariest look I’ve ever seen on his face, probably for good reason. Frank looked like he was the most wary... hrmn. Maybe he was expecting Hoi to try something. Chein didn’t really have much a reaction last I saw.”

Okay, last question then. “If Gren was worried about Majin Ozotto, what might the rest of them be worried about? And what about yourself?”

She’s hesitant when she responds. “I’d... guess Bisa would be too focused on the task at hand. If he encountered something like you did, it might take the form of the monster. Frank, he’d be howling over Ozotto too. Chein, I think he’d...” She hesitates telling you this, but figures she can’t hold it in. “...he’d probably be worried about his great uncle.”

“Who is...?”

“Gohan. Don’t speak a word of this to anyone.” she asks of you. You nod, then lowly states, “...Furry.”

Fur- Oh, King. Wait, what? WAIT WHAT?! ...Gonna tuck that little nugget of information away. Focus. “And yourself?”

“...Parents.” she mumbles out. “Haven’t seen them yet, so guess I’m in the clear. Not... gonna have to go through that again.”

You’re curious, but you try not to pry any further. Okay, you’ve got all that, now what to-

“-KO-RE-SO-KAA-KLUN-MON-BA-RI-PA-KAI-”

Out of time, but here's a QRD on the suspects
>Bisa
Unlikely as he had to be vampired last time. Still a little surprised he's with Yurin, but he cares about the planet enough to be involved with two groups who want to protect it.
>Gren
Unlikely as he's a frog. If we presume that the one carrying Hirudegarn needed to go to meet Darkness. Beyond that, he's basically surrounded himself at this point, bad tactical position to be in if he gets found out. IIRC, joined up because of Ozotto, unlikely to be friendly to other Majin
>Chein
Most likely suspect. Not at 100% and on a mission? May have forced his way in, or tried to hide his cold. Has connections to King Furry. May be being used against his will to keep the people of the planet safe. Additionally, Darkness related comments from earlier
>"You"
Another likely suspect, probably the most well-equipped to take out at least one member of the team (Gohan) without the others knowing. Unfortunately, she botched a chance to do so with Baz earlier, dropping her down the ladder
>Frank
Wild card, but see Gren above, may be in a similar situation.

I now fully expect us to get smacked down since we delayed.

There’s... just not enough information to tell who’s doing this. You could head out and try to stop the track, but that’s not the main issue here. You snap your fingers. “There has to be something I’m missing. Something we’re all missing...” Glancing at the lady ninja, you ask, “I need to compare notes with mom, sis, and my cousin. Is it okay if I mention some, but not all, of the stuff you’ve told me?”

She sucks in air through her teeth. She doesn’t want to say yes. But she knows you’re short on time. “...All right. Use your discretion. But do what you can.”

You contact your mother first. ‘Okay, mom, what do you know about Hirudegarn’s last location?Where was it, and would there be any tells to it?’

‘W-well... it may, MAY, have been up in the Land of Ice. Possibly to absorb Darkness into itself...’

Oh boy is that worrying! ‘We’ve got a list of suspects out there. Here’s what we know...’ You describe everyone to Maple, then repeat the list to Peppa and Izumi as you feel Hirudegarn disappear again. ‘So, that’s everyone. What do you all think?’

‘Why was the dog guy’s nose acting up?’ Peppa asks.

You look over to the ninja lady and ask her that. She rubs the back of her neck. “Uh... cold, I guess?”

Suspicious. “Cold... was he physically cold at all? Like he’d been somewhere chilly recently?”

“Was supposed to be in Jingle Village for a time. Scouting out there... oh.” She facepalms. “Oh.”

Not good. You ask everyone next for everything they’ve got on confrontations with Hirudegarn, and what it was doing and how it was behaving, and who or what might have been controlling it. When your sister brings up the captured ninja, the one that’d given her so much grief before... you hit upon an idea. “Ideal... Yurin’s ideals... hey-” You stop yourself, realizing you don’t even know this lady’s name. “...Er, bad timing to ask this, but you’re...?”

“Ume.” she tells you quickly.

“Ume! Yurin gave me the big speech on her ideal. On the idea of peace through fear, and making Earth terrifying to hostile forces. But the one that was captured... he seemed to take that idea a bit too far. How do you, and everyone else you’ve mentioned, see that idea?”

“I agree with her completely. And honestly I’d say this is a prime example of why. Hoi tricked us, yes, but if we were better prepared, we could’ve stopped him... maybe have found a way to protect and free Tapion on our own. We need this thing stopped.”

She’s clear. “Gren?”

“He... was among the first to join our Lady’s cause. Ozotto left an impression on him he’d never forget. That’s why it might’ve appeared to him. He wants this thing vanquished even more than I do, as he’d know better than trying to use it. You can’t control a monster like that, not truly.”

He’s clear. “Frank?”

“Same as Gren. He’s a bit more tricky though, harder to read at times. He tends to get nervous more easily than he’d admit, but he believes in our Lady’s ideals just as much as the rest of us.”

Maybe clear. “Chein? You don’t have to tell me everything, just... what’s relevant to my question.”

A loud thud echoes through the forest. You sense several dark presences converge on Hirudegarn as it reappears... and then all vanish. Slowly, the monster starts to stomp towards Izzy’s group. This time, it seems determined... and even stronger than before. Ume quickly states, as this is happening, “He wants to protect the Earth. Didn’t think his great uncle was doing enough of a job proactively. I... I don’t see why he’d want to team up with Hirudegarn though...”

Last one. “Bisa.”

Ume laughs. “He’s our Lady’s boyfriend. He IS the first to start working with her, showing her all the Crane School had learned and helping her develop these things. He believes in her ideals the strongest. Even if things look suspicious for him, it’s not like he’d betray her after all that’s happened...”

“...What if he doesn’t see it as a true betrayal?” you ask. She shakes her head, but you continue, “The one we captured claimed he was doing this for Yurin, that her dream would survive... and he tried to kill himself, Peppa said. And getting controlled by Hoi, what better way to make up for that mistake than usurp his ploy and use it to further his, and Yurins, goals. Also-” ...Of course. “Your hood. Bring it down.”

“...Uh-”

“Just, please! Hurry!” you ask. Ume does so, showing you her curly black hair... and no Talisman. You next tell Izumi to check the frog ninja with them. No Talisman too. You report what you know to mom and Peppa as well.

‘Crap, it’s here!’ Izzy declares. A loud yell can be heard... Tapion’s voice. No, damn it. You still don’t know who it is! You’ve got two main suspects, but-! ‘...Gohan.’ your cousin calls out to you telepathically, interrupting your train of thought. ‘This can’t be the work of just ONE person! There have to be at least TWO!’

>Twitter account is @KatoQm, will have status updates there
>Got some questions for the QM? Suggestions? Throw them at ask.fm/QMKato and I'll try to answer them as best I can

All right folks, that's all for tonight. We’ll continue tomorrow starting ~5:30 pm PST. I’ll be around for a bit for some questions if y’all have any. Did y’all have fun?

One more night with Gohan, or a switch over to Izumi again?
>>
Ugh, I do not care at all about this mystery. Let's just punch all of them unconscious and then fight Hirudegarn.
>>
>>3298777
Bingo. And she hasn't faced her fear either, maybe because Hiru already ate it?
>>3298781
>He’s our Lady’s boyfriend
SHOCK! Good for Bisa. Local dirt farmboy finds ninja warlord to love. Hopefully he's not a TRAITOR
>>3298783
Good run. don't mind either way.
>>
>>3298783
>Two traitors
It all makes sense. No one of them could coordinate all this, because someone else needs to cover their tracks, throw off the scent trail, etc. Hell yeah I has fun!

Back to Izzy would be good. Glad Gohan got his character moment, but I wanna finish this with her.

>And she hasn't faced her fear either, maybe because Hiru already ate it?
While anyone can be a target, there's only so much negative energy to go around, and it likely feeds on stronger people with strong feelings when given the option. Basically, Gohan was a better potential meal for the nearby corruption than Ume.
>>
>>3298783
Good spot for Izzy, there's only so much more Gohan can do right now.

Also, can we get to know who's been rolling crits all night?
>>
>>3298783
Switching to Izzy sounds good. Hopefully she's figured out the mystery.
>>

Been assuming it's Izumi, but yeah, would like to know as well. Or at least, see how she's been handling this. Write-up, maybe?

It's been Izumi, fending off a few more phantoms, and perhaps something that's less illusive than it appeared.

You help Tapion stand as you tell Gohan what you’ve figured out. So, two traitors. One of them holding Hirudegarn, one of them supporting the other. And they’re both close by, but can’t be the frog guy. The sky around you seems to darken slightly as the monster’s halves take form. The massive form of the beast lands, towering over you all, reaching through the treetops as it lets out a titanic, ferocious roar.

“It... it’s grown stronger...” Tapion pants out, his limbs twitching slightly. “Substantially so.”

“Chi-chi, let’s spread out! Izzy, keep Tapion safe!” your father calls out to you. “Maple, it’s here!”

You sense something in the distance charge up and fire something at the monster... a Dodonpa? Well, not only does it miss, it causes the monster to vanish... then reappear some distance away, stomping its foot down. Your mom takes a deep breath, then declares, “Samma Ditthi!” in the direction of the beam fired at the monster. “Whoever that is, they’re trying to stop it, keep it away from Tapion. I’m heading towards him!”

“Beelzebub, up to you to hold it off!” dad yells out as he leaps forward.

The Demon Prince looks back at you, Tapion, and 19. “Stay safe. This’ll be all over soon.” He then leaps away, flying towards the monster directly.

Tapion brings out his ocarina. “I’ll weaken the beast. Give them the opportunity they need.”

>A. All right, I’ll protect you as you do
>B. Bring our your Spirit Bits again, send them out searching while Tapion plays
>C. 19, take some of my Ki and start searching, nobody else can sense you, not even Hirudegarn

Samma Vaca is pretty much the only useful ability to stop Towa's villain transformations. The other ones are just things anyone with common sense could figure out.

Why would someone fire at Hirudegarn and miss them? Hirudegarn is like 10 barns, and they missed? Ergo, laser pointer to direct the beast. This where my common sense has taken me.

“Got it, Tapion, but first... 19.” you call out to the robot girl, bringing your hand forward. “Take my Ki and start searching. You’re able to go around undetected, better than any of us. Not even Hirudegarn can sense you. If there’s anyone out there who can find them, it’s you.”

She looks to you, then shakes your hand, drawing some of your Ki out. “I understand. Thank you, Izumi.”

“Trust you with this. Best of luck.” you tell her. She smiles at you, nods, and then dashes into the distance. You’re about to bring your shield up when you sense something coming towards you... no, towards Tapion! You quickly move to guard him, shield forming around you, mixed with Lightning magic to draw it to you, and take the attack. A focused beam, one aimed right at his ocarina. And while it does hit your barrier, it hits with enough force to break it, exploding upon impact and knocking you down.

“Izumi!”

“DON’T WORRY ABOUT ME! PLAY!” you tell him, bringing yout shield up again.

‘Found ‘em!’ your mom calls to you. ‘Fox ninja’s trying to draw Hirudegarn away! I’ll help! Izzy, you holding up okay?’

“I’m fine! I can do this!” you yell out. Hirudegarn’s power drops slightly as another Dodonpa is fired at the thing. Hirudegarn dodges again, but its reaction time seems slower. The beast roars louder as its attention turns towards you and Tapion. Its mouth opens wide, flames building up around it. You switch the shield to the Fire Reflector, and do everything you can to hold off the incoming attack. A torrent of fire engulfs you and Tapion, the Hero’s barrier holding as yours takes the brunt of the attack, but it’s enough to break through once more, letting you get singed slightly even as some of the flames are reflected back. Even with the decrease in power, the monster’s attack hurts like nothing else.

You fall to your knees in pain. Hirudegarn closes in just a little more... then stops. And is pulled back slightly. “HEY JACKASS, REMEMBER ME?!” Beelzebub yells out. He has it by its tail! “YOU’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE! DEVILMITE CHAINS!” Black and red chains of energy shoot out from Beelzebub, surrounding the beast and trapping it in place... but as it’s held there, you see its tail open up. Strange tendrils shoot out, some of them grabbing on to Beelzebub, some of them grabbing hold of your father as he tries to slash the tail off. They grab him just as he swings the Masamune into it. You... don’t feel it get any stronger, but you don’t know how long it’ll last like this.

‘Izzy, you were right! I’ve got one in my sights!’ Gohan’s voice calls out to you. ‘It’s Chein! GOT ‘EM!’

The monster seems like it wants to escape... but can’t. It’s stuck inside those chains. You’ve got it right where you want it, now to-GAH! A person’s arm wraps around your throat, choking you slightly, turning you around to face Tapion. He stops playing, his eyes widening. Hirudegarn struggles against the chains a little more. “You-!”

“Seal it inside me.” Bisa commands. You feel him bring two fingers to your side, building up Ki around where one of your wounds are. He’s got you as a hostage. “Do it quickly. Please.”

“P-PLEASE?” you yell out as best you can with his arm at your throat. “YOU SON OF A-! ACK! AGH!”

Tapion looks to you, unsure what to do.

You look to Tapion... and smile. Telepathically, you tell him, reassuringly, ‘No matter what happens. Keep playing.’ You then glance at Bisa and tell him, “You’re underestimating me. Big mistake! HAAAAAAA!” You bring out the barrier around you and let it burst off of you, mixing it with Wind magic sending him flying back. Tapion keeps playing, just as you told him, as you back up to him, standing ready to defend him.

Just then, Gohan comes bolting in, right as Bisa tries to make his escape. The man is able to dodge Gohan’s attempt to grab him... but that proves to be a distraction, to get him off-guard. Peppa teleports in right after her brother and delivers a quick but powerful gut-punch, the twins then both hit him hard enough to knock him out. Brother and sister high-five, then both give you a thumb’s up, Peppa tossing you a Senzu. “That’s all of them! Hirudegarn’s got nowhere to run and no more people trying to protect it! This case is in the ba-”

“AAAAGHH!” Acer and Beelzebub yell out in pain, the Masamune flying loose as the monster finally flexes its tail enough to dislodge it. It starts to drain their Ki... no, no, dad! DAD!

Twin beams shoot into the tentacles grabbing hold of them, freeing both of them. 19 swoops in and catches them, landing and bringing them down to you all. You run over to your father. “He is alive, but that sapped nearly all his strength.” She looks over to Beelzebub, his body... looking terrible, like he was turned into a prune. “...He may not make it, however.”

Hirudegarn starts to struggle against the chains more. You can sense the monster build up energy. Agh, now what’s it doing?

You get the Senzu into Beelzebub’s mouth. “Peppa, get my mom here ASAP, we need him or all of this will go down the drain!” She nods, teleporting away. “Tapion, can Gohan borrow your sword?”

He looks at you with surprise, still playing, but nods. Gohan leaps over to him and grabs the Sword of Braves, powering up. As Beelzebub takes in the Senzu, you leap away, looking for dad’s sword. You’re able to swerve around the monster’s foot as it stomps into the ground, spotting the Masamune a short distance away. You use the Raio-ken to bolt over to it, grabbing the blade right as Hirudegarn’s tail narrowly misses you. ‘Well well well, look who’s finally grown up enough to take us up.’ one voice calls out to you. ‘Think she’ll do him proud, Masa?’

‘She’s got the right amount of determination, Mune. Give it hell, Izumi!’

You smile at the sword, flying up into the sky. You see Peppa teleport in with mom, who immediately gets to work healing him up. You then yell, as loud as you can, “EVERYONE, GIVE IT YOUR ALL!” as you bring up the Masamune. “GOHAN, WITH ME!” Ki blasts start to bombard it, Kamehamehas, Dodonpas, Tri-Beams from Tien and Chiaotzu and even Yurin.

Your cousin flies up to you, but then Hirudegarn lets out its attack. A gigantic Explosive Wave, one that lets it break free of its bindings and takes out a substantial amount of the forest around it, knocking several people away from the sheer force of the attack. But before it hits you, Maple sends out some Spirit Bits to you and Gohan, guarding you both from the attack. Darkness begins to swirl around the monster, and then it vanishes, reappearing right above you and Gohan and trying to trying to stomp down at you both.

As they’re knocked away though, Maple raises her fist into the sky. Her aura condenses around her body, with a massive amount of it on her fist. A bolt of lightning shoots down from the sky to her. “NOW! THUNDER!” She leaps forward. “DRAGON... FIIIIIST!” A bluish-white dragon made of Ki shoots forward, surrounding the monster, crackling with electricity. “GOHAN! IZUMI! NOW!” Maple calls to you both.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny24zPeQLks

“RRRAAAAAHHH!” your cousin pours every ounce of energy he has into Tapion’s sword, his hair growing longer as he powers up into Super Saiyan 3.

You grip the Masamune tight. You’re not able to put out nearly as much energy as he can... but you’re going to give it your all! You let Light magic flow into the sword, the blade becoming encased in a titanic white pillar of energy, your Ki rising higher and higher... your aura turning purple. Sparks fly around you. “HHHAAAAAAAAHH!”

You and Gohan both bolt forward. You hit the monster with an X-Strike, then both turn around, reversing your grips on your swords. You both slash again, letting out everything you have. An explosion erupts around the monster, one strong enough to almost knock the two of you away, but you both stabilize in mid-air.

Looking back... you see the charred corpse of the beast fall from the sky, crashing down to the ground with a loud and thunderous crash. You... you did it! You did it! YOU DID IT! YOU-!

“Bravo.” a taunting voice comments, followed by clapping. The three of you immediately turn around, Maple firing out a Clothes Beam to try and capture that all too familiar voice. Only for the chains she makes to go right through her. Towa smirks. “Come now, you think I’m that stupid, little Tuffle girl? Hologram.”

“I’m going to keep doing this until you leave.” your aunt responds, forming another set.

“I just wanted to congratulate you on this. Takes a lot to beat the incarnation of a Demon God. Aww, and you must be so tired from all of it, too.” Towa remarks. Maple makes good on her statement, to Towa’s annoyance. “...As I was-” And again. “...Are you-?” And again. And again. You and Gohan giggle. “Forget it. Just want to ask... how sure are you that it’s dead? Here, let us take it off your hands.”

A powerful and dark source of Ki teleports in... right as you sense a tiny pulse of life from Hirudegarn’s corpse. Maple looks down. “MIRA!” And... he’s not alone. He’s got Hoi under his arm!

“Maple, I’ll finish it off! I need you and Gohan to hold off Mira!” you call out as your gather every last ounce of your Ki. Then, telepathically, you tell them to cover their eyes when you give the signal. “KAIO-KEN! TIMES FIVE!”

Mother and son nod at one another, then teleport down, both of them knocking Mira away. “If you think you’ll stop me, you’re-”

“NOW! SOLAR FLARE!” you shout out as you bolt past him, blinding the demon. Gohan slashes at him with the Sword of Braves, Maple depowering him and then unleashing a flurry of blows against him. While it doesn’t seem to do much damage, even with Tapion’s sword slashing at him, it’s enough to hold him off. Enough further that he’s forced to toss Hoi down to defend himself.

You stab dad’s sword into the charred remains of Hirudegarn. They start to crack and tremble, splitting open where you stabbed. Out begins to emerge a yellow, even more insect-like monster... but one with a wound where you stabbed. And one that’s still low on energy. You’re about to try another slash when Gohan calls out to you. “IZUMI!” He tosses Tapion’s sword down, with you quick enough to catch it. “FINISH IT!”

Bringing both blades above you, with Maple and Gohan stopping Mira as he tries to fire a Kamehameha filled with dark energy thanks to your aunt stopping it with the Gravity Blow you showed her and Gohan firing off a Kamehameha of his own, you channel your Ki into each sword... and their combined power seems to cause a bit of a feeback loop. You... you feel people cheering for you. You can do this! YOU WILL DO THIS! “HIRUDEGARN! YOUR EVIL ENDS HERE!”

“DO IT, IZZY!”

“FADE TO LIGHT!” The combined swords’ power produces a blade of energy nearly a kilometer in length and wider than your entire body. You swing it down with all your might, right as Hirudegarn turns around and sees you. The blade tears into the monster’s head, not merely slicing but eradicating it bit by bit as it passes through. Hirudegarn’s body evaporates as you slice through, from head to tail, bit by bit until there’s nothing left.

You exhale deeply as you calm your body. Agh... oof, you’re going to be feeling this later. But... but you did it. You touch down on the ground, your body struggling to stand once you do. Tapion walks to you slowly... a sweet smile on his face, his eyes watering up a little. “It... it’s over.”

“Y-yeah... he’s dead. For good.” Oop there go your legs. And you drop the swords. And you’re gonna faceplant. Tapion catches you and hugs you tight. You weakly hug him back.

“No... no! NOOOO!” Hoi calls out. “No this wasn’t supposed to happen! YOU... YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!” Mira touches down behind him, Gohan and Maple coming to you and Tapion, your cousin dropping out of Super Saiyan 3 but at least managing to stand. Hoi looks back. “We can fix this! I can fix this! I just need to-”

“Your services are no longer required.” he replies coldly, firing off a dark Ki blast that eradicates Hoi quickly and yet painfully, given the scream you hear. Mira looks at you all, glaring. “...Even without its capture, I have the data I need. Enjoy this victory while you can.”

“Tell Towa I’ve still got her spear.” Maple comments smugly. “And she can come get it in-person if she wants it back.”

Mira teleports away, most everyone else coming to where you are. Yurin smiles humbly at Tapion. “...We’ve caused you more anguish than we ever intended. But... it’s over. Great Warrior, we are glad we could help in this endeavor.” She, and the rest of the ninja behind her, kneel to him.

“I thank you. All of you. Your world, and all worlds, are safe from the threat of Hirudegarn. Minotia has been avenged... the lives of countless people that suffered because of it are able to rest easy now.” He lets go of you, but places his hand on your shoulder comfortingly. He looks to you and your cousin. “Gohan, Izumi... I feel I owe you both the most for this.” He then looks to Beelzebub. “Your Highness, thank you for helping Minotia, and doing all you could to stop Hirudegarn. I hope we can meet him again soon.”

“Yeah. On better terms, this time. Without the Majin threatening to destroy existence. Heh.”
“Well cous, it’s over.” Gohan comments. “How’s it feel?”

You tap your lips with your finger. Smirking, you then state, “Guess I made good on that promise. Izumi Mahogany. Majin Slayer.”

As night falls at Capsule Corp, with several of those who helped with the fight against Hirudegarn gathered there, you’re all treated to a nice little feast courtesy of Bulma. Most of the Saiyans manage to stuff their faces with enough food to feed an army, but the rest seem to dig in as much as they can too. Even Tapion seems to eat a bit more. And more than that... he’s happier. He’s relieved, his long quest to stop the monster finally at an end. And in addition...

“Proud of you, Izzy.” dad states as he places his hand on your shoulder, mom smiling sweetly at you. “You really saved the day there.”

“Hey, Gohan deserves some credit too.” you tell him. “Even if I did put in the finishing blow.”

“Don’t sell yourself short, that was awesome, Izzy!” Peppa calls to you, giving you a hug. “You looked so cool out there. Like a real hero!”

Grinning juuuust a little cheekily, you remind her as you point your thumb at yourself. “Majin Slayer. Looks like I’m even with you and Gohan now. You two beat Ozotto, I stopped Hirudegarn.”

Gohan taps his chin. “Eh, if you’d count it, mom and Shin stopped Majin Buu too. I mean, I helped, but they were the ones who kept the thing from getting freed.”

Speaking of, you look over and notice Maple focusing on something, talking with Beelzebub. Meanwhile, over on the balcony, you see Tapion looking up at the stars, a smile on his face. Pantea is out there with him, but doesn’t seem like they’re talking a lot.

“Oh! Right! Dad, Masa and Mune talked with me!” you tell your father excitedly. “Told me to give Hirudegarn hell.”

He seems surprised, but happy. “Heh. Is that so?” You not enthusiastically, causing Peppa and Gohan to laugh a little. “Well, looks like you certainly did. Surprised you pulled that off as well as you did.”

“You feeling okay still, Izzy?” your mom asks. “You did use a lot of power, even with you accessing the Raio-Ten for the first time...”

“Little sore, but-” Wait. Wait what? “...Y-you mean? Wait, was that... oh my gosh. Haha! Awesome!”

“Well yeah. Hmm...” Dad thinks contemplatively for a moment. “...I’ll be right back. Wanna check on something.”

“Okay dad. I’m gonna... talk with someone for a bit.” You stand up, mom raising an eyebrow, but not protesting. Gohan has a smug look on his face, but Peppa just gives you a thumb’s up. You walk over to Tapion and Pantea.

“-still a long ways from home. You sure you don’t want to at least check? I think mom and Maple could-” Pantea glances at you. “Oh, hey Izzy.”

“Not interrupting anything, am I?” you ask humbly.

“Pantea was asking me about Konats.” Tapion states as he looks up again. “I... must admit, I am a little curious about how it is currently. But in truth, it has been so long since I was last there, it may be unrecognizable to me.” He looks back at you. “Though... if there is anything I may wish to tell them all, it’s that Hirudegarn is finally gone. For good.”

Pantea looks to you with a telling smirk. “Want me to let the two of you talk?”

You think for a second, a sly grin creeping across your face. “Mmmnah. Nah, not... really up for that kind of talk right now. I mean, it’s not like want to have that... kind of talk right now, are you Tapion?” you ask him a little cheekily, giggling.

He laughs a little, shaking his head, Pantea adjusting her glasses as she looks to you curiously. “Well, if you’re sure...”

“I know a lot’s happened, so let’s... not rush into anything that.” You lean against the guard rail next to Tapion, smiling at him. “And... I think you should do it, Tapion. Check in with them. Let them know Hirudegarn is gone. Konats was your home. You loved it, did everything you could to protect it. Sure, it may be a long time removed from you, personally, but... it’d bring a bit of closure for you and Minotia, wouldn’t it?”

“...Yeah. It would.” Tapion agrees.

“Probably a way to check on it... what do you think, Pantea?” you ask.

“Like I said, mom and Maple could potentially help find it.” she replies. “Whenever you’re ready to try, that is.”

“...I’ll make the decision once we have Minotia back.” Tapion tells her. “We’ll decide it together.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Pantea stretches her arms. “Mmh! What’ll you be doing until then?”

He rubs the side of his head. “There is more I could potentially learn from here... ah, it has been so long since I could truly... relax, it is hard to really think of what to do beyond prepare.” he admits humbly. “Izumi, might you have any suggestions?”

“Uh...” Crap. What do you think he’d like? There’s a lot around the Earth, but what’d he enjoy? He met Melchior, got his sword looked at, uh... oh you’re starting to panic. What do you like that he’d also like? “Ilikeswords!” BAD! NO! VERBALIZING THOUGHTS IS BAD! You bring your hands to your face. Ugghhh. You look like a total dork now.

Pantea giggles. “I don’t think he’s asking you out, girl.”

“O-of course not haha! That’d be silly! Haha!”

“Though if you do wish to practice your sword skills more, I would be happy to help.” Tapion comments kindly.

“Y-yeah... sure...”

“It would seem you need a distraction.” 19 comments, walking to you all. “Allow me to provide. Tapion, during the encounter, I was able to absorb some of Hirudegarn’s energy, before saving Beelzebub and Acer. The results are... curious.”

“...What do you mean?” he asks as he tilts his head at her.

“There was a trace amount of Ki inside it that I was not familiar with. Not the Ki of normal mortals, nor the Ki of demons.” She holds her hand up and looks at it. “I have given what I noticed to Bulma, but I am curious... did Hirudegarn ever manage to absorb some of your Kami’s Ki?”

“Hmm... Tapion, what was Hirudegarn before Hoi’s people got at it, again?” you ask.

“An idol used in rituals to purify people’s hearts and watch over the planet.” he tells you, looking away. “It... was associated with an ancient force, and the sword and ocarina were used in some more esoteric parts of those rituals.”

Hmm... purifying hearts. That’d mean it was gathering some kind of negative energy, maybe? Then that’d mean... “Could just be a result of it absorbing Darkness, Beelzebub did mention something about Demons getting strong enough to become a Demon God... wait.” Oh. Ohhh crap. “Wait. Hirudegarn was supposed to be an incarnation of a Demon God, according to him. And if it could absorb Darkness and get even stronger... agh, and it was feeding off the negative energy in that forest, too. Maybe... that form it took was it finally becoming just that. Not just the incarnation, but an actual like, Demon God.”

“...And you killed it.” Pantea comments. Now THAT’S an ego boost!

You rub the back of your neck. No, no letting this get to your head. Focus! “Eheh, yeah... but that’s not what I’m getting at. Mira told us that he had the data he needed, even though he couldn’t capture Hirudegarn.”

“...We should tell Maple.” Pantea states, moving back inside. Tapion follows, you and 19 after him.

As you walk, though, you look to the android girl and tell her as quietly as you can, “Thanks for the save there. I owe ya.”

“No, I owed you. For your help in the tournament, and your trust in me then and now.” she responds with her usual blank expression, looking forward. She then adds, with a slight smile, “...But you are still welcome.”

After explaining what you’ve learned to Maple and Beelzebub, the two look at one another. “That’s probably the most likely reason for all this. Towa’s attempting to figure out how much she needs to become a Demon God on her own.”

“She did have that new... whatever it was she did when we tried to free Dabura. She’s probably already on her way there.” your aunt speculates. “Thanks for this, you guys.”

You place your hands behind your back. “Could we check with Baba, just to be sure?”

“Could.” she nods.

“What are you two talking about, anyway?” Pantea asks.

Beelzebub sighs loudly. “Well... I still have to prepare for Towa’s eventual attempt to take control of the Demon Realm again. Maple’s been trying to contact the Kais again. Apparently they’re organizing some kind of tournament, of all things, but got side-tracked with Shin coming to them to ask what to do with Buu.”

“Huh. That Kibito guy still salty over me and Sachie kicking his butt?” Heh. That was fun.

Maple laughs. “I don’t think he takes it too personally. I actually finally contacted Shin directly, got my chance to explain what all happened. Said he was amazed and proud to hear that, and apologized for not helping sooner.”

Yurin next approaches you all, bowing to Tapion. “Great Warrior. We again wish to extend an offer of hospitality towards you. We know you still have your own goals you must pursue, but should you ever require our aid, we will be willing to help as best we can. And if you would allow it, allow us to learn from you, and your abilities.”

“I will consider it, Miss Yurin. Thank you.” Tapion tells her.

Maple crosses her arms and looks to Yurin strictly. “You know... I still can’t agree with your methods, Yurin. But Gohan is right. We don’t need to be enemies. Even if I can’t see eye-to-eye with you, you want to protect the Earth your own way. And I can respect that.” She brings her hand up. “Agree to disagree, and try not to step on each others’ toes?”

Yurin... hesitates, but nods, then shakes Maple’s hand. “We’ll do what we can to keep things peaceful. Thank you.”

“So, Yurin, what’s the deal with Bisa, and all those who were working with him? If you don’t mind me asking...”

She looks down quietly. “He... he wanted to find a way to use Hirudegarn to bring about our ideal. To... not quite tame the beast, but seal it inside himself completely. Using the magic I derived for my Talismans to lock it inside him completely. So he alone would be forced to bare the burden. A sealed beast, to only be brought out whenever the Earth were threatened by the most dire of threats...” Yurin shakes her head. “I knew that some of us may become misguided in this manner, but... I never thought Bisa would become so desperate. He at the very least wasn’t allied with Hoi... for as much as that counts. He did want to help you, Tapion... just in a way that served our ability to protect the Earth in the long term.”

Maple seems like she wants to say something, upset by Yurin’s reply, but she holds her tongue. Tapion merely solemnly nods. “At least you can see that Hirudegarn is not something to be controlled, like the Kashvar attempted.”

Telepathically, and hesitantly, you ask Maple, ‘We were discussing ways to help Tapion and Minotia reconnect with their home once he’s brought back. Might you be able to pull any strings, to help them out if they... want to go back to a time before all of this?’

Maple realizes exactly what you’re asking... and notices you tremble a little as you ask her this. She smiles, and responds telepathically, ‘If that is what they wish... and if you’re sure you’re okay with that too.’

You nod, then ask aloud, “Did Shin ever find a way to deal with that Buu thing?”

“For now, Buu’s been sealed away on his planet. Maybe the Kais will be able to find a way to get rid of it for good... or maybe even reawaken a force of good trapped inside it. Until then, though, it’s locked up nice and safe, away from Towa’s reach.”

“Yeah, her with Majin Buu under her control, or even her knowing how Buu works, is a recipe for absolute disaster.” Beelzebub adds. “Guess we can be lucky for that, at least. Kept her from getting Hirudegarn, kept her from getting Buu, and hopefully we’ll be able to keep her from getting anything else that might bolster her forces.”

“Hoi said there was something he could do to fix this... there’s no way to bring Hirudegarn back, right?” Confidently, you add, “I mean, I beat it once, I’ll do it again until it stays dead.”

“Most likely he meant the manner they used on the ancient statue it came from back on Konats.” Tapion tells you. “Unless he tried to resurrect it like he you are trying to bring back Minotia.”

“Hmm... something to watch out for then.” Maple states. “Either way, sounds like we’re all good here.”

Tapion thinks for a bit, then looks to you. “Izumi, can we talk for a moment?”

“Sure!” you tell him, trying to make sure you don’t sound too enthusiastic.

Going to the balcony again, Tapion glances up again, his eyes searching across the starry sky. “I truly appreciate all you have done for me, Izumi. You have worked tirelessly to help me adjust to this world, help me grow stronger, better prepared to face the beast that slaughtered so many of my people. And... you yourself struck the killing blow. I will forever be thankful for what you’ve done. And once I can reunite with Minotia... we can tell our people that this dark period of our past is behind us, forever.” He looks downward, closing his eyes. “...You are still young, in spite of all you have accomplished. Still growing. Still seeking to get stronger to protect your world. I... I am not sure if-”

“It’s okay.” you tell him sweetly. You place your hand on top of his. “Tapion... I wanted to help you because you needed it. Because you needed a friend. I know I’m still growing. I’ve got a lot ahead of me. But I want to make this clear, I didn’t want to help you for my sake. It’s... your choice, ultimately, on where you want to go from here. And alien princess to you or not, I want to help you with that. If that’s all, then that’s all. I can accept that. But I still want to be there for you. As a friend.”

“I... can accept that. Thank you, Izumi.”

Both of you look up into the night sky. Princess and Hero. Friends.

All right folks, that's all for this thread. Thanks for sticking around for so long! I’ll be around for a bit for some questions if y’all have any. Did y’all have fun? How has all of this been so far? The Ninja Plot, the Tournament, the Herans, Babidi, and finally Hirudegarn? Please, feel free to share your thoughts on this.

>Did y’all have fun? How has all of this been so far? The Ninja Plot, the Tournament, the Herans, Babidi, and finally Hirudegarn? Please, feel free to share your thoughts on this.
Okay.

The Ninja Plot: Really cool, I liked going after them with Peppa and then talking to them with Gohan, and the hidden nature of the Wrath of the Dragon parts was neat.

The Tournament: Really fun! you didn't put the race scene in The one-on-one fights were really fun with crazy environments and put us on our toes a lot of the time.

The Herans: What we saw of them was funny, I always enjoy it when we get to make our enemies look like fools. However, I don't like how every time a really big dude comes out, every one's powers combined in one big ol' beam struggle wipes them out. We do it kinda often, so if a strong villain could run off with the plot for a bit and beat us up with a bunch of crazy attacks and moves instead of get hit by a team attack that'd be nice.

Babidi: I really want to see Gohan fight Peppa in a serious stakes sorta thing, so I was going all in on Majin Gohan. Fighting Buu would've been fun as well, he's a planet-busting threat with actual personality that could have many recurring battles that could be different depending on which Buu we're facing. Even if it's for the best that we didn't get either of those Majins, I still think about "what if?" I thought the characterization for Gohan was all over the place, we just had two sessions as him and a Christmas special to go off of, and then we folded on being Edgy because canon!16 scolded us. I wish we could be consistent with our choices instead of "Well, we had our fun being temperamental, time to be good and nothing but." Babidi was fun, I like how it was a case of "Towa is an active pain to you, Babidi is a potential pain to you, which should you focus on?" even though he's still the worrrst. Putting someone in HFIL seems a far kinder fate than being stuck in a jar if you ask me.

Hirudegarn: Hooooo boy.

There was SO MUCH exposition in this arc. Exposition about Hirudegarn, and Tapion. And talking about what to do about Hirudegarn. You would think the recurring battles with Hirudegarn would mitigate this, and it helps. But, when we've beaten up Hirudegarn the third time, Hirudegarn stops seeming like a big deal! He's not a threat to the world, he's just that NES Jason who you have to go fight off in order to get the Jason Alarm to stop blaring. Hirudegarn doesn't have any personality to him like better villains or Godzilla will display, he's just roaring and rampaging all the time. It's like fighting a Feral Oozaru with a weird tentacle tail.

And then, the ninjas come back long after people thought that part was all settled, and Gohan has to do a whodunnit of who's holding the remote control for Hirudegarn instead of fighting Hirudegarn. It's very similar to a kaiju movie in that it includes the scenes with the humans that people skip over to get to the monster fight. All the ninja seem very generic since no effort was made by any of the characters except Gohan to get to know them, and the ninjas all put him at arms length instead of trying to Cypher it up to make him trust in them. It wasn't really an interesting mystery of who the ninja controlling them was since most of the ninja have been total dicks to us.

The characters hanging out was nice. I liked seeing Goku give Peppa advice on stuff other than fighting though Love could be considered the biggest fight of all, ohohoho~, and Izumi trawling the internet with Giru was a rager, a blast even! Gohan doesn't have any friends to hang out with, and Tapion's EE sessions were awesome! I enjoy seeing the characters grow stronger in ways that aren't bigger numbers and transformations.

Catching Churai was cathartic to say the least, and Swiper No Swiping Mira was cool too. I hope we get a villain with a personality and considerable strength next saga.
>>
>>3304060
That was really sweet. Thanks for running, Kato! It's been a blast through and through. I'll have to wait a bit to give my full thoughts on everything that's happened, but I think my favorite bits that've happened so far were:

>Izumi in the Prelims
Teaming up with Ghost girl and Sachie was a ton of fun. Izumi being able to punch well above her weight class with their help and with some clever tricks (and just a bit of Kibito underestimating then all) and actually score a win was awesome.

>Peppa in the final 4
Fighting Goku, 19, and Vegeta all at once, using all the tricks in her arsenal, confronting her issues with Vegeta, and finally claiming victory, it was hype as Hell.

>Cocoa date
It was adorable, and reinforced why I like them together. They work well together, as friends, and maybe more. I like Cocoa in general, but that really did make me want to see the two of them spend more time together.

>Izzy stopping Hirudegarn
Victory goes to those with COURAGE! Was great to see her get such a cool finish, and as pointed out now she's tied with Gohan and Peppa with defeating Majins.
>>
So, something to think on what with Towa's new transformation. She's not quite a Demon God yet, hence her need to try and learn from Hirudegarn. It uses the power of darkness to boost her strength even further, and I can assume that it operates using some kind of magic. It also gives her an outfit change, into something more skimpy and whatnot. We have seen a magic-based transformation in Dragon Ball before, that also gives an outfit change, that isn't a Saiyan-only form. It was shown off in the Tournament of Power.

Yes, that's right. Towa has become a Magical Girl.

Caught up with this, Kato, thanks for running. So, feedback,

>Ninja Plot
Was a great reintroduction to all this. Got to establish the new QMCs, and the mystery kept us on our toes. I think my favorite parts were the ones focused on Peppa and Cocoa and Peppa's developing sense of justice. Personally would have liked to spend a bit more time with Videl during it, though.

>Tournament
There was a lot of fun here. The fights were dynamic and entertaining, I liked Gohan and Izumi making some new friends, the fight against the Herans was cool, and my favorite parts were Peppa claiming victory and 19's character development. I would have liked to see more from the other fights though. Oh, and the date with Cocoa was adorable.

>Babidi
This was a really interesting dynamic going in. I really liked the mutual respect Maple and Shin seemed to have for one another, the fight of her vs. Towa and the final rush to stop Buu's resurrection was a lot of fun. I will say though that Gohan falling to those temptations as easily as he did felt a bit off, and especially trying to make him go all Sasuke didn't sit well with me. More of a complaint towards the players trying to force that out of him, but I did like that at the very least it became a character arc for him.

>Hirudegarn
The monster itself may have not have had much presence but I did like the characters involved in all this. Izumi and Tapion had a lot of good interactions and I adored the budding friendship and bits of character development. I did like Yurin and Gohan's interactions too, but I hope this doesn't get the idea in certain players' minds of "get kid wanna /ss/?"

So those are my thoughts Kato. Going forward I would like to see Cocoa and Peppa interact more, but also Videl and Pantea. Feel their friendship might be getting overlooked a bit what with everything else going on. Also, Gohan and Peppa need to interact some more. I think there are still some unresolved things with them, and feel going forward, they should spend some more time together.
>>
>>3307516
>More of a complaint towards the players trying to force that out of him, but I did like that at the very least it became a character arc for him.
No forcing needed, it all came naturally. His frustration isn't an arc either, like many aspects of a person it's baggage, and we carry it on.
>>
>>3307537
>"I guess I'm only good for cheating death."
>Natural

Pffthaha. Those awful write ins are the farthest example of what I'd call 'Natural development'.

Insecurity and self depreciation from Gohan went from 1 to 11 for honestly no reason. He was the ONLY one who won his fight with Babidi's and Towa's minions. Anger and rage at what happened to Maple and Yamcha? That made more sense. The 'I'm useless' garbage? Nah.

Peppa should talk with Mr. and Mrs. Amaguri about Cocoa...

Gohan needs to cheer up, and train with Piccolo.
>>
>>3307611
My point exactly. Shit was unneeded. Trying to make him an edgelord just so we could have a sibling fight is just... fucking dumb. He's past it now and we're better off for it anyway.

Few more thoughts going forward: I think it may be a good idea to have another part of a session interacting with Lime. What we did see with her was interesting, but so far she doesn't really have the presence Cocoa does. Monty I'm not sure about, think Peppa needs to talk to him directly. So those are my thoughts, Kato. Where we going from here? Grand Tour?
>>
I got a question for you Kato.

What keeps you going and coming back every week as a QM. How do you feel as players we can improve that will help benefit you?
>>
>>3307611
You can't even quote the write-in correctly, so why should I discuss it with you?
>>
>>3304060
Good run. Satisfactory ending for sure. I've already sperged out about Izumi inheriting the key to victory, but it's worth mentioning again. All smiles.

As far as the arcs overall here's my take
>Ninjas
My favorite part. That might be because I'm a sporadic participant most days, but it was something I could keep up with and chart out to make plans going forward. I could feel the animosity between Peppa and the ninjas, and the escalation to abducting Cocoa felt natural, but so did their tentative truce. It was an interesting balancing act, and I think you did well with it overall.

Bringing Gohan into the fold with them was a nice touch, and I appreciate that a lot of players pushed back against helping the ninja. It was a hard decision, but I think that Gohan was made better for it, especially after the absolute mess he went through with Babidi. More on that later.

I really wish we could have confronted Lao before the tournament, and there were a handful of opportunities to do so, but it never seemed like a 'good' time to bring it up. It might have been interesting to hobble Yurin, but I have to wonder if Lao's situation would be better or worse if we had done so. I liked the twist that Bisa was actually the mole all along though, because there was enough information pointing to him as a likely suspect, it just got drowned out by Lao's louder evidence. I am still curious about what will happen to both of them at the Crane School now that this is dying down.

Ultimately, I'm not so sure if I would call it a mystery, but it was a very good puzzle, with lots of layers and schemes. Like I said, a lot of fun to go back over and review.

>Tournament
That doesn't mean the tournament wasn't a good time too. I liked the introductions of the new characters, and getting to know more about how the world and galaxy are changing and growing with the introduction of Mifan as an alien spaceport. I would say Izzy really stole the show in the first and second rounds. She might not be the strongest, but she's a joy to watch in combat. I really hope she becomes a good technical fighter.

The Cash family was a nice touch, and I get the feeling they'll be lingering around for a bit, for good or for ill. Personally I think it's cute Monty wants to try and impress work alongside Peppa. Of course if he's a scrub, we should probably not lead him on, as a fighter, for too long. But it's nice to see Acer getting some love too.

The final showdown was a lot of fun too! Goku and Vegeta throwing down, 19 and Peppa clashing, and then the climatic showdown was explosive! I'm glad Vegeta is sticking around for a while, although I have to wonder if Nappa isn't going to go off on his own at some point. It might be interesting to spend some time with him and get a bead on how he's feeling, since he doesn't really seem to have anyone outside of Vegeta. It just seems like there's this big hole and he doesn't have a goal anymore. A little sad.
>>
>>3308251
Herans: There was some tension, but it was mostly momentary. A lot of well-timed rolls helped to wipe them out. Honestly, they were kind of a low point because I could tell there was supposed a bit more to them, but they just got scrubbed so quickly. It was nice for flexing, but it also relieved a lot of pressure on the events of Buu as a whole.

>Babidi
I have very mixed feelings about this. Where the Herans were't especially climactic, the spaceship encounters were. So many threads came together at once that it was a little overwhelming, and even though we came out on top, it still felt like a rout. A lot of people got hurt, we failed Baal after years of saying we'd help him, precious things were lost, and that's just in the story!

Babidi is also where I have my biggest criticism. I know there can be a tendency to go off and chase the newest thing, but Gohan's dogged pursuit of corruption was frustrating. I mean, I get that it's cool, but he was JUST coming off a very special moment where he pulled even, or passed, Peppa in numeric strength. He was building his confidence and I think that's part of why he was going with Maple to begin with. He even did well in his fight in the spaceship. And then he went berserk.

It was weird coming back after a couple of hours and seeing something of a trainwreck in progress. It's not that the reactions weren't within the scope of expected behavior, but Gohan charged off and left Maple rather than help her. He lost sight of the goal, Buu, and instead fixated on Towa. The cautious and measured steps that he had taken before were kind of tossed out the window. Which, I mean, I get it, Maple just got shish-kebob'd. But really, it felt like a dramatic turn. And then he comes back and lumps around for the rest of the mission? It was really frustrating.

I do think we managed to turn a lot of that into a positive though with his later interactions. He knew he screwed up and tried to find a way to get over it and fix something else. I'm interested to see what comes from Tommy and the ninjas. The latter especially seem to have taken a cautious but friendly approach to him.

>Hirudegarn
It was a little hit and miss as far as threats go, but seeing the kids continue to develop was enjoyable. I like the sort of tension tha's building in the Son-Mahogany household, although that seems to have been waylaid with the wrap-up, at least for the time being.

Izzy stole the show again though. Playing an self-assured ojou is a really nice contrast to the more impulsive and tomboyish Peppa. I'm not going to say she's my favorite character, but I will say that Chichi and Acer are very good parents. I'd like to see more of Izzy with her mom though.

And that's it!

>but Gohan charged off and left Maple rather than help her.
So, with you and that other guy, I get the feeling that no one trusted in Kibito to heal Maple after seeing his prowess at doing so. Gohan's temper was also spiking at the time, so he really did consider himself to be better at killing in that moment. You say we lost sight of the goal, but only because we saw the situation as it was.
>>
>>3308287
The powerhouse of the team leaving to chase after Towa instead of dealing with the more immediate threat of, say, Broly, is concerning. And all he has to show for it? Rainbow getting shattered.
>>
>>3308324
Powerhouse? Gohan's still a kid. Why not rely on Tien and Co. to handle themselves while we pursue Towa?
>>
>>3308332
Why let the KID go after Towa? Broly is the more immediate threat for him, and one that his kind of skillset can deal with. Towa was shown to be tricky and now had Dabura on her side. Gohan is lucky he didn't get turned to stone and shattered or worse, hauled off where no one could ever find him. Going after Towa was a mistake. Leaving Maple and everyone else at the hands of Broly and Ledgic was a mistake. Realizing that was part of Gohan's character development.
>>
>>3308346
Yup, it was a mistake he had to make, and Lapis didn't let Gohan go off on his own. So by acknowledging this whole debacle as part of Gohan's character development, you don't consider it out of character?
>>
>>3308357
When did I say any of that, and what planet are you from where that kind of thinking makes sense?
>>
>>3308370
If it's developing the character, it's in-character.
>>
Nevermind, you're not even trying to argue my point.
>>
>>3308394
What is your point?
>>
>>3308287
I really don't want to argue this with you because we're well past the point of doing anything about it. It wasn't a bad decision, I just found it very disagreeable because of how self-centered, foolish, immature, and outright uncaring it made Gohan appear. It also had the greatest potential for disaster, with very, very limited payoff, unless you were going for Evil Gohan, in which case it was the absolute best decision.

Good things came out of it though, so I would rather view it as a learning and growing opportunity than fixate on the negative.
>>
>>3308611
Getting his mom's sword back could be viewed as selfish. People did want the sword back as well.

>abandon mother
>abandon companions
>chase precious object instead
Gohan's absence pulled the balance of power out from under his allies, putting everyone at risk. This includes an unconscious Maple and Yamcha. Gohan wasn't there to keep them safe. Hell, Gohan trusted Babidi, the very one they were here to stop, who was aspiring to release a brand new cataclysm on the planet. The choice was a distraction to put the rest of the group in a tighter pinch and tip the odds in Babidi's favor.

Had either Maple or Yamcha bit it, or even if the group had been in a worse spot when Gohan and Lapis came back, Gohan would have probably lost his will to Babidi because his own power just wasn't enough and he needed more to win. That's why it was the best choice to get an Evil Gohan.

We were lucky. Or unlucky. Whichever you prefer. That something good came out if it doesn't make the decision itself a positive one.
>>
>>3314324
And Rainbow still ended up destroyed.

RAINBOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
>>
>>3314324
Given his state of mind, asking for his mom's sword back was one of the least edgy things he could have done. Even when he's damn near homicidal, Gohan still puts someone's prized posession over his own rage and bloodlust.
>>
>>3314324
Gohan is lucky he didn't get turned to stone.
>>
>>3314845
Lucky with a 19/20 best of three chance of not getting turned to stone?
>>
>>3314712
If you overlook that Gohan left his companions (including his mother and best friend's father) out to dry and put the world at risk for a sword? Yeah, sure, it was noble. If he had been in a situation where there aren't three large threats, or had one more powerhouse on the away team? It might even be a good plan. But that's not what happened, and Gohan ended up getting played by Babidi to go chasing after an object while everyone else fought for their lives. Including Kubito, who was supposed to be healing Maple!

As said before, it ended up being a good opportunity for growth because Gohan's triage in a crisis situation were framed very poorly and he totally beefed it. His Tuffle impulsivity came out at the worst time, and he needed that time to be angry and then reflect on what he did. Ultimately I believe he's become better for failing where he did, compared to Peppa's flub with Hoi, which Gohan admittedly played a large part in. But I won't ever like the decision that lead to the experience.
>>
>>3315017
Remember, Gohan got sidetracked by Broly, because he trusted people to have his back while he went after Towa. He informed everyone of what the new plan was. Remember that conga line of people going, "KILL BROLY, KILL KILL"? That was us getting distracted from our goal of reaching Towa. Towa had actually hurt us, so she was the bigger threat compared to Babidi. Getting the sword wasn't a distraction, getting bogged down with Broly was.

It's also sounding like you don't trust any non-Saiyan adult to handle themselves in a fight. Which is what we've been working towards for years now. If Tien can't fight Broly toe-to-toe by now then what have we been doing?
>>
>>3315099
Stop trying to justify Gohan's stupid decision. 1. The sword wasn't as important as everyone else and 2. wouldn't have been shattered of Gohan didn't go after Towa.

Could everyone else handle themselves? Possibly. Was Gohan chasing after Towa a stupid decision? Definitely. Gohan is goddamn lucky he wasn't killed or worse. Babidi WAS the bigger, more immediate threat, Towa WAS a distraction and worse a potential death trap.
>>
>>3315326
It wasn't just his decision, it was ours. How can you say a decision made by committee was stupid without the benefit of hindsight?
>>
>>3315352
Not all of us made that decision.
>>
>>3315382
Then you should have went against it harder. You can't complain if you didn't win or weren't there.
>>
>>3315352
>How can you say a decision made by committee was stupid

I feel like you don't play a lot of quests.
>>
>>3315428
I can call out a stupid decision when I see it.
>>
>>3315099
>Changing the plan
That was questionable too, but understandable. Babidi was an immediate threat and Towa was in retreat. It was within reason to pursue her up until Towa teleported away. Again, what good is the sword compared to the life of someone Gohan cares about?

>Towa hurt us
That's childish and shortsighted, which is why I take issue with the whole thing. Babidi was going to end the world if he got his way. And Brolly hates Maple more than pretty much anyone else in the universe. And Baz hates Peppa and Gohan enough to take great pleasure in killing their mother. And Ledgic just hates everything.

And, worst of all, Gohan left his unconscious mother in a confined space with three of them, in the house of the last, without anyone serving as a sweeper in case one of those knuckleheads gets it into their head to go after a soft target. The away team had tactical had numerical superiority, and Gohan blew it.

It isn't about if other fighters are capable or powerful enough, but a matter of keeping people safe. Gohan already felt like he failed on that twice, and with people he really cares about. But he kept making decisions that put others at risk, including himself.

A fight should be ended quickly, right? Then why would Gohan want to inhibit the ability to do so?
>>
>>3315435
Tuffle Quest is the best.

I think I've got enough of an idea on what I'd like to give as feedback. Given some thoughts already, but these are more complete ones. So, here goes:

Ninja Plot/Hunt:
This part probably stands the strongest. Had a good balance of action, adventure, mystery, and some fun downtime. It introduced the main trio and made them feel distinct. I think the parts I liked the most was seeing Cocoa and Peppa's friendship, they were really fun together, and Peppa getting Super Saiyan 3 after telling Videl how great long hair was. That was a real treat. Some things I think could have been improved would have been the ninjas having more directly an involvement and maybe a bit more on them in terms of personality; I get the feeling there was more to them that we didn't have a chance to see.

Tournament & Herans:
This part was probably my favorite out of all of them. I loved seeing the different tactical options everyone. Most of the fights felt like puzzles as much they did battles, and it was neat watching them all play out. I did like the fight with the Herans and how that went down, though I could tell that more was planned for them. Also, I think Gohan's match against Chuu Lee and how desperate that final push was was really neat, even if Izumi's matches stole the show. 19's character growth was great to see, and I think Izumi and Peppa were about equal in how fun they were overall. I would have liked to see some more of the matches though, even if just in write-up. Still, Champion Peppa was an awesome finish.

Babidi:
I think this may be one of the weaker parts overall. Looking back at it, we kinda did go overboard with his reactions, but also it didn't quite... I dunno, "feel" like he was all that important to it. Or rather, he did, but it felt more like Maple's story than Gohan's oh boy this is probably what Acer feels like. I do like where it lead to, and the journey he took to find his center again. I also like that we legitimately stopped Babidi and the resurrection of Buu.

Hirudegarn:
I think it would be more accurate to call this the "Tapion" arc. It wasn't about the monster so much as it was about him and Izumi. The ninjas, the monster, everything else was kinda secondary to their development. And even if it did stretch on a bit, seeing Tapion become more trusting and comfortable around everyone and Izzy grow to be a true monster-slaying hero, that felt great.

So overall I would say I greatly enjoyed this, and look forward to what's next. Thanks again for running Kato, you're the best.

There is one thing I think you could improve on in your QMing: How you handle write-ins.

Some of the time, you will leave out words from a write-in. This can make the MC sound like they're having a stroke. This can be fixed by just copying and pasting a write-in.

Other times, you will change or add words to a write-in. This can change the whole intention or implications of a write-in. It's kind of arrogant to assume your version of a write-in would be better when someone made it because they wanted the MC to say it. If you don't like the implications of a write-in, just veto it, people on Akun do that all the time. Again, this could be remedied by copying and pasting a write-in, or just saying no.

And then there are the action write-ins where someone will suggest a maneuver that isn't properly conveyed or received as it was intended by them, so it is implemented half-formed. In these cases, will you please ask what the suggester means? I am sure they would love to discuss the move with you.

Making write-ins is one of my favorite things to do in a quest; seeing one of your own ideas get backing from others is a real joy. Please consider these suggestions.
>>
>>3318611
>This can be fixed by just copying and pasting a write-in.
God no. I'd rather her workshop write ins to fit the character or fit the update than take your garbage that you get straight from other manga in it's entirety.

I think some aspects of write in always need tweaking, the directions the characters and the story take is ultimately up to Kato, as long as the intent of the vote is held to. Or in the case of controversial votes, some way to mitigate hurt feelings of the downsides and consequences of winning decisions.

There's always room for improvement though, regardless.
>>
>>3318751
Actually let me adjust that: write ins shouldn't force actions that are out of character, rather its the write ins that should be broken to fit them.
>>
>>3318761
That's wrong, write-ins that were made for the characters fit the characters. Nothing needs to be broken.
>>
I'm with >>3318617 and >>3318751 >>3318761
Write-ins don't need to be 100% exact. They should fit the characters, context, and tone.
>>
>>3318805
I agree on the latter part, but that's why we're here, do decide if a write-in meets that quota. If it does, the write-in gets votes. If something wins a vote, it should get in.
>>
>>3318810
The issue here seems to be that you don't trust Kato to fit the context. I do. Most of us do. And more often than not, guess what, she does. Usually better than just just copy-pasting it. We can trust her.
>>
>>3318827
Kato's "fixes" can get weird. Here's a write-in I made a few months ago:

>>3145873
"Allow me a moment to say, just how happy I am that you're all here of your own free will. Broly, I'm happy that you don't have a slave crown. Basilea, there was some speculation over whether or not you were possessed by some demon or other, but it's clear that you are 100% you. Ledgic, I'm glad you don't have a Majin mark, and have shown my mother your gratitude. All of you are utter pieces of shit who decided to be that way of their own accord, and I'm taking you down."

And here was her implementation, tweaked a bit:
>>3146057
>“(...) And you know what Broly? I can get stronger too. But first, lemme just say something. Actually, you too Basilea, and YOU, Ledgic. You know what? I’m happy for you all.” Your strength starts to rise as you dig deeper into it. “I’m happy you’re all CLEARLY doing this of your own free will. You’ve got no one controlling you, Broly, not a slave to anyone. Really showing your thanks for mom saving your sorry ass back when you first met her.”
>“And Basilea! Boy I was really holding out hope you were possessed by something, that this wasn’t you alone, but looks like these no, this is your true colors.”
>“And Ledgic, no mark on your head anymore, really showing mom your gratitude for all of that! You’re all utterly despicable pieces of shit and decided to be that way on your own, and I’m taking you all DOWN!”

There's are some subtle variations here, but also a crucial one.

>You know what? I’m happy for you all.
Not once did Gohan say he was happy for them in the write-in. He was happy that they were free and standing in front of him of their own free will. Gohan was ready to kill them, and killing slaves would just make him feel kinda bad. So, he gets to kill villains without remorse, and he's happy about it. That was the intent and implication of the write-in. This "happy for y'all" bit doesn't fit and comes out of nowhere. Why would he be happy for them?
>>
>>3318827
So no, as she's doing right now, I don't trust Kato with write-ins. I would like to.
>>
>>3318844
Kato's take on it is better. I can not agree with you, especially since you're either blind or genuinely can't understand the difference of a few lines.
>>
>>3318870
Why would you be happy for people you're about to kill? Instead be happy that the people you're about to kill are pieces of shit who decided to be that way.

Yes how dare we pass a fairly high DC and use the barrier technique Tapion taught us to get out of a difficult situation. How dare Izumi manage to save herself. We should have failed and been shot in the head. Or better yet, should have done nothing so Gohan and Peppa can save the day.
>>
>>3319105
Guess what Izumi doesn't use?

>>3319116
That wasn't the barrier technique, that was Explosive Wave. The DC was high tho. Still that was only one DC and then he was done for. No Crane School student of Tien's has ever been a challenge in a serious fight.

>>3319138
All that did was free her. It allowed Gohan and Peppa a chance to try and catch him. And of look we rolled for that too. And Gohan even failed that one.

>>3318960
Just so we're both on the same page, I'm roleplaying when I make these write-ins. We have a character provided to us by the QM, sure, but how he acts and thinks is up to us, and we have to get inside the character to do so. When we play as a character, we know the character better than the QM.
>>
>>3320565

>>3320769

Yes, a lot of this quest's players are weak people who shy away from the very concept of conflict. I guess it comes with the territory of a fixfic.
>>
>>3320787
Oooh, we're weak now. Nice save. That'll get people to agree with you. Big strong anon showing us the way.
>>
>>3320795
Yes, you are weak. You can't stand by the decisions we made as a group, and you fold on indignation when our character is acting out, as that would be problematic. Can't have an MC doing things that would make his mom frown, can we? Easier to just have conflict coming in with a new villain than have something within the good guys that we have to seek and destroy immediately.
>>
>>3320803
And here we get to the heart of this: you're selfish. You want your way all the time. You can't understand why others disagree with you and try to appeal to a silent majority when one doesn't exist. How can I be selfish when I'm arguing for a silent minority? A good shepherd would leave behind 99 sheep just to go search for that last one.

>You think you're getting bullied when in reality you're the one trying (unsuccessfully) to bully others into accepting your line of thinking.
Ha, I've only ever stood up for my and other people's way of thinking. If you consider that bullying, you have a funny definition of it. I reckon it's because you would prefer naysayers to be silent, and can't stand it when someone argues for the other side. But, I promise I will never shut my goddamn mouth!
>>
>>3320849
They're me. Along with several other posts.
And here's why I really didn't want to get into this, it's somehow become a personal attack fiasco rather than taking about the characters and the story itself. Kato asked what we thought, and I gave a response. I disagreed with a number of decisions, but I've rolled with it because there's not a point in getting mad at other players about choices that have already happened. The characters have made their moves, and any actions are now their own.

But it's good to keep these events in mind in the future and how they will shape the characters. What was their mindset, how might that impact their growth and relationships going forward? Should we, as players, think differently and use this instance as a turning point, or just launch even higher on the same path in the future?

I disagree with a lot of what you're putting forward, and have already said my piece about what happened. That's over and done with, and I suppose we'll decide where things go in the future to see how things pan out. Hopefully we'll find some things to agree on down the line.

Brought that up as well in my initial assessment. Once during the event was enough, and then there would be enough time to hash the rest out later. Although I'm not sure anyone could agree on why Gohan was apologizing, which may be part of why he kept doing it.

I feel the Social Link system is unnecessary. Sure, it's an easy way to tell who's better friends with who at the start of a thread, but also that many friendships are considered "incomplete." The numbers with it make little sense sometimes. Tapion is grateful to us for helping him out, and that warrants a level 3 camaraderie. What, was this relationship of helping him slay a curse demon not the focus of his story arc? Are the next seven links going to be about him obtaining the will to not dye his hair a cool color? How long is he gonna stick around anyway to warrant seven more levels?

You could quicken up some Social Links by jumping ahead to higher ranks when we make substantial progress through an arc, like pic related. Seems less intimidating then "Each person you encounter will have 10 milestones for you to reach."
>>
Hell, Maple didn't reach MAX level with Goku until many years had passed. And the only reward we got for it was a "Rank up" message that induced some cheap "Aw"s from the readers and then all our progress got reset with clean slates. So, this Social Link system is set up to artificially get people to go, "They're closer now, yey!" when the writing is already sufficient. Or it's that writing the actual relationships a character has with other people in little blurbs would take a lot more than "Here's a number."

I hate rating things like power or love with numbers.

>>3324679
>Others don't seem to have a problem with it so far.
Did others have a write-in go south? I provided examples of two times you decided you could make a write-in better when it was fine as it was. Should those times not figure at all into criticism of your QMing because other people deny their significance?

Your complaints are absurd and drive people to block your ID.
>>
>>3324722
My complaints are valid, I'm absurd.
>>
>>3324730
>We should drastically change how the Quest's mechanics work because it's difficult for me to understand/it upsets me slightly. Change them, Kato, even if nobody else wants that.
They. Are. Absurd.
>>
>>3324737
Drastically change a thing that no one would notice if it went missing?
>>
>>3324738
All of us would notice. We like Kato taking some creative liberties to fit write-ins to the situationd they're in. We like the Social Links between characters.
>>
>>3324744
Her creative liberties or limitations? I think she didn't have room to type one of them and tried to shorten it, resulting in a dud. Also, insulting you believe someone's write-in wouldn't fit a situation when they wrote it for that situation.

I think it's great that you like forming a strong bond with friends and loved ones, even if it's by living vicariously through another. I don't think it's great to quantify relationships which will tell you how attached you are, when you could make that judgment on your own.

I remember when there was speculation over what the Social Link system would do, and what it meant to be a Wild Card. Turns out, not much. It's all just references that serve as a shorthand for a relationship status screen.
>>
>>3324755
You alone see things this way. You're so sure that your ideas are correct that you want to deny others something that they enjoy. They're not. In both cases you're complaining about, Kato's takes are perfectly fine and you refuse to accept it. The Social Links are arguably more useful than ever since we have to keep track of three protagonists. Just because YOU and YOU alone dislike them doesn't mean she should cater to you, exclusively. You can voice your complaints all you want, but since NO ONE ELSE agrees with them, Kato is under absolutely no obligation to agree to them.

Am I clear enough, or will you keep this up for another few threads until you find some new asinine thing to complain about like you always do? How about a classic, like the HUD thing again?
>>
>>3324775
Everyone is turning a blind eye to Kato mucking up write-ins because of your bias. The Social Links are useful to people who can't read the mood between characters. You leap on my complaints with rebuttals no one asked for because you like doing it, even when Kato tells you to stop over and over again.

>the HUD thing again?
Oh yeah, HUDanon. Heh, that guy and his pipe-dream. Though, it is kinda weird how Kato has statted our characters for melee, ki, stamina, and energy but won't let us modify scouters to analyze the enemy's stats. Eh, whatever, crunch just gets in the way of fluff. Don't you agree?
>>
>>3324785
She. Didn't. You only want to see it that way because you want your very specific ideas on the characters to go through. Ignoring the dripping sarcasm from Gohan or how Izzy got cut off because she was attacked. The write-ins were completely fine. Social Links giving a good shorthand is useful to the rest of us, and you conveniently forget things like how they influence Fusion, EE, and more. And don't act like you're some blameless victim, you have been the one constantly mucking up threads with shitposting (something you admitted to this very thread) and uncalled for raunchy garbage. You even go after players who've tried to help you, for no good goddamn reason.

Also don't be cute and pretend you're not responsible for that. This is just like that situation, you want to change the Quest's mechanics for your sake and your sake alone. Just now you want to get rid of something that's been in it since the LITERAL FIRST THREAD, because you don't like it at this moment of all times.

Kato is perfectly within her right to tell you that she won't change things when the rest of us don't agree with you. She's acknowledged them and told you why she's not going along with them. She's been patient with you. We've tried to tolerate you. But you make it harder and harder every time you do something like this.
>>
>>3324810
>and uncalled for raunchy garbage.
My response is "It's a dragon ball quest."

>You even go after players who've tried to help you, for no good goddamn reason.
Just because they supported me once doesn't mean I'll agree with them all the time. Disagreement is how an accordable agreement is reached.

You didn't answer my question: Don't you agree that HUDs are a needless system since we can easily tell how someone's doing through our own observations and intuition?
>>
>>3324810
>Ignoring the dripping sarcasm from Gohan
I didn't put any sarcasm in the write-in, only sincerity that he would be happy killing all of them.

>how Izzy got cut off because she was attacked
>"You got you style, you got no grace, and soon enough you won’t have much a-”
Trust me, it was plenty bad before she got cut off.
>>
>>3324826
That write-in with Gohan was kinda like a dinner prayer in a way, being thankful that such a bounty found its way to your table, and that you get to tear into it.
>>
>>3324821
>"It's a dragon ball quest."
Not an excuse and you know it. There's a difference between a few gags and your constant stream of rauchy shitposts. They're not funny, at best they make us roll our eyes. At worst we get your "magnum opus".

>Disagreement is how an accordable agreement is reached.
That's not at all what you did. You know what you did.

>Don't you agree that HUDs are a needless system since we can easily tell how someone's doing through our own observations and intuition?
Nice of you to ignore what I said too, but here, you want to know the difference? One is something only ever relevant situationally, the other is relevant beyond that immediate situation. One actually IS superfluous and the other can have an influence on us as players in how we roleplay in both near and short term. You'd know that if you thought about this for any decent amount of time instead of having a knee-jerk reaction.

>>3324826
>>3324831
Kato's fit the situations better. You can deny it all you want, but Kato's takes are fine. And honestly you're just emphasizing why hers are the better take at this point.

I will say this though. I am sorry Kato. I know having to go through these arguments aren't fun for you. But when he does things like this, it makes these threads less fun for the rest of us.

Oh quiet, saving my criticisms for the end of a thread shouldn't bother anybody.

You keep thinking small scale like your hypothetical situations are the only ones that could occur while refusing anything else because you don't think something could be important or expanding. And your vague language doesn't help your case, it could easily be construed in favor of one or the other. Please consider a bigger picture, viewing something multiple ways, before refuting something.

Well, you continue to argue against me while begging for forgiveness from Kato, so I'm gonna go to sleep. Hypocrites aren't fun to argue against.
>>
>>3324855
>Oh quiet, saving my criticisms for the end of a thread shouldn't bother anybody.
Except your behavior doesn't stop there. It continues on, and on, and on. Every little nitpicking tirade.

And oh that's cute. If you need it, here. I can give more specific examples. At minimum, the Social Links can get us to think about interacting with other characters more. Like Peppa spending more time with Lime. Going forward, this can influence how we roleplay, in who we spend time with. It also influences things like, say, Fusion partners; we'd know a Peppa & Videl fusion or Peppa & Gohan fusion might actually be a better option than a Peppa & Maple fusion overall. You'd know that if you paid attention.

I didn't "beg for forgiveness" either you ass. But that's all you'll want to see it as.

>>3324679
Just getting this out there, I don't want us to get rid of the Social Links or you adjusting our Write-ins either, Kato. They are fine as-is. I'm rarely around for such things, but I think it would be a mistake to get rid of them. It's nice to see when I catch up with the treads later. I'm not getting involved in the argument these two are having, but I wanted to give my opinion.

To make all this a bit less of a downer whenever you get back to it, I do think it would be nice to have threads focused on just one of the trio going forward. As for characters to interact with, I think Gohan and Peppa should hang out with uncle Raditz more, Gohan should spend more time with his dad, and Peppa with her mom. Another thing of the girls hanging out would be good too, and maybe Gohan spending some time with Nappa and 16.
>>
>>3324863
Ooh, could you tell me which thread featured Goku and Maple's fusion? And the Social Links really helped us in Tapion's EE sessions as well. And people didn't read that Lime wasn't showing up all that much in our adventures or interactions, no, they looked at a number.

You don't know when it's a good time to concede, do you? I don't consider that a bad thing, believe it or not. After all, I'm the same.

>>3325458
I won't involve you in the argument, but I do have a request. Do you have evidence of Kato taking one of your write-ins and actually improving on it?
>>
>>3325684
>I'm rarely around for such things
That's all I'm saying in regards to your question.

>>
>>3325784

>>
>>3324863
You also, you've just been attacking my character and haven't shown that I'm wrong. Show some evidence to refute my accusation of the QM's failing if you want to argue above the level of a pouty child.

Dude, I know this guy pissed you off (and believe me, he wind no favors from me either), but like, calm down. He wants attention. Ignore him.

Who's the better mascot, Puar or Giru?
>>
>>3324442
Oh yeah, since you asked, will we be able to spend any time with the Ghoul School girls, Kato? They were fun.

Please don't make me repeat myself.

All righty.
