Hello in there!

You're likely a bit confused as to what's going on. Let me explain.

I have an android with me--her name's Pris, she's your mother, in a sense. She's also advanced enough to be a little irrational at times, and I'm such a sentimental idiot that when she said she wouldn't mind having a child, I got to work right away. So, with my incomparable genius and a lot of frustration, I've managed to create you. On a more practical note, it'd be a good idea to have multiple AIs ready to help out in case of some unforeseen crisis, and while I'm very fond of Pris, just one of her is kind of... high-maintenance, no pun intended. Anyway, there's a few steps we'll have to take before I can install you in a body--for convenience, we'll be skipping the infancy stage, which would be mind-numbingly boring for you to experience, I'm sure. You're going to need a name, and even though it won't matter *too* much since you're a robot, a gender. Men and women think differently, I'd need to change a few things around based on that.

While I could just pick your name for you, that'd kind of ruin the point of free will. I really hope we can get along!
-Dad
>>
Does anyone remember me? No? Well, that's fine. I'm back with a new quest, if anyone's interested.
>>
>>3283062
>Pierre
>>
>>3283062
Gaylord
>>
Nice to meet ya, anon
>>3283132
The name 'Pierre' just sort of pops into your head. Circuits..?
[INCOMING MESSAGE]
Ooh, Pierre! Awfully fancy. Alright, gimme a few seconds...

...

Several minutes later, you feel your consciousness bleed through various cables and into a new home. Your visual receptors come online and focus on the ceiling.
A voice distorted by speakers calls out.
"Hey, Pierre. Is everything good? No malfunctions?"
>>
>>3283136
we could use this as a middle name
>>
>>3283169
Only if our last name is Thunderbottom
>>
By the way, I'm using incognito mode and the internet's being funny, so if I don't post, don't panic.

The cables at the base of your spine disconnect. You sit up and look down at yourself.
You body is quite basic, but it's sturdy at least. All the internal components are protected by steel plating.
"Alright, champ. I'll need you to step into that alcove over there. We'll be putting some synthetic skin on you, it'll help you feel things and... well, interact with people without making them feel uncomfortable."
>>
I wonder if this will come back
>>
>>3283214
Will this continue?
>>
Aw, shit
>>3283214
>>3294223
You step into the alcove and shudder slightly as machines do their work. When you emerge, you're covered in synthetic skin.
It's cold...
"Everything's still good? No phantom pain or sensations?"
>>
>>3297807
Would be better if you gave us some prompts.
>Flex all extremities to determine success
>>
>>3297891
This, we don't know if you're writing another post or if you expect us to reply.
>>
That... is a good idea. It's been a while since I've done this.
>>3297891
>>3297897
You flex your joints.
"No anomalous readings."
Hm. That's an interesting voice.
"Glad to hear it. I'm opening the blast door now, need me to bring anything?"

>[]Can I have a mirror?
>[]This cold might interfere with my synth-skin and joints, do you have something to alleviate it?
>>
forgot the important third option
>>3297962
>[]No, I'm fine
>>
>>3297962
>[]Can I have a mirror?
Gotta look at our appearance and scream, right?
>>
>>3298063
"Can I have a mirror?"
"Sure, gimme a sec."
The door at the end of the room opens with a hiss of hydraulics. A man emerges...
"Hey, sport. Pierre. Whoever."
Your CPU is having some issues getting past the fact that this man's hair is bright blue. You don't have much experience with such things, but you don't think it's supposed to be like that.
"What're you--ah, yeah. I don't know either."
Aside from the obvious, the newcomer looks like someone you could... probably trust. He's wearing a simple black jacket over a white shirt, and while you get the feeling he grins a lot, right now he looks more awkward than anything else.
"Uh, here's that mirror you wanted."
He hands you a small hand mirror. You look into it.
"AH!"
The man--your dad?--catches the mirror as you drop it.
"Careful."
You take it again and take another look at your face. Short brown hair, vaguely pointed ears... and blue eyes. The same as your supposed father.
"It should be realistic and all... this is really awkward. I've had other kids, but I usually don't meet them like this, y'know? Uh... maybe we should go see Mom."

>[]That sounds like a good idea.
>[]Can I have something to warm me up? It's not very pleasant right now.
>[]Demand the reason for your existence.
>>
>>3298083
>>[]Can I have something to warm me up? It's not very pleasant right now.
>>
>>3298083
As much as I'm tempted to
>[]Demand the reason for your existence,
he did basically give us that in the intro. Let's go for
>[]Can I have something to warm me up? It's not very pleasant right now.
Before that, though, can we use the mirror to examine the rest of ourself? How tall are we? How old do we look? Are there any protruding mecha parts? Are we wearing anything (I assume not)?
>>
>>3298114
"Right. I guess it would be awkward if we had you meet your mom... in this state. Gimme a second."
He leaves the room and returns with some clothing.
"Hope these fit."
With some help, you manage to get everything on your new body. Your temperature goes up to more tolerable levels.
"It's warmer outside. Let's go."
You follow him out.
"So... I guess you can call me Alagos, or Dad, maybe. Whatever's good for you."
He scratches his neck. You're walking down a carpeted hallway, strips of white light in the ceiling guiding your way. A woman approaches from the end of the hall, and stops upon seeing you.
"Heeey..."
She peers at you. Her hair is golden blonde, and one eye's covered with a patch.
"Who's this, now? That kid Pris wanted?"

>[]I'm Pierre.
>[]Look at Dad and ask who this interloper is.
>[]Stare at her silently.
>>
>>3298147
Right. You're maybe four and a half feet tall right now, around pre-teen age. The synthetic skin covers everything, though some of it can be moved in order to access ports. You weren't wearing anything at the time of assembly, which was sort of awkward.
>>
>>3298149
>>[]Stare at her silently.
>>
>>3298184
Despite her efforts, her returned stare can only be at 50% power. Cause her right eye's gone.
"Ahem. Yes, Krystal. This is Pierre, my new son."
"Hi, Pierre. Boy, can I tell you some fuckin' stories about your mom and dad. Should probably wait a while for that, though."
"Krystal, don't swear."
"You can't tell me what to do."

>[]You're not my mom? That's a relief.
>[]Nice to meet you, Krystal. We should be going.
>[]Add some 'menacing' to your stare.
>>
>>3298228
>Look back and forth between as they talk.
We have no experiences therefore we have nothing to talk about.
>>
>>3298228
>Stare with no emotion or facial movement.
Let's take this robot down the "is it a psychopath? I can't tell." character route.
>>
>>3298237
>>3298248
You stare as they start arguing.
"If I can't 'act weird' around Kasai I can tell you not to swear in front of my kid."
"How're you gonna enforce that, huh? You wouldn't dare hit me, pussy."
"False, you know I would."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah, I'll fucking do it."
"Look who's swearing now."
"Two hours, training yard."
"I'll be there, but you better not skip out again."
Krystal walks away.
"I'm not the one who needs to worry about that!"
"You're not getting the last word!"
Dad sighs as she rounds the corner.
"She's actually really nice once you get to know her. Come on, sport."

>[]Do I get to fight her?
>[]She's great, can she be my mom?
>[]Query: familiarity = friendship, composition of speech = enemy. Enemy =/= friend.
>[]Stare silently.

>>
>>3298310
>>3298340
"You'll probably develop them, too. Me and Krystal... well, we like to joke around. Threaten to kill each other, that sort of thing. Even if she *could* kill me, she wouldn't really want to. I hope. Anyways."
Your father opens a door and beckons you inside.
Sitting on a couch are two women. One is... shall we say, full-figured, with red hair and a cheerful expression. She's also got horns sticking out of her head. Probably normal.
The other is much smaller, both in terms of height and figure. Her hair is the same shade as yours.
"Hey, Sasha, Pris."
"Hi, hubby!" says the redhead. "Oh, he's so *cute!*"
"Pris, this is Pierre... our son."
The brunette approaches you, almost timidly.
"Um, h-h-h..."
You see tears well up in her eyes, and she leans down to embrace you.

>[]Dad, my defensive capabilities are lacking.
>[]Awkwardly pat her on the back.

"Uh, this is Pris. She's your mom."
Your mother sniffs and pulls away.
"S-sorry. I got a little emotional there. Hi, Pierre."
She takes your hands and smiles.
"You're so handsome! I mean, I know ma--your dad made you, but still."
"I hope you'll be good friends with Auntie Sasha!" says the redhead. "Oh, we gotta introduce you to your siblings, sometime. I'll call Aisha later."

>[]I have siblings?
>[]Hello... mother.
>[]...can I have a book to read or something?

Probably won't post for a while, since I'm going home to get dinner. I hope you're enjoying this so far.

>[]Hello... mother.
>>
>>3298420
"Hello, Pierre."
She gives you another hug. You feel grateful for the dictionary your father put in your brain.
...wait. If you start feeling things, are you gonna end up like mom, blubbering over nothing?
"I'll make sure to educate you and teach you how to be a good boy. Does that sound good? We can go on walks, read books, play with your other siblings..."
She's smiling, clearly happy at the thought of having a child of her own. You wonder if her emotional cores work differently to yours, or if she just chooses to acknowledge every single one.

>[]That does sound nice, mother.
>[]What is your story? And Dad's? I hardly know both of you.
>[]Wonder when you'll be able to code yourself some combat wetware and modify your chassis.

>[]What is your story? And Dad's? I hardly know both of you.
>[]Wonder when you'll be able to code yourself some combat wetware and modify your chassis.
Why not both?
>>
>>3298566
You fantasize about installing shoulder-mounted lasers before snapping out of it.
"So... what's your story? I don't know anything about you."
"Ah, well. It's a bit of a long one. Summed up, it's the classic 'man wakes up with no memories, man discovers he is a god, god meets succubus, god also meets a cute android and a foul-mouthed blonde, god's mom finally finds him and gets him back home.' I can give you more details if you want, but it'll take awhile."

I shall sleep now.

I can confirm this is actually me, by the way.

>>3298797

"That's, uh... how should I put it. She's a paranormal entity that preys on the desires of mortals to steal their energy."
"I used to be such a parasite." Sasha says. "Hubby made me learn the error of my ways, though."
Dad coughs.
"Yes. I certainly... did that."
>>
>>3300018

Your father opens his mouth before faltering.
"Huh..."
He turns to Sasha.
"Honey..?"
"It's magic, sweetie. And lots of intimacy. We'll tell you more about it when you're older."
Your auntie pats your head affectionately.

"Auntie, can you say 'ara ara'?"
Your mom and dad give you suspicious looks.
"Ara ara." says Sasha, smiling and giving you a hug. "You're such a cutie, Pierre."
"Alright!"
Dad claps his hands.
"It's gonna be dinner, soon. I'll call the kids, ask them to come over. It'd also be a good chance to test your taste sensors, Pierre. Your reactor should last a few decades at least, but you should still give it material to work with."

>[]How does that work?
>[]Tell me about my siblings.
>[]Nod silently and replay headpats.
>>
>>3300733
>>[]How does that work?
>>
>>3300737
"It's a miniature fusion reactor. You could pretty much shove anything in there and it'd work as fuel, but food's more enjoyable. Plus, it'll help you blend in with regular people, in case you ever need to do that kind of thing."

>[]Wow! What else is there?
>[]Covertly ask Mom about this head patting thing.

"Not much at the moment. A black box to keep your memories safe, a skeletal chassis, all your software... pretty much just the essentials and a few other things to help you interact with the normies a little better. Once me and your mom have taught you a bit about engineering you can start making modifications."

>[]Like weapons? ...I *will* get to use weapons, right?
>[]What's Mom got?
>[]I guess I'll just put a 'stare silently' option on most of these for giggles.
>>
>>3300765
>Interesting. Tell me, as my creator, what intentions did you have for my existence? Do you have some plan for what I should be accomplishing in the world?
>>
>>3300766
"Ehhh... I didn't really have much. It's usually up to the kid what they want to do. Maybe become a warrior for the Order, or become an engineer, maybe an inventor. Mainly I just wanted Pris to have a kid she could be proud of."

>[]The Order..?
>[]Can I make more androids like me?
>[]What is it you do, Dad?
>[]Stare silently.
>>
>>3300794
>[]The Order..?
QM, it seems like this is a followup to a preexisting story. Is that so, or are we just supposed to be in the dark?
>>
It is. You don't strictly speaking *need* to know all the details, though. Since you're viewing from Pierre's perspective everything pertinent will be explained. Link below has the previous stuff. The last ones aren't canon anymore, though.

>>3300829
"Right, right. So... I'm actually the god of storms, so to speak. It's my job to control the weather and whatnot, people constantly petition me for clear skies, et cetera. The Order was created to protect and organize all of the mortals worshiping me, since conflicts between faiths can get ugly. Krystal was the founder of that, actually, until she died. She's fine now."

>[]Um... I don't think you just come back from that.
>[]Are there a lot of androids... wherever this is?

"Just you and your mom."
Dad narrows his eyes and looks around suspiciously.
"At least... I *think* it's just you two... you never can tell. Ah, here's a window."
You look outside onto a flat, silvery expanse. The sky is dark, and twinkles with millions of stars. Above, a green-and-blue ringed planet dominates the sky.
"We, uh, live on the moon. Better to watch the mortals and all. We'll have to move when they figure out how to get here."

>[]Awesome!
>[]Does anyone else live here?

"I'm all for it! Me and your mom can show you plenty of cool stuff down there. You won't believe it when you see a dragon... or maybe you will, I dunno."

Soon after, you arrive at the dining room. A few other people are in there already.
"Oh, is this Pierre?" asks a woman who's clearly Dad and Sasha's daughter. The same hair and eyes, the horns, the full... personality.
She kneels next to you, even though you aren't that small.
"Hey! I'm your big sis, Aisha. Let's be friends!"

>[]...sure.
>[]But we're already siblings, being friends would confuse the issue.

"...that's true! Aren't you a smarty pants?"
Aisha giggles and tousles your hair. A large, tough-looking guy with scales on his forearms approaches.
"I see you met my wife. I'm Kasai, Aisha's husband. She was *really* excited to meet you."

>[]You're kinda scary.

Eh.

"Likewise."
Three more people approach you, two adults men and a teenage girl.
"Pierre, these are my brothers Rorogan and Castiel!"
"Hello..." says Rorogan. Interestingly, his hair is purple.
"Greetings, the one called 'Pierre'." Says Castiel. You feel a strange kinship with him.

"...whatever."
You take a seat at the dining table. A few more people show up before the food is served, including Krystal, who is accompanied by a purple lady. Weird.
"Aaaaaaand... ta-da! Balsamic pork!" says Sasha, removing the dish's cover.
You raise an eyebrow at the dish set on the table. A veritable mountain of meat slathered in something dark and oily.
"Dig in!"
You're served a portion.
"Mmm, this is good!" says Mom, swallowing some.
Well, if she can do it...
You take a bite, chew, and swallow.
It's... actually really good.

The purple lady next to Krystal sighs.
"Dear, this is getting a bit much, don't you think?"
"I'm still pissed about when he put toothpaste in my boots."

You turn back to your meal.
"I haven't seen you in a while, Roro! How're things going?" asks Aisha.
Your brother (weird to think of a thirty-something mage as your brother) sighs.
"I've been researching methods to repair the astral lattices. Bluefield is still suffering from that attack, and I mean to prevent any... *things* from slipping into our realm."
"More boring astral this and anomaly that. I remember why I never ask you this kinda stuff anymore."

>>
>>3303366
"What's an astral lattice?"
Rorogan turns to you in surprise.
"Well... it seems I might get some intelligent conversation around here. I wish I had a model here, but..."
He clears his throat.
"The astral lattices are a sort of framework on a subatomic level that... distributes magic, I suppose. They're intrinsically tied to reality, and can affect it directly. I helped create a weapon that would sort of 'pull' on them. Anything caught within... well, it wasn't pretty. As an unfortunate side effect, it weakens the fabric of reality, which could allow hostile forces from other worlds to cross over. Imagine threading a needle through clothing, then pulling the hole apart."
(1/2)
>>
>>3303383
"As for whether or not an android can cast magic... not in your current state. I may, however, be able to create something that will allow you to use magic gathered from the environment. If nothing else, we could integrate some artifacts into your form."

"What else can you tell me?"
"Well... magic has several categories of use, see. Summoning, elemental effects, enchantment, warding, runes. Aunt Krystal there managed to create near-silent rifle rounds with runes. The forms themselves contain magic, so they can be used by anyone."

"Certainly. It might wear out your components faster, I'm not as skilled with engineering as my brother. Some of them can be activated from physical contact, and even electric current. So, for instance, you could put a rune on your hand that would fire a jet of flame and activate it at will. That would damage your skin, though, so maybe a gauntlet..?"

>[]Finish dinner and experiment with our existence
So, we were born today. Even if we skipped over the infant stage of mental growth, we're still (sort of) an infant. Rather than immediately looking to things like board games for entertainment, I think we'd be more interested in experimenting with what our body is capable of. Test out our mind; can we connect to the internet, or do other AI tropes? Test out our body; how fast can we run, do our joints function like a human's, or are they more variable? What's our strength level? Do we feel pain?
Babies are extremely inquisitive, and I think that's an aspect of infancy that would remain even if you preloaded an android with some degree of maturity.

I should put more Detroit references in, yes.

You experiment with connecting to any external networks after dinner. There's one, with a space set aside for your experiments and a lot of educational material. Mom has her own section with diagnostics and a few stored memories. Dad's is accessible, but most of the files are heavily encrypted, and you're fairly certain there's some sort of black ICE on some of the more deeply hidden ones. He's either working on some serious shit, or *really* doesn't want his memes stolen.
You look around. There's not much space in the living room to experiment, and it'd probably be rude to do so while people are talking.

>[]Do it anyway, fuck the fleshies.
>[]Stand there awkwardly because you're bad at communication.
>[]Ask Dad if there's a training yard or somewhere you can experiment.

"Oh, right. Yeah, there is. Just stay away from the dueling ring, me and Krystal are gonna be fighting."
You thank him and leave.

What do you experiment with first?

First range of motion. Then, having determined what we can do, find out how much power we can put into it; test strength. Finally, see how we put it all together in terms of speed.

You go to the training yard, which has an obstacle course, weights, a track, and a gladiatorial pit, where Dad and Krystal are gearing up for their duel. You're not sure if machine pistols versus a sword is fair, but it's not your problem.
Your range of motion is pretty good. The various motors and joints in your body are only limited by the synth-skin, though you don't go as far as tearing it. That'd probably hurt.
Power is pretty limited in your extremities, like your fingers and toes, but the bigger servos in your arms and legs can easily send a punching bag flying off of it's chain. Oops. Maybe you should stick to the reinforced ones.
As for strength, you can lift about 500 pounds with some effort, though who knows what your true capacity is.
As you're getting ready to test your speed, you see Mom sitting on a nearby bench.
"Hi, sweetie. I'm here to watch the fight. Wanna show me how fast you can run?"

>[]Sure, Mom!
>[]Silently start the test.

>>
>>3318859
>>3318912
You smile, warm up your servos, and take off. Four laps around the track should be good...

...

You stop. The timer reads 3:26. You could probably go even faster if you didn't have to take the turns.
"Ooh, that's pretty good!" says Mom. "Better than Krystal's time, but she has limits. And it's better not to talk about your Auntie Sasha's time."
An explosion rings out from the gladiatorial arena, along with a defiant cry of 'PREDICTABLE!', along with some rather worrying profanity.
"Oh, those two." Mom sighs.

>[]Can we get closer?
>[]Deploy scouter.
>[]Something else.
>>
>>3318976
>[]Something else.
Observe the fight, try to learn their moves. If this is what deploy scouter was supposed to do, please excuse my ignorance.
>>
Pretty much, yeah, but it's okay.
>>3318986
You zoom in and take a look at the fight. Krystal's taken some damage, but she's *unloading* on Dad, keeping him back with a storm of shrapnel and bullets. He's dodging most of them while the rest shatter against his skin.
"PREDICTABLE!" he shouts again, hurling a sword at Krystal. She does a one-handed cartwheel to get out of the way before lobbing a grenade in his direction.
"You can't defeat me!"
"I can damn well try! If I get one of your eyes I bet you'd call a timeout!"
Their speed... Krystal was a monster in her own right, but Dad's got a grace and carelessness that's supernatural. He's almost lazily tossing swords around and hurling lightning.
"He's amazing, isn't he..." says Mom, dreamily. "There's just some things androids can't do... our components would overheat or shatter. But he doesn't have to worry about that sort of thing."

>[]Has Krystal ever won?
>[]Shouldn't he be breaking apart, too? He's made of flesh and blood...
>[]Well, I hope we never fight.
>>
>>3319065
>[] ...I'm sure we can overcome those limitations eventually, Mother. Improvement is the great virtue of machines, isn't it?
>>
>>3319115
"One of them, yes. Who knows? We might be able to overcome those limitations. Maybe one day, we'll be able to have children like..."
She pauses.
"Oh, nevermind. I'm just glad you're here now."

>[]Keep watching the fight.
>[]Give mom a headpat.
>[]Something else.
>>
>>3319202
>[]Keep watching the fight.
She doesn't really think of us as her child because she didn't give birth, huh. That'll be an interesting talk with a therapist at some point.
>>
It's more like she's adopted you than anything, she could overcome this in time.
>>3319414
You keep watching the fight. Krystal's run out of bullets, and is now using a sword and shield. It's just barely enough to keep Dad at bay.
After a few moments, he kicks her into a wall, leaving her slumped over.
"My win again. You're getting rusty."
"You wish, bastard."
Krystal pulls a detonator from her pocket and flips the button cover off.
"Oh, is that for this?"
Dad pulls a block of C4 out of his pocket, the detonator removed.
"Very clever, but it's getting PRRRREDICTABLE!"
"[Killer Queen]."
Krystal clicks the detonator, and Dad disappears in a fireball. It dissipates, leaving him unharmed.
"...that wasn't fair."
"No such thing as a fair fight."
"I want a rematch."
"Fuck you, I won."
They leap at each other and start rolling around in the sand. You half-expect a cloud of dust to obscure them.
"OW, LEGGO!"
"STOP PULLING MY HAIR, BASTARD!"
"THAT'S MY EYEEEEE!"
Mom sighs.
"Oh dear... I might have to go pull them apart."

>[]Is it always like this?
>[]How'd she win? Dad was fine.
>[]This is very immature. And I was born three hours ago.

>>3321357
"He's only a century or two old. The old god of storms acted up and needed a replacement. At least he gets along well with most of his siblings."
The scuffle ends, and the two combatants climb out of the pit. Both their wounds quickly close and seal themselves.
"Agh... I think my shoulder's locked up. I'll have Tsuyoi rub it when I get home." says Krystal. "Oh, hey kid. Hey, Pris."

>[]Hello. Good fight.

"Really? I've had better. Like the time I kept predicting all his lines, that was great. You see, the key is--"
"Krystal, please. Don't corrupt my child with your 'there's no such thing as a fair fight' speech."
"I was just giving him some good advice."
The woman shrugs.
"See you."
Pris sighs as she walks away.
"Oh, Krystal. So, um. Pierre. Did you want to read a book or something..?"

>[]I'd love to, Mom.

"Oh, hi. Did you need something?"

>I have to say, Krystal, I found watching your fight with Father inspiring. I'd like to hear more of that "good advice" you were trying to tell me. In particular, how did you manage to predict his lines during a fight? It seemed like he was the one calling you predictable.
>>
>>3323539
"Well, it depends on his... humors, or whatever makes him how he is. I could've just said 'your next line will be 'PREDICTABLE'' and I would've been right. Not to mention he said that about a split second before I broke his nose with my sword hilt."
You did recall hearing her break out into laughter...
"If you really want advice, I'll give it to you. Act like you're gonna attack me."

>[]Do so.
>[]Try to be cunning about it.
>[]Um... I think I'm good.

We haven't been alive long enough to be cunning. That's what we're trying to learn from Krystal.
>>
>>3323620
You make to kick her in the kneecap. She mimes cocking a shotgun and blowing you away.
"Bang."
You blink.
"The best thing to do, Pierre, is end a fight before it begins. Easier for everyone involved. If you must fight, don't hesitate to be a complete scumbag. If you're on a cliffside, feel free to shove your opponent off. If there's sand on the ground, throw it in their eyes. Hell, I have a pouch of sand with me at all times."
She pats said pouch affectionately.
"And if an enemy is too strong, use the ultimate technique and run for it. You won't get anywhere fighting it and losing. Not the most honorable fighting style, but it kept me alive for nigh on thirty years of fighting."

>[]...that's really it?
>[]You are so wise.

"Then you either blow yourself and the enemy up with everything you have, or desperately hope someone will come and save you. If neither of those is an option, kill yourself to prevent them from learning anything."
