Oryola says to you as you go down the street. “Be careful, solnyshka. Do not be letting the thought of getting the kill blind you.”

“What do you mean?” you ask. “This’ll be payback for you and for all the other teams they’ve stomped over because of their ways!”

“This is honored combat, solnyshka, not a drive for vengeance,” Oryola says firmly. You hesitate, holding the radio to your ear as Oryola speaks to you. “Mei may have her reasons, same as you do. But what matters most is that we finish this match and that we finish it proudly. This is my final match ever in Tankery. And if it is my last, I do not intend to go quietly nor go out screaming. I will go out like a lady.”

You sigh. “Understood,” you say. Oryola’s right. Don’t let the idea that Mei might be coming around blind you. Just-

“Ingrid, can you figure out where she’s going?”

“She’s going eastbound…” Ingrid checks her map, thinking on it. “Go down to the next right and stop up. She’ll likely be going south.” Fair play. You take your tanks further down the street past the intersection, then take a right at the next intersection. You find another intersection ahead. There, Oryola stops up, while you cross over then quickly turn around and ready yourself. If Mei is coming down this end, she’ll find herself assailed by two tanks at once. Denise and Maria pull around and go behind you. If Mei wants to flank, she’ll have to go through them.

You hear more cannon fire popping out in the distance. “We’ve run into T-54s!” Orange Pekoe reports.

“They got us!” Kathy shouts.

“They’re catching their second wind, they’re rallying!” shouts Serafina. “We need to strike hard!”

“Agreed,” says Orange Pekoe. “This is for Rosehip, Darjeeling, Assam, and all Saint Gloriana! Follow me into the breach!”

As you wait for Mei, your hands tremble. Come on, come on, where is she? You hear a loud booming, crumbling of walls next to you. Wait. Uh oh. “Evade!” you shout. Josephina pulls the tank forward.

Mei comes crashing out of the walls behind you, her turret spun around behind her. She slides, facing your direction and turning the guns on the Tetrarchs. Oryola fires, but the shot misses and explodes into a building. “Look out!” yells Maria. She pulls her Tetrarch in front of Denise. The shot fires, slamming into her Tetrarch and popping the engine block, setting it aflame and sending her spinning into a shop.

Josephina takes the tank around and starts moving where Mei just was. Denise follows after you, with Oryola coming behind you. You have to handicap your speed a little to let Oryola follow. Damn it, come on! You manage to catch Mei as she goes around a corner. Shit. “There she is! Go!” you yell. Josephina takes the tank around the corner. Wait. “Winona, traverse right, 90 degrees.”

Once you cross the corner, your turret is already lined up and ready. Mei too was lined up. The two of you fire. Your shells scratch each others turrets, sending you both spinning around from the impact. Shit! You hold on, looking at her. Mei again pops a smoke bomb before escaping. Fuck! You slam your fist on the turret. “Come on, after her!”

You pop through the smoke once more and find her again. Goddamn it!

Denise rolls up next to you. “We should split up, try and draw her out!”

Oryola says, “Stay calm, littlest solnyshka. If we split up, she can easily pick us apart.” She looks at you. “Solnyshka. Perhaps I can set an ambush. You and Denise try and drive her into my killzone, da?”

Then Mei reveals herself by driving out of an alley in front of you. “Evade!” Josephina drives the tank straight into a building, stopping you clean. Mei fires, missing Denise. She quickly pulls away, popping more smoke out of the exhaust of her engine. “She’s getting away, after her!” You get moving, hurrying yourself to pursue her. “Fire!”

The shot shoots over top, scraping against the top of her turret. Dead miss. Shit! Ingrid fires the hull MG, spraying it to her left side. She goes right. “Nice one, Ingrid!” says Winona. You slide around to the right and keep following Mei. She’s looping back around to the road! Mei continues on, then starts a slide, a very long slide that exposes her side to you. She pops smoke behind her, blinding you both. Wait…

That’s your slide! By God!

She fires. You hear another shot which whizzes past.

Oryola’s burned out ISU-152 was smoking from the end of the street where she tried to ambush Mei. Mei had beaten Oryola at her own game. The bitch! Mei speeds off in Oryola’s direction south, trying to get away from you. She thinks she can get away, she’s got another thing coming!

“I have no idea where Mei is going!” Ingrid says to you. “I mean, Griselda’s location hasn’t been compromised.”

“What about the others?” you ask.

Duchess says, “We’re holding off T-54s trying to come towards Griselda!”

Griselda says, “If you can take the shot, take it! But we’re going to lose the attrition fight, Elodie!”

“I know!” you say. “Listen, Griselda, you have-“

“No,” Griselda says. “I’ve been running in this match for way too long! It’s time for me to join in too!”

“Don’t be stupid, Griselda!” says Benny. “We can’t risk you dying! You’re in a Sherman and these girls are in T-54s!”

Serafina says, “You’ll be eliminated!”

“Try and track her, Ingrid, please.” You take a look at the map. Now, Mei ought to have gone south. This is a question of predicting her movements really. She’ll go south, try and maybe come in from behind her tanks and support them or maybe catch Griselda unawares. She’s in a good position here. She probably knows this city inside and out, this is her country after all. Just another advantage for her.

A T-54 bursts out of a nearby office park, aiming its gun directly at you. “Evade!” Oliver swings hard left, dodging the shot by inches. You fire back, the shot dinging off the top of the turret. The T-54 spins around on a dime, facing its front to you. It’s down to near point blank range it seems!

“They’re diverting west!” says Duchess. “The T-54s we were engaging just went west, I think they’re coming after you, Elodie!”

No shit. Another T-54 comes up the street behind the first T-54, aiming its gun barrel down at you.

This. We need to break contact. We should be able to outrun them, they technically have a higher speed, but in the close quarters of the city we should be able to make more effective speed due to familiarity with our tank.

We need to figure out a way to wrap this up quickly, while we still have the CP for a probable final confrontation with Mei.
Any possibility of a current standing line-up and maybe even a map?

This is a good opportunity to a)reduce their overall numbers and b)buy our teammates valuable breathing room. Well still have enough CP remaining for any expensive maneuver/intuition against Mei.

This is most likely Mei’s attempt to draw you out. If Griselda is directly threatened, you have to respond, no question about it. Whatever happens, you can’t just leave Griselda up in the air like that. You have to help her.

“Take us to Griselda,” you say.

Josephina starts the tank forward to Duchess’ last known position. You hear more cannon fire as the remaining team members face off against Mei’s own team.

You arrive at Duchess’ location to find Duchess backing Griselda up against a building. “What the hell are you doing, Duchess!? Get off of me!” yells Griselda.

“I’m making sure no one gets a cheap shot against you!” Duchess yells back.

“Hey, we’re here!” you say. “Where are-“ A T-54 shot flies past. You look behind yourself south and see a T-54 closing in from behind. Another T-54 closes in from the front as well at the north. Duchess fires at the northern most one. The shot misses. The other T-54 fires. The shot scrapes against the front of the Jagdpanther, exploding in a midst of fire and smoke.

“Agh! We’re hit, something’s burning!” says Duchess. Her engine starts smoking furiously.

Shit. What else could happen now?

Then Mei shows up from the south, coming up from behind the T-54.

Oh. Oh no.

Unfortunately that is it for this weekend. And unfortunately LGA2 is going to have to take -another- break because I'm going overseas on vacation for two weekends. So you won't see LGA2 until March, when we finally complete this chapter and the Quest. Please don't wait up for me, we're close to the end! Have some goddamn faith!
