There's trouble brewing, and only those who are tasked with curating the Dreamscape may save the night. Who will cull the nightmares who disturb the peaceful slumber? The veil embraces any who wish to try their hand, but it is the Abyss that will judge worth. Step forth, Dream Catcher, and prove yourself.

Dream Catchers is a collaborative skirmish game where players take control of their own personal character. Mend and defend the weary hearts and minds of those in slumber, and fight until dawn. Be it nightmares or anxieties which ails them, find the source of trouble and exorcise it before the dreamer awakens. Successful exorcisms results in healing the dreamscape, and by proxy improves the player characters themselves.

Here's how you make a character and a quick summary of how the game is played. While movement and facing are cardinal (no diagonals) attacks and spellcasting in general will allow for diagonals to be used. Standard Melee range is also defined as all eight adjacent tiles surrounding the character, and facing is the three tiles in front of them.

Remember that you are not required to >Struggle, and may use your actions at half effect or potency, except with move actions which are reduced to 1 Mov or 1/2 Mov (whichever is greater).

It is worth noting that if a skill that deals damage as an AoE it will hit all things which occupy its tiles. Only time this is not the case is if it is with a flying target and there is another available target below. Whichever target the ability is aimed at will determine if the AoE hits all flying or non-flying available targets in it's area of effect.

The party takes once more to the staircase, descending further with Minerva and Ser Fuzzylad guiding the way. Using the keycard gifted to her, she takes to a panel at the stair foot in order to grant the party access. A few attempts are made before she has to punch a triple guard security procedure in order for the doors to slide open. Aside from the lights adjacent to the doorway, the area is quite dark. "Oh no... if the power is out to the rest of the floor then we all might be in grave danger. There was an artifact which was stored on this level, and all of the labs were dedicated to discerning its properties. However, merely touching it would cause a runner or denizen to lose all sense of self and begin harming others in the vicinity. I remember spending a shift observing it and the power flickered for a brief moment, and when the lights came back on I could have sworn something had slid back into the artifact. Whatever you do, keep to the light as much you can," warns the technician as she readies the Raeburn in hand, peering through the open doorway before nodding in affirmation to the party behind her.

Cramped corridors leads to shoulders and knees striking one another as the party files through the hall. The two holding light sources in hand, Soma and Murph, seem to radiate an aura that keeps the darkness at bay. Further in the runners spy an emergency light, and then past the hall lies another giving a soft, ominous glow in the dim.

Further exploration is made, but an aggressive opening is cut down instantly. The first volley's mark is cut in two, with the second shot sliced straight out of the barrel before the gunman finds themselves lying on the floor in a heap. A runner takes a leap into the fray, misjudging their position and crashing into furniture, drawing the attention of the denizen. Minerva calls out in a controlled tone to suggest the party's behavior while yet another runner seems to have put eyes onto the artifact spoken of earlier.

Oh, TH is shorthand for threshold. Pretty much the potency of the ability (or spell in this case) is hard limited to that number, and exceeding it will produce an additional effect instead. Bolt will chain cast, and Beam will convert from a skillshot into a proper AoE (being it isn't stopped by occupied tiles at that point)
