See I like the enthusiasm and all but it feels like both genjutsu and water release have been done like crazy. Anons either go full keikaku genjutsu or full passion taijutsu specialist from the start. I'm actually usually fine with that, but I'd rather try a straight ninjutsu specialist for once. Especially since being jounin from the start means we'd get access to what is basically crazy tier magic early like giant elemental animals conatructs and controlling the very weather.

Nah Kon was way more into that stuff. Early Takeshi relied more on poisons, throwing weapons, and genjutsu. Kon was all about wires and explosives.

im not so sure about swords, I personally don't like kenjutsu that much and swords never made all that much sense in naruto, so there won't be a kenjustu focus. this obviously doesn't mean you can't use a sword at all

regarding genjutsu, sharingan aren't as powerful as in canon but would still fuck you over massively. this doesn't necessarily mean you can't be effective as a genjutsu expert as most enemies don't have sharingan anyway

Immediately after finishing your sentence, you jump out of the window and head up to the roof. You need way less time time than your Genin, but at least they manage to stay under the time limit.

You're not surprised by most of this, though you're not sure how realistic his dream is. His teammate seams to share your doubt, as he just laughs after hearing the dream.

At least none of these kids are scared of dreaming big, though you're unsure about her fighting style. You never heard about summoned weapons, so you look forward to see how effective it is.
There is a little bit of silence afterwards, but the last one finally speaks.

The thing is that all of them have to hit it. No fancy Ninjutsu, no bloodline bullshit. Just work together and find a way to break it using what they know.

Trying to think of the kind of lesson a guy whose fighting style is best described as 'borderline suicidal' would want to teach. The importance of not holding back while simultaneously knowing your limits? The value of working together and keeping each other alive? Maybe something like

The real test will come from the phrasing of the challenge we're giving them, we just say that for one to pass and be accepted as a Genin, their tanto must be broken in x hours (or before nightfall if we wanna go all anime and shitz) but never actually specify that they have to do it on their own.
Hopefully, after struggling on their own for long enough, they'll understand the value of teamwork as they wouldn't be able to succeed the test on their own.

Unfortunately for them, they aren't all that good it, letting you evade the weapons easily.

You calmly walk back into the middle of the Training Ground while your Genin are slowly getting back up. Kiba especially looks like hes loosing his cool, heading straight back into melee. You're already preparing to give him a good left right combo when you hear Sasuke shout.

"Stop it Kiba ! We need to work together, there is no way you can land a hit by yourself."

To your surprise, the kid actually listens and stops his charge. Surprising, maybe he actually isn't as dumb as he looks dumb.

You laze around while the three of them stick their heads together and apparently talk strategy.

You're about to start attacking them as they talk for quite a while, when Tenten takes a gigantic scroll out. You begin to wonder just what they have planned when she starts throwing an astonishing amount of weapons at you. Looks like this is the cover for the boys to get into position.
While you're busy evading the weapons, you realize that the boys flank you and throw shuriken from both sides. You predicted this style of attack and simply shunshin away, when you suddenly hear Sasuke shout "Great Fireball" and you're forced to use a quick Mud Wall to protect yourself. How the hell does somebody fresh from the Academy even know a Jutsu that powerful ? Maybe he really is as talented as Itachi.

"Well done Sasuke, that counts as a hit, you guys nicely executed your strategy. Don't expect this to work again though!", you shout before returning to the arena.

"Thank you Sensei" he replies before returning to his shuriken attacks. Just how many of these damn things does he carry, you ask yourself, when he and Kiba suddenly change strategy and quickly close the distance to melee. You didn't expect Sasuke to also be this good at close quarters combat, damned Uchiha and their insane talent.
Together they manage to threaten you to the point of you having to actually use a mud clone to help defend yourself.

After you summon the mud clown, you manage to gain a little ground in the melee brawl before your clone is hit with a number of giant shuriken by Tenten, destroying him. Sasuke uses the chance to try and grab your arm, though you manage to use your superior reach to give him a good uppercut, sending him flying.

Just in that moment, you realize he baited you into attacking him, as you see Kiba and what you assume to be Akamaru under a Beast Human clone Jutsu rush into you, one ducking low for a takedown and the other going for a good kick to your head.
Choosing to prevent the takedown, you take the kick and shunshin away afterwards.

"Very nice teamwork guys, I just hope you aren't running out of ideas here."

Looks like this is finishing soon, as both Kiba and Sasuke seem to be tiring out pretty fast.

I'd argue it could actually be quite interesting to see them lose.

As soon as Sasuke is back in position, they start their ranged assault again. You'Re quite frankly getting tired of this, so you quickly use a Wind Blast Jutsu to knock Tenten down, freeing you from the constant pressure of her summoned weapons.
This give you a decent amount of breathing room, which you use to throw some shuriken yourself. Taken by surprise, Kiba and Akamaru both get hit by kunai, allowing you to focus solely on Sasuke.

As you know he's the strongest of them, you go for a little trick. After summoning a Mud Clone, you shunshin away into the nearby forest. After positioning yourself behind a tree to escape Sasukes vision, you use an Earth Jutsu to hide underground.

You easily manage to move behind Sasuke underground, as he didn't expect an attack from that direction, easily catching him while he's still busy watching the tree line.

"Getting a little sloppy, are we? Looks like you have one chance left to get that last hit on me or back to the Academy it is!"

At least they aren't easy to demoralize, as you can see all of them getting up, even if Kiba and Sasuke look a little worse then at the start of the fight.

The three of them share some glances before they start to slowly approach you. You certainly aren't the best in Taijutsu, but you're not gonna make it that easy. This time you actually summon two Mud Clones to even out the numbers.

The kids don't seem to be shaken by this, as they continue their controlled advance. Just before you are about to engage Sasuke, he quickly does some hand signs and shouts "Great Fireball !" Not wanting any part of this, you switch places with one of your mud clones.

"Fuck it!" you think to yourself as you realise you played right into their hands, as bot Kiba and Tenten rush into you. While you manage to defend yourself and even take out Kiba with a high front kick, Tenten eventually manages to hit you with her Nunchaku.
You shunshin away at your actual Jonin speed, leaving them unable to get any more hits in.

"Well done guys, you actually managed to win. While a decisive and clear victory looks different, you actually manage to work together decently as a team. There is still a lot of work to do, but you at least seem competent enough for me to bother training you."

"Thank you, Sensei" Tenten says, "are we Genin now ?"

"Yes, yes, clearly no need to send you back to the academy. We're finished for today, so enjoy the rest of your day. We meet tommorow morning at 7 o'clock at this training ground. Don't be late or you're gonna regret it."

"7 o'clock ? You can't be serious Sensei!"

"Feel free to find out if I'm serious, Kiba" you say while walking towards the Hokage office, leaving your Genin to their own devices.

When you arrive at the Hokage office, you find it quite packed already. Guy is already here, doing some exercises in one corner of the office. Next to the desk, you see Asuma and Kurenai doing some idle chatting.

The Hokage is the first to greet you "With Hitogiri here, we can begin. No point in waiting for Kakashi." You agree silently, as you experienced Kakashis legendary tardiness before.

"Team 7 ?", the Hokage asks.

"Passed", answers Asuma bluntly.

"Team 8 ?"

"My most youthful students easily passed !", exclaims Guy to nobodies surprise.

"Team 9 ?"

"Passed", you simply state.

"Team 10?", the Hokage asks, clearly not expecting an answer.

"Passed", you suddenly hear Kakashi say as he move in through the window. All heads suddenly turn to Kakashi, nobody expecting him to show up on time nor passing his team.

"But you never passed a team before, right Kakashi ?" Kurenai asks, "these kids must be awesome."

"No, they're passable, so I let them pass", Kakashi replies while pulling out some smut, his way of saying the conversation is over.

"Team 12 ?", the Hokage continues after a lengthy pause.

"Failed, absolutely failed ", replies Kurenai dejectedly.

Arriving at Ground 9 a little early, you are positively surprised by Sasuke already beeing busy warming up. Looks like he wasn't lying when he said he loved training.

"A little zealous, aren't we ? I suppose this is to be expected from the best student this generation", you say before starting your own warm up routine.

"Good morning, Sensei. My brother was already Anbu at this age, I don't have time to be lazy. It's bad enough I'm being held down by my teammates."

"Thinking like this will lead you down a bad path, kid. Even the Hokage is nothing without those that support him. Being the best doesn't mean shit if you're alone and surrounded by ten enemies. If you're so good, you should help them improve instead of seeing them as obstacles."

He looks at you dismissively, but doesn't answer. You guess that changing his mind will take some time, but you already have some ideas to get him off his high horse.

You continue your exercises in silence, when Tenten and Kiba finally show up, both of them looking like they just fell out of bed.

"Looking a little rough there", you greet them, "but don't worry, I know exactly the right thing to wake you up."

"Try to keep up, it's only 10 laps", you say before starting to jog slowly around the Training Ground.

They manage to keep up for some time, but after 10 minutes you already lapped Sasuke and Tenten. You make a mental note to keep the endurance training up, as they clearly need it.
You finish your laps, but ultimately cut the exercise short as neither Tenten nor Sasuke seem to be able to continue.

You call them together, adressing them while they're busy gasping for air.

"I'm certainly not impressed by your stamina levels. Therefore, we will be running laps every day from now on, with some added difficulty for those who are already in a decent physical shape", you say, looking at Kiba.

"I obviously also need to fix your other problems. Starting with you Sasuke, your head is clearly too far up your own ass" you say, earning a laugh from Kiba. "Improving your stamina and chakra reserves will be a priority as well as improving your chakra control which could use some work."
Sasuke just stares at you angrily, but he doesn't respond. Seems like Kiba is enjoying Sasuke getting taken down a notch, but you don't plan on going easy on him either.

"I don't think you're in any position to laugh, Kiba. While your in decent physical shape, it seems this comes at the expense of you using your brain. You're also a hothead and easy to provoke, so we'll need to work on your decision making in combat. You also could use some more long-range Jutsu."
Well this day is just going great, it's not even 9 o'clock and you already have two kids mad at you.

"Lastly, Tenten, you obviously need to work on your stamina and chakra pool. We also need to make you more threatening in actual combat, your thrown weapons aren't all that hard to evade, block or deflect. You also can't rely on one technique alone anyway, so we need to work on diversifying your techniques."

"For the foreseeable future, we will focus on ..."

"You'll do 100, kid, and no fucking complaining. Now get started or I'll increase the amount !" You join them, but almost immediately you're forced to intervene.

"Inuzuka, is that supposed to be a push-up or a joke ? Take a look at what Sasuke and I are doing and try to copy it!"
He mumbles something under his breath, but doesn't complain any further. You hope it's a sign of him learning to accept his fate.

It takes quite a while, but eventually all three manage to finish their push-ups. What they didn't expect is you starting another jog.
Tenten speaks up: "Sensei, is this a joke ? I can barely move!"

"If you don't push yourself you will never improve! You said you wanted to become the strongest Kunoichi, do you think that just comes by itself? There are kids out there, half your age with more talent that also work harder than you. How do you think you're ever going to be better than them?"

Leaving a dramatic pause, you continue: "It's simple ! You just work harder than them. Just look at me ! I am an orphan without any special bloodline, eye technique or any other special bullshit and I'm still one of Konohas strongest Ninja, simply by working as hard as I can. And if I can manage it, so can you !"

This leaves them speechless for a while, but Kiba then asks "But Sensei, what do we do if somebody with more talent works as hard as I do ?"

"Then you wake up from your little dream world and realize that the world isn't fair. Just because there is someone out there stronger than you doesn't mean that becoming stronger yourself is useless. You can either accept reality or keep dreaming, but don't you complain when somebody wakes you up violently."
"Now get to running or I'll have you do another 100 push-ups."

You expected complaining, but it looks like they're to tired to even bother. You simply grab them and head to the Academies mission desk, where you are greeted by Iruka and the Hokage.

"You can't be seriously thinking about going on a mission, Hitogiri. The kids are completely exhausted!", Iruka accuses you.

"Yes, perfect for a D-Rank mission then. What do you have for us, Hokage-sama?", not bothering to discuss this any further with Iruka. He's a decent guy, but a little to soft on the students.

"Are you sure about this, Hitogiri?", the Hokage asks, putting Iruka a little at ease.

"Of course, I know they are able to complete one."

"Well then, I have a variety of available missions right now.", he says, pointing to the mission board.

"This mission is going to be simple. You will track and capture the cat specified in this picture", you say showing them the picture of an ugly orange cat.

"Don't be fooled though, you will need to work together to be able to capture the cat. So let's get it going.", you try to encourage them.

"Kiba, you should be able to track the cat easily, right?", Sasuke asks.

"No problem", he says, already studing the ground for any tracks.

You watch Kiba crawl around the ground a little bit, before he finally says "I found something!", and starts walking deeper into the forest.

Following him with your other Genin, you begin walking at a somewhat slow pace through the forest, guess they really must be pretty tired. Your Team is pretty lucky anyway, considering they have the Genin most suitabel for tracking with Kiba.
Still, you have to actually correct them at some points, not interested in walking aimlessly through the forest. After about two hours, you finally manage to catch a glimpse of the cat. Good.

"Looks like we found the target. Try to come up with a strategy to capture it."

"It's just a cat, Sensei. It can't possibly be that hard", replies Tenten tiredly.

"Feel free to try it by yourself, but you'Re gonna be chasing the car through the whole forest if you do that."

"Our best bet is probably to surround it and just engage it from multiple directions, so let's try that", Kiba adds.

"Sounds fine ", replies Sasuke as he begins walking into the tree line.

After getting into position, they slowly start approaching the cat. After getting in close enough, Kiba whistles as a signal. They all jump onto the cat and after a short struggle Kiba manages to get a good grip on the cat.

"Well done, you managed to capture the dangerous beast. Let's head back."

At this point they are so tired they are barely even standing, so you are forced to carry them and the cat all the way back. Still, they did really well considering it's their first day of training.
After arriving at the mission desk, you hand over the cat and collect the mission payment. Looks like Iruka isn't here to complain either, good.

Heading out of the building, you address them: "Looks like you managed to survive the first day. Let's grab something to eat, my bill."

This seems to energize them a little bit, as they quickly follow you to Ichiraku Ramen. You're not the only person who seemingly had this idea, as Kakshi is already here sitting with his team.

"What happened to your team ? They look like they're about to faint" Kakashi asks you.

"Nothing happened, just a normal day of training", you reply, earning a raised eyebrow from Kakashi. "Anyway, mind if we join you ?"

"Of course not." Weird, Kakashi actually spending time with somebody except Guy. Must have had a great day. Not that you're in a position to point fingers, as you don't do that much except training either.

Sitting down, you take the time to study his team more closely, though you can't notice anything special, except that the ninetails brat apparently has no manners. Would be interesting to know how strong he is in a fight, though he apparently graded pretty badly.

After ordering a large bowl, you turn to Kakashi again. "So, how are your kids. They don't seem all that special to me."

"Aren't you the guy who believes that hard work trumps talent ? But no worries, they are capable to say the least", he says while looking at the Hyuga boy, "though they all have a long way to go."

"That's to be expected, isn't it ? We'd both be out of a job", you say while laughing heartedly while Kakashi takes out on of his smut books. Looks like you bothered him too much.

Luckily you ramen is already finished, so you and your Genin begin to devour in in record time. Your team is kinda silent, probably to tired to have a meaningful conversation, but Naruto eventually looks at you.

"So you're Sasukes Sensei ? Does he still think hes something special or not ?"

"Nah, I think he's learning his lesson", which gets you a smile from Naruto.

You finish your meal and are already starting to leave, when you remember to give them somne encouragment. "Don't worry kids, tomorrow you're going to be stronger. See you !"

We made it through the first day, but i have to stop here for today. I'm going to be running Sunday at 4pm GMT+1, see you then
