>"We can't go back. We need to break through this wall."
With a heavy swing to crash your hammer against the wall, the damage is minimal but from the sound there is definitely empty space on the other side.
Godor: "Wait! Maybe my acid can melt an opening. Stand aside."
You give the conjurer some space and he casts Acid Spray dousing the barrier with magical acid. The process of dissolving isn't as fast as you were hoping for but its better than your hammer.
>"Keep working on the wall, we'll hold off the wizards."
You turn to the stairs up and see a large group of enemies descending. Shawel erects an icewall in their path but it is quickly shattered by the weapons of skeletal warriors. The surviving wizards from earlier are back (and the wizard that didn't survive is with them as a zombie), and they are joined by the diviner and their leader Azahl. Four skeletons with bronze weapons stand in front of them.

Ishan: "You couldn't even kill one of them..."
Thezax: "They are stronger than they look."
Azahl: "hmm is Uphi still alive?"
Drezor casts Animate Dead on Uphi's unconcious body slung over the shoulder of your summoned brute.
Drezor: "She is."
Azahl brandishes a magic rod of ivory and points it at your summoned creature, the rod produces a flash of eldritch light and the Brute spasms.
Azahl: "Bring her to me."
The Brute obediently starts to hurry towards the enemy group, bringing their unconcious ally back to them.

So its Azahl, Thezax, Drezor, and Ishan with 4 skeletons and 1 zombie.

Whats the probability of success if we use the scroll?
>>
>>3194351
You don't know
>>
>>3194353
Do we still have godors smaller minions?
>>
>>3194358
Yes. Two of them. Armed with crushing weapons for skeleton killing.
>>
I'm leaning towards using the scroll and having it toss her to the side away from them right away in case Azahl keeps at it.
At least we're occupying him.

Open to better ideas.
>>
>>3194367
Then yes use the scroll, I think its worth a shot if the wand worked. Other then that have everyone charge while godor melts through the wall, we need azahl to target an attacking ulric or alena who has drank the potion instead of our elementalist and necromancer. Maybe literally try to throw your body infron of them if he starts shooting death rays
>>
>>3194389
Oh yeah. Let's make all of that happen.

You hastily grab the scroll crumpling it slightly and activate it. The Brute fails its will save big time and returns to your control.
>"Throw her to the side!"
The monster obeys tossing Uphi to the floor beside him.
Shawel casts Water Whip: a long rubbery apendage of water extends from her hand and wraps around Uphi flicks her back. She tumbles back into your midst like a rag doll.
Shawel: "You want her? Come take her."

Azahl: "Which one has the magic resistance?"
Thezax points at Godor who is still dissolving a path through the wall.
Thezax: "It's him! With the shield."
Azahl casts Finger of Death on Godor, although it's a high level spell and Godor has high magic resistance Azahl masterfully succeeds the casting.

Cast Resist Magic (II) on Godor. We can do that, right?
>>
>>3194474
Yes but the extra magic resistance might not be enough.
>>
but our potion gives us absolute immunity to the death ray
>>
>>3194504
Oh, yes, Finger of Death should be affected by the potion.
>Throw yourself inbetween Godor and Azahl and get hit by the spell instead (Roll 1d100, need 80 or lower)
I am don't remember exactly how "instant death immunity" works in D&D.
>>
>>3194525
In Seeker Quest it means the instant death effect of Finger of Death fails automatically, it will still do a bit of damage. If you aren't immune to instant death you will die unless you make a constitution based save.

After hearing Thezax point out Godor and seeing Azahl raise his arm to cast you immediately realise what's coming and leap in the way.
No beam occurs, or any show of light. There is no indication the spell is even cast but you feel it. A dark wind blowing through you trying to snuff out the candle of life within you even with your immunity the sensation is harrowing. You take 28 damage.
Azahl: "He survived... Ishan what are their immunities?"
Ishan makes a quick incantation then replies.
Ishan: "The leader, the girl, and the swordsman are all protected from death."
Azahl: "How did you gain this protection?"

I hope everyone else is doing the same. tell Alina to take the hits if he tries it again.
>>

This, also we should concentrate attacks on the leader.
>>
>>3194611

>"You should ask the ones who are standing with you!"
You give Alina a quick instruction to protect the hirelings from Finger of Death then order the attack.
>"Everyone attack!"
Azahl: "Destroy them."

Shawel casts water whip lasooing Thezax as he clumsily tries to evade it and hauling him into melee range.
You crush Thezax with your warhammer.
Brute smashes him with his fists.
Godor's Sentinels smack him with their little hammers.
Ulric hacks and slashes at him.
Thezax is hurt pretty bad. Only thanks to his armour is he able to survive the savage beat down. He retaliates with a Scorching Ray destroying one of Godor's sentinels.
Alina fires a holy arrow at a skeleton destroying it.
Shornas casts Enervation on Azahl. Azahl catches the crackling red bolt of energy in his hand and ripostes energy into Godor.
Godor shouts in shock but continues working on the wall.
Azahl: "Amateur."
Ishan shoots Godor's remaining Sentinel destroying it instantly.
Drezor and the undead charge into melee range.

Godor: "The way is opening!"
A quick glance shows that there's a hole big enough to fit one person at a time.

>write in

>>3194699
Finish Thezax and retreat. Leave behind all summoned minions as distraction. Ice walls to difficult the persecution.
We also should take Uphi with us. Or maybe even kill her if we can't.
If Godor can make more summons, he should.
>>
>>3194699
Shawel is a fucking champ. Kill Thezax and pound on the next guy Shawel pulls. I think we should all focus on Azahl.

>>3194755
I don't think we should retreat. The opening is too small. Hell, we shouldn't even go since they can hold hostages.
>>
>>3194759
If we are not going to retreat we need to close the gap in the wall with an ice wall and make Godor heal with a potion or something. And we should all focus on Azahl, as you say.
>>
>>3194777
I'm good with that.
>>
>>3194699
Who is more in need of healing, us or Godor?

>>3194759
>Kill Thezax and pound on the next guy Shawel pulls. I think we should all focus on Azahl.
This.

>>3194777
>If we are not going to retreat we need to close the gap in the wall with an ice wall
Why?
>>
We should retreat after we finish off Thezax and kill Uphi.

If they chase after us they would be fighting through a funnel. If the big summon is still alive after we can use it to cover our escape. We need to free the prisoners and secure the kids before we can fight / kill the necromancers
>>
If we could push them back, hold them off, and then retreat through the gap, it would be ideal.
But right now they'd just pick off the last few of us.
>>
>>3194798
>Why?
They may be skeletons guarding the prisoners or someone taking care of them, we don't need more enemies right now. The ice walls can be dissolved at will, if we decide to retreat we can still do it.
>>
>>3194755
>>3194759

You send a crushing blow to Thezax staggering him.
Ulric's blade snaps forward and decapitates Thezax. The white lights glowing from his visor fade as his head topples to the floor.
Three skeletons, Drezor and zombie Arhan have reached you and have begun to attack.
Alina downs one skeleton immediately with a holy arrow.
Azahl casts enervation on Godor. He falls down to one knee, dark energy crackling around him.
Godor: "It's been an honour."
Godor dies of negative energy overload.
The opening Godor made is large enough for two people to squeeze through. The prison exit to the hatchery will likely have a wall blocking it as well.

if godor is dead then we probably cant get through, fight on then.

What happened to the summons now that godor is dead?
>>
>>3194847
I mean Ishan.
>>
I thought we were gonna throw a healing potion to Godor but apparently not? Or would it not do anything.
>>
>>3194856
>What happened to the summons now that godor is dead?
Godors summons were already destroyed by the time he died. His summoning skills are a bit rudimentary so his summons dissappear when he dies or goes unconcious. If Salaman died any summons he had would remain in existance for their full duration and continue trying to fulfil their objectives.

>>3194873
His hitpoints were not reduced to zero, he died because his negative energy levels were higher than his level smothering his life force

Order Ishan to attack Azahl.
Word it like he is betraying him.

Drezor is already in melee range.
We can't ignore the enemies upon us.

You activate your Scroll of Charm Person on Ishan, the spell is successful. Ishan lowers his weapon in contemplation.
Shornas casts Animate Dead. Godor rises again, and twists towards the enemy with a dreadful moan.
Drezor casts Ghoul Touch and hits Shawel with a flurry paralysing her. The hideous carrion stench emenates from the spell as well.
You, Ulric, and the Brute start wailing on Drezor who is decently agile but not as evasive as Uphi nor does he have armour like Thezax, he takes several hits and starts running back towards the basement stairs.
Azahl casts Finger of Death on Shornas, Alina dives in the way and takes the hit.
Alina: "Wha- that" shes gasps for air.
Seeing that the charm worked you try to set Azahl against Ishan.
>"Now Ishan, kill Azahl! Like we planned all along!"

>"You have my word."
Ishan twists around and blasts Azahl point blank. Inflicting a serious dismemberment.
Azahl: "Your death will be painful Ishan."
He drinks a potion of greater speed as Drezor reaches them.
Drezor: "Azahl your arm!"
Drezor tosses a healing potion at Azahl, his arm certainly doesn't grow back, but the stump is no longer squirting blood.
Azahl: "Drezor! We're leaving."
They both start sprinting towards the stairs, Azahl being significantly faster thanks to his potion.
Ishan is reloading his weapon.
You look to Shawel to block their path but she's still paralysed.
Azahl and Drezor are about to disappear into the smoke billowing from the morgue.

Magic Missile (I) on Azahl.
"Alina shot Azahl!"
>>
Well if he gets away, we still have a crystal ball to spy on him with.
>>3195032
I'll vote for Ishan, Christof, and Ulric chasing after them while Aina blasts Azahl
>>
>>3195032
Killing Azahl has a risk of releasing some of the undead if there are any left. But you will probably save more lives by guaranteeing his demise.
>"Take out Azahl!"
Alina shoots an arrow into his back he stumbles and tries to regain his footing.
Ulric and the Brute charge after them.

You fail to cast magic missile.
Shornas zaps him with Enervation, he is unable to parry it while his back is turned. The energy strikes him but he's far too strong to be overloaded by a single casting.
Drezor catches up with Azahl.
Azahl: "Drezor... I need healing..."
Drezor: "I don't have any more potions!"
Azahl casts Vampiric Touch on Drezor killing him. He stands strong and just before Ulric can reach him he dashes into the smoke with supernatural speed.

>how long does charm person last?
One hour. But all charm person does is make a person regard you as a trusted friend and ally. Ishan knows what Charm Person does and that he is being effected, but saw this as an opportunity to join the winning side. When the spell wears off he wont become hostile. If you were losing badly the charm wouldn't have affected his behaviour very much, he's the kind of person to kill a "friend" to save his own life.

Anyway I know it's pretty early but since the fight is over I'd like to end it here. Seeker Quest will return in a week. Thanks for playing.
