The worlds a pretty ****** up mess, what with bio engineered mutants running around causing havoc on whatever poor settlement they are near too, cataclysmic eldritch horrors lurking around each and every shadowy corner just waiting for someone to start worshiping them so they can awaken to our veil of reality, and with modern civilization as we know it utterly destroyed it's a pretty bad place.
But theirs always a profit to be made even at the end of the world, what with wondrous technology lying in wait just waiting to be pried off the hands of dead scientists and abandoned laboratories, Lithar shards that are able to defy physics and be able to manipulate the world to your own desire, and more!
You just have to be smart enough to be able to find it, grab it and survive the ensuing skirmish between you and whatever abomination that claimed it's grubby claws on your next prize. Plus the settlements and havens of the world always need someone to go do something for them. So theirs plenty of work to be done trapper you just have to be willing to risk your life and your soul for it.

>Fractured is a collaborative skirmish game where you take upon the role of Trappers, wandering mercenaries who are willing to do any job that requires a manned expedition into the waste. (Your basically S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S)

>One day later....

Druskof: "And we're back! Turns out it was a good idea to buy that beacon it's a shame that I had to lose it to distract the hive king. But it did it's job and it got us a easy path back to the Prepper complex. Now I'll hand you your pay in a minute, I just have to get all this sorted out with the complex's leader. At the very least with the mutagen in hand I can probably persuade a few royals to join us on our expedition and net us a sweet job! Depends on how temperamental they are today, I hear Underfall has been experiencing *another* pack of mutants messing with their shields."
"...By the way what kind of king names their capital Underfall?...Talk about being bad at names."

>Royals have been unlocked! Now you too can play a goat man duelist wielding a power sword!!!
>Explosives kit has also been unlocked! Nice job trapper on scoring that corp tech, it has been exchanged for a set of explosives kits! No grenades though so you'll have to make do.
>Hyenidae has been buffed, please look at the image for details.

=If your new player please read the following=
Starting players please pick one type of mutagen line this determines your bonus stats and mutation line.
>Afterwards please choose between Scrapper or Scavenger for your class, Scrappers are more focused on damage whether it be firing a rifle or hacking at a monster with a sword they are durable and they do their job well that job being killing people. Scavengers are stealth focused Trappers specializing in stealth. Please pick one class and which starting stuff you want for that class.
>Lastly please pick two kit items from the *gear line* section at the bottom left, please include the standard kit as that is available for all trappers to have for free.
>Have any questions? Please feel free to ask.

Wondering what those icons mean and need a char sheet?
Here is a explanation and a sheet!

Ap represents how many 'actions' your char can do when doing stuff. Generally you can move 1 AP per tile, 3 AP for a physical action or attack, 1 ap for a mental thing etc. You can also increase your skill score at a rate of 1:1 for a single action or use of that skill.
-Examples:
-Physical: Attack the guy next to me, 3 ap
-Mental: What is this item I found?
-Movement: Move: 2 north and 1 north east

Reaction: How quick you are at evading things, you can put 3 ap into 'dodging' something that with a successful roll avoids the damage of a successful attack on you entirely.

Will is your willingness to push on and your ability to withstand the horrors of the world. You may spend it at a 1:1 ratio to regain health, buff your skill, temporarily gain AP for that round and more Please keep a record of your maximum as will also determines your mental stability and how good your char is at seeing things that no mortal should not see.

Mental: Is your mental ability at trying things, investigating, knowing and learning things etc. Any non combat action will generally use mental for rolling.

Grit: Your odd stat, this represents how strong your char is, how potent their mutations are and how lucky they are. When attempting to perform a feat of strength you often roll with 8+grit. Examples include grappling someone, lifting up a garage door, and carrying a vault.

>I highly suggest that you look into the google document for more information. Otherwise you can ask me for info in thread!

As Druskof arrange's the unloading of the truck's cargo and 'speaking' (Read: Yelling) with a few important dressed in suits who discuss the price of his cargo with him. You take the time to look around the complex, behind the safety of armed guards and thick steel walls with blast doors you spot civilian life as it is.
People go around the complex trading and chatting with another about their daily lives, trading, working, playing, in the center of the 'market place' you spot a faded playground where children play as a pair of drunken engineers look on while discussing their trials and tribulations. While a pack of mothers ambush a unlucky salesman and haggle down the price of his produce and wares.
Life continues the best it can it seems.

=Fort phase=
>Thanks to what you have hauled you have unlocked the Churgioun option and a few others! And the option of gaining +2 health instead of +1 for this phase!

Please pick a stat to upgrade followed, by the chance to increase one of your present skills by one then choose one option from the following two lists listed on the bottom.

If you have any questions or need clarification on a type of weapon or what you can do with something do not be afraid to ask.

I don't understand the "surviving blows" section of Dead Hard. Could you explain please?
>>
>>3181782
In fractured normally when you are reduced to 0 HP you are considered dead or if your lucky you are wounded.

You can spend will to 'recover hp' to the point where you are back in the positives and it will be seen as your character being lucky enough to survive the hit.

An example:

A scavenger with 1 Dr and 4 health left is tackled by a bandit and is stabbed by a knife that deals 6 damage. Normally that would be enough to kill him but luckily he has 3 will remaining.
In this case he can spend his 3 will to gain 3 hp turning his -2 health into 1 health and turning the once what was a lethal hit into a near fatal one.

With =Dead hard= when you need to spend will to gain HP to survive instead of it being a 1 will for 1 hp basis it is instead a 1 will for 2 hp basis allowing your char to more easily shrug off major hits that would kill them.

That help?

>>3181550
Lithar shards are somewhat hard to use, much less control but after prying around and talking to the more 'shamanic' people in the complex you manage to come across a few options.

1. You can hang onto the shard and have it's effect start influencing you. Not exactly ideal as you remember finding it surrounded by a pool of blood. But you did feel it can help you with inflicting some major carnage if you have a thing that can make people bleed.
2. Speaking with a experienced trapper who sports a odd gauntlet he explains to you about chanellers. A device that was one of the more 'safer' ways to access the powers that a Lithar shard has. He demonstrates by conducting arcs of lightning from one of his gauntlets to the other. He's willing to get you started on the whole channeling business if you help him score a date with that cute royal over their.
3. You could always try to impose your will upon it, you have no idea what will happen though.
>>
>>3181790
Got it. What's the 1:1 on Assassinate? Does it grant 1:1 extra damage per rolled point of damage, or 1:1 extra damage per ap?
>>
>>3181875
Right i forgot to put margin...I should have really worked on it a bit more to be honest.

When i mean 1:1 i mean 1 damage for 1 margin of success.
What is margin? Well it's the difference between what you rolled and your target.

Say you have a knife score of 12, and you rolled a 8. 12 minus 8 equals 4, so 4 is your margin of success.
So if you used assassinate you would be dealing an extra +4 damage that is added onto your knife damage and knives ignore DR!
Assassinate encourages you to spend AP to increase your skill so that you can have the chance for more damage.
>>
>>3181888
Keep in mind you can only do it with weapons that have the [stealthy] tag or if you already 'stealthed'.

Tactics: Order npc's and your companions around! While you can generally tell them to do "throw grenade at the enemy" or "stay here!"
They can't think on your same brainwave and yelling at them on where to exactly throw a pipe bomb takes time. Time that can be spent shooting the enemy.
With some know how on tactics you can more easily communicate complicated maneuvers and be able to haze them easier!

For navigation, that is generally a more of a "Hmm what would be inside this building or what would be the general layout?" also it can be used to try to guess whats ahead.

"Really trapper? All by yourself and that halberd right there? Huh, well you don't see that every day I know a friend who has been looking for something like that follow me."
You manage to do easily, speaking with a few veterans trappers who were the champions for a group of royals. They lead you to a back alley shop where a clerk promises to exchange your tendril for a few modules you can attach to your drone.
>Choose one of the following.
=Smart track system=
A useful add on, this add on always ensures that the drone will follow you without Ap needed to command it. Just clip it on your belt, configure and boom! works like charm
>This ensures your drone is always following you and can be commanded to do without ap needed.

=Halo system=
This is a odd piece of tech, usually used by royals it lengthens the blur protocol on you and starts with your drone already using its protocol on you. Although it comes with a cost, to install this onto your drone it removes its blur protocol on other people as the software overrides its original settings with a priority setting on you alone. The halo appearing over your head is just a plus.
>Increases blur protocol by 1 turn and start each map with it already on you. At the cost of being unable to use blur protocol for other people.
>>
>>3184184
Oh yes range penalties, because while you can score a good shot about 20 or so feet away not so much when they a football field away.
Generally it will be every 4 or so squares you will take a point of penalty for trying to hit someone =v=
Or maybe 3 it honestly depends on the terrain, whats going on and etc.
Just keep that in mind trapper.

"It's a deal now let's get this show on the roa-"

>2 hours later

The two of you are currently plastered onto the ground as a errant bottle is thrown in your direction.
"Well.." The trapper says as he stands up. "That ended pretty much the way I expected it to be. But a deal's a deal and I will show you what I know. Should have a spare glove in my groups place follow me."

Once you do follow him you are eventually brought to a sunken shack filled with drunken and high mercenaries. With a sigh he gingerly walks over the bodies of fallen trappers until he eventually reaches a small satchel filled with various shards stored in containers.
"Where the bloody hell did I put it...Ah here it is, alright just strap it on and if your wondering yes the rivets are supposed to screw onto your flesh. It's supposed to stop the corruption from spreading any further than your hand when you try to cast as generally it corrupts your flesh...Don't worry thanks to modern tech it will stop as soon as you stop casting!"

"...Well cmon put your hand in their, it'll be like installing a CBM but more painful although it's reversible don't worry."

You do so, and apart from some minor pain when you squeeze the handle that hooks the needles into your flesh. The trapper gives a thumbs up as you flex the gauntlets suddenly aware of a sudden void. While you are not able to see it you do 'feel' it as it feels like your moving your arm in a invisible sea. Before you can ask anything the trapper is back into his chest fetching a small shard breaker.
"Right, after that is done pass me the shard so we can break it and install it into your gauntlet...
>>
>>3186956
Eventually a small lab tool is brought out and the shard is eventually shattered, once, twice, thrice until only two small gem's remain, each the size of a quarter. With a wary look the trapper looks over at you as he thumbs open the holster on his pistol while reaching over for a pair of over sized tweezers before going into a play by play.
"Alright, now just sit still and let me place this onto the slot. If everything goes well and the installation was a success you should see a red light appear on your gauntlet if not...Well you'll find out soon so stay still while I put it in place." As he plucks the gem with a set of over sized tweezers and carefully maneuvers it into place with a click. With a sigh of relief he places the tweezers away and swings the installation machine back into position.
"Alright now put your hand back into it and we can rivet the gem into place!. Now don't be shy, I should have some anesthetic here somewhere....Okay here it is, now take this and swallow it as for the belt be sure to bite down hard because trust me it'll be painful. The pills only make you forget the pain *after* the process and keep you from passing out during it. No we don't have time to get more because we are gonna do it right..... now!"

=Channeling rules=
When channeling you use your mental stat, for attempting to manipulate the world through the focus.
By having a channeller installed onto your hand it being imbued with a shard it allows you to manipulate the world to your desire using the corresponding element according to the shard that you have.
Note that each shard has a element corresponding to their place of origin in this case it is Biology and Blood. But keep in mind you can also manipulate aether the very stuff of the ethereal itself the home to the Movran and other supernatural oddities.
Every humanoid also gains a base effect equal to 1/3 of their mental. This can be used in any way you wish, sending a bolt of energy at your target? It will deal 3d3 damage, want to heal yourself it will heal 3 health on a successful cast. Want to boil the blood of your enemies? Etc etc A channallers greatest weapon next to their gauntlet is their imagination as a lack of it only means that your throwing simple bolts of acidic blood or aether at your foes.

Now for various effects on how to do it, here are a few things to set you off.
Generally when you attempting to 'cast' something you use 3 ap to cast. Set a objective of what you wish to accomplish and roll ahead!
You can cast up to a base range of 5, you you can degrade 1 points of accuracy in order to increase it by 1.
You can also increase the AOE of your spell by degrading your accuracy by 3.
Generally when you are sending a bolt of aether or a blood missile, lightning, what have you. You are dealing damage in D3's and not D6's you can upgrade the damage too D6's by degrading your accuracy by 3 or by using 3 AP.
You can increase the effect by either degrading your accuracy by 1 or using 1 AP to boost the effect.
You can upgrade your accuracy on a 1:1 basis.
When you cast an effect on someone generally it lasts for the turn that you cast it and the next. You can lengthen this effect by spending 2 points of accuracy to lengthen it by however you wish when you are casting or spending 2 AP to increase the duration by one turn after it has been cast as you fuel more juice into the spell.

If you have any questions ask away, I will try to answer them as best I can for your new piece of equipment it should read like this.

Junkers gauntlet: 3 AP to cast, [Biology, blood and /Aether].

>Keep in mind that as you go along you may discover new pieces of equipment that can enhance your channeling or debilitate it.

Easy enough to do the first, just slather the drugs onto a weapon and done! Unless you mean to weaponize it then you could always fit the MIA to some poor suckers face and unload a non metered dose into them should stop their hearts within seconds....Should being the key word.

As for the second you manage to look around and find a set of digging claws by a tinkrer. He's willing to let it go if you help him do a few things around the complex. Luckily he promises it to only be physical labor so it should be easy enough....
>5 hours later.
Okay on second thought, wow those boxes were heavy but you managed to acquire them and you only had to use FHHISAT once when you nearly passed out from exhaustion. But on the other hand you got them!
Now how do you put them on...
>Digging claws: At the start of your turn you may use 2 AP to [Submurge] and start digging underground! This passage is wide enough for 1 trapper to pass through or for you to continue moving through it!

Snikkers to himself for a bit until realizing the amount of weight in the 'few' boxes Kuestions must haul. Though as the Hyena finishes he'd exhale a kloud of Moondust.
"That was... some work. FHHISAT iz still both a rush and.. rough. Thank you for the trade however Tinkerman!"
The next several hours are likely spent with Komrade attempting to figure out how to put on and remove the klaws. Even though he had little intention to remove them, if they didn't impede his normal tasks. When the drugged up mutant did get them on proper Kuestions spends the bulk of the rest of the night digging and testing them out.
And endeavor just as kapable to be useful to the kamp as annoying. All the while keeping himself buzzed on some variable of intoxikant available thanks to the M.I.A.

"Hmm... I think I can do something like that although it depends on whether you want a wire sticking out of your head but I have an idea."

Druskof pulls out a small Com device before typing into it and motioning for you to follow. You do and he leads you through the 'alleys' of the complex before you arrive at a small cellar. With three knocks and the snaps of his fingers the device opens revealing an aged man who greets him with a wave before turning towards you.
"Ah, another customer I see? A Liasken yes?" The man asks as he readies a anesthesia machine and pulls in a small gurney from a wall panel.
"Well come lie down, your friend is willing to trade me a few things for your little wish to come true. Now cmon don't be shy though mind the straps and 'lunchbox's'. Face down please, yes they are full if your wondering, so please try not to tip them."

"Now let's get this masked fixed on and get this machine working, don't worry just count back from ten and it will be all over if it helps I will count with you. 10...9...8..."

When you awake you are suddenly outside knocked out on a bench with more than few doodles drawn on your forehead by a few children and your new CBM installed into the back of your head...

Your digging claws won't be using any of your hands as they are a type of glove(?) that lets you manipulate objects while still wearing them.
They use knife damage if your wondering and will be using your knife stat/skill for purposes of attacking.
If you wish you you can rename knives into Klaws if you so desire to.
