Warning: This thread has Promotions as it’s basis is Goblin Slayer. You get offended, your the idiot that came to this thread and expected something other than a Loli Succubus killing Goblins by the Dozens and Goblins not be rapy bastards that deserve extermination. There's a lot of secondary character death too, these guys have bad luck.

Summery: Niph and LeFay went out with a Paladin in order to destroy a nest after the horrendous failure that was the first one. After a series of Nat Ones, the Paladin was killed and they ended up catching an entire house on fire in an attempt to kill Goblins, about killing themselves in the process.

Now on probation by the guild for getting so many Guild Members killed, they have been training in order to better fight the Goblin hordes. About a week into their probation however the two were ambushed by a pair of thugs whose origin is mostly unknown. Though they found a mysterious note that might lead them to their employer.

Other things:

Niph’s Character Sheet:
>https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MPLvt59KJ0LwiArok81dXQehTU6BCrfdS4up9Pv83Ss

LeFay’s Character Sheet:
>https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mMYyB74qHYuSBoAolTbrtmS0E6IB3cvBm7oyoG1j-Go

This will be based on DnD 3.5 as you guys can assume a prestige class later on. Character sheets will be available once I find a programmable 3.5 character sheet. I will likely be stealing skills from “Weapons of Legacy” supplement and other sources. As you all know, we’ve gone Goblin Slayer in this thread. There are elements of Homebrew, so keep that in mind

Rules:
>I have final say in shit.

>We will be rolling with a 1d20 for actions. From this, it will be best of three on non-combat scenarios. In combat, the first three will decided the outcome of the “Rounds”, think of them like attack rolls. Presidency on rolls are Crits, Doubles, highest for best of three.

>Only roll when I go “>Roll!” as some decisions require rolls and others don’t. Like you can go to jail without anything and have no rolls or you can try and sneak in a candybar with a deception check.

>I aim to have updates at a casual rate, maybe once every few hours or less based on activity. Tbh best time is 6, but no ones on then...

>Combat will be written to consist of “3 rounds” based on the tactic chosen. For an example, check out the Karna fight here ( http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/3121840/ ). This is to make meaty updates for you guys. This can lead to fast combat though, so express if you wanna slow down.

>There will be times I ask for an amount of actions that does not follow the three. Assume the highest rated actions will be chosen unless it conflicts with rule 4.

>I expect to see some great recommendations and write-ins, so if something's very smart or funny, I will cast it in a revote which will take however long I feel like.

The moon rests in the middle of the sky in the middle of this fall night. The laughter and cheer of taverns and bars quite as their patrons leave for home or are too drunk to move. Niph and LeFay open the door to her father’s shop, LeFay guiding Niph through the darkness.

They make their way to the darken staircase as LeFay starts removing the covers on the candlelight. The hallways now lit, they two of them travel to the library and drop themselves in the large comfortable chairs. With a flick of LeFay’s wrist the fireplace ignites with a fire, though her father’s magic prevents it from spreading to the books.

The two of them just stay there for a moment to warm at the fire. You watch as Niph just sits in the chair with exhaustion. Lefay finally removed her chestplate to expose her undergarments of the armor, a distinct hole in the middle of the leather and cloth shirt she wore.

Niph was the first to speak as she watched the hole in LeFay, “Are you going to be okay?”

“Yeah, I got lucky.” LeFay had a smile on her face as she reached into her satchel. It was a plain leather bag with holes in it, and as LeFay opened it something leaped onto the table between them, “This here is my familiar Niph, hes what kept me alive. ”

Niph with a hint of enthusiasm jumped from her chair and walked over to see the creature. It looked weird and a little ethereal, but it was a toad all the same. As the two of you looked at it, the question on both of you minds was, “How did it keep you alive?”

“Fufu,” LeFay gave a little laugh at Niph’s stupid expression, “You see Familiers are a fabrication of our connection to the arcane arts. Depending on what you summoned it could increase your sight or affinity for magic. I decided to get one that increased my vitality.”

“Oooh,” Niph starred at the creature a little longer, a little girl enamoured by the creature.

“So you okay Niph? You didn’t get hit by anything did you?”

Niph snapped out of it and shook her head, “No.”

LeFay just got a little smile, “Good.”

LeFay can probably read it and the people that are after Niph might be her relatives, who are not too happy with her comibintion of heritage or somebody that wants to kill Niph because she is half demon.

You watch as the two of them hang out for a few minutes. LeFay watching NIph play with her toad with a warm hearted smile. It actually gets quite funny when the frog starts playing pattycake with Niph. Niph just stared at it for a few moments as LeFay chuckled a little bit. There were however more important things to worry about.

You open the telepathic connection with Niph, {Hey Niph, why don’t you show LeFay the note you found.}

NIph nodded her head at the request. She reached into her pouch at the questioning LeFay, until she produced a small golden note, “I found this on one of the bastards.”

LeFay looked at Niph with a worried expression, but accepted the note and opened it up. Her expression suddenly changes from questioning to alert as she runs into the laboratory connected to the Library.

The laboratory’s stone wall are lit as LeFay uncovers the lamps and place the note on the desk. She takes over a magnifying glass and starts to examine it, “Niph! I need you to retrieve the [Holy Void] from my father’s shop!”

Without even questioning Niph runs down the stairs into the clutter that is LeFay’s Father’s workshop. She looks through the stuff, trying to find the device, until she kicks something by accident.

You black out for a moment while hearing Niph freaking out. Just as fast it seems you come back to consciousness as you see Niph with the [Holy Void] in hand, her demonic features now exposed. Niph was about to run like that until you remind her to revert her form. The two of you make it back to LeFay with the Null, handing it to her before sprinting to the other side of the room.

LeFay knocked on the device rhythmically, its gyros spinning and the anti-magic field feeling dangerous all the same. LeFay however sighs in relief as she looks over to Niph, “Sorry Niph, but the notes more dangerous than you realized.”

LeFay takes out a scalpel like knife, slowly but sure the two of you watch her scratch the piece of paper. There seemed to be a small spark that appeared against the [Holy Void], but it was suppressed all the same. LeFay kicks off the machine as she welcomes the two of you over.

She takes a breath as she got out her spell book, “The note was not a mundane Niph, but a cursed item.” LeFay continued to poke at it, “It tried to do something to me, if I didn’t kill the note I would have likely been cursed it. Though now its going to take me a few days to find out what exactly it is.”

Niph was confused, “B-but I read it too. Shouldn’t I be cursed? And the men were paid!”

LeFay took in the points for a minute, “Well, depending on the spell it might need a day to cast another curse. So whoever gave them the note must have used the money to bypass their Will.”

You could feel Niph’s grip tighten in anger, her voice becoming more seathing, “So who did this…”

LeFay lifted a brow, but chose to explain a little more instead, “Well, its obviously a divine caster since the notes in celestial,” The Wizard shrugged her shoulders, “We don’t even know the spell that was casted at me. If we get a few days we could figure out what is was and maybe some info on the attacker.”

You can feel Niphs fury building so you give your two sense, {We can’t do anything until LeFay learns more about the note. We just need to keep our eyes peeled and ears opened.}

{nn…}

LeFay gave a great yawn, “We need to ge to bed Niph. Here tomorrow I’ll take a look at the note nad you tell the guild what happened.” She gave a smaller yawn, acting a little like a cat, “They might let us off tomorrow because of the attack.”

Niph just looked at LeFay with worried eyes but nodded, “Nn.”

When the morning sun rose the city was slowly getting up. Niph however was already moving before all other, making her way over to the Adventurer’s guild before the forge’s heartbeat awoken.

The previous night was something that could never settle in her mind. Niph was pretty smart and knew the attack last night had something to do with her. Her best guess was that her demonic heritage had something to do with it, but you put in that maybe someone was trying to get revenge for the paladin they lost.

Niph opened the mental link the two of you shared, {Chao, are we being watched?}

You look around for a few moments, but nothing in the sky nor the ground seemed to be following the two of you, {No, nothings there.}

NIph bit her lip a little at the words, {I swear Chao, I swear I’m being watched!}

{I didn’t day you were wrong Niph}, you say in a matter of fact tone, {We just can’t spot the spy. Just get to the Adventurer’s Guild, maybe they can’t follow us in.}

“Nn!”

With your reassurance, Niph makes her way in front of the guild halls. The streets were empty outfront as NIph reached for the door handle. Actually it kind of pissed you off neither of you could find the stalker.

The two of you make it into the Guild to a drowsy morning, the drunks strung out across the tables and the receptionist still trinkling in. The two of you look around for a moment until you spy Rose with a semi-well fashioned coat. She was just coming in when the two of you saw her, but that didn’t stop Niph from running up to her, “Rose!”

Rose looked to her side to see Niph, a confused expression downing on her face, “Niph? Why are you here so early?”

Niph grew a little solemn, “Me and LeFay were attacked yesterday. I… was wondering of if we could get an exception on today’s training.”

Rose’s was suprised at the mention of attacked, “Oh my! Are you alright!”

“Y-yeah.”

“Hmm,” Rose started to patrol the knocked out patrons, “Let me get the Guild Master and he can make the decision.” She came across a smaller girl with blond hair, to which Rose dumped their beer on.

“What the!” The girl rose in surprise.

Rose talked in a stern voice, “We need to head into the back sir, there’s been an issue.”

“And why can’t we talk about it here?”

“Fine,” Rose moved so the girl could Niph, “Niph here was attacked yesterday and wanted a day to recover and investigate. Do you allow it?”

“You got me up for that Rose? Yes I will allow it!” The girl jumped from the table and onto the ground with unusual agility infront of Niph, “Kid, just tell us when you find the bastard. I wont let anyone mess with my Guild’s Children in my city.” And with that the Guildmaster left, a tail becoming noticeable as the makeup wore off.

Niph pulled on Rose’s sleeve as she watched the Guildmaster leave, “Uh, Rose, I think I was followed here.”

Rose gained a Shocked face as she looked at Niph, “You were being followed?!” She ran over to the windows and moved one of them open to peer outside, “I don’t see anything outside, tch.”

Rose closed the door and went over to the counter, “I can’t really help you with that, the bastard must be hidden pretty well. If you want, you can hang out at the guild for a little bit. I guarantee you someone will kill it off before noon.”

“What if it’s invisible?”

“Invisibility is hard to keep up for more than an hour. They will lose it unless they sacrificed life-force, which in itself is risky.”

You came to the realization that there just isn’t enough information, {Hey Niph.}

Her head pirks up a little at your voice, {Yes Chao?}

You think about it for a moment, {Can you cast [Omen of Peril]? We need a little more info than just standing here.}

{Nn!} You watch as Niph’s eyes lit up in a golden hue for a moment. Through your connection, you can feel something similar to ‘Safe’. After a moment her eyes go back to their blood red, {I didn’t see anything dangerous Chao, I think we can leave.}

{Is that so, what did you see?}

As Niph walked outside the morning sun illuminated everything there was to see. The sounds of hearth being lit and the smell of bread being made crossed her nose as she stepped outside. She started to make her ways towards LeFays, crossing by the streets.

It was only about a block when you noticed it, a white owl seemed to fly from it’s hidey hole. It was unusual, but it was exactly like one of Niph’s own summons.

With a swift descision, you alert her {Niph back right!}

In a swift motion, Niph brought you out and struck the bird. Both of you watched as the creature imploded in a puff of feathers and disappear.

{Was that all Chao?} NIph actually sounded a little disappointed in the animal.

You look around a little more only to see the morning crowd and vendors getting their stalls ready for selling things, {Yeah, lets get back to LeFay’s.}

{Nn!}

Nioh made her way around the streets with a cautious step. She searched every corner for anyone following and always prefered streets with people, no matter how few there are. She crossed by the beating hearts of industry and the slight smell of fish as she arrived at LeFay’s home.

A quick search around revealed nothing of note, seemingly no creature that could be labeled as a spy was around and both of you were confident at that.

The ringing of the bell sounded Niph’s arrival and the welcoming of Oldman Furmann, a smirk evident as the two of you approach, “I was able to get my daughter to talk about what happened, you convinced the Guild I take it?”

Niph gave a calm, “Nn.” to that.

The man’s eye starred Niph up and down for a second, trying to see anything from her. You give Niph a cue, her face now turning red at the man’s sight. He faltered at the sight of a little girl crumbling under his vision.

He just chuckled a little as a sign of defeat, “Sorry about that, I guess I was a little suspicious of you kid. My daughter is upstairs looking at the note.”

Niph started to make her way to the staircase, but not before the old man snuck in a little word, “I caught a birdy around my house. Keep my daughter safe kid.”

“Nn.”

Niph made her way upstair, the sounds of arcing electricity sounding into your ears as the two of you carry on through the Library. Niph passes the fireless fireplace and into the LeFay’s Laboratory. The place’s stone walls now play to flashes of lights and and dancing figures as LeFay injects the item with magical power.

She was so into the item that is wasn’t until Niph was next to her that the girl was spooked. The arcs seemed to jump off the note with little control, but luckily there was no explosion.

LeFay turned to look as Niph with smile as she placed her wand onto the counter, “So what does the guild want us to do?”

“The Guildmaster said to take the day off. Though he also said if we learn anything that we should alerts him.”

“Nice,” LeFay became a little jolly at the sound of that, “Well I experimented with the note a little and translated the writing. It seems to be some form of Geas, and while the message is a little blurd the person wanted one of us dead.”

Niph grew a little worried along with you, “Do we know the target or who made it?”

LeFay shook her head, “No, I can only tell the order given was to kill someone. For all I know it was meant to kill my toad.” ending in a shrug.

Niph kicked at the ground for a moment as both of you think LeFay was quite wrong in her assessment. Here Niph was a half Succubus and likely the one that attracted the fighters in the first place.

LeFay tilted her head a little taking the obvious ques that Niph knew something more, “Are you okay Niph?”

You think to yourself about LeFay for a moment. While you wanted to keep Niph’s demonhood a secret from the Guild and town for sure, you have been considering telling LeFay. She’s been nice to Niph for the last few weeks and Niph herself has become attached to her. At the end of the day, telling the Wizard was likely not as bad as you probably think.

{Hey Niph, you can tell her.}

There was a pause as Niph thought about it, {Nn.}

Niph’s face turned a peet red as she realized the kind of situation she was in, “Uh, LeFay, I need to tell you something.”

The Wizard took in Niph’s expression for a moment, “Well… take it easy then Niph. What is it you want to show me?”

After a moment Niph’s form started to change. Her eyes started to become more feline while horns started to grow out from her skull. LeFay watched calmly as Niph’s tail grew out and you noticed the last time you saw Niph’s horns they were a sort of black. Now they’ve changed into a pure white, and ivory color completely opposed to her older black horns.

As her transformation finished, LeFay walked from her station with a stick in her hand. She stopped before Niph while taking the stick and poked it. Niph just stood there like a deer in the headlights as LeFay pinched at the horns a little an jerked it, a small cry coming from Niph.

LeFay stood back for a moment and looked studied them from affar, “Huh, they’re real.”

Niph simply grew deeper shades of red at the comment, not use to getting her Demonic features studied, “I, uh, I’m half Succubus. My Mama was one-”

Without even hesitating a beat LeFay gave a huge hug with the words, “SO CUTE!”

Niph struggled as LeFay’s superior strength grappled the demonic being. The wizard was not standing still though as she lifted Niph from the ground and sat her at the lab station. As LeFay let go, LeFay had quite the smile.

The First thing coming from Niph’s mouth was, “Are you, okay with me?”

LeFay was taking out what appeared to be a magnifying glass, “Yeah Niph, you don’t need to worry about your demonhood around me.” LeFay just gave the smile of a caring sister, “I’ve known you long enough to trust you. Though can you trust me for a moment?”

Without even thinking Niph nodded her head to LeFay, “Nn. I can trust LeFay.”
>>
LeFay started looking at Niph through the glass, taking out a small hammer and tapping her in various places. Niph actually laughed a little like she was being tickled with the hammer, which received a questioning look from both you and LeFay.

After a few minutes of this LeFay got a little red cheek with worry, “Niph can I uh… Take your blood?”

Niph didn’t even hesitate with a nod, “I trust LeFay.”

You watch as LeFay takes out a small vial and dagger, while not the best way to get the blood you give her a little credit.

LeFay approached with caution, “Ok Niph, stand as still as you can.”

“Nn.”

LeFay struck at NIph’s arm, the Demon barely moving from the pain. Though its actually laugh a little at LeFay’s struggle to actually pierce Niph’s skin. Luckily she was able to fill and vial and Niph just healed herself.

LeFay placed the vial in a rack you just noticed and picked up the note she was holding in her hand, “So your guessing they are after you Niph?”

Niph nodded solemnly at the question.

Funny enough LeFay sounded a little skeptical, “Hmm, well we can’t be too sure actually.” She just received a head tilt from Niph, “Well, while they are likely after you Niph, why didn’t the organizer just come up and used [Banish]?”

Niph’s head was now parralel with the table, “What are you saying LeFay?”

“Well,” She took a moment to collect her thoughts, “The city would actually award them for attacking you in daylight Niph, but this person really wants to stay hidden for some reason. We should think on it, lets just not stay out late at night from here on Niph.”

“Nn.”

LeFay was putting Niph down from her work bench when you started to talk, {Hey Niph, we should just stay here for today. Maybe you should read a book or something.}

Niph kind of looked sad at your recommendation but when through with it, “Lefay, I think I will stay here for the day. Maybe I could read a book?”

LeFay finally put Niph on the ground, “You want to stay here today? I guess that's fine. Come on we can find a book for you to read!”

LeFay was practically skipping to the Library as you once again got a feel for how overwhelming this place was. Books lined almost every wall and corner, leaving only the fireplace and doors without any literature.

“Well we have a lot of books here. We got tales of Planar Travel, Language Translation Books, and many books on Monster Hunting. Just look around and see what interests you Niph.”

“Nn.” Niph started to walk around the place, looking at all the books. There are just too many to make a decision on for her.

Niph made her way through the books, trying her best to find something to keep her from boredom. The books were numerous and many neither she nor you could read and they would cover entire sections. Though there was so much, an idea popped into your head.

{Hey Niph, see if you can find a book on learning Celestial. It might be a good thing to learn since something like the church is going to be chasing us.}

{Nn!}

It was a few hours after that idea. The sounds of sparks and something you could only describe as ‘whamp!’ came from the laboratory. Niph went through a number of books ranging from ‘The Use and Proper Procedure of the Banishment Spell’, ‘Sigil, a Mortal Refuge’, and ‘History of Moltland’. All of these, while interesting, were not in fact the book you two were looking for.

It was not until mid-way through the evening that Niph finally found a book called, ‘Reading of the Divine Word’. It contained a methodology and lessons that an inspiring monk to be would need to know. The book’s started on how one should go about learning Celestial and the points of difference between it and common.

If you had to be honest, it was a handful of info that you couldn’t really understand. While Niph was getting a little understanding from it, the sun broke through the horizon as she made a breakthrough with one word of Celestial.

LeFay was coming out of her laboratory by then, wielding the note in hand with a slightly scared expression. Niph placed the book on what you could describe as a Coffee Table as she listened to LeFay’s results.

The Wizard figited a little as she started to speak, “So I’ve finish evaluating the spell and… They wanted to kill me.”

“What?!” Niph’s eyes burned with fire as she came to the realization, “WHY!”

LeFay shrugged her shoulders a little in defeat, “I can’t really say. I don’t remember making any enemies from my college days. I’ve never been to church but didn’t denounce them either”

“So… it doesn't mention anything about me?”

“Well it does say I am the only one who should be killed. Here, I wrote the commands down.”

LeFay handed Niph a piece of paper, You looked it over along with Niph to get some understanding.

>In exchange for 200Gp, your task is to kill the person known as LeFay Furmann. Upon accepting the gold you will be subjected to a [Geas]. If you are to kill anyone other that Ms. Furmann you will die as a result of voiding the contract and thus the [Geas]. If you attempt to steal the gold and resist the Geas, I will know.

>Anon

The two of you look up to a LeFay now laying in the chair, likely realizing what exactly is happening. Though there is the question, why was LeFay so scared?

>She might know something more, pester her.

You can see Niph was pretty torn seeing her friend like this. Actually, through these weeks together the two have formed quite a bond. Maybe Niph doesn’t consider LeFay as a friend, but maybe a sister. Her face, no matter how demonic it became conveyed that Niph couldn’t just stand there and see her Sister feel so bad.

{Go hug her, Niph.}

Taking your prompt, Niph went in for a bear hug on LeFay. At first the Wizard was trembling a little, the fear quaking through her. After a few moments she calmed through and embraced Niph back, becoming more and more relaxed as she did so.

Once LeFay calmed you gave Niph her lines, “We need to talk to your father LeFay. If we are fighting the Church he might be able to talk to his Inquisitor friend.”

LeFay looked down onto the ground for a moment in pain. You nor Niph don’t really know much about their relationship, but there was friction. This was LeFay’s life on the line though, something no one wanted to lose.

As Niph guided her though, LeFay pulled against it, “LeFay, we need to.”

LeFay looked up destroyed at Niph, but she now looked determined, “Niph, I think there might be a reason they might be hunting for me.”

“What is it LeFay”

LeFay started to scratch at her cleavage, the area the arrow pierced her chest as she was becoming nervous, “I… might have stopped them from getting you.”

You were as surprised as Niph, “H-hold on LeFay! W-we need to talk to your father first.”

“Yeah, I guess he should hear it too…”
>>
The two of you went downsairs to the shop where LeFay’s father was already clearing up shop. The man looked over with a solemn face as Niph approached with a calm if worry inducing LeFay.

Niph never bothered to reassume her form considering the circumstances, and the man didn’t seem that phased by it as h spoke, “Did LeFay find something out I take it?”

Niph gave him a stern nod, “Nn, they were aiming for her.”

The guy shook his head, “Well lets head to my workshop, should be the safest place here. I just need to finish closing shop kid.”

Niph went into his workshop, noticing there was a crossbow and a pair of goggles lying out. The hulk of the man came in, “LeFay, what did you learn?”

She looked up to her father with worry in her eyes, like a child expecting to be scolded, “Those men were sent to kill me, Dad. I-I did something I should not have and angered a 5th tier spell caster.”

The man gave a whistle at the mention of the man’s strength and his voice became stern, “So my daughter, what did you do?”

Niph, who was giving the girl a shoulder could feel LeFay go limp at the man’s voice, “I-I… I tried to claim Niph as my adopted child.”

Niph just stared at her with the words escaping her mouth, “What!”

“Hahaha!” The old man almost fell down laughing, “Those bastards are trying to kill you because they are threatened by a 15 year old!”

LeFay started to chuckle a little herself, “Y-yeah. It was a few days ago I was checking with the Governor's Office about what I could do for Niph.” She looked straight at Niph now, “I was worried they might do something to you Niph! I mean I heard stories of the tax collectors throwing barbarians into jail for Tax Evasion and I wanted to get your citizenship b-but.” She started to mumble as she reached the explanation.

The old man chuckled a little more, “But you found out someone had a claim on her, so you disputed it as a family friend, didn’t you?”

“Y-yeah. It was easy because of you Dad.”

The man stood up right, “Well I’m going to contact a couple friends. SOunds like someone's up to no good.” The man started to stretch his arms, “I wonder if Jorges gotten fat from his job yet.”

“Thank you... Dad.”

The man stood stern, “Now I do need to punish you for this LeFay, but first I want to keep you alive.” He walked over and rubbed her head, “You did it for a friend though, so I’ll make it light.”

LeFay just nodded her head as her father left the room.

>Go to bed, FUCKIN TIRED

As LeFay was not in the best condition, Niph guided her up the staircase. The two of them went to the left of the stairs and followed it to LeFay’s room. Taking the right to enter the two of you were once again welcomed to her room, books stacked high on the desk and nightstand. The walls were spartan compared to everything else, making it surreal for the most part.

Niph helped LeFay onto her bed while sitting down next to her. LeFay fidgeted a little as Niph sat down next to her, like she was expecting something from her. Though the Wizard’s shoulders relaxed after a few minutes like this, just her with Niph.

The two of you could her LeFay in a slightly terrified voice, “I-I’m sorry for not t-telling you Niph. I just wanted this to be a surprise for you.”

“Its okay LeFay.” Niph patted LeFay’s back, “I actually love that you tried to adopt me. My family was dead, but now you're a part of it.”

The Wizard started to sob a little, “Thanks, hic, Niph.”

Niph turned her head to the side, “Was there a reason you didn’t want to bring in your father, LeFay?”

“Yeah, hic, we didn’t have the b-best relationsh-ship after Mom died.” She wiped her eyes a little bit, “After she died he...he became spiteful. He drank for a month until he… he hit me. It was not bad, I heard country folk taking worse. B-but after that he sent me away.” LeFay looked up and straightened herself to look at Niph, “I was your age when he sent me away and it was hell. I only got through because of Professor Turnip.”

Her breath started to steady now, “That’s why I wanted to adopt you Niph, because I didn’t want you to go through the same thing I did. If you don’t have family, I will become one for you.” LeFay has a genuine smile on her face as she looked at Niph.

Niph gave her a big hug, one that was filled with love. LeFay returned it in genuine care, like two sisters would.

After that the two were too tired. Niph just slept in LeFay’s bed as they helped each other through life.

I leave you with that tonight everyone. I know that didn't answer all your questions but eh, you wanted plot.

The morning came with the scent of sausage welcoming Niph’s nose. Slowly and surely she was stirred awake from the smells of a breakfast being cooked. Looking to her side there was no LeFay there, but the smells instead called the Succubus towards the small kitchen.

In all honesty it was not much of a kitchen as you would expect, but an extension onto LeFays Father’s workshop. He needed to place where he could heat items and water near and past their boiling temperature, thus he created a hot plate the size of a miniature fridge. After taking a lesson from his time as an adventurer he added a Bag of Preserved Holding and a real oven to make a true kitchen/heating area. They just used his workbench as a table after that.

When Niph came downstairs however, Father Furmann was not operating the kitchen but LeFay. A cold breeze came by as she had already opened the windows, though it did little to get out the smell of smoke. There was however the smell of meats and fresh bread that made the smoke negligible.

“Oh, hey Niph!” LeFay looked over to the sound of footsteps, “Everything will be done in 5 minutes... I think.”

Niph just gave a cheery replay as she took a seat at the workbench, “Nn!”

After a few minutes LeFay brought over a couple of plates filled with bread and sausage. The Wizard placed one in front of Niph and another across the table. The two started to dug into their meals with a little care, enjoying the meals.

Niph would admit it wasn’t the best meal she had. The taste of smoke seemed to have invaded the bread and the sausage was a little burnt, but its the thought that counts.

About halfway through Niph decided to start a conversation, “Where’s Dad (Don’t know how to have Niph address him. Any ideas)?”

LeFay looked around, “He might be meeting with his old party still. He might not be back until tonight.”

“Huh.” Niph took another bite out of the meal, “Are they nice?”

“They are, unusual to say the least.” LeFay looked up to the ceiling, “Octavius the Inquisitor is stern, much more than father at his worse. Holts is likely still singing a bar to sleep while Dorn is the one who trained me in using armor.”

“Oh, will we meet them?”

“We will likely meet Dorn if he can get away from the king. Holts will be slow since he ‘insists on bedding every bar wench he meets’.” LeFay just face palmed at remembering the man’s words, “Octavious will be first though, he would be ready to purge whoever is using divine magic to attack people.”
>>
At this point you decide on asking some questions, {Hey Niph.}

{Yeah Chao?}

{Ask her how strong a 5th tier caster is.}

Niphs stabbed at another sausage, “LeFay, how strong is a 5th tier caster?”

“Well,” LeFay rested her back on the chair, “Since we are talking Divine Casters, 5th tier are able to bring the dead back to life, go to different planes at will, and directly contact their deity without rituals. They almost always answer directly to Angels of their given god and not the Pantheon’s place of worship.”

LeFay tore a piece of bread from a loaf, “To put it simply, they are few but powerful. We are just lucky it was not a 5th tier Arcane Caster or neither of us would be standing.”

Niph tilted her head a little, “What can an Arcane Caster do?”

LeFay just grew a small smile, “Well first they could destroy entire city blocks on their own.” Niph’s eyes started to grow wide, “After that they can create matter and dominate a person’s will for eternity.”

“Is that what you inspire to be LeFay?”

The one in question just twirled her meat, “Maybe, I know I want to advance my studies. Maybe I could learn to control a Goblin horde.”

The two smiled a little at the joke. They enjoyed the rest of thier meal with small talk and such until it was about 9, when they should start moving for the day.

The sounds of a beating forge and commerce cross by your ears as the three of you travel to the Guild. The carts coming from the countryside with the annual harvest on their backs were becoming more and more as the you all traveled through the town.

As they walked by the borders of the crafting district, Niph had a question that she needed to ask LeFay, “Hey LeFay, who was the person that tried to claim me?”

LeFay got a little quite for a moment, “Well they said it was an uncle of yours Niph and he went by the name Dragos Gusa. Its foreign to say the least, I even checked with the local Cleric of Knowledge and he said there isn’t a Dragos in the Moltland Church.”

“Since he wasn’t a native to Moltland I thought I could win without even going to court.” The Wizard kicked a stray rock hard sending it flying into the air, “I didn’t think the bastard was going to kill me!”

The two continued their walk, neither noticing the Owl LeFay struck out form the skies. You had your eye on it for a while but damn, you actually felt a little bad for the guy.

Niph started to seath in anger a little, “The man has no claim on me. He didn’t help Mama and Papa when they were attacked!”

LeFay just lifted a brow, “So you never met him.”

“Nn!” Niph gave a puff of anger, “He’s not family! He should rot in Limbo for attacking Big Sister LeFay!”

The one being called big sister flushed a little bit but noticed something, “You know about the Planes Niph?”

NIph’s red eyes became elated, “Nn! Mama taught me.” The Demoness scratched her cheek a little, “It’s one of the places Mama told me never to go.”

Curiosity taking her, LeFay asked her question, “What were the others?”

“Well,” Niph began her speal, “I should never go to any of the lower planes, especially the Abyss.”

“Weird, but most Planeswalker would tell you the terror of those planes.”

“Mama also told me to most of all to avoid Arborea. Though she said if I am stuck going to always aim for Mechanus or Mount Celestia.”

LeFay’s eyes furrowed, “Arborea? That's… odd.”
Niph just shrugged her shoulders, “That’s what mama told me.”

The two finally made their way to the Guild Hall, a pair of adventurers standing guard outside. As our pair approached the two waved at Niph, “Doesn’t look like your being followed today kid.”

Niph gave them quite the smile for their troubles, “Thanks!”

Coming into the Guild, the amount of people around is a little more than normal. They were talking a lot though and many were becoming merry by the hour it seemed. Rose was standing at her desk, putting on a comforting smile that would relax the people of the hall.

Niph was the one who approached Rose with a chipper smile, “Hey Rose!”

Rose went to face the two, covering her mouth in surprise, “Oh, Niph, LeFay. Are you two doing alright?”

Niph gave an excited response, “Nn! LeFay’s father is finding the Bastard!”

Rose looked at the little girl wide eye, “Niph! Don’t curse!”

The two adventurers just stared at the attendant in question, making her break, “Well, just not so easily.”

Niph took a second, “I’ll try Rose.”

Rose just gave a smile as LeFay spoke up if a little shyly, “Is it possible for me to help Niph with her magic today? I thought now would be our time to do it.”

Rose tilted her head a little before bringing up a booklet, “Well I guess that would count. I just need the two of you to stay in the Guild’s property.”

LeFay gave a nod, “Yeah, we can definitely do that.”

The sounds of a commerce was in full swing when the two girls finished their practice. They walked through the halls with Niph trying her best to recite theories of magic in the world. You yourself were worried about other things, mainly who this Dragos is.

If hes really a relative of Niph, you still kind of want to meet him. He was likely trying to rescue Niph from being persecuted by the locals for being a Demoness, which could justify him trying to take a life.

However, he did try and kill LeFay. She has become a great person to Niph and you can see her as Niph’s sister, to attack her is inexcusable. For that maybe you can just maim the man for his actions against LeFay.

{Hey Niph.}

Niph responded chipper compared to your, {Yeah Chao?}

{See if you two can learn anything about Dragos. Theres got to be something out there.}

Niph nodded her head, {Alright Chao!}

As the two walked through the halls and towards the receptionist Niph decided to ask, “Hey LeFay, is there anyway we can learn more about Dragos?”

LeFay began to think, “Well to start we could check out the Governor's Office. I think his staff saw the guy. After that maybe try to scry him?”

They were at the desk by this point when Rose gave her two thoughts, “Scry? Is there something you wanted to find LeFay?”

“Oh Rose!” LeFay was spooked for the second, “Y-yeah. We learned about the guy who attempted to Assassinate me, we just wanted to learn more about him.”

Rose’s eyes lit with a fire, “What’s his name and description!”

“Uh,” LeFay began to struggle under Rose’s fierce aura, “His name was Dragos Gusa was his name and, uh, he was a black haired foreigner. Oh, and he is also a Divine Spell Caster!”

“Interesting.” Rose started to scratch her chin in thought, “I remember hearing a group come by about a month ago matching that description. I think they were trying to buy maps from adventurers and they disappeared to the Northeast. No ones really questioned them since they didn’t cause much trouble.”
>>
{Wait a second.} You start to remember back then, it was when you and Niph first met, {Niph, do you remember those Corpses we saw!}

Niph’s eyes had a flash of blood red at the realization, {Nn!}

LeFay was looking at Niph with a little curiosity, “Niph, did you remember something?”

“Yeah!” Niph reached back into her backpack, bringing out a small leather pouch, “I found these when I was in the Forest.”

Niph brought out the book and note the two of you found all those weeks ago. As quickly as NIph brought them out LeFay snatched the book and note from Niph’s hands. She quickly stuffed them into a small back you two never noticed.

LeFay sounded a little frantic ass he spoke, “I’m sorry Rose, but we need to go.”

Rose just put on a calm smile, “I understand LeFay. The guild will be looking into Mr. Gusa.”

Niph was rushed out the door by LeFay like a firebolt. The two navigated what seemed to be a Fair that seemed to have started. It was actually pretty surprising how much the two of them ran, but the three of you arrived in front of LeFay’s house all the same.

LeFay quickly traveled up the staircase and went into her Lab. Niph was tired out from the running and just took a seat in a chair in the library

__________

A few minutes after she entered the lab LeFay came out of the Lab carrying a piece of paper. Niph sat right up like it was story time, her entire attention turning to LeFay.

“Well the note was not enchanted with any curses or counter measures.” LeFay began her speil with furrowed brows, “Niph, how were you saved?”

NIph tilted her head to the side, “I found Chao and shot them dead.”

LeFay presented Niph a paper, “Here them, read this.”

Niphil is located in the forest at XX’ XX’ a ways from the river. The enemy should just be Goblins but the locals claim there are werewolves deep in the forest. I believe in your training and hope you bring her to us in one piece. May the Gods bless you.

Niph’s voice was at first surprised, but the voice of her heritage started to go through, “Eh? T-they knew!?

LeFay just nodded her head softly, “Yeah, they were after you even when you were being… yeah.”

“B-but then they could have saved Papa. They could have saved Mama!” A spark went through her head, “Could they have…”

LeFay gave Niph a hug for comfort. You look over the item you three have collected, a religious book, a cursed note, and some orders in his handwriting.

The sounds of the Fair are starting to quite. It seems evening is approaching.

Someone's trying to assassinate your friend. Lets not put ourselves out there before we figure out whats going on.

The sounds of market were dying yes, but that didn’t mean there weren’t people still shopping. From one stall the two could see freshly caught fish, their rarity scaling with the price as some of them even had scales of gold. The other stall was a display of sorts, the man was showing off a various bits of earth and metals while claiming they were from places like ‘Desecrated Ground’ and ‘Beholder’s Workshop’. You thought all these places were jokes until LeFay bought up the stock of ‘Dirt from a Ghoul’s Den’.

“Hey LeFay, look at this!” Cried out a joyful Niph.

LeFay came up to what you could only describe as a Dinosaur being chopped up and sold in cooked chunks, “It seems they’re selling Basilisk meat. Do you want some Niph?”

“Nn!”

You watch as LeFay exchanges gold with a buff man, then the man quite literally ripping the meat from the creature’s underbelly. He handed LeFay a chunk of meat the size of her head, scales and all. LeFay took it and placed the meat into her small bag, obviously the bag was magical as the meat went into it no problem.

The two walked a little more, going past the couple dozen stalls of wheat and barley that were being sold. LeFay was looking for something and dragged Niph towards the Agriculture part of the fair.

The two popped out to see a variety of creatures being held in the streets near the fountain. There was the obvious cattle and pigs that you recognize from earth, but there was also giant living mushrooms, a lizard like riding animal, and a caged chest that you could only assume is a mimic.

The two of them went by all the things here and more. As night came Niph was more than worn out and LeFay could only fair a little better. They were in the Library by now, taking LeFay’s advice and staying outside of the night.

LeFay was resting on the chair, her legs up on a stool and outside of her armor she now always wore, “Did you have fun at the fair today Niph?”

“Nn! It was fun!”

“Nice.”

With that the two would rest for the night.

[Spoiler] Trying to figure out the formatting for 4chan. I might stop here for tonight, but that could change because my group might not be meeting. I’ll post the ‘morning’ if I can confidently get another update in by tonight. [/Spoiler]

The Morning Sun has not yet risen when the two were awaken by their slumber from a loud knocking. The town has not yet arisen from the first day of the fair yesterday, yet someone seemed to have other plans.

LeFay ran down the staircase still in her sleeping robes, Niph quickly following behind. They finally made their way to the door, Niph altering her horns back into her skull and LeFay trying to push back her hair.

LeFay went on her toes at the door to see the person on the other side, Niph peeking through the display window with you drawn. The two of you see a cloaked man with barely covered armor, holy symbols adorned all across his body. You have the feeling though hes missing a bunch of skulls.

LeFay opened the door quickly, “Father Octavian!”

The man took a few steps inside, the distinct feeling of a [Holy Void] wiffting off of him. Niph instinctively took a step back, the man just shooting a glare at her. He fidgets a little, the void turning off only for Niph to feel a wave going across her.

The man gave a smile as the wave left Niphs and yours bodies, “To think a good align Cambrian walked among us, it seems the gods never forget to amuse themselves.”

Niph lowered you as she rose you by reflex, “H-how do you know?”

“Damn Martin told me.” The man gruffed as he turned to LeFay as the field flickered back on, “So I heard someone was trying to kill you Miss LeFay. Do you have any information on the man?”

As they are talking, what do you wanna ask Mr. Octavian.

>“So I heard someone was trying to kill you Miss LeFay. Do you have any information on the man?”
We got some notes on celestial, one of them is cursed with a suicide geas, the attacker is probably a 5th level spell caster, they like to summon owls to stalk us. LeFay knows more.
>>
LeFay finished giving the detail, the man’s face became grim, “So we are tracking down a 5th tier Divine Caster?”

LeFay nodded solemnly, “Yeah… Father Octavius have you eaten breakfast this morning?”

The man shook his head, “No I have not Miss LeFay. I however do not want to intrude on your girl’s daily routine.”

Niph was the one to speak up with a little cheer in her voice, “It’s fine Mr. Octavius, we bought Basilisk meat last night and still have not finished eating it.”

The man looked at Niph for a second before turning to LeFay, “If I am not intruding then I will Miss LeFay. I guess there are some questions I need to ask Miss Niph before I began the hunt.”

LeFay guided the Inquisitor with Niph tailing them into the workshop, clearing off a little more clutter to make room for the man. You could actually hear him snicker a little at the mess his friend left behind, which was quite odd to both Niph’s and your impression of the man.

He took a seat while LeFay brought over the materials that the three of you collected while the man got out a pair of glasses. Taking a moment to explain everything, she then traveled into the kitchen and got out the slice of meat that was bought yesterday.

The room seemed to be silent as the man was reading over the notes and documents. Only the sounds of a burning fire would pierce the silence, making it not as unbearable as it should.

Deciding that she couldn’t really bear the silence Niph spoke up, “Uh, excuse me, Mr. Octavius.”

The man poked his head up from the reading, “Yes Miss Niph?”

It took a little bit of will power to get out, but Niph was a strong person, “So do you know anything about this guy. The one who attacked us?”

The Inquisitor shook his head, “I do not have much information on the man. From my findings before I left he was not from Moltland. He most likely work for a different Pantheon of Gods from somewhere in the west and was sent to retrieve you.” His brows furrow, “Though Miss LeFay told me he was an uncle, is that true?”

Niph shook her head quite violently, “No! He never came to our home ever! He is not family at all!”

Octavious nodded his head a little, “So he truly is a foreigner.” He got out a bundle of parchment, something close to a book and started to scribble into it. It was actually quite surprising at the sheer disorder the booklet was in, “Uh, which side of the family was human Miss Niph.”

“My Papa was human. Mama was a Succubus.”

The man stopped in writing, “Did you ever meet your mother Miss Niph?”

Niph nodded with a little caution, “Yeah, she helped raise me.”

“That’s… quite odd.” The man chuckled to himself for a moment, “That’s so odd it's almost funny.”

Niph just starred at him for a moment as Octavian had his chuckle. He got back to where he left off, “So do you know where your Father’s body is?”

“Yeah, its at the local Church.”

The man chuckled a little while saying, “The Gods have Blessed me today then.”
>>
“Nn.” The man continued writing into his note book as Niph started her own questioning, “Uh, what’s it like being an Inquisitor Mr. Octavius?”

“Being an Inquisitor?” He sounded like Niph asked the weirdest thing, “What class are you Miss Niph?”

“I’m a Divine Soul Sir.”

The man just starred at Niph with a blank expression. Then he chuckeled harder than anyone would have thought possible, “A Divine Soul! Kukuku, No wonder the other bastard wants you! You’re a Demonspawn blessed by the gods!”

You can feel Niph’s growing irritation at the remark but the man quickly noticed and recovered, “Being an Inquisitor was your question, yes. Well most of the time the Church sends me to root out Devil and Demonic Influence thanks to my immunity to their vile nature. After that I am given the task of auditing Cathedrals and tracking heretics.”

Niph gave a nod to that, “Do you by chance hunt monsters? Like Goblins?”

The man shrugged his shoulders, “Some of us tend to gravitate towards a discipline. Monster hunting is more of an adventurer’s game but the Church allows it if it’s for the good of the people and they audit the local Church while they are at it.”

Its at this point LeFay came out of the kitchen with the meat. It was obviously slightly burnt but she held her head up high, “Here’s the Basilisk!” She placed a plate in front of both Niph and Octavius, both giving their thanks to the cook as she sat down with her own meal.

You watch as the man gives a quick prayer to his gods before cutting into the meal. As Niph took a bite from the meal you could taste the sinsations that such a meat induces. Its savory and tender, a nearly perfect meat.

After a while the three nearly finish their meals with Octavius speaking first, “Thank you for the meal Miss LeFay.”

LeFay shook her head, “No, thank you for talking to Niph. I was worried she might be excommunicated by the church without your word.”

The man just grumbled, “You know we can tell the difference between the wicked and the good Miss LeFay.”

“I know, but Niph also learned about what she could do as a Divine Caster.”

The man just nodded his head and got up. He walked over to Niph however instead of leaving, “I must apologies to you Miss Niph, but I require your assistance. I will not lie, we will be talking to your father with [Speak with Dead} and his spirit will not lie if you are with me.”

Not trying to push you all, just something he would ask due to how dialog went

Can you update Niph's Character Sheet? Could you change leather armor to Chain Shirt?

https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Breaking_and_Entering#Magic_Armor.2C_Shields.2C_and_Weapons
What is our (Choastear's) Hardness rating and HP points? DO we get a +2 AC bonus for being Tiny sized?
Do we gain additional hardness and HP for every time we level up / gain feats?
What are we made of? is the durability of our metal equivalent to Steel (10), Mithral (15) or Adamantine (20) hardness? assuming that we were thick enough. I'm assuming we started off with 10 hardness? Do we get a separate tab for some of Chaostear's stats or would you add them to the lower portions of tab in the character sheet?

>Try to possess her into shooting it. (Its something Intelligent weapons can do)
Whatever happened to this option?

>Gunblade (Race)
>>Improve your abilities as a firearm. You get more clip room and a different ammunition type. Upgrading this will later bring more choices as you adapt to sercumstances.
>Spell Caster (Arcane)
>>You gain the ability to cast spells of the Arcane vareint. These are mainly to deal damage but can include Necromancy and Divination. There is no healing ability available. These can transfer to a proper class later on such as sorcerer or wizard
>Spell Caster (Divine)
>>You gain the ability to cast spells if the Divine varient. These mainly contain healing and support spells, but can include ressurections and curses. These can transfer to a proper class later on such as Cleric
>Fighter
>>You become a proper fighter. Taking this increases your chance to hit and holds the highest HP. This will not transfer into other classes as it's a base for improvement.
Are we locked out of the other classes?
>Clip size has increased by 2. Now 8.

Niph replied in a cheery voice fit for a child her age, “Yes! I wanna talk to Papa!”

The Inquisitor nodded, “Then can you lead me to the local Church, I will be explaining how this spell functions.”

“Nn!” Niph jumped out of her seat and went to the door.

Niph didn’t hear their chatter, but Octavian left the workshop followed by LeFay. As LeFay changed into her wargear he explained that he will escort her to the guild and get an exception for Niph today.

It took about 15 minutes but LeFay was armored up and the three, including you, went out towards the town.

________________

The sounds of the fair came through your ears as the three, Octavian the Inquisitor, Niph, and yourself traveled into the edges of the fair. Thanks to the nature of the [Holy Void], you and Niph were about 15 feet away from the man, allowing you to see the crowds stay away from him. You could also see the outlines of men coming into the grounds and coming out with items ranging from modest grain to grand gemstones. However the Fair was yesterday’s enjoyment.

They walked to the white walls of the of the church, going through the ornate gates that divided the church from the rest of the town. Octavian knocked on the large wooden doors rhythmically. They waited for only a few moments as the door was opened by the man that welcomed Niph when she first came here.

He took one look at Octavian and his face suddenly lost all color. His voice started to quiver as he spoke, “I-Inquisitor Octavian! I welcome you to my sanctuary, b-but why are you here.”

Octavian spoke with a purpose, “I came here in order to procure the corpse of this child’s father.” He pointed at Niph, the priest’s face returning to color as rapidly as it went, “If you are able, I require a room to work with the corpse.”

The Priest nodded his head, “I remember that fellow. Let me send for a Nun to take you down to the embodiment chambers.”

“Thank you Father.”
>>
The two watched as the Priest basically ran into the other chambers, the sounds of yelling coming to your ears as he did. You watch as the Inquisitor did a sudden movement, turning off his [Holy Void] as they are now fully safe.

Niph decided to ask a simple question, “Mr. Octavian, why were they so scared of you?”

The man just sighed, “It is because an Inquisitor is rare in these parts. He probably thinks I am here to audit him and not of my own time. Though, I had wished he would have checked to make sure I was authentic.”

“How could he tell?”

You and Niph watch as the Inquisitor brought out a small golden medallion with a ribbon coming from it, “This here is an Inquisitor Rosset. If you look closely, you will notice a small glowing from the item. If its lit, that means the person holding it has a few class levels as an Inquisitor.”

“Oh.” Niph looked at it closely, the symbol of his church with a small gem in the middle. As she studied it though a person dressed in nunnery came by. She told them to follow her and so they did. Octavian ended up handing it to Niph as they walked down into the bowls of the Cathedral.

You never noticed how much there was to this building. Yes it was quite big from the outside, but there seemed to be at least 2 floors of building under that! You passed a number of things ranging from libraries, guest rooms, and rooms being filled with grain. It was on the second floor that you notice the morgue of this place, the stench of dried blood easily noticeable.

The nun waved them into a room that seemed like the light of day was trapped in it. The nun opened the door to reveal a lit room covered in marble and gold statuary. The center of the room housed an ornate table with a tube of ever filling water off to its side.

The nun left them there, saying the corpse will take a few more minutes to excavate and bring here.

Octavian took back his Rosette as he started to speak, “Miss Niph, I must explain to you the workings of the spell.”

Niph nodded with excitement, “Nn!”

The man exhaled, “First you need to realize this is not bringing the person back to life. It is simply awakening their spirit from their corpse.”

Niph got a little sad, but the man continued, “He will recognize you Miss Niph, but beyond that he will be unable to truly interact with you. The person you will see is but a shade of the being that went to the heavens.”

Niph looked kind of down when the man studied her, so he gave her an incentive.

“Though I will allow you to ask him one question. You can ask him anything about his past if you want. Just don’t speak until I tell you to”

Niph elevated a little, “Nn.”

By then they brought in an object floating through the place. It was brought up and placed on the table, the battered body of Niph’s father. Octavian looked over to Niph who drained herself of emotion, “Is this your father Miss Niph?”

Niph gave a nod of the head, “Nn.”
>>
“Then we shall begun.” said Octavian he placed a series of incense into the mouths of the statuary. He came back to the body and started a chant. The smell of incense went into your nose when you realized they lit themselves, the smoke slowly coming towards the body and entering through the man’s mouth.

With a sudden jolt the eyes opened wide with an eerie bright glow. Taking a moment, Octavian help the body rise into a sitting position as the eyes wandered the room.

“I ask you, who was once mortal,” Octavian started to talk to the thing as the eyes concentrated on Octavian, “Is this person next to me your Daughter.”

While you were creeped out at first, you suddenly feel the room seemingly elate the eyes looked at Niph. He turned to Octavian with a little perquest expression, “To think you brought my daughter here oh Caster. Yes, she is my adopted daughter.”

All three of you caught the man’s words just now, but that was something for later, “Oh Father of Niph, who is the man Dragos Guza?”

The corpse’s eyes started to furrowed in rage, “He is my brother oh Caster! He was an Inquisitor under the Angel Heman and should be killed immediately!”

Octavian raised his voice in a crescendo, “Does you Brother hold a fatal flaw?!”

The corpse delights, “He was never good at hunting or fighting in general. Oh Caster if cornered he will be unable to fight a good fight and die!”

Octavian nodded looking at Niph with a curious look, “Who is the true father of your daughter Niph?”

The corpse went almost limp as he mumbled, “The true father of my daughter is the Angel Heman.”

Niph was stunned on the spot. You can agree that finding out your Father was not really your Father but whats quickly becoming a conspiracy shook her to the core.

Read responses in the order he wrote them.

I'm not really bothering with AC and stats for you guys since you will likely never leave Niph's side unless shes dead.

You guys never used it and your personalities work pretty well off eachother. You never really needed to train her into killing something because she'd just do it.

You guys kept chosing the Race option so I went with it instead. You will be getting new choices soon though because of prestige

Sounds awesome. Mention it during a shopping trip to remind me.

Thanks for catching those. I'm pretty shitty at keeping track of stats.

Niph was blanking as the thoughts ran through her head. There were so many problems and ideas with the simple fact he was not her father. Not only that though but she is the daughter of an Angel is quite the twister. There was however one question that might be able to answer it all.

“P-Papa…” The form of her father turned his head towards his daughter, a frown forming as he noticed her tears, “H-how did p-papa meet M-Mama?”

“I guess I cannot keep the truth from you Niph.” The corpse began, “To put it simply, your mother was…” Even in the form of a corpse, the spirit found it hard to talk, “summoned by Heman. She was bound to our plane and subsequently raped by the Mad Angel to produce a superior being.”

The corpse started to find it hard to talk as its time was coming to a close, “When I witnessed this, I rescued your mother from the bastard and went as far away as I could.” The glow from the eyes started to extinguish as the spell neared expiration, “My Niphilim, stay alive…”

The corpse collapsed onto the table as the Inquisitor standing next to Niph and placed a hand onto her shoulder, “You need some rest Miss Niph, I will escort you to Martin’s house.”

Niph nodded a little, the fire from earlier all but extinguished, “Nn.”

They left the room with Octavian asking to put the corpse on ice for a week. They traveled up the staircase and through the front entrance. Neither realised it but their time inside the chambers was immense as the fair was slowly shutting down for the night. Making their way through the thin crowds was easy, especially with Niph’s mood.

It was in no time that they made it to LeFay’s, Octavian knocking on the door to be let in by LeFay. As she opened the door she saw Niph walking by like a ghost towards the upstairs.

You were still trying to wrap your head with Niph sitting in the Library when LeFay came running over to her. Neither of you had a second as LeFay gave Niph quite the bear hug, picking her off the chair as she about strangled the girl.

To your surprise however you could hear Niph’s cries for help, “L-LeFay th-that hurts”

Instead of letting go of Niph, LeFay spun her around. Niph barely knew what happened until she was sitting on LeFay’s lap, “L-LeFay…”

“Shh,” LeFay shushed Niph as she pushed the little one into her bosom, “Just stay here for awhile.”

The warmth of the fireplace and LeFay’s heart did some to help NIph. You could feel her calming and while she was not making sense of anything, her mind and body were coming to rest.

LeFay stroked Niph’s white hair gently like one would pet a kitten only adding to the calming of the little girl. It was only a matter of time before you could feel Niph slump into sleep.

LeFay just kept her there like a mother as she whispered in Niph’s ear, though you were not able to hear it.

Is it just me or do I have a bad habit of making characters go through too many traumatic events?

It's a weird feeling when the Autistic Vampire who has criminal connections and will kill motherfuckers at the drop of a hat is a more relatable character than an angel.

...Now that I think about it, what the fuck was really stopping Niph's mom from using her level draining powers? Because I don't rightly remember off the top of my head if being bound to a plane actually halts it.

It seems that our Quest for Revenge will reach further places than what we had foretold.

After about half an hour went by as LeFay cradled Niph in her arms and bosom. The girl was clearly already asleep but LeFay was taking extra care when she started to snake her arms around Niph. With a mighty lift, she carefully lifted Niph and walked her way towards the rooms.

LeFay took a right, going into her own room and settled Niph into her bed. Carefully but surely LeFay undressed the girl, starting with your hoister. She settled you onto a chair and then removed the Robes and Chain Shirt. As you watched, you noticed when LeFay took off the Chain Shirt and ander garment that there were two slots developing. They were located between her shoulder blades and spine, a place where her wings will grow in.

You watch as Niph released her alteration, turning back into her more fiendish form with the now explainable bleaching of her horns and tail. With another tug LeFay placed a pair of sleeping robes onto Niph and rolled her covers over the girl. She looked side to side like she was watching for someone, and then plucked Niph’s forehead like a mother to a child.

By this point you were confident that LeFay was a reliable. In the short time they knew each other LeFay has tried her best to take care of the little girl no matter how close she got to death. You can safely say they owed each other their lives, and maybe a little more.

You open a link to LeFay’s mind with your telepathy, {Uh, hey LeFay.}

The girl almost jumped she was so scared. She started to look around looking for the person that was not there, her face turning a beet red color.

Deciding the shenanigan can’t go on for long you try to catch her attention, {O-on the chair LeFay.}

She turned around and faced you, looking confused as hell. Slowly though she approached and placed her hand on the hoister’s belt, “Are you-”

{Just pick me up LeFay. I don’t want to wake Niph up.}

LeFay turned over to look at Niph and back to you, “Alright.”

The Wizard took you over to the room where the walls are lined with book. With a little difficulty she wedges you form the hoister and studies you for a moment. You feel a little weird, but she moves a table in front of the cushioned chairs, placing you across from her.

As she rested on the chair you can hear a sigh, “So who are you?”

You think to yourself for a moment, {I am Chaostear, a sentient weapon and… friend of Niph.}

She relaxes a little more on your word, “So does Niph know about you? Are you from her parents or something?”

{No.} You thin for a moment, {You remember Niph saying how she killed Goblins before coming to town?}

LeFay nodded, “Yeah, I take it your the one who did it?”

You nod your phantom head, {I am the one who saved her from the nest that captured her. After that though I learned she was a naturally gunman and from then on she’s been my wielder ever since.}

LeFay just sank further into her chair, “So what happened to Niph with her father, Octavian just said something about learning the truth before he left.”

{Well, we learned our list of vendettas are growing by the week. We found out who was behind this mess, Niph’s biological father, an Angel named Heman.}

LeFay’s eyes widened, “Does that mean shes… a Niphilim?”

{Yeah…} You take a second, {She didn’t take to finding out very well. I… won’t go into great detail but her conception was not a very happy union.}

“Poor Niph.” LeFay rested herself into the chair, her heart going out for Niph.

{Hey LeFay.}

LeFay responded in a sober tone, “Yeah Chaostear?”

{I want to thank you for helping Niph out. If it wasn’t for you we would still be in some inn by ourselves likely pushing everyone away from us. We would likely just have the things on our backs and be traveling the country looking for a warm fire. Though I guess there’s just nothing like the warm fire in a place called home and I know Niph can call this one.}

LeFay just gave you a genuine smile if small, “Thanks.”

You try to feel for the time. Even if the basement messed it up a little you could feel it was almost midnight, {Why don’t you go to bed LeFay. Niph might get a cold tonight if you don’t.}

LeFay just nodded as she grabbed you and went into her room. She placed you onto the nightstand so that you could look over Niph. LeFay quickly changed into a pair of sleeping robes and placed herself into the bed, Niph reflexively grabbing onto her arm like a teddy bear.

Your heart fluttered a little as the two of them went to sleep, their faces in peace.

That's a wrap for tonight! I think I ended it on a good note, we will likely continue tomorrow evening. Besides that, good night everyone!

Guess if you have any comment or criticisms go ahead and voice them. We are about halfway through the thread and likely going to wrap up this arc the coming weekend.

>>
>>3185581
Don't look at me, I haven't been keeping track of the days. I mean I guess I could go back to check but I'm lazy.
Concerning criticism....double check for grammatical errors. Show don't tell. I don't fucking know how to say it but someone'll do it.
>>
>>3185581
I like it, and wish I could be here for it more. The only real complaints I had were early on with incorrect gun part terminology.
>>
>>3185991
Not sure how well I'll do, but I'll give it a shot.
"Show Don't Tell" basically means that, rather that writing what a character does, you write about what they perceive.

For example, lets take this phrase: "She relaxes a little more on your word." Here, you're telling us what LeFay does. But that's not how real people think. In real life, people don't just sense that someone is relaxing. they notice the body language, the tone, and other factors and respond to that. No one really thinks explicitly "Oh, she's relaxing now". So when writing about interactions between people, try writing what your protagonist sees, and let your reader draw the conclusion.

For example, maybe something like: "Her mental barriers dropped just a little bit." or "Her posture softened." could let the reader conclude by themselves that LeFay is relaxing, rather you telling them. This makes the writing more naturalistic, assists with a natural flow, and gets readers involved in the story.

Same thing when talking about an event. Think about how the character would perceive/respond to the event, and write that, rather that describing the event itself.

[Day 11 of the probation, I think. Calender soon.]

The dawning sun arose into the sky, flooding the town of Alan with warmth and strength. The morning dew was bathed in this, burning off into the sky as the birds could be seen traveling towards the south. The people of the town were opening their doors to head out for their works or to welcome customers into their shops.

While the sun did not shine upon the two, its light wormed its way into the room to extinguish any darkness that made its stay there. You watch as Niph started to stir under the sun’s command. The two of them gave as they rose out of the bed with a great stretch, LeFay’s slightly plumped bosom bouncing compared to Niph’s developing ones.

The two smiled to each other as they made their ways out of the bed, Niph grabbing you as she made her way to her room to change into today’s clothing. You watch as the Niphilim first puts on a thin tunic that went under her Chain Shirt.

Niph was reaching for a small tunic but you give her a caution, {Its going to get cold Niph, why don’t you put something thicker on.}

The girl nodded her head and skipt on over to her closet, opening it up to reveal the pair of robes the two of you were ‘Gifted’. She got it onto herself just fine, giving the half angel a reserved form with a face more of cuteness.

Niph made her way down the staircase and into the kitchen, LeFay being late since her armor is much harder to put on. She walked into the workshop and sat down onto a chair as the two of you waited for LeFay.

{So,} You start in a slightly cheerful voice, {Are you uh... feeling better?}

Niph gave you a cheerful nod and responded in a, {Nn!}

{Good,} What little tension in your ‘body’ left you.

The sounds of heavy armor walking came down the staircase, LeFay in all but her helmet came towards the two of you, “Good morning Niph, and, uh, Chaostear.”

LeFay past them and was making her way to the kitchen when Niph started to scramble for you, {Chao! How does she know!}

You broadcast a chuckle so even LeFay could hear it, {I told her last night Niph. She’s basically a sister to you now, right?}

Being placed on the spot cause the child’s face to redden but she nodded vigorously, “Yes Chao she is like one!”

You can see as the Wizard blushed a little bit at both remark, “T-thanks Niph.”

Niph just gave another nod, “Nn!”

The morning breakfast followed, the two of them having the rest of the Basilisk meat for themselves. The two of them enjoying the unusually tasty meal along with some milk LeFay purchased yesterday, making it closer to the breakfast of your world.
>>
When they finished there was a knocking at the door, the two of them did the same as yesterday. Though this time they were much more armored prepared,they took the caution to once again confirm that it was Inquisitor Octavian.

LeFay opened the door again today, “Welcome back Octavian.”

The man nodded to LeFay but before he could get any further Niph stood in front of him with a stern look, “Your Rosset?”

Octavian had a small grin on his face as he brought out the item, both of you seeing the glowing in the center of the Rosset, “So I take it you are feeling better Miss Niph?”

Niph gave the Inquisitor a grin with a nod, “Nn.”

The man turned to LeFay, “You don’t mind if I meet with NIph? I have a proposition for her.”

LeFay with an inquisitive look over, “Will it be the same as yesterday?”

The Inquisitor waved his hand, “No, I actually have a sort of proposition for her.”

LeFay continued to look over the man only to relent, “Alright then”

The three went into the workshop, LeFay getting out something for you all to drink as Octavian and Niph took seats across form each other.

The man’s posture seemed a little rigged and tense, opening his mouth with care, “Miss Niph, yesterday we have found out you were a Niphilim. You are by all rights an Outsider, most likely one who’s origin is the material plane.”

The words that came from Niph’s mouth were sounded carefully, “Nn. I understand that.”

The Inquisitor’s words were slowed, his voice becoming monotone, “Then I come with a proposition Miss Niph. I want to help train you to become an Inquisitor.”

LeFay was returning with her cups of milk when she suddenly started to struggle with them. She was able to regain her balance however and placed a cup in front of Octavian, “Isn’t Niph too young to be learning your trade Octavian?”

Octavian shook his head at her words of concern, “While we would wait until someone was 15 years of age before ever trying, Niph is a special case.”

Niph was rigid at the moment the proposition was spoken, but you could feel her moving, “What do you mean?”

He nodded in acknowledgement of a reasonable question, “What I want to do is help you gain at least one class level in [Church Inquisitor]. For why, I’ve realized Dragos won’t be the last one after you. After a bit of research, I believe the charm immunities you gain will best protect you.”

LeFay was the one to speak up with a reasonable voice, “And you are not forcing her?”

Octavian tried his best to make LeFay feel reassured, “No, I am not MIss LeFay. This is just a chance I am giving to her.”

You gave Niph a selection of questions that you’re wondering about this coming experience. While you would say yes, there are a few things you wanted to clear up.

Niph coughed into her fist, “So, uh, how long will this take? I can’t take that long from my probation as an adventurer.”

The chair screeched a little under Octavian’s weight, “If you are wondering about your probation with the Guild, I have already talked to the local Guild Master that gave you the probation. He said the objective was to have you grow stronger so learning my trade would count.”

NIph shook her head as her eyes had a better clarity, “And how long would it really take?”

“Well,” He began in a little lecture, “One of the requirements is to root out some form of corruption within a Holy Organization. I believe Dragos will count as such to the gods and thus you will be rewarded with the class.”

“Ok, um,” You did give her the last question, but she obviously thought it was a little childish. Not like she wouldn’t like it, “Could LeFay join us? Could she become an Inquisitor?”

“Eh?” LeFay took a few steps back at the proposition, but soon after her eyes got a spark and she mumbled, “c-could I?”

The Inquisitor went silent for a moment in compilation. He spoke like he was unsure, “I mean, another is that you must be a member of a religious organization. While I thought your connection with Heman and the heavens would exempt you, LeFay would need to join a creed of some kind. Though,” He grew a little grin, “I don’t see any reason a Wizard could not become one. Though she can join us either way.” He grew confident in his answer as the little shine was there.

Niph straightened up her back and tried her best to sound proper but there was a little smile trying to sneak in, “Yes Mr. Octavian. I want to become an Inquisitor.”

Octavian nodded to Niph and turned to LeFay, who just shook her head, “While it would be a great opportunity, there are other prestige classes a Wizard could pick up, like Spellsword.”

“That is respectable Miss. LeFay.” The man got up from his chair his garb slightly fluttering, “We shall began at once Miss Niph. from today onward you will be helping me track down the deviant that has made his way into this town.”

“Nn!” It was basically a cheer from Niph as the two of them left the house and towards the town at large.

The two Divine Casters made their way through the streets of Alan, through the celebrations and markets. Men were selling products and some were now just entertaining ignoring the heavily armored man. Taking a que from him, Niph tried her best to blend in and found it easier than she thought.

They were walking past the caged Mimic that was being sold for 150GP when Octavian started to talk like a professor, “Being an Inquisitor is to find the evil within society and purge it. Many times we go against Demons and Devils that seek to bring down the common man and corrupt his very soul. There are other threats though; Mindflayers, Liches, and even the famed Aboleths are all creatures that threaten to hold the hearts and minds of man hostage.”

“What about Goblins?” Niph sounded stern in her question, receiving a chuckle from the man.

“Goblins you say? We are not directly geared towards fighting them, Miss Niph,but they are the perfect specimens to slaughter for what to expect.”

The crowds started to thin as he continued, “Like Goblins Devils love to scheme. They set up elaborate traps and wait in the darkness for someone unlucky to walk right into it and then stab them with poison. For Demons, they prefer to commit savage acts similar to those who fall underneath them. It is not under the table that Demons will rape your body for you to bear their children, kill your now tainted soul, and then do the same in the abyss until you are one of them. That's why I was honestly surprised to hear your mother was a good mother to you.”

You could hear a slight buzz of irritation from Niph but he continued, “One of our main tasks is to examine our organization itself. If our roots and trunk become infected there is no helping the stems or fruits it bears.”

By now they were in front of Alan’s Cathedral. They went through the gates and through the doors without waiting for anyone coming to help them. The white innards of the building looking as elegant as ever.

“There are many ways of searching for this corruption. While we mainly use scheduled audits of a place for worship, we could have either go in announcing ourselves or use a variety of elaborate plans to root the people out into the open.”

The sound of running could be heard approaching as the two of them waited in the main chambers, “While I understand Dragos would be a schemer I aim to break their schemes. I am admittedly not the most intelligent, so I mostly administer force where it hurts them the most.”

Niph watched as the priest from early ran into the main chamber, now wheezing as he talked “Who dares- come into- my sanctuary and- Inquisitor Octavian!”

Octavian just smiled and turned around, “Ah, Father. It is nice to see you, how long has it been again?”

The man just stared at Octavian like he grew a second head, “You just-came in Inquisitor!”

Octavian blinked a few times, “What?”

The man wheezed a few more times, “You just came in and left my...” The man stared at him for a moment, “You have the girl with you…”

Within moments of hearing this Octavian and Niph went into a dead sprint outside. With a flick of his fingers Octavian summoned an Eagle and had it sore into the skies. The two of you ran out into the streets and looked side to side.

The Fair was in full swing when Niph caught sight of the man as he started to run for it. Taking the initiative NIph aimed down her gun and took a shot at the man. It was when she fired that bullet that she made an audible click, the bullet traveling true but as it was about to strike the man Octavian’s Eagle went in for a grapple.

The bullet went right through the bird, killing it in an instant. The man quickly looked over his shoulder and decided to duck into the crowds. Niph just yelled in anger as she switched to summoning two owls to search the crowds for the man. Octavian opted to summon two more Eagles, allowing them to soar into the the skys.

The two spell casters wormed their way into the crowds, Niph getting a ping from her Owls that the man is trying to ge to the animal pens.

“He’s over here!” Taking the initiative Niph started to make her way through the crowds of people. The Owls perched themselves above the animal pens, waiting for the right time to go in for the man. Octavian however was having more trouble getting through the crowds, falling back a ways from Niph as she finally made it to the man.

When she finally broke through the crowd she didn’t notice him at first, but the Owl brought her attention to a slightly tanned man with jet black hair. It seemed confident in that so Niph too the chance and once against fired at the man.

The shot grazed his shoulder leading a trail of red blood onto a pig he was next to. He shouted a curse and with a rapier sliced into the rope that was holding in the animals. The pigs rushed out from the sound of combat and the smell of blood and started to cause pandemonium. Niph however was able to dodge the incoming animals and keep her sights to fire another shot into the man’s leg causing him to stagger a little.

He switched tactics, facing Niph his gullet started to glow a menancing brass before he released a wave of what you could only call sleepiness into the crowds of people. Everyone around Niph, including the animals fell asleep including Octavian himself!

THe man’s face betrayed him however as Niph aimed down the barrel and fired true. The bullet went through the man’s chest! He clenched his chest but did not go down however and started running towards a horse.

The pandemonia started to grow as Niph fired a round towards his leg, the bullet was stopped by his armor. He launched himself on top of one of the horses being held, the beast however bucked him off of it’s back in a fit of ownership.

Taking the opportunity Niph went in closer, once again trying to fire a round into his other leg only for the bullet to ricochet off it and into the ground. He once again opened his mouth and released a wave of lethargy and Niph resisted the affects.

His eyes widen as he finally get a good look at who he has been fighting. He places his hand onto his chest, a white light covers him with the bleeding immediately stopping. He runs up to Niph, forcing Niph to take a swipe at him with your blade. This attack however bounces off his armor even as shes forgon the non-lethal part of your plan.

Niph rose her arms in an attempt to summon more creatures, but Dragos goes in for an attack of opportunity. Luckily enough, the attack bounced off of Niph’s hide as she released an Owl into his face.

The bird however just claws at his armor as he makes an attack onto Niph. What he didn’t expect was the other summoned beast to dive bomb him as he swung, interrupting the attack while the 5 birds all scratch and batter at his plate. Niph could see scratches on his face form as he pulled out and triggered a device, the summons going away.

Niph tried to fire another round into him, only the armor to absorb the attack and allow him to fling her weapon across the fairgrounds. He struck her with his mace, the blow being absorbed by his skin as the weapon was made of silver (2 dmg). Niph reflexibly reached for you but she you don’t return, her demonic features now showing!

You watched as he approached Niph, raising his mace against her while she panicked for your embrace. As the attack swung down, you decided that it was not. You fired a shot; the bullet striking true right in the hand where he bared the mace and obliterating the hand in which he carried it.

Niph watched as his hand was struck, a spark went through her eyes. She bared her demonic claws in their full glory and launched at the man, digging into his neck with a her hands before ripping the skull and spine from his body. The man’s face in utter despair as he lost his entire body and hope of being resurrected.

She however flicked it aside and grabbed the device that cancelled the magics. It was different from Octavian’s as the device had the appearance of a pocket watch if a bit bigger. Niph clicked an exposed button allowing you to instantly return to her hand and the birds appearing from their banishment.

Niph started to jump a little in place, happy with the kill she performed and the comfort that you will always have her back.

After a moment of cheering for herself though Niph stopped. On reflex she reaches for her back, two bulges starting to form and they move rapidly as it was restrained, “Ch-Chao! Something's happening!”

In a panic you think of the quickest way, {Take your armor off Niph!}

You watch as she threw her armor off her body leaving only her light tunic, where the back became ripped and white wings jetted from them. Luckily it held together, if only the front.

Niphilim now level 4! Niph has finally gained unlocked her Angelic Heritage and gained her wing! Inquisitor unlocked. Alienist Unlocked.

As Niph started to more her Angelic Wings and Demonic Features back into her skull, you looked around to see if you could notice Octavian. Among the crowd of sleeping bodies, you notice Octavian laying near the front of the crowd, laying on his stomach thanks to his momentum and the frankley unusual spell Dragos used.

You watch as her wings finally merged back into her body, Niph throwing on her Chain Shirt haphazardly to regain some form of protection, {Hey Niph, we need to get Octavian up, he’s laying in front of the crowd.}

Niph had finally thrown her cloak on as she looked over and then rushed to the Inquisitor. She started to shake the man vigorously, “Mr. Octavian! Get up!”

The Inquisitor within moments jolt awake, drawing his rapier as he stepped between Dragos’ corpse and Niph. He sighs as his eyes look upon the headless corpse of Dragos before her gets a little chuckle, “So how did you kill him Miss Niph? Killing an Inquisitor is quite the feat even if your special.”

Niph nodded solemnly, “I was lucky sir. I, uh, was able to disarm him before finishing him off.”

“Is that so?” He walked over to the skull of Dragos, removing the spine and stuffing it into a Bag of Holding. He started to examine the corpse; drawing out a small bag of gold and several small notes.

Octavian searched longer before he looked at what Niph was carrying, “I see you found his [Holy Void].” He grew a grin as he tossed her the bag of coins, “You can keep the void and the coin. Think of it as a graduation gift.”

“Nn!” Niph grew a nice sized smile, “Oh, uh, so I’m finished?”

“Yeah, my objective was to have you assist in purging Inquisitor Dragos. Now you need to get stronger and the gods will bless you with the knowledge needed.” Octavian had a hand full of notes, all embroidered in gold, “I will be doing some research in the meantime.”

Niph fiddled with her fingers a little bit, “Oh, uh, could you tell me what you find about it?”

The man gave her a fatherly smile, “I will do so, Inquisitor Niph.” He ruffled her hair a little and handed her a note, “This is a Note of Sending. Just read the inscription and send me a message if you need any help.”

“Nn! I will!”

The man nodded, “I need to get moving then. Tell Niph the Basilisk was good.”

Niph waved at his leaving figure, “Nn! I will.”

The man disappeared around the corner, the people still sleeping on the ground as Niph placed all her goods into the back pask she dropped.

It is approaching Noon. You can assume LeFay is still at the guild and will be back home in a few hours.

The crowd of people hit by Dragos’ attack started to get up as Niph walked over to the body of the killed Inquisitor. Without even an ounce of sadness, she stripped the man of his Plate Armor and any gear he might have had on him. She however ended up dragging the chunks of metal away thanks to the shear weight.

As she tried to move the material she was struggling. You were struggling to figure it out, but then you get a ping from Niph, {Hey Chao, could I buy a horse?}

>>
Niph started shaking the shoulder of the man who was getting up. He looked at her, his face becoming elated at her sheer sight, “An Angel…”

Niph flinched for a moment before shook her head, “N-no Sir, you were knocked unconscious. I am in need of a horse.”

“A horse?” The man looked at Niph, his face twisting on confusion before everything snapped together, “A horse! Of course! I sell horses my dear do you want to buy one.”

“Nn.” Niph gave him a sweet smile and took a few steps back, “I need a horse to move my stuff.” She pointed a thumb to the makeshift bundle of plate and robes she assembled.

He looked Niph and the stuff over, “Well my dear, I, uh, I know what to get you.” He walked over to the beast that bucked the Inquisitor off, “This one here is a mighty steed. She’s a Warhorse, not the strongest one but much stronger than your average draft. I’ll give it to ya for…. 125 gold.”

“Nn!” Niph gave him a precious smile along with the gold from the pouch that she received. The man struggled a little catching it but once he had a grip Niph jumped onto the horse. It neighed as the man gave it a simple nod.

The horse stood under Niph waiting for her to steer. She grabbed the reins of the creature and realized something, she didn’t know how to steer it, “Uh, move horsy?”

To her and the owner’s pride the horse started to move on its own. You can hear the man chuckle a little, “You see that my dear is a trained horse. She’s great for a youngster like ya.”

The man seemed to puff his chest out in pride as the horse walked its way over to the pile of equipment that Niph collected. She loaded it on the stead, the horse just standing there waiting for her to give it a command.

“Uh, go?”

The horse started to move on its own, going at a slow walk. Niph messed with her reigns for a moment and the animal was off.

Don't tempt the gods.

Also, the chance to roll crits in a best of 3 is absolutely ridiculous if you give them priority.

27.1% chance to have at least 1 or more of the rolls come up as either 1 or 20. Over 1 in 4 sets of rolls will crit on average. The 10% crit chance odna regular d20 is already retardedly high and why the crit confirmation mechanic has been invented. The fix is simple. Either move to a d100 (5.9% on a best of 3 roll, just multiply all your DC by 5), or start confirming crits. To confirm a 20, the next roll (inclding bonuses) must also pass the DC. For a 1, it must fail the DC. This means that if the third roll is a crit, a fourth roll is needed. So like;

>DC 12 gets 3, 1, 18
The 18 by far passes the DC so the 1 is just a 1 and best of 3 gives us 18

>DC 12 gets 18, 1, 3
Unless you have a +9 on that roll, the 3 just confirmed the crit, therefore the whole roll comes up as a crit fail.

>DC 12 gets 13, 2, 20 (, 11)
The fourth roll fails the DC if there is no bonus, but passes on a +1 so this decides if the 20 crits. If there is no 4th roll by the time you make your next post (or a set period of time ends) then the 20 is just a regular success.

This will make crits more special and allow them to carry more weight while not unbalancing statistical expectations.
>>
>>3192330
What about this though?
>DC 12 gets 20, 3, 1
Would the 20 be ignored or take precedent among critical effects?
Maybe it depends on that 3, and only if with all the bonuses it passes does the critical success activate?
>>
>>3192330
Well there is the other option I was considering and that's not using best of three in combat. Instead a roll would be used in one "round", though I warn you crits will still hurt.

In the end though it's just your guy's luck. I mean, you should by that logic crit with 20s just as much as ones, but you don't. You get lucky and the 20s normally clutch a victory for you so in the end the dice make this story.
>>
>>3192330
>>3192783

There are two differnt ones and I will consider them. Maybe even put up a vote, but I wonder if you guys would gank yourselves as badly as I would.

>Confirm Crits. Best of Three, crits use the next roll to determine weather they are true crits or void. Essentially a either a person's AC for 20s or a 25/75 chance 1s would determine weather the crit goes through. Actually its very good and I would go for it if I didn't have the other I was thinking about.

>3 Rolls 3 Rounds: Each roll represents a round of combat. This is thanks to my style of combat writing and I've just been carrying the biggest roll across combat. With this you guys are playing very much the closest to a normal game as you can get, though I question if its too much. I honestly like you guys being a cut above the rest, but I also admit critting is getting out of hand especially with ones.

I think I will run a combat with both and see how they work. Likely going to be Goblins since you guys want to genocide and have enough funds to set up a mobile base of operations.

Niph rode her way through the roads and streets of Alan. The Fair was coming to its afternoon hours as the selling and trade was in full swing. People were running across from one place to another carrying grain and weapons trying to abuse the local markets.

For Niph and the Horse they walked their ways through the streets with relative ease. Even if people would run in front of the beast, it would stop for them without Niph’s command. It would navigate at Niph’s command like one would expect a dog too. This ended up coming to Niph using her telepathy to an extent though she could only get emotions from the horse.

She got a little hand at it by the time they made it to the Adventurer’s Guild. The horse placed itself in what seemed to be a stables for the varying steeds of adventurers. Things like those Lizard horses were there as well as Griffins as they stood majestically waiting for their master.

Niph placed the horse where the others were, going towards the training field to see if she could find LeFay. Niph could see a group of young boys and girls using their sword on the air. Each strike was orderly and with rhythm.

She continued on her way to see a group of people huddled around what seemed to be a massive crossbow. They were pulling it back with some form of pulley system and loading what seemed to be an arrow the size of Niph herself.

The instructor asked for someone from the crowd to come forward and a person dressed in full plate and a wizards hat came forward. Niph watched as LeFay aimed the weapon at a target the size of a man, then the bolt as it struck him. The cut out was not there anymore, the bolt sticking out of the wall.

“Bravo LeFay.” Niph could hear an older man talking as she approached, “You’ve learned all that I can teach you.”

LeFay responded in modest, “Thank you Mr. Heimer.”

With that the group dispersed and Niph made her way to LeFay, “Hey LeFay!”

“Oh Niph,” LeFay grew a smile as she hugged Niph, “How was training with Octavian?”

Niph had a beaming smile in response, “I killed Dragos LeFay! He can’t kill you anymore!”

LeFay flinched a moment but her smile didn’t waver, “That’s great Niph!”

“So LeFay, what were you up to?”

“I was learning how to use a Ballista. I just need to kill something to use magic and I figured I could guarantee a kill with that. I will also be at a safe distance when we use it.”

Niph tilted her head “But it wont work very well in caves?”

Ofcourse LeFay had a retort“Niph, don’t we normally lure them outside? I could shoot one of them from there.”

NIph just shrugged, “If LeFay thinks it will work.”

The three of you walk through the craftsman district with the hearts beating faster than normal. There were a great many more people running around, many looking like farmers who came from the fair while others were carting goods from the docks to said fair. Niph was suprised when she saw the first time she went through the Craftsman District but now the amount was just insane!

Luckily the horse that was carrying their stuff was sturdy and trained. It walked through the crowds with ease and held its head high in pride. On top of the horse now was not just Niph but LeFay as well, seeing no reason not to ride the horse.

You open your mental link, linking the Wizard and Niphilim, {So hey LeFay, uh, you were training on a ballista right? Do we need to get one or improve it in some way?}

LeFay scratched the back of her head, {Yeah I will be buying one here today, but I didn’t know Niph bought a horse!}

{Nn! She’s so nice too!}

LeFay covered her mouth, {Fufufu, yeah she is. Since we have a horse we could invest in a mounted ballista. Besides that there’s not much we could do.}

You voice something you always see in isekais; Modernization, {Could we by chance load something on the round? Like oil or something?}

{A loaded shot?} LeFay’s telepathic voice became curious, {Well I have heard of a flaming shot, but those are quite problematic with Ballistas.}

{Well we can talk about it later.}

LeFay shrugged, {Alright.}

The three of you traveled to the Werewolf’s Bane, walking in to see the one handed man swamped with people of all kinds. There were people that looked to be farmers who carried silver axes and Merchants who favored the sword, all coming to buy something to use against the evils of the frontier.

It surprise you that the man could work so fast, but then you noticed he had an assistant running around. It was a young girl, likely the age of 10, who was collecting the coin while the man would use immense skill to adjust all the material for personal use.

It didn’t take that long before Niph and LeFay were up front, the girl giving a cheery smile, “Welcome to Werewolf’s Bane madams. Is there anything you wanted to buy?”

“Nn!” Niph was the one to respond as she struggled to lift the plate armor, “I wanna trade some stuff for this.”

The girl looked over it, “That’s a pretty set of armor, but what do you want to trade it for?”

“Uh,” Niph struggled to think, “I need some armor with slots in the back.”

The girl placed her hand on the chin “Slots hmm? If you wanna buy that something like that why not buy a breast plate?”

“Uh, will it provide as much armor class as a Chain Shirt?”

The girl confidently shook her head in confidence, “Yup, damn things nice for people like rouges and they don’t fully cover your back.”

“Nn! How much will it be?”

She studied the armor Niph brought, “How about that piece of armor you brought?”

Niph nodded, “Thats sounds great!”

With that they traded, Niph collected it and she also got a few items from the girl.

The morning sun was rising into the sky as the cold air swept through the city. The fair was slowing to a crawl as men started to leave for their caravans and homesteads. Niph and LeFay however were coming to the guild for today was the their examination.

Both were in a chipper mood along with yourself, since both of them gained a level over their time in the town. They finally made their way to the Guild Hall, the place empty thanks to the removal of drunks and the majority of parties already going to their jobs. Our duo were however not going to be getting their job on the board, but going over to the receptionist desk.

NIph was the one who ran up to the desk to her prefer receptionist, “Hey Rose!”

“Oh Niph!” The girl gave the kid a welcoming smile, “Ready for your examination today?”

“Nn!” Niph nodded her head vigorously.”

“Then Niph, could you have a seat over at the tables.”

“Nn, will do Rose!”

With that LeFay and Niph sat at one of the tables. Traffic was slow at the time, most of the Guild’s staff working of papers and filing of either done or available jobs. A few people who looked to be farmers were coming in, many bringing their wealth from the fairs to the desk to search for assistance.

It was after a few moments that Rose came out with a slim man. He was wearing a breastplate and carried a spear on his back.

Rose stopped a little from them and raised her hand to the man, “This man here is your examiner, Su Sulain.” The man gave a beaming smile at the mention of his name, “He will be examining you two and assisting in you in combat.”

THe man gave a charming smile as he looked over the two, “Nice to meet you two, I heard from Rose that a group needed to be examined and were missing their frontliner, so I joined.”

Rose nodded at him, keeping a professional smile, “Yes, today you three will be hunting for a pair of werewolves spotted near the city.”

LeFay exclaimed in a little surprise, “But we don’t have any silver weapons yet.”

“Don’t worry.” The man brought out two bottles of a silvery liquid, “Since I’m the one who chose the job, I bought some Alchemist Silver.” He tossed the two bottles to LeFay and Niph, “Just dunk your weapons with the stuff, it should last for week, longer our tracking.”

LeFay looked at the bottle and pocketed it. Niph did the same, but you will need to use that since you never got Evil’s Bane.

Niph shook her head to the man, “No, we don’t have any questions.”

“Good then!” The man grew a smirk, “Let’s head out!”

They traveled through the city and out of the gates as they got on their horses. Su Sulain was riding a draft horse in comparison to Niph’s War horse, but he tried his best to not do circles around them as they trouted from the gravel to dirt road. They passed trees that started to turn orange and red, cold winds going through their armors.

Traveling however did not take half an hour as they approached a small village about 10 miles out from Alan. They were on the outskirts looking in on the logging village when Su turned his horse around and faced them, “So Rose wanted me to do the examination, so I guess we can start now. This village was the one that filed paperwork with the Guild. I will only be acting as your support when in combat or if you cannot do a task, so lead the way my ladies.”

“We should head to the village then.” Niph said confidently as she looked over to LeFay.

LeFay gave Niph a nod and they rode their horse over to the Village.

The village looked to be a moderately well off one. The buildings were better off that the village Niph visited before, many made with logs instead of the soft material that the farming villages used. As they made their way in there was a few places that seemed able.

>Many of the houses look welcoming. People are heading to and from them without much fear or problem.

Niph and LeFay made their way to the place that appeared to be a hunter’s hut. The smell of blood was easy to notice thanks to the carcusses hanging outside, but it was also mixed with the smells of cooking meats as they noticed a small smoke outback.

Niph looked to LeFay who nodded, the two of them went towards the back, followed by Su a few paces back. They were welcomed by a venison being cooked by a stout man. He looked to be approaching his 30s, scratch marks all over his body from crawling through the forest floor for game.

Niph looked over to LeFay, the other was trying her best to look proffesional and gave NIph a nod. Niph walked forward towards the man, “Hello there sir. Uh, could I trouble you for a moment?”

“Hmm?” The man looked over from his venison and saw Niph and then up to LeFay, “Uh, yeah you two can. BUt why are you two back here?”

Niph straightened her posture as she tried her best to speak professionally, “We are the adventurers sent to hunt down a pair of Werewolves.”

The man blinked a little as he looked the two over, “They only sent you two? I thought I told them the Werewolves were bigger than normal.”

Niph shook her head while keeping up her character, “No sir, we came here as part of an examination. Our procter wanted us to do the information gathering on our own.”

He watched Niph with content for a moment, then his face softened, “I guess I understand then. So what is it you wanna learn?”

You give Niph a cheer for the good job, the girl gaining a smile as she continued to speak, “Where have they been seen sir?”

The man put his hand to his chin, “Well I saw them North East of here, give me a moment.” He got up from his chair and went inside.

Niph looked over to LeFay and gave a quick check if she was doing alright. LeFay nodded with a smile that said ‘I’m doing alright.’ Niph gave her a smile and turned to the man coming out of his house with a map of sorts.

He placed it on a nearby barrel and waved Niph over, “I saw the creatures over here near a small pond. It was fed by a small cave I used as an outpost, but since they’ve come in I can’t approached without dying.”

“Hmm,” You and Niph both look over the map, trying your bests to engrain the location to memory. After a moment Niph looked up and asked the second question, “Have they attacked anyone?”

The man nodded his head, “Yeah, they chased me out of the outpost a couple weeks ago.” He started to chuckle a little, “I’d say yes to killing people though, one of them had a nice bare spot on his fur, like they were struck by a lightning spell or a Paladin’s Holy Smite.”

Niph kept her professional demeanor as she recited your question, “Do you know anything that can act as bait?”

“Huh, well that’s a good question.” He thinks to himself for a moment, “Well, if they are like any other monsters maybe you could lure them with human blood. I don’t know if a few drops will be enough though or…” He stops himself for a moment, “I’ll leave the rest to you ladies.”

Niph nodded her head in response, “Thank you sir, come on LeFay.”

With that they turned the corner to see Su waiting for them, “Good choice of people I say. Well what you two going to do now?”

The sun is at highish noon. If you leave now you two will make it to the location by foot it will be evening, horse by about 4.

NIph nodded her head and looked to LeFay, “Should we go kill them then?”

LeFay nodded her head, “We have enough information Niph, if we leave now by horse we might get the drop while they are sleeping.”

Su grew a grin as he listened, “Then I guess we are going.”

The four of you rode from the village towards North East, following the stream that was being fed by the local pond. The leaves were falling from trees and the forest’s ground was bare of life, only the traveling of horses sprung up the dead foliage that is the forest floor.

As they traveled Su spoke up, “So ladies, why did you become adventurers anyway? Was it to get favor from a prince or to gain for fortune?”

Niph and LeFay looked at eachother, LeFay was holding onto NIph as they rode and grew a little blush. Niph decided she should go first, “I wanted to purge Goblins.”

“Purge Goblins, well that’s the first time I heard that.” He moved his horse closer to the two, “And what got you into that?”

Niph herself messed started to mess with the reigns as she chewed the thought of telling him. Being the person who is devoted to her gave a few words, {You can tell him off Niph, he’s just being friendly. I bet he would understand.}

{nn.} She continued mulled it over, Su was about to wave but she spoke, “They killed my father and did horrible things to me and mother.” Niph now stared at him with determined eyes.

The man broke a little smile as he saw this, “So its revenge?”

Niph shook her head to his surprise, “Not now, they are a plague on the world Su. I want to kill them because the world would be better off without them.”

The man whistled as he heard it, “Damn, I can’t claim to have that much conviction. And, LeFay wasn’t it? How about you.”

LeFay struggled a little to form words, but she became a little stern, “I started to adventurer because I wanted to become strong enough to cast the biggest spells, maybe become an arch mage,” She placed her hand on Niph’s shoulder, “But I learned that maybe killing Goblins is a path and will do some good for the world.”

The man was just beaming now, “Well you two found your ways nicely.” He looked the two of them over with a nice confidence, “Maybe I should go hunt some Goblins. Seems their hordes bring the best wisdoms to men.”

Niph decided to speak up, “What about you Sir?”

“Me?” He looked surprised for a moment but he then he stared into the sky for thought, “Well… I guess I joined because I wanted a good fight. Now though,” He grew a small sparkle in his eye as his vision returned to the earth, “I have other reasons now.”

With that they traveled to the pond.

So before we start combat fully here are the Crit Rules.

Confirm Criting

When a crit is rolled, the next role will be used to test weather the crit ‘Confirms’.

>>For Nat 20s, the next roll is another attempt at hitting the enemy’s AC. If you succeed, the damage is doubled for the coming update. If it misses the AC, the round will just be confirmed hits without extra damage and effects.

>>For Nat 1s, the next roll is to avoid numbers 1-5. If any of the numbers in this range are struck, it will count as a critical failure. Otherwise, it will not be counted due to Best of Three rule.

>>>If the roll that crits is the last of the three, the previous roll is used. Examples:

1,3,15: This roll is a critical failure

5,17,20: AC 14 This roll is a critical success

10,1,20: AC 21 This roll hits, but is neither a critical failure nor a critical success.

The three of you are near the pond, the sounds of running water coming to your ears. You can easily see tracks of wild animals that have come by the area, their steps becoming the impromptu trail the three have been using. Looking about Su whistled at the marked trees during your approach.

Niph, who had LeFay riding on her horse’s back and Su off to her side slowed her horse, “We should approached ready to fight. We should dismount and go in by foot.”

“Sounds like a good idea,” Su chirped as he jumped off his horse and readied a blue spear. Niph herself rolled off and then helped LeFay who was in her complete armor set. She was carrying her Crossbow and Shield on her back as the Wizards stepped onto the ground.

“Oh, Niph,” LeFay reached into her side satchel and brought out a small bottle of a mercury silver, “We should silver our weapons, we can’t hurt them if we don’t have our weapons prepped.”

Niph gave her a nod, bringing out her own bottle. The Niphilim was cautious with you, pouring the contents into your cylinder in attempt to ‘Silver’ your bullets. The feeling it gave was like a thick sludge coating you, but it didn’t feel wrong but hard to explain. At least you could feel the bullets somehow becoming ‘Silver’.

After the treatment, Niph looked to LeFay who finished placing the silvered bolts into her quiver and rose both her Heavy Crossbow and Tower Shield. With a nod to each other, they moved up to the opening where Su was watching.

“Good, you two are finished. I think they’ve noticed us.” He pointed to a pair of large humanoid wolves crawling out of their cave. The smaller one of the two was about the height of a large human, membranes hanging out as a sign it was female but the muscle tone said much more.

The other one was much bigger than the other, looking stronger and meaner. It was covered in scars the most notable being a massive wound on the shoulder. You can her Niph hum for a moment before she talked, “These are them, Su.”

The man grew a shaky if confident smile, “Is that so? I guess the big ones mine, see what you kids can do about misses.”

“Yeah/Nn.” Both of you responded as the two creatures were staring intently on the three. Su walked a little into the open field and prepared his spear for the attack his eyes sharpened anticipation.

Seems whoever goes first will start the fight.

The standoff only lasts a second as Niph opens with a summon, a Giant Beetle flashes into reality opens with a spray of poison at the Werewolves. They took the hit in stride however, the larger of the two charging at Su while the female went after Niph and LeFay. As the smaller one was rushing them however the beetle grabbed her in its mandibles, flatfooting her as LeFay struck the bitch with a crossbow bolt to the shoulder.

The other fight started with the werewolf charging at Su, but he prepared for it by setting his spear’s butt onto the ground. The beast went right into the trap, taking a stab in the arm for the error. Taking the opportunity, Su quickly removed it and stabbed at the creature for a shallow hit to the chest drawing blood.

Niph casted [Protection from Evil] as the Beetle lost grip of the She-Wolf. The beast was able to ignore whatever strike the beetle could manage at her back as it bumb rushed Niph, its maul bouncing off the holy protection that Niph erected. It did however dodge another bolt that came from LeFay, its eyes now flicking from the perceived archer and lightly armored summoner.

The Larger Wolf fighting Su was able to bite into the man, rending a small chunk of flesh from the spearman. It did not however expect the spear man to take advantage of the close quarters, tripping it to the ground and poised to take a pair of strikes. The Beast being a dexterous fellow recovered quickly and dashed 15 feet away, just outside the spear’s range.

The Beetle made its way back to the Bitch as she fought its master. It once again it attempted to grapple it, but she did not underestimate its strength now and successfully escape before it could close its mandible. While LeFay missed her crossbow bolt, Niph scored a shot on the distracted She-Wolf, and her nose starting to bleed as the attack attacked her mind.

The fight between the two fighters continued. The Great Werewolf this time dashing over after learning its lesson from the charge and again attempted to bite at the man. The maul however was parried by the spearman and was returned twofold as the spearman struck the torso of the great beast with two direct and nasty hits. The wolf however does not seemed fazed.

As you watch the She-Wolf, you notice her slightest movements towards the cave. The two fighters seem to be evenly match, a flip of the coin right now.

The second lul of combat opened with Niph trying to fire a burst of sound directly into the She-Wolf’s face. What Niph didn’t expect was the Wolf tripping her, the blast going up into the air and missing her completely. With that she disengaged from the Beetle and began to flee, LeFay striking the back of the cowardly and removing a nice piece of bicep.

The Male watched as his Female took a strike from LeFay. He released a great howl and charged forth towards LeFay in a dead sprint, taking a strike to the back from the blue lance. It however did not stop him and the Werewolf kept on charging.

He could not however make it to LeFay before Niph rolled up to a kneel from the trip attack, a pair of panic shots piercing his bicep and another his leg. Su ran up around the Wolf-Man in a dash, now between the werewolf and the rest of the party.

LeFay took another attempt to shoot his mate in this moment, missing her by a large margin as the creature escaped back into the cave. The Wolf-Man seemed to grow in stature as if he was growing more confident.

I know it was not a full three rounds, but the situation changed dramatically.

As the wolf howled and readied its next attack Niph brought up her hand and started to buff her ally. She blessed him with Shield of Faith, providing him with extra AC as the monster came to attack. The Shield however was not strong enough though to block the attack and lead to the creature scratching Su’s arm.

The Spearman did not falter however and struck a at the beast with his spear. The first attack only scratched the creature, but the second struck a great blow next to the creature’s heart. It was still standing however, and roared as LeFay’s bolts bounced off the reinforced hide of the beast.

The creature, instead of fighting a losing battle, disengaged from the group and fell back to the cave as its chest started to bleed from the lance’s attack. Taking the chance, Niph and LeFay fired their shots while Su tried his best to chase the creature down. While LeFay’s shot once again missed, Niph’s struck true as the Wolf was now obviously injured.

As Su ran for the creature, Niph casted Protection from Evil as an attempt to max his potential AC. LeFay took another shot at the fleeing shapeshifter and struck its arms, the bolt now hanging onto its flesh.

When Su caught up to the Bastard near the cave however a naked human came running from the entrance. In the sudden surprise from everyone, the girl threw two bottles of a green liquid at the Werewolf. Su watched as the creature 20 ft from him started to heal, though it did not seem to care much for the adventurer anymore as it went in and scooped the girl with its huge arms.

As the two were about to flee Both LeFay and Su took attempts to attack the larger of the pair, though only Su’s struck true and allowed the pair to start their leave. Niph took the foresight and summoned an Eagle and let it go into the skies, the bird following them as they made it to the edge of the woods across from the small pond.

As a followup to the Eagle, Niph and LeFay both fired their shots at the Werewolf, Niph’s striking true and right through his chest. Not wanting his prey to flee so soon, Su charged at the pair with his spear at the ready. The strike was true but he could not stop them as the pair ran into the forest by a well trodden path.

He looked up at the Eagle, the flying being having no trouble tracking them and grew a smile. He whistled, his horse coming to him as he shouted, “Good job kid. Get your horse and lets finish them off!”

NIph watched as the Man’s horse came galloping towards him and he jumped on with style. It only took him a second after to follow the beaten path the two took with frightful speed.

Niph quickly looked over to LeFay and opened a channel of telepathy, {Can I take flight LeFay!?}

The girl didn’t even take a second to respond, {Go Niph, we can’t have our Procter die on us! I’ll grab the horse and follow the bird.}

{Nn! Thanks Fay!} Within that for the first time Niph summoned her Angelic wings with the purpose to fly. While she could not prevent all the other features from showing, Niph was confident this man wouldn’t care as long as she got his game.

So she took flight, her skill coming natural as she almost overshot the Werewolves. She watched through the trees at a comfortable speed and could see the pair running their fastest with Su speedily approaching them. He has however not taken a strike yet as he is about 15 feet behind.

[b][red]CRIT![/b][/red]

Niph was enjoying her flight over the beast, pure joy on her face. You looked about the ground, Su was too busy to look up as he dodged shots from the human in the Greater Werewolf’s arms.

He looked to be struggling a little, so you decid, {Hey Niph, let take them out.}

{Nn!} The fluting Niphilim pointed you downwards towards the pair of fleeing monsters. Niph had a great smile on her face, not caring that one of them was in human form. She just knows anything that attacks man must be purged, {Kill them all Chao! Purge the filth!} She pulled the trigger.

The pair of monsters did not even have a chance as a barrage of bullets rained down upon them. By the rules of the world the only one bullet hit each of them, but both landed through their skulls and never exited their bodies.

The tumbled as they left their extreme speeds, Su concentrating on dodging their corpses and the Niphilim that was falling back. With a swift movement of flight Niph arrived on the horse LeFay was riding.

While Niph could not see through LeFay’s helmet the yelp of surprise came from her, “Niph! Were you able to take out the Werewolves?”

“Nn!”

>Beholder’s Envy

>>3200022
i know right its just the thought of going non-Euclidean is kinda sweet the kinda stuff you can do with that is terrifying. a bag of holding is non-Euclidean in internal dimensions our chamber an barrel could be as well. if the bullet is non-Euclidean the is no reason to expect a standard flight path(the space can be bent so that a curve is strait)

and i only kinda want to the full extent of non-Euclidean mathematics can not be expressed here
>>
>>3200039
think of attaching a scope that can see thru dimensional walls and a bullet that is on all plains at the same time (for the distance from any plane to the next is but a single sheet of paper)
>>
Ok, here would be the ability

>Bullet projectory, Nonsense
>>When a bullet is shot, the bullet sails through the air and impacts a target. If it passes the AC, the bullet will travel to the next target at -2 until it fails to penetrate a target.
>>
>>3200051
It will basically stack the -2 debuff until it fails. Better than a line attack but weaker than an automatic.
>>
>>3200052
that sounds great with the right prep you could kill an army with something like this im all for it
>>
>>3200005
I would say, rather than just making the bullets or blade magic, we make something change in us to bring out the effect. The bullets doing corrosive damage? Look up the Hellfire bolter round. Need a flaming sword? White Phosphorus (or Alchemist's Fire) chambers that activate through swinging and thrusting. That way, if magic gets blocked, our body still works at full effect.
>>3200022
Beholder rays are awesome, but the idea of even more control over our form and function is just too tempting. Temporarily changing into a single shot rifle with a bayonet for example, would make a long ranged engagement far easier than taking pot shots with a sword pistol.
>>
>>3200057
I do want to explain this part

Bullet bending will accumulate the debuff, meaning at most around 3 goblins will be hit at most. You ignore cover though and have your full range of 120ft.

If you go full auto, you can hit up to your mag count, which it like 18 in a cone. You do however fire in a 60ft range and need a turn to reload after.
>>
Reloading means you can't move for the round.

I might just add trees though later. Think of this as what kind of gun you wanna be since I'm realizing later application and customization is something you guys want. So maybe you can trade eye rays for phase bullets and go through walls. Another would be the bullet trajectory is actually an eye ray that bends through the air and strikes, making it more powerful than the full auto version.
>>
Dunno, what you guys think?
>>
>>3200066
i know that it will stop very fast at our current level but if thru stupid means we some how get a 500 on an attack that will hit most of an army and do a lot of damage. its all in the prep work, like all the buff spells and a scope sneak attack and extreme high ground, at a higher level of course.
>>3200077
and i think that so far the story has been great, we players just like to argue(mostly with each other)
>>
>>3200059
That sounds pretty good. Do share your stuff guys, I'm not much of a munchkin.
>>3200077
I'm fine with trees, and as long as the quest doesn't require us to go full optimization with our build it won't be a problem if we pick something cool but impractical.
>>
>>3200077
Growth can be as rigid or flexible as you like. Just remember that we want fun and cool, keep that in mind when we're planning how to dump unfired bullets onto the ground so we can blow them all up in a massive explosion.
>>
Eh, Guess we go for bullet bending!
>>
It did not take them long to make their way towards the carcuses of the fallen Werewolves. Niph was driving the horse as they came upon the with LeFay at her back. The two came upon Su who was pouring a liquid on top of them.

He looked over to Niph as they approached, a grin on his face, “I didn’t know you were able to fly kid.”

Niph kind of jumbled up for a moment, “Y-you saw me? H-how!”

“Well,” he removed a small bottle from his belt, “I only caught a quick sight of you running away, but I couldn’t mistaken the sword the angel looking thing used.”

Niph’s execution and escape was something you for sure was guaranteed. Maybe the man was lucky, or this is the abilities of a high ranking adventurer. He was lucky. He is not true Lancer

“So, uh, ah…” She gumbled her words a little, “Would it be possible to keep it secret Sir?”

The Spearman released the contents onto the corpses, the bodies becoming engulfed in a nasty smelling fluid, “Sure, its only natural that adventurers have their secret trumps.” It was only after a second that the bodies turned a clean green and were engulfed in flames of the same color, “I’ve got my own.”

Niph looked over the bodies as they turned into an recognizable heap of foliage and trees, “What is that Sir?”

“That there was Simple Green.” He juggled the bottle around, “It’s nice for getting rid of disease ridden bodies, but can cost a moderate penny. Guild gives you a discount though since Werewolves have been a problem.”

Niph responded in a ‘huh’, watching the unnatural growth and flames. Su didn’t bother watching and got back and his horse and started to move out, “Come on kid, we’ve done our job.”

“Oh, Nn!” Niph hopped back on the horse, the trained steed moving around. LeFay stuffed her spell book back into her satchel and grabbed Niph’s waist, “Are you ready LeFay?”

“Yeah, let’s get going Niph.”

With that they rode to Alan, unless you guys want to interrupt that with something else? And yes

They traveled for a few hours, LeFay was reading her book after the initial gallop and Su was practicing his mounted combat. You and Niph just watched the people going by and the occasional comment on them.

The amount of people grew as they approached the town, more luxurious crops were grown as well. Some were carrying bottles of wine while many more were carrying animal furs. You two laughed a little at a short man riding a dog, LeFay chiming in that he was a Halfling from across the continent.

The group crossed by the town’s gate and entered without much fanfare. People were going about their business of crafting and bartering. Since the fair came through like a storm, people have calmed down a lot and were only carrying smaller items about.

The four of you arrived in the stables of the Guild, Niph giving the horse a little bit of food before they left for the Hall doors. The sounds of men practicing outside has already starting to become nostalgic to your ears from how much time Niph’s spent here. The thin smell of alcohol and spirits seemed to roll off the door on the approach.

The first to enter the halls was Su with a great cheer, “Hello Rose, I have arrived!”

Niph walked in to see a Rose with a slight red tint, but professional smile, “Welcome back Su. I see you did not die with the two.”

“Hahaha!” The man laughed, “A little rumored curse is nothing against a skilled fighter. But yeah, I can honestly say the two are excellent party members and know what they are doing.”

Rose just bowed her head a little, “That's great to hear and thank you for this Su. If you can, go fill out this report.” Rose brought out a small stack of papers and set them on the desk, Su grabbing them with much less enthusiasm.

His smile faltered as he went away, “Paperwork…”

Rose turned to the two with a relieved sigh, “So, how did he do for you two?”

Niph gave Rose a smile, “He was good and strong! He faced a big Werewolf on his own!”

Rose shifted her eyes up to LeFay who just smiled, “Yeah, we were able to work with him just fine Rose. He’s just a little more… eccentric when he's here it seems.”

Rose face dropped a little, “Tell me about it.” The three of them laughed, Niph not really getting it but laughed anyways.

“Well,” Rose straightened herself up, “If you two can come tomorrow at noon we can discuss how you will move forward.”

Niph gave a shining smile at that, “Nn! See you then Rose!”

“Y-yeah” LeFay scratched the back of her neck, “See you then.”

With that the three of you left while waving goodbye to Rose.

It was the early morning when Niph and LeFay awoke to the smell of sausage being cooked. LeFay let out a sigh as Niph was out of her own room and coming for the meats.

Both went down stairs and was welcomed by LeFay’s father who was at the stovetop, “Hello little one! I heard from Octavian that you took out an Inquisitor on your own?”

Niph nodded with her head, “Nn! I purged him.”

“Good good.” The man laughed a little more as LeFay came down stairs so he turned to her, “So I take it your mission with the Guild panned out?”

LeFay too nodded her head, “Yes Father. We are suppose to meet the Guild Master at Noon.” She finally made it to the bottom of the steps and made her way over, “Uh, Dad, where were you?”

“Oh me!” THe big man chuckled a little, “I tried to drag my old bard over here to help. When Octavian messaged me that Niph here killed the bastard, I ended up paying for booze for nothin.”

LeFay’s face tightened a little, “Well.. thank you for helping us Dad.”

The three of you traveled through the small market of Alan and past the slowly beating forges of Alan. They were calm and methodical, people working on a few prized creations to pull some extra funds from the able nobility or for personal use. The Markets were slow still, but people were now trading parts of their stockpiles for things they missed.

NIph and LeFay walked past those and through the doors of the Guild Hall, the population moderate as adventurers organized the remainder of the Fair missions among themselves. Niph and LeFay saw Rose was working with a person, so they took a seat on one of the benches and did their own thing.

LeFay was doing some writing in her book as Niph was cleaning you. It seemed that the silver did quite a number on your bowls, so Niph took out the weapon cleaning kit and tried her best. Honestly it was quite humiliating, especially when you had to instruct the child in taking you apart.

{Ok Niph,} You continue with a shaky voice, {I need you to put my cylinder back in the same way you got it out.}

Her hands shook a little bit as she did so, but the cylinder slid near the correct location. You quickly used your more unusual properties to mold it back into place with a weird swoosh and gush. Honestly you don’t have much of an idea of what you are, but whatever made this body of yours likely was a mad scientist wanting to fuse magic, metal, and a little organic matter.

Niph flicked your barrel in a test, seeing your cylinder slide quite nicely, {I did it Chao!}

{Yes, you did a nice job Niph.} You looked over to Rose, {Looks like Rose is done, let's go see her.}

With that Niph rose from her chair, LeFay quickly Noticing and following suit. They marched up to Rose, the girl giving them a genuine smile, “Your early again Niph, LeFay.”

The two gave courteous nods to the Receptionist and Niph spoke, “Thanks Rose! Could we talk to Mr. Guild Master now?”

“Yup, he shouldn’t be up to anything right now.” Rose went over and opened the divider to allow the pair in. They walked down the hall, the place lined with a good amount of papers. You could even catch the sight things like Imperial Decrees and a bounty for a Dragon.

The four of you made it into the large office of the Guild Master, the Kobold trying his best to look down upon Niph and LeFay. Of course he just came off as scheming more than intimidating because he’s about the size as Niph.
>>
“Welcome back to my Office, LeFay Furmann and Niph.” He grew a little grin, looking like he was enjoying himself, “I have received the report from Su Sulain, and thats all I needed.”

The Dragon like creature started to snicker to himself like he made a joke, “He’s given you two a good rating and as such, I think a reward is in order.”

Niph and LeFay blinked for a moment, the later speaking, “R-reward? What reward sir?”

The Kobold giggled a little as Rose kept up her smile, “You see, you two have managed to perform quite well in your hunt for the Werewolves. I heard from Inquisitor Octavian on how Niph managed to kill a high ranking Inquisitor from Foreign Lands.”

The Kobold reached into his desk and brought out two black necklaces, “You a now Obsidian Rank. Of you continue at this speed you can easily reach emerald before the end of the year.”

The two cheered at the creature, “T-Thank You!”

“Ha, just watch your allies you two.” The creature chuckled a little, “You are free to go.”

With that, NIph and LeFay are now high rank.

As they make their way outside of the Kobold’s office, the first thing Niph says is, “Can we go to the board LeFay! I wanna kill Goblins!”

LeFay was not even surprised if she sighed a little, “Yes Niph. Why don't you go over and grab some Goblin Hunting Quests.”

Niph’s eyes sparkled with joy, “Nn! Thanks LeFay!”

You were carried over by Niph to the jobs board. Looking over the writings you first realize that yes, you can actually read common as well as {think} it. Looking over, there seem to be a number of quests. Some lead to the North East where the three of you have came from and hunted a great many times while others are directly East, where there is actually a bigger amount.

Niph grabbed at the four quests as LeFay came over to her. By the time Niph had a hold of three LeFay snagged the last one and looked at Niph's stack, “Niph that’s quite a few quests. How are we going to do them all?”

Niph faltered a little, “We have the horsey. I was thinking we could go at them with her carrying us around.”

LeFay starred at her and then at you. Promptly you open the channel to her so she could argue with you, {What about you Chaostear. Do you think we can do this many? I mean we just got out of probation.}

{Well, uh,} You began to finalize your thoughts, {We will not be heading out right away. We need to assemble people and maybe buy a wagon for the horse to pull. That way we can rest and loot their supplies.}

{Well}, LeFay’s face scrunched up, {We could get some people together. Maybe Rose could set up some potential Adventurers for us to interview. For the wagon, how much do you have Niph?}

Niph quickly looked into the air in remembrance, {Uh, I have about 800 Gp.}

LeFay’s eyes widen a little, {That’s a good amount Niph. We should be able to afford a wagon and some form of defence.} LeFay gave a sigh, {I guess it’s fine then. Lets take these up to Rose.}

“Nn!”

Niph came to Rose’s desk as chipper as can be, “Hey Rose! We have our quests!”

“Already?” Rose bent over her desk and received the papers from a happy Niph. She flipped through them for a minute as LeFay made it to the desk, “Are you two really going to take this many quests? Seems like a lot for just the two of you.”

“It would be,” Niph started up, “But I was wondering if you could open, like, a request for people or something.”

“Oh…” Rose went through the stack of papers next to her and brought out a small sheet, “What are you two looking for? Things like how many, what class, and alignment are what people normally search for.”

LeFay was the one who stepped forward, “If we could get two more people that would be fine. If you could get some Good Aligned individuals, but Neutral is fine. We don’t really mind class if they have a weapon of sorts.”

Rose quickly wrote all this down, “And when will you two be heading out?”

Niph shouted, “Three days!”

“Alright,” Rose placed the paper and had the two of them sigh it, “The Guild will get some people together and you can meet them two days from now, morning if you can make it.”

“Nn! Thanks Rose!”

With that the duo left Rose to her devices, the sun coming to about mid afternoon when the door opened.

>Light Armour (to stop shitty gob arrows in the event of an ambush)
>(total: 215 GP)
quick question about the ballista, does the 150gp cost include the carriage modifications and lowered top?
>>
>>3202873
Yup, it does.
>>
>>3202874
>Carriage
>Ballista
>Medium armor
>Two Hidden Compartments
If it comes with the modifications, then the ballista isn't that bad a deal. Heavy fire support in a pinch/keeps our mage out of close combat.

I'll support this.

+1 Light war horse

Your total is 630 Gp.

You got a remaining 370 Gp for supplies. Go ahead and just do those right now so I can do companions later and maybe first combat.

My god we're gonna have to hold their hands and put leashes on them.
Am I the only one here who wants to give the sentient sword a Mage Hand enchantment, a scope and a bi-pod?

The morning came as Niph and LeFay made their way to the Guild, the sounds of people training with their weapons and magics came into the passing ear. Niph and LeFay have been working on a number of things for the trip, from assembling a carriage for transport to acquiring a small army’s supplies for the trip.

Today however was the moment everything was for.

Niph had a childish smile adorning her face, “I can’t wait LeFay! Who will we meet!”

The one in questioned shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know Niph. Hopefully they are an able fighter of sorts.”

“Nn!”

They opened the doors and made their way to Rose. The Guild Receptionist was currently holding conversation with a young girl, likely the same age as LeFay and wore some nunery. She had a shy look about her when Niph and LeFay approached, scratching the back of her head.

Niph came up to her, “Are you our new party member?!”

“P-party memeber!” The girl squirmed a little under Niph’s assault. The priestess was blushing as Niph made circles around her, the later trying her best to make eye contact.

“Ahem!” A cough from Rose got Niph straightened right up, “I’m sorry Niph, but she’s not one of your applicants. Most of the Noob who came in already made their groups during the fair.”

“Oh…” Niph’s energy dampered a little until she looked at the girl, “Uh, who are you priesty?”

“P-preisty?” The girl calmed a little after looking into Niph’s eyes, “M-my name is Europe. I-I’m a clergy of Mortar, God of Fate.” She ended it with a smile.

“Cool, do you want to join our party?”

“Niph.” The little girl turned to face the Guild Receptionist, “She just joined the guild today. I don’t think she can face Goblins or be much help on your exhibition.”

You look over at the shy girl, while she obviously hates being the center of attention you notice shes quickly becoming less tense around Niph.

>Pressure Rose to allow her to join you.

>Let it go. She’s too weak.

>Ask if she would want to join. It is her choice
>>
My thought was, who would be the worst person to give you.

I decided a clergy at level one. Though now that I'm thinking about it thats a pretty good deal.
>>
>>3204642
>Ask if she would want to join. It is her choice
She gotta work on slimes and big rats first, but we'll hold her hand.

>>3204648
>“I’m sorry Niph, but she’s not one of your applicants. Most of the Noob who came in already made their groups during the fair.”
I mean it sounds like we have the option to not take her and wait for someone else. WHo would be the next worst person? Maybe that one their that steals the party's loot in that one episode of Goblin Slayer?
>>
>>3204653
Now that you mention it, I should have given you that.

Then I wanted a party of cute girls...

Fuck.
>>
>>3204654
But really I just thought she would be shitty but can shine like in the show. I already ganked you with only one person.
>>
>>3204642

As you watch the girl named funny enough Europe you open a channel, {Hey Niph.}

{Chao? What do you think?}

{Ask the girl what she thinks.}

Niph looked between Rose and Europe. Rose’s eyes were of a the caring sort, just looking out for the potential adventurers out there. Europe’s however was a little shy ass he blushed but her breathing was calm and she did not seem to have any problems.

“What do you think Europe?” Niph ask the girl, “If you want to become string me and LeFay will help you!”

“Oh!” The girl blushed a little more but said, “I guess that will be fine. It might be Mortar’s will that brought us here.”

Niph gave a great smile upon hearing that, “Nn!”

“Hey Niph,” Rose was looking a little down from not being listened to, “Just... keep her safe.”

“Nn!”

With that they headed out!

I’m tired for some reason so I will be sleeping early tonight. I will continue this tomorrow in a new thread. Unless you guys are good and drawing and want to draw Niph/Chaostear I will be using the same pic.
>>
>>3204795
Whew, Rose is already expecting the worst.
See you tomorrow.
>>
>>3204795
>I was expecting much worse but this works since Niph is basically a ten-year-old tank of death and destruction. I remember the days when she was level 0 with 4 hp. Oh, how they grow up so fast.
>>
>>3204795
Time to go full Goblin Slayer, this isn't some ragtag kiddy adventure is an extermination and I'll be damned if we lose another party member to goblins
>>
>>3205124
Nah, let's go one step further. Starting a religion of goblin slaying.
>>
>>3205151
It's our philosophy, so it's not too far off.

If someone can archive this that be great. Will be getting the next thread in about an hour or two.
