Okay here is the plan so far:
Call Mom + Dad
Call Brother
I guess call BF/GF... even if they are into kinky shit.

Here is what I propose:
1)We collect as many items as humanly possible and bring them upstairs to bathroom. Bathtub can give us water. It will be cramped, but its out best choice for a hideout.
2) Once we have adequate supplies, and assuming someone has arrived, get armour for ourselves and spread out weapons for the strongest of the people.

Concerns:
When they arrive, they won't be convinced easy. Our vessel is fine, we control her. We need a plan to keep them in the house, especially the police.

>You listen carefully.

“...of people have gathered in the downtown area tonight in what seems to be a riot.”
“They appear to be roaming the streets- chanting and causing massive amounts of property damage in their wake!”
“It’s still unclear what these riots are about, but let’s go to our live to our reporter who’s downtown right now.”

“What’s going on out there, Zach?”

“...”
“Well, Dawson, hundreds of marchers just appeared out of nowhere sometime around 9 o’clock tonight.”
“They don’t seem to have any purpose other than to wreak havoc!”
“They don’t have any signs o-or.. Or really anything you’d expect protestors to have!”
“...”

>He pauses to look behind him.

“I’m...honestly having trouble believing what I’m seeing, Dawson…”
“There are just so many of them!”

“...”
“Oh my god!”
“Jesus!”

>The screeching of tires can be heard as the camera cuts back to the newsroom.

“Zach?”
“What’s going on down there?”
“We, um, just lost the feed”
“Please-

“...llo? Hello? Can you hear me?”

“Y-Yes, we can hear you, Zach! What just happened?”

“I’m r-running right now, Dawson!”
“I-I just... witnessed three o-or four… I don’t know, but they...they just ripped two people... out of their car as it was going by us!
“T-They just... pounced on it!”

“Are they okay, Zach?”
“...”
“Zach?”

“… things they’re… Jesus christ…”
“T-They’re…”

>He pauses

“Zach?”

>The reporter in the newsroom begins looking around the room, frantically searching for answers from the certainly befuddled crew.
>After apparently receiving no answers, he composes himself.

“Zach, are you still with us?”

“... I-I think so.”
“I ran into a nearby b-building with the camera man...”

“Can you tell me again what just happened, Zach?”

>His voice is calm and unwavering-in stark contrast to the other reporter.

“The… The car, it just crashed into a ditch, and, uh..
“Those… things that stopped it, t-they ripped them out of t-their vehicle with their…”
“with their mouths...”
“I don’t…”
“...”

>Other than the whimpers coming from the other reporter, silence reigns.

Okay, I got some things to point out.
>>
>>3171576
Put on the towel in the sink and let the water overflow, same with the bathtub. Take the aerosol and go to your room.
Fuck Captcha so much.
>>
>>3171598
This except instead of going to the room, grab the lighter from the kitchen. If we're carrying too much, drop everything in the room first.

Lighter & air freshener = flame thrower
Fencing sword is nearly useless, but nothing wasted there.
Gasoline, oven mitt or towel, lighter = deathtrap or weapon

We'll need that flashlight eventually.
>>
>>3171604
Yeah, that's why we are going to the room first. We also need to put on some music.

>>
>>3171747
Alright then, buckle up because shit just got real. Go to your room, leave phone, take the Gasoline, Padlocks, Drill, Plywood and Screws.
Go down and put padlocks in doors and board up the windows.
>>
>>3171787
Unless we can plywood 2 entranceways, we don't have enough to block out the first floor
>>
>>3171786
I've been thinking about it, but we can't burn the place while we are locked in our room.
>>
>>3171747
>It's not the end
And then it was.

Where'd everybody go?
By the way, fun fact, people legitimately believed that the Dust Bowl was the end of the world when, in fact, it was settlers cutting down a few too many trees.
Anywho...
Use plywood to board up bedroom window, and any other access point besides the door(save a plywood (x1) for that), like a mother fucking boss.
>>
>>3171789
I don't think we can stop anything from actually getting into the front door area into the hallway, which is real shit. It's best if we save a padlock for upstairs and then board up the door to our room. If things go south, we can run back down and burn shit down
>>
>>3171788

Y'know what a padlock is?
A bit of metal, slightly stronger than a hinge.
Unless, it's symbolic, it's not much use to us, I think boys.
Besides.... They open? You got the keys?
>>
>>3171804
Well unless Gumby just gave us padlocks and showed us locked doors for no reason, I'm gonna assume they at least slow the guy down while we stab him a couple of times.
>>

Precisely because it's not of much use might as well get rid of them now.
>>
>>3171799
I sincerely applaud your efforts.

Thanks for running! It'd be nice if you gave us our inventory at the start of every post, though at least this time we got out the door.

What a performance.
Very impressive.
I really thought for awhile there you would win!

Ha, who am I kidding?

Anyways, thank you all for playing once again. It's been a blast.
I may or may not run this CYOA one last time.
I'm not sure.
But if you have any questions or feedback, now would be the time to give it!
If you need some tips, what to know what you did wrong or right, or what's up with the monsters and shit, then this is the thread to ask since I'm not sure if there will be another.

If you enjoyed the artwork come check out the ole blogs
It's all weeb shit and memes really, but I update my progress on CYOA's there too

Thanks again for particpating. What a great Simulation this was :)

I gave you your inventory every time you switched an item out.
But I guess I could do that.

Since there's no "Time wasted" in between posts, I just assumed you guys would scroll up to look at what you had

Also you can type >Inventory at any time with no cost to the time limit or whatever.

But I could do that too, it just seemed like too much text with the location and time and status and etc already taking up space

What did he want to tell us?
>>
>>3175133
>What did he want to tell us?
It was just going to reveal that you're fighting your infected family members, which you probably already knew, but your vessel didn't

Then you'd have the choice to become whole again or kill yourself in the fire

Thanks for running! Since you are leaving the site, here's my little piece of wisdom.
The key to sorting it all out is to understand it doesn't actually matter. And if that's too broody for you, remember you got people rooting for you all around the world. Have fun!

Haha, I appreciate it man. I'll sleep a lot easier at night knowing that I made some people happy...

Or scared...

Or disgusted...

Or...

Entertained.

Yeah.

That's more than enough for a dude like me.

But anyways, I'm not dead yet!
I still have stuff to do while I'm still here!
I got ideas... kinda... And scripts!... sorta...

And I want to run some of my previous quests off site when I get the chance, maybe see if I can entertain some more dudes before I fade into the ether with stuff I already have fully drawn and scripted.

I'm actually stuck right now inbetween three different scripts that vary from 3 pages to 25, so maybe taking a break and going over some of my old stuff will point me in the right direction.

I don't know, and to be honest, I never really do.

But I know, it's been fun.
And I know I'll be back.

It's gonna be a cold summer :)

Skimming the last few story posts brought to mind the theme from Zulu and the hospital fire.

Sadly, no (Wo)men of Harlech, though.

That is shockingly similar actually haha!

Maybe next run I'll just give you guys a gun so you can finally have a "happy" ending

The main inspiration for this quest was actually a movie called Pontypool, which is one of my favorite horror movies.

The "infection" is directly ripped from it since I'm a talentless hack.
Someone mentioned it earlier I think, but it's sort of memetic. It spreads by speaking to people.
Words are dangerous, man.

The monster designs were based on a combination of the Joy mutants from LISA(one of my favorite games) and Necromorphs from Dead Space(My favorite horror game)

And the whole "Simulation" thing was just the classic red herring I throw in my quests.

It starts off kind of normal and gets wacky.
You know the drill. fufufu

I also wanted people to have some sort of attachment to the main character since I knew their would be little to no character development, and you would never learn much about them aside from their family and girlfriend.

Since it's your creation, you probably want it to live, right?

Maybe, I don't know.

And the whole SKILLS thing let me shoehorn in certain things and events.(To an extent)

It also let me explain why you couldn't do some actions, which limited the {Write-in} option from becoming too ridiculous or OP.

Plus, by showing how your skills affected how you did tasks or fought or whatever, it (hopefully) made people feel like their choices earlier really matter, which they did, and was something I was REALLY pushing for this quest.

I really wanted people to feel like every decision they made and when they made it counted.

That's why there's a countdown clock as well!

I know you asked literally none of that, but I wanted it said somewhere since I don't know if this is ever getting a third thread.

>Maybe next run I'll just give you guys a gun so you can finally have a "happy" ending
That wouldn't be very satisfactory. And we all know the world was fucked beyond repair anyways.
>Someone mentioned it earlier I think, but it's sort of memetic. It spreads by speaking to people.
Heh, called it.
>The monster designs were based on a combination of the Joy mutants from LISA(one of my favorite games) and Necromorphs from Dead Space(My favorite horror game)
Great taste.
>And the whole "Simulation" thing was just the classic red herring I throw in my quests.
I thought you had ripped it off from Deltarune, maybe you aren't that much of a hack.
>I also wanted people to have some sort of attachment to the main character since I knew their would be little to no character development, and you would never learn much about them aside from their family and girlfriend. Since it's your creation, you probably want it to live, right?
Yeah. I mean, I don't like it when people die, specially if I'm responsible for their lives.
>And the whole SKILLS thing let me shoehorn in certain things···
It was all well thought, a good example of a "One-shot" that works.

All in all, I look forward to see more of you! Enjoy your insecure/smug bait&switch act while you still can.

Very true. I like seeing you guys think of creative ways to fight anyways. More fun.

>Heh, called it.

Well done :)

>I thought you had ripped it off from Deltarune, maybe you aren't that much of a hack.

Ah, yeah, I did like that game. Maybe a little bit, but I can't honestly say that's what I was thinking of.

I was going for a more "Normal CYOA" vibe.
Since I think you create a character at the beginning of most CYOAs?
Well, back when I played DnD with my boys on a daily basis, we all would create a new character with skill sets and shit before a new quest.
That was the idea.
"Normal CYOA Character creation"
With some Gumby weirdness added on top, of course.

>Yeah. I mean, I don't like it when people die, specially if I'm responsible for their lives

That's probably a good thing.

>All in all, I look forward to see more of you!

Jeez, you're gonna make me blush

If you keep this up I might have to make my next quest actually normal!

Or make it True Suffering :)

I don't know, but I'll have to do one or the other

>Enjoy your insecure/smug bait&switch act while you still can.

At this point, I already can't!
People caught wise pretty quick to my gimmicks!
Now they all know my secrets!

Seriously, one of these days I'm going to make a completely mundane and normal quest with nothing weird going on just to fuck with everyone who already knows my bait and switch methods.
Just you wait...

Come to think of it, this was like a gory bad-end version of Home Alone.

The concepts here could be adapted to a gladiator campaign. Pick your character class (retiarius, secutor, &c.), flesh out various skills and throw the poor sod into one theatrically outlandish spectacle of horror after another.

I wouldn't be against it!
But that's really a task for a different QM.

This isn't normally my style of spooks, and this is actually the first quest I've run with any form of combat in it.
A quest like the one you're describing, while cool as hell, isn't something I think I could pull off since I could barely make it work here haha.
