(Welcome back friends, I have a friend in the ER tonight due to an attempted suicide. However we will be drowning that out with whiskey and WENDIGO QUEST!}

Last thread we secured arms for the merchants by raiding a empire warehouse, moved shop to a new base, oversaw a drug deal, and stumbled upon a freshly triggered cape in the throes of sorrow.

>We voted to attempt to calm him with a roll of 17

"Listen man, I've been there. I woke up like this. There's no going back for me. You said that you were stuck in that form after creating the forth shadow-guy. Could you try, I don't know sending him away?" You finish with a finger point at one of the shadow-men.

The man covered in rot looks up, and with a face of absolute concentration, he .W̧̮͈̩͎̝̘̠̣̓̋͌̄̕͢͞į̵̹͙̻̥̙͇̺͙̈̎̏̈́̀̚͟͞͠ļ̢̮̩̝͉͙̙̒̽͋̇͛͟l͕̹̭̮̟͙̖͒̈́͌̔͝ş̷̛̥̟͓͖͉̣͂͐͗̉͟ h̷̨̨̜̠͇̞̱̦͉̟̄͌̋̔̿͝i̧̖̤̤͕̣̐̌͋̑̃̈̎̐s̡̩̝̦̫̗̃͊̋͊͛͞ c̸̢̠̪̒̀́̒̋̂͜͢o̡̠̫͇̜̿̀̈̌͐̀̄͆̐͟͝n̵̨̢̛̛͔̖̼̓̇̾͌̄͛̚͡s̡̠̺̼̭̺̀̂̓̂͆́̕͢͠͞t̷̠͕͎̪̩͓͛͌̔̌̓̽͟͠r̴̢͈̦̯̊̊̃͒̀̀́̏̂̕ͅų̸̢̡̰͍̥̱̀̓͊̑̃̇͠c̢̪͍͉̻̹̟̞͔̓̀̓́̑̓t͈̯̣̞̟́̆̾̈́̋̆ ĩ̷̧̝̫̳̳̌͆̿̂͘ņ̸̧̮͉̈́͛̉̈́̔ť̴̢̳̠̩́͛̿̐̑̋͂̚̕͢o̵̧̺͉̤͂͒̽̾̕͟͢ n̴̡̛͙̥̳̥͍̹̮͋̔͐͛̾̀͘͢ͅǫ̞̯̮̩̮͐̆̿̔̔̐̌̄͆͡t̢̮̥͉̹͂͂̀̓̚̚h̸̤͚͕̦͎͖̞̎̿͘͘͝͠i̛̠͙̰͕̫̿͆̒̓͐̊̈́͘̚n̴̛͕͚̙̞̪͈̯̟͓̋͛͘͞ǧ̷̩̙͉̖̺͍͗̀̍͗̕͢͝͠͠ń̡̬͉̪̗̗͉̜͈͑̿̄̇̓e̸̠̼͙̥̦̼͒͌̓͘͜͝s̵͙̟͉̰̼̽̔̽̓̒s̢̬̥̖͉̝̠͓̑̾̀̐̓̿͛̃̔.̞̟͇͈͊̉̍̊͒̇͜ A̡̙̭̺̦̩͔͊̂́̎͒̆͡ͅş̷̣̘̹̦͔̹̇̈͆̄̈́͛͘͘h̸̰͙̟̤͖̰̄̉̋̒̓̎͝͠͞ę̷̻̗͍̤̰͍̤́̍̓̈́̂s̛̹̰͎͉̦̮͉͌͋̎͂̔͛̍̕͢ t̴̞͚̤̟͙̱̯͔̔̓́̊͑̽͘͟ȍ̷̡̨̧̗̞̼̩̑̂͡ a̷̢̖̤͈̬̜̝͔̾̏̂̉̏͝ś̨̡̛̯̳̺̖͆̃̒͌͜h̷͎̭̥͊́̾̀̀͢͢ȩ̴̫̳̞̘̟̼͛̉̏̓̔s̷̡̥̩͖̰̱͚̐̽̿͐͑,̜̤̩̫̼̜͊̂̈̈́͆̓ ḑ̣͕̾͂̉͛͒͗̊̋̔͟͜ų̭͙̰͎͈̯͕̟̾͒̇̍̓̚͢s̨̘̹̩̟͉̭͉̎̄̾͆͢͠ţ̶̡̨͖̜͛͂̊̏̒͊͋͘ ṫ̡̛̜̖̰̖̭̻̹̪͐̒͂͂̈̌ͅǫ̘̻͇̘̩̼̙̑̒̔̂̌̃͡ͅ d̛̞̟͔̺̙̻̓͋̓̒̄͆͠u͔̹̤͎̱̓̂̀̿̕͞͡s̸̰̱̭͓̜͉̗̹͉̽͆͊̀͛̇̚͝t̵͔̮͖̮̬̟̼͐́͗̈̄̃͘͟ͅ.

As the shadow-man disappears, the rot and filth sloughs off the man, and the color of the living returns to him.

He looks up to you with tears in his eyes, and whispers "Thank you..." Before falling unconscious.

"Ah goddamnit..." You mutter, as you hoist him over your shoulder, and make the trek back to the Freighter. His shadow-men follow behind single file, dutifully soldiers to their master.

You make your slow return to the freighter, taking extra care of your special cargo. People wave to you as you approach, and muttering sweep through the ship while you climb up the stairs.

The Shadow-men file in behind you into the Bridge, where Squealer is working with what seems to be the remnants of the tinker weapons you "requisitioned" from the Empire.

"Holy fuck Famine, what did you do?"

"Found this guy by the entrance of the Graveyard, he was in some Breaker state, and can create these shadow guys. I calmed him down and he passed out."

She throws an appraising eye over the unconscious man. "Goddamn he looks old... Well he can crash here for now, kinda the whole point of our movement. Fuck, we'll ask him what's up in the morning. Anyway, while you were running around scouting, Cricket woke up. Care to stop down in the "Brig" and use some advanced interrogation."

You give her a rough draft of your scouting, and make mark of the blocked roads. One of the Merchants leads you below deck, and all the way to bottom deck. In the stern, tucked away in the engine room there is a dank, dripping set of cells.

Laying on a mildewed blanket, is the feeble form of Cricket.

You crouch outside the cell in front of Cricket, and then you S͚̟̫̣̹̃͒͑̐͑̂͘͢͢͡h̢̥̻̜̼̞̓̃̓͒̇̎̏į̶͍̦̹̦̤͇̎̌͋͌̀́̈́f̷̟̣̫̦̫͍̰͓̍͊͒͆̐͡t̸̡̛͉̙̦͔̱̰̥͔̣͊̉͗̀̊̑̀́̔ through the bars. The once "roomy" cell is now very cramped, with your bulk taking up over half the room. Cricket scramples to the corner of the cell. Her whimpering grates on your ears.

"Pray tell, child of the the alone Father, what was it you saw in the terror of the night. In the moments you were all alone. When the wind howled, and you screamed for help, but no one answered through the void"

Tears pour out her eyes in torrent, mixing with blood. Her mouth babbles in terror "A great worm shifting through a star filled void, all alone. He was jealous, he harmed those of his own kind, and took pity on those lesser than him. He drifted away, in sorrow an torment. When he finally returned, he destroyed the mourning Worm, and swallowed the world. Come next morning, you awake in your bed once more. Squealer stands peering over you expectantly.

"Your new friend is up, care to go say hi so we can get on with our work."

Walking over to one of the housing holds, you see a bed guarded by the three shadowy figures you saw yesterday. The man has see some rough days, and looks weathered.

"I didn't know you were a Merchant... I saw you in the news but it just didn't click yesterday. I hope you're not gonna forcefully addict me are you?"

He seems to have some negative preconceptions of your little family. A new cape will be indispensable while Skidmark is gone, not to mention a glowing mark on your record.

>17 v.s 1 (ayyy lmao)

You shuffle closer to the bed. "Man, do you know what happened the night I triggered?"

"What?" He says blankly, staring straight ahead.

"I woke up in an alley, all I could remember was cold, rot, and hunger. My body was not what I remembered it to be... I wandered through the streets looking for shelter. First thing I saw were a group of Empire thugs assaulting a black couple in the darkness... and I ran." He looks at you and meets your gaze.

"When I shambled through the streets, lost, alone, and hungry, the Merchant's took me in, no questions asked. Skidmark didn't give two shits what I looked like."

"Well yeah, you're the cape that's is arguably the biggest power-player for them right now."

"He had no way of knowing that at the time. No, we're not going to hook you on drugs, but your best choice is to stay with us. The PRT will be on the hunt for you because they think you can't control your powers. The ABB will only take Orientals. As for the Empire, they are literal Nazis."

"Well... you're right there. In this town you're either a dope-fiend, a Nazi, or one of the dragon's men."

"Listen, it doesn't have to be that way. To me the Merchant's are not the dope we push, the money we make, or where we are. It's the people, the downtrodden. Those that have been thrown to the wayside by all others, and left to rot. Everything we do is not out of sadism or some dark purpose, but to survive, to give people homes and food where they would have none."

He places his head in his hands. "I guess I fit in then don't I? I have nothing now, wife and kids are all dead. The house is burnt to the ground, I was planning on ending it-" He begins to spiral but you interrupt him

"It doesn't have to be that way. To the people out there, I'm a hero. They wave to me when I walk by. To all others they only see this monster on the outside. There is something to live for, we need someone like you, we're made for someone like you. A man with nothing, down on his luck."

He raises his head from his hands, and shifts to sitting up on the bed. He extends his hand out, and wraps it around your largest claw.

"The name's Steve, I was pissing around with the cape name Corrosion."

"Famine, and that'll do. Welcome to the Family Steve."

>Cape gained! Corrosion-a breaker/master with the ability to destroy matter in his breaker state, and summon shadow-beings to enact his will.

You lift Corrosion to his feet. "Umm, I don't worry about it but I think you may want to cover your face. At-least when you're not in rot mode." Corrosion shift around in his pocket, and pulls out a grimy ski-mask.

"That'll do."

You lead him around the Freighter, and make a show of saying hi to the people making themselves comfortable.

On your way to top deck, you run across Red. "Hey Famine, sleeping beauty finally awake I see!" He says while slapping Corrosion's back.

"Uh ha ha... yeah, I had a bit of a rough night yesterday." Corrosion mumbles

"Haven't we all man. Anyways, listen Famine. Squealer wants you up top-deck in the bridge."

"Was on our way there."

"Good, good man. anyways we're making good headway on repairing the ship. Should be done in about 2-3 days. Should be having a base warming party when it's all done."

"See you then Red." You reply and make your way to the Bridge. Inside of Squealer's and Skidmark's impromptu captain's quarters, you see the former in the center working away at a table.

4 of the 5 recovered Tinker weapons are dismantled and have all sorts of wiring connecting them together. Squealer flips a switch, and they all begin to glow a myriad of colors. When a cable begins to melt, she quickly shuts it off and starts writing in a small journal. She looks up to address you.

"Good Morning Famine, we sent some guys to confirm the position of the Empire spots you found out yesterday, they're legit."

"I'm effective."

She scoffs. "As always, so this is this the fucking new guy?"

Corrosion flinches and steps forward. "My cape name is Corrosion, I have a breaker state that can rot through matter, and let me sink into things. I have a master rating I think where I can summon these shadow servants."

Squealer cocks her head when the word master comes out of Corrosion's mouth "Not a name that's taken to my knowledge, and hold your fucking head up. You're one of us, walk tall."

Corrosion straightens his back in a show.

"So my plan was to aid the work crews this morning, do some training with Corrosion around midday to the afternoon, and then patrol some of our turf around the evening and night."

She gives you a nod. "We'll we have around three work crews right now. One is dedicated to the welding of slabs for re-enforcement and the creation of some protective structures. The other is for the renovation of the holds into living spaces, adding wiring, lights, the works. The last in for the requisition of scrap and all that good shit from the other ships in the Graveyard"

(I hope he returns anon. We need to collect all of Beardmaster's arms. Everyday I sacrifice a steer in the chance of his resurrection )

"Acquisitions." You say with certainty.

Squealer gives you a nod and says. "Go out to the entrance, Rick is waiting there with some boys and a blue armband."

Shift along like a massive ghost of murder, you make your way through the grayscaled insides of the ship. Many of the gang members just step aside, having become accustomed to your to your ghastly presence.

Outside of the headquarters is a milling group of Merchants, with Rick the previous member of your party that was shot in the assault upon the Empire. They're all wearing blue armbands, and Rick has one that is more of a sash.

"Hey Famine! Squealer gave me charge of some boys to get some parts and scrap. Can't thank you enough for saving my bacon back at the warehouse. Heard you may be joining us this mornin'." He finished with lifting the large blue sash and a wide smile.

You give a chuckle, and gingerly lift the sash from his hands, throwing it across your shoulders.

"So Rick what't the plan?" You say.

"Well... um... the ships you marked, we're gonna hit those since they seemed to be the most valuable." He says unfolding a scrawled map. Your merry little band of one monster and 30 Merchants set off with carts, tarps, and various power tools. You pull a small flatbed trailer behind you. Some start humming, and that progresses to singing.

In all honesty, Rick was right... it's a beautiful day.

You all hit one ship after another. The men head inside, and look for scrap machinery to take back to Squealer, they remove wiring and grab any remaining odds and ends. Whenever someone can't get a half corroded motor off, they give a holler, and you shift in and rip it off its mounting.

You spend most of your time wading and swimming through the tide, whenever you find a beached ship with useful steel you use your finger blades to slice the hulls into strips. You carry the soon-to-be slabs and place them into the trailer.

Soon everyone regroups, and begins the harder walk back to the Freighter. It's times like this you're glad you no longer sweat, and always feel slightly cold.

>-10 HUNGER

>SCRAP COLLECTED- +20 TO THE CONSTRUCTION

Approaching the ship you set the trailer down near the open-air welding shop. Many of the gang give you a quick wave and thanks, and then begin to carefully grab the rough strip of metal to start the process of making them usable.

You see Corrosion in his dirty ski-mask standing to the side awkwardly.

"So... Famine. You said something about wanting to train?" He says while rubbing his arm.

>Cape train with Corrosion
Let's set up some "targets" using useless scrap. You can show us what you can do man.
>>
>>3178250
Does feeding on capes give us +100 hunger, or was Alabaster an exception?

Also Corrosion is free to get creative.
>>
>>3178250
Speaking of slaughter, do you go exclusively for pigs or do you do other animals as well? If the former, how much would you guess an entire pig would cost in the Worm-verse, and if the latter could you name a few estimate costs for each animal?

How much for a goat IC?
>>
>>3178291
I started on pigs as a wee lad, and they are terrifying. I do cattle, swine, and goats funnily enough now for the dollar. Occasionally we have weird shipments like one time a guy wanted a blood floor of sheep he brought in slaughtered.

In character, considering the various the world of Worm faces, probably a little more costly. Average hog is about $5-6 hanging weight depending on state (higher east coast) in the real world. That roughs out to about $950 a whole hog, and $500 a half. Cattle is rarely sold whole, since you make more separating the cuts. Whole cut when ordered can be about $2500, half cut being around $1200, and quarter cut being $650.

I'd say add $200 to each.
>>
>>3178280
Differs on Shard power type, energy, and the manner of consumption. Alabaster's shard continually went through its power circuit, until you basically voided it. Made a much more satisfying meal.

>Cape train with Corrosion.

You ask some of the idle hands around to set up some targets and sandbags for you and Corrosion to smack around.

He and his cohort of shadow-men stand in a cluster behind you, and he starts to say. "So uh. What exactly do you wan-" You interrupt with flinging a sandbag pinched between your claws at him. It flops into him with a thump.

"Ouch. What was that for?!" He says, raising his voice. His ghosts chitter and shift behind him angrily.

"Corrosion, Steve. If I was a skinhead, that would be a bullet, and you would be dead. This is to prep you for when we patrol tonight. Hold that anger, it'll keep you alive. Why didn't you have your ghosts swat it out of the way?" You speak sternly and with conviction.

He gives you the look of a man finally coming awake.

"You're a cape now Corrosion. This is real, men die, men shit themselves, and men cry for their mothers while they try to hold their guts in. Don't let that be you."

You two begin a strange and macabre dance, where you take slow sweeping blows at him with the back of your claws, and he ducks and rolls away.

His ghost swarm you, their white hands and maws pierce your flesh and cause the wounds to R̵̨̨̰͙̞̫̱͆͂̓̓͠Ǫ̸̺̱̞̠͐́̋̃̐͢͡T̢̞̙͇̠͓͚̒̃̿̐̎͌͠͞.

The Hunger grows, but your wounds fight to seal shut as they grow pus filled and black.

You see Red.

You smash one into the ground, crushing its skull with a stomp. It becomes mist, and another springs to form beside Corrosion.

The tempo of the dance increases. Corrosion sends a shade to the far end of the field you have created, and just as you grow near to him ; he falls into the ground, a puddle of pitch. The shade rises in his place, which you dispatch with claw slash. Turning around you see Corrosion standing in his Breaker form dripping with rot with a fresh Shadow-man in the spot of the previous one.

Cresendo.

He balls his hands and slings black slime at you, which you dodge heartily. The pain you previously felt is one you do not wish to feel once again. Closing the distance with a pounce, you hover a claw near his throat.

Bravo.

Corrosion is panting and sweating bullets as the rot-form slides off him.

"Well done man. We'll make a cape of you yet. Let's get some fucking food and drink" You say as you ball your bladed fingers to do the approximate of a back pat.

>All Injuries and Hunger received in training are refunded.
>>
>>3178340
Dark vision yes- very much so.

Swimming, you can swim faster than an average man due to your longer limbs. However due to your fingers being long blades, and strange weight distribution it's not as efficient as it could be
>>
>>3178378
Well here's an idea to improve swimming speed.

I mean to be honest I wouldn't be against do another wack on one of their Storehouses, specifically Warehouse 1. I was thinking we could do this stealthy like, killing Hookwolf from the inside out and using the same method for the guards so we can haul ALL of their stuff.
>>
>>3178449
>We're going to scout the Empire locations we got from Cricket, see what their situation is.
>Send 5 men to each location (only 3 will go with Wendigo and Corrosion)
>The remaining 22 men will stay back in the Graveyard, ready to move out if anyone calls for backup.
>>
>>3178456
No, that was a joke (Meddles mentioned that Abaddad likes "Art")
>>3178460
I wouldn't take out an Empire cape so early; they're still a good buffer between us and the ABB and Protectorate.
>>3178461
Adding to this:
>We take only small arms like handguns, nothing that would make too much noise. This is a scouting mission, not an assault.
>>
>>3178456
I hope not, that would be a great waste of your momentum and surprise.
>>3178461
>>3178460
All targets that were previously given are open.

You know the Stronghold to have 60 armed members, and to be a general planning area for the Empire, it's a Medhall public relations building as a front. Capes come and go, but 3 remain for calls and support.

The Warehouses are general storage of drugs, capes unknown due to Cricket's abscene creating a gap in rotations.

The safe houses are places where members and capes gather out of costume to relax, bars, etc.
>>
>>3178461
wait what, the Empire has 6 locations?
>>
>>3178467
The 2 unhit warehouses from the last threads, 2 new ones, the 3 safehouses, and the stronghold would yield 8 locations to hit for them. The ABB locations are general guesses but it wouldn't be that hard.

Coil? Who's Coil?
>>
>>3178470
>8 locations
I think I'll stay with 6. I want a reserve of at least 20 (a good number) people we can distribute anywhere.
>coil
stop tempting us meddles, we both know there's nothing we can do about coil and his uncanny nose for trouble
>>
>>3178481
I guess scouting sounds good as it'll ever get. I think we should focus on the w unhit warehouses, the two new ones and a safehouse. No onned to stick out noise in the Stronghold just yet.

>>3178470
I still want to hit up a warehouse. Maybe after determining what we see we could take a few SUV's. Max 3. We'll have 3 people in each SUV.
Hmmm. Yeah. 3 SUV's. 1 skilled merchant leading 2 Moderate Merchants. Each merchant gets a melee weapon of their choice and a standard firearm.

What is the distance limit of Corrosion's "teleportation?"
>>
>>3178481
So as I understand, scouting mission in order to pick a target?

Throwing an idea out there. After we're done with this day, we could leave a minimum of one of Corrosion's shade's at the Boat Graveyard in the event of an emergency.
>>
>>3178464
A little late man. You maimed Rune, and removed her powers, Cricket's mind has been broken, Stormtiger and Alabaster have both been CONSUMED. All in the course of a few days

To be honest, Kaiser has been shifting between manic bloodthirsty rage, pulling his hair in stress, and shuddering in fear these past few days.
>>
>>3178506
He's in a bad place, yes, but he should still have Hookwolf and Purity, his big powerhouses, so he's still useful to us. Now of he lost one of them, it would be a vastly different story.

>>3178506
Listening to some Dark Souls and Bloodborne really puts me in the mood for this quest. Speaking of Cricket what're we gonna do with her?
Also is Jimmy from the First (second) thread the same as Ricky from the thread after? It got me a little confused since you used the same crack head.

"Gentlemen, I want you all to group up. One man to drive, and 2 to tag with. That should leave around 20 of you here" You motion Red over with a 'come hither' gesture. He brings out a map while the men busy themselves making their groups

"We're scouting out the Empire right quick. You're gonna drive around the block a bit. Scope the place out, see who's leaving and shit. When you get a good idea, call me and lay it out. I want general headcounts, s entrances and exits, and capes." Red say as he steps forward and addresses the scouting crews.

"When we determine the best target, we will regroup. The we will rain down on these skinhead fucks like the fist of God. You know why?" You say, holding your hands up to the sky.

"NO ONE FUCKS WITH THE MERCHANTS!" Responds the chorus.

"Damn straight, now the groups checking the safehouses. Corrosion here will be sending his ghosts with you to get some better eyes on. Now get to it, we're killing time!" You finish, and the members of your posse rush to the SUVs, guns in hand. The 20 left still stand looking at you.

"Now we wait."

>Safehouse 2- An apartment building (Ghosted +40)=116. 30 Armed men seen through windows. One main foyer entrance, but several fire escapes. They seem on edge. The ghost went through the rooms and found that the entire building is clear of any civilians, only wife-beater, red-suspender, jackboot Empire 88 remain. Some drugs and money were in a safe in the "manager's" office. Guards armed with light rifles and pistols
>Safehouse 3- Auto Shop (Ghosted +40)=134 Extremely quiet, only about 10 members, some staying the night, a few are actual workers. It seems to be a place for Empire to improve their cars for fast getaways, drug hiding hol- oh wait there's an arm's shop in the basement. "Holy shit the ATF would not like this kind of arm's shop"-says Corrosion
>Warehouse 1- Dog fighting ring ran by Hookwolf generally, Money=83 Pretty slow night all things considered for Hookwolf, his fights tonight seemed to have drawn a crowd of only 50 or so people. They have one of those stereotypical "knock, they open the peephole and let you in doors" Safe to assume many will be armed. All may not be Empire members, but all seem to enjoy a good dog fight
>Warehouse 3- Arms, Drugs=60- 20 armed men, alongside Crusader and Krieg
>Warehouse 4- Arms, Drugs=14- "Holy Fuck Red! Empire's got a new motherfucking cape. We did a second turn around the block and this brolic motherfucker started lighting up the back of the car, that cocksucker threw a right cross and sent a fucking explosion. We coming back!"
>Safehouse 1- The Running Wolf Bar (Ghosted +40)= 68- 30 or so drunk men and women, some could be armed. It seems to be more of a "if you're white you can drink here" rather than a "race war now" kind of vibe. The ghost notices a couple sitting in the corner, given a wide berth by everyone.
>>
>>3178550
Squealer will appreciate Safehouse 3.
We'll also have to reclaim Warehouse 4's cape to teach Kaiser not to recruit new capes.
I recommend we attack Safehouse 3 and send ghosts to Warehouse 4.
>>
>>3178551
>>3178550
Safehouse 3 would be a sure shoot good choice, followed by safehouse 2? If not I guess I'd be down for hitting up the warehouse with the new cap, but we would need to plan something out with the others before me make a hit.

Are we planning to hit them today, or after a few days when we've consolidated enough resources? Because I for sure want to do Safehouse 3 today.
>>
>>3178553
I also want to do Safehouse 3 today, but wait for a few days to hit Safehouse 2.
>>
>>3178553
The shortness of the scouting mission means you can do an attack tonight. I'm gonna weigh on the side of wisdom here, and wait for more voters however. I need some sleep for my posts to have any semblance of quality.
>>
>>3178550
ah shit forgot to ask but did we take any losses when we raided warehouse 3? I remember that group of 5 we found with Rick inside the warehouse and them mentioning the others were scattered inside.

>>3178555
good night
>>
>>3178556
You had Rick take a shot to the leg. Skidmark and Squealer occupied the guards outside while you pimpslapped Cricket and Alabaster. All said and done it was over in about 5-6 minutes.
>>
>>3178490
Conquest is often referred to and interpreted as Pestilence, so we probably won't have that name in our team if Mr Un-Clean decides to adopt that persona. He could also be Death, as his powers are inimical to biological life and allow him to literally kill with a touch.
>>
>>3178550
i vote we hit Safehouse 2 and Safehouse 3
>>
>>3178550
>ostracised couple

This is interesting. They could potentially be VIPs, which would explain why people are afraid to get close. We could easily go discreetly and find out who they are.

We could also hit one of the Empire's businesses to inflict maximum economic and logistical damage, in which case the dog-fighting ring and the arms-shop are good candidates. We can also target another Cape; with enough casualties, gang morale will crumble and recruits will be scarce, both of which don't bode well for Kaiser.
>>
>>3178782
I think we should take #2 and see a few days later if there's increased traffic at #2. This could give us an idea of how many safehouses are in the same region; if there are only a few, there would naturally be more skinheads at #2.
Of course, this assumes that these two safehouses are somewhat close together; if they're not then disregard my suggestion and support this anon.
>>
>>3178790
>hit 2, see if there's more traffic at 2
How the fuck did that happen?
I meant to say we hit #3 first.
>>
>>3178782
Not much point hitting 2; all we'd be doing is killing more thugs for a safe of chicken-feed. We want to hit them where it REALLY hurts, and we do that by destroying their economy, taking out their enforcers, and ultimately decimating their authority and security.
>>
>>3178808
I see you're a man of taste. An improved work station for vehicles and weapons for Squealer to work with and additional finances to use towards the boat home.

>>3178845
That is essentially what we are doing by picking 3 and 2 I think. We're messing up their economy by taking from them, and shitting on their doorsteps by having the balls to raid them.
>>
>>3178550
>Safehouse 3
>>

>>3179314

>>3179420
He made bets for a living? That'd explain the dude or dudes that were after him, the poor guy. Who's after him anyways?
>>
>>3178435
I don’t believe we’re death, considering our namesake and the way our Abbadad shard works.

Wonder what our other bros powers are going to be.
>>
>>3179506
Well we are most definitely Famine, and Corrosion seems to be Pestilence/Conquest. So the remainders are War and Death. War will probably be someone who can control people to make them fight each other and Death will likely have some power to cause people to just die or feed and grow stronger off of the death of sentients or death in general. I mean if they grow stronger based off of death itself then the death of micro-organisms would boost him sky high from day one.

But considering we dont have the power to inflict people with hunger or starvation, their powers could be very different from what I am guessing. War might just be a cape who gets stronger by how many people are engaged in conflict around him within a certain radius. Death, still hard to pin down.
>>
>>3179539
Corrosion is most likely Pestilence, given that his powers can only weakly be connected to conquest (Master power over the ghosts). I would expect Conquest to be a pure master.
>>
>>3179539
What if Lung was War?
>>
>>3179571
Unlikely. He was a natural trigger and triggered well before we did. I don't think Meddles would make him of all people an Abaddad cape.
I'm guessing it'll be four OC horsemen.
>>
>>3179582
Guess we'll habe to wait and see.

Later maybe tomorroe, I think we should do some bonding with Corrosion (forgot his original name) by beating up the people who were originally after him.
>>
Yal think Squealer has Skidmark's number? I'd like to get their opinions on the stuff we're doing. Sort of. Like asking for their counseling you know in case they think we might be biting more we can check or the consequences outweigh the benefits.
>>
>>3179776
I see what you're saying but I get the feeling he's out both because he doesn't want to be disturbed and becausr he wants to see just how well we can act in a leadership role when there's no one around to go to. I mean Squelers there but we're basically the same rank so that doesn't count. Feels like a trial by fire really. On that note you're all suprisingly chill considering just what the appearance of triggers based on the four horsemen from Abbadon could be foreshadowing here. Remember they're the four horsemen of "APOCALYPSE" and we're already talking about shit like eating fucking leviathon. Just think about it is all I'm saying.
>>
Driving home, consensus seems to be hit safehouse 3 first, then 2 if able. This will be do able, but will increase the chances of interference from other parties. Any objections?
>>
>>3179807
I'd rather not go for 2.
>>
>>3179802
Yeah that does seems like it. Skidmark leaving for the week and a half to both see how well we act as a leader and cuz he's the man with a plan. On that other note about Abbadad the apocalypse I think all of us on some level are already aware of what's been foreshadowed.
I'm still trying to figure out the lore and logic in the worm-verse, so that might also account for me not giving too many fucks at the given moment.

The idea is to surround the building, knock out, kill, etc the men inside, and grab the loot. Then rush to the apartment to go loud.
>>
>>3179905
The drive goes unimpeded. You all park your various vehicles around the blocks surrounding the car park. Red tucks the glowing Tinker pistol into his waistband, and pulls out a normal one. Corrosion enters his breaker form as he steps out.

The members of your party swarm around the building as you approach, blocking the exits.

You shadow-shift through the door, and see a Empire skinhead that has clearly just pissed himself.

"Good evening gentlemen," With a whip of a hand you gut him armpit to asshole. "We're here to take your shit, get on the ground and we may consider not murdering you."

>-20 HUNGER

A spot on the walls grows, as Corrosion's rotting form steps through. The wall quickly collapses, and in floods the deluge of angry Merchants.

The 15 men inside the Auto shop are quickly beaten, broken, and left tied. They would not spare any of your men, thus they are not gentle. Walking to the door Corrosion points out, you strain your claws underneath a solid iron door, and with little exertion you rip it from its hinges.

The men charge into the underground gun shop, and gawk like children in a candy store.

"Hurry the fuck up, we've got another spot to hit you retards!" Shouts Red. The few men that are fitting in the large basemen jump, and begin to load weapons, tools, and machinery into bags. Some had to be left behind, which Corrosion and yourself deny the enemy access to. Salting the earth is always a valid tactic.

Since no shots were fired, cops do not seem to be on their way, but an onlooker would definitely report this. It's time to move.

What we know:
>Safehouse 2- An apartment building (Ghosted +40)=116. 30 Armed men seen through windows. One main foyer entrance, but several fire escapes. They seem on edge. The ghost went through the rooms and found that the entire building is clear of any civilians, only wife-beater, red-suspender, jackboot Empire 88 remain. Some drugs and money were in a safe in the "manager's" office. Guards armed with light rifles and pistols

Did we manage to steal some of the Empire cars back at the shop? I sure fucking hope we did.

Is the rectangle a solid barrier like a brick wall or a fence around the apartment?

(Famine Actions)
>Grab a car and give a pitch
Holding action for Corrosion. Since there is only E88's here, let's toss a car in there. The one to the far left. We'll brutalize the guys at front while and break down the gate.

(Corrosion's actions)
I only count 3 ghosts. Pop in 1 more for a total of four? Send three in to start causing a panick and leave one outside as support for the Merchants outside and for a quick teleport if needed.

(Red actions)
Stay outside and shoot any Empires that come out, in the windows, any they come on scene, relay info to us. Stuff like that? Guess he should stay outside the rally the troops?

(Merchant battle groups.)
Find cover. I want at least three groups outside, and two to follow behind us to sweep through the place as we go through floor by floor. We know that he can see through his ghosts, but what we don't know is if Corrosion's ghost's can relay things that they hear back to him, but if the ghosts can then it'd be great if the one staying outside could inform us which floors the E88's are on as they fire back.

>>3180027
Corrosion can go up to three with no adverse effects, up to four locks him in breaker mode, five extends it's range to 8 feet away, he dares not go above that.

Hmm. Could any one of our battle groups get on top of one of the buildings for firing support? Now that I think about it, I wonder if it would be better to instead position a ghost on top of each of the buildings in the corners of the map so they could throw their sludge. Assuming they got decent throwing arms.

(traditional Merchant sendoff.)

Clasping your great claws around the car closest to you, you lift it above your head with simple raising of your arms.

You don't remember if you played football previously, but with a pullback that would make a professional quarterback proud, you launch the multi-ton vehicle flies over the wall, and lands atop a group of Empire soldier. They let out cries of agony right before an explosion shakes the block around you.

"Let's go! Leave nothing but rubble and ashes!" You surge forward to the men in front of you guarding the gate. The pepper your body with small arms fire.

You shudder as you feel your body begin to run and rot. Painful, yet numbing. With a wave of the hand, three surge forward, melting through the wall and the building. Upon seeing some empire goon playing cards and drinking at a table, they immediately ball their hands. The men die when your C̴̨̞͈̜͎̼̠͐̄̃̌̇͘͠h̪̗̣͔̳̆̈̉̾̎͟i̢̩͍̱̳̖͔̙͎̇̂̔̌́͋͘͢l̢̩̫̘̾̓͌̆́̚͜͟ḑ̢̛̼͍͚͚͙̳̬̓͗͡͡r̦̙͈͙̯̀̉̊͐͒̊̽͞ȩ̶̨̦͎͛̿͋̎͢͠n̜̻̭̹̜̹̟̫̟̔̐̽̀̌̕͜ push their clenched fists forward. (Merchant group #4- Footman Tommy Lee)

Famine lifts the car clear above his head. You doubted him at first when he showed up to the old place, but he has done nothing but win... with him leading you no-one will ever mock you again. The car explodes behind the wall. You hear Famine's deep rasp cry out "Let's Go! Leave nothing but rubble and ashes!"

He bounds forward, clearing yards in a blink of an eye. Two of the groups follow right behind him.

"Come on guys, we're going for a flank!" You yell to the Merchant's beside you. These men had been by you since you'd been kicked out of your home, and you would stand by their sides.

You round the corner of the car, and right after a few of the Empire goons standing there finish lighting up Famine, you feel like you were dipped in ice cold water. You noticed that some were facing your way.

You cough.

Mom why?

Famine - waste the guys who shot Timmy's group. Fucking barrel through them and break that gate. Let's get inside that building.

Corrosion - shot the guys that were at the front gate. If they are dead then shoot the guys at the windows?

Ghosts - in the apartment, send 1 to the group to the left and two after the group to the south. Block their path and to the upstairs and lay into them? For the one outside start firing into the E88's at the window. The group on the second floor to the left. I suspect RPG?

Merchants - scatter if you see an rpg? Else provide covering fire.

That’s honestly where I thought you were going. It’s a pretty ingenious idea overall; if we have a small crew working around the clock to fish, haul, and cook, we’d never really have to worry about food again.

And any surplus we could just sell on the regular market; make us not so entirely dependent on crime for income. And if it becomes a successful venture, we could actually set up some legitimate businesses and semi-legitimate ones to help launder our money.
>>
>>3181420
We just need to get strong enough to Consume Leviathan so he doesn't fuck up future ventures into fishing. I was thinking we get a single fishing hauler or whatever you typically use, and we could lay some crab traps that we could pick up later in the day or the next.

You surge up the stairs in leaps, when you hit the corner you merely jump to the wall and clamber across it in bounds. Reaching the top floor you see a lavish office room where five men grasp their weapons in terror. It means nothing.

Two fall to the ground headless as you shadow towards them, their bullets passing through you. Swallowing the pitiful morsels, you sink your jaws into their chest. Gore paints your deer-like skull red.

Blood drips from your fangs. Bullets enter your flesh without you caring. Raising your head.

You let the lambs know of their slaughter. "Ŝ̴̟̺͓̟̪̪̝̗̺̭̌̈̇͊̌C̢͎̗̺̝̦̯̭̙̍̄̓̏́͢͡͠Ȑ̷̨͖͉̤̀͒͑̿̕̕͢͡͠͡Ề̵̢̡͈̥̟̦̜̺̎̾̕A̛̼̯͓̗͛͑̃͘͟͢͡M̨͖͈͎̣̦̊̇͗̌̿͜͜ͅ Ṱ̛̤̥̭̣̞̩̮͒̽̎̕͝Ô̶̡̯̖̞̮̪͙̺͛̆͑̑̔̈́͆͞ͅ B̷̹̦̖̏́̎̏̏͢͢͝Ȩ͙̥͇͓̇̍̾̊̇̈̓̉͘͘͢͜ Ĥ̸͖͍͕̪̭͈̩͆͋̏́̏̿͢͟Ḗ̮̮͇͕̙̤̩́̑̒͗̉͒͢ͅȂ̧̰̖̤̦̬̀́̒̈̆̕͜͟R̵̡͇̝̯̩̠̙̖͇̒̈͂̔̀͆͝͝ͅD̶̛̘̪͔͖̖͙͙̙̮̿̐͑̿̿̚͝"

They trembling men comply. You barrel through the remaining three in a single rush, crushing chests, snapping limbs like twigs, scything your claws through the air with a reaper's rage.

Some of the men still scream as you dig your snout into their tender underbellies.

>Rage has ended.

"Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck-" Is your mantra as you rush to the building. You hear Red yell at you as you pass him pulling a screaming Merchant away from the crumbling building.

"Corrosion, get fucking Famine man! PRT and Empire are gonna be crawling over this place like flies on shit, I'm gonna get the boys to gather up and get ready to bolt. Hurry man!"

You push through the walls, further eroding the buildings framework, and inside what awaits you is a scene from a horror movie. The first floor has the desiccated forms of 10 men behind a table, stripped of all life. You push to the second floor, which is crawling with fire. The walls are splattered with boiling blood. Claw marks and destruction show Famine's path to the top-floor.

Rounding the corner of the stairs, you find a once pretty office torn asunder, painted with the colors of human death. You see Famine's hulking form, his back turned to you; He's crouched over a corpse that is rapidly ceasing to exist.

You can see a atrophied left arm, at least 3/4's the size of his right, and a hole in his chest that is quickly filling with bones and being covered in flesh. For a second you see the writhing worms of his muscles link together and join.

"Famine... We've got to go man, I'll grab the loot." You make your way to the destroyed desk, and freeze when Famine's skull-like head snaps towards you.

His eyes glow with a piecing red light, and they slowly fade. He nods slowly, and looks around the room around him in waking horror.

"I... did this?"

You continue to the desk, and root around until you find a large suitcase. "Listen, Famine; we need to go now. Existential crisis non-withstanding."

He shakes his head, and charges the wall. With a great crash he barrels through it, and jumps to the street below.

Having dropped your Breaker form, you grasp the suitcase tightly. Sinking into a dark puddle in the floor, you emerge out in the street where one of your ghosts once stood.

The street is filled with the fleet of vehicles everyone arrived in. Red is ushering the men into their cars and yelling.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE AND BACK TO THE HQ, DITCH ANY FUCKIN' HEAT YOU GET. APPLY FUCKING PRESSURE TO THAT WOUND YOU RETARD!"

Red guns the engine as soon as you and Corrosion are inside. The car's tires squeal as they fight for traction. Screaming down the pavement, you see the building consumed in flames behind you.

"All things considered... that wasn't that bad." Says Red with a sigh.

He slams on the breaks as a PRT truck flies past the alley he was about to come out of.

"Thank god we got out of there when we did, another second and we would have had to fight our fucking way out."

You close your eyes as the truck shudders and shakes from turns and potholes. You can hear Corrosion counting the money across from you.

"I'm getting fucking drunk." You announce to the truck.

"Care if I join?" Asks Corrosion.

"Not at all."

Red speaks up from the front. "Y'all making plans? You better be counting in your friend Red."

"Sure thing man." You say.

"We're gonna get some fucking Bulleit Whiskey then. And maybe some Jager." Red says.

"Jager is trash and you know it." Pipes up Corrosion.

The rest of the ride is filled with the resulting "civil" discussion on the various virtues of different alcohols.

Better use of perspectives, OP. Know it must be harder to churn out overall, but the more lengthy, extensive POV's do really help.

So, if the third d20 was for a hasty escape, what were the odds we'd encounter the PRT (seeing as we still only narrowly avoided them with that 20)? Any Capes?

>DAY 3 BEGINS
+20 Hunger

Hangovers... hangovers are a thing of the past. The funeral/party of last night was one to be remembered. Eulogies were said, and the men were pushed out into the bay in cardboard tombs. Then the excess began.... Corrosion was useful by having his ghosts hold drinks for you. You vaguely remember eating $100 worth of chicken fingers.
Becoming cape has changed everything. You rise from your bed, and walk through the ship. Mourning is short for the Merchants, those that die know what they died for.

You climb the stairs to the Bridge, where Squealer has a 4 barreled gun on a mounting. She flicks a switch, and its glows intensely and spins. She writes on her notepad, and looks up at you.

"Good work last night. That sent a clear message to the Empire and the city as well. Skidmark is pleased with how you've been doing."

"5 men died last night..." You say forlornly.

"And that was not due to you; you led fucking fine. Our normal losses are far higher. They knew what could happen when they followed you, no one forced them." She barks out strictly. Your mind lifts from the gloom.

"We're gonna have to lay low for the next couple of days, build up a bit more before lashing out anymore. If you want to go out and wreck shit you, it's gotta be solo."

"Alright then, I was thinking about a way of getting some food for the men-" She cuts you off.

"If you have any tinker requests, take it to the boys in the welding yard, I'm gonna focus on this thing till the afternoon. I'm almost done." She says, slapping her hand on the multi-barreled Tinker device.

Try and see if we can get that crab (or just general fishing) idea off the ground. With just a small operation, it's not really all that high risk, and it's not like we're expecting anything but volunteers for the work. Maybe offer hazard pay for those willing to work?

GODDAMN IT SKITTER.

>Terrified Skittering
I started running in the mornings. Safest time of the day. I try not to get to far from the house, with what is basically an all out war brewing between the E88 and the Merchants. Sometimes I wander a bit far though, running while thinking can make you forget where you're headed like that.

I stop and look around... The Boat Graveyard. The thousands of little lights of life drift around me, a nest of bees there holding tight in the winter, a colony of cockroaches in a dumpster. It's a strange safety net. I kick a rock down the road.

"Hey kid, piss off!"

I jolt in surprise. A man in baggy jeans and a run-down military coat had just shouted at me.

"Listen brat, get the fuck out of ere!" He holds a spray can in his palm, and behind him on a shipping container is scrawled the massive M sign of the Merchants.

I ran for my life. No more running north, maybe I'll head to the Boardwalk tomor-SLAM

"Ouch... jeez kid, watch where your going." A slender, strange looking man says as he rubs his head.

"Oh I'm so sorry! I was just running and this Merchant guy yelled at me, and I was just so scared." I babbled out. I offer him a hand and he takes it.

"Ah... so that's why you were running like a bat out of hell?" He dusts off his faded suit, and fixes his hair. He picks up a small paper bag from the ground. "Fugly Joe's On the Go!" It reads.

"Listen kid, don't you know the Boat Graveyard is dangerous... Keep a closer eye on where your running."

"I'm sorry..." The words die in my throat as he walks back the way I was running from. "Did you not hear what I said?! There's Merchant's that way!"

He turns back, and waves his hand. "Run along, it's rude to pry." I continue to jog down the street.

Using my bugs, I sense him as he approaches the man that was spraying the symbol. I hear him as he says "Hey Rick, did a girl come by this way earlier?"

"Yeah, Steve. I told her to clear out. Not that worried, just seemed to be some girl out for a jog."

The suited man huffs a sigh. "Ugh... Well I should let Famine know that we have some people prying in. May want to put up some fences. Here's your burger by the way."

"Ah thanks man, been tagging all morning without anything. How much was it?"

The suited man shakes his head "It was no trouble, we help each other out. Ain't that right?"

"Damn straight." The jacket wearing man goes for a fist bump, while the suit wearing man goes for a handshake. They both heat up in embarrassment, and Steve quickly walks away.

It may be worth to do some looking into the Boat Graveyard once you get your suit finished.

You approach Red and some of the boys down at the welding station.

"How does our food situation look Red?" You ask?

"He cocks his head at you oddly "Well nobody is starving, we generally have a pot of soup going somewhere always, except for celebrations and whatnot. People can always grab some grub with what they have in their pockets."

"I have a strange craving for some seafood..." You lay out the plan to the men working away. Many are ex-seamen who fell in with the Merchants when shipping and fishing collapsed. Their eyes light up in joy when you propose the idea of making some traps and finding a seaworthy vessel to lay them. It takes them a good portion of the morning, the bright light of the welders going away. One of them goes with you to find a small craft that is not too decayed.

It's a work of beauty, shielded from the elements all these years in the shadow of a greater freighter, like a altruistic sister protecting its younger. You think you see a tear in Red's eye when he sees her.

Several hours are spent rigging up the ship to be safely hitched and pulled to drydock. The men swarm over the vessel like ants, working away at the engine, and spooling steel cable.

Red cracks a bottle of Hennessy on her stern as she is pushed out to the bay. The men cheer in delight. To be honest, you were not surprised at all by their vulgarity in the naming of the ship.

>Crab Fishing lvl 1- The M.S.S. Pube Pincher can gather enough crabs to feed a majority of the Merchants at the moment. The change in diet is a cause of celebration for many of the men. The morale boost of doing something not illegal is noticeable, crab duty is the one of the most bidded jobs as of now.

Basically yes... jk, Lvl 1 is just to signify that it is off the ground and operational. Several of the men want to repair more ships and actually fish as well. Actions can be used to do this, or it will progress gradually. Lvl 2 would be an surplus of crabs (assuming your population doesn't increase that much). Savy?

Also apparently Skitter saw a methhead tweek out on bus when she was 11, thus her anti-drugness. Also the whole rumor that Merchant's forcefully addict kids. (Empire propaganda. Skidmark- "Can't fuck with kids man, everyone knows that. Plus it's bad for business.)

>>
You see Steve walking about the ship after you had helped the men set up the crab trapping program. You wave him over.

"Hey Steve, I'd like to thank you for helping me last night. I think I would have had a much harder time snapping out of it had you not been there."

He slaps your back and crack a grin "Hey buddy, consider it even. I think I'm getting this whole Merchant thing." You let out a chuckle at that.

"What? The idea that we're not all monsters?"

"Well... you know, the media doesn't go around saying the Merchants are one of the two actual organizations that house and feed the homeless in Brockton Bay. The other being the Salvation Army."

You and him walk and talk. A group of Merchants sitting around a jury rigged TV call you over.

"Corr- I mean Steve, Famine, come here. Football's on mates!" You all gather around, Steve taking a seat on a couch that looks like it was left out in the rain once upon a time. You crouch on a bean bag chair.

"Did Squealer hook this up?" Steve asks.

The Merchant smiles a grin, showing a mouth missing a few teeth. "Nah, she hooked up that generator, and ran the electrical systems. We had to figure out how to steal somebodies cable, and get the voltage all good so it wouldn't explode." He pulls out a blunt, lights it, and begins to pass it. When it reaches Steve, he seems hesitant at first. Then he looks around at the people looking at him, almost expectantly.

"Well... when in Rome?" He says right before he takes a drag. He spend the next 3 minutes coughing while the Merchants around him howl with laughter and clap.

"Bite off more than you can chew mate?" Says the Merchant that called you over, he hands Steve some water before changing the channel on the TV.

"-egarding last night's attack by the Merchant's on two Empire safehouses, led by the cape Famine, what should be on the lookout for in these upcoming weeks Agent James?" A woman in a red dress is speaking to a man in a black suit, with a small id card attached to his pocket that reads PRT PR.

"Well Janet, this is extremely troubling for the PRT and the BBPD Gang Division. With the Merchant's taking direct attacks on Empire soil, we fear that any retaliation that the Empire makes will only be even moreso bloody. The problem people don't realize is that the Merchant's are much more than a gang, they host parties, funerals, things of that manner. While they have a small number of boots on the ground members, especially compared to the soldiers of the Empire, they have an extremely large population of buyers, affiliates, and supporters. Even if you attack where they are hiding out, or shoot one of their dealers, Skidmark immediately will have a new one on the corner the very next day. While they prey on the rampant drug usage and unemployment in the Bay, they also shelter it. They have created a pseudo-culture of no-choic-" The man is cut off as the Merchant changes the channel. He cracks open a beer can as the third quarter of the game starts.

Would it be plausible to assume that other bearers of Abbadon shards would be immune to such traumatic experiences? Beyond us being special, it would make more sense that the Horsemen would have something of a shared connection, beyond us just being Brothers, so to speak (e.g. Corrosion's ability to calm Famine down, which even if based on a roll, no one has has had to opportunity to do even outside a dire situation). Even if unclear, we all have a shared goal in the eyes of our Father.
