Niph finally woke up as she laid on LeFays bed. It was to her recommendation that Niph sleep there, and it was obvious that she barely uses it, opting for her reading chair in the corner. Currently LeFay was laying on the chair with a book replacing any teddy bear the girl would have. Niph just passed her over and started to wander in search of a kitchen.

As Niph traveled the place, she noticed just how wealthy this place was. There were paintings of people who kind of looked like LeFay, likely her ancestors. Each of them wore some type of belt which only reminded Niph of the families history as hunters.

As she traveled through, you start to wonder something. Even with her family so rich, why did she only carry the staff into the nest. Her father for sure must have tried and give her the tools to defend herself.

Niph finally found the kitchen, a small fireplace with a table for cutting food. What else was there but an oven top! Standing there though LeFay’s father, “Hello there, you wanting some breakfast little one?”

Niph nodded her head with a, “Nn”

“Well take a seat, I’m making some buckwheat pancakes to eat. I’ll be getting my daughter once they are ready.”

Niph just tilted her head a little bit so the man came to the realization, “You’ve never had pancakes, have you?” Niph shook her head, “Well then you can try them today. They are somewhat of a nibility thing. I can make them because of my cooking counter here.”

Niph went upstairs to see LeFay, but as she was heading up an explosion seemed to rock the place. Niph was now running towards the explosion, running through the library with books scattered about into what seemed to be some medieval laboratory.

Laying on the ground next to the remains of a smoldering table was LeFay. Niph quickly rushed over, casting a healing spell on LeFay as her father came in with some health potions.

“Well little one, still trying to cast [Fireball] again I see?”

“I WAS SO FUCKING CLOSE!” She screamed in pain.

“Well you shouldn’t cast what you are not powerful enough to wield.” The big man lifted her up from Niph, “Now come along, you need to rest. I’ll put some books next to you.”

Niph walked in with the man as he placed LeFay on the bed. He fed her some potions and went to get some books.

LeFay, now recovering from her limbs being the wrong way, looked at a suprised Niph, “Sorry about that. Being a Wizard means risking your life sometimes. I thought I had it when I woke up, but then I couldn’t contain the blast.” She turned to Niph, “Don’t mind me today, you can head out. Though I might not be ready to head out for another day since my bones are bending back.” She chuckled a little bit at that.

Niph thought for a moment, maybe she needed to help this girl. She was obviously trying her best, “I’ll be heading out and grab some things for you. You need equipment.”

LeFay looked at you weirdly, but just shrugged her shoulders, “Maybe I do. If you can get me some ink while your out, I need some for my spell book. The money for it is on my dresser.”

Niph ran over and grabbed the money before heading out.

Niph found herself infront of Fisherman’s Arms once again. As she walked in the owner gave a laugh, “So you survived the Goblin, Girly. Take it the Antidotes did the job?”

“Nn” Niph nodded her head, “I need somethings.”

She placed a list on the man’s counter, letting him look it over.

“Thats quite a lot of fire your bringing. You planning to burn them alive now?”

Niph was shook her head, “For our Wizard. Can I get a deal?”

“Yeah, sure! This all together will be about 15 GP.”

Reaching into her pocket Niph brought out the money. They traded and NIph was back on her way to LeFay’s.

It seems to be midday as she returns to the house.

As Niph came in LeFay was flipping through her book. Dropping the equipment off, LeFay didn’t really pay much attention as he flipped through the pages, but one would kind of expect that from someone whos still having their legs reconfigure themselves.Niph will just need to show what she bought tonight.

Deciding now was a good time, NIph went to the guild and participated in another of the training sessions. This time around the man was demonstrating what was in a Thieve’s Tool Kit and what these things were used for. Stuff like lockpicks, string, and hammers were all things a person learning the tool kit could use to create and disable traps or open doors when they were in the way.

As the night fell onto the town, you think about your mission. If Niph was to finish you’re mission of Genocide, she might lose her way in the rage and vengeance. Committing Genocide, even if it’s being done to a race that is a stain on this world, can lead people down a dark path. As such, Niph can’t be doing it just for revenge. So maybe she should learn something different, moarning.

“Hey Niph we should, uh, go visit the church tonight. I think its time we pay your family their proper respects.”

The two of you travel to the south side edge of the city. As you do, you notice the ornate wall that seemed to be more of a fortification than style. Beyond the wall you see the edges of a spire, a Cathedral.

The two of you walk through the gates with a feeling of welcome and peice. You were afraid that maybe Niph couldn’t cross, but she doesn’t even flinch. Actually her grip in your handel relaxes as if she is more at peace here.

As the two of you walk towards the open ornate doors, you see a plethora of golden beings standing on the wood work. They look to be warriors with great wings, Angels.

Walking in, the two of you see a series of pews that were empty at the moment with a man kneeling at the altar. In front of him was a closed casket with several Celestial Runes written upon it.

The man noticed your arrival, standing up from his kneeling. He was a moderate sized man dressed in simple black robes, different from the group that you saw earlier. He spoke in a kind tone his age showing, “Hello there, have you come here for healing or anything of the sort?”

Niph started to get a little nervous but you decided to reassure her, “Don’t worry Niph. You can ask him.”

She gave a nervous gulp and straightened herself, “I-I came to see if I could ask for the blessings of the g-gods.”

The man approaches you, studying the Niph for a moment for a moment before furrowing his brow, “You are already blessed by the Gods though. What is it you seek from us?”

“I want you t-to see if I c-could have a prayer for my M-mama and Papa.”

“Mmm, I see. Do you by chance have any articles of theirs? Something like a watch or ring?”

Niph just shook her head at that.

Just man just gave a sigh, “That is a pitty.” The man went over and sat on one of the pews, “Come over here and sit. What was your family like?”

“They were kind, sir. We lived on the frontier, papa would go hunt for mama and me. They would play with me and they loved each other very much sir.”

“How did they die, child?”

“Goblins. They were attacked by the blight and they were too many for both Papa and Mama.”

“How did you make it into the town. I have only heard of a couple exterminations and the guild assured me the past four were the only ones.”

“Nn, I escaped with someone’s help. He came in and saved me.”

“Where is he now?”

“He is taking care of me, uh, he told me to come in by myself though.”

“Then I bless the man who saved you from the creatures of Maglubiyet.”

“Nn”

You watch as the man thought for a moment, “By chance could you help me? I need your help Child. Its to, identify a body”

Niph looked at the man. The child has seen enough death in her life and you wish she didn’t need to see him, but she nodded her head.

The man lead them to casket at the altar, a simple casket with runes was all they spared for a nobody. Though that actually is a little heart warming they took the time for someone nobody knew.

“Are you ready, I am not forcing you Child. You can leave at any time you feel uncomfortable.”

Niph nodded her head.

The man raised the casket to reveal a man’s face. He was a middle age man with brunette hair and a scruffy beard. His face was hard and quite unattractive really, something that didn’t seem to translate to Niph. Actually, you remember Niph’s mother also had very black hair, as black as a void.

Before you could think more though, you see the tears well up in Niph’s eyes. In a swift motion, she gave you a monsterous hug as she tried to seek some comfort within your chassis. Tears seem to stream as the man closes the casket.

The man kneeled down to her level and patted her shoulder, “I am sorry little one, but he is in a better place now. I will request Saint Cuthbert to bring his soul to the great mountain.”

The Priest guided Niph to the pews, letting her stay there for a time.

You never really had any experience with people who experienced lose. If anything you’ve never really known Niph for that long. But it hurts your heart to see her cry like this, “Its going to be alright Niph. Your father was a good man, but uh, he wouldn’t want to see you like this, right?”

“Nn.”

“Then, um, stand tall and accept what happened. You are alive and your father has gone to the afterlife. Live for him. Live so that this will never happen to anyone else ever again. You remeber our goal, right?”

“K-Kill all g-Goblins.”

“So stand tall Niph, because those bastards are everywhere. You are no longer doing it for revenge, but to do what is right.”

“T-thank you cha-chaost-Chaostear!”

“No, thank you for wielding me Niph. You are the best wielder a gun like me could have.”

She hugged you tightly for a time. After about an hour the two of you returned to LeFay’s to rest for tomorrow. For tomorrow you will be getting your next quest.

Its morning as Niph awakens in her room. Though LeFay was out yesterday, her father was able to clear out some room for Niph, even if there were crates threatening to crush her while she slept. To be honest though, there are much worse fates and your pretty sure the crates couldn’t finish her off at this point.

Niph gets up, going to the staircase to see LeFay walking out of her room.

Niph went ahead with a greeting“Oh, uh, good morning LeFay. Are you feeling better?”

LeFay just gave a smile, “Yeah, I feel much better. Though I can’t go and hunt, you wanted to go to explore town yesterday right?”

“Nn.”

“Then why don’t we head out. Are you new to Uateyalan?”

“Y-yeah, I was from the frontier.”

“Then I can show you around.” LeFay gave a cheerful smile to Niph. It seems LeFays warmed up nicely to Niph these past few days. She got a questioned look as she remembered something, “Though why did you buy all that oil for? We don’t need that much for cave exploration.”

Niph just shaked her head, “No, they are for you. You can’t cast that many spells so I thought you could throw oil at them instead.”

“Well, I guess that works. Though I read that a crossbow is effective for Goblin ambushes, I could get one while we are in town.”

Niph’s face became elated, “Nn! That would be great then! B-but can you use one?”

“Yeah, they taught us at the college. I j-just kind of… underestimated them.”

Niph just shook her head, “Its alright. A lot of Papa’s stories were about men killing them by a lot. I learned my lesson though.”

“Well lets have breakfast!”

The three of you have been walking for a few hours by now, wondering the city and LeFay explaining the locations and significance.

First she started with the docks. They are the main link between the town and the rest of the Moltland Empire. The town was founded about 40 years ago after the death of the Great Aboleth “Jazzu’m”. The one who slayed the creature decided that he would build a city on the battlefield with the beast. This lead to a mass migration over to the town and today it is mainly seen as the ‘capital’ of the Uateyalan State.

After that they visited the craftsman quarters which make up a majority of the city. People need tools to labour and weapons to fight the beasts of the frontier. As such Craftsmen were plentiful in this city and they crafted all sorts of things. It is said however that adventurers will sometimes import weapons from the Dwarven States, it is just too far without a massive income to bring such an item over the entire empire.

They followed through the quarters of nobility that was fairly close to LeFay’s home. They were not very big, the area housed the State Governor and some of the bureaucrats. It is also a place where wealthy adventurers sometimes retire to, though many prefer the safety of the Capital.

Soon they were approaching the southern portion of the city, the Church.

“Heres where the Galian Church is. You see most of the Empire believes in the Church and they hold the most power next to the Emperor. Here they mainly aid with keep the sick down and performing ceremonies for the dead. They have been… quite well off from doing those services.”

“Nn.”

As they went around the Church, there standing at the gate was a person wearing some pretty tough armor. He looked to be about 17 and searching for something.

As the two nodded to him, he stared wide eyed at Niph, “H-hey! Can I talk to you for a moment!”

Niph turned around to see the man, “Hmm? So you need something sir?”

“You are the person who saved saved a group of girls from Goblins a few days ago, yes?”

Niph just nodded her head at the man.

He knealt down at Niph’s feet at that moment, “Thank you ma’am! You see my sister was one of the people you saved a few days ago. She said a girl with white hair and red eyes was the first thing she saw. I asked the guild the moment she came home and I asked the guild who you were.”

He looked up to face Niph, “I went every day, but I found out you left to hunt more Goblins and I couldn’t help you. I want to repay my debt to you, can I be in your party!”

Both Niph and LeFay just blinked for a few moments. Of course you had a slight glint in your eyes, he was exactly what you wanted.

You gave Niph a push to accept, so she spoke, “Y-yeah. We were going to go hunting for Goblins tomorrow. Are you willing to purge their filth?”

The man looked up with a sharp angry glare, “Yes ma’am. They raped my sister, they will pay for that.”

“Meet us at the Guild hall tomorrow.”

“Yosh!”

And with that the man ran right back into the Church, leaving a stunned LeFay and a confused Niph.

It is becoming night as you two finish the tour of the town. LeFay seemed really happy about today, minus the bizarre paladin. The two of you just laughed it off, but of course this meant you two finally had someone else to join you in your quest.

As the night came, you wanted to check out the Guild Hall’s nightlife. Niph herself was a little curious as well, so they made their way to the hall.

Even as they approached, the sounds of lively chatter and merrying could be heard down the streets. Even as they approached, there were people chattering outside. LeFay was getting a little anxious, but the moment they heard the Music of the Bards that anxiousness went away. The music itself seemed magical, causing the worries and terror of the world to disappear as the night went on.

As the three of you walked into the door you noticed the sheer amount of alcohol being thrown around. It was surprising to see this many men drink their hearts even in bars from earth.

As the two of you took a seat, a quite handsome man came to thier table, “Here are the menus, tonight we are celebrating the death of the Burgiester Hydra so drinks are half off.” He went over and looked Niph up and down, “My apologies Madam, but you might be too young to drink.”

Niph gave his a stare of annoyance. She wasn’t planning on drinking as Papa always said it was dangerous, but Mama said it couldn’t do a thing to her, “I’ll take some beer, sir. I can handle my drink just fine.”

“Oh, uh, okay ma’am.” and with that the man ran away.

LeFay watched as the man ran, “Are you sure you should be drinking Niph, your so young.”

“Kufufu,” Niph went up to LeFay’s ears, “I’m immune to poison, LeFay. Mama said poisen can’t do a thing to me fufufu.”

LeFay just watched as Niph returned to her seat with a questioned expression, but at this point she decided Niph could take care of herself.

It was an hour later that Niph went through her 5th mug of beer. You always thought people would shy away from the stuff if they couldn’t get drunk, but you watch as with every sip Niph’s eye flared. Maybe it was a Succubus's affinity for visses, but she seemed to enjoy the taste all the same.

LeFay however was sipping on a glass of wine she had for the last hour while enjoying the Monstrous Boar roast they were sharing. It was strangely both gamey and gourmet as the two of them ate through the meal. It seems though even the meat of monsters is edible, maybe Niph should get a guide book on the edible meats.

As Niph finished her 5th beer one of the partying men came over, “Hey little girl. I see your quite the drinker.” The man was obviously buzzed as he spoke, “but I bet you can’t beat me.”

Niph just eyed him down for a moment, “Sure, I’ll try.” Her shildish smile turned devious, “I’ll beat you sir.”

Before LeFay could stop them, they were already 5 drinks into their fight. You were quite surprised at this man’s sheer constitution as they fought, but Niph proved to be the better drinker.

“Hey look! The kids beaten Gulliman!”

And with that a night filled with drinking competitions against Niph commenced. Every person seemed to fall against her demonic vitality, even someone who looked vaguely like a dwarf couldn’t beat her.

Soon people started betting, with LeFay taking the opportunity early to bet on Niph. While she was a little shy, she saw an opportunity to make money fast. By night’s end, LeFay made 200 GP, splitting it with Niph as they went back home.

As they left, almost all of the men, including the Bards, were on the ground groaning as they tried to beat Niph in the contest. There was also a missing sheet for a Goblin Slaying quest.

Niph and LeFay walked into the Guild Halls this morning seeing the carnage that Niph left in her wake. Even now, the Guild Attendees were kicking the men onto the street only for them to collapse onto the gravel.

NIph herself didn’t have the best morning so far. Yeah she didn't have a hangover like these men, she did however suffer from drinking way too much liquids. By the time she was awake she was already in the stall.

But as they came in through, there was a familiar face among the remains of yesterday. He was however upright, staunch, and seemed to be radiate the aura of discipline. This man was the person that approached them yesterday and at least he was on time.

The two of them approached, the boisterous man turning as soon as he noticed with a hand wave, “Hello there Miss. Niph!”

Niph just gave a short wave of the hand, “Uh, hello?”

The man looks at them for a moment before the sudden shock of realization hits his face, extending his hand in a greeting, “Oh! I never did say my name, its Hodar!”

Niph nodded her head and grabbed the man’s hand, her own being completely covered by it, “Nn, nice to meet you Hodar”

Once again Niph and her party is traveling through the northern fields. The north is is supposedly there most of the monsters reside, being part of the unclaimed lands. Of course this does not mean monsters are not seen throughout the lands, just that they are numerous enough to prove debilitating.

The request said the Goblins are living out of some an old elven homestead, reading the nearby villages ever since they claimed it. The building itself is not very well known, the owner dying about a year ago. It's been lost to nature and now the monsters have arrived.

As they approach the county where the Goblins reside, what do you wanna do?

AS you make your way to the village, you notice the fields are not being tended nearly as much as they should. Animals are, while many, pale in the amount close to the town. These goblins seem to have slow down the villages activities from what you could guess.

The three of you approach a small village as you notice the people moving about with a sort of gloom. When the people look up at Niph and LeFay their eyes flash with a little bit of hope, but then it's gone. Of course things start to get weird around Hodar, as people look at him with a kind warm acceptance. Maybe it's because of that feeling you and Niph get from the guy.

You notice a house that seems to have people coming in and out much more than the others while another has a forge right outside. There's also a place that seems to reek of alcohol, though its too small to be a tavern. Lastly, there's a small wooden church near the middle of the village.

The four of you approach the very active house, the sounds of complaining can be heard even half way there.

“What do you mean LEAVE! They are fucking Goblins, lets kill the fuckers!”

You watch as a middle aged man walks out of the house, tears streaming down his face. He catches sight of Niph, and instead of smiling he just balls.

You all make your way into the house, the villagers making way for Niph who is armed and ready to kill. Soon you come across a man in his later years, bulky and well built but obviously losing his strength.

He looks up at you, his eyes still red with the anger he had, “It's about fucking time you showed up.”

“Nn, we came to ask if you knew anything about the Goblins.”

The man looks at you quizzically, almost surprised, “Who the fuck sent me actually people with brains.”

He looks over you all, his expression finally breaking into sorrow, but there was a little bit of hope in them, “So the guild sent you guys as you don't feel like rookies. What's your name little girl?”

“Niph.”

“Well Niph, I can safely tell you where they are and what they’ve got. The bastards got themselves a few wolves ye see, that's why I can’t go kill them myself.” He brings out a map, placing it on the table, “Rights here's where they'd hiding, I just know it.”

His finger is on a place called While’s Cottage. The lettering is fancy and likely because of it being elves.

“Now they will raid us tonight like they always had. Normally about 3 Wolf Riders and 10 of their kin. Do what you want girly, just don’t mess this up and expand their horde.”

He takes you a little ways northeast of the village, the amount of animals and crops diminished rapidly the farther you get. You can see a shattered fence line that leads to the forest and corpses of sheep laying about.

“They’ve been attacking from the forest, where While’s old house was. First they’ve taken sheep and crops, just yesterday they’ve taken the Joseph family when they didn't heed my warning. I… couldn't kill the bastards in time.”

You and Niph look out to see a barren landscape to the east. There is barely any cover as the fields as any growth was violently stomped out. A little ways behind that you see a small house, but there's no sound except the complaining of unmilked cows.

Its not multiclassing, shes getting them as raw skills. Hell she can be taught stealth and all, just she can't sneak attack which isn't much of a lose against goblins you almost always oneshot.

Looking over the field, you figure there’s some things that could be adjusted and moved around.

To start with you had Hodar the Paladin fix the fence. He was strong enough to put pieces of it here and there, pushing them in and repairing what could be repaired. He was kind of sad when Niph had him blow out a piece of the fence, but once it was finished it looked like he just didn’t repair it, going right into the open field.

As for LeFay, she was running the cattle from the barns outside. With the death of the Joseph family, the animals were free game. She even drew blood on a few to increase the likelihood of the Goblins attacking them.

For Niph, she was busy fixing up the Cottage. The windows were boarded and the doors were reinforced as much as she could manage. She even had to… give a scent to the place as per LeFay’s advice. With that the Goblins would think the place had plenty of victims for them to kidnap.

They finished their work by dusk, the sun falling below the horizon. Looking out over the fields, there were about 3 cows and 8 sheep scattered throughout the place. The Fence was almost fully repaired, standing to 4 feet tall. The House itself would prove very difficult for Goblins to penetrate and was the main bait of this operation.

I'm thinking we draw them in and wait until they are all in to kill them. Have LeFay on top of the house to cast spells on the wolves to gib them first. Have Niph wait for them to come in before giving Magic Armor to pally and have him charge into the fray midway into the fight as she takes shots. Also, have her summon a creature to be another meat shield.

If bait, I'd recommend letting them all raid the house, torching it with the oil, then picking off the stragglers from concealed positions.
If a fortified position, I'd recommend posting up on the roof and putting down as much ranged weapon fire as possible.

Night falls as you, Niph and LeFay watch over the field from a range. The Paladin praticing his martial arts as he wait there.

LeFay was looking anxious as she looked over the area, “Hey Niph, do you have a b-bad feeling?”

“Nn. Like the one from the cave.”

The two of them watched over the area, their senses sharpened from experience. The Two of you watch from afar however as Hodar stops his swinging.

NIph was the first to notice, “What is he doing? Have they tripped the alarm LeFay?”

“N-no.” The two of them watch in horror as the man releases a battle cry and runs off towards the forest, “HODAR DON’T!”

He doesn’t seem to notice however as he charges head first out of thier sight. They wait there for a few moment as the sounds of fighting come to your ears. Growls of wolves and a death cry from a goblin later as the distinct sound of broken metal rings through the forest. After that, a man’s death scream.

Suddenly the alarm starts to blare into Niph’s ears as she sees three Goblins riding wolves rushing the Cottage

Watching the monsters coming so fast, Niph quickly summoned a Badger on the ground to meet them. LeFay tried to fire a crossbow bolt, missing the wolf she was aiming at. The Goblins ran towards the house as they started flinging rock at Niph and LeFay. Though most missed LeFay, one struck but gladly delt no damage.

The Niph watches as the hole starts funnling out Goblins, a head count of 9 as they blitz the fields. The Badger bite the heal of one of the wolfs, but the creature looked unfazed.

She once again took aim at the wolves to miss, LeFay however was able to stike a wolf, it going down with its rider being flung and crashes. LeFay however eyes the creature with suspicion.

The remaining two riders circle around the Cottage, firing more stones at our slayers. Only one stone struck LeFay, scratching her for 1 HP out of 6.

Once again Niph misses, turning to LeFay only to hear a load snap as her crossbow fails and rebounds, covering her in scratches and the machine is shattered. Niph and LeFay are once again belted by stones, but none of them seem to hit their mark yet.


The Badger once again bites into the Goblin’s wolves as they pass by, you watch as one of them is starting to limp a little.

The Goblins are 40ft from the house.

Niph watched over the Goblins coming over. They will swarm them and then capture them and then rape them. She cannot allow this to happen.

She took out a flask of oil and lit it. She pelted it onto the fields as the Goblins were coming up.

To her surprise, they dodged it.

Her horror started as the flame completely missed the Goblins and slammed into the shake. The Little bastards simply surrounded it with their beady little eyes. The two of you watch in horror as the wolf riders attempted to jump onto the roof, likely to save them from the fire.

Though that’s when the realization hit the goblins. If the fire burns up their toys, there won't be any fucking tonight.

The Sounds and burning smell of Goblins enters Niph’s nose as she grabs LeFay and jumps off the thatched roof, the flames consuming all that was in it. They watched as the creatures fell from the windows and died on impact.

The Wolf Riders however ran to the two, their feral smiles gleaming as they approached to sack both Niph and LeFay. Though LeFay started to chant as they got closer, and soon enough the goblins and one of the wolves dropped onto the ground in a tumble. Niph watched as the last wolf just ditched the Goblin and ran off into the forest, leaving his sleeping companions behind.

They were lucky on this time, but Niph knew one thing, they needed a few days after this Nest. Maybe a meat shield.

It seemed like a very simple plan, we just kept crit failing. Maybe a fighter or paladin as a main tank for us with a ranger as scout/backup tank. Neph is learning trap stuff and a ranger would scout and get a pet to help tank eventually. Actually maybe a Druid instead of a ranger, more pets and summons sounds awesome.
