Do we have an answering machine for our landline?

Board up windows while it wrestles with garage door!
Assuming enough plywood, kitchen>Living Room>all 1st floor windows>Bedroom window>Reinforce Garage door maybe?
If not enough, how much?

We can do that same move. Drops nails, bring plywood, drop plywood, get nails, etc.
Keep hammer and flashlight.
>>

And that's all folks.
Thanks for playing, I hope it was more Gumby than the last quest fufu!

If you have any feedback or questions, I'll be monitoring this thread in between playing smite with the boys.

If you liked the minimal amount of art in this quest, you should check out my accounts

It's all weeb shit and memes really, but I update my progress on CYOA's there too

https://www.deviantart.com/gumby-chan

https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=28231674

I'll probably run this quest again sometime. There are multiple endings after all :)
We'll see.

Thanks again for playing and or reading along. It's been a blast.

Thank you for playing!

>wow we suck.

I was kinda surprised by this, no offense haha.

I know a lot of people who play my quests have played my other quests before as well, and pretty much every single one of them has something terrible happen at the end.

So when I made this one with a countdown clock and a bunch of foreshadowing about how something bad would happen, I kinda expected you guys to do whatever you could to prevent it from happening.

But then again, I didn't really get the point across that meta-gaming was fine, and you didn't know what the hell was going to happen once you were at of time.

So I'll cut you guys some slack fufufu

I think you did alright for a first try.

When I run it again I expect you all to get a good ending now that you know what you know.
Do me proud.

Thanks for play again. It's been fun :)
>>
>>3157125
...
You don't know that
You don't know me!

There are other endings, some a lot better than others. This is about the worst one you can get really haha

We'll see if you can change your fate when I run it again :)
>>
>>3157148
I mean, it was very fucking obvious what this was about but the first guys that came to play were short on neurons. Then when the savvy people came we started tripping on each other and all went tumbling down. All in all, it was the normal Quest experience.
Thanks for running!

Where we encouraged to metagame that changed gears, but the urgency was still lacking. So that was 105 minutes kinda wasted. Still probably wouldn't have boarded up bedroom until after the emergency report. But I overthink.
Personally, like WHM before me, I am fairly incapable of acting out of character. I can, however, find IC excuses to act OOC.

>Considering it's a gumby chan quest, there was no happy end or it was a "happy end."
Hey, I saw one very important clue/item we overlooked that we will not be next time, if I have anything to say about it. Will it, and my not delaying our fleeing to our bedroom, we might have survived. Maybe. Probably not. But still, the path is there. Where it leads, wholeness might not follow.

>Where we encouraged to metagame that changed gears, but the urgency was still lacking

True.
But again, I feel like the literal countdown clock was enough in terms of "urgency"

Maybe it was too vague though.

I kinda expect to get the same group of players every time I do a quest(That's usually how it goes), so I understand if there was confusion on what the hell was going on and what the hell you're supposed to do if you haven't read the other stuff I've done. There's a lot of meta gaming in my quests(Whether I like it or not). And a lot of scary shit.

But if you didn't know about those quests, you were kinda in the dark.

I was just really trying to make this quest feel like there was something important about to happen since I failed miserably in my last quest by making it way too boring and long before the spooks happened.

Not enough spook, I thought, and not enough to go off of to keep people interested.

Thus, the countdown clock for this quest came about.
You Know something will happen.
And when it will.

Maybe not a great idea in hindsight, I admit it's pretty flawed, but it almost got the job done.

With some tweaking it could have worked a lot better, but this quest was kinda rushed out the door.

I might have done it differently if I gave myself more time.

I came up with the idea for this quest yesterday morning and posted yesterday afternoon
(That's why there's so little art)

So the script wasn't perfect, and stuff that I thought was obvious may have come of as vague and kinda weird.
And some of the ideas I had definitely didn't work exactly the way I intended them too.

I just really didn't want to repeat the same mistakes I made last quest, and I really wanted to get the bad taste of that fail out of my mouth.

But those are just excuses haha.

Next time I run it I'll try to make it more obvious from the beginning on what you can do and what you should do.

I still think this CYOA worked really well, by the way. Even if it did stumble a bit in the beginning.
And I think next time we run it back it'll go even better.

>>3157474

>I saw one very important clue/item we overlooked that we will not be next time, if I have anything to say about it.

Ah. Someone did catch on. Very observant
fufufu

I was going to switch up what items you can find next time I run this CYOA (Don't tell anyone)

But I'll leave that one in the roster

Just for you

:)

I hope you can save them

Ooh, I think I get what you're talking about. No, in fact, I'm pretty sure there's nothing else you could be referring to.
I'm already having some ideas, they might work even if the items get switched. The future is looking bright.

I want to encourage you to think, but not reveal.
Nobody should blurt out revelations.
So...
I'll be cryptic by telling you that until you can identify the possible dangers you may be facing, you cannot defend against them.
The above is advice, not a riddle.

I've reread everything around 5 times and the only things i saw us ignoring was the tv turning on and off hinting at the fact that we weren't alone from the start, the bat being a smarter choice of weaponry due to its longer reach, and us completely skipping over the tools on the bench . I genuinely feel like I'm missing something extremely obvious and its going to mess with me for the night.
>>
>>3159441
Don't worry too much. I'd say it's more of a relatively useful thing and not necessarily a complete game changer but hey, we won't know until we actually get to play.
>>
>>3159412
If only, Karen-chan. If only.

It's an item
There aren't any macguffins in this quest, if you're confused on that. All the items you discovered were /all/ the items you could use in this quest

Did you really, at any point in time, think that you could /win/ a Gumby quest on your first try? Really? In your heart of hearts, you thought that you weren't doomed to fail? That I didn't rig it so it'd be nearly impossible for you to "win" without knowing what's going on?
Really? :)

Nah, but seriously, after you were warned about, youknowwhat, there were still plenty of opportunities to go back and get, youknowwhat. This ending wasn't set in stone per say, but I knew you guys had overlooked it and probably wouldn't remember or think to go get it

You still could have killed yourself. Or died fighting honorably. But I knew you weren't gonna "win" at that point.

Probably.

You still could have surprised me

I mean. It's just a simulation after all
:) Anything is possible
