"The untimely death of Kyth, the divine construct of glass and obsidian, has guaranteed the our survival. Whether this was intentional or not is up to meticulous debate ...her very corpse protects us from the outside world and its unethical madness. It is our solemn duty to protect her heart, our sun and the source of everything and all..." - The Minister of Divine Particularities.

Welcome, Curious friends!

What else is more enticing other than exploring unknown vast seas of a mechanical goddess as a sea captain? Nothing , i wager! Hunt, Trade, Steal, kill. Consume delicious cogs, the world is yours!

The sea and the powers that governs her are mostly uncaring at best. A Scrawny fugitive, A Peerless Prince...all are at the mercy of the sea. Your sea captains will probably die whether from a string of horrible choices or plain old bad luck. You are a fragile little thing (Most of the time). Keep that in mind.

With that out of the way, Allow the powers that be (Myself) to instill your will in one of many Sea captains. Which of the following are going to surrender their fate to you?
>>
>An unclaimed soul (???, custom stats and ambitions)
Faceless, pointless and devoid of any meaning without you. They are yours to shape.

> A Battle-worn Veteran (Humm, A Bolstered body and mind.)
You fought under an acrid banner once, for the venomous ideals and goals of the Matriarch. your life as another pawn is but a distant memory. You turn against your former masters, spiteful and full of hatred.

Ambition: The dissolution of Thernni Matriarchy by an means.

> A languid noble (Humm, A better Start financially)
Note: You are on borrowed time...
Once reveled in a life of decadence, You fall victim to powerful curse that has claimed everyone you love and care for.

Ambition: Seeking a cure for yourself across the seas, maybe even beyond Kyth. Death's will shall be bent.

>A Wanderlust Seeker (Humm, Tends to stumble more on land or sea)
Beautiful seas, Beautiful isles. Your very soul will never be bound to a single spot. Unless...

Ambition: Attaining the four verses of Kyth, be the first to sing for the timeless Isle.

> A Spurious Exile (Ashen, Better company)
You do not belong from this fold, by means unknown, you found yourself in a strange world. Shunned by most, Hunted by the rest. You earned a pardon from a Thernni pale officer. It should make dealing with other Humms easier. Keyword here is should.

Ambition : Return home...wherever it may be.

>Dream-Scarred Prophetess (Ashen, A thousand steps behind you)
Note: The gods of the sea shall never forgive such sacrilege...
Your very soul is like no other. The seed of godhood stirs within. it whispers, guides and warns. You shall ascend, No Man or God shall stop you.
Ambition: Follow the seed, attain divinity

>A Sordid spy (Kythian, Skin-wearer)
Note :Do not pick this
Pretenders, Usurpers. The holy carcass of the allmother belongs to her kin of glass and obsidian. You guise yourself under loathsome flesh to serve the Kiln. This is your purpose.

Ambition: Reclaim the heart of Kyth, Attain Kiln Supremacy across the sea.

> A Rightfully-accused Vagrant (Kerkit, Resourceful)
Note: Your kin have branded you, best not to tempt your fate.

The Hive has made a grievous mistake, your wings will not rest until you return with the most precious, the most worthy. They will make you a queen. Ambition: Amass enough wealth to have the hands of the hive under your feet

> A Delirious waste (Husk, Living ship)
Note: Do not pick this, you will be attacked almost on sight
You are awake. Are you the last of your kind? The Goddess of Iron is no more, You found yourself under the carcass of her sworn rival. The faint cries of your mechanical soul echoes under the sea.

Ambition: A Reunion with your mechanical soul, You are the key

On stats...

Life is never simple under Kyth. Each captain is governed by a set of stats that alter his/her playstyle. They can be increased (or decreased) via various means throughout his/her journey. They are:

Teeth: Your might, your efficiency in combat and other related encounters
Tongue : Your way with words, affects various interactions and the morale/obedience of your crew
Eye : Your perception, Reveal the hidden and the unknown.
Mind : Your overall knowledge of the world and your critical thinking
Heart : Your body, how much can it endure, how long can it keep up with different situations
Sea-Blood: Your fortune in the sea among other hidden aspects.

Like most of the Ashen in Thernn, You were thrown in a prison for as long as you remember. You were a disease, an unknown threat from the outside world where everything isn't where it should be.

You earned your pardon thanks to an Incandescent Zealot. He kissed your feet crying tears of joy. You were his prophetess, you are his goddess . At first, It made very little sense to you...then the voices inside your mind grew, unshackled by forces unknown. " Where the heart mourns, set sail. North, beyond the myriad of lies." It whispers.

Dark Bowels, New beginnings

The Humms control most of the sea under Kyth, sprouting colonies, Unbroken naval forces and so on. Few can match the iron will and fist of their Matriarch. The capital city of Thernn reflects their visage of greatness; giant sprawling structures, Smoke-spewing factories churning all sorts of goods...all the technological wonders are born here.

Still, The Matriarch has her share of the poor and the unwanted. Her constant campaigns of bloodshed has bled her city dry, the promise of land and skins is too alluring for the nobles and the like. It is a constant cycle of wealth and wretchedness.

You stand in the docks. Your devout follower is by your side, ready to spring to action at the simplest of commands...

>Your ship! Your beautiful ship, enter your domain, the rest shall follow.
Asking for clues can wait for the time being.

>Send Your follower to one of the three main districts of Thernn [Poor, So-and-So, Rich]
He might find something of worth. He is a Humm, you are not.

>Mire in the Slums
Poor, Unwashed...They may have what you desire...or they can rob you blind

>Wander among the Coal-tainted Buildings
They scrape by...working constantly for the Matriarch and her tools of war. Who knows, you may find something.

On Challenges.....

Any Sea captain is bound to face adversity in their path of greatness. Challenges vary in difficulty according to the captain's stats.
Red Challenges are the most difficult to conquer
Blue Challenges are more manageable
Green Challenges are trivial
Note: Difficulty does not equate to the most optimal choice. It is up to you to choose what is the most profitable and beneficial for your sea captain. Sometimes a rare event will occur (bad or good), its prevalence is tied to the Sea-blood stat

A sterner reply, With a hint of regret "I served the Matriarch at the Ministry of Indecorous Discoveries, we brought the most outlandish artifacts and trinkets above or below the sea...My focus was rare literature before the death of Kyth. There, i found the rarest of pages...one that foretold your arrival. I left the chains of my position for your grace."

Literary Pages , yes, you heard of them...Snippets of a time bygone containing enough emotions to alter and bend nature and time. They are used for various purposes across the sea. The most powerful of these pages are hoarded by the likes of the Matriarch. The ones who wrote them belonged to the outside world, perished and forgotten.

"I used to work alone, your grace. The Obscene treasuries of the Ivory Vault is guarded against all concepts of alternation and vile interference. My reputation and my swift luck allowed me to leave without any repercussion . Do not worry, They are too much of a Skin-slouching fools to uncover the page's true prophecy."

Your ship is old, rust on the sides, worn out paint... that was to be expected; it was a miracle that your follower could afford such a vessel in the first place. Still, She is sturdy to enough to have survived what the sea had thrown against her. It will do.

"Welcome aboard, captain. You trust this old vessel in our hands, we will take good care of her." said one of them. Were they paid to be nice to a filthy Ashen or this is perhaps their Sea manners at hand?

Your eyes flickered to the right, Something small watches you silently behind a window "Our guardian, been with us for almost a decade. They will serve you well, Captain."

"Come out, meet your new master." Another one called for this guardian. Who or what was it?

On the horrors of the sea...
The Sea, has nothing natural about it. It is the flowing blood of a dead mechanical goddess. Madness will plague the minds of you and crew the further you stay away from land fighting sea beast, delving into the unthinkable etc. Lower your madness by returning to ports and other relaxing interactions. Don't Lose your mind.

Dilation is how the sea alters your body. It has very slow buildup compared to madness. Time works differently in the sea...a constant state of Dilation that can turn a single Sea day to a full week on land. A ship's Guardian negates most of said alterations but not all of them. To undo the effects of Dilation, Rewind your body via Time-menders who are commonly found in ports or find a Time Splinter across the sea. Don't Lose your body.

A new day has dawned, All of your doubts were dispelled upon his arrival. Your follower was not alone...

Vicious traders, Scheming politicians nothing good comes out of this insect-like race. How the Matriarch allows them to thrive here is beyond you.

"He knows a man capable of helping us...He desires a passage to The Sungraves as a price." said your follower following a raspy cough.

On Seafaring...
There are three important resources for any capable sea captain:

Fuel : The first choice for most roaring engines. Going at normal speed will increase the chance for different encounters across the sea, Full speed decrease the chance but consumes more fuel and make engine prone to overheating.

Supplies : For the empty bullies of everyone aboard, more crew means more supplies used. It has other uses too according to the present circumstance.

Crew : The working force of any ship , they can board other ships if given the command. Lower crew means a slower, more vulnerable ship

9th of July, 1815 PK (Post Kyth)
The Barb had set sail from the busy port of Thernn. Sungraves is your destination.

SD-1 (Sea Day) : The Coast is black, sluggish and grim; refuse and wastes of the continuous industrial expansion has tainted life beyond repair. No Animal in sight

SD-2 : Your Slimy guardian has laid its eggs right at your doorsteps, screeching for a mate to fertilize its succulent eggs. "This seldom happens but it is normal." A crewman assured you. [+1 Supplies]

SD-4 Two of the sailors were caught having extra rations, you let it slide for the time being. They moaned for a legit cook in the ship. Maybe you will find someone to fill this role...

SD-5 Alas, A Blubbery ball of fur was spotted on the coast. Its fur is tainted with Black. It growled back in to your ship horn. You feel satisfied afterwards

SD-6 The Great walls of Thernn (or the Seven Mountain wall) cast a great shadow over gentle waves. It was built by men of stone, the lowest form of the unhumms. It is cold and practical. The Matriarch demands the most efficient as always.

SD-7 : There it is , Throat keep in its rotten glory. Once, it was your squalid home. It is so eerie to observe it from outside...sprawling Greystoned Towers, faint screams echoing from the horizon and a thousand cannon fending Thernn from any and all.

Supplies: 4
Fuel: 8
Madness: 5/100

Slightly disturbed by the lack of your knowledge (but quickly forgiven since you do not belong from here) ,You crew had the following to say

On Old and New Gods....

The divines can not really perish, Their essence is often fragmented unequally. All shall form what was whole eventually. Such is their nature.

There are four (five) gods of the sea, they are:

Kyth : Although the goddess of Glass and Obsidian is dead. She is still worshiped as a whole, she has no real power to project. Her Manifestation only exists in a pitiful state.

Skull : He who governs gentle tides and smooth sailings, He bears no ill towards the children of the sea. Calm, Benevolent and Cautious, Skull is the least destructive of the gods. Scholars, Sailors and many more seek his wisdom. His ire is to be avoided; gentleness is not a sign of weakness...

Cage : Vacuous, Mournful, Yearning for what she used to shelter and protect. Cage Governs time in the sea. She is the most unpredictable, Almost all of her undoings are yet another mistake. She is the strongest of all gods but she often misuse her authority unwillingly. Madmen and some barely intelligent creatures are often her worshipers with absolute variance in power.

Spine : Order, Just, Righteousness. These words defines the goddess of authority. She governs the unspoken laws of the sea, often bickering with other gods of what should be and should have been (especially Knee) She is hard to please and quick to anger. Spine despises change, Her agents will hunt down any who dare to bend her laws. Traders, Law and power figures follow her words. They are equally rewarded.

Knee : Chaos, Bloodshed, Suffering. Knee revels in the innate cruelty of the sea. The corpse of Kyth is her battlefield. She will not rest until everyone is dead. As such, she is the most destructive of the gods. Extremely easy to please and anger. Soldiers of fortune, pirates and the bloodthirsty kill and pillage for her pleasure

A vision?

You close your eyes, your mind drifting to virgin sands...peaceful and quite. A phantasmal speck pulsates in the drowning skies "More!" It says in an unrelenting voice. You attempt to speak but your voice is unheard, so weak.

Your tongue and mind has been blessed by the seed for a reason; There are many waiting to follow your steps, you only have to speak the right words to them.

You need more followers to commune with the seed properly. Almost anyone is susceptible to your words...

Ungrateful...

"About time you show some colours of hospitality..." The Kerkit went straight into the platter without waiting another second second. In a manner of minutes, three Keering Longfish, a buttered Mangar stew and five luxurious fruits were churning together in his insectoid belly. You couldn't manage to utter a single word during this uncouth display. The Ill-mannered bug left an untidy mess on his side of the table. Your guardian happily took care of the leftovers (too little for a proper meal anyways.)

Knee's Will

The smell of brimstone and black powder, the torn corpses of seamen. You are too late. Another small fishing ship half sunk by immoral pirates who dare not to cross the great walls for profit.

Not much can be salvaged, it must have been picked clean by those before you. One of your men points at an untouched haul of fish in the back, slightly charred by fire. You could use this.

A Tragedy of Glass

You (and some of the crew) stand in awe at the presence of The wreckage of Vieer : a monstrous flagship made from shimmering glass and nigh impenetrable obsidian. According to the oldest of your crewmen, The Kythians attempted to destroy the Matriarch and her city long ago with a giant fleet of their own. Their Half sunken Flagship is a testament of the Matriarch's unbroken might. Thousands of these men of glass dangle lifelessly from unseen heights without skin to hide their gleaming form ....lifeless chimes, a blatant warning.

Giant Factories roar loudly inside, their exhausts escapes through cannonholes (and other Humm drilled holes) so no one inside will suffocate from black air . a lifetime supply of precious metals and part. Many companies has settled here tearing each other apart for the rights to mine and salvage. Heavily guarded from both inside and outside, there is room for trading and other actives.

SD-12 : The engine has temporarily come to a halt. A problem which took several hours to fix. Thankfully, None had preyed upon your vulnerable vessel. A well versed Chief engineer would have been the better choice here. [-1 Supplies]

On Oddities and Afflictions...

The sea has its shares of mysteries and secrets, some may not be grasped by hands. Stories, tales, visions and many more are all oddities . They can be used for more peculiar trading, unlocking unseen paths to progress and so on. Some of them can be traded with an officer for a better teeth, eye, mind...etc.

Afflictions are all sorts of harm bestowed upon you. Most can be simply dispelled by resting, others require a different approach, few are permanent. Some Afflictions may increase on their own if left untreated.

Mind the Sea, captain. Have enough physical afflictions and your body will hold you no more. Have enough mental afflictions and your mind will belong to Cage.

The Sungraves

Alas, after 14 Sea Days, you have arrived to the Sungraves. You will know the true date once you dock. Two sets of Isles, The larger is bearing the remnants of a colossal insect with shimmering wings that lights the skies in a colourful and beautiful display.

"Kelige, Ancestral Kerkit choose to die here under the cracks of Kyth." said your guest, already packed and ready. You look at the skies....The Ministry of Divine Particularities has allowed some cracks to remain unsealed, perhaps to honor the relation between the two races. A rare benevolence shown by the Matriarch.

"We die here, under her merciful wings, you won't understand..." He proceeded to give you 50 Skins and a clue "You will find him in the smaller isle, A hermit...wingless and blind spending the last of his days in a ruined temple. Take a guide and a ferry from the main town there to approach the smaller isle. Best of Luck!"

On Land Ventures....

Much like the sea (and everywhere), time passes on land. A regular day or two will consume 1 supplies most of the time (There are exceptions where food is aplenty on land or there is no need for it). The shadows of your crew will follow you in silence automatically for hauling new goods, assembling newly bought ship parts and so on. Their only real palpable presence is within encounters that require combat (You can also choose for them to stay on the ship, your choice).

You can have 1 officer (or guardian but it is situational and dangerous) accompanying you on land. Note that they may alter some encounters for better or worse so choose wisely.

Where Marrow is served...

"Yes,yes. In the future, Come and Find me between alleyways and dark corners when you possess...uncanny merchandises. Don't bring the law behind your tail."

The port was bustling with life and trade. Even in such a sacred place, The Kerkit do what the Kerkit knows best. A yellow haze obscures the port, The Distinct smell of Marrowine according to your crew men. "Simply delicious, to die for." They say.

You wished your docking has gone by unnoticed; The many suspecting eyes of the ancestral guards and some Bloodcoats were all over your ship. You didn't had a chance to step outside of the Barb.

"Just a regular check up, can't have filth like you washing ashore..." Your previous guest has disappeared in the right time. These ancestral guards had a gulling set of stings along each arm, they retracted it like a sword should they needed it. Furthermore, they had an unsettling trunk-like proboscis extended from their masked faces, almost as long as their arms. Its porous nature allowed it to sniff everything about like hounds on wings. You haven't raised a drop of suspicion, it seems.

"Your papers." Two had poured their unwanted aggression on something else, you handled them your pardon signed by a pale officer. Oddly enough, the rest of them has politely left the barb leaving a Bloodcoat and an Ancestral guard behind.

"We are watching you, filth. Basic supplies only, Ashen Mongrels like you are not allowed to buy ship improvements . You are free to trade. Borderline. Do not abuse the trust of the Matriarch and the Hive" Spewed the ancestral guard in a heavy guttural accent, you were surprised how different the people of wings utter words like so. Your passenger almost talked like a regular Humm with few clicks and throat gurgles.

"Unless..." Said the Bloodcoat leaning next to a barrel in your cargo hold. His eyes were fixed on the gleaming pearl "...You make it worth our time, A temporary slip. The law will keep a blind eye on a good sum of your activities - Illegal or not."

An unsung chorus of Humm and Kerkit laughter troubled your men who were watching this injustice silently, All were waiting for your hazily-touched words.

Yellow and Salt

"Offer? We extend you a hand and you spit on it, Outsider scum. Watch your back." They didn't leave without knocking down a few barrels. At least they left empty handed.

Occurrence: On Authority of Sungraves has changed (0->1 Weary. The law has little trust in your actions, Mind your illegal acts)

The constant buzzing was no surprise, most around here were Kerkit hauling sacks, haggling with stubborn customers and tucking skins safety between their layered chitin. Kelige's shadow was a fitting name for this small town.

You asked a fishermen on what date is it " 20th of September." He muttered, returning back to his patient chore. Has it been this long?

You gazed at the structures ahead. Unlike Thernni architecture, Kerkit buildings were often vibrant in colour (the yellow haze of the Marrowine did blemish some of the colours though) and a bit random at times with little planning in hindsight.

Strands of Marrow-soaked Silk fluttering between each rooftop, sturdy enough for the Insect children to prance and hop about. The Market place was by far the largest attraction to the town. A maze of stands glued together with each merchant struggling to keep a good eye on his wares, you have no doubt thievery is rampant here. Those who are more fortunate have strange dome-like structures made out from the abundant saltstones all over the isle, woven from outside with colourful silk strands.

There were few outlets of pleasure, Mainly for the non Kerkit resting here before heading to Thernn. Nothing too spectacular but it will do. All colours of people were busy in their own endeavors. Humms, Kerkit, Men of Stone being herded by their masters to a task unknown, few Ashen like you and many more. All were unequally watched by the law. No Kythians for obvious reasons.

The largest structure in the town was a Manor bearing an odd mixture between Thernni and Kerkiti architecture. The mayor resides there, overseeing the constant flow of raw marrow from the chains of snowy mountains up ahead. These mountains held the body of the ancestral Kerkit, a perilous path would lead you to the top where a small temple shines brightly, alas, it is not your the temple you are seeking.

At the very bottom were the graves of the winged were oddly marked by a single forearm sticking from the salt-tainted soil, usually clutching an item of sorts. Finally, the outskirts had few shacks of the poor, unable to live properly inside the town. A small Ferry rests at the far edge of the isle, next to a crumbling lighthouse....your legit way to the smaller isle.

The seed of godhood had something of import to say, It came out as random gibberish powerful enough to split your head with ease. You clutch to one of your men, his voice of concern ringing into your ear. You...you are fine...Are you?

Onwards...

A lonesome path awaited you from the port to the furthest edge of the isle. The shallow waters there are quiet and unstirred and a tad murky. The Lighthouse bears Thernni quality stones, abandoned and claimed by ruin. It houses a small family, probably that of the ferry.

The ferry looked rather strange to say the least, Hostile sparks and hisses to blind unprepared eyes all over the vessel. Half circular mirror constantly rotating by a hidden mechanism and its helm had a gelatinous guardian unaffected by the sparks. Its owner was taking a nap on a tilted chair . A Humm of all people. What you assumed to be his two daughters shook him the dreams out of him, his eyes focused on his potential customers.

"A ride to the stings you need? Oooh..." he cracked his back, a moan of relief escaped his Marrow-tainted lips "You and your men are one of them Mayor's hunters? Where are your tools?"

"Who? We know of the temple you are speaking about but...no one comes there." The ferryman shrugged, his stubby fingers grabbing a bottle of Marrowine "Hunters don't bother with the jungle, they stay close the shore where the squidmen chant."

"Let me go with her, Pa! Oh have i longed for an adventurous type!" The youngest of the two daughters clutched to his stained shirt. Eyes brimmed with determination.

"Nonsense, you are a fool and a calf. I'll show her the way around thick vines and overgrown foliage. We need more skins for Ma." The older daughter took offense at her sister's proposal.

"None of you will go! I'll be damned to leave any of my lilies at the mercy of lawless beasts!" His attention shifts to you "I'll let you ride my ferry. 50 skins. The filthy pub in the town has a drunken guide, you go for him. Shake him out of his misery for once. My daughters belong to this side of the isle."

"Shut up!" One of your crew smashed his jaw with the butt end of his rifle "You're lucky to be alive right now. A single mouthful of yours and i'll leave a hole between your eyes..."

You left the ferryman and his family. Perhaps you will find another way to the isle that won't aggregate the unwanted wrath of the law...or you could at later date with a peace offering. Something to dispel spiteful meeting.

You returned to your ship at the end of the day, about to retire to your bed when your men have informed you of a man, waiting for you silently. He donned a luxurious attire of black leather, fit not for the hardships for the sea. Golden ornaments on both sides of his sleeves. A headless visage with a small briefcase.

"Pardon my unsettling appearance. My company prefers her employees to remain faceless, authorized by the pale office itself. I have a genuine offer for a novice sea captain such as yourself, Madam."

The table was set, a proper dinner was served. The headless employee had removed his gloves only to reveal a porous hand with a faint of blue light inside his palm "I represent the Celestial Engine . We are only the legal company with enough wit and power to utilize souls to advance Thernn beyond her limits of Steam, Coal, wicked arcane or pages."

Slowly, All the fish on his table has turned into a glossy mass of red, easily siphoned via the pulsating pores "We acquire souls through legal means. I bear an investment of skins. 2000 to be exact and a full year to return them back as 4000. If the conditions are not met, you are legal;y obliged to surrender your soul to the nearest celestial station."

The festivities below continues to spread like a joyous fever. This pleasant ruckus was a nice distraction to the horrors of the sea.

You lost x2 madness (Total: 22)

Cries of Joy

"The day of the dead, we honour their flesh and souls" A little girl answered your question. It doesn't fit the theme in your opinion but she has little reason to lie to you; different cultures an all.

You picked one of the many flyers on the walls and street. The Mayor is holding a party in his manor at night, 300 skins for an entry. There was also this 'feasting' being held at the same time in the market place, another event with 50 skins for an entry. Intriguing .

Many drinks were handed out randomly, Marrowine of better variety (nothing too expensive). You were given so many plates of food, you didn't know what to do with half of them.

You gained x1 supplies (Total 3)

Drunk in the morn

The local pub was more lively as ever with the day of the dead bringing more customers than he the owner could handle. A small circle of drunken brawlers did entertain many around, the last contender had left with broken pride. Another to fill his place in a jiffy. Other buffoons were trying to outdrink each other.

"You ordering something or you just standing there?" The Bartender flickered his wings, bringing more drinks from the secured casks hanging from the ceiling.

A lone corner

One caught your attention, far away from the common rabble. A rarely seen kind of Kerkit, akin to a moth yet retaining the most common features of the people of wings. At the first glance, you mistaken her for one of the working staff then you realized no chef works in a pub. Not to your knowledge at least.

After a brief conversation, you learned more about her, freshly fired from the Mayor's manor for reasons unknown. Her azure eyes are uncaring and cold, Her voice is bitter and sharp like frozen glass. How can she cook with these razor sharp arms?

"I suppose a galley *is* still a kitchen. Doesn't matter where i cook. I don't ask for much... respect my dishes and pay me well, dear."

A victor of the round

A firestorm was brewing inside your throat on the cup, your stomach pleading for anything else but your persists. Another, then another, then...

Your loud-mouthed rival has given up on his fifth round. The drunken cheers has declared you the winner of this contest. An Off-Duty Bloodcoat handles a share of skins; apparently, he was the only one to bet against your passed out rival . He muttered some gibberish , unbuttoning his scarlet coat only to leave the pub afterwards.

Other sailors by around your table were more open to you. They spoke about old tales and legends. You had to leave the pub or you would stay there for the whole day! The day of the dead continues...

Doodads

A Humm with a crooked nose and a devious smile greeted you, his spindly fingers hovering over his merchandise. The following was on sale:

A sack of Thrallbone coins (1=20 Skins, 10 left)
Ancient coins used before the death of Kyth by the lost men of iron. Has no intrinsic value beyond activating few machines, sunken and hidden from common eyes.

An honorary page (1=45 skins, 1 left)
A page written for respectful purposes. Some sapient beasts prefer minced words rather than steel and sulfur. Read it to palliate your intents. Has other uses.

Ivsedms (1=50 skins, 1 left)
A strange contraption created by the men of iron. A box of dull ironstone, with symbols worn without recognition . Can store any delicious cogs (the innards of husks or the dead men of iron) safety blocking any temptation to consume them.

A roll of dilated mass (1=30 Skin, 15 left)
Many fates awaits those who are unguarded by the constant dilation of the sea. This rather humid and sickly mass is one of them. A merciful exit in comparison. Commonly used for protection against dilation in distorted areas.

Heartstring Oil (1= 50 skins, 5 left)
Spectral oil from arteries and veins that don't exist anymore. Offers mild protection against the rapturous heartbeats of Kyth capable of sundering anyone in an instant.

Shards of heretic words (1= 2 skins, 100 left)
The 'official' '''''currency'''' of the Kythians, also known as Shards. No one wants to trade with Skin-wearing men of glass, no?

Serpentine Key of Vuuld (1= 1 skin , 1 left)
A cursed key with an appetite for misery. It coils around your wrist and injects blight into your veins only if you accept it as its owner. why would you buy this?

Will buy only trinket for 50 skins...

"Welcome...Madam." One of the Bloodcoats was obliged to greet you as he opened the main gate for you. Your attire was adequate when compared to others in the main garden, Many sea captain made your same choice it seems.

The lush gardens had tables of lavish food and the best of Marrowine the town can offer, the music was so soft and sedating with almost no relation to the day of the dead itself. In fact, all the idle conversations were about future dealings and what not. To the right was a small hedge maze...a secluded area where lovers can express their emotion more freely.

The large glass doors of the Manor were wide open, welcoming any and all. The more sophisticated guests chose marble and ivory instead of freshly trimmed grass. There, The mayor had a gauntlet of important figures around him with laughter and murmurs spilling outside. The woman you saw with him earlier had a company of her own, all are charmed by her pristine tongue and body.

No lovers in sight? Did you somehow misheard the moans? A hearty giggle amidst the living wall. A woman calling you from everywhere "I caught you little Moth~... Can you catch me too?"

The ground churns around you, your exit is gone. Four paths before you to choose, each is marked by an animal statue:

That of a Magpie , Trimmed hedges, shorter hedges than the rest...but there is something sinister about them, shadowy fingers lurking below.

That of a Tiger , Majestic decorations, Beautiful flowers...and a menacing growl of an unknown beast within.

The art of excess

The Mayor is undoubtedly generous for a good reason. The food was plenty, the seared, the roasted, the baked. You had them all, your bloated stomach asked for more but you had to restrain yourself. You just had to ask one of the servants about that Keering Longfish Dish. He reluctantly gave you an answer you sought.

You gain an oddity : x1 Idiosyncratic recipe

A distinct recipe for a peckish taste. The culinary arts has respectable place among men and some beasts.

The south end of the garden had a couple of gazebos, all beautifully crafted with small statuettes on each corner. There, Masked men and women were providing better company to those who were sick of all that business blabber. All came from from the redhouse as it was shown by what little they were wearing. Those who wanted to go beyond soft words and forced laughs would discreetly retreat to a certain section of the Manor away from the party itself.

A Moment of truth

The seed demands more followers to worship the very ground you walk on, these two will do. Your eyes shines white, your ashen face turns pale. It is time.

>Get more than 65 from 1d100. I demand a single roll.

Success

Their eyes widened. The world they used to know is now gone, They are yours now.

Occurrence: The Seed of Godhood has changed [20->22 followers]
Occurrence: Presence in Sungraves has changed (0->1 : barely exists)

The Ire of the gods increases...

You had a few questions to ask about their whereabouts and what not. They replied to all. With a palpable accomplishment, you left the dyad to the gardens where the mayor was giving his yearly speech.

>Listen to his speech
The end of the party approaches

>Go to the maze
Dare you?

>Sneak inside the manor
A difficult task with everyone outside.
A Mind challenge
A Heart challenge

On the bigger picture...

The Dream-Scarred Prophetess can have followers on land under certain circumstances. Every time she returns to said place after some lengthy time, her followers will provide her with something of use. The more these followers are, the more bountiful their provision shall be.

At the same time, this will highly increase the suspicion of the local authorities.... a secret cult has no place in most of the isles. Mind the retribution of the ministry of divine particularities and other religious organizations.

More words.

The Mayor's speech was - as the masked woman suggested - too mundane for your liking. He abruptly ended it after one of his men whispered something to his ear. A quick toast then it was over. You left the manor with a lingering sense of a chance lost. Still, It was a beautiful night.

You return to the Barb broken and exhausted. A gentle pat for your guardian then to your cold bed sheets. Your body already longing for a warmer embrace..

A new dawn

A new smell floating in the cabin has woken you up, that of a fresh breakfast specifically made for you. When the morning had worn off, you saw her standing at the door way.

"Quite selfish you of to go to manor alone. I suppose this is the kind of captains i am stuck with. Did you find the gluttonous daughter inside the manor? Quite a sight to be sure...." Your new cook stated "Well, don't just stand there. Eat your breakfast and thank me for it..."

Certainly it was one of the most filling meals you had for a long time. The scraps you had to swallow and endure in Throat keep are longer gone. You are the master of your own destiny.

The Market place was closed for cleaning purposes, you saw bloody innards splattered all over the streets...what happened??

You must not forget your main goal: The wingless hermit.

CHOOSE YOUR COMPANY

>No one.
Yes, You alone.

>A small company of your crew
Like before.

>Your guardian?
It is still hot outside.

>Your cook?
"What? You want me out of my culinary fort?"

AND

>A full report!
So much has happened.

>Wait until nighttime
They sleep.

>Kelige's Shadow
The Aftermath.

>The Barb
Your crew, guardian and officer...

>The Summit
Closed as well...

>The Outskirts
The mines, the shacks, the graves...

>The Lighthouse
The ferry, the guide...
Note: The ferryman is not pleased with your actions.

>Write a report on the Sungraves in advance
You have some knowledge. Might be worth it.
Note: Each report worth more after exploring ports and gathering enough information for the Pale office. Mundanity is not profitable

Nightfall

You spent your day inside the barb, A couple of Bloodcoats gave you a solid warning out of no where; just because the Sungraves has no docking fees , It doesn't mean you could stay here indefinitely hogging a single spot like so.

A few days and you will be forced to leave....

The heart is silent. You walked alone in the town, most of carnage was washed off, the streets have been cleaned thoroughly.

>Wander in dark alleyways
What can you find?
A Sea blood challenge

>Browse the finer shops
Most of them can afford to work this late.

>Visit your contacts in the redhouse
Your followers won't have much for you this early

>The manor?
Do you want to sneak in there?

>Robbery...
Kerkit houses have a lot of windows, you need to be silent and agile enough to climb one.
A heart challenge

>Not the town...
where do you want to go then?

Shredded

A corner in the dark, an unfortunate woman getting torn apart and skinned by no other than a vile Kythian! You caught him in his skin-wearing act.

The construct of blood-tainted glass turns his head slowly towards you, his bare skull is devoid of eyes and yet... he could sense very single movement of yours.
"No, you won't do. Your skin is too sickly for my taste. You get to live another day, scitter-scatter away..."

>Scream your lungs out
A SKIN WEARER! GUARDS! GUARDS!

>Leave, silently.
You are lucky he is too busy with someone else

>Converse with him
What? Why? Who

>Draw your weapons!

Steel meets glass ...

"Oh? An interesting turn of events. I would like to see you try.." He drops the corpse with an audible thud. You are his next target. Without no one to immediately back you up, you must rely on your weapons alone to face the skin wearer. Your screams shall alert nearby patrols who will hopefully arrive on time.

A pitiful fate

Your first bullet bounces off his obsidian frame, your first strike barely scrapes his chest, he lunge at you with devious grin. His wide array of teeth sinks into your flesh tearing chunks of flesh with each bite. Satisfied of his carnage, the Kythian stands up and leaves the area as the whistles of the bloodcoats and the buzzing of the ancestral guard grow closer.

Your blood runs freely on the cold, dirty pavement. You dreams of ascension is forever lost and unattainable. You curse the gods in your last breath.

You are dead.
