Time seems to slow as you see Bojack and Kougeki prepare the Fusion Dance. You can also sense another one of the Herans bolting towards you, Izumi trailing behind her as best she can. You might only have one shot at this, one shot to keep them from fusing and making all of this a dozen times more difficult. Or... maybe you can cause them to slip up ever so slightly and put them at a disadvantage, but that sounds way more difficult and could backfire on you. On the other hand, you could protect dad and uncle Raditz as they try to fuse.

Time’s running out. If you’re gonna act, you need to act now. What’ll it be, Peppa?

The Fusion Dance is difficult on its own, the slightest quirk in posture similarity can produce something overly fat or thin, they really shouldn't have chosen to do this in front of us.

Okay, best bet is to try and prevent them from fusing. If they try it again maybe get them to mess up, but no need to risk that. Locking on to their Ki, you teleport past the Herans guarding the two and swing around your Power Pole, knocking down Kogu and Bido once more. However, you fail to stop Bujin, who throws forth his Ki threads to grab you. You’re immobilized, but not out of options! “POWER POLE EXTEND!”

The staff shoots forth, smacking Bojack in the gut and sending him flying. Bujin releases his grip on you to try and help Bojack. Looking back, you see everyone try to hold off the Ginyus, only for another Heran, a woman in tattered clothes and with a manic look in her eyes, grab hold of them all with more of those threads.

Izumi is close behind her though, while you can sense uncle Raditz on his way to help. But Kougeki is standing before you, weighing his options. You... then spot Vegeta fly past you, trailing where Bojack was knocked to. He... doesn’t really look like he’s in much of a rush though, and has an almost curious look on his face.

Bah. Forget about Vegeta, so long as he doesn’t make this worse you can afford to let him be. You instead go to Bujin, grabbing his threads and bolting back with him, trying to swing him at Kougeki... only for Kougeki to notice what you’re doing easily and dodging past Bujin, slamming his foot into your gut. You’re knocked aside, grip on Bujin released, but you’re not out yet, as you stop yourself and then fly back to him, smacking him with your Power Pole and flying him far away from Bojack. Can’t let them fuse!

Looking over you notice that Izumi’s managed to free everyone, with the little Heran lady and the mind controled Ginyus retreating over to Bujin. Okay, good, got that going for you at least. What about Vegeta...?

“GET BACK HERE YOU COWARD!” he roars out, Bojack dashing after you. Gah, he let Bojack slip past him?! Damn it Vegeta!

‘Guys, get the Ginyus and anyone else with that symbol on their heads out of the arena!’ aunt Chi-chi’s voice calls out to you. You look up and notice that she and uncle Acer are standing beside Nappa... wait, his mark’s gone! And Guldo’s there too, beside Chiaotzu, also looking normal still! And even Kuriza!

Well, no sense in looking a gift horse in the mouth, Peppa! What’ll you do?

You blast forward with Kougeki, putting some distance between yourself and Bojack, and then, after knocking him up, ready your Power Pole. With a smirk you ask, “Wanna see what I’ve got?”

“I already know. It’s a death wish!” he exclaims, trying to fire a massive wave of energy at you. But you’re already gone when he does it, telelorting behind him and delivering a hard smack to his side.

“TOO SLOW!” you shout out as you do it again, your aura sparking around you, teleporting around him over and over, moving in a swirling pattern, Wind Magic boosting every blow. The barrage causes severe damage to him, and by the end you’re able to deliver one final devastating blow, knocking him into the air. You twirl the Power Pole and throw up a Victory sign. “Piece of cake!”

It’s enough to knock him senseless for a moment, but Kougeki stops himself, seething as he looks down at you. Both he and Bojack bolt away from you, trying to get some distance again, as you follow, Vegeta bursting ahead of you. “You can’t keep running! I will be the one to put you both in your graves.

Looking back, you notice Izumi try to blast out a flurry of icy water, but not only does her attack miss, the lady Heran manages to blast her in the face. Your cousin is then grabbed by her and slammed into the ground as Chuu Lee, and Piccolo get the Ginyus out of the arena, dad and Raditz apparently readying the Fusion Dance, Bujin attempting to run only to be caught by 19, who grabs him by the neck and flies over to the lady Heran, smacking her in the back of the head with him to get her off Izzy and then in turn grabbing her by the neck. You notice that their Ki starts to drop... but then you feel a sudden odd jolt from them. And from Kogu and Bido too. Their bodies start to twitch and bulge unnaturally once more. Agh... if you leg Vegeta handle the two of them himself things might go down badly, but Izzy could be in serious trouble!

What to do, Peppa?

You rush to your cousin’s aid, right as Izumi yells at 19 to toss up the two Herans she has. She then declares, “GRAVITY BLOW!” as a shadowy mass is launched up at them. You quickly help her up, the both of you looking at one another. Simultaneously, the two of you exclaim,

“Knock ‘em away?”

“Knock ‘em away!”

Telling your allies to get out of the way, you both get back to back, charging your Ki together, a sphere of energy surrounding both of you, swirling with Wind Magic and blast forth a massive Explosive Wave. The four Herans are blown away, along with a good portion of the city landscape and a chunk of the top of the ring.

Four bodies slam into the water outside the dome, motionless, Bujin and the lady Heran still conscious but unable to move. Izumi almost falls forward, with you catching her. “Agh... I... I think I’m out of energy now. I think I can’t feel my limbs. Oh. Oh wait there it goes. Ow.”

Chuu Lee gets to her side, giving her a Senzu Bean. “You’ve certainly put in more effort than most of us have. Great job.”

“You’re awesome, Izzy!” you proclaim, helping her sit down as she takes the Senzu.

“We’re not done yet though.” Piccolo adds in, looking over to Bojack and Kougeki. Vegeta’s managing to hold the both of them off, but just barely. “We could overpower them, but I’d rather we not risk giving them any more energy.”

“I could teleport them away.” Chuu Lee comments. “But Vegeta seems like he’s going to keep fighting no matter where they go.”

The android girl steps forward. “I have managed to drain a bit of the energy they’ve absorbed from the battles. If I can get in close with them, or perhaps drain from-”

Four explosions echo through the ring to interrupt her, 19 bringing up her barrier around everyone to shield them as that takes down most of the remainder of the dome. You see Chi-chi brought up a shield with her Spirit Bits too, Acer wiping his forehead as that seems to have kept the explosions from causing any damage to the audience. You then sense around... and realize just what those four explosions were.

“Th-they self-destructed?!” Chuu Lee exclaims.

Piccolo looks away grimly. “...They were forced to do so by Babidi. It seems that he’s finally run out of uses for them.”

“H-he killed them!? He can do that?!” Izumi yells out, shocked and disgusted.

“To prevent me from stealing any more of their energy, I’d assume.” 19 speculates.

Vegeta’s knocked over to your group, skipping across the ground. You look forward, time slowing again as your mind processes all of this. Bojack and Kougeki are trying to fuse again, and they’re almost there. You... you might get one more chance to prevent this!

“-SION! HA-”

You have one shot at this. You teleport to Chi-chi, telling her she needs to break Bojack’s curse. She nods, holding on to your shoulder. You teleport right in front of the two of them. “HA!”

A giant of a man stands before the two of you, his red hair long in the back and spiked up in the front, in the usual Metamor Fusion garb, laughing with satisfaction. “Hahahaha! HAHAHAHAHA! Now you’ve got no-”

“CURSE BREAKER!” Chi-chi declares, slapping her hand on his forehead, a powerful jolt of energy coming through it, something that seems to take a good bit of Ki from Chi-chi as she uses it. The fused Heran cries out in pain, swatting her aside and trying to smack you away as he clenches his forehead. He brings his hand down, slightly confused... and you sense just a little bit of his Ki drop. But more importantly, the symbol is gone. He seems... absolutely livid. “...You. YOU. I’LL-!”

A fist slams into his face, sending the Heran bolting away, as another fused fighter lands beside you. He has features of both your father and uncle Raditz. He smirks, rubbing his nose, his tail swaying behind him. “All right! Man, been a while since I’ve really gotten a chance to cut loose like this.”

Chuu Lee teleports to Chi-chi, helping her stand. “Well, we’ve stopped Babidi from getting more energy, but this guy’s still plenty strong.”

Rakarot cracks his knuckles. “I can handle him. They’ve both caused enough trouble at this Tournament.”

“I could get him out of here.” she comments, taking her stance. “Just as an extra precaution.”

“Maybe. We need to still finish him quickly.” the fused Saiyan readies himself. “And I say we’re more than enough. We can do it here.”

“Whatever you guys decide on, do it quick.” Chi-chi states, giving you a quick thank you as she flies over to her daughter, making sure she’s okay.

“Oh yeah. Huh, that might suck.” Rakarot responds with a little pout.

“Besides, with everyone here, we can take him down together! LET’S GO!” you roar, flying forward, your aura sparking around you. You attempt to smack him with your Power Pole, only for the fused Heran to catch it.

With a smirk, he states viciously, “I didn’t get to finish. I’ll KILL YOU FIRST!”

He pulls you towards him and kicks you in the side, causing you to let go of the Power Pole as he grabs your face and slams you into the ground, running as he drags you through it, smacking you into Chuu Lee and forcing her back. He then grabs the two of you and smashes you both together, barely dodging Rakarot as he tries to get the Heran to let go.

Piccolo bolts forward with a blazing red aura, stretching his arm out in an attempt to grab. The Heran dodges it, but gets hit in the back with a Ki blast from Piccolo’s outstretched arm. You notice that with the Namekian’s other hand, he’s charging a Spiral Beam Cannon, and putting a LOT of energy into it.

You don’t have much time to wonder about it though, as you feel Ki build up in the Heran’s hands. He smirks again. “One down.” Point blank, he lifts his hand and fires in your face, knocking you into the air. Your face feels like it’s on fire, he’s way stronger than you were expecting. This... this can’t be all you’ve got, can it...?

Your eyes wander around the crowds. To the people who’ve gathered around from all over the universe to watch this. To the ones who’d fought in the preliminary rounds, and were cheering on the fighters that made it to the finals. To the people who even organized this whole thing, King Furry, Mr. Cash, even that kid Monty, holding his hands to his mouth as he sees you tumbling through the air. To your friends, who came to root for you through all of this. You see Lime and her grandfather yelling out for you to not give up. You see Pantea and Videl jumping in to help. You see Cocoa waving that banner she made for you... the banner with your face on it, and next to it, in big bold letters... the word “CHAMPION.”

Your aura flares to life. You can’t give up yet! You REFUSE to give up! You let out a roar as your power skyrockets. Your hair grows longer, and you bolt right back down as Rakarot finally manages to engage the fused Heran one on one, the two fairly even, even as the fused Saiyan has Super Saiyan 2 going for him. You’re about to change that! Your fist slams into your foe’s face, knocking him down on the ground so hard that he bounces. He tries to fly up in the air, wiping the blood from his cheek. You land and stomp your feet into the ground, holding both arms out. “RASEN...!”

Rakarot smiles at you, Chuu Lee standing beside you. Piccolo’s finally finished charging his attack, yelling out, “KAIO-KEN! TIMES TWENTY!”

Rakarot joins in next holding his hands out like yours, but turning his palms up. “ALL RIGHT! ENDER...!”

“Shiiinkuuuuu!” Chuu Lee continues.

Uncle Acer and aunt Chi-chi stand beside you all as well. “Love-Love...!”

“KAMEHAMEHAAAA!” you all roar out as you fire up at the Heran.

Above you you notice Vegeta rejoining the battle, his hands together. “FINAL... FLAAAAAASH!”

The fused form of Bojack and Kougeki seems to counter with a Final Flash-like attack of his own, barely holding all of you back. And that’s when three more voices call out. “FALCON...!”

“SHINE...!”

“PUUUUUNCH!”

“SPAAAAAAARK!”

Videl and Pantea slam into him, knocking him off-balance. His attack’s stopped, and before he can try to fire again, Izumi, flying up behind the older girls, slams her hands into him. “HELL! AND! HEEAAAAEEEN!”

The three are knocked away from the sheer force of the attack, and just in time for Piccolo’s attack to shoot through his torso. “SPIRAL BOLT CANNON!”

The combination of the drilling beam and Izumi’s Light and Shadow Magic tears through the fused Heran’s body, leaving him defenseless as he’s finally overwhelmed by the combined beams. He vanishes into dust as it shoots through the sky. You pant, dropping out of Super Saiyan 3. It’s... it’s over. It’s over!

YOU DID IT! YOU ALL DID IT! YOU’VE WON!

“They’ve done it, ladies and gentlemen! The villainous Bojack and all his crew are no more! THE EARTH HAS BEEN SAVED!”

Cheers erupt from the crowds. It’s over... it’s really over. There were a few close calls, but the Heran threat has been neutralized. You sit back, laughing a little. “Haha... hahaha... i-it’s over...”

“Not... not yet... it isn’t...” Vegeta pants out, catching everyone by surprise. “This Tournament... isn’t over yet.”

Vegeta looks up at Nappa and frowns silently. Chuu Lee walks to him and hands him a Senzu Bean. “Here. So you’re at your best when the 30 minutes are up.”

He snatches it out of her hand angrily, but before taking it, he instead looks at her. Surprisingly, he actually tells her, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Chuu Lee replies. “I’d hoped for a rematch too. But looks like it wasn’t to be.”

“It wouldn’t be like before.” Vegeta declares, taking the Senzu and flying up to Nappa.

She starts passing around Senzu to everyone else, even accidentally offering one to 19, who dryly declines. “I sadly still do not have the ability to recover through legumes.”

“R-right, sorry...”

“Thanks for that boost back there, by the way.” Izumi tells her. “Though did you have to throw so hard?”

“If I recall you told me to ‘chuck you as hard as I could at that son of a-’”

Izzy quickly covers her mouth, looking back at her mother and father. “N-not in those many words.”

Chi-chi and Acer both squint at her, before deciding they’ll let it slide this time. Rakarot on the other hand picks you up and hugs you tight, exclaiming, “Now that’s the Peppa I know! Great job, kiddo! You were amazing!”

“Haha, da- ...er, unc- ...uh. Duncle?” Just what are you going to call him. You try looking for your Power Pole as you think it over.

“Huh, Duncle...?” He ponders too. “Ah, Maple’d know.”

“My father.” Beelzebub interrupts, glaring at the Supreme Kai. “Watch your next words carefully.”

“-y-yes, anyway, he has scoured the universe for powerful foes to twist to his will. All in an effort to revive the one known as Majin Buu, Gohan.”

“Including Ledgic...” mom adds in. “I wish I could’ve done something sooner. If I’d known-”

“That’s why you’ve got us as backup.” Tien reminds her, pointing to Lapis, Lazuli, and Yamcha.

“Hope Krillin and Marron are okay...” Lazuli sighs out.

“They’ll be fine, sis.”

“Besides, if we don’t deal with this Babidi guy, nowhere will be safe.” Yamcha adds in.

You watch as Kibito moves past you, grumbling, “My Lord, is it really necessary that we rely on all these mortals for our work? And the demon especially-”

“I CAN HEAR YOU, YOU KNOW!” Beelzebub shouts out.

“Stick to the plan here, everyone.” Maple exclaims to keep them from arguing. “We’re coming up on them. I can sense Ledgic’s Ki... and a couple others.”

While you don’t say it aloud, you do think it. Seems that losing to Izzy is still a sore spot for that Kibito guy. He looks forward grimly. You can tell that this brings up some uncomfortable memories for him, but he resolved to explain it anyway. “Majin Buu physically does not appear very intimidating, but make no mistake, he is a monster unlike any other. His initial rampages destroyed countless worlds, and if he’s released, he will bring about a path of destruction unlike anything you’ve ever faced before. It is almost impossible to truly harm him, as his body is made out of a magical material that regenerates from even the most severe kinds of damage. His abilities are also unmatched by almost everything, as any opponent he cannot overcome, he can absorb into himself, just as he did with two of my kind during his first rampage.”

“Gohan does bring up a good point. Can he be sealed again?” Yamcha asks.

He scratches his chin. “Bibidi was the one who originally sealed him, so Babidi should know the spell as well. It could be possible, but a being such as him would be very difficult to seal.”

“Then there’s a backup plan, but let’s not lean too hard on it.” mom states.

“Speaking of, just so we’re clear here, what happens when we DO free Dabura from Babidi’s control? We don’t need to keep fighting him after that, right?”

“If need be I’ll drag him back to the Demon Realm kicking and screaming. But we need him ALIVE.” Beelzebub emphasizes to Kibito and the Supreme Kai.

“Anything we should watch out for then? Any techniques that we need to be careful of? Sis noticed that he has some kind of weird spitting thing...”

“His spit can petrify.” Beelzebub replies bluntly. “You get hit by it, you’re a gonner.”

Everyone gulps loudly. “N-noted. I’ll try not to get spat on.” Okay that’s gross and kinda worrying. Glad the Prince is on your side. “Well, uh... Mr. Supreme Kai, Mr. Kibito, you know we’ve kinda talked with deities before, right? Well... mostly mom and the others.”

“King Kai likes my jokes. Oh, also there’s a Goddess of Time, you know her?” mom questions.

The Supreme Kai does a double-take. “W-why has Chronoa-” His eyes then narrow. “...None of you have traveled through time, have you?”

Mom shakes her head. “Quite the opposite, in fact. Time Travelers came here... sorta by accident. Long story, but Beelzebub’s aunt is responsible for most of the time travel stuff, and... you called her Chronoa, yeah? Well, I guess she’s sent people to help clean up those messes.”

“We’re here.” mom states, everyone flying down lower. You see a small white structure in the distance, the “M” symbol adorning its top, Ledgic walking to it with a strange device... and Basilea leaning by the structure, looking in the distance. Your eyes trail over to where she’s looking-

“Hrk!” You cover your mouth as you see a couple corpses, a man and woman, no, a whole family... just torn apart. It’s horrific. Did... did she do that? Your stomach turns slightly as you force your eyes away.

The door opens, and out steps a giant red demon man with phenomenal strength. Beelzebub nearly stands up as he sees him, Maple pulling him back down. Guessing that’s Dabura. Accompanying him is a smaller individual, like some kind of yellow, shriveled prune. That’s... Babidi, you’d assume.

Ledgic hands over the container he was carrying, bowing to Babidi as Dabura glares at him. You notice Basilea clench her fists. She seems... angry. She then looks... right at you. RIGHT at you OH CRAP SHE SEES YOU.

...And she looks away. Dabura meanwhile seems to notice your group too... but he seems much more confused. Ledgic on the other hand turns quickly. And then he brings up his hand... CRAP HE’S FIRING A KI BLAST!

Crap! Cover’s blown! You jump up and fire a Ki blast at Ledgic’s, then power up and use it as cover as you yell out “Raio-ken!” and bolt down, trying to grab on to the Ki container... only for knock you aside, kicking you in the back of the head and into the dirt. Babidi chuckles as he looks down. “Well well well, aren’t you the spunky little monkey. I like him.” That... that voice... you’ve heard it before. Babidi then looks up at your group. “Quite a number of powerful fighters up there. Dabura. Ledgic. Kill the weakest... mm, three.”

“As you command, Master Bab-GHAK!” Mom teleports in and stops Ledgic with a palm strike that sends him back, grabbing you and pulling you away from them. Babidi enters his ship, laughing. That voice... that voice, it’s the one you heard back at the Tournament!

Dabura meanwhile tosses a barrage of spears upwards, trying to skewer your allies, Ledgic creating one of his own, pointing it at you and Maple. “...It has been a long time.”

“You’re better than this.” She glares him down. “You’re a proud warrior, and yet you let yourself get controlled.” You notice mom move her hand strangely, some Ki building up in her palm... but it feels different, somehow.

“What makes you think I’m being controlled? This symbol doesn’t own me.” He points to his head. “I merely have taken a new job, one more to my liking. So far it has not let me down. I always wanted to face you again... Maple Mahogany.”

You watch as your allies are unable to move from their position, spears digging through the rock, a few of them even striking Yamcha, Lapis, and Lazuli. So much for that plan. Tien isn’t able to get down, and mom’s busy protecting you. Agh, damn it! If only you could-!

“FAAAATHEEER!” Beelzebub roars out, the barrage of spears ceasing. Dabura looks up in shock as Prince Beelzebub leaps down from the cliff. He crosses his arms. “You have a LOT of explaining to do.”

“...My boy, is that really you?” he asks.

“It is. And YOU have a lot of explaining to do. You have been alive all this time, under the control of a creature as pathetic as THAT?!” he yells out. Beelzebub starts marching forward. “What happened to you?! Do you have ANY idea what aunt Towa has been doing in your absence? Where is the Demon King that ruled with an iron fist?!”

Babidi smirks. “I like this one too. Change of plans, come along, Dabura.”

The two of them enter the structure, Beelzebub yelling out, “I’M NOT DONE HERE YOU WALKING HAIRY BA-AGH!”

Basilea grabs him by the tail and tosses him aside. The Supreme Kai manages to get down and fire a couple Ki blasts that force her back. Curiously, you notice that she... doesn’t have one of those “M” symbols on her head. Both she and Ledgic move back, Ledgic still ready to strike at you and mom with his spear.

Up above you see Kibito tending to the wounded. Mom then telepathically contacts you, ‘Do what you can to distract them. I’m going to put my theory to the test, and free Ledgic.’

Okay, then you need to keep Basilea away from her! Here goes! As Babidi and Dabura travel down into the structure, your hair stands up as you transform into a Super Saiyan, tackling her away from Beelzebub and knocking her down. “So, you don’t have that mark on your head, where do you have it?!” you exclaim, confusing her thoroughly.

Her eyes narrow. “...I thought you were supposed to be the smart one.”

“Grades are higher than Peppa’s by a bit.” you tell her cheekily. Distraction working.

She holds up her hand. “Hell Blitz.”

A black and red Ki blast shoots forth, with you dodging it and racing around her, her anger building as she fails to land a blow on you, afterimages catching her off-guard and exploding on her. “RGGH... so are you more of a coward than him? Or is this more the result of living in your sister’s shadow?”

“Big talk for someone who got her butt kicked by her.” She wants to go with the low blows, you’ll go even lower. You grab her outfit by some of the waist furs, Basilea growling out at you and almost stabbing her hand into your throat, but you’re able to trip her up with a leg sweep and cause her to faceplant.

You see mom and Tien surround Ledgic, Lapis and Lazuli dodging around him, giving them a chance to try and grab hold with Yamcha. The Supreme Kai also helps out, thrusting his hands forward and telekinetically grabbing the alien, holding him in place. Ledgic responds to this by somehow shooting out a sword at him, stabbing him through the leg, but the Supreme Kai manages to hold him in place. With Ledgic pinned down, mom and Tien both place their hands on his head.

“Remember who you are! Don’t let Babidi control you! You’re better than this, I know you are!”

“LET... GO!” He tries to shake them off. “I SERVE... THE STRONGEST...”

“That isn’t what you set out to do! You set out to fight and improve! To be better, to fight stronger opponents and test yourself! You’re nobody’s slave! You need to remember that!” Maple and Tien seem to be getting through to him. “NOW! CURSE...!”

“BREAKER!”

A jolt of energy seems to travel down his body. Ledgic yells out in pain for a moment... but then stops, his eyes opening. “...W-what did... what did you do?”

Mom, Tien, and Yamcha let go of him. His hand rubs his forehead... and the mark is gone. His power’s dipped a little lower than before, but other than that he seems... normal. For relative term of it. Basilea looks up in disbelief... as you hear clapping.

Towa walks forward, flanked by Basilea... and a large figure you’d know immediately even if you’d never seen him before. A tall, black-haired man with a very displeased look on his face... a Saiyan. “Oh little Tuffle girl, you have no idea what I’ve been planning. Or rather... what WE’VE been planning. Isn’t that right... Broly?”

Beelzebub seethes as she walks forward. “You have some nerve showing your face-!”

“Save it.” Towa waves her hand dismissively. “You’d be dead the moment you tried it. And you dying would put a detriment in both your and my plans.”

“Princess Towa.” the Supreme Kai addresses, the Demon woman giving him a look of disgust, his attendant looking back at her like he’s ready to yell out a swears in a million different languages as he heals his master. “Why are you here? What do you want?”

Mom looks up at her. “Let’s say I humor you. What ‘game’ are you proposing?”

“Babidi has a little gauntlet of fighters ready for any intruders. I say we compete against one another in that gauntlet.” She looks over to Beelzebub, chuckling to herself. “The prize... I think we both know what it is.”

“Do you think Babidi would really agree to this?” mom questions.

Towa looks upwards, smiling smugly. “...It seems he does.”

“You’re not the type to gamble everything on this. What’s your real game here?” Beelzebub asks accusingly.

“That’d be telling, wouldn’t it?”

Kibito yells out at her, “This is an obvious trick! Do you take us for fools?”

Towa laughs at him mockingly. “I remind you all that your time is limited. Agree to this and that will be the extent of our involvement here. Otherwise... well, I can’t guarantee that this will go the way you want it to.”

Maple takes a deep breath, then looks at the Supreme Kai. “Stopping Buu’s resurrection needs to come first. And we still have Dabura under Babidi’s control... what do you guys say?”

Ugh. She didn’t deny it. Great. “Guess we don’t have much choice in the matter anyway. All right mom, I’m with you. I trust your judgement on this.”

“We’ll be able to handle whatever you or Babidi throw at us.” Yamcha calls out.

“Ehh... still don’t like this.” Lapis states.

“Same.” Lazuli agrees. “But I came here for a reason.”

“I wouldn’t let any you handle this alone. I’m in.” Tien affirms.

“...Tch. You better not pull any tricks with dad.” Beelzebub grumbles out.

“W-what are you all doing?!” Kibito exclaims. “Have you mortals lost your minds?! We just agreed that this is a trap-”

“No, I can see the reasoning behind this.” the Supreme Kai halts him. “It means we keep a close watch both on her and on Babidi. We can tolerate this, for now.”

“...As you wish, sir.”

You and mom nod at one another. “So how are we gonna do this, rock-paper-scissors, or...?”

“Something like that.” Towa seems way too proud of herself. “Be patient, Gohan.”

“Okay, how about you L-” The large blue alien pushes past you and your mother, his face stern and... more than a little upset. “...Ledgic? What are you doing?”

“Did I ASK for you to come and try to ‘rescue’ me?” he asks accusingly.

“But I-”

“But nothing.” Ledgic growls out.

“Hmnh. Just as I thought.” Broly adds in, his eyes narrowing. “You really can’t keep out of other people’s business.”

Mom quietly glares at the two of them, then shakes her head. “...Fine. I won’t press the issue.”

Ledgic looks over Broly for a second, apparently recognizing him. He then decides to stand beside him and Towa. “I guess you could say I’m in. And don’t think I’ll take ‘no’ for an answer.”

Towa gives an oddly friendly smile. “A temporary alliance. I can agree to this.”

“Keyword temporary.” Ledgic affirms.

Kibito and Beelzebub both look like they’re ready to chew him out, when Shin raises his hand to hold them back. “Is everything agreed upon then?”

“Yeah. Let’s do this.” Maple stands firm, fists clenched.

“Come along then.” Towa heads into the structure with her group, yours following... huh. It’s an elevator of some sort? Oh, wait, it’s just a hole in the floor. Weird. One after another you all leap down it.

“Well well well, you all took your sweet time.” Babidi’s voice calls out from the room you enter into, a circular one with a few doors on the sides. “And you agreed to her game? Perhaps I’ve overestimated the smarts of you lower life forms.”

Towa rolls her eyes. “Yes yes, they’re a bunch of idiots. Send out your first fighters already.”

One of the doors open. Out steps a man in white armor and blue jumpsuit, and behind him some... large blobby creature that jiggles as it walks, the both of them with an “M” symbol on their heads. The Supreme Kai is surprised to see them, while Mom scratches her own head as she watches the larger creature. “I... swear I’ve seen that thing before.”

“You have.” Towa affirms, smirking. “Now, who will it be? Which of your group wants to step forward to face these two? You’ll be competing directly against one of my allies as you do.”

Paper. Good ol’ Paper, just like uncle Acer taught you. They never expect Paper. Mom almost always picks Rock for some reason. And looks like so did Lapis and Lazuli. They both snap their fingers in disappointment as you grin cheekily, walking forward. “So, like, how’s this work exactly, Towa? Two on one, two on two...? And who’ll I be-”

“Paper!” Basilea and... Broly both shout out. And Basilea too picked Paper. Aaaand Broly picked Rock. He grumbles as he steps away, the demon girl looking at you and grinning sadistically. “Just my luck today. I get my chance to kill you at last.”

“You and Basilea will be competing against one another, then, as you both try to defeat the two before you.” she explains. “Best two out of three. Whoever takes out two opponents first will be the victor.”

Kibito and the Supreme Kai just... sort of stand there, stunned. “...They’re serious.”

“Mom, where might you have seen that thing before?” you ask Maple, pointing at the jiggling alien.

“Hmm... must have been from I was very young. Think it might be very resistant to normal attacks. Keep your guard up.”

“Hey! What am I, chopped liver?!” the other alien shouts out angrily.

“If that.” Basilea snorts dismissively, her eyes focused entirely on you.

“Why you...!”

Her dark aura surrounds her as she looks up, her Ki skyrocketing. “...Soon. Soon it’ll be all over.”

“You gonna comment cryptically on everything, or you gonna fight?” you ask as you power up yourself, hair going blonde as you transform.

“Fight?” Basilea repeats. “I’ll MASSACRE you, Gohan!”

“Haha NOPE!” you yell out as you jolt away from her, Basilea chasing you around the arena and trying to grapple you. The Chopped Liver alien tries to fire a few blasts at you, only for you to deflect them back at him, knocking him down as you get behind the larger alien. You stick your tongue our and blow raspberries at Basilea as the monster tries to grab you too, only for you to dodge it as well, keeping the bigger alien between you and Basilea as you smack around the other one.

“STAND STILL DAMN IT!” she yells out, throwing a fierce punch in your direction, only for it to hit an afterimage... that ends up with her fist getting lodged into the monster’s belly. And seems like it’s not that easy pulling it back out. The beast chuckles... then shoots blasts of lightning from its antenna at Basilea, shocking her, completely unphased by its own attack as electricity coats it. Well. Now that’s tricky.

Mom snaps her fingers. “Gohan! Your sword! Slice it!”

Ah, now there’s an idea! You take your stance, getting your blade out of its Capsule, and close your eyes. In one smooth motion, you slash forward with a draw-cut, crackling with Lightning to keep you safe from its self-electrocution, lopping off one of its arms. Basilea tries to pull her arm out again, and in rage opening her mouth wide and... biting down on the monster’s flesh, tearing it away to free her arm. It oozes out a strange fluid from its wounds, surprised that either of you could damage it.

Basilea spits out the chunk of flesh she tore off, then focuses back on you, letting out a blast of flames from her mouth. You leap up, then channel Ki through your sword, slashes of energy tearing through the monster, chopping it into pieces.

“That’s one." Towa comments, apparently amused by Basilea’s behavior. “Shame, too, Jigglers can be fairly useful... but they have their weaknesses. Also you really should hurry this along, my dear. You don’t want to be upstaged by this one too.” Basilea seethes, trying to lunge at you again. You just need to take out the other one and you’ll be good...

“MASTER BABIDI!” he calls out. “Please, allow me to take this fight to my world!”

Wait what?

“What’s so special about your world?” you ask him, trying to dodge Basilea as her attacks get closer and closer.

“Planet Zoon has gravity TEN times that of this world! You’d stand no chance there!” He laughs at this, like he doesn’t really realize the flaw in this logic.

“Only ten? Mr. Vegeta found a place with 900x Earth’s gravity. Did start with a ‘Z’ though.” you reply as you dash towards him. “I mean if, your master wants me to have a real challenge...”

‘Did it now?’ Babidi’s voice asks in your mind. ‘How interesting. But unnecessary.’

That distracts you long enough for Basilea to grab your tail and fling you down, slamming her fist into your gut to keep you down. You try to move, but can barely even block as she tries to pummel you. The demon girl gets up and tries to stomp down on you, but you roll out of the way just in time, then use the Raio-ken to bolt away from her and towards the other alien. “BURNING... CRUSHER!”

Grabbing on to him, you lift him above you and let out a firey blast that engulfs the alien. He’s blasted away from the raw power of your attack, only ashes remaining. You then look to Towa. She shrugs. “That’s two. Congratulations, Gohan.”

“Grrhh... you did well this time, but we’re not done just yet.” Babidi calls out to you all. The bottom of the floor opens up. “You may continue to the next set of challengers.”

You limp over to your mother, Basilea looking like she’s ready to attack you again, but Towa holds her hand up. “No. You know what we agreed to.”

“...Yes, ma’am.” she grumbles out, walking back to her group. “You got lucky this time, Gohan.”

“I’ll say.” you wheeze, holding your chest. Mom sits you down by her, healing your wounds a bit.

“We don’t have much time left, let’s continue.” the Supreme Kai requests, heading down first, Kibito and Beelzebub following as Towa’s group heads in after them.

Mom checks you over, making sure you’re okay. “...You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to, Gohan. I don’t want you to hurt yourself trying to impress us.”

“And hey, if you’d rather take a breather, I can understand.” Yamcha comments, patting your head.

“It’s, agh, more Towa’s group that’s the issue here. Those guys were, tch, kinda pushovers.” you tell her as your wounds heal up.

“That’s not what I mean and you know it.” Maple frowns at you.

You sigh loudly. “Hey, Basilea’s the maladjusted one. I’m not trying to hurt myself to impress you all, promise. I know how dangerous she is, I saw how she fared against sis. I acted accordingly.”

“Right. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t worry me, Gohan.” Mom stands up, looking over to the hole in the floor. She seems... distracted.

You stand with her. “Are you, uh, sensing anything from your Eightfold Path thing, mom? Foresight? Anything at all?”

She clenches her fists, notably not looking back at you. “...Yeah. I know Towa is up to something. I know Babidi is too. They’re both either plotting something together, or expecting to stab one another in the back as soon as it’s convenient. But... it’s weird, Towa isn’t usually this casual around us. Maybe she’s changed a bit, maybe she’s got some more nefarious goal in mind. All I know is that it involves more than just Dabura... potentially one of us. And that worries me more than anything.”

...She knows more than she’s letting on, but something’s worrying her. She’s trying to not tell you what it is. What’s wrong? She knows you can handle yourself, right? Or... is she trying to not say it aloud so it’ll attract attention? ‘Mom, they can’t read our thoughts, right? Come on, you can-’

Her head jolts up. “YAMCHA!” She grabs hold of your arm and teleports you both to Tien... and suddenly you’re in some pitch black cave. Wait, no, there’s a light so... s-s-source...
