You are Ushi Walker, the half-japanese/half-american wielder of the mighty quirk “Everything is Bigger in Texas", U.A High first year student, the winner of the tournament of the sports festival, owner of the most tattered hat you've seen, and connoisseur of the taste of your own soles.

While your talk with Pony didn't go as you hoped, at least she doesn't hate you.
After proving yourself on a one on what combat tournament, it's rather impressive how helpless you are as soon as it's not about beating someone up.

Still, it wasn't words what got you up that podium, standing in front of All Might himself and a fair number of camera crews.

The stadium cheers for you, as the hero waits for your reply to carry on with the ceremony.

On one hand, you could tell him that you have been taking wrestling, and that you wouldn't know what works from what doesn't without the chances to try it, but you get the feeling that he was just offering some guidance.

On the other hand, you have a moment in the spotlight within the range of a working mic.
It would be brief, but you could say basically anything and get it to be heard across the world…
But right now, you wouldn't trust yourself to say your full name without messing it up, and that's just four words!

Instead, you think of something far simpler.
The people who helped you get on that podium.

"....Ah just wanna thank mah Momma here." You say, finding your mother on her seat without much difficulty and waving at her before turning back to the cameras in front of you and waving at them as well. "And Pappa back home!"

"HAHAHA! It's good to keep in mind those who helped you on your way." The hero comments, staying just out of arms reach. "Never forget who is actually doing the leg work though."

"And gotten all them beatings too..." You reply, nodding before perking up, remembering another relevant person. "Oh! And my trainer at the dojo! Hi! Spring Tiger-sensei!"

For a second, All Might looks at you as if waiting for you to say something else before continuing.

"WELL, THESE ARE YOUR WINNERS!!" The No. 1 Hero exclaims, turning towards the cameras. "BUT HOLD ON, EVERYONE!"

He then motions to your classmates' seats with one hand, and class B's with the other.

"AS YOU ALL SAW, EVERYONE HERE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO EARN A SPOT UP HERE." He loudly announces, shifting his sight as he speaks and talking you all up to the crowd. "THROUGH COMPETITION, ENCOURAGEMENT AND PUSHING EACH OTHER TO EVER HIGHER PEAKS, THE SPROUTS OF TODAY SHALL GROW INTO THE HEROES OF TOMORROW!!"

"WITH THAT IN MIND, LET'S HAVE ONE FINAL CHEER!!" He says, pointing to the sky in such way that it looked like the sun itself was reflecting on his fingertip. "EVERYONE SAY IT WITH ME!! ONE , TWO, AND...!"

"PLUS ULTR-ah?!!!" You shout along many others, throwing your fist up in the air… then dropping the phrase in confusion as your voice is drowned by a much stronger one.

"THANKS FOR YOUR HARD WORK!!!!!" All Might shouts, causing the whole stadium to go silent for a minute before the crowd starts booing him.

You wouldn't believe it if you weren't there.

>"Everyone expects us to say "Plus Ultra", All Might!" Midnight chastises him from the sidelines as you and Fumikage share a confused glance.

"Yeah… Well, they did work really hard and… Uhm… Sorry?" Says All Might, the greatest hero in the country, meekly twiddling his fingers.

It seems to work though, as the booing immediately stops and the crowd returns to cheering.
To be fair, you'd have a hard time thinking of anyone who could stay mad at All Might.
Or of anything, really.
Thinking is hard.

With that and a couple more fireworks to accompany All Mights exit, Midnight leads you back to the gate.

>"Alright, all students have fifteen minutes to rest before returning to their classrooms, so feel free to roam around." Midnight explains as you all get into the inner stadium, outside of the public's view. "Don't worry about the press, the ones that made it through the barrier know how to behave themselves."

"Uhm… That's nice?" You say, tilting your head to the side, unsure of what to do with the time.

>"Regardless, I'll keep to the shadows." Fumikage asserts, crossing his arms and nodding before walking off, unlike Bakugo, who doesn't say anything just shoving his hands in his pockets and leaving.

Before you can leave however, Midnight places a hand on your shoulder and stops you on your tracks.

>"Just a second." She says, waiting for the boys to disappear into the stadium. "Just a word of advice for you. The press will keep its distance, but try to stay away from hotdogs and the like anyway, ok?"

It takes you a few seconds and a couple rounds of discoordinated blinking to come up with an answer, as your barely awake mind can't seem to find a reason for the request.

"Sure?" You say, mostly not look like a deer in the headlights and say something.

>"Alright... " She says, looking unconvinced. "Try to stick with someone, you look like you might drop at any second."

"Ah thought I looked fine?" You mindlessly reply, taking your medal and looking at your reflection.

Uh. It is solid gold. Or at least a solid metal that weighs as much.

>"Sure, like Yamada on mondays." She replies. "I'd bet you would fall asleep if you blinked too long."

"...Yeah." You reply slumping your shoulders, unable to argue against it.

>"...Well then, let's go find someone." She says, letting go of you and motioning forwards with her flogger. "It's my break too, but I can't say that and leave you alone."

"Thanks!" You tell her, taking the moment to catch up to her and hug her from the side.

>"...This is another thing you should try to not do out there." She says, patting your back.

"I'm cashing in my hug. Complaint to All Might." You tell her, not letting go.

>"...I think I know why." She says with what you are sure others would call a wicked smile. You just want to know how she does it.

After half a minute of quality hugging, you let go of her and proceed to walk by her side towards the exit, where some of your classmates seem to have gathered.

>"Well, isn't that convenient." Midnight comments, stretching. "I'm... going to get a coffee."

Looking to your left, you can see that Uraraka and Deku are just standing nearby, looking at the main school building in distance. If you had to guess, that's where Bakugo went...

Where's Iida though?

Looking to your right and a few yards into the distance, you can see what looks to be Mina shoving a box of Pocky in front of Momo and Kyoka's face.

And walking straight towards you, waving, is Kaminari…
Oh, yeah… You told him that you would think about going for a bite with him!

>What do you do?

>[Well, you aren't bedridden and he waited for you… Might as well accept! "Howdy!... Ah'm about to fall over, mind goin' for a coffee? All the sugah, no cream."]
>[You aren't really interested, but you could really use a bite and a coffee. "Heya, sugar! Wanna buy me a drink?"]

We’ll be busy passing the fuck out after school, but we can do 15-minute coffee break with him. It’ll be fun! He’s nice. Or at least, cute.

Though we should lean on him some about that prank. Some of the other girls got pretty uncomfortable.

Plus, we can ask him what he thought of the memo he got.

Did Mic die or something?
>>
I remember Ushi’s outfit’s hero-ness being a concern, so I drew a suggestion for a potential hero outfit. Since I have no colours I wasn’t able to colour it in, but the pauldron is blue, the star on it is white and the shoulder cape has 13 red-white stripes. The skintight bodysuit is white and stretchy so less energy is spent on making it big. Is this okay or too revealing for Ushi’s “I want to be seen as a person, not a hot cow” character?

You may be a bit beaten up, and your mind is certainly a tad foggy, but you are fairly sure you can still tell right from wrong...

>"Hey, Ushi!" Kaminari says as he approaches you, greeting you cheerfully. "You won't belie- Actually, it's not hard to believe at all. I found a place with seats in a festival! That's somewhat hard to do."

And leading a boy on… Well, that lands firmly on the "wrong" side of the scale.

Last year you might have taken advantage of it, but no one here deserves such a thing.
It doesn't feel good to do it, but you can't leave it for later without making it worse.

"Oh, hi… Kind of you to offer back then, but Ah'll pass. Sorry 'bout that." You tell him, offering a sheepish smile.

>"Oh." He says, his wide smile flickering down to a frown for an instant before returning by force, settling on a far more subdued smile as he scratches the back of his head. "...Is this because of the cheerleading prank? Or did I mess up something else?"

...Right.
People like to know why you shoot them down.

Not having to do this kind of thing in months and doing it tired does make it more awkward…

Although you had a year of practice on this kind of stuff, this has to be the first time you care for the boy you are letting down.

So you can do little but nervously cross your legs and dig at the ground with the tip of your pink sneakers.

"....Actually, Ah just dun think this would go anywhere... Sorry." You admit, offering a sheepish smile and a shrug. "Not really something you did… Although the cheerleading thing didn't help. Ah mean, Ah had fun, but lies are bad and all that."

It takes you all your willpower to not bite clear through your tongue after realizing you said that last part out loud.

>"Heh. I guess I didn't have all that much of a chance, didn't I?" He says with a small laugh, rubbing the back of her neck. "After the cheerleading event, I'm sure I went out of my league."

"Uh… Thanks, Ah guess?" You reply, not sure if it was a compliment.

>"I guess I better go now?" He says, stretching his arms to his sides a bit.

There's something off about it, but you do know what that gesture means! So, despite that tingle of unease on the back of your skull, you still reach back and pull him into a hug.

"Don't feel bad, sugar. It was… Nice." You tell him, patting his back for a couple of seconds before releasing the hug.

Oddly enough, he doesn't look sad anymore. Actually, he looks rather happy.

>"Eh, don't worry. I actually got farther than I thought I would!" He replies, giving you a thumbs up before swerving on his heel and turning his back on you. "You know, I think I saw Todoroki walking back to the school."

"Okay?" You quickly reply before he can take his leave, quickly walking away with spring in his step.

Besides, tired and sleepy, the only other word for your feelings would be confuse-

>"That could have gone worse." Midnight comments, leaning on the nearby stadium wall and scaring the bejesus out of you. "So close, yet so far..."

"YEEEP!?... Ah… Ah thought you were gonna go for a coffee?" You ask her, pinching your temples to keep your newly found headache from pushing the slurry that was once your brain out through your ears.

>"And miss out on this?" She says, snapping her flogger inches away from your nose before bringing it back to herself and hugging it. "Not a chance! Ah... The mishaps of young misguided love~ ...and LUST!"

"...What did Ah did?" You ask her, not liking what you're hearing.

>"Just gave a nice, warm hug." She tells you, waving her hand at you. "I'm sure he'll remember it... Tonight, most likely."

Again, you just tilt your head and blink, squinting at her to find some meaning in her words.

"...Ah dun get it." You tell her.

>"Don't worry, it's not important." Midnight tells you, stretching and taking a few steps towards the sweet smelling tents. "Now, about that coffee…"

It's the end of the Sports Festival, it's more likely to be a final message/info dump before getting cut loose. Forcing a bunch of tired kids to learn would be retarded. Have you ever had a field day at school where right afterwards the teachers forced you to learn about math?

Maybe it's just you, but this day feels like it has gone too long already.

You glance to your sides, watching Deku analyse the details on a rack of children's All Might masks while Uraraka... keeps her hands and sight away from any and all merch.

At the other, Mina is poking Momo with a pocky stick, apparently trying to get her to try the candy, while Kyoka takes one out of the box without Mina noticing.

It all looks fun, sure…

But you can't keep pretending to be okay for much longer, and you'd rather not fall like a ragdoll in front of any cameras, be it landing on your face alone or over one of your classmates.

Even sticking close to Midnight looks like too hard an ordeal right now, you think with a sigh.

So after taking stock of all that you'll be missing, you lift your gaze, to the frustratingly far away main building of the school, adjust your backpack straps and take a bold step forwards, out of the stadium's shadow…

And getting the full might of the sun to hit your tired eyes.

Starting to tear up a bit, you take off your backpack to find what remains of your hat, finding the usual slap-dash pile of shrunken junk replaced by what looks to be an organized system of sorts.

>"May I help you find something, Mistress?" Tin asks, rolling its tiny off-white metalic body out of an inner pocket. "You look tired. Why not take a break? You can leave all obligations on hold."

"Hat." You reply, watching it purposefully roll onto a pocket and pulling your tattered hat out before processing the rest of what it said. "Wait. Can Ah do that? How?"

>"Sure!" The tiny robot replies from within your backpack. "You just need to prioritize your own well being and comfort and disregard anyone else's requests or desires!"

"Uh… Not how the world works." You tell it, taking the thimble-sized piece of tenderized headwear and slowly enlarging it with more effort than you would feel comfortable admitting.

>"Mine does." The robot tells you in its androgynous young voice. "Have a nice day! I'll be close if you need me."

With that, it rolls back into the same pocket it came out before, fitting rather snuggly with a strap of velcro keeping it in place.

"...Gizmos." Is all you can say, throwing the still functional hat on and braving the road, trying to bump into the least amount of people possible as you return to the school.

After a brief stop at the changing room to change out of of your… Not-nice-smelling gym suit, apply fresh deodorant were needed and to get back into your comfy and fresh uniform, you return to Classroom 1-A.

The first time you came to this place, the huge door was the first thing to catch your attention, but you don't even look at it as you bash it in with your shoulder.

Luckily for you, the only two occupants don't seem too bothered by you barging in, as Bakugo doesn't even look at you, continuing to glare at his feet up on his desk, and Shoto just nods in acknowledgement that you are there before returning his attention to the window, gazing once more into the infinite as he introspects.

Or broods. It's very likely they are both just brooding.

However, your attention isn't for them, but for your closest friend and companion in the classroom, the marvel of japanese engineering that is your chair.

It may not have all that much padding, but the suspension makes it as comfy as any chair can be, especially now, as you plop your rump on it and yawn, letting all the lethargy and tiredness you were holding back to take over, collapsing on your desk.

>"...No." You hear someone say as you recover some measure of consciousness. "Yaoyorozu."

>"Wake up, Ushi." You hear Momo's voice as someone gently shakes your shoulder. "We all will be going home soon."

"There's kinda… There's kinda an ocean in the way." You groggily reply, stretching up your arms as you clear your head and look around.

...Everyone's here. All of your classmates are on their seats but Iida, leaving empty the chair on seat 4…

But Mr. Aizawa is here, looking at you with a blank expression…

"...Sorry." You say sheepishly, fighting the urge to shrink yourself.

>"...Now that you are all here and conscious, let's go over the announcements." Your disheveled homeroom teacher announces, looking down at a small pile of documents in his hand. "In light of the festival, you'll have tomorrow and the next day off to recover."

He then flips to the next page.

>"Your scouting reports and such will be waiting here for you when you return, so you can look forwards to that as you enjoy your time off." He announces, looking down again to the papers for a moment before letting them fall on his desk. "That's all. There were no classes today, so there's nothing to clean either. Go home."

No one needs to hear it twice, but even those who were still chipper and loud didn't run out into the halls.

Considering you feel like spaghetti al dente as you plod your way back to the great school's gates, you can't say it isn't a welcome break.

And getting back to the house doesn't look like it'll be an issue, as your mother is just as easy to spot in the crowd as she always is. The fact that she's wearing a white shirt with "<Go Ushi!>" written on it makes it even clearer.

"Howdy Ma'!" You greet her once you are close enough, getting her to almost drop her cardboard cup. Tea, by the smell. "Did ah did good?"

Maybe holding your hands behind your back and puffing out your chest wasn't needed, but you worked hard for that golden bit of metal, and you are going to show it off!

...Then she just drops her drink to pull you into a warm but far too strong hug, finishing the tenderizing of your muscles.
>>
>"How's my little… CHAMPION!" She says, practically swinging you from side to side. "Ah was so worried! But you pulled through!... Ah don't know what I'd have done if Ah had to go get you from the infirmary!"

It takes her a minute, but she eventually lets you go, looking you up and down and letting her ears drop as she grabs your chin and examines your face.

>"Oh dear. Let's get you back to your bedroom." She says, taking the lead and marking the rhythm with her bell, beckoning you to follow her to the car.

Momma a besto.

Okay, good, thanks. I was gonna say watch the news in case it has anything on Stain, but that would be metagaming.

On that note, what are everyone's thoughts on the internship? If I remember rightly there was no real general consensus, but in my opinion going with Shoto to Endeavor's would be best (although that's probably just because I want to fight Stain).

You've always been taller than most girls you age, one of many things you've always attributed to being your momma's daughter. Which is pretty damn weird, considering your legs are completely different.

In a way, her hocks make her look like she was always wearing the highest of heels, giving her one hell of a stride. That meant that she would quickly leave you behind after a couple steps, especially now that you are sore all over.

However, that only happens for a couple of steps, as she stops the moment she can't find you, her ears swiveling and turning before her head does, looking over her shoulder.

She doesn't say anything, but extends an arm towards you and waits for you to catch up, draping her arm around your shoulders and her tail around your waist.

She may not be a licensed hero, but it's hard to not feel safe with her watching over you.

"Thanks for being here, Momma." You tell her, being both eager and honest.

>"Well, of course Ah'd be here. Where else would Ah be?" She replies, running her fingers through your hair. "You've already gotten farther than Ah ever did, and pardon me if Ah got this wrong, but this was meant to be your first great public showin' of what you can do! Ah couldn't miss it!"

"Not that… Well, that too, but Ah didn't mean just that." You tell her, pointing your fingers in one direction, then in the opposite, and finally weaving them all together as you find your words. "Ah mean, thanks for being here with me… Ah reckon it's just plain nice havin' a piece of home here at this side of the pacific."

You then throw your fists up in front of yourself, in a lousy imitation of a cross block, looking at her as you do.

"Makes it that much easier to leave it all on the field, you know?" You continue, letting your hands fall to your sides as you lower your voices volume. "...Just knowing that no matter how bad Ah mess up, you'll still be here."

Your words stun yourself for a moment, but they don't seem to shake your mother nearly as much.

>"Never forget that." She tells you, flicking the back of your hat with her tail and making the brim fall over your eyes. "Although "Ah love you ma'" would've done it. The rest comes implied."

"...Ah love you momma." You say, pointedly ignoring what the onlookers in the parking lot may think.

>"Ain't that much easier, you silly?" She replies, pulling you closer for a short hug. "Ah love ya too."

>"Now get in the car, you need a sandwich and some bedrest." She says as you finally reach the tiny red smart car.

If there was ever proof that no one cares about minor public quirk usage, it would be that no one question how your mom can fit in there, let alone drive the damn thing. Yet she could regularly load groceries in it without anyone batting an eye.

Luckily for you, you can ride shotgun without having to use your quirk to get in. Even your fingertips are sore, and you just opened a door!
>>
And much like on your own chair, you can't help it when your eyelids refuse to raise again after blinking.

>"...And a shower." You hear your mom mumble as you drift back into sleep.

Unlike your previous impropentu nap, you aren't woken up by anyone shaking you up, but by the distressing feeling of free falling, following by the bounciness of your mattress.

You won't admit to squeaking like a rubber toy, but you were certainly startled when your mom dropped you on your bed.

>"Sorry! Hard to look down and all that…" She apologizes, quickly standing ramrod straight, and practically prancing towards the door, making her bell ring. "Ah'll leave you to rest. Ah need to get so many things for breakfast!"

For a second, you wonder what would happen to your dinner, then your stomach kindly, loudly and unquestionably makes you know that anything more strenuous than chicken noodle soup wouldn't be kept.

That makes sleeping the evening away sound like the best idea, but having just had two naps, it's not as easy anymore to drift away.

Instead, you rummage in your pockets for your phone, sliding straight to the browser.

The news headlines are as predictable as a house tour, with things like "As expected: Battle hardened class steals the podiums at UA's Sports Festival", "American student takes japane's youth greatest award, are our curriculums too lax?" and "Hero killer strikes again at Hosu, Ingenium's future on the line." So you just swipe past it all, looking for forums and public comment sites.

Places where you can see what people actually think about you. ...r performance. Yep. That's what you are looking for.

But wherever you look, the posts seem to be... biased.
It's quite the ego boost to see hero otakus theorizing about your quirk and praising your speed and quick thinking, but half the posts seem to be missing, deleted by moderation.

And some small mutant groups claiming Fumikage's, Pony's and your own place as victories brought a smile to your face, but it all feels sterile.

You aren't All Might and you are not perfect, yet most users seem to either praise you, stay neutral or not talk about it at all. That won't do.

It takes you like whole five minutes to find a site with little to no moderation, and that was pretty much your last option.

Last time you checked 2^2channel, you ended puking into the sink, but not this time!
You just won! There's a shiny chunk of metal…

You take a moment to take of the medal, pulling the now warm golden disc from your cleavage and leaving it on your nightstand.

Nothing can pull you down now!

>"Those horns look fake as fuck."
>"The only reason Yaoyorozu lost is cause she got caught off balance. Leave it to a mutie to fight brains with pure aggression. Yeah, pretty sure they're wooden."

...And the first exchange you lay your eyes on makes your eyelids twitch and blow steam off your nose.
THEY AREN'T FAKE!
>>
Then there's a brief discussion on whether your mom is related to you, with someone on the stadium taking pictures.

That one manages to calm you down before it returns someone puts forward the theory of Yu being your mom. Thankfully, it quickly gets shot down by common sense, as Mt. Lady is in her early twenties.

The next posts related to you are about pics of you with your jacket open, but clearly focused under your bra and above the belt.

...Which confuses you. Apparently, there's a chunk of the internet more interested in your abs and back muscles than the obvious.

No idea what to think about those ones, other than a bit of pride, receiving praise for something that actually takes effort and work.

Then your mood goes down again, as someone tries to recontextualize your fight with Momo as a fight for dominance. Over Shoto. You really hope they are joking…

The next one flat out puzzles you.

...Why does a thread about a third year student winning naked show up in your search?

Oh.

A quick read brings it back to what discussion about you usually is. Apparently, they'll miss "Naked Guy", but hopefully "Naked Girl" will replace him. It's of course, posted alongside a pic of you holding your torn bra together with an arm.

Wonderful. Maybe you'll get Mei to look into some sort of indestructible bra and get it approved by next year! How would they like that!

>"I for one welcome our large breasted amazonian american cow woman overlord"

"Okay..." You say out loud, looking at that post.

...There are a fair number of suggestions that would land everyone in jail, but at least they aren't mean spirited, or objectivizing.

Asking yourself WWMD, you decide to take it as a compliment. Apparently, there are people who want to be beaten up by a girl, in a more direct way than in Midnight's schtick.

Lastly, you look at a new thread, talking about the highlights.

>"I mean, the funniest was definitely <Yao v Cow>" Suggests someone, posting a small video file.

Tapping it shows a sped up version of your fight with Momo, with a squeaky toy sound effect added to when she hits the wall.

You didn't laugh, but you had to pull your lip down with your finger. No smirking at others suffering. That's not nice.

>"Dumb cow bitch. Yao should should have won" Someone replies. But before you can get upset, the replies to that are…

>"Don't be mean to Cow."
>"Cow is great, haters are dumb"
>"In a real fight no one would last a second against Best Cow."
>"In a real fight Best Cow would immediately crush her foe with her tits"

...Positive?

It's clear you still have image issues to overcome, but Best Cow is still better than burger filling or whatever the they thought of you last time.

...And then a clip of you eating sushi appears, bringing back the raunchy comments.
You make it a point to not look up what "<vore>" is.
Looking up four letter words has never worked out for you.

First vignette. I'm not dead, just having a bit of trouble organising my time.
---
>"Hey Red! I can't understand the fuck they 're screamin'!" A rather tall black man shouted, taking a pause to uncap his beer with the edge of his seat. "And I can't see yer bloody kid!"

>"Maybe if you could start wearing your PPE and stop starin' at the damn welder all the time, you'd see the the purple kid sealin' the gate!" Johnatan replied, snapping the cap off his bottle with his thumb. "Ah swear to god you are half-blind already, Soot."

>"And the good doc agrees!" Soot tells him with a laugh. "That still doesn't look like your tyke though!"

Were it not for three reasons, Johnatan would have slammed a palm on his face. The first would be that he hadn't been able to do that since he was eight years old without making his nose into a bloody faucet. The second was a bit more important, being that the drunkard next to him was one of his best friends, if not his best friend outright. They had spent close to two decades getting on each other's nerves.

But the third he wouldn't say out loud, being the reason he just kept drinking without any comebacks.

He couldn't see his little girl either.

Sure, he could see what she had done, but he lost track of her immediately after.

It was troubling, to say the least. He had gone out of his way to bring an actual T.V. to the workshop and send the rest of the skeleton crew home to watch Ushi on such a big… night.

With the expo coming up in just a few weeks, even nights were precious.

...Just not as precious as his little hero. The model could wait.

>"Nevermind, that's gotta be Ushi, right?!" Soot suddenly shouts, pointing his bottle at the screen and spilling what little was left in the thing. "That or that kid has a monster truck quirk."

Johnatan just crushed the bottle like it was nothing, his large bark-covered arms being far too tough for the glass to embed into.

Now that the tall, motor-legged boy was enormous, the camera could find Ushi riding on his shoulder.

>"Clever little devil..." Was all he could say before throwing his head back in a bout of proud laughter and thunderous clapping.

Why did he ever think a race would give her any trouble? She could win it without even running in it!

Although he would have a talk with Kat about Ushi letting boys too close soon, tonight was for cheering her on in spirit.

The first event was the best, he thought as he clutched his plushie close.

Zooming around each other and avoiding the obstacles was fun to watch, seeing the older kids do their thing was all so exciting to Angus!

>"That one's like us!" He told his father a while ago, hopping towards the T.V and jabbing the screen with his finger. "Kinda?... Where are her hooves? And this one's are wrong!"

It was just when the first years entered the stage, before the angry kid made everyone mad that he found the blonde, horned girls.

>"Ah know that one. The… uhm… curvier one." His father replied, pulling him back from the the T.V. and back to the couch. "That's your cousin Ushi."

Angus then spent a full minute watching his cousin on T.V. as she strutted into the stage before waiting for her class representative to give his speech, then stomping when he did.

>"...So what's her name?" He had to ask, tilting his head to the side and flicking his ear.

>"Ushi, her name is actually Ushi." His father told him, absentmindedly pinching the bridge of his nose, not stopping to think what pinching a recently bandaged wound would feel like. "AGH! FUCKING SHIT! FUCK!"

>"Sorry! I'm sorry!" Angus shrieked back, hugging his plushie and pulling his tail close to himself, pointing it at the ceiling.

>"Eh… Calm down! It's okay! Ah'm okay! Calm down! Ah'll…Ah'll just go swap these at the bathroom before Ah make a mess off the carpet..." The bull said, waving his arms in front of his kid in what hoped would be a calming manner, keeping an eye on the groaning ceiling. "Just… keep an eye on your cuz while Ah'm gone, so you can tell me all that Ah miss, okay?"

While Angus liked many things, being alone wasn't one of those… But he could do his father a favor, and he was interested in knowing more about this cousin.

So when his sire left the room, the young boy took a deep breath and tried to calm down, focusing on the T.V.

He winced at what happened to the poor purple boy, and feared the worst for the event, but he soon found himself leaning to the sides as the cameras followed the students.

The robots startled him, and the pit made him a bit nervous, but seeing his cousin ride the tall, engine-legged boy across the course kept him in invested.

It was the… blandest?... In a way the least cow cow he had seen, even with her name being cow, but still a cow nonetheless.

Maybe that was the reason she was on T.V. He couldn't imagine any girls from his community putting themselves in danger, nor anyone allowing it.

The cavalry battle was too chaotic for him though, at least at the start.

Once the giant pink moth girl took the center stage, then he could root for his cousin's team, raising his plushie over his head as the other kids tried their best to take the headbands from her, until the last few minutes.
>>
It was when the green boy left his team to fly towards Yaoyorozu he started worrying again, and it only got worse when his cousin jumped in front of her.

>"No! You'll…! Someone!" Was all he could babble as the green boy was about to crash into her, before a burst of flames came from the giantess' other shoulder and dropped him.

But then he swam through air and knocked her down! Somehow!

If Nanny were a real sheep, he'd likely have choked her then, but his plushie endured, helping him get through to the end of the event and the ensuing break.

>"...Were you yelling at the T.V. just a tad ago?" His sire asked as he returned to the room with fresh bandages on his face.

>"...No?" Angus lied, holding his tail in his hand.

>"...Alright then, what did Ah miss?" The older bull asked, trying to let himself fall on the couch next to his kid, only for the later to hop off the couch and start acting out the events with his sheep plushie.

While he still had no idea of what he was doing and hoped his sister would help him out, he was getting used to the little guy.

Why does everyone think that the UA festival is for every part of the world? It just cover japan. Because if it was the world Ushi would know about it and not be confused about what it was when Aizawa spoke about it in class.

Hey Mic considering both sides have a large amount of support you think we could just get both at this point so that we can actually get in another post before this thread falls off page 10 because it keeps becoming a tie?
>>
>>3154910
This board moves slow enough that we’ll surely get both before we fall off anyways.

Maybe even the class perspective too. I’m fine with taking some time to give this arc a proper epilogue.
>>
>>3154936
I am too, but it just seems rather pointless to wait for one to finally pull ahead then just have us vote for the one that didn't win afterward it is pretty obvious that we want them both at this point.
>>
>>3154943
>>3154936
I agree with both of you. I'd prefer Spring Tiger if I had to choose, but at this point both sides have too much support to really ignore given the fairly even split. Having both is better anyway.
>>
>>3154944
I’m pretty sure we’re just voting on what order we’re getting them in, which is fine by me.

If anything made The Tigers' Den special, it was how the dojo managed to be so affordable, selective and well equipped. In fact, getting to learn that secret was the only reason anyone in the business ever approached them, since they didn't host any events themselves.

As one of the very few sensei to teach in the dojo, Spring Tiger knew.

It was a labor of love.

A somewhat calm place for the owner and those close to him to train and teach those who they considered a worthwhile trainee.

>"Sensei! I can't focus!" One of said trainees screamed, pressing her palms against her ears. "Please! Stop that thing!"

With a heavy sigh and just about the same level of frustration the huge girl in front of her was showing, Spring Tiger activated her quirk, perfectly mimicking a ringside bell.

>"I think we are done here, then." She said, trying oh so hard to ignore the source of their shared frustration as she grabbed her towel. "Go take a shower or something, I'll see you next week Akahoshi."

>"Do you think it'll have stopped by then?" The trainee asked back, taking off her mask and letting her gritted teeth show.

>"I don't know!" Spring Tiger yelled throwing her arms over her head. "It's been ringing for hours now!"

Normally, the dojo would only get calls when looking for students, after distributing flyers.

BUT NOW THE DAMNED THING WOULDN'T SHUT UP!

The point of having one-to-one classes was to be able to focus on each of her trainees individually, but that went straight out of the window thanks to the unceasing ringing, the whole evening had been a waste of time for everyone involved.

>"Does that mean I can go home now? My head's pounding." The other woman working at the dojo asked, clicking her mandibles as she pushed her mop bucket cart.

>"Yeah, fuck off Buggy." The wrestler replied, taking off her mask and waving her off with her free hand."

>"Love you too, Harui." Said the bug faced woman, turning her cart around.

>"...You are lucky I took off the mask." The teacher jokingly threatened, before retiring to her office, the closest point of origin for all the commotion.

She looked at the small unassuming machine and its digital display, trying to put a number to the calls she'd have to look through when she felt like doing so.

The small display was flashing red, as the tiny screen couldn't reach the necessary third digit, simply flashing a pair of nines as the number of messages recorded on the answering machine had clearly reached a the triple digits. There was little she could do but sigh.

>"...Aw." She let out, before looking over her shoulders.

Nothing but old masks and pictures there, lining the walls of her personal office. Even without any witnesses, she felt the need to hide the phone and answering machine behind her back before pulling the plugs.

Finally able to get some peace of mind, she let herself fall on her chair, rubbing her temples.
She'd have to deal with that later, but she had nothing to do for the rest of the day.

Maybe now she could watch how the U.A. Sports Festival had gone some hours earlier. Not her kind of event, but she had some personal investment this time.

After getting the VoD on her computer, she took a simple notepad and a pen and smirked at her reflection on the black screen, before tapping the spacebar and putting pen to paper.

>"Let's see what I've got to roast her over." She said, quickly letting her smirk fade away into a grimace.

She was only interested in the fights she knew had to happen at the end, not on Present Mic and his narcoleptic companion's introduction and commentary, so she fast-forwarded through that.

The race was almost just as useless to her. Almost.

>"Running, ice… Uh. so that's what she does." She noticed, tapping her screen as Walker spun around and enlarged a weird purple midget before leaving him stuck on the gate. "Cruel, but practical... Still quirk crap though."

Professionally, she couldn't care less for non-mutant type quirks. Everyone may be born different, but martial arts had always been about training and skill, not being able to fart lightning.

As a citizen, it was an impressive quirk to see in a hero-to-be.

Still, not being what she was interested in, she continued to watch it in fast forward, going through the cavalry battle in the same way.

>"So she can shrink too." Spring Tiger pointed out, slamming the space bar on a frame near the middle of the event, as Walker loomed her shrunk and entangled teammate. "Uh… That's kinda creepy."

Having noticed that, she continued her accelerated viewing, impatiently tapping her pen on the notepad, giving nervous glances to the temporarily dead answering machine.

After skimming through hours of footage in minutes, she finally landed on the first fight, watching it intently, then again at half speed.

>"Spear, not a bad idea, but needs to practice her footwork. Yaoyorozu almost dodged it." She jotted down, adding a small box to the side. "Did she saw a spear coming, or a goring charge?"

>"Needs to know how to properly initiate a mount." She added another line, doodling how it she should have done.

Then she thought back to the trick rope used by Walker's foe. Not something she'd normally train anyone to deal with, something that by all rights should be taught at U.A. but she would gladly teach her how to disarm someone if needed.

...If she doesn't want to turn them into human-sized bags of red jello, that is. Not the prettiest end to a fight she had seen, but at least no one had died.

>"Make sure she limits herself properly." She wrote, thinking back to previous training session. Back then, the impact sensor on the dummy registered her piledriver could have broken its neck, had it been a person. Then again, the dummy never even tried to mitigate the impact.

Again, she wasn't interested in the rest of the kids, fast forwarding to her next fight.

>"...No further comment." She says, not touching the paper with her pen.

The start and the end of the fight were all about how she could abuse her quirk, but between them, she performed a perfectly competent piledriver and leg lock. If anything, she was surprised at how good that Todoroki kid was at taking hits.

That flex at the end…
That gave her a twinge of jealousy.
You weren't allowed to have that much definition, keep that much fat and be strong enough to pull that kind of stunt. It wasn't fair.

Shaking her head, she fast forwarded again to her pupil's next match.

>"...Blocking and dodging." She wrote down in letters twice the size of the rest of her notes. "AND WHEN.

Sure, she could take a hit, but she kept trying to intercept Tsunotori head on, when she could have easily knocked her on her back with a lariat without getting the manure kicked out of her.

With a hand on her face, she fast forwarded to finals.

This one almost made her drive the pen into her eye when she put both hands over her face.

How did Ushi of all people, think that was a good idea!? It was a miracle that that fabric held on for as long as it did, but she left very little to the imagination.
At least, anyone who would think of trying anything on the girl would had seen how much power she was packing.

She left the video play as she drafted a plan for her next couple lessons, only lifting her head when she recognized All-Might's voice. Everyone has time for All-Might.

It was nice to see her thank her family. She didn't have be a Yamato Nadeshiko to be a nice girl, a message that she as a female wrestler had always tried to convey.

"Oh! And my trainer at the dojo! Hi! Spring Tiger-sensei!" Walker said at the camera.

How nice of her to remember and thank you too… by stage name… In front of the cameras.

Slowly, she turned towards the unplugged phone before raising her notepad.
Slowly, she checked the repetitions of all she had planned for her, then added a zero to the right of each of the repetitions.

It was with a scowl that Endeavor wandered towards the highest seats of the stadium. However, it wasn't a particularly angry one, he just didn't want to see All-Might on stage while he was thinking.

He wasn't surprised at the end of Shoto's last match. While he hadn't expected that outcome, he already knew Shoto wouldn't be able to get any further without accepting his legacy and starting to use his power, and Walker was no pushover, else he wouldn't have brought her near Shoto in the first place.

However, the fact that Shoto had resorted to use his flames during the cavalry battle to protect her had given him some measure of hope. A rather foolish hope, he now realized.

The boy knew his mastery over his right side was enough to beat most of his peers, even if his performance during the tournament was sloppy. Letting the laser kid score a hit? Shameful.

Still, of all the kids on the tournament, there were four at most that could have beaten his ice, so his confidence wasn't unmerited.

"But he had to go and hold back against the one kid he knew could keep up with him." He murmured through gritted teeth. "Maybe now…"

Perhaps now, having being defeated on stage Shoto would accept his quirk and start training with his left side, he thought. But no, he already knew that Shoto wouldn't overcome his petty spite for him on his own.

Was he actively ignoring how far had his training got him!? Even with his stupid handicap he left the winner of the tournament barely moving.

But he was not mad. Not pleased, not even close to that. Ideally, Shoto would have realized his folly on his own and gone back to the path he set for him, to claim his destiny…

But plan B was working, even if not in the way he had initially hoped.

Walker wasn't the obedient girl she looked like at their first meeting, almost making him throw her away for her stubbornness.

But thinking back to that flame during the cavalry battle... Well, it was easy to smirk.

She may not listen to him, but she still was setting an example for Shoto to follow, and the boy listened to her, cared for her.

If he kept both of them together, soon enough Shoto would start using both of his sides.

If he didn't on his own, she exposed the first crack on Shoto's indifference in years, and he would have no qualms using that to get him to react.

From behind the row top of seats of the stadium, he could see her smile from the top of the podium, and her cheering mother some rows below.

"What do wayward cows like?" He wondered, trying to think what kind of gift would bring their families together.

He didn't have the time nor patience to try plan C, but it wouldn't hurt to set it up if the worst came to be.
