Ok everyone, I said I was going to start Friday so here I am! We will be having a break at 7:30est to 9:30est because I think I will be driving then. If not I'll post of course.

Rules:
>1. I have final say in shit.

>2. We will be rolling with a 1d20 for actions. I’m just use to them thanks to my career as a DM.

>3. I aim to have updates fast since I will only host for a day, so expect maybe 15-20 min between them.

>4. Combat will be written to consist of “3 rounds” based on the tactic chosen. You guys will understand once I start writing them.

>5. There will be times I ask for an amount of actions. Assume the highest rated actions will be chosen unless it conflicts with rule 4.

>6. I expect to see some great recommendations, so if something's very smart or funny, I will host a 5-10 min revote.

Rictor was a man of a staunched discipline. Some may call him eccentric while others would have called him the same. It never really mattered to him, only his work. His work however needed some help.

When he heard of the Holy Grail War years ago, he stalked the scene waiting for his opportunity to join. Yeah recently there were a plethora of wars, but something in his gut said 'These are not real Holy Grail Wars'. Luckily his never failed him.

Now he stood behind a Man, a Master. The fool never thought of covering his Command Seal, which allowed the Dead Apostle to find him.
>>
>>3110727
How should VIctor kill him?
>A quick slice of the neck, make it a quick death.

>We only need the Seals, take his arm off.

>Drain him dry.
>>
>>3110728
>A quick slice of the neck, make it a quick death.
We don't know if he has allies, and as far as I'm concerned, if we let him live or give him a chance to survive he might come back to hunt us down out of vengeance.
>>
>A quick slice of the neck, make it a quick death.

Rictors quickly sliced the man's head clean off without a second though. It would be better to kill your enemies quick than play with your food.

He looks down at the puddle of blood and meat, but cares not for that. Instead, he slices the hand off the dead man.

Now in possession of Command Seals, Rictor finally has a chance to look around. Scattered were the notes of some kind. Of course Rictor could just leave.

>Study the work
>Leave
>Write in
>>
>>3110815
>>Write in
Take the notes and leave. Unless they have some kind of tracking magecraft attached to them that is.
>>
>>3110815
>Study the work, a quick scan should suffice to see what the man was looking into before his demise.
>Grab some of the notes and leave if they're relevant to our work.
>Also look into grabbing a sawed-off double barreled shotgun with dragon's breath rounds.
Too much or not enough?

"It would be a waste of paper to leave these behind." With a smirk Rictor collected the man's notes.

From a quick glance, this man was an instructor at the Clock Tower. As he continued quick glances, he learned of where the war was going to be, Trifas, Romania.

He has a small urge to purchase a Sawed Off Shotgun, but decides to wait till later. Maybe he can make a Shotpuppet.

What SHould Rictor do?

>Go to Romania

>Go buy the shotgun from the black market

>Summon his Servant.

>Write in. Give me stuff everyone, This gets stupider the more crazy shit you give me.
>>
>>3110921
>>Go to Romania
If the war is gonna be in Romania we need to find a base so we can prepare the territorial fields
>>
>>3110921
>Go to Romania
It’s been a minute since I’ve even though about Romania, but I suspect the Romanian illicit firearms market will be better than it is wherever we are now.

Then after buying the shotgun
>"Write-in" Try to get some normal human foods for the potential servant if they want to eat.

>Go to Romania
We got what we needed, now let's go.

>>3110932

I highly agree with you on that front.

While Rictor needs to prepare for the war and buy groceries, there are many things he needs to have a foothold before buying stuff and defiantly summoning his Servant.

He takes a plane towards the lands of Romania, coming to the local area near Trifas. Looking at a map, he notices a number of locations he could use to set up camp and fight.

>Take over a house in the hilly area to the north.

>Set up camp in Trifas, the enemy would never expect him there.

>The woods to the East seem dense and hard to navagate, maybe that is a good place to go.

> Search for a Farm Stead in the West. While in the open, your magic could easily make it more defendable.

>Set up in Some Random Town the OP forgot the name of.

>Any other idea?

If theres a better map of this region post it and I might use it instead. This was just something I made on Gimp.

>>
>>3111045
>>Any other idea?
Maybe look for an abandoned castle, it's Europe, there's tons of castles there
>>
>>3111045
There wouldn't happen to be an abandoned mine now would there? Because if there is then we already got the basics for a base that can be easily defendable albeit not as glamorous as say a house or castle.

Not a fan of the mine desu. A single Anti-Fortress NP would bring it right down on our heads.

That's why you have the tunnels lead to everywhere. So you don't stay entirely in the mines like a rabbit in a burrow.

It makes sense in character for him to go innawoods.

Deciding to check out the wood, Rictor decideds the woods would make the best cover. Even while close to Yggdmillenia, the nastogia and his abilites seem to favor such a place.

Being near the Yggdimillenium fortress, Rictor decided now was the time to summon his Servant.

Within his hands was the skeletal hand of Ibaraki-Doji. Rictor look to the side at the small batch of groceries that he grabbed. He remembered hearing that some Servants want to eat stuff. If Rictor had more time however, he could have more but a few chocolates should do.

Rictor arrange the sigil of the summoning made from the blood of humans. With a deep bellow, he called forth to the Grail, lights seemingly dancing off the walls.

It rose in a crescendo, the light becoming almost blinding to the Dead Apostle. The amount of mana he was putting into this event was astronomical because he wanted to get this right the first time.

A burst of energy came forth, which would have knocked a mortal man across the room. Rictor however was no mortal, but a Dead Apostle. And now he looked forward towards his summoning.

Yellow, banana like hair. Horns sticking out of the forehead. She was a slender girl, but beautiful in an inhuman way. Rictor could only smile as he succeeded.

"You have summoned the Oni ring leader of the Mountain, Ibaraki-Doji!" The summoned Servant puffed her chest forward with a sign or pride, "I ask you human, are you foolish enough to be my master, Ahahaha!"

Never played 5th edition, didn't mentally click with me like the others did. So it's probably why I'm thinking that taking only the first roll in a quest kinda sucks since I'm not connecting the system you're basing it off of with the concept of a quest.
>>
>>3112226
Ok.

>>3112234
I don't think anyone has ever used a real system to run a quest.
>>
>>3112234
Yeah I'm working off of this system because I convert Servants really easily.

For an idea, rolling 2 dice is with 'Advantage' or 'Disadvantage'. These are imposed by things such as being blind, knocked down, poisened, attacking a guy who's on the ground, Attacking one who is paralized, and attacking from stealth.
>>
>>3112259
5e is a dreadful system for everything.
Bo3 is a thing people use in most quests to both increase user participation and make it so quests last longer without the player dying (no killing yourself off by rolling low of which there's a 25 percent chance)
A few QMs make exceptions when a 1 is rolled even on Bo3 so they take the 1.
You only had to lurk, OP.
>>
>>3112370
Yeah taking the first roll on 4chan generally does not go well. There's a reason it's never used.
>>
>>3112370
I guess I can do best of three. I am admitivly new to 4chan so I will take it as a new experience.
>>
>>3112404
I mean feel free to set higher DC's and shit. This doesn't have to be easy for us or anything. I'm totally fine with a difficult quest, rife with danger
>>
>>3112404
Bo3 really is best just in terms of player participation, I can’t imagine anyone really cares if you balance the DCs to make it just as difficult as 1d20
>>
>>3112404
Welcome then.
Don't let our bitching get you down, see what works and what doesn't and keep chugging along. Hopefully we don't chase you away like the last 4 Fate quest authors.
>>
>>3112468
OP should be fine as long as no triggered lore autists show up.
Or he does something that breaks everything like introducing Merlin as a villain.
>>
>>3112480
With all that Grand Order has done to the franchise I think most of the real spergy ones should have given up on there being ironclad lore rules.
>>
>>3112483
I'm never not going to hate FGO for what it has done.
So many servants that could be in actual stories or series just sentenced to like 40 lines of text at best, any fights are just dogshit gameplay then the enemy dies instantly.
Mobile kusoge is an awful storytelling format.
Also the influx of casuals isn't appreciated either.
>>
>>3112468
I hear theres a story, can I hear it?
>>
>>3112658
I believe there was another fate quest from a few months ago called Fate/Twilight that ran 1 1/2 quest. Unless this one is the one that they don't mean.
>>
>>3112658
>>3112665
There's been a few actually. None ever went more than 5 threads, mostly bitching about the MC doing shit that shouldn't be possible or the author wracking their brain to work around all the metagaming. The longest one, I think, involved the players waifuing Kyohime hard and ignoring most everything else going on.

Then you have that beautiful mess CoG was trying to run, I hate that we'll never know what he was going for but I think he drove himself mad.

Then of course their was just tonnes of powerlevel bitching when it came to dealing with a good chunk of servants, Gil and the Smug Red Man shitposting galore.

>>3112522
I love/hate hearing about some of the stories that it has in it but god damn is the gameplay terrible. Stuck it out solely for the servant interactions in stories for a while but just couldn't do it.
>>
>>3112682
Honestly Gil is one of the things holding me back from writing a Fate quest myself.
I'd want to run it during the fifth war but he's just such an overpowered faggot that him losing is always stupid.
I might give it a go one day though.
>>
>>3112706
Just say he's not in the picture. I mean, Heaven's Feel route just killed him off like a pansy.
>>
>>3112706
There was one quest where the author sidestepped him while causing more problems. Basically our servant was the old sage Utnapishtim and Gil avoided him out of respect but that left us with one bullshit level caster and really no one knew why we shouldn't go around cockslapping all the other masters.
>>
>>3112715
Yeah, and it was retarded.
Also iirc it's mentioned he was moments from tearing his way out.
Had he been acting in a non retarded way he'd have spammed Dark Sakura with cursed weapons that can't be healed from.
But the story demanded he job so he did.
>>
>>3112731
That makes even less sense.
Gil during SN has a motive.
He wouldn't just push it aside out of respect.
The best way to have Gil leave the player alone is with a nerfed Altera (long story but Gil feels like he owes her) and even then you've still got a monumentally broken servant (also Arturia isn't summoned)
There's no legit way to beat him during the fifth war when he's not jobbing except for the Avalon surprise.
Also Caster servants are OP but tend to be summoned by retards.
>>
>>3112759
Yeah it was stupid. Basically Gil wouldn't straight up fight the old man but would kill us if he caught us out in about on our own. Quest only lasted 2 threads so we didn't have time to figure out what exactly to do with the situation..
>>
I will say come up with things you guys can do/set up. You have one more week until the war comes under way and now you have a Servant for that week.
>>
>>3112774
Alright so I was thinking about our puppet making abilities and had the idea that we could make fake Ibaraki hands to scatter when she uses her NP, but I feel we should see how she uses it in quest before we decide if that's viable or how to best going about doing that.

Also, if it is viable, we could have her use her NP, attach a fake hand to her, then have her attack like normal while the hand flanked that would be kick ass.

Thoughts?
>>
>>3112781
>>3112774
Yeah, I'm definitely down for doing stuff with our puppet abilities. We could also possibly make a puppet modeled after Oni's
>>
>>3112774
>>3112781
Making fake servant abilities/servants sounds like an excellent use of some of our time, and seems like a good way of IC feeling out Ibaraki.

I might add that we still need to pick up supplies (people, guns, whatever) to develop some puppets and that should be done as well before the war starts proper.
>>
>>3112791
>>3112847
>>3112781
You know what sounds really dumb but fun?
Making a people club, so that Ibaraki can hit motherfuckers with other motherfuckers.
Sure it's good for maybe one or two strikes but to see the looks on the other masters faces when it's pulled out should be worth it.
>>
>>3112917
Well, we're in the most dangerous war we can be in. We need to shit that's smart, not dumb in this situation.
>>
>>3112957
Fair enough.
Might as well go the full nine yards and turn every tree in our domain into minions.
>>
>>3112957
If we have the parts and Ibaraki asks us if we know any interesting ways to terrorize people I don't see why not.

One of the things I'm looking forward to is the other participants' realization that they have a couple genuine monsters among them.
>>
>>3112957
>most dangerous war we can be in
This isn't the Snowfield War though, servants in that war are on a whole different level to this one.
Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Alcides, Two Prelati and Death. Also Ishtar is hanging around and summoned the Bull of Heaven.
Meanwhile this war has Karna, Vlad and Achilles as the top tiers.

Sorry guys, I started writing this at 5. I was trying to get her tone down. I think I got it.

Rictor's face scrunched up as he looked at the Servant, "Before anything, I am not human!"

The Feral smile of Ibaraki started to twitch as she starred at Rictor. She quickly moved next to him, starring into his eyes.

She took a few steps away looking confused as all hell, "You're not human, huh."

They starred at each other for a few moments, like the two were wondering who would make the first move, before she started to giggle. The giggle started to morph into full laughter as she almost fell to the ground, "hahahaha! To think the one to summon me is not human but a demon! To think an Oni could be so lucky!" A new invigorated feral smile appeared on Ibaraki's face as she stood up with her chest held high.

"Then I ask you as a fellow pillager of man! Are you my Master!"

"Yes, I will be your Master"
>>
>>3115509
This is going to be the start of a beautiful Father-Daughter relationship.
>>
After saying those words, Rictor could feel a sudden drain in mana.

"Perfect, now I can Pillage to my heart content." The temperature in the room seemed to increase as she continued her talk, "Though I can't call you Master. What is your name."

Rictor however looked at her with determination, "My name is Rictor Melston. As I have told you, I am not human. Though I am not a demon, I am what you call a Dead Apostle."

Her face seemed to scrounge up in questioning, trying to figure out what he was.

After a moment, Victor went ahead and spoke, "I am Vampire in the simplest terms. I know the Grail should have told you what that was."

Her eyes seemed to sparkle for a moment, "So you eat humans? Would you by chance have any? I am starving."

>"Here's some human food instead. I personally like strawberry ice cream myself."

>"I have some human blood in the back. I don't bother carrying around their corpses"

>"I'm out of humans. Why don't we go get some?"

Personally speaking, I worded my vote the way I did because while I do want to embrace our Monster nature, I don't want to start grabbing people off the street before we know the situation we're in IC.

We can go eat a few people later.

"I'm out of humans at the moment since I just settled into the base. How about we have some ice cream instead?"

Rictor watched as her face turned from the stoic monster to almost that of a connoisseur, "Ice cream, wasn't that one of those foods the humans enjoy in this century? Hmm, I guess an Oni could settle for such 'delights'."

"come on then, I'll show you to the Kitchen."

They walked up from the basement, going through the living room and the dinning room. Ibaraki looked around with scrying eyes, marking almost every detail in the house.

They finally made their way into the kitchen Ibaraki watching Rictor open the refrigerator with the same look about her. Drawing out the machine, Rictor placed down a box of Chocolate and Strawberry Ice cream. He walked over to the dware to get spoons, turing around to see Ibaraki slowly opening the box like it was some trap.

Walking over, he handed her a spoon, "Its not poisened you know, I just bought this the other day. Like I would waste some ice cream."

She starred at him with a patronizing look. Snatching the spoon from his hand, she quickly took a spoonful and stuffed it into her mouth.

Rictor watched in satisfaction as her face seemed to light up in glee. What was once a cautious raccon was now a viscious Oni, tearing into the meal.

Random question to ask QM, but how much mana does Ibaraki drain per day from us to maintain her presence in the world?
>>
>>3115654
Good question, I would mark her at about 30Mp/Round. Right now you are at 30Mp/Round because the grail hasn't been turned on. You know you go a week before this turns on and it goes up to 70mp per round.

A good compassion is that Kairi (Master of Red Saber) is at about 20 during the war and needs the grail to support a Servant.

Theses are rough and might change, but it gives the idea.

Isn't it common to use doubles in 4chan to use doubles. If not I see the doubles and I'm evil.

Taking out a bowl and a spoon, Rictor got scopped himself some Strawberry Ice Cream before placing it in the freezer and enjoying it.

As he was at it, he did not notice Ibaraki as she quickly finished devouring the meal and looked over at the freezer. Feeling like she could devour more, she looked towards the refrigerator with hungering eyes.

Slowly but surely, she made her way to the fridge. Opening it slowly, she quickly took the remaining box of strawberry ice cream for herself as she snuck back to her chair. Rictor however was too immersed into his own to have noticed anything.

Rictor, finishing his ice cream, looked over to notice the two empty boxes next to her.

What do you mean QM?
post number is pretty meaningless on /qst/ as it's such a slow board anybody could time their post to be doubles if they had the inclination.
For voting most quests take the most voted for option (one vote per ID)
For rolling the highest number of a Bo3 roll is usually taken.
>>
>>3115737
I'm taking top 3, but I think a good balance, for my game, will be to use doubles if they are part of the 3.

Its just to have some failure in something like social encounters where I don't enforce the one roll rule but take best of 3. I don't care for post number but what I see in front of me

Caring more for his own safety than trying to enjoy his Ice Cream, He decided to let Ibaraki go as she consumed his delicious Ice Cream.

She threw down the meal with a great gasp as she didn't even breath while eating. She looked up to Rictor's sad face with a feral smile, "You should keep your foodstuff locked up, an Oni might come and pillage it, Kuahahaha"

She laughed to herself for a few moments but Rictor spoke, "Now that you have eaten all our food, we will need to go out and get some."

Her laughter stopped as she looked at him, Rictor's own face gaining a smile as he 'one upped' her.

She simply gave a humph, "We can pillage for Ice cream another time, it is late, I will settle myself in this house."

It is now time to for the going one for the next week, what is the plan?

Sorry for the momentary wait, computer shut down.

Rictor was working on his puppets, the one thing in this world he loved. Each puppet was a unique creation, some would have blades for arms, others would have their faces in a perpetual smile. These gave them characteristics, personalities that he only wished would pop out and let them dance without strings. But he watched them as they fell onto the ground lifeless he could only become sadden.

Bringing them up and alive, he had them arrange into place, as of now he created about 5 of them when Ibaraki was looking over his shoulder.

"Hmm, what has Rictor been working on? Is it by chance an army to pillage our enemies?"

"Yes, my creations will be used to fight the war. We are out numbered, so some of my creations should help us." Rictor thought for a moment before he faced Ibaraki, "I need some ideas, would you help?"

She blinked a few moments before putting her chest forward, "I am the Ring Leader of the Mountain. To create my minions would be a grand feat!"

And so they started working otgether for the week, building and crafting personlised soldiers.

>What kind of men do you all want? You can make 42 puppets.
>>
>>3116004
Probably make them look like oni, all have various sizes. Or at the very least make them more monstrous looking.
>>
>>3116015
Well ofcourse there. I'm talking what their jobs are. These things are going to appear monsterous and have horns.
>>
>>3116004
>>Have some look like Oni, appearances and weaponry suggestions being given by Ibaraki, a few dressed to look like servants, and some to look as human as possible so that we can use them to trick our enemies, they are to have subtle or easily concealable weapons made as part of their bodies for ambush or assassination. Others are too look as disturbing and dangerous as possible, to make it less likely for others to see through our Human Puppets, and confuse them as to what weaponry our puppets use.
>>
>>3116015
>>3116024
This^
>>3116004
Would it also be possible for some of them to dig underground or bypass some types of terrain? Because if they can do so would increase their value as scouts or psudo-infiltrators of sorts.
>>
>>3116004
Ibaraki would suggest very straight forward kinds of puppets, beatsticks meant to terrorize and overrun.

Big ones with large barrel like abdomens full of gasoline, the can either breathe fire or suicide bomb.

Ones with multiples arms holding cleavers for spin to win attacks.

One with a large shield for us to enchant, capable of tanking other masters for us.

Little winged monkey like ones carrying IEDs.
>>
Rictor and Ibaraki work their way through a few dozen puppets over the week. While you would not expect Ibaraki to stay put, she was enamored by the puppets and enjoyed the occasional treats brought by the infiltrators during a test run she recommended.

In total, they produced:

5 Fire Breathers (Makeshift Weapon Installed)

3 Moles and 3 Crows all which became familiars

10 Oni (Strength Upgrade Puppet)

7 Servant look alikes (Buff placed on Deception) and Masters to match (Same)

5 Spider Hatchiers (Meant to slaughter Groups)

2 Defenders (Look up defender from DnD 5e and have been Familiared)

10 Winged Monkey Bombers (I added a few extra because they would be Cheap)

Any one else you all want to turn into familiars? You got 2 more based on this. They are basically able to leave your side and operate independently and allow you to use them as spies.

Also these the numbers you want?
>>
>>3116119
The numbers seem good. Maybe a pair of master servant look alikes for familiars?
>>
>>3116119
Numbers are fine but Is there a way to give Banana her own familiar? A Deer would be good. We could use it to scout the forest, if it saw someone, it running would be considered normal behavior instead of a possible familiar.
>>
>>3116138
Sadly no. While one could hang out with her and be ordered to take orders, they are never truly hers.
>>
>>3116148
Eh I'd still do it. She'd like her 'own' servant.
>>
"Hmm, I might not be around to help you sometimes. Any of the puppets you want?"

She looks over the puppets, trying to figure which ones she want. After a moment, a smile creeps onto her face as she points out to the Saber-Look Alike and Master, "I will be taking them. They should be useful to lure some to me. Ku ku ku, I can't wait to taste the spoils of war!"

The strain of mana on Rictor finally subsides as he looks at his army of Puppets. A smile adorns his face for he is one step closer to achieving the ability to create life.

Unless you guys have anything else you wanna do for prep, Imma call it here for tonight.
>>

>>
>>3116203
I'm still down for the whole "Buy shotgun with Dragon's Breath shells" dealy, maybe some explosives as well for bypassing some more heavy mundane defenses without wasting Mana.
>>
>>3116222
They just look like Servants and Masters.

Imagine the Saber is a Saberface and the master is a male with blatant Command Seals
>>
>>3116236
If you guys want, that could be your objective for the first day. Take a trip to a black market where the soviet stuff is being sold.
>>
>>3116237
Ah I gotcha. Fakes that can fool others who don't know what the other masters and servants look like.

>>3116236
A hunting rifle would be good. Can enchant the bullets for high piercing or put explosive runes on them and it'll keep us out of direct combat so our puppets can do most of the heavy lifting.
>>
>>3116256
>A hunting rifle would be good. Can enchant the bullets for high piercing or put explosive runes on them and it'll keep us out of direct combat so our puppets can do most of the heavy lifting.
Now that's smart thinkin right there.
Get a Hunting Rifle, a Shotgun and some explosives. Both firearms are simple enough to use and each can be modified to our hearts content.
>>
>>3116269
With rune carved guns we go from scary to being the most broken master in this war barring Shirou.

>>3116253
What's the range of our puppets? We should send one of the master/servant pairs out to pick them up and see if they flush anyone out.
>>
>>3116281
Maybe not as broken (See Kiritsugu and his Bone bullets of "Fuck your magic circuits") but We'll be definitely more flexible than most Magi in this era just because We're seemingly willing to work with what the modern era has in terms of tools and devices.
Provided that we actually use them of course.
>>
>>3116322
His bullets are OP but we can move about as fast as he does when he uses his haste shenanigans and have a far higher rate of fire and a more varied arsenal. That' along with our puppets giving us the numbers advantage and runes magic enhancing us like it does Bazzet we are one scary motherfucker.

Now that I think about it, I now wonder curiously what Rictor's Origin is.
>>
>>3116349
Well, he was a German Puppeteer from the 18th century. He wondered into the woods one day and was turned into a Dead Apostle.

Now that I think about it hes basically Pennywise.
>>

Not that origin, the Origin from the Root.

His Element and Origin.
>>
>>3116349
Well one of the defining things about him is taking one thing and making it something else. His puppet making and enchanting fit that, along with his own existence being changed.

Possible Alteration?

As for element maybe earth and wind.

It could be his origin if it turns out he was also manipulated earlier in his life to become what he is and if we rp the shit out of being a background puppeteer of others.

Could only be his element if something truly fucky happened to alter his soul early on, like Shirou being implanted with Avalon when he was a kid.

Origin isn't just where your soul came from, it's how it operates and where it goes. Element is the mean by which it does this and is either one of the five primal elements or an Imaginary (blank).
