+Intro+

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the last line of defence that hold Age of Ruin at bay. They are the Ghosts of Retribution and this is their tale.

>Last time...

Chapter Master greets Kerr's additional guests. "It's good to see you again Sister Engel. Lady Beriaun, Captain Dreidor and Captain London speak highly of your conduct as well."

Kerr waits while pleasantries are exchanged, his expression slowly twisting into a scowl until Engel glances at him and the Rogue Trader corrects himself.

"I've asked you all to join me to discuss several matters related to my second expedition into Corgus: The scattering of Ghallager Wilson's wolfpack, the discovery of an unrecorded xenos species, council on the fate of recovered relics, and an attack upon my fleet by Imperial traitors led by vessels of the Styrian Triarchy."

Engel and Beriaun both raise an eyebrow at the last comment before carefully studying the others present.

"But first, I fear that my actions, and the council that I seek from you all, must never be repeated outside of this chamber. I seek council and opinion upon the best course of action I may take for the Emperor's Imperium, not for council to navigate a governor's ball or Inquisitorial interrogation. And I must take into account the words of a prophecy that I fear involves several of us present."

Engel looks at Kerr in horror and disbelief at the last statement. "You were never one to believe in prophecy, Alexander."

"I fear that I have had a change of heart." Kerr's hand moves from the table toward the stump of his left leg, distracting both himself and Engel for a moment before he continues. "The Ghost-Speaker returns bearing the last of gifts without sacrifice. A spectral raven seeking a bauble lost in darkness, which will be swallowed? Raven or Darkness. Yet another link to forge or shatter the binding ties of the future you seek amongst the Tempest. Together placed, but the chosen lever grows weaker as you apply force. Share with both the Ghost and the Unforgivable while still able. Walk this path for the benefit of all, Tempest both foe and guardian."

"Where did you obtain this so-called prophecy, Alexander?" Engel's rigid posture has shifted slightly, as if some part of Kerr's words made some amount of sense to her.

"I sincerely fear that the Emperor sent it as a dire warning to me."

Engel's extreme unhappiness is plainly visible.

Chapter Master clears his throat, drawing Engel's glare. "I believe we would all like to begin with the Styrians Lord Kerr. You may not have acclimated to the current political climate yet but they were involved with the....outgoing administration."

Kerr sighs at Chapter Master's words. "Despite his flaws, I did find that Ursus always treated me fairly. I shall have to meet with the new ruler of Deus at some point." He glances at Morix, motioning toward the center of the table with his head before she carefully places a data slate before the Rogue Trader and begins to unfurl a large, metallic-looking scroll upon the table.
"Then I should begin with the battlefield. The system of Ionian's Respite." Tapping his data slate, Kerr calls up a projected hologram of the star system. Six rocky planets orbit the yellow star at the center, along with a trio of asteroid clusters. "I've yet to name any of the planets, so for now they are still known by their designation in an ancient, partial star chart: Zero-Zero-Seven-Seven and the Imperial Numerals I through VI. The first and second planets are both rather large and host verdant ecosystems, though the star's radiation bursts have limited expeditions to their surfaces. The pair of asteroid clusters at the edge of the Inner Cauldron are both filled with abdundant resources, including adamantium ores. The Primary Biosphere of the star contains only a few scattered asteroids and a vast rocky world with a toxic atmosphere. The fourth planet in the system is like-wise vast, hosts a pair of colonies we have established, and is orbited by a derelict station that I believe utilizes the same STC as your Iron Phoenix, Chapter Master. The last two planets beyond are tiny and inhospitable, though one may harbor a limited region of habitability."
Limiting the projected hologram to a quarter of the Outer Reaches, Kerr brings up a small task force of eight vessels, highlighted in red. "The attacking force consisted of two Dauntless Light Cruisers, most likely the former Battlegroup Mortis 'Upon Last Rites' in lead and 'Lux Belisarian' trailing, and both defaced. The six raiders upon their flanks all bore intact Imperial iconography, and their later communications suggest that they were crewed by traitors from within our own ranks. I have been unable to identify any of the raiders with my own resources, and will provide the best augury scans I have available to all present parties."

Kerr pauses, looking at the others in turn. "Are there any questions at this point?"

Beriaun seems impressed. "Last I heard, you commanded only a single Tempest-class, one of those Partisan raiders, 'Dutysworn' and this Heavy Transport."

"We captured the other Heavy Transport, 'Hospitaller' from the pirate Wilson prior to this battle. So technically they did not outnumber us two-to-one."

Beriaun makes to reply, but seemingly decides to hold her tongue.

>Any questions or input? or shall Kerr continue?

Perhaps look a little curious about his Ursus comment.

Otherwise I say let him continue. Prepare to corroborate his scans with any known intel from our networks.

>>3063479
Do we trust Kerry enough to put in a good word for him with our boy?
>>
>>3063489
Perhaps. We could say that Kerr and Celentis have proven to be trustworthy explorers of the new expanse so if the sector lord is considering any business there they'd be good people to work with.
>>
>>3063456
>"I sincerely fear that the Emperor sent it as a dire warning to me."

"I dont know, if the emperor would send warnings through xeno prophecies, but" looking slightly towards Engels " there are those here with a more thorough understanding of HIS workings".

Off to Hagen with all of this, ESPECIALLY THE FACT THEY USE IMPERIAL ICONOGRAPHY AND MAY BE CREWED BY TRAITORS
Maybe he can shed light on it. We might also consult admech sources whether they can spot any alterations on them that post-date their takeover

Question:
"How plausible do you think it is, the Styrian Triachy has a base of sorts in corgus. given their forces in the sector?"
>>

It matters a lot more that we tell THEM that we'll tell him than the actual recommendation.

>"I dont know, if the emperor would send warnings through xeno prophecies, but" looking slightly towards Engels " there are those here with a more thorough understanding of HIS workings".
I don't think he's mentioned the prophecy bit yet, which would mean we're effectively selling him out to a religious zealot with that statement
>>
>>3063526
>>3063504

Kerr has admitted the source of the prophecy to CM, but left out certain details to Engel. Such as the source.
>>
>>3063535
Yeah heavily opposed to revealing prophecy source to Engel.
>>
>>3063504
>"I dont know, if the emperor would send warnings through xeno prophecies, but" looking slightly towards Engels " there are those here with a more thorough understanding of HIS workings".
This assumes Engel knows the prophecy was told by an eldar.
If that is not the case, discard it
>>
>>3063467
Furthermore is it possible to mount a mission investigating the wrecks? Preferably one that can use force should we find any styrian installations

Also what investigations has Kerr taken in regards to the wreckages?
>>
>>3063504
"I have seen no evidence that the Triarchy has established a base in Corgus, though I suspect that this attack upon my fleet was intended to secure them one."

Adjusting the view once more, Kerr displays his fleet of Transports and the two escorts upon the left flank. "We held station below the derelict station's keel as the enemy approached and offered us an 'honorable' surrender. Every guncutter, lander and lighter within the fleet capable of flight and mounting a weapon was formed into an ad-hoc squadron and launched as the light cruisers fired a volley of torpedoes. One of the crazier pilots was actually flying with his arvus' ramp down and a gunner firing a hastily bolted down lascannon out the back." Kerr smiles. "I dare say the Emperor would not have been proud at that moment, but the torpedoes were intercepted and neutralized. The Triarchy ships were forced to advance as a line, and we met their second volley of ordinance with everything that could be rearmed in time to meet it, though the point defenses of the fleet had to down the last pair. By then, they were within range of our gambit's guns."

The hologram adjusts once more, showing the immediate area of the derelict anchor-class station. "We met the Triarchy's raiders with the transport 'Dutysworn', Tempest frigate 'Ionia' and the Partisan raider 'Redeemer'." The hologram begins to show Kerr's vessels as they advance, and the battle begins to play out as he speaks. "Fortunately, 'Ionia' carried the sole lance present upon the field, and she would put it to deadly use against the Triarchy's raiders." The lead Triarchy raider's icon soon goes dark after the hologram depicts a lance strike coring the vessel. "Wilson's vessel was not equipped for long ranged combat, and primarily acted as a distraction to shield the vessel we are currently upon, which laid her macrobatteries upon the lead Dauntless, stripping her voidshields. The section of the station we had repaired then raised her own voidshields and laid a deadly volley into the bastards, venting much of the vessel to the void."

"The Triarchy raiders were disorganized for some reason, and failed to coordinate their salvos upon 'Ionia' and 'Redeemer', minimizing the damage taken by both. 'Dutysworn' was less fortunate as the light cruisers nearly crippled the vessel for good, but we proceeded to reduce one raider to a burning hulk and strip the voidshields from two others, allowing 'Ionia' and 'Redeemer' a kill each." Torpedoes fly out from the stricken Dauntless toward the station section, and one of the Heavy Transports moves to intercept. "'Hospitaller' lost nearly a quarter of her crew intercepting the plasma torpedoes meant for the station, and more attempting to contain the fires that followed."

Kerr seems to lose himself as the hologram shows storms of static boiling from the stricken transport, prompting Morix to step in. "The vessel we believe to have been 'Upon Last Rites' was destroyed shortly after as 'Spirit of Mormark' detonated the traitor vessel's plasma drives." The hologram fills with static as the vessel detonates, bathing the nearby ships in the explosion. "Only 'Ionia' escaped damage, by some miracle, but the disorientation allowed the other Dauntless to bear down upon 'Dutysworn' and unleash a volley of boarding torpedoes into her flank despite being crippled by the death of her lead ship and the station's macrocannons." Kerr's hand moves slightly toward the stump of his right arm. "Lord Kerr was forced to evacuate his vessels as fires began to spread and the surviving enemies turned to flee and we ran them down."

The hologram shows 'Dutysworn' drift and eventually detonate while 'Ionia' cuts down the Triarchy raiders in turn with her lance. Soon after, the light cruiser begins to slow after taking fire from 'Redeemer'. "Unable to escape, the second light cruiser surrendered after we destroyed her void shield generators." Morix hesitates as the vessel slows to a stop. "And then Lord Kerr gave the order to destroy every hostile vessel and wreck, and scour the void of any Triarchy servants that clung to life." The hologram proceeds to show each Triarchy vessel or wreck blasted until the plasma drives detonate.

Kerr's fist slams upon the table. "It was a rash, stupid order made in blind rage. And if given the change to go back to that moment a thousand times, I would issue those orders a thousand more times. There shall be no quarter given for Triarchy forces that assail Corgus, or even those of the Triarchy wander innocently or peacefully upon it."

Silence lingers as the hologram shows Kerr's fleet limp back toward the station.

"A great battle indeed Lord Kerr. Worthy of recording in the Sector Annals. Were you able to secure any information or intelligence from the triarchy units? Or was it all lost without recovery?"

Otherwise, on to the wolfpack.
>>
>>3063587

"Unfortunately my rage did not lift until each and every Triarchy survivor had been cut down, Chapter Master. No boarding attempts were made to retrieve intelligence."
>>
Kerr takes a few moments to steady his emotions before gesturing toward Captain Morix. "Captain Jessica Morix shall explain the details of the scattering of Ghallager Wilson's wolfpack, as she both possesses the knowledge of involved parties and ultimately commanded the assault that captured Wilson's vessel 'Hospitaller'."

Morix takes a deep breath before carefully standing. "At the peak of its power, Gallager Wilson's pirate fleet was centered around his flagship 'Hospitaller', which provided a mobile anchorage and supply depot with its docking arms. His senior Captains were Jed Torl, Quint Jacobs, Lee Hariso, and Pi Modori. Each had manage to raise a subordinant 'rookie' Captain under them. Theo Ristin, Addy Parson, Percius Aurex, and Jessica Morix. Respectively."

Both Beriaun and Engel glare at Morix and then Kerr.

"Wilson's fleet had established a slave-powered base upon a world he named 'Wilsons Respite' within Corgus, but in the process both Theo Ristin and Addy Parsen were lost, along with their vessels. With the aid of Lord Kerr's men, I was able to return to the wolfpack and successfully rescue a number of loyal Imperials held prisoner by the wolfpack, and sow discontent among the fleet before making good my escape." Morix glances toward one of the Shadow Guard as the astartes shifts ever so slightly. "Returning with Lord Kerr in 351, we found only the crippled 'Hospitaller' attempting to break orbit of the wolfpack's planetary base, and quickly launched a boarding action. Encountering Pi Modori and engaging in a battle with her, I learned of the wolfpack's civil strife after my departure. Captains Torl and Hariso had attempted to overthrow Wilson, resulting in the death of Hariso and Captain Jacobs while Percius Aurex was beyond the system. Torl had fled and remains at large at this time, along with Aurex. Modori and Wilson's heads are available for review if anyone cares for that sort of thing, and as previously mentioned we secured 'Hospitaller' from the pirates, along with the liberation of over three thousand Imperial souls from her slave holds."

Beriaun's brow contorts. "And from the surface?"

"One. Alicia Aurex, sister to Percius Aurex, and by my knowledge unwittingly lured into travel with her brother along with her younger sister, Synne. By any measure, it is difficult to call either of them a pirate or anything but a loyal imperial."

"Fine by me, but what of the others? Surely you do not mean to tell me that the world only contained one woman or that the wolfpack's traitors abducted every last soul except for her?" Beriaun raises her hand as if asking for some object.

"According to the information we have available, primarily Miss Aurex's testimony, the traitors of the wolfpack abducted a small number, including a group of loyalist Imperials she was quietly gathering, but the remainder were descended upon by foul xenos that 'came in in the night, moved like shadows and cackled with glee as they slaughtered'. I personally believe that these xenos may have caused the wolfpack's infighting in the confusion of their assault."

"The Order of Bloody Tears has dealt with xenos of similar description before. If they are the same raiders as upon Lituanica, pray that they simply killed those taken." Engel leans forward, interlacing her fingers and resting her elbows upon the table. "And I should very much like to see those heads. Later. While you confess your sins and beg for absolution."

Morix turns a shade paler than normal at the Canoness Preceptor's tone.

"After the parade upon Tachion Primaris, a man approached me, saying he was from some family famous upon the periphery of the sector. He wished for me to deliver the relics I had recovered unto his benefactors that wish to remain named, and when I challenged his insulting lack of information, he presented me a ring as recompense. I believe it bore the crest of Daikan Alepros."

Engel's expression twitches. "Are you absolutely certain, Alexander? You seem to be suggesting that the Lord of Taratus may be a traitor siding with the Triarchy, and that is a very serious charge."

Beriaun whistles softly. "And a very serious target, as well."

Kerr places his hand upon his head, flinching in pain. "Perhaps... perhaps I am wrong. I can't recall that damned snake's name, even if it was false." Noting the untouched glass of alcohol and Kerr's additive that Engel previously took away from him, Kerr grasps the glass and moves to down it in a single swig.

Amelia Engel's hand grips the top of the glass, forcing it away from Kerr's lips. "Alexander. You will not drink whatever filth your aid added to your glass."

"Amelia," Kerr's voice grows quiet as the Sororitas bests him in both strength and their staring contest. "Please. I must."

"No. You must not and you shall not."

Chapter Master has visions of Captain Arcon flash across his mind as Kerr's features distort with hatred. "Do you suddenly care now? What abou-" Canoness Preceptor Emelia Engel's left fist impacts Kerr's face, filling the room with the clear sound of his nose being broken. "I've let you hold that over me for far too long, Alexander. No more."

Reeling, Kerr takes a moment to notice that the substance he seeks is no longer guarded by Engel and greedily consumes it as Morix and Beriaun shift their gaze elsewhere.

"And what was that?" Look at Engel's bloody fist.

Kerr gingerly holds a handkerchief to his bleeding nose as he doubles over, slowly regaining his composure.

At Chapter Master's first question he remains silent, though the young aid from before slowly approaches the Astartes, offering the small container of substance he added to Kerr's drink. "Ash, Lord. From Folkvangr. After the battle and his miracle, Lord Kerr found that it calmed him."

I even saw one myself before the armsmen shoved me into another compartment, and well" The boy looks again toward Kerr. "Only seven men besides Lord Kerr survived the torpedo and the monsters that assaulted the bridge, and each swore that all was lost until Lord Kerr's voice thundered above the sound of battle, filling them with the Emperor's strength and stunning the monsters as they writhed in agony."

The boy simply offers up the entire container to Chapter Master. "Folkvangrian ash is never hard to find in a ship that visits the world, Lord."

Engel's usual visage of controlled outrage has returned, though her eyes betray her concern over the situation. "My order will conduct an investigation into this alleged incident. Quietly, of course. Such claims are a delicate matter, best left unspoken to certain parties in this sector until they can be confirmed or refuted."

"Lady Engel, they know it to be true. Ask Miss Morix!" The aid's confidence seems to return once he isn't faced with Astartes.

Engel raises a hand to quiet the young man. "And I trust that the Emperor will guide us to the truth of the matter." With some hesitation, she places her hand upon Kerr's back. "And I believe that I owe Lord Kerr an apology for striking him."

"And I to you, Canoness Engel. Please, forgive my actions. The stress of this expedition has taken a severe toll upon me."

"Then," Engel eyes the others present with suspicion, "you are welcome to stay with the Order of Bloody Tears and heal your mind and soul in prayer with us. Consider it, Alexander."

Still hunched over and covering his face, Kerr briefly reveals his broken nose to tap at the data slate and bring up an augury scan covering the majority of a planet and a small moon in orbit. Swarms of xenos fighters appear to be doing battle with larger orknoid fighta-bombas from the moon.

"We discovered this world under attack from what is effectively a massive greenskin Rok that was once its moon. As best we can tell, an actual greenskin Rok crashed upon the moon at some point in time, and the local xenos species has been battling the greenskins ever since."

Another brief tap reveals a strange reptilian xenos with large eyes and a strange robe. "With 'Dutysworn' I conducted a brief bombardment of orknoid strongholds upon the moon before their attack craft could respond, and this strange xenos attempted to contact our vessel. We do not understand their language at this time, but we recorded what we believe is a sufficient amount of it to conduct a proper translation. Interestingly enough, we do not believe that intercepted communications between their attack craft use the same language, nor even the same vocal patterns as this apparent diplomat."

>Response or Go-to Council?

"Interesting. They're clearly anti-ork and your actions may hold humanity in good stead with them.

In-keeping with the Imperium's right of conquest it may be prudent to determine if these xenos have any aspirations beyond their own world. If they have no intention or capability of leaving it would likely be prudent to let them be. At least for the foreseeable future."

Beriaun nods at Chapter Master's suggestion. "We might even be able to exploit them for rare resources. Trade them cheap munitions to fight the greenskins with."

Engel shrugs. "So long as they are far beyond the Imperium and all contact is done lawfully and exploits them for the Imperium's gain... I see no reason to purge them for now."

Kerr carefully checks that his nose has stopped bleeding before tapping the data slate once more. "Then on to the recovered relics. Again, I ask that you offer council with the best course of action for the Emperor's Imperium in mind, not the council found at a governor's ball or to survive an Inquisitorial interrogation. This may be the last chance I have to ever share such things with this sector and the Imperium."

"Ah, yes... I thought the Astartes equipment would be first." Kerr taps the data slate, projecting a shattered craft and seven suits of power armor.

"We found the power armor among the wreckage of several vessels that could be boarded. By our guess, they must have been acting as advisors or attached to the vessels in small teams. We could not locate any weapons with them upon recovery, and the smaller items may have drifted off into the void at some point. "Curiously, none appear to bear any Chapter markings. They're just painted black and greys with lightning bolts, aquilas and the odd eagle head with thunder bolts. Oh, one had a red stripe upon the top of the helmet, like a crest of some sort. I haven't the slightest clue as to the rhyme or reason for the rest of the markings, however."

"The other item was located as-is upon an intact vessel, presumably recovered from the surface of a world." The holographic changes to that of an early Thunderhawk, perhaps a Mk III, that appears to have been shot down and crashed intact. Chapter Master notes that the hologram displays the craft to be strapped down to a rather clean deck. "Just like the armor, this craft is painted in nothing but black and the odd bit of grey, and all of the parts appear to be there. It will obviously need repair."

The holographic zooms in on the craft's side, showing a scroll with the craft's name 'Veritas Imperatoria'. "Another oddity, here. It appears that someone renamed the craft. In person, you can actually see the heat distortions where they melted the original name away and carved that one in."

"Certainly Lord Kerr, though I'll need to consult my Forgemaster on the costs of such an endeavour."

Chapter Master easily recognizes the symbol of an eagle's head with crossed thunderbolts as the Raptor Imperialis. It is considered a badge of honor, now most often associated with those Astartes that once fought beside the Emperor during the Great Crusade.

Canoness Preceptor Engel does not appear to be very happy with the idea. "Alexander."

"If you do not wish to wear it, gift it to another of your order. But this exchange is between myself and Chapter Master, and I will require a donation of some kind to gift to your order should I take up your earlier offer."

Beriaun laughs at Engel's annoyed silence. "Well, he does have you there."

Shake head in bemusement.

"Very well. Sister Engel, if you'd like to pass along to us the specifications of the armour you desire, we will get to work as soon as possible. Colours, iconography, accoutrements and such. If there are any relics or Rosarii you would like implanted into the armour please also provide them.

"Likewise, I do not fully grasp how the Adeptus Mechanicus would go about adding lost patterns to their production cycles from these vehicles, but I will put faith in your council, Chapter Master. Though my relations with the Mechanicus are quite strained due to the influence of Cardinal Magnus Sectorum Kest."

>Personal items

"We have collected perhaps sixteen-hundred void-sealed carapace suits of ancient design, and well over two-thousand such examples in a lesser flak armored design, along with what my Explorator declared to be Mars Mk II pattern lasguns." Kerr shrugs as he pulls up the holographic displays for an example of each item. "I've simply taken his word on such matters. There is also what I am told is a suit of Solar-Pattern Armor which I have been thinking to claim for myself, and perhaps should have claimed sooner. Supposedly it too is artificer quality, but the bolted on boots and gloves strike me as odd for such a word."

A small collection of pistols and two swords appear above the table. "A paired set of masterfully crafted weapons, a power sword and a plasma pistol. Something called a 'blast pistol' according to an inventory we located, a needle pistol, five regimental banners with references I do not understand, two miniature ships in bottles and identifying plaques, and a strange blade we believe to be of Xenos origin. The astropaths absolutely hated the blade, and quite frankly we are all afraid to pick the thing up after the first two men described the experience as chilling. It glows, but almost as if the light were afraid to touch the damned thing's blade. It fills me with a sense of revulsion just to look at the thing, personally."

"Why would you take such a terrible thing?" Engel looks disgusted at the very idea of touching some xenos weapon.

"Someone long ago thought that blade had value or was too dangerous to leave alone. I thought it best if I removed it from their ship for the same reasons."

Kerr suddenly snaps his fingers. "Ah, Captain Morix, would you please fetch the strongbox for Chapter Master? Trust no others with its possession."

As the Captain bows to the assembled guests and departs, Kerr coughs. "My apologies, Chapter Master. I've recovered another of those items that I believe are meant for one such as yourself."

Lady Beriaun nods in agreement. "Second."

"Third." Engel looks toward Chapter Master. "I trust that your Chapter can store such a relic until a proper team arrives, though I would differ to your choice of Inquisitor to inform."

Kerr sighs. "If buyers are the council you provide, I shall entertain offers."

Beriaun signals Kerr's aid. "I believe that Lord Kerr and I should retire for the time being, and perhaps prepare for his journey with Canoness Engel." As the young man moves to fetch something from the corner, Kerr raises his hand.

"Wait. First, bring Gregor in."

A few moments later, a young boy of perhaps ten years timidly enters the chamber. "Gregor, come stand beside me, boy." Kerr motions the boy over between himself and Engel, earning a curious look from the Canoness.

"Chapter Master, Lady Beriaun, Canoness Engel. May I present to you Gregor Morix, son of Captain Jessica Morix. It rests upon me to request that he be enrolled in the Schola Progenium, and I ask that each of you would support me in this request. Along with the infant twins of Miss Alicia Aurex, Tamara and Johnathan Aurex. Those two I thought best to remain within their room for the time being, though I can assure you that they are fine specimens of mankind." With a smile, Kerr gives Gregor a hearty clasp upon the shoulder.

"Whilst some of the mortal intricacies may escape me I am surprised the parents would so readily give up their children....it is unlikely they would ever see them again. Is this what they really want?

I will recommend whatever Canoness Engel does. Though given the current track record of Aurex spawn I can only hope for the best..."
>>
>>3064648

Engel studies the boy carefully. "Alexander, I am inclined to agree with the Chapter Master. I will not sponsor the boy nor the infants as orphans to the Schola."

Kerr pats the boy's shoulder.

"I do, however, know of several families that would take in such children as wards, and raise them as their own. Especially two infants that bear no responsibility for the actions of their mother or her family."

Beriaun slowly rises from her seat, motioning once more for Kerr's aid. "So long as she isn't referring to me, I believe that is without a doubt the best course of action. Now Kerr, shall we depart with the boy?"

Kerr whispers something to the boy, then ruffles his hair, eliciting an annoyed pout. "Yes, Lady Beriaun, I believe we shall."

After the group departs, Canoness Engel smiles across the table at Chapter Master. "So, do you plan to kill me, or does Kerr's state worry you as well, Chapter Master?"

>Response?
>>
>>3064698
>So, do you plan to kill me, or does Kerr's state worry you as well, Chapter Master?

"Oh don't worry Amelia, it's been a very long time since I've had to consider anything like that." Chuckle.

"His state worries me indeed. He's clearly suffered extreme mental stress and his physical disabilities aren't helping. I'm also concerned that he was wounded by some kind of styrian mutant or worse. It may have infected him with....something. Personally I would like to have my Librarians check him over before he goes with you."

"And his isn't the only state that drew my concern. It is not expected of a Sister to have such a personal outburst. Is that something I should be worrying about?"

Make a note to keep an eye on the solar auxilia baneblade and its price. It might be worth making an offer so we can use it as a bargaining chip to help Nestorium's standing with Mars.
>>
>>3064698
First of all, it was not a complete lie. I have read worrying news about several nobles flirting with the triachian excuse for a faith, which given our recent ... problem does alarm me.

But yes, his state, as well as the probable nature of the styrian attackers is a case for concern. Given your consent, i would have him examined by our local librarian, with or without his cooperation, aswell as a thorough physical examination. Furthermore the substances he takes will be examined aswell.
Of course i will relay any later findings to you, should you so desire.

I understand you and him have some connection, so I will follow your counsel in this matter.
>>
>>3064746
>>3064773
"I too have heard this news, and I assure you that the Order of Bloody Tears is assisting in the vigil against such heresy."

Engel considers Chapter Master's comments on Kerr's state for a long time before letting out a long sigh. "I do not condone the use of psykers, even if sanctioned or skilled, against any Imperial's mind. Especially one in such a state as Alex- Lord Kerr's." Her expression hardens and she meets Chapter Master's gaze.

"Keep your witches out of Lord Kerr's head, Chapter Master. The sisters of my Order are more than capable of healing his mind and soul, and detecting any malicious taint lingering within him."

At Chapter Master's words on her relationship with Kerr, Engel's eyes narrow. "If we have an understanding on your request to further taint Lord Kerr's mind, we might speak of this topic if you must know."

>Response?
>>
>>3064821
It was an offer for assistance. As i said earlier, I will follow you in this matter. Should you agree to a physical exam as well as general medical attention for him, we are willing to help.

However refrain from degoratory statements about my marines, in private or public.
>>
>>3064821
Sigh. "A Sororitas through and through indeed...."

"If that is your insistence Canoness I will not protest. Of course you are accepting full responsibility for Lord Kerr and his mental state should anything go awry."

"And I believe I must know. This is not the first time there has been a charged emotional response between yourself and Lord Kerr."
>>
>>3064837
>>3064851

Engel nods slightly at Chapter Master's request on the topic of his Chapter's psykers. "I shall attempt to keep my choice of words more diplomatic in the future, Chapter Master."

The Canoness drums her fingers across the table for a moment after Chapter Master notes the repeated emotional responses she has had with Kerr. Much like her appearance at Tachion Primaris, Engel suddenly appears uneasy. "While the specifics are none of your concern, Chapter Master, Alexander Kerr has been one of my closest and most trusted friends since we were children in the Schola Progenium upon Prothera. Just as my mother and his father were bound by the Emperor's will in the void, we were bound together in the Schola by his will as well, though he was no orphan at the time."

"I had assumed as much, Sister Engel. In fact your clear friendship is why the earlier incident was so surprising. It would seem to me that Kerr was mentioning something incredibly contentious for you to break his nose like that. I was wondering if this...event he attempted to speak of was something I should be aware of. I am not fond of violence between allies. However if this is something you truly wish to keep personal I will respect that."

As Engel departs, a very confused Captain Morix returns with the previously requested strongbox.

Morix's brow twitches. "I apologize, Lord Astartes. Lord Kerr's mind has been elsewhere since his leg was taken." Slowly, she removes a data slate from her pocket and pulls up a simplified display of the vessel and its holds before offering it to Chapter Master.

"Lord Kerr ordered one of the asteroid clusters to be mined for the adamantium ore present, and over the last five years our miners claimed enough of the ore to fill every last hold of this heavy transport with unrefined adamantium ore, which we have no ability to process or contacts to have properly refined." Tapping the top of the slate, she pulls up the cargo's estimated values. "With Lord Kerr's business partnerships limited by Lord Kest's decrees, we had hoped your Chapter might act as a," Morix quietly clears her throat. "As a front, or a buyer. This vessel has the least damage of the fleet, and in order to begin resupply we must clear the holds."

This is a fate suited for a man of my taint, I accept it willingly at this point.

I must ask however, Why do we wish to store the Mark V Hersey armor within the Reclusium, instead of passing it along as a gift to one of the more founding chapters who fought in the war that would be open to it? Surely the favor or gift would do better then sitting on such things in a relatively young chapter?

>Loot roll, high is good!

Much to the surprise of those present, the box accepts Chapter Master's genetic code and does not appear to require anything further.

Inside the box are two encoded maps and a folded letter that reads:

To whom it may concern:

I trust that fate has brought loyalist reinforcements to reclaim this vessel, and I bid you good hunting with her. Enclosed with this letter are two maps taken from traitor fleet elements over the past months. The filth believed that the men of Darius Prime would forsake the nobility of our blood oaths to Mankind because we had been defeated and cast out as Rogue Traders to die in this Great Crusade.

Our end may have come by vile disease, but we have accounted ourselves well, friend. Ten cruisers destroyed, two of them Legion vessels, since we were offered a chance to disgrace our noble blood. We did not go quietly, nor shall we allow ourselves to be defeated by vile disease. You shall find 'Chivalrous Oath' cleansed by way of a xenos device that shall purge us from this vessel in dark flame. It shall be a noble end, and you shall be there to take up arms after us, friend.

For honor, humanity and victory,

Baron Adam Alexios Fredrick Renault III, Rogue Trader Militant of Darius Prime and loyal knight of the Human Empire.

HERE WE GO AGAIN
>>
>>3066526
Oh boy more legion knowledge.
>>
>>3066526
See if we can catch Lady Beriaun.

"Captain, let me thank you again for your timely intervention on Barivia. You have the chapter's thanks and friendship. Is that your light cruiser? A fitting upgrade.

I couldn't help but notice the term in Kerr's prohecy he seemed to believe referred to yourself..."

Did we get a response on if Alicia mentioned Selenti? (I assume by now CEF has reported to chapter that Selenti has been arrested for murder etc.)

And did they produce any servo skulls with pictures of the triarchy shock troops?
>>
>>3066613
>Alicia mentioned Selenti?

Before departing, Morix confirms that Selenti Aurex is last known to be in the employ of the Celentis Dynasty. (and yes, that report has come in)

>servo skull pict captures
Yes. There is currently some debate as to the true nature of the shock troopers, but there is consensus that the pict captures show some form of mutated human with mechanical augmentation. At least one does appear to have warp-spawned mutations, though footage only shows three, perhaps four shock troopers.

>Lady Beriaun

"Thank you, Chapter Master. Battlefleet Paxia gifted her to me in the Brinican repair yards, though I suspect it was more political than actually a gift." She shrugs. "The Barivians still like me well enough."

Lady Beriaun seems confused when Chapter Master mentions Kerr's prophecy. "I'm not quite certain I follow, Chapter Master. What part do you believe referred to myself?"

>Response?
>>
>>3066672
>Yes. There is currently some debate as to the true nature of the shock troopers, but there is consensus that the pict captures show some form of mutated human with mechanical augmentation. Show them to Engel, she is here and her counsel and insight is much appreciated. not to mention it might aid her in her quest to heal Kerr.
>>3066526

Is the note and the sword from the same place, i.e. could the xenos weapon be that sword

furthermore do we have knowledge of what darius prime is called today?
>>
>>3066672
"The "Unforgivable"? If not you that leaves Engel. Hmm...Actually considering their explosive exchange Kerr does seem to have been unable to forgive Engel for something. It must have referred to her.
Please accept my apologies Captain. It's just that I have only heard the rumours surrounding your past."

Agree with >>3066683
Was the sword found in the scoured ship?
>>
>>3066692

Beriaun's expression softens as Chapter Master apologizes. "Do not trouble yourself with apologies toward me in the future, Chapter Master. Your brothers saved Barivia, and for that I am eternally grateful." The Rogue Trader bows deeply. "Brinica is a world steeped in ancient noble blood lines and naval tradition, and they rather loathe Barivia for holding ability over bloodline. So when some full-blooded noble gets himself and his crew killed and a half-blood junior officer manages to salvage the battle and survive, rumors begin."

"But I do enjoy a good rumor, especially those about Kerr and Engel." Beriaun beams with a rather unrefined grin. "Do you know if her Order requires a vow of chastity? My bridge crew has a pool going on which rumor about them is true."

>Response?

>>3066683
>>3066692
>Darius Prime
Chapter Records do not hold any information upon this world, though a scribe does locate information suggesting that it may be located somewhere in or near Segmentum Solar.

>Sword found on scoured ship?
Who do you wish to ask about this?

>Show footage to Engel.

Engel believes that at least one of the shock troopers carried warp-taint, noting that Kerr admits to severing his own arm at the shoulder after his arm was shredded by an enemy combatant upon the bridge of 'Dutysworn'. The footage only further convinces her that the wound must have been from some tainted weapon or mutated claw.

>"But I do enjoy a good rumor, especially those about Kerr and Engel." Beriaun beams with a rather unrefined grin. "Do you know if her Order requires a vow of chastity? My bridge crew has a pool going on which rumor about them is true."

Laugh back. "It's nice to meet someone a bit more relaxed Captain Beriaun. I regret to say I do not know, but your bridge crew are not the only ones interested in what's going on between those two. I've been dealing with them for forty years and I'm still in the dark.

Well, rumours are a fickle thing. Still you seem to have done well for yourself as a rogue trader, and I wish you the best of fortunes. Do keep us in mind if you need some particularly suited help in your endeavours." Chuckle. "We have a unit in Corgus as well."

>Who do you wish to ask about this?
Ask Morix.

"And be careful that Sister Engel doesn't hear you talking about the Sororitas like that."

in CM's best "i care about this as much as i care about the weather report on bumblefuck IV voice that suggests its said out of duty, if not care towards the captain rather than an honest reprimand"

"You should not talk like that about a Member of the Adepta Sororitas. The are servants of the emperor and as such above your gossip"

I assume we get a somewhat detailed report about every item we accept. Especially relics artifacts and similar items of historical relevance.

Beriaun lifts her hands plaintively at Chapter Master's weak reprimand. "I'd like to think they love each other, myself, but that may be the optimist in me. Of the four servants of the emperor from our meeting, Kerr and myself are the most likely to die alone in the void rather than gloriously in some grand battle recorded by the Imperium."

After a moment, she looks up at Chapter Master's eyes with a smile. "Do all of the Mormarkian women tell you how handsome you are when you are serious, Chapter Master? Or is there a special someone?"

Beriaun chuckles and shakes her head slightly. "If there is nothing else, Chapter Master, I shall take my leave."

Hail Brother Hi.

I've tried many a things but all I may do is dwell in the warp space of help and wait. I've stated earlier a few of what I've done but none has worked.
I'm more annoyed at the fact it went from working one day to being this fucking invaild host thing. Yet I can see it when I search the channel up with folks inside.

"Oh one more thing Lady Beriaun. If you intend to return to Sector Corgus could I trouble you with taking some things to resupply my Corgus Expeditionary Force? Is anybody else unable to get into the channel?

>Joining channel...
>>
>>3068212

The channel seems to have been set to accept registered nicknames only. This one suggests percussive maintenance.

>>3067724

Beriaun nods. "I intend to depart for Adamant Prime in two weeks time, and for Lord Kerr's colonies in three months. So long as you do not require anything too large sent, I see no reason to ask for compensation. The Barivians of my crew might mutiny at such news."
>>
>>3068212
I'm sorry Lyk I fixed it.

>>3068254
"Thank you Lady Beriaun."

If the CEF are under-strength at this point in time we'd sent reinforcements as well. I hope a marine or two won't take up too much room.

>>
>>3069244

Tests of the Folkvangrian Ash and Kerr's drink of choice reveal nothing unusual, other than the fact that Kerr has either failed to restock good alcohol since his return or perhaps has stretched his finances too thin to afford anything other than a low grade Protheran Cognac.

While certainly not recommended for consumption, Kerr's aid seems to have been limiting the amount consumed to render any ill effects comparable to those encountered simply by spending time upon Folkvangr for extended periods of time without a respirator.

A proper inquiry to the Adeptus Administratum soon returns information on Darius Prime.

World: Darius Prime
Location: Segmentum Obscurus, near the Segmentum Solar border.
Type: Dead World
Population: Formerly 8.2 Billion
Description: Formerly a Knight World, Darius Prime's nobles were noted to be xenophobic even toward fellow humans from beyond their world. After subjugation a number of their noble families declared their loyalty to the Imperium and sent forward as the honored vanguard of the Great Crusade among numerous fleets.

Darius Prime was Virus Bombed by traitor forces after refusing to surrender their precious Knights and arms, though evidence suggests that a number of forces survived to contest the landings that followed.

The last surviving Knights of Darius Prime among the Imperium swore an oath of vengeance against those that destroyed their world, and the last of their number reportedly perished in 020.M31

So for the benefit of Skg I will repost the actions we left off with.

Events:
Galactic: >>3048299
Sector: >>3048379
Chapter: >>3048384

=====Triot Actions=====
I strongly think we should keep pressing the advantage on Triot until we can be sure the orks won't reunify for a counterattack.
We should secure the key coastal areas of the western continent. Specifically we should make sure to secure the archipelago in the south that spans the two continents. Use the many Rhinos on Aspera Dominus to keep mobility between these islands.

While the Imperial Guard undergo their sustained bombardments our force should raid ork hideouts and drive them into the open.
For tactics I'd suggest we strike fast with thunderhawks, deploying assault marines and land speeders from the air, who can deploy teleport homers inside the ork position. We can then teleport our terminators into the ork's midst and really gun them down.
Meanwhile the Fortress of Vengeance and our Predators will have positioned themselves around the ork position ready to gun down any that flee and aren't caught by artillery & thunderhawk strikes.

We should also have Averon Birg investigate any potential investment opportunities they might now be on Triot. I'd recommend looking into the Merchant Ariana Belinde and VaskCorp from Doria, but we'll see what Birg has to present to us before making any decisions.

===OTHER====
- Did we earn any Chapter XP? Did the Librarians earn any advances?
>Both of these questions will be resolved once I will be back.

3. Assign new Tartarus/Cryptus Spy Network to look into Tesalia D'anger and Daikan Alepros, see what they know and what they intend to do.
>Some new things might appear here. Will require some rolls and a chat.

6. Investigate any reports or accounts from the region of space near where operation stormchaser went missing. Any nearby naval patrols etc. See if they encountered anything that might be responsible.
7. Alexander Kerr has send us a message (see expected events, we'll need MachineSpirit to address this).
8. We have quite a lot of HLoT favour now. What's the ship:favour exchange rate? For escorts and strike cruisers.
>Will sort out later.

>Iron Monks have recently invested a sizeable part of their liquid assets into acquiring three massive crusading ships. Not much is known about this without further investigation, but they won’t enter service earlier than in a few years, maybe later.
Has the Inquisition or Administratum said anything about this flagrant breach of the decree passive?

====Vardan Purchase Proposals====
- Environmental Infrastructure I (if you approve of their rules) - 60w [PENDING – will check rules]
- Fund breeding incentive programs - What's the cost/benefit? [PENDING – please clarify, maybe we’ll sort it out once I am back]
