Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest

You and Dragon Force had your first Stand battle, facing down Jotaro and Star Platinum as Meloka battled Lord Boros. Jotaro proved his Stand’s superiority in a Stand faceoff, yet when you transformed into an Ascended Super Saiyan you finished the boy off quickly. Meloka managed to impress Boros to the point he surrendered, overpowering his secret final form in a titanic beam struggle. Once you were declared the winner you dropped your challenge live to the Arbiter then left, discovering more of what your Stand can do before you arrived back to Dreadzone Station. Once back at your ship you learned that Vegeta, with Emilia and Chaya’s help, had captured one of the Lin Kuei assassins alive. After finding out about the Lin Kuei’s Dr. Freeze’s plan, that night you learned of Silver’s roots as the infamous Lin Kuei assassin Quicksilver. Once he helped seal your ship against further Lin Kiei infiltrations, you went to bed. As we rejoin Karn you’re waking the next morning to Chaya’s excited yells.

“He said you got another fight!” Chaya says excitedly, you suddenly getting a vague feeling of dread, confirmed by her next sentence. “Daddy’s gonna fight an Arbutter!!”
“Already?!” Meloka says startled fully awake, a bit louder than she probably intended. “He’s here?!”
“Uh-huh!” Chaya says excitedly, completely missing the dread in Meloka’s voice. “He’s talkin’ with Mr Fi-Box right now!”
“That was faster than I’d anticipated.” you reply as you finish putting on your armor, Meloka quickly doing the same. “Well, let’s go.”
“Yaay!” Chaya says, happily dashing from the room. You and Meloka follow after her, Meloka flying up to your back and hanging on tight. You can almost feel her worry radiating off of her, you entwining your tails as you walk. After a few moments Chaya runs back to you, confused. “You comin’?”
“Of course.” you say, Chaya still looking at you with her eyes furrowed. “...What’s wrong kiddo?”
“You okay?” she asks, tilting her head. “You don’ seem excited. Is... Is he really scary?”

At first you’re not sure how to respond, thoughts swirling through your mind. You immediately extend your ki sense, sensing the Arbiter’s massive power nowhere to be found. There is plenty you could tell her; that this fight would be to the death, that he’s a terrifyingly powerful and competent foe, or that you’re angry enough at the Arbiter for what he did that you’ll have to make sure you won’t accidentally go Berserk when you see him. But you decide to keep it simple, telling her just enough for her to understand. You take a knee, putting your hands on Chaya’s shoulders.

“He’s the one who attacked our home, Chaya.” you say, your daughter’s eyes widening in shock. “He led the Covenant attack on our planet.”
“He did?” Chaya asks, brow furrowing and lips pursing. After a moment of contemplation from her, you thinking she looks adorable, she then speaks up. “He made Raven cry. He a bassard!”
“That he is.” Meloka says, reaching over your shoulder and ruffling Chaya’s hair. He made Raven cry? Something to ask later. “And your father’s gonna take him down. Right hun?”
“Yeah.” you reply, letting go of Chaya and standing up. “Let’s go.”

The three of you all make your way from your ship, Chaya skipping along and singing something. Bakuretsu? You wonder where she learned that word, and what it means. But as you all leave the ship, walking down the ramp you see two of Vox’s floating screens. They both turn towards your arrival, you seeing Vox on the screen to your left and the Arbiter in the screen to your right. Upon seeing the Arbiter your eyes narrow, walking towards the two screens.

“Well well, we meet again, Saiyan.” the Arbiter says, glaring at you with his one good eye. His right eye is still scarred, the mark you left in his helmet when you ruined his eye not removed. “Hadn’t had enough of me beating you yet?”
“I’m still standing.” you reply, glaring at the Arbiter. “But so are you. It’s time to fix that.”
“Daddy’s gonna kick your butt!” Chaya shouts at the Arbiter’s screen, the Arbiter glaring at her, then turning to you a moment then turning back to Vox.
“So I just have to come by and kill this Saiyan, right?” he asks.
“Alright alright, save it for the arena you two.” Vox says, taking command of the conversation. “Now, let’s get down to business. Arbiter, how long until you’ll arrive?”
“Four months.” the Arbiter says.
“Hmm, alright, good.” Vox says, turning to you. “Alright, we need to set some rules. Or no rules at all, and it ends when one of you is dead.”

“No outside help of course, this is one on one.” you say, thinking. An idea strikes you, one that could potentially make all the difference in this fight. “And only whatever weapons you can carry. No stockpiles of weapons left in our arena, just what we each bring along.”

As you say this you unsling your Gravity Hammer, Meloka dropping down as you rest the weapon on your shoulder. The Arbiter glares at you, while Vox seems to be enjoying it.

“A survival match, with only your wits and whatever tools you bring with you? Perfect, just perfect!” he says, dictating to a robot behind him to write that down. “Man to man, the Dragon of New Salda vs the Sword of Sanghelios in a cross-planet grudge match for the ages! Wonderful gentlemen, wonderful. The audiences will eat this up!”
“I couldn’t care less.” the Arbiter says, not taking his glare from you. “All I have to do is kill you, Karn. Whatever rules you make, the where and when doesn’t matter, but I have no choice but to win. You decide these pitiful rules and pick the planet you wish to be your grave.”

With that, the Arbiter disconnects, hanging up on you both.

“Bah, what a spoilsport!” Vox complains, dropping into his chair with a sigh. “Alright so since he’s hung up you get your pick Karn. We have several battlefields to choose from, but which will you want?”

As he says this he clicks his remote, four planets(?) appear on the screen the Arbiter was just on. You again see Shaar, most of the planet still icy yet a large swath of the largest continent has been turned into a molten hellscape. The next of the four you see is the Valix Belt again, you more interested in learning of the two new arenas.

“We have two new stages to choose from this time as well as two previous ones.” Vox says, pulling up the first. You look around the cursed robotic burial grounds of Catacrom 4, seeing mechanical corpses shuffling around. “One of your arenas can be the ancient robot burial ground of Catacrom 4. These cursed ruins could be your battlefield, facing down each other as well as endless armies of the undead until only one of you is left standing.”
“Eeeeeek!” Chaya shouts as a misshapen mechanical head pops out from the ground, leaping and clinging to your leg. You feel her tremble in terror a moment, you chuckling and rubbing her head absentmindedly.
“And lastly, we have the Ghost Station.” Vox says proudly. “Where the souls of defeated contestants are trapped for all eternity.”
“Ghost Station?” Meloka asks.
“Yes, the Ghost Station.” Vox replies. “It was originally a Blarg station operated by Drek, but they abandoned it probably to the ghosts who haunt the staion now. So, Karn. What will it be?”

On the plus side, Freeza and I’ve made a deal to get a few new planets to compensate, but renovating planets into death courses takes time and mone-“

His talk is interrupted as you sense something powerful approaching quickly, and soon Lord Boros slams into the ground near your ship.

“General Karn. Finally recovered from your battle, I see.” Boros says.
“I could say the same of you.” you reply, Boros grinning sharklike at you.
“Ah, Boros, good timing.” Vox say, not skipping a beat. “The Arbiter’ll be here in four months, you have until then.”
“Until then?” Meloka asks.
“Boros here said you’re probably not going to survive this fight, and he wants his rematch first.” Vox says, you looking questioningly to Boros. “So I told him he could get his match in first. “And now that we have a timeframe we can get you two’s rematch set up.”

“You gonna lose.” Chaya says to Boros, the alien noticing her for the first time. He leans down towards her, Chaya clinging to your leg. “My Daddy’s the best.”
“Oh really, child?” he asks, Chaya sticking her tongue out at him. He chuckles to himsels, rising up and looking back to you. “So, General Karn, do you accept my rematch?”
“Of course.” you reply, slinging your hammer onto your back. “When and where?”
“Planet Torval.” Vox replies, you turning as he displays the planet. It’s a volcanic world, abandoned buildings everywhere near molten lakes. “One of my former toy factories where there was an, ah, union dispute. Now the factories are abandoned, and I’ve been debating turning the planet into a new battlecourse.”

“So our fight will be there.” Boros says, you turning back to him. “It takes two days to get there from here. So, Karn: when shall our match be?”

“Chaya, c’mon you’re gonna be late.” Broly says, your two sons flying up and landing by Chaya, the tiny mage Megumin having been holding onto Broly’s back.
“C’mon c’mon, let’s go!” Megumin says, grabbing Chaya and picking her up. “Bye Mr. Karn, bye Mrs. Karn, we gotta go!”
“Bye Momma, Bye Daddy!” Chaya says, giggling and waving to you both with both hands as Megumin carrier her over to your sons under her arm. “You’re gonna watch, right?”
“Of course, you all have fun!” you reply, you and Meloka waving back as the four children take off towards the transport ship at a nearby platform. You watch as they all get teleported inside, Meloka turning to you.
“So, four months until your rematch with the Arbiter.” Meloka says, getting back down to business. “And two months until your rematch with Boros. That’s not a lot of time to-mmmph!!”

You interrupt Meloka by grabbing her up and pulling her into a kiss, your wife kissing back a moment before pushing back.

“Dammit Karn, this is serious!” Meloka says, cheeks red. “You could die!”
“I know.” you reply, pulling her close. “Believe me, I know. But if I don’t kill him, who will? He has to die, and by a Saiyan’s hands.”

That'd be a neat attack.

You take the final flash, and instead of charging it to the max, you only charge it for as long as you can before you *need* to fire
Then, allow it to hit the enemy. Even if it doesn't vaporize them, that's fine.

Now, instead of letting the energy disperse as they defend against it, you force the beam to envelop the enemy in a searing ball of energy from all sides.
The beam itself is just transferring the energy to the enemy's location in the most bone-crunchingly, skin-searingly painful way possible.
Then, after you've piled up enough energy around the enemy to properly toast them, you set it all off at once in a massive fucking explosion, with them at the center.

Not so sure about that.

SSJG is pretty much all about divine Ki and absolute control of all of the Ki that you got, or so it seems. Super Saiyan Blue is a very high level of control over the divine power that SSJG has, though SSJG does have its own advantages over SSB.

SSJ4 seems to be more similar to the older transformations, but with drawing more upon the Saiyans' oozaru form for more power. But if it's anything like the difference between the divine power of SSJG/SSB, then it could be massively inefficient in comparison.

The Ki control that one masters with SSJG/SSB seems applicable to anything, but it seems to be most effective with divine power. What if meloka trained and got used to manipulating karn's energy while it was outside his body?

So, karn focuses entirely on firing the final flash and enveloping the enemy in his ki, preparing to set it off in an explosion.
But meanwhile, meloka takes some of the energy karn's putting out, using it to form death beams inside the ball of energy surrounding the enemy, and firing them at him.

I just don't know how difficult it would be for another person to use someone else's energy, even if they were both trying to do that, and had trained to do so in the past.
It may be easier if they're both super saiyan, which they almost always would be, since their energy would be of the same type.

I'm not necessarily sure if it's possible to use Divine Ki in the same manner that SSJ4 is used since SSJ4 taps into the Oozaru form to get another boost. It's not just being an even superer saiyan than SSJ3 (if that makes sense), it's tapping into something more primal.

But the real question we should be asking is if SSJ4 can stack with UI, or dare I say it, Calvo?

The arbiter isn't someone we can kill in a single strike, so i think we should focus on weakening him throughout the fight by cutting at his joints and tendons, making him unable to move his body properly.
Rather than just stabbing him and trying to bleed him out, you make all those "glancing cuts" count.

One to the inner elbow. Now he can't retract his arm properly.
One to the back of his upper knee. Now his balance is off, and he can't shift his weight as quickly.
Just like that, keep stacking them up again and again instead of trying for single decisive strikes, destroying his mobility until he can't fight properly anymore.

Then, we he can barely stand upright because his body has been cut to ribbons, you end him from afar by filling him full of holes with death beams.

For the next two months you put your nose to the grindstone, training yourself to the limits. Your primary focus is on your Su Ma technique. With the Guardian overseeing you and Meloka in your minds, he teaches you both more and more advanced forms and techniques of the Su Ma style. He teaches you further movements and techniques across the Su Ma techniques, you learning more grapples, evasive maneuvers, and unconditional strikes. The Guardian also has King Cold guiding the two of you as well, as another creature with a tail able to teach the two of you about using your other limb as a weapon. As he teaches you both about using the fifth appendage as a weapon, you begin adding excercising your tails in the Gravity Chamber as well. The Guardian also begins teaching the two of you the basics of telekinesis, and how to use it in conjunction with the movements of Su Ma. As you and Meloka clash while training inside your gravity training room, you begin mixing in slight telekinesis with the movements. When you twist around incoming attacks, you learn to use a slight telekinetic pull to pull your opponent further off-balance, leaving them even further wide-open. You don’t get a very good grasp on using telekinesis, barely able to pull Meloka’s fist more than a foot or so, but you do learn it to a small extent. Where you make more impressive gains is on using your tail for attacking and blocking, which can give you an edge against regular humanoids.

But the Su Ma technique isn’t all you focus on. Every morning you wake up and Ascend, focusing on maintaining that form throughout the entire day. Day after day you do your best to maintain your Ascended Super Saiyan form, working on normalizing that form within your body. With each passing day you find that maintaining that level of power becomes far easier, by powering down to the bare minimum needed to maintain that form. After the first month and a half you have the first morning where you wake up in your Ascended Super Saiyan form. With that success you keep working, and by the end of the two months you wake up every day for the last week in your Ascended Super Saiyan form. But that isn’t all that happens within those two months. Some other surprising developments happen as well.

Something else to do would be to use feints and misdirection.
Karn rarely makes an attack that isn't real. They're always meant to actually destroy something.
But it's hard to take the enemy off guard like that.

You need to use feints and misdirection to open holes in an otherwise skilled enemy's guard.
In the middle of a swordfight, take a ball of ki into your off hand and wave it in front of their face.
Their attention will be pulled away from your main hand, towards the ball of ki.
With that distraction, you can take advantage of any openings they have more easily.

With feints, you simply pretend to attack, but pull back or change direction before it lands.
Like this, you're able to manipulate the enemy, causing them to guard against an attack which never comes.
And with every guard, a hole opens up somewhere else in their defence.
Because you were the one that made them guard, you'll know where that hole will open up, and can strike there simultaneously.

It seems obvious, but does karn do any of this?
I'm not sure he does. He seems very direct with his attacks, but that won't work this time.

While not training with you, Vox has Meloka doing something you weren’t entirely sure of at first. Vox has his crew filming Meloka in a suit with Vox’s logos plastered all over it, covering only her hips, upper thighs, and chest but leaving her arms, legs and abs bare. He has her filming the excercises you both do in higher gravity, teaching people out in the universe how to “Work Out like a Super Saiyan.” She gets into in, enjoying showing off as the extras behind her all drop in exhaustion. As the workouts go on Vox has to replace the extras behind her with machines, none of Vox’s living workers able to keep up with your wife. The workouts she does include ab workouts, teaching basic strikes and blocks, and other physical trainings. She enjoys it, and that’s enough for you.

But there’s one more part of your training in the leadup to your fight with Boros: your Berserk form

At least once a day, with at least Meloka if not Meloka, Broly, and Chaya all present, you focus on gaining a measure of control over your Berserk transformation. You work on maintaining the form while also maintaining your sanity, which is no small task. As you gain more practice with the form, you come to realize a few things about it. First, is it is easiest to maintain control over when directing that rage AT something. Be it Meloka in her Ultra Ascended Super Saiyan form, or an “indestructible” Vox pillar which you destroy with your bare hands in under a minute, having an outlet for that near limitless rage makes controlling the form far easier that trying to suppress that rage. The second important thing you realize is that this form’s power isn’t as limitless as you’d first thought.

The ki rising up from that form has a ceiling. One day you test the maximum limit of the Berserk form’s power, holding the ki within yourself and not letting it out. It only works for a limited time, however, until it explodes out from you. It blasted out from your body, badly tearing your body apart as the energy explodes out from every pore of your body. After spending that night in the Healing Pod, you return to training that form the day after. Over the course of those two months you realize that the energy building within you has to be released, one way or another. The third part of the form, that you only realize during the last week before your Boros rematch, is that the longer you hold that form the stronger you get while holding it. The difference in strength from holding that form for five minutes compared to twenty minutes is almost unreal, you going from slightly underpowered to able to easily overpower Ultra Ascended Super Saiyan Meloka with one arm versus both of hers. You have learned more of that form than you’d thought you would have, but almost too soon the two months are up. The repairs to your ship were finished in this time, and you and Boros took your own individual ships to Planet Torval.

“It’s time Karn. Good luck.” Meloka says, floating up in her Vox workout uniform and kissing you before you go battle and she goes to film another session. You grab your wife and make out with her a moment, ignoring the cameras and simply enjoying her a moment before leaving your ship and flying down to the planet below. You can sense Boros as he begins descending a few moments after you land, flying down to crash before you.
“So here we are, Super Saiyan Karn.” Boros says, his armor clanking as he takes a step forward. “Starting off super, I see? Then I shall do the same!”

He blasts his armor off, returning to his “true” form after a few moments. His aura flares around him, Boros grinning like a kid on Christmas.

“Now let us begin!” he shouts, blasting at you.

“And this match is off to an explosive start, Juanita!” Dallas shouts. “Boros and Karn wasted no time, launching into a ferocious exchange of tremendous power... Is what I’d like to be saying. For a moment you’re distracted, Boros throwing a surprise elbow at your nose. But you manage to dodge the surprise hit, his elbow barely grazing your cheek as you twist past his attack. With renewed intensity you continue your assault, your blade leaving deep tracks in his torso and arms that seem to heal themselves moments later, leaving no noticeable traces. What the hell is going on?

“Juanita, what’s going on?” Dallas asks, sounding slightly bored. “I just can’t keep up with this battle.”
“It would seem that Karn’s sword is cutting Boros, yet the pirate lord’s regeneration is healing himself from each and every one of Karn’s strikes. Boros’s people’s physiology is quite impressive, well-suited to battle.”

You continue moving around, slicing Boros as he does his best to hit you. Unfortunately for him, he’s unable to land a single blow as you continuously carve him from head to toe. You can feel his frustration rising by the second, you always just a few inches from his reach.

“ENOUGH!!” Boros roars in outrage, blasting you back with a powerful Explosive Wave. You’re knocked back and away, rolling through the air several times until you regain control. With a wordless shout you brace yourself, activating your Unmovable Energy Body moments before Boros’s fist slams into your jaw. He strikes with his full power, sending you flying uncontrollably away. However, you barely felt his strike. You’ve taken harder hits when training with Freeza. Boros unloads on you far faster than you can track, striking you from every side seemingly simultaneously. You remain in the crater you made, Boros landing at the top and panting slightly. “Are you just gonna lay there and let me beat you?! Or are you going to get up and fight back already?!!”

You know he’s baiting you, his ki dropping much faster than yours is. This form drains his power far faster than your defense drains yours, if you continue this war of attrition you will win. But is that how you really want to win?

“Nah, I was just testing out a new technique.” you reply, ending your technique and rising to your feet. Your arms and legs are a bit stiff and hard to move, your body is going to be covered in bruises tomorrow. But first, you have to win this fight! You roar, flaring your golden aura back up around you as your lightning dances around you. This fight’s not over yet!

Not being able to fly or move while using it is a major weakness. While your aura is hardened completely surrounding your body, you can’t send more ki out through it and below you to fly. On the plus side, it allowed you to weather the storm of Boros’s strikes virtually unscratched. And renaming it will be something to do after the battle.

“Nah, I was just testing out a new technique.” you reply, ending your Unmovable Energy Body technique and rising to your feet. Your arms and legs are a bit stiff and hard to move, you can tell that your body is going to be covered in bruises tomorrow. But first, you have to win this fight! You roar, flaring your golden aura back up around you as your lightning dances around you. “Playtime’s over!”
“In a stunning declaration of war, Karn has just declared that he’s only been playing around with his opponent, and is now ready to get down to business!” Dallas shouts as you flare your golden aura wildly around yourself. “Juanita, your thoughts?”
“That was an effective technique Karn used.” she says, Boros glaring at you. “It seems he was able to withstand Boros’s initial assault and sustained little to no actual damage. Boros seems to be in far worse shape than Karn, for the moment. But this battle is far from over.”
“I couldn’t have said it better myself.” Dallas says.

“I knew you were strong, Super Saiyan.” Boros says, panting as you feel his aura slowly declining. “But that technique was certainly surprising. Since you’re one who favors overwhelming aggression over defense, it wasn’t something I was prepared for. But, that doesn’t mean I will simply give up!”

With this declaration Boros flares his aura up around himself again, his power rising back up to it’s peak. His strength far eclipses yours, but you’re beginning to think that he can’t maintain this level of power for too much longer. He didn’t last very long against Meloka like this, after all. You see him tense up, preparing to move as you drop down into your own fighting stance.

As Boros starts to move you launch yourself right at him as well, the two of you slamming into each other with a colossal impact. Your right fists slam hard into each others, the power knocking both of you back. You and Boros clash, trading blows faster and faster and faster. You flip and twist around Boros, trying to attack him from all sides as Boros does the same. You both strike each other over and over, unable to block each other’s strikes. Despite Boros’s speed you manage to keep the advantage, twisting and flipping past his attacks and countering with crushing blows. For every hit he manages to land on you, you strike him a half-dozen times.

You and Boros clash back and forth across the surface of the planet, trading blows of such power that level the abandoned buildings around you. Boros punches at you with a left, you twisting around it and kicking him in head. He takes your hit and tries to retaliate against it, you backflipping and uppercutting him with your tail then driving your elbow into his gut, sending him crashing to the ground. You drift back to the ground, the dust settling as he coughs up blood onto the ground. He rises unsteadily to his feet, coughing up again then glaring at him.

“That’s the way, Karn!” he says, chest heaving as blood drips from his mouth. “Coma and give me your best! Show me your desire to win!”

With that he flares his aura up again, but this time it’s different. His aura turns a brilliant white, you feeling his power rising even higher than his previous peak. What is this?

“HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!” he shouts, exploding off the ground faster than you can react to, slamming his fist hard into your jaw. Unlike before, the force of this attack isn’t uncontrolled. It’s all focused, the entirety of his attack’s force slamming into you and sending you flying. You felt something crack when he hits you, Boros launching back after you and unleashing a barrage of blows from all sides. He unloads for several seconds then slams you down hard to the ground.

“D-Dammit!” you mutter, rising unsteadily to your feet as Boros slams to the ground before you, white lightning dancing along his body. His chest is heaving harder than before, Boros is looking like he’s on his last legs, but you may not be able to withstand another attack.

“Let’s end this!” you shout, flaring your aura up wildly around you as you launch yourself high into the air. Pulling your right fist back, you conjure [DRAGON FORCE] around you, your Stand roaring in defiance at Lord Boros.
“Yes, that’s the way!” Boros shouts, his glowing white aura flaring up around himself again as he prepares to charge. You and [DRAGON FORCE] roar in unison, charging headlong right at Boros. He charges straight into your dragon’s maw, your fists slamming into each other’s. You and your Stand’s overwhelming combined power overwhelms Boros, you punching through his fist, his arm, and then his torso. You charge straight through Boros, your attack filling him with ki as you pass through until he explodes.

Once Boros explodes, you deactivate [DRAGON FORCE], panting in exhaustion as you turn back to your foe. You see what’s left of him falling to the ground, crashing on top of a building and laying unmoving. You fly over to him, feeling your own strength lagging as Dallas and the audience cheers your victory on. You land by Boros, sensing his remaining ki plummeting fast. Dammit, he’s not gonna make it! You flare your golden aura back up, gathering your ki into your right hand and sending it down into Boros. His eye snaps open, you sensing him focusing the energy you send him on repairing his critically damaged body. You drop to a knee as you pour more and more energy into Lord Boros, him repairing his torso and right arm as your vision swims. You fall to your side, Boros sitting up as your own vision dims. Dammit, you gave away too much of your power...

“Karn? Dammit Karn, don’t you give up.” you hear a voice, as if it’s coming from far away. You suddenly feel a warm glow in your chest, it spreading throughout your body. Suddenly you feel your eyes open, seeing Meloka’s worried face looking down at you.
“Hey hun.” you say, reaching up with a shaky arm and cupping her cheek. “Saving me again?”
“You idiot.” she says, flicking you on the forehead. It probably didn’t seem like much, but it like a hammer blow. “What were you thinking?”
“He was aiming to win.” Boros replies, you seeing he’s in his repressed form despite not wearing his power-limitig armor. You can sense his energy is almost completely gone. “And then he saved me. I haven’t been that close to death in a long time....”

“And he’s alright folks!!” Dallas shouts from right behind your head, you wincing at the volume. Meloka helps you to your feet, helping hold you upright as the announcers craft floats closer to you. “And despite winning in an overwhelmish show of force, he then used his powers to heal Lord Boros and save him from death!”
“Karn, your thoughts?” Juanita asks, holding a mic out to you.

I’d assumed we wouldn’t want to waste any of the energy we’d stored on what’s essentially a sparring match, with the fight with the Arbiter on the horizon. And I’d assume siphoning power from it requires some concentration, so using it while we were desperately transfusing our power into Boros might have been a no go.

“Well, I’d like to thank Gleeman Vox for hosting the fights me and my family have been enjoying, and Boros for fighting with me.” you say, the announcers visibly confused by your opening remarks. They were clearly not expecting a more polished remark from you, your time spent preparing with Freeza for this during during the two day trip. You remember it for a moment, smiling at the memory.

“Greetings Karn.” Freeza had said to you telepathically. “I hear your rematch with Boros is coming up.”
“Yeah, I’m ready for him.” you reply to him, keeping your workout going. “What’s going on Lord Freeza?”
“We need to work on your presentation.”
“Presentation?” you asked, doing vertical one-armed pushups. “What do you mean?”
“When you talk to the press, like those announcers, I need to teach you how to handle those types. We need to get you a bit of class.” Freeza had told you. For the two days of the trip, Freeza coached you through how to talk to them. And all of this training begins paying off right now.

“But on a more serious note, I learned what I need to work on and improve before my upcoming deathmatch.” you say, standing tall and “showing confidence” as Freeza told you to do.
“Oh, and what’s that?” Dallas asks. Freeza had told you not to go into detail about your training, you using the dodge he taught you.
“With my match with Lord Boros here, a talented opponent.” you say, talking-up your defeated opponent to make your win seem more impressive. “I learned several weaknesses in my own fighting style that I’ll improve upon going forward.”
“One last question, before we let you go.” Juanita says. “Why would you put yourself in such peril for your opponent? Lord Boros is no ally of the PTO, or even of New Salda or the Saiyans. So why?”

“Because he was an opponent, not an enemy.” you say, surprising Boros by throwing your other arm over his shoulders. “I wasn’t here to slaughter an enemy. This was a friendly match between peers. And I’d feel kinda bad if I killed a drinking buddy in a friendly match.”
“Drinking buddy?” Boros asks you, questioningly, shrugging your arm off. “We’ve never shared a drink before.”
“And I think it’s about time we fixed that.” you say to him, then turning back to the announcers. “That’s it for today, no more questions.”

With that you turn from the announcers, Meloka helping you back to your ship. You make it halfway to your ship before a voice speaks up from behind you.

“Did you mean it?” Boros asks, you turning back towards him. His brow is furrowed, the pirate lord looking confused.
