/qst/ - Quests

You sit inside your 'room', and quietly kick your feet as you sit at the edge of your bed. They brought in more Exorcists today, supposedly to help with a particularly bad case. You can still hear the growls and snarls, somewhere else along the building complex.

You kick your feet a bit more, before sliding off the bed. You have some time to kill before your daily checkup anyway. What do you do first?

>Look around the room.
It's simple place, you note as you look aorund. A bed, a drawer, a mini-fridge in one corner of it, and the walls are bare. Completely plain white. Though you have taken to putting up sketches and drawings of your best friend across it.

Which reminds you, they should be coming over again soon. But who are they?
>A Queen shining with celestial moonlight, her soul blossoming with a light that warms and purifies all around her of taint and corruption. A ruler for a millennium of light
>A girl with hair as white as snow, and a ribbon of yellow around her neck with laughter and compassion to share with all. Behind her follows a supposed god of the world and an all-seeing meat
>A boy clothed in greens, and with a bravery and courage few can match. He's accompanied by two who journey with him, their buzz a soothing noise to distance yourself from the pain around you
>A young girl, around your age physically, but with eyes that speak to a knowledge and understanding beyond comprehension. She has more friends too, all strange and odd by most standards, but so kindly and warm to you

It doesn't take long after that for her to appear, a single point of light shining amidst the room, and pulling itself into the common form you've come to know and love.

"Sorry for being late." She says, voice like a quiet whisper. "Are you ok? Has everything been going well?"

You grin at her, and tell her that everything's going well, before asking her about how things are going on her end.

"It's rather hectic honestly." She smiles back. "Everything is different, everyone is different. But my friends are still with me, and there's still suffering across the world. There are still people to save, and that's what matters, right?"

She turns to look around your room, her head tilted slightly, smile still spread on her lips.

"Your drawings are getting better. Though I don't think Ami would like the look you gave her." She chuckles, and you share in it for a moment.

"Would you like for us to walk around the complex together? You seem like you could use some fresh-air." She looks at you after your laughter dies down, eyes compassionate and warm. Patiently awaiting your answer as she always has.

>Say "Yes, I could, thank you. It gets boring sitting in this room"
You nod, and tell her just how boring it is in this room.

"Then let's go then." She takes your hand, and you follow her out the door. It's somewhat late, so when you step outside, the hallway is only lit by a few of the overhead lights. You can hear some of your 'siblings' interacting with some of the support staff and caretakers, and you can vaguely detect that some have entered one of their wolf forms for it. You can also tell that some are already undergoing *that* process, judging by the groans coming from rooms chained off down the hall. Its laways unpleasant when you go through it, and is almost universally dangerous form your experiences.

"So, do you wish for us to find your friends?" the Queen smiles down at you as she asks her question. "I know at least three of them are just down here."

You DO recall that you scheduled a meeting with them later (or at least, your caretakers did). It would be nice to see them. But who do you go and see first?
>Lance: He's the funniest and probably the calmest amongst them. Probably helps that he didn't experience the Change at all
>Chris: He can be a bit gruff (and is honestly somewhat of a dick), but he has a good heart. Though the Queen says she feels like he's hurting inside
>Sam: Cold, analytical, and somewhat creepy, thats Sam in a nutshell. He isn't exactly a very "warm" person, and even your other 'siblings' get unnerved by him. The Queen says that "there's something in his soul", but you have no idea what it is. You've been warned to be wary around him, however.

You decide to head for Lance's room above the others. He can't see your best friend because he hasn't ex0erienced the Change at all, but that doesn't mean that he isn't good company. He's probably better than your other choices even.

It takes a short little jog down the hall (passing a few of the Exorcists and those 'Conciliator'guys on your way) before you reach Lance's door, plain and unmarred completely. Pushing it open, with the Queen behind you, you find him laying on his bed facing up, face obscured by a comic he's placed over it. Even from here, and without your wolf senses, you can tell that he's asleep just from the force of his snores alone.

You poke and prod at him for a few seconds, the Queen standing and quietly chuckling behind you. You then attempt to rock him awake, but the most that does is dislodge the comic from his face.

You grunt in annoyance a bit, before moving onto plan B-

>Loudly wake him up.
Which is to stomp your feet, and then shove him off the bed whilst shouting at him to wake up.

As he falls sprawled onto the floor, sputtering and waving his arms about, you put on the most innocent and completely-without-fault face you can muster up. He manages to reorient himself just enough to look up and glare at you somewhat, though it's difficult to tell.

"Dude, the actual hell?"

You smile and shout out a good morning to him, as he pulls himself up and fixes himself back into bed, eyes remaining closed the whole time.

"I absolutely hate you, you know?" he mutters as he pulls his sheets over himself again. "And no, it's always a good thing to sleep while we have bad guests. Especially when it's the Exorcists."

"Though I really have to ask, did you just come here to annoy me, or is there a reason for waking me up at this time?" he sits himself up slightly, still fumbling with the bed spread. "What about Sam or Chris? Why don't you go and bother them instead? You know how I like my sleep."

He grunts in annoyance, eyes still closed.

"Definitely not. Maybe other kids, but not me. They pretty much ditched me the moment I started getting associated with 'weird' people, even before this whole shitshow."

"The moment they thought they couldn't bring me to their fancy-ass get-togethers with people of power, they basically cut me off" he sighs out. "I've been treated more like a person here than I've ever been with them."

>To be honest, you're the only person here who I actually like. And besides, my caretakers scheduled a meeting with you for me.
"If they bothered scheduling a meeting, then something is definitely up." his eyes partly open as he sits up, and decides to ditch the sheets and bed entirely, hoping off to stand and stretch himself.

"I'm heading out for a little late snack. You can come if you want, though you might want to go and get Chris first. He gets pissy if he doesn't get invites to hang with the rest of us." And with that, he starts strolling towards and out the door, walking right by the serenely smiling Queen as he does so.

>Go to Chris.
>Let’s go get Chris.
You decide to go out and go get Chris. His room isn't that far, only like a minute walk from Lance's. You suspect Lance didn't go and get him himself mostly because he can't be bothered.

As you reach his door, covered in scratch and claw marks, you can already hear that characteristic growl of irritation a lot of Changed end up developing. Ignoring it, you push open the door, with the Queen following behind as always.

...And have to immediately dodge a baseball bat flying towards your head at dangerous speeds. Looking toward, you see Chris, arm outstretched, and eyes glowing a deep yellow as he growls.

"Dare I ask what you think you're doing here? Because if it's an ass-whooping, that's perfectly fine with me."

"Have you ever had that guy look at you? And I mean really *look*. It's like he's breaking you apart and reassembling you all over again. Just trying to see what makes you tick, that perfect little fucking part that makes up your soul so that he can take it, and then leave you a mess of scattered parts that he can repurpose later." he shivers. "He's worse than all the fucking spirit bullshit going on around here, and that's saying something. There's something wrong with that bastard, and I'm not going to try and find out what."

"I'll come along, but don't involve me with Sam. You can go and get your own soul eaten, you crazy singsonging asshole, I d-don't care." He shivers again, stuttering over his own words some. "Just leave me out of it."

You sing-song after him as you follow him out the room, eliciting yet another growl from him.

"I hate you so fucking much right now."

You cheekily grin at him and continue following behind him, the Queen lightly laughing behind a single pale and slender hand.

"Like I said; Haaaaaaaaaaaaate."

"I'd think you'd know by now that our best friend has his own quirks, Chris." almost as if from the air itself, Lance steps in front of both of you, and pulls a small smile, eyes still shut tightly depsite him being fully awake.

"Please tell me that you didn't put him up to this."

"I did not, actually. This is all of his own doing." that smile grows somewhat, and you can partly see his lightly sharpened teeth poking out. "Though perhaps I should try asking him sometime..."

"I swear to fucking God, Lance." Chris raises a hand, and you can see the appendage turn furry and clawed right then and there.

"Relax. I have no intention of purposefully torturing you, yet." Before the both of you can make statements (and Chris can throw an annoyed fit over the fact that his own friends might choose to conspire against him). "But I have noticed something...'odd', these past few weeks."

"Huh? And what might that be?"

"Not sure, but I suspect Room 160 might have something to do with it." A shared shudder occurs between them at mere the mention of said place. And the hall itself seems to drop in temperature.

"Nobody knows." Chris grunts out, pulling a phone out of his jacket pocket, and checking through it. " That place doesn't make any sense."

"Indeed, it does not." Lance chips in, Voice little above a whisper, to a degree that your wolf-enhanced senses could only just pick it up. "Anyone who has gone in there has never returned to us, all of the adults seem to ignore or gloss over it, despite their own experiences, and not to mention that-"

"It moves." Chris interrupts, voice hollow.

"Yes, it does." Lance turns to Chris and shouts him a glare for the interruption, before turning back to you and continuing. "It moves around, hides itself from perception, and even seems to steal people from the rooms it ends up adjacent to. Any who are 'taken' are completely lost to us, wolf or otherwise."

"Not Sam though. Damn thing ends up next to his room the most, but he's always back to 'grace' us with his oh-so-wonderful presence." Chris spits. "It's fucking disgusting, and downright unfair. And at this point, I'm inclined to think that he's behind it."

"Likewise."

...Well, it seems you have a mystery on your hands.

"I mean, I don't *like* that place. Nobody does. Even going near it makes me shiver in fear." Chris explains. "But even then, I'm not going to let it stop me from doing my best to help. This place is like a home to me, and I won't let any damn haunted room get in my way!"

Lance looks to him, then to you, and simply sports a big grin.

"Well, I guess I can't argue against you two and your enthusiasm. How about we go and investigate for ourselves then?"

"I shall aid you as well." suddenly, the Queen replies, having stayed silent this whole time, surprising both you and Chris (Though Lance remains unaware). "I won't sit by and let you plunge into the darkness all alone, and without aid! Even though there's so much darkness here and everywhere else, even the tiniest light can make a difference."

Light washes around, in, and even through the Queen. Growing and growing and growing as she speaks, a light filled with warmth and valor and compassion in the face of crushing odds, against even the greatest and most terrible darkness. It expands to fill up the entirety of the hallway, enveloping all three of you and pushing down into further, no doubt to reach even more beyond.

"Well he *is* right. We should hurry on if we wish to get into that room before any of the adults notice us."

"Yeah, don't think we'll have to wait much longer for that..." Chris points on down the hall, as the Queen's light dims. You manage to make out a figure coming down the hallway, dressed sharply and looking prepared for the first sign of trouble.

>Well howdy doo fine sir and/or madame! Tis a lovely day for a stroll is it not?
>Say to the Exorcist "Good morning sir, we're just heading for a snack." (this was our original plan actually)
The Exorcist walks over to you, focusing on the three of you intently.

"The sun has only barely started to rise. What manner of snack could possible spur you out at such an hour?"

"Oh you know, just some chocolate cake and juice sir." Lance replies, smiling a very bright smile at the man. "A little chocolate never hurt anybody, right?"

"Isn't chocolate bad for canids?" Chris chooses to point out all of sudden, a finger to his jaw. Goddammit Chris, now's not the time!

"Well yeah, but you're both supernatural super-wolves, and I'm just a normal boy, so I think the point still applies."

"Even so," the Exorcist then interject, voice low and dry. "You all require your rest for later in the morning. Sugar will impact your ability to function and rest properly."

"But we just can't go to sleep with an aching tummy, mister!" Lance pouts, eyes somehow growing tighter knit. "That would just be too cruel don't you think?"

"Hmph, I suppose..." the Exorcist draws back some, clearly taken aback by Lance's change in tactics. "Very well, I shall allow this. Just this once. But only the once."

His eyes draw over to you-behind and above you to be precise, and widen, as he seems ready to open his mouth to make an accusation, but with a simple brightening of the light behind you, you see his eyes grow somewhat dull, and the surprise and readied vocalization disappear from the man, before he bids you a simple "Farewell children", and continues down the hallway.

You turn to the Queen standing behind you, who simply mouths a "Sorry" in response, right before you hear Lance and Chris calling you over to follow them down the hall.

>Give the Queen a nod, and then follow Lance and Chris.
Nodding to the Queen, you turn to follow after both Lance and Chris, who have made some decent headway.

...Only to stop as you crash right into the back of Chris, and stumble back some. Glaring at him, you choose to look past him to see what's got him, and even Lance, so spooked. Which was probably a mistake n your part.

Right in front of you, a writhing and twisting mass of shadows, vaguely pulled together in the framework of a wolf, lashes about, growling and snapping and snarling at you in its rage. Its form even seems to shift and twist in the dim lighting of the hall, occasionally splitting apart into...other things. How did the Exorcist not notice this!?

It doesn't seem like it'll be content to remain 'passive' for long, so you need to work quickly to deal with it. Hopefully Chris follows your lead when you make your move.

>Since it is a shadow creature, can sailor moon just brighten up his grimdark heart a little bit?
"I don't think I can do so without exposing myself, unfortunately." you watch the Queen fiddle about with her hands a bit as she speaks. "The Eoxrcists would almost surely notice my presence, and you already know how they take to spirits. It wouldn't end well."

Nodding to her, you go for your second plan. Namely, to go Urshul on this thing and hope you can take it down before things get out of hand.

Looking to Chris, you see him nod at you, before pushing Lance back, and shifting himself. His arms start to grow fur, bone warps and cracks echo out into the hall, all as his teeth and nails lengthen to deadly proportions. Seems he's decided to go Dalu for this one.

Following behind him, you shift your own form, and bend low to the ground as the entirety of your anatomy shifts and becomes lupine. Your body swells to gross proportions, as you feel your face push out into a muzzle lined with rows upon rows of sharp teeth, and your hands and legs shift into bulging clawed weapons of devastation.

Finally, you stand in full Urshul form, a nightmarish sight for any normal human, and something to strike terror into all but the worst of spirits. You howl in defiance to the thing before you, Chris doing likewise, as it shudders and then lets out a piercing cry of its own.

Without much warning aside from that, the shadow leaps towards you, gaseous form splitting upon into a swarm of blood-red blades.

You draw yourself back to avoid the swarm of blades, managing to avoid most of them, though both you and Chris get nicked slightly by them. You move back some more to go shield Lance, as Chris darts forward at the monstrosity and brings his claws down upon it.

A shrine echoes out from it then, as the Dalu's claws shred into it, causing portions of its mass to boil and dissipate in the open air.

You then watch as it lashes at Chris with a newly-formed claw, sending him hurtling back towards you and Lance, right before it once again splits open and unleashes a storm of needle-thin teeth at you.

You manage to block most of them with your bulk, with Chris only getting a light trickle of them, and you crash down upon the creature, horse-sized mass pinning it below you. You quickly begin to tear into it whilst it struggles under you, body trying to slip past your bulk and away from you.

It almost seems like its given up, right before it explodes outwards, and sends you flying backwards, toppling you over on to your back as you slide down the hall, almost hitting Lance.

Before you can properly recover, the thing leaps forward, form bending and twisting as it does so, and opens its mouth wide as it starts a collision course for your oh-so vulnerable throat.

You raise your front paws and smack the thing dead center in its jaw (though some of its teeth end up embedded into your flesh as you do so), causing it to yelp and skid to the side.

Before it can recover however, you leap at it, with Chris right behind, and you both strike at it, tearing off an entire chunk of it and eliciting a scream of warbling pain from the beast.

You expect it to get up and try again at killing you, but it instead proceeds to dart down the hall, thick trails of slimy black fog billowing from it as it desperately tries to flee.

"Hey! Get back here!" Chris shouts, before taking off down the hall after it before you can stop him.

You dart down through the halls after both Chris and the aberration you just encountered, leaving Lance behind you, as you hurry forward to end this as quickly as possible.

It doesn't take long before you catch up to them, only to see the shadow thing flow into a room to the side. Namely, the one room you knew everyone in the complex avoided.

Room 160. The wooden door of it standing in harsh contrast to the cold metal of the other rooms. Situated next to it, you even see the Sam's room, though you can tell he's not physically present there. How odd.

Chris stands before the accursed room, glaring at it unpleasantly, but not daring to enter inside.

"Guess this is it, huh?" he grunts out. "Cursed room acting as the source of our unpleasant situation, whilst also producing evil spirits? Sounds like something out of a bad movie."

"If you finish that joke, then 160 is going to have to wait its turn at you." without even the slightest warning, Lance makes his presence known behind you, along with the the Queen herself, having just managed to catch up to you two.

"I'd have thrown myself at him first." Chris chooses to voice, voice lined with mild annoyance. Yeah, well fuck you too asshole.

Without missing much of a beat, Chris knocks the door open, and a freezing wind flows freely from the now-opened room.

>Regardless of his answer, slowly and cautiously enter the room, focusing all our senses to detect threats.
You decide to go first, being the biggest (at least, in this form) of the group. The flowing mass of darkness parts around your muzzle, and before you know it, it's sucked your entire form inside it.

The feeling of passing through the all-too-obvious tear in spacetime leaves you a bit off your feet, but doesn't really impair your senses that much, as the blackness near instantly clears and reveals to you instead a more direct affront to your senses. A twisting and expanding labyrinth of nauseating colors and sounds, the walls sliding and crawling and scraping with no rhyme or reason, and the 'ground' beneath you giggling and screaming at the same time. But beyond all that, one sound stands out amidst all others here...

The sound of a beating heart.

It doesn't take long before you're joined by Chris carrying Lance, and the Queen herself stepping through the rift, with Lance and Chris looking equally shook up like yourself at the utterly alien space around them, whilst the Queen's face turns more serious than you've ever seen her.

You look around, specifically tuning your senses to search for the source behind the beating heart. Turning your head around towards the 'walls' of this place, you see them sickly pulsating and flowing with shadows. Shadows all like the creature that had assaulted you earlier. All flowing towards some unknown, twisting root that you can feel deeper in. Something that makes you want to puke just from the act of detecting it to begin with.

>Ask the Queen what's wrong?
You turn to the Queen next, and ask her what's going on her, and what's got her so on edge.

"It feels like...Chaos" she responds, closing her eyes, something that causes both you and Chris to tilt your heads. What's she talking about? "Hateful, and desiring only destruction and evil. There is no light to be found here."

"Please, be careful."

>continue forward.
You push forward into the sickening expanse, with the Queen shining a light into the darkness, and you heading the group itself. Around the shadows change into an assortment of screaming faces, pitched giggles and whining mouths, crying discordance that tries to seep in under your fur, but the shining light and your own willpower drive them away, your fangs snapping them back alongside Chris' own.

In but a few minutes, the shadows deepen such that even the light offers little in the way of illumination against how thick they've become, with even the ground beneath you having become utterly enveloped by them. Though you can still detect the heartbeat, but now it's all around you, creating deep ripples in the non-existent walls and floor, with the d akrness seeming to press inwards and outwards with every beat. Almost as if this entire place was all just an extension of one massive entity.

It rodent take much longer after that before the darkness is parted somewhat by a flame in the center of it. Except that this flame is dark and offers no warmth like the Queens light, and doesn't truly seem to be a 'flame' at all. If anything, it closer resembles an open wound into an expanse of nothingness that has been carved into a caricature of a fire. And before that dark pyre, amidst by numerous other figures cloaked in the pulsating shadows, all surrounded on every side by shadow creatures like the one you had fought earlier, and stnading beside *something* that you can't quite make out, you see him.

"Ah yes! My friends!" that same oddly mechanical tone, yet filled with so positively alien chipperness fills the writhing void around you. "We so do hope you enjoyed the display of the Maeljin's kindness that we offered you!"

The bastard chuckles, giggling madly in a manner you've never seen him do before. His twisted voice echoes across the void, almost sounding like a million voices all laughing together with the same fevered insanity behind them.

"This is merely the truth, dear brother of mine. The truth of the Maeljin, the true gods of the cosmos."

"That sounds like a load of cult-bullshit to me!" Lance shouts, voice descending into a low growl that could almost match Chris' own.

"~Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps~" the clearly-insane boy you responds in a disgustingly sing-song tone. "But thanks to my associate here, I know that all of this is true and that I have merely been doing my part to enlighten my fellow brothers and sisters of this truth."

He gestures over to the indistinct figure next to him, which burns your eyes if you try to focus on it for even a moment (though the Queen pointedly brightens when Sam refers to it), and then toth shadowed beings next to him.

"Is it not beautiful my brothers? And you too can become a part of the perfect truth and the perfect world we shall create under the Maeljin, if you shall only join us. As proper siblings."

>Charge at Sam and attack him with full force.
With a roar of fangs and howling death, you charge at Sam, intent on ripping him apart. The fucker doesn't even pretend to try and dodge, eyes shimmering with a blindingly mad glee.

With claw and fang, you rip and tear at him, until there's barely anything left to be considered even remotely comparable to a corpse. Just flecks of blood and crushed meat. Your rage driving you to destroy what you might have once considered a friend utterly.

...But then the giggling starts.

From all around you, the cloaked figures produce the sound of hideous giggling that Sam himself had started off with, all slightly differently and yet it ends up the same. A tittering cacophony of the voices of lost children that flow into each other until they become a singular whole. A singular voice in the dark.

His.

You watch as the darkness around you flows and moves and churns, and within mere seconds it coalesces into a mass of twisting black sludge only vaguely humanoid in shape, reeking of rotting meat and a sickly sweet stench that you can't describe. And then the features pull themselves into existence, skin and eyes and teeth, and the same white clothing.

"That was fun. Though I don't think Viruhk-Ur will be pleased at your response to our offer. Either way, I think it's my turn now."

You feel something wet and slimy stab at you, before slamming you backwards, right down towards your friends, whilst Sam and his shadowed associate stare down at your wounded form.

"Iolithae, you can have them if you want." Sam murmurs, voice sounding distant and cold as it usually is. "But I'd like a tiny bit left of that Urshul. For later work."

The warped figure seems to acknowledge his words, before floating down towards you. Form indistinct and hazy, and yet perhaps remaining the most disturbing thing here.

>Attack Iolithae
Before you (or Chris, judging by how pissed off he seemed) can even move to assault the figure descending down towards you, the Queen darts past you and then-

A flash of pure blinding white power alights in the heart of the flowing expanse of writhing darkness. The shadow creatures boil and twist and scream and dissolve away, and even Sam and his acolytes seem disturbed by the bright light pouring out. It even becomes a struggle for you, Chris, and even Lance himself to look at for too long.

As the light dims, you see the Queen, unharmed but standing resolute and more focused and serious than you've ever seen her. But before you can ask her what happened, you see the other figure.

Right before all of you, you see that the distortion preventing you from seeing the entity originally has shattered, and leaves behind a sight you can only describe as...perfect. Impossibly, uncannily, terribly, beautifully, disastrously, wonderfully, nightmarishly, perfect. A form sculpted to be beyond any form of description or words in its stunning perfection, and yet utterly unnerving and nightmarish in how it lacks any form of flaw. And then you hear it speak, and the already twisted world seems to grow more twisted.

"I did not take you to be one to strike so cruelly, Moon-Queen. Nevertheless, it is always a pleasure to try and bring you over to the truth of things."

"Greetings, young ones. I am Iolithae Septimian, and I am of the Excrucians. We are here to save you."

All as Iolithae Septimian calmly smiles at you, the voids in her eyes filled with falling stars twinkling as they plummet.

>attack her again
You roar your rage and hate, and charge to attack her again, ignoring whatever your friends might have to say on the matter. Iolithae welcomes it all with th same grin, and whispers a single word beyond your ability to discern just as you are about to fall upon her.

You feel pain in that fraction of an instant. Pure, terrible, blissful pain. Your body breaking and contorting in accordance with what the impossibly-perfect entity has whispered into the world. Shattering into fractal patterns, and then re-knitting yourself over and over and over for what seems like an eternity, before you are finally set loose and dropped to the pulsating floor, gasping and sputtering for anything. Anything at all.

"~Aww~ I think the little doggy needs a nap."

Chris, Lance and the Queen rush to your side, and you can feel the Queen's light doing her best to mend what damage you've suffered, all as the monster before you continues to smile on pleasantly.

All right. Fuck this. You're ending this here.

The Queen draws her hand back as your wounds begin to mend on their own, natural regeneration increasing exponentially as you decide to justskip all the fucking foreplay and just go right for the throat.

"Oh boy. That isn't good." Chris and Lance mutter, eyes widening with realization what you're about to do.

You leap off the ground, as your Urshul form is discarded, quadrupedal stance discarded in favor of a more human-like body shape, but still supine in nature. Your muscles crackle and pulsars and swell to utterly obscene proportions, and you let lose a vicious howl to the air as your War-Form fully manifests. And as it does, you turn all your bloodlust and rage right upon the one behind this fucked up mess.

Sam briefly widens his eyes, right before your beastly mass crashes down to where he was once standing, him having regained his composure just enough to move out of the way. You snap your head towards him and snarl before leaping at him again, which he dodges away from.

"Brothers and Sisters, to arms. Kill the interlopers. Our hospitality has been abused enough I think." He motions towards all of the shadowed figures around, who move in sync and discard their cloaks, quickly assuming even more monstrous wolf shapes before descending towards both you, and your friends, moving to fulfill their master's wish.

"Focus on him. I'll deal with Iolithae. And I'll keep the others safe." You almost think you hear the Queen whisper inside your mind, an attempt at reassuring and soothing you. But at this point, all you care about is tearing apart all the prey before you.

"Yes, ~yesssss~ Come to me bother. And give me the feast that I have so longed for" He cancels madly, as his own skin starts to warp and stretch and distort akin to your own.

His clothing rips apart, scraps dissolving in the churning void around you, all as dark fur tears it's way across Sam's skin, pushing its way out of his body with such force as to seem painful. Muscle builds and grows and grows, swelling of truly obscene proportions, as you watch him tear ever upwards in size, becoming a monstrosity to dwarf all the other twisted souls here, and even making you seem insignificant in the face of his sheer size.

Even as his face starts to push out into his his own muzzle, complete with the cracking and warping of flesh and bone, you can still hear that demented laugh coming from him, coming from all aorund you in the darkness, which pulsates to it. A vile song for a vile place, playing over and over without end.

Soon enough, the creature before you stands lly-formed, and absolutely giant. Its pitch-black fur moving akin to a mass of individual insects trying to retain the form of a wolf, and both flesh and fur have formed dark enough to make the caustic nightmare around you almost seem a full grey in comparison. Bones tear out of its frame haphazardly, with some rising out of its back, it's arms and legs, and even its head, forming a sort of revolting 'horns' atop it's head.

Growling through the burning agony of attempted forceful assimilation, you push yourself up the creatures body, feeling the fur gripped around you trying desperately to pull you back down in spite of your movement, the numerous sharp hairs knifing into you over and over as you climb towards its head.

With a single roaring push, you tear your way up its back and around its neck, yanking the hairs free from their rooting in the beasts back, eliciting a warbling howl of pain from it. And with a raised claw, you plunge it deep into the creatures neck, sending it roaring and clawing over itself in an attempt to dislodge you, sending itself into a raging topple that crushes many of its subordinate creatures beneath it's bulk. Below you, you catch abare glimpse of the other creatures that arrived with you ('Alilies/Friends/Pack' your more reasonale half provides) fighting off a swarming tide of the other entities, all whilst a glaring light and boiling shadow clash with maddening laws and un-laws in a distant corner of the room.

And with barely a moment lost, you rocket off from it, boosting yourself up and away whilst retaining your original forward momentum. Hurtling through the air over the hordes of raving fur and teeth, and towards the hulking form of Sam, who seems almost surprised by your sudden burst of movement, hateful red eyes widening ever so slightly as you speed towards him on a direct course of impact.

You fly towards his head, where there is still exposed tissue and skull from your last attack steadily mending itself, and with claws outstretched, you dig yourself firmly into the exposed musculature and bone, lodging yourself atop Sam's face and causing him to scream and tear at his face in anger and rage. >Attack his head with full fury, focusing on it's exposed skull, trying to break through it to destroy it's brain to kill him.
You ignore the yipping and gnashing creatures below you, you ignore your prey's howls and screams and cries of rage and hate, you ignore the pain as its roving claws grip and tear into you as they desperately try to remove you from your place atop its head, you ven ignore the lancing spikes of bone forming from its skull to compare you upon themselves. You ignore it all in favor of finally ending your hunt. Nothing else.

The beast that was once kin screams and raves and roars below you, calling for its minions of come and aid it, but you dont' even have to look to tell that those weak hordes have already been forced into an even more pathetic state from your other two pack members. You can even tell that the one with unchanged blood running through him is already holding his own in the heat of battle. And the third one, fighting in a battle against an unthinkable terror, boils the beasts away just from the sheer affecting force of their clash. Thusly leaving you and your prey.

You grin and tear right into the skull, ripping out a massive portion of bone-matter and tossing it aside. There. You can finally see it, the very root of your hunt. The beast's movements become even more frantic, with it slamming itself along the ground and whatever alien extensions this place has, all in an attempt to remove you. But you remain firmly dug in on top of it. Its struggle become a blur as you claw and bite your way further through the spiking shell hiding what you most desire.

As more of the skull breaks away, you see it fully. Pulsating an ebon black, and looking more like a mass of toxic inky black sludge than anything else, you see the 'brain' of your once-kin. And with a crying howl to the sky, you plunge your fangs muzzle into that flowing blackness, tearing into it and ripping at it with both teeth and claws. Biting and clawing away at the muck until you finally rectify the greatest mistake of your kin.

Sam's body gives one last defiant attempt to dislodge you with a forceful slam and weak clawing attempt, and then it weakly shudders, pulling itself up high as you continue your feast, and then let's out a single pained wail of a howl. Terrible enough that it causes even your ears to bleed with the raw force of it and the inherent anguish in it. But you also feel something notably...'kin' amongst that pained cry. Something you haven't felt from Sam until now. Something all too human in make.

As the wail continues, your senses pick up the dimming of the fighting around you, And instead, you start to hear the falling of bodies all around. Dozens, hundreds of them. All collapsing as one as their leader lets out his final cry, his final order. Their very essence which had been tied to him, beginning to vanish with his end. Your lost siblings given some last sounds of their own before finally falling into the true rest.

The battle is over.

As Sam's body fully collapses onto the dark flowing mess floor, you look over your handiwork, the much larger wolf thing having a gaping oozing hole in its skull that drips black slime from what little ruins remain of its brain, its form having stopped its regeneration as it finally died. Looking over, you see the other bodies littered around the floor in similar states, with most leaking some muck from barely-healed wounds.

And as you look over the battlefield, to see the triumphant and smiling faces of your pack, you decide to raise your head to the air again, to offer another howl. But one of victory this time, victory for the hunt. But as you do-

The sound of flesh being torn fills the air. All is still, all is silent. The look of victory drops form your packmates faces, as you feel something twist and turn in your gut. Looking down, you see a spike of bone having lanced you right through the stomach, clearly making its way through the other end just from sheer length and sharpness. And what it emerges from, you can barely believe yourself..

"Did you...truly think me felled quite yet, brother?" the growling, gurgling voice of Sam fills the air, as the bone spear from his ruined skull twists further inside your belly. "Though I may die...You are coming with me as I go."

The lance of bone pushes itself further into you, though you can already feel yourself fading. You can vaguely hear the voices of your pack-friends, calling out to you, but its already growing so dark and hazy. The last thing to fill your vision and hearing is the red glint of Sam's eye, and his cruel chuckle in your ear.

Then all goes black.
