The fucked up Thread 3: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2190140/
Character Sheet: https://pastebin.com/CwcdrCYE

You are Onishi Kana, a Japanese school girl and delinquent who has been transported into a fantastic realm that you have only ever seen in your dreams where your physical abilities and senses have been magnified greatly. Though as the saying goes: “It’s not all sunshine and rainbows.” Only a few hours ago, you, the friends you’ve made here, and a volunteer army called the Cross Guard completed the bloody massacre that was the preliminary round of the War Games. The villainous hosts of this event are the Chess Pieces: terrorists with a bloodthirst hidden under masks and the veneer of civility with the establishing of this game. Of the odd few hundred of Cross Guard who entered the preliminary round, only a scant 80 made it through. The others too weak to make it past their combat trial.

You, of course, passed it easily; ripping the ARMs off the Pawn sent at you and adding them to your tiny collection of magical trinkets. The rest of your friends passed the test with little difficulty, too, but the slaughter of so many other potential allies has gotten to one of them: the former sailor Ahab. Currently, he’s leaning against a pillar a small distance away from camp set up by the Cross Guard.

With him is another one of your friends and the youngest of your small group: Cecily Ashe. Her rabbit ears wiggle as she tells the dour young sailor a joke in an attempt to get the boy to crack a smile.

“What did the bunny say to the carrot?” She smiles, quickly wiggles around with excited energy. Ahab doesn’t even look at her, keeping his eyes fixed to an uncertain middle distance.

Neither of them notice you eavesdropping on their little pep talk session.

>Surprise Cecily from behind and tell the punchline
>Let Cecily finish the joke and then surprise her
>Casually walk onto the scene and finish the joke
>Lean against the pillar over Ahab and let Cecily finish the joke.

>[Anything you want to say to either Cecily or Ahab?]

Let the girl have her joke. Then you'll have a laugh of your own. That's the plan in your head. Cecily can barely contain her excitement with her own joke. She giggles in small bursts waiting patiently for Ahab to give any kind of response. The only thing he can muster up is a single glace at the bunny girl for a moment, but its enough for her.

"IT'S BEEN NICE... GNAWING YOU! HEEHEEHEE!!" She explodes with laughter, barely able to keep herself standing. Leaving her an open target for you.

You creep up behind her stretch your arms wide, wait for the perfect moment and... STRIKE!!

Your hands target her sides for a sudden tickle attack, prompting a squeaky squeal from the younger girl.

"EEEK! Ah Ka-hahaha-na! Wh-hahahaha! What're you doing heeheehee-here!" She stammers out as you continue your onslaught changing from her sides to her belly as she turns to face you, trying to fend off your fingers with varying degrees of ineffectiveness.

"Well, I thought I'd check on you and Captain Mopey over there. You're doing a valiant service, but getting that guy to perk up is a losing battle." You remark, finally relenting and allowing your bunny girl to breathe. She wipes the small forming tear from her eye and catches her breath.

"I thought I'd at least try." She smiles sadly and turns to Ahab. "I just wanted to make you laugh. Its something that helps me when I'm sad, so..." She trails off. You can't see her face, but you can see her shoulders start to shake a little. The ashes of her village are barely cold, but all she can think about is others.

Ah shit, you've walked into another people situation.

>Tell a joke of your own.
>Switch the subject, quick.
>Try to be inspiring... or something.

God damnit.

"Why can't you trust stairs?" You growl out, surprising Cecily and rousing the attention of Ahab. Both remain silent, but stare at you with in confusion.

"Because they're always up to something!" You can help but grin widely and gesture with your finger as you tell the punchline.

You joke lingers lazily in the air for a moment of silence as the two process what you just said.

Ahab audibly groans, gets up and starts to leave while Cecily starts laughing so hard she falls over.

"Because they're always up to something! HAHAHAHAHA! Kana you're silly!" She shrieks between breaths and rolls around on the ground. "And you got a reaction out of Ahab!" The girl pulls herself up off the the ground.

You allow yourself to chuckle a little and take the compliment. Looking at where Ahab his going, you can see him making his way to one of the bonfires surrounded by Cross Guard soldiers. One of them hands him a mug and pats him on the shoulder. Seems it was enough to knock him out of his funk at least for a little while.

>Ask Cecily how she's doing.
>Ask Cecily about her prelim fight.
>Ask Cecily how her time in the Training Gate was.
>Bring Cecily with you while you go check on another person.

[Speaking of checking on other people]

>Stay there at the pillar.
>Go down to the bonfires.
>Go to the Cross Guard Tents.
>Check out the large crowd in the center of the Cross Guard camp.
>Find a nice place to sleep.
>Sneak out spy on the Chess.

The bunny might be sad and that's something we can't allow.

General consensus is

>Ask Cecily about her prelim fight
and
>Head to the Tents.

Does this sound good to you?
>>

"So," you switch gears now, "how was your fight?" Cecily blinks, processing your question.

"Oh, um. It went well. I was kind of surprised they threw a Pawn at me, but I don't think they'd trained him well. His attacks were really slow and easy to get out of the way of."

You chuckle a little and fold your arms across your chest. "So how many cottonballs did it take before it counted as a win?"

"Only two." She smiles confidently. "One for each arm!" She lets out a single giggle before the smile starts to fade. You're pretty sure the memory of her first victory in a real fight against the Chess has been ruined by the sight of hundreds of dying men and women. Hell, it takes the satisfaction out of your completely one-sided fight, too.

The silence and introspection on today's proceedings is interrupted by the groaning growls of Cecily's stomach. It's... louder than you thought it could get.

"Sorry." The bunny girl laughs nervously and rubs her arm. You laugh as well. You're pretty hungry yourself. You could eat a horse with how hungry you are right now.

"Come on. Let's go towards the tents. I think they're serving the grub down there." You gesture for the younger girl to come with you and she walks lightly with you, almost skipping and wrapping her thin arms around yours. Seems like you've become something of a comforting presence to Cecily. Kind of reminds you of how you took care of Yamada. Though I guess she's more of a spitfire than Yama is. Same kind of bright outlook on things, though.

Thinking of Yama only brings you back to thinking about your childhood friend, the bakery his mom ran, his parents, and your parents. You've been gone for about two weeks now. Are they still worried about you? Do they think you died? Are they waiting for you to come back? Is Yama visiting them?

You snap out of your worry when you feel Cecily let go. That's when the smell of the cooked meat hits your nose. If your stomach wasn't enough of a reminder that you hadn't eaten since breakfast, the scent and sound of sizzling beef and pork sure was. You stack your plate high with meat and bread, putting in a little big of greens to keep things at least a little balanced. Cecily sits down near you with a plate loaded almost exclusively with fruits and veggies. The two of you waste no time filling your empty stomachs. It's been a busy day and you both earned this.

Nearby, you see Gaira and Flint having a quiet discussion. They shake hands and part ways not soon after you take notice of them. The large crowd at the center of camp erupts into thunderous applause and hollering. They seem to be chanting Danna's name.

The man in the Armor is sitting near you, still pouring food and drink through the holes in his helmet as best as he can. What a weird guy.

Your eyes narrow and you get on your feet. Cecily is still in the middle of her dinner, but tried to follow you. You place a hand on her shoulder and keep her from standing up.

"I'm just gonna check what those bozos are doing over there and then I'm getting some sleep. You might as well stay here and finish eating." You gesture lazily with your thumb at the mob of armor and booze.

"O-Okay. Have fun!" She nods her head and offers you a small smile. You return one to her before turning back towards the crowd.

Getting closer you hear the uproarious chanting louder and louder.

"DANNA! DANNA! DANNA!" The crowd of soldiers carry on. On top of their noise, you can see that they're tossing around the man whose name they're chanting.

>Try to shout them all down and demand to know what's going on.
