Everything happened so fast. Before all of this, you were Freya Godsblood, princess of Ordamark, and you were the most beautiful women in the land. But everything changed for you, as you've caught the eye of the Dark Lord Lazarus Drack who, seeing you, decided to claim you as his wife.

Now, you're his Empress, the Dark Queen Freya Drack, and your reign has just begun.

Last time, you met the women that your husband experimented on to try to have children. As a result, they became demon-like monsters, their souls and their bodies corrupts, and now they have a craving for soul.

You then sent a letter to the representatives of the northern high elves to try to learn why the were leaving, and you received a response from their king, Filarion. He was very arrogant in his letter, and you told your husband about it, he then decided to go and prevent the high elves from leaving.

After this, you wanted to learn more about the monster of Loch Arnnach, and you left with your retinue to see it. After groping Silviana, you personally saw the beast, and managed to make it understand that you aren't a threat, and enshrined it as a sacred beast of the North Gods faith.

You then used this opportunity to go to the central forest, and tyr to meet Filarion, but he expected you, and when you got into his palace, he revealed his true colors, and tried to kidnap you and kill the witnesses. You managed to defeat him, just in time for Lazarus to make his entrance, and he was angry about you.

You calmed him, and decided to use this situation to have a diplomatic trip to the south, sailing to Lynn, capital of the Hagëndorff Empire, to meet the Great Emperor, then the Queen of the high elves, Titania.

You, your husband, and your companions, came out of the central forest, and are on their way west to the regional capital of Turean. Lazarus has sent couriers to order the preparation of a boat, for a trip to the sea. If all goes well, the trip to Lynn will last a little less than a month.

You are in the coach, with Silviana, Irene, Ruriska, and Shelur. Dillon and Murata are on their horses, talking about how they see life. The boy is very attentive when Murata tells him about the honor of the sa-moo-rhai, and how they are to follow a way of life based around honor. This seem really romanticized, but Dillon seem to like it, as it's similar to the way he think a true knight shoild be.

Inside the coach, Silviana is talking with Ruriska, as the dark elf is explaining to your friend how you summoned two beasts to help fight Filarion. Irene is explaining to Shelur what a boat is, and you see the orc is uncomfortable at the prospect of being at sea.

Lazarus is in front of the coach, on his fearsome mount, leading the way, you talked this morning, and he promised that he'll try to stay diplomatic when you'll meet the Great Emperor. You are thankfull for that.

What do you do now ?

You decide to just enjoy the trip and listen as Ruriska tells the story of our great deed.

>" . . . and then, the Queen attacked forward with her sword, the elf countered her first strike, but she managed to hit him on the shoulder with the second. This was enough for me as I used this distraction to throw my dagger at him." say Ruriska.

>"Incredible, Freya really out did herself. Defeating a high elf king." say Silviana with enthusiasm.

>"And her guardians were more impressive, the wolf would have torn Filarion apart, if this damn asshole wasn't so evasive."

>"Still, I find it amazing that you beat this elf to submission. I didn't know you were this strong Freya. How did you do it ?" ask your friend.

>"Remember I trained a lot those past months. I'm still far behind people like Irene and Ruriska, let alone my husband, but I think I could beat Dillon." you smile.

>"I don't think so, the boy is really good with a sword, he learned a lot lately, and he has a lot of endurance and strength." say Ruriska.

>"Are you talking about his steel sword, or his bed sword, General ?" tease Irene.

>"HA, say what you want Commander, but I believe Dillon his truly gifted, with training, he'll be a phenomenal warrior." answer the dark elf.

>"We'll see, I'm training Silviana too, and for a girl who never touched a sword before, she made enormous progress, I believe she could do better than you boyfriend." declare Irene.

>"Okay, first how dare you, he's not my boyfriend, he's my pet, and second, he has much more knowledge of fighting than the girly, no offense."

>" I . . . " Start Silviana.

>"Do you want to bet ? I'm sure Silviana is able to make Dillon bites the dust." say Irene

>"Oh yeah ? Dillon would wipe the floor with Silviana, without breaking a sweat." replies Ruriska.

Shelur look at the two women amused, Silviana just stay confused on what she should do. Maybe you need to step in ?
>"Why not, it could be good to see their skills."
>"I'm calling the shot here, if one of them win, the loser will have to . . .(what do ?)

>"I know but still, no fighting. Don’t worry, Silvie. I won’t make you fight if there’s no need to." you tell your best friend.

>"Aw don't say that, you are good, believe in yourself a little more." smile Irene.

>"We'll see about all this at a later date. That said, i'm curious too who is the better fighter of you two ?” you ask the two woman.

>"ME obviously !" declare Irene and Ruriska.

The two of them, look at each other with a smile.

>"What this Commander, I believe I heard something strange, something about you being a better fighter than me." say the dark elf.

>"You too General, I heard you saying something unbelievable, you being better than me." replies Irene

>"You know I defeated a demon to become general, right ? And fought several horrors during my time as an adventurer ?" say Ruriska.

>"But I worked as a mercenaries for years, I killed dozens, if not a hundred men. Surely, I am the best." declare the knight.

The two women look at each other, with a scary look on their faces, but they still smile. You clap your hands together.

>"There, you have it, if you want a fight, why don't you duel each other, to see which one of you is the best fighter ?" you ask.

In the evening, the soldiers set camp, meanwhile, Irene and Ruriska are preparing for their duel. They took wooden swords, to avoid accidents, then they put themselves in position.

They look at each other for a long time. it is Ruriska who attacks the first, she turns around the knight, striking her everywhere. But Irene counter or block any of the dark elf strike with ease. She doesn't strike back, Rurisak is too fast, but she counters ALL the attacks. It actually like watching and unstoppable force against an immovable object. It go like that for a long time, and you just watch.

Eventually, they can't fight anymore, they are too tired to even raise their swords. Ruriska try to move, but she just groan. Irene want to strike the General, but she just breath heavily. You clap at them.

>"Well it look like it's a draw, So now you are both satisfied, right ?" you smile.

>"Never. . . . I can . . . still . . . do it." breath out Irene.

>"I'm not . . . done . . . yet !" replies Ruriska.

>"Well, it's time to eat, so we'll just let you . . . do your thing. Silviana, Dillon, let's go, your 'teachers' need to settle this like true warrior after all." you tease.

Silviana and Dillon follow you, leaving the two women alone and tired. After the meal, you find them both asleep, entangled with each other. Look like the discarded their sword after you left, and tried to end thing with their fist. You shake yor head in mock disappointment, as Dillon carry Ruriska back to their tent.

>"I'll take care of her my Queen, don't worry." say the boy.

>"Good, thank you Dillon, I'm sorry for this, at least it was fun to watch. Why don't you tease the General with this tomorrow ?" you say.

>"If I did tease her, she'll return it tenfold. I don't want to risk it, I mean I don't dislike it but . . . ." he start.

>"I understand, thank you, now take care of her." you tell him.

The boy salute you, and carry the sleeping dark elf away. Now you are left with Silviana, carrying together the sleeping Irene. What are you going to do with her ?

You decide to bring Irene back to her tent, She really need to rest. With Silviana, you carry her, and when you are inside, you look at her as you put her in her bed. She's still wearing her armor, you don't think it's really comfortable to sleep.

>"Silviana, could you help undress her ? I think she'll like sleeping without her armor." you say.

>"Yes, of course, I'll help you." reply you friend.

You start by undoing the straps, and you remove the parts of her armor one by one, while she's stille asleep. She is now in hes shirt and pant, she's breathing slowly now. You can see her musculature, her defined arms and abs. Curious yo touch her arms, and they are as hard as a rock, you then slowly rub her, feeling her sculpted abs.

>"Freya, what are you doing ?" whisper Silviana.

>"I was curious about how soft she was compared to you, and I must say, she's no soft at all, this is different, but nice in its own way." you reply.

You then look at Irene chest, then you turn to Silviana. Irene must be a C-cup, much smaller than Silviana, who is much bigger. Actually you think Irene is smaller than everyone else.

>"Don't worry, Silvie, her figure doesn't have anything on yours. No need to get jealous . . ." you smile

>"Me ? jealous ? Why would I be jealous ?" she ask.

>"Maybe because she is stronger than you, but don't worry, I like your bady as it is, plump and meaty at the right places." you tease.

>"FREYA ! Sto . . . " start Silviana.

>"Shhhh ! You are going to wake her up. Now Silvie, can you watch over her tonight ?" you ask her.

>". . . .Yes no problems, I'll do it. Goodnight Freya." she say with a smile.

You nod, and hug her. Then you go back to your tent, where Lazarus is already on bed, sleeping. You undress, go into bed, and snuggle against your husband.
.
.
.
The next day you wake up, and when you come out of the tent, a beautiful sight welcomes you. The snow fell that night, and everything is covered in white. Fortunately, the snow is thin, and you have no problem to continue your journey. You and your friends stil need to wear fur coats, except Shelur. You don't know how she can do it.

While on the road, you encountered several caravans of merchants or peasants, travelling to sell their products. You brought a pounch for more potions and replenished your stock.

The rest of the trip is without any incidents. After a month of traveling, you arrive in the port city of Turean. It is a big city where many ships stop to trade and sell their goods, before heading south again. When you enter the city, your procession is greeted by many guards, officials and the ruler of Turean, a middle-aged man, who looks like the ship captain's stereotype.

>"Hello to you, your highnesses, I ,Phillip Turean, am honored to receive you in my humble city, we have received your message, and all the arrangements have been made. A boat is ready for your trip, with a crew of 40 men, ready to do everything to take you to your destination. They are only waiting for you." say the man.

>"How is the ship, and how are the men, Lord Turean. I'm sure you didn't recruit some drunk sailors off the taverns." ask Lazarus.

>"Of course my Lord, all those men are skilled sailors who have many years of service on several ships. They are at your order. And the ship is sturdy, she saw five journey to the south, and in all those years, only on attack, from a sea monster." reply Lord Turean.

>"A sea monster ?" say Silviana.

>"Oh nothing too dangerous, just a really big shark, only one sailor was hurt and they killed the beast, and in recent years the number of pirates has also declined. But I must admit you, my lord, since the beginning of your. . . conquest of the north, we received more news about some pirate gang, and other buccaneers. off the coast."

>"This won't be a problem. We'll deal with them if they dare." say Lazarus.

hey Qm what is some common knowledge we should know Arcadia, Tharque and Moork and did we train in the last month on our journey?
>>
>>2976874
Arcadia is a principality, surrounded by high mountains, it is a fertile valley, a true paradise. Prince Parsifal (no relation with Hagendorff) is a righteous man of faith, It is said that his heart is truly just. He have a loving wife, four sons, and lead the order if the Paladins of Justice. The only way to invade Arcadia is by a narrow passage, but a fortress with gigantic gates protects this kingdom.

Tharque is an archipelago kingdom and the birthplace of the Tharque empire. Since the decadence of the empire, Tharque is only the shadow of its past glory, it can no longer afford to have lands on the continent. Only his mighty fleet is worthy of mention.

Moork is a fief of Hagëndorff's empire, a large part of it is arid and savage. Some years ago, the Black Moon made an oath of vasality to the emperor, and a warrior, named Lord Thorim, became baron of Moork. Officialy, it is him that rule over Moork, but he's a servant of the Black Moon.

You think it's best to go see the ship and crew first.

>"Lord Turean, can you take us to see the ship first ? I would like to get an idea of how it look, and also meet the crew. We need to know the men to whom we entrust our well being." you declare.

>"Of course, my Queen, it'll be a pleasure. Come, follow me." bow Turean.

You go back into the coach, and Lord Turean takes a horse, and he guides you to the docks. The fresh air of the sea do you good, it's been a long time since you have not seen the great expanse of infinite blue. Shelur is amazed, you starting to think she never saw the sea before. After some time, Lord Turean stop, and you get out of the coach, to see the ship. It looks impressive, even if you know it's small, compared to some ships from the south, you do not know much about ship, but for you, it looks ready. Lord Turean shout, and all the men who were on the ship go to the dock and they line up in front of you. Well, they are like what you expected them to look like.

>"Here they are you highnesses, 40 veteran sailors. They know how to fight, and are the best to crew a ship." say Lord Turean.

>"Good." say Lazarus, "Listen, men. Soon you are going to sail us, Me and the empress, to the south. I demand total obedience, If you can do this simple task, you will be handsomely rewarded. Is that clear ?" ask your husband.

Without missing a beat, The sailors all salute the Dark Lord, and shout "YES MY LORD !". Lazarus nod, satisfied. You are satisfied too. They look like serious and professional men.

>"Lord Turean, now that we saw the ship, why don't you guide us, for a little tour of your city ? I'm sure it have so much for us to see." you say.

>"It would be an honor for me. Right this way, we'll start by the docks, as we are already here." he declare.

He guides you along the quays, and you see fishermen the nets filled with fish, big merchant ships, loading or unloading their cargoes. the place is very animated, but when they see you pass, you and Lazarus, everyone stops and bows. At some point you pass in front of a building with women, and men talking, there are roses hanging on the doors. Lord Turean is walking faster, so as to not stay in front of it more than necessary.

You then go inside the city proper, to the marketplace. Merchants and peasants, selling fish, trinckets, and spices from the south. Men from the north sell their skins, furs, horns and other animal products. You notice that there are only two races of non-humans in the city. Some Kobolds from the mountains in the south, but the majority are Lamias, understandable, as their territories is on the island, north of the city. They seems quite accepted, even if they don't really mingles with the humans. You smile as you see a female Lamia and a child, probably mother and daughter, selling fruits and vegetable.

>"As you can see, thank to trade, the city is flourishing, and I can say with pride that the non-humans a quite accepted, as they sell their products and don't cause troubles for the locals. The fisherman sell fish, the non-humans sell meat of vegetables. Everything is good." say Lord Turean.

You notice a dwarf blacksmith, but he sell mostly fishing equiment, like a steel and bone Harpoon. Shelur is looking at it, but look into her purses, then sulk. Maybe you could buy it as a gift, for her ? After all she's alway at your side, never asking for anything.

You smile, and the two of you go into the blacksmith workshop. You exit some time later, with a new harpoon. Shelur look like a kid who got a new toy, you chuckle.

You go back to the group, and the tour of the city resumes. Phillip Turean explain how the city was constructed in the old days, to counter attacks from land and sea. The city was built like a circle, the governor's castle, and other important places of the city built in the center, and the further one gets from the center, the lower the buildings are. So the archers can have the high ground even if the first part of is under enemy control. The streets are large, so the guards areable to maneuver even on horses,

You remember how he talked about some pirates, and you are curious.

>"Lord Turean, you told us their was rumors of pirates gangs. What can you tell us about them ?" you ask.

>"We officially reported three attacks last year, alway during winter. The crews confirm that they were attacked by a gang of bandits, and they took all the cargo each time. they attack food merchants as well as the transport of metals or gold. But what is even stranger is their description, and where they are supposed to come from." say Lord Turean.

>"What do you mean strange ? you know where they are ?" inquire your husband.

>"Well . . . The survivors said the pirates were northener, but beside the Highlands, the only possible location would be the frozen wastes. And they are not from the Highlands, from their description they were hulking men and women, without the blue warpaint, and tartan clothing of the Highlands people. They were wearing big Iron armor and skulls." explain Lord Turean.

>"No one live in the Frozen Wastes. Last time people got here, it was a century ago, and they all died." say Irene.

>"Commander, I just say what was reported to me. I find it hard to believe too, if those pirates were truly from the Frozen Wastes, why would they attack trades route so much to the south, instead of the northern ones ?" say Phillip Turean.

>"And the buccaneers ?" you ask.

>"We believe they are mercenaries, or privateers, they don't attack everyone, last year, we only had one attack reported from them. but the problem is, we don't know who is employing them. It could be another merchants, a lord, or even a king, or they just attacked for easy money." explain the lord.

You think about all this. The seas aren't really safe. Sea monsters, Pirates from the far north, buccaneers. You wonder if your little trip to the south is going to be easy.
Do you ask smoething else ? Do you want to do something else ?

You don't have anything else to ask to Lord Turean, so Lazarus orders the end of the preparations. As soon as you are finished, you will weigh anchor and sail south. For the moment, you are on the docks, with everyone, you've offered Shelur a crash course in swimming.

>"No way i'm going in this shit." say Shelur.

You are with her on the edge of the water. She refuses to enter. You can understand, it's winter, the water is icy, but it's very important.

>"Come on Shelur, you told my you didn't care about the cold, and it's not even that deep." you say.

>"I know, but I don't want to go in." replies Shelur.

>"Are you afraid of the water?" ask Ruriska with a grin.

>"I am not afraid of anything, I am an orc, of the Purple Bone clan, I'm . . ." start Shelur.

>"We don't have time for this." you hear.

You all turn, and look at the person who said that, it's Lazarus. He walks to Shelur with a rope and ties it around her.

>"My lord, what do . . . " she asks.

>"Shhh, just don't move." your husband replies.

After he's finished tying the rope, he ties the rest around him. Then he raises Shelur and carries it on his shoulder.

>"Lazarus what are you doing?" you ask, surprised by what he's doing.

>"If she doesn't want to go in there is only one way left. She's going to learn on the job." he says.

You think for some second, then go wide eyed, as you understand what he's going to do. When he's on the edge of the docks, he removes Shelur from his shoulder, grab her with both hands.

>"My lord I beg you, Please no." plead Shelur.

>"If you don't want to go in willingly, at least I'll make sure you won't try to flee, now swim." say your husband.

With his supernaturals strength, he lifts her well above his head. . . . And sends her flying in the air. Everyone is looking, shocked, as Shelur is screaming as she's falling into the sea. She finally hit the water, and she sinks for a moment, before rising up, struggling. Lazarus laughs.

> "Use your legs, follow your instinct, if your head goes into the water, do not panic." he shouts at the orc.

Shelur manage to maintain her head above the water and slowly come back to you. She's doing it like a dog. She finally goes up to the dock, soaked, and Lazarus laugh as he removes the rope from around her.

>"See, now you can swim." say your husband.

>"Tha. .nk . . yo. . ou. . my. . lo. .rd."replies Shelur, shivering.

>"You should b grateful,"Tease Ruriska, "our lord was kind enough to personally help. Swimming is really important you know and. . . "

She doesn't finish, as Lazarus grabbed her and sent her into the water too. The dark elf struggle, but manage to go back on the dock.

>" . . . . you do'nt know how to swim, do you ?"ask Irene.

>" . . . . Yes, sorry."replies Ruriska.

You sigh at them.

You look at everyone, and why how Shelur and Ruriska reacted, you're starting to worry.

>"I need to know something, please tell me the truth. Does anyone here know how to swim?"you ask.

You watch with disbelief, as NO ONE say anything. . . Wait, Murata is raising his hand. Everyone look at him.

>"I lived near a lake when I was a kid. And it's not unusual for my people to go have fun in a river in summer."he explains.

You shake your head, and sigh.

>"Alright. Look, in the future, when we return from "THIS" little journey, we're going to have several training sessions, on numerous subjects." you say.

>"My Queen, I think it's . . . "start Dillon.

>"No. we are going to have a strict training regimen. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU."you declare.

All of your companions nod, no one daring to say anything, after seeing how Shelur and Ruriska got the express course. Your husband laughs.

>"HA HA HA HA ! This good my Queen, all of your servants need a certain set of skills, this training idea is a good one. Maybe I'll join you in their training." he says.

You smile at him, then keep looking at him. He on the edge, back to the water. You get an amusing idea, which make you smile. Lazarus notice and look at you.

>"My Queen ? Why are you looking at me like that? Do you know that you have a sinister look on your face ?" he asks.

>"Oh nothing, my dear husband, i'm just wondering . . . IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SWIM!"you shout.

With all the strength you can muster, you push Lazarus. He was surprised and fall into the water with a loud splash. All your friends, and the soldiers present, look at the scene, wide-eyed, as if you did something really bad. But you just laugh. You take a look at your husband, and you stop laughing, as you see him swimming like a pro, even with his armor. He makes some nice movements and comes out of the water. He removes his helmet and shakes his head. He then runs a hand along his hair.

Damn he looks handsome like that. You blush, he notices and smirks.

>"Too bad for you, my love, I can swim without any problem. But I can't let you get away with it. But I'm not cruel, I'll wait for your punishment."grin your husband.

>"Oh ? What is this punishment ?"you ask.

And so, after everyone was dry, and all the preparation finished, you go aboard, and the ship rises anchor, heading south, to Lynn. You watch as the ship sail across nice waves. The weather is perfect.

During your last month of travel you trained, and increased your skills.

You are lucky, the beginning of the trip is going well, the winds are favorable, and the sea is calm, everything is fine.

On the deck of the ship, Lazarus offered to train you physically, asking you if you felt able to follow a military regime. You accepted with confidence. And now, in the evening, you're sore your husband made you work out to the end. You asked hm if it was part of the punishment, but he told you this had nothing to do with it.

When night comes, while you're in your bed, snuggling against Lazarus, you think you should talk to the deer. You close your eyes and try to fall asleep. After a while, you feel the wind. You follow it, and soon you are in front of the spirit's mountain. You climb it, and you enter the temple. The deer god is waiting, around the campfire, with the Wolf and Darkness. He raises his head.

>"Good day to you Freya . . . Or goodnight, as you are asleep. . . You know what I mean."he says.

>"Yes don't worry. Actually, why is it always night here? It's my mind after all."you question.

>"Is this really important? This fire isn't real, its warmth isn't real, but it still feels nice."reply the deer.

>"I see. . . I have a question for you."you say, as you go to them, and start patting their head.

>"Ask away, if I can answer, I'll gladly do it." the deer tell you.

>"Good, Can you give me more info for the Temple District of Lynn, and where the temple I'm supposed to go is?" you ask.

>"You see, as its name suggests, this district of the capital is filled with the temples of all possibles religious of this world, security is very strong, with thousand of guards. The temples are built grandly to show the power of faith. You can see priest preaching in the street and crazy people screaming about how the end is near."he explains.

>"Is the end of the world is near then?" you inquire.

>"Depend on how you look at it." answer the deer.

>"That is not what I expected." You say.

>"But this is the truth. And you will be able to find the temple you are looking for easily, It's the only one without any doors or windows. It looks like an enormous block of stone in the middle of a town square. And I believe Hagëndorff have it under heavy guard. He must be paranoid about it."explain the deer.

You think about what Filarion said, about the prophecy. You are sure the Deer God know a lot of things about it.

>"You know about Filarion right, King of the High elves of the north?" you ask.

>"Yes, quite an arrogant man, if you want my opinion." say the deer.

You take a deep breath and get up to face the Deer. You want answers, and you think you need to be a little more. . . direct with him.

>"My little god, before I beat the King, he told me of a prophecy. I want you to clarify something to me."you say seriously.

The Deer look at you, and get up too. He's much bigger than you, but your Wolf and Darkness come to your side.

>"Ask away, and I'll see if I can give an answer." declare the Deer.

>"This prophecy, it was about the end of the world, but did it mean the end of the world literally, or just as we know it? And Filarion said there was a simple man, that was here by mere coincidence. Could that be Dillon father or grandfather? My husband isn't the dog of metal, is he?"you ask the Deer.

You suddendly feel strange, as if there was no wind anymore. The Deer look at you, but he just sigh.

>"In case you didn't notice, we are being watched now. You just said something that you weren't supposed to know. This Prophecy is feared by a lot of powerful beings, because is could upset the 'balance'. So to answer your first question. . . I think you don't need me to spell it to you."he explains.

>"Yes, I understand, And the rest?" you inquire.

>"For the simple man, it is possible that there is a hypothetical relationship with the chance of having a link with this boy." say the Deer.

>"What that supposed to mean?" you say.

>". . . Do what you can with that, that all I'm authorised to say. And to your last question. Unfortunately, I can't tell you, but think about your influence on your husband, like how you want him to let go of the Black Moon and how you want him to stay diplomatic with Hagëndorff. Remember, the Light and Darkness have a plan, you are a wildcard, think about what I said about the end of the world."he tells you.

>"Alright, and one last thing . . . . " you start.

>"What is it Freya?" say the Deer.

You prepare yourself to cast the Ray of Light spell, just in case. The wolf and Darkness stay by your side. You notice that the shadows around you are darker, and you can see some light going through the clouds above.

>"You are the imprisoned god, aren't you." you say.

>". . . .You are doing something really dangerous Freya. Even if it was me, do you really think I would be able to tell you? This isn't important for you, don't look for things you're not ready to face." he replies.

You smile and walk up to him, and you pat his head.

>"I'm asking because I care, because it's important for me. So let's say I . . . Manage to find this imprisoned god, would you like it if I, oh I don't know, find a way to let him out?"you ask.

The deer look at you, then sigh again, but smile. It's strange to see a deer smile.

>"I'll find this. . . Interesting, If you can find who, and where this imprisoned god is." he tells you.

>"Right, of course. One last thing. About the temple I need to visit, how can I enter it if it doesn't have doors or windows? And when I'm inside, what must I do to awaken my magical powers?"you ask him.

You feel strange again, you see more light on the horizon, and the shadows are getting bigger. THEY don't like the questions you are asking.

>"Freya, about what you must do, you'll have to face several trials. . . If I were you I would wear more . . . Humble clothes, as your dress may get a little. . . Dirty during those trials. And how you can enter . . . ."

The deer look at you straight in the eyes.

>"If I tell you how, they are going to punish me, and we won't be able to meet until you unlock your magical potential. I'm ready to do anything to help you. But I want you to do something for me." he says.

>"What is it ? I'll do anything too." you answer.

>"I want you to trust me, no matter what happen in the future, You need to listen to me even if I ask something that seem impossible, trust me, can you do it ?" ask the deer.

You look at the deer right in the eyes, you're sure of yourself, you know you can trust him.

>"Yes, I accept, no matter what the future hold for me, I'll always trust you, my little deer." you tease him, as you keep patting his head.

>"Remember that I'm a powerful being that could easily destroy you, if it was any other gods, you would have been punished for your insolence."

He says that, but let you pat him.

>"Alright listen, and listen well, because I can only say it once." he tells you.

You stop and focus on what he's going to say. The Deer breath in.

>"When you'll find yourself in front of the temple, put your hand on the wall, and with a voice filled with confidence and power, say "Open the Gate !" and call out the god name . . . . " he starts.

As he talks, you hear your wolf growl, and your Darkness hiss, as the shadows get bigger and bigger, coming for you two, and the Light become more blinding as it pierce the clouds. You are submerged by them, and you feel like you are pulled out of the Realm of Dreams as if someone yanked you with a rope, around you everything is nothing but a chaotic mess of lights and shadows, you know you are going to wake up. In the last seconds, you hear something, something that echoes in your mind.

METRATON

.

You wake up, in your cabin, in the ship. You are sweating, and you feel really tired. You have a splitting headache, and your mouth is dry. You look around you. Lazarus is not here. You notice rays of light. It must be morning already. You think about your night.

A few months ago you were still walking in the gardens of the Palace back in Ordamark, eating tasty cakes with Silviana. Your life was simple and carefree. Now you have an empire and millions of lives under your responsibility. Powerful forces are watching you, and you may have a role to play in an apocalyptic prophecy. You never asked for this. Still yo don't know why but you don't want to give up, you are afraid, but you are going to see this through. No matter who, or what, is responsible, you'll find the truth.

Now you need to get up. You start dressing up, drink some water, and you now notice the noises. The sea outside, the sailors working, and . . . The sound of swords clashing.

You decide to leave the cabin. You know it's cold outside so you put on a fur coat. You open the door and go to the bridge. The cold air of the sea welcomes you to the sound of the waves. You see the sailors at work, working on the ship.

You turn your head towards the swords noises, and you see Irene teaching Silviana how to fight. On the other side of the ship's deck, Ruriska is doing the same thing with Dillon.

Shelur sits against a wall, with her weapons, an ax, a dagger with a blade as wide as the palm of your hand, and her harpoon. She cleans and sharpens the blades.

You raise your head and you notice Murata at the top of the mast. He looks at the sea, towards the rising sun.

You move a bit, and you look for Lazarus, turning your head, you see him next to the captain, who is at the helm. You go up to your husband, and he smiles at you.

>"Good morning to you my dear. I was wondering when you will wake up. The sun has risen for a few hours. . . In fact it looks like you're even more tired than yesterday." he says.

>"I had a . . . very difficult night." you reply.

>"This must be because you are not yet used to sleeping on a ship. The movements of the wave against the ship can make you sick. Luckilly for us, the sea is rather calm today." explain the captain.

>"Then I'll get used to it after a while. My dear husband, I need to tell you something about . . . The empire. I remembered something, and I need your opinion, for when we'll be back." you say.

>"Hum ? Of course, et us go to the cabin, it would be more comfortable to talk about the affairs of the empire inside." reply your husband.

The two of you go back to the cabin. when you are inside. You make sure no one followed you, and you lock the door. You husband look at you with a raised eyebrow as you close the windows too.

>"My Queen what are you doing, you look like a conspirator." he jokes.

>"I want to make sure no one is listening, because I lied about the empire thing. I need to ask you some questions that no one else is supposed to hear." you tell him.

Your husband frown, but nod. He goes sit on the bed, and wait for you. After you are sure no one can see or hear anyyhting, the room is dark, you light a candle and you put it on a table. Lazarus take off his helmet as you sit beside him.

>"Lazarus, what do you know about the gods of this world ? About the Light, and the Darkness ?" you ask.

>"I know what anyone else knows. Light and Dark fight each other, Light heal and protect, Dark destroy and consume. But my mother taught me the nuances. And the other gods are gods of thing like forest wind and whatever, right ? I'm not a religious man." he tells you.

You smile at his last words, seeing his parents, it's understandable that he doesn't follow faith like a simple man. What do you ask him ? (write in)

You think you have to talk to him about the prophecy. Maybe he knows about it ?

>"Lazarus, before fighting Filarion, he told me about a prophecy, something about the end of the world." you say.

>"There is dozens of prophecy about the end. Maybe Filarion was a crazy idiot." say Lazarus.

>"He wasn't the one who heard it. Powerful people were present, listening to this Oracle, like Queen Titania, Hagendorff, Prince Parsifal of Arcadia, and Queen Helennae of the draconic flights alliance. And there was also a simple man, that was here by mere coincidence." you explain.

Your husband looks at you, curious.

>"Did Filarion told you what this prophecy was about ?" he asks.

>"I remember exactly what the prophecy was. It apparently was an Oracle somewhere." you explain.

Despair, and abandon hope, as the order of this world will be shattered, a shadow will rise, the primordial dragons will wake up. The great of this wolrd will die, a imprisonned god will be liberated, the heavens will retire, the darkness will reign, I will be free, this world will die.

Beware of the dog of metal, surrounded by a veil of pure white snow, as he will herald the destruction. Fear the darkness, as the light within will burn this world.

>"That's the prophecy . . . And Filarion thought you were the Dog of Metal." you tell him.

Lazarus look at you, then get up, and walk around in the room, looking deep in thoughts. Then he shakes is head.

>"This make no sense. I don't understand. I admit that I'm a monster. I did a lot of horrible thing, and I don't regret it, I'll do them again if someone betrays me. But I only want revenge against Hagëndorff, I don't want to destroy the world. Why would I create an empire if i would later destroy it." say your husband.

>"Maybe you're going to do something indirect ?" you say.

>"And how ? What i'm going to keep hitting the ground with my sword ? And who is this imprisoned god ? I don't even know this Oracle." he shouts.

You see you husband getting really angry. He then sighs and sits back on the bed.

>"I listened to my mother, I never blindly believe in the Gods, in the Light, or the Dark. And the more I learn, the more I hate them. They play with our lives as if we were pawns. If I could, I would make them taste my blade." dclare your husband.

So Lazarus knew nothing about the prophecy, and don't really like the Gods. Well, you have his opinions on the matter. Now how are you going to explain the deer god ? Or how is he your really good friend ? And how he could be the imprisoned god ? Or maybe you could say nothing ?
What do you do ?

>"Don't mention it, I'm doing this because I want to. Now just bear with me because I need to tell you a lot of thing." you tell him.

For the next hour, you explain everything about your dreams with the deer god. He knew you entered the Realm of Dreams, that how you unlocked your powers, but as you keep talking, tell him about the others dreams, the prophecy, the Temple District, the Temple, and the trials. You see him getting surprised, angry, puzzled, then understanding.

>" . . . And that why we need to get to Lynn. I really want meet Hagëndorff, but the true reason is that a way into the Temple District." you tell your husband.

>" . . . . I never expected any of this. When I married you I didn't expect any of this. I wanted to create a mighty empire, I wanted revenge on Hagëndorff, and now I feel likea lot of thing depend on my actions. And the Deer said that yo are a wild card ?" say Lazarus.

>"Yes, my decisions are going to be important in this prophecy." you shrug.

>"HA HA HA HA ! Then I nedd to keep you happy, I don't want to anger you Ô Freya Drack, Dark Queen of the north." joke your husband.

You rollyour eyes, and playfully slap him.

>"Lazarus, I never told you this . . . But I think you truly are a dork." you declare.

>". . . . I'll . . . do my best. I promise that I'll try to be civil, but if someone try to insult you, Orelliel, or my mother I'll . . ." he start.

>"You have to stay calm. Please, at least try." you plead.

>"Alright . . . I'll do it. But let's make this visit a short one." he say.

>"That'll do, I accept this. And of course, don't tell anyone about this prophecy. It needs to stay a secret. We don't know what would happen if the great powers knew about us being aware of it."

>"I understand, it's not like I was going to scream it anyway. No one will hear about our little talk here." he nod.

>"Good. And don't worry,no matter what, we'll be there for each other. Now let's go, I want to see how the ocean." you smile.

As you are about to go outside, you get an idea, and grin.

>"Oh, and one last thing, my dear husband." you say.

>"Hum ? What this Freya ?" ask Lazarus.

As you walk to the door, you sway your hips, making sure Lazarus get an eyefull of your rear.

>"I feel really tired, but I have trouble sleeping, I have so much stamina. If only there was a way for me to use all this pent up energy."

You turn to look at him, and you wink.

>"I . . . Think I have a solution for you, my dear wife." reply Lazarus, his eyes still glued on your behind.

You chuckle, not wanting to just say yes. You just leave things at that, and exit the cabin.

On the deck of the ship, Irene is still training Silviana, but they are talking right now. Ruriska and Dillon are watching the sea, while Shelur climbed on a shroud, her harpoon in hand, she watch the water with focus. Murata is still at the top of the mast, looking at the sea.

First you decide to go to Irene, and you also wave at Ruriska. When she and Dillon are with you, Irene, Silviana.

>"Good morning my Queen, Hope yo slept well. What can we do for you ?" ask the dark elf.

>"Good day everyone. Irene, Ruriska, I want you to switch training with each other, Irene, you are going to train Dillon for a few days, Ruriska you'll do the same with Silviana." you say.

>" . . . .My queen are you sure about this ?" replies Ruriska.

>"Yeah I mean, our training methods are really differents." add Irene.

>"It will be useful to see what they can learn from each of you, and to see where they still have to train themselves. Plus I believe Silviana and Dillon are skilled enough to learn new way of fighting. Am I wrong ?" you say.

>"I'm more than ready to learn new moves." reply Dillo with enthusiasm.

>"I don't have any objections to this." answer Silviana.

>"Then all is good. I'm impatient to see how it goes." you smile.

>"Alright, then let's go boy, I want to see what you can do." say Irene as she take Dillon.

>"Follow me girly, we need to train you in counter-attack." say Ruriska, taking Silviana by the arm.

You then go to Shelur, still in the shrouds, harpoon in hand, watching the water.

>"Sooooooo, what do you hope to catch ?" you ask her.

>"I saw a picture of a big fish called shark in a book in the palace. I talked to everyone, they told me those shark are dangerous predator, I want to kill one, it will be a nice trophy." she replies, still looking at the water.

>". . . . Do this sort of thing often ? Fishing I mean." you inquire.

>"First time at sea, but in the desert, you have vast dunes, like a sea of sand. There is some creatures, who 'swim' in the sand. I know how to hunt them. You need to watch where the sand move, looking for any movements." she explain.

You look at the sea, the waves making it impossible to see if something is underneath. You doubt the hunting strategy of Shelur is really useful here.

You want to explain to her how to hunt sharks, but you don't really now yourself. So you let Shelur alone for now, and you go ask some of the sailors. After some explanations, you go back to the greenskin.

>"Shelur, actulally, what you are doing isn't how you hunt shark. You'll never be able to catch anything like this." you tell her.

>"Oh ? And what I'm supposed to do then ? I can't feel the vibrations, I can't hear shit from here, so what can I do beside looking ?" she say.

>"Well I asked the sailors. If you want to hunt sharks, or bigger things, you need to get a rowboat, and get a little away from the ship. You leave a trail of bait, a mix of rotten meat and fish, blood, and other entrails." you explain.

>"You mean I need to get on an even smaller boat ?" say Shelur worried.

>"Yes, and after all that, you need to wait, and watch out, as the shark can come from below. You also need several harpoons, some of them tied to the boat, so when you hit it, the shark pull the boat with him, allowing you to keep him in sight." you finish.

Shelur look at you, completely baffled, she then look at the sea, and her harpoon.

>"I mean i'm just trying to help you, you can still try like you were doing it but . . . Don´t push yourself too much after all you are not the best swimmer here." you tell her.

>". . . I'll just stay here and . . . keeping looking for something. And I'll . . . tie a rope around me, just in case." say Shelur with a half smile of defeat.

You didn't want to disappoint her, but she need to look out for herself. You enjoy the day, and you talk to the sailors. They are quite happy to talk, telling you stories of their travels.

(This is the rest of the 74 you rolled before)

Your trip in the sea is going very well. During the first days, a wind from the north has greatly increased your speed, allowing you to cover a great distance. One day in the second week, You watched with astonishment a group of dolphins who followed your ship. You had to prevent Shelur from attacking them when she saw their fins, and explain the difference between a dolphin and a shark to her.

The third week, you saw the big mountain arcadia. These stone teeth darting towards the sky, protecting the principality of any assailant. Impossible to attack by the sea. Arcadia is really blessed, having to worry with only attacks from the continent. Then you saw ALTENBERG, the fortress of the Order of the Knights of the Light. Perched on a high cliff, more castle than city, no army has ever managed to overcome these defenses, Altenberg earned a surname, The Eternal Fortress.

Finally after a full month of travel, you are about to reach Lynn. You did not remain inactive during the trip. You continued your daily training, you watched as Irene and Dillon trained together, and how Ruriska taught Silviana. But in the evening, you noticed Ruriska being closer to Dillon than usual, she's a little jealous that she can no longer keep her boy with her all the time. Lazarus helped you, showing you some moves, andcorrecting you with his expert hands. You appreciate his help . . . . and rewarded him every nights.

One morning, you meet several ships, there was travelers, merchants and military. This is actually the end of a trade route, so all the ship leaving or going to Lynn are going to meet each others. But you still have to wait until the evening before one of the sailor yell. He point toward the land, and you go to the front of the ship, looking forward. Then you see it, Lynn the capital of the Hagendorff Empire.

You can not believe your eyes, you have heard the stories about this city, it is supposed to be very big, but in reality, it is gigantic. The walls are high, with the Grand Palace dominating the city. From the sea you can see the peaks of great cathedrals, propably the Temple District.

Your ship enters the harbor, and join hundreds of others. There is also a separate dock, guarded by a large number of soldiers, and you notice that some of them are wearing gold armor. You see hundreds of enormous warships, this must be the empire war fleet. Even Thoreric, the biggest and mightiest kingdom of the north, had only thirty warships. After your ship is secured on the dock., you and Lazarus come down from the ship, followed by your retinue, but as you are wondering what to do, a man accompanied by soldiers in red armors welcomes you.

>"Good day to you, my Lord, and welcome to Lynn, great capital of the Hagëndorff Empire. Before anything else, I need to ask you Your name, and what's your business in this city." say the man.

>"Of course," grin your husband, "I am Lazarus Drack, Dark lord, Conqueror of the North, Slayer of a millions men." he declare with a loud voice.

You sigh and facepalm. Yep that Lazarus for you, absolutely no tact. A lot of people around you stop, having heard, and you see worry on their faces The soldiers look between themselves, and tense up. The man look at your husband, you don't know if it's because he's not afraid, or if he's really professional, but the man keep a straight and serious face.

>"Yes, . . And, if that not asking to much, why are you here ?" inquire the man.

>"We are here to meet the Emperor, Hagëndorff the Just, and officially open diplomatic talk between our two empire." say Lazarus.

>" . . . . BUT THEN THIS IS A ROYAL MEETING !!!" shout the man.

>"Hum . . . Yes ?" replies your husband.

>"I'M SO SORRY MY LORD, WE DIDN'T PREPARE ANYHTING !! You !" he say, pointing at a soldier, "Run to the palace and make sure our Emperor know about this, we must show all the hospitality that is due to Lord Drack."

>"Yes sir !" salute the soldier.

And he go running. You look at the man shouting orders at a lot of people, you know now that he isn't afrais, he's just a workaholic, fully dedicated to his job, a true administrator. He then turn to you and bow.

>"I'm sorry, your highnesses, but nothing was ready for your arrival. If you want I could guide you to the palace to meet our great Emperor, or if you want you could wait for the confirmation if you don't want to wait in the palace. There is this luxurious establishment just outside of the port, if you don't want to stay here." he explain.

Your husband sigh, then look at you.

>"I don't really have any special want, so your call." he say.

What do you want to do?

You think about it and choose to go see the luxurious establishment.

>"It could be nice to see what this city has to offer, we'll go to this establishment you speak of." you say.

>"Of course my Lady. Those men are going to escort you, I'll go meet you when we'll receive the confirmation, and a coach will be at your disposal at this moment." explain the man.

You nod, and the soldiers in red armors come to you and bow.

>"Your Highnesses, we invite you to follow us, we will be your guides." they declare.

They lead you through the docks, making people move aside. You see a lot of people looking at you and your husband, it's true that he tower above anyone else, and with his dark armor, he looks frightening. The soldier then leads you into a street just outside the port. This city looks really wealthy, and you see people of diverse origins, from the pale man of the north, to the black skinned man of the south, with the tanned or olive skin of the Tharque. Ther is also a great number of dwarves and elves of all kinds. But strangely you don't see any non-humans.

After some time, you are at your destination, and you can't believe it, this "establishment", look like a full blown palace. The door is guarded by imposing men (still a lot smaller than Lazarus) in engraved red armors. The soldiers invite you to go inside, and once you're in, you're left mouth agape. So much gold, marble and other precious material. Beautiful with statues of women or men. All the people here are really wealthy nobles or merchants. You are no stranger to wealth, but you still feel out of place. A man come to you, and bow.

>"Good day to you your Highnesses. This hotel is at your disposal. All your wishes are orders here." say the receptionist.

>"This place was recommended to us by an administrator on the dock. He says this establishment was the best around here." say Lazarus.

>"Oh but that right, we are the best in the port district, our most prestigious clients come from far away, and we make it our mission to fulfill any of their needs and wants. Do you desire a room ? Or maybe eat something ? Do you want to relax in our glorious garden?" the receptionist tells you.

>"For now let's just go in the hall and see what you have to offer." you say.

>"Yes, yes, of course. Now . . . ." start the man.

Then, with his charming smile, he starts to look at your companions, Silviana, Irene, Dillon and Murata, you notice him stopping at Ruriska, her face especially, but after only a second, he resumes. When He gets to Shelur, his charming smile dissapear, he still smiles, but there is no warmth.

>"We have nice rooms for the servants in the basement, If you want, I can ask to see if there is a bed available for your orc." he smiles at you.

Everyone of your friends look at the man.

>"No need for room in the basement, she's going to have a normal room like any of us, nothing less." you declare.

>"Ahem, My lady, I'm afraid this is going to be difficult. A lot of our customers don't really . . . appreciate being with simple servants, and we'll get a lot of complaints if we authorise your orc to have a room in our establishment." explain the receptionist.

>"I thought you said any of our wishes are orders. Are you telling my wife that you are going to go against her wish ?" ask Lazarus.

>"Well not exactly but . . . " start the man.

>"Oh but no need for that. I said that she's going to have a room like everyone, because all of our companions will be accompanying us." you smile.

Now everyone is looking at you, as if you said something strange, but Lazarus understand.

>"This is an incredivble idea my Queen, your customers won't be bothered as our orc is going to be with us everywhere, I'm sure you have a room that can acommodate all of us, am I wrong" say Lazarus with a grin.

>"We have the imperial suite, but its more for private parties and reception, we never . . . " explain the man.

>"Then we'll take it, Now guide us to our room little man, and try to be more attentive to our wishes." declare Lazarus.

You are then led to the Imperial suite. Heavy door of precious wood and gold open, and you all enter the luxurious room. It looks like a castle hall, with crystal chandeliers, and even a fountain. Maginfique red curtains embroidered with gold lead to a balcony, with a marvelous view of the port. Stairs lead to beds, just as big as yours, no room separates them from one another.

>"This is too much, I feel strange seeing so many riches, just for a single room." say Murata.

>"I never saw something like this, even my whole village working for a century couldn't afford a night in this room." add Dillon.

>"Those people are crazy. So many useless thing." Finish Shelur.

The receptionist just scoff at the words of your friends, which make you smile.

>"My Lords and Ladies, if you ever need something, like a meal, drinks, massage, dancers, or any other entertainments, do not hesitate." say the man.

>"Bring us food and drinks, the best you have. After a month at sea, we need a treat. We will also take the massage, for everyone." you say.

>"Of course my lady, it shall be done." bow the man.

>"One last thing, I have some questions about the city. Can you tell me about any places that are worth a visit in the city ?" you ask.

>"Why yes, there is of course the Imperial palace, commoners can just enter the front plaza, but I'm sure that with your statut you'll be able to go inside. There is also the Temple District, and its magnificents cathedrals. You have the arena, with games and fights everyday. I'm sure you already saw the naval base, and the war fleet. There is also the Great Market, with thousands of merchants and stores." explain the man.

You thank the man and he leave. You visit the room with your husband and friends. Silviana is giggling like a kid as she jump into one of the bed. After a while. Several servants (all humans) bring you your food and drinks. This is a true feast, with all kind of meat, fish, cheese, vegetables and fruits. Ther is also all kinds of alcohol.

>"Oh yeah now we're talking. I'll take the whole pork." say Shelur.

You all start to eat. The food is really good and you talk about how this city is like none other. After some time, after you finished eating, there a knock at the door, and several women come in the are the masseuses. They take Lazarus Dillon and Murata aside, and ask you to strip down. You and the girls lie on soft mattresses, and you enjoy the expert touch of the masseuses. All your friends have a blissful look on their face. You find it funny that the girls taking care of Irene and Shelur are struggling, they're not used to muscular women.

(All your roll in Lynn have a +5 bonus)

After a while, all of you are glowing. You get dressed and the masseuses bow to you, Murata and Dillon join you soon after, without Lazarus.

>"So how was your massage ? Wait where is my husband ?" you ask them.

>"They look between themselves and Dillon scratch his head.

>"My Queen, I think it's best for you to see for yourself." say the boy.

They lead you to Lazarus, and when you see, you struggle to not laugh. Lazarus lie on his stomach, with 4 masseuses trying to take care of him, but they can't, you see their faces twisted by effort.

>"My lord you need to relax, your body is so hard, we can't do anything." say one of the girl.

>"I'm relaxed, as relaxed as I can be, it's not my fault that you are weak." declare your husband.

They didn't notice you, what do you do ?

You just look at your husband, with the four masseuses, and you can't contain it any longer. You point at him and you laugh, really loudly. The women are startled, one of them even falls off, but Lazarus just turn his head.

>"Oh, my Queen, I suppose your massage is finished. And what is making you laugh ?" he says with some embarrassement.

>"This situation as a whole is making me laugh. So are you enjoying your massage, my dear ?" you ask him still smiling.

>"This isn't good, the masseuses say they can't find "my spots", I didn't feel anything since the beginning." he answers.

>"It because you are not relaxed my Lord." say one of them.

>"But I am perfectly relaxed. I think you are just too weak." reply your husband.

>"This have nothing to do with weakness my lord, and even if it's true that we never served a guest as . . . . strong and muscular as you, We just can't find a way to make your muscles loosen up." explain a masseuse.

You keep chuckling at them, but you get an idea. You go to you husband, and remove your shoes as you look at the four masseuses.

>"Stand back, I'll show you how it's done." you declare with a grin.

The women let go of your husband, to the surprise of everyone, you stand on his back and you start moving, as if you were stepping on him.

>"Freya what are youuuuuuoooooooh whatever you're doing, keep going please." says your husband.

And you keep going, and Lazarus relax, as you keep massaging him with your feet. The masseuses are looking with attention, as the dark lord is letting sigh of relief, it feels really good for him, and you have to admit that you feel some sort of . . . Satisfaction as you have your husband beneath your feet. After a while you stop, and go back on the ground. Lazarus get up, and stretch his arm, and rub his neck.

>"Well my dear, this was good, I feel really relaxed right now. Maybe you could do this again some other time." Lazarus tell you.

>"If you behave, we'll see about that." you wink.

After this, you get back to your friends, and you enjoy a nice moment, but soon, someone else knocks at the door. A soldier in red armor.

>"Your Hignesses, the Great Emperor Hagëndorff has been made aware of your presence and is happy to meet you. He is waiting for you at the imperial palace as soon as possible. He also put a coach at your disposal." explain the soldier.

You all go out, and you enter the very big carriage, there is room for everyone, even Lazarus has room to sit comfortably. >"Has a soldier and citizen of the Emperor, what can you tell me about him, I know about him from what I learned personally, but what can you, a man that live here can say." you ask

>"You see, the great Emperor succeeded his father, founder of the Empire, he is a hard but fair monarch, he reigns with an iron fist, because the world is cruel, he rewards loyalty and punishes treason. He is the greatest warrior, and despite his age, he does not seems diminished. He spends a lot of time taking care of the affairs of the Empire with a great number of counselors. He's married and have a son." he explains.

>"I already hear about all, from some stories, is there anything else ?" you say.

>"Not really, he won't hesitate to wage war if he feels the security of the Empire is threatened, but he's also a great diplomat, and if he can avoid conflict, he'll choose peace first. . . Unless you betrayed the empire, or, as I said, he considers you a threat." the soldier tells you.

>"So he is willing to listen, something important for a ruler, good. . . . Another thing, I noticed a lack of non-humans in the city, where are they ?" you ask.

>"I don't understand, my Lady, you mean the elves and dwarves ? There is plenty of them around." answer the soldier.

>"No, I mean, in the north, it's not unusual to see minotaurs, gnolls or trolls in a city, even more so now. But since we arrived here, We didn't saw any." you say.

>"Oh, you mean the savages ? They aren't here, if you go into the red light districts on the west side of the city, or in the slums outside the west wall, you'll see them. But I don't think that a good idea for you to go there. It's a dangerous, crime-ridden place, but don't worry, they aren't authorized to go into the city." explain the soldier with a smile.

>"What about the non-humans population in the Empire ? How are they ?" you inquire.

>"You don't have to worry about them my lady. Their numbers were reduced decades ago, and they only live in reservation, They are no longer a threat." the soldier tells you.

>"What do you mean 'reduced' ? There was a war ?" you say.

>"Oh no, not a war. When the father of our emperor founded the empire, there was a lot of tribes, and there was conflicts with settlers, so the non-humans were hunted, some fled to the east or the south. As I said they aren't a problem anymore."

You think about what the soldier said, this is worse than in the north. Do you ask something else ? Or wait until your in front of the Palace ?

>"Soldier, what can you tell me about he Imperial palace." you inquire.

>"It is a magnificent palace, with the front plaza open to the public. After you enter the first gate, you are in the imperial courtyard, only the guest or important person can enter, and finally, the great doors of the Palace, 164 feet high, of stones and metal. Nothing can go through these doors. You have the Great Hall, with dozens of big statues of gold and marble. That is where the parties take place. After that the throne room, from where our Emperor rule the empire. You also have hundreds of rooms, the palace guards barracks, the garden, the great church, and on top of the palace, the observatory." explain the soldier.

>"The Emperor have an observatory ?" ask Irene.

>"Maybe our Emperor have astrology has a hobby." simply say the soldier.

>"And you said the Emperor have a wife and a son, are they in the city right now ?" you ask.

>"Of course, it is pretty rare for them to leave the city, but there is little chance for you to meet them, our emperor separate his duty and his private life." the soldier tells you.

>"I understand, then about the emperor duty, how's the empire those days ?" you ask nonchalantly.

>"Really good, our army is powerful, we have a good relation with the south and the north (you chuckle at this), and we have a trade deal going on with the Tharque empire, and some kind of non-agression treaty with the elven kingdom in the old forest. The empire thrives to thank to trade, and we enjoy good harvests and large deposits of ore. There are also two dwarf cities in the empire. We also have the two order, the Knights of the Light, and the Paladin of Justice." smile the soldier, proud of his country.

>"Actually, what is the difference between the two orders ?" you ask.

>"The Knights of the Light are tied to the church of the Light, they follow the orders of the Grandmaster, and they are vassals of the Emperor, their goal is to spread the faith, and fight darkness and agents of hell everywhere. Some say they can be fanatical." say the soldier.

>"I think I understand." as you remember what they did back in the north.

>"The Paladins of Justice are more . . . Pragmatic. They follow the Light, but they are less . . . how can I say, they are more religious, less fanatical, but truly dedicated. They don't spread the faith. They only fight, and bring justice to the evildoers, hence their name. For them, the faith is more than blind following, it's about honor, and following the path of righteousness with your heart." he explains.

>"I think I can appreciate these men." say Irene.

>"Me too, they folllow a code, with honour. Remind me of home. Truly inspiring" nod Murata.

>"You look really proud of your country. Where are you living ? Where is home to you ?" you ask.

>"Me ? I was born in a little village in the east, life was good, and even if this was a small village, we didn't have any problems, except the usual monster. But now I'm living here, I am a slodier of the Empire after all." he say.

>"How did you became a soldier then ?" you inquire.

>"I wanted to see the world, you know how it is, I could serve my country and experience new things. And after a time I was stationned here. But I learned how good it is to have a nice job as a soldier in Lynn." he tell you.

>"But you never saw the world right ? What do you think of the neighboring countries ?"

>"Well, I don't have any real opinions about the north, just several kingdoms doing their things. For the south, except for some kingdoms, I think it's a rather savage land. Tharque can't bother us, and we trade with them anyway. I know there is another desert to the east, so it must be full of monster and other savages, like troll or centaurs." he explain.

>"You think the non-humans are savages, what's you view of them ?"

>"They are savages, they never created anything more than sticks and stones tools. They aren't civilized, if not they would have adapted and would have joined the empire. I think people are happy with their situation. Some would like to exterminate them, but this is too much work, as they don't pose a threat now." he tell you.

You find yourself in front of the grand imperial palace, you get off the coach, and you are struck by the siez and power that emanate from the building, you thought the fortress of Lazarus was impressive, but it looks small in comparison. You pass a large gate and you arrive in the front plaza, with a lot of people, talking or admiring the palace, and there is all kind of people here. You follow the soldier, as he guides you to another gate, bigger than the first, guarded by big soldiers in engraved red armor.

As you go through the second gate, you are now in the imperial courtyard, and all the people here are either servants, nobles or soldiers and officers. They look at your group and they whisper between themselves. You keep walking forward until you are finally in front of the great doors, and the soldier wasn't lying, those are truly enormous, and they are guarded by twenty soldiers in great golden plate armor. The doors open after a time, with a loud noise, and you enter the palace proper.

The great hall is impressive, you could fit a small army inside, You see the famous statues you heard about, beautiful men and women, armored or in gorgeous toga. The soldier lead you forward. and you go throught a set of great stairs, and you find yourself in the Throne room door. The soldier then turn to you.

>"Your highnesses, behind this door, the Great Emperor Hagëndorff is waiting for you, and that where I leave you. I have to go back to my other duties. Goodbye and may the Light shine upon you." say the soldier as he leave

He leave, and you hear Lazarus sigh.

>"To tell you the truth I feel anxious, maybe this was a bad idea." say your husband.

>"It's too late, we can't go back, he's expecting us. What, are you afraid ?" you tease him.

>"Of course not, don't be silly. It's just, the man I hate, with every fibers of my being is going to be right in front of me, and I need to act as if there is no problem." explain the Dark Lord.

>"Remember what you promised to me, trust me." you smile.

>"Yes, you're right. Let us go now." he declare.

He move to the door, and open it with both arms, and you all follow him. The throne room is as big as the others. with a great red carpet that go from the door to a small set of stairs that led to the throne. There is several great pillars in the room, with gold candlesticks everywhere, and great red banners of the Empire. The throne itself is quite simple, made of stone, behind it the biggest banner you ever saw, red with the black symbol of the Imperial eagle.

And sitting on his throne, Hagëndorff himself, looking at you with an emotionless face as you approach. How to you act when you are in front of him ?

You think it's best to follow the protocol, you don't want to upset Hagëndorffon your first meeting. When you approach the throne, a servant with a parchment yell.

>"HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, THE EMPEROR LAZARUS DRACK, CONQUEROR OF THE NORTH, SLAYER OF A MILLIONS MEN, HER HIGHNESS, THE EMPRESS FREYA DRACK, AND THEIR RETINUE !"

You stop at at least 10 feet of the throne, and you bow to Hagëndorff, your head low, showing your respect, everyone do the same, Shelur and Dillon are less inclined, by lack of practice, on the contrary, Murata is almost at a 90° angle. Lazarus is the last nad he bow just enough to be able to keep his eyes on Hagëndorff. The Emperor is wearing a great red coat with gold shoulder pad, and white fur. He look at everyone of you, and keep watching you and Lazarus for some time. Then he talk in a calm, but powerful voice.

>"Raise your head, Emperor Lazarus, Empress Freya, I welcome you in the Great Empire, and in the palace, know that as long as you are here, you are my guests. I've heard a lot about you, now let us talk, I think we all have a lot to say." he tell you.

You and Lazarus rise, and you look at the emperor, he look old, some with wrinkles, but he exude an aura of power and confidence you only saw in Lazarus. You are surprised when you hear Lazarus replying.

>"We are honored by your words, and your invitation, and we give our respect to your majesty. We hope we'll achieve mutual understanding, and cooperation between our two nation." say your husband.

You see everyone slightly rising their head to look at him, shocked by his words. Even you are surprised, you didn't feel any anger, as if he truly meant what he said, he must have learned a thing or two about politic.

>"I hope for that too, I heard about what happened some months ago, as you conquered the kingdoms of the north and established your rule. I must admit, Lord Lazarus, that I am surprised. I learned about your cruelty, and your ruthlessness, and how you acted during your campaign, and some months later, I hear about how the Empress established trades, ambitious constructions, and improvements of the common man life. Tell me Lord Lazarus, and tell me the truth, are you the one ruling, or are you letting the empress dealing with the affairs of your empire." ask Hagëndorff.

He saw right through your husband, Lazarus say nothing. Do you say something ? Or do you let your husband handle this ?

You don't say anyhting, deciding to let Lazarus handle this. Your husband take a deep breath, and look straight into the eyes of Hagëndorff.

>"You are right, Lord Hagëndorff, the Empress is the one taking the major decisions in political and economic matters. She's the one dealing with trades and diplomatics affairs. She's the one ruling and managing our Empire. I let her do all this, because I trust her. You see, I'm a warrior, the only thing I know is the sounds of the battlefield. You said it yourself, I was cruel, and make no mistake, if I need to, I'll do it again, because I believe you need fear to control. I could have tried the diplomatic way, trying to unite all the northern kingdoms, but I'm not naive, this union would have been buried under corruption, strifes between nobles, anad after a time, destroyed from inside." explain your husband.

>"An interesting explanation, but why letting the Empress rule your Empire, as you fought for it, and why do you let her be kind to the people if you want them to fear you ?" inquire Hagëndorff.

>"Because I trust her, and she trust me. She now how to manage a kingdom, thank to her lineage and education, and I know how to manage an army. She is more competent in politic and economic, and I am more competent in warfare. I let her be kind, because as much as the people fear me, the people love her. She is the caring mother of our young Empire, and I am the strict father, she guide and teach, I lecture and discipline. We complete each other, and I believe our Empire is stronger and united thanks to that." Lazarus tell him.

You blush a little, with how your husband is praising you, and you see Hagëndorff smiling.

>"So you reign as a pair, the two face of a coin, an interesting way of doing it. You seem to really love the Empress, Lord Lazarus." say Hagëndorff.

>"I want to spend all of eternity with her, my love for her is total." replies your husband instantly.

Okay now you are really embarrassed, that's not how you expected this meeting to go, but the Great Emperor chuckle gently.

>"You and I have a lot in common Lord Lazarus, we are both warrior, we both rule over millions of lives, and we are both madly in love with our wife. I tell the truth when I say that I am staring to appreciate you." he smile.

He then get up from his throne.

>"However, we aren't here for that, we are here to discuss the future of our two nations, and as you said, I have to deal with two faces of a coin. So tell me, Emperor Lazarus Drack, Empress Freya Drack, are you here as the Dark Lord and Dark Queen, or as the Father and Mother of your empire ?" he question both of you.

How do you reply to that ?

You know what to say, you look at the Great Emperor, and give him the answer.

>"We are but one and the same." you tell him.

Hagëndorff squint his eyes at you, but you just smile.

>"But, to actually answer your question, we come for peace today." you finish.

>". . .HAHAHA. That's a good answer, Empress Freya. I understand how you complete each other. Now, let's talk about more boring things, like trade for example. The empire had agreements with some northern kingdoms, and your campaign put an end to these exchanges. It would be good to reinstate some of these agreements, with of course a slight revision of the terms and decisions." say Hagëndorff.

>"We'll be more than happy to hear about those agreement, and how we could achieve mutual satisfaction." reply Lazarus.

>"Quite, I think those talk would be better with a good glass of wine. If you would like to follow me." say Hagëndroff as he get up from his throne.

You follow him, and he lead you to a beautiful room, with a beautiful view of the city, you can feel a slight breeze, it is nice. Inside the room, you are surprised to see a round table of marble, Hagendorff sit down, and invite you to do the same. Your husband don't hesitate, and take a seat on the right of the Great emperor, you follow him and sit at his side. Your friends, stay some meters behind you. A servant come in, with severl books and parchments, and place them on the table. Hagëndorff take one of them.

>"These documents show the trade established between some northern kingdoms and empire for years, everything is cataloged there. I would like us to take a time together to study them, to see if they can be reinstated, or to change the content, at your own leisure of course." explain the Great Emperor.

You spend the next hour reading about the old agreements, you knew the Northern kingdoms traded with the south, but now you know what those were about. It was mostly ressources for money, the northern kingdoms lacking the ability, or the will to use all the resources they produced, preferring the imperial gold. You wonder if that why the majority of the nobles are greedy.

If you compare these notes with the current economic situation, here how the deal is.
