You are Nawakubi Hanano, a loving onee-san and now, magical girl.

"Oi! Lizard! You there?" you say loudly.

Nothing returns an answer, your room silent as it can ever be. Albilio wasn't present, or that's what it looks like.

Deciding on the next plan, you get out of the house. Eiji is still in his room and your parents are out as well. Opening the front door, you stop at the street's sidelines, looking both ways of the passage. There, in the distance, was the bridge where you first met the monster.

You walk to it, the arch growing in size as you come closer and closer. Reaching it, you then place yourself in the middle of the bridge, the river flowing downwards from where you're facing.

"Albilio, you here?" you ask out loud again.

"...I'm here, Nawakubi. Was is it that it garners my presence?" says a disconnected voice, seemingly behind you.

Quickly, you turn around. There was nothing there but the view of the gleaming river and the houses at the sides that formed your suburb. A sensation glides across your arms, a hand tickling your skin. Jerking your arm into yourself you try to scout out the area around you. The white creature was nowhere to be seen but you can picture him here-- it then hits you. He's invisible.

"Realized it? It was soon enough," Albilio's voice says. "If you're wanting me to show myself then I can't. It'll draw attention."

"Whatever, I'll get to the point. I found out that these girls are using a secrecy seal or something. Maybe that's why you're master, or queen, is having difficulties."

"A secrecy seal? That's a mighty yet complex spell. Nonetheless...It explains a lot of things. How did you come across this information, please do tell."

"Unless you tell me first about what you were planning on doing with Eiji. He mentioned his encounters with you," you say to the unseen creature.

"I'll correct you. I didn't try to harm your brother, I'm just a watcher, a spy. It was probably another henchman. Since then, we changed up our strategy into something more covert. We aren't after your brother, so see comfort in that," Albilio explains. "See? Considerate we are. Now it's your turn."

Albilio agreed, "True, true. It would be weird for a girl to come to the bridge everyday to talk to herself. Might make people think you're suicidal, kehaha! Take this then, I have no need for it."

Out of nowhere a necklace hits the back of your head, dropping onto the ground. It was a small, red stone, a translucent crystal that turned the sun's light into a dark red color. Picking up, you inspected it, looking at it with a skeptical eye.

"What's this?"

"A communication crystal. Use it to get in contact with my queen. Over the years, its use suffered, now its yours. Though, I'll have to alarm Morgan, who has the other pair-- Now then," changing the flow of the conversation, "That friend. During my time of spying on you I know that you barely have much of them. You're talking about Suzukawa, right?"

You get taken aback, Albilio irking you, "...And what if you're right?"

"Heheha, Nawakubi, please don't doubt me. That Suzukawa was something of a second plan. She, too, has magical potential inside of her. Albeit, not as much as you or your brother but she's still an impressive one. But to break through spells...That's news most rewarding!"

"How'd you plan to rope her in? She doesn't seem the type for it as far as I can tell."

"Well that's where you're wrong, for you see, Suzukawa is a different personage. Under that front of hers is another face, very much like you in fact. While you seek love through violent and discording means, actively vying for your brother, Suzukawa hides her love towards you. And yes, you. Granted, she's a lot more good than you are evil, but one sure promise is expected for her to join us."

"You say some interesting words, salamander. Really sounds like you're lying."

"I never lie, Nawakubi, but your joke makes me grin. A creature such as myself maybe horrid but lying is something I don't do."

"Hmph. You're words are honey but you lack to restrain the bees," you shot back, "Moving on, do you mind if I attempt to talk her about it? She might be more open to me than than to you."

"I'd be welcome to, makes my job a bit easier if there's a human communicating to other humans for me. That and more capable hands to help my queen. You're sure to convince her too as you are a long-time friends of hers."

"Then I bid you farewell. Hope that crystal comes in handy."

The air regains its normal silence, no presence clouding the area of the bridge. Faint steps could be made out but was too alike to a falling feather, quiet and soundless. Dusk was upon you, the sun gone, down below the horizon with a blackness leaking out. It took the planetary star's place, painting the sky into a dark purple. But even though the night was just arriving, the light still shines from below.

You leave the bridge, crossing back into your local path from the middle of the arch. Strolling down the pavement, you pass a mother and daughter, hand-in-hand, as they smile with gleeful faces. The picture was short-lived however, the pair turning the corner as you too.

Soon, you return to your house. In the driveway was your father's car, parked slightly to the right side of your family's property in a indentation. Entering through the front door, your father meets you in the living room, relaxing on the couch with his head laid back. You both gave each other the usual pleasantries until you move onward to your room.

You seat yourself on your chair that was under your computer desk. Closing your eyes for a moment, you take in the stagnant atmosphere of your room, resting a bit before opening them again. Not knowing what to do for the rest of the evening, you spin around in your chair while you think something up.

But then, you hear something from over the wall next to you. It was inside Eiji's room. Curious, you put your ear against it, listening as best as you can.

"Remini?! Otobe?! What are you all doing here?" the sound of Eiji's voice says in surprise.

A timid voice spoke up, "S-Sorry Hanano-san, Remini suggested us to go through your window."

"It was a stupid idea," a blank voice stated.

"Shut up, Otobe! It worked didn't it?!"

"Quiet down, Hanano-san's family might hear," hushed a mature one.

we are also more on the logical and calculating side than most if not all of the yanderes out there. We can mention the name of our brother without having an orgasm and we have other goals that aren't that related to him. Actually we might be more of a sociopath than a yandere.

Bolting from your position, you exit your bedroom in haste. Next to your door was Eiji's, and so, you quickly try to open it. However, it was locked from the inside, the door standing firm within the walls. You then determine that things are dire, rushing back to your room and getting a home-made lockpick that you secretly made in your spare time. Jamming the altered hairpins, you carefully raise the locks that inhibits the door from opening, a click notifying you that you were successful in the effort.

Throwing the lockpick aside you then open the door with force, only to see Eiji surrounded by the four girls, all in unique attire. Fujiwara, the mature one with straight, long black hair and a refined body is wearing a dress that resembles a knight's armor, a sword in her hands. Remini, the one with her hair - that was equally as blonde as you - in twintails, had her outfit styled like a queen, a regal crown on her head along with a wand at her hand. Otobe was in a mantle, a scarf hiding her lower part of her face which only show her blank eyes, the same cellphone she had with her held against her chest. The last one, Aeki, was more like the traditional magical girl, but more...scantily clad: a very short skirt, thigh high leggings, and a revealing top. Her catalyst was a cannon, about the size as her, connected by a chain on her wrist. It looked heavy but Aeki could lift it with ease.

All eyes are on you now. Every member of the group, including Eiji, was silent the moment you stepped into the room.

Urgently, Otobe starts to chant something. "Let there be no words nor language beyond this boundary!--"

"--Dad!!! There are rapist in Eiji's room!" you shout, interrupting her, but a weird feeling invades the space. This seemed nothing to you as you were drugged on adrenaline, ignoring all other things besides the people in front of you.

Eiji tries to explain,"Onee-san! W-Wait, it's not like tha--"

"--You skanks! Do not touch him!"

In a flash, you tackle Fujiwara who was over your brother's body, essentially in kissing distance. Toppling her off of Eiji, her sword drops to the ground with a thunk. Hand gripped to hand, you both push towards one another, wrestling and switching between who's on the ground.

"Eiji, get the fuck out and find the cops!" you command, facing Fujiwara again, "So you're the weird yakuza, right?"

"Yakuza?! What do you mean?!" says Fujiwara, not having a single clue of what you mean.

Meanwhile, Remini, Otobe, and Aeki are bewildered at the sight they're beholding. Two of the most beautiful and smart students of their highschool are contorting themselves onto each other, fighting over Eiji who they also have interest in. They could try to sort this predicament out but they fear the consequences between you and the student council president.

"Onee-san, please, wait! Calm down!" says Eiji again, worrying how things will be if this goes on any further. "They're the friends I told you about!"

Wrapping your legs around Fujiwara's neck, she does so as well in reaction, putting the both of you in a choke hold. Neither of you lets up, squeezing your thighs in the hopes of knocking either one of you out.

"Should someone stop them?" Aeki suggests, scared out of her wits.

"I think we need to let it wait out..." Remini answers. "This is bizarre."

"T-This is your sister?!" Fujiwara inquires, struggling against your hold as you do to hers.

"Yeah. Onee-san can be a little protective at times but I promise, she's doesn't mean harm."

"Guys, shouldn't we not tell her that?!" Aeki says.

"What's the point if we don't. Our outfits say it themselves," refuted Remini. "Besides, Eiji's sister saw Otobe cast that spell."

"I could use the help here!" pleads Fujiwara. "N-Not bad for a soft girl like you, Hanano-san, thought you'd be more affable," she then comments.

You just gave her a scowl, continuing to keep your current position.

Putting all your strength into your legs, you throw Fujiwara to the crowd of three girls, falling down like bowling pins. Eiji looks to them out of concern but was not aware that you took his hand, pulling him to the open window from where the girls entered. You pay no mind to Eiji's fear, jumping out and landing on the ground, catching your brother on his way down. Helping him retain his stature, you then lead him by the hand, running through your neighborhood streets.

"This close," you thought. "This close for Eiji to lose his virginity to those sluts! First at school then now at home?! How hungry can they be?!"

"Onee-san, where are we going? We have to go back," your brother says, pulling you from your concentration.

"Don't worry, Eiji, onee-san will find a way to protect you. Just trust me and follow. Please," you say to him, strolling pass the hovering streetlights. Minutes later you then start questioning him. "How close were they? Did they start to take off your pants? You didn't tell me that they were freaky enough to sneak in with weapons! What, they don't want the sister of the guy they're recruiting to know?!" you say, exasperated.

Eiji breaks free from your grasp, stopping, "Onee-san, you must understand, they aren't bad people! You're just paranoid."

Explain away."

"They're my friends and I've been with them for a long enough time to know how they are. With the exception of Fujiwara and Otobe, Remini and Aeki are in the same boat as me, barely knowing anything with these sudden events. I know it sounds silly but they're like that since they have magical powers, and so do I. Sure, Aeki's cannon sticks out but if won't be used for any coercion-- scratch that, none of them will. We could fix it by letting them enter through the front door and introducing them to our parents, that can work if it can ease you."

"Magic?" you say, pretending to be dumb to the concept. "What are you on about?"

"It's...It's like this!" Eiji exclaimed, lifting a hand to you. Within his palm was a small fire, glowing steadily and maintaining its body. Your brother then extinguishes it, satisfied by demonstrating it to you. "Magic's like that...Is that enough for you to believe me?"

"...How long have you been with them without telling me?" you hesitantly ask, ignoring Eiji's previous action.

"Three or four months, ever since after summer break."

"All this time?..."

Eiji pauses, but tells you nontheless, "Yes."

For a while, you two just stand in the middle of the sidewalk, looking at each other. Your face has become saddened, almost about to give tears as you register Eiji's claim. "It has to be a lie, right? Four months and I didn't know about it? Four months of Eiji being with these girls? It's a lie, please, be...please," lamenting, your heart-rate picking up.

"Eiji, this gotta be a joke, right? I-It's funny, haha...It's a lie, right?" you say weakly.

"No, it isn't."

Not believing his words, you then start to take out your phone, about to dial the police to report the magical girl's crime of breaking in. Eiji, seeing this, takes the phone out of your hands.

"Eiji, no!"

"O-Onee-san, I'm sorry, but I can't let you," taking a few steps back. "Everything will turn back to normal if we go back home. We'll just sleep it off."

"Finally, an opening!" cries a voice. It was very familiar and otherworldly, muddled by your current distraction.

Turning around to see what it was, a pain pierces you in the chest, something invading your body like a virus. Afterwards, you fall to the ground, groping the site of the injury that's now bleeding. It was an unbearable sting, coursing your body with every intent to do harm. With no way to help yourself you yelp out, whimpering by Eiji's foot.

"Onee-san!" yells your brother, coming to pick you up. "Here, hang on to me."

"Ah, ah, ah~ Stop right there," the voice says, a figure of white slashing at Eiji.

Luckily, your brother manages to dodge the creature, and looking up, it was revealed to be Albilio.

"Easy as catching a sparrow I must say, kehahaha!" the white creature maniacally laughed. "Let's not make things messy, no?"

Eiji, produced a sizeable fireball that shot at Albilio, "Stay back from her!"

"Hmm?!" Albilio grunts in surprise, dodging his fireball narrowly, "That was a surprise! Almost got me with that speed!"

"Move any closer and I will go full force," Eiji, stepping in front of your currently injured body to protect you. "I don't know who you are but push will come to shove."

"That's okay, I don't need to. After all, I already did what I was ordered to," implying something hidden. "You see, my queen made a special concoction for you dear sister. Soon enough, she'll be in her grasp for the final piece."

"What are you saying?!" Eiji says in loud confusion.

He then tries to pick up from the ground again but the pain surged through your body again, prohibiting your movement. Looking down to your chest now, a creeping mark was developing at the injury.

"So this is what that dream meant..." you mumbled. "Eiji, run! Please, go!"

Your brother's eyes became wide, "But, why? No, I can't do that!"

"Eiji, just leave me, please," you beg. "Run!"

"Bu--"

"--NOW!!"

Eiji was in disbelief. He couldn't comprehend what you were saying, frozen in time as he looks into your eyes. With determination he closed them, an overbearing emotion shading him and wetness streaming down his cheeks. After all, he can't abandon his sister, who would do such a thing? But the back of his mind tells him to obey, as it's her will. Making a final decision, he slowly sets you down, going backwards from you.

"Good, smart choice, kid. You're sister is right so run along now, we'll deal with you at a later time," Albilio says the retreating boy.

Unable to stomach the sight of you, he turns, running back down the street with tears now streaming his face. He still haves your phone, forgetting the electronic device was in his hands as he's overtaken by grief. Chances are that he'll come back with the group of girls, and as much as you hate it being a reality, you're relying on it.

"N-Now that we're alone, explain yourself, lizard," you pipe out, trembling to the pain.

"Oh, yes, I'll very much so since we're alone. Well, for now. I presume that you already found out about your blood? My queen originally wanted you to be captured but saw an opportunity in making you a witch, in turn, making your properties more potent than a dragon's heart. She saw that you're weaker of the two, you're brother growing in experience while you just had come to this type of world. And now, you'll be the perfect vessel for Mordred."

Powering through whatever Albilio stuck into you, your form changes as you start shooting. Rapidly you fire one gun after another, the endless supply of ammo doing its favor. Caught off-guard, you manage to get a few shots in on Albilio before he lunges to the side. To combat your defense, the white creature threw three identical crystals to that of your necklace that he gave you. They started to shine, a warmness radiating from the one within your pocket.

You shoot the three crystals midair before the assumed their effect, but you didn't have time to dispose of the one in your pocket. It shatters, an electric shock coursing within you. You're basically a sitting-duck, unable to move because of the pain. Regardless, you keep on shooting back at Albilio, your index fingers getting numb by pulling down on the trigger too many times.

"Relentless are you? It matters not, I just have to wait until it kicks in," Albilio says, taking cover. "How about shooting something you can't see?"

As what he entailed, he turned invisible with the only clue to his location is his now audible footsteps. Ceasing fire, you wait for an opportunity to strike back, but you didn't think that Albilio will start punching you while invisible. Too make matters worse, the growing mark is starting at your shoulders and neck.

Shooting the pavement as much as you can you create a dust cloud around yourself. Your eyes itched on contact with the debris but it was a small price to pay; before firing your guns again you waited attentively again for Albilio, the cloud floating upwards that'll surely give away his position. And then movement-- a shift in the cloud on your right side. Compulsively, you aim your guns in that general direction, your blue bullets coming into contact with the invisible monster.

"Grah!" Albilio sounds, giving himself away more as he rushes out of the cloud. "Dammit, this is more trouble than it's worth."

A magic circle was created from under you, the same exact one that Albilio uses to travel. You could still see the dust on his reflecting body, his hands dirtied and touching the ground.

"S-Seven seconds!!!" you shout, time slowing down. The opportunity arising, you shoot with abandon, your shot flying smoothly through the air like a rewind

Five bullets, sixteen, twenty-two, thirty-one, all directed towards Albilio who was in a better shape than you, although wounded. The state ending, less then half of them hits him as he quickly shifts body to the side, the ones that did hit him implanting themselves into his white skin. The creature yelled in pain but still kept casting the magic circle, continuing the process.

"It's..hah...Over!" the lizard announced, the circle beginning to activate. "You put on a good show there but...gah...But it wasn't enough, kehehe..."

Desperate, you shuffle and crawl yourself to reach outside of the circles vivid borders. Every inch irritated the wounds and bruises, every breathe tiring you out. You were so close, just a few decimeters away, waiting for you to pull yourself out and come back to Eiji. Just one...More...

You collapse, out of energy. Albilio smiles his ghastly grin when he sees you in defeat. It's a mockery, your hand touch the last line of the sprawled drawing. Not wasting anymore time, Albilio finishes the incantation, the outside being covered by a curtain of white. The lizard, too, threw himself inside, resting as you are.

Your eyes become stricken with sorrow, your heart sinking. "Eiji...I'm sorry..." you mutter before you crash, total blackness taking over your consciousness.

"She was a nice girl, not really a stone-cold killer, and now she was stone-cold dead."
I'm going to have to assume there's going to be more to this quest, because being simply possessed by Mordred and personality wiped sounds like a quest ender to me.
And quite frankly none of the other characters sound interesting enough to play.

That's not necessarily true I think the other girls sounds super cute, especially the one who has a crush on her.

That being said I'm assuming will have either a short scene from another point of view playing as another character for a little while or we're going to be playing as our girl with bits and pieces if not all of mordred's personality attempting or having successfully partially overridden aspects of hers

I'm perfectly fine with being confused and I'm sure of who / what she is was and will be.
>>
>>2974429
*And unsure of who
>>
>>2974429
Partial possession is okay, as long as the primary gist of who we are remains.
Worst comes to worst I can just as easily see us playing our friend. Because she seems like the type of person who doesn't stop when she really feels like it. The other girls seem extremely typecast to the nth degree, and our brother is pretty much a limp noodle in terms of willpower. And possibly cleverness since the closest thing to a big thing was just not telling any of his family about the whole Merlin bloodline stuff. And he folded like a house of cards when we placed pressure on him in the right spots.

Twenty steps of stairs down and to the right.
Lock her inside for the future, keep her like an animal trapped within a cardboard box. Dripping ceilings and damp floors, give no blankets, keep her awake as long as she can possibly muster - as long as she can't recount an emotion. The cold will bite her body.
Check on her weekly, make sure she stays within that circle; make sure that the armor pieces are together with her along with the other items.

"where am I?..." you say to yourself, your mind as heavy as mud. "so...tired."

You pass out again, the immense strain in your body keeping you from staying up for long. Your hands and feet felt suspended, something metal holding you up.

Seal that opening, she'll have no use for the light that shines into here. The dark will accompany her, make her learn to see like the rats.
If she doesn't respond, beat her. If she still continues to do so, torture her. Either way, her blood or her body will compensate.
Hmm? You found out the three last pieces? Then get going then before they do.

"my body...pain. something is piercing me. my eye-- wait...I can't see through my left eye! I remember, they-- GUH!"

"She's speaking to herself for a while now. It's creepy."

"Who cares, do what the queen told you to do."

it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts.

Eiji...it hurts...

"Ah, she's crying."

"Did she break? It's only been a few days and a week."

"Bah, who cares. just keep going."

The voices that are almost unintelligible to you - mostly because of your ruined state - hints the time of the calendar. A few day and a week. Ten or twelve days since that incident with Albilio. Being the only thing that you can grasp, the only thing that can link you to the outside which was sealed from you now, you began counting the hours, the minutes, and each second. Fifty seconds, four minutes, thirty, an hour, three hours, ten...

You kept counting in your mind, the useless numbers in your head eventually being the only concept inside your mind. It gave you a sense of easiness knowing how long you've been in this hell, even if it's meticulous to carry out the practice.

"Ninety-one hours...thirty minutes and...seven seconds. Ninety, thirty, ten. Ninety, fifty-nine, sixty...Ninet--"

Another pain ran through you, getting you to focus on it more than your counting.

"..Ninety and...and...and..."

You forgot your place.

"No, no, no, help! Help!-- Kah!" you yelp, putting you back in your place. At this point, what's harming you is indistinguishable, it has all become the same. You cried again, losing your only link.

Twenty steps down and to the left, right across from her.
The same as Nawakubi, keep watch on her like you've done so.
One more piece left, so close to success.
What? What about she riots? Just give her the same treatment as her. Bind her mouth like a dog even if you're all scared.

"Nawa-san?..." says a familiar voice. "Hey! You okay?!-- Wait, you're body!"
>>
>>2974577
Oh hell, they got Oneko.
>>
>>2974577

The new voice was beyond you, who, can't even lift a single finger as of now. Your hands and feet are numb just like when you kept on pulling down the triggers of your gun, the cold doing its job.

"Nawa-san, wake up!" says the familiar voice, rattling something metal. "Dammit."

"Hey, stop that!" a monstrous voice told the other, the latter yelling out in pain.

This became routine. The voice across from you calling out to your cell until she gets punished. You wish you knew what was going on but you just can't.

Weeks gone by, but you don't know this and neither the person across from you. From outside, the snow's bitterness leaks through the stones' cracks, further adding to the low temperature of where you are. Again and again, the person spoke to you, and again and again, she got hurt in the process. Just by the raising voice of her screams were enough to tell you that her wounds are mounting.

Until one day, the person did something you didn't think possible up till now.

"Break the chains and set us free! Go! Escape the chateau d'lf! Faria's Will!"

Cries of pain soon flooded where you were. You heard your cell door open, someone carrying your body. Again, you heard the same chant, the breaking of stone letting in an even colder air. The crunching of snow soon came afterwards, who ever carrying you caring much about how to handle your weak body. The bindings the held your arms and legs are now broken, your limbs free to move. New air entered your lungs as you're about to revive.

Combination of both. We had knowledge that morgan had a high chance of betraying us; the problem was that said betrayal came incredibly soon. We also should have run away the moment we had the chance instead of fighting the lizard and deal with the fallout of us being a magical girl after the fight.
>>
>>2974739
If that's true then well played QM.

Though there has to be a way to get our love interest, there would be no point on playing a yandere otherwise.

it does though. We are a descendant of merlin, and unless we had no idea what that means(which is possible), morgan and merlin are not known for being friends. >>
>>2974785
we are a fuking yandere first, not a MG, what did you expect. We have no formal MG training. Our weakness was used against us. That weakness being our obsessive love that made us blind to the true threat. The fact that Enji was attacked should had tipped us off, but we failed to see that.

It wouldn't be my first choice either, but we are almost catatonic and the mark seems to be more a way to prepare us as a vessel so it likely will have spread.

We simply don't have the time to heal from trauma normally (if you can even really heal from so much trauma). The other alternative is to erase our memories, but that does nothing for the mark.
>>
>>2974969
>so it likely will have spread
we were stuck in somewhere god knows how long. The mark definitely has spread, specially since it covered 1/3 of our body when we were fighting the lizard. But like i said before, we shouldn't worry about it because it either covered our body completely, or dissipated(because i'm fairly certain it was just a paralyzing agent). What we have to worry about are the other things that were done to us and we have no way of knowing that until we get some good sleep and time to recover.
>>
>>2974965
I know. Just pointing out that going to a psychologist is also a bad idea that gets us locked in the looney bin.

Honestly the best cure for us is probably Eiji.
>>
>>2974985
It was just some torture and imprisonment, let's not make a big deal about it. And most of the time we were unconscious or half sleep.

"...Neko?" barely able to move your lips.

"Nawa-san, you're awake?!"

"Eiji...Is Eiji okay?"

"I don't know," looking behind herself while continuing to run through the forest. "The last time I saw him is when I got imprisoned and I still don't know what's going on. You went missing after a month or so, three weeks or around that range."

You didn't reply, staring back at Suzukawa with dead pan eyes. Her breathe was visible under the winter conditions probably because its November, the season changing drastically from the red autumn to freezing white. The catty girl was carrying you like a princess, traversing the numerous trees in the hopes of finding a way back to the city.

Her hair has grown a considerable amount, reaching down to her shoulders. It was a minor change, pale in comparison to the outfit she has on right now. Suzukawa was barely clothed, bits of armor covering her. It all narrowed down to a single fitted breastplate and leggings that shown her most of her thighs. On her limbs were graves and gloves that are designed like an animals claws; her hands was holding something else other than you, and, peeking behind her with some difficulty, was two spiky masses connected together by a chain. Suzukawa was dragging them behind her, contrasting the heavy weight of the two iron balls.

"Onek--"

"-- Shush, just rest a bit. I'll handle things from here," stopping you in mid-sentence. "I think I can hear cars somewhere in the distance."

She was right. Up through the treeline was the nearing shape of a skyscraper; uplifted, Suzukawa hurries towards the direction, becoming rougher with her handling of you. You spoke out of pain, requesting her to be careful to which she does so, taking you in mind again. The catty girl then hits something face first, something invisible. Putting a hand forward, a ripple was made, the air moving like displaced water. It was a barrier.

"Fuck, dammit!" Suzukawa, frustrated. She puts you down in the soft but biting snow, pulling the chains that were tied to the spiked balls on each end. And, with one swift motion, she started to swing the right sphere in a circle, building up force at a high pace. "Eeeraaah!" she shouted, throwing the dense, puncturing mass towards the transparent wall.

Materializing katyusha in your free hand, the other holding you up, you shoot the barrier as well along with Suzukawa. It cracks, but not enough to break a hole through it. Still, you both work together to accomplish an escape, the damage of the magical wall getting bigger and bigger with each slam from your friend's weapon and each bullet from yours.

"It's...It's nothing. I'm fine. Go back to breaking that barrier."

Suzukawa gave another face of concern before returning to her position, trying to break the barrier by herself.

Standing watch, you focus your remaining eye to any movement, be it the shuffling of leaves or snow. In anticipation, your body warms to a degree that's old but new, perspiration on your forehead. You don't mind the snow, you don't mind how ragged your clothes are, you just watch and look while listening to the banging of Suzukawa.

Your trance was then shattered by the overwhelming sound of the magical barrier breaking, Suzukawa exclaiming in success. Coming back to you, she picks you back up into your arm with her weapon hanging on her, going through the made passage to freedom.

"Yes, yes, yes! Haha! We're out!" Suzukawa says in glee. "Now for a place to stay, you're cold as steel right now."

We might need to, but there's no point assuming that sort of thing until we confirm it - otherwise we might just be putting out one of our eyes for no reason.

Might as well consider that when Morgan seemed to unlock our magical powers, she might have laid a compulsion on us that forces us to unknowingly do her bidding, or that Albilio might have stabbed us with an injection of nanomachines that will kill us if activated. There's no point blindly speculating such things if we can't confirm them.

It's also not particularly in-character to be considering such things right now. Our foremost thought right now is probably: 'Is Eiji safe?'

Suzukawa went forward in a straight line, the forest tree getting smaller in size as you near the city. You only have each other to accompany the both of you, not saying a word however because of the rush of your escape. Who knows, monsters may be already on the loose to find you two, you don't know what they'll look but the thought is unnerving.

"Oh..." you simply say, the mood getting more forlorn. Suzukawa couldn't tell you anything to cheer up the air like she used to do, her brow lowering in sadness. She sighs, focusing her mind back to navigating the current environment.

It was an odd time during your trek, well, to be more specific, Suzukawa's trek. The nature that surrounds you was undisturbed, tranquil, animals of all shapes passing both of you. Of course there was the occasional junk that you seen everyday in the past, things that might've been lost or intentionally thrown away in the forest. But the snow fixes the ugly notion of human pollution and covers all of the unused cars and metal junk with snow, masking them like paint.

The sound of honking horns and humming engines now was a moments away. You should be hitting a road soon if not a park or something. Just like your friend says, you need to get out of the cold before it'll take a toll on your body.

"I look weird, huh?" Suzukawa inquires, reminding you about her outfit. "It just popped out of nowhere."

You misunderstand my intention - while it's obvious that we're a magical girl like she is, phrasing the statement in any way that suggests that we have preexisting knowledge of them or that we have been one for a significant period prior to her awakening will raise awkward questions that we really have no time or desire to answer. Easier to just let her assume that we awakened like she did, after getting tortured in that dungeon, and have little knowledge of the specifics of our abilities like she does, at least for now.

"Ugly? Horrid? Disgusting? Nauseating?" you fill in her words, giving her synonyms that describe your sad state. "You don't need to soften things, I can tell that these wounds are permanent...I just wonder if Eiji can recognize me anymore."

Raising your palm, you inspect the scars that start from your hand to past your arm, scouring your once unharmed skin. You're now paler than usual, the time within that cell causing you to look like a vampire; dark bags under your eyes that still shown the past glory of their emerald color, and your hair, dirtied by both blood and dirt. Your attire was the same clothes that you wore on that night, now ripped due to many different instruments and blades. You could change into your magical form but the thought is tiring enough.

Suzukawa pulls your hand down, "Don't think about it, won't do you any good. Sure, you look different from back then but you're still 'Nawakubi Hanano'."

Now Château d'If on the otherhand is a reference from the novel The Count of Monte Cristo, as the prison island where the main protagonist Dantes and his mentor were imprisoned for 14 years before Dantes makes his escape.

For those who don't feel like reading the novel, there's Gankutsuou.

>>
>>2975931
Edmond Dantes is a fictional character. In the novel he kind of goes off into the the sunset with Haydee but the relationship is chaste.

The inspiration for real life Dantes didn't have children I think. He failed in his revenge too.
>>
>>2975935
don't give it too much thought on that aspect. remember that merlin and king arthur probably didn't exist as well.
>>
>>2975935
Arthur and Merlin apparently have Japanese great great great great great great grandchildren.

Whether or not they were ever real and whether or not Dantes is real shouldn't be too much on the table.
>>
>>2975929
Well... That's also a good point. Then again it seems as though supposedly fictional people are actually real and got around in the bedroom enough times to spread their genes amongst a fuck ton of ethnicities (no pun intended).
>>2975935
And supposedly Merlin died without getting any in one tale and King Arthur only had one kid named Mordred.
Though now that I think about it, that one Magical Girl really shouldn't spout off about how she's related to Arthur since the whole Mordred thing is a big deal in this magical world.

>>
>>2975945
Arthurian legend is a mess.

Mordred is sometimes his bastard son with his half-sister Morgause; sometimes he's just his nephew, fathered by Morgause's actual husband King Lot.

Morgan le Fay is sometimes villainous, sometimes not. Generally, she reconciles with Arthur if necessary and takes him into Avalon after he's mortally wounded by Mordred at Camlann.

And don't even get started on his damn sword.

We can't really assume anything as far as what myths are accurate here.

"No problem. After all, we're friends!"

"Yeah."

In due time you both finally return to the city. You exit the forest and into the edge of a park that was, too, blanketed in snow. The conversation absorbed you so much that forgot it was winter. The small lake was frozen, a few birds roosting on top of the ice. Down the street was a convenience store, its neon lights on as it was mid afternoon. Pointing out an abandoned building that was also within the park's boundaries, Suzukawa then scouts out for any passersby. Apparently you found yourselves in a place near downtown, a moderate amount of people walking down the sidewalk. In general, the outskirts Tokyo isn't the best place to be right now, your neighborhood being a ways far.

"Now that I think about it, we can get food," Suzukawa says, hiding behind the thicket along with you still in her arms.

"But we don't have money."

"We can always steal. These new powers are pretty nifty; don't you have the same as well?"

"Yes, but I'm weak at the moment."

Break open one of those drink machines quietly. There's always coins in them. We'll use the cash to buy stuff like normal people.

When traveling in Japan, you may be surprised by the large number of vending machines. This is no small wonder, considering that there are currently about 5.52 million vending machines nationwide. The penetration rate in ratio to Japan's total land area is top in the world.

Seriously, crime in japan is stupidly low. We'll be doing some utterly unique.

You suggest another plan than Suzukawa's own. "How about breaking open those vending machines?" pointing to said object, "It must have a lot of money and you could even steal a few of its contents."

"Hmm, didn't think about that," remarked the tomboy. "Sure! I could take it a go."

Suzukawa puts you down on the ground, pushing past the bushes and into the park grounds. Keep in mind that she's still in her costume that is very exposing- though herself not minding it- and dragging along two giant wrecking balls laden with spikes. Twice did she look around the are before she enacted the shortly thought plan, deeming that it's all clear.

Going behind a pair of vending machines that stood next to a couple benches, she punches the box from behind. Money spilled out, coins falling with a metallic clack and bills falling like feathers. Suzukawa quickly gathered it all in a flash, piling the currency into her arms. She then goes to the front of the mechanical box, punching in the glass with her free left hand and taking two drinks.

"Back! It was a lot easier than I expected," she says, handing you a drink. She then drops the money on the ground, counting it, "It's about...Er?"

"Fifty dollars-ish, excluding the coins-- No, seventy," you say, cracking open the can and drinking in the sweet drink. It has been a long time since you've drank soda, a luxury from your point of view.

Suzukawa's costume then changes back into her old clothes. Hers wasn't as ripped as yours but was equally worse for wear, "That's better. Wished I done that before." Her weapons also disappear, the gigantic mass now gone with the wind. "Hey, want me to buy some normal clothes from the store? We kinda need it, especially you."

Leaving you once again, you watch her approach the store across the street, the doors sliding open for her. Alone, you were forced to wait, sipping on the cola until it was empty. You chucked the can behind the bushes knowing that you may collapse if you try to bring it to a trashcan, accepting that you're weak as a kid. It's a depressing reality but you have to bear with it. "Of course," Suzukawa agreed, beginning to tie the patch around your head, "There, done~!"

"It's cute, definitely a different look than before."

"Yup! Really! Now let's get changed before we die in the cold," Suzukawa joked.

Heeding her words, you both change out of your damaged clothes, the cheapness of the new ones' fabric just able to keep you warm. In the middle of the sidewalk you grab Suzukawa's attention, tugging at her sleeve. She stops in place, addressing your need with readiness.

"I-I think I can walk on my own now," you tell her, wanting to get down.

"You sure? Those legs of yours doesn't look too good."

"It'll be okay. Just let me lean on you during the way," you assure, "You can always help me up too."

Suzukawa, not wanting to upset you, sets your legs down onto the pavement. She helps you retain stature as you grip around her build, the lower-half of your body quivering until is subsides after a few minutes. Through weeks of being suspended by the limbs your legs felt like jelly, your ankles aching already. You come to terms with the discomfort, walking on with the catty tomboy supporting you as you went in deeper into the city.

Strolling down a few blocks and crossing streets with the guide of Suzukawa, you both spot a love hotel built in a corner with a giant sign facing for all cars to see. Entering inside, the vividly purple color of the lobby room welcomed you in in, checking out a room at the front desk and paying with cash. The receptionist present at the desk hands the keys to Suzukawa who lied about your ages and the reasons you're here. Following after, she leads you to the elevator, pressing the checked out room's designated floor on number five.

"A couple's honeymoon? Quite a cheesy lie if you ask me. I hope you aren't planning to drink since you lied about our ages," you remarked while in the elevator.

"Eh, I wouldn't, not planning to touch that stuff until I hit twenty or so. And besides, could you have make a better lie?"

You grunt, "Hmph, well then. Who's the bride or the groom?"

"Wouldn't the groom be me? Kinda makes sense."

"Way to damper it."

"I didn't say anything of the sort to make it so, I won't mind a bride like you," Suzukawa says courageously, or maybe because she's just stupid.

"Everyone wants a bride like me," you say confidently. "Well, use to if they seem me how I look now. I'm practically a vampire."

"I like how you look, the eye bags and all," voicing her opinion on your appearance. "It gives an unique quality other than your body, Nawa."

With nothing else to say back at her, you give up on the conversation and wait until the elevator's doors open. It dinged, sliding into the walls beside it and letting you pass through. Suzukawa read the room numbers along with the key that had a card with the same number as your room. Ten doors down on the left side, was your given stay, and inside was all the accommodation two loving couples need. On your way in, Suzukawa then locks the door, hopping on the only bed in the room that's bigger than any bed you've seen. The bathroom was to the right, a tv in the front of the room, and a drawer with a pack of condoms next to the lamp. Your friend turns on the tv herself, a drama showing on the screen.

I don't know what you guys think, but I've always seen Oneko as her own faction. But she doesn't so much hate everyone rather than care only about Eiji. Her feelings for anyone and everyone else pale in magnitude when compared to that all-consuming love.

And I'm not sure she has the emotional capacity for hate now - and even so, regardless of what happened to her and who the blame falls onto, she wouldn't really properly hate anyone unless they brought harm to Eiji.
>>
>>2976657
I can understand that, Oneko loves Eiji the same way a Patriot loves their country. And is willing to kill anyone that preys upon him or is a threat to him.

You request Suzukawa to change the tv into the news channel. She obliges, pressing down on the remote and reaching it after scrolling down the programs. The current news was expected: scandals about politicians that may as well be told at a campfire, new buildings and power structures being built, etc. But under the bleak and ordinary announcements made by the woman from the other side of the broadcast, a topic began to be discussed after all the uninteresting things have been went through.

"We would like to talk about the recent discovery of the body of Kisono Eri that was found last week. The autopsy has been done and has concluded that the girl died from strangulation: this was shown by the heavy bruise marks around her neck, possibly from the hands of another girl. As to who the culprit is, we don't know. There were many failed attempts in checking the hand marks as the prints didn't have any pattern.

Leaning on the wall, you excuse yourself to the bathroom, leaving Oneko to wait for her turn to wash. With less amount of struggle than this afternoon, you begin to regain your strength but only at a little at a time. Turning on the warm water, you sit on the sides of the tub while it fills up, turning it back off and joining inside as you indulge within the long time feeling of cleanliness. The bathroom now having a shower, you had to clean your body inside the tub, using the small containers of shampoo and bodywash offered by the hotel.

The mark that Albilio had given you has changed very much so after a month. Instead of some sort of infection, it was a huge magic circle that was now drawn on your chest, all the way down to your waist. Stroking the features of the circle gave off a scarred feel, like someone has burnt this sigil on you. You take your mind off of it to finish your bath, getting out the same way you did getting in.

Notifying that the bathroom's free, Suzukawa leaves you in turn to take her bath. You set yourself on the huge bed, towels wrapped around you; the clothes bought by Suzukawa was neatly folded on a chair at the side of the bed.

Soon after, the catty girl comes out with the steam rolling at her feet. She too was wearing nothing but a towel, putting her clothes on top of yours. Suzukawa takes her place beside you on the bed, watching the tv blankly.

"So you did you check that thing on you?" pointing at the portion of the sigil on your chest. "It looks awfully painful."

A wave of shame came over you once Suzukawa mentioned the magic circle. It was weird, embarrassing, making you want to crawl somewhere else so no one can see upon you.

Too intelligent to just not think about it; too shell-shocked to just start dealing with it now. Procrastination it is!

>There were many failed attempts in checking the hand marks as the prints didn't have any pattern.
>heavy bruise marks around her neck, possibly from the hands of another girl.
I'm confused how they would have drawn this conclusion if the marks didn't have any distinct identifying features. I mean, I get that it adds dramatic tension from a meta perspective, but in-universe it just sounds like the anchors are jumping to conclusions.
>>
>>2976838
"Why are we still here? Just to suffer?"
Pretty much. We have not exactly achieved much in this quest besides getting tortured and there was no way we could have prevented that with one day training. Considering that literally everybody besides us is not crippled and has more experience than one day, I don't think we will achieve anything in the future besides being the damsel in distress.

Or instead of hoping to conveniently stumble upon a replacement eye we just use healing magic.
>>
>>2976855
It's really the same situation that you often see in magical girl and shounen series: problems which could easily be solved by some of the parties involved sitting down and talking things through are instead compounded and exacerbated because of their unwillingness or inability to properly communicate.

Not that I'm advocating we go to the WMA and spill our guts. That sort of behavior - putting trust in others to resolve problems for her and (more importantly) Eiji - would run counter to her established character.

By her nature, she will most often take actions which will make her own situation worse (and willingly so, because she values Eiji's well-being far above her own). This is one of the reasons why I find her narrative compelling.
>>
>>2976863
That really doesn't change that we were basically set up for failure from the start with no way to actually achieve anything in sight.

And really getting attacked by Morgana literally one fucking day after being recruited by her doesn't make a lot of sense and has exactly zero to do with our or Hanano's decisions.
>>
>>2976871
>And really getting attacked by Morgana literally one fucking day after being recruited by her doesn't make a lot of sense and has exactly zero to do with our or Hanano's decisions.
Yeah. To my mind, Hanano never trusted Morgan. Hell, my initial votes when Morgan was laying out her proposal were basically "How do I know you aren't completely bullshitting me, or intending on fucking me over once I've done your dirty work"?

As far as I would have voted, Hanano would have tried to play both sides or straight up backstab Morgan at some point. She just expected she would have some time, like at least a week, to build herself up in terms of skill and resources before having to anticipate Morgan potentially betraying her.

Who the fuck coerces someone into doing their dirty work, then betrays them a day after, before they've had any chance to do their dirty work? May as well have just imprisoned us right when we were brought there the first time.
>>
>>2976879
>Who the fuck coerces someone into doing their dirty work, then betrays them a day after, before they've had any chance to do their dirty work? May as well have just imprisoned us right when we were brought there the first time.
And exactly that is my problem. If this happened in the prologue or was the background of the character, I would have no problem. The same if we actually had time to achieve anything. But since this makes zero sense for Morgana to do it feels like the QM wanted to railroad us into a torture scene just to be edgy. And that you would normally expect some kind of ritual to resurrect someone and not just torture does nothing to dissuade that impression.
>>
>>2976892
>>2976879
Sounds like we're going to have to see if we can even train up enough to tell if it was just the dice fucking everyone over or if it was the QM going beyond full retard on that front.
>>
>>2976892
In my opinion the betrayal was really smart. We weren't expecting it and it made perfect sense since we were already asking questions that might have compromised our allegiance with morgan I feel it definitely was something we couldn't have avoided given who we are, but i wouldn't call it a railroad since we didn't instantly lose the fight. It was the dice that fucked us over.
>>
>>2976901
The fact that the dice rolled poorly shouldn't have entered into it, because Albilio attacking at that point was completely out of left field anyway.

Unless something was happening behind the scenes that we aren't aware of that caused the situation to change drastically, there's really no reason for Morgan to try to capture Hanano when Hanano was explicitly and willingly acting as her agent and would have continued to do her bidding if she hadn't forced an arbitrary change in the situation?

Why capture Hanano when she willingly allowed herself to be brought in the day before? Why brazenly stab her with that weird magic-circle-poison thing when she could easily have bluffed it as part of the ritual to awaken Hanano's potential and not tipped her off that it's something she shoudl be worried about?

The only catalyst I can imagine for this to happen is that us telling Albilio about the secrecy seal gave her such an overwhelming advantage that she no longer needed our help to eliminate the girls, and simply taking everyone (including us) out herself would vastly accelerate her timeline. Which means that Eiji is probably already screwed.

The alternative is that none of this is part of Morgan's plan, and Albilio has been working behind his Queen's back for reasons unknown.
>>
>>2976910
>we were already asking questions that might have compromised our allegiance with morgan
What questions were these? Genuinely curious; I don't recall us ever saying anything to Albilio or Morgan that indicated an intent to betray them. General wariness and distrust, sure - that much is natural given the circumstances - but nothing to actually suggest that we intended to swap allegiances on them.
>>
>>2976912
>The only catalyst I can imagine for this to happen is that us telling Albilio about the secrecy seal gave her such an overwhelming advantage that she no longer needed our help to eliminate the girls, and simply taking everyone (including us) out herself would vastly accelerate her timeline. Doesn't make sense either. First it would need Morgana to be ignorant of secrecy seals or dumb enough not to figure it out herself and second we are planned as the vessel of Mordred a pretty central part of her plan to resurrect him. Risking us in fights against the girls would be pretty stupid.
>>
>>2976918
we were asking why the fuck the lizards were attacking our brother. That plus the information that the WMA was using a secrecy veil and knowing that we were also a descendant of merlin might have given Morgana enough reasons to consider us disposable.
>>
I don't see the logic behind the betrayal at all. I guess we'll have to wait and see because there's so many questions
>>
>>2976919
>Morgana to be ignorant of secrecy seals or dumb enough not to figure it out herself
But what if the secrecy seal isn't a whole family of spells, but a very specific one? At least that's how alibio made it sound like.
>>
>>2976930
As in it was that MG's special power?
>>
This is a lot speculation but I think this may explain why the betrayal happened so quickly. As has been pointed we were betrayed very quickly. And this
>>2976863
>It's really the same situation that you often see in magical girl and shounen series: problems which could easily be solved by some of the parties involved sitting down and talking things through are instead compounded and exacerbated because of their unwillingness or inability to properly communicate.
should definitely be kept in mind. Most likely the original plan was for us to be given MG powers, go crazy and attack the MG squad as soon as we could. Chances are Albilio was right over our shoulder when we were listening in on the conversation they were having during lunch. Now while the conversation didn't give that much information the fact that we didn't kick the door open and start shooting was worrying for Morgan
>She saw that you're weaker of the two, you're brother growing in experience while you just had come to this type of world. And now, you'll be the perfect vessel for Mordred.
Villains can never be happy to just settle for "good enough" so I think the catalyst for the betrayal was that if we kept listening to the conversations Eiji and the MG squad were having in private it would eventually reveal that Morgan wants Eiji to become Mordred's vessel. "Weaker of the two" meaning weaker of the two vessel candidates. And if we found out something like that we probably would have helped the MG squad kill Morgan first and then kill the squad after.

Going back to the original plan Morgan had for us it was probably
>Attack the MG squad
>Get wrecked
>Get rejected by Eiji
>Become a broken shadow of our former self
>Albilio swoops in and takes us for preparation to become a vessel
Even then we would probably just be a back up vessel. Probably the plan was to have our Mordred possessed self carted out in front of Eiji during the dramatic final confrontation and then Eiji would be told "I'll free your sister if you become Mordred's vessel." I think as a vessel we're just a backup/contingency plan

This plan also explains why we got betrayed before even killing at least one enemy MG. A possible explanation is that if we actually killed one or more members of the MG squad it would have been very disastrous for Morgan. The MG squad probably told the rest of the WMA to fuck off because they can handle it. However if they suffer casualties chances are someone in the WMA would say "nah fuck that" and send in reinforcements. Instead of just an idiot harem MC and some thirsty hos to contend with, suddenly Morgan would have to contend with a magical army scouring the entire area for artifacts of Mordred and killing her minions.

TL;DR We were supposed to fail immediately and become a vessel but we were at risk of either becoming an ally in the fight against Morgan and/or make things much much harder for her to work towards her goal

>>
>>2976974
It does leave the question of how potentially corrupt the WMA is if 5 dipshits with high pedigree are allowed to be on their own highly risky mission without backup or a damn handler. I mean of all the organizations, the last one you need swamped with nepotism is fucking magic involved regardless of how powerful you may be in magic.

>>

Hell, considering the situation and how dangerous it is, they might've wanted to think about outsourcing the tracking somehow, at the very least. Keep the organization separated from realization by Morgan by as many degrees as possible.
>>
>>2976959
So her entire plan depended on us being retarded enough to attack the MGs head on and get wrecked when Albilio knew that we kept our activities secret for years and literally saw us being pretty methodical in murdering a girl and disposing of the body?

In general if your plan depends on the victim being stupid it's not a good plan.

Your entire speculation also depends completely on the fact that you can justtreat mordreds soul like some kind of "plug and play" device. Which I find very questionable.
>>
>>2977039
There's a lot of shit that's found to be very questionable. Considering that a couple others and I expected the process to overwrite the QMC's original personality or some parts of it and yet we seem to be very much ourselves so far. And from what was mentioned in the quest, Mordred's soul is more or less a plug and play device of mass destruction from the sound of things, especially since to supposedly bring him back you need all the pieces of the armor and a spare meatsack to stick them onto.
>>
>>2977039
>In general if your plan depends on the victim being stupid
To be fair, it WAS good plan because before we took over hanano, we were another run of the mill yandere that would be very susceptible to the tactics Morgan tried to use.
>>
>>2977039
>In general if your plan depends on the victim being stupid it's not a good plan.
I would say that a great number of con jobs and scams rely manipulating the victim through some means or other to act in a way which could be considered 'stupid'. By appealing to greed ('If you deposit a sum of money into my bank account, I will reimburse you manyfold.') or emotion ('Your son has been hospitalized, and we require payment for his medical fees') or so forth, scammers compel or pressure ordinarily-rational individuals to act in ways that are against their interest.

In this case, Morgan's leverage over us was clear, and yet also one which we couldn't deny: Eiji. She'd also just seen us murder a girl for being a threat to Eiji. Though she couldn't predict our exact course of action, she could reliably assume that we would be distrustful of Eiji's new friends, and would come into conflict with them at some point - which we did.

Admittedly, she couldn't have predicted how the conflict would be resolved, because Hanano is fucking insane.
>>
>>2977060
Not really, Hanano managed to keep her activities secret for years, otherwise she would already be in the looney bin. Just that alone means she needs to be pretty skilled and able to plan her actions.
>>
>>2977060
That's not a good argument, though. The fact that we 'took over' Hanano isn't of any significance within the narrative, because Hanano's characterization is retroactively fleshed out by our decisions.

There is no catalyst within the story to indicate that the point at which we began playing Hanano would be a change in behavior; because we play her in a certain manner, Hanano must necessarily always have been this way.
>>
>>2977063
Con jobs and scams rely more on the fact that they don't cost you much if anything and simple quantity.

For the example of the bank deposit. If you do nothing the scammer has lost nothing and if you do he has made a lot of money. The only "cost" is the time and money to write the email which is normally automated, so basically free.

In short the example you made is non-applicable in this situation.
>>
>>2977069
The reason i think we took over hanano and retroactively partially overwrote her personality are because of the text prompts OP gives us. Those tend to be the closest ones to the "base" hanano she originally was, which -as you can see- are pretty yandere in nature. When we took over, we basically disregarded her most yandere attributes and replaced them for cold and logical ones. That's why morgan couldn't puppet us as well as she had liked and we didn't even try to rape our brother on the bath tub.
>>
>>2977080
They have to rely on quantity because the scammer has no guarantee that the mark will fall for it. Perhaps they don't have a son, perhaps they don't care that much for easy money, perhaps they've heard this one before.

Having watched us for what was presumably a long period of time, Morgan could be certain that we would react to an implied threat to Eiji. She more or less knew in advance how to compel us to be stupid.
>>
>>2977083
>When we took over, we basically disregarded her most yandere attributes and replaced them for cold and logical ones.
I don't see this to be the case. Just because we didn't play a stereotypical ax-crazy yandere doesn't mean we aren't just as obsessive over the target of our affections.

Yanderes can be cold and calculating just as much as they can be hysterical and impulsive. Throughout our time playing her, we've shown Hanano to be both at times - impulsive when Eiji is directly threatened or when dealing directly with him, and calculating when more indirectly concerned with his well being.

But throughout, we've always kept Eiji as her primary concern; even when suffering a mental breakdown, she keeps coming back to 'how to I protect Eiji'.

As far as I can see, the way we've played Hanano is absolutely a valid extension of the initial material we were given to work with.

>we didn't even try to rape our brother on the bath tub.
are you fucking serious here
>>
>>2976828
> "Torture is awfully painful..."

>>2976849
It could be Morgan fucking with us, it could be us having some sort of psychosis and imputing other words, we may become an unreliable narrator.
>>
>>2976849
Probably the size of the hands, it can also be that the authorities already suspect that another girl killed her because of reasons undisclosed to the public and want to put pressure on the criminal.
>>
>>2977083
Hanano kept her craziness secret for years. That alone should tell you that she isn't the kind to fly off the handle and attack other girls head on.

And that alone should have told Morgan that relying on Hanano to attack the girls head on wouldn't work.
>>
>>2977039
we can be pretty retarded though. Plus this isnt one girl just flirting with our brother, but 3 of them planning to have his babies. honestly its surprising our yandere didnt go full throttle
>>
>>2977138
I count as us barging into his room the night we got kidnapped as us trying to pull a controlled 10% throttle. We just get quiet when the throttle gets really going.
>>
>>2977138
Hanano's obsessive tendencies aren't, or at least haven't yet been, motivated in terms of 'I need to make Eiji love me and me alone' or 'No one other than me can love Eiji'. That isn't the type of love she has for him. As we've played her, her primary motivation has been 'How do I keep Eiji safe?'

So insofar as flirting with our brother is concerned, she isn't likely to take direct action. She takes action when someone is a potential threat to his well being.

Just like barging into his room when magical girls who intend to drag him into their own battles, or yelling at Eiji to run when faced with an enemy who honestly the two of them might have a chance at taking down if they worked together.

She doesn't consider extraneous things in these situations. Her obsession with Eiji's safety overrides everything, and she acts immediately and impulsively in the way she believes will best ensure it.
>>
>>2977156
>Hanano's obsessive tendencies aren't, or at least haven't yet been, motivated in terms of 'I need to make Eiji love me and me alone' or 'No one other than me can love Eiji'.
Except that is the first thing we learn about her. Its even in the first post of the quest.

>>2956871
>>
>>2977161
I fail to see which part of that post indicates that to necessarily be the case.

Hanano later even says: "Sorry, Eri, we could've been friends. You just accidentally showed me how dangerous you are to Eiji."

The murder can and, in the context of Hanano's later actions, probably should be rationalized as being motivated by a concern for Eiji's well being.
>>

>>

Maybe (although I don't see it), but as anon's saying, we've quickly since kinda overrode that part over her personality in voting, and we consistently vote in a way that's less about 'he's mine and only mine forever and ever' and more about 'He's mine because I trust literally no one else to do right by him.' Granted, the QM tends to write things out a touch differently (or wants to, judging by the options often given), but the playerbase has so far been astonishingly consistent about it.

>You are Nawakubi Hanano, and you have killed your fellow peer out of sick love for your brother who's ignorant of your actions.
That does not remotely mean that we killed her out of jealousy or anything of the sort. Only that our love for him drove us to kill her.

Which is perfectly in line with killing her out of a desire to keep Eiji safe.
>>
>>2977187
look mate we might be the ones making the choices, but theres been plenty of times where hanano wanted to jump enjis bones, but we played it smart. During the shower scene the QMd gave us a lot of chances to pick ‘rape enji’ as our next move. In a way you can argue that those unchosen choices were thoughts going through hananos heads, and we are the one deciding the course of action.

stop trying to twist it mate, keeping him safe is not for the sake of just keeping him safe, but keeping him safe for US. We can’t have him otherwise.

That seems meta to the point of unreasonableness, and unless OP states this to be so, I doubt it's the case.

Choices in quests are generally suggestions from the QM that 'I could see you having the MC do this' - with exceptions for quests where you explicitly play voices in a character's head. Otherwise what's the reasoning behind the write-in option?

And the fact that we explicitly rejected those other choices also has implications on Hanano's characterization. As I said, she's characterized retroactively by our decisions.

>>2977197
Alright, I can't deny this one. The only thing I might say is that it was from a fairly early post, where Hanano's character was not yet as fleshed out in complexity and we were still going largely off the standard yandere tropes.

>Meanwhile on Hanano's brain one tiny idea sparks in her mind but suddenly gets snuffed out.

Recontact our family and maybe join the WMA for protection? right now it seems like our best option. We might hate the MG team that is trying to fuck our brother, but as an organization, they seem like our best choice at the moment.
>>
>>2977208
Recover our strength. Decide whether or not to reveal to our friends and family that we're still alive.

Find out what's happened to Eiji. Get extremely fucking mad if Morgan or the WMA have put him in danger.

Break down and apologize profusely when we realize we caused Eiji distress by getting captured.

Depending on Eiji's situation at that point, see what the best way of keeping him safe is from there.
>>
>>2977218
I'd say change the whole protection thing for the "get this fucking wierd ass magic that's supposed to make me into a Mordred meatpuppet out of me" thing. Also recuperate some more from the torture and soon afterwards get as much combat training in as we can so we can murder magical creatures with little difficulty on our own. Because it was very obvious that outside of that shit roll, we had the Lizardcunt on the ropes.
Other than that it's a good start.

>I could see the MC doing this
FTFY
The point of the write-in is write-in something the MC would do

If you have a MC thats a super duper good guy who wants to save the maidens and not kill anyone, you can’t just turn him around and be like ‘*teleports behind you* nothing personell kid, unsheathes katana.” There would have to be a major event that would cause this guy to suddenly become a killer.
>>
>>2977243
>The point of the write-in is write-in something the MC would do
That's exactly it. The point of write-ins is to write-in things that the players could see the MC doing that the QM hasn't thought of yet. Whereas the given options are suggestions from the QM of things that the players could vote for players to do.

In most quests where write-ins are permitted, the default options from the QM cannot be a list of the dominant thoughts in the MC's head, precisely because write-ins exist, and so the MC's decision-making process when a vote is being held is controlled far more by the players than the QM. Even in voice-in-the-MC's-head-style quests, the list of thoughts echoing around the their head is usually defined by the votes that are cast rather than the original set of choices given.

>If you have a MC thats a super duper good guy who wants to save the maidens and not kill anyone, you can’t just turn him around and be like ‘*teleports behind you* nothing personell kid, unsheathes katana.” There would have to be a major event that would cause this guy to suddenly become a killer.
I largely agree with you on this. It's the responsibilities of both players and the QM to keep choices in line with existing characterization; but that's an entirely different point from what I was trying to make, and not a discussion I think we should really have right now.
>>
>>2977260
>Whereas the given options are suggestions from the QM of things that the players could vote for players to do.
but thats the thing. This isn’t a fresh character quest. Hanano is established to a certain degree. Shes a yandere, and her obsession is her brother. She isn’t a completely blank slate.
as such, these are not merely suggestions, but things that the MC would do/say given the chance. of course there are choices that are not actually choices but options, for example when we had a option of how we looked, or what Neko said to the love hotel clerk, or what our MG outfit is, but the choices of what Hanano says/does, are things that Hanano could and would say/do given the chance. Many thoughts can go through a persons head in a short span of time, and its safe to say that these are are viable options she thought of. for example:
>>2976328
> Silently take it and put it on
> "Eiji liked a female anime character with an eyepatch. Hope it'll make me look as good."
> "Thank you, again."
reasonably speaking, the MC could had to say either of these things, or even to stay in silence. When she saw the eyepatch the first thing she could had thought of is how one of her cosplay outfits for enji has a eyepatch, or maybe she decided to just be thankful, or maybe her sadness at losing her eye is just too much, keeping her silent.
>>2974204
> "Please, trust me, trust your onee-san like you always do. They're just using you!"
> "Onee-san loves you, I love you, don't make this hard on both of us."
> "Y-You're choosing them?"
another good example, its obvious that from the shock enji defying hanano and hanging around these girls in secret could cause these thoughts to run rampant in her head, we merely chose which one to voice.
>>2973753
> Immediately go into Eiji's room
> Continue to listen
one final example, at this point we have been agitated by these girls existence, and now we learned that not only is enji keeping them secret from us, but they have the audacity to sneak into our house and more importantly enji’s room?! at this point hanano could had continued to listen if she kept a cool head but you can argue that all her anger finally boiled over.

tl;dr- the suggestions are more then just that, but actions the MC would think of doing herself. All we are doing is deciding which one to take. This also applys to the write-in since the write-in has to be something Hanano would actually do.
>>
i still can't get over the fact that around 11/12 of this whole thread are us discussing the world and hanano's actions.

Welp, OP's back. I was in the middle of typing out a long-ass post, but I'll cut it short so we can continue with the actual story, which is infinitely more important than this debate. So I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree on this.

Summarily, I think my main point of disagreement with you here is that I only view the default options as things which the MC /could/ do, rather than things which the MC /would/ do. Whereas you consider all of the default choices as options which the MC is actively considering at the time, I would argue any default options that are not chosen must as such necessarily be disregarded for not being part of the MC's characterization.

I hope I understand at least that much of your position, even if I still respectfully disagree with it.
