This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty (thirty one) year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have fifteen minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls were once used to determine success or failure. But, due to the rather unpredictable nature of the dice essentially making it irrelevant whether or not you made smart decisions, were fighting outside your weight class, etc, we're going to do away with those, at least for the time being.

This quest sometimes uses music, and this website is not good with embed videos from youtube. So, it may be that you want to open youtube links in a new tab so they start at the right part.

I hope everyone has fun.

There are two of you, and two of him. Two Tofoos, two Jackies. Doubling yourself gave you the edge temporarily, but the old man performing the same trick has caused that advantage to be lost. Now, you once again are fighting to keep yourself from being overwhelmed, struggling against the mysterious former champion of the World Martial Arts Tournament. Without an out-of-bounds rule allowing you to score a cheap victory by teleporting him away, you're not having much luck in winning this battle. He nearly put you to sleep a moment ago, but you and your doppelganger are wide awake and ready to keep fighting.

But how can you handle this? Your superior speed and power aren't being very helpful. It's as if he can read your mind and protect your every move. He just seems able to perfectly counter every move you make against him, no matter what you try or what plans you devise. Part of you had been expecting an easy victory, but now you're kicking yourself for so thoroughly underestimating Jackie Chun.

The two old men stand still, fighting stances perfect as they prepare for the next phase of combat to begin. They don't seem overly shocked that you and your double kept one-another awake.

"You should give up, Tofoo," one of the Chuns advises. "You've put up a good fight, but this is a battle you won't win."

"Now who's being cocky?" you ask Chun, nodding to your counterpart before rushing in to attack head-on.

"It's not arrogance, boy," Chun tells you as the two of him prepare for the next round. "I can read you like a book."

You close the distance, one of you throwing a knee-strike aimed at the center of Chun's face, and the other throwing a kick at the right side of the other Chun's head. Each attack is casually blocked by the old martial artists, who look at you with bored expressions.

"Your movements are incredibly predictable," one of the Chuns explains. "Your power and technique may be superb, but it means nothing when I can so easily tell how you're going to fight."

A palm-strike to one of your guts, and a punch to the other you's face sends both Tofoos back, landing across from the old men and considering what to do next. Mostly, though, you're considering what Jackie just said. It's true that a frontal assault is something that can be dealt with in a simple manner, and probably true that your fighting pattern is pretty consistent and easy to pick up on. But earlier in the fight, even when you attempted to switch things up or pull tricky techniques, Jackie was able to anticipate and counter them all. Plus, the way he talked about it, saying he can tell how you're going to fight. As if he's not predicting it, but knowing it. That half-serious wondering if he's been reading your mind is suddenly something you're taking more seriously.

Wait, for a minute there, when you split into two, you had a clear advantage over Jackie Chun despite your power being halved, an advantage that was lost when Chun did the same thing. If he was reading your mind, splitting into two would have thrown him off as he tried to read two minds at once. But by splitting himself into two, he could have one of the hims focus on each of the yous.

Yeah, that could be it, especially considering the more serious expression that's suddenly appearing on his face. It looks like you've figured it out.

But, knowing what you're up against and knowing how to deal with it are two different things. If he's reading your mind, how can you deal with it?

>A. Split yourself into four warriors

>B. Split yourself into eight warriors

>C. Get really tricky and throw the Chuns off by thinking of times you were intimate with Bulma. If he's anything like Roshi, that'll get him.

You think about splitting yourself further, but you don't know if that tactic will work on Chun twice. There is a strategy that comes to you out of the blue a few moments later, though, that you're confident will give you at least a temporary edge. If Jackie Chun is anything like his hermit relative, then he has an obvious weakness that you can easily exploit in this circumstance; he's an old pervert that's rendered pretty much hypnotized by beautiful women.

And lucky you, you not only know beautiful women, but are married to one. A few thoughts of her might get Chun's attention, but if you really want to paralyze him, you know what to do. You and your doppelganger fill your minds with memories of some of your more...intimate moments with Bulma.

Vivid flashes of these moments play through your mind, from your first time, to your wedding night, to that one time she built those extra powerful restraints, to that one time when-okay, you need to get her to do that again. For a few moments, even you're distracted thinking about it, as is your body, but you're able to remind yourself of the fight and snap out of it far more easily than Chun.

Both of the old men stand there, faces red as tomatoes and blood leaking from their noses. It looks like your suspicions were correct, and your plan worked perfectly. The Chuns seem to be quietly muttering to themselves while holding their hands out in front of their faces and making squeezing motions. It may have been your idea to show off those memories, but what he's imagining doing right now prompts you and your counterpart to sock the Chuns extra hard.

One of you kicks one of the Chuns in the jaw, sending him flying into the air, while the other you blasts the other Chun in the gut, also sending him flying into the air. The two old men soar high above the ground, colliding with one-another and merging back into one Jackie. The Kuma-Ken-using you fires off another blast to keep the old man disoriented, sending him tumbling higher into the air.

Then, the Kami-Ken-using you uses the Kai-Kai to move above the elderly martial artist, bringing your elbow down between his shoulder-blades and sending him crashing to Earth with a loud boom.

With your power halved, you know that wasn't enough to beat him. You need to deliver the finishing blow before he has time to recover and fight back again.

>A. Fire down a massive barrage of energy attacks with your double-you won't have to waste time readying the attacks, and Chun will be subjected to a constant battering.

Not wanting to waste a moment, you hold your hands down toward the grounded geezer, your counterpart doing the same as both of you unleash a downpour of energy blasts upon your foe, bombarding him with dozens of the attacks before deciding that enough is enough. You want to win, but you don't want to kill the old man.

As the massive cloud of dust below you clears, you're relieved to see that Jackie Chun is indeed still alive, and shocked to see that he's actually standing up on two feet. His clothes are ripped, he's covered in dust, and his breathing is heavy, yet even after all of that, he looks like he could keep fighting.

"Well done, Tofoo," he commends from his spot on the ground. "That was quite a fight you gave me, but I think it's time we put an end to it. Since I know you won't stop fighting until you win or can't go on, I'll just concede for both of our sakes."

He's....giving up? Really? You know that at this point you'd win if you kept going, but you expected Jackie to stubbornly hold on until he can't raise a fist to fight.

"Don't let it go to your head, though," he warns. "If we battle again, I won't pull so many punches."

With incredible speed, he turns and vanishes into the woods, his energy disappearing only a moment later.

Well, that was something. What now?

>A. Go home to your family. Trunks could be leaving at any time, and you do have plans with Bulma for later.

Your meeting with Jackie Chun wasn't quite what you expected, but it was certainly enlightening. As you run through your options of what to do next, you settle on paying your friend Krillin a visit. You haven't seen him since he was absorbed by Cell, and now that he's back, you feel that you should probably stop by and at least say 'hello'.

Closing your eyes, you think of the outside of Krillin's home. You can transport there with a phrase. True, you could just teleport inside, but Krillin was just reunited with Chi-Chi, and knowing how gaga those two are over each-other, there's a very real risk that you'd end up seeing some things you don't want to see.

The Kai-Kai takes you just outside your friend's home, and the smell of delicious food tells you that you needn't have worried about popping into something naughty. It seems that Chi-Chi is busy preparing some of her incredible cooking.

You have to hand it to Krillin, he got quite the catch in terms of his love life. A pretty warrior princess who can fight with the strongest in the world, is an amazing cook, and is completely head-over-heels in love with him. Not to mention that he got a great kid who adores him out of the deal.

Considering Krillin's initial reason for pursuing martial arts was to impress women, you're happy for your friend that he found such great success.

You knock on the front door, and after a few moments, it opens to reveal the smiling face of Konattsu.

"Hi, uncle Tofoo!" she greets warmly.

You return the greeting with a smile that only grows wider when you hear the voice of one of your oldest friends.

"Hey Tofoo!" Krillin greets with enthusiasm as he enters the living room. "Come on in!"

Konattsu shuts the door behind you, skipping over to the sofa chair to the side of the larger couch. Krillin walks over to you, grinning.

"Man, I can't tell you how good it is to see you again," he remarks, looking up at you. "Gotta be honest, for a bit there I was worried we were all doomed. Cell just would not stay dead."

>A. That's just because Cell hadn't fought the two strongest girls on the planet yet.

>B. You're really glad to see him, too. You gave Cell quite a few hits for him.

"That's just because Cell hadn't fought the two strongest girls on the planet yet," you respond, smiling a bit at the look of joy that statement brings to the face of your niece.

"No kidding!" Krillin laughs. "Chi-Chi told me they gave Cell a fight like he'd never seen! I just wish I could have been there to see it."

So do you.

"I'm really glad to see you, Krillin," you tell your friend. "And just so you know, I gave Cell quite a few good hits for you."

"I heard," he tells you, raising a brow. "So, godly energy, huh? Man, you and Goku just keep finding new ways to leave the rest of us in the dust. I'm really going to have to step things up if I want to stand a chance in the tournament."

"Oh, daddy!" Konattsu addresses, getting up off the chair. "Can I go outside and do some training?"

"Sure, just make sure you're home in time for dinner," he answers.

The dark-haired girl rushes outside, leaving you and Krillin to yourselves.

"So, I heard from Goku that Trunks might be entering this time," he says. "Gotta say, it's going to be something to see all of our kids competing."

>A. For sure. It doesn't seem like that long ago that the three of you were children entering for the first time.

>B. Honestly, you know it's going to come down to Kori and Konattsu, but Trunks should be able to reach the semifinals.

"Yeah, but it's still kind of scary. In a few years, those three are going to be competing against the three of us. And with how strong they are, they might win," you point out, honestly not relishing the idea of losing your title to your son or your nieces. "But, that's part of the fun."

"Right!" Krillin agrees. "Honestly I'm looking forward to it."

"Krillin!" Chi-Chi calls from the kitchen. "Can you come try this?"

"Well, duty calls," Krillin tells you, turning toward the kitchen. "I'll see you later, alright?"

Deciding to head home, you return to Capsule Corp with a quick utterance, finding that most everyone is gathering in the backyard. Making your way there, you see your son's time machine standing in the grass, with Trunks himself standing beside it and talking to Bulma.

Before he leaves we should get coordinates for New Namek from King Kai if we can. And then get Bulma and Dr. Briefs to figure out a general idea of where it would be in Trunks’s time.
>>
>>2962658
>>2962678
The first thing you do is walk up to your son and pull him in for a big hug. In an instant, he's hugging you back, and both of you are finding it extremely hard to let go, knowing this is the last time you may see each-other. Or, at least these versions of each-other. You still have the present Trunks, who is watching the whole exchange with some confusion, but this bo-this man, this son of yours from an alternate future, you may never see him again. He'll go back to his time, destroy Gero and the Red Ribbon Army, and hopefully be able to live a peaceful life.

It's hard to overstate how proud you are of him, and how glad you are that he will finally get the peace that he deserves. But, most of all, it's hard to overstate how much you're going to miss him.

The two of you finally pull back from each-other, and you're surprised to see that he has tears in his eyes. You think back to the day you first met, how he'd held onto you and cried as he recounted all that had happened in his time. He may be a man, a hero, but he's still your child, no matter how old he gets.

Without really even thinking, you reach out and ruffle his hair, just like you often do with your younger son.

"I love you, Trunks," you tell your boy.

"I love you too, dad," he answers, taking a step back.

He turns only to find Bulma rushing over and throwing her arms around him, hugging him tightly and wishing him well. One by one, everyone bids the future version of your son farewell, and he climbs into the time machine.

You can see him through the dome, waving to everyone as the machine slowly rises into the air. As the machine climbs higher and higher, you suddenly remember that you'd wanted to find out the location of New Namek for him. You start to panic and go to run after him, only to be stopped as Bulma places a hand on your shoulder.

"Don't worry," she says in a soothing tone. "I called in a favor with Lapis and got Piccolo to find out where New Namek is. He'll be fine."

Your mind at ease, you raise your eyes toward the sky once more, seeing your boy wave to you one last time before his machine disappears, leaving your sight, and the timeline altogether.

And like that, he's gone. Back to his real home, ready to face whatever waits for him there. A part of you still wants to be there with him, but deep down in your heart of hearts, you know he can handle this. Despite everything that went wrong in that timeline, Trunks grew into a man you're proud to call your son.

That world is lucky to have him.

The little Trunks watches the sky in awe, and you once again find yourself wondering how much of this insane situation the little kid understands. In the end, you see him smile, though, so you guess that's good enough for you.

Part of you wants to laugh at your mother-in-law's comment. Another wants to express how much you feel the same way about that. And another wants to tell Bulma that you want for the two of you to have another.

In the end, though, none of that quite seems appropriate. Instead, you put an arm around Bulma, who turns her head to look up at you. You can see in her eyes all of the conflicting emotions that are running through your own mind. You're both proud of your son and happy that he'll be able to change things back in his own time, but both finding just how hard saying goodbye was in the end. No words need to be exchanged right now. Instead, you pull Bulma close, and the two of you hold each-other, each of you offering the other all of your love and support as you always have.

In front of you, Trunks continues to stare into the sky, only to slowly rise up to the very spot where the time machine vanished. He stares intently at the air in front of his face before bringing his hands up and cupping them in front of his mouth.

"Take care, me!"

>Meanwhile.....
>>

You are Trunks, and after a tumultuous journey, you are finally making your way home. You've done it. You've gotten the help you needed. You won't be returning to your future with the cavalry behind you, but you don't need to. No, thanks to your father, your mother, and your friends, you have all you need to finally do what so many have given their lives attempting.

With all you've learned, you know that you have the power to defeat Gero, Nineteen, Sixteen, and all of the Red Ribbon Army. You can finally change your world. A beautiful, brilliant hope for the future fills your heart and mind, and for once, it doesn't feel like a fool's hope. It's one of the most magnificent things you've felt in your lifetime.

It's only too bad that it's tempered by sadness.

When you went back to the past, you knew you'd have to say goodbye to those you'd meet back then. Or, at least you assumed that would be the case, not yet knowing for sure how exactly your actions would affect the space-time-continuum. But now that the time to bid your friends and family farewell has finally come and gone, there's a sort of emptiness in your heart that even the hope within it can't seem to fill.

You'll be returning to your mother, and you thank any gods that are listening for the fact that she's still alive. But your father, your grandparents, Kori, Konattsu, they're all dead in this timeline, and your experiences in the past did nothing to change it.

But that beautiful, persistent hope reminds you that now you know where New Namek is. Maybe you don't need to say goodbye forever. And, if ever you missed the other versions of your friends and family enough, you know you could go back to them and be welcomed with open arms.

You are Trunks.

And you've finally returned to your own time, the machine bringing you to a spot high above the rocky plateaus that hang over the sea on the Northern border of the continent. You chose this place for your departure because you and your mother were both certain that Capsule Corp was being closely observed, and because neither of you were sure that there weren't any agents of the Red Ribbon Army in any of the resistance bases. So now, when you return, you're far from any cities, and far from any people.

Ideally, nobody will know that you're back just yet, meaning you can essentially make your first move with impunity, whether that be striking against the Red Ribbon Army in some way, slipping back home in secret, or even powering up and letting the androids know where you are.

First thing's first. You climb out of the machine and return it to its capsulized form, tucking it safely away in your pocket. Gods willing, you won't be needing it again any time soon, but you'd rather it not be destroyed all the same.

Now, what should you do?

>A. North City, Gero's capital, isn't far from here. Go there and make the largest ruckus you possibly can. Destroy Red Ribbon forces and fortifications until the androids come for you.

>B. Keep your energy suppressed and make your way to the nearest resistance base.

>C. Keep your power suppressed and sneak back to Capsule Corp.

>D. Power up to the highest level you can in your current form and lure the androids to you.

>E. Power up to your actual full power and lure the androids in.

Before making any sort of move against the androids, you want to go and see if the situation has changed at all in your absence. There was a resistance base fairly close to this location when you left. Hopefully, it hasn't been discovered, and will still be there.

Only one way to find out. Strapping the sword your father made for you to your back, you take to the sky, doing your best to keep your power suppressed as you travel in the direction of the nearest base. It takes longer to get there than you'd like, but you can't do much about it if you want to remain hidden from Gero and his Androids.

In the nearby wastelands, you can sense some human energies. They're faint, being that they're normal men and women, but they're there. So, that should mean the base is still there. You touch down and look around for the particular rock littering the ground that marks the entrance to the base. Approaching, you knock on it three times.

For a few seconds, nothing happens. Then, the ground beneath you rumbles, opening up to reveal a stairway descending into the darkness. Making your way down, you find a pair of armed men waiting for you at the bottom, each of them saluting when they see you.

"Trunks, welcome back!" one of them, you think his name was Mark, greets eagerly.

Funny, you feel like you may have seen him in the past. Something about that facial hair...whatever, not important.

"Sir, there's someone here who wants to speak with you right away," the other man tells you. "Please, come with me. Mark, keep watch in case any of Gero's Hunters followed him."

"You got it!" Mark assures his friend in a rather theatrical tone. "Those cybernetic suckers won't know what hit them!"

"Just let us know if you see any suspicious activity," the other guy tells him before starting to walk away from the stairs. "This way Mr. Trunks."

You follow the man through the base, pleased to see that there are still many men and women keeping up the fight against the Red Ribbon Army. A few of them are people you recognize, while others you've never seen before. A few of them stop to look as you pass, some even shouting greetings or whispering to each-other in excitement. You aren't sure if your reputation for fighting the Androids and staying alive is the cause for all of the buzz, or if your mother let some of the details of your mission slip.

The guard leads you to a set of doors with a microphone and panel on the wall beside it. Pressing a button on the panel, he speaks into the microphone.

"Ma'am, he's here," the guard says, stepping back as the doors begin to open.

He motions for you to enter, and you do, stepping into a large room with monitors covering its far wall, showing video feeds of a variety of locations. The other walls are covered with a mixture of weapons and schematics, more than a few capsules, and a poster featuring a cat that looks very similar to your grandfather's which says "hang in there!".

In the center of the room is a rather messy-looking table, beside which stands the person you most wanted to see.

Your mother, looking just as you remember her, stands by the table, talking to a pretty, dark-haired girl, a few years younger than you by the looks of it. The conversation comes to an abrupt end though as you step into the room.

Your mother turns to you, smiles, and runs over to give you a big hug, which you happily return.

"I'll come back later," you hear the girl say, saluting toward you and your mother before leaving the room and shutting the doors behind her.

Your mom pulls back, holding you by the shoulders. "I'm so glad you made it back safe. But, what happened? Did you bring back anyone to help?"

>A. Tell her everything that happened

>B. Just give her the basics for now. You didn't bring anyone back, but you've gotten strong enough to destroy the Androids for sure.

Not sparing any details, you tell your mother all that's happened, from your first encounter with the past versions of her and your father, to the battles with the Androids, to the appearance of Cell and the many struggles against him, to the year in the time chamber, to the final victory at the Cell Games. Your mother mostly just listens, her expression changing between mild disbelief to fond acceptance that such things could happen where your father and Goku were involved. She seems happy to hear you talk of so many friends and loved ones alive and well, but there's no mistaking the wistful look in her eyes. You can't blame her, you feel pretty much the same.

"So, your dad gave you a year's worth of training," she recalls once you finish telling her everything. "And that's made you strong enough to beat the Androids all by yourself?"

You can understand the skepticism. Years of training with Kori and Konattsu weren't enough to beat the Androids before. But, through the training in the Time Chamber and all of the battles you fought in the past, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are powerful enough to deal with this. Gero and Nineteen won't last ten seconds, and Sixteen won't do much better. If Cell's out there, he'll still be in his first form, and so long as you aren't careless, you can pick him apart easily.

Seeing the look on your face, your mom gives you a confident smile.

"Well then, there's no point in waiting, is there?" she asks you, turning toward the monitors. "Doctor Gero is in North City. You'll either have to face him there and risk a lot of collateral damage, or lure him away."

>A. Go to North City. You want the element of surprise, and any lives lost will be nothing compared to how many died already.

Wanting to keep innocent people from being hurt in the battle, you make up your mind to return to the space where your time machine arrived and lure the Androids there.

"Before I go, here," you say, pulling out the capsule containing the time machine. "Don't want the capsule getting damaged in the fight."

"Right," your mom nods, tucking it away into the pocket of her lab coat. "Be careful."

Nodding in response, you depart from the base, waiting until you're a sensible distance away before beginning to fly at a higher speed, still keeping your energy suppressed, but allowing it to climb high enough where you're pretty sure Android 16 can sense it. You make it back to the spot where you landed before, and you wait.

"Hello again, Trunks."

Turning your head toward the voice, you see Doctor Gero perched upon a nearby rock, arms crossed and smirk on his face. You can vaguely detect more movement, and look up to see Androids 16 and 19 hovering in the air above you, with the clown looking to be on the verge of laughter, and the larger machine gazing upon you stoically.

"We've finally got you out in the open," Gero muses, hopping down from his rock and beginning to leisurely stroll in your direction. "Quite the blunder on your part. Then again, I suppose you're only taking after the company you kept. That bratty daughter of Goku wasn't exactly subtle, and Krillin's didn't know when to quit."

Anger flashes through you at the mention of your fallen friends, but you remind yourself to keep your composure. This has to be where it ends. You can't afford to go blind with rage or slip up in any other way. Focus, deep breaths.

"Though you have proven better at running away than they were," Gero continues as he grows closer still. "I must admit, I'm still astounded by your last escape. But, I promise you that there will be no running away this time."

That is just so good to hear. Gero is obviously quite confident, and glancing at the other machines, you can tell that Nineteen is as well. Sixteen, however, is frowning at you, and you wonder if he suspects that something's wrong. It won't make much difference if he does, but still, that gives you pause for just a moment.

"So, which of us would you prefer to have take your life?" Gero questions, uncrossing his arms and coming to a stop just a few yards away. "I'm open too requests."

>A. You'll start with him.

>B. Nineteen goes first.

"I think I'll start by making you lose your son a second time, Gero," you reply in a cold voice, locking your eyes on the large, red-headed killing machine hanging in the air above you.

"Talk tough all you want," Gero tells you, his tone indicating that you touched a nerve. "It won't do you any more good than it did for anyone else! Sixteen, kill him!"

Not this time.

With a roar, you set your power free, a green aura erupting into being around your body with a blinding flash, accompanied by winds that howl and blow like a hurricane, pushing all three of the machines back. You're pleased to see the fearful look on Sixteen's face as he struggles against the sudden eruption of power.

But, you don't waste time enjoying it. Instead, you erupt into the air with such force that the ground beneath your feet cracks and craters with a deafening boom.

Reaching back, you unsheathe your sword and bring it through Sixteen's neck, separating his head from his shoulders and allowing it to fall, but only for a fraction of a second before you slice that in half as way, and make a series of slashes through his decapitated body. As the machine quite literally falls to pieces, you hold out your left hand and unleash a wave of energy that incinerates what's left.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Gero yells from below, staring up at you with wide, terrified eyes.

Re-sheathing your sword, you prepare to attack the terrified old man, who looks ready to turn tail and run.

"Nineteen!" he cries. "Attack!"

Detecting movement behind you, you throw your fist back over your shoulder and hit the portly clown in the face with a back-knuckled punch, watching as Gero turns and flees as fast as he can.

He won't get away.

Moving quickly, you speed past the terrified man, appearing right in his path. You see the absolute panic and terror in his eyes as he registers your sudden appearance and struggles to stop. Before he can do that, you throw a kick that sends him sailing back the way he came from, crashing into an outcropping of rocks in the distance.

No point in drawing this out, and you don't want to give him the chance to flee while you deal with Android 19. Better to finish the old man once and for all.

As he struggles to pick himself off the ground, you race over to his current position, once again grabbing the hilt of your sword and drawing it out. With two swift strokes, you remove his hands, and the energy-sapping nodes embedded within them.

The old man's eyes look as if they're about to pop out of his sockets, and his entire body shakes as you hold out your left hand, palm right in front of his terrified face.

"Wait, please! Merc-"

He doesn't finish the word before his entire body is engulfed in energy, artificial and biological pieces of his being destroyed in the same moment as his life finally comes to an abrupt end.

Two down, one to go.

At this point, you can just barely make out the retreating form of Android 19, fleeing for his artificial life. He's not moving nearly fast enough. It takes only seconds for you to catch up with the machine, and within just a few more, he meets the same end as his compatriots.

As you prepare to bask in your victory, you sense, juuuust for a moment, a surge of power. It's somewhere in the distance, and feels like multiple beings. You can sense....yourself, Goku, your father, Kori, Konattsu, Krillin, Chi-Chi, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Chaozu, Master Roshi, Master Shen, Freeza, his father, and many others.

That can mean only one thing.

"Cell...."

The energy vanishes a moment later.

Based on what you sensed in that brief moment, Cell seems to be coming for you. Perfect, you'll destroy him at the same place where his creator met his end. In this case, you'll need to be careful, though. Cell is far more dangerous than any of the other creations of Doctor Gero. He can regenerate the most severe damage, and possesses a cavalcade of deadly techniques from the greatest warriors in the universe. You need to be careful, and you need to be thorough. Not one atom of this bastard can remain, and you need to make sure he doesn't use Instant Transmission to escape from you as he did in the past.

For now, though, you stay where you are, waiting for Cell to appear. You close your eyes, extending your senses far beyond sight and searching for anything; movement, energy, anything that would suggest the approach of the terrible monster. Minutes pass with no sign of anything, until finally, you feel something creep into fringes of your senses, slowly approaching you.

Opening your eyes, you call out to the creature. "You can come out, Cell! I know you're there!"

Turning around, you see the creature, half-hidden behind a rock, looking at you with surprise, clearly not expecting you to notice him until it was far too late.

That look is quickly replaced with a sinister smile, and Cell steps out into the open, his terribly dangerous tail waving behind his grotesque body as he takes a few steps closer, stopping at a far enough range where he feels he can be ready if you attempt to attack him or something. It seems he's smart enough not to treat you as a complete joke.

"Well, hello there, Trunks," he greets in that skin-crawling voice of his. "I was hoping to surprise you, but I suppose it doesn't really matter."

His eyes scan the area, taking note of the scorch-marks and scattered pieces of metal around you. Rather than looking distressed or worried, he looks hungry. Licking what passes for lips on him, he focuses on you again, his tail moving more excitedly behind him.

"So, you were able to destroy Doctor Gero and his Androids," the monster observes. "I didn't think you'd have that kind of power. But to tell the truth, I'm quite happy to be wrong."

>A. "I'll bet. My energy might take you all the way to your perfect form if you absorb me."

>B. "You won't be for long. You're going to die Cell, here and now."

>C. "You don't even care that your creator's dead?"

"I'll bet," you tell the monster, dropping into a defensive stance and getting yourself ready for his attack. "My energy might take you all the way to your perfect form if you absorb me."

Once again, the monster's face shows genuine surprise. "What? How would you know about that?!"

"It doesn't matter," you tell him, bracing yourself. "Because you'll never absorb me, and you'll never reach your perfect form."

Cell chuckles darkly to himself, his surprise at your knowledge replaced by the confidence of many of the warriors from whom he was made.

"You fool, I'll have what I want," he promises. "Your resistance only means that you will suffer more before the end."

With a cry, he leaps into the air, falling toward you and stabbing forward with his tail, hoping to quickly impale you and suck you up, absorbing you into his being and transforming into something far more powerful than anything this world's ever seen.

Turning your body, you catch his tail just behind the stinger, pulling the creature's body toward you and thrusting your free hand toward it, unleashing a wave of light that utterly vaporizes the top half. His lower body, still in your grip due to his tail, falls to the ground, twitching and trembling as it struggles to regenerate itself as quickly as possible. A Bear Shout keeps that from happening, and you're left with nothing but a wriggling tail in your hands.

With your free hand, you create a blade of pure energy, and stab with it into the wriggling tail in your other hand, cutting a wide enough gash for you to deactivate the blade and fit your entire fist in there before it can regenerate. With a yell, you pour as much energy at you can into Cell's tail, destroying it from the inside out. The hand holding it gets scorched pretty badly in the process, but you feel it's worth it. Once the tail is gone, you let out a massive burst of energy for good measure.

Then, you wait. You wait to see any sign that Cell might have survived. Minutes pass, then turn to hours, and still, nothing. He's gone, the nightmare is over, and your world is on the road to a brighter future. You know it'll take time to defeat what's left of the Red Ribbon Army, but the most terrible monsters your world has ever known are gone for good.

The future looks bright.

I would like to see a thread or two of training.

I would prefer intense base form training with Goku in very high gravity focused on defense, the same but in transformed states focused on mastering god ki, or training with picollo and mr popo for technique and god stuff in that order.

There are other outliers for training, but I’m not sure they would be as fun.

Specifically, using the pendulum room to observe/fight Cell and mutaito. Cell had some great crowd control techniques and was a technique genius in general. With Mutaito, Shen, Roshi, and Jackie Chun to observe Tofoo could massively improve his Ki senses, technique, and fighting. All without tipping off his competitors.

There is an even more effective training, but Som would rightly never allow it so I’ll keep mum.

I half think we should have Trunks train with Mr. Popo.

I also like the idea of trunks having a bunch of ki Sword techniques to differentiate him from Tofoo.

Doesnt being guardian give us a kind of limited imortalit? No death from old age or something similar? Or Im just misremembering.

Could always wish for a limited imortality thing. Wish for the removal of the usuage limit to the time chamber and then spend a full year in the tmechamber for 365 years of non stop / Insanity inducing Gains.

You racka disciprine.

I would prefer to spend our days training with Goku, then head up to the Lookout to check on the earth, finish up with the pendulum chamber and be back home in time for dinner.

Plenty of things to do, interesting encounters, and lots of gains. And we wind up a better dad than vegeta

I'd rather not to spent 365 years training either
but we can do most things with a good schedule. Do the more time consuming (and boring) stuff in the Time Chamber, like improving our ki control, mastering godly ki and making new techniques. Then on the outside we do everything else we can't do there like training Trunks, sparing with Goku (and learning IT), using the Pendulum Room and most importantly, fucking Bulma. We have seven years and 18 wishes until the Buu saga, might as well make the most out of it.

You really can't, nor shouldn't over abuse the time chamber like that. You have to remember that while it seems like a fast way to train, you still age in the chamber itself. Even with the powerful health, strong ki plus heavenly ki, magic water and senzu bean consumption over the years, and all that other jazz that will probably result in Tofoo living as long, if not longer than, Roshi and his centuries of life, Tofoo will still age and deal with consequences old age bogging down the body as a result. What would be a good idea is using the pendulum room to train ki and create techniques with while intense gravity training for the body and sharpening those techniques sparring with piccolo and popo at the lookout is the best way to build up. Plus, we can just go home for dinner and spend time with the family then, just set training time in the same way a father with a job would.

That problem is solved by wishing eternal youth, which comes with the problem of eventually seeing all of our family and friends wither and die but we'll deal with that later.
>>
>>2970463
You know, I was considering that possibly becoming an issue in the future depending on how certain things play out.
>>
>>2970463
I don't know, being the guardian and defender of the earth, it just feels really lame to give yourself eternal life just so you can hax the time chamber and get hundreds of years of experience over the others to get ahead. I would rather Tofoo become the strongest purely through hard work without resorting to altering himself.

Let's just get the Super Dragon Balls and switch bodies with Jiren.
>>
>>2970492
The Guardian of a planet already ages at a slower than normal rate. No dragon wishes required.

The effect time has on life is way too mature of a theme for Dragon Ball... Now I want to see ot happening.

>>2970492
That's a silly mentality. We have so many responsabilities that being strong isn't a matter of healthy competition. Majin Buu, Dabura, Zamasu, Black, they won't give a shit about fairness. If we have to choose to give up time for either our family or our training or give up a useless ideal I think the choice is obvious.
Besides, it's not like the Dragon Balls and the Time Chamber will do the work for Tofoo.
>>
>>2970619
>Majin Buu, Dabura, Zamasu, Black,
Who? Tofoo has never heard of those people
>>
>>2970637
Just change any future villain name for "the next genocidal bastard that WILL come to ruin my day" and it's in character for Tofoo
>>
>>2970619
HBTC exploits are a terrible idea. They shorten Tofoo tenure as guardian, are boring as fuck, boring to write, and are completely out of character.

The only time anyone uses the HBTC is when they have no other option. Even turbo training autist Goku doesn’t over use it.

I wanted to give you guys a head's up that I may not be running this week. I have a lot of obligations and things to get done that are sapping my time and energy. God willing, I'll have more free time next week to run.

Nah man, we should totally wish for eternal life. I know some anons would want it for the maximum gains we could get from it, but I mainly want us to get it because I've never seen a Dragon Ball quest where the MC wished for immortality.
>>
>>2977727
I guess but what would the motivation even be, why eternal life? It's not like we're not gonna get into eternal paradise and I'm sure that spending your life outliving everyone you know and love for generations would be insanely depressing, not to mention that I think Tofoo is wise enough to know even with the likely centuries of life he'll live he still has to pass on the torch and retire like the old masters before him did. It would just feel really out of character to want eternal life, and besides eternal youth would make more sense anyway. Hundreds of years in your prime till your natural death of old age, that'd be awesome.
