You and your team, plus Kadabra roam the outskirts in search of a nice place to train. An ample and empty terrain where occasionally a Sandshrew will rear his head to see what’s happening.

Percy: Alright team, today we’ll be learning a new move. Toxic.
[Vulpix]: Are you dumb trainer? I can’t produce any venom! I think?
Percy: Curiously enough most Pokémon have glands that produce Toxins somewhere along their body, so this shouldn’t be too difficult.
Mimikyu is more than ready learn, “Whatever to become more useful to Master”. Vulpix is still doubtful, Houndour isn’t particularly interested but understands your reasoning as to why this move could be useful. Loudred just likes learning new moves even tough she prefers to use directly damaging moves. Kadabra is up for it, even though he isn’t officially part of your team he finds the TM a very interesting device.

Prince sits back by your side, he seems to be preparing to chill for a bit, reclining on a rock.

[Prince]: Oh man, they are just ready to go right? Pretty cool, my seniors

Percy: When I said “team” It included you Prince

[Prince]: What? Pa! I’m a newborn! I can barely walk, you need to look after me and carry me everywhere and take it easy on me.

Percy: Good try, but you already know at least one “egg-move” don’t you? And you have no trouble running towards me to avoid your teammates. C’mon Prince, this will be good for you.

You are a sucker for adventure, and what could be more adventurous than exploring some ancient ruins?

After a quick stop at the Pokémon center, you shoot Gareth and Eli a quick message to let them know where you’ll be hanging.

Eli: Alright, me and Blondie will be tracking down some wild mons. Have fun looking at old, dead stuff dude! Btw, what’s up between the three of you? Did Gareth try to get in your pants again?

[Gareth]: Take care man, oh and say hi to Lydia if you see her there!

At First glance the ruins don’t seem like much. Just old stone huts, but once you enter them you realize that the buildings are underground. You make your way down the stone stairs to find yourself at the entrance of a big ancient chamber. The ruins have been researched for a pretty at first it wat ought that it was only a central chamber with tunnels leading to smaller rooms. But it seems that every now and then a new passage will be discovered, usually by accident. Nobody is sure how actually big was this settlement, it may have been a small village or a full-on city.
The place is open for trainers and infested with various cave-dwelling Pokémon. There’s Zubats, Digglets, Swoobats, Sandshrews filling the place, as well as other more unusual Pokémon.

As you traverse the seemingly endless ruins, your flashlight serves as a guide as things start to become shrouded in darkness. You spy something from the corner of your, skittish and scared. It looks over you, it hasn’t been following you, it seems to be hiding. A pair of red eyes shines in the darkness for a moment, you can fear some faint sounds of it munching on the soil.
It’s a Larvitar no doubt!

The Larvitar seems a little shaken after hearing the human, he knows you are in the room with him, but he tries to not gain your attention, so he’s abstaining from digging.

Percy prepares his vocal cords to emulate as closely as possible the sound of the Rock type. Slowly he crouches to the floor, still giving his back to the Larvitar, the human whispers sfortly to avoid being heard.

You are in another of the rooms at the ruins. There’s a hole in the ground where Larvitar came from, you can hear running water below you. Apparently, the ruins continue deeper down, using your escape rope you could rappel down there. But once you are there you’ll have to untie yourself from the rope to continue exploring.

[Larvitar]: Thanks human! I was afraid I wouldn’t see mama again! I wish I had something to thank you with, but all my stuff is back home!

Descending trough the hole he made you suddenly find yourself on a journey longer than you previously thought so. A man-made river flows through the ruins, they must have constructed some sort of water transporting system ages back, and somehow it stills functioning to this day. Probably because this whole level of the ruins seems almost untouched by time. There’s various Pokémon swimming inside the body of water. Magikarp, Barboach, and you swear you can see a couple of Mudkips swimming inside of it.
The walk to the hole where Larvitar fell into the water is a pretty long. When you finally make it down to surface you aren’t in the whistling desert anymore. A little valley hidden by various rock formations. You are far away from Ibarra Village. Larvitar guides you to his hide, a little cavern at the foot of one of these formations. Seems like besides Larvitar and his family, there’s not many Pokémon living here.
Little Larvitar goes straight to the cave, but as you draw near you can feel these dangerous look on you. A Tyranitar emerges from the cave, she’s getting ready to hit you with a Hyper Beam if you step too close. Thankfully, Larvitar manages to calm her down a little. He goes inside the cave and returns with a little something in his hands

It’s a King’s Rock! (When equipped your mon makes the opponent flinch if he gets a 10 on the rolls) you can also sell it for a pretty hefty price.
It’s starting to get a little late, being 4:00 pm

I feel like he might be because not only are he and Percy friends since Percy was a kid, but there's an element of a deal there too. Percy gets him knowledge and experience of human stuff and technology and concepts/ideas on the journey, and he also benefits by personal development (ex. evolution and seeing the region outside the hometown city).
Even then, I'm not sure how Kadabra would feel about us relying on his teleports like we do. Instantaneous travel to places you've been before is one HELL of a drug.

And if you are looking for ancient remains of Pokémon am afraid I haven’t seen any here nor in the ruins. But I have seen ancient bones made stone inside the natural caverns of the desert.
[Tyranitar]: You are correct, this place is not usual. A story has been passed down as time goes. Long ago there was a Pokémon who could create mountains out of nothing. He shaped this valley as a refugee from the humans that hunt us to this day,
Percy: Do you think that history has anything to do with this stone idol?
[Tyranitar]: I can’t tell for sure. I don’t know about human culture. But I’ve seen various figures similar to the one you have inside the ruins.
Percy: Do you know how to get deeper into the ruins? I merely wish to explore some more
[Tyranitar]: I know about something, there are hard steel chambers constructed on the deeper levels of the ruins. Strong enough to impede me from breaking in. When I was a Larvitar I stumbled upon a big Iron gate near the manmade underground river. The gates where locked, but there may be a way to get inside.


Tyranitar seems a lot more amicable now, you are welcome to the valley as long as you don’t bring anyone or tell anyone about this place. You thank Larvitar for his gift and decide to part ways!

Your team has managed to keep her at bay, evading her attacks and diverting her attention from you. You get to the cave and manage to get Kadabra back to his ball. The Larvitar looks at you teary eyed. He doesn’t understand why his mother tried to hurt you and doesn’t want to see his mother be hurt. You have no time to talk with him and explain him what is happening, and even if you could, you aren’t sure if that would be good for him.
You sprint back to the passage that connects the valley and the tunnel leading to the ruins. Mimikyu manages to make her flinch and assure their escape. Everyone is running towards the tunnel. Loudred grabs Prince and throws him to Houndour so he can ride him. She tells you to get her in her ball since she’s the slowest of the bunch, you do so as fast as you can.

Tyranitar is running behind you, launching any attack she cans, once you are inside the tunnel she collapses the entrance. You aren’t sure if she just wanted to make sure you never return or if she was trying to crush you with the falling rocks.

[Houndour]: What a smothering mother, I understand her dislike for humans. But that was excessive, making us lower our guard by inviting us just so she can take out “Partner”
