Last time. After your coronation, you started managing your empire. You did a lot, with the improvement of the non-humans right, the numerous constructions projects, and the increase in the size of the army. You even became friend with the women of the nobility. But not everything was good. There is political problems, as a noble killed all the non-humans males of his lands. There was also an incident with some priests in the non-humans territories. The criminality is also still high, even as the city guard fight the numerous gangs.

With the numerous problems in your Empire, you created the Royal council. Composed of representatives of your subjects, religious men, advisers, and managers, this will facilitate the administration of the empire. You also established a spy network, to work in the shadows.

But you have not remained inactive either. You trained your body and your mind. You trained your rapier skill with Irene and Silviana, your magic with Shelur, where you caught a glimpse of your guardians, And learned about economics and politics. But you also learned something less endearing. Lazarus can't have children, or rather, can't with a normal woman, not without hurting her, breaking her body, and corrupting her soul, due to his exceptional lineage. You promised him you'll find a way, so you'll both be able to start a family.

Then he left, to fight a warband wreaking havoc in the east. He should be back for the year-end celebration. You admit that your bed feel cold and lonely without him.

After you fell asleep, you entered the realm of dreams. You entered the Temple, and you saw something incredible.
There is a small camfire. Around it, a snake-like creature of darkness, a white wolf, and a deer, are relaxing of the ground, enjoying the warmth of the fire. The deer lift his head and see you.

>"Oh ! Freya, it's been a while. Come, approach, join us, this is your mind after all."

You smile, and you walk toward the fire. If the wolf is your ancestral power, and the Shadow-thing your darkness, then the Campfire is your Light power. But compared to the Wolf and the Darkness, It's is very small.

As you sit down, the Wolf and the Darkness get up, and come to you. The wolf snuggle against you like an oversized puppy, and the Darkness wraps itself gnetly around you and rest his head on your shoulder. The deer look at you three, and chuckle.

>"My, isn't that cute ! They must be lonely, after all it's been a while since you used your powers. So, my dear Freya, How do you do ? Being an Empress must be difficult." say the deer.

>" I'm good, thank you. I feel like I'm doing good as a ruler. There is of course some problems, but in the end, I'll find a way. That how I do it." you say.

You look at the deer, and start talking.

You say nothing. It's a two months and a half journey from Drack's Keep to Lynn. And that without the tensions around the borders. You'll need to travel incognito if you want to avoid potential problems . . . . Or maybe you couls actually make it an official visit. You could go to Lynn to meet Hagëndorff the Great. And go make a small detour by the Temple District. You'll need to think about it.

>"I told you, this won't be easy. Or maybe it could be easy, I know you'll find something. You're really resourceful." chuckle the deer.

You laugh too, and you look at the white animal sitting in front of you, Then at the Big Wolf snuggled against you, and the Darkness gently wrapped around you.

>"Are you still lonely here ? You have my two powers with you, and my Light to warm you. Are still lonely ?" you say.

You slowly get up, and walk to the deer, and you gently pat his head, with a kind smile.

The deer rise up quickly, and you see him slowly tranform into a monster worthy of your worse nightmares.

The deer/thing say nothing, then sit down. He keep his monstruous appearance but stay calm.

>"I'll allow it. You may proceed to pat my head." he say, with pride in his voice.

You stiffle a laugh, and go back to petting him. After some time the Wolf come to your side, and whine. You understand and pat his head too. The darkness look at the two beast, then you.

>"Sorry, but I only have two hands." you say.

The Darkness hiss, then rub itself affectionately against your neck. You stay like that for some time. You have read a fairy tale like this before. But the princes had animals not monstrous beasts. Still, this is nice.

You keep patting the deer head, and ou take this opportunity to ask him several questions.

You find this hard to believe. If they are hiding, how can they hide if they are this big, and if they are dead, you wonder what kind of thing could kill them. You try tochange the topic.

So, unlike the Light and Darkness, who fight for supremacy, The Gods of the world don't care for either side. But it look like the deer was asked to be with you, at least at the start.

You think about how you dealt with Brunhild, maybe you need to do something similar.

She leave, and you sigh. You spend the rest of the morning managing your empire, listening to advisors, and chosing how to deal with soem issues. Then after a quick meal, it's time to start.

You go out of the castle, followed by Silviana, Irene, Shelur and Dillon. In front a the castle, a large crowd is gathered. On the scaffold, the noble, with guards and Ruriska. And a pyre. As you sit down on a smaller throne, here just for you, you raise your hand, and the crownd go silent. you start talking.

>"Lord Dallow, you are accused of mass murder, deceit and treason, how do you plead ?"

>"Not guilty, my queen." he reply, confident.

>"Then how do you explain the fact that you attacked tribes of non-humans, despite no hostile actions on their parts ? Or the fact you killed all the males, leaving only women and children ? Maybe you can also explain the facts that you used them as servants, to build fortifications. Fortifications that won't be enough to stop a big army, but enough to counter a small fighting forces, like a punitive force, send by the authority perhaps ?" you declare.

The people in the crowd start talking between themselves, a noble tried to go against the Emperor powers, and the Empress wishes. The noble start to get angry.

>"All I did was to further the glory of the North ! Our ancestors fought those beasts for centuries, that how we got our lands, with sweat and blood. You are a fool to think they won't backstab you. I took measure to be sure they won't try. I ruled my lands for longer than you were alive. I'm right, and all your laws won't change that." he shout

>"I'm guilty of no crimes !" he shout again.

>"You commited crime against the people of the empire, against the crown. In the light of the evidences presented to me, and your words, I declare you guilty. I sentence you to death by fire."

>"WHAT ? YOU CAN'T . . . ." he scream.

He doesn't finish as guards take him to the pyre, and attach him to the pole. The noble keep screaming about injustice, and how your going to destroy the North. Then you get up from your throne and you slowly walk up to the pyre. When you're in front of it, the guards pour oil on the wood, and Ruriska give you a torch. You look at the noble in the eyes.

>"May the Gods have mercy on your soul, because I'll have none." yuo say, with a dark face.

You approach, and you set fire to the wood, soon flames appears around the noble, and he start to scream as the fire devour him. You remember this smell. What do you do ?

You watch the noble, as the fire start to burn his clothes start to burn. You watch as his skin is turning red and horrible blisters appear on his face. He scream in agony as the fire destroy his body, a thick smoke rise. You look at the noble, and he see you. You don't know if he can understand, or if the pain turned him mad, but you look at him with a dark face, full of anger. This is what happen when you dare challenging your power. His skin begins to melt , his flesh turn to charcoal, and he keep screaming. Un fortunately, he lose consciousness, the pain was to much, and the smoke didn't help. Still, you stay in front of the fire, the flames casting menacing shadows on your face. After A long time, all that's left is a blackened skeleton, with some burned flesh.

You turn to Ruriska, and she nod. She tell the guards to start cleaning this mess. And you look at the crowd.

And he betrayed the empire, he betrayed you ! You are the Empire, if someone betray the Empire, he betray all of you. The crowd applaud and cheers, they approve of your actions. You then go back to the castle. It's late afternoon, What do you do now ?

i have an idea for the criminals and outlaws in general : make for the worst ones a new type of military service, a frontline light infantry that will always fight first until they die (give them cheap weapon&armors but an harsh training, all of them need to be marked with a ritual magic that bends them to do this).... But for the "better" ones they could serve in mines/public service ..... or be the working force for a farmlands expanding project. (especially near great forests or swamps; the idea is that they could work hard, create new villages and farms, redeem themself and then live there like new settlers)

You decide to take a walk in the corridors of the castle. You start to move forward and change direction at random. You meet guards and servants, they stop what they are doing and bow to you. You give them a nod and continue your walk. The corridors are clean, and well lit, by numerous candlesticks hanging on the wall. statues of warriors are present in some corridor. You also meet construction teams, and sometimes you have to turn around because redecoration work is underway.

You continue walking, and as you start descending the stairs, you think about what you're told, about the depths of the castle, and a red door. You think you should take a look at this.

You go down, taking every step that lead you down. You think you did for some time, then you find a set of stairs, without light. You take a candlesticks, and go down. It's cold, and dark. You find yourself in a long corridor of stone, without any light. You keep walking forward, and as you're about to turn, you hear some voices, you look, and you see two guards, in engraved heavy armor. They talk between themselves. You take a deep breath and you walk up to them. When they hear you coming, they turn their head in suspicion, but when they see you they salute.

In the folowing days, the reconstruction is underway. This is helped by the fact that the formers slaves you liberated managed to at least clean up a bit of the city. It will take time, but it look like it's possible for the city to regain its past glory. Strangely, the knights of the Light don't really help, and instead, they requisition resources and locations, to "help the faith".

You accept gladly and soon they start to work. The prisonners are sent to work, under the watchful eyes of the guards, and they do a good job, as a lot of them are in good shape, thank to their life of crimes and fights. The street kids are glad to work, some of them think they'll have a chance to meet the beautiful Empress. You also allocate a lot of ressources in this project
All in all, the projects will be finished faster, but still this is a colossal work.

You hope she'll find a good way to give reparation to the widows and orphans. You also think about how this culd lead to better cohabitation, and perhaps even marriage between the races. In the following days, it look like it work nicely, as the females like the soldiers, they are warriors after all, and the children look up to them. You think this was a good idead to have a lot of veterans in the legions.

She'll have to marry someone from within Asoevia, and that when she gets married, she and her husband must form a new dynasty name, so her future children will inherit it. She's overjoyed by this, and she joke with you about the "marriage part" part of the deal, telling you you're not her mom.

You send letters to the various Gnoll and Kobold Tribes, asking them if they would be willing to send some of their unmarried men to help repopulate the devastated tribes. Some accept, other don't, the loss of able men, even if they are unmarried, is not good for a tribe, still you think this is good enough, at least maybe some of the widows will find new love.

You summon the Knights of The Light to the capital to inquire as to what their intentions are. You think they're up to no good. But you can't just send troops to forcefully bring them here. They send a reply, telling you they have an holy mission, and can't come to meet you. They also say you should pray to the Light more, and maybe you could see the way.

You decide to go out, and visit the troops. You go to a maneuver field outside the city, where large scale training take palce. You walk among the soldiers, they are happy to see their Empress, seeing taht you take time to meet them raise morale. You talk to them, about their feeling. They like the fact that your cleaning the empire of "filth" like corrupt noble, and bandits. They also enjoy the time of peace, eve if they know it won't last. Still they are ready to die for you, and the Emperor. You thank them for they dedication. But there is complaints as well. The soldiers would love to have a place to "have fun". With the danger in the streets, and their dwelling numbers, some of the men regret the "girls". Also the fact that they don't have war beasts. Look like the men of your army are a bunch of dork, like someone you know. The soldiers seem to like you enough to share stories, and rumors. They accept the non-humans enough, even if they don't think they ever be able to be like human. Still they think they are good warriors, and would love to see them on a battlefield.

You Run again this week, to increase your endurance, You go to the courtyard and start running, without stoping you manage to run for an hour and a half without stopping. you still feel weak, and tired, but you're sure you're getting there, wich is nice.

You also train your Dexterity, thank to the book, you strech yourself, and try to twist your body in more complicated way. You manage to raise your foot up to your head. You also try to touch your feet while doing a split.

You train your body to increase your strengh. You take your two leather pouch, and you fill, them this time with sand. You estimate each of them to weight around 3 kg (4.4 pounds). This time you try to keep them in front of you, at the same level as your face. You try to stay like that for as much time as possible. You sweat heavily, and your arms start burning, but you try. When you really can't take it anymore, you let go of them.

You continue your training with Shelur, this time outside. You try to manifest your two guardians again, You listen to Shelur voice as you close your eyes, and look inside yourself, calling to your Wolf and Shadow. You can feel their joy as they are called by their master. You open you eyes, and the come forth, in the same light coming out of you. The majestic White Wolf, anf the frightening Darkness. You can fell their powers as they howl, and you smile. But you can't aintain it for long, and after 10 second, you feel weak. You don't want to collapse like last time, so you sever the link, and the guardians dissapears. Shelur nod, telling you you did good.

You read the light book again, trying to learn a healing spell. You use a dead plant to try, you read the book, then focus, and you try to channel the fire in you, an release it in your hand. The plant slowly lights up, and rise slowly. You can see some green coming back. But it doesn't last, the light dissapear, and the healing stop. Still you managed to heal the plant a little, you should be able to heal minor scratches.

You train with your rapier and you repeat several complicated movements, But you already know how to do them perfectly. Look lke you won't learn anything more. Maybe this is your limit. or maybe your body need more training.

She also have a rough wood chest and several weapons on the walls, and she also have a spot with numerous vials and bottles. She see you two.

You also got Silvie in a loving hug, both arms on her hips.

You think you need to do this more often. You sure Lazarus won't get angry. You know he trust you. You feel really good, the loneliness you felt earlier disappeared.

You have the priests continue their work among the non-humans, and keep proselytizing among the tribes. You ask them to focus on the individuals who interact the most with the human villages, and try to convert them. This work really well as the non-humans who are in direct contact with humans enjoy talking with the priests with important discussions about the way of life, and the eaching of the holy scriptures. In the following days, the priests are happy to report their first converts. You think you'll need to have a official census of the non-humans and their faiths.

You invest a large amount of money into the Spy Network. With those investments, your spy increase the size of their networks, buying infos, and briding more of their contacts, like an invisible hand.
You also send your best spy to watch the Knights of The Light, to find out whether they're trying to blatantly cause trouble or not.
After some days, you have the first report. There is some clash with the knights and the inhabitants, the former slaves in particular. The knights berate them on the fact that they don't worship the Light, the citizens reply that it wasn't the Knights that helped them when they were in need. There is also tensions with the small non-human population, as they knights try to push them to fight. But this mean a lot of people go for the faith of the Gods of the North.

They find a number of scholars, with skills in chemistry, physics, astronomy, mathematics, geography, and history. There aslo a some accountants eager to work for the crown, they will help in managing the budget of the University, supplies and food, so you won't have to deal with it personally. You ahve your science teaching staff, now you need the Military staff, but you're sure Lazarus could choose himself, if you ask him.


One day you officially call a meeting for all the most important priests of the three religions, to discuss the religions place in the government and the future of The Empire. You send a letter to the Black Moon, telling him he doesn't need to attend himself, you understand have a lot to do, he can send whoever he want instead. He reply that he's happy for your consideration, and that he'll send his Great Inquisitor. One evening, The Cardinal of the Light in the North, the Archpriest Of the Gods of the North, and the Great Inquisitor of the Black Moon are seated on a round table with you. The cardinal wear a pure white and gold vestment, the Archpirest wear a humble druidic robe, and the Great inquisitor wear an iron armor, with a green tabard. Those men are wary of each other, and are waiting for you to talk.

One morning, you go into the city, with Silviana and an escort, and you look for new books and Magical Artifacts. After some time, you don't find anything interesting. Then you find a small shop, between two stone buildings. Inside you finds some interesting books. You take those that'll help you learn something.

You learn that the Gods on the North ask their followers to simply give thanks for what you get from the world : Love the animals, as the are child of the gods too. Take care of the earth, as it is the mother of all life, Respect the water, as it is the life blood of all that live. And a lots of things lie thats, for basically everything natural.

The Light ask that you whorship it, you have to pay honor and homage to the Light. You also pray to the Light, and you shall be blessed. You also need to fight the darkness, outside and inside. Be good, and you shall go to heaven.

You already know about the Black Moon whorship.

You Run again this week, to increase your endurance. This time, you go to the training ground and start running, without stopping you try to do it until you can't do i anymore. In the end, you're drenched in sweat, and you're really thirsty. After some time, you walk back to the castle.

You also train your Dexterity, you stretch yourself again, and after a little warm up, you manage to put your foot behind you, and take it in your hand, while standing. You stay in this position for some time, then do the same with the other leg. You are more flexible now.

You train your body to increase your strength. You take your two leather pouch, and you fill, them this time with sand. You estimate each of them to weight around 4 kg. You start with them on the ground, you do a push up then take them and lift them above your head. You do this several times. After all this training, you now feel stronger.

You continue your training with Shelur, this time outside, in the courtyard. Today Shelur want you to work on maintaining the link as long as you can, So you can get used to the feeling. She told you to not worry about fainting, she here for you. You manifest your two guardians again. This time you try to keep them here as long as you can. When they appear, the wolf howl, and slowly come to your side, the darkness go for Shelur, and smell her, before coming back to you. Thank to your newfound strength and endurance, you're able to stay focused, and manage to keep them here for a whole MINUTE. But then it's too much, you feel weak, and collapse on the ground, breathing heavily. The guardians disappear, and you lose consciousness as Shelur rush to your side.

You wake up in your bed, clean and in a nightie, with Silviana and Shelur sleeping by your side. You think they took care of you, and you are thankful.

You read the last part of the Book of the Light, and try to learn the last spell. This one is called banishment, it's the same power as your Amulet of heaven, it hurt demons and undead, purging them from the world. There is one small problem though, you have no way to test it. You read the words, focus your power, and a Bright light come from your hand, it lasts for some seconds, then disappear. You think you did good, but you can't really try it out. So you just have to try and try again, and hope you're doing it right.
(You've read all chapters of the book, you know three spells. Ray of Light,Healing, Banishment.)
You try to read the book on flexibility again. You look for more advanced positions. The one you see are more advanced, but you think you can manage, now that you've gained more dexterity. You try some of them, twisting your arms and legs. This is more difficult than you first tough, but still, you think you can do it, one step at a time.
This give you an idea. You look for someone able to read, and maybe translate the book for you. You send teams, looking for scholars able to decipher the strange languages, unfortunately, they found nobody with the required knowledge. Still, you ask them to keep looking, maybe one day you'll find someone.
This week, you decide to sleep with Silviana and Shelur, every night until your husband come back. And as you don't want to leave anyone out of this, you ask your other friends if they want to do it. Except maybe Dillon, this could be too much for him. Irene was

You explain that they are about to start trouble and that you want to treat all three faith the same, but if these Knights kill your citizens or harm them in any way, then you'll have to remove them by force and put some form of penalization on the faith of the light. The Cardinal reply that even if they worship the Light, they are a military order, with a Grand master, and they aren't under the control of the church. He's still going to try and talk with them.

They are reluctant at first, they don't think the kids will stay focused on the job, some of the craftsmen even believe they'll take this opportunity to steal from them. You manage to convince them in the end.
You also offer something to the kids, you explain that when they get old and skilled enough, you will finance them, so they'll be able to open their own workshop. A lot of them accept, happy that the beautiful Empress give them a chance for a better life.

You hire more of the prostitutes as maids for the Castle Staff for the upcoming feast. They are happy to have a more secure job, and a stable income, even if it's less than what they got back on the streets. You also open some sickhouses for the other, so they can work as nurses to help the doctors. All in all, thank to your work, there is no longer any prostitutes in the streets. This give you another ideas, and you start the construction of a Clinic in Drack's Keep.

As you ask if everything is ready, a guard come to you, bow, and tell you the King and Queen of Ordamark are here. You are overjoyed, and go meet them. And indeed, your parents are waiting at the entrance of the great hall. When they see you, the smile, and look more at ease.

As you get in front of them, they bow to you, in a rather serious manner.
