We play as Percival Williams (aka, Percy) a Pokémaniac on his journey to become a Professional trainer and find where is he going in life!

Your team so far consists of:
Houndour
Mimikyu
Whismur
Vulpix (Alolan)
Elekid’s Egg (It appears to move occasionally.)

Traveling partners:
Abra

Last time we helped Houndour and his pack and helped disengage a fierce battle between an asshole trainer and the Yellow King.

The Pokémon monarch entrusted us with raising one of his progenies. We had an awkward moment with Eli, visited Grandma’s grave, sparred with Old man Orizaba and he asked us to become Kali’s rival. We also invited Dick to our training session with our father in order to prepare ourselves to challenge the Steel-Gym. Went to check on the hobo and the Pokémon living at the White Room and hanged out with our friends Murkrow, Abra and Meowth.

Percy is suffering from nightmares lately.

You wake up being agitated, today’s nightmare felt more vivid, even though you can’t recall it. Also, it seems like you missed your alarm and overslept a little.
Your team is still asleep, yesterday was pretty tiring considering all that sparring.

It’s currently 9:20 am

They gym opens at 10:00 am, it’s located near the industrial park of North pass city. It should take you around 20 minutes to get there on bike (normally). You and Eli bet on who would get the gym-badge first, winner can request anything from the loser.

But only a little - it's more for comfort than hygiene if we're taking the bike. Going for a bike ride while you're already covered in shit feels terrible, but you're going on a bike ride; you're not going to be fresh as a daisy at the end of it anyway.

You wake up your team for a quick breakfast and hop on the shower and get yourself clean as fast as possible. You also decline Mimikyu's offer to "Wash master's back"

Clothes on your body, Pokéballs in your belt, traveling backpack in your back, mons by your side. Some lunch your mom made currently in your mouth.
You are ready for this.

Before getting on your foldable bike you take a quick look to a list you made shortly before starting your journey. It’s a list of your future objectives, every time you see it, it makes you feel determined.

All those years of running around the city and playing with your Pokémon pals have given you some considerable stamina. You are not ripped by any measure, you are a scrawny 15-year-old boy, but your legs don’t give up easily.

You ride like the wind, and luckily there’s not much traffic today. You get to the industrial park in no time! Before anyone really, the only one here is Eli who seems to have arrived way too early. She’s sitting by the doors of the building, asleep.

The place is considerably big, the building is twelve stories tall, but only the 3 last floors are dedicated to the gym. Oh, seems like the doors are opening soon!

>Look for any alternate means to get inside the gym.

Looking through, the glass door you can see the lobby, there are various elevators labeled “employees only”, and a single door labeled “For challengers” that seems to lead to some stairs.

A stern looking office-lady is sitting on a desk, behind it there’s another elevator that simply reads “Invitation only.”

You have some time to spare to check out if there’s any other ways to get inside the gym. To the side of the building there’s an employee’s only entrance guarded by some uniformed men.
At the back, there’s an old metal ladder that leads to one of the upper floors. It seems to be unguarded.

You go to Eli to wake her up, you feel that otherwise the competition wouldn’t be fair. You try calling her attention to no avail. You consider nudging her, but you kind of still feel awkward from last night, besides she seems really tired
So, you have Whismur wake her.

The Pink Pokémon let’s out a screech just loud enough to erase any trace of sleepiness from the punkish girl.

Eli: Dude! Why didn’t you wake me up yourself? My head’s ringing. Agh

Percy: Sorry, you seemed to be sleeping pretty heavily. You ok?

Eli: Yeah, just some dumb stuff happened last night. Anyways, Aren’t you a gentleman?

Percy: I Just wanted to make it fair, victory is more satisfying that way

Eli: (Snickers) Getting cocky weirdo?

Seems like the doors finally opened to the public. They probably just don’t want you two loitering around anymore. As soon as the glass doors open Eli hurries to the stairs.

Eli: I’ll make you regret waking me up! You’ve wasted your chance Percy!

>Take the stairs.

You are a Pokémon trainer, just like everybody else challenging this Gym. You'll take it on as it was intended!

You make your way to flight of stairs.
It's pretty long,pretty damn long.

You finally arrive to the upper floors, you are behind Eli by a couple of meters.

The stairs end in a hallway that lead to two doors.

You can hear voices and murmurs from one, while on the other there's machinery and mechanic sounds. You aren't sure which one Eli choose.

All those voices are probably trainers, chances are that if you take that route you’ll be subjected to a bunch of Pokémon battles.

So, you opt for the other option.

You open the door to the sight of tons of conveyor belts running around, escalators and moving platforms. At some of the platforms, as well as the ends of some escalators there’s workers holding Pokéballs. There’s locked metal door with no current ways of getting in.
Also, at the ends of the conveyor belts as well as at the moving platforms there’s red, blue and green colored interrupters, they seem to be labeled with numbers valued from 0 to 9.

It’s a puzzle.

The moment you enter an Office lady asks for your Trainer License, she’s scans it to confirm its authenticity and to inform the workers that you currently have no badges, so they’ll adjust the difficulty of their challenges.

It's a color puzzle. We take the wrong route we have to fight a worker. I'm guessing we have to hit the 3 colors in a correct order to light up the 0-9

I'm thinking shortest wavelength to longest. Or vice versa so 50/50 shot.
Red, green, blue for long to short
Blue, green, red ror short to long.

Or it's a color mixing puzzle. Where we have to get 9 colors by mixing them. But I'm more confident in my former guess.

You decide to take your time to tackle this problem in the most effective manner. Trying to see if there's any way to tell if the interrupters are linked to something in particular.

It could be easier to concentrate on the matter if there wasn't that music playing.

I gave mine.

Could also be that we could just pull the interrupter by number order going up.
Red 0 then green 0 then blue 0
Red 1 then green 1...etc.
If that doesn't work then we could vice versa it.
>>
>>2908017

Let's see, three colors, numbers from 0-9...
Maybe it could be something like turning all of them to the same color, what would be the optimal way of doing that? Or maybe the colors are just a distraction and I need to turn them in numerical order. Do the colors matter? some of them skip numbers without rhyme or reason, is there a pattern I'm not seeing?

And that damn music from Pokémon battling simulator 98 isn't helping!

At least Whismur seems to like it, humming alongside the tune. I wonder why did the gym leader wanted to use the old version instead of a more recent one. I mean it's nostalgic and all but...

Battling simulator 98, red, green and blue buttons.

Oh, I get it

You look at the buttons, the only button with a 9 is a red one, while the only one with an 8 is a blue one. It’s just a matter of pressing both buttons, and if you are right it shouldn’t take more than two battles!

Wait, are we talking international release or the original release in the Kanto region? Oh, a green button is the only one with a six on it. That's still only 2 battles. The worker closer to you and the one in a platform that's constantly moving.

You go to the one guarding the red interruptor with a 9 on it. Seems like he has only 1 Pokéball.

This makes the worker visibly nervous.

He instructs Klefki to use Flash cannon and keep his distance from Houndour.

Whismur is almost at the edge of the platform, draggin Honedge along, if she keeps it up you could end this in a ring out.

The steel/ghost type, still confused, keeps trying to get himself out of Whismur's grasp by flailing its body wildly.

Just in case, you command Whismur to keep using Astonish in case the Honedge tries anything with the cloth he uses as a limb.

While Whismur keeps moving to the edge of the platform, the steel type tries to "Slash" at Whismur, putting all of it's weight into it, but ends up bashing itself into the ground with way too much force

>Honedge hurt itself in its confusion.

Even though he missed Whismur he managed to burrow a part of his body onto the platform, and it's trying to remain unmovable by Whismur.

When your Pokémon tries to apply more force so she can keep dragging the Honedge the steel type tries to get her with it's cloth, in an attempt to wrap itself on Whismur and weaken her with it's life draining properties. But his movements are sloppy.

Honedge tries to wrap around Whsimur right arm, your mon lets her left arm free to fend off Honedge attempts using Astonish. The steel type tries to move as fast as possible to not let Whismur any breathing space, but because of his confused state he sometimes misses your mon, giving Whismur an opportunity to deliver a particularly strong Astonish to Honedge body.

Honedge flinches! For a moment he's unresponsive, his condition looks pretty bad too. Compared to Whismur who has not been hurt throughout this bout.

In the second Honedge flinches, Whismur lifts him over her head and with a battle scream hurls him to the ground with all the strength of her little arms. The steel type doesn't even get a chance to react.

He flies across the room, barely avoiding the conveyor belts, and finds himself embedded deeply into the floor below all the mechanisms. He tries to get out with no avail

Eh. Whismur lacks Mimikyu and Houndour's experience, but she's been doing really well in her training, so I doubt she loses out in stats. She was apparently some sort of escaped lab Pokemon as well, so she was probably pretty high spec in that area to start with.
>>
You spray Houndour with a POTION to heal his injuries, the Pokémon rubs the medicine onto his head his paw, where the Togedemaru hit him earlier. He is almost at his optimal state.

It would be good to try and make that makeshift collar before facing the gym leader. Using only some rope and trying to not waste too much time you struggle but finally make something at least “wearable”.

[Vulpix]: That looks awful trainer, I wouldn’t wear that even if you begged

[Mimikyu]: Don’t insult Master’s craftmanship! Still, you certainly could improve it with some more time.

[Houndour]: Who cares about that? As long as it works it’s good enough for me

[Vulpix]: You should care more about your appearance Houndour, a female takes pride on a good looking mate

[Houndour]: Shut it “Ice-cream”.

>You equipped Houndur with the Charcoal!

Also, there’s still four workers who you didn’t even challenged. They aren’t obligatory battles, but you can’t pass on some battle experience.

Percy: Hey Vulpix, you up for some battles?

Vulpix; Pfft, obviously trainer. Just get me to them and I’ll freeze their asses!
>Quick battles!

Vulpix faces off against a Ferroseed and a Shieldon!

The battle against Ferroseed it’s a long winded one, with it’s tough defenses the Ferroseed tanks Vulpix attacks. But your Pokémon doesn’t relent and keeps wearing him down! The Ferroseed tries to take advantage of his typing and keeps attacking Vulpix with “Iron Claws” but your mon’s speed is superior and manages to win the battle without much damage. Just a little tired!

The problem was with the Shieldon, who even after being confused and his strength was lowered thanks to “Baby-Doll eyes”, endured Vulpix’s barrage of attack thanks to his defenses and typing. Taking advantage of the now tired Vulpix the Shieldon lowered its defenses with “Metal sound” and in his next chance rammed Vulpix using Iron head! Vulpix was almost down for the count. She managed to provoke him and made the Rock/steel type fall from the moving platform where they battled.

>Vulpix gained a considerable amount of Experience!

You decide to let Vulpix get some well deserved rest, she handled her own pretty decently. There's still some way to go but she's decided to catch up as soon as possible.

You go through the iron doors. There’s a little hallway that leads to a single door with a metal plaque that reads “Gym leader M.Horikoshi”. You can hear the sounds of battling before the door. Seems like he is busy.

After a minute or so the sounds of battle die out. The door opens, a punkish girl with Pink hair stands before you, grinning confidently. In her left arm an unconscious Trubbish rests. She extends her right arm to you in a quick manner, she’s holding a small badge in her fingers.

Eli: Suck it weirdo!

Percy: …Is that your request?

Eli:No!

Percy: Hehe, just messing with you.. (you weren’t)

Eli:The guy definitely has a stick up his ass, but we showed him who’s boss, right team?

[Tremor]: Right on! He’s just a pushover. (The croc confirms in a smug manner)

[Jaws]: I CAN’T FEEL MY FUCKING LEGS

Avenger the Trubbish is knocked out,

Eli:Welp, gotta make a quick stop to a Pokémon center. See you later Slowpoke, don’t make me wait too much!

The girl exits to another door. She seemed pretty happy.
……………………….
You enter the room, is an ample office like space with a huge window that lets you view North-pass city. At the end of the room there’s a serious looking man sitting on his desk, typing furiously on a computer while reading and signing different papers. He has an unchanging facial expression.

Between you and him there’s a standard battling arena.

The man starts to talk without diverting his eyes from his work.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Percival Williams

[Gym-Leader Michael]: 15 years of age, first Gym-challenge, winner of the Rookie trainer. Nicknamed “Arsonist”

[Gym-Leader Michael]: You have 5 minutes to defeat me in battle. You are allowed to use any number of Pokémon you see fit. I'll battle using three.

He finally stops his work, getting up from his desk and looking directly at you

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Time is vital for productivity, don’t let mine go to waste.

Percy: Keep it up Whismur! Use another Hammer arm!

Your Pokémon nods, she’s currently way slower than Magnemite thanks to her status condition, and the use of Hammer Arm bringing her speed down, but if she waits for the correct moment she should land the hit with no problem.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Volt Switch.

Or maybe not.

The Magnemite starts spinning its magnets around forming orb of electricity.

The Magnemite shoots the shocking obrs of thunder to Whismur.

The Magnemite returns to it's ball as soon as his atack is finished. The gym-leader sends out a Bronzor holding some "leftovers" with it's psychic powers.

Another Earthquake hits Houndour fully! The arena is starting to ger more and more cracks as the fight goes on. Your mon is down to one fourth of its health, but he’s getting used to the Earthquakes, he is still taking damage but he is not letting them keep him on the ground for long, getting back up and racing towards the Bronzor. You can see the effort in his expression trying to accelerate while his legs move slowly through the arena.

The flames flies and hit Bronzor fully! He’s engulfed in the flamethrower for some seconds but manages to get away in time before he’s defeated. Bronzor seems to be in an almost critical condition! A well-placed hit would surely finish him off.

Good Shit
We counter Bronzor's shit trap room
>>
So, shall we take advantage of the gap when he sends out his next Pokémon to feed Whismur a potion, do you think? Want to change her approach as well, I think.

I don't think that's legal. It would count as a turn,

Bronzor seems to be preparing a “Future Sight”! But Whismur moves way too fast, you barely can keep track of her before she hit’s Bronzor and sends him crashing through a wall. A bit overkill but it gets the job done.

>Bronzor is knocked out!

The gym leader sends his next Pokémon, another Bronzor holding a twisted spoon.

The energy walls surrounding the arena start to dissipate quickly.

Whismur’s at too much of a disadvantage right now, with paralyzation and the debuff affecting her.

Whismur is currently at a disadvantage because of her paralysis, it would be better to switch her out for someone who hasn't seen much action today.
Percy: Let’s go Mimikyu!

Mimikyu starts moving around the arena fast enough to surround Bronzor with dozens of afterimages.
Even with its ludicrous speed Bronzor managed to get a hit in thanks to “Feint Attack” “Unavoidable” property. But Mimikyu’s “Disguise” takes the hit for him!

Mimikyu’s afterimages continue circling Bronzor without the problem. The steel type seems to be preparing his next attack.

Mimikyu has the obvious speed advantage, evading and countering with Shadow Sneak shouldn't be a problem.

It could save Mimikyu some reaction time if he kept spamming Shadow Sneak and evading.
Or you could plan this battle through every move.

Meanwhile, Bronzor starts rocking back and forth preparing for his next attack.

Master is behind you, the moment those strange walls of light appeared he became worried.
This battle has been a long one, but your opponent still stands.
Now he has taken from you the one thing you are useful for.
Your speed.
You are disappointing master.
You are disappointing your teammates.
You are disappointing yourself.
How could Froslass stand a Pokémon such as you?
Just a week ago you were trapped on that doll, nearing demise.

The Magnemite tries to retaliate, but it’s once again hit by Mimikyu’s shadow, this time the damage isn’t as great as the previous ones. The Magnemite takes advantage of his increased speed and attacks Mimikyu with “Magnet Bomb” the steel type produces strange black orbs that fly straight to your mon.

Percy answers the questions as truthfully as he cans, it’s a good gym overall but it still has room for improvement.
You hand the sheet of paper to serious looking man

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Thanks for your input

He answers in his usual deadpan manner, you aren’t sure if he’s acting like this deliberately or if it is his normal expression. He glances over the piece of paper.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Better polish the strategies of the workers and change the puzzle to focus on a more logical solution. I'll run the planned variations with the next trainers.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: You’ve earned this

>The Gym Leader hands you the “Industrious badge”

[Gym-Leader Michael]: I wanted to test your capabilities as a trainer with other Pokémon besides your perceived “Ace” Houndour, and present a challenge accordingly to the winner of the Rookie Tournament

[Gym-Leader Michael]: But the overall prowess of your team seems more than adequate, including your actions as a Rookie trainer

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Keeping up a strategy that works in order to maximize the damage output isn’t a bad strategy. But, you could have done it in a more effective way.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: It’s customary that I offer a Steel Type TM to Trainers that manage to beat the gym in a satisfactory manner. Gyro Ball or Flash Cannon depending on the perceived battle strategies of the trainer. But as a Trainer myself, my professional opinion is that your evasive strategies could be more effective with a damaging status move.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: It’s been a pleasure to battle with you.

He offers you a handshake, he puts a lot of force on it. He presses a button that seems to be the switch to the intercom.

[Gym-Leader Michael]: Next!

While you make way to the exit, you can hear what you guess is the “Invite only” elevator stopping on the floor. A familiar blonde girl comes out of the metal doors. You stare at her for a moment.

Kali: What? I got connections

Without wasting more time, you return to the lobby, and damn. This place is packed! There’s like fifty trainers waiting for a chance to battle the gym leader. Most of them seem like complete rookies, while there’s a couple of more experienced trainers sprinkled there and there.
Dick seems to be formed in line, reviewing his “battle plan” with his team, while trying to get Alexandro to listen him and stop playing vidya.
There are various familiar faces from the Rookie tournament, and some of them recognize you. You can hear them whispering things about “The Arsonist” and his “dreaded Houndour”.
There’s a tanned girl in a strange military styled garment, handing flyers to the trainers in line. She seems familiar. When she takes notice of you she starts waving excitedly.

You decide that saying hi to the girl who’s been on the news lately for a massive case of “Poké-napping” isn’t a bad idea.
Just in case, you tell MImikyu to stay close security in case anything happens.

When Aleida sees you come near her, her face just beams with happiness.

Then she drops to the floor, puts a completely blank expression and starts flapping around. Similar to a Magikarp who’s just been reeled in

[Aleida]: Hey Percy! What time it is?

The onlookers look really worried to her

Percy: Half past eleven?

She stands up and goes directly to you, grabbing one of your arms, she starts to bark excitedly.

[Aleida]: Yes! You even speak Magikarp! You are the real deal! By the Ancient Dragons! I have so much to tell you!

[Aleida]: Oh, and have this!

She hands you a flyer, it reads “Join the Aztlan’s southern revolution front today! For a free and just republic to man and mons!” It has a stylized depiction of Deino in it, kind of reminds you of Propaganda.

[Aleida]: My superiors told me I should recruit more human, so we can assign them some Pokémon partners! Cause we have too many of the mons, even though I know there’s many Pokémon out there that need our help.

[Aleida]: But that’s why we are building more bases! So, have you decided to join us?

Wow, she doesn’t mind personal space. Too close

Her smile drops to an expression of genuine sadness

[Aleida]: But I must respect your decision! We are fighting for a free and just Aztlan after all! Even if my superiors are too insitent with the matter of recruiting you

Sorry guys, gotta get some food in me

Will be back soon, in the meantime. It may be good to come up with a training regimen for your team.

The next gym you are headed too is a "Ground-Type" gym. There's not much in regards of training facilities in Ibarra Village, but ferocious mons dwell on the harsh desert sorrounding it

And there's a set of ruins that various Pokémon have claimed as a home.

Percy: Maybe? It’s kind of complicated. Honestly, I want to know more about this “ability” and having someone to talk with, who’s the same as me couldn’t be bad. But, there’s no way I’m joining the revolution.

The girl gives you disheartened look, followed by an understanding smile
[Aleida]: I guess that’s a start! Sorry, I kind of got too excited after finally meeting someone like me. It’s normal that you don’t trust me. Humans aren’t particularly trustworthy creatures after all!

She scribbles her contact info on the flyer she handed to you.

[Aleida]: I hope we can get along! Maybe I won’t change your mind before the revolution starts, but that doesn’t mean we can get along in the meantime, right?

You say goodbye to the girl and head to the nearest Pokémon center. They are sustained by taxes, so their services are free. Still, the healing machines can only cure physical injuries that aren’t too grave and status condition. For more severe complications, or actual illness you should go instead to the Public Health Center, or with a professional Pokémon veterinarian.

You still have some time to kill, Eli texted you saying she went back home to finish packing. Your parents are currently at work, they said they would take an hour off to see you off.

You consider going to the Mega-mart one last time to get an incubator and maybe some item for your mons.

But damn, they look dead exhausted. Specially Houndour and Mimikyu. Vulpix is also tired from fighting while wearing the Macho Brace. Whismur is the most energetic one of the bunch.

You sit on one of the rest areas located at the gym, dropping on one of the long couches. Your Pokémon follow, Whismur gets comfortable on your lap while Mimikyu stands guard by your side. Houndour rests on the floor with Vulpix by his side. He would usually tell her to move as she is too cold for comfort but right now he’s too tired for that.

Percy: So, how did you like the gym? First one down, seven more to go!
[Houndour]: It was a challenge. I start to see why the Leader wanted me to go in this journey. It will just be harder from now on huh?
[Mimikyu]: My body felt exhausted, but I’m glad I brought victory and respect to Master. But now I need rest, so I may be useful once again.
[Whismur]: I hope I can have more fights like that! Those moving thingies where Houndour fought looked really fun!
[Vulpix]: You didn’t even bring me out when the strongest Pokémon came up! What gives? Next time make sure I’m strong enough to steal the show! Wait, seven?
[Whismur]: We should train together Sis-Vulpix! I can help you out with your Ice beam!
[Vulpix]: Like I need your help! I’m the eldest of the two!
[Mimikyu]: But Whismur has been serving under Master longer. She has more agency.

Your mons discusses their ranks among them. Who has been the MVP by far?

Percy has a couple of options in this regard.

>His maternal grandparents house.
They have some lands, not many but spacious enough to house some Pokémon. Your mother's and father's team cycle between being there and being with your parents.

Your Pokémon's will probably bond with the other mons and with a whoever lives there at the time

You muse about it for a second. Your Pokémon are pretty close to one another in terms of strength (besides Vulpix), but objectively speaking, Houndour is the one with the most accomplishments, besides he's one of the oldest of the bunch, and was already a 2nd in command in his pack.

Houndour let’s out an unintentional smirk. He seems to take certain pride on this fact. Even though he doesn’t want to show it too much.

Whismur congratulates Bro-Houndour, she really looks up to him.

Mimikyu promises to work even harder next time. He must not fall behind his teammates! Especially Houndour who’s still not fully committed to the team. Seems like a certain rivalry is going between them. (He's a little salty)

Vulpix tells him to not get too conceited, she’ll take that title for herself as fast as possible.

A familiar face enters the Pokémon center. A young man older than you, accompanied by a Pikachu wearing a ballerina outfit and a Pink bow on her head.

He goes to heal his team and notices you sitting on the couch. He’s the guy you met at the factory.

[Asshole-Trainer]: You are that kid from the other day!

[Asshole-Trainer]: You know? You’ve saved me a lot of time. This Elektross is pretty great, can’t believe someone actually traded their Eelektrik for an Eevee. I mean, it’s cute and all. But there are cuter Kantonian mons.

[Pikachu]: Like me, I’m the cutest, obviously

[Asshole-Trainer]: Besides it couldn’t battle for shit. Caught in on a whim to see if I could evolve it into something useful but It ended taking space on the PC

[Asshole-Trainer]: Ah right, father told me to give you this if I found you again. Not sure why, you don’t look like anything special to be honest.

The blonde douche hands you a business card.

"Blackstone Enterprises. E. Blackstone" Followed by a phone number.

[Asshole-Trainer]: He said to call that number if you wanted some work experience or help to get into college.

[Asshole-Trainer]: So that’s your current team huh? Want to help me train this electric beast? Could use some targets.

Interesting that his dad knows about us and all.

Aside from that, we can probably take a good guess that he's Dick's brother at this point (His father E. Blackstone?), he probably heard the same rumors we did about Electivire, and everyone's probably too tired to train anyway.

Percy: Can I ask you something? By any chance do you know Dick?
[Asshole Trainer]: Say that again?

Percy: Richard Blackstone! Blonde, wears fancy clothes, has a Shiny Bagon with Ego issues and sick dance moves?

[Asshole Trainer]: You know the little shit? Haha! And here I thought the horndog only chased little miss “Parental neglect” around, good to see him make some friends on his “level”

[Asshole Trainer]: Unfortunately, I know him too well, we are related after all. I’m Maximilliam Blackstone. Richard’s brother.

[Maximilliam]: Honestly can’t wait to see him inevitably fuck up on his journey. Then I won’t have to deal with his presence at home anymore. Well, if you aren’t going to help me train I’m going back to hit all the Flying types nearby. See ya.

What an ass.

…………………………………………
Time passes rather quickly. Vulpix has challenged Whismur to a series of (non-battling) competences to determine who’s the “bigger-sis”, including racing around the center, who’s better at playing cards, knowledge of “adult stuff”, who can hold their breath the longest. Honestly, they are just doing whatever Vulpix comes up with. Mimikyu acts as an impartial judge. He still gives the win to Whismur.

Abra shortly joins you. He was busy preparing his stuff for the travels, he took too much time choosing which Knife to take. He took his switchblade.

The hour draws near to meet Eli at the bus station. Your mons and you are already refreshed!

You get to the bus-station rather quickly. Your parents, sister and Mr.snob are here to wish you good luck on your travels. As well as Murkrow and Meowth. Eli’s father managed to come say goodbye to her daughter.

[Dad]: Make me proud son! Like you always do. And most of all, have fun!

[Mom]: Have a safe journey Percy. Emphasis on “safe”

[Sis]: Take care bro! don’t screw up too much!

[Mr.Snob] Your bed is mine now!!
[Murkow]: Hope we see you again soon Percy!
[Meowth]: Bring stuff from your travels!

The bus is ready to leave, you and the punkish girl make your way inside. Getting to the “Whistling Desert” will take about two hours on bus. Then, you’ll have to find a way to get to the center of it to arrive at Ibarra Village where the Ground Gym is located.

Eli: You ready?

Sitting in a big-ass pick up truck Percy finds himself messing with the radio. Dick is behind the wheel, sporting some shades he bought partly to cover his eyes and mostly because he thought they seemed cool.

You got matching pairs.

After winning a match of rock-paper-scissors against the shiny Bagon you got the right to ride shotgun. Peeking though the windows you can see the scarce vegetation that adorn the mounds and hills of the Northern part of Aztlan become less and less frequent as you get closer to the Whistling Desert.

Percy: You know what?

Dick: The shades are a bit too much?

Percy: Nah, they are cool. It’s just, we don’t need them. Those girls.

Dick: Speak for yourself Percival, I haven’t given up. Just taking a strategic break.

Percy: No dude! I mean, look at you! You got this sweet ride and weren’t even that weird asking her if she would like to tag along, but she didn’t even think twice before saying no!

Percy: And I haven’t given up on anything! I wasn’t even trying anything!
Dick: You asked her if she would wear a Lopunny cosplay, and called her a “hot pieces of ass” in front of her father.

Percy:That’s not how it went! You are glossing over crucial details!

Dick: That’s exactly what happened, no matter how you put it.

Percy:Whatever, changing the subject. We are going directly to Ibarra Village?

Dick:That’s the plan, why?

Percy:It’s nothing, I kind of wished to explore the desert a little. The truck kind of steals away some of the sense of adventure.

Dick:Well, you can go get lost in the sand once we arrive. I’ll be waiting for you at the ruins, or maybe finding some nice place to eat.

Percy: Haha, you won’t take the chance to leave me behind?

Dick:Why would I? We are partners after all. I need you around in case a giant hostile mon tries to eat me. If your weird poke-talking fails, you could serve as bait.

Percy:Honest as always huh?

Dick:You know me Percy.

You both laugh, it may sound a little crude, but that’s just how he is. Alexandro the Bagon teaches Whismur the basics of fighting Vidya to keep himself entertained, he tried to so with Zoroaster the Ralts first, but he sucks at it.

End.

> Growlithe has two trainers / "Go raise your own Pokémon!" (A what if)

Percival finds himself at the front yard of Orizaba’s house. Lately he’s been spending a lot of time here. He just got back from taking Growlithe for a stroll at the park, invited him to eat out with his team, you finally made sure he got some more rest before his trainer returned.

At least she makes sure to keep him clean, his abundant fur dirties easily.

[Growlithe]: Shouldn’t I go back to training? I must fight the Gym leader on Monday.
Percy: Relax Growlithe, you’ve been training non-stop these days, you deserve to take it easy once in a while.
[Growlithe]: But Master said…

Percy: I know what Kali said and I disagree. You are a good mon Growlithe, but Alexandro IS pretty strong, there’s no shame in losing to him.

You tell the fire type to just kick back and relax for a while, try and socialize a little with your team. They are sparring partners after all. He should have a couple of hours left, Kali went out with her friends to the mall, or to a trendy café or to whatever teenage girls do in their free time.

Or so you thought.

Kali: Hey Growlithe! No slacking off on my watch! Get back to training!

As soon as the Fire type hears the girl he goes to pick up his Macho Brace and tries to strap it on himself. You help the little guy out.

The angered girl gets in front of you, she’s pissed.

Kali: And you! We were supposed to train together once I came back! What’s this raising a girl´s Pokémon behind her back deal?

Percy: I’m just making sure he takes his time to rest and help him socialize a little!

Kali:He gets plenty of rest! I make sure he gets his 8 hours of sleeps, and he socializes enough!

Percy:Sleep isn’t enough! There’s nothing bad with relaxing a little, and he doesn’t! You just take him out to beat wild Pokémon and dress him up so your cronies can take pictures of him!

Kali:Oh, Sorry mister “I know everything about Pokémon” that my raising methods don’t match your stupid standards!

Percy:Hey there’s no need to get aggressive here!

Kali: Says the pacifist screaming to a girl!

Percy:I just want the best for Growlithe!

Kali: I know what’s best for him! He’s not even your Pokémon!

Percy: No! But I still care about him!

Kali: You know? I like it when you get so passionate about Pokémon

Percy:Don’t try to use your “Sex appeal”, it won’t work this time

Kali: (Giggles) you sure about that?

Percy:Yes! I’m sure! And stop getting so close!

[Growlithe]: Please stop…

Things devolved into a shouting match, then some indecent remarks, followed by a Pokémon battle, and then asking Growlithe who’s his favorite trainer.

Just another day.

End.

Your team!
>Whismur
Wonders if she could make a hole on the bus if she hit it hard enough. She won’t do it since she is aware it would be very rude and troublesome. Has been craving some snacks lately. Saw Avenger’s drawing, wanted to ask him if he could draw her but was too shy to do so.
>Vulpix
Thinking of ways to one-up Whismur and gain more recognition by her teammates. Trying to develop her “Extrasensory” in some form of Telekinesis. Considers asking Abra for help but she’s too prideful for that.
>Houndour
Was feeling pretty content with himself. But he feels a need to get stronger, remembering his close call against Ankhati the Cacnea, and how Whismur managed to beat him and Alexandro by herself. Won’t admit it but he wants his “little sis” to keep looking up to him.
>Mimikyu
Still a little salty that he isn’t Master num#1 mon. Asked for your help to look up some simple recipes he could prepare on the road. Been on the lookout after a certain trainer on the bus who’s been glaring at Percy since he went to the Pokémon center.
>Egg
Moves occasionally.

Traveling partners!
>Abra
Tries to teleport inside and outside his Pokéball, hasn’t been successful at it. Trying to get a better understanding at “human language”.
>Eli
Seems very tired, she didn’t get much sleep last night. Lately she’s been talking with Kali quite frequently. Quite excited to use her “reward” when the time’s right.

>Jaws
Still recovering from his bout at the gym. Chewing on a big bone, it’s not one of the store-bought ones made for Pokémon. Seems like he got it himself.
He was badly paralyzed at the gym and the “Trick Room” kind of messed up his perception of his own movement. Currently recovering the mobility on his legs.

>Tremor
Made fun of his teammates for having so much trouble at the Gym. Was trying to scare Jaws telling him he would be paralyzed by the waist down permanently, got a water gun to the face. Eli told them to knock it off or they would go in their ball.

>Avenger
Brought color pencils and a notebook so he could keep himself entertained drawing, he gets lost in thought looking at the clouds. Told Jaws to not worry, even if his legs wouldn’t work they could get him a wheelchair, he’ll push him around in battle.
Trying to draw a picture of his trainer but he feels his art is inadequate.

Others!

>Kali
Wanted to get out of town as soon as possible but was stopped by a surprise “farewell party”. After that CG. Orizaba wanted to accompany her to the station but they got into an argument. Is currently being followed by Haunter but she’s unaware of it.

>Growlithe
Not used to the attention Kali’s friends give to him. Still in bad-terms with his new teammate. “Stupid bird who can’t fly”. Wishes he could be a little closer to his trainer.
>Electivire
Hopes his plans come to fruition.

>CG. Orizaba
Still worried about his granddaughters. Relieved by the fact that he now can dedicate more fully to commanding the Capture and Defense Forces. Even though thinking he will return to being alone brings him down, just a little.

>Dick
Getting his new ride ready so he can start his journey. Still thinking how to approach Kali. Looking to get his hands in a dawn stone. He just wanted to get this journey over, so he could return home, but lately he’s been enjoying himself. Thinking of challenging to a rematch soon.

>Alexandro
Isn’t allowed to try and drive again. Was a bit disappointed after finding out Zoroaster the Ralts is a male. He’s been on the lookout for “Choice potential mates”, still trying different genres of Vidya, lately he’s been engrossed on fighting games and the “grand-strategy” genre.

>Ankhati
Asked Dick for some more TMs before they leave. Has appointed Zoroaster the Ralts as his personal assistant. Enjoys having some power over the newbie.

>Zoroaster the Ralts
Still bitter about the Kirlia, has become Dick’s confident and vice-versa, even though they don’t fully understand one another. Has shown some curiosity on the games “Boss” plays, especially the ones with all the “Pretty ladies”

>Aleida
Tried to convince her superiors that your Pokémon talking abilities weren’t real, and that assumption was a mistake on her part.
She sucks at lying.
Got punished with taking care of “cleaning duties”, even though she’s a high-ranked commander.
>Maximilan
Training up his Elektross for his fight against his rival “Stephen” in a week. He’s fully dedicated to this, which pains him greatly as he wanted to participate in this week “Pokémon Contest” at North Pass “Great hall”.
Wonders what his father wants with you.

Well that's a tad ominous.

Hm, curious what Kali got. Doduo maybe? Psyduck? Torchic?

>Electivire: Hopes his plans come to fruition.

That's also rather ominous.

>Alexandro: Still trying different genres of Vidya, lately he’s been engrossed in fighting games and the “grand-strategy” genre.

Continues to have Patrician tastes.

>Aleida: Got punished with taking care of “cleaning duties”, even though she’s a high-ranked commander.

Who in their right mind would put her in charge of anything? Well, she at least earned some points in my book for trying to cover for us, even if she failed miserably.

Who could this be?
>Tries to teleport inside and outside his Pokéball, hasn’t been successful at it.
How the fuck do these even work? Do Pokeballs convert Pokemon into data for PC/Storage reasons, then reconverts data into mons? Almost reminds me of Shin Megami Tensei with COMPs and demon summoning through data and automated rituals.
>Quite excited to use her “reward” when the time’s right.

covering for Percy is nice and all, but her cause is really retarded
at some point on the journey, we're gonna have to confront her on this
>>
>>2922596
It's also pretty retarded that they give such a high rank to the girl the same age as Percy. Even with poketalk, Must be a fake title, just to make her feel good, since they're most likely using her for their own gains.
>>
>>2922577
She's a retard that bought into a commie meme and is paying the consequences for it.

This
>>
>>2922596
It's kind of funny how bad she is at her own goals. Her argument was that the new trainers didn't deserve Pokemon they couldn't communicate with, but instead of helping with that like Percy had done, she convinced them to leave and be assigned to other people who have made even LESS of an effort than rookie trainers.

She's actively making their lot worse by taking them.

Communism and the people who support it are fucking retarded. What else is new?
>>

Better dead then red. We should see if we can teach Eli how to talk to her mons. Be better at her game than she is. It's probably what she's going to use her reward for anyway.

Though we'll probably get some shit from people hearing us telling her to get on all fours and act submissive
>>
>>2923605
Percy will gladly teach her, if it includes getting on all fours. He's just got to keep his boner in check.
>>
>>2923689
I'd like to think he gets weirdly serious while teaching. Plus I'd find it funnier if she was trying to tease him while doing it but Percy ain't having none of it.
>>
>>2923738
She puts on Houndour ears while training to really show she's "serious" about training her poketalk.
>>
>>2924100

Can pokespeak even be taught to other people just like that?
Between Percy and Commie girl, it seems to be a rarity among rarities, doubt there's even someone out there that teaches it so it might be a hereditary knack.
If it can be taught, why the fuck is commie girl out in the field recruiting rather than teaching the people? I know communists are retarded but this is a clear mismanagement of their resources, especially when they've shown interest in Percy for his pokespeak ability: why bother when they could just create their own pokespeakers with Aleida's help, unless not everyone can actually do it and it's less of a skill and more of an ability as >>2920232 seems to imply
>>
>>2926954
I doubt the thought ever crossed the commies mind and no one's asked Percy. It would probably take quite some time to teach and even then it would only apply to certain types of mons. It seems like it's learning a new language except it's a different language per mon. Most people could probably learn a couple but don't care to try.
>>
>>2926954
It seems like it's less a hereditary trait and more a complex language with a wide variety of different dialects. I'd assume it's limited in how many people know it because of the fact that it would probably be much more reliant on body language then any known human language, due to the differences in the vocal capabilities of just about every species of Pokemon, and as such would be extremely hard for a human who didn't grow up around it to learn. It's probably conceivably learnable, but it likely requires extensive exposure from a young age, like in the case of Percy and Aleida, to ever be learned to any complete degree. I'd assume there's quite a lot of overlap between the means of communicating with different species of Pokemon, otherwise I doubt even someone as autistic as Percy would be able to learn how to communicate with every species of Pokemon, but there's probably enough variance in the "Language" between different Pokemon body types to make learning more then one or two dialects as an adult extraordinarily difficult. It's like how children pick up the languages they're frequently exposed to at a young age fairly easily, whereas an adult would likely have much more difficulty.
