Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After spending much of the day after the battle checking up on your allies, naming your twins, acquiring a camel, meeting an immortal and helping Raven face her biggest demon, you began your match with your giant of a friend Ubo. During the fight you’d mixed Camali’s style with the Su Ma, allowing you to hang with Ubo as his strength rose higher and higher. The match culminated in a colossal energy clash, the struggle pushing you to your limits. You’d won the clash of energies, blasting Ubo up and out of the atmosphere. But he wasn’t done yet. Once in space Ubo’s power began to rise even higher before blitzing back to thr planet’s surface, ready to go. As we rejoin Karn, Ubo is making his declaration.

“C’mon Karn.” Ubo says, radiating with power. “Ubo’s just getting started!”
“Damn Ubo, you’ve been holding out on me.” you say, your children all leaping back into the stands sd you pull yourself free from the wall, floating back into the ring. “Where’ve you been hiding all this power?”
“Ubo’s power comes from the star.” he says, pointing to the sun. “Ubo feels stronger the closer Ubo gets to it.”
“Amazing.” you say in awe, Ubo’s strength having surpassed your full power. Even with a fraction of New Salda’s strength coursing through your body, and all the training you’ve done over the past several months, Ubo’s still managed to surpass you. You feel a mix of pride in your friend’s new strength, and frustratation that he’s surpassed you as well. Seems you’ll just have to work to get even stronger! But right now, you’re nearly spent “You may be stronger than me, Ubo. But that doesn’t mean I’m giving up yet!”

“You ready to keep fighting?” the giant says, smiling and getting ready to fight you. But he stops when you transform back to your base form with a sigh. “Huh? Are you not gonna fight Ubo?”
“You’re strong, Ubo.” you say, focusing intensely on what you’re about to do. “So strong, after all, that I think you can take it.”

Understanding where you’re going with this, Meloka takes the kids to the top of the arena’s stands. She knows how much destructive power you’re about to unleash, and how little control you have over it. You relax your body in preparation, focusing your mind on those painful memories of the Big Gete Star invasion. You see your daughter’s terrified face again in your mind, feeling your rage building. You focus on that rage, pulling it forth from deep within you and unleash!

“RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” you roar out, power rising as your body begins expanding and changing to accommodate all of this power. You feel your flesh beginning to tear, screaming in agony as your body explodes. The ground crumbles beneath your feet, you roaring out as your transformation finishes. You stand tall, this unstoppable power once again coursing through your veins. You lift a hand, pointing at the man standing defiantly before you. He’s standing as tall as you are, staring you down unafraid. You’ll make him afraid. “You will be first.”

With that you roar, unleashing your near-infinite power. Your energy explodes out from you, you charging the defiant man. You rush headlong at him, swinging a massive fist at his head to knock him down. But surprisingly, your attack doesn’t knock him down. He steps into your hit, blocking your wild haymaker with both forearms. The hit knocks him back a few yards, feet digging two trenches in the ground. You stop upon seeing this, confused. How did he withstand that?

“You’ve gotten stronger.” the wild man says, grinning at you. “But Ubo won’t lose! HAAAAA!!”

He charges back at you, returning your earlier strike back at you. You punch his fist, the massive shockwave blasting you both back and tearing up the arena around you. You land back on your feet, your anger at this man rising. How DARE he try and fight you?! You feel your energy rising, the the rush of power pushing you to destroy him!

“GRRRAAAAAAA!!” you roar, charging headlong at him again. How dare this weakling try and stand up to your power?! You’ll destroy him for that! He shouts and charges at you as well, you both slamming your fists into each other’s again. And again, and again. You and Ubo slam your fists into each other over and over and over, neither of you able to overpower the other. Your power rises as you grow more and more frustrated, how dare this weakling try and beat you?! You strike harder and harder, your strikes becoming sloppier as you get angrier and angrier. But something feels wrong. As you stand talk trading blows, you can’t help but feel that you’re doing something wrong, like your body isn’t moving right. But then it happens. You swing for his head, but he’s not there!

“Wha-?!” you shout in surprise as your fist passes through empty air, your opponent twisting clockwise around your punch. Before you can react to his unexpected movement his right fist slams into your jaw, staggering you. You backpetal a few steps, and before you can fully recover he presses the attack. His heavy fists slam over and over into you, scoring a few dozen hits on you.

Su-Ma

You suddenly remember what that movement was. And, more than that, you remember how to do it as well. His right fist swings for your face, but you don’t take the hit. Much as Ubo had just done, you twist clockwise around his punch, swinging your right fist in a backfist. He blocks that strike with his right arm, you continuing the movement to flip over his head and slam your knee into his face. Your blow stuns him, you launching into a barrage of powerful, crushing blows. Each of your heavy strikes slam into him, you pummeling the fool for daring to face you. Your fists rain down onto him, you ending your attack with a heavy front kick that sends him flying. He crashes into and through the far wall of the arena, disappearing from sight. You cackle madly for a moment, your power rising even higher. But wait, where’d he go?

BOOM

Ubo smashes back through the wall and into the arena, red aura flared up around him. He looks up at you, eyes still glowing bright red.

“Ubo’s not done yet!” he shouts, eyes glowing brighter and brighter. You feel yourself smiling, glad the fight’s not over yet. You charge at him again, but suddenly sense something. You aren’t sure what, but you have to move. You twist through the air, moving just in time to dodge the wave of energy Ubo fires from his eyes. You roll to the right, dodging his wave as you rapidly close the gap between you and him. He ends his blast, trying to defend himself, but it’s far too late. You’ve already closed the distance, now you’ll show him who is the better fighter!

“RAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!” you laughing as you shout out, body remembering the movements of the Su Ma. Your punches and kicks rain down on Ubo from every side, your friend unable to defend against your power. Wait.... Friend? You freeze, memories fighting with Ubo flashing through your mind. This momentary distraction gives Ubo an opening, one of his fists slamming into your face and knocking you back. Caught off-guard, you’re knocked backwards, flipping back and landing on all fours. You slide backwards, hands and feet carving paths through the ground as you slow to a stop. Once stopped you rise back to your feet, wiping the corner of your mouth with the back of your fist. Pulling your hand away, you see an odd, greenish liquid on the back of your... Wait, is that your blood? You feel a surge of murderous rage, your power rising to match your fury. It threatens to overwhelm your senses, but then you hear something.

“GO DADDY! YOU CAN DO IT!” you hear over the rage, looking up and behind Ubo. Is that... Chaya? “C’MON DADDY, YOU’RE THE BESTEST!!”

Suddenly memories of your daughter flood your mind, you clutching your head as you struggle as your rage and the memories of your daughter and family clash in your mind for dominance. Your power keeps rising and rising, attempting to drown your sanity in a sea of mindless rage.

Your power and anger keep rising, threatening to completely overwhelm your sanity. As your ki grows more and more, it becomes harder and harder to control. You try and focus on what the Guardian taught you, controlling your breathing and finding your center. But, that quickly becomes impossible.

“You’re wide open!” you hear, opening your eyes just in time to see Ubo’s fist inches from your face. You have no time to move, no chance to dodge as his fist slams square into your face. For a moment your rage overpowers your senses, your ki exploding out from you in all directions in an Explosive Wave. You knock Ubo back then chase him down, slamming your fist into his gut. You hear your attack wind him, Ubo gasping for air as you grab him by his mane of hair. You lift him off his feet with one hand, then release him. With a massive, bone-crushing uppercut you send him flying, up and out of the arena. You’re about to pursue him, when again you hear her voice.

“YEEEEAAAH!! GOOO DADDY!!” you hear Chaya shouting, you turning your head and seeing her cheering you on. “YOU’RE THE BEST! YOU CAN DO IT!!”

Chaya. Your daughter. She’s watching you, and you can’t disappoint her. But even worse, if you lose control you could hurt her. And you will NOT do that! You again focus your mind, but instead of focusing on your energy you focus on your daughter. Her smile, her laugh, her voice, you focus everything you have on your daughter. It is the most difficult thing you’ve ever done, but soon you feel that overwhelming rage beginning to die down. That overwhelming power fades a bit as well, neither going away. But for this moment, you’re in control. Blinking a few times, you look around, seeing the state the arena is already in from this short battle. Looking around you quickly find Chaya, Meloka, Broly, Chilli and Raven all sitting together. Chaya’s floating a few feet above her seat, cheering you on. You turn to face her, pointing up at her. Meloka looks worriedly down to you, flashing immediately up into her Ascended form. But before she can react further, you smile and turn the pointing into a thumb’s-up. You watch everyone’s eyes widen in surprise, especially Broly’s. But before you can say anything Ubo returns, screaming and flying headlong at you.

“Ubo not done yet!” he shouts, quickly closing in on you.

As he charges in, you realize you can’t really keep yourself under control and fight Ubo at the same time. Or can you? You suddenly get an idea, and it just might work. Ubo closes in faster and faster, you moving quick. You quickly make your Energy Fists, both hands glowing bright green as Ubo swings down at you.

“HAAAAAAAAA!!” you shout, swinging your right energy-clad fist up at Ubo’s incoming punch. Your fists slam into each other, your blast exploding up at Ubo. Your blast knocks him back, the ground cracking beneath your feet as the recoil travels through your body. While Ubo’s off-balance you press the attack, slamming your left Energy Fist into his jaw and knocking him away.

“GOOOO DADDY!!” you hear Chaya cheering hysterically. “GOOOOOOOOOO!!”

You turn back to Chaya and give her another thumbs-up, reenergizing your fists then pursuing Ubo. He recovers as you approach, swinging again at you. You block his strike, lifting your leg up to blocking his punch. The hit sends you back to the ground, landing on your feet as Ubo presses the attack again. But this time, you lean back, dodging his strike. You feel yourself smirk as Ubo’s eyes widen in surprise, him again punching at you. Again you lean back, his fist narrowly missing you. He swings another dozen times, you dodging each one of his strikes. He then switches it up, moving into the movements of the Su Ma.

You quickly learn, however, that this fighting style is inferior to the Su Ma. As Ubo flips, rolls, and spins around you, you’re unable to dodge his attacks in time. He strikes you over and over and over, pummeling you from every side as you try to evade his attacks. As he strikes you over and over and over, you feel your control over your rage slipping as you grow more and more frustrated. You have to change the pace of this battle, now.

“HRRRRRAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, twisting around as Ubo flips over your head. His face is full of shock, jut before you slam your Energy Fist right into it. Your attack stuns him, you unleashing explosive punch after explosive punch into Ubo’s chest and face. You score a good few dozen hits before Ubo howls out, blasting you back with an Explosive Wave as well. His attack sends you sliding back around a dozen feet, you skidding to a stop. You and Ubo stare each other down, you seeing him panting in exhaustion. You know you should probably feel tired, but for some reason you don’t. Your energy, however, is no longer rising, but falling.

“This is it.” you say, flaring your green aura up around you. Ubo flares his red aura up around him as well, debris flying everywhere as you both gather up what’s left of your declining powers. This is it. “I’ll end this now!”
“Ubo won’t lose!” he shouts, you both simultaneously exploding off the ground at each other. This will be the final clash.

“HAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
“GRRRAAAAAA!!!!”

Ubo flies at you, you charging right back at him. He goes for a big right again, you making it seem as if you will as well. But at the last moment you change your move, frontflipping up and over Ubo. He’s caught completely unprepared for your move, you flipping uninterrupted and kicking Ubo in the side of the head. Your hit lands solidly, you taking advantage of his opening and unleashing. You pummel Ubo over and over, your fists and legs crashing into him but it’s not enough. Your strength is dropping faster and faster, Ubo’s strength not dropping nearly as fast as yours is. Your hits keep slowing down, Ubo able to start blocking your hits. You swing at him another dozen or so times, steam beginning to rise off of your body as you feel yourself beginning to shrink back to normal. Ubo seizes the opening, and begins his counterattack.

“Not Enough to beat Ubo!!” he shouts, his heavy fists crashing into you over and over again. Ubo rains several dozen sledgehammer blows upon you, then with a two-handed axe-handle knocks you from the air. You crash down hard to the ground, the impact kicking up a massive cloud of dust. You struggle back up to your feet, feeling completely drained. You look up, Ubo diving down at you. With the last of your strength you leap back, narrowly avoiding Ubo’s diving attack. He smashes hard into the ground, and doesn’t move. You land akwardly, dropping to your hands and a knee as you wait for Ubo to rise.

But he doesn’t.

“U-Ubo?” you call out weakly, but he still doesn’t get up. As the dust clears, you see Ubo’s laying passed out in the newly-made crater. It’s over.
“Ubo!” Raven shouts as the dust clears enough for her to see, the witch leaping down at him. But she’s not alone.

“DADDY, YOU WON!!!” Chaya shouts, her and your sons all shouting and leaping down to you. You did it.

Chaya hits you like a wrecking ball, knocking you flat on your back. Broly and Chilli aren’t far behind, your kids all piling on top of you. You weakly chuckle out, holding them all to you as Meloka flies down, getting under one of Ubo’s massive arms and lifting the giant, Raven making a portal and the three of them going through it. It closes behind them, you focusing on what your kids are shouting.

“Wooooow!” Chilli shouts, awestruck. “Daddy’s amazing.”
“You’re the bestest ever!” Chaya shouts, hugging your neck. “My Daddy’s the best!”

Over the shouting, however, you notice Broly is very quiet. Looking down at him, you see he’s looking at you with an odd look. Before you can ask him what’s wrong, however-

“Bravo, Karn!” you hear a familiar voice calling out. You see Komand’r, Turles, and Koriand’r all drop down from the air, the black-haired princess applauding you. “Now THAT was a fight!”
“Who’re you?” Broly demands, flashing up to a Super Saiyan and standing defensively between you and the two Tamaraneans.
“Oh, now isn’t he just adorable!” Koriand’r shouts, rushing at Broly with outstretched arms. Broly reacts predictably, firing a wave of energy at her. The Tamaranean princess blocks the attack, yet is still caught off-guard by your boy’s power and gets knocked back to her sister and Turles. This catches Komand’r’s eye, the older sister looking at Broly like a shark looks at dinner.

“Well well, what do we have here?” she asks, taking in Broly. “Your son, Karn?”

“Chaya?” you say, watching your daughter. Her cheeks are a little red and her fists and teeth are clenched, looking angrily at the Tamaranean woman holding Broly captive in her embrace.

“Get off merrfffff!!” Broly shouts, Koriand’r burying the young boy’s face and holding him to her. You watch on with a mix of pride and awe as Chaya’s energy surges upward, her hair standing on end as a golden aura surges up around her. Is she really...?

“Let. Him. GOOOO!!!” your daughter roars, exploding off the ground at Koriand’r. She’s caught completely by surprise, her tiny fist slamming into the princess’s jaw. She drops Broly in shock, your son leaping back to you. But Chaya doesn’t stop, unloading a dozen punches to the princess’s face before kicking her back. Koriand’r staggers back, unready for your daughter. But before she can keep up the attack, someone else steps in.

At first you feel nothing, watching side-by-side with Meloka, Broly and Chilli as your daughter struggles to once again unleash her hidden power. She fights on, struggling desperately to unlock her power again. But after a few moments she lets out an aggravated, defeated breath.

“I, I can’t do it!” she pouts, you noticing her power rising slightly. Her hair begins standing up slightly, aura appearing slightly around her. “It’s too hard!”
“C’mon Chaya, don’t give up!” you say, your daughter turning towards you. You then talk to Broly telepathically as she turns. “Broly, you need to encourage Chaya too. Show her that you believe in her!”

“Y-You can do it!” Broly suddenly shouts out, Chaya’s eyes snapping open and focusing on the boy. “You can do it! Chaya!”

You can feel it as soon as Broly’s shout ends, the weakened inner barrier within Chaya again crumbles. You feel her inner strength again soaring, you smiling: she did it. You watch on proudly as Meloka gasps in surprise beside you. Your little girl’s hair stands up, a reddish tint to it as her now-golden aura explodes out around her. She roars at the top of her lungs, the color in her eyes disappearing as she stands tall. Your daughter did it!

When you arrive, you’re surprised to see the lead scientist there, as well as several of his assistants. You land by the elderly Saiyan, him turning to you.

“Well well, if it isn’t the great hero himself.” the older Saiyan says good-naturedly, you both clasping forearms. “You could protect the whole planet, but couldn’t at least keep this ship intact?”
“Next time I’ll just protect this ship over your scrawny hide, save me an earful.” you reply, you both sharing a chuckle. “So, what’s the damage?”

“Can’t have these upgrades taking too long.” you say thoughtfully, hand to your chin. “I will be leaving sometime soon to drop my challenge to the Arbiter at the Battledome. But I don’t have a timeframe yet, Lord Freeza is still speaking with Vox and getting that set up. So do whatever upgrades you’ll have time for, but the most important is getting the medical bay improved.”
“So you’re going after that bastard after all, huh?” he asks, you looking to him questioningly. He sees the confusion on your face, chuckling a bit. “When we’d heard the Supreme Kai ended the battle, many of us thought you’d end up going after him anyways. Don’t worry about your ship, we’ll get you back up and running as soon as possible.”
“Thanks, I appreciate it.” you say, the two of you again clasping forearms. You walk away from him as he begins shouting orders to his subordinates, you and Meloka walking inside. You take your gear off, clean and dry yourselves off, then crawl into bed. Sleep comes near instantly, that form having sapped your strength. You feel the darkness take you, drifting off to sleep.

You aren’t sure how long you slept, but suddenly you feel that you’re awake. Opening your eyes as well as your senses, you see your family are all back in your room asleep. Meloka is sleeping soundly in your arms, your kids all laying peacefully in their bed in a tangled pile of limbs. You smile at them, enjoying the moment, but something feels.... off. You can’t place it, but something doesn’t quite feel right. You can’t help but wonder if you’re just imagining things, you can’t see or sense anything wrong.

You can’t shake the feeling something’s wrong. Moving as quickly and quietly out of bed as you can, you get out of bed successfully without waking Meloka. You move from the room, locking your family safely away inside as you go out into the halls investigating. As your door shuts and locks behind you, you look up and down the halls, extending your senses. You see nothing, feeling the energies of your crew and the injured still receiving treatment in the Medical Bay. But you still can’t sense any ki out if the ordinary. But something’s off. You don’t know what, but something’s wrong. You stand there, looking up and down the empty halls. But you’re not alone. You’re not sure how you know this, but you are certain. Someone, or something, is watching you.

“Come on out.” you say, folding your arms and lean against the door. You wait a moment, then when you don’t get an answer you clench your fists, transforming up into a Super Saiyan. “I know you’re in here, show yourself.”

Silence

Nothing. Well, perhaps the threat revealing itself was too much for you to hope for. You begin walking down the hall towards your the Gravity Chamber. You can feel the threat following you, you avoiding turning around to look at it. Instead you walk into the Gravity Chamber, leaving all the doors open. You walk into the middle of the room, turning around and facing the doors.

“Come on out and get me.” you say, crossing your arms. “I’ve got things to do, I don’t have all da-“

Sensing danger behind you, you quickly twist, activating your Energy Blade. Your blade is suddenly caught between a pair of ancient, weathered hands, holding your blade at bay mere inches from his face.

“Impressive, Super Saiyan.” an old, mustached man says. “Your powers of observation are as astute as rumored, Karn.”
“Zoldyck.” you say, recognizing him and Ascending in a burst of sparks. You dissipate your blade, leaping back and dropping into your stance. Despite you still not sensing any power from the elderly assassin, you’re taking no chances. You know how powerful his son was, and how he and his kind operates. He simply holds up a hand, seemingly completely relaxed.
“Be at ease, Karn.” he says, waving you off. “I’m not here to fight you. I merely wished to offer you some advise, and give you a warning.”
“A warning?” you ask him, eyes furrowing. “About what?”

“That boy you helped my son capture.” he says, a barely-noticeable edge of anger to his voice. “He’s escaped.”
