Tsukiumi tenses up a little bit at that and looks you over.

“You are sure that she won’t do anything strange to me?”

“I’m absolutely certain. I’ll even tell her to let you out at a place of your choosing if you’d like.”

Tsukiumi hems and haws for a minutes until she finally nods and agrees.

“I will allow it. As long as you tell her yourself.”

“Of course.” You smile and give a polite bow. “Dr. Takumi!”

The small woman scurries over to you after you give her a nod.

“After you’re done with Tsukiumi you should let her out at a place she feels comfortable. If necessary I’ll even authorize use of one of our helicopters.”

Dr. Takumi nods. “Of course. Thank you Mr. Toyoaki.”

“My pleasure.” You give her a nod and then turn back to Tsukiumi. “Is all to your satisfaction?”

Tsukiumi grumbles but then nods in acquiescence.

“I hope the next time we meet is in better circumstances then.” You give her another small bow.

“The same.” Tsukiumi uses the old form of speaking of course but she lets Dr. Takumi do her job now.

You keep a hold of Akitsu’s arm, rather she keeps a hold of yours as you escort her out of the labs and into the elevator where she relaxes and you let out a sigh.

“That was fun.”

Akitsu looks at you with a bit of confusion.

“That was a joke.” You say with a smile.

Akistu nods, then settles back into you.

That took relatively little time, thankfully but it’s still getting late in your day.

You decide that after a busy day like this, you should make sure that you finish up for the weekend. At least to get the more important items out of your way, in your line of work there’s never actually an end of things to do, just individual assignments and the like. Akitsu of course follows you at a slight distance, much more relaxed now that you’re out of the labs.

She takes her spot at your spare desk while you sit at your own. Business goes by for the additional hour and a half that you have in the official work day, even passing a little over before you wrap things up for good. You grab your jacket, settle it on your shoulders and turn to see Akitsu standing and waiting for you.

“Lets go.” You wave her after you and make your way down the elevator to your car. Pulling out and preparing to go into traffic you…

As you pull out, an idea hits you and you head the opposite direction of the way you normally go. Akitsu of course notices this and looks over to you.

“We’re going to go around the city and I’m going to show you the places I usually go to. Some landmarks and things as well. So you can get around if need be.”

Akitsu pauses and then nods. “I will pay attention Hatsu.”

You nod to her and then you proceed to drive Akitsu around the city. It takes about an hour and a half, given that you don’t exactly stick to only one area of the place like some people do. North, west, south, east, you do a circle around the city. You even stop at a few major areas like shrines, pointing out major towers and a few other high rises. Even one or two places you find amusing because you’ve done jobs there.

Akitsu takes it all in and you see her show interest in a few places, like the shrines and one park that you stop buy, not the one where you found her. As you pull back around you find Akitsu looking around on her own a few times. It’s a good sign to you, as Akitsu’s sense of self is one of the things you were most concerned about.

As you finally pull in to a parking spot near your favorite watering hole, Akitsu looks at you and you smile.

“This is a place I come a lot after work or during the weekend, if I don’t have something else to do.”

Akitsu nods as you lead the way to…

You head to another hole in the wall, this one containing your favorite bar instead of a very upscale clothier. You life is full of places like this, ones where not many other people come but are very important, expensive and otherwise filled with interesting things.

There’s no bouncer at this door, nor is it locked. Most of the people inside can take care of themselves and the few who can’t are usually escorted by more than one of those who can. As you step in it’s a little bit later than you normally do, there’s a few more people than normal.

Some of them you recognize, some of them you don’t. It doesn’t matter as the staff recognize you and that’s all that matters. Newcomers get watched until they prove they’re not here to cause trouble.

You look between the bar and some of the booths nearby, then decide to head to the bar anyway. This is how you relax and you’re showing Akitsu around. You pull up a wooden stool, gesturing for Akitsu to sit next to you, which she does. She manages around her skirt quite well and you find yourself watching her for a moment.

Then of course “Tex” comes up to you with a smile. You’re 100% certain that Tex isn’t the man’s real name, given that you’re pretty sure he’s actually from the west coast of America if he’s even actually from America at all. You haven’t bothered to pry. He serves a good brew and enjoys conversing about things you can’t tell the whole story of and that’s all that matters to you.

“Hatsu, good to see you partner.” The man’s accent is a carefully sculpted Texan drawl, which you’re also sure is fake.

“Good to see you too Tex.” You smile as he places your favorite brand of beer in front of you without even needing to ask.

“Who’s the little lady with you today?” Tex looks at Akitsu with mild curiosity, “And what is she drinking?”

You turn and look at Akitsu who seems to be more concerned with looking around the place at the moment.

“This is Akitsu she’s...”

You wonder about what you should say for a split second but then you just roll with it. “Akitsu is my fiance and she’ll have whatever she wants.”

That gets you a pause from the normally unflappable Tex, who leans forward onto the darkwood bar. “You went and got yourself a fiance and didn’t mention anything to your buddy Tex? Hatsu my man I feel left out! How long have you known her?”

“I’ve known her for a few years. Her becoming my fiance is a much more recent thing.”

You turn to look at Akitsu, whose normally pale face at this point is a fiery red. You blink, never having seen her like this before. She notices you looking at her, then blushes even more and looks away.

“Akitsu?” you ask, utterly confused at this point.

“Hatsu-sama is… too good to me...” you hear her mutter.

You look back to Tex, who has flexed an eyebrow up in curiosity at Akitsu’s reaction.

“She’s… shy to most others.” You flash him a smile and a shrug.

Tex clearly thinks there’s more to the story since he’s not exactly an idiot but you don’t say anything more and he lets it drop. Another reason he’s so good at his job.

“So little lady, what will you have to drink?” Tex turns to Akitsu, who doesn’t notice, still blushing.

“Akitsu,” you say, grabbing her arm, “He’s asking you something.”

Akitsu looks up in surprise, then turns to where you nod.

“What would you like to drink?” Tex smiles at her.

“What Hatsu is having,” she says almost immediately. You figure she probably doesn’t know what else to order in a place like this.

“Bring a menu for her too,” you say to Tex, who nods and goes to get the requested items.

“Well if it isn’t good old Tatsu,” says a familiar voice, the owner sliding onto the stool next to you, “Who’s this?”

You turn with an inward sigh and see…

You see one of the most interesting people in your life. One who is also going to be just a bit of a problem at the moment.

“Hello Anya,” you say, turning to see the Russian blond sitting next to you.

Anya and you go way back, actually meeting in college before all of this got started. You didn’t get together then, as she was focused on her studies and you were with another girl at the time but when you met afterwards you did hook up. Something about nearly dying made hitting on attractive women who may be out of your league less intimidating. Scars certainly don’t hurt to impress.

Of all the girls you’ve been with, she’s been the most “on” though there’s been equal amounts of time “off” given that you often work on opposite sides of the line. You work corporate security specifically for MBI. She’s freelance, meaning that a few times you’ve seen her handiwork directly. Thankfully you’ve never actually had to shoot her nor she you but that possibility has occasionally hung in the air. Though once or twice it’s resulted in some pretty amazing makeup sessions.

“This is Akitsu, my fiance.” You gesture to the pale woman sitting next to you. “Akitsu this is Anya, she’s one of my old girlfriends.”

Akitsu perks up at that, Anya doing a double take at the same time. While you didn’t regularly exchange messages, you generally kept up on one another. You see the two women sizing each other up, Akitsu preening a bit while Anya sits up a bit straighter.

“Fiance? Hatsu I’d never expected you to settle down.” You aren’t sure what Anya is truly feeling but she can certainly play up the wounded woman very well. “Does this have something to do with that lovely thing in MBI you just refuse to talk about?”

“Somewhat.” You give a shrug and nod to Anya. “Like I told Tex, the Fiance bit is relatively new but I’ve know Akitsu for a while.”

Anya tilts her drink, vodka, at you and gives you a smile. “Well congratulations to you Hatsu.”

“Thanks Anya.”

It’s then that Tex comes back with Akitsu’s drink, placing it in front of her along with a menu.

“Get anything you want Akitsu,” you say to her, the Ice woman nodding to you, though part of her attention is still between you and Anya.

“So, Hatsu,” says Anya, “What’s up with you other than the new fiance?”

You pick up your beer, taking a sip of it and nodding your head. “Work is getting pretty crazy lately. Going to be releasing some new stuff relatively soon and the Bosses are all in a tizzy. Which of course means more work for me and my people.”

Anya nods to that, a small smirk appearing on her face as she sips at her own drink.

“Anything you can tell me?” She says with curiosity.

“Been a few liquidations recently, nobody important but there’s always a few. Just messes to clean up.”

“Not this time. Not recently at least. Means the odds are going up of me needing to do it of course. What about you Anya? What brings you back to Shin Tokyo?”

Anya smiles a bit and tilts her head a bit. “Your team is drawing a lot of attention from nearly everyone Hatsu. Plenty of people paying for skills like mine and yours right now.”

That’s Anya of course, mostly just going where the money is.

“Well I suppose I’ll tell my people to keep their guard up if you’re going to be around.”

She smirks at that. “Now Hatsu, I didn’t say I was going after you specifically. I could be doing security work of my own~.”

You snort and tilt your glass towards her. “Point. Still, if there’s more people looking at us I need to do it anyway.”

“You and your responsibility.” Anya’s voice is still fond of you, though a bit more distant than usual. To be expected given Akitsu.

“Yeah, well my offer still stands if you ever want to stop running around.” You say.

“My offer still stands to you as well,” she says with a smirk, “If you ever decide sitting in a comfy tower isn’t for you anymore.”

Your attention is drawn away as Akitsu tugs at your sleeve and points at one of the drinks on the menu. You’re not sure what caught her eye about the “Mammoth Margarita” but you know its usually something drunk by at least a pair of people.

“You want to try that?” you ask carefully.

Akitsu nods. You pause, uncertain.

“Afraid your girl is going to get wasted Hatsu?” Anya asks from beside you.

“No, just double checking,” you say to Anya, figuring that Akitsu will probably be just fine given you know Sekirei have enhance metabolism to go along with everything else. You flag down Tex, and let Akitsu order her drink. Anya looks on with a cocked eyebrow of “Really?” as the bartender places the large dish shaped glass in front of her.

You’re a little bit concerned yourself, not remembering quite how large the thing is.

“Your girl is a hell of a drinker,” Anya says, watching as Akitsu drains the frozen concoction at a remarkable pace.

“That she is.” You wonder how Akitsu is drinking that fast but then remember that “Brain Freeze” is likely a foreign concept to her, given that she literally has the power over ice. Akitsu doesn’t quite manage to drink the thing down in one go but despite your urging she still seems to enjoy it quite a bit and it’s gone in less than twenty minutes.

Not too much longer after that, Akitsu is leaning on you, her face red.

“Maybe you should have held her back a little bit there Hatsu,” Anya says with a grin.

“Maybe,” you agree, looking down at the snow woman as her eyes track up to yours and she manages a smile. “Hatsu is good to me...” she mumbles to you. It’s sweet but the poor girl is rather drunk. You’ve only had your one beer at this point, with another on the way as you chat with Tex and Anya but Akitsu is apparently getting drunker and drunker as time goes on.

Halfway into your second beer Akitsu is attempting to sit on your lap, still drunk and clearly not going to be getting any better soon.

“Hatsu...” she grumbles at you, the not small woman clearly set on occupying your lap at this point. Anya and occasionally Tex look on as you fight a losing battle against your drunk Sekirei.

You decide, being the good and responsible Ashikabi you are, that it’s time you take Akitsu home. Maybe letting her drink a Mammoth Margarita for the first time on an empty stomach with no tolerance built up was a bad idea but she isn’t throwing up or anything. Just finally showing how needy she might truly feel. Which in it’s own way isn’t bad and rather cute. It’s just not something you should let happen in your favorite bar.

“I think we’re going to head home,” you say to Tex as he walks by, handing him your card which he quickly turns and swipes for you. You could leave a tab but it’s messier that way and you like to keep your finances clear.

“I won’t,” you say, raising a hand to both of them as you carry Akitsu to the car. She’s vertical at least but leaning against you heavily, making it somewhat of an issue when you try and put her in her seat, she simply doesn’t want to let go. Eventually you do get her in, buckle up and get back to your apartment after a somewhat slow drive. It’s not like you need to be home anyway.

Finally you make it to your apartment building and Akitsu is still pretty drunk, though you think the worst of it might have worn off. She’s still leaning on you at least, though you aren’t sure if it’s because of the intoxication or because she just wants to touch you.

Between the long day you’ve both had, Akitsu having her first drink and getting drunk off of it and the fact that you don’t want Akitsu to have a hangover, you decide that you should get Akitsu into the shower so she can get cleaned up. Thankfully you now have sleeping clothes for her to put on after she’s done but there’s the small problem of actually getting her into the shower.

You manage to make it to the bathroom with little trouble, as Akitsu is perfectly willing to stand and lean against you the entire time. What you don’t quite manage, is to get her to stand on her own or take of her clothes.

“Akitsu...” you sigh, after trying to get her to stand up for the third time, “Are you sure you can’t stand?”

“I want to be with Hatsu-sama,” she says, not precisely answering your question but giving you plenty of idea to how she’s thinking at the moment. It doesn’t help that it’s her front leaning against you and not just her side, she seems particularly eager to drape herself over you.

You decide, in the end, that it’ll probably be best if you both get in the shower. Well, the bath actually. You aren’t sure how well you’ll be able to hold up Akitsu if she’s wet and naked. You let her sit down on you one stool, even if she does continue looking at you the entire time as you run the bath water.

Getting her out of her clothes is relatively easy, as she offers no resistance and perhaps even welcomes it. You aren’t sure if it’s because she’s drunk or because you’re her Ashikabi but you see nothing but love even in her drunken eyes. At least not until you begin to strip out of your own clothes, then there’s a bit more curiosity in them. You manage to make it down to your underwear before Akitsu notices the scars on your front and manages to clumsily stand and press against you.

“Hatsu-sama...” Her voice is worried, despite the fact that the wounds are long healed. “You were injured.”

“A long time ago Akitsu. I’m all better.” You keep your words calm, even as the ice woman looks up at you with fire in her eyes.

“Are they dead?” The stark question stuns you for a second, reminding you that for all Akitsu’s warmth, she has killed before.

“Yes. All of them. Most by my own hand.” Akitsu seems to find that appropriate, her hand trailing over your flesh for a moment more before she manages to lean against the wall. You finish stripping and then begin your work.

It’s one thing to know that Akitsu’s flesh is smooth in your head. It’s another to feel it warm beneath your fingers as you clean and wash her. She makes no move away from you, so you wash all of her back and arms, before making her wash her own front. You’re sure she wouldn’t mind but she’s still somewhat drunk and you aren’t going to take any sort of advantage of her. You begin to wash yourself, starting with the front but Akitsu insists on washing the rest of you like you did to her. Again, you can feel her heat and warmth but there’s no urgency to the motions. She seems to be exploring you as much as washing you, so by the time you’re both finally washed off you have to heat up the bath water again.

You climb into the tub first, though you don’t sit down yet. Instead you help Akitsu in with you and then you both slide down. Once you’re down, Akitsu melts into your embrace, her body supple as can be while her curves press against yours. You feel nothing but warmth from her, no desire, no want. This is all she wants. The only thing she wants. It’s strange, you’ve never really felt something as unconditional as what she freely gives. It’s almost daunting, yet at the same time impossibly easy to slip into.

You place a hand against the back of her head and you feel her murmur, pressing her head into the crook of your shoulder and happily remaining there. You aren’t sure how much time passes but by the time you get out the water is cooled and Akitsu appears to be much more sober than she was before. You have to prod her to get her to climb out of the tub, where you both dry off. Akitsu however makes no move to get redressed, instead standing with a towel wrapped around her and an expectant look on her face.
