Taking the orc subjugation poster I bring it to Qala to get it stamped.

"Orcs, huh. There's been many sightings of monsters and even a few skirmishes here and there ever since that demon king showed," she said.

"Demon king?" I questioned.

Qala gives back the poster to me, "Yeah, he's been attacking kingdoms non-stop, especially Piladium since it's the biggest territory wise. Anyways, the Kleinel Forest isn't too far from Aliasa. Make sure to cut off the orcs' ear for proof too."

"Nn, thanks," I say, waving goodbye to Qala.

"Good luck," she says back.

Just as Qala said, the Kleinel Forest wasn't for from the city. It was about a 30 minute walk from Aliasa starting at the gate, and even if you were no where near it you could still see the treeline bordering the main road. It was an ordinary forest, the trees and shrubs overgrown and thick as they lean over the established path.

Fenrir exits my shadow, "We're looking for orcs, right?"

"Yes, sister," Yoksha says. "They're the ones with the pig-like face, correct?"

"That's what I expect them to look like, they shouldn't be too hard to find," I said.

"I'll watch the rear then, master," Fenrir said.

"Good, let's get going."

With Yoshka and Fenrir watching my back I went deeper into the forest. It was weird, walking down the path there was a scarce amount of sound from birds or animals. No that's wrong, there was no sound. The forest was dead quiet with my boots making the only audible noise.

*Rustle, rustle

rustle, rustle*/i]

Behind me there was a slight rustling. It sounded...odd, like something or someone was walking carefully. Then it hit me.

"Yoshka, Fenrir, we have company!" I alarmed.

As I said that a huge amount of orcs jumped from the thicket. Bashing my head with their club, knocking me out...

Darkness...

It's cold, the ground's hard...

Waking up, an intense pain flooded my head. In reaction I touch the top of my skull, blood marking my hand.Concerned, I felt around my head some more. It doesn't look bad, it certainly isn't gushing but it's a pretty bad wound.

Looking around I was in a cave. Torches lit the eroded walls as I was in a room with other woman. Their bodies were bruised, some of them crying while others sit lifelessly. My gaze was attracted to their crotch, a strange liquid running down from...oh fuck. This is where the orcs live right?

I picked the left path, continuing my blind walk through the cave. Who knows how complex the paths are but I can only hope to not run into too much trouble. Getting hit in the head to be knocked out unconscious to find myself here is too much of a hassle to think about, for what I know I might've been here for hours.

Running into a corner I crouched down, listening intently if there's anything up ahead.

"Human females brake so easily, wish they last longer, bughihi."

"You got it wrong, the way they squeal is the reason why we enjoy them. Just look at her face, gehihi!"

Up ahead I heard a conversation between two orcs while a woman wailed pleasurably in a mix between anguish and ecstasy. Makes me feel lucky that i wasn't played with before I woke up...

But yes I wholeheartedly approve of this idea.
>>
>>2871763
Choose a disease unique to their physiology like say orc specific tusk rot, have it have a long incubation period and spread through their breath, water and food stuffs with dormant samples living in normal soil. Enchant to spread into the jawline and cause septic shock/death once the infection is established. Have to make sure it spreads to enough orcs to self sustain though, so you will need a powerful high atmosphere dispersal event to do the initial infection.

Try not to get marriage proposals from the demon lord for this technically evil plot to genocide a species (even if they deserve it).
>>
Jumping out I made my presence known to the two orcs, surprising them while they were still enjoying themselves with a woman. I looked at them, catching both orcs in my view.

"A human trying to escape, huh?" the orc bellowed.

The other threw away the woman like a doll, "Looks like we'll need to treat her a lesson, bughih-- What?!"

They were paralyzed by my evil eye, leaving them open for me. Casting dark arrow I fired at their heads, sending a volley towards them as they get punctured from the neck up. They fall, dead as anything can be as their corpses bleed out on the ground.

Using the new skill I got from Alia I made myself a sling and grabbed a few rocks heavy enough for a deadly blow. I checked the room before I continued but there was nothing much here, just some sticks and leaves piled in corners.

Commanding the undead orcs to proceed in front of me I went into the next path, long and winding just like the last one. Up ahead there was noise, the sound of snorting and clanking resounding through the tunnels.

Ordering the undead to stop I approached slowly to sneak a look. There was four orcs within a room, going through a pile of old gear, rusty swords, and wooded shields. Placed near the pile was my stuff, not yet touched by the orcs.

The room now cleared I regained by possessions, equipping my gear back on.

The mist entered the bodies, causing the bodies to twitch and move back to life. Now that
there's six undead orcs at my command things will be a bit more easier.

"Arm yourselves," I commanded, pointing at the pile of leftover weapons and gear.

They groaned, picking up rusted blades and worn down shield into their hands. Most of the
stuff in the pile were too small for the undead but they eventually found something they could
use.

"Good," I say. "Progress towards there," commanding them to move through the next tunnel ahead.

Groaning again they did as I ordered, moving as a group with me following behind...

*BOOM*

The cave shook, the sound of pounding and squealing following shortly after. The orcs are probably
fighting something and it doesn't sound like they're winning.

Making haste, I commanded the undead to move faster, coming across the cave's entrance faster than
expected. Out in front of me was a small clearing full of orcs, Fenrir in her human form fighting against them while
Yoshka rode on her tail.

While Yoshka, Fenrir, and the undead orcs take care of the front-line I start casting spells to support them.

"Marking hex, dark arrow, horrid grasp!" I say, shooting spell after spell and restricting the movements of the orcs.

Horrid grasp may have the strength of a average man but coupled with marking hex, either hexing them to be
incapacitated or purely damaging the orcs, they both restricted and whittle down the monstrous force. Dark
arrow was also helpful in the means of artillery, forcing orcs to take cover while the front-line ravaged them. Eventually
the massive tribe of orcs were no more, and what remained of them was one member of the force, restrained by the arms
and presented to me at the foot of the cave.

"Master, I'm sorry we lost you," Fenrir said. "Luckily I found you by tracking your scent."

Yoshka's head popped from the ground, "The sheer amount of orcs that ambushed us kept me and Fenrir busy while
they dragged you off."

"It's okay," easing them. "What matters is that we're okay."

I then turn to the sole orc in front of me, kept down by my undead.

"I-I surrender, bughi. Please, spare me! I'll tell you anything!" it squealed.

"Hmm, let's see," I say, tapping a finger on my lip. "Do you know any more orcs within the vicinity?

"N-No, we're the only ones within the forest," the orc said.

"I see...Who's your leader? If you have one of course," asking another question.

The orc seemed hesitant, but I snapped my finger making Yoshka loom over him in a effort to make him talk.

"An-swer~ I'm not in a good mood right now, especially when I could've lost my virginity to someone I don't love, ne~"

"Alright! Alright! Us orcs has been stationed here near the Piladium Kingdom's capital for surveillance by orders
from Jago, one of the demon king's generals!"
the orc answered.

"Demon king, huh," pausing myself. "...Four of you, take this bag. Cut of the ears of every orc here and put it inside," I
commanded.

"Gruu.."

Leaving the main group they took my bag as ordered and started cutting off ears with their rusty swords.

"As for you..." I say menacingly.

"Bughi!!!

I know it sounds needless cruel, but I want to use him as an example. I want the women in the caves to see that it's over. There's nothing that can hurt them, and they can walk up to this guy and stab him up if they don't really believe it.

I'm thinking handprint with a deerskull in the palm.

I wanted him to chant Kuwabara since there's a good chance that none of these inhabitants understand Japanese and having a mindfucked orc chanting one word will have a stronger effect than a mere sentence.
Not only that, Fuuma is Japanese so there is a good chance she would know it's usage.

That was my totally intention. But we can push them through reason that is for the best of her to come with us, AND we can time to time give her some signals.

"Now that you fully cooperative, let's start the questionnaire~!" I say excitedly. I won't lie, playing with someone's body
invoked a..sadistic feeling, a high deep within me. "Tell me, who's the demon king?"

"The demon king is the goddess of dark's incarnation, borne every million years. He is now known as Eresh."

"interesting, who's this goddess of dark?"

"Vamia, a ruling goddess of this world. Sister of Alia, Kordia, and Gratia."

"Good, good. Now who are the demon king's generals?"

"Jago the earthshaker, a dragon-kin. Merilia, the songstress, a succubus. Gamedae the golden, a lion demi-human.
And Titania, the queen of elves and Sylvanus."

"Thank you, but it looks like you've exhausted your use. Be a good doll and do one dying favor for me~"

Telling Fenrir to cut oft the orc's ear I use poison creation to fill him up with the most deadly toxin I can muster, pouring it into
the orc's bloodstream. The veins started to bloat all around the orc's body, stretching the tissue into the size of a cord string.

"Marking hex, burst," I said, personally molding the mark into a handprint with a deer's skull inside. "Activate till you meet with
this 'Jago'. He'll love this present."

The orc turns, walking into a direction away from the city.

"k-Kuwabara, kuwabara, see through the eyes of no one...Kuwabara, kuwabara, see through the eyes of no one...Kuwabara,
kuwabara, the deer mother sings her lullaby..."

The orc chanted my little song I implemented inside him, it'll be a shame to not see this Jago's face.

Fuuma's magic stat is 300, and with mana control she could make new spells of
her own. Didn't want to tell since I wanted you guys to come to that possibility. As for meta
gaming, the side-stories are suppose to make the world (that I improvise a lot) more fleshed out.

Projecting the mana from my body and into a nearby boulder, I visualize a golem, or my
idea of a golem.

The boulder shook, rocks and stone pulling towards at as they form a humanoid-esque. The
crags glowed a blue light as the amalgam of stone groaned, announcing its birth.

"Alright! You, stay here and guard until further commands!" I said.

"Guuuuh..."

"Okay," ordering the undead orcs to me I cast purify on them. Their bodies dissipated into a bright light,
leaving nothing. "Now that's dealt with we can start wrapping things up here, Fenrir come!"

"Yes!"

Heading back into the caves I rescued the captive women, healing their bodies. Telling them that they're
now saved they all started crying, thanking me at my feet. It was a bit awkward but I didn't hate how they
acted.

"Fenrir, take these women to the golem and wait for me," I said.

"Aye. Yes, master," gathering the women and leading them back into the forest.

With only me and Yoshka I went to explore the other path I didn't go through. It was a room full of rations, a table
settled in the corner. On the table was a few maps that were rolled open. They were marked, indicating paths around
kingdoms such as Piladium.

Alright guys, on the matter of our stats I'd like to put forth two suggestions based on the fact that we were extremely easily ambushed by a creature far weaker than us.
Option 1.
Put at least 50 points into magic, and join the mage's guild to learn new tricks and decide what other types of magic we would like to use by watching other mages use their own elements.
Option 2.
Put 80 or more points in speed and join the assassin's guild, with the assumption that such a guild would be able to teach us stealth tactics and/or sensory skills.
I'd also like to say that whichever route we go, I wouldn't mind putting more points into light magic, if only for the purpose of honoring the god that actually helped us.
>>
>>2873383
I still suggest we dump 100 points into defense so we CAN take a hit and not crumple like tinfoil. And some spare points unlocking some of the first levels of magic for the other elements.
After that, I'm fine with whatever.
>>
>>2873383
>>2873391
I agree on putting some in defense and magic. We'll take the mage route.
>>
>>2873398
What if we learn how to make a mana shield? Damage resistance using mana as a power source?
>>
>>2873410
What about making a earth spell that gives our flesh the hardness of stone or metal?
>>
Whatever, I'm more interested in how to reward Yoksha and Fenrir. Maybe we can adjust the hex to allow them free access to their transformation. Oh and buy them tasty tasty snacks
>>
>>2873383
>>2873398
Why not just be a glass cannon? We have like reanimate and the other two for shield meat.
I would put everything on magic and through reason and meditate make some can of passive psychic/light/shadow shield if we need so much defense,
>>
>>2873391
I just think if we learn defensive spells along with offensive and supporting spells, we're getting a better bang for our buck with each stat point invested into magic.
Or just simply be fast enough that we need less of a window to avoid an attack, but we've got the deepest investment in magic right now.

I snap my finer, growing yoshka to a size big enough for the room, "Yoshka, dig to see if there's
any secret rooms and what not."

"On it," he said, tunneling into the stone like sand. He then came back up after a while, notifying me
that's there's nothing among the cave's tunnels, "There's nothing here, master."

I nod, snapping my fingers again to shrink the wyrm. Taking the maps I leave the cave, joining Fenrir
and the rest of the women. With the help of my golem we were safely protected, escorting us back
to the capital.

"Disperse," I said, making the golem no more but a pile of stone.

Alarming the guards at the gate I got the women help, being taken to a recovery facility before
they go back to their homes. Entering the city myself I then rush to the adventurer's guild with my
bag full of ears.

"Qala, I'm back from the quest," I say, announcing myself to the receptionist. I then drop my bag of
ears on the counter, Qala's eyes going wide from my harvest.

She adjust her glasses, "A-All of this are orc ears?"

"Yup," i say proudly.

Qala took out a monocular like last tiime analyzing a handful of them, "This much...How many were
there, Nemo?!"

"Er, around forty, fifty-ish," I recount.

"Fifty...With that amount than they could ransack a whole town or two. Guh, nevermind, I'll tell the guild
master later." Going under the desk she counted my reward, the clinking of coins becoming rhythmic.
"Originally the quest was fifty coppers and one silvers, but with this amount of proofs you certainly
earned much more. Here, ten silvers, and two platinum coins."

I took the coins from Qala, storing them in my bag, "If I remember, a platinum coin is a lot."

"Very," she confirmed.

"Oh yeah, could you make copies of these?" giving her the maps.

"What are these?" she asked.

"Maps I found in a cave inhabited by orcs," I answered.

"Okay...Let me take these to the back room." Qala enters the door behind the counter. For a brief moment, a flash of blue light flashed from inside. She then comes back, handing me a copy, "Here, Nemo."

"Thanks," bagging the maps as well.

"Geez, ever since you came here I had to work out the riled adventurers because of you. Now you bring
something very, very important to the state," Qala lamented.

"What about the maps?" i questioned

"Nemo, these maps are routes connecting from the demon king's territory to all around the country. You know
what that means?"

I shrug.

"It means that the demon king already has established paths to get his army around, and that's bad."

Qala's eyes start to get swirly. Stress is pretty scary.

"Other than that, what about the adventurer's?" wanting to know about what I did.

"It turns out people are pretty mad about your rapid success. Turning in the whole bag of orc ears
is only gonna worsen the problem. There's already a few A and S ranks watching your progress even if
this was your second quest. They probably want you in their teams or want to make a move on you to prove
their superiority, watch out 'kay." Qala said.

"Oh, just when I thought trouble stopped going my way," I remarked.

"You tell me..."

"Hey, is it possible to become a member in other types of guilds?"

"Yeah, why?" sanity coming back to Qala's eyes.

"Just wanted to know, though I could branch out," I explained.

"Well other types of guilds has their own advantages and draw-backs, don't get too crazy in applying for them
just in case. Relationships between the guilds are pretty tough to handle and one wrong move may cause a
falling out with one another." She sighs heavily, going back behind the counter to collect some documents. "It
was nice talking with each other but I have a job that's more strict in terms of free-time."

"Okay, it was nice for you to inform me, Qala," I say, waving her good-bye.

"It's my job, see you later."

Going back to the streets I breathed heavily, sighing like Qala. I'll need some time for myself to sort all this information
out. But until then, I could take it easy.

I guess applying to the mage's guild would be good. I'm a mage too. Kinda. Gathering
Yoshka and Fenrir we left Circe in search for the mage's guild.

Not knowing where the guild exactly was I asked a few people passing by. Apparently the
mage's guild was located in the upper district, the same place where the Palad Order's headquarters are. But it was
also a place where most of the kingdom's nobility visit. Because of the hierarchical gap most people don't go
there in risk of upsetting the higher class even if there's no rule saying that commoners cannot enter the upper district.

Thanking them I went my way, going up the streets.

>10 crit. fail

Going up the city the streets became noticeably cleaner, commoners becoming scarce as merchants and the
higher class roamed instead. It was nice.

If it wasn't for a girl wearing a very noticeable outfit in a district mostly visited by the higher class and nobility.

Each time I pass by a person we exchanged a weird glance at each other. No one came up to me or made a big deal
out of my presence, they just...watched. I talked to some people, most notably a merchant, for help in finding
the mage's guild. The merchant told me that it was a few blocks down. Take a right at the end of the third block and
I'll find it. I thanked him in a more subservient way since well... It'll be rude when the higher class watched my conversation.

Just when I was about to turn to the right a familiar voice called to me.

"I remember you! You're the girl from the alley!"

Ah, the ringlet girl. The knight I previously met in the morning.

"Face me! You're message made quite a stir within the headquarters."

Didn't call for a roll but rolled a crit. success as well.

Knowing nothing else to do in my current situation I called for a desperate measure. Turning around
I face her, taking my mask off. Directing my gaze I then approach Marianne until the proximity between us
was essentially in the bounds of intimacy.

"W-What?!" Marianne exclaimed, unknowing about the paralysis that I have affected her with. Her cheeks
become red as I lean in closer and closer, "Y-You dare lay hands on the daughter of an earl? I-I--"

I completely close in, both of my hands taking hold on the sides of her face while I put all my passion
into a single, long kiss...

(Marianne Du Legoune's POV)

The witch girl turned around, completely facing me. It looks like she's ready to submit. The higher-ups want to
know about her intentions ever since a soldier came in to deliver a map holding very key information on the
demon king's military, saying that a girl in a horned mask gave it to him. Not only that but the maps were also
signed with a note and a symbol addressing the Palad Knight Order in a mischievous tone. Maybe mockingly
in a sense.

Taking off her mask she revealed her face. Her skin which was wholly covered was light and her hair was
long and black, reaching down to the leg. Now that she's taken off the mask I took notice of her body's structure, the
thin frame of hers juxtaposing the bulky bear's cloak and her height standing comparable to me. I was frozen, I couldn't move as at the same time I dared not try myself.

She approached closer and closer, each step making my body hotter. It reached the point where she was against me,
her breathe touching my skin. And then she fully closed in, crossing-- no, flying over the gap of intimacy with a deep,
passionate kiss. I never imagined having a kiss this heartfelt nor did I expect a woman taking my first time. I wasn't
engaged myself as a noblewoman so the thought and action never crossed me. It was...it made me feel...

Thump, thump, thump

During the time when we both touched mouths my heartbeat rapidly picked up pace. Is this l-love, the fleeting feeling that
invades the body? The feeling of affection?

(Back to Fuuma's POV}[/b[

I finish kissing the drill girl leaving her in a dazed state. She was entirely out of it, her cheeks flushed and all. With nothing I
could do about her state I put my mask back on, trying again to open the door.

It was a push door...

Leaving Marianne I entered inside a neat, clean reception room. On each side a corridor spanned a fair distance with doors
lining the walls. There were stairs too, making a way to an upper floor.

Also also, if one of the generals are a succubus / temptress, we are without a doubt gonna need some measure of magic resistance sooner rather than later. Maybe we can build it up like we did with poison?
>>

There's a fair chance that the Succubus's seduction powers will probably go beyond just magical, we will probably also need to have a strong willpower/self-control to possibly stand against it. But your suggestion is a good start nonetheless.

Going up the desk I ring the bell that was placed on it. The door located to the desk's side soon
opened, a man in robes meeting my call.

He looked at me with a stare that I now grew familiar with, "Welcome to Aliasa's mage's guild, how
can I help you?"

"I would like to register," I said.

"Okay," taking a pen and paper out from under the desk, "Fill this document, please."

I take a hold of the pen and wrote down the fake identity I made on to the paper, the same information
printed into the registration form like the adventurer's guild and city card. Done, I gave it back to the
receptionist.

"Let's see...Nemo. Miss Nemo, follow me to the ability exam."

The receptionist opened the he first came from, ushering me in. Stepping inside he then leads me to another
room, telling me to take a seat in front of a table and wait while he gets one of the guild's examiners. After
a while he comes back holding a ball that was cushioned on a pillow, an old man following into the room as well.

"You're Miss Nemo, yes? I'm Wilbur O. Margriive, a retired noble now advisor of Aliasa's mage's guild. I
presume that we're here to examine you?"

"Okay then. Please, channel mana into this crystal ball. It'll start to glow brighter and
brighter depending on your magical ability. Of course, you do know how to channel mana, right?"

"I know," I confirmed.

"Good."

Wilbur told the receptionist to place the crystal ball on the table, presenting it in front of me. I then start

The ball reacted, a faint light glowing from it. The light continued to get stronger as I pour my

so bright that I could've blinded myself, Wilbur, and the receptionist, Wilbur telling me to stop before it got out of hand.

I take my hands off from the ball, the light dying rapidly as it had no mana to sustain itself.

"M-Miss, do you know what have you done, what you've shown?!" Wilbur said, amazed by the performance.

Idea for future reference:
If we can store mana, we should make some bead chains to store mana in said beads, and enchant each with a single spell. Basically make a necklace of quick cast spells with max mana behind them.

I think we should get a haircut, our hair is way too long. Then put it in a ponytail. Also upgrade wardrobe to something other than a giant bear pelt

Just braid it. You can work in bracelets and charms which are also good for enchantments. Get enough spells and youll probably find one to clean yourself to solve the whole maintanence issue.

We can use this to our advantage as a low key intimidation. Basically we say cryptic words about fear and cowardice when in reality they're just paralyzed from staring at him or her too much. I say Fuuma should learn some or pull some references in earth may it be movies or shows I mean Japan has a wealth of horror stories we can incorporate some messages to strike fear to our opponent similar to what we did to that orc.

"Did I put to much mana into it? Hope I didn't break the ball," flustered.

Wilbur shakes his head, "No, no, the ball will be fine." He then takes a seat for himself,
sitting across from me while the crystal ball was taken away by the receptionist. "Nemo, you're
aptitude in magic is clearly above a normal man, even comparable to a court mage when just
looking at the result."

"Uh, thanks?"

"Sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable, it's just that I never seen such a read for a very long time," Wilbur reassured. "If you
seek a career in magic alone you may be granted a noble status if you show your skills-- ah, sorry, I'm getting too ahead of myself."

Wilbur took a second to calm down, sorting his thoughts in order.

"You'll be a member of the mage's guild, there's no doubt about that. As for ranks, we do not carry
out that sort of system. The guild is a place for study and the progression of magic, some of our
member are even professors at Lionheart Academy, a school solely for the nobles of this country...." Wilbur pauses again, "Miss Nemo, have you
ever thought about teaching?"

"No, not really," I said.

"I see. How does teaching at Lionheart sound? You're no doubt an expert at magic and the noble's children could definitely benefit from your lessons. The pay

We came here to brush up on our magic, we need to understand the underlying qualities and spells, etc. You know, be a bookworm type.

You know, I think our parents were the active physical type. That's why we have a distant relationship with them as they couldn't understand why we'd prefer to read. And we couldn't really get why they just love hiking, camping and doing stuff outside.
Dad is a blue collar welder type, amateur bodybuilder. Once dragged us to a gym to teach us how to pose our muscles. Much embarrassment was had when he encouraged us to do Schwarzenegger poses

"I understand, but please do tell me if you take interest in teaching."

Wilbur gets out of his chair and opens the door to the hall.

"The examination is done," he told me. "How about a tour of the institute?"

"Sure, thank you."

Joining Wilbur in the hall he explained that making me mage's card would take a while and wanted to show me around
personally since I peaked his interest. We return to the reception's desk and head into the side halls, Wilbur showing me the
numerous rooms and facilities.

It turns out in the first thread our parents are workaholics and never home.
So we'd have to modify this background. Perhaps they were in debt after being a financial guarantor of a family member who went bankrupt. So they started working more and more to keep their heads above water and provide for their daughter.
The mother's business is enough to keep their heads above water and actual earns more than the father but this kind of hurt the father's pride as a provider of his family. They barely got to see each other because of their work and when they did come home they'd start arguing. Soon it just got easier to avoid each other and the daughter was mature enough to take care of herself so they started avoiding her too because it was easier on them. Each assumes that the other is actually providing some sort of support but it turns out both were neglectful.

"Say, do you have a library?" I asked.

"Yes we do, third biggest in the city actually. Want me to show you?"

"Yes please~!"

Going down the hall and taking a right, Wilbur led me the guild's library. It was huge, two floors and aisle upon
aisle of books, scriptures, documents, and records.

"Impressed?" Wilbur said.

"Very, I could probably keep myself for days until the need for food occurs. Tell me, how do you get all of these books?"

"Many magic researchers record their data and experiments at the guild, ultimately being stored in this library. Of course,
this place doesn't just hold recordings, we also have copies of tomes and highly established books about magic and its
qualities. We do have history books here, but not many though."

"Could I check it out? I'd love to see what's in store," I say, ready to grab the chance.

"Haha, sure, go ahead. I'll leave you here while I check on your card," Wilbur laughed, exiting the library.

I wonder the shelves, the air full of the smell of old paper.

"I don't understand the need for books, master," Fenrir says, still within my shadow.

"Books hold knowledge. Even if you were born million years in the past, writing a book will last forever. It cements
your thoughts into something timeless," I say while browsing the titles lined against the wall.

I picked the book off the shelf and lay it on a table, taking a seat for myself. Opening the cover i read the
following passages, turning page after page.

Mana Theory and Law

pg.7

The main component of spells and all things magic is mana. Mana is an organic energy that is always present in the world, a basis
where people use to 'cast' spells and the like. The origin of mana is currently unknown but researchers agree that it's flowing naturally
in the world and within organisms such as human beings.

Before in the past, the concept of mana was seen as a supernatural life energy within animals and plants, but was proven wrong
when a leyline, a massive storage of mana inside the earth, was discovered. Usually, mana is colorless but when compacted together
it creates a faint hue of blue. When practitioners of magic who originally believed the life energy version of mana found a leyline, they
came across a leaking mist of blue. Discovering and cementing the existence of today's concept of mana, creating one of the first
laws of mana, that law being "Mana is a material that is always around us and inside us".

pg.23

The art of casting, mostly known as magic is when a person conducts mana. Most people use the innate mana supply within themselves
which is easier to pull and use from but is limited to their own stored capacity. The other way is using mana from the surroundings, which is
often harder than using one's own mana, but the upside is that there's an unlimited amount to pull from. If a person masters using the
surrounding mana then they'll achieve an unlimited source to fuel their spells, but none has achieved such mastery.

pg. 26

When casting spells it is very important to visualize the spell in question. Casting a spell is converting conducted mana into a shaped a
phenomenon, be it fire, wind control, or cleaning spells. An elementary practice for visualization is chanting as it helps form the conducted mana through
wording, albeit at a slower pace than just visualizing it. Think of mana like a sort of clay, and casting mana is shaping the clay into a desired form. That's
what casting is and what spell crafting is in general.

A few hours had pass as I close the book, deciding that I did enough reading for today. Stretching my legs
I get out of my seat, taking the book back into the shelf I founded it in. Yoksha and Fenrir was asleep, Yoksha's
body coiled around my neck and Fenri's snoring resounding inside my mind. They woke up soon after, my body's
movement waking them up.

The library's door opened, Wilbur entering inside with a card in his hands.

"Seems you enjoyed yourself, Miss Nemo," Wilbur says, handing me my mage's guild card.

"I did. This place is full of material I can use for myself," I said.

"Well I'm glad. Sorry for the long wait, even if you don't mind. Had to sort out some documents that
one of the workers accidentally misplaced," Wilbur said. "Now that you've got your card, you're free
to use our facilities."

I put the newly obtained card into my bag, along with the other ones, "Thank you very much."

"No sweat. Now if you excuse me, I have work to finish," he turned, approaching the door. "May we meet
again some time, Miss Nemo."

We exchanged our good-byes, Wilbur leaving me in the library again. I followed suit as well, making my way
out of the guild. My stomach rumbled, reminding me that I haven't eaten at all today. Now that I think about it,
it's pass noon, so I won't be able to get lunch from the inn. Leaving the mage's guild I stroll out of the upper
district and back to the lower one, meeting a stand selling kebobs. I got three, enough for Yoshka and Fenrir when
we get back to the inn.

At Circe, I went up to the front desk to extend my stay, paying another 28 copper and going into my room. Like routine, Yoshka
and Fenrir took the bed while I take of my gear, eating their share of the kebobs.

"I prefer meat raw but this will do," commented Fenrir, rocking her legs back and forth on the bed.

"It's pretty alright, sister. Master did by it for us," said Yoshka.

"Yeah, yeah. It's better than berries at least," said Fenrir.

"Well I don't know about you Fen but I had to ate poisonous ones," I joked.

It's afternoon, today was a pretty tiring day because of those orcs.

"Yoshka, Fen, come here for a bit," I called.

"Sure, what is it, master?" Yoshka said, finishing hi food.

"Lemme tweak your hexes, I want you both to be able to transform without me," I say, looking into the symbols

Checking around Yoshka's neck I play around with the two lines of symbols while adding another one, the mysterious
letters reshuffling and moving as I use marking hex. Yoksha's body started to change, the same black silhouette
changing his shape just like it did with Fenrir. It then finally revealed a little boy with an abnormal discolored pair of eyes
with patches of smooth scales on his skin.

"Uh..Master? I can't see..." Yoksha said worryingly, feeling around the room.

Attempting to fix Yoshka, you caress his neck again, reshuffling the black symbols once more. Yoshka's body get covered again,
reshaping his child form into a more mature one. What the silhouette showed next was not a snake nor a boy, but a man, and a
damn hot one too. Actually, looking closer he could rival Homura in looks, silver colored hair, a tall and strong build, and eyes now turned
into a natural white. Wait, those clothes weren't there before.

"Oh, I could see again," Yoshka said. "So this is what it feels like to walk on two feet, sister?"

Yoshka turns to Fenrir, her face showing an expression of disbelief.

"W-Wha?! How come it works for you?!" she uttered.

"Yoshka, can you turn back into a shrunken wyrm?" I said, diregarding Fenrir's cry.

"Like this?" Yoshka says, his body returning to his previous form.

Experiment thought:

If we can't draw in mana ourselves, then maybe we can enchant something like a crystal to draw it in for us, a-la a mages staff.

The theory of organic mana may not be so far fetched: If everyone has an internal amount then maybe the body generates mana itself and laylines occur when that mana is released into the environment. If we compare layline location with bio-diversity in an area alongside records of mass deaths, say from a dragon attack, plauge or natural disaster, we may find a correlation in the locations.
>>

Laylines of course could also indicate that the planet itself is also alive in some form, which means we should be able to commuicate with it like a druid would.

"There are many people that walk through my front door on a week to week basis. Some broads want to know if their hubbies are cheating on them. Others just want minor things like checking out some people for suspicious behavior. But her.... She was something, but I'm getting ahead of myself."
"It was a cold and snowy night, the air was so frigid you could freeze your throat by breathing. The city, bustling with the dishonest, lost and downtrodden, like rats coming out when the cat's away. I reached the front door of my office to find that it was left opened, with a mistlike smoke crawling through the crack at the foot of the opening. With a hand on my piece, I carefully pushed the door all the way with the smoke now growing ever bigger and now crawling up my body like a yearning seductress, and the ever so smell of of mint and wolf in the air. And that's when I saw a fur coat on the coatrack, and quickly afterwards, her."
"Sitting at the edge of my desk like a conquering empress, caressed in clothes of dark greens and pure black. With legs like a graceful swan, hair with the aura of obsidian, skin pure white like the driven snow, and eyes... eyes the color of alluring emeralds. I swear if her eyes were weapons she could kill a man on the spot with a single look."
"What snapped me out of my daydream was the fact that she had a job for me. A man was murdered at the docks, not a big deal of course since there's always at least one or two bodies turning up like a much disliked relative. What made it odd though, was that the man was ripped limb from limb, like a kid playing with a doll and forgetting their own strength. And she wanted my help with looking into it before the cops decided that it was more trouble than it was worth. So for the chance to work a more interesting case from the norm, and the chance to see her again I took it."
"Little did I know how fast I would find out about the true meaning behind the phrase "Lone Wolves" and why the coppers and con artists on southside are never seen alone."

The sun dazzling through the window, my half-awake consciousness bids me to get up. The
grogginess accompanies a headache every morning but quickly fading once I regain full
control of my body, my eyes becoming clear after rubbing them. Taking a shower I freshen myself

of Fenrir's nose gets whacked awake by a small wyrm's tail.

"Morning," greeting the two monsters on my bed.

"You as well, master," replied Yoshka.

"Yeah, good morning..." says Fenrir, rubbing her noes to ease the sharp pain. "We goin' out today?"

"Depends how I'll go about it," I said.

Leaving the inn I thought to take it easy for the day, deciding to traverse the city and explore; maybe buy some

Wandering the city I find myself a clothes stores, located near the line separating the lower
and upper districts. The store was normal, or looked to be; dresses, tunics, and a whole
variety of outfits displayed to the street. It was a fancier one either compared to earlier stores for sure.

Entering inside, a woman came to me just as I stepped on to the polished floor.

"Welcome, how may I help you?" she says with an ambiguous smile; don't know if it's fake or not. Either
way it is a clothes store and I wouldn't mind the service.

"How much is a pair of tunics? Pants and skirts too," I asked.

"A tunic is 40 coppers. As for a pants and skirt, they're both priced at 25 coppers," she answered, in
a way that was more machine than human.

"T-Thanks, then I'll get two pairs of tunics and skirts. One of the pairs small enough for a child, please," handing
her the cost.

The woman bowed, taking my money and gathering what I asked for. Coming back to give me my change
and bought clothes.

"Would that be all?" she said while I was busy packing the clothes into my bag.

"Can you show me some outfits? Wait, how much are one of the outfits?" asking for the price of some of
the dresses.

"Select pieces and outfits from our shop are 2 silvers," the woman replied.

Mulling over the decision I made my choice, "..I guess I could get one--"

"--Great, follow me please to the curtains."

She took my hand, taking me to the portion of the store with the change curtains. Opening one of them for
me to enter she then asked me to put my stuff aside, namely my bag, clothes, and...mask.

"Uh..Do you have a veil?"

"A veil? You mean like a wedding one or a different type?"

"Not a wedding veil," I clarified. "Something that's fashioned for everyday use."

"Then we have just the thing!"

The woman left me for a bit, returning with a dark purple veil. The band that held the cloth was decorated
in a modest design, nothing too outstanding that would garner the stares of other people.

"How much would this be?" curious to its cost.

"Just 10 coppers, miss. Now if you would, can you start changing for me to measure you?" she instructed.

Taking the veil, I went behind the curtains to unclothe myself. Removing my current wear I put my clothes within
a corner of the small space along with my bag and mask, Yoshka dangling by the horns. Double-checking behind
me to see if the woman's in sight, which she wasn't thankfully, I then put on the veil; making sure my face was thoroughly covered by the silken cloth. Now I was just bear, ready for the clerk to start measuring.

"I'm done," I called, letting the clerk into the small changing space.

"My," she said in admiration. "Quite the figure you have, miss. Comparable to a noblewoman's."

"Could you start," I reminded her.

"Oh, sorry," she apologized.

Taking a measuring tape out of her back pocket she took my numbers, writing it down on a notepad. The process
took a while but gave the woman everything she needed.

"For preference sake, miss, what do you have in mind for an outfit?"

"Something...mature looking and another one in a young, outdoorsy style," I requested; my answer
might've been too vague though.

"On it," the woman said, exiting behind the curtains leaving me to stand here without any clothes on.

Thinking more about it, I was never one to care much about my appearance. No, scratch that, I took up too
much time worrying about my appearance that I just settled with an average school girl look; my reputation emerging
as a nobody because of my lack of effort in showing any personality while at school. Instead of wearing mini-skirts like
most of the girls in my class, I wore a longer one that reached my knees. Most people if not any just referred to me as
the 'proper' girl, or the quiet one on the rare occasion that my name does come up, let alone remembering who I looked
like. But now here, in this world, my forgettable face is now a great advantage. If I perhaps run into my classmates, er...the
last of my classmates, then I could play around with my identity. A guessing game if I may.

"Sorry for the wait, this should be what you're looking for."

The woman came back, handing me two outfits for me to put on. She then stepped outside again to give me privacy while I
changed into them, standing on the opposite side of the curtain in case I needed anything.

Presenting myself in a mirror that hanged on the changing space's wall, the first given outfit composed a mature look just like
I asked for. The dress' color matched the veil's own, a one-piece reaching down and hovering over my feet as the cloth
hugged my body. The sleeves of the dress was loose, made to drape over my arms. Along with the outfit was a shawl which
was darker in color, making the outfit more complete. Seeing myself in the mirror the only word to describe my appearance
was witch-like.
>>
>>2878743
>(cont.)

The second outfit was more homely and young. The dress this time had its skirt raised higher than the previous
one, the first piece acting as an undershirt and the second piece being a blouse that was meant to be worn over said dress.
I took off my veil for this one since it looked tacky, the dark purple not mixing well with the soft white and peach colors of the blouse
and skirt. All in all, it was easy to move in, floaty I should say.

The remainder of the outfit was just a pair of stockings, nestled on two pairs of shoes. The shoes were simple; they were
slip-ons that were essentially the same design, the only difference being the colors, white and black for their respective outfits
that they came with.

Random thought that came to my head.
I think that once we get our hands on some eyeglasses, we should enchant them with the Appraise skill so we don't have to spend precious time in combat just trying to activate it.
>>
>>2879271
Dude... So every time we want to use appraisal we have tp put the glasses? Otherwise we will have some damn windows everywhere. Honest question, maybe i didn't understand the complete idea.
>>
>>2879306
I mean we can still use it without the glasses, but if we want new information on the fly without going through the process (which I'm assuming we're having to cast it on each separate thing we find, because there was some that wanted to appraise more than one thing and forgot to mention it while activating the appraise skill) we can just instead wear them normally and have information on the go while we go throughout our day.
Of course we will have to have a on and off switch for them so we don't get swarmed with the window boxes.
And now that I think about it, we could probably add a function in that it only appraises new information for things we come across, so that it can ignore old information to show us.
>>
>>2879316
Now, that's a fine suggestion. We may put it in the mask or veil already, maybe. At the Mage's Guild or at the Magic Shop we may find dome glasses, pr we should create them.

"...divinas humanitas," I whispered, keeping the woman from noticing my actions.

Specs of light gathered near my bosom, congregating into my desired form; a blindfold that can be of use
to me, soft colored white.
__________

Created...

[Olm]
-A pure white blindfold, lightly decorated with faint outlines of unknown characters.
Effect
-Disables [Evil Eye]
-The user is able to see through the cloth
-Innate [Appraise]
__________

Happy, I tied Olm around my head, concealing my eyes but letting me see clearly. The material was soft to the touch, like
a blanket gently hugging my face.

Gathering my stuff off the ground I opened the curtains, giving the woman my regards and paying. Going back into the city street
I bordered the upper district where carriages and wagons went in and out, carrying their goods for the purpose of profit. I gotta say,
the blindfold is a pretty good substitute for the mask. Discreet enough for others not to notice my person, though now I look like
a blind girl.

I think we should play to our strengths and focus magic, it's our best stat. Other stats are already pretty high, so they should be sufficient for most purposes.
Although speed may also be important for reflexes, reacting before the opponent and such, but really that depends on what qm use them for - given the orc ambush im not so sure they are all that important... It was 100 at the time yes. And crits have been extremely powerful considering the circumstances of the quest.

Sure but what does it mean. IIRC, 50 was human peak in previous world. Does that mean Nemo can deadlift 4k pounds? I guess it does. But I have no idea what speed or defence do.. Im guessing speed is reaction time and running speed
>>
>>2879535
Well, we killed a god-bear in one punch so that's fairly telling of our strength stat, but we haven't really tested ourselves in speed or defense.
I imagine defense doesn't harden our skin or make us impervious, just improve how well we can tank hits when we're ready for them.

Directing myself to the nearest alley, I called Fen to come out of my shadow.

"Yes, master?" she replied. "Hm, where's brother?"

"I'm in here," says Yoshka, peeking out of my bag.

I pulled out the little tunic and skirt for her, "Here, come, Fen. I got you some clothes while at the store."

"Clothes? But I don't need them," Fen naively said.

"C'mon, it'll be fine. I wouldn't want you to be naked all the time," I reasoned.

"...Find, master."

Hiding behind the cover of the alley I helped Fen put on her new clothes; had to to teach her how to put on a skirt
since she was just a wolf before she met me. Also the tail was pretty hard to figure out where to put it, but I eventually
settled on covering it.

With everything done the clothes fit her perfectly, Fen showing an indifferent expression.

"Feels weird," she says, her tail lifting the skirt behind her.

"You'll get used to it. Also try to keep your tail down, Fen, people will see your panties," I reminded her, brushing down the tail.

"muu~ Okay..." she says, sinking back into my shadow.

Resuming back into the streets I went on to find some sort of magic shop. Asking around again, some people told me that most magic
stores are located in the upper district. They explained that magic items are a luxury, mostly available to the wealthier part of the
spectrum.

"A magic store? Yes, they should be in the upper district, young lady," an old lady answered. "But are you going to be okay? That blindfold
tells me everything about your vision, poor girl."

"Don't worry..I'm in Alia's hands," I say in an effort to make me look like a believer in the church.

"My, I guess that's good...But you should still be careful, young girls like you disappear when they're alone. A
while back, a line of girls disappeared when they were at the upper district because of some noble who's since
then been executed. Do take care," the old women warned.

"I'll be fine, thank you for your help," continuing the facade.

"Anything for the young'uns to keep them out of danger. Good-bye, young girl," she waved, shuffling along.

So, the upper district again, huh, yesterday wasn't that bad if I remember. If anything really does happens I could
probably handle it on my own.

Soon enough I found the magic store I was looking for, tucked between two buildings at
the upper district. Going inside, it was a neat and orderly shop with items displayed inside
glass cases; weapon or non-weapon, it was settled on a cushion, delicately handling the precious
product.

Looking around, a bag caught my attention. It was approximately the same size as my current one, but was
more fine. On it was a tag labeling the it: bag of holding, cost 2 platinum.

Ask who the craftsman/woman is. I'm sure we can find the master magesmith and ask for tips. We can even show him some of our handiwork or something.
In fact, let's enchant something relatively simple as if we aren't as powerful and expound on some theories.
>>
Leaving the magic bag for now I took my time around the store, admiring the polished pieces of
blades, gems, staffs, and other miscellaneous items. Using appraise, the information about each item
pops into a screen for my enjoyment; the store is serving its purpose as a reference, an example
for magic crafting. The intangible text of appraise showing me what makes them work, what makes them tick,
and what its effects are.

Does the blade get coated with fire? Does it have healing properties? Effects towards monsters? Such items are
able to do these things because they either have a magic circle engraved into the item that recites a spell or the item
is granted an effect through magic alone with no physical means.

The first way to make a magic item or grant magical abilities on an item is to apply a magic circle. A magic circle is a
written form of a spell; they're often used in rituals where the circles are huge but even the tiniest drawing of one is able
to cast a destructive spell. Note that the magic circles that appear when casting a spells yourself are different than the physical type.

The second way to make a magic item is by enchanting. Enchanting sorta works like divinus humanitas where the item in question
is granted a desired effect directly; think of it this way, magic circles are written copies of spells and when engraved or drawn on an item it will
cast the spell when mana is applied. Enchanting is a class of spells and skills that directly grants magical effects towards items.

intrigued, I walk up to the man at the counter who was reading a book.

The man saw me approach him, putting aside the book in his hands, "How can I help ya, miss? You lost by chance?"

Hmm so if we assume Yoshka and Fenrir can use mana, we could supply them spells via magic circle-imbued items, and enchant everything they wear, they could be quite capable in combat should we get separated again.
>>
>>2880796

"Do magesmiths exist? If so, do you know any nearby facility?" I questioned.

"Yeah they exist, but they're within bounds of the royal palace facilities. The items sold here are from independent
smithies," the man explained.

I tilt my head, "What will happen if I approach the place?"

"You'd get arrested for sure. Last time I heard, trespassing the crown's home will put you on death's row or slavery. Only
people with special permission are able to enter, nobles and such," he furthered.

"Oh, I guess that's to be expected from the palace."

"It's not uncommon for there be a law like that, miss. It's harsh, yeah, but royalty is like that."

The man picked up his book, flipping the pages back to where he was prior to my questioning.

"Mister, what if I told you that I'm a magesmith myself?"

The man raised a brow, "Hoh? I'm listening."

"Do you have a rock? Something to use for an example."

"Sure," reaching under his desk he gave me a small, square stone. "Use that."

"I want to know just in case, am I gonna pay for this?" I asked uncertainly.

"No, you aren't paying for it. It's just a stone," he assured.

"Alright."

With humanitas, I started implementing the stone with a magical effect; light creation to be exact, something
not too spectacular to keep eyes from drawing to me. There would be no doubt that someone would seek
my skills if word got out.

Finished, I showed the newly magic stone to him, a bright light shining from my hands.

"What do you think?"

The man's eyes were fixated on the stone, analyzing it. "It's impressive for sure. You said that this is an example, right?
Then I assume you can make more than just a lantern replacement."

"Yes. How does it sound if I offer my services to you in exchange for money?"

He closed his eyes for moment, "I don't have a problem with that, but the money I'm willing to buy from you will depend
on the item itself, no one wants a glowing rock for a platinum coin. Deal?"

"Deal."

"Great, come to me if you have anything you want to sell," the man says, putting the stone aside.

"Just like that? I thought you'd be more skeptical," I say tentatively.

"I know a great magesmith when I see one. In all my years of running this store, I learned the difference
in quality from person to person," he says confidently. "Miss, that glowin' rock of yours would've took an
experienced smith an hour or two to make. You ain't ordinary."

"Okay...Then how do I know that you'll pay me fairly if I present you a product?"

"The lowest a magic item can sell for is 40 silvers or so." He then picks up the rock, "This however wouldn't sell
much, probably about 50 coppers since all it can do is shine."

"I see...Costs aside, do you have anything you wan't me to make?"

"No, I just sell the stuff. If I did want something then I wouldn't be running a shop."

"Oh, then I guess we'll see each other when I have something in store," I said, taking my leave and nearing the exit.

"Yeah, next time, miss," the man told back, "The name's Ronald."

Departing from the magic store I recount the whole conversation; now i have another way to earn money besides
doing quest, so it'll be a good alternative to fall back on for income.

Reaching out a hand for me she helped me up from the ground, picking up my bag as well. I thought she would see
Yoshka inside but luckily she overlooked it, handing it to me without a second thought.

"I'm sorry to trouble you, miss, you even stayed to help me. If..If you say so I'll repay you in any way."

"No, no, like I said it's okay. It's nothing," disregarding my offer. "It's a knight's job to help people."

I nod softly, "But I can't accept this kindness without returning anything..."

Marianne sighs heavily, "Uh...Then accompany me, I was on my way to a cafe'."

"Y-Yes, miss."

Ignorant to my appearance, Marianne fell prey to my deception. She had me follow her to a cafe', requesting a for a table
of two for us to sit at while we waited for a waiter to come get our orders.

"What's your name? You said you're blind right?" Marianne said, adjusting her scabbard. "I'm Marianne Du Legoune, daughter

"Wandering. If you have time, could you maybe...show me around Lady Marianne? I don't have the confidence to walk on my own here."

"I would but I can't. Pretty soon I'll have to pick up my armor since it got damaged." The waiter comes back with our orders, setting the plates down in front of us before going away. Marianne took a sip of tea before resuming, "A hole was blasted through it along with a few giant dents."

"Oh, I see...though I'm happy that you considered it." I play my character, making it look like I'm having a hard time finding the fork. Marianne then handed it to me after a few "attempts", "What happened for your armor to become like that?"

"Last night I ran into what may be the culprit for the recent murders down at the lower district. It was a little girl, a bunny demi-human that punched through the steel like it was paper." Marianne took another sip of her tea, cutting off a portion of the cake with her fork and placing it into her mouth. "Told the headquarters what I encountered and what the girl looked like but they can't just send out a whole squad down into the alleys. For now, it's just me and another person to track her down."

A bunny demi-human? That reminds me an awful lot of....that slave...

"...Did anything else happen when you met her?" I said, taking a bite out of the cake; it was good, the taste invading my mouth with a sweet and rich flavor. "If you can, maybe describe her appearance?"

Hey eyes perk up, "As said before it was a little girl, maybe around 8 or so. Dark grey hair and long ears that drooped over her head. Remembering about it more, her body was in a bad shape. Bruises and scars running down her skin," Marianne says, taking another pause to eat another bite from her cake. "Didn't say anything to me before coming at me with a punch. I could've apprehended her, as her physical capabilities were still of a child's, but her strength was monstrous, forcing me to retreat...Why you ask?"

"I just wanted to know, Lady Marianne. Sorry if I'm asking too much of you."

"Don't be; it's nice having someone to talk to. A lot of...things happened and I really needed the talk." Finishing her plate she called over the waiter, paying him for the food. She then got out of her seat, making her way to the exit, "It's been nice accompanying me, Fuuma, but I got to go pick up my armor. Stay safe!" And just like that she left in a hurry.

Marianne's description really does remind me of that bunny girl. Wait, wasn't that place with the slave trader destroyed? I can still remember the man's mangled corpse there, his death making a guillotine execution enticing.

Done with my plate as well, I left the cafe'. Marianne was nowhere in sight as she took off first from the table, in a rush to regain her armor.

Any wishes for enchantments? Im thinking maybe enchanting our bear cloak to tough as fuck, and if possible give all-around vision as defensive measures. The vision one is a pretty popular d&d cloak.

Im conflicted tho, I want more downtime too, but I also want exp

Yeah there's a lot to think about. We also need to bite the bullet and actually talk to Marianne about those maps at some point, find out what the palad knight order might do with the information.
But for today as long as nothing crazy happens we might be able to enchant and create gear, head out and do a quest, then maybe read some books on magic before night.

Returning to the lower district and to Circe, I spent to time relax inside my room. The clothes and magic store took a lot out of me, a normal sigh becoming heavier and heavier after the initial minute of throwing myself on the bed.

My energy restored and my mind stabilized I get back up, opening my bag and sorting things out as Yoshka was already gone from it; himself and Fenrir wrestling each other in the corner. As funny as it sounds, the little wyrm was winning, growing himself big enough to bind Fenrir's child-form.

Map would be useful, but that would defeat the purpose of what I wanted. Which was a device that would lead us wherever we wanted to go even if we didn't know where it was. Not a map that updates with info we obtain ourselves.
>>
>>2883064
It would at least know where things are that we've forgotten. And let's not forget that "point at what I want" isn't perfect. Captain Jack Sparrow had a compass that did that, it pointed at what he wanted at the time.
If you want something that leads you somewhere you don't know about then you'll need to be very specific in how it does so.
Sorry I'm so wordy, I do this when I'm tired.

"...divinus humanitas"

As routine, a light congregated at my bosom. Pulling little specs of ethereal bodies into itself and building what I wanted. Soon, a shape of a map appeared in my hands, the light dispersing into the air.
__________

Created...

[Hermes' Map]
- A simple but refined map with no tarnish whatsoever. A magic circle drawn with ink behind the back.
Effect
- Guiding hand: Maps the user's current surroundings, drawing a path to the desired location of the user.

__________

Inspecting the map it showed my general area. Circe, the adventurer's guild, and all the streets and alleyways displayed and drawn in black ink.

Testing it out, I wanted to know the directions to the guild; a faint blue line drawing on the map as it winds around city blocks and corners, ending with the opposite point reaching an illustration of the building.

Neat.

Also try if with the new map can track drill girl, we may as well try to capture the loli bunny next time she encounter her.

Brushing my hand against my other arm I hex myself, the characters appearing on my skin as if it's a tattoo of sorts. A brief wave of sensational force gushes into my body, leaving myself in a the same state it was before.
__________

Status Ailment:
[Marking Hex of Waking]
- Prevents outside sources to stun or faint the person who's inflicted (Fuuma Nagaro).

__________

Glancing an eye towards Yoshka and Fen, their tussle stopped with Yoshka as the winner. Currently, Fenrir's body is still intertwined with Yoshka's, coiled up around her with only her head freed. Only after I saw this display Yoshka released the rest of Fen's body, the little wolf girl coming to sit besides me while muttering in a displeased fashion. It was as childish as they come, tempting me to cuddle Fenrir into the bed behind us while she cried about how she's now stuck between me.

We can use avaritia to steal a lot if abilities right? Could be cool to make s habit of stealing worthwhile abilities from people
>>
>>2883326
It would be in our best interest to steal from abilities from people whom we're never going to see again or want to be on their good side.
Because I'm pretty sure that the sealing effect is still in play due to the whole "A stolen skill or spell can only be returned by the user." and that they're going to catch on if they ever used that skill/spell a lot in the past.

>>2883356
Wouldnt be any harm in it i think, since we can just give it back right after. I dont want her to feel mistreated or abused though

>Practice our skills and magic before finding bunny

Letting Fen out of my grasp I changed out of my current clothes and into my regular wear. Making sure the leather is adjusted and holstered on correctly I then cleared my bag for more room, storing my high-school uniform and the clothes I bought today into the dresser on the side of my bed.

I've been meaning to practice my magic more, especially avaritia, but there's not much to go in secret except for the alleys. Maybe the forest outside Alia will do, that's a good place if I don't want anyone to know I was there.

>Go outside to Kleinel Forest. That seems to be a good place to keep private
