You are Ushi Walker, the half-japanese/half-american wielder of the mighty quirk “Everything is Bigger in Texas", U.A High first year student, third place in the Sports Festival's Obstacle Race, one of the horses of Team Yaoyorozu in the Cavalry Battle, victor of your first Tournament Match, one of the fighters of the first fight of the second round and currently waiting for it to start.

Your fight against Momo last round wasn't bad for you, leaving you with some chaffing on your wrist as you only injury, if you even wanted to acknowledge it as such.

It was as close to a flawless victory as anyone has gotten so far, way better than whatever Kirishima and Tetsu were doing on stage for that long or the ring breaking match between Bakugo and Midoriya.

You are still a bit bothered by that how that match ended, but considering how Bakugo smashed his back against the concrete ring and dragged him across it, you can't really blame Deku for letting go of his lock, even if you are sure he could have won if he had held it together just-

>"WOAHAHAH!!! IT SEEMS THAT WE ARE READY FOR THAT TIE BREAKING ARM WRESTLING MATCH!!!" You hear Present Mic shout through the speaker on the wall. "JUST IN TIME TO GET ALL OF OUR CONTENDERS FOR THE SECOND ROUND!!!"

Knowing both of them, you know it'd be something exciting to see, as exciting as watching anyone arm wrestling could be at least, but opted to wait for your match in relative calm and peace, to recharge, recollect your thoughts and come up with some sort of plan.

So as you sit on the waiting room chewing on your last giant gummy bear, you try to focus on what's on your near future.

Todoroki Shoto.

Just by his half-red and half-white hair he stands out in crowds, but not nearly as much as his bloodline does, being the son of the N°2 Hero in Japan. Despite all that, he's a nice guy to have around, calm and collected most of the time, to the point that it took you some time to learn to read his more subtle expressions as anything other than an emotionless blank.

But even though you consider him a good friend, he's still the son of Endeavor and the wielder of a powerful mixed quirk, with more years of combat training than he should.

Having sparred and trained with him, you know that just by using his right side he is able to fully encase you in ice, even as you were 13 feet tall at the moment, and you are pretty sure he was holding back at the time. Even back on the Battle Trial, the only reason you beat him was a successful ambush thanks to Mineta.

He also knows what you can do more than anyone else in your class, being there as you tried and successfully shrink-dodged your way through one of his father's tests and now that he saw you use Austin Tossin', you are pretty there's nothing in your arsenal he hasn't seen already.

However, you also know a fair bit about him.
>>
The first important bit would be that overusing his ice makes him lethargic as he starts to freeze himself. You know you aren't much better, but going as big as you can and trying to force him to use as much ice as possible while enduring may work.

You also know that even though he has a decent range with his quirk he needs some sort of contact with a surface to create ice on it, be it with his right hand or right foot, as proven while fighting on Mina's shoulders. If you somehow got him off the ground, he'd be temporarily defenseless.

And even though he is in great physical shape and seems to have some hand-to-hand combat training, he has clearly focused too much on his quirk, and only the right half of it. If you could get into close quarters, it's unlikely he'd be able to stop you from getting a hand on him.

As long you can get a hand on him, you'll win.

But that's all assuming he keeps to his right side and doesn't use his fire to leave you crispy.

You know very little about his flames, only that he can shoot them directly out of his hand and presumably off his foot, and that he doesn't like using them, to spurn his old man.

Having been trying to get him to accept himself for a while now, you were... apprehensively glad when he used them once during the Cavalry Battle.

It's certainly great that he's starting to see himself as his own person, instead of the-opposite-of-what-dad-wants, but the prospect of having him shoot jets of flame your way has you nervous.

Comparing him to his father is the most hypocritical thing you do, but it's hard not to do. Endeavor can, and has, melted concrete with his hands. Shoto would only need a fraction of that temperature to set your skeleton ablaze and cook you inside out, living wood be dam-

>"AND SO THE TIE IS BROKEN!!! AND OUR WINNER IS KIRISHIMA!!!" Present Mic's voice informs you. "WHICH MEANS THAT THE NEXT ROUND SHALL BEGIN SHORTLY!!!"

-ed…

"<That's it.>" You say, eating the last hindleg of the gummy bear and jumping of the chair, letting it fall behind you. "<That much navel gazin' ain't no good for no one.>
Maybe he'll keep to his ice, maybe he'll heat thing up this time, you don't know.

But you know momma is watching here, and pa will surely watch you back home, as hundreds of professional heroes all over the country will do over T.V.

So you stretch and smile, putting on your perfected mask of bravado before sashaying to the gate. You need to put on a good show, after all.

>"IN THIS FIRST MATCH OF THE SECOND ROUND IN THIS TOURNAMENT OF OURS, BOTH COMPETITORS WIELD INCREDIBLY POWERFUL AND VERSATILE QUIRKS!!!" Present Mic announces as both you and Shoto enter the ring once more, coming to stand a mere twelve feet away from each other. "AND BOTH GOT HERE WITHOUT EVER DROPPING FROM THE TOP FIVE TOO!!! BUT SADLY, THERE'S NO ROOM IN THE BRACKETS FOR BOTH OF YOU KIDS!!!"

Thanks to Cementoss, the ring looks just like it did back when you saw it for the first time, down to the massive fires burning in the corners, sending a chill down your spine this time.

Shoto, now in front of you, looks blank. Not neutral as usual, but seems to be consciously trying to keep any and all emotions from showing.

"No banter before the tussle?" You ask him, trying to prod a reaction out of him. "We are on T.V: Hun, we should be bringing folding chairs, ladders and overdramatic boasts! Not… That C'mon, you gotta have somthin' to say."

>"Do your best." He suddenly says, still without emoting. "I will try to do the same."

"I expect no less." You tell him, with an earnest grin.

>"TODOROKI VS. WALKER!!!" Present Mic then shouts, officially starting the fight.

A quick glance his way as you lower your stance to a more dynamic one tells you the obvious, no more, no less. He's watching you too, and just like Momo, you can't figure out what will he do.

Okay guys, let’s feel out his plan this turn, then next turn we shrink the arena out from under him if he’s far and Austin Tossin him if he’s near.

And if we do Austin Tossin again today, make sure to specify we’re using our OTHER ARM this time so we don’t go all Deku on our bones.

>>
Why would you want to move closer to shoto if you're also voting to shrink the ring? It'd just give him an unnecessary chance of grabbing us or something.
The ring would shrink towards us, not towards the center. If anything, going left 1 space would be best if we're shrinking the ring.
>>
>>2871718
what would make it shrink towards us? Isn't it more likely it grows so that the center of mass stays put? doesn't that mean if we shrink it from where we start, it would shrink out from under us too?
>>
>>2871767
It shrinks and grows in a way that maintain's ushi's finger contact with it.
Though we could always ask the QM for absolute clarification on the matter.
>>2870116
Does ushi shrink things towards her or towards their center of mass?
>>
>>2871810
If it's towards finger contact, she could technically fly. It would be horrifying and exhausting, but it'd be flight.

The moment the battle starts, you wrack your brain for a course of action, preferably in the milliseconds you have before going the way of the Titanic.

Knowing that he knows all that he knows about you, you know that you'll need all the advantages possible to beat him and that means pulling something new out of your hat if you want the element of surprise, since he already knows all your moves.

...But you don't have anything new in store.

Heck, you are out of sensible ideas!..

But not trying would be worse than failing, thus, you look around for anything that you could use for a flash of inspiration. But there's nothing in the arena but Soto, you and about 64 American tons of concrete.

...

Shrinking the arena itself...

It's a bit crazy…

No, it's a whole lot of crazy, but it's something you can try and more importantly, something he certainly won't see coming!

With that in mind, you kick off and dash towards Shoto, who quickly widens his stance and braces himself, surely thinking that you were going to barge into his personal space.

Instead, you hop to the left half a dozen feet before you could get into arms reach and hit the deck, getting all ten of your fingers to touch the ring's surface, allowing you to instantly start syphoning mass away from it!

In less than a second, the concrete structure shifts, roaring, groaning and cracking, as you suddenly transfer half of its mass into yourself, causing the ground to violently shake and pulling Shoto close, making him lose his footing and land face first next to you.

It's one of the few things you can see as the torrent of white smoke coming out of the point of contact between the concrete and your hand envelops you, before being absorbed by your skin. It's all the mass you can hold, and the not-quite-cramping feeling in your abdomen makes sure you know it.

After that, you can't possibly shrink anything before getting rid of some mass, but you still smile boastfully, seeing the steam puffs come out of your nose as you keep yourself from panting after pulling that off, but still glad that you did it, as not only did you catch Shoto flat-footed, but you can see the outer edges of the now smaller and thinner ring collapsed and broken, as they shifted towards you while you shrunk them, moving along the ground in a way they were never intended to. Quite a show of power!

...And you can't be the only one that thinks so, as the only sounds you can hear are the edge of the ring still falling apart and momma going ballistic.

But you have little time to do anything but smile, as you suddenly feel all the hair in your body stand on end, followed by a sudden chill.

Instinctively, you try to roll to the side, seeing a mass of solid ice projecting from the concrete where your hands were. Then you feel your back freeze, before you see the ice quickly crawl down your shoulders and down to your very fingertips, numbing both of your arms instantly.

>"That…" Shoto says as he picks himself up, letting you see the path the ice took from his foot to you. "I was not aware you could do that."

"Ah-Ah can do lotsa things!" You say, trying to keep yourself from shivering with relative success before focusing all the strength in your core, performing what feels like the hardest crunch since you started training and shattering the ice connecting you to the patch of frost on the ring, letting you move your shoulders and jump back to your feet. "Like that! I didn't know Ah could do that either!"

Quickly glancing down to your ice-encased arms and impropentu breastplate, accompanied by the feeling of needles in your skin, you can't say you got any points that weren't in style. Shoto managed to cause considerable damage and mostly disable your quirk, and you didn't even got a scratch on him, getting him dirty at most.

...But you got him really close to you, leaving him literally at arms reach now and leaving him little room to run to, something you certainly can take advantage of.

>"She knows what she's doing. Walker had no ranged options, but shrinking the ring and pulling the ground from under Todoroki's feet brought him into melee range." Mr. Aizawa replies, maybe giving you more credit than you deserve. "Overdepending on their quirks is a common mistake that even pros tend to fall for, leaving them severely handicapped when dragged out of their area of comfort. Having said all that, it remains to be seen if she can overpower him in close quarters combat with her arms immobilized."

You didn't stop to analyze it so thoroughly, but he's right.

You got Shoto right next to you! Giving any ground would make the biting pain in your arms worthless at best, and making you an easy target for a ring-out at worst.

>"...ARE THEY EVEN ALLOWED TO DO THAT??!!!" Present Mic continues. "DON'T WE HAVE ANY RULES AGAINST MESSING WITH THE RING??!!!"

>"None whatsoever!" Midnight adds, pressing a finger to her ear with one hand and waving her flogger in the commentators' booth direction with the other. "Rules stay the same! If they make contact with anything beyond the line at the ring's edges, they are out!"

So you decide to capitalize on your advantage and put your training at The Tigers' Den at use, bending your knees slightly and leaning forwards with your arms slightly open by your sides in a stance more akin to the ones used in puroresu than in martial wrestling, but still practical for what you intend to do.

As you do, you lock eyes with your foe once again. For someone who still looks to be winning his match, he seems far gloomier than expected.

>"You will not give up, will you?" Shoto asks. It may be a question, but his tone tells you that he already knows the answer.

"These colors don't run, hun." You tell him, receiving a nod, even though he doesn't seem to fully get it.

Then he raises his right hand, calling forth a blunt ice spike from the ground, slamming it in your abdomen and forcing the air out of your lungs, giving you a pretty good idea of how Aoyama felt at the end of his match

>"Let us not drag this any longer than necessary, then." He replies as you feel the ice quickly crawl over your midriff, tying you down to the ring. "If you stay there, you will be fine after a couple of minutes."

You thought people didn't attack while other talked!.. Or is that just on stage?

...Wait… Is he still holding back!?

"W-Will y-you?" You ask him, shivering and trying to catch your breath as you spy Midnight edging closer to the ring, likely to check if you can continue.

>"What?" He asks, visibly confused. "I'm perfectly okay."

He didn't wait for your conversation to be over, so you won't either.

The moment the looks at your arms you activate Everything is Bigger in Texas, quickly and sloppily pumping a couple pounds worth of mass into each ice glove, loosening their grip around your arms and leaving you with only a thin layer of frost covering your skin.

More importantly though, both of them slide off your arms, slowly flying in Shoto's general direction. Of course, being really slow projectiles the size of your arms, he easily bats them off course.

It lets you see the genuine surprise in his eyes when you place your foot in the are you cleaned with your pawing and kick off, shattering the connection between the ice covering your core and the spike on the ring and driving your knee into Shoto's stomach, forcing him to bend slightly.

All you need to sling your arm around his neck and slide your head under his armpit, placing your numb fist against his hip and crouch. Then you quickly pump your legs, lifting him off and using your fist to turn him upside down in the air before letting yourself fall on your back, hitting his head against… the ice, as the crystal shards flying tell you. Less damage than you hoped for, but surely still managing to rattle his teeth and wits.

With the ice in your core weighing you down and making movement harder than it had to be, you only manage to recover in time thanks to how stunned Shoto seems to be by the surprise piledriver.

But recover in time you do, rolling over the ice shards to entangle your body with his, getting his neck and one of his arms between your thighs and crossing your feet behind his back.

Then, when he tries to get his bearings and support himself with the arm between your thighs, you cross your arms and lock his elbow joint before fully crossing your legs around his neck..

"Cry uncle?" You ask him with a smirk, managing to look down and see his face.

He just raises an eyebrow. As soon as you start feeling the ice crawl over you again, you know why.

But as you feel the ice crawl from his locked arm not only to cover your neck, but also start going down your chest, you quickly press his face against your frost covered abdomen, stopping it's advance before it could numb you too much.

You almost have him!.. But he is also touching you. He could pretty easily freeze you if you give him the chance… Then again, he could end freezing himself to you if he does.

Or maybe the ice crawling up your spine is just making you delirious.
>>
So... why didn't we simply shink him down to minimum size possible?

As you keep his cheek against your glistening abs you realize you can't really keep it going.

Anyone else? Sure, you could switch to a submission hold and pull apart their joints until they give up, of choke them till they drop. But keeping any sort of skin contact with Shoto is practically throwing the fight!

"Heck." You mumble, looking at him, trying to figure out what to do next before he does.

Normally, this would be the point at which you would shrink him and hold his whole body in the palm of your hand, but you can't hold any more mass within yourself to shrink him any more than a few inches.

For an instant, you consider pumping the excess of mass back into the ring, but decide against it. It wouldn't surprise Shoto this time, and it would probably help him to throw you off and take you out.

But even with some shade of feeling coming back to your hands, you know you can't expect to maul him in a fistfight now, making getting a knock-out a non-option.

That, however, doesn't mean you have any idea of how to get him out of the ring and win.
All you have is your tired and overcooling body, a growing headache and about 30 short tons worth of mass in your quirk, that Shoto will no doubt keep you from applying to yourself.

>"Please, stop now." Shoto pleads as he struggles against your thighs, raising his right arm and clawing, trying to get a more direct contact. "This is already over, struggling will only get you hurt."

"Nah!" You reply, shouting. You are too cold, bruised and tired to pontificate. "...One more, 100%"

Knowing you are running out of stamina and ideas, you try and do what you can! You can't let Momma down! And what would Shoto think if you just rolled over? You can't just spend weeks telling him to give it his all if you are going to hold back when it counts.

Putting all you know to the test, you quickly cross your legs, smashing his nose against your abs and stunning him for an instant, allowing you to push him chest first into the concrete and reach for his back with a shaking hand.

But the instant your fingertips are about to reach his jacket, his right hand swings at you, making contact at the same time, causing both your quirks to go off at the same time, a foot wide icicle forms around your body, covering every inch of your body and Shoto suddenly gains 30 tons, making his feet grow out of the ring, covering the ring in a mix of cold mist and white smoke.

"Mo-!?" You let out as you feel his hand impact the upper-back of your leg, trying to not think about the fact that the he fully froze you in your knees by hitting your seat.

But both of your quirks did go off at the same time, a fact that Midnight reminds you off as she waves her flogger at the heels of the now giant Shoto, touching the ground outside the ring.
>>
He froze you in an instant, but still had enough control to leave your face uncovered by your icy cocoon, allowing you to breathe and blink, even if you can barely hear anything.

The cold is soothing though…

Very soothing, calming your once accelerated heartbeat and helping you relax… You are tired and sore and numb… Your headache is fully gone, replaced with an absence of feeling, and you vision is already going dark, why not go along with it all?

But as the cold and exhaustion start stripping your consciousness away, you manage to hear a last curious thing. You can't really make out the words, but you could almost swear you hear cheerful yelling, and some known voices in the crowd…

And the figure approaching as your eyelids drop… She seems pretty familiar. The whip lady.

Her voice and question sound familiar too, but you aren't really sure. What is she even asking? Does it have anything to do with the yelling of the crowd?

Finger-gun's a noun.
Fingerbang is a verb.
The fact that it's also a double entendre is just gravy.
>>
>>2882779
That is correct, I would have phrased the comment as, "Give the audience a fingergun." Saying you will fingerbang the audience isn't grammatically correct because you are not actually fingerbanging them. Consider the following, "we should wave the audience" compared against, "we should give the audience a wave". In conclusion, English is a shit language because it is incredibly vague. Even my examples can be misunderstood quite easily.

>>
>>2882853
I was just pointing to a specific bit of grammar. in the case of knowing Jim and having sex with Jim and having met Jim are identical phrases, "I know Jim."

I feel like with gestures and the nouns and verbs that represent them there is a special bit of grammar that makes it very unclear.

No, I'm just committing a bit of very bad, sexually suggestive wordplay. I can't think of a single rule of grammar that disallows it.
If I'd just said "make a fingergun at the audience" it would have implied something more like pic related. Fingerbang in the concept of an action a character would take in an anime, and in conjunction with a gif demonstrating my exact meaning (make fingergun, "fire" fingergun while saying "bang", collapse on the ground, harvest viewer feels for 20+ years), is more clear.

Your hearing has never been too good, and volunteering for whip and gun tricks without ear protection certainly didn't help, so the fact that you can hear anything with your ears covered by inches of ice is not normal.

Why are all these people still yelling? The match is over.
Is it a tie? Did you win? Did you lose somehow?
You don't know, and there's little you can do about it.

>"MAN, I GOTTA SAY I FEEL FOR TODOROKI HERE!!!" Present Mic comments. "LOSING TO A RING-OUT AFTER DECIMATING YOUR FOE, THAT'S GOTTA STING!!!"

>"A ring-out is just another way to achieve victory, as valid as a knock-out. And after shrinking the ring, it was something to be expected." Mr. Aizawa replies. "Nothing more than a logical application of her quirk to the rules the tournament works on."

Even as the whip lady, Midnight, you suddenly remember, walks towards your icy casket, you can feel your energy slip away along with your body heat. The thin layer of sweat and water between your skin and the ice only makes it worse and even the steam in your breath gets less and less visible as the seconds crawl on, but your every muscle feels like it's about to cramp, shivering and shaking in what little room your body heat managed to melt in the ice before being sapped away.

Eventually, after what may be either five seconds or twenty minutes, Midnight stops in front of you and points at your face with her flogger, saying something that takes far too much energy to decipher, having to parse the sounds a couple times in your head before they make sense.

>"Can you still move, Walker?" She asked before starting to lower her red flogger.

The effort only makes you more and more sleepy.

But the noise gets louder after she says it, the yelling, the... Cheering doesn't let you keep your eyelids down, drawing your attention to the cheering itself.

You may be feeling like a frozen hamburger stapled to a plank, but hearing not only your friends and mother but a thousands strong crowd cheering for you makes you feel fuzzy and warm inside for a second, before the realization that you are about to let them all down drives a spike colder than ice into your heart.

The best mom in the world, the best friends you've had, the thousands of people believing that you'll pull some trick off your sleeve and the teacher looking more sad than disappointed as she lowers her flogger…

And all the little unfortunate kids you hope to inspire, here with their parents or back home in front of their screens.

No.

A thousand times NO!

You might be feeling like your brain is turning into a 7-Eleven slushie and your muscles are tearing themselves apart, but you can't stop now.
You gave your best to make the fight a good show, a mediocre final won't do.
You know you should have more energy than two uses of your quirk at full power, and you have had pieces of your own skeleton pulled off. You can endure a couple minutes more.
>>
With that thought on your mind, you nod towards Midnight before she can say anything else. Not a simple tip of your head, but you snap your neck forwards as hard as you can, forcing your horns to break the ice around your head with the sound of shattering crystal and sending hairline fractures down the rest of the pilar you are encased in.

Maybe a simpler answer would have been enough, but words are hard to find now, and you need to save what few you have left in you for what's really important.

>"..." She may look impressed, and even a bit hopeful, but is clear that moving your neck is not enough movement for Midnight.

That's fine, you can do better.
With a grunt, you bend forwards, ignoring the cramping in your guts and using every muscle in your back and core to break the pilar in half, shattering the ice around your legs and letting you stand on your unsteady legs and look at Midnight in the eye before repeating the process with your arms, flexing your arms over your head as the ice shards fall to the concrete.

>"Huh." You hear your homeroom teacher grunt in surprise.

"<"Y-yeah!">" You answer Midnight's question, fully raising your arms over your head in a straight V, clenching your fists and locking your joints to hide how weak and shaky doing that left you.

>"Walker wins and advances to the semifinals!" Midnight announces, and for a second, as your shoulders start cramping too and your ankles threaten to give up on you, you wonder if it was worth it, but then the already loud cheering goes wild, prompting a sincere smile to form in your face as you start slowly walking towards Shoto.

>"WAIT, IS SHE STILL MOVING!!!?" Present Mic asks shocked, getting Mr. Aizawa to sigh.

>"You and most of the teachers at U.A. along with the media only saw her unconscious in the aftermath of the attack at U.S.J. But that wasn't due to any villain blow. She went back into the danger zone in search for her classmates many times, still bleeding, until she gave everything and couldn't go on anymore." He says, taking a pause to breathe and ponder. "I can't say I saw this coming but I'm not surprised either. Walker was already the kind of person to give her one hundred percent, seeing her go beyond it is just an early milestone here."

As you stare into one of his eyes, Shoto doesn't look particularly angry, but doesn't' get up just yet, staring back at you as you walk towards him.

After you reach him, you put one of your hands against is nearest shoulder and take back all the extra mass you forced upon him, struggling to keep your guts inside you as you do, but refusing to show any of it.

Only after he's back to his normal size and picks himself up, you stretch your shaky right hand towards him for a handshake.

The moment he takes it, you place your other hand above his and speak your mind.
>>
"M-My all… Almost didn't make it, ya see?" You tell him, trying to keep your eyes open for one more minute. "Half didn't cut it here, and Ah reckon it won't in the world of pros either."

Before he can reply, you pull your hands back and turn around, walking towards the gates as fast as you can force your legs to go.

You regret not being able to see the reaction of the crowd, but there was no way you could stay and watch. The moment you get into the inner stadium and out of sight, you fall forwards...

You don't recall hitting the floor.[/green]

As expected, you wake up tucked in at Recovery Girl's, with a remote by your side and a small T.V in front of you. You are also still tired and feeling tender all over, but you can move normally.

Alright lads lets discuss our strategies for the upcoming fight against either pony or sero.
What are your ideas?
>>
>>2885939
Hey PM, don’t you think Ushi earned a her first die in courage from that?

And what are our stats at?
>>
>>2885939
>>[Nap some more, you'll need your A-Game for whoever's next against you!]
>>
>>2885966
Support enen better we eat ourself inside it and hollow it out and just nest inside it
>>
>>2886418
that's gross
>>
>>2886296

For Sero, if he tries to tape Ushi she can just shrink him through the tape as she did with momo and the rope in the second event, we should try to bait him into doing that. Make the same moves we did at the beginning of this fight to make him think we're going to shrink the arena to force him into melee (where he Is at a major disadvantage) then when he tries to stop us with his tape, grab it and shrink him.

For Pony, she seems to rely on melee, more specifically charges. Either stay still and wait for her to come to us then Austin tossing at the right moment to slap her out of the way or just grow to max size and stand in the middle then out strength her.
>>
>>2886611
pony's cannon attack might be able to dislodge Ushi even in giant mode so maybe the best way to go about it is shrink her.
>>
>>2886620
First we need to touch her. Maybe shrinking the arena might work with her too?
>>
>>2886642
we are full already and her method of victory is probably ring out by way of cannon attack, so shrinking the ring does not seem like the best idea.
>>
>>2886663
Well, we can always just dump mass into the earth before the round starts. It’d be a good idea to do so just to give us enough room to shrink our opponent at least.
>>
>>2886663
Good point.

>>2886892
Or we can grow the arena and completely eliminate the possibility for a ring out. Only a knock out victory would be possible.
>>
GUYS.

GUYS LISTEN.

GUYS-ahem. So, we've got a metric fuckton of mass stored up, and a beat-up cowboy hat on our head.

Given how our quirk appies its effects nearly instantaneously, how about we just stand in the middle of the ring, grow our hat to max size and let it instantly grow into a dome that covers the ring? Our opponent can't do anything except get inevitably pushed away and earn us a ring-out.
>>
>>2887365
if she jumps onto the lip and holds on, she wouldn't be out. alsothe hat is kinda fucked up, isn't it? with holes and stuff.
>>
>>2887365
This gave me a idea however...We should use our jacket to grow as a bullfighter cape. Use Pony's huge horns to plug it and cover her sight.

But that might be a little bit to humilating for her...
>>
>>2887384
She's a horse with horns we're the bull
>>
>>2887436
So we need to shrink, hop on her back and turn this into a rodeo?
>>
>>2887510
she has thumbs and arms that allow her to reach her back.
>>
What about something like this when facing pony.

Let her come to you, when she charges you will shrink dodge out of the way and attempt to touch her as she passes then shrink pony.

Shrink dodging was Legs+Dodge+Quirk-1 last time we did it and shrinking is Hands+quirk with an exra -1 to both for doing them both at the same time. If all of our stats are down by one for the damage caused by shoto, that would make this 4d10 to dodge and 5d10 to shrink Pony. If not it's 5d10 to dodge and 6d10 to shrink Pony.
>>
So, something to consider for the future. One of Class 1-B appears to be a discount knockoff of Ushi. Yui Kodai's Quirk, "Size" allows her to grow and shrink herself. We'll have to wait until we see her fight in the manga to see what her limitations are.

So why hasn't she shown up? Could Ushi have her own 1-A/1-B Rival, like Kirishima and Tetsutetsu?
>>
>>2891228
Yeah, we talk to her all the time at lunch.
Pretty sure her power can only effect herself though, so there isn't ALL that much overlap.
>>
>>2891668
I don't think we ever talked to her. We talk with Kendo, with the big hands. But not Yui

Perhaps calling it waking up was being too optimistic, as you feel like there might be a a spade of Elmer's smeared over your eyes, making even blinking rather laborious.

Still, the tournament is still going on, and there's no way you'll miss it!..

With that thought, you hop off the bed, overestimating your tired and battered legs and ending sprawled on the floor with your rear up.

Luckily, there's no one around, as you don't think "my tree instincts told me to hug the earth" would work as an excuse inside a building.

Grateful for the tiny rug under your face, you look around the room for anything of interest, finding nothing new. In fact, even the bowl of gummies is in the same place.

So of course you pick yourself up and go pick one up!

It's only a dozen feet, but you can't help but notice your every joint creak and groan, joining your aching muscles in their protest.

So you reach into the bowl and pick a red bear, holding it with five fingers and pumping enough mass into it to make it teddy bear sized, yawning as you try to bite into it.

"...Maybe I need some more shut-eye." You comment to yourself, hugging your treat and shuffling your feet back to the bed. "Can't really fight anyone like this..."

You tuck yourself in and start chewing into the red, sugary menace, allowing yourself drift back into sleep, dreaming of ice cream and summer.

>"...pretty well." You hear Sero say in a hushed voice nearby. "I'd say better than expected. It was a sweet hit you got there. I'm pretty sure I heard it from here!"

>"Yeah, but it wasn't good en- Ack!- enough." Uraraka replies, wincing in pain.

>"Really exciting stuff, dearies, but try to keep it down. You'll wake Walker up!" You hear Recovery Girl chastise them.

"I reckon it's a bit late for that." You say, sitting up and stretching your arms before, pulling the half eaten remains of sugary-goodness off your hair and face. "Howdy, what are y'all doin' here?"

After opening your eyes, you can see that the bed next to yours is currently being occupied by Sero, who's sitting there shirtless, with his abdomen bandaged. You can feel your bra straps starting to dig into your shoulders again, but you still grab the sheets and quickly cover yourself.

In the middle of the room, is Uraraka, with a bandage on her chin and sitting on a small stool, to let Recovery Girl clean some sort of wound on the back of her head.

"...did Ah miss somethin'?" You ask, tilting your head.

>"Only two matches and some extra minutes of rest, deary." Recovery girl replies, sighing.

"Two? That means Kirishima and Bakugo are next, right?" You ask, genuinely curious.

>"Yeah, they haven't started yet." Uraraka says, quickly pointing at the door. "You can still catch the whole thing if you run off right now."

Bakugo hasn't been as much of a bother lately, being decent enough for you to start using his actual name for now. But you'd still like to see Kirishima leave him singing about about a Daisy girl.

"Hoo-Wee! Looks like Ah woke up just in time! Let's watch 'em, then!" You say, reaching for the remote and turning the T.V on. "Ah mean, Ah reckon we could wait for one of them to wash up 'ere, but tales just ain't the same."

And while you aren't surprised about the commercials on screen, you still feel somewhat disappointed.

>"You know, I thought you'd run off back to the stadium. Your third fight's next, isn't it?" Sero comments as the T.V. starts talking about pudding, and stretching his arms.

"Not our fight?" You ask him, recalling that your next fight ought to be against either him or Pony.

He looks down for a second, but he quickly looks up with a soft laugh, hitting his bare chest with one of his fists before pointing at the faded bruise on his abdomen with his thumb.

>"Nah, sorry I've been in one too many farm accidents already. Your friend with hooves, Tsunotori, she really knows how to kick. Almost made me throw up a lung!" He says, covering his mouth and coughing before laughing . "Good job with Todoroki, by the way. I'm kind of glad I don't have to fight you now, I don't think my tape can hold you after breaking out of that ice."

"Aw shoot, sugar. I was really looking forward to showing off some yoyo tricks." You snark, trying to keep your cool after the farm comment before looking back at Uraraka. "How about yours, Uraraka?"

Unlike Sero, who either didn't look all that affected or was quickly getting over his loss, Uraraka is definitely gloomy.

>"Did my best, for all the good it did." She says, sighing and dropping her head a bit, to the frustration of Recovery girl. "I managed to get Tokoyami to float, but Dark Shadow didn't care.It just smacked my head against the ring and dragged me off."

>"Please, stay still deary, you don't want debris under your skin." The school nurse warns her, getting Uraraka to huff and pout.

>"Hey, no need to be upset!" Sero says, with his amiable grin reinforcing the message. "You got farther than most, managed to get past Dark Shadow and showed off what your quirk can do. Pretty sure that's as good as it gets."

>"Yeah, I showed how much nothing I can do." She replies. "You actually fought your matches, swung around and immobilized Ashido and Tsunotori with your tape. You probably got a lot of pros interested in you with that."

Being the only student in the room who won her match, you don't know what to say, or even if you should say anything at all.

Instead, you look awkwardly at Recovery Girl as she finishes taping a small bandage to the back of Uraraka's head and plants a kiss next to it.

"So, uhm… How’m ah lookin’ doc?” You ask the the youthful heroine, dropping the sheet you were covering yourself with and pointing at yourself with both thumbs. "Bill a health clean?.. Also, how did Ah get here?"

>"Oh, I don't really know about that, the stretcher robots went to pick you up on their own. I guess someone was watching you on the CCTC. But yes deary." She replies, putting away her supplies and turning to point at you with her syringe cane. "You can stay a little longer if you want, but you are good to go. Just keep in mind that if another one of your classmates gets on a stretcher, you'll have to free the bed before they get here."

"Ah'll leave it clean and fresh, don't you worry none." You reply, keeping an eye on the T.V. "Might as well… The gummy kinda messed up the sheets."

>"Don't blame the gummies." Recovery Girl rebukes you, pointing her cane at your neck.

"No ma'am!" You quickly reply. "My bad, ma'am! Won't happen aga-"

Then the T.V stops blaring jingles and starts showing a panning shot of the stadium, as Kirishima and Bakugo enter the ring from opposite sides.

>"WELCOME BACK, LISTENERS AT HOME!!!" Present Mic announces as the screen splits in half, showing a close-up of Kirishima's smiling but determined face on the left, and of Bakugo's condescending sneer on the right. "WE HAVE BEFORE US THE LAST MATCH BEFORE THE SEMI-FINALS! YOU KNOW HIM ALREADY, THE UNYIELDING DETERMINATION OF A YOUNG MAN, KIRISHIMA EIJIRO!!! VERSUS!!! THE IRRESISTIBLE FORCE OF A BARREL OF AMBITION WITH NO FUSE TO SPEAK OF, BAKUGO KATSUKI!!! STARRRT!!!"

The instant the match has officially started, both boys run towards each other, meeting closer to Kirishima's side than the real middle, thanks to Bakugo's use of his blasts to propel himself faster.

Being the one to reach his foe, Bakugo uses the momentum of his charge to reach for a palm strike against Kirishima's face, connecting against his nose and igniting his quirk, making the screen flash white for a fraction of a second.

But when the image comes back and the smoke clears, the only sign Kirishima shows of being in the explosion's path is the smoke coming out of his sharply angled nose as he throws an uppercut at Bakugo's jaw, who instantly detonates one of his hands and slides a feet to the side, avoiding it and striking back.

Yet the indirect blast has just as much effect as the direct one before it, none at all.

>"So, you think it'll be another endurance test, girls?" Sero suddenly asks, pointing at the screen. "I mean, I think Bakugo will start piling damage soon enough, but I also thought the steel guy would break Kirishima, so I guess I don't know anything."

He then starts shifting his eyes between you and Uraraka, who is just opening her flip phone and closing it over and over.

With that in mind, Let's roll those lovely face dice!

So let's have a small vote for it.

Boys usually don't get involved in girl talk. But it's Sero i doubt he will be sensitive about that.
>>
You ponder on Sero's question for a second, looking at the screen to check how is the fight going.

Bakugo's offensive is relentless, blasting at Kirishima's face with enough force to start making the redhead's feet slide backwards as he did. It makes it somewhat surprising when Kirishima opts to stand on his toes, causing him to slide nearly to the edge of the ring with Bakugo's next blast.

But suddenly starts making sense when he raises his knee and kicks down, stabbing his angular foot into the ring, creating a foothold and raising his arms in front of himself in a cross arm block and stomping forwards.

"Nah, one will slip soon enough and the other will tear him apart. "I mean, Ah have no idea which one of 'em will be, but it won't be too long." You answer, looking back to the nervous Sero and the frustrated Uraraka. You then take the remains of your gummy victim and enlarge it several times over, until the hindlegs are as big as the whole thing was. "Any chance y'all want some gummy? Ah know candy cheers me right up!"

Uraraka just glances your way before looking back at her phone, but Sero shows more interest.

>"It's not sugarfree, right? I don't think my guts can take anymore punishment." He asks with a worried smile, getting a nod from you and then looking relieved. "Sweet! Gimme!"

"Catch!" You yell, tearing off one of the legs and throwing it across the room, then watching how Sero snatches it out of the air with his tape. "Dang, ain't that one useful quirk!"

>"Yeah!" Sero says, not wasting the chance to show off and waving a hand at the dispenser on his other elbow. "Useful for sealing, displacement and fetching of anything! ...But hot mugs."

>"Please dearies, you may be all well now but you shouldn't yell in an infirmary." Recovery Girl says, swiveling on the chair of her desk to face you.

Of course, you then step off the bed and tear the other leg off, walking towards the school nurse and handing it to her.

"Ah know this is mighty silly and you must-a have a bag of them somewhere, but Ah wanna thank ya' for taking care of us time and time again." You honestly tell her. "I reckon Ah'll be back here in a few minutes or so!"

>"...Well, you are welcome deary." The youthful heroine replies after a second of hesitation, looking at the piece of candy like she didn't really know what it was for.

You then move on to the last occupant of the room, Uraraka, who was still sitting on her tiny stool and still busy wearing down the hinges on her flip phone. Naturally, you come to stand next to her and reach over her neck, pulling her into a one armed hug against your abdomen and presenting the butt of the gummy bear to her to cheer her up.

"You had some bad matchups, but the pros saw what you can do! Ah reckon that's the whole purpose of this thing, ain't it?" You tell her, trying your best to see her face beneath your breasts as you talk to her and pinching a bit of fat below her ribs. "Ah can't really put mahself in your shoes, but Ah reckon you'll give a good show next year!... Or the one after that. Thing is, Ah'm sure that with a bit of training and some attempts you'll beat someone!"

Considering you were just trying to cheer her up and giving her free candy, it's actually a surprise to you when she plants her hands on your sides and tries to push you away, only managing to tilt her stool to the opposite side till you stepped aside, breathing deeply for a few seconds.

>"I'm trying really hard, and I'm sure you are trying too, but I need to be anywhere else." She says, standing up and putting her phone in her jacket pocket before turning towards the exit.

"...Trying? Trying what?" You ask her, stepping aside and letting her go.

>"To be nice, Ushi." She replies at the door, dragging your name on before walking away.

Somehow, this is one of the few times you aren't sure if she meant it as your proper name or just the japanese for cow. Oddly enough, it feels like both.

"...What just happened?" You ask, looking idly around the room for an answer.

>"Not sure, really." Sero answers, shrugging and holding his chin. "I mean, you weren't wrong, but maybe she took it the wrong way."

That didn't help much, you think as you look back onto the T.V.

Bakugo and Kirishima haven't stopped trading blows, with the main difference so far being that the ring itself looks like an anti-ankle trap, full of holes and far more damaged than any of the boys, who only look sweatier than before.

But when they clash again, you see the first instance of damage, as Bakugo holds both of his hands together and aims a concentrated blast at Kirishima's core, pushing him back despite having his feet digging trenches in the concrete.

Even through the smoke and the confusion of the camera operator not knowing what to focus on, you can see that that must have hurt Kirishima.

Not too much though, as his squareish fist swings from the left in a haymaker, making Bakugo propel himself to the right to avoid it and going straight towards his other, ready fist.
His lightning fast reflexes allow Bakugo to avoid most of the damage, but you wouldn't be surprised if he comes to see Recovery Girl after the fight to have her check the massive bruise that must have caused.

>"Or maybe she still don't gets The Ushi Mem...o..." Sero continues, lowering his voice in the end and faking a coughing fit.
>>
